In short
The episode is a conversation with Zack Wilson, founder of The Fifth Orchard, about his transformation from a chaotic, drug-and-party-filled youth into a “shamanic diet” and exotic-fruit expert. The hosts also taste multiple rare fruits and discuss their purported health/ceremonial benefits, including the mangosteen.
Guest backgrounds
Zack Wilson is from Maidstone, Kent. He describes a difficult upbringing shaped by Freeman-Sheldon syndrome (a rare tendon/jaw condition) and bullying/insults, plus a childhood of frequent injuries from sports and scooter stunts. He later moved into partying: raves, weed, pills, fights/brawls, illegal behavior, hospital stays, broken bones, and a car crash. After a traumatic period, he sought shamanic healing and says it “reborn” him.
Key claims
Zack credits shamanic healing (including ayahuasca and “poison frog” medicine injected into his arm) with changing his life. He claims fruit has energetic/metaphysical properties and that his diet—lots of fruit/veg, chicken/fish, sweet potato, and olive oil—has “changed his life entirely.” He avoids discussing “frequencies” too directly, saying he balances spiritual ideas with basic science (e.g., magnesium calming effects).
Notable examples
Mangosteen is presented as the fruit that “started this whole journey,” described as used ceremonially in Southeast Asia and containing a rare antioxidant. Fruit tastings mentioned include dragon fruit, sprouted coconut, and “mango steam.”

I knew you were going to make it about spunk. Is that what you thought? No. Oh, that's where my brain went. In front of us, you will see some of the rarest and most exotic fruits in the world. Because today on the podcast, we have a man called Zack Wilson from a company called The Fifth Orchard who buy and sell exotic fruit. We tried dragon fruit. We tried the sprouted coconut. We tried mango steam. There's lots of rare fruits that can give different benefits and stuff like that.
0:38And we learn all about them today, don't we? I think I like fruit now. I've never been a fruit man, but I'm a fruit man now. This has got some liquid in. You're a mess. Yeah, it's gone all down my chin. Again, it's a bit sounds spunky, doesn't it? But anyway, Zach reached out to me a couple of weeks ago, offered me a free box of fruit, which was very kind. me and fiona indulged in his offer and feasted on many fruits and i got chatting to zach just on the dms and stuff and found out that he had an incredibly crazy upbringing and uh lifestyle uh he's very open and raw in this interview he's your everyday fella that you'll see on the street who's been through mountains and mountains of stuff so from partying and the rave scene and drug addictions he got himself in with the wrong crowd from early on got in a lot of fights uh a lot of brawls been in and out of the hospital in and out of hospital broke bones crashed his car done a lot of things that are illegal and considered bad and are bad uh but after a really really traumatic time in his life uh which you'll find out about in towards the second half of this episode uh zach booked himself in to see a shamanic healer yeah he saw a shaman he had some poison frog stuff in his arm.
1:57You've got the ayahuasca stuff and all the medicine that you get off the back of a toad and he injected it in his arm and was in a room with a shaman. You're going to hear all about a shaman and it completely changed his life. He was reborn and he discovered the power of the fruit. So I'm going to be honest, it's one of our more unusual episodes, isn't it? It's unusual, but it's a crazy life story. Really, really interesting. And he brought in a load of fruit for us to try. so we've done alright out of that. A couple of months ago we had Dominic Milton Trott on who's an expert of recreational drugs.
2:33Loads of people love the episode. So today, why not flip it and we'll go from recreational drugs to natural drugs. Drugs of the earth. The seeds. The fruit. Enjoy it. This is Zach Wilson. Master of the fruit? The fifth orchard. Expert of the fruit. Expert of the fruit. Master of the fruit. Like it's a teenage mutant ninja turtle. 5:08Jack Mate's Happy Hour. Hello guys, and welcome back to Jack Mate's Happy Hour podcast. It's me, Jack Mate, to my left is Stevie White. I'm feeling good today. How are you feeling? Yeah, why are you feeling so good? I'm going to a little gig later. A little indie band no one's heard of. Yeah? I can't think of who it might be. Have a guess, have a guess. Probably Oasis, mate. You're in an Oasis shirt. Got it in one. You got it in one. Not many people have heard of them. They're up and coming. Are you wearing that to the gig? What, my Oasis shirt? It's like wearing a match worn, isn't it? Rory Jennings would hate you.
5:38Don't start, don't start. Now, today we have a man on the show. I'm very, very excited to basically introduce to the internet. A man that DM'd me a few weeks ago. And you know what it's like to be one of these sort of wanky influencers. You get offered stuff from time to time. Yeah. So you get offered like, what have I been offered before? Like trainers, like cool shit, right? This one was a bit random. It was a bit random. It was a box of fruit, rare and exotic fruit. Now, I've never really been into fruit that much. But who do I know that has? That is Fiona. She loves it. Okay. So I thought I could get Fiona a little treat here.
6:13and then I met this man and we've got chatting and he's an absolute legend it's uh Zach Wilson from the Fifth Orchard how are you man I'm good man thank you this is like your first ever podcast right yeah first ever podcast it's uh it's pretty big one to start mate yeah I know this is what I was thinking I'm a little bit nervous to be honest no you'll be fine I don't feel like you're allowed to say it it's nice when he says it but if you say it that's a bit wanky no well we've been chatting it's been good to get to know you over the uh couple what is it only a week now or something like that. Yeah, about a week.
6:43Why'd you reach out to me then? Well, I used to watch you as a kid, mate. Oh, okay. Yeah, as a kid, I used to love you, mate, me and my pals. Oh, bless you. Like, loads of the different videos, mate. Like, loads of different ones. We used to sit there creasing as like 13, 14-year-olds. Oh, bless you. So I thought I'd reach out to you, do you know what I mean? Yeah. And we obviously had a strong connection and when you said your missus loves fruit, I just thought, you know, perfect. It's perfect. And Zach sent me out some fruit last week. Me and Fia have been munching it a lot. That's very, very good.
7:12Well, we, because I said to you, when I started speaking to Zach, he's sending me voice notes and I learned a lot about his upbringing and his life. And as you'll find out, listeners, over the next couple of hours, you've done some mad shit, haven't you? Yeah, I had a mad story. You've got a mad, mad life. So I thought, let's bring him on and hear all about it. But Zach, before we get into you, your life and the magical fruits, we always start with the first question. It's called the Hall of Fame question. And we want you to submit any item into the Happy Hour Hall of Fame. an item that means something to you.
7:42It can be funny. It can be serious. It can be a place, a person, a feeling, a thing. I have a feeling it might be a fruit. We'll find out. What would you like to put in there? Mate, do you know what? I'll put the mangosteen in there, yeah? Which is the fruit that started this whole journey. Okay. Yeah, it's what fueled this whole thing. It's about the fruit that lit me up and created this whole idea. Okay. Yeah, I connected with it on a really strong level. So I think it's only right that I stick that in there, mate. So what is a, what is a, a Magna scene, you say? A Mangosteen. Mango, is it a type of mango?
8:12No, no, no. A whole other thing. No, no, yeah. How is a Mangosteen not a mango? You would think that. It's just like a special fruit from Thailand. It's used ceremonially all over Southeast Asia, right? Okay. It's like offerings. It's real divine, mate. It's a taste you've never had before. Really? It's unreal. Have you got one with you? Yeah. Should we crack open now? Should we have a little go on it now? Just start a little Mangosteen. Yeah, go get it. Let's have a little look. I love that it's not a mango. Who are you trying to be then, Mango's team? Right, okay. Let's have a little look at it.
8:46It looks a bit like a plum. It does. Looks like, it looks like a, imagine a tiny purple pumpkin. Yeah? Yeah, you good with that? Yeah, without all the bumps on it. It's very smooth. Right, so yeah, go on. Let's have a little look at this. It's taken me a while to perfect this as well. Oh, I did not expect that to look like that on the inside. Whoa. That looks like how I imagine Like a testicle Is what I can say It looks Okay I was going to say It looks like cloves of garlic Yes that's a good shout And then I'll take my bit And then you boys Grab your bit out I won't get my hands Is this a bad time To tell you I don't like fruit Yeah there's no way You're not liking that Okay I was a very fat kid Fruit wasn't for me I'm going to be honest I feel like me and Zach Know each other well enough Now that I can be completely honest It looks fucking horrible Oh mate it's unreal Is it?
9:32Yeah yeah It's absolutely nuts So the inside so we said the outside's like purple as you rip it open it's kind of a lot more red but then it's a circle like orange segments I guess but they're pure white yeah it looks very much like orange it's so so sweet okay I'm scared why are you scared? it's sweet oh it's lovely yeah it is nice it is nice it's like strawberry lachee something else in there that you can't quite put your finger on Fee do you want to try this? come on then yeah that is you see that big bit Don't have the big bit Because that's the seed You want to have the little bits around it You can take that down there If you want, Fi Thank you Yeah Enjoy Right, that's great That's good Do you like that?
10:14What are you giving it out of 10? We're going to be rating loads of fruits later So A seven? Very sweet Yeah, I can't Fi, what are you rating that? One billion Yeah So why is that used ceremonially Words? Well, it goes about thousands of years, right? But the hard skin on the outside is seen as the protection for the divine white flesh inside. So it's symbolic. But also it's full of this very rare antioxidant. So it basically keeps illness away, fights toxins. People eat it every single day just to stay in top health, ultimately. So it's used as a thank you to the gods. People will lay it down on altars and give it as offerings.
11:00Wow. This is going to be super fascinating. and we're going to learn about so many fruits today. But before that, we've got some quick fires for you, Zach. Just three. If you found yourself deserted on a desert island with one celebrity, who would you choose that celebrity to be if you could pick? It's got to be Bear Grylls, innit? That's a good answer. It's sort me out. I feel like you'd teach him a thing or two about the fruits on the island. I've got Bear Grylls or Wim Hof. Do you know what I mean? Yes, Wim Hof. I'd be chilling there with Wim Hof, doing breath work and that. Bear Grylls would be going to sort everything out and get all the food and sort it out.
11:34He can climb the trees, get the fruit and you can sort them out. Sort it out. Yeah, okay, that's perfect. If you could be reincarnated as any animal, what would you be? It's got to be the dolphin. It's got to be the dolphin. Imagine that, mate. It's flying through the water. They're smart. They're really smart, apparently. Yeah, yeah, they're switched on and all, yeah. And apparently they have chats and that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. What do you mean? Don't most animals chat? But I have a feeling, I have this theory, right, with dolphins that like, you know when dogs bark at each other? Yeah. I reckon if you translated that into human talk, they're going, food, hungry, like that, right?
12:06Yeah. Bear with me. Whereas I reckon dolphins are going, oh, look at that rock over there. I don't know, what was that? Look at that rock over there. I think it was looking pretty sturdy. And then another dolphin will go, yeah, sturdy, sure, but what about this coral? Like, I think they have more articulate chats because they're going, still didn't sound that articulate, did it? Look at that rock and coral. But they've got more range. A lot of sniffing butts. That's what I'm trying to say. And finally, who's your hero? It's got to be me old man. Yeah. Got to be me old man. Absolute hero, mate.
12:39It's a great show. And we're going to learn a lot about him in this, aren't we? Yeah, yeah. Right, well, there's this... Oh, no, we've got the ball machine. So, Zach, behind us we have this machine. It's full of questions from previous guests. Right. We're going to ask you to submit a question later on. But for now, we've picked one out at random because our button never seems to work. So we're going to spring that on you. Open that up. Tell us who... It should say at the end who's asked it. okay oh he's got into that easy it's like getting into a coconut friend you pick the hardest fruit what is your biggest regret oh no regrets none no regrets no because because everything is a lesson right even the worst things i've done yeah led me to where i am now sitting here with you amazing people if one thing was different yeah i wouldn't be here oh that's a good answer um no regret i like the question yeah question and there's certainly some things that are very questionable.
13:30Right. But nah, it's all our journey, man. Who asked that? Has it got a name at the end? Emma Payton. Emma Payton. Okay, Sky Sports Presenter. I love how he says her name correctly straight away and you still get it wrong. Did I say it wrong? You always say Patton, don't you? I know, I know. Emma's great. Right, okay. No regrets. I like it. Let's get into your early life, mate. So we always ask every guest where they're from. I know you're from Maidstone in Kemp. Yeah, Maidstone Kemp. If Stevie and I were to go there now, what's a cool thing for us to do there? Oh, I don't know, man. Depending on what, in the day or in the night?
14:02Oh, both. We're doing a day trip to Maidstone. A day trip? But we're staying overnight. Oh, I don't know, mate. I've left now. It's an interesting place. It's one of those places where everyone knows everyone. Right. Is it quite small then? No, it's quite big. I think there's about 100 ,000 people there. Oh, okay. So it's quite big. I don't know. So the town centre, to be honest with you, I'll probably just avoid it nowadays. but it's surrounded by beautiful like villages and towns around the outside like so you've got the North Downs okay so yeah I'd say go and have a walk up the North Downs beautiful views so I'm real and then maybe a bit of camping in that's what I would do personally but there's some nice restaurants there what's the best restaurant in Maidstone got to be Vesuvius shout out Vesuvius Italian mate I've been going there with my family for years Maidstone Vesuvius yeah yeah it'd be VE Alessandro yes he's the man it's just one of these really beautiful like traditional Italian restaurants like the guy he actually brings people in from Italy and helps them get flats and that oh wow brings in all these proper chefs man it's great what's she go to order at Vesuvius oh I haven't been there for a while but the veal the veal is beautiful man veal is that deer yeah I'm not too sure to be honest I don't think I've ever had veal no I reckon I'd like it or sometimes I'll just have antipasti if I'm going with like a big group of people we'll just have like food everywhere like all just little dishes that's how the Italians like to eat nice do you know what I mean well you're super healthy now you're like bang on the fruit can you still eat all that stuff do you know what I try and just I eat I don't eat red meat a lot of the time because the blood although it's really healthy for you I don't understand why people eat it and I do eat it here and there but it's sort of the blood can put you into a bit of a fight or flight state oh really yeah so it's like I eat the shamanic diet right because of the path that I walk so i'll just try and eat uh chicken fish right lots of veg what is a shamanic diet i'm sure we'll get onto it later but no what what is that sort of what does that mean what is shamanic what does that mean it's it's it's a way of life right where so ultimately when it comes to the diet you're eating for the frequency the energetic properties of the food right right okay so i've actually been thinking about going vegan um but it's just too much hard work i might try out at some point when i'm not as busy but yeah just and i listen to my body a lot of the time as well like there's there's certain foods that will just make me feel slumped and so i just i just try and eat lots of um like avocados which again they're quite it can be quite questionable but you know this is a new thing for me right especially the diet i've only really sorted my diet out over the past six months okay yeah so and it's changed my life entirely right and it created this whole movement called the fifth orchard the real company created it all which is why i take it so seriously now right yeah so so yeah lots of fruit lots of veg white meat fish sweet the love of sweet potato yeah but yeah i'm very i get very addicted so i just eat the same meal like three times a day that's pretty much what i do what is your what is a day of eating for you what's breakfast yeah so i'm putting i'm trying to put on a bit of weight now a bit of size and get back in the gym probably and uh so my go-to meal is i have these i have sweet potatoes a bit of rice peppers and chicken and then I'll just cover it in this, like in proper olive oil, salt and pepper.
17:19And that's me. And then I'll just have that like three times a day. Really? Yeah, like massive, massive, great big meals three times a day just trying to put some size on. Fucking hell, because you're very slim, aren't you? Yeah, I am. I actually did put a bit of size on before, but got back into the boxing and it come back off a little bit. Right. So yeah, I'm just sort of trying to build some strength ultimately. I'm not too fussed about the size, but I just want to feel strong again. When you say frequencies and stuff like that, is that what you said about the food? What does that mean? Because is that hippie stuff?
17:52What does that mean? Well, a lot of it is metaphysical, right? So it's like when I'm talking about the fruits, although I can plant some seeds here and there, I try and actually avoid discussing the frequencies of the fruit because it is metaphysical and there's a limit to how science can test things. Do you know what I mean? yeah what's metaphysical mean it just basically means it's just not in the physical so it's hard it's hard to so it's all up there yeah it's it's like a a lot of it's backed by ancient script and stuff and like uh you very much got to be in tune with it to be able to feel it it goes it goes back to the ancient times and you know science is catching up with it it's just not quite there yet so i try and avoid putting out information that can be disputed yeah do you know what i mean So if I'm talking about something being, you know, great for putting you into a meditative state, then I'll back it up with like, okay, the magnesium calms the body.
18:49So it's like, it's trying to web the science that has already been proven with like the spiritual concepts that, you know, people can argue with facts, but the truth of the matter is that people could argue it's not, right? So it's like, it's just trying to find that balance ultimately. And then setting people off to go and find on their own journey and figure these things out, right? That makes sense, yeah. Because it's easy to say, oh, there's like spiritual benefit. But then if, like you said, we're picking like the reasons to back it up, like the magnesium helps with this thing or, yeah. It'd be weird if you say, oh, this fruit can, I don't know, let's make something up.
19:28Like this fruit could cure cancer. But then you could say, oh, the properties of this fruit have been shown shown that can have certain effects on the answer, stuff like that. So you've got to be careful, mate. It's a bit like, the way I explain it is when you're giving out information, there's a certain limit to how much you can give without pushing people further away. Right. It's a bit like going into a room when everyone's sleeping and shining a torch in their face. They're going to be like, am I allowed to swear? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're going to be like, fuck off, you prick. Do you know what I mean?
19:58What you've got to do is you've got to turn it on slowly, plant a few seeds, and then put some music on, let them wake up slowly then they'll figure it out then they'll get up themselves and go and figure it out do you know what I mean whereas if you shine a light on their face they're like fuck off I'm going back to sleep go away so it's a bit like that do you know planting the seeds leading by example and yeah just sort of like trying to trying to you know guide people into their own journeys right I like it mate I like it so let's go back to a young Zach you're at school you went to an all boys school is that right Yeah, so I went to a primary school in Grove Green, which is where I grew up, a little Church of England school.
20:37It was very communal. Everyone knew each other. Everyone was there with each other from the start. Right. So that was nice. And then I went to an all-boys school for secondary, Maidstone Grammar School. What was that like? Because in my head, I don't know why, because Harry Potter's both genders, isn't it? Yeah. Especially with J.K. Rowling. I'm fucking up. But all-boys schools remind me of... Harry Potter yeah I don't know yeah it looked like it as well to be fair did it really well not exactly like it but it resembled like I know what you mean yeah it was a weird school man is it quite posh yeah it was a bit it was full of these people who were sort of like wanting to be posh you know what I mean yeah but it was a great school yeah it's got a great reputation it's been about since the 1600s I think it was right I just didn't get on with it I just probably should have gone to a normal school to be honest yeah but I passed my 11 plus and then I sort of thought alright let's go to the best school possible my cousin went there i just didn't really get on with it to be honest yeah you know i mean yeah how long were you at the school for from year seven till year 11 just just just about got through it i don't know how was it at that school that you broke your wrist yeah so what happened was uh so right at the start i always used to break my bones all the time and uh and i broke my wrist at the start of the school start of school year and uh went into a hospital and i I remember I was, it's quite a key part of the story, actually.
21:58I remember I was, like, with the doctor, and I was like, what's up with his hands? And my dad was like, he's got Freeman Sheldon syndrome. And I was like, what? What did you just say? And he was like, oh, don't worry, don't worry. How old, sorry, how old are you at this point? I was like 11, I think. Right, and you're hearing this for the first time? Yeah, for the first time. I was like, what, what did you say? And he's like, you, and he's like, sort of just brushed it to one side. And then he spoke to me about it. and he was like, look, you've got this tendon disorder, basically. And I'd never noticed it before.
22:30Right. But basically, it's just like makes your... So my little finger's most affected by it. Right. It don't really affect me, to be honest with you. Yeah. My dad's hands were worse. Right. But it can affect you. So there were your thing. Can you not bend your finger? No, I can't straighten it. Right. I can't straighten it. Right. But it's never really affected me, to be honest. How'd you not notice that happened to that point? Nah, because I went to a little church school, right? Yeah. And we'd been with each other since like four years old. So none of the kids at that age, you just sort of accept everyone for who they are, right?
22:58Right, yeah. And then I've gone to secondary school and I've already had a couple of comments, like people coming up with these weird names and that, because it affects your mouth as well. Right. And like, mate, it's so weird. Half the people have noticed it in my life, half the people haven't. It's real strange. It's funny you say that, because when I was younger, obviously it's not as severe as Freeman Sheldon, but I had a severe underbite that had to be corrected on the NHS. Shout out to the NHS, by the way. But I had a huge underbite and it was sort of wonky as well. So when I bit together, it looked quite funny.
23:32And it's funny you say that because half the people I knew would clock it straight away. What's up with your jaw? And then my first girlfriend I was with, it was about three months in, I was like, I've got to have my mouth done. She went, what do you mean you've got to have your mouth done? Some people knew. It's weird, isn't it? Yeah. It's weird. Yeah, I used to have it all the time. when I found out because before that I was like yeah whatever but when I found out I was like oh this is what they're talking about calling me funny names like fish lips and all that it sounds funny but at the time I was like it was probably affecting me and when I found out I was like I was like fucking hell like it clicked mate I felt like I was just fully disabled mate to be honest I'd look in the mirror I'd be like oh I'm horrible looking things you know what I mean and then like where you have that like I said self-confidence and then sort of like used to proper wind me up when kids would say something and then yeah my dad's answer to it all he was just like i'd come home upset and he was like quite a solid fella yeah so he'd just be like well go and you know what to do um he just like try and just get me to go and smash them up and that really well so what's your dad's background he was the nicest fella in the world like i can't he was the most caring loving person in the world right but he didn't take no shit yeah he was from a really hard background yeah like he's uh he grew up in a place called Eccles yeah and his dad died when he was two right he got out of the car and pushed someone's car up the road to help him and just had an attack died no yeah as far as I'm aware I never obviously met him but then his mum was really unwell and they were really poor like really really poor he didn't even have a bedroom or nothing so grew up barely any dinners and so so he was sort of like battle hardened yeah battle hardened great word yeah and then so So you're getting, I don't know if bullied's the word, but you're getting the piss taken out of you at school.
25:21Yeah. And then he's telling you to combat that literally, right? Well, yeah, that's all he knew. Obviously, he grew up with nothing. So if people were taking the piss out of him in school, he'd just get stuck in and then people stopped. Yeah. So in his mind, that's the solution, right? Right. So I'm not making him out as a bad, violent person. He wasn't. Yeah. But at the same time, when your kid's coming home upset, that's the solution he knows. that's what he was so I remember at one point he like got down on his knees he was like he was like right this is what you're gonna do and called me a name and he was like on to me then son on to me then he's like that should do the trick but like I was I was I was like look you know sometimes I would do that like I had lots of fights in school right but I did bottle it here and there did you yeah yeah because I was a nice kid mate I was from a nice sheltered estate middle class estate in Grove Green yeah dad always done well my mum always done well yeah suddenly I got all these older boys taking the piss out of me yeah it's like yeah I did bottle it a lot of the time mate yeah so so when they were when they were taking the piss out of you before like for your mouth or whatever before you knew you had is it a condition is it a syndrome syndrome yeah Freeman Sheldon it's proper rare mate only I think only 200 people in the world have got it in the world yeah it's mad and fucking hell right so okay how is it hereditary yeah yeah It's hereditary, yeah.
26:46So he got it from his old man, and then it skips a... Not a generation, but my sister ain't got it. Right. But I have, and then my dad, one of his sisters got it, but one of them hasn't. Fucking hell. So why do you think your parents didn't tell you necessarily at the start? I just don't think they wanted me to think I was weird. They know who I am as well. They know that I'm very obsessive. So to be honest, if they did tell me that, it probably would have made my childhood a lot different. Right. Especially where I grew up in a nice little place, brother. I just grew up feeling like a normal kid.
27:18Yeah. So I think they probably made the right move. And again, it's all part of my journey, mate. I had to go through all of that to where I am now. So how did that, when you went to the hospital that day for your broken wrist and you found out you had the syndrome, how then did that change your mindset? It just made me feel like a weirdo, to be honest. Really? Yeah, because I went home, mate. I went home, I Googled it. Anyone wants to see what I mean? Google Freeman Sheldon syndrome. scared the life out of me, mate. Right, because other people have it quite severe. Yeah, severe cases. It can be crippling, mate.
27:49It can be real devastating. Yeah. Right. So I've Googled it. I'm like, wow, what's up with me? Yeah. And yeah, it was difficult, man. Is it something that progresses or is it like what you've got is what you've got, if that makes sense? I don't know, to be honest. I don't know. It's really unknown. It's not really too understood at this point. and they're getting there now. I think it's Guy's Hospital they're diving into it a little bit. Right. There's certain things you can do to prevent it actually happening. Oh really? Like IVF and stuff like that. Oh wow. But yeah for me I think it has got a bit worse but I don't know.
28:26I'm not too sure to be honest. It's such a gradual thing. It don't affect me you know and it toughened me up. But like going through school like I weren't a saint either. Like my insecurities I'm sure I projected onto other people. I was getting the piss taken out of me. I'd be the first person to take the piss out of someone else. Yeah, right. I weren't a saint. Yeah. You know what you like as kids as well. Did you ever get kicked out of school? None. I almost did though. I got excluded like 25 times in school because 25 times I got excluded. Why is there not a point where they're going, let's just kick them out completely?
28:57Well, there was. It's a joke story to be fair. So yeah, I'll just, mate, to be honest, I did do some stupid things, but I never really done anything major. It was always just like, just making silly comments and like pushing people over. Or just, I don't know, No, just kid stuff, right? Yeah, yeah. And it got to a point where it was like, we're basically now going to exclude you for everything. But I didn't care because I'd just go work with my dad. He'd give me£100 a day. I was all right. I'd be like, yeah. What did your dad do? He owned a hoarding and fencing company. Oh, okay. Yeah, but... So I didn't really mind about being excluded, but they ended up just excluding me for anything because I think you had to be excluded a certain amount of times for them to then have the power.
29:3624 to cut off. Yeah, for them to kick you out. Right. And then what happened? I got excluded this one time and I think something along the lines of my mum got a phone call and she was like you're going to have to come in for a proper meeting and my mum got the feeling that something weren't right she said to me they're going to kick you out we've got to do something about it so what they've done here is they got my nan jokes mate they got my nan to dress up like proper smart she's come in and then all the teachers are like who the fuck's this and she's like I'm Mrs Baker and obviously we're trying to make her look like a solicitor right oh yeah so what had happened is like all the school had gone to China and gone on trips and I weren't allowed to go because I was such a little shitbag yeah so like I don't know why they gave me this job either it was like sports week and they gave me a camera and it was like right you're on photography duty yeah so I'm just like cutting around and there was a Spanish teacher and she like walked past me and I just went bang like in her face like shouldn't have done it yeah but I deleted the photo straight away obviously yeah and she's grasped me up she grasped me up as a teacher yeah

30:41They've excluded me over it. But they didn't check the camera, right? So they've excluded me for something they haven't seen. And then they've come back in and we're having this meeting, right? And to cut a long story short, like... When your nan's just sat there as your fake solicitor. They're looking, thinking, who's this woman? And she's like writing notes and that. And then right at the end, she's gone, right, okay, so you've excluded Jack for taking a photo of a teacher yeah and they're gone yeah what your nan said yeah she's like summarised has she got a background in law no she's just smart like she's smart and she's gone she's gone right so can I see the photo and they've gone whoa no we haven't got it and she's gone right okay and then and then she's gone like okay so so you've taken him out of education for a period of time for and the teacher didn't like him did did she and he goes well no teacher didn't like and then she's just like summarised it and she's like right okay so just confirm like you've taken him out of education we've taken a photo that you haven't seen and it's of a teacher who's told you about it who doesn't like him do you think this is acceptable or something along these lines and they're just like they was like okay no worries and then you can see their whole plans changed because I think they were trying to get me out of there I might be wrong yeah are you sat there yeah I'm sat there I'm sat there and I'm not talking all these teachers I really love and I appreciate you for putting up with me to be honest but I'm not talking badly about you you had a job to do right I get it but at the same time it was funny and you can see them like going around like the plan's changing and then they was like okay you're right well you know and then for the rest of the time without school I just had to go and see this teacher called Mrs.
32:27Friend she was cushy mate she was like the nicest person ever so like after lunch I'd just go and sit with her like watch YouTube juvenile oh really yeah so you're not allowed out having lunch with them with the kids no i was allowed to have lunch but form like form time right which is after lunch i had to go and see her basically yeah i think my memory's a little bit yeah i've ruined my memory a little bit since so what so did you um you so were you saying you didn't actually get kicked out nah that's what they were mate no one said a bad word to me after that his nan's a fucking lawyer we'll leave that but I didn't know it was my nan right yeah oh yeah fair he's got a lawyer this fucking 12 year old kid he's got a lawyer so what were you away from the naughtiness and that what were your hobbies and passions when you were a kid so I I played football when I was a young boy I was quite good at football who was your team Vinters I played for Vinters I won my team I support Arsenal growing up but in art so my dad was Tottenham all my cousins were Arsenal so like so I was at Arsenal really but then I'd have like Tottenham posters with Arsenal on top so like if my dad's family come around I'd rip all the Arsenal posters I'd be Tottenham for the day like but yeah it's Arsenal to be honest with you what about um what about scootering scootering yeah so I picked up my my auntie she bought me a scooter auntie Sharon love you to bits she bought me a scooter when I was 11 or 12 little JD bug okay remember them are we talking about so we're not talking about like an electric thing nah are you talking about them silver things for the handles and then the things would spin around hit you in the shin and make you cry yeah that's it yeah and I just used to just float about on that basically what's a JD Bug let me look at this JD Bug it was like an old it was the classic mate it was the best JD Bug's scooters oh yeah these are the classic I'm sure I probably had one yeah and you would like flick the little hand the little lever and you remember you'd pull it up like that yeah right so you got into scootering yeah and it used to be massive mate so like where I lived if there was loads of skate parks about, everyone would just be at the skate park.
34:26It was sick. And then what happened was scooter companies started to, like, customise them. So they'd have, like, they were called, like, one-piece bars. So it was, like, the solid metal, right? So everyone was getting them customising their scooters. And then everyone started doing flips on them and that. And then it just started getting, like, companies would start sponsoring teams. All these scooter companies come up, like, Mad Gear Pro and Razor and all this. They started, like, coming to you. I remember Razor, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and then so suddenly I'm like my old man spending hundreds of pounds on scooter parts for me and I've just got this mustard scooter.
34:58Like, it was sick. And then I was good on it, to be fair. So then I was like learning how to backflip and stuff. Really? How do you get good? Just what? Just practice and hurting yourself a lot. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. There was these foam pits. If you'd go to like these indoor skate parks, there'd be like these ramps into foam pits. And another funny story. So I was camping with my mate and I'd already learned how to backflip. and that whole day I'd basically learnt how to double backflip into the foam pit and it was like a massive thing to do that I was only 13 and my dad turns up he's in Eastbourne he turns up and I'm like dad watch this I've done a double backflip right next to it was a wooden ramp he's like there's a wooden ramp there mate I'm like I can't do it to the wooden ramp there's a double backflip he's like yes you can mate he's like go on give it a go I'm like what do you reckon do you and he he used to tell me I could do so I'd just believe it so I've like ended up putting these mats down and these little thin PE mats I was like fuck it done it almost landed it I was like fucking hell whole skate park stopped it was a moment mate proper moment and then he moved the mat so then I'd done it about 10 times I didn't quite land with both feet on but I got close I rolled away that's quality but yeah it got to a point where I was like if I do it again I'm going to break my neck because it's a serious thing to do that's why I wouldn't do shit like that I'd worry too much was it not a huge risk to injury for you?
36:20Was this after you broke your wrist as well? Yeah, mate. Do you know what? I broke loads of bones on scooters. I broke pretty much every bone in my body. The only thing I ain't broke is my shoulder, my collarbone pretty much over the years. Smashed everything. A lot of it was on a scooter. What? Ankle, leg, knees? Yeah, broke my ankle. Broke my ankle playing football. Broke my leg on a motorbike. Broke my pelvis on a scooter. Broke my back in a car crash. My neck in a car crash. Broke my arms on scooters. broke my hands fighting fucking hell broke my nose everything mate wow you're like Mr Invincible I've never had surgery either I quite quite I shouldn't be proud of it but I am slow I broke my fucking middle finger playing football last year and look I had surgery he was a right melt about it as well cried about it constantly couldn't handle the cast on it I'll tell you what that is weird right so I broke both my wrists my arms all sorts I broke my the listeners are bored of this story aren't they i broke my middle finger and they put a cast on it like one that obviously can't come off and i have um uh fucking oh i've gone blank what's it called claustrophobia right so i'm petrified of like if there's a toilet where the door's fully sealed sealed around it because you know sometimes you can go and go toilet and there's like the bottom bit missing and stuff they're fine right but these ones here are a bit dodgy like if it's if it's blocked and it's locked i panic because i think when i was a kid well i know when i was a kid one I got trapped inside a suitcase my mate threw me down the stairs and I couldn't get out and then I also got trapped in an elevator when I was in Turkey so when I go in lifts now I have to fucking like start like focus on my breathing and stuff yeah but when they put the cast on my finger didn't think anything of it which was only last March and then I get home and I start saying to Fiona I was like oh because they've done the ops and my whole arm was numb I couldn't feel anything and then when I start getting the feeling back in I felt trapped in this cast Mate I had a massive panic attack Over a little cast On my finger I went back up at the A &E At like three in the morning Like you gotta get it off Like you gotta get it No way Yeah it was intense Trauma's crazy man Yeah it is mate It is But let's go back to your scootering You started making YouTube content right?
38:30Yeah Zach Wilson Media So I had like this little YouTube channel Is it still on there? Can people find it? Nah I got deleted mate I was using all wrong tunes and that Copyright yeah I mean I got deleted What were you uploading on there? Scooter videos So I was like So I basically we started off with just like, just like Jekyll, just like kid videos, like a little tiny camera and that. And then they started getting like really good. And then eventually my dad bought me, my mum and dad bought me a Canon 600D, I think. Yeah, that's my first camera, a big camera. Yeah, sick, innit? Yeah. And then I had like the 50mm lens, I had like 35mm.
39:04Yeah, nice. And I had the slider track. Oh, wow. I had this ballpoint, is it a fluid triplet or whatever it is, yeah. And I started getting good. Your dad proper sorted you out then? Yeah, my mum and dad both sport. life out of me yeah and to be honest we are and then yeah the video started getting good mate and then I got sponsored by a company called skates.co.uk still about and then they used to basically pay for me to travel about and like attend competitions and oh wow and look after me and yeah so the channel got good mate I had like 10 ,000 subscribers in the end fucking hell what year was this?
39:36I had it in 2011 and then it got it went in 2014 year 11 summer holidays it went start of the summer holidays so what made you stopped scootering then? All my mates stopped. I had all these mates like Miles, Ben, Ben Aslar. These were all my like my close mates as a kid. And then they all got BMXs. I was like, no! They've upgraded. Yeah, because they didn't want to float about the town. They started going parties and that. It was a bit embarrassing to go around the town on a scooter. It obviously, yeah, you're getting a bit older, aren't you? Like 15. It's a shame though, isn't it? Because when people have passions for stuff and maybe the passions are not considered to be I don't know, like quote unquote, like cool or mature people bit, bit them off, don't they?
40:17And it is a shame because if you have a passion, no matter what it is, like I think there's nothing cooler than someone really honing in on their passion. It's like a lot of autistic people have it as well, don't they? Where they have like their thing that they fucking love. And as a kid, I'd be quite judgmental about that and go, how can you like fucking, I don't know, Beanie Babies or Pokemon or X, Y, Z. Just name the things you like. Yeah, I know. but as I've got an older you're right how could you like that but as I've got an older well you know because you see these clips and it's like oh this autistic kid on TikTok he loves I don't know it could be like counting buttons or whatever do you know what I mean and it's just like if that's your thing that's your thing embrace it love it it's like one of my mates Dante Hutchinson he's a three time world champion on a scooter or something he's like he was much younger when I used to ride scooters he was a little kid but he kept it rolling he's probably 21 plus now is wicked, mate.
41:10Wow. He don't give a fuck. Yeah. He floats about my scooter. He's actually made it completely... He looks cool on it, mate. Yeah. He's one of the only people who look cool on a scooter. Do you know what I mean? Did you feel like you had to give up the scooter to join in on the parties then? No, it weren't so much the parties. I just had no one to ride scooters with. In the end, I ended up swapping my scooter for a BMX. Yeah. Couldn't do two backflips on that. Nah, I did one. I did one. And then we just floated about BMXs for a bit. And then that just slowed down. we didn't really have the passion for it and it much harder so we just like it just stopped slowly yeah and then that coincided with us leaving school right year 11.
41:47so what were you like when you left school what was your what was your thing were you going out yeah so what happened was i went to a party the first party i went to so i was working with my old man yeah so i had money over summer right and then i was going i went to this party finn walters party mate it was classic party yeah and uh it was a pool party mate people were a bit of mustard and uh your mate had a pool yeah different way of living mate yeah yeah yeah naughty house and that like all this land it had this big pool party it was sick mate i still remember it so clearly i was just floating about smoking weed and that i didn't really do any i smoked weed since i was young since i was like 14 because it was part of the skating culture right it was sort of like yeah man yeah a bit of a deeper story that goes with that as well was like but but in the end it just basically just it was just a laugh in the end yeah and then it was just yeah it went from there yeah um and then so i was just i was just like the little stoner i was still in my skate gear and that yeah i mean yeah well at this pool party yeah i was like that's how i dressed in my huff huff gear yeah and i'd have like the weed t-shirts and that and everything like oh and uh what's a weed t-shirt with like the leaves on it and like just in case people weren't sure if he smoked just trying to show everyone like and yeah so we was at this party and I met I met my mate LJ and he's like he's sort of from a bit of a different walk of life and he's a proper proper cool guy but we proper got along and then he was sort of like without like dressing it up and so he was like he was like a popular boy do you know what I mean part of like different groups yeah and stuff like that but we proper got on and uh i started going going around with him and then i felt like a bit of a div wearing all the skate clothes and that because i'm with all these mates and they're all wearing all flash designer and all that yeah and i tried as a kid you're trying to fit in and yeah i'm only 16 so i got rid of all that got rid of all the clothes i'm just trying to dress up in design i'm spending all my money that i'm working on site to buy like montclair and that right right um you just wanted to fit in yeah just trying to fit in And then I started hanging around with other people, like my mate Mikey.
43:57He was part of the raving scene. So I remember I went to my first rave with him in Grain. It was like an outdoor rave. Do you remember much about that rave? Yeah. Yeah, I remember it all, mate. Talk us through it. That was like a drum and bass rave, yeah. Right. And it was outdoors. And I'd been somewhere. I'd been to a party or something. And I got dropped there. I met him. And I remember I'd done my first pill there. Right. And then it was mental, mate. from that point on we just loved pills like basically yeah we had a well good rave and we got dropped back to his and he lived on this like next to this massive field yeah I remember we was just like chasing sheep around for like hours like nutters like it was fun it was fun but like yeah it was only 16 mate it was a proper cringy video I could never watch it again like me and him were like I love you so much brother like oh it's horrible but yeah that's where it started and then since that point on like we were just raving every weekend.
44:55I just loved it, mate. Do you know what I mean? So with pills and that, obviously the comedown can be quite bad. Yeah, at the start when you're young though, it don't really exist. It gets worse as you grow older. Right. But obviously I don't do none of it now. Yeah. But yeah. So how did you, if you were doing it every weekend, how did you balance the lifestyle of like working on site with your dad but also smashing pills every weekend, going to raves? Not very well. Not very well. I'd just be dying to get down the rave but then so I'd be like a zombie on a Monday if I'd even turn up a lot of time I'd let my dad down because he's firm I just thought I had special I just thought I was special basically I was always growing up spoiled I just felt well entitled so I'd always let him down like an idiot so yeah that continued for a couple of years what was the maddest thing moment like when you go to raves and like parties and stuff there's always going to be crazy stuff happening what's a particular story that stands out to you as like a crazy so my dad when he was younger he was a big raver and he told me a story he came on the podcast a previous podcast I did before this and he told me that he was at a rave once and he saw a bloke with an actual monkey on his back smoking a cigarette oh right I thought the monkey was smoking a cigarette yeah I don't know where was he I can't remember was it in Thailand or something no it was over here was he on yeah was he on a loose electronic he was on pills yeah yeah maybe he's made that up just someone having a piggyback smoking I don't know.
46:24There's loads of stories. There's loads of different stories. I remember just off the top of my head, first thing that springs to mind, I was at a festival. What festival were you at? Wildlife Festival. I was in the drum and bass tent. Yeah. And this glass bottle just went, phew, past my ear, like this close to my ear, and smashed this girl in the head. No. Fuck. That happened. Something happened where I weren't actually there. My mate was at a rave, and he was like raving, in this squat rave in London. Next thing you know, this guy in front of him, just like, this other guy comes up to him and just stabs him in the head with a screwdriver.
47:01And apparently he was raving, yeah? And he's just, next thing you know, he's just seen this screwdriver just go in this guy's head. And he obviously falls to the ground. Yeah, he got stabbed in the head. Did he die? No, I don't think so. That was the same rave where, did you ever hear about that girl losing her finger on the fence? Where she climbed over the fence to get in because the police had looked off the front. I've heard stories of people. Yeah, she climbed over a chain link fence or whatever it's got a palatine fence and she had a ring on and it just ripped her finger clean off or how do they call it the gloving don't they I think she kept raving as well I might be wrong what that night yeah because I couldn't get out because the police were everywhere so I think she I don't know I might be wrong I might be wrong I don't think I've been to a rave have I what's the difference between a rave and just so because you can get like illegal raves in warehouses and shit like that which the police will often shut down but then like go into a festival is that a rave at 5 in the morning and listen to drum and bass That's a rave.
47:50That's a rave. Okay. Like, if we said it, it's not going to be cool. Like, if we go, we're going to go in the Shangri-La and go raving. Like, we can't get away with that. So I picture raving being like some warehouse somewhere. Yeah, but the only difference is the surroundings, right? And often, like, they're like unpoliced, aren't they? Yeah. They do like quarry. There's a place near me, like near where my mum lives in Byrams. It's like a big quarry, big chalk quarry. And, mate, the steps to get down it, like, imagine, it's a massive cliff, right? and the steps are like that wide. Wow. You've got to step down like this and there's like drops either side and there was like thousands of people down there.
48:28And when people are off their nuts as well. Yeah, I'm thinking, how has anyone not like fallen down there? Like people wheeling down generators and stuff down there. Fucking hell. Yeah, some cool ones. There's woods raves and that. Yeah. Yeah, we did have a good laugh growing up. So you're going out, you're partying, you're raving, you're trying to keep up appearances at work and stuff like that. And then one night you got like massively beat up, didn't you? I weren't even trying to keep up appearances at work to be honest I didn't give a fuck mate I was just a prick a little prick mate little teenager I didn't give a fuck right spoilt yeah ultimately yeah started driving and then yeah so what happens I moved to Rochester a big part of my story was I moved to Rochester I was with my mate Mikey and we'd been to something been to a party or something and then like I was basically with all of his friends or people we knew in this place called The Vines which is like this little you know like every town has a little park in the middle of it do you know what I mean yeah everyone's sitting in there it's about 3 in the morning and I'm just with all his mates I'm happy as Larry I'm like fucking on the pills and that yeah and he walks around the corner with no shoes on and I'm like he comes from this alley with no shoes on I'm like Mikey what are you doing where's your shoes you nutter he's like I don't know what the fuck is this your mate sorry yeah my mate I'm like okay let me go find him So I've started walking to try and find his shoes.
49:50This girl, I didn't even know her. She was like, oh yeah, I'll come with you. So I was like, okay, no worries. I didn't even think anything of it. I had this speaker, I had a backpack on as well. And I've walked around the corner. Next thing you know, this girl was just like run backwards. And this geezer, and he was much older as well. I'm like 16. I'm like 16 at the time. And he must have been, I don't know. To me at the time, like a fully grown man. He must have been like 25. Maybe a bit young, I don't know. and he's like come flying towards me the girl's like no no no I'm like what the fuck's going on he's just come over to me he's just gone rip he's hit me I'm like what the fuck in the nose in the face yeah I'm like what the fuck bruv he's grabbed hold of my bag I'm just like flying around everywhere I don't know what's going on speaker's gone up the floor he's just like bang bang bang and like all I remember is just ring ring ring where are my pills as well it's like pain relief right it's like I can't even feel anything right my whole face is just bleeding everywhere and then like slowly other people come around the corner like stop leaving him alone like his mates people I knew they was like what are you doing I think he thought I was trying to get around his bird or something right and then like I'm just basically trying to just I just froze ultimately yeah I didn't know what to do I was just shocked did you not fight back at all nah he was a massive great big bloke mate and I was young as well I was just shitting myself I was a nice kid at this point and all yeah right and then and then yeah I remember like I've sort of like in the end putting my hands up a little bit because I did sort of know how to fight as well probably could have had a go but I was so scared yeah and then I just remember like one last crack I don't know how I kept on my feet yeah I'm quite proud of it to be honest but like smash I still ain't fixed my nose like it's still busted fuck and uh yeah all my white shoes on I was covered in claret and I was just I was fucked mate and then he's like walked off and that and then everyone's come over like you alright you alright did you go to hospital or anything nah didn't do anything about it to be honest and then I've gone home the next day with my dad with my mate he's like my dad's looked at my mate they're like what the fuck why are you alright yeah what's going on yeah and then like mate to be honest with you I'll be honest like I always used to like I've told a lot of people this story and I actually like I've made up I've made up an ending to a lot of people because out of like just I always used to tell people oh yeah my dad went around and handled it yeah truth of the matter is he didn't yeah he wanted to yeah but I was so scared I didn't want anything to happen to him yeah and my mate knew where he lived and that but like and my dad wanted to go and sort it out but I was like no please just don't and he didn't and that's the truth but I've told loads of people that story I'm like yeah my dad went round and done this done that it's a lie it was something I used to say because I was embarrassed right ultimately bro but now you don't now you're older and wiser no I don't need to fucking lie mate I don't have any reason to lie and you know ultimately it was just embarrassment and ego right you're right and but from that from that point on I was I was proper scared of him, bruv, to be honest.
52:46Yeah. And you got into a lot of shady situations out partying and stuff like that, didn't you? Yeah. Like brawls and stuff like that. Well, since that happened, like, I sort of, like, got fixed my face up. And then I was like, it's weird to think about it, to be honest. Yeah. Because it scared me, bruv. I was like, no one's doing that to me ever again. So then, like, I started hanging around with, like, other people. There suddenly was a massive group of us. makes me feel weird talking about it to be honest are you right talking about it yeah I'm alright bro I've just got a little bit wobbly sure am I right yeah but so I started hanging around with like all loads of other people there was loads of us grey roots entering the chat uninvited Garnier's got you Garnier colour sensation root retouch covers up to 100 % of greys in just 10 minutes no ammonia no mess and the colour lasts up to 4 weeks it's as easy to apply as shampoo Plus, it's vegan and cruelty-free.

54:32Yeah, I think it just manifested it. I don't even know, I don't know if you call it manifested it, but just sort of just created what I felt I needed maybe. There was loads of people anyway. Were they hard people? People that were tough? Yeah, there were also a lot of people just like me though, also trying to prove something. Yeah. You know what I mean? Acting like big men and throwing themselves in situations. So yeah, then there was like, mate, there was loads of us. There was like a group of probably like 20 close mates but like 50, 100 people. And then sort of, yeah, we'd just be fighting all the time and just any situation, we'd just get stuck into.
55:05At that point on, mate, I would never, ever, like, I was so embarrassed about not doing anything back. Yeah. I was like, right. Something switched in you, didn't it? Yeah, yeah. Something switched on me. I was just like, right, if anything ever happens like that ever again, yeah, they're getting it. I don't care who they are. Yeah. And then, yeah, I just turned into this, like, turned into this guy who just always had something to prove. If anyone would look at me, I'd be like, what are you looking at? I'd just turn into this little donut, mate, to be honest. Right. Who had something to prove.
55:30Yeah. I can see why though if you go through a traumatic thing like that yeah and then tell us about the you had a big brawl one night right some Albanian yeah oh mate we had so many we had so many madnesses but this one particular story is like probably the maddest one like we was we was in Maidstone and there was like this park called Brenchley Park which is again like the Maidstone little park in the town sort of thing and everyone used to sit there and fucking play football and smoke weed and that and And his group of Albanian boys were there. And they ended up playing football against us.
56:04Right. It all got way too rough. And basically, like, one of my mates slide tackled this fellow. And he stood up and just went clunk on my mate's nose. And it just went off. Like, everyone's fighting everyone. Are they the same age as you, did you say? Yeah. They were about the same age as you said. He's a lot of work. Yeah. And, yeah, like, it was a massive, great, big fight. People going everywhere, just getting stamped on, like, it's crazy shit. and then it all got split up. Everyone was worried about police coming so they ran off, we ran off sort of thing. And then my mate spawned an iPad out of it somehow as well.
56:37We got to where we ran off to. He was like, yeah, I've got this and all. I was just like, where'd you get that? He was like, I was on the floor. It's not random. Anyway, and then the next day I'm at work. I'm on my way home from work. I get a call from my mate Miles and he's like, bro, I've just walked into Brinchley. There's about 70 Albanians there. He's like, I've almost just had my head caved in. it was like right they basically said to him you've got a couple of hours to get your people together and you're coming back here saying Miles has gone away got all these boys together I'm trying to get home I can't get home in time and there's like probably 20 of us lot there's a video of it somewhere it's probably like 20 of us lot and then we're waiting in Brinchley all of a sudden there's this video there's about I don't know 30 Albanians like and not just the young ones the older ones like massive great big units and it all come together Everyone just went off, mate.
57:27Bottles going over people's heads. All sorts, mate. My mate almost got stabbed. And then a couple of the boys got slashed up all over their backs. No. Yeah, I met them all afterwards. I didn't get home in time. And I met them afterwards. And my mate was sliced all over his back. And then a couple of weeks later, they drove past my mate, shot him in the leg. Like, oh, this mad shit. And then we had to start. What, with like a BB gun or something? Nah, with like a proper fucking gun, mate. Shot him in the leg. so you're like you growing up you're like a nice kid like a nice shelter kid and now you're in this lifestyle fucking yeah madness feels like Green Street yeah I know just trying to prove something like it was just almost like a lot of the boys were in similar situations as well but Maidstone like I say Maidstone's quite like a rough place mate right but in the surrounding villages are really nice so you get all these boys from the surrounding towns nice upbringings suddenly we're mixing with all these people and we're trying to be these trying to be these hard men yeah we're not so to prove something to yourself you just chuck yourself in it do you know what I mean were you scared when you would go out and stuff like that no to be honest with you my ego would overtake it so I'd be like no I ain't even though my body was scared I'd be like well nah otherwise I'd be just like right mate we had hundreds of fights hundreds wow hundreds mate and yeah and then it all sort of calmed down a little bit so is this about round about the time you lost the job with your dad nah And then also, just to end it, so that Albanian story, in the end, we couldn't go around the town because there was just Albanians everywhere and they don't fuck about.
59:01Yeah. And in the end, we had to get a couple of older boys who were sort of more serious. And they had a meeting in Brenchley with the older Albanians and they basically shook hands. And then we was all friends again. Oh, really? And then we ended up going parties with them and that. What the fuck? He shot me in the leg, legend. Yeah, it was mad. Shots? Don't say that. yeah then we was all we was all all right of them oh wow in the end yeah it's crazy so how did it come to be that you did you you lost the job you'd had in the end oh so that was when i was so so this this life just continued raving getting into getting up to no good for a few years there's loads more to it as well i just can't think off the top of my head yeah but then uh I was working with my old man and like I say, I was a piss taker, mate.
59:47Like always just taking a piss and just didn't respect the business. Just didn't, I weren't mature, right? I was a child. So when I was 18 or 19, I like basically just fucking pissed him off enough for him to just tell me to go entirely. Yeah. So I was like, he don't mean it. A couple of days later, I turned out he did mean it. Right. So I was like, okay. Yeah. So I was just floating about for a little bit, doing a bit of this, a bit of that. And then my mate George Darlington, he was working in FX at this little FX firm. So what's FX then? Foreign exchange brokering. So is that kind of like what they're doing in Wolf of Wall Street then?
1:00:26Yeah, they're brokering stocks and investments and that. We're brokering currency. So I think of it like this. You know when you go to get your travel money to go to America or whatever? The rate you're buying on the screen, that's not what they're getting. and they'll be buying at like 10 cents higher or whatever it may be. Okay. So the money they're making is based on the margin, right? Right. That same principle continues into the corporate world. Okay. It's a volume-based thing. So if you're doing X amount with the bank, so if you're doing anywhere between sort of 100 grand and a million pound a month, the bank will be making X amount of margin over it.
1:00:59Okay, yeah. Does that make sense? Yeah. Are you buying and selling, trying to catch out like when the numbers change? Nah, not so much. We're just delivering it. So for example, you've got a client and they're importing wood from Italy. They've got 100 ,000 euros to pay from their invoice every month. Typically how they do that is through the bank, right? And the bank will be making, I don't know, 2%, 3 % on that trade. Where we're buying through the banks at larger volumes, we've got a deal with the bank where we're buying wholesale levels, that then gives us the buying power to come to the timber company, find out what rate they're getting from the bank, and then come inside that.
1:01:34So we might go 1%. We actually trade much tighter to the market, right? nowadays because it's a volume thing but just to explain the principle yeah um we'd save their money and still retain margin ourselves right right so it's a case of just building up your clients that are importing or you have or you have companies that are receiving payments from customers overseas yeah do you know what i mean and then you would get the money that the timber thing gives you company gives you and then you would take it to the bank yeah yeah you you basically yeah you receive the funds yeah from them convert it through the bank yeah and then send the euros to their beneficiary and then there's left you skim off the top yeah we just Take a small chunk.
1:02:09Why don't the banks then lower their fees and cut out you guys as the middle man? They just don't. I mean, they do in some cases if it's worth it for them, right? So say, for example, they have loads of other facilities with the bank. The bank may be prepared to come down. But at the same time, the banks have huge expenditure, right? So they have to cover their margin. They have to cover their expenditure through wider margins. They're just not prepared to do it nine times out of ten. And also, it makes sense for them to have relationships with us. To them, it's tiny little stuff. It's like the crumbs.
1:02:39Yeah. But for us, we can make a business out of it, right? So you meet your mate. He's doing this. Yeah. Where's he doing this? In the city? In Maidstone, yeah. In Maidstone. In Maidstone, yeah. So it's like a little tiny FX firm in a graveyard. Right. Oh, wow. In a graveyard, yeah. It's an office in a graveyard. There's crackers everywhere and that. Yeah. They had this little office. But the boys that run it, they were like an ex-big firm in the city. Yeah. They'd done really well. Yeah. Really well. And they were fucking switched right on. Yeah. And I went there in my funeral suit because that's all I had.
1:03:08Black tie. And yeah, we got on and then I started working with them. Did you have to have an interview? Yeah. I had an interview. It was only brief. They just liked me straight away sort of thing. Got on with it. And then just cracked on. And then it was the first time I'd ever seen blokes like this. I'd only ever seen like working class. I've seen men that done well, but through construction and stuff like that. My uncle done really well. My uncle's a part of a huge bank. but I'd never really sort of been involved especially on working with him or whatever do you know what I mean so so I'd seen this I'd seen so I'd seen these two guys like doing so well just totally inspired by them just wanted to just basically do everything I could to get to where they were pulling up in nice motors and just just looking fresh and just had all this charisma can I ask how much you ain't got a big go into it but how much like roughly are these kind of guys bringing in a month oh I don't know mate Are we talking they're bringing in three grand a month?
1:04:07Are they bringing in 30 grand a month or 300 grand a month? Well, I can't talk about these guys in particular, but in the game as a whole... Yeah, what's the standard? In the game as a whole, you'll have entry-level people going in at big firms earning anywhere between 1 ,500 pound a month on basic and three grand if you're lucky, if you're a graduate or something, maybe a bit more. But then you have the potential to... You basically build up your clients, right? Yeah. Depending on how much commission you're earning, some firms will be 10 % some will be 20 % if you're really lucky you might get 30 % so like you have the capability of earning anywhere between like I don't know like 5 grand a month anywhere up to like millions right do you know what I mean it just depends how good you are it depends how hard you work it depends how lucky you get at finding stuff right you know but I've got there and these blokes are doing really well for themselves put it that way and they've done well at another firm they're setting up their own thing and so yeah so I was basically just trying to do everything I could to make as much money there.
1:05:06I earned three grand a month when I was there. That was my best month. I was only there for a year and obviously as a beginner. To me at the time, that was like amazing. I'd never seen money like that. My life, three grand a month? I was like, mate, I was on the moon with that. Do you know what I mean? And then about a year later, I had like a little falling out of them. I don't even remember what about, to be honest. but I just had a little falling out of them were they alright with your party lifestyle and stuff to be honest with you it calmed down a little bit when I was there because I was so dedicated to work so I was going to ravers and that but I was always making sure I was fucking at work because they were strict as well if you were late they'd take your fucking chair away so you'd be standing up right do you know what I mean so yeah I just ultimately had respect for them maybe looking back I should have had the same respect for my dad it's different innit you've grown up with your old man different innit I've got these two blokes here and I wanted to impress them and I did impress them.
1:06:01Yeah. And then I basically moved on to another company, like a big company in the city, massive great big firm. What, in London? Yeah. My mate had just got a job there, funnily enough. Right. So eBay, I see him in the pub and he was like, yeah, basically what's happened is these two top blokes of this big firm have set up their own division and it might be aligned with like, with you. So I've gone up there, I had an interview and they was just like, yeah, amazing. Like, we'll up your money you've got to come up to the city every day it was in Wembley actually this first office right so I was like yeah I just wanted to get away from that old firm yeah so I've gone up there um yeah there's a lot to that but eventually was that was that like wall for wall street because I'm trying to work out what get what goes on in them offices up there because you hear a lot of stories of like like businessmen working in the city yeah that's a million miles away from from what we do yeah so so what's what's going on in them offices up there so so like when I first when I first went up there yeah it was like I wasn't in a massive office I was in a little division they'd set up their own office right yeah and I've turned up and like there wasn't the structure that there was at my old office my old office was regimented everyone's in suits everyone there was certain times that you have to be you're making 300 calls a day do you know what I mean I've gone up to this office everyone's pissing about everyone's rolling fags going out for coffees I was like what's going on and barely a script no CRM system I've gone in there I thought what the fuck's going on there so like the numbers made sense so I've come to work like a couple of weeks later whenever I started got my suit on started getting my structure in place and back then one of the things I learnt was I didn't have a vocab because I was just a fucking sight boy and my mate Alfie at the previous firm he taught me that you've got to make up for your lack of vocab with the tone in your voice so I'd be on the phone I'd be like oh hello there it's Zach Wilson speaking here how are you alright like I'm really like this because you want to paint the picture of like an older man like a gentleman yeah someone who's like 50 year old been in the game 20 years so I'll be like oh yes how are you yes oh well yeah I'm giving you a very quick call here today yeah and it fucking works mate so who are you calling like have you just got a list of people you need to call you've got to find them you've got to find but they're not expecting this call nah you're cold calling them so you've got to figure out who like the finance director is and that and then you've got find a niche market that ain't been hit up You've got this pitch, which you just learn in your head, off by heart, all these objection handles, like pages of objections.
1:08:32Do you still remember any of it? Yeah, because I'm still in the game. I've got a currency firm now. Right. How many times are you getting rejected in a day? Fucking loads, mate. Call me up. Call you up, yeah. Go on, what do you say? Okay, I'm like, hello, Jack. Hello, mate. Hello, Jack. It's Zach Wilson here. How are you? All right? Hello, who's this? Good. Well, I'm just on your website now, and I understand that you're trading overseas at the moment based on our current clients. I understand this issue that deals with that, right? Yeah, that's me, mate, yeah. Okay, good. Well, at my company, Vertex, we work in partnership with the banks all across the world.
1:09:02So what this means for our clients is access to far superior levels of pricing. So I'd be very keen to send my information over for now and perhaps speak when you're next in the market. Sound good? Okay, yeah, that's good. But why should I trust you? Okay, good. Let me ask you this. In terms of the currencies you're dealing with, is it euros, dollars? Dollars, mate, dollars. Dollars, okay. And over an average month, is that usually over£100 ,000, would you say? Yeah,£150,£200 ,000. About£150 ,000, okay. cool well look the full extent of the value we bring very much depends on how you go about your business so with that being said is it a bank you use or perhaps a third party yeah it's a bank yeah it's a bank okay well look we've got a number of clients that come over to us on a daily basis from the banks and what we tend to find is they're using them down to the convenience of it all is that the same sort of thing for you yeah and you're just building rapport ultimately right and then you lead that to a comparison and you show your rates versus them he's a different guy he knows what he's doing yeah so yeah that's how you do it but like we've nowadays we i've got like something called so my company's called vertex fx yeah based in london and you built this yeah i built this and uh it's very it's very different we do things very differently very like morally correct right very transparent and this is what i'm saying we work very tight to the market now so we can look after our clients probably that's not industry standard right industry standards to take the right piss yeah so basically yeah we i've got something called the vertex method which is like um objection handles and scripts to basically yeah to to figure out the real objection right yeah and to understand when people just aren't in the right mood today so just come away build your rapport approach them another day and gain their respect build that relationship so it was clear that you were you were uh good at this um you when we were chatting the other day you was telling me a story about a time um when you you correct me from wrong but you won someone round or you won a client round but you have no memory of it well what happened there okay so the bit i've got to explain in the middle of that yeah so so basically i I started working at this new firm and I started implementing all these new systems and that.
1:10:55And I really got on with the blokes there, the great blokes. The blokes that owned here, just real great blokes. And we had our issues, but yeah, ultimately we were like family when we were there. And so I was like running things and then they put me in a position of control. So like suddenly all the boys wearing suits, we got all these fucking... I remember I got there on my first day, I'm like down the phone, I'm like, oh, hi there, it's Shaq. Everyone's looking at me, they're thinking what the fuck are you doing with your voice i went mate this is how you do it yeah this is the order so now everyone's doing it everyone's like my closing accounts like everyone just started going really well like we started doing good numbers and uh health healthy healthy numbers and all and then and then we moved to a bigger office we had more boys and then everything was going well the partying it was part of the culture but it never really like are people doing drugs while they're working and that yeah sometimes sometimes it got really bad it got really bad at one point yeah we were we were working we were always doing well yeah and we weren't like taking a piss maybe on a Friday we'd have a bit of a do or whatever but like for the most part everything was proper do you know what I mean yeah and so what happened was we moved to this office everything was going well we were just smashing the fuck out of it as well.
1:12:17I've moved into this new flat, got this new flat. I was just on top of the world, done my ego through the roof and all. And then COVID happened and we had all these open positions. You get these things called forward contracts, right? It's too long to explain, but you get these open positions, right? Where you're exposed to the market movement. And when COVID hit, the market dropped like 13 % or something crazy. So like people were losing hundreds of thousands and it was like, it was ridiculous. I was having fingers pointed at me and there was certain areas where maybe corners had been cut and it was just ridiculous amounts of stress, man.
1:12:52I couldn't handle it. It was fucking ridiculous, man. I won't gain too much debt for better. It's a crazy story. But then everyone got furloughed. So we were sort of working from home, but we had all these losses that we were trying to clean up and we needed more margin off of companies to basically cover the losses whilst the market was down effectively, quite long story short. and it was like seven o 'clock one evening yeah and i was around my mate's house and i was on the at this point i'd started eating like all these prescription pills like valium and xanax and that but i was balancing it out with a gear with fucking yeah just so i could work right and uh so what so because you know how some people will do like coke because they love coke and then they'll they can't sleep so they'll do the xanax and stuff i was opposite the other way around yeah You liked the Xanax and stuff.
1:13:41I liked. What was it? Yeah, you liked. What were they giving you? What were them drugs doing for you that you needed or got something from? I remember I had my first Xanax. The first Xanax I had, I smashed my car. That's another story. That was when I was young. I never touched it. And then it started off with Valium, I think. I had a Valium and I was in a really stressful state. I had one, didn't give a fuck. and still managed to just like observe it, deal with it without worrying. Yeah, right. So I was like, okay, let's just fucking munch these. So I bought loads of them. Yeah. But then I'd eat too many of them and I'd fucking go weird.
1:14:19Right. So then I'd get the gear, get the Coke. Yeah. And level myself back out. Right. So I could then work. Yeah. You know what I mean? So I'd be getting like, I'd be doing all this quality work, wake up the next day, see all this money made, notes on the system, no fucking recollection of it at all. and what you just forget everything when you're on it I think it basically just removes like your fears so much that you don't even give a fuck about anything so you don't even remember it like I don't know I don't understand the science behind it but you just don't fucking remember anything yeah and this one day we had this one client in particular that was in a real bad position yeah and my boss rang me up he's like mate you're gonna have to call this geezer trying to fucking sort it out it's a mess and I was like yeah go on but I'm already at my mate's house and I've just dropped all these fucking pills so I'm like fuck better hurry up so I've rung him next thing all I remember is the phone ringing next thing you know it's the next morning and I'm face down on the carpet floor yeah that's seen from the hang of it so I've like I've like got up off this carpet floor got my phone next to me I'm thinking fuck looked at my phone there's a 45 minute call from this fella oh my word so I'm thinking shit look up my WhatsApp and my boss is like, well done, mate.
1:15:38Excellent job. Like, well done for getting that sorted. I was like, mate, still to this day, I have no idea what happened. Like, I know I got sorted, but I don't know how or why. That's mad. So another bad one was the time you crashed your car. Is this when you broke your back in your... Yeah, so what happened there? So 2020 now. So we're working from home at this point, right? And we're just like on it every day at this point and in a real bad place man when you say on it is these the like the Xanax yeah every day right every day yeah and were you addicted I don't know yeah probably yeah didn't think I was thought I was just doing it out of choice yeah right probably though what did you want out of it like when you were why did you feel the need to do it when you for the phase I was just on autopilot to be honest at this point just out like routine Yeah, I was just like, I just run out.
1:16:33I just feel like I need some more. Yeah. I wouldn't think about it. I'd just be like, yeah, go get some. Right. And so it was a mess, mate. And I was like sucking balloons and that flat out as well. Oh, wow. Yeah. So like one night, I'd been up all night on the balloons. And I promise this does get better as well. Yeah, yeah. We're in the trenches at this point. And I was on the balloons sucking fucking balloons all night. and then I wanted to go get some stuff so I've driven to my mate's house like 6 in the morning I'm knocking on the door these old man's like fuck off understandably so I'm like I'm like well no we're going fishing he's like you ain't going fucking fishing go away right so I've got back in the car I had this BMW at the time and I was flying through town like overtook this car hit this like island like you know the crossings with the little curbs in the middle of the road hit that it's flowing me over the other side of the road.
1:17:30There's like a grass verge parallel to where I'm driving. Yeah. Hit this grass verge. Taken off about 100 mile an hour. Chopped this tree in half. This big oak tree. Chopped it in half. And it went bang into this palisade fence. And all I remember was just like hitting this fence. And I couldn't breathe. I was like, I was like, fuck, fuck. I'm dying or something. I was like, this went on for like a few minutes. I've like managed to get my breath. And I'd look to my left and the roof is on the seat like the roof is crushed the whole car the whole car is crushed and the only space in the car is for me like I'm literally there like that with the steering or the fucking thing in my face and that I'm like you're conscious yeah I think the Xanax saved my life because it made my body limp because I didn't realise what happened I reckon if I if I weren't on it I would have tensed up and then it would have killed me but because I didn't realise what happened I just went like that and that saved my life not to say drive on it but yeah so what's what's you broke your back and your neck?
1:18:29Yeah, so basically what happens is I've ended up jumping out the window, I think. And then there's a tree just over the road. And I didn't think I'd been in the air. I thought I just drove into a fence. So this geezer's run up to me. He's like, mate, what are you doing? I was like, what do you mean? I said, why is there a tree in the road? He's like, you just fucking flew through the air and cut it down. I was like, no, I did not. He's like, you clearly did. And I was like, nah, that weren't me, mate. No way. He was like, well, it was. And police turned up. It's like seven in the morning at this point.
1:19:02There's cars everywhere. It's a main road. And there's cars everywhere. This woman was being probably nice to me as well. She was just like, sit down. I kept getting up, falling over. I got broken back, broken neck.
1:19:17And so police have come. And I passed the breathalyzer. So they started being nice to me. They're thinking, oh, he's concussed. I'm thinking, yes. And then they've drugged him. Because you hadn't been drinking. No, I hadn't been drinking. I never really used to drink. I used to have a beer all night. I'd have the same beer all night. The boys would always be like, you still on that same beer? Anyway, so they've basically... They breathalised you? Yeah, they breathalised me. I passed it. Then they drug test me. I'm like fucking well over the limit. So they've arrested me. But I'm on a thing like this, on a fucking bed, whatever it's called, a brace bed or whatever it is.
1:19:49Yeah. I'm on the phone to my ex-missus at the time. I'm like, oh, fucking, I've fucked it. I'm going to hospital. she's like what on earth has happened yeah and then I'm in hospital and basically what happened was they they found out that I broke my neck or they found out that I broke my back at first and there was like yeah you're gonna have to go upstairs so there was like we'll come and re-arrest you when you're able to be like re-arrested you're gonna be in here for weeks I was like fucking hell so I've gone upstairs yeah and the police have left and like it was COVID so there's people everywhere I was like fuck this and then there was this young girl I was like let me use your phone with you and she's like yeah go on because I lost my phone so I've rung my mum and I was like mum I was like they let me out for a fag I was like yeah meet me out the front 8 o 'clock so she's like yeah go on so I've watching the clock yeah I'm in bed like this yeah are you in pain yeah nah because I'll let them get loads of morphine so I'm alright I didn't really give a fuck and I actually didn't give a fuck as well That's how mad it is at the time.
1:20:55I didn't care. I just thought, fuck's sake. And then... Are you fully expecting that you're going to go to prison at this point? I was thinking... No, I wasn't even thinking that far ahead. I was just thinking, fuck. I wasn't even thinking. I was just thinking, fuck, that's a bit inconvenient. Yeah. And then it gets to 10 to 8, and I've like stood up out of the bed, yeah? And I've got a bag full of clothes, but they're all bloody, yeah? So I've like put each trouser. I'm ripping all my gown off, taking all the wires out of my arm, I'm like ripping them out of my arm and fucking there's blood everywhere.
1:21:28I've got these clothes on, they're all covered in blood. I'm like, I've got broken backs. I'm like now walking out the hospital like that. All the nurses are like, sit down. I'm like, no, no, I'm off, I'm off, I'm off. And then they were like trying to get me to stay down. Like all these different approaches. They would get the nice guy like, it's okay. And then you get this other geezer like, no, sit down. I was like, fuck off, mate. Yeah. And I just walked out. They were all following me. And then I've got to see my mum outside. she's like what the fuck I just opened the door I just got in she's like what are you fucking doing like I'm like mum just come and take me home otherwise I'm gonna just get in a taxi do you know what I mean so she's ended up taking me home and my missus at the time she pulled her mattress out on the floor she was just looking after me and like the next morning I woke up obviously I had no pain relief nothing do you know what I mean I was just sitting there smoking warheads like that and and then yeah I woke up the next morning I was like fuck I'm in a bad way yeah like I was in so much pain bro and I had to like so what happened is my ex-missage used to hold my arms like this and I used to like basically get my legs underneath me and then just like stand up really slowly and then go to the toilet and then get back down the same way it was proper bad and then like three days after she was like you're gonna have to go out of the hospital she thinks I'm dying that's her she's fucking sitting there I'm like in the sleep all busted all fucked yeah and three days later I basically I was like I'm not going A &E so she managed to work her magic on the phone get me like a direct appointment so I just walked in they strapped me up but at this point I didn't even know I broke my neck they just thought I broke my back yeah it was only like three four months later when I've gone in they was like yeah so your neck seems to have healed a lot better and I was like my neck they was like yeah I was like what do you mean my neck and they was like yeah you broke your neck I was like what you're lucky you're still walking in there yeah I know and then it took a while for my back to heal so did you not then get re-arrested then yeah yeah so then what happened was I was shitting myself for like ages six months I'm driving around again right I'm driving around again my lesson was don't take prescription drugs I'd never done never done one since to be fair I was so scared of them and then yeah what happened was I got a phone call from the police from the police like six months later I thought I got away with it they was like you're gonna have to come down for an interview and then I've gone down here with my solicitor not my nan
1:23:53and uh good one and all and we got in there and uh he's basically he's basically just like with just no comment at it all and he was like mate i think you might have got away with that to be honest with you because he said there's no evidence of you driving the car you've they've turned up when you're not in the car there's no cctv evidence and you were out of your head so you don't even know you were driving right so he said it might just go away and i was like fuck off surely not surely not do you know what I mean but in the back of my mind I was hoping that was happening and then I'd moved house I'd moved from the flat to another place three four months later I'm sort of like I'm alright we've now got an office in Maidstone because I was in a bad way so I convinced the bosses to let me open up in Maidstone so we now got an office in Maidstone and I was walking up the high street I was on the phone to my mum in a suit fucking walking up the high street middle of the day three o 'clock in the afternoon police can't pull up they're like Zach Wilson Zach Wilson you're arrested you're arrested for a failure to appear in court and I was like what do you mean they was like you fucking we've been looking for you why they was like we've been writing we've come to your address I was like what address I told you my correct address in the interview because I've moved by this point they put me in a cell for like over 24 hours and then it was COVID at the time so So it was a virtual call.
1:25:14So they come and got me in the morning. I had a phone call from my solicitor. They was like, it's all right, mate. This has actually sorted us right out that they've done this because we told them the right address. This is their fuck up. I know it's shit. This is going to help you right out. Yeah. So they come and took me in. And it was just like this fucking screen. Policeman there, a witness or someone there, other stuff in the courtroom. And my solicitor was on there as well. and then started off with a policeman basically grassing me right up, like making it sound like so bad. First to teach and now the police.
1:25:47I don't trust anyone that he's seen. He was like, he's done all this. He almost killed this person. I was like, fuck. I was like, no. And then my solicitor just come through with this like, mate, it was like a piece of art. Right. It was like, Zach has done this since then. He's attending therapy. He's done this, that. He's, you know, what you might have done though who's reignited all that trauma from doing what you've done and making the mistake that you've just done and putting him in a cell for however long when he's done all this work and the two women went outside come back through they was like right we're going to give you a 400 pound fine a year driving ban I was just like wow you'll take that yeah mate I was thinking I could go to jail yeah and then yeah and that was basically that so that's when you quit the prescription drugs yeah and then you you left your job in the city yeah no I didn't leave my job I just had an office in Maidstone so I was at the same firm but where I had my broken back I couldn't get up there a lot of the boys were from Kent as well so I convinced them to let me have the office in Maidstone but didn't you start didn't you then decide to start a company with your dad yeah so what happened was I so me and the bosses yeah we'd have our little fallouts and that and one day we had a proper fallout and I was just like I'm done didn't really mean it he did yeah so he was like oh you've made your decision now So I was like, fuck.
1:27:09Do you know what I mean? So I had to firm it. So I come away from that. And I was not working for a couple of months. And I basically, to cut a long story short, my lifestyle caught right up on me. And one day, I'd been up for like three days. And I just fell to the floor. I fell to the floor, mate. And my little dog, Lenny. Lenny is a massive part of the journey as well. so my little dog he was a got a little sausage dog that came to me like when I was deep in the shit and he anchored me a lot like without Lenny I reckon I'd probably be not here wow but trust me this little sausage dog he's an angel yeah little guardian mate like I'm so grateful for him mate and so I've fallen to the floor I've just woken up to Lenny licking my face going mad because obviously I've just had a seizure right in front of him fitting out stood up boom hit the deck again and I remember having the seizure this time so I was cutting I couldn't stop it.
1:28:05I was like, and I was like, I had to like do this to basically stop having the seizure. And I was in agony as well because my stomach was fucked. And I hadn't eaten. I was just sniffing ketamine and gear for like three days. Wow. Yeah. A lot of it at all. At home? Yeah. I was in a bad way. I was going through loads of shit. Yeah. And so I rung my mum. I'm like, mum, I'm fucking, don't know what's happening. I've just had a couple of seizures. She's like, flying straight around the house. They're in about five minutes. She's come through. I'm up the bed. She's like, what the fuck have you done to yourself?
1:28:41And then she started being nice because obviously she's scared, all right? I put her through so much fucking shit. So much shit, mate. And she's then just gone into like caring mode and called the ambulance. Ambulance come through. Yeah. Then got taken into hospital with him. You thought you were going to die? Nah, I didn't think I was going to die. Again, I didn't really, I was just fucking pissed off, to be honest. I was just like, typical, what happened to me? I was a victim, mate. I had no accountability. I was just like, oh, of course this would happen to me. Right, yeah, yeah. And then, yeah, I come out of hospital, and the next day, I'd had a little bicker with my sister.
1:29:24Yeah. Gone out, and obviously they've all thought, I'm going to fucking get on one and that. Yeah. So they're shitting themselves. Yeah. I've come home, and my mum and my sister have gone out to distract themselves or whatever they're doing, bless their hearts. Yeah. I've come home and my dad is in the garden just crying his eyes out, bro. Like, sobbing his eyes out. Like, sobbing like a fucking... Just crying his eyes out, yeah? And I've never seen nothing. I've never even seen him crying. Yeah, right. And I went up to him and I was like, you all right? He's like, no. He's like, I'm fucking...
1:29:56I'm going to have to bury you, son. He's like, I know it. I can feel it coming. I was like, I couldn't believe what I was seeing he was just like why why he said you know what he said to me he went he went I used to be so he said when I took you to karate when you was a young boy and you were scared of having it was like a ring and I had this little fight with this geezer and I was just scared he was like mate I was so proud of you because he was like I looked at you and he said I knew that you weren't a little prick like me he said I knew you weren't this horrible kid he was actually a nice kid and at that point I was just like I've been I've been trying to whack this way, you know, not so much the drugs, but like just in myself and my ego, like to try and impress my dad mainly and to fucking try and impress myself.
1:30:39And like, actually I was just a nice fucking kid. Like, and I was like, I grabbed hold of him. I was just like, listen, stop fucking crying. I was just like, I promise you now I am. I, this is, this is it. It's done. I said, watch, watch what I do for me. I promise you. And then, uh, let the flat go, come back with my mom in the gym. every day twice a day I used to walk like two miles to the gym twice a day like because I'd fucking on a driving band or whatever and sort myself right out like eating well sorted everything out and then like a month later because obviously I had no job a month he wouldn't have me at first because he was like I can't fucking risk bringing you in yeah got a big firm and that and then we went to Blue Water one day and he was just like mate he said I've been thinking and I was just wondering whether you want to come give me an ad and I was like really and he was like yeah he was like mate I'm fucking so proud of you son I was like yes dad I was like fucking 100 % and then the next day like I'd gone to work with him and like all the old boys a lot of the old boys were there now I'm there do you know what I mean I'm like quite bulky as well like had a bit of presence to me and yeah they all respected me and fucking and I was going around pricing up jobs with my old man like meeting he was introducing me as like as a surveyor and all this I fucking weren't so when did you decide that you and him were going to make a fan together so so what happened was like I reckon about six months in um so I met my missus as well like probably three months in my missus Remy she's an absolute angel she was just a huge blessing massive part of my life it was almost like I'd earned the right to have someone like that in my life do you know what I mean yeah right she's just a fucking angel mate yeah and uh so I met her she she was just like just amplified my growth even more.
1:32:31I was sort of having a conversation with, I was just like, Rem, I was just like, I don't know if this is fucking it with my dad. Like, cause I don't fucking enjoy it. This manual shit. Like everything's in his fucking head. I'm trying to introduce systems and he's just not doing it. Cause he's old school and I'm trying to go on him. Dad, put this, put this in the CRM system. He's just like, yeah, I will not doing it. So I'm like hard to work with me. So I was like, I'm thinking about pitching him this idea. What do you reckon? She's like, yeah, go for it, babe. Do you know what I mean? So I put this business plan together, Vertex FX, put it in front of him.
1:33:07I was like, what do you reckon? He was like, let's go for it, son. I was like, you reckon, yeah? He was like, yeah, fucking go for it. He said, let's get what you need to do done. And he was like, we'll go halves on it. Sweet. And he said, what we'll do as well, we said like, we won't touch any money out of it. We'll just keep investing all the money that we make into like the best brokers in the city. So we don't have to have any young 'uns. if it costs us 70 grand to bring over the best broker we'll do that we'll go for the quality I was like yes you fucking know and so yeah then we got it all set up and then what happened was probably took 3 or 4 months to get it set up and then April 5th is when we went live yeah that's the day you're launching this big project that you've been working on everything's all set up, infrastructure's all there it's the first day on the phones So I'm smashing everything, smashing the phones out.
1:33:57But for the previous two days, let's put some context to it. So three days prior, my dad set off on this journey that he'd always wanted to go on his whole life with his mate Dave, where they rode their motorbikes to Morocco from here. So they rode to Dover, jumped on the ferry, then through to Spain, whatever, and eventually through to the Sahara Desert. They're supposed to be camping, yeah? He spent thousands on all this camping gear, yeah? fucking didn't use it once mate just kept going to hotels like random hotels and that he had all this massive great big didn't use it once and so anyway yeah so so like two days prior to us going live we just fucking can't get hold of him he's now going through the desert so he's going through the Sahara Desert the signal's iffy anyway yeah we just can't get hold of him but his phone's ringing right so I'm like what the fuck is going on mate phone's ringing can't get hold of him the last thing he said in the group chat as well, mate, it was proper powerful.
1:34:56He put this photo of him, he was like, goodnight, Wilson's, love you. Right. Photo of him, yeah. And, so he's going, going through, we can't get hold of him. And then we're thinking, what the fuck? Like me and my mum are like, what do we do? His mate ain't answering the phone as well. I'm thinking, what the fuck is going on? And then, the day we're live, I've spent the whole, all day on the phones, I can't really get behind it because I'm fucking stressed about my dad. Yeah. And there was something in me. I kept having voices in my head saying like, fucking, it's all right, son, and all this shit.
1:35:29And I'm like, shut up. He's not dead. Yeah.
1:35:35And then I've rung my mum at like six o 'clock. She's like, no, I ain't heard nothing. And then it got to like 10 o 'clock at night and sat down to watch Avatar 2. We miss this. Right. Mustard film. And it's starting. And anyway, my mum calls me. She's like, I'll ring my mum quickly just to make sure she's all right. It's like 10 o 'clock. She's like, I'll be outside in a minute. I was like, what, you've driven to Essex? I'm like, fuck's sake. Do you know what I mean? Sanks that obviously happened. So I'm sort of preparing for the worst. I've gone downstairs. Remy's stressing out. He's like, what the fuck?
1:36:11Gone downstairs, my mum and my sister there. And they're like preparing to say something. I'm like, is he dead? And my mum just bursts out in hysterics. I was like fucking hell what happened and we didn't know like so anyway I didn't even mate I didn't even flinch I was just like is it oh fuck right I was shocked yeah I remember walking back up through the flat I was just like oh fuck's sake yeah right I was like fuck's sake mate that's a bit long innit and I've gone in there to see Remy I was like yeah dad's died she's like what I'm like yeah fucking jarring god that's the way the body fucking the mind reacts sometimes.
1:36:51She was like, you alright? I'm like, yeah, you coming to my mum? She's like, yeah, yeah, packed all the bag up, gone to my mum's. Mum's got this beautiful ass in Eccles, it's a lovely ass. We've got massive family. So a couple of my pals come round, I'm just with them and they're like, what the fuck, boy? You didn't know at this point how he died? Nah, we didn't know, like, we didn't know because what happened is the police drive up my mum's drive like an hour before she'd come to me. It's like, your husband's died and they were like, what the fuck?
1:37:22Like three weeks, like I'd just wake up and my mom's would just be fucking people everywhere because we've got such a big family, right? Everyone's just coming to support us. Like my aunties and my uncles, we're really close to my auntie and my uncle and my mom's sister. So yeah, I was just strong man. I was just holding it together. And then I'd go up the barm where the horses are at my mom's house and I'd just be smoking loads of weed. To me at the time, like weed was, it wasn't, it was like drinking a cup of tea, mate. I didn't think of that as like being bad. like bad I don't smoke it anymore right the cycle ended right it doesn't align with my journey anymore so how did your dad die so yeah it turns out so we didn't find out for months mate months months months mate we didn't we just didn't know we didn't find out what were the police saying I don't know I don't know they were basically saying that they fucking don't know right I think they were saying that he had a crash yeah they were saying he had a crash they were saying that he like because he was laying up against this rock and they were fucking saying that maybe he had internal bleeding or something.
1:38:23Right. Fuck no. Yeah. He had blood coming out of his mouth and all this. Right. Turns out, like, when he got home, it took us ages to get him home as well because they're fucking useless over there. They chewed his wedding ring as well, the Moroccans. Wow. You know. Yeah. Maybe, hopefully, it went to a good cause. Do you know what I mean? Hopefully it fed some children or something. Yeah. Right. But, um, it got, yeah, when he come home and it turns out he'd had a heart attack. He had a, he had an enlarged heart and a fatty liver. Right. So it just basically just went bang and they reckon he would have died before he fell off the bike.
1:38:55Really? Painless, instant. Right. What happened with his friend if his friend wasn't answering the phone either? Apparently the old bill over there told him that he was sworn to secrecy and there are laws over there. Whatever. But that's another story. But yeah, it was mad, bro. Yeah. It was mad. Do you feel like it ever actually hit you? Because obviously you were quite strong throughout all of it and didn't really react when you first found out but was there was there ever a point where you were like fuck this is real yeah good question we had the funeral stayed strong for that just got pissed and that basically and that evening I was with all my pals and I fucking burst out in hysterics like when I was with my pals but it was only for like a split second I was like no I'm alright back in do you know what I mean but I weren't like giving it any attention yeah I'd be up the barn mate I'd be fucking in bits up the barn but then I'd sort myself I'd come back down and nothing had happened and then it got to a point where I remember I went out with my mates like who I used to go and get on sessions with and I went out with him and I obviously subconsciously just put myself in that situation and ended up getting on drugs and I'd obviously been off the drugs for like an hour and a half year and a half year and a half oh so you were clean for a year and a half yeah then your dad died and that's reset you back to your old ways sort of yeah and I just I remember going out and I remember my mindset everyone was doing it and I remember thinking it makes me more of an addict if I can't just do it once that was my mind playing and I was like oh okay so to really overcome the addiction I've got to do it once right yeah so then I did yeah and then it fucking happened like five six more times yeah and then the final night I was I was with my mate Garvin and we was just on one and he went home and and then I was in my mum's house and she obviously thinks I'm sober and I was there They had to suck in balloons and that, fucking sniffing kit.
1:40:48It felt like my whole body was shutting down and everything started disappearing. Everything I could see started turning into fucking nothing, basically. And it was like my eyes were stopping working. So I was absolutely terrified. And the answer I had, I was hearing alarms in my head as well, like, that weren't even there. It was like something was trying to warn me. Fucking bizarre, mate. And the answer that made sense to me at the time was that I've got to do everything I can to get energy moving through my body. Yeah. So I stood up on the bed. I was screaming, because that's what made sense.
1:41:20Yeah. And I was just like, shadow boxing, I was screaming. Mum's fucking come downstairs, three o 'clock in the morning. Seeing you do that. She's like, what the fuck? Are you on your own? Yeah, I'm on my own. Yeah. In my mum's house. Yeah. And there's balloons everywhere and fucking cats everywhere. Yeah. She's like, what are you doing? Yeah. Obviously, she's now fucking terrified, thinking that I've gone back to my old age, which I had. Yeah. And then she sort of sort of calmed down a bit and then in my mind I had a thought come through about a shamanic healer that my mate had met previously.
1:41:52Right. I remembered his name and everything. Yeah. So I found his Instagram and voice noted him. In that state? In sort of, yeah, about a couple of hours later when I was sort of like calmed down a little bit and I messaged him I was like, mate, I fucking, I need to, I need help. Yeah. I can't be doing this again. I don't know why. I sort of understand a little bit about what you do. Don't know much about it. But I think it's the only thing. I just don't know. I need your help. And he explained to me, he was like, yeah, mate. He was like, what we'll do is we'll flush all the shit out of your system with the Cambo, which is the Amazonian frog poison.
1:42:26Right. Is that why you've got a little scar on there or not? Yeah, yeah. I've got a few of them. I've done it a few times. So what do they do? Talk us through Cambo. I've not really heard of it. So basically, Cambo is, I'm not fully clued up on it. I'm not a holder of this medicine. I can't serve it or anything like that. but I know it's legal in the UK. What it does, it has these peptides. As far as I'm aware, it has these peptides in it, right? And what it does is it draws all the toxins. And when you do drugs and stuff, a lot of it gets filtered by your liver. And then that's what basically keeps the physical addiction going.
1:43:01So as far as I'm aware, what it does is it draws a lot of that out into your stomach. And you have to drink like a big two-liter bottle of water before you do it, right? And they burn these holes on your arm. And then put the poison on. Put the camber on. Yeah. The medicine on. And then, oh, it's heavy, mate. It's like you're dripping with sweat and you're throwing up. Obviously, it's the first time I've done it, mate. I don't know this geezer. My missus is sitting there. She's thinking, what the fuck's going on? Where's this happening? Up in London at his house. Right. I've gone up there like the following Wednesday.
1:43:33Has he pre-warned you what's going to happen? Yeah. He said it's going to be uncomfortable. I've done a bit of research by this point as well. and I was like, okay, let's just go and give it a go. So I got through that process. It was about 20 minutes and the amount of shit that was coming out of my sick, like all this black, horrible stuff that was coming out and these toxins and I couldn't believe it. And then that calmed down and I'm laying there like shaking but sort of feeling good at the same time. And he's like, okay, you ready for the next medicine, which is the DMT, the dimethyltryptamine, right?
1:44:08And I'm like, not really. but let's have a go yeah so i've gone back down to the mat and i've just like had four four puffs on this on this uh medicine and there's all this shamanic music going right so this beautiful music like it's feminine music right and all the visuals opened up and dmt right is what it is is is your pineal gland it releases dmt dimethyltryptamine when you're born when you sleep and when you die. This is what I've heard, yeah. Yeah, so it's like the gateway, right, to the higher realms. It elevates your consciousness, right? So you're able to enter into other places that we don't usually have access to.
1:44:54There's a scale of vibrational frequency that keeps us in this realm and it sort of pushes us past that point. Same like when you're drunk, right? Alcohol is so low vibrational. You know when people go blackout drunk can do crazy shit it's because they've dropped below a certain frequency so then other low vibrational shit can come through I'm like and that's why they do crazy shit because it's not them it's because don't they say that DMT it's like because it's the chemical that's released when you're born and when you die that it it's like an ego death isn't it isn't that what they say yeah well it's basically just like it's the understanding that it gives you and that's where the ego gets deflated in my experience anyway so it's like I've had this DMT next thing you know i've just had all these crazy colors and spirals coming across and it was a little bit overwhelming i was like what the fuck and then this woman started singing and every all my anxiety just went gone and i was just like that's what it felt like i was just like oh my god all this crazy shit mate going on beautiful man and then uh i've come back and then uh the healers my healer his face was just in front of me just like waiting for me to get back like this and I'm like I'm opening my eyes he's there he's like sick in it I was like mate I was like what on earth was that he was like mate it's a mystery brother it's a mystery and uh did you say your girlfriend is just watching you doing all this yeah she's watching it so what did she say afterwards or she afterwards after it all happened she was very she was very worried in the moment as we both were yeah it's crazy to see that yeah especially when you've got no understanding of it right but what's she seeing you you're seeing this woman sing to you yeah what's she seeing you seeing me like this oh so you're not even doing right and uh yeah so from that point on bro my whole life changed like i have i completely understand but you know when i was explaining about the energetics right and the the low vibrational um drugs and stuff why would i ever consider doing that again like i understand it right so you so since then you've never touched recreational drug never even never had a drink never had a drink mate never even thought about drugs how long ago was this uh it was start of 2024 oh wow so a year and a half yeah fucking hell yeah and that was such a big sort of crux for you like something you'd lean on almost every day the recreational drugs back in there and it's just gone what what what other changes have you found from in your brain um how do i word this are there beliefs that you had beforehand that are now different yeah so you get these limiting beliefs right you you you grow up is you get a lot of self-sabotage as well a lot of it is guilt that you you hold for yourself that you then subconsciously punish yourself through right and it's then understanding that like basically everything you've gone through everything you've done all the shit that you've held guilt for no It's just lessons, mate.
1:47:53It's just led you to this point. And then it's having the awareness to step away from that guilt and then create structure in your life to ultimately gain your respect and your love back for yourself. It's called alignment, right? Right. So, yeah, it was a slow process of education. And then that guy introduced me to my new guy. He's leader, a guy called Tao. He's the best guy ever, mate. He's part of an indigenous family in the Amazon. and does all these quests and these crazy shamanic, you know, these quests ultimately, right? And does all the healing work on himself. And then he comes back over here and webs that.
1:48:36Right. Is this something you now do, like, often? Or like you have to do every, because you've said you've had the frog poison multiple times. Do you need a top up? Do you have to do DMT again? Or is it just the poison? or like so how often are you doing this so he so when when he introduced me to tayo um i went and saw him and did the cambo again and did the five meo dmt which is basically the dmt from the toad from the back of the toad and it's like completely different it's got an extra oxygen molecule attached to it so it's like it's totally different right and you just have this one path of this glass thing and you just and you're just gone like i had a complete rebirth from it twice where I completely turned into energy forgot I was ever a human being and then when the time was right I came back into my body How long did it when you were in this trip could we call it a trip?
1:49:29Call it a journey When you're in this journey how long does that how long does that take until you're back conscious and you again? Everyone gets very scared about, you know, going on these crazy things, but they always give you what you need. If you respect it. So if you're going into ceremony with the intention of healing, then sometimes you can just get a few little nice bits of visuals and come back. And then the more you do it, the more, the further you'll go into it because you're able to receive it.
1:51:27Last thing it's going to do is scare you, right? It's intelligent, mate. It's spirit, bro. It's the creator, right? So it gives you what you need. So like, you know, for me, the first time I was very aware of time. And then, and then when I done buffo, I was not so aware of time, but I was still very comfortable. so when you say not so aware of time does that mean that you felt like you were in there for years or you had no concept no it's not like you feel like you're in there for years it's just like you just don't think about how long you're in there and then when you come back you have no perception of it as i it's hard to because time is linear here right in the third dimension but then in the higher dimensions time is non-linear right so it doesn't really exist right it's hard to explain right and it's irrelevant when you're in that time doesn't matter you just sort of it feels like a big spiritual cleanse then when i came back into my body i was like right how how can i be the best version of myself and and and then you know ayahuasca i've sat with a couple of times and ultimately all of these medicines just just basically put you in a position of full accountability so like all of that stuff of being a victim, it's just like, it's just not useful.
1:52:41Everything in your life, everything is down to you. Everything that happens to you is down to you, right? And it's a lesson, ultimately. And until you understand it's a lesson, you're just going to keep receiving them, right? And they're all blessings, man. So then it was like, okay, right, what do I need to create in my life to support me? And this has taken a long time to figure out. And ultimately, for me, that comes down to a few different things. It comes down to unconditional love for my family, showing up for my family. It comes down to nutrition and energy. And, and, you know, it comes down to the doing the willpower.
1:53:20So like boxing, sauna work, cold therapy. These are all things that like keep me breath work in a state of discipline, leading by example, doing things out of kindness. It comes down to the music that you listen to. like I don't watch any dark TV at all no nothing no because it's tuning your subconscious right and you're absorbing it and the music so what are you watching nice documentaries I educate myself yeah I'm busy with work a lot of the time to be honest yeah but like I watch jokes films I watch Disney like old funny Disney films yeah like just light hearted stuff mate right I just don't want to see someone get shot in the head like yeah it's just don't align with me so like I'm just very aware with what I let in what I what I let into my life and so yeah the music was a massive massive thing like I used to listen to rap music and all that I now have replaced that with what you listen to on the car on the way yeah like shamanic music like medicine music beautiful like beautiful music what would what when Zach who I'm sitting here talking to today what would what does he think of previous Zach is he understanding yeah he's understanding yeah man yeah I understand that it's just trauma right it's just like things happen in your life and there's a lot we ain't discussed as well a lot we ain't discussed i wouldn't be prepared to discuss and um you go through these you go through these traumas and your ego tries to protect you right because like back in the day you know back when we were like fending for ourselves you had to pretend to be this way so someone yeah but it's just it just doesn't work in this in this world do you know i mean and you've just got to uh be aware of that and just just understand so ultimately get into a place of not judging anyone you know including yourself and then just being open to to learning like it's just education ultimately so talk us through this birthday party you had where your life changed again for another reason yeah okay so so yeah since then it was obviously like ceremony work still just like shedding the old skin away i sold all my clothes on that you didn't get the um the huff clothes back i stole all up my designer clothes yeah because it was just like representing my old self right so what are your clothes now what what what why did you choose that t-shirt i just like it do you know what i mean yeah i just like it yeah simple yeah like and it's and it's not a million pound yeah so do you not have any ego now is that what do you believe you don't have an ego no i do we all have ego and it's not all gone in i'm just very aware right so like someone pulls out of me in traffic immediately i'll go but then i'm like okay no right this doesn't serve me right this is actually creating danger okay right you know i mean yeah just having the awareness to come back to your breath yeah okay i'm not i'm safe right he's pulled out of me this is if you see a tree fall and then you now put it back up yeah yeah it's just a it's just a it's just lesson and the tests yeah and then when you actually realize that everything that happens is a test you can start to pass them and it starts to better you as a person.
1:56:28Okay. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. So I just try and understand that sometimes I fail, mate. Sometimes I'm not a fucking expert, mate. Sometimes things happen and I react and sometimes I'm like, I don't care, I will react. Yeah. But then afterwards I'm like, let yourself down there, brother. Right. Come back, sort it out. Next time you get better. Yeah. Yeah, it's just been a process of fine tuning. Do you know what I mean? So you sell your clothes? Sold my clothes, yeah. Just started to wear nice clothes that I actually like. I just sort of try and act with intention. It's all about everything's intention.
1:56:58Okay, am I buying this because it's got a logo on that I think is going to make me look really fucking successful? Yeah. Or is it because I just like the clothes and now I just wear the clothes I like and you can still look smart. So what's the thing around your neck? This is ayahuasca. What is? This here. Ayahuasca root. Oh, right. Yeah, so ayahuasca is made from a root mixed with a certain vine and then it's processed and or you know uh made in a very specific way with with water but this is the root wow the grandmother yeah yeah i bought this from uh one of my close mates this amplified by copper oh fair yeah man powerful means a lot to me yeah nice so yeah put that in the hall of fame yeah yeah i was actually thinking yeah so so you have this party on for your 27th birthday right yeah yeah and this is where you discover sounds funny to say but you discover fruit Yeah, so like a lot of my pals by this point sort of started walking the path as well because like they're seeing me get better.
1:57:56They're like, well, how can how can I do the same thing? So then they're starting to loads of us now. Right. I now hold meditation, breathwork ceremonies and stuff. So they come and work with me and I mean, we just all work together. So anyway, it's my 27th birthday in February and I had all the boys around my mum's house. And we got the decks out. So I'm mixing music. A few of the other boys are DJs and that. They're around. And I basically bought this massive box of fruit from the internet. There's a few exotic firms about. Just ordered this big box of fruit and we're just munching away. What made you do that?
1:58:29What made you go for that? You just fancied it? Yeah, I had one a few months prior, a little one. Yeah. And I liked it, but didn't think much of it. Well, I can't say I didn't think much of it. I liked it, but didn't really like connect the dots or like look into it much. I just thought, yeah, that's really nice. And it was also a box where half of it I didn't like. Yeah. it was like when you go too exotic there's a lot of things like snake fruit and that I'm not a massive fan of so half it I was like maybe not is that just because you're having a party where before you would have done drinking drugs but now you're having this party and you've not got that so you're like I need something so we've just got this massive box of fruit we're all eating away and I'm thinking fucking hell it's a vibe innit like we're we're having a good time here aren't we boys like there was jokes mate we had like a table full of like Evian waters and that like everyone's just eating away and like and it was like a proper vibe mate I could probably feel it I was like And I was like, God, this fruit's powerful.
1:59:24Do you know what I mean? And then I started to educate myself on the fruit a little bit more and understand a little bit about it. Mangostines, that's where they came from, right? So I was like, fuck, you know. I'm trying to stop swearing, by the way. I'm not very good here. No, you're fine. You're fine. That doesn't matter. Just in general, it's so hard to stop swearing, man. I'm trying. I will get it done. Anyway, so yeah, we were having this fruit. And then the boys, they were like, where'd you get that fruit from? So I'd introduce them and they'd get a bit of fruit and stuff. And then I found another, a couple of months later, I found a, I wanted it.
1:59:59I've been thinking about it ever since. And I just never got around to it. So I found a supplier and went and got it. And then I brought it back. And one of the other boys was like, oh, I was looking for that as well. So I was like, oh, I'll go and get you a box if you want. So I went and packed the box and stuck a tenner on it. Brought it back. Didn't really know. They weren't like a good mate or anything. Weren't mugging me mate or anything like that. and I thought, right, hold on, that's work, do you? And then someone else wanted one, so I was like, okay. So then I started to like, actually, firstly, educate myself on the fruits, and what they do, and some of the history, still learning.
2:00:33We're only 10 weeks in, right? Yeah. So I'm still just learning every day, and it's a lot, mate. I was never good at science. Right. So I was trying to understand it all. Yeah. We're definitely getting there. We're definitely 100 % getting there, but, and then eventually, I sat with it, and I was like, because obviously I'm busy with Vertex. Yeah. But I do have a bit of spare time because we've got like a couple of partners on now that take a bit of the weight. And I was like, you know what, I'm going to fucking go for it. And then the fifth orchard came to my mind. And I was like, the orchard, right, is where we plant the seeds.
2:01:05You know, it's the seeds of ideas where it all begins. And then the fifth is the fifth dimensional way of living. So like all this that I'd learned from like raising my, elevating my consciousness and entering into these higher states of, of consciousness, these higher realms, these higher dimensions. It's all led me to, to here. Right. So, so yeah, it just, it went together. It was like planting the seeds in the orchard for people to live in line with the fifth dimensional way of thinking and, and, and, and consciousness. Right. And I thought that fucking sounds good. You know what I mean? and then i got the logo sorted and i was like you know what this is just this is just meant to be and then everything fell in line right like we found this amazing supplier who like basically uh have connections all around the world and he was like mate if you ever fancy it just like let me know we can have a sit down i love love your your thinking i was like let's sit down yeah let's sit down and then and then yeah sort of like got all the products that i wanted to sell and developed the website developed it myself well proud of that as well never done that before so it took me days while staying up all night getting everything sorted and then and then part of setting the website up was educating myself because on the website you'll see under the fruits all about the history all about the nutritional value all this stuff right so that was a big part of me educating myself and and and you made this and put it all in did you yeah man yeah done it all so yeah it sort of just got to that point and then set the instagram up went live got the bank accounts all set up got the face of it all done um figured out the logistics side of it and i just thought let's have a go mate and this is where this is where i meet you on your journey you messaged me gave me a box uh box of fruits for which i'm very thankful for um and you've actually brought some fruits in today right yeah so i think it's about time in the podcast we've got about 25 minutes left we'll try some fruits stevie and we'll learn as much as we can about them but let's give it a go hooking what a journey up to this point mate No, I know.
2:03:05It's crazy, man, isn't it? Let's get the fruit out. Right, there we go. Power of editing that. That's the magic box of fruit. Now, listeners, I will just say, as Zach talks us through this fruit and we try the fruit, it's probably going to be more visual. So if you are listening in the car or at home, just when you get back, whack it on the TV and watch us try these fruits. I'm going to move the laptop out of the way, because I imagine it might get a bit sticky. Let's kick it off, Zach. What have you got for us, mate? How are we going to eat them, though? good point yeah you got to wait for the spoons yeah all right please run to get some spoons well just talk us through what one are we going to eat first talk us through through one so you can tell us a bit about okay so this is sour sop right right sour sop yeah yeah okay it's like a lot of people's favorite fruit in the world it looks a bit like a beanbag can i feel it yeah of course be careful with it very fragile it's like a like a porcupiney bean bag.
2:04:00That is fragile. What were you going to say? I don't want to offend Zach. Can we tell him what Fiona was doing when he left the fruit suffer? Yeah, tell him. It's not our problem. Fiona thought that looked like a penis. I don't know what part of that looks like a penis. I see what she's saying. So she got it out and was doing that with it. And that's not respecting the fruit. Not good. so fee fee has fruit disrespect yeah we'd never do that no no i see well and and what's why is this the um the like people's favorite fruit it's the taste mate it tastes like it tastes like pineapple strawberry a bit of mango maybe it's like a concoction of them all really mixed with like ice cream and i'm eating ice cream it's it's unbelievable i'm in i'm in i said i don't like fruit i like ice cream you would like fruit though what do you mean you don't like fruit Look, I was brought up on takeaways.
2:04:58Potato smiley. And burnt potato smiley. So I've never really delved into the world of fruit. Can you eat a banana? Yeah. Can you eat an orange? Yeah. Melon? Orange, actually. I don't like all the white bits. I don't like the texture of a lot of fruits is my issue. The white stuff entirely. That's like the healthiest bit of the orange. Yeah, I don't like... Is it? I find textures really weird, so I struggle with things like that. What's some fruits you don't like? Or do you like them all? I like most of them, to be fair. I like most of them you know about durian that massive great big sparky thing that everyone eats no it's massive you say everyone eats I don't know anyone that's eating durian it's like it's like this massive great big thing from Asia and it stinks right you've never heard of it nah it stinks but everyone loves it I think it tastes like too garlicky for me oh right it tastes like garlic I don't know about that how many fruits are there because if you'd have asked me I'd have guessed 30 There's two to four thousand that have already been named and recognised.
2:06:01You weren't far off then, Jack. Yeah, wow. But then there's 70 ,000 fruits in the world in existence that we know about, including the variants. So the different types of apples, the different types of oranges. So there's a load of mangoes, is there? There's 500 mangoes. But that other mango thing we ate at the beginning weren't a mango. The mango steam's not a mango. No, it's not mango. There's 10 ,000 different oranges, different tomatoes in the world. 10 ,000 different types, mate. I like tomato on pizza. Yeah, nice. There you go. See? Well, you didn't like fruits, mate. I like pineapple on pizza as well.
2:06:37Yeah, that's controversial. Fruitarian, mate. That's controversial. Yeah, the whole fruitarian thing we did that time. Yeah. This is also, this is the fruit that everyone discusses about anti-cancer. Oh, okay. Yeah, so it's full of these compounds called acetogenins okay um which are said uh to basically block cancerous cells without damaging other cells okay so like you know with chemo and that it blocks the cancer cells but it also destroys the healthy cells as well right yeah so this is this is this could potentially help it could potentially be a huge game changer i mean it's done wonders all around the world for people that need it but yeah it's a very sensitive topic so i'll just leave it down to people's own research really yeah i was going to make a video on it the other day but i'm like I've lost a lot of people to cancer myself this is maybe not what people want to hear necessarily yeah so well you're not claiming it's like a real like it's going to cure the world but it may do mate the research on this fruit is crazy like the effects that it has on cancer and other stuff as well it's crazy it's full of flavonoids as well and alkaloids which basically support serotonin and dopamine in the brain so it's a real so instead of doing pills at the rave you could do one of these yeah just have a sour stop yeah exactly when's that Zach was messaging me the other day.
2:07:54He said that party that he had with his mates where they were all doing fruit, he said, I didn't even need pills. Turns out I can just munch a mango. I thought that was quite funny. Right, yeah, don't worry about making any mess, mate, because we'll sort that after. It looks fucking weird, this. It looks a bit like cod. Yeah, it does. It does. Look, the inside looks so much like cod. Yeah, mine are seeds. Mine are seeds? Yeah, mine are seeds. I don't know if I'm getting a seed. Right. Probably the big seeds, Jack. you can see there alright so there's a seed there you go that'll do yeah there's a seed in there those you can spit it out though can I?
2:08:28yeah okay let me let me try and get this what are your thoughts on that Jackie boy what are you tasting? that's fucking well-nuched mate that's the best thing ever right that is so nice so good man oh that's made a little squelchy sound oh my god I'm scared is that got a seed in it? and the black stuff you see as well it's just it's basically a sign of like pure ripeness really? yeah yeah that's the seed inside there isn't there how do you not get a seed there you go that's not got a seed if it has got a seed just spit it out I'm going to have some more of that that is I can't can you eat it from this side as well then yeah yeah eat as much as you can it tastes like like a sorbet yeah yeah I don't know why I said it like that sorbet but it does taste like yeah it tastes like I'm eating ice cream in a way yeah it has loads of different flavours in it I can't even pinpoint it yeah yeah right this here is the red dragon fruit yeah I've heard of that yeah that looks that looks crazy that knife is mad by the way whoa yeah the knife's sick innit did you send me one of these yeah man yeah you've got one that's not frozen now yeah yeah yeah because I had one that was frozen I put my fridge up too high this am I right in thinking this was my favourite one oh hello it's really good for supporting blood because it's full of iron it pumps the the blood full of oxygen.
2:09:52Yeah, that's lovely. It's got all these crazy compounds in it as well. These compounds that support the blood. You were saying, I think you were saying that this one doesn't have H2O in it, or it will have H2O in it, but it has H2O3 or something? H3O2. H3O2. Most fruits have it. It's called structured water. That has a really high content of it as well. I feel like it doesn't taste of anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like it just tastes of nothingness. Yeah, it's very... it's very hydrating. Yeah. It's a hydrating fruit, right? Some fruits aren't supposed to taste unreal, man. Yeah. Do you know what I mean?
2:10:27Yeah. Definitely don't taste how it sees. No. Yeah. That's it. This right here. Backing on the ice cream. This, mate, this is sick, mate. This is one of the rarest fruits in the world. Yeah. It goes back over 3 ,000 years, this fruit. And it goes back to the Shiva temples all over India. Right. Worshipped, man. And it's ridiculous, bro. So what is this called? It's called Stone Apple, otherwise known as Bale. And very, very good for the gut. The compounds inside basically collect all the toxins and flush the body. Mate, that is the stickiest thing. Yeah, it looks like it's got like honey or whatever.
2:11:02Oh, mate. So am I just getting this bit? Yeah, just have whatever. Like you just eat the whole thing inside. And it's got a texture a bit like, I don't know. It's a lot harder than the other fruits. I'd say that texture is a bit woody. It looks a bit like pumpkin. Yeah. Do you know the wood on the trees of that fruit gets used as sage, Paolo Santo? So that uses a purifier. Right. Yeah, man. Real sacred fruit. That's different to anything I've ever had. Tastes a bit like sticky-topped pudding, did you think? Yeah, it does. It does. It's dessert-y. It's very dessert-y. It's so unusual. I'm going to...
2:11:37I like them all so far, though. Yeah, man. As a man who doesn't eat fruit. What have we got next, Roke? Turns out I do. so next one we'll do is this one this is called a yellow pitahoe dragon fruit sweetest dragon fruit on the planet and it is used to prepare the body for fasting oh okay the fiber is perfectly balanced with the h302 so it basically uh it coats the gut right yeah it's beautiful thank you mate you like this one yeah i did like this one stevie don't be off-put by the look of this one because this one has the worst look because it looks a bit like sort of frog spawn or something. It does look like frog spawn.
2:12:19That is the perfect way to describe this. Oh, it's so nice. How would you describe the taste? It's like very, very watery. It tastes a lot like water, but it tastes like flavoured water and it's like very... It's not too super sweet, but it's really nice and I really like all the little black seeds gives it like a nice crunch. Yeah, I thought the seeds would put me off, but the crunch is actually quite nice. Yeah, that is nice. Some from your side. Yeah. Amazing. You've not failed so far. I bought one of the best ones, man. When I heard you were fussy, I thought, right, I've got to do it. Right, here we have light cheese here.
2:13:00You had light cheese before, bro? No. Never had light cheese. Really? I've heard of them. Mate, so these here, one of the literally the most royal fruits in the world. These used to be delivered, hand-delivered, thousands of miles to like the Chinese royals. Okay. As like science symbols of like of love and respect. Do you just bite it like? No, no, no. Sorry. Oh my God. That looks like Piglet from Winnie the Pooh. So what I'd do is I... Oh, what? And then if you just put that in your mouth and then squeeze. What would you... And squeeze it out. So how do I just peel? Do you eat the whole thing?
2:13:32The whole thing. It's got a seed inside. And you just peel. You get rid of the seed. There we go. Squeeze it in your mouth and then it'll come out and then bite around.
2:13:44I might just nibble the top.
2:13:50That's very watery. That tastes a bit like fish. No. Am I losing the plot? Fish? Yeah, I don't like fish.
2:14:03That's so fishy. No. Fishy? It's not fishy, is it? Am I losing it? I think you might be. No, I'm joking. Bea, have you had a lychee before? Yeah. I'm not getting cold on this, do you? Right, star fruit. Yeah. Oh, that looks cool. I don't know if you'll like this one, because it's... It tastes like fish. It's the fish fruit. So it's very high vibrational, man. It's very, very... Uplifting. when you say hi what uplifting is in thank you is in terms of mood pardon do you mean when you say uplifting do you mean yeah am I going to be off my nut on the train home on whatever this is that one tastes floral that one tastes like how that one tastes a bit like a lettuce with some dressing in I was going to say it tastes like a flowery apple oh yeah it does taste like an apple a flowery apple do you like it?
2:15:03I don't mind it this one tastes more like something I've had before. Yeah, like a pear or an apple. Yeah, do you know what? The taste is not like too tropical. I use it as medicine, right? So I ate it on the way here to like get me going. Right, oh, right. Yeah, to get me going, man. So they all have different qualities. Yeah, they all have completely different qualities, man. So that's your new way of doing a quick line. Yeah. Star fruit. You'd eat a whole one for that or how much how much would you munch into the whole thing eat it I like this one this is my favourite one I think so this is Fajua mhm bro I found this the other day mate it's so sick what you're new to this one yeah this is new was it Fajua Fajua yeah it's comes from New Zealand and and all over South America and it's used to fight depression okay and here mate Joe it tastes like the the sour apple to it.
2:16:05It looks a little bit avocado-y on the outside edge but then watery on the middle. Yeah, it's known as guava stein. So how do you eat it? Just spoon in. And you can actually eat the skin on it as well. Oh, can you? What, you'd just eat all of that, would you? I'd just eat it all, yeah.
2:16:23It tastes like a sweet. Yeah. It's unreal, innit? It does taste like a sweet. That's like a... What? That's so weird. it's like haribo or something that i'm not crazy about the taste of that one really no ah see preferences are such a weird thing yeah it's full of something called ethyl benzinate and methyl benzo right which what it does is it um it basically it it it calms us down immediately and and and it triggers our vagus nerve as well what's that then it's it's it's what changes the whole emotional state of your mind immediately bomb it's used all across um south america to fight depression oh wow yeah it's like proper medicinal man wow yeah man crazy he's it's a different world isn't it it's an absolutely different world why is that the reason we don't know more about this or is it because it's different in the different cultures and we live in a bit of a you know i don't get too much into the negative way of talking and thinking right You find the solution and move on.
2:17:25But the system that we're in is like, there's a reason why there's just all the food. You can't even buy a sandwich without it being full of, it dims us down, right? Yeah, right. And ultimately, without going too much into it, if everyone had the insight that we have on the fruits and stuff, it would cause a problem with the economy, right? Yeah, right. Pharmaceuticals and it would change massively. I mean, a shift's happening, right? But it's like, this is what we're trying to do. We're trying to spread the information. without any negativity. This is the information. This is how you can use it in your life.
2:17:58Right. Yeah, fair enough. Yeah. Do you understand what I'm saying? Yeah. I will say, I can't believe how disgusting that one looks, but how nice it tastes. Yeah. This is part of the same family. Okay. It's called custard apple. I've heard of this. Did you ever go on this one the other day? I might have done. Let me have a look inside.
2:18:15Really? Custard apple. It's also known as the ice cream fruit. Okay. This sounds like me. I like custard. I like ice cream. Thank you, mate. Buy the seeds again. Thank you. Yeah, Fee, is this the one you said tasted like vanilla ice cream? Again, it looks a bit like fish from a fish and chip shop on the inside. Yeah, it's fleshy inside, like a fish. Like under the batter, that's what...
2:18:39Wow. That is ice cream. It's beautiful, man, isn't it? It's probably one of my favourite fruits, definitely. That's so strange. That is unusual. I really like that. I remember, Fee, you were buzzing about it the other day when you had it.
2:18:54yeah that one tastes like ice cream Fee when I leave here later are you going to just be eating these fruit right here we have golden kiwi I've never had normal kiwi really no how because I'm fat I'm a little fat bro right so this is golden kiwi right so this is like a very special kiwi and it releases melatonin, right? Okay. So it prepares us for sleep. Oh, okay. It gives you such a better REM sleep. Oh, wow. I'm going to be high and asleep on the train. Nice balance. Can you eat the seeds? Yeah. Right. I'm going to be honest. I don't know if I've had a kiwi before. Really? Yeah. How have you never had a kiwi, bro?
2:19:38Look, neither of our parents did well for our food. Yeah. It also has these compounds that allow us to retain more protein. so if you're going to the gym and that eating kiwis is really helpful for gaining muscle. I'm just going to have to start smashing kiwis. I'm going to have to have another go at this. I liked it. Because I think I'm going to give you a big statement in a minute. Yeah? Favourite fruit? Might be my favourite. Really? It's powerful man isn't it? We have these ones that come into season at the start of the summer called rose gold kiwis and they're red inside. It tastes like jam.
2:20:08Really? Yeah this is really nice. Here's my favourite one. I don't know if it makes me basic for liking this one. Would you say this is more of the basic one? How different to standard kiwi does this taste? It's a bit more melony and a bit more lighter. Okay. I really like that. Yeah. Right, so this is a special, man. This is one of the rarest fruits in the world. Coconut. It's called a sprouted coconut. Sprouted? He's brought a hammer. He's brought an actual hammer. So this coconut here, yeah? Yeah. So most people don't know that coconut is actually a seed. normally. Okay. And if it's left long enough in just the right condition, it will turn into a palm tree.
2:20:51Right. And this is the start of a palm tree right there. Okay. And it's so rare because usually coconuts are harvested to sell, right? So they're chopped down. Yeah. They have to be left to fall on their own and then land in just the right conditions, the right moisture, the right temperature. And what will happen is it will create this texture inside.
2:21:14Oh, shit.
2:21:21right okay is this a bad time to say i don't like coconut i think you might like this i know i don't like normal coconut so i didn't like normal coconut either okay so if you just take a big bit out of it at the middle yeah you're probably better off just right with your hands to be honest oh really yeah pull it out oh yeah what the hell it looks like foam yeah so It's enzymically, if that's the way you pronounce it, activated already. So that's what feeds the tree. That's so weird. That is so weird. Tastes like bounty. Oh, I hate bounty. Oh, maybe not then. Give it a go. I think it tastes a bit like sugary.
2:21:56I like it. It's got an earthy, well, obviously, but it's got an earthy taste. I don't think it tastes anything like coconut. Do you not? I really like it. It's cool, isn't it? Yeah, it is cool. Strange texture. It's like styrofoam. Yeah. Yeah, look at this. Look, loads of packaging. You could just squeeze it. Yeah. Let's get it going now. Yeah. He loves the fruit. Let's have a go on that. See, I'm so oily as well. Oh, it's unreal, man. Yeah. Yeah, they're really, really rare, man. People sell these for like 50 quid. Really? Yeah, because of that rare. How much of this fruit do you go through a day in your personal life?
2:22:33I go through probably that box a day. What, you're at all of this? Yeah, I reckon, yeah. Every day? Yeah, about that. on top of your food at main meals. Yeah. Wow. Your chicken, rice and sweet potato. It's probably calmed down a little bit now. Yeah, quite a fair bit. Yeah. A fair bit, mate. Not these trophies, like the Spratt & Coconut. They're really expensive. This is cacao. This is ceremonial. Right. So this is special. This is where chocolate comes from. Oh, okay. Wow. The cacao fruit, right? I like chocolate. You're back onto a winner. So this is real special, man. This is a ceremonial fruit.
2:23:11It comes from South America. They also come from Africa. And they're heart openers, right? So they're used by the shamanic tribes and the indigenous in ceremony to connect us to our heart. They're theobrimine, which is a compound that basically literally rushes blood full of oxygen to our heart. So it clears any blockages that's in the way. Oh, wow. That's why cacao ceremonies often end in tears and lots of laughter. Oh, really? Yeah, man. It is like powerful. Cacao was known by the indigenous old Mexican tribes as heart blood. Heart blood. That's what it means. And it was used before going into battle to basically, the opposite of fear is love, right?
2:23:56Right. So it was basically used to fill the body with love to combat fear. Wow. And they go into, oh, man, it's so special. So special, man. What's it smell like? Very sweet. Very sweet. Thank you, mate. I'm going to have to have some. So, yeah, man, you just grab a little bit out and just... Cool, that does smell sweet.
2:24:26Is it just these little, like, cloves that you eat? Yeah. Eat the whole thing, yeah. Very bitter inside. Chewy. You like it? Am I eating the sage? beans cacao beans so what happens that's very bitter do you like it? don't love it that's strong because it's like because I'm chewing it it's like a nut it tastes like a nut it's like the yin and the yang isn't it sweet yeah I'll be intrigued Fee can you try this one because you like every fruit and that one's so different I don't know if you'll like that I've seen online that if you eat it without a seed It doesn't taste more sweet, but can you eat not for the seeds?
2:25:11You'd have to suck it all off.
2:25:16We've got another of this. Just bite into it.
2:25:23I've never, ever in my life tasted anything remotely even close to that. I think it's really bitter. Yeah. Yeah, so what happens is they get the cacao fruit, right? They get the flesh out and they let it ferment. Right. And they go through a process of fermenting it in dark and in sun. and then what they do is they will press it to separate certain compounds, right? And it turns into cocoa eventually. It turns into cacao paste. Cacao paste is what they, I think I've fluffed that explanation a little bit. The cacao paste is in its raw form, right? It's after it's fermented, after it's roasted, right?
2:25:58That turns into cacao paste, which is used in a hot chocolate. It's like a ceremonial hot chocolate. and then what they do with it is they press it to remove the compound so that turns into cocoa eventually and they add dairy and all this other crazy stuff that turns into chocolate oh right, wow I'll tell you what it tastes like to me if you were to take dark chocolate cook it and slightly turn yeah right so I've also brought some mangoes I'm going to give you two very different ones I love a mango smoothie big fan of a mango smoothie Okay, so this is the Julie mango. Mm-hmm. And I'm gonna need to cut that open, so if you pass me that.
2:26:39Yeah, let's put that there.
2:26:43Chop the lychee.
2:26:50Oh, that looks good. That does look good. Mate, the amount of times I almost chop my fingers off.
2:27:05Thank you, mate. Nice one. That's the Julie mango. Is it different to a normal mango? Yeah, well, they're all different types, right? So. Oh, my God. Oh. Powerful, right? God, that is fucking beautiful. That's incredible. And they're all tree ripened mangoes, which is why they're so different to the supermarket. In the supermarket, they're picked like months before, or weeks before they're ripened. Yeah. It's like on a boat. these are on the tree until they're at its full ripeness and then they're at their freight as well. That's the best mango I've ever had. That's the best one. Yeah, I know.
2:27:37It's the first time. It's nuts. Yeah, that is insane. This is a Hayden mango. That's like if you got a mango and you injected it full of steroids and it become a mega mango full of flavor. That's insane. Yeah. In fact, Stevie's eating it always. It tells you everything you need to know. Sorry, brother. You know what I mean? It tastes like you're drinking a smoothie. And this is... You might want to clean that one, Fee, when you eat it. You'll see this is a totally different texture inside. We just completely both ate that whole bit. Yeah. They're drippy, these ones, aren't they? Yeah. That's a Hayden mango from Colombia.
2:28:20That's different as well. That's nice as well, though. That one's not for me. Is it not? Love the first one. Julie's my girl. Sorry, we're not really talking much in the mic. Trying all these different... Honey mango.
2:28:43Oh, that's got a weird taste. Let's try a bit at the end.
2:28:49There's loads of different mangoes. Yeah, the mangoes, they're full of mangithrin, which is a really good antioxidant. So they're full of something called amylase which is an enzyme, right? And we already have it in us as well. In our saliva, all through our organs, in our pancreas. So it's like it's meant to be eaten by us, right? It matches with us and then it basically improves our overall well-being and our digestion. Obviously, we're still educating ourselves on this. As far as I'm aware, the main benefit of the mango comes down to those two compounds. All the mangoes are banging. Fia, have you got anything for my hands, please?
2:29:28Yeah. Thanks so much for bringing these in. No worries, brother. Yeah, it's fucking insane. Another thing is what you were just saying. They're so fresh, aren't they? Yeah. I've got one last thing to finish it off. Yeah? What the hell's that? So this is a shaven coconut, yeah? Right. So we'll finish it off with a beverage. A beverage? Yeah. Oh, you drink it? Yeah. Wow. So the liquid in here is literally the exact same as human plasma. What? So we're drinking human plasma? It used to be used in World War II. Yeah, it's all good. It used to be used in World War II when the IV drips went about. so they'd literally inject it straight into the veins and it would balance us out.
2:30:26It literally hydrates the fucking life out of us, basically. Wow. It fills all our body with goodness, so you just...
2:30:35And this might change your opinion on the coconut, to be fair. Scared. Yeah, that's good. What does it taste like? It's good. Does it taste like coconut? I'm scared. No, it doesn't taste like coconut. I don't know what that... I can't... I'm struggling to find the words. It's like coconut cake milk. Tastes a bit like a cocktail. Yeah. Yeah. It does. It tastes like it's milky, isn't it? It's got a milkiness to it, would you say? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Lots more to that as well. That's decent, that. Yeah. How much liquid would be in there roughly then? I don't know in terms of actual measurements. Yeah.
2:31:10Probably like enough to fill up a big glass. Yeah? Yeah. Wow. Oh, you could hear it all sloshing about inside. Yeah. Yeah, so the young coconut, yeah, it's different to a normal coconut because it's picked way before it's ripe or before it's ready to go. So you've still got that growing life force in it. Do you know what I mean? So it promotes growth within ourselves. Yeah. It's fucking unreal, mate. Mate, you've treated us today to all these fruits. Look at them. They look beautiful laid out on the table. And the hammer. And the hammer and the big knife. Zach, thank you so much for coming in, mate.
2:31:45Thank you, mate. It's been a pleasure. I'd shake your hand, but it's covered in fruit juice. Oh, and the kiwi thing is banging. I like them all I'd say 80 % hit rate for me oh and this as well there's a special place in my heart for this styrofoam I love that I love that Zach this has been great mate it's been brilliant hearing about your whole journey and I've only known you for a short amount of time but I'm proud of how you turned your life around mate so thanks mate yeah keep it up mate keep it up Zach this has been Jack Makes Happy Hour podcast from me Jack mate Stevie White and Zach what's the meaning of life?

When Jaack received a chance DM one day from Zack Wilson, who offered to send out an exotic fruit basket, Jaack was compelled to learn more of his story. Zack’s early life was the polar opposite of what it is today - from being excluded from school 25 times and battling bullies after being diagnosed with Freeman-Sheldon syndrome, to wild nights out raving and severe drug addiction. After a near-fatal car crash and the sudden death of his father on the day they were due to launch their new business together, Zack found himself at breaking point… then a box of fruit on his 27th birthday changed everything.
Zack has now turned his pain into a purpose, by dedicating his life to learning about the healing powers of thousands of varieties of fruit. He shares which fruit is the most underrated medicine, and how you can use the properties of certain fruits to replace the feelings once gained through hard substances. Zack details his experiences with drugs Kambo, Bufo, and Ayahuasca, and exactly what happens when you visit a shaman. He also brings in a giant basket of exotic fruits - some we’ve never even heard of - and we end the pod with a taste testing!
This is one of the rawest (excuse the pun) and most inspiring stories we’ve ever shared on the podcast.
