In short
Fat Joe and Jadakiss trade stories and opinions on the Knicks championship parade, BET Awards moments, and a long-running debate over Nas’s Illmatic vs. Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg’s The Chronic. They also discuss richest rappers, music production choices (skits), and broader industry behavior.
Guest backgrounds
Fat Joe (NYC rapper; long-time hip-hop figure; hosts “Joe and Jada”) and Jadakiss (NYC rapper; long-time group/solo presence). They reference Nas, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Remy Ma, Snoop Dogg, Daz, and others as peers/subjects.
Key claims
Fat Joe says the Knicks parade was his first time seeing rappers arrive on time; he describes MSG/Dolan rules for who could ride the float. He argues The Chronic’s production quality makes it a legitimate “greatest album” contender, even if Illmatic is his favorite. They praise BET’s Lauren Hill tribute and discuss performances/awards.
Notable examples
Mary J. Blige picking Fat Joe up at 6 a.m.; Fat Joe recounting being blocked from a float seat; Drewski’s Bible-driven food drive encounter; BET Awards Lauren Hill tribute speech about love and praising God.

She felt so good when Sheree introduced us and Ken's on that yacht. And just before she brought us out, she said, you know how Jada Kiss says every show legendary, every show iconic. That means it's actually resin like people memorize. That ain't this. They probably know that shit. You know we number one. We shitting on nigga. James had to laugh at that. Yo, James. Yo, James. James, let me tell you something.
4:01James, I don't know where he gets his number. I love this guy. He got the numbers. He knows everything. I've never seen the numbers. Ladies and gentlemen, I've yet to ever seen the numbers. But if he said we number one, we number one. Yo, bro, we fucking number one. Let me explain, Sandy. With a bullet. right? With a bullet. Energy. Energy. Don't lie. Algorithm ain't nothing but energy. So if every time we go on, shit go viral, millions of views, this and this and that, and everybody else working, they putting out podcasts at the same time we putting out podcasts and they shit ain't got fluidity, they ain't in the algorithm, we number one.
4:44So I don't need nobody to tell me, yo, here's a fucking Robin Award or or the Lippo Tortilli Award. I'm telling you what is going... Who's the most relevant podcast in the game? It is what it is. Nobody can lie to me. You've been around too long to let these guys lie to you, because we can't do that. Who else got fluidity like us? Nobody. As simple as that. I don't know what to tell you. Yo, James, what's your man's... Let me see your man's book. Before I get started, just go all over the place. Hip-hop. Man got a school. What's the name of the school? Pencil Man. Okay, Pencil Man. Shout out to Mickey Fats.
5:29Mickey Fats, the brother here. They got this book. Hip-hop mental therapy with some of the greatest verses could help you get through whatever you're getting through in life. Breaking through with bars. It's fire. Breaking through with bars. Yo, Jada, let me tell you something, man. We went to Sancho. They call you Sancho Pay, Jada. Nah. Jada cleaned up nice. He over there. He said, yo, I see your Jada. You know, it's cans. He said, come on, man. I'm going through my Papi Chulo shit right now. I ain't going to let you down. That nigga was in that Papi Chulo bag. My motherfucker came out there in a can.
6:10He wasn't playing with it. Because, you know, sometimes, you know, you got to play. You saw I ran up there and I went and got a suit. Yeah. Fucked up. I came late trying to fucking go get a suit stuck in the traffic and all that. Yeah, the traffic was crazy out there. No, it was retarded. But I had a great time, man. Shout out to... Yeah. Auburn View. Shout out to Auburn View. It looked like Memorial Weekend for rich niggas in cans. Yeah, I seen nothing. I went in the club. It was nothing but basketball players, all type of niggas with crazy paper. I was like, oh, this is where Memorial Weekend went to.
6:44Like, that was crazy. Shit was kind of lit, right? I've seen the most yachts I've ever seen, the most jets. The most, shit was crazy. It was nice, though. The service, the service was nice. Everything was beautiful. You know what I noticed? Hot as hell. You know what I noticed lately? Because finally, my brother's back. One of my top five dead are alive. he's been mad at me because he wasn't on the float at the Puerto Rican at the the Nick Parade I have a lot of friends best friends rappers all type of shit that are so pissed at me that they didn't come on that float now be careful what you wish for because I deal with MSG with with Mr.
7:40Dolan and them. First of all, let's break it down. Mr. Dolan don't really like nobody. He don't. And for some reason, Dolan and the craziest guys, they love Fat Joe. I don't know why. I mean, mass murderers, they all love me, right? And Mr. Dolan loves Fat Joe. so I already know I got to follow these rules when I'm around this man the right way or we on the highway. So the man give me the flow. I actually followed the rules. Occupancy, how many I come, this, this, this. I only come a rich player. I tell everybody you got to come by. He said, told you I rules kids. They couldn't come on the flow.
8:29They can't. It was like, You just can't, right? But his wife came last minute. You bought K. You know, it was like, but I personally follow the rules to a T because I know how this is. This ain't no just regular you pulling up. This is fucking Dolan and MSG. But I got in trouble for that. I got rappers mad at me. By the way, Vic and James, y 'all lucky. They made it. It's people that would have killed for them slots on that damn floor. It may have said right there. Yo, listen, brother, you were semi-confirmed. Fucking bae ain't come. Like, what are you talking about? You like, yo, I see you at the parade.
9:16That was in Britain. That right there, y 'all owe this one. I really owe one of that. Are you fucking for real? That's super VIP. That's iced out Russian Brazilian country. Listen, I have beef. Yeah, you know what kind of VIP that is? 30 years, like rappers. Because they couldn't come on the floor. They were like, who's that motherfucker? Rappers. Rappers that I know for 30 years. I had to go home with everything. They was blowing up. I stopped answering their phone. You know how much shit I had to bring home to keep the peace? I bought mad. I bought everything they got home. Mad hat, shirts, all type.
9:56I bought enough shit to smother it. They forgot about it. Thank God. Just don't turn on the TV. But what I noticed there, right, was there was somebody we know. I'll tell you who it is after. No, no, no. Don't give them the who. Don't give them the who. No, no, no. There's somebody that I really was trying to get on the flow. And I recommended the person. Then I re-recommended the person. Then I re-recommended the person. Who? And then finally, the people that deal with it, they said, you know, that guy's an asshole. Now, in 2026, I've been robbed by so many people, stabbed in the back by so many.
10:40It's very, very, extremely hard for me to vouch for somebody. And I don't even vouch the niggas no more. Like, I don't know who's who no more in 2026. So I go above and beyond and says, are you kidding me? This guy's one of the greatest guys I know on the earth. and then their response was, this guy's a piece of shit. I said, a piece of shit? Who? This guy treats us like a piece of shit. He talks to us like we're beneath him. Oh. So I'm thinking, I'm like, but this guy treats me like amazing. So I'm thinking, I'm saying, and then I finally realized that shit happened to me in Cairns, two, three places where I was talking about somebody and they was like, and they just treats me like shit.
11:30What are you talking about? I'm like, you crazy? And I realized, could people treat me differently because I'm fat, Joe? Yes. No, no, I just realized that. No. I'm thinking if you nice to me, you nice to everybody. I'm realizing these guys are fucking assholes with everybody else talking to people like shit, but they see fat Joe and they're like, yo, Joe, what's up? Yo, Jada, what's up? This, but they're really pieces of shit. it happened to me three times this week where I was involved but I realized this guy might be a piece of shit nah they just treat me different how about that no because I'm Fat Joe they treat me different I'm thinking they're good guys they walking right outside the door treating everybody else like shit and she you know they telling me this guy treats me like shit he ain't getting on that flow he ain't getting on the flow but I fought for the guy.
12:29I won't even tell him that I fought for him or nothing like that but it was like it just made me realize in life do you think people treat you a certain way because you jaded kiss but then treat other people like shit? Definitely. That's just the world we live in. I never thought of that. I guess I'm naive. Why do you think that Reston Rock can be full and they skip and say yo come on Joe come on. Holy Christmas tree. Holy Christmas tree. If you knew the restaurant I discovered in your hood, you will commit suicide. You niggas will be there every day. I went to a restaurant and he's placed on you.
13:12I was in Greenwich Village. I went up there to shop and I hit up Tommy Mottola. And I said, you know, Tommy's a foodie. Pancake. I said Killer Pancake No no he had the Killer Pancake He sent me a picture of the pancake you gotta stop you gotta stop Killer Pancake I'm losing my good friend but in any case I'm out there and I know Tommy used to live out there I said yo Tommy is there a good restaurant out here he said you want a good one or you want Phenom I said no I want the Phenom it's 20 minutes from there but more towards over here so you go over to the Cuomo village Tap and Z. Tap and Z, little three exits.
13:58Holy shit. I went two times. I went the day before I went to San Tropez. Came back and went straight there with the Lovies on Saturday. Now, I'm with the Lovies. Nobody know Italian food like the Lovies. They get busy. You hear me? I said, yo, y 'all got to take you to this restaurant. I took them to that restaurant. And they bring this eggplant shit out first. it tastes like Joe Neiman's in the Bronx. Lovey tastes it and she goes, this is good. She tastes it again. She goes, no, this is real good, Joe. I said, she said, so far, Joe, you got it. The eggplant is some shit they give you. Everything kept coming.
14:44And Lovey's just like, holy Christ. They interviewed the nigga, the chef. Like, where you from in Italy and the town? Yo, bro, I found the best Italian restaurant in the world in your backyard. I'm going to tell you what it is. I don't want to say it. Don't say it on it. They're not ready for this. You already know when it's a real moment, you need a real bottle. That's why we rock with 1800 Tequila. Y 'all heard me? These people been making tequila for 11 generations. That's right, 11. That's a legacy. That's OG status. OG. They were the first to introduce a Nejo. Set the standard before most of these brands even existed.
15:30And you could taste the difference for real. The 1800 Cristalino and Reposado is what we've been on lately. Smooth, clean, elevated. No burn, no rough edges. Just a premium pour that speaks for itself. You know when it's something that's just built right? That's what this is. Real talk, that's just what it is. It's always around for the best nights, the wins, the celebrations, the remember that night story. Whether you're keeping it low-key with the crew or you're pulling up to a big event, 1 ,800 fits every setting. It ain't trying too hard. It's just that. 1 ,800 tequila, real legacy, real smooth.
16:10That's the move. True, true, true. One. You know, Johnson's fried chicken. They went up. man told me he used to sell 25 mustards a week he sells 85 mustards a day now since they've been on our show alright god forbid that poor little Italian restaurant I shout them niggas out that shit gonna be out whoo whoo like when I say this shit is so fucking good man like I'm like I went up in there and Lovie was like oh no we coming back to this we got yo we take We never, I'm the type of dude, I never take nothing to go. Noble, wherever, I don't take nothing to go. Oh, I took everything to go. You don't want that?
16:58I take. You don't want that? I take. You don't want that? I take. You don't want that? I take. How was Juwan at the BET Awards, man? What was his experience? Shout out to Azzy and Juwan. I ain't speak to him yet. He flew, he came in last night and he was just still in the bed when I left out. He was like jet lagged and all that. Yeah, they was out there working, I seen them. They was letting. Azzy was really, she really impressed me, man. My daughter got a podcast, Azzy, from Yanktunthin, yeah. Real little, you know, young girl shit, but about fashion. But I was really impressed how she was interviewing everybody.
17:35And she could, you know, when you go interview Jason Lee, she interviewed Jason Lee, and he gave her a little, and she came back with the, I said, oh, shit, you know, Jason Lee. you go throw the throw with him you a bad motherfucker that's my fucking guy so she I seen all that I was like wow she's doing her thing Drewski killed it man I like that preacher shit he do impregnate the world with God yo this nigga is crazy yo this nigga let me tell you something was you with me when we gave out the food last weekend up in West I was talking he was still he was still yo yo hallelujah I see to me I see yo he's back this guy ain't talked to me since the parade I swear to God I called him the other day for the fight I know he was pissed he had to give me like the code yo but what's the code I gotta get the dancing okay this this that he was mad he had to break the silence for that I gotta see the fight But I go like this, right?
18:44Food drive. Last week. You know, my stores, they smack dead in the hood. Right? So I'm out there. We giving out food. And the dude comes up, a kid, young kid. He's like a pastor. He got the Bible in his hand. At first response, you would say he's a little slow. Like, he looks a little slow. But this guy, when I tell you he's Drewski or steroids, but really mean it. He says, and he comes to me. You know, I don't know how they find you. You could be on the train that the crazy guy finds you on the train. I don't know why. So he comes up to me. I don't even think he knows I'm fat, Joe. I'm sitting out there, no Jews, regular, giving out food.
19:30He says, you see me? Two years. No sticker there and no telephone number. This! He got the Bible. This is my Instagram. This entertained me. This all I need. He walks away. Nigga looking at me like a lion in a cage. He's locked in. And they trying to play him. You know, the crew's like, yo, my man fall back. I said, no, no, let him go. Because, you know, I'm into God. So I look at him. He walks. He goes, you think my needy woman and this and this and that? No. This is the right. Yo, let me tell you something. Yo, man, this guy's incredible, man. I'm looking at him and he's like doing a Hamilton about the Bible.
20:25So I understand what he's saying. I'm like looking at him. I'm like, you know, and they trying to stop him. I'm like, yo, leave him alone, man. He's doing his shit. He talking about, man, let me tell you, Drewski remind me of this guy. But this guy is serious about the Bible. Drewski's playing a rap. Drewski's playing around, but he's playing around like this guy in the middle of the street. That guy ain't playing around. He not playing. And he kill him. He says, I was deaf my whole life. This making me here now. I said, yo. I'm looking at him. I said, yo, this guy. This guy, man, we could make some money.
21:04This guy's like a Creflo Dollars in a big deal. Incredible. I watched him walk away like it was like a fucking movie or a fairy tale. When he walked away, he walked away. I stared at him walking down the block. I said, yo, who was that man? Like, that man is a motherfucking movie. In Washington Heights, y 'all got one. That preacher, that young boy, he like 27. I never, y 'all, he was talking that shit, but y 'all listen. Shout out to the Clips. They got album of the year. B.T. Yeah. They gave him that? Yeah. He deserved that. The Lauren Hill tribute was fire, too. Oh, my God. That was fire. He said, listen, when we're talking about God, we say, if you ashamed to praise him, he's ashamed to bless you.
21:56So you got to speak that shit into existence. You got to big him up at every chance. But that Lauren Hill. So far. And I understood, you know, because sometimes shit go over my head. sometimes I ain't in the moment. And her speech where she was like, I grew up in a great family and I was loved. And through my music, I wanted to show you love because I know a lot of people didn't grow up like me. So when you hear my music, I was trying to let you know there's love out there. And that shit was so, that was so impactful to me when I heard her speech. You know, everything, you know, Lauryn Hill, you know, Remy, my sister, she'll shoot you.
22:39But you know, Lauryn Hill has always been my... No. Shooting a nigga over Ben, yeah, I'm Remy. Let me tell you something. You don't want to be for Remy Ma. You want to be on her good side. Kiss her ass a little and just keep it moving because she can go left. And when I tell you... But Lauryn Hill's my favorite female rapper. And, um... Not top five. number one. And man, that speech, man, it motivated me so much, that speech. And the tribute was incredible. And Nas, huh? He looked like that casino money starting to trickle in, right? That suit was a different fabric. We just came from Sancho Pate.
23:24That shit was something. I want to know, stylists out there, tell me what kind of suit Nas had on. It got to be a Tom Ford or some wild shit that motherfucker look 20 years. This week on the podcast, I'm sitting down with Divergent author Veronica Roth to talk about her sprawling new novel, Seek the Traitor's Son. It's a sci-fi fantasy epic about two protagonists on opposite sides of a war and a prophecy neither of them wanted. My first book was Divergent. And when that came out, like, because it was so popular, I think it attracted, like, mostly positivity. but the negativity I sucked in like a sponge. And I think it was like critiques of things I liked when I was like, you know, I was 23 and I wrote this book and it had all my like dorky little cheesy or maybe unrealistic loves in it.
29:27And I started to feel a lot of shame about those things. And so for the rest of my career, I steered away from those little things that like make you feel pleasure when you read. But I also was like saying no to these parts of myself that I then was like, screw it. So that's this book. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. 30:38They did top to bottom, though. I posted it on the video. Nicks? Yes! Niggas did 10 cars. Different graffiti, right? You know how much a whole car is? They did 10 whole cars. The whole car is nicks, nicks, nicks, nicks, nicks. Different graffiti niggas did a mural for the next. He hit me. Yo, your guys still hit it. I said, no, that's not my guys. But I could have told you they were going to do it. Like, niggas ain't doing it in the greatest city. But anyway, Jay-Z had the train rat. Fire. He should have told me because I was talking to him a week before to do that. He was acting like it was impossible.
31:17Then Jay come with the shit. You know what they did to me? Shout out to the point. I do graffiti on the rooftop there with Tats. I went there and there's a guy who cooks there. He's a caterer. He uses the kitchen. I'm starving. You hear me? I'm talking about super duper starving. and he making burgers, cheeseburgers. And I go down there. This is in the Bronx. I go down there. I say, you're my man. I'm starving. Can I have a burger? The man says, yo, man, these accounted for. I'm catering. I can't give you a burger. This, this, that, right? I said, let me ask you a question. I need you to be honest.
32:01He said, I'll be honest. I said if Jay-Z walked in a community center in Brooklyn and they were making a hundred burgers and he told them he was starving, would they give him a burger? The nigga looked me in the face and said, yeah, they would give him a burger. I said, all right, my brother. Kept it moving. Let me tell you something, man. These niggas ain't got no respect, man. They give him a train, they give him the burger. Yo, this shit crazy, my nigga. That nigga straight told me no to a burger. He hurt my feelings, though. I'll never ask him again, but he should have gave me a burger in the Bronx.
32:44You know, I do a lot for the community. Should have gave me a burger wherever he was at. It's only a burger. Niggas is tight with the burgers, man. I don't know a burger, man. Some Fat Joe shit. NBA draft. You don't pay attention. I saw the boozer. That's the only one I care about. Everybody's switching on. I saw the boozer. They're fake person. This is funny, shit. You ever been around people that change their voice around other people? Yeah. So you might be with a dude. We get around a bunch of white business dudes, and he starts talking like dumb. Yeah, so how you doing, Harry? Hey, Harry. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

That kid is trying to catch the most endorsements off the scene that anybody ever caught in the world.
34:23That motherfucker two-timer fell and full of shit. How do you feel about that? Where people, not just white, I've been around people that you get around different circles and they start talking different. What you think of... You already know anybody that switches up anything is full of shit. You gotta talk different to different people. Yeah, J.J.! Fuck these motherfuckers! You're full of shit. Everybody. You talking like this now that you go upstairs and switch to Mr. Whittendale? What the fuck? Brazil! Brazil! They scored! They scored! Brazil scored! Brazil scored! It went crazy! That's right!
35:14Oh, you ain't pussy now, Rich. You ain't pussy now. Y 'all was there one. You ain't pussy now, huh? Oh, that's right. It's on Pete. The top five players is on Brazil? Japan, fuck out of here, yo. You know what I remembered, right? What I remembered, you know, it's a lot of history. You know, they doubt me, but I never forget, they came to my store and they gave me the tickets to the 1994 Source Awards. That's the shit with Snoop Gojo. Joe love us and Chug and also the ACL. where the South got something to say. Very memorable. I was there. I'll tell you two things. So they come to me, they give me Biggie's tickets for Biggie and them to go.
36:06I don't know why they gave it to us. I remember I went over there with Slow and we go to Biggie's house and we give him his tickets to go to the fucking sauce awards for the fucking thing. They gave it to me. I don't remember who. But I remember being in there And so I gasped my man. He used to live in Yonkers. He's locked up still, Frank. He had the first 500 wide body bends ever. And I kept asking him to bring it out for the award shit. And he used to live in Yonkers. Nang, when I tell you he brought it out and we crashed on the sawmill on the way down, that man, that man, what, it killed me.
36:49The first time he ever pulled it out. we on that highway, that sawmill. He crashed that shit. Yo, that nigga. He crashed it? He crashed it. He crashed it, but it was my fault. He kept saying, yo, fat boy, let's go on another whip. Like, let's not bring out the big boy, this and that. Kept like, oh, we got shit on, niggas. We got to bring this shit out, this, this, that. He wound up crashing that shit. And man, he was tight. But we was in there that day. And I remember when all that happened, we were super strapped, statute of limitations, but we were super strapped. And then they was just like, yo, Joe, they still in jail is what I'm trying to do.
37:28He was just dead. It was like, yo, what's up? What you want? I was like, nah, nah. You know, they can handle that. Fall back. Just chill. You know what I'm saying? And this sort of was, I was thinking about it, man. That was a legendary. You wasn't there yet, right? I was watching. It was 95? 95. You was watching at home. man that shit was crazy my man that shit was nuts when you came out of that Madison Square Garden cause it was the theater that post off it was so much it looked like the fucking Nick Parade there was so many niggas outside it was the craziest shit ever you know what I'm saying but it was what a time to be alive LaMelo Ball like what the fuck is All right, let me tell you something right now.
38:21If I was a Charlotte Hornet fan, I'd give them my tickets back. I'd give them my jersey. I'd give them everything. No, no, no. I'm telling you, I'd give them my shit back. I don't give a fuck. They've been waiting, suffering for so many years to finally get it. You know, I was watching them, Charlotte. Like every game on the package, every day, like they were the most exciting young team. How did they get rid of the stars of the young team? LaMelo bought the Timber. What the fuck they got? Like man, drop picks? They got Naj Reed. Naj Reed for LaMelo for the ball? Are you fucking crazy? I read some first round picks and somebody else.
39:19And they got rid of Bridges. I told them. Charlotte blew up the old team. Remember I thought Bridges played for Duke? But you was like, nah, he played for like the third. Michigan State. They got rid of Bridges? Yo, I mean, if you're a Charlotte Hornet fan and they do this, how do you feel? Con Caneple, Brandon Miller. And Nas Reed? so they went with that over LaMelo ball and bridges and all nah man huh so they went for the picks they want to rebuild they finally got poppin man you wore your PF flys yet from the coach I ain't wearing them shits you should have wore it to San Trope I'm getting them signed me too but I'm saying you didn't wear them you should have wore your shits to San Trope You tell me to wear PF flyers.
40:14I might have to wear them shits to the white party or something. The PF flyers. I don't wear them shits to the post office and put them in the box and shit. It closed the thing. Well, Alpine ain't got no post office, right? You got to wear the PF flyers over there where they just won't see you. It's the drop off. Yo, that shit crazy. You got to be fucking kidding. How was it in the parade, man? How you felt? It was the first place. It was awesome. first place I ever been at where all the rappers was on time I never seen that night yo that was an ill shit Mary J came to pick me up at 6 in the morning glammed up and everything hey bro 6 in the morning I said yo everybody out the motherfuckers want to in on that parade they just got up early that day fab he never on time I can't believe he was he's late to every show I got I didn't do the fab to you in cans I was late I was stuck in traffic and all that cause I said Dan didn't they gonna think I did the fab every time I got a show with fab he comes in late something happened he busts a hubcap I alien sighted anything for me to go off first I like going off first approaching him yeah let me get this guy this guy's in central pay right he's performing big yacht, big money people.

When I tell you I got so much admiration and respect for DJ Technician, every time I see him, I'm like, yo, Technique.
42:17He says, yo, Technician. His mother, I met his mother. I said, yo, Technique, man, what a hell of a guy. She said, his name's Technician. I said, mama, mama says she'd watch every episode. Technician's mom. I said, mama, you know. She do, mama. Mama says she watched Every episode, I said, mama, you know I'm fried. You watch the show like that? Every show, you know I'm crazy. 43:01Let me explain something to you. When I'm telling you about the three guys that were sitting with me that they had tickets and then the Brooklyn guys tried to come throw them out and was like, yo, this is our seat. They was acting. That's Xander. Edgar Balanga. Xander and the Panamanian champion. If I ain't jump in, I saved these Brooklyn. These niggas, the hands, the boys with the court. It was Xander. That's it. It was Xander. Who Xander was that first? Edgar Balanga. I got it. And Panama, the fucking king of hands of Panama. They beat the brakes off the niggas in that place right there. I noticed it yesterday when I seen you come in with boots.
43:50I said, damn, just don't know Xander was there for him. That's hell, right? No Xander was at versus. I feel a little sad now. How about he was there before me? Them guys was there already, and I saved them. other guys from getting fucked up. I'm sad, man. Nah, don't be sad. You have boots. That guy's good. He's fucking tough, though. Anyway, he gonna come back. He be good. Be, uh... Would you... I think Jada would have. If you was a boxer, would you have taken that fight that he took with boots? Nah. I wouldn't have. You got to navigate... Nah, everybody know in the boxing world, you box... you do what's best for your career to get to the top without, with as least fucking discrepancies as possible.
44:42You don't just fight everybody that want to fight you. And then you learned that from Floyd. That was like, he waited years to fight people. We wanted to see him fight. Did they fucking show this without? Then he fought him. Then he killed him. Yeah. But for years you say, I want to see him fight him. He let you say what you want to say. I wasn't up on boots like that, but I was in the studio with Austin. He was like, he going to beat the brakes off you, man. I said, yo, you got to stop me. I said, Joe, I promise you. You know what hurt me? He beat them with Bottegas on. Those shits ain't the comfortable with shits.
45:19What, he had Bottegas sneakers on boots? What's that on the Bottegas that we got? He was fighting with Bottegas? He whipped them with Bottegas. I said, this thing is different, dog. He got all both hands with tank vibrations. Xander kept coming at him. Xander's crazy. And he can take, he got a hard A. Yeah, he can take a shot. But listen to what I'm saying. And boy, Boots was doing this. Boots is just nice. Boots is just nice. Yo, you don't see the punch coming. like I watched him he was throwing shit from like his dad and his brothers they got him that's in his family he family they been boxing yeah his dad is right in the ring it's like oh boy the kid the kid's real good too the young Mexican and he was listening to them what they was telling the young Mexican you hear them telling them shit man like this I forgot pretty good too that kid and the whole family I seen I seen yo the whole family was you know box legendary boxing That's Dennis DNA.

What's the greatest hip-hop album we bought on Illmatic? I'm like this quick. It just rolls off my tongue. Like, I'm just... What's up, you used of? Like, I know... What's your favorite? Illmatic is the best hip-hop. That's just to me. I listen to the chronic on the plane. And there's a serious debate of the chronic or like Illmatic. Like, I mean, this shit... he's like if you not down for the black man if you're not ready how many niggas is ready to move so what you gonna do oh Snoop Dogg doing yo bro that boy Daz they was they fucking asses off on that chronic and the production on it was fucking flawless bro they're frozen house like all that shit was like I was listening to it I say yo could this be the greatest album in hip hop ever cause it sure feels like that when you listen no James I take your medical over that every day every day I say it too yo I hear you that's crazy what me and Claude Kent used to argue all the time when you used to start arguing you got to be baited and it killed him on Instagram he used to say that Doggy style is better than Kronik.
54:35He said Doggy style. Ah, you know, it's a I gotta listen to Doggy style. I like that argument way better than Kronik better than O'Malley. I like that argument better. How do you mean? Let me explain to you. I've been in hip hop a long time. Not just as a fan. The way they put that shit together was light years ahead of time. That Kronik? man if you they got skits in there commercials look at the production on Illmatic all the producers I I I I I we're New Yorkers and we love real hip hop and we love Illmatic we have a west coast original in the house No, no. We love Illmatic and we're New Yorkers and me.
55:30It's my favorite album of all time. But when I tell you the production on The Chronic, I'm just telling everybody it's not top tier. I'm talking about greatest of all time. I'm not talking about top tier. I'm talking about it's a legitimate argument. If you go in there unbiased and forget the Nick Parade and all that and you just listen to both albums and the quality and division of ahead of time. They was doing this shit in 93, 92. It's a very serious debate. I'm telling you, it's a very serious debate. Of course, my favorite album of all time is Illmatic, but it's a serious one to have because it's flawless.
56:15And it's just so hard. You know, at that time I was going, you got a flow, yo. like it was it was primitive times it was premature and and they the production that just sounds like you ever I have a movie theater in my house James I didn't take you to my movie theater right I have a real movie theater that when it's so loud a can falls over there you hear the can go or when it rains you hear the rain hit the car like much just sonically. Am I lying? If a nigga get punched in the boxing match in my theater, we hear it. You know, like we hear the blood. It's so sonically. Why did I explain something?
57:06Because you're trying to explain the production value of the chronic. So when Lionsgate comes on and you see the stars and then you hear the lion go, rawr. that fucking Chronic album production sounds like here sound like boom bap you know the greatest of boom bap and when you listen to the Chronic it sound like they spent 300 million dollars on that production is what I'm trying to tell you is the quality on that album that's all I'm saying but here's the beauty of music right in general you're allowed to like whatever you like over other stuff, right? Like, it's all subjective. You got something?
57:50I love Illmatic. My whole life. It's still my favorite album. I feel like the media that you listen to also makes a difference because... The media and improv, we don't listen to nobody. You listen on vinyl and cassette, and you're not skipping anything. You've got all those skits on the chronic... I love those skits. There's a lot of skits that you might not want to listen to over and over again. And so if you're on record or tape, you might be fast forwarding or whatever. So a CD was perfect media for... Let me explain something to you. That is perfect. Let me... That's kind of true. But I love the skits.
58:26I love Wu-Tang skits more than anybody's skits. Yo, son, I'm here. I'm here. All them shits, the shit. Yo, bro, is he dead? Like, I like that. Like, I think hip-hop really lost out on that recently when you hear albums and there's no skits. I like skits it makes it more of a movie production it makes it big you see Little C's I love the dough he's like yo Brooklyn nigga they shooting I don't know I just feel like it tells a story I'm at the scene you know big pun jumps out the car and tells the dude yo Mikey you hustling nobody seen shit nobody seen shit like I love what do you think about the skits on albums you could do without I like skits I like mad rap I think it depends on who's doing them some people did them great like Ghostface had them on his last album he brought them back I would say Wu-Tang was one of the top groups to do skits they the greatest of skits Daylong Daylong got great skits too.
59:47Max Ace did albums that were like stories. Man, how crazy is that that they flipped the Master Ace beat and it's number one in the country right now, Urban. Minks in Miami, that's hot. I liked it. A friend of mine was like, yo, you believe that? I was like, yo, that record is hot. It's great to see French Martin Max B, finally. Let me tell you something. Max B need the peptides. You hear me? But Jada, you want to throw the flag? You need peptide? Can I say something? You're saying it. Come on. I didn't say anything. You stopping. I stopped you saying it. You already said you need peptide. Max B.
1:00:31Elaborate. Can I explain to you? Max B. came out of jail, and he ain't look or sound like Max B. since he came out of jail. he don't sound the same he don't look the same you ever seen anybody you ever 18 years you ain't gonna look the same when you go outside listen to what I'm saying you know anybody that did Trump for 18 years last night a plant a shirt let me say something I told you Nas looked it brand new last night he didn't go nowhere can I say something You got more money than 18 years. You're crazy. Sit anything in a box for 18 years and see how it looks. Can I finish my statement? What?
1:01:23Last night is the first time since Max B came home that he looked like fucking Max B. He was on stage at the BET award with the big fur. I said, shit, that's fucking Max B, nigga. like the nigga I seen 18 years ago before the box. Last night, I'm looking at TV and I'm like, holy shit. He looks like Max fucking B. I tell you, the night before he went to jail, I seen him with a fucking pilot's hat with like four white girls dancing in the middle of a hood club. He was a movie. Last night, he had this big ass fur hat. Sailor hat or pilot hat? Huh? A sailor hat or pilot hat? One of the two. I'm fried.
1:02:10It's a long time ago. It was one of the two. Not only did he just have the hat, he had like the blazer to go with it. Like he was flying the plane or some shit. Or sailor. I'm telling you, he wore that shit. Yo, Max B. Shout out to Max B. Last night is the first time I saw Max B. Since he came. Just me. I don't know. You know, Fat Joe Fried. We interviewed him. 1:03:13Secret society shit. You can't just be promoting peptides. You might got a deal. How could you think everybody's on peptides? Smart ones are. I've seen some shit where French did an interview where he said he the richest guy out of New York. Top three. He's definitely not that. But I don't even know what that means.
1:03:41He said he got the back. French does have the back, guys. Legendary back. Top three. You know, you got what? 50 Cent. You got JC. You got Puff Daddy. You got a lot of people. You got people you don't know about. Yeah, you got people you don't even know about. And so what happens is, but you know, he's talking this shit. you know what we supposed to stop him he's talking his shit yo I'm the richest out of New York it is what it is I don't give a fuck this that I mean everybody's allowed to talk they shit you know but um he got a bag he ain't got that bag he got a bag that record that minks in Miami he said yo I could just go live in Dubai leave this shit alone no you know a song is words, right?
1:04:36I know that. No, no, no. No, no, no, I'm telling you. Life is the prince. I'm not counting nobody's money. I don't care what nobody has. I had money before a lot of people had money. I was broke when people had money. And none of that shit means anything. How about that? We all going to die. Somebody else going to spend your shit anyway. that is a fact. So you're doing all this working for somebody else, ain't he? That is a fact. Fuck, that's a hot look, guys. You're busting your ass for somebody else. You ain't lying. I know I'm not. But French definitely ain't got a bag. He got a bag. He got it.
