In short
Kevin Hart guest-checks Fat Joe’s stories, discusses his Netflix hard-R comedy 72 Hours (dropping July 24), and reflects on Jay-Z’s historic Yankee Stadium shows and the Roc Nation branding moment. He also talks work ethic, family baggage, and roast-comedy boundaries.
Guests/backgrounds
Kevin Hart (comedian/actor, Philly upbringing, workaholic; discusses his family history and father’s struggles). Fat Joe (rapper; tells stories about growing up in projects and family moving to Miami). Joe and Jada (podcast hosts, running “Joe and Jada Show,” plus Fanatic Fest mentions). Additional mentions: Marcelo, Cam Patterson, Ben, Mason, and SNL talent in 72 Hours; Tyler Perry and other celebrities at Yankee Stadium.
Key claims
Hart says he “never embellishes” and will fact-check stories; he describes 72 Hours as grounded and about an older ad-salesman joining a bachelor party to connect with younger influencers; he claims Yankee Stadium allowed Roc Nation flags up top, which he calls legacy and a business “dent” others can’t replicate; he argues roasts are a chosen, niche culture with jokes that may be distasteful but fit the format.
Notable examples
Hart recounts a childhood memory of his dad being beaten/jumped; he describes his parents refusing to leave Philadelphia projects until a Miami move; he cites Jay-Z’s three-night album performance and fans waiting through a delay/casualty; he references the “Rock Nation flags” wrapped around Yankee Stadium’s top.

It's an honor to come sit on the Joe and Jada podcast, man. Appreciate that. You're crushing it. You know, you was one of the early ones. This is only like five, ten episodes in. I seen you at a fight. And the man just turned around and said, I told you about that two minutes later he turned back around he said you're some funny you funny motherfucker I was very honest I said Joe crack don't fuck this up like crack you people don't know you're funny people don't know they don't know crack is funny they don't know the storytelling they don't know they don't know kiss is funny kiss has been funny by the way I had to catch that.
24It's not like it's new. The niggas that know, no, but they don't, the audience don't know. That's a fact. I said, don't fuck this up. Y 'all niggas are different. He'll tell you, I told him about the fight. Told me immediately. I said, it's different. Let me tell you something. You know when they say, don't let that go over your head or you get that on the way home? They motherfuckers kill me every episode. When I watch the episode, I said, what the fuck? They guys shoot me from the side on this motherfucker. Yo. I said this motherfucker I did I caught on too I was like well some of the stories I mean like yeah we're gonna be honest Resh some of the stories I don't know I don't know oh no they real no no I know they real I'm saying crack some of the stories like they go they go some of them they go hard some of them they go hard right a hard right crack like you'll have me crack don't have me you go like no that's what we We had to talk to them niggas.
23We pulled up on them. But when we pulled up on them, I had to flamethrower. Whoa. Crack, what'd you have? I had to flamethrower out the trunk. Because niggas didn't know back then. Back then, I was pulling up on niggas. I was setting niggas on fire back then. By the way, ask Sammy. Sammy was with me. Sammy, he always cracked a lot of names. He always thought of random names. Oh, ask Sammy. Sammy was there. Sammy was a nigga. He's a fan in the show. All right. All right. All right. Do me a favor. Back that instant. Hold on. That just killed y 'all, though. I didn't want it. Sammy was there. Go ahead.
07Sammy was the one with the fire extinguisher. So before I move on, because I'm saying a lot of shit, niggas might not believe me. Sammy had the full fire shit on. he puts a dramatic pause on you he'll stop he'll stop so you register he had it on around the time Steve Stout came with a tennis racket he couldn't believe the guy can go right in yo listen yo Kev yo Kev now to my defense how many times have you heard from opposite people and confirmed. Working on another show with that. Because people come in, it's always somebody that was there. Like, yo, Kiss, you know that story crack. Kiss is in a tough spot.
58He ain't lying. He's in a tough spot. Here's why Kiss is in a tough spot. Kiss, not only is he working with you, but some shit is hitting him where he's like, this is true. Right? But Kiss also sometimes be like, whoa. Right? Oh, yeah. He'll go, whoa. But he sucks. He backs you. He does a good job of backing you. He keeps getting confirmed. I told the man, I'm from Philly. Fifth of the Allegheny. The Badlands. That is the Badlands. That's the Badlands. Confirmed. You know how every local place have a blog or Instagram? Them motherfuckers put that up. Every comment was like, he's from here. I've seen him at the Bodega.
39I've seen him with the Cowboys. I said, what do you want me to do? You want me to lie? They fucked up. They're paying us to talk shit. And this is what we do. And it's true. As a fan of brilliant storytellers, there's nothing better than a good story with confirmations. Even if you get 65 % of a confirmation, that's strong. I got more than that. I'm not saying that that's your number. 65 is a good number. 65 is a good number. To me, let me tell you something. To me, if 10 guys, your security almost ain't let me in. Your security almost ain't let me in my show. Nigga hit me with the boom, right?
24He didn't know. If 10 guys that size walks in here right now, it'll feel like 50 guys. If they're all coming for you. Yeah, yeah. Out of three, three against 10. If it's me and 10 giant guys, it'll feel like 50 guys. So you making it 50? Yes! Okay, that's not... Okay. Okay. Okay. By the way, will you give an honest? That's called honest exaggeration. Okay, go ahead. Is there not 100 fucking baseball bats behind your head right now? No. No, I think 22. I think I'm going solid 22, crack. It's more closer than 22 than the heart. I think I'm going 22 bats behind my head, crack. I think I am. I think I am.
17See, that's the extra sazon you're going. That's the sazon. Now, if niggas take all them bats chasing with all the bats right there, it won't feel like a hundred. Yeah, you're going to say it's a hundred. We're holding bats. We can't understand. I get it. We understand the way you write the script. But the origin is truthful. I grew up in a project building with 1 ,500 people the whole project building, 14 floors everybody had nine kids and what we did the way he knows our names and numbers I've been to a lot of projects Philadelphia, we have projects there's tons of them tons projects it's low-income housing, right?
08We can agree. Definitely. I don't think they're putting 1 ,000 up. Oh, yeah. I don't think it's 1 ,000. I think only Chicago. I think it's all. Only the old Caprini Green. Oh, okay. Yo, guys. Guys. It's 14 floors. Yeah. It's nine apartments. Everybody got nine kids. I counted it one day. I went through the building. Yo. Do my man. Yo. Pull it out. I'm pulling out the calculator right now. I'm going to go, hold on. I'm going to go 14. I'm going to go 14 times 9. That's 126. We're still, we're still 974. Oh, no, no. My building got a thousand motherfuckers. Wait, so wait. You said nine, nine kids.
55A thousand motherfuckers. I'm going to go, I'm going to go. Let me go nine times 14. I'm going to give you another one. Nine apartments and 14. That's how I got to the 126. Well, now you said nine kids. So right now I'm going to do nine kids. Say five kids. Okay. Let's say 14 floors. I understand how you come to your numbers now. I perfectly understand. You get it now? Okay. I'm going to say you're far off, but you're, for story purposes, hundreds of people. Yeah. That's what I want you to miss. No, I'm not going to say that. But that's a problem. You got it as enticing to the story. Brother, I was at a show one time.
34you talking about raccoons with fucking masks on and hoodies. True story. What the fuck? True story. But I understood what you were saying. I used to get attacked. Factual story. I used to get attacked by the raccoons when I moved in Miami in the fucking suburbs. It was fucking raccoons and I'm like banging on the window. The motherfucker ain't scared of nobody. There's a different, you have different types of raccoons. If you get, if you have an incident with a nigger coon, right? I call them nigger coon. A nigger coon. Nigga coons, very finger. They acted with their hands. Nigga coons point at you.
09They, they, niggas coons direct the crew this way. You, I saw a raccoon outside of my house do this to his crew. Yo. Like, come on, like this way. Yo. I'm not making that out. I've seen this. A raccoon is way. I've seen it too. Yo. Waves the niggas on. Yo, bro, every day they came in the garbage. Yes. Yes. Yes. Hold it open. All right. They got thumbs. They got fucking thumbs, bro. The raccoons, nigga. When you get around the raccoons, they come through like they look like they got Scully's on and shit. Very true. And they are not scared. I want to shoot him. I got the Tony Montana gun. See what I'm saying?
54He didn't have a Tony Montana. I did. I did. Yo, Kev, I swear to you. I did. I did. I'm living in the wilderness Plants in Florida Guns illegal I had the big shit with bullets I was Dying to use this shit I had to sit To set a true alert And I got to shooting so fast But the raccoons They not scared of that shit Crack The bullets that are this big are the ones they use Like Afghanistan And all that shit Yes, that's where these are. I don't think you had those. I'm not saying that you didn't have a big... I think the gun you had was a legit... I think you had a motherfucking hammer. I think you had a fucking gun.
42Right? But I just want you to understand these bullets, they're coming out the door that's like... To this day, it's the flyest house I ever built, spent the most money, and it's the fastest I ever moved out. middle of the night I heard animals niggas was like fucking like horses you ever heard animals screaming back up what's up where is it oh Brack you gotta back up you see what I'm saying he said my health I heard the animals and then he said horse you made you you turned the horse into the monkey for a minute You gotta take it. You gotta take it, man. You fucked up. Because let me tell you, I got the microphone.
37I'm going to analyze one of your movies. Yeah, yeah. Or one of your fucking things. And I'm going to go fact check from story to story. I'm going to be like, oh, no, this motherfucker. You know the heart of a generation. I have never embellished about a story that I've told in my life. The only story where people thought I was embellishing that I had to go back and give them the facts was a story about when my dad got jumped. My dad got jumped. This is one of my most vivid memories as a kid. It's the first time I actually, in real time, saw somebody, like, really get their ass to beat it. It wasn't a favor?
11Yeah, but it wasn't a jump. It wasn't really a jump. They beat up my father one time in front of me. Oh, Lord, man. Let me hear this one. My dad is this dude. They're getting into it. My dad is over. It's over-contracting. My dad fucked up He was supposed to lay down Lay down a car A certain way My dad did it his way My dad wanted the money Fuck that, you're not getting this money My dad said, you're going to have to see me The guy says, I guess that's what it is I'm there, I'm a little kid My dad said, can't get in the van I get in the van Got my dad go outside Got to put hands on my dad Hit my dad, four flush shots I'm talking As soon as they say, let's go I'm talking four from the shoulder.
53Boom, boom, boom. I'm turned over. He got hands. They got hands in the belly. My dad said, Kev, go. They jumping me. I swear to God. I said, it's just him, dad. Oh, no. It's just him out there. Yeah. It's not nobody else. Kev, take the van. He told me, go get out. Go get out. Go get out. because they jumping. The guy's friend came out because my dad, he was fucked up. My dad wouldn't get off the property. So then the guy and his friend just threw my dad in the van. My dad was like, we're going back. Dad, get me out of here. I couldn't even drive. My dad was so discombobulated I'm a little kid.
40I'm 12. I can't even drive yet. I had to wait for my dad to shake it off he drove. Later, he wanted to go back and I was like, Dad, I'm just giving you my best opinion. I don't think you should fuck with that guy no more. Right? Like, he did what he was supposed to do. I think the fight should be over. Dad, it was nobody else here. Let it go. My dad took a loss, but it showed me the lesson in that. You don't need to fight everybody. Oh, you know. Yeah. You got to choose wisely. Some people, I think, from a visual perspective, give you the answers and information you need. The guy's shoulders rolled in.
17I've never seen a guy with shoulders this day. I'll tell you a flip side story. You ever seen a nigga whose shoulders is this way and I'm like, eat glass. That motherfucker got eat glass. That motherfucker like... A bugger bends up a body. I'm not fighting that nigga like this. No. No. No thanks. You got to think about that. No, nothing to think about. You got it. You know, my father was a small guy. Yo. I had a big mouth and 30 was tough. and they used to beat the shit out of him. When I was little, he had an eye jammy Christmas, New Year's. They would beat the shit out of him. On the holidays?
58Yo, my father. On the holidays? Christmas, New Year's. A holiday, Black Ivy. A holiday, IJ. My father, one thing I can tell you, my father passed away last year. He kept it real to the last... Yo, my father kept it. My father, real, Nick, He kept it all the way 100, dying in the hospice. He was the same nigga, because you remind me of him a lot. He was like, whatever he's saying. What does that mean? What do you mean by that? He's a stubborn motherfucker. Okay. My father's the same way. So my father would go, if he think it's the truth, he going to say it. Okay. Okay. My father's sisters, okay, would be throwing like sweet 16s for my cousins.
48They would come behind my father's back, his blood, and give my mother the invitation. Be like, please, don't bring your nest up. Oh, no. Don't bring my brother. No. But the kids, we don't want you. We don't want the family. Behind the back, uninvited. That nigga walk in there with his uninvited. That nigga come up in there with a sky blue Tuxedo with ruffles And shit nigga Your mother's a whore Oh no She fucked every They was pounding this nigga out Every sweet 16 My nigga Your family? Yes No it's all his nephews It's all his nephews His brother-in-laws Nigga was coming in there you're a wrong whore and everybody knows it
44I don't know what's going on you don't understand I do keep it too real he kept it like I swear to you in his last moment that he was dying there is nowhere to go that nigga kept it all the way to the end popping mass shit the niggas. He didn't give it your fuck all like this. I'm just looking at him dying, kissing him in his forehead. He was still sending me to hell while he was... Fuck you, Joey. You brought me here. Dad, you're dying, my nigga. Fuck you. You should've... I think we gotta unpack a lot of this, crack, because this is where a lot of the damage is coming from, man. Like, a family...
29A family that's whooping family ass every holiday, shit like that. You're carrying in that baggage, crack. You gotta pay this, man. We don't talk about this enough. It's killing me, man. Yo, the man. Yo, the man was legendary.

Fat Joe was performing New Year's Eve's MTV with J-Lo and they were in the projects and they refused to fucking move. They would not move out of 5B, my nigga. Wow. So I finally, Steve Rifkin tells me, yo, your parents is in the... He said, yo, just go behind my house to Florida and to make... So I made some shit up. They move. I told my mother they want to kill me. You got to come so she can't. No, that's real. It's the only way to get them out.
50That's the only way she would leave. They would not move. Yeah, really. Crackheads. They're looking for you, man. You got to get out. Oh, they're going to kill me if I keep coming back here. They have whatever. They moved there. When they moved there, my whole family, I'm half Cuban. This shit looked like a festival. It was like a million people in the house the first day, second day. All my cousins I see. About a month later, this shit was a cemetery. Nobody in there, no cousin, no arts, no this. So I'm like, Papi, where's everybody at? I told him it's white. sucks dick. Yo. I told him his mother was a whore.
29And I'm like, yo, Poppy, but why? This is why the house was crowded. Yo, Kev, the house was jam-packed. I can't take this. Yo, Kev, the house was packed. 28:22Keeping it real goes wrong. I never got to do the house thing. I never got to buy my mom the house or to do any of that shit. That's the one thing I wish that I would have got to do. Let me tell you something. I never had that. I went through tax problems where they took all my money. Yeah. And the one thing I told them is take it all. You're not taking my mother's house. Yeah. Yeah. My mother's house was a regular house. Half a million dollar house. Yeah. and I would pull up and feel like it was a palace in Dubai. Absolutely. I was so proud sitting there. Absolutely. I bought my own house before I bought my own house.

04See what I'm saying? I felt great. At least your father was a law-abiding citizen, and your mother was smart enough to get the fuck up out of there. These guys want to be in the number spot, the bullshit, playing dominoes, popping shit, starting fights. towards the end he got a pass that's Fred Joe two different upper there that's Fred Joe and Money Man's box don't beat him up towards the last the last 15 years he was niggas you better than to beat him up they're like but when I was young and I couldn't do nothing I watched him fuck my father a lot I'm right there with you I can share that I bought my dad out it's kind of weird like my dad my dad is the parent that didn't really deserve shit.
50Like my dad was the... My dad was recorded by default. My dad didn't really deserve the life that I gave him. Like this nigga. I let my dad get it off. I got my dad a house, got him trucks, my dad a monthly allowance. Wow. But my dad is the parent that shouldn't have got it. He shouldn't have got shit. Mama loves shit. Let me tell you something. One day, I'm in Puerto Rico. so Carmelo Anthony he builds this basketball court for Puerto Rico I'm out there with him and we in the club popping niggas reggae tone whatever he looks at fuck this nigga no reason production for no reason I'm right next to him fuck this motherfucker My dad My mom was a decent woman He looked like these niggas With the long hair Nah He mad at his father for meeting his mother I said bro you wouldn't be here Nah smooth Nigga I can see it now He got my mom was such a nice lady I well got it That was a liquor That was a liquor I know exactly you talking about?
15Puerto Rican rum, Melo. Puerto Rican rum. Had Melo saucy. Melo saucy. He saw the dude with the good hair. He saw the dude with the good hair. I said, yo, Melo, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your fault. He was like, yeah, crack. But you know my mom's a decent lady. Rum punch. You called it. Just called it. The Puerto Rican rum. an old movie yes sir tell us about 72 hours tell us about it a little bit 72 hours uh dropping on Netflix July 24th no doubt great project hard R hard rated R comedy wanted to do something a little different wanted to go hard R the world needs it it's good to get comedy back to a place of uncomfortable so we can get comfortable uh a lot of new cats that I wanted to put on What the movie's about?
13Well, the movie's about an older guy trying to connect with the younger generation to keep his job. I'm an older guy losing my basic place in advertising sales. They feel because I got to disconnect with this generation. So to get a connection, I decide to go on a bachelor party with these younger guys. And a bachelor party ends up becoming a world of shit that I had no idea that I would be in. But it's very grounded did within how it happens. Like you're not looking at a crazy concept where you're like, huh? What? The laughs keep coming, but it's very believable in why. And I think as an older guy today, looking at how these younger kids are moving and all the shit that we don't understand, you don't get what they're doing or how they're doing it.
59Losing connection with the way that they're the influencer influences and the social media and the words. It's a lot going on right now. Trying to keep up with it as a job within itself. I decided to bring it to life through a movie. 72 hours. A lot of the new cats on SNL. Shouts out to Marcelo, Cam Patterson, Ben, Mason, who's in it as well. New talent, old talent, a lot of strong cameos. The movie Deliverance. By the way, I don't miss. I don't fucking miss. It's a funny movie. I don't fucking miss. I'm not going to give you nothing that isn't what I say. Did you call yourself Top 5 Dead or Alive or somebody gave you the big one?
41been around for a while. They've been in my family for a minute. You know what I'm saying? What's understood don't need to be said. What's understood doesn't need to be said. Oh my God. I'm a strong believer, but thank you. I appreciate that. Thank you. Double toast. He got his old tequila. He used to send me cases. Why you say used to? Did you ask for cases they didn't send them to you? I really didn't understand. where we went wrong. Well, I don't want to fuck up your sponsors. I'm very respectful. Is Cousin East still around? Yeah, Cousin East still around. Oh, that took a little... I had to think about it.
19Well, I had to think about it. Cousin East still around. But I get it. And I see that you guys have sponsors, so I'm not going to let you fuck up your sponsorship. You always... On a personal style. Sponsors can't block my gifts. No, I'm saying my personal style. Oh, yeah. I'm going to send you some stuff. See, the business is always going to miss, Beast. I'm never going to block the business here. I'm never doing that. But as a brother, I can send you something from me to you. man. A businessman. We got a toast in 72 hours. He never misses. Another one out of the park. 72 hours. A big toast. 72 hours.
48July 24th. Another toast. Joe and Jane in the podcast. Doing strong things. A bigger toast to the business that they're creating. The partnerships that they're expanding on. And the world of goddamn understanding the relatability that comes with them. If you're not fucking with them, you should. The show's only getting bigger. Hence, myself and other guests are coming because we need to. because it's about embracing the culture and those that embrace it. One more toast for Fanatic Fest. And we did our job. There you go. Look at that.
19Yeah, you see like, I don't know what they're drinking, but that's the acetate. The good thing is like, the good thing about what I'm drinking is just, I don't know, and this isn't a commercial for me, but I just like to, I like tequila to be smooth. I like to feel like my tequila is different. I like to feel like, you know, it's something that's soft on your palate. And I guess, our reposado is just doing amazing things and people are responding, which is why we're having 60%. Grand Cormino. Talk slow for the people in the back. Hard work tastes different, guys. It's all about embracing yours.
49Let me explain. Celebrate your hard work correctly. Go ahead, y 'all. You walk in, the lady's saying, all your guests is here. I said, no shit. I thought Obama walked in. You walk in with a whole crew. Got a team. You got a fucking posse, y 'all. I got a team, man. I got a team. A lot of people around me, but they all got shit to do. And they get real grabby at Fanatic's Fest. You know, I'm small. So the comedians, people feel like they know the comics. How do you manage to have muscles when you work so hard? You got it. No, that's hard. His workout regimen is me. You got it. What do you do? Every day?
27No matter what. Every day. You're flying in Turkey. Every day. You got this. Every day. No days off. There's no. He get busy, bitch. No days off. He get busy, bitch. Shouts out to Boss. Boss has been my trainer. You know when you go like that, it gives you an illusion of even more hype. No, that's not an illusion. That's what it is. That's not an illusion. We're not in a space to fall. I thought you could relate. We got the ESPYs yesterday, niggas, 10. 5 '7", handling out. He said, wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm 5 '8", the nigga Marcello. Marcello. Right? Yeah. Man, he brought it. He was funny.
03Marcello's funny as fuck. He was funny. My co-star. My co-star. Star again. 72 hours with me as well. Yo, what's up, yo? Shout out to Marcella. You crushed the SB just today. Crushed the SB just today. Yo, Monica. Yeah. Yo, Monica. What's up, girl? You know that Philly shit. You know what I'm saying? You know exactly what it is. I used to. JoeandJayTheShow.com. We got new merch fresh off the presses. Go get it. Bang. Out of bang. Bang. JoeandJayTheShow.com. you can get these little cold for a t-shirt with a hoodie. It's my favorite right there. I need an extra large. Show at Jadishow.com. Go there and get it.
48Listen, let me tell you something. Is there any fear? Have you hit the point of you're so caked up that it's impossible for you to ever go broke? because the reason why I'm asking is when I see a man work as hard as you, it gives me he want to secure he want to make sure the bag is beyond... Why doesn't he give you he dislikes work? I will tell you it's a two-pronged answer. A, I am a workaholic but I enjoy being busy. I enjoy having something to do and I think when you look at people on the other side of life, people deteriorate when they have nothing to energize them to do. When you look at people's bodies start to form, or you look at people get slower, you look at motherfuckers' minds, and they're not as sharp.
50They don't have shit to do. So the more that you stop interacting, the more that you stop engaging, the more that you stop fulfilling that source of energy, well, you will see it in some level, shape, or form. Deteroation. You will see it. It's impossible to avoid. Being active is just that. So I like building. I like building in real time, and I like the idea of building so much that when it's all said and done and I'm not here, somebody at some point will go, oh, yeah, no, that's Kevin Hartz. Oh, that's the Hart family. Oh, no, the Hart Foundation. I like the idea. I love that. Of multiple points.
32feel the same way. And shit that people can coincide or or I always say with me and my fans. You gotta paint a fat motherfucker on a picture and then three, four generations later be like, yeah, we eating this. I takes the fat Joseph Carter. There's nothing better. The man said it off. There's nothing better. There's nothing like it. You know what's motivating? I'm gonna tell you what's motivating. What do you think the dopest thing about a whole of a Yankee stadium was. What do you think the dopest thing? I'm going to tell you what niggas may not have even realized. You think just him performing, the show being big, sold out?
11I'm going to tell you the biggest ball. Rock Nation flags were at the top of Yankee stadiums. That was hell. Wrapped around the fucking stadium. I'm going to say this again to the audience watching. Never noticed. I just kept going in. I see that. Rock Nation flats were at the top of Yankee Stadium. Well, you know, when everything was trying to bum her, she went out there with a fucking Revenal Sharp in this shit. I don't blame her. What you call like the speed up? I don't blame her. But I want people to understand Yankee Stadiums don't promote other brands. Yankee Stadium doesn't allow the business of others to fucking have a bigger staple on their brand than theirs to get Yankee Stadium to take down the Yankee flag from the top and put Roc Nation flags.
11It will never happen again. No. You will never see another artist perform at Yankee Stadium that has a brand that Yankee Stadium allows to be seen from miles away flying in the fucking air. That to me is legacy. That to me is defining moments that separate you from the rest. So when I'm thinking about business, when I'm thinking about other things to do, how do I put such a fucking dent in the road between Kevin Hart did and what others could or can't? You can only do that when you just keep your foot on the gas. when you got your foot on the fucking gas, the shit that comes opportunities for years.
00Because I feel like I'm busy. It's a fact, guys. And I work every day. Right after this, I got a concert. Yeah. And I look at you and you're the definition of busy. Yeah. I just say, yo, this guy's working all the time. The biggest thing for me from the Jay-Z show was that the people, the fans, understood the assignment. What happened is, imagine how crazy it would have been like a Travis Scott moment and people would have rioted while they were waiting or this. The people said, you got to not fuck this up. Oh no, we're going to wait. We can't fuck this up. Look, we can't. That was the biggest shit for me.
4460 ,000, 80 ,000 people saying, we're going to wait and fuck it. I just want to highlight the business, the brand, but also you got one rapper, man. Hov didn't promote or market anybody else coming. If it was not marketed as you're going to see the best of the best come shit as they do. Greatest of all time, brother. You had it marketed as Hov is doing Yankee Stadium. Whether you are a fan or not, your personal business, I'm speaking from The concept of one rapper going on stage with one microphone, singing the album from 30 years ago to 11, 15 to 8, to current and doing over the course of three nights.
37Yes. And over the course of three nights. I'm surprising you. And then on last on the last night, there's a delay. We get a delay. there's a casualty the casualty's handled and over four hours over four hours people stood outside the stadium and waited because nobody accepted defeat and believing that the show is not going to happen wow, understand that for a second, Vance stood outside and said nope impossible nobody's coming out you know what's my claim to fame that night Sharif you was there I'm sitting in the riser Tyler Perry's there All the billionaires I'm the only guy With a seat In the riser Yeah Oh Oh Yeah yeah Throw it Throw it Throw it Throw it Throw it Throw it Throw it I think they have seats Who was the only guy With the seat In the whole riser With Tyler Perry in there Damn Everybody want to sit down.
47You're standing for five hours. So you're saying... You're standing. You had to sit. Only nigga would have seen. And you let... You let... You let Gail stand up. I let Joe's wife, Chrissy, sit down. You let Gail King stand up. No, I let Chrissy sit down. Okay, all right, that's a bye. And Callum's wife... That's a bye. Sit down. Family, I get it. That's a bar. That's a bar. That's a bar. But let me tell you something, man. Yo, Kev Hart, man. I'm so proud of you, man. Thank you, bro. It's too many accolades. Work hard, man. He's a big-ass re-racist. I thought the roast was hilarious. Thank you, man.
29Hell yeah. But let me ask you a question, right? And if you don't want me to put this on a race. You're good. When you book these, I think Jeff Ross last night at that. When you book these comedians, surely you know that guy's a racist. and he's going to say racist jokes, right? Are you just like freedom of speech? Here's the biggest misconception that eventually people have to understand, right? Everybody can label someone as whatever you deem to label them at, right? I'm telling you for a fact, who I know within the Rose culture is who I want to be a part of the Rose culture. It's a very small, knit group of people that are willing to participate in roasts.
14All of those people that were comedians that participated in roasts do that crap. Yeah, that's what they do. There is not a... I knew what he was going to do before he spoke. It's his humor. It's what he does. I knew what he was going to do before he even spoke. I accept it. Accept it or not. By the way, it's a choice. It's a part. I thought he was happy. I don't give a fuck. It's okay if you hate it. It's okay if you love it. within the dynamics of a roast, everything is not for everyone. Jokes are off-putting. I get it. They're not for you. Some jokes are not for me. I took them all with a grain of salt.
52They have no effect on me. My mother, my dead dad, my dead mom, family, career. There was so much stuff. I'm coming at you with whatever I can. People felt like some of the jokes were done in distaste. You have every right to feel it that way. I feel like some of them were too, But it doesn't change the concept of a roast. A roast is going to fit the dynamics of a roast. That's it. I'm not going to police anybody. Showing Jada, baby. It ain't a roast. It's something else. A meatloaf. What happened to me today when Kevin Hart appeared on our show and explained how I exaggerate everything, and there might be some lies.
32I did it for your audience. 35 % lies. I did it for your audience. I took it on the chin. It was a roast. But guess what? This ain't that. That ain't this. It's cracking. Make some noise. We love you, Kevin Hart. We love you, baby. Love you. We love you, Kevin Hart.
