In short

Episode topic: The hosts trade stories and then debate “bucket list” items—both what they want to do before they die and what they absolutely don’t. They also discuss charity challenges, festival mishaps, and risk vs reward (especially around skiing and other extreme activities).

Guests

No formal guests. Main speakers are Jack Maate, Stevie White, and Robbie (plus recurring references to friends like Stump Egg, Kelly Shirley, and festival personalities such as TPD).

Key claims

  • Stevie and others argue against “bucket list” clichés; they prefer specific, personal goals.
  • Mountains are a “never really scratched the itch” item for Jack; Stevie dislikes skiing risk despite enjoying it.
  • Everest is avoided due to danger and the “dead bodies” reality; skiing deaths are framed as rare.
  • Stevie’s Snowdon night climb is for food poverty via Trussell Trust.

Notable examples

  • Kendall festival: “vampire” couple biting/licking blood; an “aura farming” fan on stage.
  • A rude shuttle/minibus incident involving “artists first.”
  • Bucket list picks: TV quiz contestant (The Chase/Bullseye), trying a mind-altering drug only if terminally ill (ayahuasca rejected), and improving guitar (acoustic).

0:11Jack Maate's Happy Hour. Hello guys, welcome back to Jack Maate's Happy Hour podcast. The Knox is back, baby. Just coughed there. Great, great start. Yeah, like I was about to do a speech on the Ironback. We didn't continue for a while, although episodes go out sporadically, so the listeners will be used to you. Yeah, and also we just recorded one a minute ago that's looking out at the future, but for some reason we're just doing it this way around. We're the least professional podcast in the world. So I've, yeah, it does feel like, well, it's not like, oh, I haven't seen you guys recently because I've just spent an hour with you doing loads of jokes and stuff.

0:43Talking of jokes. Oh, Stevie's here, apparently. Talking of jokes. Stevie's here, yeah. I wrote one liner last night before I went to sleep. Oh, cool. Want to hear it? Yeah. Well, so you've seen my notes app. Yeah. I've done this one before on the pod. how many people does it make how many people does it take to make a convent? None I've done that one before I like that I think that's pretty good yeah thank you I've got it's written here I'll read as it's written Uber support don't know what that means but that's on there that's one of my ones that I write in the night the company Uber? I don't get it I don't know what that means it just says Uber support?

1:23yeah maybe you were trying to Google but here's one i wrote last night during my last trip to london i had five guys whilst i was in seven sisters weirdest gangbang ever no okay i'll delete it did a little bit of that about stevie's mom on tour she had went out for dinner with stevie's mom um she had five guys and then we went to restaurants and like that yeah which now we don't do jokes like that but that was a different Do you not like that? It's obvious. Thanks, Mr. Comedy over here. Well, we were driving in the car yesterday and Jack said a similar line, but he actually said something along the lines of, I had five guys and seven sisters.

2:05I don't know why I spent so much time focusing on the guys. That's funnier. Yeah. Yeah, isn't it? It's a weak start. It's a weak start. It's a Monday. Let's pick people up. Can I lift the mood slightly? with an Arlo story. No, no. I'm going to tell you because I'm picked at Arlo's school holidays. Arlo's doing a week of ski camp at Norfolk. Snow Sports Club, the dry ski slope there. Rate it. So really, the first day he went there, went to pick him up afterwards. So that was it, Arlo. And he said, nine out of ten. Well, good. That's really good. I said, were you chatting to other people? And he said, yeah, I guess, I made ten friends and five enemies.

2:47I was like, oh, right. I was like, I mean, it's good that you've made more friends than enemies it's good you made 10 friends that's quite a lot in one day five's quite a lot of enemies to make in one day that's superb it is superb but like i can't work out whether i'm pleased with this outcome did you ask what made them enemies no not the time it's best not to ask sort of thing it's just just just go okay cool so i'll find out more with i'll find out tonight when i get home whether he's made any more enemies that's a phenomenal line that he is every now and then he comes out with a gem doesn't he does most days yeah most days actually he's getting well into football isn't he oh he's so into it yeah when i've been out in um in italy on holiday with um mark the sexy lawyer and his family and our family and arlo and i when we're in churin nipped off to eventos stadium to the stadium tour did you did the um museum as well that's cool yeah arlo arlo liked it i mean to be honest for me once you've seen one mix zone you've seen all the mix zones right there's not that much exciting stuff inside a modern stadium i don't think i mean more interesting like inside luton stadium one of the older ones sort of thing but um it was interesting i was like going to new ground what do you mean by mix zones the bit in the the bit where the journalists and the players go together there's a mix zone in every stadium where they're where the players can do the interviews with uh with the journalists after the game where they stand in front of like the advertising boards and stuff like that.

4:14Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, yeah. Okay. What would you rate the ground out of 10? Smaller, I thought. It's only at 41 ,000. Oh, that is smaller than you think. Yeah. Yeah, nice stadium. What's it called? The museum's quite good. It's got, it's Allianz something, it's a sponsorship thing. I think it was just called Univenta Stadium. I love that he's getting into football. He's really into it, yeah. Is he a big City fan, is he? Yeah, he supports City and Norwich. Right. Bev's a Man City fan, which is the reasoning. Yeah. Something there. he does say if Norwich went up I'd support Man City but I think as he gets older I think it's probably going to go the other way yeah when he starts going to the football with his mates and stuff yeah I think so have you got season tickets for this season yeah yeah just get the same ones the same seats nice absolutely bad news for Arlo and West Ham playing you give me the ticket it's mad that you do that for me yeah yeah I'll tell you what mine you have is why don't you just let Jack take them if you want to it's quite a good fun going I don't know how to beat round kids that sounds so wrong doesn't it I don't know what you'd do buying a hot dog that's the main reason Otto's there is for the food Otto wants the sausage roll he wants a bov roll that'll keep him happy good sausage rolls there as well archers good pies at the ground now is there willie's pies oh are taking over really up the pie game I love a pie you would love the the selection on offer there yeah and it's like unusual it's not just your basics it's some unusual ones what are we talking well you're talking stuff like your I'm going to get this wrong but like your your sag potatoes sort of like sagaloo type so you know you're some unusual pies or something yeah so yeah so good good I like it pies and all that stuff you've been up too much mate well we just did our second festival of the season didn't we Kendall calling yeah big up Kendall calling you've been to download you've been away a lot you two this season a lot we have a lot but we've just done Kendall again fourth year in a row going to Kendall Yeah.

6:12It's impressive. It is. I absolutely love it there. I love the Woodlands. It's so cool. So the Woodlands is where we did, where Alfie sang, Ariane sang. That's where we did a silent disco. Biggest crowd we've ever seen. It was absolutely insane for our silent disco. I don't think they were there for us. They just wanted to be at the silent disco. But it was so, so fun. I just think Kendall's good vibes. It's really good. It is. It is. It's more of a family festival. I did see something quite weird at Kendall though. Did you? during the libertines was it Pete Dockett I was we randomly got separated at the libertines a little bit didn't we so I was probably about 15 metres ahead of you to the right and there was this like couple maybe 5 metres in front of us oh yeah I remember this and they were kissing and then she pulled away and he just had blood all down his face here and when they were kissing she bit him so hard that she cut his lip open and there was blood everywhere.

7:10And we're thinking, fucking hell, does she know that she's just done that? And we're watching it. It's hard not to know. He's covered in it. But they're so hammered, she wipes it with her thumb and then licks it all off her thumb like this weird vampire couple. What's a wink, Robbie? You into it? No, I'm going to stay. Go on. And then we're watching it thinking, okay, this is a bit unusual. And then the music's on, they're singing along to it and stuff. And then we look back over and her face and arm is just covered in all the blood from his lip. They're vampires, I think. Kinky, kinky vampires.

7:46I did not know what was going on at all. I thought that was a little bit unusual, but they look like they're at a great time. It's quite sexy. Yeah. You're both into it. I genuinely would not do that, but I like that they're embracing... What would you do if you had a cut and Fee just went, oh, you've got a cut there? I'd go, what the fuck are you doing, you weirdo? Give me my blood back. she did she went one of our first dates uh not first it's gonna lead to she bit my lip and smeared blood over her face it weren't one of our first dates but within the first few months we went to paris for her birthday and we went up the eiffel tower and when we were queuing to go up the eiffel tower had a bit of dry skin on my lip she said oh you've got a bit of dry skin on your lip and she pulled it and she ripped it oh no and it would not stop bleeding and like we've got loads of like cute couple photos at the top of the eiffel tower whereas i look like the joker because I've got red smudge on my fucking mouth.

8:39You like the joker though, so. Yeah, sure, yeah. But you're not into that. Weren't as sexy as licking blood off your boyfriend's face at the Libertunes. During, quick one, during our silent disco, you wouldn't have heard it because obviously we've got separate headphones on playing different music, but there were two people right in front of me that had just got engaged. Oh, okay. So I like said over the mic to get everyone to cheer. I think that they're called, I want to say Charlie and Charlotte. They had the same name. it was like Charlie and Charlotte. Yeah, sounds like that. They just got engaged.

9:10I don't know if it was just before. I hope it was before. I hope they didn't do it at the Happy Hour Live disco. Well, people proposed it around cheap. It's cool for us, but... Oh, yeah. Yeah, we actually had that happen during confessions. Yeah, fair enough. It was quite cool that they're just there going like... Yeah. Engaged. That was quite a cool thing. I've got... I'm going to absolutely kill this fella if he's listening. Right, can we talk about him, Stevie? What? Guy on stage. Is that aura farming? it's absolutely going to destroy this guy's confidence right we're up there we're doing our thing yeah we're having a boogie there's this guy on stage with us who is he pretty much the whole time where'd he come from i think i thought at fair he was a nice guy but he was on stage with us the whole time i thought he was a staff member so i was going a bit odd that one of the staff members just like dancing he's putting his arms around us we were dancing we're embracing him the whole time i was like who who is this turns out he was just he's a happy listener that had a press band so we just went around the back and got on stage but the reason i bring this because he was a nice guy there's some great photos of him on stage all of our photos we've just got him in there right but well i've got a shout out to rob kellis right because he he texts me the next time and he will not mind me saying this because you'll find out why but he he texts me and went who the fuck was that guy just aura farming off you all night and he met him the next day because he sent me a voice note he said i've just met that guy he's working behind the bar i said what'd you do he said i went up to him said what the fuck were you playing that just going up on stage all the time so he told he told him and apparently the guy was a bit embarrassed but what's quite funny as rob came up will we now won't he yeah rob came up to me the next day and was like uh i'm sorry for going up on stage.

10:57I thought, why are you apologising, mate? You're fine. Rob, because Rob came up, but he only came up for like 30 seconds and just gave us a cuddle and said like, well done. And then went... After we were talking to him loads in the crowd as well. We were making it aware that we knew TPD was there. I love them guys. They're great. They're great. I watch their videos now. I mean, I've always dabbled, but I'm actively going to watch them now. It was so good. That's such a lovely guy. Yeah, they are, yeah. Yeah, I absolutely love Kendall. I loved it so much. One thing I didn't like... Did you... Sorry, we can't bring it up.

11:25we've got a reminder of one of the time stevie asked rob if he's getting any festivals

11:36still one of the best moments of my entire life we're in there we're in york we're in oh no we're in leeds we're in leeds music hall i think it was oh i want to happy outdoors chatting in the the guys we met before you know know them something stevie's leaning against the way and we were we were having our own individual conversations not together we're all having three separate conversations we can hear each other in the room of that and we both just hear stevie say to rob kellis who has been on a festival youtube channel that makes exclusively festival content for at least 10 years he said to him are you going to any festivals this year and both of us we didn't look at them we just locked eyes at each other going did you fucking say that I went what what mate I was asking more will they be at any festivals we're also going to that's like asking Simon Wilson if he's got any trips no it's not it's like will you go travelling it's not even have you got any trips it's not have you booked the festivals it's are you going to go travelling at any point in the next year Simon oh asking Gary he eats of his munchies you're gonna eat anything brilliant oh that is top five stevie moments ever top one for me yeah one thing i didn't like at kendall is the person that you had a little mini interaction with on the last day when we just wanted to get the shuttle back down to our car what the rude woman yeah but i did get to sort of flex a little bit though we're waiting for the minibus to the car park and there's a big queue for the minibus and this is like the minibus for like artists, staff, press, stuff like that.

13:21And we're there early. We're waiting for this bus, probably waiting about 20 minutes. And then this lady comes out. She's got loads of stuff. And she just goes right in front of us where the bus is. And I'm like, that's a bit fucking annoying. But by this time, the queue had accumulated quite a lot of people. But she goes right in front of us. Then a band comes out and go in front of us. And I'm like, I don't think we're going to get on this bus now. We've been here. We're the first ones here. So anyway, we're trying to all get onto the bus. And then I get to the back of the bus first to put my stuff on because I'm like, I'm going to beat her to this because we're British.

13:55There's a system to queue in, isn't there? And she said, excuse me, stop me. She went, you've got to let the artist on first. Guess what band I had? I asked. Said, I am, mate. She didn't like that. She didn't really reply. But it's mental that she even thought like, excuse me, why are you getting on before me? I know. I mean, I felt a bit sluggy because we'd just press play on a MacBook and stand there for two hours. We'd also been waiting for that bus for 20 minutes. True. And then get this, she's with her partner. So they both work, they were staff, right? So she's with this bloke, he's a 50-year-old bloke, and he's got this trolley full of stuff that he's trying to put in the back of the minivan.

14:36But instead of taking it all out and arranging it, he's trying to just put the whole trolley in there. And he's lifting it and he goes, can someone help, please? Like that. And I was like, all right, a bit mad, but I'm there, right? So I was like, yep. So I grab it, lift it up. It's heavy. And we're trying to really get these wheels over the van, put it in. It must have taken me two and a half minutes. Okay. Right? Quite a long time. Yeah. In the context of what I'm doing, right? Put it in. I'm sweating. We get it in. Things are falling out. Put it back. Did not even say thank you. Can you imagine how angry I was?

15:08I think they're cunts. Nothing you tell me. Only people suggest they're not cunts. Did not even say thank you in the boiling hot heat. and I didn't say anything obviously because I turn into Alfie Andrew at the first sign of confrontation. No, you're not that bad. No, thank you. That means a world. Talking of Stevie and TPD, what are some of the best Stevie White moments? Because that's up there. I think him getting absolutely hammered on the stage at Kendall when we hadn't planned anything. Yeah. You know what, recent one, Super Hooch. Yeah. Super Hooch is great. The fact that just came from nowhere, where he just smashed beers for no reason in the middle of the day.

15:47Drink, download. Drink does a lot, doesn't it? Yeah. Getting dog hair on fire, Taz. He's on a good run of form at the minute. Yeah. I just need to drink more, is what we're all saying. I'm better when I drink. Yeah. Yeah, you've had some bellish. I'm sober today, sorry. Yeah, you're fucking boring the life out of everyone on a Monday. Talking about booze, I went to the London Craft Beer Festival with Stump Egg. and um and we i love niva i think she's so funny and we it was just after the world cup had finished and so we were talking about um we were talking about the england game and we'd we'd in the pub beforehand and we're chatting about that and we had sort of similar views on it that which i always like when i've got similar views from nukes it means i'm right yeah about football that sort of thing and it was it was not necessarily the sort of matching the narrative of everyone else sort of thing.

16:39We got to, we were in there chatting and some guys came up and said, they're chatting to us, got photos and all this sort of stuff like that. And they're doing it and going, yeah, yeah, too cool. What a disgrace that was getting so defensive and all this sort of stuff like that. And just nodding and all that. And as I walked away she just turned around and she said, sometimes it's easier to just let people say things rather than tell them why they're wrong. Is she an England fan then or is it more Italy? I think it's both, I think. Is it? Yeah. What else have you been up to before we get into the bulk of today's bones?

17:13Bulk of bones? I have... How are you losing yourself? I'm climbing Mount Snowden in a couple of weeks. Oh, yeah? For charity. Wow, what charity? Should have mentioned that. Trussell Trust. Which does? Food poverty. So food banks and stuff like that. Nice. And stuff like that. I'll put a link. Me and Kelly Shirley. I think Kelly got involved. Kelly used to be in EastEnders. She was in the office. It was Carly Wicksney's enders. And yeah, so we're doing a night climb of Snowdon. I'm going to film it for a video. You have to do training for that. I've been, the thing is I'm doing half marathon training anyway, so I figure it's kind of that.

17:48Have you done Snowdon before? No, I've never done any mountain things. It's all right. Yeah. But when I did it, the weather was horrific. What, rainy? It was fine at the bottom, then it started raining loads, and then you were getting like 80 mile an hour winds. Wow. And it was just so hard to do. But it's not, it's the smallest of the big boys, three big boys in the UK. I think it's maybe four to five hours up and down. Do you night time? I assume you've got someone taking you up. Yeah. So do you at night and then we should get to the idea is to get to the top for when sun rises and all that sort of thing.

18:17Are you going to like UEA to like practice on the rock climbing? Wall climbing? You don't need to rock climb as well. No, I might go down gym and do Stairmaster or something like that. Yeah, that's good. These mountains that you climb in England they're just you just walk up hills. It's not you don't need to climb. You don't use your hands at any point. there was one bit on snow that you kind of had to push up but you're not it's not like when you see these people climbing cliff faces right they're just you just loop around like that until you get to the top this is actually going to tie into the the bulk of today's episode because what we're going to do today is we're going to talk about our bucket list everyone's aware of the concept of a bucket list things you want to tick off and complete before you die i think what you're doing is great well stevie doesn't because he's just slagged it off about two minutes like what a piece of piss it was.

19:01So he doesn't like charity, does he? No, I didn't say it was a piece of piss. I did the three peaks in 24 hours. So that was the last one I did and it's the easiest of the three. Has to win, has to win charity. I'm trying to help kids who haven't got any food. He's like, no, no, that good. I did it for comic relief. So I did also do it for charity. Did you wear a red nose while you're going up there? I wore a t-shirt that had the thing on it. I've done a comic relief thing before. What'd you do? Visited every place in London in a day that's on the Monopoly board. It's rogue. It was long, actually.

19:32Even for charity? It was long. Yeah. Are these things really for charity? Do you raise money for charity? Yeah, but or is it more just... Did you get paid for it? No, I didn't get paid. Are you getting paid for it? Of course not. Yes, it's for charity. Yeah, but I mean, I, from my personal point of view, just wanted to do something fun. Do you know how much I don't like leaving the house? What the fuck am I going to do that? The reason this ties into today's episode is we're going to talk through our top five things that we want to tick off in the back of this. We're also going to talk about typical things people have on their bucket list that we would never want to do, that wouldn't interest us.

20:05And mountains are one of mine. Mountains are something that never really scratched an itch for me. Yeah, don't we do Everest? Fuck that. No, I saw a guy on TikTok the other day talking about that, about how it is the biggest, the weirdest thing that we still do. Because apparently his idea was, his theory is that in the 80s, or like 60s whenever, I don't know, there was only a select amount of people that would do it and they would do so much training and they would do it and the first few people to do it would become famous off the back of it but now rich people can just pay climbers to drag them up the mountain essentially apparently costs thousands to go as well like so much money to go i yeah everest no interest at all for me i don't and the danger isn't worth it yeah it's also like i think there's six or seven fatalities on the mountain a year but because there are so many dead bodies i'm retrieved on everest you are just stepping over dead bodies you just walk past them yeah yeah no and i get that that that's i'd be the same never want to do everest but i do like i loved doing like ben nevis and stuff yeah ben nevis one of the coolest things i think ever right it's really nice weather but robbie's little shit one is crap yeah snowden was smaller that's a molehill mate yeah i'll probably just yeah i'll just take kid from kids mouths i like snowden but it just after doing Ben Nevis I didn't like it as much Ben Nevis is cool because it's really nice sunny weather during the day also Ben Nevis Scotland you should be loving it I do love it I'm not slagging off Ben Nevis I'm just trying to raise money for some fucking kids mate I'm just trying to give food to kids sponsor me put the link in the description I will put the link absolutely lovely weather and then near the top it was just all snow so it was like a sudden change as well and it was absolutely gorgeous that's what you want from a mountain though I don't want a sunny mountain no that's what was weird when we went to snow bombing sunny sunny but it was sunny I quite like it.

21:57Snowboarding, it was too hot because the snow has gone shit. Yeah, warm. Isn't that perfect though where it's like snow and warm? Don't want warm snow. Do you want to come skiing this year? I know we say this all the time. I don't enjoy it. Well, don't then. Can I say something? Don't go. I'd rather you didn't. Can I say in my list of things I'd never want to do, skiing. Right. Shall we just get on with it rather than just giving it all away and just talking about the future? Yeah. All right. Well, we can kick it off. We're all picking one thing we don't want to do. Mine's mountains. Yours is skiing.

22:24I'll say skiing. probably gardening next probably being old wearing shit clothes going pub with Stump Egg hanging out with Welsh girls Robbie's spoken before about risk versus reward for things, you said you'd never want to skydive which I imagine you might have on your list, but because you said if it was to go wrong just as you're hitting the ground you'd be going, why the fuck am I doing this I feel that about, I've seen so many horror stories of skiing you can think of countless famous people i think liam neeson's wife was a skiing accident like you've got these things i'm not being capable i know you could learn and get better at it but i don't care enough to risk even an injury let alone death or you get more injuries playing football per minute than you do skiing haven't played football in every year am i right in saying that football you could break your leg skiing you could die very you know not many people die skiing it's very rare This episode is brought to you by Thorpe Park.

23:28Now, of course, there are a lot of options when it comes to a good day out. But how many of these places actually deliver? Yeah, there's plenty of fads, but there's one place that always delivers. Thorpe Park. Yeah, I mean, they've got everything. Loaded hot dogs. World-class roller coasters. Oh, banging donuts. Incredible atmosphere. I think last time I went, I even got a curry. Why do you keep talking about food when we're trying to talk about the ultimate day out with your mates? What? You ain't got any mates? Well, it's also like the ultimate day out with a family of older kids. You actually do love Fort Park, don't you?

24:03You go every year for your birthday. It's a birthday tradition, and at the moment of filming this, I'm going tomorrow. Sometimes these ads just fit perfectly, don't they? I am absolutely buzzing. I can't wait to go on Saw. I can't wait to go on Stealth. I love the rides with a bit of a drop. There's loads of other stuff going on too, like entertainment and staycations at the shark cabins. Plan your visit and book in advance at fortpark.com for the best pricing and availability. Rides and attractions are subject to availability, weather, operational changes and height restrictions. It's weird though because it's going on to another thing we'll talk about is helicopters, right?

24:42It's widely documented that a lot of rich celebrities died in helicopters. There's a lot of people that have died skiing. I don't think that many people generally do die. I think there's a couple of high-profile ones. Right. Well, what? Schumacher is the big one. Well, he didn't die. No, but he's not living, is he? He's not great. No. He's not at his peak. So there's really only one person that we know of who's died skiing. Who's that? Liam Neeson's wife. There are occasionally people die, but it's very rare. I've got the stats on it. most people don't die one death per one million skier snowboarder visitors right yeah roughly 30 to 50 deaths per year in united states fucking hell that's high well just in the us just in the us 30 to 50 in a year i don't think it's that america's massive it's seven die on everest every year and that's one mountain do we know that fact right the everest one it just says uh yeah for skiing snowboarding at managed resorts deaths are quite rare yeah It's just a guess.

25:49What about injuries? Oh, there'll be loads. That's what I'm saying. I don't want to... I just don't have enough... As I say, you've got more chance of getting injured playing football than you have skiing. Yeah, but how's that comparable? Like, so many more people are playing football, so the likelihood is going to be higher. You've got more chance of crashing your car than you have dying in an aeroplane. No, but per minute of football, as in, so on average, if you did 10 hours of football or 10 hours of skiing, you'd have more chance of getting injured play football. Whereas 200 to 300 people die a year.

26:24No, sorry, 70 to 100 people die a year in the US from bees. From bees? So bees are more dangerous than skiing. Why have you randomly searched that? Thank you, Jack, for backing up skiing. Yeah, I know. I'm just trying to give some context behind it. I get it. It's just, for me, I just... Risk versus reward. I hope you go skiing once and get stung to death by bees. I just don't think I've been stung by a while yeah that was one of the best moments for Stevie I don't think I'd get enough from it personally to warrant risking it did you not enjoy it when you went to there were elements I did enjoy it I had a great time but like I like like I love I'm a little bitch and the boots I felt claustrophobic boots are great because you have to lock yourself into them and so boarding you might prefer then maybe do you have to wear boots you wear softer boots they're more comfortable much better Oh, probably then, yeah.

27:18I love the bit when you're going down, which is the fun bit, but then the manoeuvring around, the walking, takes a lot of energy, doesn't it? Mind you, I was fat when we went, so I might be all right now. Yeah, you don't. Obviously, the better you get it, the less walking you do, really. If I was your level, I'd love it. I'm against learning a new thing now, which sounds really close-minded, but I love the idea of getting into golf. I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to do it. I'm shit at darts and I play it all the time. So I don't have the energy to put it into golf. I'm not going to go skiing enough to get to a level where I'm going to enjoy it.

27:53A week, a year. You'd enjoy it in a week. So if I did a week's course and then I went back next year, I'd be just as good as I was a year ago. Pretty similar. Do we do some positive ones? Yeah, have we got a top five? Have you done a top five? Yeah, I've done a top five. Stevie briefed me on this. On Bucket List. Sorry, just quickly. Just quickly. Before we both said one we wouldn't do, Did Robbie say one he wouldn't do? Bungee jumping. Yeah, makes sense. I've got skydiving and bungee jumping. That is risk versus reward, isn't it? Yeah. Just like, oh, I'll just make it feel like I'm going to hit the ground and then get a really horrible jerk.

28:25Yeah, I imagine the injury rates on that is high. Yeah, can't feel enjoyable. Okay, let's do some positivity. So I've got the top five, but I've got two honourable mentions. Can we just skim over the honourable mentions quickly? If you'd like to, yeah. A visit space is one. Okay. I think I've done a 180 on this. When you say visit space, there's very many different versions. Is this the one that you want to do? Yeah, I don't think I ever would. Are you talking Katy Perry visit space or are you talking Neil Armstrong visit space? I'd do a Perry. You'd Perry it? Yeah, I'd Perry it. I don't know if you...

28:57Just get me out of the atmosphere a bit. Float about. Yeah. You want to have a float? I want to have a float about. A little float about. I want to see the earth from somewhere. Yeah, that would be cool. Yeah. So that's an honourable mention. I'd have a mountain. Because I don't think I'm going to do it. Honourable mention. And then another honourable mention, which I don't think I'll ever do, is I love the idea of owning a pub. Why do you want to own a pub? I don't want to work in the pub. I just want to own a pub so I can go to the pub. You can just go to a pub. I think it would be good to start like a YouTube pub.

29:29Yeah. Right. We do it. Surely we could... We can work with... Someone can work with us. Yeah. We can all co-own a pub. Yeah. And have a pub. I'd whack some Bunton. What does that mean? Wax a bit of peas in. I haven't got any peas, but if I had peas, I'd put it in. Let's all buy a pub. Call it happy hour. Bang. That'd fucking bang. Nah, that's calling it happy hour. Yeah. That's a pub name, mate. No, no, it's a pub. Everyone would always expect to have one drink. Call it something. We need to be overpriced. Call it the Robbie's Tash. Robbie's Tash is a good name. The Naughty Neighbour. annoyingly quite a good name the problem is I think there is there are guidelines that the government will only let you have a you can't just call your pub sick pub you can we went to one yesterday called plimsoll yeah but there's there's guides and regulations based on what you can no but your neighbour would be allowed wouldn't it if you don't tell them why in the UK if I was to buy a pub can I legally just call it anything I want Like, could I call it the world's greatest pub?

30:43Yes, broadly, you have a lot of freedom for what you call a pub in the UK. And something like the world's greatest pub would very likely be possible. Even your best mate's mugged you off. Yeah, fair enough. Fair enough. Fair enough. So yeah, they're my honourable mentions. But you want to own a pub, you just want to go to a pub, Jack. Yeah, I want to. You just said you don't want to do any work in it, you just want to be able to go to it. All right. Go to a pub. Yeah, imagine the difference in this. Go to a pub, right? Drink with your mates, fine. We've all done it a million times. Or go in. fancy a lock-in boys no problem lock the doors fee jukebox on darts you make it yours you make it yours hello i'm undercover i've been waiting for this moment did you think i was weirdly old to be on this podcast you are legally i'm here you are legally yeah i know this to be fact you are legally allowed to have a lock-in but people are not allowed to purchase drinks if you let me finish i'm an undercover accountant who's here to inform you you've gone bankrupt because you've been doing lock-ins every night and now we're skinned yeah fair enough yeah well i'm not doing the maths on it and stuff i don't know if it'll be a profitable business but i don't want to own the pub with you anymore why because i don't know if it's gonna be a profitable business it's gonna be a profitable business if you're talking about peas you've you're gonna have lock-ins every night.

31:59Not every night, just once a week. I'm out. You get to choose what's on tap. You get to choose what food you do. Scampi fries. I'm still out. All right, I'll win you back by the end of the set. I think you'd get just as much enjoyment going to another pub. Maybe just find a pub that does lock-ins. Okay, let's do our top five. I'm going to pub tomorrow. Yeah. I'm going to pub with George Greenaway, who's the landlord of the Tamworth Tap, right, which is the best pub. It's the only type of pub to have won three times the Canberra Best Pub Award. So it's like in landlord pub times, I'm going to go around a pub corner and other pubs.

32:37That's like me walking into football games with Messi. Yeah, he's got three Ballon d 'Ors. I'm going to go up to Phil for the murderers. Be like, all right, mate. Nice pub you've got here. I've got the best guy at your job ever. Yeah, yeah. I like that. I'm going to mug every landlord off. He's got the hat trick. He's got the hat trick, yeah. The hat trick ball. That's impressive. Yeah. It is. And he's only been going like 10 years or something. A lot of 15 years. Huge competition as well, isn't it? Like so many pups. Phil might get gel. Well gel. I'm going to make him jealous. I'm going to properly cuck him.

33:03I feel sorry for Phil already. Don't. He's always horrible to us. No, he's a good lad. I know, but he makes some jokes. He does make some dicks. Has little pops as. Yeah. Let's, yeah, should we do one each? Yeah, in at number five for our top five things we want to do. I've not put mine in any particular order. Me neither. But I'll go for one on here that has only come up recently for me, but I just really I've just got this little thing inside me that I think I just love the idea of it since we've spoken about it Is it my penis? No You've got this little thing inside you that you love the idea of just to reiterate the joke Thank you for clearing that I really just think it would be fun and stupid to be a contestant on a TV show and I don't mean these That's such a Stevie thing No, no That's so Stevie I don't mean these celebrity ones No, I know exactly what you mean, mate What does he mean?

33:50He means he wants to be on The Chase or something like that Yeah, not a quiz show or anything I don't care Like any I just think it'd be fun just Tipping Point would be funny if you'd go to the arcade two pee machines yeah but then is that Moleherney does that? do you know the only person I know who's been on a quiz show Ben Shepard do you know the only person I know who's been on a quiz show like this Neil Smythe that's the type of person Neil Smythe and Steve I like Neil Smythe I like Neil Smythe too but you know what I mean don't you good now you look us both you know what I mean what attention see Kim just you know Neil I just like the I think the idea of it It'd be a fun experience and something not many people do.

34:28Obviously, a lot of people apply and stuff, but I just think it'd be a fun little thing to do. I applied for The Chase once when I was younger. Neil was on it. Was he? Yeah, he was on one of the first episodes. Did he win much? I don't know what he did. I can't remember. Did he beat The Chaser? I don't know, but it was literally like in the first week of The Chase or something. Really? Yeah, because we didn't know what he was. He was on this new show called The Chase. What, does he just go on and apply on websites and stuff? I think so, yeah. I don't know if he's done other ones or what. I think it was on Blockbusters because he was a kid or something.

34:51Oh, wow. Yeah. Bullseye would be good to do. Yeah, Bullseye. I just think it'd be... I happily just do it once, but I just think it'd be quite funny just to see, and to be able to see it all from the inside would be quite a cool little thing. Have I told... I hate when I do this, because I say something, and then you don't remember, and then everyone on the Reddit goes, fuck, have you told this? Yeah, what is it? Have I told you the story that Jim Bowen told us about Bullseye? Go on. Fuck it. Say it again. Okay, right. Sorry. Or maybe for the first time. Yeah. Maybe for the first time. So I was at Edinburgh Fringe, and I interviewed Jim Bowen years ago, before he died, obviously.

35:25Yeah. So I would have to be shit. He's dead. And I was asking for one of his best stories about Bullseye, and he was telling us, he's saying, and he's such a great storyteller. You know when you get one of those old school pros. You can tell that, yeah. You can just rouse, exhibit you exactly what you want, and go, all right, that's cool. Off you go. He was talking about this quiz. He said, this guy came on Bullseye, and he was a darts player and a non-darts player, wasn't it? They had two of them. Yeah. And he was the darts player. He was in a wheelchair, real crowd favourite. Everyone loved him.

35:55He was really funny and all this sort of stuff. And it got towards the end where they had to throw and get a certain score or whatever like that. And the non-darts player went first, got a really good score. So all he had to do basically was hit the board to win the prize, whatever the prize was. Speedboat. So he's going there and the crowd are going, everyone's going crazy and then Jim just hears in his ear from the the director don't don't stop him don't let him throw don't let him throw so he stops and goes hang on a second hang on hang on he goes what is it so he goes up to the gallery he goes we've got a problem he goes like he's in a wheelchair and the prize it's like it's a sofa I've told you this haven't I I don't recognise it yeah go on you might have told me in the pub so he goes it's a sofa he's in a chair all the time you can't give him another chair like it's like a three piece suite whatever he goes what do you do he goes I know he goes we record two in a day the show in the afternoons are holiday we'll just swap the tapes over for that fine great so he goes okay sorry about that we have a technical problem we'll do it he goes okay you ready to throw he goes throws it treble 20 the crowd goes crazy he goes well let's see what you could have won and Jim Bowen just goes fucking skiing holiday

37:10so did he get it then he got the ski holiday yeah I don't know what happened yeah wow that's good yeah I do remember that yeah sorry everyone yeah I don't know if it's on the pod or not I don't remember it but right so yeah I'm going just be a contestant on any TV show mine we can keep this short because in theory this I'm only going to ever do this one if I get terminally ill but I want to try a mental drug I want to try a mental drug is it probably heroin if I get terminally ill I'll do it yeah should we do it together if we both if we both shouldn't take a terminally ill that would be unfortunate wouldn't it if you're both it's unfortunate for you mate just leave me something in the will you might as well kill yourself

37:52uh yeah i i i steve he's gonna die too next week he's nothing wrong with him it just there's no point yeah i i want to i i hope i never try it but i kind of want to try it so like that's my that's my fallback if everything goes wrong just fair enough i want to try it must be amazing it must be amazing. I don't, weirdly, on my list of things I don't want to do, I don't want to do ayahuasca. Nah. No, because that's like a mind-altering, isn't it? You don't want anything like that. I think there's a world, and do not take advice from me here, drug advice, please don't, but I think there's a world you can do heroin once and be fine.

38:31Yeah. You've got a lot, you've got a hope though, isn't you? It's a big gamble. Yeah, it is a massive fucking gamble, but I think there's a world in which you do ayahuasca and six months later you're still fucked. But I don't like it because they say like oh I did this and I realize I was unhappy in this and changed it all. I quite like my life. I don't want to just go I do what I ask it. Come back and go oh you don't want to live with your wife and kids anymore. Go what? No I like that. Exactly that. Exactly that. I am not beefing Joe Weller here. He's found Jesus. And he seems super happy and he seems free.

39:03And fair enough if that's how you feel that's what you believe and your life is richer for it brilliant right. I genuinely love my life. And I don't walk around now going, oh, I'm an atheist, I'm so fucking cool. But I love my life because I'm a firm believer this is the only life we have. So I'm trying to experience everything I can in this life and be good for the sake of being good because I'm not doing it to try and get into this next life. You've got a great life. You shouldn't do IASCA. I've got a great life. I shouldn't do IASCA. Stevie? Might give it a go. yeah no i just don't think it's worth the risk of if you do come out i know they're always like oh but now i can see out of my third eye and like life is so much better or whatever but oh yeah right yeah

39:56but like the fact that that and then they seem to like preach the idea that oh you you can't see properly you don't understand it it's like yeah but i like what i'm doing now like i don't the risk is way too high isn't it when will is banging on like going on like um guys like once you see him your life will be written like i think maybe that's aimed more at the people who aren't happy in their life yeah yeah yeah because because when i watch it and i i don't want that's so far removed from what the way i want to live and feel do you think that like these christians that will try and convert other people think that so even people like us who love our lives and we feel very fulfilled and we're lucky for that do you think that they think we'd have an even better life if we yeah yeah i think you think oh they don't know how good it is when you accept the life love of our lord jesus christ some of them will also think that life was fine before they found and they don't realize how much better it can get but for the most part you are that kind of situation is going to be more likely to be taken on by someone who's struggling and needs something more a lot of people find jesus in prison don't they what do you do

41:07what didn't he do i don't know what i mean i don't know the christmas where i convert people i'm just doing that but with skiing yeah i'm like yeah yeah you don't care if people don't no no i don't but i've i know how much richer your life will be if you accepted the life of our lord jesus snow yeah true i guess everyone has that little thing where they where they say like oh you like like bacon and that what you think everyone should try bacon like vegans like try bacon mate they probably have i don't think they started vegan most of them you've got skiing joe's got jesus i've got bacon you're not that passionate about bacon no but i couldn't imagine a world in which um i'm not eating every day yeah okay okay so jack's gonna try heroin what's what's on your list robbie i don't might seem to be the same now i look at them but um uh okay i'll go for one that's a bit different i like to get good at guitar oh okay that's good yeah because i've always played guitar a bit yeah never been good at guitar electric guitar bass guitar acoustic guitar not necessarily bass but electrical acoustic got an acoustic at the minute practicing taking action to become good a guitar i think acoustic's the acoustic is the sexiest guitar depends massively does it yeah if i was gonna go like shag a bloke i think you know women can just play guitar wouldn't you yeah yeah but when right no i don't know if it's a sexist or not right then it almost certainly will be the fact that you've said that means it almost certainly i'm excited for what he says No, like, when I think of getting swooned by a guitar player, I think male.

42:52That's not sexist, that's gay. Yeah, you're not sexist, you're homosexual. You're in the closet and you are homosexual, and you're fantasising about getting boned by slash. Let me put it this way, right? Sophie Lloyd, guitarist, incredible guitarist, right? Attractive woman. jason mraz right good guitarist or jack johnson good guitarist right attractive man when i i say when like i do this often but if i sit here and i think about who's gonna seduce me more sophie going being sick at this or jack johnson going eating banana yeah but is that the voice you're liking. I'm going for that. Yeah, because you're gay.

43:41That's nothing to do with the guitars. No, I think it's more like I think, alright, maybe it's less male-female and it's more electric guitar, acoustic guitar. Right, that's very different from the fantasies of you getting bummed by Jack Johnson you've just been talking about. I'm now switching it up. If Sophie had an acoustic guitar that's going to be the best option. So you just like acoustic guitar? Yeah. You don't care about the shredding. Sophie listens to the pod. What have I said that's wrong? You're just saying whether or not you have sex with her or Jack Johnson. I guess that. It's more about the guitars than the people.

44:21Right, okay. I don't know any other female guitar player. Okay, cool. I could not name you one. I think most, well, Taylor Swift, she plays acoustic. Oh, yeah, I know, but I didn't think about her.

44:38most bands with women in it yeah well to sum up i've i'm taking action on my bucket list there and i'm gonna get better at guitar yeah cool you found florence road quite cool they were the act we saw on the sunday they're all girl was that acoustic i like them they were they were good yeah yeah and and and attractive it's the it's the acoustic guitar it's the acoustic guitar i want to be i want i don't want to be um right i don't want to be like you know an electric guitar that's thrust upon that's lust whereas an acoustic guitar is swooned okay you want to be swooned you're an old fashioned guitar you want to be serenaded that's the better way of putting it rather than discussing I'm an old fashioned sexist homophobic guy positive game it wasn't sexist it wasn't sexist you're just game okay in at four Stevie hey it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile Well, now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for$15 a month is back.

45:43So I thought it would be fun if we made$15 bills. But it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch. Upfront payment of$45 for three months,$90 for six months, or$180 for 12-month plan required. $15 per month equivalent. Taxes and fees extra. Initial plan term only. Greater than 50 gigabytes may slow when network is busy. See terms. I want to turn on the Norwich Christmas lights. Yes. Oh, so do I. Can we make this a campaign? We have to make this happen. Please, right, let's do our appeal. Us three, fuck Alfie Suffolk.

46:15Fuck him. Yeah, Alfie can't be involved. Right. Right. What are we going to do? Do a bit each or what are we going to do? Yeah, let's do a little bit each. Robbie, that's your camera. This is ours, Stevie. Is this to Norwich City Council? Yeah, so, right, dear Norwich City Council, I'm Jack, this is Stevie and Robbie, and we host Jack Makes Happy Hour podcast, one of the biggest, most successful podcasts in the country. Here we are, just two Norwich born and bred guys and someone who has been fully converted to Norwich over the years. Studied at UEA. Fell in love with the city. Fell out of the city, moved back.

46:51And now is raising his family in Norwich. If anything, that's actually more impressive than just happened to be born here. You adopted it. You don't actually live in Norwich. We don't have a choice. Norwich season ticket as well. Norwich season ticket, yeah. But we did have a choice. I moved to Bristol for uni, stayed there for a few years. Norwich brought me back. We love Norwich. We have a request for you, Norwich City Council. Can you change the bin days? Sorry, I was going to do a few things. Can you make the recycling and the other ones at the same time rather than alternate weeks? But also, while we're here, can we do the Christmas lights?

47:25Can we please switch on the Norwich Christmas lights? It's been a dream of ours since we were wee kids. Also, I liked it when Exchange Street was pedestrianised, and I think you should go back to that. I think that might be Norfolk Council rather than Norwich. We understand that you often have people that are actors that are in the Norwich Panto do this, people like maybe Joe Trasini and stuff. Ask yourself this, Norwich. They're great. Are they from Norwich? Are those people from Norwich? I remember once you had Jamie Archer from The X Factor light them up. He's not from Norwich. I saw Diversity do it.

47:59Not from Norwich. I think if you'd policed the Exchange Street situation better, then it would have worked. The problem was people were not getting tickets for driving down it, and so it was just, there was no enforcement. We are well-known in the UK. We love our job. We love what we're doing. We're even more well-known in Norwich. Not everyone loves us. Not everyone loves us. We've performed at the theatre twice. We've performed at the theatre twice, sold out both times. Yes, Theatre Royal as well. It would benefit not only the businesses along the street, but also it would allow you to walk between Gerald's and the lanes a lot more simply.

48:35I think it just would be a really good move to go back to it. If you don't want to let us turn on the lights because we're not in the panto, we'll do the panto as well. We'll do the cameo in the panto. So this is our closing statement. Norwich City Council. Please let us turn on the lights and re-pedestrianise Exchange Street. Thank you. He's behind you. And that bin thing I said. Oh, no, he isn't. he was behind you wasn't he um right okay so that's christmas lights that's great one stevie and at number four we can keep this one really short and sweet skim over it i'm going to australia soon i my favorite animal is a koala and i want to see one in the wild i managed to see one in a zoo once when i was in perth i want to see one in a wild and i think there's a high chance i might actually get to do that so that's one of mine but don't touch it no i won't touch it i'll let him be do his thing mate let him do his thing robbie what's in at number four for you again i've not done them in order i'm just randomly doing them another great american road trip oh one of the best things i've ever done in my life was just before i met bev me and a couple of friends sally and speedo we went on a road trip from boston to new orleans three weeks over and it was the probably the best holiday i've ever had it was so fun i love america i love uh the options of americans i love all the little adventures you get and how different it is throughout the country i'd like it'll probably have to be once kids have left home and retired something just to do a great little road trip a few weeks just going across the states or or canada can i ask i was it i think you just answered it but what what would be the perfect amount of time for you a good few weeks i think would be good but you know what if i had to do a specific one specific road trip and what i'd like to do is the length of canada i think i'd like to start out like Newfoundland sort of Halifax that sort of way and that sort of side and just go all the way across to Vancouver but I like it in the winter and stopping at ski resorts on the way I was going to say if you would do two weeks in America I'm not just saying this I would go with you okay I don't know if you want to go with your family or not but I would I would love that I would 100 % go with you I love America I really what route would you have to do?

50:44what route would you have to do? I don't really know but whenever I've gone to a minute I've been fortunate enough to see a lot of different places but I've never I've done I've only ever driven from LA to Vegas yeah I would like to do a proper yeah one in at number two on uh and then my next one actually on mine is uh to to to visit like um Oklahoma Nashville like places places like that like where they do like the the music the blues music so maybe somewhere around there but I'd go tomorrow I can't do tomorrow I've got to pick up Arlo from skiing I'm out then I'll do another day though yeah I think it'd be great yeah I'd love a little road trip something like that yeah I'd love it nice I'm doing a mini road trip with Becky when we go out to Boston yes how far is the road trip about an hour and a half okay so less than us coming to the studio is that a road trip or is that a taxi journey well I'm going to drive I presume she can't drive I can't imagine Becky can drive can you?

51:47loads of people who live in London just can't can they she's not always living in London she's lived in London since shortly after she could drive she's been here years now what's three on yours instead of talking about whether Bambina Becky can drive just ask her she won't reply I've got one that isn't what it first sounds like i've got go on a cruise but i don't want to go on a cruise because i think you want to cruise i'd find it boring i like the idea of the the ones that take you from country to country and you get to spend a day in this place then you go on a cruise no no because like some cruises are to new york or whatever i don't want to do that don't want to do that but i like the idea of basically having a nice way of traveling but seeing as many countries as possible in two weeks I've always thought I'd hate a cruise, but I'm at the point where I would like to try one for a week and see if I hate it or not.

52:47Because I think there's lots of different types of cruises. There's ones that are, my mum goes on cruises, but there's all old people. Whereas there are like, I think like Virgin do like younger sort of cruise things. Maybe someone can give us a cruise. Give us a cruise, someone. I'll do a cruise. I think I'd hate it. I think I'd hate it. You do the two-week road trip with him. I'll do the cruise with him. Okay. There you go, three weeks of your life forward. Go skiing. Go skiing together without me. No. Yeah, I think I'd hate a cruise. There's always like, if one person gets ill on a cruise, you're all fucked.

53:16I don't think you are. I think it just has happened once or twice. Really? I think the amount of cruisers that are going compared to the three news stories you've ever heard about happening. Mate, you get fucking car sick in the back of a Tesla and you're going to be bobbing up and down the ocean all night in bed. It doesn't... The big ships don't bob like you think they do. They bob, mate. I've been on a ferry with you. I've had no issue. They bob, mate. They bob. Trust me. They bob. they do thank you robbie you haven't been on a big one uh again i touched on this i want to visit a lot of parts of america although a little spin-off to that is i really want to visit south america so robbie you went to mexico like yeah that's north america yeah north america yeah sorry to costa rica i mean brazil brazil i want to go to brazil loved brazil yeah i'm working there so i'm gonna have like three days brilliant yeah colombia like peru like all these i like the idea of south america i think that sounds cool coke in it what yeah oh because they do it they columbia have yeah they make it they make it with corn syrup as opposed to yeah yeah we make it with sugar would you go don't i've heard columbia have those cafes you know how like amsterdam you can just smoke weed and cafes i've heard in columbia there's places that you can just go do cocaine yeah yeah the coke the coke in columbia is so much better like they we have sugar in a lot of sugar in ours they they make it with corn syrup or something like that right I want to check that out.

54:36Yeah, I know. I've seen Narcos. No, to be fair... Would you do it? You said you'd do heroin. If you were in Colombia... Yeah. Would I do cocaine? Yeah. Yeah. Or Norwich. No, never in Norwich, but I think I would do it. I've got a friend, so my cousin knows this person. It's his friend. And she went to Colombia, said it was unbelievable. believable but they i actually said that i said did you go to one of the cocaine casts and she did right and she is i didn't know if it's like a myth no it's a genuine thing it's a genuine thing and is she and they they pick you so you you book your slot you book your time you want like four hours or whatever they pick you up from your hotel so that you don't drive and they drop you off again and you go in and they give you a tray with like drugs on it and a drink and you can pick on the menu what strength you want and stuff like that and she is i swear to god the most straight-edge person you will ever see but because she loves traveling she'll like try things and she did it and she said yeah it was it was unusual but it was mad but let's not make this about drugs please i want to go to south america your first one was you want to do heroin jack yeah true true but this one's not bad yeah yeah um yeah that's mine that'd be really good yeah um again so i know we've we've talked about skiing as well but there's certain ski resorts i really want to ski at like i really want to go to in america vale aspen and breckenridge i've heard of aspen yeah i think aspen might be from the movie dumb and dumber maybe that's where you've heard it are these just like mega resorts yeah so yeah three I just always like the look of wanting to ski but also I really want to go skiing in Japan because I've never skied in Japan and that'd be amazing can you ski on Mount Fiji?

56:29I don't know that'd be cool possibly depends on what the slope's like would be cool right but yeah so that's one of my things are you going to go any point? I think I will at some point go to Japan skiing certainly the others yeah what you'd sooner go to that than the three you've put on your bucket list um well that they're all those are all my bucket list those four things japan and the other three i think it's well either what is the number one ski resort in the world like in terms of that's your what for me no like what is object like what do they say is like objectively the number one there is there is a it varies a bit there is um a lot of things what did i see recently people were talking about in the three valleys which is like meribel and course cheval um where's that france switzerland maybe I kind of struggle to think about Torren that's what everyone's like for the minute I really struggle with things I desperately want to do but there's a couple of things I want to experience doing for others so I really want to either take finger in making a woman come it's going to be Isaac it's going to be talking about Isaac that's not my problem yeah I didn't know you were going there no we didn't know that did we I wanted to we would have said it if you'd got words out quicker yeah Isaac really wants to go to Tokyo in general but he keeps asking about I took him to London Comic Con last year and he always reads about San Diego San Diego Comic Con which is the main one that everyone seems to know even over in England so I think maybe next year I'll try and take him to one of those places or he can come on mine and Jack's road trip and we'll stop in there yeah I'll leave him with you guys for two weeks that would be good so I'll take him skiing to Japan we'll take him on our road trip we're making a lot of plans today aren't we yeah none of which we'll do No, I will do the road trip.

58:14I'll do the cruise.

58:18I'll do heroin. Give me some heroin, yeah. Okay, yeah, that sounds good. San Diego or Tokyo. I would love to actually make a sitcom one day. That's on my bucket list. I've gone through a lot of ideas. I've written a lot of pilots. I say a lot, probably three or four. But I've never really seen through six episodes. A lot of people actually have been asking about the thing i was doing with alfie a few years ago uh the sitcom for joe is famous the reason we stopped doing it is we just had a harsh honest look at ourselves and realized we were just rewriting extras right it's kind of like the opposite to extras but it's it's in that same world yeah what i mean like a guy who gets famous who doesn't really want to be faint yeah be famous so it's it's like it was too similar um and then i had another i've got another idea for a really good sitcom at the moment can i can i quickly tell you i'm not going to tell you the story but can i tell you this weird thing that's happened i can't tell you who it is one of my relatives right who i trust explicitly is that the word explicitly yeah yeah told me this story about something that happened to them right and it is the maddest story ever and i've been told i can't tell it on the podcast right because it's personal but it's the maddest story ever and i then told uh a guy uh comedy writer uh my friend pete about this who works the bbc and he was like that is insane right and i was like that could be a short film right or a series he was like write it that's amazing then out of the blue you know graham norton yeah you know the the segment on there where they get strangers to come on in red chairs and they tell a story and when he's bored he hits the button and they flip off the chair someone goes on someone said pete sent me this and was like what's this about someone went on and told that exact story and it is so unique that it could it could not have happened to two people because there's lots of elements and i don't understand what's gone on here because this person has no connection to the person I know but my person's claiming it happened to them but they're saying so I don't know what the fuck has gone on here and it's made me look like a massive liar to Pete because I've gone this happened to them and then they found it unless that person unless the person I don't know who you who you've told unless your person you've told has just taken a story and said oh my mate did it yeah but they're saying it happened to them that's the yeah I don't get it I think there's a lie but you know it's like one of those things that people always say oh yeah, my mate was having a wank and his mum came in.

1:00:57Maybe it's one of those sort of things. It's fucking weird. Yeah, it's weird. And I am just a messenger. This did not happen to me. But I look like the fucking weirdo that's going, this happened to my mate. Weird. But yeah, one day I will make that into a sitcom. Nice. Good. Yeah. I'd like to take my kids to Vancouver and Worcester, where I used to live. Have they been together? They went to Toronto. I like to take them. One of the better skiers like taking Whistler and all this. Literally all yours are just skiing. That's what I was going to say. They're all kind of the same. Go to North America and go skiing.

1:01:31But yeah, I like to take my kids there at some point. But it's very expensive to do lessons there. So I'd like to be good at skiing and something. But Vancouver as well sort of thing, because I lived there for a year. Could you ever see yourself moving there? Well, that leads on nicely to my other thing. You did not move there. But I'd like at some point, probably when retired, or at least when the kids left home, to live abroad for a bit okay and that doesn't necessarily mean that could just mean for a summer wouldn't necessarily mean probably living norwich yeah but it'd be like to live in a city to pick a random city or a random city happy mental big city i want to go to rather than that i guess i'm going to slough um i should have probably just put foreign ones um but no um just just pick a city and just spend a few months just in a in one place just sort of that's cool yeah it'd be nice It was great when I was in Canada.

1:02:23It was a lovely thing to do. I'd like to do it again now. Learn the language. I'm not particularly fussed about learning a language for the sake of it, but do language lessons. Embrace some random things. Not necessarily the most touristy place. Not necessarily Barcelona, maybe a less... Seville. Yeah, something like that sort of thing. I'd love to do that at some point, because I think that'd be a nice, fun thing to do. I would love to own an apartment in New York. I would love to spend a few months a year in New York New York's club I love that place so much yeah I'd love to have it there so I could go back and experience different seasons yeah I'd love to do an autumn in New York yeah you've done summer and winter and Christmas yeah but I'd love to do an autumn spring can fuck itself but autumn well into it nice yeah right number one my number one was I want to take my mum to Graceland yeah and Elvis's gaff yeah I've been Graceland is it good?

1:03:17Yeah. Smaller than you think. Yeah, my mum's mad, mad super fan. To the extent, I don't know if she minds me saying this. My mum got into a hobby over the last few years. She'd get old dollhouses and make them up and make them look really good. And she's had this big one, probably about that big, a few foot size in a living room. Size of a massive toaster. Imagine that. What? I'm trying to explain the size. Size of an oven would be the easy way to do it. Same thing. Washing machine. but she's had this big like dollhouse type thing that she's she and inside it she like wallpapers all the walls and everything yeah she's had that in the living room for ages she was going to get rid of it recently and only a couple of weeks ago she was like you know i'm going to try and make it look like graceland instead and it she sent me photos of it the other day it looks incredible she's got a jungle room she's cut up on the outside okay but she hasn't done but like on the outside she cut up egg cartons into small squares painted them so it looks like all the brickwork on the outside i'll show you it's so this is how much of an elvis fan she is so this this is what graceland looks like what this is elvis presley's house in memphis tennessee and then that's what she's been doing what the fuck dollhouse what the hell is that mad look it's even got the two benches out the front and she made these out of like um plastic piping and stuff that's that's real grace no that's my mum's oh nice that's mad isn't it yeah really So she's been doing that, but she's like major, major Elvis fan.

1:04:44But my mum's never owned a passport, never been on a boat somewhere, never been on a plane. She's terrified of flying. Terrified of flying, terrified of boats as well. How are you going to do it? Are you going to drug her like the Agaracus? That's what I've got to try and figure out. I ain't going to go plane. Yeah, I ain't going to go plane full. I just have this medicine. That'll be my big thing. I've got to try and figure that out, and I'll get her over there one day. Yeah, that'd be amazing. Elvis is gaff. It's like a very normal house, a lot of us will think. And then he's just randomly got this jungle room.

1:05:10like it's just brilliant imagine having that in your house looks like you're playing mini golf though like a random green the room so I was like yeah I want a jungle room you can go on as well and have a look around why is your mum so obsessed with Elvis I don't know because I think he died when she was about four as well but I was like I guess that was like the penultimate perfect man back then and like the person everyone loved I don't get it Elvis don't tell my mum that there are there are there are a lot of um critics of him aren't they because it's it's like it's not it's not really it's not really singing it's like i know it's like it's like the fact that he didn't do his he didn't write the song yeah yeah i mean it feels like no it feels like it's just like someone off of pop idol or something do you know i mean it's like i think he was kind of the first to do what he was doing like when he was first like the way he was dancing on tv and stuff everyone was a bit like well even in forrest gump they even kind of poke fun at it and say it's like the boy with the dodgy leg isn't it it's like not really dancing but he's a cool guy i guess he's quite died on the toilet didn't he yeah eating a burger wasn't he did bob marley die on the toilet as well no he had a toe can right my number one uh again don't know if this is a bit sexist but number one on my list is it's like a man i want to have sex with sophie lloyd she's listening i just saw you change it from jack johnson

1:06:40no it's go to alaska okay yeah that's number one on my list always has been yeah maybe great now the end of my canada road trip we just got the top apparently there's not much to do there but i'm just fascinated i'd love to go there yeah yeah let's go alright but I mean tomorrow like I'd love to do this yeah I'd do it will you though yeah if it's stuff I want to do Alaska would have a good ski slope wouldn't it I don't know I don't know I'd love to go to Anchorage or something I want to see a bear in the wild I could do some videos there yeah let's go pay for me and we'll go cool deal thanks for listening and watching this has been Jackmates Happy Hour with me Jackmates Stevie White and Robbie Knox those were our bucket list items do let us know if you'd like us to do an episode about things that you guys want to do because steve you did put a form on reddit i've got quite a few responses already so maybe we can do an episode where we talk about theirs and discuss whether that's something we'd be interested in or something we'd never want to do you know what we could do if we do do that uh a trend at the moment are the draft picks so you get like a budget so say say we list we go through 20 things people want to do we each have a list of like say a million pounds and we bid on how much we want to do it and we can pick like three things and spend our money on it there we go if you liked it let's go through your bucket list ideas next time yes sorry sophie by the way you apologize afterwards yeah i would i would actually yeah i'd have to wouldn't i this normally doesn't happen

1:08:15jack mates happy hour

In today's Monday main show madness, Jaack, Stevie & Robbie discuss their ultimate bucket list items. Things still left to do before the trio ultimately pop their clogs (or Air Force 1's - if you're Jaack).

The boys explain why they'd sooner opt for doing heroin over ayahuasca. Spoiler alert: Joe Weller's found God and it's scared them. Jaack tries to explain why Jack Johnson playing the guitar is more attractive than Sophie Lloyd playing the guitar, kind of... (sorry Sophie) and Stevie shows off something his Mum's been grinding on for a while.

With Robbie turning 67 next year, it's about time he finally started getting out of the house and living life for once. So what's on his bucket list? Is it skiing? Ski resorts? Ski trips? The possibilities really are endless.

Also, the boys have a pretty serious plea to Norwich City council that, if received well, could land them their dream job away from the podcast.
