In short

The episode features Greg “Window Kid,” a Nottingham rapper/MC, talking about his origin story and online persona, his near-death experience that led to major life changes, his sobriety after addiction/alcoholism, and his music career (including viral TikTok/Instagram content and collaborations). It also includes schoolyard stories, tattoos, and Nottingham slang/food/pub recommendations.

Guest backgrounds

Greg is a Nottingham-based rapper known for “fire in the booth” style rambling bars and for appearing in feeds alongside Mash tag (they collaborate and share content). He describes a past life of heavy drinking and chaotic behavior, later turning to sobriety. He also has asthma and discusses using inhalers.

Key claims

He says he was hospitalized after a life-threatening incident with a doctor estimating about a 20% chance of living. He claims he’s now sober (0% alcohol mentioned) and can’t do things he used to love. He claims he was lifetime banned from Jet2 after airport/drunken behavior in Greece, including being cuffed and escorted to a hotel.

Notable examples

“Window Kid” nickname comes from childhood window-related fears/ghost stories and being labeled “some window kid.” Worst school moment: calling a teacher “pedo,” leading to being kicked out. Jet2 incident: drunken airport theft (e.g., Chanel bottle), smoking on the stairs, refusing to hand over passport, and AK-47–armed police involvement. Tattoos: drunken taxi-driver name tattoo (Moosa) confirmed via FaceTime.

It's still absolutely fucking scorching here in the UK. and we're going to go from fire in the skies, Stevie White. That is awful. To fire in the booth. It's Mr. Window Kid. He didn't look happy at that though. It is all right. I like Mr. Window Kid as well. Fire in the skies.

4:01Well, that's the sun, mate. The sun is... No, no, no, I get you, I get you. Yeah. I got it. How are you? I'm all right, brother. Are you? Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. You're looking pretty cool. Cheers, bro. Yeah. As in like heat wise or... No, like you're cool. In general, yeah. It's not often. Have we ever had a rapper or an MC on here before? it's going to be harsh if we say no and we have let's have a think, let's have a think, musicians musicians, you could be the example, an example on yeah, four times four times his chat I love example, but Jesus, I couldn't do four times little man look, let's talk through the drip do people still say the drip?

4:40I don't really know sometimes call me one, but I don't know right well you got a gold tooth right what how is it did you take a tooth out to put that no no just slides on slides on could i get away with that uh haven't you basically got that but white ones yeah i don't know if they make them that size either yeah they're too they're too they're pretty mental aren't they too big they're good though they're very white well everyone online gives me shit for them and they and they say why did i go for the hollywood 10 i didn't i went for three on the chart one two three four on the colour yeah nine for three but 110 being the white yeah yeah oh and people um people rinse me for them maybe they are slightly bigger than normal teeth but that's not a bad thing he was just talking about the colour no but I'm not saying that the reason why I say that is because I actually spoke recently about how it's sometimes girls look nice with big teeth is that weird like big white teeth yeah and I think I don't know I'm trying to just out dig this whole man well right Greg Greg, your name's Greg.

5:44I'm kidding. Right, Greg, you're called Greg. Right, yeah. But your rap name is Window Kid. Yes. You've been asked this a million times. The one podcast I've watched with you on, you refused to say why you're called Window Kid. Yes. But you said it was out there. I could have researched it. I haven't, Greg. Why are you called Window Kid? It's a mystery, man. No, it's not, though, because it's out there. It's a mystery, man. brother it's the shittiest story of all time and i just don't want bro it literally i'll say it you'll finish the podcast you'll go right yeah nice one great chat or should we have a guest let's have a guest what do you think um i've had to see my brain naturally goes towards like negative like peep and tom kind of oh oh i don't look through kids up like didn't say kids it's not that oh yeah yeah okay no peep and tom stuff i think you know the naughty kid at school would always get kicked out of class and what would they do they'd stand in the corridor and they'd look through the window yeah we'll do that let's have that that's fine yeah is that better than the actual thing that's that's what it is now i think we've shot ourselves in the foot because i don't think he's gonna tell us now go on people at school thought i was scared of windows what what did you do to make someone think that boy is scared of windows see now this fucking conversation is happening man um there was just a few things man one time do you know when you're like you're dead young and you have sleepovers you tell ghost stories right yeah one of them was specifically about my nonna and my dad and they saw something pop up at a window right yeah number one ticked off yeah Number two, at one time, my friend's brother was going to shoot a postman with an air rifle out of a window.

7:32And I remember trying to drag everyone away from this window. And I know this conversation is terrible. No, no, I like it. I like it, yeah. You need to know the caliber of guests we've had on before you. Dry. Okay, okay. Example four times. Yeah. And then another one, I thought I saw, I think there might be more but another one I thought I saw we was all like just on the road just like drinking smoking weed whatever and I thought I saw a nun in a window when I was at school days and a few other things happened to do with windows I think at one point I just said as well windows are relatively scary anyway because if you fall out of any of them apart from the first one you're probably going to die so some chat and then one day someone literally went fucking yeah some window kid over here and that was it It was called Niamh Hold tight Niamh if he's watching this But he said it once, it stuck And I never got rid of it Do you have a Mac?

8:31So you're not even on Windows? No Traitor to the name I know bro All of it's just terrible It's alright mate I wanted to keep it a mystery It was so much cooler as a mystery You are cool Look at us You could be this You didn't have to put me in that, did you? Thank you, mate. You are cool, bro. Right. I think you're in a fucking podcast. Windowkid, we ask the same opening question to every single guest we've ever had on. Sometimes we let the guests prepare it. I haven't done that with you. I want you to imagine a place called the Happy Hour Hall of Fame. You can put any item into the Hall of Fame, something that means something to you.

9:11It can be comical, it can be serious, it can be stupid, it can be silly, it can be a person, it can be a place, it can be a thing. What would you, windowkid, like to put in the Hall of Fame? Okay. Don't say windows. What has... What did the last person put in there? Last guy we had, he said his family. Very common answer. Sometimes people are nice. Sometimes people might put food in. Someone put a gun in there once. Just one thing that I really love. Yeah, that's your thing, yeah.

9:39I probably won't put windows in there, as I'm scared of them. You're not. You've been convinced that you are. Don't let people gaslight you, mate. Fucking pricks. You love windows. Yeah, innit? I fucking love that shit, man. I'm going to keep it very transparent. Good. Good. Slow it down. That's better than fire in the sky. What am I going to put in there? Do you know what I might put in there? I might put in my new pink inhaler. Oh. Just because it's kind of like a life or death thing, isn't it? Yeah, because apparently I might have this wrong, but the blue one's just like, oh, they just fancy a little hit.

10:16But the pink ones, you need them. well this is like a new thing this is like a new drop yeah yeah I had to camp out all night and so the blue one is just for like addicts just like day to day just like yeah I'm going to blaze my inhaler when you need it after running etc and then the brown one is for I can't believe we're going over this is for night time and morning as like a preventer and then this one is a fucking collab bro it's got it all New ting, bro. I swear to God, it just dropped. So how many times a day are you having to hit that? When have you? For fun. Just one hour. It's one in the morning.

10:55I think it's one in the morning, one at night, and also whenever I want it. So it's like kind of like, like say if I do some exercise, but also it's got that preventant inside. What makes you feel like you want it? Like as a... In course. What? I didn't mean specific. Very good. I'm like, what are you feeling? Oh, I need that. Oh, right. You're just wheezing. oh okay you're asmatic then yeah yes yes I am asmatic great question what did you think that was I'm very clued I pick up on these things I see inhaler I think must be asmatic okay so you're putting the inhaler in by the way people know your story you're not back on the booze are you you've just kindly given me a 0 % 0 % cheers mate cheers brother cheers we've got some quick fire questions you didn't have one so only cool people have it so we've got some quick fire questions to get to know the man behind the music.

11:50So, Stevie, kick us off. What's the most recent picture on your camera roll? Am I allowed to look? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a new question I added, Stevie. I like it. You like it? I like it. Would you be nervous to open yours? Me, yeah. Could be anything. It's a child playing me. It's an actual window kid. Can I see? Yeah. I want to see if this kid... Oh, do you know what? behind

12:23right okay when's this podcast coming out about three weeks I think okay so that's the child that plays me in my tour video my promotional tour video to promote my new tour that's cool because I'm going on tour yeah go on plug it plug it in the tickets are out or potentially sold out and if they are sold out fucking yeah are you coming to Norwich no I'm coming to Norwich for a wedding soon. That's it. Well, I can't buy tickets. Why are you not coming to Norwich? I don't know, brother. I didn't sort it out. My agent did. But Norwich was not on the thing. Did you say, what did you say? Who sorted it out?

12:59My agent sorted it out. Thank fuck for that. I heard that wrong. What do you think you said? I think you said some Asian. Jesus. Okay. So the last camera in window kids camera roll was a child from behind. number don't say it like that number two what's the worst tattoo you have and why oh okay I'll give you a good one actually this is this tattoo here it's uh it says Musa oh yeah okay yeah I was uh in lockdown yeah I was in lockdown on the way to a tattoo place because I'm a fucking rebel and my mate we just used to go there and get tattoos and get pissed up yeah and um I was in the taxi on the way to the tattoo place and I said to the taxi driver what's your name I'm going to get it tattooed on me today and I took his name and his number and I fucking got his name tattooed on me and I never rang and told him.

13:57Do it now. He's got something out. I swear to God. Oh mate. I've never ever rang him. FaceTime him. I just need to let you know I've got your name tattooed on me. Bro honestly I've got his name. He might be driving. He might be driving. This will be the best thing ever if he answers. He actually will. Why have you never told him? Fuck knows bro, I was waiting for you guys This was years later

14:25Hello Hello, is that Moosa? Yeah Hey pal, this is really random yeah But you drove me in your taxi During lockdown a few years ago Right And I said to you I was going to get your name tattooed on my leg And I actually did I just forgot to tell you Do you remember that? Can you screen record it? Can I screen record it? I don't know if you can on the first time, but you might be able to see.

15:31Yes, Moosa.

15:35Hello, he remembers you. Yes, brother. Hold this for me. Wait look Musa Here's your name Oh my days I'm on a podcast right now So hold tight Musa I just thought I'd let you know I forgot Go on Musa Oh my god Yeah man You're great This is amazing Alright brother Well take care I remember you now bro I remember I remember the face properly Okay well I've got you for life now brother I'll drop you a text all the best bro you have just made his day you probably made his year he was bear happy I thought you might find it like super weird and like been like no I don't want to go on FaceTime it's fine I believe you he's in the car as well just at work I love it that is probably top five things that's ever happened on this show you did just answer the question what's the worst answer you have oh yeah shit Shit, yeah.

16:39Sorry, Moosa. Sorry, Moosa. I do like it, really. You know, you've got a castle on your thigh as well. Yes. Do you know what, brother? I was drunk. I've never had a sober tattoo, ever. Every single one of my tattoos I was drunk. Don't have a clue what that castle was for. Don't know what it's about. I didn't know if it had a reference to West Ham, but yeah. No, no, no. I'm from Nottingham, just here in Nottingham Castle, but I don't know. When I woke up, because I'm looking at it that way, I thought it was a spaceship. I thought you could have like flames coming out of here and it was like flying that way.

17:12You didn't remember what you... Bro, no, bro, I can't remember a pair of them. This one, this one here, this bloke who's been stabbed up so many times. Fucking hell. Oh, yeah. That one, I fucking shit myself when I woke up. Because I worked in a retail shop and actually the next day I woke up and I looked in the mirror and I was like, pull my T-shirt up and I was like, oh my God. Who's picking these? Are you picking these? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Generally, I obviously had a lot of input. Yeah. but I don't know about like fully, fully picking them, but that one. There's no meaning behind them then now.

17:40That one, no. Do any of your tattoos have a meaning? Not really, brother. Just taxi drivers names and shit. Yeah, good point. Or burning the candle at both ends. I slightly remember like the idea of that one. That's good. Yeah, I like that. I like that. Greg, what's the, I fucking know, this could be anything here. What's the craziest thing to ever happen to you? What's the craziest situation you think you've ever been in? it's gonna have to be just nearly dying a few months ago about a year ago you can't really beat that can you no that's got to be it and I just I feel like a broken record bringing it up all the time you're gonna get crazy than fucking nearly dying do you no no and that is your story and we will get onto that later on so we'll skip that for now what's something that people do that annoys you something that really annoys me that people do exist no he's aiming that at you Steve Thank you again Taking some strays today Aren't I It's just going to be like Trimmed Or is this all fucking No no no We're going to keep you sweating Okay Yeah if anything I'm going to double the pauses To make it even longer Fuck off Do you find you get annoyed easily Like day to day Are you a chill guy I'm pretty chill man Yeah I don't really like people I like people just to live Yeah And I like people to just be happy So I don't generally Even if people do shit They annoy me I'm just like Well I do just think You can watch it enjoying it.

19:04That's so lovely, actually. I get annoyed so easily by the smallest things. I get annoyed by technology. So if my computer turns off for no reason, I want to give it a slap. That's not something people do, though, is it? Well, Steve Jobs made it. He's dead. That's a way of annoying. He can't fix it. He just made some shit. I don't think he personally fixed it every time your Mac broke down. He sends it to Apple. He's got millions there. I'm still sweating everywhere, man. I hate people walking slowly in front of me. or stop them dead when you're walking they just stop dead and you just walk into the back of them do you know what it is I just know there's something like in particular that I hate yeah and I just can't find it well whenever it comes to you call me and we'll add it three years later I'll be running taxi yeah you can FaceTime me let me just let me just ponder on this because I'm not just going to give you anything man I love it I love it some people would just say anything we'll have a little chat then like I don't like it when people walk into me with their umbrella yeah no fuck that I want to find something that really grinds me Robbie hates umbrellas doesn't he yeah Robbie hates a lot of things you we'll have a little chat then Greg how you been yeah I've been alright mate yeah I've been sort of mental health all up and down I can give you an urban legend if I help yeah I'd actually quite like one have you heard of Bloody Mary oh saved by the bell he's like he's like do not tell an urban legend and this is a weird one but do you know at the minute it's obviously because I can't drink anymore like it kind of annoys me when people feel like they can't drink or when they have to like kind of, but I know they're doing it in a nice way.

20:37This is just the only thing I can think of that irritates me at the minute. When like people will be like, oh yeah, like, oh, we'll meet up in the beer garden. I mean, we could maybe go to like the back end of a pub, but it's hard. I don't even want to use the word beer. And I'm like, you know, all that kind of chat, like trying to avoid. Are they worried that they think by putting you in that situation, you're then going to give in? No, no, no. More just like, I've just looking, just looking out for me, I suppose, just trying to be nice. But I'm weirdly finding it annoying because it's making it more of a thing.

21:05Yeah. Do you know what I mean? You don't want to treat it any different. No, no, I want everything just to go as normal, pretend nothing's happened. I'll just have a beer that's not making me feel happy. Yeah, do you still enjoy going to those environments? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I still do. Obviously, I just leave earlier than everyone else. Yeah. But like I say, that's the only thing. I just want everyone to just be like, no, it's cool, it's fine. Yeah. Everything's cool. Fair enough, good answer. He's ready. I can get one ready now. What's this? So, it actually never fucking works, but every guest we've ever had on has asked a question, and then we're going to give you one at random, so it could be from any of our previous guests, and then you're going to submit one at the end as well.

21:41That's how this works. We don't know who it is or who it's from. Might be someone you know or don't know. Example? Well, there's probably half of them in there. It'd be so weird if it says that. Who is it from? Have you ever been told you look like a celebrity? Tim Oliver, a.k.a. Ricky Gervais. That's literally the guy we've had today. Yeah, it's literally the guy. I've broken that. Have I ever been told I look like a celebrity? Who's your celebrity looking like?

22:15I think that's the first time we've had it where the previous... Straight after, yeah. Oh, bro. I'm just full of it. What's annoying is that two fell out and I just picked one of them. Yeah. What do I look like? What do people say I look like? There's one football player, but I can't remember his name. Eden Hazard. There you go. Is that the one? Eden Hazard. I think they might... Why? Have you just decided that on your own? Really? Yeah. Theo, have you just pulled that out of the bag? There are similarities, to be fair. There are similarities. I think there's another one, though. Is he fair? Yeah.

22:51Yeah. Why? I'll tell you what. Samantha. answer. He's good looking. Do you know what? A little bit, yeah. But there's another one as well. Can you think of someone I look like? I'm trying to think of footballers now. Are you a big football fan or not at all? No, I support Forrest but I'm not mad, mad footballer, no. It's a good time to be a Forrest fan as well. Yeah. Window kid lookalike. What's up? The first thing that came up was Ice Spice. Who do people... This is why podcasts wind me up, man. When you're actually sat here you can't think of anything. What do people say I look like? Mash tag Brady People just think We're the same person Half the time I swear to God Because same accent Is he from Nottingham as well?

23:31He's from Derby Down the road Right Oh right So literally We don't know anything like really But people just like People will literally comment Because you know like I'll release a song And Mash tag will do like A mime diversion of it On TikTok Yeah I'll put the actual video Of me Doing the song On like my Instagram For example And someone will put Copy a Mash tag This is Mash tag song And I'm like No it's not this is actually my song and they're like no it's not I've seen it on mash tags and I'm going brother this is my song I'm just saying you know 100 % mine I wrote it I recorded it and then the guy this is the last one he responded saying oh I used to I used to like this song until I realised mash tag didn't make it oh yeah he literally just went oh you made it fuck this song then yeah mate you should just do it back to him and start just doing mad travel vlogs yeah I should do that yeah yeah and then just copyright all of his shit that's my reply I don't think you look like Mashag.

24:24No, no, no. I think it's just white and daft. There's some pictures of you online where you look a little bit true Geordie. Oh, yeah, I've had that one. Yeah? I've had that one. I wouldn't say so now, though. Not now, not now. But there's some old photos. Anyway, you're from Nottingham, we just mentioned. What's the best thing about Nottingham? Stevie and I have been a few times. What's the best thing like growing up there? Best thing about growing up in Notts?

24:51Do you know what bro There's not a lot Going on in Knots Really Is there not We always liked it When we've been there No no Knots is good Yeah We went to that proper old pub And we're throwing a little The old trip Oh the little fucking game That Yeah That That fucking game We were doing that for ages So it's a hoop In it On a string And you have to throw it And there's a horn on the wall Yeah Yeah yeah I'm actually going to try And find a video That maybe you could put in this bro Yeah Because I used to go on a Tuesday And out with my mate Ashley And there was these two old blokes That were always in there and one of them was a magician and one of them thought he was a comedian.

25:21I mean, he is a comedian. And they were both just unbelievable at this game and they used to do like sick shit, like put the little circle on their ear and like flick it off and it would like swing and like land on the table. No. Yeah, it was so sick. That's why I learned a few tricks myself. We couldn't do it. It took us ages to actually get it on. Such a buzz when you get it though. It's a sick game. But yeah, growing up in Knott's, it was just, I don't know. there just wasn't anything particular like I used to go to Forest that was obviously sick very multicultural which is obviously sick like and it just like there's nothing mad that stands out really but in general it's really good like for like restaurants bars what's the best restaurant in Nuts?

26:03so recommend if Stevie and I go there now we want we want the best pub we want the best restaurant and the best club not that we go clubbing anymore but okay what would you give us? okay so restaurant I'll say Raymond's yeah what's that that's like my friend Marcus who just cooks whatever the fuck he wants but it's just unreal all over like barbecue food that's us as well last time I went he just did like these mutton chops and then this like asparagus and then like this like fucking dessert that just tasted like what are them little sweets that old people eat whatever's original exactly yeah them right now but then like ramen and shit like that my cousin's got a place called everyday people that's sick but then pub that old trip to Jerusalem is good old thing a tap house is a good one where you go in and get a card and you put your card in and pour your own beer I've never done that yeah tap house is a really good pub I've heard about that yeah we'll have to do that and then where you end in the night where you going out where we going out where am I going out couple questions home yeah um you can still go nah um I'm just thinking like I don't remember seeing any clubs when we were in Nottingham.

27:18The OG club in Nottingham was... You've got a prism in there. You must have a prism. I don't even know. Stealth was the main club. Was it? We grew up in, yeah. Yeah, Stealth was just fucking so sick. It probably still is, but I'm a bit old for it now. Is that a sticky floor place, is it? Yeah. Yeah. Sticky everywhere place. See, I read online, when I was researching you, it said you're prominent in the Nottingham scene. What does that mean? how can I be prominent in the Nottingham scene? You're not from Nottingham. I suppose. I'll try. I'll start saying words that they say. Eeyop, me duck. Yeah, they do say that.

27:54Sometimes. I think it means I have been making music in Nottingham and made a name for myself. I'm assuming that's what they mean by that. Are you super well known within Nottingham then? I'd say I'm one of the most well known in Notts, yeah? Yeah? I'm trying to think of people we've had on the pod who's from Nottingham. And I know one. I don't know if you're being the same circle. Randolph? Randolph is from Notts, isn't he? Yeah. I always forget he's from Notts. The Pokemon master. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I don't... I feel like he must have moved out of Notts early or something. How old is he?

28:28Probably about our age. Yeah, probably 32. Yeah, I'm 31. Yeah. But the thing is, I don't know anyone who knows him. And I never ever saw him around. And like, when I saw him with the forest cap for the first time, I thought, what the fuck? Why does he support Notts? he's not from Knots yeah right so I don't unless we just never crossed paths or had any mutual friends I don't know because it's quite a small city you normally at least know someone yeah you must be really similar ages as well yeah who else is are there any other creators or online people from Nottingham that we'd know Cal the Dragon I love Cal the Dragon Chef Dave oh wow you got some big boys fucking we're killing it yeah I sent you a Cal the Dragon last night you did him singing what was it Jesse J oh his new one yeah Oh, and he's got a new song, hasn't he, Kyle the Dragon?

29:11Yeah. Have you ever met him? No. I'd love to meet him. No. I want to play football with him. There's another one as well. What's he called? Is it Jack Roworth or something like that? Yes. No idea. Yes. I met him for the first time the other day. What is he like? Evening. Buyers remorse. Buy a new car? I'll be moving in. Let's get started. Sorry, I think there's been a mistake. I bought it from Carvana. You what? Yeah, great price. I even have seven days to love it or return it. So there's no... No, no buyer's remorse. More like buyer's rejoice. I guess I'll let myself out. Congratulations. I mean it.

Power up your movie night and watch Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5, now streaming on Disney Plus, rated PG. He's an enigma to me. I watch every fucking one. Yeah, what does he do? Yeah, I can't really hear what he's saying. and he's just like, yes, Mosh, we can go now, Wetherspoon's Mosh. Yeah, Chubby, get up there, Chubby.

31:05Get up there, Chubby. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you would have seen him and he's just like, always just like drinking on a park bench on his own, right? So when you, like, I'm not going to try and assassinate him because he's obviously like a young kid, right? But he, so he's, one minute he's like drinking, like he's off his face just drinking on a park bench and you watch it and you think, he looks like he's got the bleakest life ever, right? Then the next thing, he's just getting a ticket to like Iraq and he's just going around but he's it's right isn't it and he's just in Iraq but he's just hanging out with like these Iraqi guys and just going around their house and just like he's got the confidence to just go around the world but then another time he's just on a park bench just like hanging out it's weird and then he'll go out and get like brasses and stuff like that won't he yeah he was in Germany like trying to get trying to get a prostitute and that but he looks like about 14 I'll show you I've been yeah it's funny he doesn't come up on my FYP a lot I've just seen him a couple of times I've got friends that love him but I just saw him and I was just like I know you're a little nutcase and I want to get a video but yeah he's fucking sad absolutely sad yeah you'll have to send me it yeah I'll show you Greg I want to test how Nottingham you are I've got some phrases here from Nottingham and I want you to translate them for me tell me what they mean go on Stevie we've done the first one I up my duck that means hello my friend yeah like that as he said as he said out as he said anything nice yeah yeah Geram Yersen no Geram Yersen Geram Yersen go get him yourself Geram like Geram Yersen like you get him are you saying that Geram Yersen I don't know I feel like I'm saying it all Geram Yersen like Geram Yersen get him tabs what are tabs tabs um fags or ears yeah I've got ears on it yeah I think tabs is we all just yeah tabs has always been an ear thing yeah but then I feel like I've heard people call fags tabs nowadays but maybe that's not a Nottingham thing.

32:55How would you, what you'd say, oh, do you like my tabs? I would never ask someone if they like me ears but that if I wanted to see what they felt about my ears, I would ask them that. Would you? Yeah, like the phrase like, if you have like a sour sweet in Nottingham, oh, it makes me tabs laugh. I've never heard that one. Your tabs laugh? Yeah, like if you have like something sour or something like, you'd be like, oh, fuck it, that's making me tabs laugh. That's what it is. Never heard that. That's really cute. What's a bobo? Bobbo? B-O-B-B-O What the fuck is a Bobbo? Apparently it's a horse A Bobbo?

33:31I've never ever heard anyone call anything a Bobbo Well I think we did this one kind of Usainz? Usainz? Is he a terrorist?

33:43Usainz? I thought that was the name of a famous terrorist Usainz? Not Usain Maybe we're saying it wrong Usens So it means Ourselves Usen Oh yeah We do that Usen Usen Usen Usen I thought I was The name of I don't know What are Nobby Greens Nobby Greens Brussels sprouts Nice Are you mashing Nobby Greens Yeah Yeah yeah yeah Never ever heard that Are you mashing Are you mashing Oh cup of tea Are you mashing You're making a cup of tea Yeah Are you mashing Are you mashing This one, I think I knew this one. Mardy. Yeah. Yeah, Mardy's just being a fucking Mardy ass, isn't it? Being Mardy. Bad mood, yeah.

34:29And then Giz a Croggy. Giz a Croggy on the back of the bike. Oh, we'd call that like a seatie. A stunty, I'd call it. Or a stunt, well, it depends if you've got stunt pegs or you're on the seat. They're two different things. Seaty and a stunty, yeah. A Croggy would be stood on the... On the frame. On the pegs. Yeah. Right. Yeah, we'd call that a stunty. What were you like at school? A little Greg at school. Got kicked up. How early? Got kicked out Do you know what? Right towards the end They let me do my exams I just wasn't allowed to be in school for like the most of the last year Right So I was a little bit of a bastard We ask everyone this What's the naughtiest thing you ever did at school?

35:07We've had a whole array of answers I imagine yours might be towards the topper I wonder if it'll compare to the one that's definitely the worst which involved a brick Can't remember that Who was that? Throw a brick at someone Who was that? Doesn't it click right? Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah, that's pretty harsh. He didn't get kicked out either. I think, honestly, I think I might top it. Okay. But not proud of it. Okay. Okay. Not proud of it. Didn't realise how bad it was until like years later, really. Yeah. Called a teacher a paedophile. That's not that bad, is it? Not great for their career, is it?

35:41It's kind of the worst thing you could say, really. In it. I didn't just outright spread rumours. Basically, there was a rule at school where you wasn't allowed to. use your phone if you do the teacher takes the phone off you yeah and then we were i was using my phone on the field on the break and then teachers tried to like come up to me to take the phone and i'm like fuck off you're not having my phone running off and they're like chasing me coming up to me and i'm like go on go away and they put the hand on me and i says get the fuck off you pedo right yeah i saw so i didn't i really didn't mean it and i genuinely apologize yeah i'm not proud of it but that is number one worst thing you can do really bricking someone sounds shit i'd rather be called a pedo than bricked but in a school scenario that was out out the door right out the window kid it was jamie hutchinson oh that makes so much sense doesn't it click right i don't know you're throwing him under the bus there so did the teacher you have to go through like any um like meetings did the teacher that you called a pedo no it wasn't a genuine it was just more like i think it's fine then i think it was more just like oh that's really bad we need to make it make it so no one does that again is that what you got kicked out for yeah they kicked me out yeah that's hard i think that is a bit well do you know what i was already on my last warning anyway loads of other dumb shit are you banned from jet too i'm banned from jet too yeah see i was meant to put myself in a good light and now i'm on this podcast just making out i'm a prick no you're not depends why you're back kicked out of school lifetime banned from jet too like but someone because i put you on my story and said any questions for window kid and two people asked this are you actually yeah yeah yeah yeah can we find can we know what happened yeah yeah yeah um so back again not proud of this he called the pilot pedo

37:24um genuinely not proud of this back when i was like bad on my bad drinking proper i was and i was an alky bro and i was just in greece for like two months and i'd just been off my tits every day not sleeping and at the end of this tour I was doing out there I've literally got up like hanging out my arse fucking getting on the drinks getting on the powder whatever and then like took a load of these lads all to this we met the night before at the show all these young lads took them all to this like restaurant got them loads of drinks got them loads of food got fucking smashed on the shots and everything gone to the airport on my own I'm in the airport I'm fucking just like robbing shit and like just bladder just like completely not me yeah what did you rob from an airport like a bottle of Chanel oh fuck yeah yeah thinking it I don't know what it is bro I lost my mind yeah I even like spoke people who spoke to me on the phone that day the next day were like bro you were a different person that day I was blind drunk yeah right completely and then I was like going into the restaurant just getting bottles of wine down in him grabbing sandwiches eating him smashing bottles on the floor laughing my head off walking around smoking fags in the fucking airport toilets fucking losing my head bro big time not proud of this on my own completely on my own yeah and then I've gone out gone to get on the flight they come off that little bus and as I've got off that bus I've sparked a fag and I'm like walking towards the flight and then the lady was like what the hell are you doing?

38:46I was like it's alright don't worry about it it's fine smoking a fag kind of gone up the stairs a little bit shut the fag off and everyone's like yo bro what the hell are you doing? I'm assuming that could probably blow a plane maybe and then me and then two another woman came up to me and the plane was like oh can I get your passport? and I was like no you can't have a passport no because I just saw a program or saw something like don't give your passport to anyone abroad because they could keep it and then try and charge you or some shit and I was just like no and then three blokes came on two of them fat AK-47s and I was like right fuck and hell obviously just must be for me so they can have my passport yeah so then I've got off the flight they're fucking aiming these guns at me bro and I was like no one's gonna fucking shoot me and I'm like getting the fags out trying to spark one they've like took them off me cuffed me took me in the airport fuck me I know And then they sat me down and I, and then after like a couple of minutes, I literally, my head came back to normal and I thought, what the fuck am I doing?

39:42Bladdered bro. Yeah. Like, and I literally thought I'm a mess. What am I doing with my life here? This is dumb. Yeah. And then, um, the guy who sat me down, he was like, take the cuffs off him. Cause we know he's, he's like, I know you're a good guy. I was like, man, I am. I don't know what I'm doing, isn't it? And then, um, he basically was like, if, cause I was stuttering so much. He was like, if you do one of your songs without stuttering right now to me i'll let you go no he didn't he did no mom's life he did and i went why because i because i was trying to say that i wasn't i was like drunk i was not drunk enough to leave right i was i'm fine now i'm fine can i just go there was like you're not allowed to fly you've got a 24-hour band but i was like i'm fine i can go there was like you're too drunk we can't let you go i was i'm fine and it was like do one of your songs without stuttering i was like bro do one of my songs without stuttering i do that every weekend for a living brother i can do this shit just stood there just fucking did one of my songs and then um not the weirdest crowd you've ever played to yeah yeah yeah one of the smallest yeah and then uh yeah then they escorted me to this fucking hotel and then i tried to book a room but i booked it for the day after by accident and i've gone back to the airport slept on a bench outside the airport it was bad got back to the uk letter in the post um abusing staff didn't do smoking on a plane didn't do they just tried to like exaggerate everything yeah yeah and um yeah when was this lifetime jack tuba uh a couple years ago now right fucking hell yeah right so let's take it back to um you obviously your music's flying at the moment yeah yeah everywhere on tiktok everywhere what's uh oh almost what's the um when did you first start making music were you at school yeah uh well i've like actually recording songs i didn't start till i was like maybe 21 22 but just like spitting lyrics with just like friends and like going on to like little radio shows and things like that yeah just like shit like spitting outside fucking venues and shit do you know i mean just like i was doing that from when i was like 14 but actually going yo let's go record a song i didn't actually do that till i was like 20 or something really what was your first song?

41:51It was called Ben Stiller. Was it? Yeah. Has that stood the test of time? That was more just like a SoundCloud song that just went up. I don't even know if it's still up to be honest with you. That was more just like chuck it on SoundCloud but the first big song I made was called Ryanair. That was like the second song I ever made so it's kind of my first main song was called Ryanair. Is that because you got banned from Jet 2 and you were trying to get someone's good books? No, that was way before, man. But yeah, and that one did really well that has to the success of time that one got straight into the iTunes charts and fucking that one was really good for me and I can still play it now and everyone still knows oh really yeah we made a few tunes didn't we Ben what was your band called we did oh god what did we do now we did Hip To Be A Hipster Hip To Be A Hipster yeah what do I remember that pretty big at the time yeah I remember this number one on iTunes comedy chart yeah okay and then since then made a few songs about Jeremy Lynch that was one about the F2 dating game about Badu that's a brand deal yeah I've dabbled yeah nice I kind of need to I want to remind myself of him now because I can I recognise a couple honestly you don't not good you don't what's the motivation then about getting into music did you have any family members that are into it did you just like rap from early on do you know what my family all love music like everybody loves music my non-or and my grandad were actually in a band together really yeah they met in a band my non-or was a singer and my granddad played the violin and the saxophone.

43:21That's cool. What were we saying on the way up here? On the way here, we said saxophone would be probably the coolest instrument. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's what my granddad played. We've still got it. I've still got his saxophone. So what was the kind of music? Just like, I don't know, really. Just like that music, what you've probably imagined in your head right now. I don't know what it's called. Old music. At the time, it was current music. But it literally is just like a family, like my brother's mad into like fucking Motown and shit. And he used to have his own radio show in Liverpool.

43:53Like he knows everything about all of them. My dad used to literally like in the car, he'd play any song, like a beautiful South song or the Smiths or whatever. And literally stopped the song and go, did you hear what he said? And I'm like, in the back, like what? And he's like, listen to the lyric. And he'd like play the lyrics. And my, my mommy's just, just loves music as well. Everyone just loves music, bro. My family. I love that. I love that. My earliest memories of music is my dad playing original pirate material in the car. Cold. Yeah, it'd take me to Sunday League every single game. And he would do the same thing.

44:25He'd stop and tell me about the lyrics. Sick. Yeah, yeah, yeah. My dad did that with Eminem's show as well. That's quality. Yeah. It's funny because I love the streets. One of my favorite, like, Grand Don't Come For Free, original pirate material. Probably two albums that are in my top five of all time. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was watching you on the Low IQ podcast right this morning when I was in the gym on the treadmill and I was listening to it see if I could pick up any last minute bits about you and Jack and Cole I know what you're going to say yeah who we rate by the way they're friends of ours but fuck what are you talking what are them boys on about they'd never heard of Mike Skinner I know you put Mike Skinner down as one of the best rappers of all time didn't you because you said that you don't listen to American rappers that much I'm exactly the same so you put Mike Skinner and I was buzzing when I heard that on the treadmill and they didn't know who he was and I was surprised and they're my boys as well yeah I was very surprised it's weird to not even know who Mike Skinner is I know but even when I said the streets that's even weirder yeah it's mad so when you make music what's the motivating factor for you is it the lyrics is it the sound is it knowing you're going to perform that on a stage what's the drive for you good question brother to be honest with you I'm a bit erratic when it comes to making music of like what I'm going to make Like I've got some like chilled garage songs that are literally just like, I know people are going to enjoy playing in the car.

45:47And then I'll like make like a fucking mad drum and bass song. Like I've got one coming out with boo called put that kettle on that. I know it's just purely for performance. Like I wouldn't even sit and bang that in my headphones and just sit on the bus. Yeah. Like I know that's a rave tune. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Yeah. But then, then I make songs right down the middle. So to be fair with you, bro, it's generally, it's just whatever I'm feeling on that day. Right. Some days I just, I don't like, I've always said like, I don't actually write music very often. It's more just like a feeling.

46:15And if I feel it and I've got the right beat, I'll make something. I could go and force something and it'll rhyme. But actually making a song, it doesn't happen that often. Does it not? No. So when you do sit down and write, what's your process? Are you, the lyrics come to you on your day to day? Or do you literally sit there and put time away to write? Very, very rarely will I sit down and go, I'm going to write a song because that just doesn't, just never works. like when I was a kid and I used to write bars that's exactly how I would do it but now it all just feels too forced and it's more day to day shit like something will happen and I'll think oh yeah this this okay that's cool and then like my brain will just start writing it's almost like a feeling it's not like I'm going right I want to say this then I want to say that then I want to say that it's almost like someone in my brain is just writing these lyrics for me and then like Do you then need to write it down in your notes or do voice notes?

47:03Not very often normally I can just remember everything straight away Oh wow Really? Yeah that was like a weird thing I used to have when I was younger and used to go on radio in that in nottingham like everyone used to think it was mad because i could just like turn up because people have the phones or written down lyrics and shit and i just i can always remember them straight away like they were all just written down in my head that's the only thing i can remember though i'm fucking useless otherwise i when i when i was younger like i'm not from a background that particularly like the streets is probably the most rap i'll ever listen to right so i'm i used to listen uh watch like the old f64s on sp tv and stuff but i couldn't tell you like what was good and what is bad what's a good flow what's a bad flow i would i was drawn i might my background's like comedy i love humor and i think that's why when i saw your clip come up because now where i'm at now at 32 if i see like a fire in the booth come up i'm not really gonna click on it it's not really my thing so i was unless it's someone massive like wretch or something like that see you come up and i remember fiona was in the kitchen i actually went down to show her and i was like check this guy like and i yeah honestly do you remember that i sent it to you i was drawn to it because you were making me laugh oh nice we're good so has humor is that a thing that's important to you or like have you got background in not saying you stand up but you've got background in comedy you're a big comedy fan i'm a massive comedy fan like kind of like everyone is i suppose i never ever like thought oh i want to make songs that are funny right it all it all just came kind of like it just that's just how i how it is do you know i mean yeah like like people used to like compare me to elro and stuff like yeah yeah i love that yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah.

48:37And that's a compliment, 100%, because he's a genius. But I never, ever think, oh, yeah, I want to... Even when I was younger, it wasn't like, oh, yeah, I want to write some lyrics that everyone's going to find funny. I think just whenever I was writing, shit, just, I don't know. It's the only things I can think of when I'm writing. Just relatable stuff. Yes, relatable. I don't really know, G. Like I say, someone in there is writing it, bro. Don't ask me. I don't know. Funny lyrics feel quite smart and witty as well, though, don't they? It doesn't just feel like you're trying to be funny. it feels like there's more to it than just writing a song yeah yeah I think that's why I like the streets so much because it's like sometimes it's like he's not even he's not even rapping he's just talking to you about his day yeah that's it that's how I've always wanted it to be I wanted it to be always laid back and just like you say relatable and yeah nice quality our friend Dan Greengrass he asked me he wants me to ask this question he says did you actually lose a cardigan yeah You did?

49:34Yeah, all my songs are pretty factual. Are they? Yeah. I lost a cardigan. It was a purple and black needles mohair cardigan with a little bag of listen in the pocket. And I was pissed off. And I did get barred from that bar. Did you? Yeah. It was a separate time, but I was barred from that bar, yeah. And another thing when I was researching you, it came up, and my research can be a bit dodgy at times, but it came up saying saying that you've got an anti-Christmas tune called Violent Fight right so why do you hate Christmas no no no no I don't hate Christmas it's just I've just said a minute ago I don't deliberately try and write funny songs this was the one I deliberately tried to write which was funny right right we just me and my mate Zero just thought I think one day I just realised that Silent Night and Violent Fight rhymes and then next thing you know like it just it just started and we thought we'd try and write christmas song and it is good and i do quite like it but sometimes i listen back and i'm like what the fuck is this best christmas film ever best christmas film ever yeah uh jingle all the way or jack frost the one the one with um thingy michael keaton always up there love it massively i'm a grinch or elf actually i can't do elf can't do elf can't do elf i'm not trying to just have be like oh look at me I've got an edgy different take I've said this since day one I cannot get behind Will Ferrell what the fuck mate I can't bro do you know what's mad what and I don't want to fall out what maybe maybe he's in my top three actors of all time I can't do it I was going to say maybe number one but that's obviously not true who are the other men Denzel 100 % I don't know I just know that Denzel is my favourite like actual actor of all time and Will Ferrell is by far my favourite comedic actor of all time I cannot get, I watch it and everyone is obsessed with Will Ferrell and I can't get it.

51:30I don't get it. You don't get it. It doesn't hit me. It doesn't make me, it doesn't make me laugh. I actually genuinely feel bad for you, bro. Honestly, man, because like, all my mates and like, everyone like, just for like, they're moments of these clips from different films and we can just watch them over and over and over again. Mate, no, I can't. And the thing is like, whenever, you know that meme where like, it's the animation thing, the cartoon thing and it's the person holding up like a hundred swords to someone and it's like, what opinion gets you like this? You know, it's like, yeah, that one.

51:59So my one, I always put, I just don't get Will Ferrell. I'm not trying to offend, but people come at me like I've just said. I've heard a couple other people say it, so it obviously must be a thing, but I just find that mental. What's your take on Will Ferrell? Not for me. Oh, wow. Maybe that's for my friends. It feels, but it's stupid, because in my head, Will Ferrell feels a bit like fart humour, but then I feel like this podcast is, so I don't know why I can't. I'm the kind of person that would sit on my high horse and go Will Ferrell makes wank jokes and then we sit here and make wank jokes the whole time so I should get it I don't know because it's genuinely that funny that I can't understand how someone can't find it so I don't know what to tell you brother I'm going to go one step further maybe you need to go to therapy what?

52:40Stepbrothers is shit right then well it's been good take care boys that's it get your fucking little balls and your thing fucked up what do you think for stepbrothers? I don't know is there any other exit bro what's wrong with you man do you like the hangover films the hangover yeah that pisses all over Will Ferrell what oh my god no I don't right there's lesser films let's go back to back to your music you've been doing it for how long now erm what I've been fucking doing it how long have you been taking it like serious How long have you been like? Probably since I was about, probably over 10 years now.

53:29Over 10 years. And has there been a moment, I'm sure there has, where everything changed, where it's like you had a boom or a big peak and what caused that? Do you know what, bro? It's genuinely been a really nice, slow, gradual build, if I'm honest with you. And that's been quite preferable because a lot of artists can go bang and then have to drop. Yeah, the drop off's as quick as to come up, isn't it? Yeah. If you can build over. So I've slowly just been building and then you're having like quite big jumps here and there. Like the Cardigan song did really well. Like when the baseline scene came back back in the day and we were making it right at the same time and that blew up, that really fucking did a lot for us.

54:03Yeah. And then like, even like since I stopped drinking and come back like kind of like all fucking, I was going to say all healthy. I won't go as far as that healthy. Just like, I don't know, like a new version of me making music again. And there's just all these like little, little jumps, man. But like I say, I'm just doing this tour. I didn't tell you about the tour actually I'm doing 13 dates Yeah All on my own All across the UK And so that's like the biggest thing by far yet So now is like a big moment for me Worst quality What's the closest you're coming to Norwich then? I don't know If you're doing Ipswich and not Norwich We're just going to cut the podcast I bet you I'm not doing fucking Ipswich Don't do Ipswich Cambridge?

54:43Cambridge No offence to Ipswich No I'm doing all the normal places man Fuck me Norwich is Not big enough city for you We're a big city I'm joking brother It's just a pain to get to, isn't it? Norwich is a pain to get to. A11, load of roadkill. Let's have a look. Doing Bristol, Cardiff, London, Brighton, Leicester, Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham. Nowhere near it. Nothing, no. It'll be Birmingham. Well, where are you doing in Bristol? Stevie's Ends is Bristol. I lived there for eight years. Oh, the fleece. Oh, I love the fleece. You used to go there every Friday night.

55:17I'm going to Australia just after. Is that any closer? That's Norwich. Something so sassy, that. He's just giving me closer for you. Just drop that in. What's it been like? Because you're good friends with Mashtag, right? And obviously he's blown up massively at the moment. He's got a bit of weight, but... Has he helped at all in your music scene? I think him kind of doing all the miming things to my songs has definitely helped out a lot. Well, his songs. his songs that I keep fucking fraudulently taking off him do you know like the fucking mum said what'd you do at the weekend did you hear that song that one was the first one he started doing and then everyone thought it was him but that blew the song up right so were you friends with him before that then I've known him for ages yeah like we always say this we don't know remember how we fully met it was during like it was through TikTok kinda right but similar ends probably a couple friends crossover and we I don't know I've just got some of the old videos I've got of me and him in my phone like just like naked on the beach getting blooded in these random cities I'm like when was that and where is that like is it UK based like fucking so yeah I've known him for time we'll just call him a how right right what's he like then what's he like away from the screen everyone's intrigued by him at the moment Mashtag Mashtag is he's genuinely a really nice guy yeah he's like is I don't know because he doesn't put on a character online because that is him it's just slightly emphasised but he does have a really caring and he's a clever guy he's like as you all know he's obviously taken over the whole fucking social media game we all know he's clever but he is fucking he knows what he's doing man he's always on to the next thing like he started this vlogging thing I've followed him doing that a lot of people followed him doing that what do you think it is about his vlogs that people love because people have vlogged on YouTube for years and then the vlogging, do you remember Shay Carl and stuff like that, Shay Tards?

57:28Vlogging every day. I remember when I first got into YouTube it was only vloggers I used to watch and then vlogs fell off a cliff no one did them. Then he came back maybe two years ago, a year and a half ago and they've boomed. What do you think it is as his friend that people seem to get from that? Who knows? No, I think like all things once they go big for a bit they die off and they come back I think he could have just been a really good start of bringing the wave back at a perfect time where TikTok was getting a little bit sickly and it was all just the same same old shit over and over again and the mash tag just took it long form onto YouTube and no one had done it for a while and obviously he's a comfortable watch isn't he he's just one of them like sit and have your dinner it just I don't know just all arrows pointed at fucking this is gonna work when you think of the travels and the and the stuff that you've done with him if i asked after you to think of a moment what comes into your head as best moment worst moment maddest moment where does your brain go you're what have me and myself done hi there i am fully charged and here to tell you toy story 5 is now on disney plus it's been too long cowboy woody buzz and jesse are back for a brand new adventure with some seriously cool new tech.

59:54ZocDoc, ready to be seen? I did love it when we went camping, because it was when I first come out of hospital, and I was still unwell, and I didn't know where I was going to go in my life. I was kind of tripping out. I'm in a bit of an identity crisis. like and he literally was just like bro me and you go camping we'll do a vlog and like even like when we did the golf vlog i knew that was mash tag being like i know greg can't do is what he normally does getting pissed so let me come and fucking do some stuff with him and i know deep down that was him trying to give me a hand and also just be a good friend to just go and have some fun with yeah so i think the the camping and that was like it was fun as fucking good content but i know it came from a good place when he came up with them ideas yeah no that's cool um but the worst thing probably me and him naked on the beach i'm sure there's one video of me pissing onto his head i think there's i'm pretty sure there's a video in my phone of me pissing on his head yeah so maybe we'll put that down fair enough you you mentioned it there about you you being ill and i know you've told the story loads of times and stuff like that but i think there'll be some of our listeners that are probably just discovering you today falling in love with you and and your character and what you're all about so can we talk about that then yeah yeah yeah if you know yeah um and that was another reason that struck me because that um when i first discovered you in the firing the booth thing you talk about it quite openly and in that don't you i'm pretty sure yeah yeah yeah yeah so what happened then you're a big boozer would you say you're an alcoholic uh i think i think yes you would yeah it was i i could feel i was hard to figure out but i looking back yeah i was pretty dependent on it and i was drinking i was drinking every day for years so i think i'll have to just say yeah right okay what every single day yeah yeah yeah really yeah so what how much a day would you say anything from a few pints to a couple fucking bottles of like voddy or whatever just like it was just like i was basically at least tipsy for years would that be no matter what you were doing or just because you were so busy and doing things no even when i went busy i was just doing it i was just like because i'd because i'd have shows at the weekend and nothing to do in the week.

1:02:01I was generally just like getting up and just going straight to the pub and just drinking, basically. And even in lockdown, I was drinking like in the night sometimes and shit. Really? Yeah, it was pretty... What, like waking up in the middle of the night and drinking? Yeah, a couple of times. I had like waves of it getting like worse and better and worse and better. And then like towards the end, it got really, really bad. And that's when I got ill, got pancreatitis. Did you know when you was in the heat of it, like say when you was in lockdown and you was waking up in the middle of the night and drinking did you were you aware it was it was bad or were you blocking it out i was i was definitely aware it was bad i just i just always thought oh it's a that this is a bad phase i just kept thinking like when it was like that i remember just thinking oh well it's lockdown isn't it like everyone's drinking i'm just feeling really really anxious right now because i've been drinking and do and just doing too much like getting on the whatever yeah and i would just be thinking yeah i'll just drink that now because i know i feel better right this is a phase it's fine was it drugs every day as well then no not every day probably like a few times a week though fucking you must have spent loads yeah i did yeah but we're going to all that but what what what what were you what where were you working at the time uh that was well that was that was like lockdown but i was working in retail before that how can you and sorry for like the questions because i was intrigued to know but how how can you work drunk I couldn't wrap my head around no no no so that I was drinking that was like after I'd finished work so I started lockdown basically that's when it all started to get really bad before that it was just drinking after work and when I do my shows because obviously when I'm at my shows that's also work and I was drinking there would you not be getting hangovers?

1:03:36like how did you feel when you weren't drunk? that's what I'm saying bro I'd basically just drink every day consistent yeah yeah yeah I was very consistent I had to be consistent brother laughing because I'm For me, I'm someone that I can go like a couple of weeks without drinking. But when I do drink, I'm like excessive. I'll drink all the way through the night into the next day. Yeah, yeah. So it's just like everyone has different. I've never been someone that would drink every day. Do you know what I mean? When I do that and I'll go like do a whole weekend just drinking, then I find that the hangovers last in like three, four days now, especially the older I get.

1:04:12I know. Well, that's the thing. I was doing the same at the weekends, like Friday up all night, Saturday up all night. and then Sunday I'd have a few because I'm feeling shit and then Monday I'm still feeling shit I have a few Tuesday I might end up I end up on a big sesh again Wednesday I have a few because I'm feeling shit and then Thursday comes out Friday same again and then it just next thing you know years went by of just like literally I probably had like I reckon three sober days in about four years fucking hell swear to god bro shit and then it all come crashing down when you got pancreatitis yeah one day yeah pancreatitis one day my my stomach just fucking my pancreas just basically just burnt and like just fucking nearly died and then where were you at the time what was I'd just come back from Greece again Greece does some it's got a grudge on me man I literally just come back from Greece and I'd been drinking loads out there and then I remember I went to the England game not to it but I was watching it and then I'd come home what game were the Euros it was the final no it was the last England game of the Euros that we were in in Spain I wasn't no I'm not saying I went to it I'm saying I watched it oh yeah yeah yeah but was that that was the final was it was it yeah I can't remember now yeah probably drunk yeah right but yeah anyway I'd watched that and then fucking I remember laying down in my bed and like in Leeds lived in Leeds at the time my stomach just went mad and then I swelled up I went pale I was throwing up blood and then fucking they had to get an ambulance because I was literally screaming in pain and then they took me in and put me under for a few days and then I woke up and there was like very good chance he's going to die and then fucking and I was in there for like I think I can't remember I would get mixed up now maybe like nearly a month I was in there fucking hell a month yeah yeah yeah I think it was like three and a half weeks was there anything leading up to it or was it just that one day it just suddenly all happened do you know what bro I was getting I was getting back pains for years and it was always when I was hung over but I just for some reason I never like I never like put them together but I just always thought oh I've been out on a mad one like my back's hurting and I used to just like kind of like try and stretch it in my bed but some days it'd be so bad and then when I was in hospital when I was like in and out of like whether I'm going to fucking make it or not like I was just just having tests and taking drugs and do you know what I mean I was getting the same pain but way worse and it was like yeah you've probably been getting them pains for ages because your pancreas has been kicking off and I just thought it was fucking back pain what was it all over your back no just like right in the middle because that's where it is wow so then yeah so technically I was probably having symptoms for ages but I just thought it was backache but it had to have been it because it was the same pain but way worse and then obviously since that you've not had the back pain no nothing so who were you with that night when you started throwing up blood I was with my ex Emma right and so fucking hell that must have been scary and then so did she go to the hospital with you I can't remember now because what like how there must have been someone there because you went under didn't you for free you said they put you under so who came up and like who was there for you at the moment?

1:07:18Fucking hell. It was genuinely hard to remember because I was in and out. But my mum, do you know what? My mum was ringing the hospital and they were putting my mum on sometimes. But literally, for the first like week and a half of me being in there, bro, it was just in and out of sleep, in and out of, like, I don't really know what was going on. I can't remember who was there and who wasn't. When did you realise how bad it was, how serious it was? Because obviously, when you go in, you don't know what's wrong, do you? you know you ain't got a clue so when did you do you remember that moment when you thought oh shit so when I finally came round and I genuinely can't remember if anyone had came to visit or if there was no point I just can't remember but when I woke up and they basically said what it is but like I say I was on that many pain killers but I'm struggling to remember any of it but I remember like standing up and them having to like hold me because like I thought I was going to be able to walk but I couldn't properly took me to the toilet and I remember getting my cock out and then just pissing pure blood.

1:08:15And that's when I thought, oh, fuck. And I remember that moment thinking, shit. And that's when it kind of clicked. And I thought, blood there, blood there, blood there. Can't stay awake. Fucking looking at like, and my brother basically said, like what I've got, four out of five people are going to die. And I was just in the hospital like, oh, shit, I'm gone. I think I'm going. Fuck. Yeah. So that was like when I was like, I genuinely thought, yeah. I didn't believe I was going to die but I thought this is a potential yeah how did that feel like is it again again weirdly bro can't overly remember I must have just been on that much I can't over remember I remember just like when I the bits I can remember is probably just being on loads of morphine and just being happy and like laying outside on the grass fire fire yeah yeah I was just trying to make a laugh out of it bro just like don't know Like just, when the family came to see me, I'd always just feel like, bro, I'm fucking fine.

1:09:14Chill out. Yeah. And then turns out I was, I was like, I told you. And when, and when the doctors told you, you can't, did they say you can't ever drink again? Yeah. Right. And was that, that must've been hard for you as somebody who's from that lifestyle and enjoys it so much. Were you, were you in the, did? Well, the thing is with alcohol, and this is why I always kind of like bat around the word alcoholic, cause it was, cause it's quite a harsh word. And also like, it wasn't just like, oh I love just being drunk I love different beers like all the different craft beers and shit I love different wines natural wines my stepdad like gets me on the whiskey a little bit like I love socialising I love everything about it like it wasn't just like oh I'm an alcoholic that wants to be drunk all the time like I genuinely like I enjoyed it yeah the culture of it as well enjoy the culture yeah yeah yeah like a lot of my music was about it do you know what I mean so when they said it it wasn't just a case of like oh fuck I can't have my fix it wasn't that it was just it was more like fuck that's like one of the funnest things out there like right and also it's what my image is and what my music is and yeah so it wasn't so much like i'm a crackhead no and you know what i mean yeah that's not how it is like i just kind of just took it too far from it's you're not missing that that that's kind of like physical dependence of like drink the drink but it's the the social aspect and the whole world around it yeah yeah because because nowadays it's it's kind of changing a little bit, but it feels weirder to not drink at all than to be an over drinker.

1:10:41Right. I feel like. But I think now, because you said that was what your image was, the drinking and stuff like that. I've only gotten to your stuff recently. So like, who the fuck am I to analyse? But from my point of view, I think now your image is, not only do you talk openly about what you've been through and stuff like that, but your image is like, you seem like from my point of view, and it's easy to portray it however, whatever online, but you seem like someone who's having fun and getting involved in that lifestyle and you've still got all your same boys around you and still the same parties but you're not you're not drinking and that's quite admirable because I think there are a lot of people who watch and I've definitely been there as well where I've gone in a bit of a binge for like not to not to that extent but where I've gone a bit a bit of a binge and I thought how can I be that guy that goes out and enjoys life and does those things when I see your clips and your stories and stuff and you seem to be that i think a lot of people take a lot from that oh thanks bro so i think appreciate that man are you are you happy yeah yeah i'm happy bro and i've had and i've had quite a lot of messages of people saying the same as what you've just said yeah and like especially when you see that isaac hp did a documentary yeah i've not watched it yet but i've seen i've seen it yeah and like all the comments stuff like that like i've been mental like yeah apparently it's helped so many fucking people yeah so i like i said i didn't like i didn't know how to go about this whole life change I didn't want to like start preaching I didn't want to like make anyone feel any way I just wanted if I'm going to talk about it if it's going to help then let's fucking go I just want to talk a last bit on that before we get to Isaac because you're still in that world that's rife with partying and drugs and your people around you are still going to be doing that and why should they not if that's what they want to do but is that hard for you now or have you come to terms with it still coming to well it's just it's just as simple as like who doesn't have a drink when you go to a fucking do do you know what I mean so I'm still kind of getting used to it I still have mad cravings I do some days just wake up angry and just think fuck save why do I like I want to have a drink today and in a couple days I've had to fight myself big time where I thought I'm going to sneak off and have like five pints haven't never but like so I do fight it a little bit but then like I went to my friend's a wedding the other day and literally it was the best day ever didn't think about a drink all day because it was just so so good so yeah i'm definitely getting used to it still have off days like family barbecues where everyone's having a drink and i'm kind of sat there and like during conversations just start to get a bit more pissy yeah and a bit do you know what i mean i'm not getting any more pissy yeah i'm getting a bit more pissed off do you know what i mean so it's just finding that do you find it annoying to be around drunk people now um they are a bit annoying yeah so i tried to think what the fuck i was like on that plane jet too so sorry jet too are there are there any other lasting effects other than not being able to drink do you ever feel anything from the pancreatitis so basically they've had they have said to me like when they chat to me the dieticians and stuff they're like so how much pain are you in and i'm like none and they're like right and um your appetite and assuming my appetite's gonna be bad i'm like i'm not in any pain and i'm eating fucking better and then and they're like and they're like oh right well they're like count yourself extremely lucky then so i seem to be all right like i've had times recently well i've had times where i think i'm fine and then i end up in hospital for a month but as it stands right now i haven't been in hospital for like two three months now right and i'm genuinely i'm blessed i'm a no i'm in no pain i'm eating fucking whatever what is it supposed to change your appetite is it it's meant basically they said when you have necrotizing pancreatitis,

1:14:25alcoholic necrotizing pancreatitis, whatever the fuck it's called. Sounds like a fucking spell. They say that a lot of people will have pain all day, every day for the rest of their life and live on painkillers and that will mess with their appetite and they'll just have a messed up life because it's so bad. And for some reason, bro, I'm all right. There you go, you take that. I know. You take that. You mentioned Isaac there. He's been on the show. he's a funny guy he's a nice guy and he's so it baffled me you see his TikToks and they're fucking stupid right and they are they're dumb but then he goes one day he's gone I'm going to make documentaries you think how the fuck is this kid going to make documentaries they're brilliant as well bro I wish genuinely wish he'd seen it before I came because bro you would literally you'd be chatting so much about it right now everyone's been blown away by it if I was good at my job I would have watched it wouldn't I but that's not me saying it like oh everyone's blown away because I'm a fucking G and it's about me.

1:15:19That's not me saying that. I'm blown away by how well they've done it. Right. Like it's literally, they've done it so well. I didn't realise what they were kind of doing. They just says, we want to do a documentary on you. Can we come to Knots? And I was like, yeah. Had you seen his previous ones? Yeah. I saw him do one on like, like obviously just like kind of like. Done Bevo, ain't he? Yeah. Just like kind of weird white TikTokers. Yeah. And I thought, right, am I just the next weird white TikTok? You know what I mean? Like that was basically like in it. Yeah. Yeah. he did that the guy who raps yeah not say he because he's a talented guy I don't want to call him weird do you know what I mean like slightly obscure people unusual people I think that is his vibe isn't it yeah so I just kind of thought right I'm next and I just said fuck it why not I'm not bothered come film me that is what it is how long were they with you for like three four days yeah but then like as time went on as doing it it I was it started to get like some of those emotional points and like my family and like I'm crying and fucking and then there was like just keep going like trust us trust us and now like everybody's been chatting to me about it.

1:16:19Like everybody's cried watching it. It's such a nice thing, what they've done. It's like sad, but also happy. How does he pull tears out of you? Are you an emotional person anyway? What did he do to make that happen? I'm definitely a bit emotional, bro. Probably more over the past couple of years. Like I've got no fucking shield anymore. I'm just fucking me. Just raw dogging, bro. So, do you know what it was? He was asking me questions about like stuff that, like talking about my family, like even now it gets me a bit like how I feel like I've fucked up bad because obviously when I was in hospital and they were having to come and see me in the house scared they were and that upsets me every time when I think about that because obviously like it's what it is.

1:17:00I've done what I did and if I had to fucking die or if I had to deal with the consequences it's what it is. But I didn't want to put my family through anything. Do you know what I mean? That was what fucked me up. Like I say, I've only known you, I don't know you, but I've only seen your stuff recently. but this version of you now I think like I see the numbers on your stuff people are loving you I think this is the actual fucking best version of you right now you could have gone the other way you could have literally gone the other way and gone fuck it I'm gonna I like that I like drinking they're telling me I can't fuck them and then it would have been liked but the way you sort of handle yourself and the message that you preach I think it's quality mate oh thanks man thank you bro because I don't want to start fucking telling anyone stop do you think no you don't preach but you're kind of preaching the healthy living just by being you like yeah i see how happy you are and the situations you're in i'm like i want to do that why do i need to have a drink so i just went to glastonbury i just like first two days i drank way too much end up passing out get sunstroke like yeah just like and i'm like fuck i've just ruined the last two days of a festival did it mess you up bad as well it messed me up did it and then so it's just like i just want to be able to enjoy life so it's over so that's why you're an inspiration to me oh thanks brother i really appreciate your words man and I am on a bit of a mission myself to prove it to myself as well like I'm not all the way there yet so obviously on my YouTube channel The Window Kid Show I'm going to be just vlogging and kind of just going about life and seeing what we can do without getting bladdered I suppose I'll be tuning in before we let you go mate I was having a little scroll through your tweets I haven't been on Twitter in fucking years this is why I like this because I've got how many we got here 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 10 I've got 10 tweets here Oh my God.

1:18:42I don't like the sound of this poem. And I've blanked some words. I want to see how much you remember of your old tweets. Okay. There's some funny ones. Oh, all right. That's good. Rapper, MC and viral sensation Greg AKA Window Kid needs to be on your radar. He sets the record straight about the origin of his stage name, chats incorporating humour in his lyrics, and shares what chaotic pal Mashtag Brady is actually like off camera.

From being kicked out of school (Stevie was horrified at the reason, Jaack didn’t think it was too bad), to earning himself a lifetime ban from Jet2 airlines, Window Kid dives into the unpredictable path that took him from troublemaker to touring the UK.

Greg gets brutally honest about his struggles with alcoholism and drugs, and the hospitalisation that forced him to rethink everything. After peeing blood and being diagnosed with life-threatening pancreatitis, he’s now one year sober and shares how addiction has permanently changed his life.

We also play a game “Fill In The Blank” with his bizarre old tweets, learn some Nottingham lingo, and FaceTime a taxi driver who once gave him a lift years ago. It’s also the second time that a guest has walked out of the studio, but unlike the PieFace prank on Stevie, this time it’s something that Jaack said…

The pre-sale tickets for Window Kid’s UK tour has completely sold out, but join the waiting list for general sale ticket launch on Friday!
