In short
Jackmates Happy Hour interviews celebrity psychic medium Stuart Michael about what “psychic medium” means, how he claims to connect to spirits (past/present/future), the morality of speaking to the dead, and how he balances grief with humour during his tour shows.
Guest backgrounds
Stuart Michael is a touring celebrity psychic medium. He says he discovered his ability as a child in Lincolnshire/Stanford, later trained/learned to “switch off” after a neighbour (who was also psychic) taught him. He also has a background as a dancer, and he describes himself as gay and having been bullied in school.
Key claims
He claims he can “hear, see, and sense” spirits and communicate with them, but that he is not “tuned in 24-7” and must switch off. He says his readings can be therapeutic and uplifting, and that he aims for about a 50/50 mix of humour and solemn material. He claims his mother passed in 2021 and that she has come through in shows.
Notable examples
As a child he says he talked about Germany (including a specific village/area) and later his family researched it; he also says he predicted a neighbour’s death before it happened. He recounts his mother’s “message” about naming new puppies (Nigel and Kevin) and says she appears onstage to help during performances.

There were some positive comments for him, there were some negative comments for him. And as you guys will know through posts that we've put out on social media, Stevie and I are now delving into different worlds we don't know about. Growing up, I was very headstrong. I was very like, religion's a load of rubbish and I'm right, yeah? Now, I'm still an atheist, but I'm more open to other people's ideas. I'm growing, I'm learning. Even if you don't agree with something, I'm happy to hear you out.
0:37And that's exactly what today's episode is. We've spoken in the past of our scepticism towards this exact profession, but we can't be sceptical without actually speaking to someone in the business. Exactly right, Stevie. So today on the show, we have celebrity psychic medium Stuart Michael, currently on tour showing his ability to the world so we sat down with Stuart today and we ask him all about his ability Stevie and I ask him lots of questions lots of sort of difficult questions to look a man in the eyes sat opposite us and say can you really do this can you prove it to us we talk about the morality of speaking to the dead we and to be fair to Stuart he doesn't shy away from any question yeah and he's also just a nice guy he's a he's a he's a very very lovely guy uh obviously there was some tough points in in this in the show because like we say stevie and i are skeptics um but make your own minds up it's up to you guys you're allowed to believe whatever you believe there'll be lots of you out there that do believe people have this ability there'll be many of you out there that don't believe but it's an interesting podcast to say the least and let's not get angry about stuff keep your mind open to it i i would actually want to go and see a show i'd go and see it for the spectacle of it for sure i'm intrigued stuart michael psychic medium to the celebs and the stars

From athletic to athletic, Sierra's got it. Hello, guys. Welcome back to Jackmate's Happy Hour podcast. It's me, Jackmate, as always, with my good pal, Stevie. Now, Stevie, we are on a different route on Happy Hour at the moment, aren't we? We are. We've done the comedians. We ticked them off. We've done the footballers. We've done all the traditional people. So now we are delving into worlds we don't know about, right? We are. So a few weeks ago, or I don't know when this is coming out, we had a paleontologist on.
3:39Very interesting. We've had sleep experts. We've had dream experts. We've had ghost hunters. Now, today on the show, we have psychic medium Stuart Michael, a world that Stevie and I do not know about. We do not have any kind of abilities. Some would say we don't even have the ability of humour, but we're going to try our best. I'm sure you do. I'm sure you do. Now, first question, straight into it. What is a psychic medium? So psychically, it means that I can sing to people's past, present and future. okay okay and that kind of comes to me as images thoughts that i've not thought myself but exist within my mind if that makes sense to somebody that doesn't know yeah it's hard to explain but it's like a thought that's not my own and it's from the past present or future scenario okay with mediumship that's where you're connecting to spirits that come through right and how i connect to them is i will hear them i will see them i will sense them and i'll communicate with them okay Are they two separate things then?
4:37But you can do both. It's two separate things, but with myself, they're kind of combined together and I can use both abilities when I'm working. Okay. Okay, right. I'm looking forward to this. Now, Stuart, we always start in the same way. We ask every single guest this. We want you to imagine a place called the Happy Hour Hall of Fame. Of course. You can submit any item into there, something that means something to you. What would you like to put in there? Oh, something that means something to me. It can be silly. It can be serious. It's up to you. Do you know what? I'm going to put Liverpool, the city Liverpool.
5:06Okay. What I'll do, we'll have to get like a magnet or something from Liverpool. Put that in there. Just because that's my roots. My family all came from Liverpool. And the family are kind of like split between Liverpool and Everton. Oh. Yeah. Red and blue. So there's always banter going on between who's red, who's blue, who's toffees and what have you. Yeah. But yeah, my roots, well, I'm not from Liverpool myself, but my family were. Okay. I've definitely got the scale sense of humour, that's for sure. Right. It just means a lot to me. and my mum passed away bless them one of the last kind of memories I had with her was a big celebration for her 60th when we had that in Liverpool oh cool oh yeah it'll be nice to have that there have you had many nights out in Liverpool oh gosh yeah have you ever been to the heebie-jeebies no tell me about heebie-jeebies we've been heebie-jeebies we love Liverpool really it's a good night out have you done the Matthew Street Festival anything like that no I haven't no you wanna go yeah we were lucky enough we took this podcast on tour and we played Liverpool a few times and the crowd are raucous but they are They're good people.
6:02Oh, very good. They are good people. Do you sway more towards Liverpool Football Club than Everton Football Club then? Only because my brother's Everton and it's always good to have Sibli. It's always good to have that. Most people match them. I know, right? No, absolutely not. No. I mean, I say I support Liverpool. Have I ever watched a match? No. I couldn't even tell you who plays for them. Do you know what I mean? I couldn't. Have you heard of Steven Gerrard? Yeah, he's a footballer, right? He's a footballer. Right? Yeah, he's Liverpool. It's really good in the goal. It's a really good goal, please.
6:33So we're going to put Liverpool into the Hall of Fame. I don't think we've had it before. No, we haven't. We haven't. Not many people do places, do they? It's one I agree with, though. Liverpool, yeah, great people. Great place. Great place. Now, Stuart, before we get into you and your life and your ability, we're going to ask you some quickfire questions that are just a little bit silly, just to find out more about you. Stevie, hit us. What's the weirdest app on your phone? The weirdest app? Have you got... Do you know what? I really don't have that many apps on my phone. Seriously, I don't. I'm so old school.
7:00I literally just text, I phone, I email, and that's literally it. Okay, okay. Seriously, like Spotify. I had to have somebody come around and tell me how to use Spotify and things like that. Honestly, I am rubbish, absolutely rubbish. So you won't even be able to listen to this back then? The most kind of like random app I have is probably like a taxi, literally. And that's not random, is it? No, it's not that random. Do you never doom scroll? Are you not a... Okay, so I have like your TikToks and your Instagrams and your social medias, and of course I'll scroll on that and stuff, but that's not really, that's like standard isn't it?
7:31Yeah. If you're laying there and you're doom scrolling, what's the niche? What do you stop and watch? Do you really want to know that? Do you really want to know that? Are we going there? But no, I would say, oh gosh, what do I scroll? I have a lot of fitness that comes through on my phone. A lot of fitness comes through and then it will be like holidays, things like that will come through, like destinations will come through. I love animals as well. I have dogs and cat videos, things like that. Have you got any dogs or cats? I do. I've got a dog. Yeah, he's brilliant. He's lovely. I'm in the market for a dog right now.
8:07Okay. Sounds like a trying to buy. Yeah, are you selling your dog? No. You'd give him back after half an hour, trust me. You really would. What dog is it? He's half Tibetan Terrier and half Cocker Spaniel. So they call them Cabetan Terriers. Oh, okay. Yeah. Noisy? He's very vocal. Right. Very vocal. Like he whines all the time. He literally just wants feeding nonstop. you'll feed him half an hour later he wants a treat he's whining he's whinging he's begging for food bless him when he's nine years old coming up soon yeah and he's not grown out of it at all he's literally just begging for food constantly so you see because obviously you're a touring psychic medium you're on tour right now how does how does because i'm asking because i'm interested i don't know how i can fit a dog into my lifestyle so how do you make it work you have a partner that looks after the dog yeah i've got a dog so if i'm if if my partner's not with me i've We've got friends that look after him and stuff.
8:56He wouldn't settle on tour with me because a lot of people say, well, don't you take him on tour, have him in the dressing room and stuff. He'd be crying the place down. So it's not fair. So we have friends that look after him and stuff. There's always people that will volunteer because they'll love him. Yeah. You know, so I'm quite lucky in that respect. Yeah. He's always been looked after and what have you. I've recently got a cat, but it's been a running theme again on this show that it's not actually my cat. Oh, you just took one in? It just sort of started coming in randomly. Did you feed it?
9:22Did you start feeding it? I didn't for the first two weeks. Oh, okay. And then because she was just there all the time, I was like sleeping there as well. So I was just like... Living there rent-free then. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was just like, oh, I'm just going to have to feed this thing now. And now it brings a mouse in every day. It's horrific. I had a rat the other day. Did you? I had a rat. So my dog left its bone marrow things that they have. Left it in the garden, just took it out and was chewing it. Left it there. Sunny day. I look out there, and baby ratatouille's there, like literally nibbling it.
9:52using it for a steer we kept chasing it away kept coming back and coming back and coming back wow I'm not a fan of them because the cat will eat the head off the mice it's just it's gruesome but are you more of a cat man or a dog man I'm always a dog I've always been a dog guy always been a dog guy I'm actually going off the cat now because it shows me so little love it's a joke my partner Fee there the cat loves her whenever I'm away the cat will sleep on the bed but when I'm there it has nothing to do with me they're very aloof wants me dead yeah Stuart who is the biggest name in your phone book?
10:24The biggest name in my phone book? Oh, gosh.
10:33I've got quite a few. Okay, go on. We're allowing you to name drop. Okay, so I've got Warwick Davis. Oh, wow. That's a big one. Yeah. Who else have I got? I've got quite a few. Yeah, go on, go on, go on.
10:49I've got footballers. I've got footballers' wives. that's all I'm going to say. I've got, I've got quite a few, I've got quite a few, but I'm not going to name job because when they come to me, it's all very private. You see, it's not like, um, we go out socialite when I do, don't get me wrong. I am. I'm a proper lad on a night out. I tell you, I'm terrible. I am terrible. Seriously. So they probably don't want me even mentioned in that. Right. But when people come to me, obviously it's very private for them. It's very personal. So I don't like to divulge like too many details as to who I've got, but yeah.
11:18Warwick's a great name. Yeah. What about, another way of asking it have you ever had like a pinch yourself celebrity kind of like message you and you're like oh my god I can't believe they want me to come and do something for him definitely definitely that's always happened there's always been like pinch me moments and I've always said this you know because with my backstory you know I started off you know just at home giving readings and stuff and then it grew and pubs started calling me venues and what have you so you know just a small town boy if you like that's kind of done well doing theater talks and whatever and then you have celebs kind of call you want you down where they live it might be in chelsea it might be in surrey it might be up in cheshire or something you'll go to them will you i have done yeah i've done yeah i've done yeah i've summonsed if you like right there yeah what have you and uh and go and read for them yeah but you know they're all brilliant everybody says to me what's it like when you're reading for a celebrity and the difference between anybody else a friend or somebody on the street talking to them versus me is i i can get deep with them And everybody has their insecurities and everybody wants something.
12:19Do you know what I mean? So I see that side of them as well. And everybody's vulnerable. Everybody's got their own insecurities at the end of the day, haven't they? So, yeah, it's all lovely to do that. Is what you do, could that be seen as a bit of therapy then as well? I think so. A lot of people would say so. A lot of people that have come to me for what I do would certainly say it's been very therapeutic and it's helped them. And they certainly feel better after a session with me than they were before. and that's great because I don't, I want people to be uplifted. I want people to have a laugh.
12:48I want people to, okay, you might have lost somebody, but life is still very much worth living. Do you know what I mean? And although, you know, you haven't got that loved one with you or it could be a friend, relative, whoever it is that you've lost, they still want you to carry on living your life. Do you know what I mean? So I'll give you the comfort, I'll give you all of that, but I need to remind everybody that we're still here and we've got to keep living. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, no, that's good, that's good. So you can speak to spirits, But if you could cherry pick one celebrity, one dead celebrity to ask any question to, who would you pick and what would you ask them?
13:22A dead celebrity? A dead celebrity, the way you say it. Do you know what? I was always a fan of Freddie Mercury, his music. Legend, yeah. I mean, legend. I absolutely loved his music. I mean, he passed away before, you know, I could have gone and seen him in concert or anything like that. He would have been a great person to have seen in concert. But to even just to have a sit down conversation with him, how he navigated his life and his career at those times, like 70s, 80s, and to kind of maintain such an image and be that prolific character that he truly was. I think he'd be so interesting to sit down and have a conversation with me.
13:58That's a good answer. Definitely. That's a good answer. Yeah. Have you ever spoke to a dead celebrity? Do you know what? I have because with celebs, you know, they know other celebs and they have celebs in the family. So, of course, like when I've had to go and read for certain celebs, they're related to a celeb that's probably passed away. So I've had to bring them through. If you're doing that for someone, so you end up speaking to it, can you not just speak to Freddie for yourself? Could you not choose to sit and try and contact them? Maybe. I've never really thought about it and I've never really tried to.
14:29The thing is that with myself, I'm never tuned in 24-7. So people think that, oh, you're a psychic medium, you're picking up something for somebody all of the time. And if I was, I'd be so insane. I'd be tired. I'll be mentally ill, I'll be everything. So I have to switch off from it. So when I'm switched off from it, I don't think about it. I'm just a normal lad, like I said, at 1st o 'clock in the morning, getting kicked out of the local. Do you know what I mean? So I don't, you know what I mean? I try not to. There's a few natural follow-up questions that come to that, like how do you switch off and stuff?
14:58But we'll cover that a little later on. So two more quick fires. What's something the internet probably doesn't know about Stuart Michael? The internet doesn't know about me. That you're willing to share on. what they don't know about me. Okay, so when people come and see me on tour, I am quite funny, I am quite cheeky, and I will have banter with the audiences. I saw many, you know, they can be crying. Next minute they're in tears and they're laughing. But I think when people do see me, and especially if they have a night out with me, you'll actually see, go on, yeah, I'm cheeky. And I like to have a laugh, I like to have banter.
15:35I really do. The amount of group chats that I'm in with the banter that goes on, it's terrible. The group chats can be brutal, can't they? They are. But I'm the worst one in there. I've been kicked out of so many. That feels quite unusual because when I've seen like psychic medium, like TV psychic mediums, especially in the past, it all feels quite solemn and like, because obviously it's quite intense conversations and stuff. So when you do watch these, like the crowd work kind of stuff, it all feels quite sad. So I'd find it kind of strange to like suddenly see like this happiness. Well, it's so interesting that you say that because, right, you know, I've had this ability all of my life and for many years I didn't really use it because I was at school and I was navigating school and you know I'm gay and navigating that and being bullied because I was a dancer as well years ago so being a dancer was bad enough let alone telling people that I talk to spirits and whatever people are no longer here could you imagine that right so I kind of like had to stifle it for so many years um it wasn't there so you know when I was touring I wanted, well, before I even started touring, you know, and what have you, I wanted to know what people wanted, you know, from that experience.
16:44And not only that, why they hadn't gone before. Because there's been many mediums before, and it's true that people say, well, it's very serious, it's very solemn. I don't know if it'd be very heavy. And, you know, yes, I'm very empathetic, and sometimes it can be very serious. But at the same time, you get me cheeky banter, and I'm going to uplift you and have a laugh. because I couldn't do it if it was serious and if it was solemn all the time myself. I'm on tour, I've got so many dates and if I was doing it every single day, dealing with people's, you know, their grief and everything but without uplifting them and uplifting myself doing it, I don't think I could do it.
17:20Right, so what percentage would you say is humour at your shows compared to like the more solemn, serious stuff? I would probably say there's 50-50. Okay, yeah. There's a good balance of humour and, you know, So don't get me wrong, you know, there's so many, and how people have passed before, sometimes it can be a really tragic story. But I really want to uplift people and I want to have cheeky banter with them. Yeah. You know, and hopefully I will do that. Right. I want to see them smile. I want to see them laugh. You know, yes, you've had that person come through for you and it's been a lovely moment.
17:50Yeah. But let's remember, we're all in it together. You know, nobody's in that theatre is on their own. They've all experienced something and that's why we're all together. So we're all in it together. Let's uplift everybody. Let's just create a magical atmosphere. where we're all uplifted and we can all celebrate life. That's nice. That's nice. Final one, who's your hero? Who's my hero? Gosh. Alive or past? Anybody. Anyone, yeah. Who's my hero? That's a really tough one. I've never thought about that. Who is my hero? Gosh, do you know what? I'm going to have to say my mum was my hero. Bless her.
18:26She's no longer here, but she really was. She was a tough one. She was very stoic. yeah um but she was my biggest supporter she really was i don't know if this if i'm allowed to ask you don't have to answer but have you spoke to your mum yeah since she she spoke to me really yeah can you tell us about that or absolutely um so she passed in 21 right 2021 um we've gone through the height of covid and everything and bless her she she was poorly she'd had cancer which went undiagnosed because no doctors were seeing anybody just it was just grew and it spread so rapidly um we sort of like february the 5th we finally got a diagnosis and i was told she had two weeks left wow those two weeks only turned out to be like a couple of days because she passed away on the 8th wow wow it was all very quick and all very sudden yeah um and straight after that i was still doing venues and whatever they just kind of like reopened not long after that so i was still having to work and do what i do yeah um but i was talking to somebody and they had just bought some new puppies and funny enough like we've just been talking about dogs and whatever and uh they were saying about it so what's the breed and whatever what have you called them and just as i asked that question my mum spoke to me and said wait until you hear this and he said that he called them the names of my mum's husband and my brother wow yeah yeah and i just kind of like froze and i heard and he just said it and they were like the most unusual names anyway Nigel and Kevin I just I just kind of phrased because she said it and then he said it and I just like gosh so she is with me and she's actually come through in shows to help me as well so when I've been in the theater and I've had like messages come through like I've seen my mum appear and she's like helping me as well so yeah it's nice it's nice so again I know it's a very touchy subject so please forgive me if I don't word something the right way when your mum was ill and you knew she was going to pass, because you have this ability, were you less, I don't know, obviously you're going to be sad your mum's about to die, but were you less scared than perhaps somebody who doesn't have this ability is because you know you're still going to have that contact?
20:30Have the contact. This is it. Nothing is guaranteed. Nothing is guaranteed. And this is it. People say, oh, like you said before, could you not just contact Freddie yourself? It doesn't necessarily work like that. You know, they very much come to me for myself and I open myself up and I have what I have come through. so I'm not scared of passing away like I wasn't scared of where my mum was going yeah you know for me myself I'm not scared of of passing away I'm scared of how that's going to happen is it going to be a disease that takes over me is going to be cancer is going to stroke is it going to be all those sorts of things right the process I'm scared of that the process of how I'm going to go rather than where I'm going right what happens to me after um and with my mum I didn't really think about what's going to happen after it was all just so sudden that you're watching somebody that was very well sort of deteriorate and what have you and up until that diagnosis she was very much you know we didn't really know what was happening and the nurses and doctors all seemed quite positive that oh we can do this we can do that and there'll be chemo and what have you and all sounded very positive that yeah it's going to be a tough journey but she she could have longer left she might even be cured who knows we didn't know until that diagnosis that it's stage four it's terminal and we stay coming back from this only two weeks left it was such a shock so i just didn't have time to think about what's going to happen next am i going to be able to still keep in touch with her i was still just much very much stewart right son of my mom right normal if you like without thinking about my gift as a psychic medium i was just trying to process what the hell was happening in my life at that moment right yeah right did your did your mom or your parents did they have this ability or is this no no no i'm the only weird one
22:08very much so um no my mum was very much into it she was very very much into it and she would have premonitions you know and she had seen things don't get mad i'm saying that she wasn't psychic but she never never really used i'm sure she had some sort of ability but was she a psychic was she medium no not really she's never known for it she never like confessed to me either i'm the only one that i'm aware of but she was very much into it and so was my nan my nan loved it my nan was a big fan of like derrick akora oh really she was a scouser wasn't she oh right yeah anybody with scouse accent yeah if you're a scouser you said to my nan oh you look 16 instead of 80 she was your best friend anybody with scouse accent could have like spoken to her and she'd loved it yeah yeah she loved derrick akora right yeah right when derrick so he was people would know him again we're not we don't know much about this world right so but but so for people like stevie and i we would know him from most haunted is that right i never met derrick akora i've never worked to never met okay um but obviously he was on television and stuff and we're talking back i mean my granddad passed away in 99 and not long after that um derek i think he was on like bravo or something there's like some program that was on like a talk show where you could call in and he would sort of give you a reading over the phone it was all like televised and stuff and my nan would call every week trying to get a reading with him to hear from my granddad my cousin had great fun winding her up he actually called her one day pretending to be derek Oh, wow.
23:30Oh, yeah, he's evil. That's quite mean. I know. Well, he did pretend it was Starek Korra, but he pretended it was like the studio. Oh, he did things. Like back in the day, like my nan used to do, used to read Reader's Digest. And there was a competition in the Reader's Digest magazine where you could like win money from a guy called Tom Champagne. What a name. I know, Tom Champagne, right. And he rang her up one day because she kept entering these competitions. And he rang her up one day and pretended to be Tom Champagne. And she was on the phone for about 15 minutes. Oh, no. Deciding where she's going to have this check given.
24:02Oh, no. Would you like press and whatever? He was terrible. Oh, no. I know.
24:10Derek Okora, when the spirits would talk to him, he would channel the spirits, wouldn't he? Do you do that or not? So with him, he had them kind of enter him, if you like, speaking that sort of way. No, I don't work in that way. They're still very much outside of my own body. Okay. So I don't become that spirit. Right. Okay. So what was a young Stuart like? I know you grew up in Stanford and Lincolnshire, is that right? Yeah. So what were you like as a kid? I know you discovered your ability from an early age, but away from the ability side, what were you like? I was, you know, I was a very quiet, not now, I've got to be now, but I was very quiet and I was just trying to navigate life.
24:50You know, I really was. Aged five, when we moved to Stanford, that was when my mum became friends with a neighbour who realised that she was a psychic herself and said, he's very much psychic, you know. So I'd kind of like, it was this light bulb moment, age five, oh, this is what it is. Yeah. So I just kind of like discovered that. But going to school, I never really wanted to hang out with children my own age. I was always more drawn to older people. So I'd rather chat with the teachers, dinner ladies, whatever. You know, I never really fitted in with children my own age. I just, I don't know why, I just didn't.
25:23But, you know, I was just a quiet kid, got on with it. Yeah. did my schoolwork and whatever the best of my ability and then i wanted to be a dancer um it was discovered at school that i could dance and my teacher had a word with my mum and said look he can dance we did this like a christmas show yeah primary school where we did like dances from around the world and actually like a russian dance and this that and the other and um yeah she said oh yeah he's a dancer he's got it you need to send him to dance schools which you know back in the sort of we're talking early 90s when this was yeah yeah we didn't have billy elliott that movie had never come out we didn't have all the dance competitions or anything like that so it was so out of the norm was it still a bit taboo for a guy to be doing that yeah whereas now we live in a tiktok generation it's like everyone's dancing it's it's it's celebrated isn't it and it should be but yeah yeah and and back then it was oh you could have it as a hobby but not as a career right that's what i was told and then when i kind of grew up and i was like secondary school and you know doing your gcse's wanting to leave school what you're going to do next you're going to go to university or what have you and when i said i wanted to go to a theater school or a dance school whatever you know it was you have it as a hobby you know you like to perform well be a barrister in court and perform in court oh wow i know yeah or be a teacher and perform to a class right teacher that's what you once got told so i don't think you get it so you were discouraged from it then yeah definitely right do you do any dancing on your on your live show no you've got the audience now it's your time to shine no no no definitely not um break a hip now um but no no definitely not i mean um i loved it you know i had a career you know being a dancer and stuff and i absolutely loved it it was it was hard work but i went against everybody even family said i'll just have it as a hobby you know it's gonna be really tough for you to do it as a career and what have you but i that that's something about me when somebody says don't do something i i do the absolute opposite you want to do it more you want to prove them wrong stewart's two o 'clock in the morning you should go home no six in the morning so i you know i've always been that way so i defied all the odds i you know i i literally said to my family well if you're not going to support me i'm going to go and audition i'll get myself a scholarship and i'll do it and i'll fund it all myself if i have to and pretty much that's what i did to start off with yeah i went up and did it so so so you you you knew from a from a young age that you wanted to be a dancer when did you also know from a young age that you you had this ability oh absolutely as soon as i could talk and my earliest memories were of me kind of thinking that i didn't belong with the family that i was born into what does that mean well they just seemed like strangers you know it's almost like you know like family guy yeah stewie and family guy yeah i was like that literally just didn't belong with them I can't British man just didn't belong in this family why is Stewie British yeah exactly yeah it's so weird it's so weird because I read on your website that you were about I can't remember you were about two or three yeah and you started speaking about Germany oh my no yeah what's that about I don't know seriously I have no idea why I started talking about it right so I as soon as I could talk I was saying about Germany talking about it non-stop from athletic stuff like a full court pickup game.

30:31She didn't introduce me, but she was a brainchild of a neighbour who was psychic. She came round and met me for the first time and said to me, oh gosh, you know, I can see that he's psychic. Right. It wasn't until that moment that it all clicked. Oh, so this is what I am. And this is why nobody else can see what I can. So they've not been lying to me for the past few years. They generally can't see what I can. How does the neighbour know? How does the neighbour just look at you and go? Well, she was psychic herself. But like what she, like what, how? Well, I think my mum must have obviously had a conversation with her and said she kind of like met me and my mum had been talking.
31:06My mum keeps mentioning Germany and we keep going into his room at night and he's talking to people and whatever, but there's nobody there. We don't have to sleep talking or what, you know. Yeah. So she's kind of heard that about it. But then when she met me, it was very much, he has something about him. And she taught me how to switch off from it. So, you know, we said earlier, how do you switch off from it? it was her that taught me how how do you do that i wish i could explain it's almost like trying to explain to somebody well how do you breathe in and breathe out we all know how we do it but when you try and break it down well what actually happens it's hard to explain right so it's a physical thing it's like a physical thing you just sit you're like blocking off it kind of coming through if you like it's like you you've kind of unzipped yourself and you're open to everything and then you're zipping yourself back up and you're switching off from it and you're living your if you like normal life right um so she taught me that from sort of aged five um and that was kind of the best thing that ever happened to me because i finally got a break from it and i could live normally and i did you know as normal as you can be a dancer in the 90s trying to navigate life yeah yeah so would people no longer come to your bed at night once you'd zipped so that just ended that completely yeah yeah and i was a member of solid before that happened i'd got told off one day i was with um before we moved to to stanford we were in leicestershire and my mum was friends of a neighbour, she was elderly, called Nora.
Read the full transcript
32:24And she became like my third grandma, right? And she took me out one day for a little walk and I was on rains and stuff and we're walking through the village. And she used to go to church on a Sunday. And she bumped into another elderly lady, didn't know her name or anything, I'd never met her before, but Nora was stood chatting to her. And this lady, as they were sort of like saying goodbye to each other, I'll see you at church on Sunday, right? And as we walked away, I said to Nora, she won't be there on Sunday, she won't be here by sunday and i said it and i'd be about four at the time something like that because you killed her i wasn't a freaking for you i'm just joking but um yeah literally yeah i see yeah um so norah kind of like stopped in the tracks and said sorry what and i said it again and she told me off you shouldn't say things that that's rude that's naughty that's disrespectful you shouldn't say things like that well anyway um the sort of like following week the monday and tuesday had heard that Nora had gone to church on a Sunday and was told because this lady hadn't turned up herself that she'd passed away the day before.
33:26There would be nothing wrong with her. She just, I don't know how she passed away, like maybe a sudden heart attack or something, but she wasn't there on a Sunday. Wow. I know. So the neighbour that told you you had the ability, the same neighbour that taught you how to switch it off, how was she able to verbalise how to switch it off? Because you said it's hard to describe because the breathing in, breathing out thing. How did she describe it? Well, first of all, before she told me how to tune in, tune out, she needed to kind of know what it was that I was getting and what I could see. So remember, she kind of taught me with psychometry.
34:01Well, she kind of discovered with psychometry. And psychometry is when you hold an object of somebody, somebody that somebody owns, and you hold it, and you pick up the energy from this object because it's been on you or, you know, I could pick, you know. And she said, right, hold that and tell me what you feel, what do you think about when you hold that and she was really patient with me because I didn't understand what was going on I was like what's going on here and I said at age five I was like you're going east there's something to do with east east and my mum said well what do you mean east like you know we're in Lincolnshire where are we going east and she's naming little villages like nearby and said no no and mum was like I don't know does he mean abroad and I remember her talking to Paul does it mean a broad one I've said no no no it's still here but it's east and so I don't know is it like does it mean like Norfolk way that kind of thing I said yes Norfolk you're going Norfolk I was only aged five and I remember Pauline saying oh well you know he's just kind of figuring out you know he was putting things wrong about a week later a husband had been working for this company he got called into the office and they said to him right we're relocating you um to our kind of like branch out Norfolk way, like Norfolk Norwich way.
35:16And that's where you're going to be sort of, you know, that's where you're going to be. And he sort of relocated and moved out to Attleborough way in Norfolk. That's our neck of the woods. Is it? We're from Norwich. You're both from there, are you? Yeah, yeah. Ah, okay. Yeah. Brilliant. So let's go back to Germany. Sure. Do you, have you got to the bottom of that now? Do you think you, do you believe you had a previous life or do you think you just had a, you could channel someone that lived there? What's your best guess on that? It's really difficult and it's hard for me to explain because I don't have all the answers and I won't confess ever to have all the answers to everything.
35:52All I can talk about is what happened to me and my experiences. And was it a previous life? I can believe that it probably was because it felt like I belonged there and it felt like I didn't belong here. So I believe that if somebody was trying to channel me that was from Germany or been in Germany, I would know that, well, I don't belong there. That's not where I am. I'm obviously tuning into somebody that was from there. But me at the time, I very much felt that I belonged there. So I would lean more towards, yeah, it probably was a previous life that I was connecting to. Did you ever go on to feel like you belonged here?
36:26Yeah, eventually. All those memories started to fade. As I got older, they all started to fade. At that time, it was very, very vivid, like it just happened yesterday. As I got older, it started to fade. and now when I look back it's you know I remember bits of what I was talking about and the images kind of come into my memory but the older you get you know the more you know less they kind of yeah it's like you know if you're if you're going back to your childhood you remember certain bits but it's very distant whereas if you're talking tomorrow about what happened today you'd remember it right yeah and it was very much like that for me is is is reincarnation connected any connected to psychic mediumship in any in any way or is that a different thing i think you know yes you know we can have that and if you're believing in like reincarnation and stuff it can come through in that way for me and what i do and and what i experience is very much from the spirit world you know it's it's it's that i can connect to rather than is there somebody here that's been here before.
37:28I do feel that there are certain souls here that are still alive and living on the earth plane, if you like. I feel that you can connect to somebody and you feel, God, he's wise, I bet he's been here before. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, that's what my granddad used to say about me. He said, because when I was like two, I was drawing like these cartoons and drawing way better than I should have done at two. And he said that I'd been here before. Obviously I have no memory or, but that's what he seemed to believe in. Tough question. How do you know as a five-year-old, you're seeing these people, right?
38:02And it's an odd thing, isn't it? It's unusual. You're one of... But to me, it wasn't. Right. To everybody else, it was. I didn't know any different. How did you know early on, or more so, how did your neighbour know early on that it wasn't something more serious like a mental illness like schizophrenia? Because people who have schizophrenia, they claim to see people, don't they? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But in a different way to how you do. how did you how did you know the difference well i think there's a well i mean i don't know much about schizophrenia yeah and i don't you know i can't confess that yeah i guess she didn't know either right she could only explain from her own experiences what she had gone through right what she witnessed with myself and what she'd heard about myself so she had to go on what she knew if you know what i mean rather than well it could be schizophrenia or whatever she very much had been through this herself yeah kind of understood and then when she saw me and talked to me and i was explaining everything it kind of lent more towards oh maybe it's this ability let's sit him down let's try it right and then when i said everything and it all came true so it was the accuracy that maybe was the accuracy yeah that kind of made everything you know fall into place right yeah okay and then and then so so you're five years old your neighbor confirms this um There was no, you didn't really, did you have any, did you have any tests?
39:21Is there any tests done? What, for schizophrenia? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. For the ability. Is there any, is there any, is there any way a psychic can go and have like a test to other psychics? I honestly don't know. I honestly don't know. There probably is out there, I don't know. I generally don't know. Yeah. I mean, a lot of people will go to like workshops and stuff and there are like colleges and stuff that people can go to, to get in touch with spirituality and what they have. And this is it, you know, I'm not the only one. There's been many people. And I'm sure there's people, even you know, that will have said, I saw this.
39:56Or yes, I have seen a spirit. Or I've had a premonition and it came true. Everybody's had those sort of experiences. And I don't, you know, I don't say that I'm different to anybody else. Yes, I do what I do and I can do what I do. But is it because my brain is more developed in that sort of way than somebody else? And who knows what's going to happen? If we go back hundreds of years, how the human race has evolved and what we are capable of and we only use a small percentage of our brain right so who knows what's going to happen in hundreds of years time maybe we all can kind of connect in a way that we can't connect to right now in this present moment right okay does that make sense yeah it does yeah my my nan claims to have seen many ghosts in her life yeah what's the difference between her seeing ghosts and what you do is she is she is she a psychic or Because everyone has claimed to have seen a ghost at some point.
40:48Everybody has, right? I think it's just probably the frequency in which we all connect and how we can connect and what have you. I think, you know, there are spirits that are here. You know, there are spirits that are kind of everywhere. And, yeah, she's seen many. It all depends on how she does it. Do they come and catch her off guard? Do they catch her by surprises? All those different kind of questions I would want to ask back as to kind of determine, well, maybe she does have this ability. Does she have premonitions, for example? You know, all those sorts of things. And when does it happen?
41:18Can she go into any sort of place and see them? Or does it just happen sporadically? All those sorts of things. But I think everybody, you know, if what I kind of believe is that maybe we just have barriers that are in the way of our kind of process with that and connecting. I don't know. Right. And I will never confess to know all of the answers. I can only talk about me and myself and what I experience and how I have dealt with it. um but maybe you know i know that there's other people out there that can do what i do and have experienced the same thing and i think that probably in everyone's lifetime at least once we have a premonition that really does become true like you are absolutely certain that you knew that that was going to happen you saw it happening or i have seen a spirit and you know i swear i saw somebody there and they're not there anymore and you know all those sorts of things so there's got to be something around us there's got to be energies there's got to be something that's there and nobody would ever have all of the answers to that probably not in my lifetime as to you know how that happens why that happens while we see it but i just know that i can connect to it you know when you were at school and you found out that you had disability did you tell your schoolmates this oh gosh no no and because i kind of like tuned off for it for so many years i i just went and for me going to school i hated school i'm going to be honest i absolutely hated for school and for me it was just like surviving the day and getting out of it yeah i hated you know i didn't really have many friends i was a bit of a loner you know i really was uh i got picked on a lot when i was at school you know i got beaten up and spat on and all those sorts of things what for being gay yeah well no not not even before that i think people knew that i was going to be gay before i did oh really yeah right you know right and like i said you know people called me names you know spat on me push me around kicks me and people pay for that now don't they
43:10they do don't they let's be honest um but no everybody knew even my family knew before me like i remember being a teenager and my mum sat me down and saying right stewart you know look are you gay because if you are there's no issue i have no problem with it i love you you know you're still sure at the end of the day are you and i said no because i generally didn't feel that I was. I didn't feel anything to anybody at that time. I just wanted to get through life, get through school without getting beaten up on and gobbed on and whatever and just get home in one piece. So I didn't feel anything towards anybody.
43:46I just wanted to get on and be a dancer and all of that. But, you know, in later life, you know, all throughout my teens, my nan would want to have readings with me. So I think primary school age, definitely, I kind of like switched off from it. So yes, I worked with Pauline who had spoken to me about being psychic and stuff and told me what it was all about. But only friends and family, close friends and family knew about it. Right. And it freaked a lot of them out. It really did. Things that I was saying, things that I was, you know, talking about that were all true that nobody's like, how does he know that?
44:20It freaked them all out. So I learned very much when people aren't comfortable with this, I feel weird enough as it is. I'm going to shut it all down and just, you know, be a boy at school kind of thing. it wasn't until like my teens that my nan bought me my my first deck a tarot card so i was about 12 or 13 and i think she bought them from like walworth's you know most nans go and get like the pick and mix suite from walworth's don't know i've got a tarot deck um and yeah she loved me giving her readings and seeing what i could get from her and whatever and her friends as well um and then when i saw with when i went to theater school as well because i just had to you know train hard train hard and you know i wanted to be the best i possibly could in that career I kind of shut it all down through there and a lot was going on at that time like my mum and dad were going through a separation and a sort of messy divorce my mum was quite poorly my brother got diagnosed with leukemia all these different things had happened so I never kind of thought any more about it just got very much pushed to the back and I had to live in the moment and saw all the shit that was going on around me yeah I'm at that young age and navigating so I came out when I was 18 that was when I kind of realized that I was going to be this way right um you know so you're navigating your sexuality and all the stuff that was going on at home as well yeah you know talking to spirits and whatever i i just couldn't connect at that time because well it wasn't i couldn't connect i just shut all down from it yeah i mean i just needed to concentrate on the here and now yeah you had a lot to deal with your sexuality to deal with and then you had this ability as well both going on at the same time your head must have been all over the place oh god yeah well one thing i i i find quite comical there is that your nan bought the tarot cards from um like for me that seems like you should be getting them from a specialist website or something like you can just get them from she probably just went in there for christmas to buy me like a selection box and probably saw like this deck of tarot and whatever there and oh stuart would like that you know and just got me them right and that was that how do tarot cards work like did you have to learn how to do them or is that something that naturally i think with most deck of tarot though they come i mean i i do work with tarot and i only kind of use tarot with people if I know too much about them like friends family because I if I'm kind of using spirituality or my psychic ability I don't want to kind of like be um swayed into a way because I know too much about somebody so I don't read for anybody that I know too much about if you're my friend or relative or know too much about I don't want to read for you okay but if you wanted some sort of guidance and what have you then I'll say all right well we'll see what the cards say right we'll get them and let's let's know and see what they say and whatever and we'll do it that way um yeah how accurate do you think tarot are i i mean you know they they can be both they can be very very accurate for somebody and and the thing is is that people want it to be accurate right in that moment when you're having that particular reading with tarot they want it to be accurate right here right now and certain things may not have happened you might not be aware of certain things but then give it a month or two's time and then it all starts to kind of happen it all starts to fall in place are tarot more like a way of pushing someone towards like manifestation then like will someone have a reading and then because these cards have said this they'll start steering their life towards these outcomes that's something that we shouldn't do do you know to me and i say that to everybody like don't come to me with you've got to i've got to know all of the answers and i tell you what i see in your future and you've got to go and do it that way never ever never ever do that you know because you can't rely on a psychic you can't rely on a medium to kind of lean on to guide you through life and help you through life.
47:48We spoke before about is what I do very much like therapy. In a way it is, but the same with a therapist. You know, you'll go and have your counselling sessions, therapy, whatever it is that you're having, but you very much then are having to stand on your own and go and live on your own without relying on your therapist anymore, right? And it's the same with me. I never want people to rely on me. I'm here to kind of, yes, tell you what I see, but then that's very much for you now to be uplifted from that and to be able to you know carry on in a stronger happier way than you were when you first met me and I never want anybody to rely on what I do too much if that makes sense.
48:25Can anyone learn this ability or is it just something that you're born with? I believe so I mean I've I've never had to learn it in a way because I've had it from a young child I think when we get older people get scared of it you You know, when you start to see people in your 20s, 30s, like you said, is it a mental illness? Am I getting ill or is what I'm seeing spirituality? So I can understand why people get confused at that age. But I do believe there are places that you can go to learn and, you know, experience what it is that you have and learn more about it and how to fine tune that, if you like.
48:58Yeah, there are places that you can do that. Obviously, we don't need to talk about religion, but is there a crossover between psychic mediums and religion? is that i don't know because for myself like people keep asking me now am i religious myself and i wouldn't say so right i believe in the afterlife and i believe that there's a place where we're all going to go after and our spirits will be around together i believe in that um so i i don't know you'd have to talk to somebody that is religious about that i don't have all the do you do you have psychic medium friends then are you in them circles or not honestly there's a couple of friends that are yeah i'm not in touch with them all the time like there was one friend that i worked with when i was performing and she was very spiritual right i keep in touch with her um she doesn't necessarily work with it all i don't know i mean she might she might well do um she relocated overseas okay sort of like new jersey way um but here and now no i have a lot of lads lads friends you know all my friends are straight and we're all just like drinking and partying and last banter in a great whatsapp chat you know so uh but they all come and support me this is the thing right so um i i don't have people that i i you know necessarily psychic and stuff you know all the big names that we all might have heard of that are psychic and stuff i don't have them in my in my contacts and stuff you know um i appreciate what they do and whatever great but for myself my close circle my friends and stuff i'm very much a normal steward yeah that just lights normal life.
50:29And when I'm not working, it takes that out of me. So I just want to be having my downtime. I don't want to be tuned because it does exhaust you when you're having all that come through. It's like, it does zap your energy. So I just want to be normal and be with my friends and have fun and live life. And while you're young. Have you ever had it with your mates where you're all just like sat in a pub or whatever and something comes through and you can't, what do your friends? Because if I, obviously I've never shown anything like that, but if I did that around my mates, I'd be like, shut the fuck up.
50:54Yeah. Like, how are your friends with you? like are they do they love it like are they well you know i think they appreciate this is the thing i don't force it down on people so i'm not going to be sitting there going i get this for you and i feel this for you and all that you know i'm not there you know and that that's one thing that people don't realize about me is that you know i'm when i'm not working and i'm not um you know yes i'm spiritual and i believe in it and it's around me all the time but when i'm very much in the moment and i'm with my friends and i'm going around and doing this i'm just in the moment yeah you know i don't have like crystals everywhere and dream catchers and and burn sage every day in my house it's the most normal house you're going to walk into so i'm very much just a normal lad stewart that has this ability and i have been out with my friends and stuff and i've got somebody here today and um he will tell you that we were sat around chatting and what have you and um we he was dating a girl and he brought her to my evening and after we were sort of like we did the evening did the show and stuff and we just sat in a bar and this is kind of the first time that i've meeting this girl and um she just said oh you know i i just want to know that you know my mum is okay she lost her and stuff and whatever and just as she was talking about that um i heard this music and heard this lady and i said your mum says this it was about you know and because she wanted to know like do they attend their own funeral do they come back and attend it and i said you know we're talking about it and then i heard the music that was played at the funeral it kind of came into my head and it was in the arms of the angel i said right in the arms of the angel means something to you and your mum says this this this and this and it was all true in that moment right um so yeah it kind of happens and there'll be advice that they'll want from me all the time What do you pick up about, like yesterday, there was one of my friends is a manager of a work and she was interviewing a few people and she was stuck between which two candidates to go for at the end.
52:55So I got a message. Do I go for this one or do I go for that one? Yeah. Yeah. So what are you looking into then when it comes to that, when it comes to two live people and your friends asking for advice, what are you tapping into then? I tap into a thought into the future. who do I see in that position who am I seeing at that desk who am I seeing doing that job you know with I don't want as you know I don't want much detail or whatever I would say right I'm looking into the future I'm seeing this person they look like this they're doing this job and blah blah blah that's who it is so whoever matches that description out of the candidates that's the one that I'm seeing do it right but they shouldn't really be coming to me because I like I said I want people to rely on me do you know what i mean to do that right you know okay um you mentioned the afterlife there you believe in the afterlife yeah um what does that um what does that physically look like to you sierra has all the best active and outdoor brands you need from athletic stuff like a full court pickup game swish to athletic stuff like a half mile stroll get those steps in and for morning hikes up the mountain trail good pace to nighttime ghost stories from the camping chair.

Propel hydrates better than water to help you get the most out of your workout and get back to your best self what propels you propel with gatorade electrolytes and and have have you seen the afterlife in terms of is it a physical place do you so with myself like i i have spirits that very much come down to me what does the afterlife look like what is the afterlife again i don't have all the answers to that and i'll never confess to know everything about it all i know is what i see and what i feel and what i experience and the spirits that i see before me what is the process what what happens and what have you well for me like i i just you know for me i i believe because when i see spirits come through i kind of know and i kind of get a sense as to what happened here but they very much are in their their well state if you like so when they were here before they got ill or anything kind of happened i see them in that so i believe that it's a very healing place and you're you're you're your best in that spirit world if that makes sense that's how i see everybody okay have it but they very much are in my space rather than me in going up there that they come to me to visit me and when i'm connecting um it's almost like trying to tune into the perfect radio station if you're old enough to remember when you're trying to tune in your car radio and it's all crackly and then you get that real clear frequency so when i'm in a theater or when even in like one-to-ones when i used to do one-to-ones years ago um i'm tuning into that and the the voice that is the most clear is the one that i listen to and then when i'm tuning in and i'm hearing it and i'm allowing that frequency and that energy to really come through strongly i'll then start to see them and i'll get a very much you know sense of them before me so i'm hearing them i'm seeing them and it happens that way and they're presenting themselves like you say in a fit state then so if they died in a tragic accident you don't see them mangled up and stuff like that right well i don't but like if someone died falling off a cliff yeah expect them that's what they look like then for that yeah and i will i will feel it so for example like um i've i've dealt with sensitive things like where there have been accidents or there might have been a murder for example and i will get a feeling so like um i can't talk about what happened the other evening in the theater um i was there and i just finished delivering a message to somebody in the audience and stuff and I'm back on stage and as I'm walking back to stage it's almost like somebody had twatted me over the head right and do you feel that what yeah I literally felt it yeah do you move is it is it me about to pass away right now or is it what I'm sensing around me so I had it on my head and it was just like immense pressure like I've been hit over the head but it kept coming and going coming and going coming and going and I just had to tell the audience what i was experiencing and then this lady came before me and i could see this lady and what have you and you know i've got the name and all this and what have you and i really got a good sense of her and then um the person in the audience was connected to her said yes you know that's how she passed away unfortunately it was a murder and she got beaten over the head multiple times i think she was like 30 or 40 times over the head by somebody and that's what i literally was feeling and experiencing in that moment so there's there's all different things you can experience then you You can actually see the person.
57:41Sometimes you experience the moment of what happened to them. It's all different things. Do you have a thing that's most common for you? What's the most common to me? How they pass? Is it, do you see them in there? Do you physically see them more? Do you see the stuff that happened to them more? What's your specialist? I get a sense of like when they passed, you know, and I'll get a sense of kind of what happened to them, were they poorly? um because i kind of feel it come over me like i feel like i'm getting smaller so to me that resembles like okay i feel like i'm weak and i feel like i'm you know right it could have been an illness it could have been like a cancer or something that got hold of them i also feel like if it was something sudden it could have been an accident or a natural cause but a very sudden like freak thing that happened like a sudden heart attack with somebody that they weren't expected to pass in but they they passed away suddenly but it wasn't an accident so it could be like somebody in their 30s 40s that unfortunately had a heart attack or something you know right so i sense all these different things that might have happened but i still very much even though i've sensed how they passed i see them looking well they look like they were you know are they clothed yes they are yeah they're never never naked it's not a porn show no i know it's not a porn show that i have do you know what i mean i don't have all the spirits and porn hub coming like to me do you know what i mean i know but it's just i'm just trying to think like because obviously this is unusual for me i don't have this ability so so i do they do that what what are they wearing like if if for example you saw the spirit of king henry the eighth is he wearing what he would have worn then or is he wearing they would typically worn you know is it something that they were you know they were in the coffin with is it something that they were just that's who they were yeah you know like for example you're with me now you've got a cap on t-shirt and whatever yeah if that's something that you wear every single day and that's you your character and that's what you prefer to wear, then that's how I'll see you in a spirit world.
59:37And if you saw the same spirit, have you seen the same spirit more than once? Possibly, yeah, possibly. Like, so if you saw... And they don't have a change. No, I was going to say, if you saw my nan twice, would she be wearing different things or would she just be in that one... What, dress for breakfast and dress for dinner? Yeah. No. Right. And then, so when you see a spirit, do they physically look there like how I look now or do they look ghostly? No, better looking.
1:00:10Do they look opaque? They look exactly right in their well state. So if your nan always had pale sort of ivory skin, that's how she was and that's how I'd see her. And if somebody's darker, then I see them being dark. Does that mean you could struggle sometimes between seeing who you think is a real person in front of you or essentially a ghost? No. you know how do you know the difference because they're near me and they're communicating me in a way that nobody else is like they're talking to me like this is who if i'm talking if i'm seeing somebody like right now you're going to have a conversation with me about the here and now you're not going to be like right this is who i am this is why i'm here yeah i need you to contact this person i passed away this and this is what happened to me are they quite urgent do they seem quite like absolutely and when i yeah and people that have come and see me they'll know they'll see that I will say, right, I've got a spirit coming through.
1:01:00There is an urgency with him. He's coming through with force to tell me all of this information because he's got to get it out there and he's got to get this message to somebody. And I will say it like that. So they do come through in that way. Could anyone trick you then? Like, so for example, if, so if I... What, you pretend to be a spirit? Yeah, literally, right? So like if I went outside now and I said, right, Stuart Michaels up there, psychic medium. Go up there and burst in the room and go, I'm from the spirit world. Would you, how would you, how would you determine, how would you work out that they're not from the spirit world and they're trying to pull a prank on you?
1:01:33I'm not fucking stupid. Yeah, but do you know what I mean? But you say they look the same as people that are alive. Well, they do, yeah, they do. But like I said, you know, I've never really had somebody that's just like bursting through a door and say, I'm a spirit, you know what I mean? What if you were just walking down the street then and someone came past, like brushed past your shoulder and was like. No, I don't, this is what I'm saying. I don't allow that to happen because you're shut off when I'm walking down I'm shut out to it so I only allow it to come through so you know if somebody if I'm I'm going to have to test myself now if I was on stage and I'm in a theatre and I open myself up to allow these people come in if I ever have a spirit that bursts in that way I'm a spirit I'm here I will ring you and I'll let you know but usually no they don't come in that way no no right okay yeah you're obviously you're a very funny guy oh thank you And you're a very open guy.
1:02:29And I completely see why people would want to come to one of your shows because you're not just any psychic medium, you add the humour to it as well. It's like a performance. Yeah, well, it's not a performance. It is me. It's me. And a lot of, besides people kind of being really lovely and saying, oh, it's a great evening, thank you for bringing this to people. And then people will even say to me, even though I came and I travelled the distance to come and see you and I didn't get a message myself, it was great to see what you do. and the people that did have the messages, you know, needed them.
1:02:57But a lot of the time it's, I loved your humour. And a lot of comments are, do you know what, Stuart, I'd love to have a night out with you. I bet you're good to spend a night out. And, you know, just be careful what you wish for is what I say. How do you feel? Because I imagine you meet a lot of sceptics, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't really meet them. Yeah, but online and stuff like that. And that's the nature of what you do. Of course, yeah. And like, so for example, just a bit of context, I used to be a strong atheist, right? And we spoke about this on the podcast recently, that as I've got older, I'm more accepting to the fact that just because someone's religious, it doesn't mean that I'm right and they're wrong, right?
1:03:37Of course, yeah. And when it comes to psychic mediumship, I'm not a believer, right? But that's why we have all different people from all different walks of life on here to learn about it. Absolutely. So how do you, I feel like you're quite open and you're up for answering questions. But what do you say to sceptics? Well, I'm not here to change anyone's mind, thoughts or opinions on anything. Yeah. You know. And I do what I do. You can come see what I do. You can still walk away saying, I still don't believe. Yeah, that's totally fine. Right. It's totally fine. I think it was Ricky Gervais, wasn't it?
1:04:16That said there were so many religions in the world. And I think he said that he's atheist or whatever. I just believe in one less thing than what you do. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. And it's very much like this with myself. I do what I do. I see what I do. I do these evenings to bring people the comfort, the validation that they want and the messages that I do. and I hope that it, with what I do, comforts them. It lifts their spirits and what have you. But if there's people out there that say, I don't believe it, that's totally fine. And like you said, everybody's got the right to believe in what they want to believe.
1:04:46Of course, yeah. But if what you do believe and what you've witnessed yourself, because it's not just me that does this. There's people out there that haven't got a platform, that aren't probably working professionally doing what I do, but probably still at home right now saying, well, do you know what? I've seen spirits and I get that. and oh yeah i've had that too and this has happened to me and that's totally fine and you know it it's it's that you know people experience it people have it they have that ability they see things in the future they see things that have happened in the past they can see spirits you know there are people out there that do it people that just we don't know about but they're out there that they can have it but besides all of that no matter what you believe in or what you experience or what you've physically experienced and witnessed yourself if what you do believe in brings you a sense of connection brings you a sense of peace brings you that sense of happiness then whatever it is we just need to open it you know you know we just need to kind of approach it with openness and with respect and that's it do you think you get skeptics who go to see you to either prove that it isn't real or to potentially open themselves up to it or do you think the majority of your audiences are already all in probably you know there probably are people out there that have attended my shows that want to kind of just have their opinions forced upon it and what have you and try and pick things apart and what have you and whatever you're always going to have that there's always going to be skeptics out there no matter what it is you know um you know i don't talk about religion i'm not going to get into that but there's so many different religions and what have you there's so many different things that people believe in that we're never all going to believe in the same thing right and that's totally fine it makes it makes every it makes life interesting yeah and what have you do you do you find that you have to try and justify what you do a lot of the time or or not i think with people that don't know me and with people that meet me for the first time when a lad's night out i am working in hr so you just don't even mention it no because if i do i'm going to be talking about it all night and do you not like talking about it Oh, I do.
1:06:53I'm on a night out. Do you know what I mean? And I've probably answered those questions over and over and over and over again. Yeah, yeah. And my mates are probably trying to pull this bird, but she's more interested in me in what I do. So just being a nice, polite wingman, I'm the HR manager, and nobody wants to think about HR. Let's be honest. I just shut that down. Yeah. To be fair, if you worked in HR, you wouldn't be on this podcast. We're here for your ability, not your HR. Thank you so much. And I'm here for it. but yeah I you know I do that you know people will want a question and they're interested but the main question that I have once people find out is do you get anything for me do you what do you pick up about me is anybody around me what about this what about that would you pick up do you get anything for us no because I'm not switched on right I mean I said that you know from the beginning you know I'm here and I'm very much switched off from it all today yeah um and but you know yeah if we were to go out later or something and you wanted me to tune into something there may be but i have to be in the right place i have to kind of you know what i mean um it's it's that way can i ask you a tough question if you so you you're on here to talk about psychic mediumship and to showcase what you do and there'll be a lot of our audience that probably on the fence you could potentially win them around to come to your show why wouldn't you switch on today and why wouldn't you do you know i mean you said you've switched on so why wouldn't you switch on why wouldn't i yeah during this show because you know i mean it's not about why wouldn't i It's just that I'm in this space where it was an interview and it was about life and it was about career.
1:08:22That's what I was told. It wasn't about anybody that said, oh, I want to have a reading today. You know what I mean? OK. So it was just, oh, I've come here in this space. OK, we're talking about life, we're talking about career. Well, I'll be in that space. But what I don't like doing is when people are so prolific and like celebrities and what have you, and everybody's lives out there or things are kind of like easily, you know what I mean? People will say, oh, you might have known about that. Is this a setup? Is that? Come and see it live for yourself. you might get a message and then that's the best way of kind of proving to kind of see it to witness it rather than see a recording of something that and people have always said this to you like would you have your own tv show would you do this would you do that and yeah i would if it was done in the right way but there's so many things that people skeptics or so it's been edited in a certain way it's been edited to look this way it's been edited to look that way and that's why i do you know the live events now because that's the best way of seeing what i do okay do you think there are some people out there that will be that that will claim to have the ability just to make money from it i'm sure there are i mean there's people out there that claim to be builders and gardeners and whatever they're just complete cowboys you know there are people out there claiming to be anything um so it's not just it's not just solely in the psychic mediumship world you know there's people out there that will claim to be anything so yeah i'm sure there are people out there that are claiming it and that's that's terrible because you know you do have people that are vulnerable out there and what have you and um but for myself i don't ever want to prone anybody yes i do my evenings i'm like well i'm going to be here on this day this is where i am you can come to me or not and i don't give private readings anymore because i am very busy with that and even when i was giving private readings i wouldn't want people to be um reliant upon me not to me yeah you know don't see me again for another year or whatever you know go and live your life you've got to do that you can't rely on what I do as that how would people choose between or like find the correct psychic medium then and like be able to weed out the ones that are just trying to make money from it because like I've scrolled on TikTok before and I'll just see like people doing it through that and I'm thinking how was how are they doing this properly through a camera when and really they're just getting loads of gifts on their lives how does how does the person know to like go to a show like yours that should be legitimate compared to it's a hard one to kind of explain like what they should be doing because everybody's got the right to do what they want to do and and whatever and you you can't stop somebody being a scroll on tiktok and they come across a psychic medium on tiktok and they sign up to them they follow them they have a reading from them what have you we're never going to be able to stop that and it's hard for anybody to say well is that person genuine or not you know until you've had that experience with them so you're never going to know until you've had that experience unfortunately um that's the only way i can say about it if if they're if they're good enough at faking it are they still giving that person the same kind of thing you're giving them if that makes sense like they're still getting the reassurance the happiness at the end of it even though they've not actually spoken to this person they're still leaving that experience feeling happier it's that's does that matter it's a tough one i think I think so you know that's down to everybody's individual um morals and their own moral compass isn't it at the end of the day if you know that you're doing something and you're a fake and you're you're just doing it purely to make money from it that comes down to you as an individual and you know you shouldn't be doing it let's be honest um that comes very much down to the individual doing it right um they need to kind of realize that you know what they're doing so so if someone came to your show and they wanted they desperately wanted you to contact like their deceased man and you couldn't or she wasn't there i'm very honest so i've had people that have come to my evenings and you know i might have brought somebody through but they're wanting to have hear from somebody else i've got to be very honest i'm being very transparent here i'm not getting it i'm never gonna sort of say i've got somebody here if i haven't got somebody here do you know what i mean i might get a spirit come through but it's not like i've got your whole line of but this one's come through and really sorry i'm gonna be really transparent i'm not picking this up i'm not picking that up i'm not getting that okay you know and i've been asked in interviews before you know like i've done interviews um for magazines and stuff and they'll they'll ask me do you predict this do you predict and i'm very honest no i don't see it happening really sorry but i don't i'm very very honest yeah i'd rather be you know and i might be wrong i'm not gonna say i get everything right but i only say what i feel yeah and what i you know i'm very honest about them, very transparent about it.
1:12:52Have you had shows that have just gone completely wrong then because it's not up to you what you channel? So is it? There's been evenings where, you know, there are evenings where it can be really up here and the energy is really, really high and it's very fast paced and whatever. And there are other evenings where I'm trying my hardest to get the audience, you know, up to my level and whatever. Because for me, I love energy and I love to kind of have the banter and the laughter and everybody to be relaxed. And sometimes like if there's been a few very serious messages and the way that they kind of pass might have been tragic and what have you you know you you i lean towards you the empathy and what have you what does happen a lot of the time pretty much every single night um i will do an evening and there'll be a spirit that might not be claimed and i'm like i'm getting it i'm really i'm getting i'm feeling this i'm feeling that but then like after the event there'll be a message or i do a meet and greet her at the end um and a lady will come oh that was for me you know you you said that that was definitely for me i was just so scared to put my hand up and and kind of talking i was really nervous it really shocked me and it's overwhelming sense of emotion i just didn't want to go through that that's fine no problem understand so that those sorts of things happen and yeah you know there might be there might be nice so and this is the thing with what i do i always say it's almost like you've you've got to think of this gift but for myself as you know it's almost like an athlete you've got to train in the right way you've got to rest in the right way and if i'm not rested if i'm not feeling well or that affects what comes through to me too so i always have to look after myself i have to be well rested well fed well watered all those sorts of things to allow everything to come through right so you know if i'm not very well and what have you or you know i'm really tired because i've done too much or what have you then i have to really think about right well i'm not i'm going to say no to this interview because i need to be focused on tonight i need to be rested well to do what I do because I don't want to you know but to answer your question I never take what I do for granted every single night before I go on let me tell you I'm shitting myself because I do often fear is this the night I get nothing yeah is this the night when nothing comes through for me actors have lines singers have songs dancers have steps comedians have jokes I go on there with nothing and for the next two hours I don't know where I'm going to be taken what's going to come through or whatever and that is terrifying right so i never take what i have for granted and i'm i'm you know i love every night that you know things do come through and i have things for people but yeah before i go on i'm literally cacking myself you'll ask all my friends and all my team i'm like oh do you know what i don't know tonight's gonna go well no i just don't know i don't know and i never know until i get on there what's the worst thing to happen to you on stage i what's the have you ever got something massively wrong and then what's we'll flip it and say what's the craziest thing that you think you've got right in your whole career the worst thing that has ever happened to me on stage um there's nothing bad that's ever happened truthfully there's nothing ever anything bad that's happened that i can kind of think of but there's been some really sort of wonderful moments that have happened um that you know they can be funny they can be really sort of emotional as well um you know when you're when you're bringing it through and that can be about how the person passed and um this person's never heard from them before you know they might have been passed a while and they've always been hoping to and then suddenly it kind of happens and that's always a lovely moment as well that's always a lovely moment um i can't think of anything bad that's happened um no okay no uh so can you can you predict the future as well then i can see into the future yeah like if i tune into things i will predict things and whatever how does that work do you see an image kind of that's that's not my own it's like a memory okay i've not had does that make sense yeah are you are you trying to think of specifics to make that happen or is it just does it is it just something that comes to you it's just like an image that will just come to me and it's there and it's set and it's like it's like it's happened but it's not because it's not my own memory so it so it's like it's got to be happening because i can see it it's very much real yeah but it's not nothing that i've been involved in yet what's the craziest thing you've ever predicted the craziest thing i've ever predicted uh have you ever seen like um like a big world event happen before no i don't and this is the thing i only use what i have in a way that's kind of useful and helpful to people and people have said this have you not ever predicted this have you not ever predicted that well like lottery numbers and stuff yeah but what use is that yeah I mean people say lottery is very useful but you know with like world events for example if there's you know again not talking about politics but like war disease all those sorts of things well no because what's who's going to believe little old me even if I did see all of that nobody's going to believe little old me yeah so there's just no point and I don't allow myself to see anything bad or negative about anything either so I never have I wouldn't see the next 9-11 or anything terrific like that.
1:17:49I wouldn't want to. No. I wouldn't want to. Right. You know, I'm just little Stuart. Yeah. I mean, I don't want to have those bad thoughts that are too heavy for me to kind of deal with. And that would scare me. Yeah. If I was to see that, it would absolutely terrify me. If you saw my future now, and you saw that when I leave here today, I'm going to get hit by a bus just outside in Highbury, would you let me know or not? 1:18:52what's the difference between what's the difference between like individually channeling and group channeling because obviously your shows are quite a few people in a crowd whereas you said you you've done one-on-ones before how when there's a crowd of this many people you can say i'm getting this person and give kind of um broad things and someone in the crowd might go oh that's for me but then you're that person isn't giving you a specific but then when you do a one-to-one you're managing to get the exact person that person wants because it's more direct i'm very very good in a theater event where if i don't believe it's for you i'd say no put your hand on this isn't for you okay because you do get people that will put their hand up less than they're so desperate to have a message you know and and they'll want to put their hand up to blooming everything i'm very strict on their hands down it's not for you um and i generally feel and i feel warm i do walk in towards the audience as well and i feel warm in an area like i feel like i'm here because of a sudden and usually like the spirit that i'm with is like it's almost like i'm being pushed gently in a certain direction as to where i've got to be where i've got to deliver that message to so i work in that way so if several people put their hand up yeah very very good at no i don't think it's for you and I'll work with the spirit to get more from him or her so that it kind of eliminates the people that it's not for okay I don't just kind of carry on with the message and be talking to three or four different people and no I shut that down do you do you do you hate skeptics then do you do you feel a strong like I don't hate anybody hates a very strong word or do do skeptics make you angry then because I think I think there's some there's some skeptics out there that say things and do things literally just for clickbait right you know and say it and they'll they'll talk about things just to you know just just for clickbait and you know views and what have you you know um the thing is is that they will have their certain belief it might be that it's a religion it might be that they're an atheist it might be that they just believe that when we pass away that's it nothing else happens and that's it that's it well okay you're entitled to that yeah you know but there's so many people regardless of psychic mediums even if even if there was no psychic mediums that existed people will still believe in an afterlife of some sort you know people will my audiences will still believe in an afterlife and spirituality and what have you so it's just very much i don't mind people saying i don't believe in it and whatever but it's when people go out of their way yeah to cause issues and to cause problems and to have their way kind of their way of thinking forced upon other people that's when it's like you know let people believe in what they want to believe in yeah what i mean and like myself i don't force people to believe in what i do no no i showcase what i do and i do what i do but i'm never going to say you've got to believe this this is the only way of the highway yeah everybody's entitled but like so like because we're not on here as a gotcha or anything like we're genuinely just interested to see and and i'll probably leave here with the same beliefs i had before but that's not i'm not i'm not saying you're here to con anyone no so but if say it was say we flipped and i had the ability and you were questioning even though the like we mean the questions as natural as they can and we won't edit this we'll just upload this as one whole piece if i knew i had this ability and someone was quizzing me no matter how organic the questions are trying to be i'd be angry because i'd be like well i know i have this ability so i did so do you not have any anger there when what's what what use is that going to be for me to be angry right do you know what i mean right what what use is being angry about something and it doesn't matter anger's caused wars yeah right let's be honest and i'm not here to talk about politics because i'm not going to be angry about it yeah people people can it's not until you've experienced it and i like and i get that it's not until you've experienced it or had something happen to you yeah that you ever will and and that's that's probably behind it you know um you know i'm just a very normal person i don't have the ability to change people's minds or what have you you know i showcase what i do but if people are not going to believe they're not going to believe and people believe that they believe i can only do what i do and showcase what i have and what i do um now getting angry about something it's not going to get you anywhere yeah it's just because yeah it's it's like you you know what you can do yeah um if i'm for example like i know i love my partner right yeah love is not a physical thing that you can see or feel right but the thing is is like for example like you know i don't go to church but I don't have religious people getting angry that I don't go there.
1:23:22Do you know what I'm saying? No, no, no, no. So it works both ways. Yeah, I just... Do you see what I'm saying? Yeah, I just guess if somebody said to me, oh, I don't... If somebody questioned, oh, you don't love your partner, I'd be like, well, I know I do love my partner, right? So if someone says to you, oh, I know you can't do what you're claiming to do, I just wondered if that would frustrate you or upset me. Oh, no, don't get me wrong. Yeah, there's frustrations. There's upset. It's, you know, and accusations, of course. of course they do yeah but look it's always going to be there yeah yeah it's always going to be there no matter what whether it's about what i do whether it's about a different belief or what have you yeah there's always going to be differences of opinion with whatever anybody believes in yes when it's more personal it's about your partner and you know as well yeah it's there is that of course you're going to defend yourself and to a certain degree yeah you know of course i I want to defend myself and have that.
1:24:13But getting angry and what have you, to me, it's just, well, it's a waste of time. It really is because if it's not going to be that person, it'll be somebody else, it'll be somebody else, it'll be somebody else. I think that's always going to be there. What's your opinion on Darren Brown? I'm sorry, I just was like, who is that? I was like, Darren Brown, sorry. Sorry, that's really, no, I know who you mean. Okay, right, I know what he's done and what have you. and he does a great evening. He does a great evening. People have asked me that before, like watching a Derren Brown, watching a Clinton Baptiste.
1:24:45Right. Well, me and Clinton Baptiste follow each other. Yeah, yeah. Do you know who that is? You're like, who the hell is Clinton Baptiste? Yeah, he's the one who goes, I'm getting the word no. It's that guy. Yeah, he's funny. So we follow each other. His whole shtick is taking the piss out of sight. Yeah, and I messaged him and I was like, I find you hilarious. Right. And he messaged back and goes, oh my gosh, you know, like, thank you. Yeah. And I was like, I've been meaning to come and see your show for ages, but I'm always on tour myself. But, you know, people are always going to laugh about things and whatever.
1:25:10And, you know, he's doing it and it's taking the pee out of psychic mediums and stuff. But if you can't laugh at yourself, who are you going to laugh at? Yeah, yeah. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. Like I said, I'm Stuart. Yes, people, you know, I have the ability and the gift of a psychic medium. But I'm still, I'm just me. You know, I'm very much me. So I laugh at those sorts of things, you know. and I know and I can laugh at myself too yeah do you do you think Derren Brown had an effect on your industry like your business with the thing he did where he was trying to prove I think when Derren Brown was you know he had his shows you know on television and what have you that was kind of before I was touring before all of that um but certainly you know I think I think you know a lot of people will certainly refer to him and what he was talking about with psychic media and stuff i know people do talk about what he did and and what he what have you know what have you and the documentary where he tried to like rubbish the the whole the whole field of it that's what we're referring to isn't it and i'll be honest i've not seen it i saw with derren brown i saw shows um i saw his shows derren brown um he did that one night as well when he predicted the lottery numbers didn't he yeah yeah yeah got a huge group of people i saw that and then um i also saw the ones where he almost kind of makes people want to jump off a building yeah yeah that one yeah i so I've seen those when it comes to lots of other things.
1:26:30So there's a lot of times when I was out of the country, I was working away overseas when I was performing. So I didn't actually see a lot of what he, he did. Yeah. Would you ever sit down and have an interview with Darren Brown? Would you ever sit down and have an interview? Or, or have like a debate with him? Cause I would like to see it. I would like to see both, both worlds collide. It's almost like neither of you can show definitive proof. Like he can't a hundred percent say that you can't, and you couldn't. 100 % of it. Look, what good is ever going to come of it? This is the thing. And I'm very careful with not wasting my time.
1:27:03So I'm very respectful for Darren Byrne. I don't have a problem. I'd love to go and see his show and whatever, you know, and I'd go and have a drink with him and whatever, and we can be friends. You know what I mean? I'm not about, you know, not talking to these people. There are so many people that don't believe in what I do. That's totally fine. It doesn't mean that we can't be friends. Do you have friends that don't believe in what you do? Of course, yeah. You do. Absolutely. and they're very open and honest about it. Does that mean that I'm not going to be their friends just because there's one part of me that they don't agree with?
1:27:31There's probably lots of things that they do in their life that I don't agree with. Of course. But it doesn't mean that we can't get help. How does that work? Like in a friendship, like I guess because you turn it off, I guess they just don't really ever see you doing it? Or have there been situations where you're next to a mate who doesn't believe any of it and you're still getting something come through? Like I said, that has happened before. You know, I'm usually switched off when I'm with my mates and stuff, but there's been times where I've had to switch on and say something and, you know, it's resonated with them.
1:27:57And I've had mates that have been, I just don't know. And then they will have come to my shows and my events like, I just don't know how that happened, you know. And they, you know, it's that. And until you kind of see it and witness it and experience it, like I said, if you do, you might come and you might walk away going, well, that's brilliant. I don't know how that happened. And, yeah, I feel like I'm changing my beliefs slightly and I'm leaning more towards the afterlife. Or you might go away thinking, oh, I still don't. yeah even it and you walk and that's again that's totally fine so with things you know having discussions with skeptics and what have you you know i'm always going to have my beliefs no one's ever going to change that i see what i see i do what i do i feel what i feel and i've had it all my life and people like derren brown or others will always have that so there's no point having a debate or whatever because nothing's ever going to change so you know i would happily sit and chat with derren brown and i out and and talk about life and whatever but debating and whatever and this and that and the other yeah just i mean yeah um what what would you say is is your your biggest proof for what you do if you if you the biggest proof yeah um well look i mean there's nothing more i i can physically do to prove anything yeah i mean i do what i do um it's it it's just what i've given people you know there's things that i've said to people that nobody else would know there's no way you know people will think that all these nights are this it's there's an earpiece this is that there's so many different things that people do you wear it do you wear any kind of earpiece no i have a headset microphone and that's always from the theater right i'll use theirs and they'll give me a a microphone yeah um but that's it um but you know people will will think all sorts of different things and whatever but then they'll have a message themselves of a night and oh god how did you get that that's not anywhere nobody's ever know about that and he he knew that and he was so accurate with the details and the one thing that i wanted him to say that would prove that he said do you know what i mean that has happened before yeah um yeah you know and until people have those sorts of experiences it's it's hard to kind of judge or or you know have any set beliefs on anything so so um if somebody's out there and they're on the fence they don't think bad or good how would what would you say what would be yourself to get them to come to your show what would you say it's just it's just being open yeah that's it it's just being open to two things and to new experiences you know um the only way that i can relate it to is you know look there might be certain foods that i might not immediately want to go and try or you know i don't think i'll enjoy that sort of food but i'll go there and eat it and you know what i might enjoy it yeah and it might be brilliant and i might always go back to that restaurant it's going to be my favorite restaurant to go and delve into and it's the same with what i do if you're kind of on the fence and whatever be open about it you might walk away believing you know or having and experience yourself from that night, you might not.
1:30:44But go see, and if you don't and it's not for you, fine. Yeah, no, I think it's a good way to put it. And I'd be intrigued to come and see a show. And this is the thing, with me and my history, it's all happened organically. Yeah. I started giving one-to-one messages. In my life, it's kind of happened. I never chose this path or this life. It kind of happened organically. I was somebody that went from just one day a week, I'll help people people have found out that I've got this psychic ability okay fine I do one day a week and then it suddenly went to two to three to four to doing it full time with the demand and then people were like oh god you can do this do that and they were telling pubs locally to them well you want to get this steward you know get him down this and the pubs started calling me and then the venues and then I was like gosh you need something bigger because they were selling out to do a theatre and it's all happened organically but my purpose has never been to be like I am the only psychic medium or it's my way of thinking or the highway it's just it's happened organically and i'm very aware that people have the right to believe in what they want to believe yeah do you know what i mean yeah that's never been my purpose it's always been about showcasing what i'm doing helping people at the end of the day it's never been about debating with people it's never been about dealing with skeptics or having people converted yeah it's never been about you don't with the people who don't believe you don't need them there anyway so you're just this is it you know like it's the same with comedians and you're tasting music and tasting singers you know not everybody's going to love Beyonce not everybody's going to love Ricky Gervais and if you don't you're not their audience and it's the same with me it's the same with me right you know yeah yeah I'd be yeah I I would I would like to come I hope you don't think that we're trying to of course not no no no no no catch out or or anything like that uh you're on tour at the moment aren't you yes yeah so where can people come and get tickets to a Stuart Michael so all of my dates on my website stuartmichael.net and when you book that takes straight to the theatre's website and ebook via the way the theatre there which is a link to to the theatre um all the list of dates are on there I'm touring uh England I'm back in Scotland this year and then I've already got dates that are going to be announced soon for like 2027 they're all being programmed at the moment I'm doing again Scotland Wales I'm coming to Wales finally they've been asking for me but I am coming um I go as far north as you know right up north in Scotland as far south as the Isle of Wight and anywhere in between do you like touring do you like the I know you love doing the shows it's hard work you know and the thing for me is you know when you're doing back to back nights and stuff and you're you're on the road a lot um you know i'm away from home and i'm in different beds every night not in that way obviously not hotel beds but with myself you know because i've been up here with the energy and i've got to be up here to to get all the energies come through i go to bed of an evening i can't switch off i can't sleep adrenaline yeah adrenaline's pumping and everything so it'll take me to like four five six o 'clock in the morning sometimes to fall asleep and then a few hours later i've got to have my breakfast get in the van and go to the next venue so it can be tiring yeah yeah you've done a live reading for rylan as well is that right oh yeah yeah i did how did that go i love rylan he's great yeah yeah was it was it on was it on air or that was on bbc radio too yeah oh wow can people can people find that and hear that or i don't know yeah i think they put it out on their website you know like the pre-records and stuff i don't know how long it goes back yeah if that makes sense because it was a month or so ago now with that head.
1:33:59Right. So I don't, but if it's out there, it will be on the BBC radio. Did it go well? Was it a fun time? It was, yeah. So with Rylan, he just wanted to know, you know, what's going to be happening to him in his future. Oh, okay. You know, with work and life and what have you. And yeah, so I went in and had a little chat with him and told him what I could feel and what I could see for him. All positive, was it? Yeah, it was. Not getting by bus. I mean, you didn't see him like you're going to lose your job. Well, that's what he was worrying about. You know, But that's what he was worrying about.
1:34:26But no, I didn't see it, you know, and I can see that there is some longevity in that. You know, he's a personable person. He's a cheeky chappy. He's full of fun. And he gets on with everyone. I've not yet heard anything bad about him from the industry. You know, nobody that knows Ryland has ever said, oh, he's this, he's that. He hasn't got that. What you see of Ryland on TV is what he's like when you meet him. So when we weren't recording, he's just the same. He was a lovely guy. I'd get on great with him. And he's somebody that, you know, I'd have a drink with and whatever and talk until the early hours of the morning.
1:35:03You know, he's a great guy. And I wish him every success. I really do. I love it. As with you both as well. I wish you both every success too. Thank you. This has been interesting. It's been a world that we don't know anything about. I feel like I know it a little bit more now. I don't know where my head's at. I'd love to come to a show. I would be intrigued to see a show. Come along. So you say you're both, what? Both Norwich. Norwich. Norwich. Oh, you see, you just missed me last week. I was in Lowestoff. Oh, well, yeah. That's where your dad's from, isn't it? How come? One last question. Why do spirits, why can they be a bit, like, fussy sometimes?
1:35:34And, like, they'll only give you, like, their first letter of their name as opposed to just telling you their name. Do you know what I mean? Oh, I don't really have that. You need to come and see my events. Do you not do that? Sometimes I'll be like, I'll look at somebody and my psychic ability is kind of, like, looking at somebody and I'll see something that is linked there, but then I'll get the name through that. Oh, okay. Will you ever get a message from someone where you're like, I am not saying that? Will they ever go like, tell Linda she's a fat bitch or something like that? Is it always positive that the messages that they gave, or can they actually be bad?
1:36:07Right. Sometimes I will say a message in a very sort of diplomatic way. But no, usually this is it. No spirits ever come through with any sort of negativity or anything like that. They'll always give warnings. Like, oh, tell her, you know, watch out for this. This is what's going on in the family at the moment. They need to be aware of this, this and this and this. And that's great because, you know, with every life, there's bumps in the roads, right? And if using what I do can help people just navigate, getting around those bumps and, you know, carrying on, then great. But no, I don't have anybody saying, oh, she was the right cow to me.
1:36:39Because if I die soon, I'm going to come to you and I'm going to tell you to call him fat cunt. Well, then he'll probably know it's from you, right? He'll just say it to me whilst he's alive. So I don't know why he's happened to me like that. You don't need me to do it. As it goes. Do you know what I mean? I'll finally be rid of him and then I just get that straight for you so you know what you said earlier you know would I know if somebody just came in off the street and what's the difference between like you know a real person pretending to be a spirit or actually a spirit so I'll know now that if you come in and you say tell him he's the facts to you next Tuesday that yeah he's dead we'll go to one of his shows and you charge the stage and be like tell Stevie and then he'll be like shut up Jack and I'll go Jack died last week and then that's how we that's how we did it Just one final thing.
1:37:23Do you never get demonic spirits then? Because obviously that's another thing. No, because I don't let them come through too. So many things have happened. Not demonic, but people get scared of what's happened. I was at a pub. I did a night there, a psycho night. This was a few years ago, before I was touring and stuff. And I did the night and whatever. And I was talking after the event with the landlord and whatever. And all of a sudden, we were talking about spirituality. We were talking about the night and whatever. and then all of a sudden the window smashed yeah the window smashed and there's this hole in the window just this perfect like hole in the window no stone had been thrown no brick no nothing there was nobody outside like through throwing it or anything there was nobody out there no car had gone by and chipped a stone up out the window nothing it was there it's my freakiest thing um so that's kind of happened so it's not like i've had demons or demonic but they've just kind of like come through to let me know what do you think that was then i just think sometimes it's with force you know maybe it was a spirit that i hadn't tuned into that night they're just wanting my attention and what have you who knows what it is that's happened a few times the reason i asked about the monica is because we as jack said we are skeptical about it like it's not something we've believed in before we did go to a village in the uk called pluckley which is known to be like the most haunted it's like kent down in kent way it's in the guinness uh guinness book world records for being the most haunted yeah okay we spent 24 hours there and went to the screaming woods and all this stuff and like even though we're complete skeptics there were moments where we were just terrified yeah we still felt things like the church we went to was so creepy and like but have you also on the flip side have you ever gone somewhere and had like a sudden sense of calm and oh i just feel have you ever had that as well when you've gone somewhere yeah yeah yeah around the guy that used to sell me weed i was gonna say i get it at the beach many moons ago many moons ago is that where you smoked at the beach i've never smoked all right okay very enough i i did um so when um when your was it your agent or your pr company like emailed me about getting you on i was like i'm older now i'm more accepting to things i don't necessarily believe yeah but um i don't know uh i did a video years ago where i um called up skeptics no psychics sorry psychics yeah i called i called up psychics and i got them to tell me about my nan nora that died who wasn't real and i just my nan was called nora there you guys maybe you have got it maybe i'm the psychic um and i and i and i got them to um and i just said yes to everything they said just to see.
1:40:00So these people that are on the other end of the phone, would you often say that they're probably not legitimate? Oh, okay. I don't know about that. I've been asked many, many times, Stuart, would you like to have, you know that they have these 09 numbers where you can call a site and whatever, and you pay like three pounds in your liver to go and have a reading with them. I've said no to every single one. I'm not having my name to that. I really am not. Because you don't know, it could be Barbara at home, but it's sick of air, breastfeeding a child, doing her eyeing, and trying to give readings at the end of the phone.
1:40:26So you don't know who it is at the end of the phone at any end of the day. so no i've always said no to that okay i won't have my name attached to that yeah at all yeah so look i'm not saying that every single person that does that is fake not real psychic i don't know yeah but the fact that i don't know yeah i would it's enough to put you up yeah and it'd be damaging for your career as well do it and final one how do you back because you're obviously a nice guy you've got a good heart thank you but how do you how do you then balance it because obviously you have to make your money right and you have this ability so people need to come and watch you but how do you balance the morality of people who are coming to with their money and whatever yeah so this is why i don't give private readings right the reason being um for me when i got big and what have you and you know people you know would come into the theaters and celebs and everything and i got more of a presence online and people got to know about me um i was told right you've now got to start charging a premium for people to come and see you for a private reading you know and that's when i have a problem with that no i don't feel comfortable with that i don't and i very quickly was like no i'm going to stop doing that i don't want to do that so for me you know 20 30 pound a ticket you know when it goes out there and whatever and bearing in mind you know i don't get all of that yeah it goes to whatever yeah to me that's affordable for people to to come and have have that you know to come and do it um so even if you're not you know lucky enough to have a message that evening 30 pound you're you're coming out you're doing that you're you're seeing it you're experiencing it a lot of people will say well i still got the comfort even though i didn't get myself i saw norah down the road that you know um she's my neighbor and everything you said to her i know was true and oh yeah you know don't know how you got that but you have that sense oh there's got to be something out there because that happened and this happened and i know her and you got all that right they get it from there and for me a ticket is more affordable than doing that and and having all of those private readings and whatever so i don't i don't do it for for that and i used to you know i used to do it all the time but i i don't yeah for that reason because i wouldn't i wouldn't be wanting to not on your moral it's not i've always i've always done it to help people and my evenings are about that and that's why you know i'm very sort of open about if you don't believe you don't believe i'm not about that i'm just here to give people a good evening using what i do to uplift them to have a laugh we're all in it together and if people come and say you know what i don't believe but you know what i had a great night i had a great night i did enjoy it you're funny you did help people i could see that you know that the relief of them then great isn't that wonderful you know what i mean um you know i do what i do i showcase what i do i see what i see i feel what i feel and you know It's not going to be for everybody.
1:43:12There's always going to be sceptics. There's always going to be people that believe. That's all I can say about it. All I want to do is help people. And, you know, anything other than that, I'm not interested in. There you go. I think you've summed it up nicely, mate. Thank you. During this interview, no spirits in this room or you've just been shut off? I've been so involved in you two, seriously, talking to you. Yeah. And all your great, wonderful questions. And it's lovely because sometimes interviews can be quite repetitive, you know, and whatever. and I love the fact that you've asked questions that people may not have wanted to ask me before.

Happy Hour has always been about hosting guests from all walks of life, from celebrities to internet personalities to people with fascinating careers. So when psychic medium Stuart Michael’s team reached out to ask if we’d host him, we couldn’t say no.
In this episode, Stuart shares the story of how he discovered his apparent ability to communicate with spirits at just five years old, and how a set of Woolworths tarot cards kickstarted his career. We explore some of the biggest questions people have about the spirit world: Do spirits attend their own funerals? What do they look like? Can you switch your psychic abilities off?
Stuart also opens up about communicating with dead celebrities, dealing with sceptics, and what happens when no spirits are willing to come through during a live performance. Plus, we discuss the ethics of mediumship, the morality of charging for readings, and his views on Derren Brown, Clinton Baptiste, and the growing industry of expensive phone readings.
