In short

Jay Pharaoh guest on Joe and Jada, discussing his comedy/voice-impression skills, his path to Saturday Night Live, and stories from music/rap and sports culture (including Jay-Z/Rick Ross impersonation talk and “Glizzy” fandom). He also reflects on growing up in Chesapeake, VA, bullying/being sensitive as a fat kid, and the pressure of performing on a national stage.

Guest backgrounds

Jay Pharaoh is a stand-up/actor/rapper/comedy performer known for “over 200” impressions. He grew up in Chesapeake, VA (757 area), had an apostolic/church upbringing, and did theater and road work with Charlie Murphy before SNL.

Key claims

He says his greatest impressions are often Eddie Murphy, Denzel, or Jay-Z (depending on who asks). He describes SNL pressure, sketch pullbacks, and later “dominating,” including doing an Obama impression. He argues artists go through cycles before hits return, comparing it to Michael Jordan being cut.

Notable examples

Church impersonations of The Rock (getting wrestling privileges taken away), SNL Obama impression, getting thrown out of a movie theater with 100 friends, and Rick Ross stories (his hustle, big events, and a “furniture store” impression idea).

4:14Fat Joe:That's what kind of funny, that's what kind of iced out funny as hell.

4:18Jay Pharaoh:With the meanest diamonds.

4:22Fat Joe:You know what I'm saying? Sharp as a razor. dangerous with a voice. You know what I mean? Somebody walked into Saturday Night Live and made the whole country stop what they were doing. And that's facts. You think over 200 impressions and every single one of them is accurate. You think of the guy who stood up at the biggest comedy institution in America and said, nah, we need more black women in the building. You know what I mean? Knowing full well it could have cost them everything. You think fearless. You think principle. You think the type of dude who gets guns drawn on him during the jog, gets a knee in his neck, and still comes back and makes the world laugh about it because that's the only way he knows how to fight.

5:22You think the actor, rapper, game show host, stand-up legend.

5:31Fat Joe:You think the type of artist that don't fit in any box. Because every time somebody built one, he burnt it down. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Jay Farrell to the Joe and Jay.

5:48Fat Joe:What's happening? Hey, hey, hey, hey.

5:53Jay Pharaoh:After that, the show over. We done. That came. Yo, I'm not even going to lie to you. I think you need to, like, save that for wherever your documentary is. Yeah. That intro. That shit was legendary. Jada the new Morgan Freeman. Yeah.

6:10Fat Joe:I like to be that with a little bit more skin cream. Yeah. I take that career with just a little bit of more. a little more faces.

6:21Jadakiss:What's your greatest impersonation? Your greatest impersonation. My greatest impersonation? Man, I don't know, man. Like, you know, people always ask. It just depends. It's contingent on where I'm at. You know what I mean? Like, most people ask. They say Eddie Murphy. Some people say Denzel. Some people say Jay-Z. I don't know. I mean. I mean, yeah. You tell me, you know. I mean, you know, because, you know, basically, I like what y 'all did to the place, you know. It's a lot of colors. A lot of vodka in here. Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, oh, sorry, tequila. Yeah, pardon me. I'm still a little tipsy and woozy from the Metcattler.

6:56Jadakiss:You know? Yeah. I was getting a little drunk off the stuff here. The 1800. The 1800. Yeah. Yeah, that's what it is.

7:04Fat Joe:That's the closest we ever gonna get the whole day.

7:11Jadakiss:My God. He called me fake Jay-Z when he sees me and he laughs. Oh, he says that. Yeah. Yeah, what up, fake Jay-Z? Yeah. You the fake one. You never get Beyonce, nigga. You know? Never. AI. It's the original AI. It's in his bloodstream. We was rocking back in the day and stuff like that. I remember back in Marcy Projects, we was running things. You was beating up guys, as usual. This nigga hits people. You know? Shit.

7:50Jay Pharaoh:last night at the game. That's weird. Like he sounds just like some of that kind of shit. He say none of that. You know, Jay ain't go to a Knick game in about 10 years or something. Cause you know, he, he had peace in the nets. So he ain't going like 10 years. So like it was a big deal that he showed up.

8:12Fat Joe:Yeah.

8:12Jay Pharaoh:We thought he wasn't coming.

8:14Fat Joe:He lit the building up yesterday.

8:16Jay Pharaoh:He lit them up. It was a little turbulence. Not turbulence, like a lot of groupie-ism going on around the Jays. I had to hit him. Y 'all keep it moving and get the glizzies.

8:31Jay Pharaoh:No. Like. So soon. This shit like one of the movies, like Tadaga. What's the Tadaga night? Tadaga. Saladay. Saladay the night. Yo, I got a whole fan club by the Glizzy stand. They all sitting there like, yo, Joe, you coming for the Glizzys? You coming for the—and I go get my Glizzys.

8:57Jadakiss:You did the—it's the fact that you did this while you was doing it. That's— Yo, oh, no, stop. Pause, man. Glizzy fan club. Glizzy for real.

9:09Jay Pharaoh:No, no. Every game, I have a Glizzy fan club. they know I'm going to the they tell me security's like you're going for the glizzies right I said yeah I'm going to the glizzies so okay I go over there yo I need four glizzies this that give me the real give me the real mustard this and this and that and they filming me and all that shit yo did he come in here

9:32Jadakiss:cause it sound kinda kinda take that little pause you know little playboy you know he's really passionate about glizzies Yeah. Yeah, I can see that. Yeah. Surprised we don't have a package of Ritz or Nathan's.

9:49Jay Pharaoh:No, no, but I'm telling you a true story. When I get to the fucking cassette, because they, look, there's a fancy place where you go. Have you been to the Nick game halftime? Yeah, you serve you steaks and lobsters and all that. You're talking about in the suite, right? Yes. Yeah, absolutely. So I got to go. So if you order a glizzy from there, they come with whack glizzies. I don't know why. so I gotta go to where the real people go to where they have to purchase the glizzy that's where you get the real shit I go there and there's a bunch of people waiting for me with the camera I don't know why that shit ain't viral to where like hey Joe the glizzies how many of you are two for me two for Rich play of the God don't act like he ain't eating the glizzies too Rich play of the God

10:38Jadakiss:Yeah, that's wild right there. Saturday Night Live.

10:41Jay Pharaoh:How do you get this job? And what an honor. Chesapeake, VA. Oh, man. What was it like growing up in VA? Shit, I don't think I've been to Chesapeake.

10:53Fat Joe:I know where you got some of your internal funniness from because it's just...

10:58Jay Pharaoh:Yeah, man. Where's Chesapeake located at? Near what other big city? Virginia Beach, 757. All right. You know what I'm saying? Norfolk. I'm in there.

11:06Jadakiss:You know, I'm from the same place. Pharrell, Timbaland, Missy. Clips.

11:12Jay Pharaoh:Teddy Riley moved down there. All that.

11:15Jadakiss:You know.

11:15Jay Pharaoh:Oh, so that's a, Mike Vick, that's a magical place.

11:18Jadakiss:Yeah, there's something in the water. You let him tell us about it? Yeah. I mean, you know, there's something in the water besides opioids. There's something in the water. You know what I'm saying? It's just, we got a lot of athletes and just sick, just sick talent. I was kind of a sheltered kid. You feel me? So I was a church boy growing up, you know, apostolic upbringing, whatever. So I was always messing with people in the church. I didn't think that it was. I was just I thought I was just being funny. I didn't know that people really had crippling drug addictions. I know that you feel me like there was this one sister in the church and she passed away now, Sister Wilma.

11:52Jadakiss:But she used to do this thing in church and her head go back like this. So I'd be looking at it and I just go like this. And she'd be like, you better better watch it. And I didn't know that, you know, she was on drugs. but I was just doing an impersonation. And I got older, I said, God dang, that's what that was? I said, it's true. And I always used to impersonate everybody. You know what I'm saying? And I used to perform for my cousins, for people, for church members and stuff. I was just a little, I was a butthole, man. You know what I'm saying? No glizzy. I was a butthole. You know what I'm saying?

12:20Jadakiss:No glizzy. God damn, you better say that for the people in the back.

12:26Jay Pharaoh:You was a butthole, no glizzy. Let me tell you something, though. Oh, they'll never forget that. Yeah, absolutely. You already know when it's a real moment. You need a real bottle. That's why we rock with 1800 Tequila. These people been making tequila for 11 generations. That's a legacy. That's the OG status. They were the first to introduce Anejo. Set the standard before most of these brands even existed.

12:54Fat Joe:And you can taste the difference for real. The 1800 Cristiano and Raspisado is what we've been on lately. Smooth, clean, elevated. No rough edges, just a premium pour that speaks for itself. You know when something is just built right? That's what this is.

13:14Jay Pharaoh:Real talk. That's just what it is. It's always around for the best nights, the wins, the celebrations. Then remember that night's stories.

13:23Fat Joe:Whether you're keeping it low key with the crew or you pull up to something big. 1800 fits every setting. It ain't trying too hard. It's just as that.

13:36Jay Pharaoh:1800 tequila. Real legacy. Real smooth. That's the move. You know, they'll never forget that because it's like, you know, when I tell stories about me getting bullied and all that. You got bullied? Every big time. Really? Yeah, I used to get beat up every day by 20 guys. But the point is... There's always guys. That's so crazy. What do you think? I got beat up by a girl before. I'm not bullshit. I wouldn't hit back. Like a young MA or like a... No, not a young MA. Just a big chick from my projects. And she told everybody. Probably to this day. She lied. She beat up fat, Joe. But I'm not going to hit a girl back.

14:13Jay Pharaoh:And she was just hooking on me. Joe. She told everybody she fucked fat. I'll fuck you up again, man. I was like, yeah, all right.

14:23Jadakiss:Joe, I'm going to let you know something. That wasn't a woman. She had a glizzy. That wasn't a woman.

14:31Jadakiss:But also, too, I grew up in the attitude era of WWE when The Rock was like, it was electric. So I used to do everything like The Rock, and he would talk smack. You know what I mean? My mother's from Brooklyn, too, Best. She's from Best Eye, if y 'all didn't know. And I've been coming up here, man, since I was five years old and staying in the summer. and everything. But back to what I was talking about. I used to impersonate The Rock so much that I did it in church. And it was this deacon. His name was Brother Randolph. Shout out to Brother Randolph. You know what I mean? Had a jerry curl, a cock eye, you know, a twinkle eye.

15:07Jadakiss:His eyes would be swimming all over the place, right? He got that peripheral view. Yeah, he could see you. He had the panoramic view. He could see everything.

15:18Jay Pharaoh:He got that shit like this. I'm watching you. He do the Bill Cosby coming out of court without doing it. That nigga, I like.

15:27Jadakiss:That nigga told me. Coming out of court. He told me one day, I'll watch you. I said, I know, nigga. You watching. You're watching everybody. No, no, we under the bill. Yeah. Full security, but I told him. I said, one day, I walked up to him like the rock. I said, here's what the rock's gonna do, jabroni. The rock is gonna take your Bible. He's gonna dust it off, turn it sideways, and stick it straight up, you're candy yams. He said, what did you say? I said, candy yams. He told my mother I said ass and then I couldn't watch wrestling for six months. Yeah, dog, that's what happened. And I didn't do it, you know, because I wasn't going to take the Bible and flip it and turn it up and put it up behind.

16:03Jadakiss:But at the same time, you know, I was the rock. But, you know, I was that kid that was always causing mishaps. But it was just an energy. I just liked to be liked. That's what it was.

16:16Jay Pharaoh:You know, it seems like for us, Saturday nights live, we're already shaking our ass in the clubs, right? But for white people, it feels like they're at home watching Saturday Night Live. Like that's club live for them every Saturday. Yeah, absolutely. Even Trump will come out and be like, hey, God talked about me today. Like it's a big fucking deal. Yeah. Right?

16:42Jadakiss:What was that like knowing the whole entire country is watching you? I mean, yo, I'm a 22-year-old at the time. I just got the job and the pressure was on, but I had done theater. I was used to the stage. I had been on the road with Charlie Murphy for three years. So, you know, shout out to him. Rest in peace. That was my uncle. You know what I mean? And it was a lot of pressure, but I was just having fun. And when I would kill, people were like, you killed. I'd be like, yeah, and that's what you're supposed to do? So it was like I was already conditioned for that. But when they knocked my confidence down a little bit and they started pulling my sketches, it kind of messed with me a little bit.

17:21Jadakiss:You know, I got into my head a bit. Like, maybe I'm not good enough, whatever. And I think I had to rise above that. And I did in the next couple of years and kind of started dominating. They gave me Obama. When I started doing that, it was kind of, that was a lot of pressure, but I got through it. And I think it was a classic. part of the show. You know what I mean?

17:46Jay Pharaoh:You know that's what it's all about. That's crazy. I did a... I don't know if I'm supposed to talk like this, but I did a deposition and a lawsuit the other day. And the man started breaking down when yo, you had a hit this year, but you ain't have a hit for five years at this time. And then you had a hit. And I'm like, yo, my man, like, what the fuck? Did you ever make a hit in your life? Do you know artists go through different chains. Sometimes, I remember my favorite rapper in the world, LL Cool J, I was always a fan. So even if LL made some shit that was like something like a phenomenon that nobody else fucked with, I fucked with it and understood it.

18:28Jay Pharaoh:But you know, he has albums where he was the hottest guy in the universe that he puts out an album where it's alright. Then he comes back with that. I think that's the journey of everybody, every artist. And, you know, some people just think you just wake up and make a hit or you wake up and you're the funniest guy in the world. I just think we got to go through different changes of learning ourselves and staying committed to the craft. Because sometimes you got to work through that shit.

18:59Jadakiss:That's not a... Like, yo, Michael Jordan got cut at first and he became the greatest. You know what I'm saying?

19:06Jay Pharaoh:I never heard that story.

19:08Jadakiss:High school. Yeah. He got cut. He got cut what? He got cut in the high school team. He didn't make it.

19:14Jay Pharaoh:Biggest loser in the world. He's in Chattanooga somewhere. Where's the guy who cut him in the high school team? He... Look how much it was on Mike's mind. He shot at him in the

19:25Fat Joe:Hall of Fame speech. That coach that cut me. Still.

19:31Jay Pharaoh:Let me tell you something. My brother Rich played. He coached 24 kids that went to the NFL. No bullshit. Even Coach Malachi, who's number one on Miami. Let me tell you something. There's this one kid, right? And he told me this story. He was like, y 'all, the guy was soft. He wasn't going nowhere. This, this, that. His parents used to argue with me like, yo, coach, put him in the game. So Rich thought he was whack. That draft night came. That boy got drafted 18 years later. He called Rich number. Coach Rich, yo, what's up? It's such and such. Yo, man, you said I'll never get to the NFL. Thank you, man, for making me tough, man.

20:12Jay Pharaoh:I'm in the NFL, man. Thank you, Coach Rich. Rich hung up the phone. I said, you motherfucker, you tell me that story about that kid all the time. He made it to the fucking NFL. I mean, you know, what's for you

20:24Jadakiss:is for you. You know what I'm saying? Look, there have been, when I was in school, there was many times. I started in high school doing comedy. Many people, like, how you gonna be a comedian? You can do voices, but you ain't making me laugh. I said, okay, nigga, watch. I just said, watch. And I kept going. And now they follow me on Facebook. Now they my friends and stuff. They was cool with me. She wasn't with me shooting in the gym. You wasn't with me shooting in the gym. You know what I'm saying? But you need that. When you can change people's perception like that, that's when it really counts.

20:55Jadakiss:And it means more to you. And then when you get the accolades and then the world gives you the acknowledgement, it's just that much sweeter, man. You know, I didn't, I wasn't the best impressionist at first. I mean, I sat in my car. I would listen to tapes back and forth. I would listen to Jay-Z until I sonically got that sonically. You couldn't, you couldn't tell the difference. I would listen to, I would be in the car listening to Cassidy and all this. I would listen to this stuff, man. So I worked and I kept going. And I said, I got to make it out of Virginia because a lot of people get stuck there.

21:28Jadakiss:It's a military town. You can get a family quick, and then you can get knocked off your pass, you know? So I didn't get knocked off my pass. Salute 757, baby, because we did it.

21:38Jay Pharaoh:Bad news, VA. Bad news. Yo, the mustache. You from Virginia? I'm from Bad News, Virginia. He said, you from Newport News?

21:46Fat Joe:I'm from Newport News, yeah. Get the fuck out of here. I went to Mike Fick's High School.

21:49Jay Pharaoh:Allen Robinson would have shaved that fucking mustache. You know, we got beat up in bad news. You know, your man AI never admits to that. We got beat up in bad news. He was up, eh? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to beat up. Yeah, they got his birthday party. We went down there for his birthday party, wanted to fight in the whole fucking club. The whole club. Everybody who cheered us when we came in, when we pulled up in the Rolls Royce, they were like, Ali, boom, bye, yay, boy, running behind it. Next thing I know, they throwing bottles at us on the way out. Get the fuck out of here, bro. Nah, that's a tough town.

22:25Jadakiss:It's bad news, brother. Let's call it bad news for a reason. Yo, it's bad news, V8. That's a fucking tough town. Yeah, me mustache nose, I guess, nigga. I ain't never seen nobody prove it.

22:36Jay Pharaoh:Your mustache, you know you get shit caught in your mustache and all that, right? Like, when you eat, when you got a comb for your shit. I do. You know it. Come over and let them see your mustache. Come here. Because this guy. My friend, Pierre. My friend, Pierre. From Newport. I never let you.

22:58Jadakiss:Yo, look at the mustache. He put S-curl in his mustache. That's crazy, bro. Look at that. He look like every villain ever. That nigga go get his shit permed. Yeah, nigga. Yeah, you look like Charlie Chaplin, nigga.

23:17Jay Pharaoh:You said you look like a throwback. Raleigh Fingers. Raleigh Fingers. The white and black TV. That's a pull right there.

23:26Jadakiss:Raleigh Fingers was the shit. He laughed with subtitles, nigga. H-A, H-A, H-A. That was so funny.

23:36Jay Pharaoh:You want to know what's crazy is I used to watch these crime, I think, what was the series? It was the first 48 or something, but every time they showed like New Orleans or the South, they were talking English and they were throwing like subtitles on their shit. You know what I mean? New Orleans, and they throwing the fucking shit on the subtitles, like, the English shit, like, if it was another language, I'm like, what the fuck they got the subtitles on the shit for?

24:02Jadakiss:Yeah, cause you can't understand what they be saying, what they, what I'm called, what they, what they, what they, and all that, baby. What's up, baby? You be like, nigga, what did you say? I said, what up, baby? What up, baby? And then, how you doing? I thought I was talking. I spent, I was down there shooting a movie before COVID, a movie called All My Life I Did, and it was this, it was this little Louisiana dude, he was like, we had to call the waters out there for about five cents and everything. I said, nigga, I don't know what is going on. That's the South, though, man. They don't say points.

24:36Jadakiss:They say perints. Perints. They say perints. Perints. Perints. For points. For points. Perints. Just like Memphis. That's why they... What's that dude that went viral? What's his name? Was it Finesse Two Toms? Yeah. I ate noodles with no packing. You ate cereal with the canned myrrh. The powder myrrh. No myrrh. Waffles. No syrup. Jelly. No jelly. No bread. No jelly. Jelly no bread. I'm like, what? That's jam, nigga. Jelly no bread.

25:17Jay Pharaoh:Jelly no bread, right? If you go cereal, no milk. He said he had waffles, no syrup. When it was no syrup, he had jelly on the waffle. Oh, that's what he said. Yeah, that's... No jelly on the waffle. Jelly on the waffles still sound good. I mean, nah.

25:36Jadakiss:That sounds like you damn bad.

25:37Jay Pharaoh:Jelly on the waffle. Jelly on the waffle. It'll fight me all right. Nah, I'm going to give you the buck with you. Like, for a fat guy, that shit might have been a good experiment. I ain't tried that one. that's the jelly on the waffle is popping. What the fuck you talking about?

25:53Jadakiss:I'm a reformed fat kid, so I feel you, bro. You used to be fat? Yeah, I was a fat kid. I was bullied, too. You know what I'm saying? Like you. They used to play with my breasts. You know what they do. I ain't never do that to me. Oh, man. Oh, no, they do that to me. Hey, Joe, that's...

26:09Jay Pharaoh:Oh, no, they beat me up. They ain't do, they ain't grab my... Get the fuck out of here. Are you nuts? That's fat assault, Joe. that's assault right now. No, I'm telling you right now they play with your titties, man. That's a... That's where shoot is about. That would have been the first shooting massacre ever. That's a clap. I came back the next day with looking like Jeffrey Dahmer in this bitch or something. Like, you crazy? Yeah. They ain't violate me like that.

26:41Jadakiss:Yeah. It's messed up that was my father. But that's besides the point. Yo. You know what I'm saying? Nah, he did it too. Everybody did it. It was a thing. You never seen somebody do it. And then poke your stomach, call you Pillsbury,

26:53Jay Pharaoh:woo-hoo, and all that. That's cool. I'm telling you, I'm killing everybody. They play with me like that, I'm killing everything. I'm not. I'm not playing. Killing everything.

27:04Fat Joe:If they touch your nipples.

27:05Jay Pharaoh:Let me tell you. Yo, listen, you want the most pause ever? Listen, I always say to myself, I've been through depression. I've been through the roughest times of my life. I never once felt like killing myself. Getting locked up with it. Never once said, I do not believe I'm capable of suicide. If I went to jail, some guys raped me, don't worry about it. Don't worry. I'm killing myself. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Oh, no, no, no. I'm not even getting revenge. I'm killing myself. I can't do it. Nah. Imagine playing with your titties. Come on. Nah,

27:46Jadakiss:you're not there.

27:47Jay Pharaoh:Yo, that shit crazy. Six seven? You're six seven. Niggas doing the six seven. I can't live. That shit be like the movie I'll pay the full. Anybody ever talk to me for this? Anybody ever said anything? They gotta go. Like, yo. They did, B. They did this crazy.

30:24Jay Pharaoh:frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections and it's like okay yo yo yo is this indulgent and I really thought about it I was like no at this point it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I

30:39Fat Joe:don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me. And I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. 33:02Jay Pharaoh:But, you know, I'm a reformed fat guy, too. You know, I'm not so fat, Joe.

33:07Jadakiss:Yeah, you fat. Yeah, you, hey, at one point when I was watching you and Pun, man, y 'all niggas, y 'all was half off. That was crazy. Yo. Y 'all niggas was. What? Half off. I said, wow, these niggas, he ain't even Fat Joe no more. This nigga is Husky Joe. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Remember the Husky section? Remember that? And Mark Lumory Ward. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, I used to go,

33:33Jay Pharaoh:a friend of mine, he was another fat guy. My man, Chef Mark. Yeah. And Chef Mark would come with me to Manhattan and we just, people watch.

33:43Jadakiss:Yeah.

33:43Jay Pharaoh:And he'd be like, yo, Joe, you know this ain't no old fat people. We fat. Like, we the real fat Joe, the real shit, boy. He was like, yo, it ain't no old fat people. He said, and we only 20 years old. He's like, you know, you die young fat. And I'm like, what do you mean? He said, it ain't no old fat people. We looking at thousands of people with Manhattan, Sixth Avenue. And I was just like, yo, at some point, we got to reverse this shit. We got to turn it around.

34:09Jadakiss:You know what I'm saying? Because, you know. Nigga, I had stretch marks on my eyeballs. It was crazy back in the back. It was wild, man. It's a fat kid, man. And look, man, it's hard. You know, it's hard fitting in a school when you shape like your sister. You know what I'm saying? It's real hard. You know what I'm saying? Let me tell you something, man. Yo. Fat Joey.

34:27Jay Pharaoh:You know, I was Fat Joey since I was born. Nah. That's Fat Joey since I'm two years. The first thing I ever heard somebody calling me was, Hey, Fat Joey. And since I was a fucking baby. Were you a big baby? Like you just. Yeah, I was a big. I was like one of the wrestlers used to impersonate. I live in the hood and I have blonde hair and green eyes and my whole hood is black. And I remember I used to go to Bodega and the man be like, what the fuck is this kid doing in this neighborhood?

35:00Jadakiss:And they would always, fat Joey, fat Joey. You was the first gentrified of your neighborhood.

35:05Jay Pharaoh:No, I'm fucking gentrified. I'm from the neighborhood, motherfucker. I'm saying like, the streets know me. These streets know me a hundred gigs. That shit crazy, man. But yeah. Yeah, that shit crazy. Fat Joey since I was born. So I guess I never felt like there was no way to offend me with fat jokes ever because I was Fat Joey since I was born. You can't come here and be like, you know, in our building, we got a thousand families. We got 145 families. Everybody got 10 kids. They in front of the building at 6 in the morning. talk about your mother, your dick that everybody got with you. This is a straight...

35:49Jay Pharaoh:Your mother got no teeth. Your mother's jabbled your heart. Your sister's a whore like this every day. To six in the morning in front of the projects. This is where we grew up at. So you even get a sense of humor.

36:06Jadakiss:Or your ass is out. Nah, that wasn't me. I was not. I was sensitive. I ain't care. I was a sensitive little nigga. you would say stuff about me, I'd be like, man, leave me alone. You know what I mean? Nigga was trying to fit in. So I was a sensitive. I was a sensitive nigga. I grew out of it. You know what I'm saying? You know. But I was sensitive to a little nigga. You know what I'm saying? You know this comedy thing, right?

36:28Jay Pharaoh:People don't realize how big comedy is. So I follow like Russell Peters and I watch him doing stadiums. We did Family Feud, Celebrity Family Feud we went up against Fuzzy, the fat Mexican guy. He sold out Dodgers Stadium. These comedians, you talking about doing shit? They doing shit. And everybody needs a laugh no matter what it is, what the temperature is out there. I noticed that comedians, you guys, once you get it going, I know it's a lot of struggle comedians. There's a lot of comedians out there right now hungry. It's fucked.

37:09Jadakiss:But if you make it, the success is... Well, listen, man. It was written in the books. And let me go back to being sensitive. Let me go back to being sensitive as a fat kid for one second. You know what I mean? Because nigga told me that I was so fat, I sweat chicken grease. I said, nigga, what? You ever had somebody say something to you, it was brilliant, and it hurts you, but it was brilliant, so you had to be like, yeah, my nigga, that was a good one. Yeah! I had to tell the nigga it was a good one. You know what I'm saying? Same thing. I got on Gilly the Kids. I got on Gilly the Kids Live. Shout out to Gil.

37:45Jadakiss:That's my dude. I got on this live and my hair was falling out at the time. Crazy. You know, I got money. I'm good, you know. But I got up there and the top was coming out and I wasn't wearing my helmet. That's what happened. You know, I have the helmet to get the electricity to your head. You know, you wake up your follicles and I wasn't using it. And somebody said, take your hat off. And I did. And the little nigga, kids are assholes. Little nigga said, pull up to the scene with my ceiling missing. I said, I ain't never doing this shit ever again. I don't know. I said, let me go ahead and put this joint back on.

38:19Jadakiss:So, you know, I've learned how to have, I learned how as older to have tougher skin. And you have to as a comedian. You know what I'm saying? Because then you can get to the level where you are at the stadiums, like Kevin Hart, Fluffy, yeah, like with Joe Coy. Joe Coy guy. He got to follow him. Russell Peters, absolutely, man. And I've watched these guys build it from the ground. Matt Reif, same thing. Same thing. Over the pandemic, he just kept going. And then it just worked out for him. But you have to be consistent. You can't be lazy in the game. Or you're just going to stay in the same place.

38:54Jay Pharaoh:You can't be lazy in no game.

38:56Jadakiss:Nah.

38:56Jay Pharaoh:So at the end of the day, it doesn't allow you to be lazy. And you know, shout out to Khaled, DJ Khaled. But I remember even after Khaled blew up, he started on the radio. That motherfucker could have had COVID, pneumonia. He would go. And I'd be like, yo, Kelly, you sick? Stay home. He'd be like, fuck that. Somebody ready to take my slot. He like, yo, the minute I don't come in, somebody coming right in, and they're going to do a better job than me and take my slot. And so you almost, even once you get to a level, you got to protect that slot. Absolutely. Yes? It's like, you got to protect that slot.

39:36Jay Pharaoh:That shit. That shit ain't got your team. What's up, Alavid? You ain't get them sneakers yet. That's your guy. Why you looking at me? Fuck you looking at me. Fuck you looking at me. Too tall to do with something. Too tall. I got some New Balance System boomer for you out there. Special package. Great beds and joints. Right there. I'm looking. Come on, everybody. What you do to conga? That's what put your foot up. They gave us some New Balance. some shits is the grease lightnings. Some shits got fire on that shit. You list, son. What are those? FP Jorno. That shit look like Coach Brown shits. Yo.

40:19Jay Pharaoh:Yeah, these are... The Oceans. Yeah, these are Swiss joints. Oh, those are special OC joints? My wife told me she wouldn't talk to me again if I wore them shits because that officially you give in to. I'm old. Because those are the most comfortable sneakers in the technically they're the most comfortable I'm going to take it down now you're looking like a nurse you're looking like a fucking nurse you're looking like a podiatrist I'm going to go ahead

40:49Jadakiss:take this down

40:50Jay Pharaoh:he pulled out the nursing he tried to start with the nursing shit man you lucky he ain't got his loafers on right now he done battled them shit hey we doing if you had your loafers two times we done battled them shit

41:05Jadakiss:We doing bad at VA right now. Him with the mustache and the damn shoes. We ain't good.

41:12Jay Pharaoh:Ladies, how y 'all let your man come out with the fucking nursing shoes, the bowling shoes right there?

41:17Jadakiss:Hey, listen, because your boy flat-footed.

41:19Jay Pharaoh:I was going to do it. Tell you something. I was going to do it one day because I know for a fact those are the most comfortable sneakers out.

41:29Jadakiss:Yeah.

41:29Jay Pharaoh:And my wife said, I ain't fucking with you. You wear them shits. like that's like moving to the middle of nowhere. Hey, giving up. You ever seen them towns, beautiful towns where you pass by, you drive by and you say, yo, this shit is amazing but you say people just come here to die. Like West Palm Beach? What they table tennis center or something? What the fuck they doing there? You ever drove past them towns where you be like, what are these people doing? There's not even a fucking bar around here.

42:01Jadakiss:I think there's a state.

42:03Jay Pharaoh:They just think they want to die.

42:04Jadakiss:No, there's a state called North Dakota. Yeah, like that. Yeah. Everybody just ready to. They just go to die. Like, they just go to die.

42:12Jay Pharaoh:They've been reading pamphlets all in life, North Dakota, and then they retire and they'll be like, all right, we're going to North Dakota. I was surprised. We went to Alaska. Not Alaska. We had a show. Was it Alaska? Some shit, but the people were very nice. What was that? Alaska? How should I know? I wasn't there. Me, Bow Wow, Rick Ross, and your man. Man, one of my dream guests. Somebody tell Kelly, you're Soulja Boy.

42:43Jadakiss:That's a wild tripling right there. What? You, Bow Wow, and Rick Ross. Y 'all were doing the show. And Soulja Boy. And Soulja Boy.

42:55Jay Pharaoh:How about I went to the steakhouse and they treated us? They were good, beautiful people. is what I'm trying to tell you. The nicest people in the world like the time somebody treated us.

43:05Jadakiss:Anchorage? Was it Anchorage? Anchorage. Yeah, yeah. Anchorage. Never been there. Studied about it. Never been there. No, no. Nice people. And the sun stay out all the time. He knew where it was at. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Never been there. Yeah, never been there. I hear about things. I never been there either. You know, when you got nurse shoes on, they tell you stuff, man. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. They trust you. They trust you with their secrets. You know what I'm saying? That's like a born-again killer. You got them serial killer shoes on, bro. I'm a silent killer, baby. He got the born-again killer shit.

43:38Jadakiss:It'll line up. It'll line up, brother. DJ with Rick Ross, Bow Wow,

43:46Jay Pharaoh:and Ricky Rose.

43:49Jadakiss:Ricky, Rose, me, Fat Joe, chilling, having steak, chilling at Anchorage with white Alaskan women, but he can't touch. He can't touch because his wife would kill him. So I'll have all the coaching. Boss. Yeah, nigga. Boss. Boss. Boss, nigga. Boss. Boss. I did an impression of him. He hit me up. He said, yeah, I might think about it. It was about Rick Ross' furniture store. I did a skip. It's just a joint for my Instagram. I have all the furniture here, but you can't afford it. It's just for you to see because none of you niggas are in the tax bracket that I live. You was with the white boys. Nigga.

44:34Jadakiss:You know what I'm saying? So anyway, nigga hit me up. He might do it. Rick Ross's furniture store. He said, that's a good idea, nigga. I might have to do that. I said, yeah, nigga, you know, just give me a little bit percentage, you know. Come in and do it. You know, fun stuff.

44:48Jay Pharaoh:I personally, I personally have never seen a hostile like Rick Rose. Oh, my gosh. Personally. Snigger got oxygen. Rick Rose to do a show in Africa, a show in Dubai, where I know the numbers. He's getting big numbers, hundreds of thousands. And the next day, he's at a barn in Memphis, Tennessee, hosting it. I've never seen it. He won't turn a dollar down. I've never seen it. And I work hard, and I'll be looking at him. I'll be like, damn, bro. I just ain't. I didn't need to be 10 years younger to compete with Rick Ross. And then he throws a, you know, he buys the house from a van to Holyfield, which is foreclosure or something.

45:35Jay Pharaoh:And you like, damn, you sure you want to get in that Ross? And he turns it into, he throws an event there every year that pays for the, he already paid the house off with an event, a car show. Like, I never seen one. Like, I don't want people in my house. I don't no really I love everybody God bless everybody I don't I see my neighbors I'm pleasant I don't talk more than one minute it's a good couple across the street two Indian people he look like he wear them shoes too he look like he look like a doctor but they walk through and I'm nice to them they older than us but other than that I'm social everywhere I go, but I'm anti-social in my house.

46:23Jay Pharaoh:But Rick Ross would take 10 ,000 motherfuckers and put them in his house. Strangers. Yeah. You know, he had a ship like two years ago and found people there three, four days later on the other side of the ship. His house is that fucking big, bro.

46:38Jadakiss:That's crazy. That's crazy.

46:40Jay Pharaoh:But he found a way, you know, he's a big hustler, man. Salute Ross.

46:44Jadakiss:And I'm telling you, he got cattle. This nigga got oxen. My oxen. Nigga, what? You have oxen? You got a whole bunch of animals, man. Him and Cat Williams, they got a whole bunch of animals. You know what I'm saying? Cat bought a bunch of land too. Cat got a whole farm, bro. It's like a whole... He just got land. What you need to do, boo-boo, you need to learn how to take care of chickens, take care of cows, take care of livestock because the world is about to end, boo-boo. That's what's going to happen. Real stuff, you know? Yeah. Yeah, nigga. Well, I'm sorry. You know, it's me. You know, I do the voice, the Cat Williams.

47:23Jadakiss:We did a movie together. You see it? I'm not sure if I saw it.

47:27Jay Pharaoh:What's the name of the movie? It's called Two Minutes to Fame. You see, that shit flew right by me, man. Them two minutes. I technically get to see them shits like that. But yo, Cat Williams, he's hilarious too. You ever went through, I think right now, I just thought of that Outkast line where he said, My favorite rappers wasn't bringing it. This, this, that. You ever went through a time where some comedian you really love, just like, it wasn't that hot no more for... And you was like, damn. I can't say not hot, but just not working as much as they were.

48:07Jadakiss:And I think this is a ubiquitous feeling. Like, everybody wants Eddie Murphy to return to stand-up. Everybody. Because he's just that good, you know? Well, you think he'll be good now, 2026? Absolutely. Yeah, you think so? And yo, 2015, he got the Mark Twain. He got the Mark Twain Award. Yes. And he got up there and he did a bit and he killed. Eddie is connected. Eddie is watching everything. And I would hope one day that he would come back because, you know, he's only put out two specials. And he is arguably the biggest comedian ever.

48:39Jay Pharaoh:That's the problem. The problem is when you put out two ill Maddox, you don't want to come back all these years later and stink up the place. So I'm sure he's very conscious of like, if I come back that like, you know what Eddie Murphy's role was? I went, I always tell a story on the show. I went to the fucking shit with a hundred guys from my projects. Out of all a hundred guys, I'm the motherfucker got thrown out the movie theater.

49:03Jadakiss:And you were laughing so hard.

49:05Jay Pharaoh:So fucking hard. Do you know how hilarious that fucking shit, they threw me out. I was the asshole in the movie

49:12Jadakiss:theater. But let me ask you a question though. You think that You think Raw is better than Delirious? Because Delirious had everything in it. No, no, they all...

49:22Jay Pharaoh:What's the one with the red leather suit? That's Delirious. Oh, yeah. Delirious was just out of control.

49:27Jadakiss:Yeah.

49:27Jay Pharaoh:The one where he was talking about Rocky, the white boy at the... No, that was Raw when he did that. Yeah, some... Yo, that shit sound pause anyway. Raw and all this shit we talking about now. Get the fuck out of here, Raw. You so Delirious, you raw like... You talked about Glizzy's for seven minutes.

49:49Jay Pharaoh:We never said that Glizzy got stuck in his mustache. We didn't say that.

50:01Jadakiss:Eddie Murphy. And because he couldn't continue just because he passed away, Robin Harris. Robin Harris. I missed. Oh, my gosh, man. That one. Oh, look at him. I look at him. I look at him. Oh, this is a goddamn law. Ain't this a bitch. Look at it. Look at over here. He said, I got a job looking for one. I've been unemployed so long. I forgot what type of work I was looking for. He said, ah. He said, baby. He said, shit, and Pample's a walking at the same time. Yo, Robin Harris, Bernie Mac, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle. They're my top five. Oh, no. Chris. And honest to God. And you can't even say prior because prior inspired everybody.

50:46Jadakiss:Prior is up here. But those five guys, sound like Fat Joe now. Those five guys, those five guys, legendary, legendary. We was in Harlem. There was a polar bear. Strapped with the, with the Arnold Schwarzenegger chop. I'm talking about the big jaw. Yeah. And then it snowed. Like, nigga, no, it didn't happen. Did I not tell you that Tupac's your call? I watched Tupac.

51:17Jay Pharaoh:There you go. I watched Tupac fight an African with a sword. When they used to sell the blue leg tapes. Yeah. I watched Tupac walk on 125th and was snatching all his tapes off his shit. And an African pulled out the sword. You for real? I swear to God. and Tupac beat the shit out of him and took the sword off of him. In the middle of 125th. He chopped his neck off. No, he ain't chopped his neck off. I ain't say that. That's you guys trying to take it to some other shit. I seen him fight a motherfucker to motherfucking pull out a sword. Tupac was on his pan in the mouth.

51:58Jadakiss:Now, all right, okay. Pause. Yeah, pause. Did you see Tupac fight Michael Jackson? Did you ever see that? Because they say that happened. I don't know. I don't know if it was real. I got a scrap with MJ. You scrapped with him?

52:14Jay Pharaoh:You heard that too? That's a bullshit. I know my man, my man, JR, rest in peace. Anyway, I can't say. One of my guys, he's just a nice guy. He had a story. JR Reitinger, he passed away, but he got... Uh-oh, that's the guy. That man said, one day, Mark Anthony was arguing with J-Lo in his house. and he got scrapped with Marquette. That was his... Yo, then he gets J.R. J.R. had a scrapped with Marquette. Yeah, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Thanksgiving, Halloween. He would always come, fucking Marquette, you trying to talk to me. Like, I'm like, yo, my man, you got to sit down. J.R., yeah, he had one of them stories.

52:57Jay Pharaoh:That's pretty... In Puerto Rican community, that's crazy. But you talking about J.R.

53:01Jadakiss:Ryder from Dipset?

53:02Jay Pharaoh:No, Ryder. Okay, cool. I thought you said Roddy. Billionaire. He passed away, man. He's my mentor, man. You know what I'm saying?

53:10Fat Joe:J.R. Ryder would have had a fight with Mark Anthony.

53:15Jadakiss:He would have called the dips up, nigga. J. Wells would have been in the building. Friggin' Cam would have been there, nigga. Everybody would have been there, nigga. I thought you said J.R. Ryder. You said J. Ryder, the billionaire. Okay, cool. Nigga, I'm a fam.

54:03Fat Joe:It's Cal Penn. I'm the host of Earsay, the audible and iHeart audiobook club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's audiobook project Hail Mary, massive sci-fi adventure about survival and science and what happens when you wake up alone very far from Earth. I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections.

54:33Jay Pharaoh:And it's like, OK, yo, yo, yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it.

54:37Fat Joe:I was like, no, at this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that deeply emotionally affected me. And I left it on the mic. That's great. Because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God, I cried at the end. It's like, yeah, dude, me too. Listen to Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts. Your pet is your bestie. Because Dipset got some shit, Man, like, you think they would have did better if they would have put the list, if they would have took it more professional? They could have put some of the, they left out a lot of shit that I was expecting. I think they could have. You was expecting they was going to break? Yeah, it was, when we did the rehearsals, they didn't play a lot of the songs that we thought they was going to play.

57:39Jadakiss:Hey man, you destroyed. Nigga, you killed. My nigga, you causing a distraction. You told them niggas you causing a distraction. shit. I said, yo. And he started rapping. Oh, man. Nigga, y 'all's freestyles, both of y 'all specifically, I've been listening to your high school, 05 mixtapes. And I think it was all on a mixtape I heard y 'all. It was a mixtape going against I think 50 or something. It was like a 50 mixtape and it was a 50 this and oh, no. Okay. Niggas getting, okay, tension. I see knee shaking. Maybe I stop talking about it, nigga. Nah.

58:13Jay Pharaoh:I'm gonna go ahead. Nah, because I'm trying to get in the TV show, man. I want to be in a TV show but y 'all cool and

58:23Jadakiss:we are cool and let me ask you a question though wasn't all of that just propped up for numbers no no no

58:32Jay Pharaoh:this was a physical somebody might have died behind that shit oh man that's why I thank God everybody squashed and everybody walked away good it was just no way you know he's too much of a tough guy we from the same town. I think I'm tough. It was, that shit was sparks flying. Wherever we would have seen each other, it would have been like, do you smell what the rock is cooking? Like, that shit had to go down. Or you couldn't have, you know, you wouldn't be able to have a reputation. If you saw 50 Cent anywhere in New York City and at the time of that beat and Terror Squad and 50 and them, it didn't go down.

59:12Jay Pharaoh:Like, it almost went down at the MTV Awards. It had to go down. If it didn't go down, he would walk away like he's all mouth and fat Joe. It was terrible. It was a terrible situation. Thank God it's peaceful. Everybody gets along. Shout out to Tony Yayo and Uncle They got that real report. You know what I mean?

59:33Jadakiss:Y 'all just is crazy. I'm sorry, bro. I didn't know. No, no.

59:37Jay Pharaoh:It's all good. We family. Everybody's love. But that was a serious situation.

59:43Jadakiss:You know? a kid from the birds it was very entertaining oh no it was y 'all niggas was going at each other that was dope

59:55Jay Pharaoh:until 50 Cent I had never witnessed disrespect, I had never felt nobody in front of me, behind me pause, pause, pause I never I never witnessed disrespect so to me it was like shocking you know it was like yo shocking shout out to A.B. in the building Chris Lighty you know he discovered me and 50 and when he passed away we seen each other at the funeral and that broke the ice and he always wanted us to squash the beef and then that's why we you know squash the beef.

1:00:30Jadakiss:That's beautiful though man.

1:00:32Jay Pharaoh:Yeah yeah yeah.

1:00:33Jadakiss:You know the fact that you can the fact that you can get past your differences no matter how controversial things are and you can get back to the art. That's what it's about.

1:00:42Jay Pharaoh:Nowadays, if you don't get past it, the feds will show you how to stay present in that motherfucker, huh? That motherfucker will put you Rico in one second, huh?

1:00:51Jadakiss:Check on Diddy. Check on Diddy. Is that a curse word here? I can't say that.

1:00:57Jay Pharaoh:I'm just... Look, Kiss, you got the same look. I seen some shit. Yo, Kiss, I seen some shit. They said Diddy's planning this coming home party. That shit is AI, man. That shit is fake. That was AI? Yeah. You think it's fake that Diddy won't throw a party? Diddy want to have a sandwich and hug his kids and sit his ass down when they let him out.

1:01:21Fat Joe:He's going to have a party. Not soon as he get out. He's going to take a bath and get fried chicken and something. He's going to sit down with his little love.

1:01:29Jay Pharaoh:You know he had that soul food sundaes.

1:01:31Jadakiss:He's going to his house to eat all that soul food. But my question is, is he going to have a party or is he going to have a party party?

1:01:47Jadakiss:You got a rap album? Yeah, yeah, for sure. Dropping, man. Actually, it's dropping on... It's May the... Not May. June the... When is Iceman coming? It's June 15th. June 15th is dropping. June 15th, my next single. June 15th?

1:02:04Jay Pharaoh:I thought it was May 15th, the Iceman.

1:02:07Jadakiss:Iceman? 12th. June 12th. My fault. June 12th and my next single is dropping May 15th. That's what it is. What's the name of your album? It's called The Odyssey. Yeah, man. Why The Odyssey? Because the character that I am playing because it's a whole backstory for this character. So he's he was given power to like find another planet and then this planet's like it's a diamond planet so we've got to bring the economy back and he gets all this notoriety and he's got all this power. Man, you got to tell

1:02:39Jay Pharaoh:don't ask it with this album. You're saying we, the normal person got to understand that the Odyssey guy is coming from another planet from this and this and that. They don't even have to. They use drugs to listen to that shit. Well, no, no.

1:02:50Jadakiss:They don't even got to do that because the music and the character is synonymous to who I am because it's like me in another dimension almost because I was young, got a lot of money, figured it out, had a lot of access, but I realized that, you know, that wasn't the most important thing because when you get those things, man, it's not going to fulfill you. The most important thing is having love in your life and having God in your life. That's what it is. And that's what he discovers. So that's what the album is about. And that's the journey of it. You know, this journey of life,

1:03:23Jay Pharaoh:man, is so crazy, right? Because when you come from nothing, you want it. And now, when you get to my age and you look back and you just be like, yo, man, I was just way too young for them to give me all that money. I swear to God. At the time, I felt like King Kong, like, yo, we got it. It just, thank God I never used drugs or abused alcohol or something, because I'd have been underneath some shit right now. Like, it was like this shit, you know, you get all that money if you getting high too, like, that must be out of control. So, with me, I think that's the only thing that saved my life to this day that I wasn't on drugs.

1:04:07Jay Pharaoh:because I'm a very addictive personality. So if I was to gamble, I don't gamble. If I was to gamble, I'd be dead broke. If I was to be getting high, I'd be, forget it. I would have probably smoked the big, I would have went to fucking Antarctica and got the biggest rock and crack you ever seen in your life. I would have been breaking records. Niggas would have been like, yo, Fat Joe got the Iceman's coach in his house. He's smoking. What is it like game show hosting?

1:04:40Jadakiss:What is it like? How do you like that? What's going on, tell us? No, no, no. Game show hosting is cool because you actually, well, you have to think off your dome, of course, and you get a chance to connect with people. And you can't fake that on television. You can see connections. Like, when people are nervous, it is your job as the host, calm them down, make them comfortable. Because, you know, you could be down on my show. You can have three family members that you just lost to the balls for us. they got knocked in the water and then you could be on edge like I don't know if I could come back

1:05:11Jay Pharaoh:you throw some fucking flags at this guy off the dome, three in the water like yo, what's up? you're not on your flag shit today my shit ran out this motherfucker threw like seven flags right now you're usually the king of flags off the dome like dicks in the water like get the fuck pause, pause, hey, hey ain't nobody do that you could lose three family members your butthole would be like, what the fuck? Oh, man. I don't know. When did you say any flags on this? I don't recall. This nigga's a pause machine. I don't recall saying any of that. Yo, this is crazy. If I catch him, if I catch him, he's a pause machine.

1:05:54Jay Pharaoh:Like, this guy, wait till you watch this episode back home, you're going to be like, damn, I missed it. Yeah, we're going to see it.

1:06:00Jadakiss:Yeah, you did a lot of butt talking.

1:06:02Jay Pharaoh:I always... Hey, now I did some glizzy talk, but let me tell you something. I always say, oh, so let me, let me, we did Celebrity Family Feud. Yeah, yeah. The part where you turn around and be like, name how many people in the thing? Yo, it's a thousand people there. Yeah. And you got to think of the, that shit is nervous Nelson. Like you, yo, it's really a fucking audience of 500 ,000 people. and you got to come up with, oh, what do you like in the bathroom? What do you do? That shit is hard, bro. I was up in there like, Sunday.

1:06:44Jay Pharaoh:Chicken. Like, that shit is hard, bro. Now I know what the people, people at home don't realize with them people that, that kind of stress that they going through, like coming up with that, you know, survey says that. Not the one with you, with your family and all, like who gives a fuck? But when you go out there on that dolo mission. Yeah.

1:07:04Jadakiss:That shit crazy. You know what? You would actually like, you would like my show because it's like Family Feud cross a wipeout. If you ever get a chance. We're in our third season now, man. We're doing, we're doing very well. I appreciate everybody for checking it out. You know what I mean? Y 'all do some levy? How can I get on? Now we've expanded it. You can be up there. As a matter of fact, as a matter of fact, all D, like D Block could come on the show, bro. The whole D Block. I'm going to set that up. I'm going to set that up.

1:07:32Jay Pharaoh:I always said that I want to be like Steve Harvey. I tell him in this face. I told him. Are you halfway there, nigga? No, no, no, no. I'm fucked up. I'm more than halfway there.

1:07:44Jadakiss:Talked about my shoes, nigga. I had to say something.

1:07:48Jay Pharaoh:Tell you something. No, no, go, go, go, go, go. I done my rounds, like, shopping the show. How about this, kids? I done my rounds in L.A. shopping the show one time. and so we go to all of them like one is Paramount one is the other you know how you gotta you need permission to get in absolutely how about every single one I went to they had a space there that said Steve Harvey right in the front in every studio one had a Rolls Royce you go to the other one Rolls Royce this motherfucker getting so and this 15 years ago you know how much money Steve Harvey getting so imagine you go to Def Jam this one that one that one everywhere you go the motherfucker got the front office.

1:08:31Jay Pharaoh:Where you going? It's a smart car. That motherfucker getting that bread, man.

1:08:35Jadakiss:He's got like 15. He's got like 15 shows. They're all syndicated. That's what you want to do. The goal is to get to 100 episodes so it can... Hello!

1:08:52Jadakiss:Get to 100 episodes and then you're just... You're good, bro. You know what I mean? And it's all about that syndication. Get the syndication money. He talked... That's my uncle right there. Steve Harvey is my uncle. I can call him up, talk to him. Hey, boy, this is what you need to do, boy. This is what you need to do, boy. You got to get your business lined up and you make sure you bury your money, boy. Don't let these white people take your money now. He said that. Real talk. Real talk. But he's so successful because he knows how to move, maneuver, and he knows once you do one show, like you're saying, people with sick work ethic, like you were talking about, DJ Khaled, like you were talking about, Rick Ross.

1:09:32Jadakiss:You have that type of mindset. You can do 15 shows. You will keep going. Your whole family will be able to eat for the rest of forever.

1:09:41Jay Pharaoh:You know what's crazy is I met Steve Harvey for the first time in Abu Dhabi preseason, and I told him. I said, so he's like, yo, I love your podcast. He said, you and Kiss the Gentleman. I said, yo, I want to be like you. I seen his eyes. his eyes opened up. He couldn't believe maybe another man was telling him some shit. I said, yo, man, I want to be like you, man. You successful, man. You the guy that I want to be like. And I seen him. He was taking like, oh, shit. I guess everybody, people hold shit in. I'll tell you the truth. Like, fuck it, man. You are the prototype. I don't give a fuck.

1:10:24Jay Pharaoh:Yo, listen. I heard we have music.

1:10:28Jadakiss:Odyssey off the Odyssey project. You got something? Absolutely. I've been rapping longer than I've been doing comedy, so it just happened to... Comedy was just a thing that popped first. I used to battle. I did all of that stuff. So I'm telling you.

1:10:40Jay Pharaoh:Shout out to my brother, Shaw, because he reminded me of me and Shaw when he was in junior high. He liked Dana Dane. I liked Slick Rick. Always argue every day going on the bus to school, like, yo, Slick Rick is better than Dana Dane. He'd be like, yo, Dana Dane, Slick. That's the fun hip-hop shits You know what I'm saying? Yo, which one we playing, James?

There's a difference between liking a house and actually getting it. Redfin is built to make up that difference and close the gap between finding and owning the home for you.

1:19:06Fat Joe:Redfin agents close twice as many deals as other agents. So when you find a home you love, you're not a step behind when it comes to making an offer. That means less watching great homes disappear and more focus on the one you'll call home. Redfin helps turn saved listings into real addresses. Get started at redfin.com. Own the dream. Ever wonder how to make hosting look effortless? Here's a secret. Getting ahead of the mess with new Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper. Just lightly wet the counter beforehand so the paper grips and stays in place. Then lay down the Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper so drips and spills stay on the paper, not all over your kitchen counter.

1:19:49Fat Joe:You can roll out dough, prep a party spread, or cook alongside family. When you're done, cleanup is as simple as lifting the paper and revealing that clean counter underneath. Effortless. You can use it for cooking and baking prep, and even crafting, especially when you need extra working space. Because when the mess is already handled, you can focus on what matters, the food, the people, and the moment. It may look effortless, but now you know it's Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper. Take a tip from me. Wet it. Set it. Prep it. Done. Make it easy. Make it with Reynolds Kitchen's countertop prep paper.

1:20:33Fat Joe:Available now in the Reynolds Wrap Aisle in Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Costco. M &M's popped caramel do sound different. Oh no, people are going to be obsessed. What do you mean? People hate the sound of chewing. Maybe they won't like the crunch. Maybe we're saved. Wait a minute. Yellow. Have you been eating them this whole time? Mmm, so tasty. Hands off us. M &M's Popped Caramel. It's more fun together.
