In short

This episode is a mix of personal updates and “news” from the hosts, plus a long segment about Robbie’s family doing karate and his plans to get an allotment. Robbie and the others discuss being ill with back-to-back colds/possibly flu, then swap holiday stories from Spain (including a bad hot tub, a whale-watching trip with “zero whales,” and a musician encounter). Robbie’s key “news” is that his kids Arlo and Kitty started karate, earned medals at a club competition (Kitty: bronze in kata, gold in kumite), and Robbie is aiming for future belt progress. He also explains an allotment open day: choosing a plot based on size, seclusion, water access, and rules (60% veg requirement; bonfires allowed until end of March). Notable examples include the “beer border” video concept in Belgium/Netherlands enclaves and Becky falling into a bush while filming.

1:46jack mates happy hour hello guys welcome back to jack mates happy hour podcast it's another monday or thursday depending on when we put this out i'm pretty sure this is thursday is it yeah because we've just put out Dick Bush after four main shows. Yeah, we just sort of do what we want these days. I think people were annoyed that it was recorded in October. Yeah. So I think we should, in every ep, we should talk about as if it's October 2025. Like just talk about like a football picture at the end. Just do that the rest of time. Just constantly just reference whatever's happening then. It isn't that we just do what we want.

2:22You've just been horrifically sick. We've had to cancel episode recordings. Well, Dick Bush and Mark Clattenburg were both recorded in October. No one knew about Mark Clattenburg because we didn't say the word October. So they're getting annoyed about it. But you didn't know that it was October unless we'd said. So what is the difference in the content? And also, I just responded to the Reddit and I said that the plan was to always hold them back a little bit. We didn't know which episodes to hold back, but we knew we would hold back. Dick Bush was due to be this Thursday. So today, technically.

2:55Yeah, but the reason is because getting guests over the Christmas period, over the New Year period, and in early January is a nightmare. So we always try and hold some back. So that's the only reason that we did it, okay? And also, I have been pretty ill. You have. You had two colds, didn't you? Double cold, yeah. Double cold. Bad cold. I'm going to say maybe flu. Double flu. Really? Because not just a bit of a great nose, like properly. But knocked KO'd. What I found amazing about the Christmas special episode of it, there's hundreds of comments and stuff mostly shows things about him and john but but the entire thing in all the comments there's not like a single mention of me in any way i was literally room meat i just sat there i didn't do anything didn't contribute anything didn't didn't annoy anyone didn't say anything good just sat there being ill in the corner until it was time to go home room meat that was room meat charlie hodson brought you in didn't yeah No, but happy Halloween anyway.

3:54I've just got over this cold. You sound like you're still kind of got it. Unseasable cold in October as well. Unseasable to get so many colds in October, isn't it? Yeah. I had it before. I had it early January, early October. I had it early January, and then I had a holiday booked, right? Yeah. And the first day of my holiday still felt a bit shit. second day kind of forgot about it and enjoyed my holiday and it was good and then i got back to england thinking right let's get back into the swing of things back into work had lots on last week had a guest booked in he was very excited for yeah done more research for this guest than i've ever done for anyone right i'm a super super big fan of this guest woke up the morning of the guest thought i'd pissed the bed i went what's going on there she had to cancel Nigel Farage

4:42guys i'll get him again i'll get him again i like you you sent me a voice note and jack was like i can't do it steve i've never heard you sound so sad i was sad i was like i just because what i did as well sometimes when i wake up i feel a little bit rough so i was just like right i'll have a shower get ready and then see how i feel had a shower got ready it was like piss my trousers when you i just turned out i just kept pissing myself no i was sweating i was sweating when When you'd messaged me at like 6am, I was like, something's really not good. Yeah, weren't good. Or he's getting in. Yeah?

5:14Yeah, weren't that. Let's not plant that seed on the Reddit field, because that will turn into a prickly little bird. Yeah, yeah. And they're different messages then. Do you have anything for an all caught up little segment? And if you've just been, I guess you've had the holiday. Yeah, it was good. Fair. That was good. It was just holiday mates in Spain. what was the single best moment of it probably the went to a big water park he was banging on about that though so I won't bring you that Jack went to Sion Park didn't bring us a hat didn't get you any magnets or any any tat you know that key ring that you got you left it in my car I've been looking for that I'm never buying a gift again no it was lovely thank you it's just it's not the end of the world that's left in Jack's car I just saved my trip to the cherry shop also you know them Scion Park hats yeah they're one euro each I said that did you?

6:17I said it on the episode did you? that's quite clever from them yeah because they're getting free advertisement people go whoa we're not free I actually bought four because I was like oh we'll get one for Isaac and stuff and now they're just they're just sat on the floor in my stats yeah I need to bin them stop buying us stuff okay I remember that. Well, your birthday's coming up. Yeah, I don't want anything. Unless it's£50 in value or more. And he wants the receipt to prove it. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Also, my birthday's six months away. Yeah. Good. No, so what was the best bit? Ah, I'll tell you what was quite good, actually.

6:53The first sort of morning, I was walking out, because we had this big Airbnb in this sort of hilly area, and I had to walk down to the bottom to put the bin bags out. I was putting the bin bags out and this car sort of just pulled up on the side of the road real quick I was like oh the guys jumped out English fella and asked me for a picture said he liked the pod and that so I was like oh okay cool and I was like I knew straight away I was like you must live here the way that you just pulled that car up you know the roads a bit too well and he turns out he was a musician and he said oh if you're about later come and see me play I'm going to be playing in this bar down the road his name was Jack Bennett so I was like yeah alright His name was Noel Gallagher.

7:37So I was like, yeah, probably going to be a bit shit. But if I can convince the wider group, we'll go down. We went down, right? Well, first of all, there's no way this story's going to be. And it was fucking awful. Yeah, it was brilliant. Yeah, so good. And I looked on his Instagram and he'd won like Tenerife's best music act, best live music act, 2024, 2025. And he was like an acoustic singer. But like, what's it called when you like do it quite quick? so it's like it wouldn't be like i would what but it'd be like i would walk them it's got a stomp pedal and stuff yeah that kind of shit yeah and we were just going off it was brilliant yeah it was really good yeah you text me about this yeah didn't what what's the text you sent me what that alfie was cracking up at i can't talk about that on here i can't talk about that on here i actually can't talk about that on here have i not been involved in this bantz I can't I can't let's just move on let's move on oh one of the waiters over there I became best mates with him like every single night he'd seen me he'd come up to me cuddle me hug me did you go back to the same place every night?

8:43no no no but we'd walk past that place why was he so into you? oh I don't know I think he just sort of he sort of just vibed with me well so you'd walk past and he'd run out and be like hey the first night we went and watched like the football in this bar and he kept coming up to me and was just like hey sleepy boy because I kept yawning and I was on my phone because I weren't very well. And then we just really got on and then every single night I'd go past, he'd run up and he'd cuddle me and it was just something about me he liked. What's he liking? I don't know. I couldn't work it out. I don't know if it was just...

9:14Every time I'd see him, I'd give him 20 euros. But I think he liked me. As a tip? Yeah, just for being him. But I think he liked me. Well, you were just... Well, after you ordered food and drinks and stuff or you'd go to and go, all right, mate, it's 20 euros. It did get like that. how much money do you think you gave him over the week? Six euro. Why? I swam three times. First time, I was watching football. He was brilliant all night. Cracking jokes. He was like he was an entertainer. He should win Tenerife's best act. Like Jack Bennett. It's him. How often are you seeing him during the evening?

9:49Well, that was the first night. He was coming over to our table all the time. Baby Guinness shots, like chatting to us. One of our friends knocked salt off the table, smashed it, and then he hit him that was a woman that dropped that actually oh right sorry very sexist of me to not think that women can drop salt and then later on in the night a couple of hours later he brought tequila over and wouldn't give her the salt and it was oh it was great it was great callbacks callbacks and that's when you've gone out of 20 man and at the end they paid and the bill was like 119 euro which is quite a lot over there for drinks we got a lot of drinks you know what I mean that's cheap isn't it like 119's a lot So imagine how many rounds he'd have to bring And I was like, shit, they didn't tip him So I went, mate, give him a little Why'd you not under the table?

10:34I wanted to be the guy Put your hand and shake hands Yeah, sort of like flick it like that And then next time I see him, he come running over Hugged me, I was pissed Called you sleepy boy? Called me sleepy boy What just for that? I was hammered What was the third time? Did he do anything for you? Did he just give him money? The third time he tried to stop me him right he said no yeah he said no it's okay he thinks you're you're wanting something he thinks this is some like mafia thing or something like where he's gonna owe your favor yeah i don't know i was literally i don't know what i was doing i'm too nice sometimes when you drink yeah terrible sober terrible sober yeah but yeah it was a good it was a good holiday um uh hot tub weren't hot that was one of our main complaints in the airbnb in the airbnb be that it says beautiful skyline apartment with hot tub wasn't ever hot warm warm tub no cold tub cold tub just tub just tub yeah there was water in the tub but poor tub wet tub wet tub it was a wet tub but didn't get any sun on me nothing it was all good didn't get any sun on me how have you gone to tell her if you've not got any sun on you no sun on me look you mean you haven't got a tan Yeah.

11:54Have you ever had a tan? You don't know if you'd have tans. I've tried. I've tried. Did you burn? No, I didn't get any sun on me. Apparently, sunbeds are a big thing with the youth these days. Yeah, bad. Bad? Yeah. You end up looking like Dale Winton. Yeah. He's dead, isn't he? Yeah, he's dead. I mean, when he was alive and orange. I went... And then eventually, if you get too much sun down, you will be dead. You will. You will. You get skin can. I we also went on a just me and Fee and two others went on a whale watching expedition say any whales? zero whales so you were just watching? they said definite whales no they said like Donald Trump definitely whales no they said maybe whales probably dolphins definitely turtles No whales.

12:50No dolphins. No turtles. You've had hot tub with no hot and whale watching with no whale. Went on a boat. And I cannot tell you how sick I felt. Because two hours out, fine. No, an hour and a half out, fine. Sunny. Sunrise. Sunset. Sorry. Then the boat comes back. Weather changes. Sea gets choppy. Choppy, stormy, horrible. Belly. Horrible. Cold. No whales. how much did you pay that's 60 each 60 bunts yeah each yeah 240 yeah that's 60 times four yeah to not see anything no they said whales maybe dolphins potentially turtles definitely yeah did you at the end did you go turtles definitely yeah I did I did well some other guy did and I'm behind him ready to back him up He was like, we didn't see a single turtle.

13:50And she went, I'm very sorry. She went, what's your name? She's writing these names on the list. And she said, you can come back for free at any point. But you're not going to, are you? Well, this was our last day. Yeah. Last day. This was our last day. We wanted a swan song. We wanted a whale song. Yeah. That is sad. But when you're on the boat, everyone sits at the bottom, but then there's four seats at the top behind the captain. And I clocked that. I was going on, it said four minimum. I'm like, get up there. It's four of us. You could have taken a picture of Fee with a whale there and gone princess of whales or something like that for Instagram and that would have been a good caption.

14:22Why would I need a whale there?

14:27It's a joke. Oh, wait.

14:33So you had a good holiday. Sorry, Fee. I'll do it. That'll be fine now. You seem to have sorted out that potential problem. A minute later. Sorry, by the way.

14:49I will forget I've said that when we leave this people have to edit that back yeah she'll probably have quite a lot of emotional issues quite a while now I'll tell you how this is going to go eating disorder that's how it's going to go mate I can tell you it'll be Tuesday next week I'll be playing on Fortnite she'll be on the laptop headphones on editing the episode and then she'll just take a march you're a cunt and you'll go listen a minute i say sorry come on stevie let's shoot these eight-year-olds that's how we go you know what robbie on our we got the train in together today and on the train he just turned to me and went i'm gonna be really good on today's episode so far i'm all right i know i'm gonna go as far as to say as your 2026 is off to a flyer on it thank you you're performing very well thank you yeah yeah i think it helps that we're recording this earlier than we've ever done and i'm normally exhausted by the time we record it true yeah this is by that he means we're recording in october yeah yeah yeah and it's um it's quite big so i've just bought my fireworks for bonfire night in a couple of weeks it's half 10 which means i was literally asleep an hour ago how mad's that that is mad yeah we got on a train together at 8 a.m How was that?

16:10Lovely. Was it? Yeah, I have my headphones in. Robbie actually left the train, because Robbie got to the train station before me and he said, how long are you going to be? And I said, I'm walking now, it'll be 15 minutes. So he left the station and came and walked to meet me. Walked seven and a half minutes, met him. You were already there that early? Yeah. How'd you get there? I'm always early for things. How'd you get there? I got the 15A bus. Wow. People and buses and that. I can't believe it. What? I don't know how people get buses. Yeah. Well, you came up last night because you didn't want to wake up early today, didn't you?

16:41What is it about buses you didn't get? I just don't. When they go on and get in the 15A, it'll go on the A11 past Spicksworth up to the R2. If you do buses, you get to know the buses you want. But also there are apps. First Bus app. And there's also the Connect Bus app. Use the First Bus app first. It's very Norwich Central, this. Because it also will tell you about the Connect Bus. Where Connect Bus kind of bitches. They won't tell you about the First Direct one. The First Direct. There's a bank. The First Bus one. So you use that one, and then you can go to find out the exact times. Because First Bus will say, there is another bus with the other company.

17:15We're telling you that. But they won't say, it's about to come, whereas the other app will tell you it's about to come. He's not getting a bus. I'm not getting a bus. No, I'm just trying to help. I'm just getting an Uber. But I got a bus in Tenerife, and it was meant to drop me off at the Nice Beach, and I didn't know when that is. Did you not use maps? Well, yeah, but like, so you've got the beach here, right, at the bottom of the map, and then it's like going parallel to the beach. What did you say to the driver? Can I go to Nice Beach, please? No, I just got on the bus, tapped, and sat down.

17:42And then so everyone was already there. And then so it was going like that. And I was watching the map. And I was going, at what point do I get off? Because it's kind of like, do you gamble? Do you take one more? Is it going to get me even closer? And then I was right close to where they were. And I thought, I'll stay one more. There might be a stop just up there, like 20 yards. And then it went 20 yards. And it turned right and just started going back up into the mountains again. I was like, what do I do now? So I had to get off at the next one and walk down the mountain. Not a mountain, it was a hill.

18:11I don't know how you do life. Well, I've barely been doing it this year. He doesn't smash it, does he? He did text me the other day saying he feels like his 2026 hasn't started yet. Well, it hasn't. I've literally... That's a good way to be, though, isn't it? You're coiled like a spring. Ready to go. Yeah, ready to go. I'm not still ready today, as we speak. But tomorrow... We're going to recoil you. I would not like to be tomorrow. No. That's why I'm going to batter it. Okay, right. This is... Yeah. Sounds aggressive now. Less about my holiday. I've got a funny little thing that I saw on TikTok I wanted to ask you guys.

18:42How do babies, this is not an original thought. How babies made. How do babies know not to say the word say? What? So when you're going to a baby, say mama, say mama. How does the baby know to go mama? How does the baby not say the word say? Yeah. Because I reckon you'll say, I reckon you're probably going, say mama, mama, mama, if you are doing that, you're not going say mama, say mama, say mama. I think you're saying say at the beginning and then you're doing multiple mamas. Oh yeah? Probably, yeah. Say mama. Mama. Well done.

19:26That's blown your tiny little pea brain. Yeah, I feel like you probably just don't say say that much, do you? Yeah. I think a lot of times you will just go mama, mama you won't even say say at all no, no you won't fair enough shit TikTok not even good what have you been up to Robbie? oh lots big news in the Knox dojo can I just interrupt? please I've been meaning to bring this to the pod for a while do you know that that sort of like weird theory that if you don't know a word for ages then you see that word and you understand it and then you see the word come up everywhere yeah it's got a name isn't it?

20:04Yeah. That's my word at the minute. Dojo. I never knew what that meant and now I see it all over the place. Lily Allen's done a lot for that. Has she? Where are you seeing it? Probably that song. I've seen people on Instagram. I think Bev had it in a story and I've seen it loads of different places. I reckon I've seen it five or six different places over the last two weeks. Well, as you know... I don't know what it means, really. You just said when you know what it means. Yeah, but I know it's a place you can go. Okay. Isn't it? You can go to all places, really. But yeah, it's a place where you would train martial arts.

20:41Okay, cool. Normally. Oh, so the Pussy Palace. Yeah. She thought he was doing his martial arts there. He's got a gaffe just for karate. No, he hasn't. He's fucking women in it. He pretends for that. She thought that. That's almost more respectable, though. What? Yeah, loads more respectable. Of course it is. That's her point in the song. She thought it was a dojo. She didn't have a problem with a dojo. She has a problem with him. No, I'm saying it's actually more respectable that he's just fucking loads of women in there. What? Than doing karate? Yeah, but imagine you've got your own house in New York just to do karate.

21:18How much money have you got? He's a multi-millionaire actor. Well, at least he put a few women in there then. Just to be clear legally, this is a song that may or may not be about any particular people that she's written. Right. Right. But maybe the character in this is an actor as well. If I come to you and I went, right, Pod's been going really well. I've just got a second house. And you'd be like, right, who's living in that? Your dad, your sister, your nan? I went, no, I'm just going to do karate in it. You'd go, what a cunt. And then I went, and also, Stevie, don't tell V that I'm going to fuck with.

21:48You'd go, fair enough. It makes so much sense. I missed it. Wouldn't you? Yeah, it is mad just to have a building to yourself. You could go to a dojo, couldn't you? Yeah. Surely he's not that good. You go to a hotel with fuck women if you want to. That would be cheaper. Yeah. We're getting off topic a little bit. This episode is brought to you by eBay. I love eBay almost as much as you love football cards. And I do love football cards, Stevie. You're just in my house, haven't you? I have got piles and piles of collectibles. The annoying thing is, though, I've got quite a few swaps. Well, seeing as it's free and pretty easy to sell on eBay, why don't you just sell some of those cards?

22:30There'll be loads of people out there who want some of those. That's a good point, Stevie White. I mean, I love all of the cards. That's why I collect them. But when you've got two of the same one, that second one is just not as special to me as it could be to someone else. Well, do it then. Why are you still talking to me? Whack it up on eBay and get some of that money. Yep, I'm already dreaming of the bids flowing in. When it's this easy to sell for free, you can't help but say, when it's eBay. Excludes vehicles and business sellers. This episode is brought to you by Born in Roma Fragrances by Valentino Beauty, the iconic fragrance duo.

23:54From athletic to athletic-ish, Sierra's got it. Anyway, so you were doing the episode. News from my Knox family dojo. As you are aware, myself, Arlo and Otto started karate early summer last year. So only a few months ago. Now, yellow belt. Cool. Yeah. Is that good? Thank you. It's better than white belt, red belt and orange belt. Four. Four belts in? Yeah, first one's three. First one's start belt. Okay. three gradings right all with merit or above just saying but recently Kitty my daughter started doing karate as well joined in not traditionally a sporty girl I'd say never really shown much interest in sporting stuff on the weekend two of my children Arlo and Kitty entered a club karate competition and Kitty brought home the first medals for Sensei Pigwidge in his dojo with a bronze in kata and a gold in kumite which is fighting.

24:59So yeah, how good is that? She can proper scrap. She was good, yeah. She beat someone up. She, I mean, it's, you're not supposed to be like, it's contact but not, you're supposed to hit them but not hard. Is it like Karate Kid where they do like, as soon as you get a hit that then counts as a point? Yeah. So it's like that, yeah. I wasn't there. Bev took them for reasons you'll find out in my next bit I'm all caught up. But yeah, how exciting is that? Yeah, that's pretty good. So are you all yellows then? Kitty's not. Kitty's a red belt, so she's a couple of rungs down. Still got gold. Still got gold, yeah.

25:29And she was fighting a purple belt girl. Do you go all together at the same time every time? Most of the time. But for example, one night Arlo has cubs, so he can't go. We go then, but yeah, we generally go. So we go four times. We train four times this week. When are you... Four times? Yeah. Wow. When are you entering a little fight tournament? I would like to see what the men's competition is like first, because there are some people who are hard. And I am a pussy. So I'd like to watch a bit before I enter that. I'd do the cat a bit because that's not getting hit, but I'd like to see. Can people come and watch?

26:06I don't know. If you enter, we're watching, surely. I don't know if I want that. Why? We'd be cheering you on. Would you though? Yeah, we'd have big foam fingers and everything. Well, we'll see, maybe. I don't know. Big foamy fingers? No, like... Robbie's number one. Oh, right. Yeah, I definitely don't want that. Yeah. No, I don't want that. You want that. I want that a bit. Well, I'll let you know if Sensei Pigwidgeon has any actual fights. Okay. But so far, isn't. But that's exciting news. What's next from yellow? Green. She'll be doing that in March. My belt for that, hopefully. So why couldn't you go and see Kitty win our gold?

26:43Well, let me take you back three and a half years. Bronze. She won bronze in Kata, gold in Kumite, We were both listening to different bits. He was listening to it all. You were listening to it all. To be clear. Yeah. Don't try to make you equal. He was good. You were all right. Sorry. Go on. So I'm going to tell you why I couldn't go to the competition. Besides being a pussy. Let's go about three and a half years when I'm in the gym with Alfie Indra working out. He's living in Norwich. Was that three and a half years? I'm guessing something around that. Three years. a few years ago when we were we used to go to the gym together and we were discussing um how we quite like the sedate things in life do you know i mean just the relaxing sort of stuff um because i'm old now he's mentally old so i um we were saying how cool it would be to have an allotment just pot around an allotment so i went home that day and put us down on the allotment waiting list forgot I'd done this a couple of weeks ago little email you've got to the top of the allotment waiting list my friend oh my god there's an allotment open day at the allotments come along have a look at some plots see if you're interested in any of them if you are could get an allotment so myself and Otto Otto was going to enter the karate competition more interest in allotment yeah we went along to allotment open day first great thing name of the man who was organising the allotment open day?

Read the full transcript

28:17Herb. Oh! That's incredible. Great, great allotment name. Fucking hell, that's good. That's so good, yeah. Lovely man as well. So basically, we went round and first of all, some local, some people who had plots there already take you around the allotments to have a look at the allotments. But after a while, they say, you're right on your own. You seem, we're like, yeah, we got a map and everything. Oh, what, they're showing you theirs? Well, they were showing us, one of the guys that we did show us his. It was amazing because he'd only got it last summer and it was, you look at it, and it's completely overgrown and he's only showed us it and it's amazing.

28:45So, went on a tour of the allotments, had a look around, you've got your map and there are different categories of how much of a state they're in. A, pristine allotment, someone's just given up. So basically, people have either died, because a lot of people are old, given up their allotment or not being able to do it or they've just not really, it's gone to pot and the council's taken it off them, essentially. So there's different reasons. Some of them, relatively recently stopped, are in a not bad state. They've had a bit of growth over the winter and that. not bad state so they go a b c and d the d ones if you take on a d one and prove it you get your second year allotment free fees for free because they really want me to take these some of them were a right state like just stuff on them and you've got if there's rubbish on it you got clear up so they might be old broken plastic and stuff like that some of them some people built like weird conservatory on their allotment you'd have to take that down if you wanted rid of it did you ask for a d1 uh there was something you don't want to put down just one essentially 30 plots available 18 people at a lot of open day so oh so you're guaranteed one you're guaranteed one with a bit of flexibility but you can put he said put down a few options that you want so we've been in order our six favorites yeah we'd hopefully what are you basing them on well various you have to weigh up all the options yeah you want we didn't want to want one too small yeah didn't want one too big either right because a lot of work big yeah is it like when you make a sim and you have to take some off like charisma but it adds to like the attractiveness and you have to balance it out very similar very similar yeah didn't want one near the main road what do want more secluded so people can't see my business yeah don't want my business cannabis farm cannabis what are you doing what's your plan for your allotment uh growing vegetables like all allotments and cannabis and you don't want people to see you growing vegetables um yeah i want to be away from the road so it's a bit more peaceful and calm i want to calm my way to this not a busy road yeah allotment yes so go around and look at all these places but some of them had like you can inherit like a greenhouse they might have a greenhouse they're bummed there but it's really overgrown there might be other junk and all this stuff different things so you've got to consider how close you are to the tap if you're going to want water from the tap wow things you just wouldn't think of do you want one that's right by the path do you want one that's a little bit further in yeah sort of things you have to walk through another allotment to get to your allotment lots of stuff where are you going to put your UV lamps well you don't need of your ass idea i don't know i don't know never made weed no i haven't yet sorry i'm just making weed over it hello i'm here for my allotment to make some weeds uh well actually i've learned about gardening you don't want weeds what weeds weeds bad weeds oh yeah we know that though don't we yeah we know that we get told to pull the weeds up yeah so that's good so yeah so alfie doesn't live in norwich anymore no did message him not gonna be the allotment yeah he did say if I live in Norwich I'd be all over that I believed him still believe him so it's all my allotment you're very welcome you and him were going to go halves on the allotment we were going to share an allotment work together an allotment providing food for our families this is just this is an idle gym talk I'm not sure Alfie thought I was going to put us on the waiting list for an allotment essentially Alfie not allotmenting I'm allotmenting so I'm just going to hopefully get a plot in the next week or two and then just start shredding I'm going to buy like a big stream like this just smash it all up and then grow stuff grow loads of veg and stuff and I can just potter about on the allotment you want to come visit the allotment?

32:11yeah barbecue or something are you allowed to do that there? yeah you burn things down what? you can have bonfires I've read a lot of allotment rules you can have bonfires on this site up until I think the end of March so any winter bonfires really? yeah and what about barbecues? barbecues are okay if you have a little barbecue I think that's fine but not in the summer though I think that's fine I think they don't want you You're burning big piles of stuff in the summer, essentially. But the plus side, the water gets... No water at the minute. Water comes on in the summer. You get the taps only work from the summer.

32:41So what is the main purpose people would have allotments if... What's the secondary purpose? Because the first one would be veggies. Remove veggies. Why else? Can't remove veggies. What? 60 % of your allotment... All the allotment rules are different. 60 % has to be used for growing veggies. does mean 40 % you could put a bench to sit on maybe a table have a glass of wine while you sit amongst your radishes could make dojo probably make dojo I'll check the rules didn't really look at that how big is is 40 % big enough for dojo depends how big your plot is really and how big your desired dojo is I'm going to make mine a pussy a lot then yeah yeah okay I think it needs to have more alliteration oh yeah anal a lot anal a lot Allotment.

33:28Thought it was a dojo. Fee text me, where are you? I'm just down the anal allotment. No, you've got to say dojo. Wink. And then we'll know that you mean the anal allotment. Yeah, that's fair. With Stevie. But yeah, so allotment, there's going to be a lot more allotment news in the future. But if I'm prepared, if you guys want, I will give you a small section of allotment to grow your own veg in. Oh, that's too much pressure I can pay. A lot of pressure. I've got a cat. Yeah. Stevie's more interested. Not against it. You were very keen earlier. Never grown a veg before, though. What? I've never grown a veg before.

34:03Start with the easy ones. Start potatoes. Carrots. Put them in the ground. Bang. Done. How do you do it, though? Put it in, water it once a day. Check. Take out weeds. You have to go there once a day for a carrot. You have to go once a day. How often do I need... Because I'd have to drive... That's quite far away from mine. How often do I need to come look after it? Not loads. Can you grow it for me and I'll just come look at it? Potatoes don't have to do anything, really. Can I give you a parsnip? and go like that in there. That's already grown. Yeah, but they'll make new ones. What? No. What, is there parsnip seeds?

34:36Yeah. What do you think? You put in parsnips and they just have sex and reproduce? No, I thought you put a parsnip in with the little sprout sticking out the top. That's a grown parsnip. Yeah, but what the fuck? What's a parsnip seed? Have you ever seen that? I think they flower at the top, don't they? Yeah. What are you doing? What are you doing? And why is that gross? That's gross. Put the parsnip in. Get the little... Are you wanking on the parsnip? Why did that look really gross? Well, no, you tell me. And then it would turn into a big tree. Grown parsnips before. Seeds. Put seeds in ground.

35:12Water. Parsnip comes. How would your parsnip taste compared to that of Tesco? I'd say favourably. Generally. I think because you're... A lot of these things, if you're getting them at the right time of year, A lot of the time, what I've learned from growing things is you get a lot of food, not fresh. Yeah. Not good. Right. Fresh, because you have to choose, because you have to get it at the right time. Good. But what I've also learned is you can get a lot of things like onions. You can dry out and you can store onions and potatoes and stuff in bags. Grow your potatoes in summer. Have potatoes all winter.

35:48Potatoes will keep. What are the onions then in the bags? Onions in bags too for the winter. What, they just last in the bags, do they? Put them in bags. Put them in something cool. Garage, in my case. For how long? Months. Can you? I don't know. If I leave an onion in my kitchen for two weeks, that's sprouting. Kitchen hot, kitchen light. Ah. Bag dark, garage cold. Ah. Don't know why I'm talking like this. Yeah, but I'm getting it. I think this is the level I'm at. You said you thought that you put parsnips in the ground. I just talked like you had mental deficiencies. So yeah, so a lot of exciting allotment news.

36:28It's going to be a good summer of allotmenting. I'm going to see how much veg I grow. I might try and weigh the total amount of veg and then calculate the value of the veg I've grown. You could start selling it to your mates. I'm not going to sell it to my mates. I'm going to eat it. How much is the allotment? I think allotment fees are not very... I think they're about£100 a year. Oh, okay. That's really good. It's pretty good. You're not allowed to sleep on it. Check that. Are you not? No. Why does that surprise you? that you can't live on your allotment for£100 a year. How are they going to know?

36:58Well, because people look at allotment and go, there's a guy who lives on the allotment. I don't know. I reckon I'd get away with that. Okay, that's your challenge is to see how many nights in a row you can sleep on Robbie's allotment. No, not a challenge. Get your own allotment. In three years, you can do your challenge. I'll be your own little carrot. Okay, that's good. Yeah, I love that you're just out here doing side quests. I am doing a lot of side quests. Yeah. Other side quests. Becky and I went to film videos in Belgium, Netherlands area. Okay. So the video was, there's an area called Baal, Baaler.

37:31It's spelled B-A-A-R-L-E. And there's two different versions. Baal-Nassau or Baal-Hertog, depending on where you are. Essentially, this is in the Netherlands. And within it, there are loads of pockets of the Netherlands that are Belgium. Right. And within some of those pockets of Belgium, and there are bits of the Netherlands within that. They're called enclaves. So it's basically like the weirdest border on earth, pretty much. There's like just mad bits. And you go into this place, and the idea of the video is to see if we could find a bar that the border goes through, because the borders are everywhere.

38:03They're going through like shops, people's houses and stuff like that. So you could both drink in different countries. We could drink at one table together, but in two different countries at the same time. That's the purpose of the video. Have they made it visual? Like when you're walking around, can you just see like a line on the floor? There's lines on the road, and there's markings and stuff like that. turns out the bar that we thought we could do this in uh is no longer a bar so the video is a bit more problematic but i won't give it away um but yeah essentially you can you can go around there there's like a beer shop like an off license called beer border and the border runs right through the shop and they've got the rule there is like where your front door is is what country you count as but they've got so they've got the door and the checkout in Belgium partly because Belgium drinking age is 16 it's 18 in Netherlands what?

38:50and there's also people do things like if there's better tax rates in different things they'll try and do things like that it's quite complicated so 16 year olds can walk into the shop but areas of the shop are Netherlands you pick up your Netherlands stuff take it to Belgium stuff buy it so you're robbing it from are you smuggling? you're smuggling you are you're robbing it from one country and giving the money in the pocket. No, they don't say you can't carry them around. So it counts as where the front door is. But if I picked up a taco in America and went across the border to Canada and bought it...

39:21Different. How? Could a taco be cold? If you're in the same Taco Bell that was across the border, probably fine. Yeah, I guess it's all the same stock, isn't it? It's their stock. It's the same shop. What? What did you think it was? Listen to a word Robbie said. I'm trying to get it. Shop. Yeah, big shop. Border through the middle. Line on the floor, border through the shop. Got you. Like San Siro, Inter Milan AC Milan. Ah, okay. Got you. Thank you. Do more in football terms. Okay. Good. Goal line. That's a border. Right. Goal. You're offside. So yeah, so we were doing this and travelling around.

40:03And you know, we obviously had a few drinks as we were travelling around this, such as the pattern on these videos. But you know when you've had a few drinks and you don't realise... Basically, I didn't realise how pissed Becky was. We were just walking along. We were just chatting in between pubs. We were going through making this video. She goes, she went to me... Just turn the camera on a second. I went, okay, I turned it on. She went, why? She goes, she's going to jump in this bush. She just went over and just threw herself face first into a bush. I just didn't know what was happening. She's just like in this bush, head down in this bush.

40:34she was like she was like she was like I didn't really get the reaction I thought I don't know what's happening she's like can you get me out of the bush please I'm stuck in the bush pull her out of the bush was she not worried of hurting us I think she was hammered yeah she's got cuts all over her arms now now do not take her to our allotment nah she's not welcome at all I'm like you're saying oh he's in now he's in she's gonna jump in she's gonna jump in the raspberry bushes isn't she oh yeah there will be raspberry bushes in this allotment you're doing rasps Cindy rasps You're doing casters?

41:05Maybe not this year, but next year. Carrots? Carrots? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, casters, yeah. Parsis? Parsis, oh yeah, it'll be parsied, bro. Unnies? Oh, plenty of unnies. Sweetsies? Yep. Sweet one? Yeah. You're going to have a lot of space. That sounds like a lot, man. For your Christmas meal next year, are you just going to be all that? My plan is to try and have all the veg for my Christmas meal from allotment. Brussels sprouts. Wow. Get a pig on there. That'll be your game. Can't have pig. Can have. chicken rabbit bees only three species allowed oh my god get chickens you can get fresh eggs i'm gonna get chicken you are so beekeeper-y you give off beekeeper i give beekeeper vibes but i don't give walk to do beekeeper big garden beekeep walk no beekeep oh really yeah yeah are you gonna get some chickens on there no can i bring a chicken you can bring a chicken but you gotta take it home when you go why are you against chicken because i'm not i'll go away for two weeks in the summer what's going to happen chicken just leave it some feed oh I've can I tell you my invention I would be gutted if you don't because I wonder how this connects to the chicken what has just happened I've thought I've actually thought I was going to wait for a Dragon's Dean episode but that might never come so Sierra has all the best active and outdoor brands you need from athletic stuff like a full court pickup game swish to athletic stuff like a half mile stroll get those steps And for morning hikes up the mountain trail, good pace.

43:32and more time together. Shop now at palmolive.com. You know when you go, you know we've got a cat now? Kind of, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was thinking like, because we're due to go away like in a few weeks for a week and it's like, how the cat... Well, it doesn't matter. It's not your cat. You'd have to look after it. No, good. To be fair, when he was in Tenerife, I kept making him sad because I kept saying, because you sent me a screenshot of the cat waiting at his front door and I said, that cat's going to feel abandoned and hate me every day it was waiting on the doorstep and we just have to put the doorbell on and say not yet like that and then back soon but anyway say mama

44:16he has been good yeah you've been very good I promised I'd deliver you did just do a little step over even when you're not on the board yeah just he'll keep you up so imagine this right so imagine you have a cat it is don't have to I've got to but jack's imagining isn't he okay and you're and you're away so what do you do when you're away but you've got cat to look at cat sitter ah woman woman comes big money uh bev books her but i think enough to not want to get unnecessary cat sitter but i don't think it's i've got a cure for cat says i don't think they're ill what's wrong with them well we get rid of them we don't need them So you have a box that you fix onto a wall and it's split up like a pill box where you have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

45:05And each of the days are on a timer. They already have timed food things for animals. Do they? So what happens is cat sitter, cat's fed twice a day, cat sitter feeds them once, puts other food in a timer, timer pops open for second food. Oh my fucking God. yeah there's like self-serve pet also you can't really put loads in there because it's going to get all manky because you've got to open the packet of food oh yeah but you could make it like almost like a refrigerated one couldn't you I don't think can you just give me like 30 minutes just so I can think this through do you want to just not talk for a bit no I just want to try and work out refrigerate you can talk about it what's this got to do with chickens i don't know yeah where were we we're talking about my we're talking about chickens a lot more but i'll tell you i told you about um becky jumping to a bush yeah um on that the other thing i've noticed um i did i did one of my exploring britain videos the other day where you go to a place and um look around the town so i went to well in garden city with ailish morrison who's one of becky's friends uh tiktoker um we were filming there and she we We were walking through a park and it was a bit slippy.

46:22And she started slipping. She's like, oh, God. It was just like doing the splits like that. And I just got my camera out and filmed it. Yeah. Right. It was only afterwards I was like, oh. And she then slipped and fell like into the mud, really muddy. Had to clean herself in lake. What? Yeah. So afterwards I went, oh, I probably should have helped you there. And she was like, oh, no, no, it's fine. It was fine. I was like, oh, I feel a bit bad. And then I put a clip of that on social media and cheap holiday expert who'd been on one of these walks and fallen over on my walks. She was like, oh, that's worse than when I fell over and got really muddy on your walk.

47:03And then I said to Becky, oh, your friend's fallen over. And I feel really bad because I didn't, I didn't, I just filmed it. She goes, yeah, I wonder what that's like. And then I realized that she'd fall over in the snow. and I'm starting to think maybe like women aren't safe on my channel because they all seem to be falling over and getting hurt and I'm the common denominator. Why are you never offering to help? Yeah, well that's the question I'm asking myself. Do you think if you got to A-list quick enough you could have helped her? Yes, 100%. But you've gone camera. I've gone camera. Content over feelings, bro.

47:38Yeah, but it's like there's a lot of introspection going on this week after I've suddenly realised I'm a danger to women. Have you ever fallen over on one of your walks? No. They'd have helped you if you did. Yeah, they would have stopped you. It's like when we were filming a video years ago and I fell and my penis went in that cow, in that horse, and you just made it happen.

48:04It's so much funnier that you got the animal wrong because now it sounds like you fucked both. That was a different day. I was fine then. that's fine are you referring to the smash hit video jack may have sex with a horse in the early days of the robin ocks youtube channel absolutely killed what have you searched jack wait on youtube all my classics didn't come up until it was that but you know what's amazing about it is you know you can go onto youtube studio yeah and it tells you the search terms how people have found your channel it goes through those things like robin ocks um robin ocks youtube uh robin ocks when Becky probably goes walk, all this sort of stuff.

48:40And then you get a bit further down to it, and it's like, woman has sex with horse. Sex horse. I'm disappointed these people that have gone to try and look for a woman fucking a horse and seen us. Who's looking for that on YouTube? We're optimists. Yeah, so to sum up, women aren't, I'm warning you women, not safe around me on my YouTube channel. We knew that. We knew that. Yeah, we did a bit. Is that everything? If you want any more news from me, I've got one more bit of news have you got any news Stevie I do want that news but I think we'll finish on that because you're a star boy so we need to finish on a high it's the weakest bit of news but it's exciting let's get him out of the way yeah because I've got really weak news we're playing some like youth prospect who's probably not cut out for the match give him 10 minutes at the end yeah see how he does I'll be honest give me 5 I've on loan depression after this I've really not got much excitement to report back okay oh I did my speed awareness after you did your red light awareness.

49:40Yeah, how did you find it? It's weird, isn't it? Online again? Yeah, three hours is too long. The irony of having to zoom into a speed awareness. I like that. I am way too long. Definitely could have been shorter, but the old boys in there, they love it. Fucking yabba yabba yabba the whole time. Sharing way too much information they didn't need to share. like what like it'd just be like full skin no just just about like one the first thing in the whole you're all on camera obviously and the first thing in the in the uh whatever it's called i was gonna say appointment in the in the speeding dojo yeah was that the the guy was like can you all name a reason people might speed so it came to me and i was just i was the first one i was like they might be frustrated and like everyone's going around then one guy went just straight away went well the reason I was speeding and I was like, he's not asked for your story.

50:37And he was like, well, I'm an HGV driver, you see. And I was going down a hill and it obviously naturally was picking up speed and I wasn't breaking and the speed camera was on the hill. I was like, we're not trying to ask you. And he's like, he went, but I'm not making excuses. I was like, well, you are making excuses. And then he followed it up with, and also I had 12 points on my license. So I had to go to court and I was, I was actually hoping to take my license away from me, to be honest. because that next year when they didn't take it away from me, I was walking on eggshells. I was like, just drive properly then.

51:06Like, you can't be that worried about it. You shouldn't be driving an HTV if this is happening, yeah. 12 points as well. And then the guy running the session just kept trying to be funny. And he was talking about like... They're good though. I think they're quite good, the people that do it. Yeah, he was really nice. But like at one point he made a joke. I was like, that's rogue. It's like a joke we'd make on here. It was like a joke we'd make on here. No, he was talking about hazards and stuff And he was like, yeah, a kid could just run in the road And he went, I don't know, but have any of you ever chased a seven-year-old kid?

51:38I was just like, that hasn't landed the way you think it's landed Nah, is he free from Mondays and Thursdays?

51:47But it was, there was only, everyone was fairly old And then there was me and one other guy who was probably about our age Where was he from? Dis Because they tell you all where they're from You're a prick mate why do they say like you've got to stand up and go i'm jack and i'm from we're standing up

52:16i took the laptop with me she's lifting up that hello So to them, it didn't, just the background changed. Hi guys, I'm from Norwich. I just sat there and said, I'm from Norwich. You just sat there, that's pretty chill though. That was chill. They were all in the Norfolk area, but the guy running the course wasn't. Was he? He was in like Hertfordshire. Oh. Yeah, it was really strange. My guy was slap bang Norwich council. He was saying like the online ones, people tend to be better than in the class. People get stuff wrong in the class all the time. And I was thinking, yeah, it's because we could just slightly wait and go, they've said that cool i'll just do that yeah right right but it was some of it was really strange obviously you did the different one but it'd be like it was so basic at the start he went here's a picture of a road what speed can you go here and we'd all just go 30 30 but i if you muted your mic he'd be like you need to unmute your mic yeah but i've got one of those mics that if you touch it mutes but it doesn't show them so i just kept it muted for most of it i just moved my mouth.

53:19If loads of people were talking at once, I'd just go, no, you wouldn't blend in without saying anything. Yeah. I didn't want to be, I did not want the attention to come on me. That's good. It felt really uncomfortable. On my speed awareness, they started it by saying, um, why do you think people like speed? And I said, well, my mom said it's cheaper than Coke. Good reaction. That's a good joke. Yeah. I was just waiting to say that the whole time. Well, that's kind of it. To me, it just looked like you were going... I forgot to turn this mic on. Would you do another? Would you go back? You're not allowed.

53:57Is it three years? So I just hope I won't speed again now until then, because I've got no points on the license now. Completely safe. All good. So plan is to be a respectable man on the roads. I did like that somebody online said mental that Stevie's gone from a black box to a speed awareness. I'm a bad boy I actually had the black box when I Sped I'd love to see that report Insurance through the roof That was really nice, I don't have the black box anymore Got rid of that in like September Sped in August It was a month ago Yeah What do you want to finish on then Robbie? I'd like to tell you I bought The best thing I've ever bought In my life yes using it now um no um i bought like i'm always saying to bev buy cheap buy twice yeah because you will buy some shit yeah and then you're buying repeated stuff all the time so put my money quite literally where my mouth is i don't usually speak can i guess what it is please you put your money where your mouth is that's not a clue no he's saying the money the literal bit is the money the phrase yeah oh so i've spent some money on something a general household thing that i use most days and it is back scratch no no um i don't because i'm not a character from a sitcom in the 80s you said back scratch have you a clove steamer nope more basic more basic a shoehorn no a fork you're getting closer oh one of those spinny forks shall I tell you how much I spent on this I'm going to tell you how much I spent on this thing go on because it's £140 on a fork no it's not a fork and it was about £120 more than I've ever spent on this sort of thing before two forks no not a fork is it a tin opener no oh I think it is premium kitchen roll.

56:08No. What was it made of? I think£20 would be premium kitchen. We made of dodo skin. Don't joke. I think we're going to have to give up, Robbie. Frying pan. I bought an amazing stainless steel frying pan. My God, it has changed my life. Did steak on it yesterday. So much better than any steak I've ever done. Why? Even heat. You've got to learn how to use the stainless steel. A couple of minutes preheating before you put the oil in. Incredible. Stuff doesn't stick to it, even though it's not non-stick. Well, it's better because you put things in initially, stick. Wait for it to brown, releases from there.

56:45Unbelievable steaks. I'm so interested in this, by the way, because I like the steaks. My God. It's a three-ply stainless steel, really good quality frying pan. What brand? Le Cruze. Oh, you've gone all out. I've gone all out. I did my research. great reviews but it will do you for life I mean a lot of the time frying pans get a bit scratched have to throw them out get a new one this should do does it work on the the whatever you say yes are you going to say the hob? yeah on the hob yes where else are you going to use I've got the electric hob that's fine induction hob still going to add heat to the pan isn't it?

57:23I've not checked the induction thing you can get an adapter if not I hate induction some pans not work on induction no why do you hate induction? I've never had induction because I've only ever used it on a bit of way I just find it really annoying. I like gas for cooking. Okay. Personally. We've got electric oven. Yeah. Gas hop. Ariane kept mentioning that she wants like one of the big pots from them. So I was like, oh, maybe I'll look into that for her birthday. Because that's a lovely treat. They'll have 340 quid. Do you know how big one you get? Big one. Big one, 340 quid, yeah. Mad. And they're all weird colours, aren't they?

57:53But we'll do you forever. My dad wants pot for his birthday. He'll get it as a record as well. I don't think mine's getting two drug jokes about your parents. I don't know. Probably because of his parents. Probably because of his own drugs. But yeah, just want to say, my buy a cheap buy twice thing, stand by it. Incredible frying pan. Come round, I'll cook steak. You've got to see how long it lasts. You've got a little picky. How is that guaranteed? Ten years, I reckon. By the lifetime guarantee. What if they go under? Yeah, they say lifetime guarantee. if you start well if you walk into a shop with that in 30 years time right and go that's not working anymore and they went you got the receipt and you went yeah let's say now what are we 2026 if you took that you had a receipt from 1996 and you went lifetime guarantee they'd look at you like you're a fucking maniac would they?

58:49well let's find out in 30 years I've also I've had set reminder feet but there's not a lot to go along it's like a just really solid pan but you don't have to do it too hot as long as you know you've got to learn how to use pan follow the instructions use it properly, I'm not putting this boy in the dishwasher don't need to, nicely clean you can be a bit more rough with it than you can with non-stick coatings I went to a Morrison's the other day which I don't often do and as I was I put my stuff in the bag you're too good for Morrison's? it's just not my go to is Morrison's too good for you? yeah probably I like a little Morrison's But their bags are well more expensive, like 60p for Bag for Life.

59:27Bag for Life broke before I even left the store. Bag not for Life. Exactly. So that's what I'm saying. Maybe... But you can take it back and get it replaced. That's too much agony. I put another one in straight away. That's less reasons to shop at Morrison's. Very good salad bar, Morrison's. Yeah. Yeah. I like my Morrison's. You won't be needing that anymore though, will you, allotment boy? I won't be needing that, no. And also... I thought you were calling him partner. You won't be needing that. You've bloody given up. You've just gone, fuck it, I'll be a fat bloke. Called feel-wale, I don't know this.

59:59Yeah. So, yeah, and I won't need to go to the Morrison's Steak Bar either if they've got one of those, because I'll be cooking great steaks in my frying pan. Wow. Robbie out. End of that. I might just call this episode Robbie.

1:00:17No number. I mean, carry on numbering after this one. This one's just Robbie. I really want it just to be called Robbie How many episodes are there?
