In short
Jess Hilarious discusses her rise from COVID-era Instagram skits to joining Power 105.1’s Breakfast Club after Angela Yee’s exit, plus her co-parenting philosophy and memoir “To Deaf Do We Parent.” She also touches on postpartum experience, co-parenting after relationship splits, and the Breakfast Club’s move to Netflix (with full episodes no longer on YouTube).
Guest backgrounds
Jess Hilarious is a Baltimore-born comedian/performer who built multiple comedy series during COVID while radio/TV production was shut down. She later became a guest co-host on Breakfast Club, working alongside Charlamagne tha God and DJ Envy, and with senior producer Lauren.
Key claims
Black families aren’t doomed when parents separate; co-parenting can work without hatred. Therapy is important for trauma and grief. She argues some people weaponize motherhood/child support/leverage after breakups. She frames her co-parenting as “best friends” with her child’s father.
Notable examples
She describes being pregnant at 19 and having her son at 20, then having a second child two years ago. She recounts an incident where she told her baby father a child wasn’t his, and later regretted it; she also describes his bringing a new partner to her son’s birthday. She highlights her Netflix transition as “radio first” with real-time engagement.

Yeah, this is the Talk of New York, Tony Ayo. And this is the boy Uncle Murder, a.k.a. And live from Baltimore, we have one of the greatest of all time. Jess the mess, Jess hilarious, make some noise. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Rob Markman, What's up, y 'all? What's up, y 'all? Baltimore's in the building. Yo, where's the best place to get food in Baltimore? You know I'ma ask you that. Seafood.
3:27Jess Hilarious:Yo, man, it's hell up, man. So, I'ma start with Watershed, because Watershed is, it used to be like down there where the cross street market was at, but like Watershed is like you can get crabs, you can get seafood, you can get buffalo wings, you can get everything from there. That's like one stop shop when I wanna go home, get a good drink. and that's where I met my husband at. So I'm like, okay, cool. That's what's up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But Watershed is where you can go. You can also go to Moe's. Moe's is downtown too. But that's only if you're looking for like seafood. Anywhere else, just go to somewhere else for that.
3:59Jess Hilarious:Yeah.
4:00Tony Yayo:What you think about the mayor out there cleaning up? I heard violence is down. That's my guy. Hell yeah.
4:04Jess Hilarious:Like crime, the crime rage. Hell yeah. Yep. Brandon Scott, funniest. You know, this people don't really be believing that he is a real. Like that's a real guy. Like from the hood, born and raised. You know what I mean?
4:18Tony Yayo:Maybe that's why the crime rate is down because he can relate.
4:20Jess Hilarious:He can relate. That's the thing that people always want the prim and proper mayors who ain't never been through shit, who ain't never to stand up in front of a whole city of people and tell them what they can do for you. You don't know. Right. You know what I'm saying? You got, yeah. Yes, you never woke up and couldn't eat before. Like you never, you know what I'm saying? So like he's definitely, he got a story too. Got a crazy story. So I'm proud of our mayor in Baltimore. Definitely. Yeah, Brandon Scott, he doing the damn thing.
4:47Tony Yayo:I mean, he obviously know what he's doing because you know the crime rate, Baltimore was a tough place to live. It was, yeah. Certain parts, you know, is rough. They got real rich parts in Baltimore. Yeah. I know that too. What's the rich parts again? I forgot the name.
4:58Jess Hilarious:Man, it's a couple rich parts. You got Columbia, you got Arundel Mills, all that shit on the outskirts. And then you got where all the Ravens players be down at like downtown and shit where the doctors and all them live at. Fells Point, Canton. yeah that's ain't too many like four places you know what I'm saying like four places
5:19Tony Yayo:well shout to the mayor the crime rate is going down you're doing a good job you definitely relate to the kids hell yeah man Baltimore is a great city
5:27Jess Hilarious:yeah that's my nigga that's right yeah I'm gonna check him out thank you yo he got some shit man I did a couple records with him too before
5:40Tony Yayo:That's what's up. That's dope, because Baltimore ain't no artist really come out of there for a while, no? Yeah, he been going hard.
5:45Jess Hilarious:Yeah, not for a while, but you know, we got the Marios and... Yeah, that's it.
5:52Tony Yayo:She said the Mario.
5:53Jess Hilarious:Oh, Mario, yeah. We just had Jacquees talking about Mario. I was beefing with Jacquees. The singer Mario? Nah, not him. Yeah, the singer Mario, yeah. He's from Baltimore? He from Baltimore, yeah. Oh, shit. You can hear it when a nigga get mad. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, he do got a little attitude sometimes. Yeah, yeah, he get mad. Who you think he's saying? Now, them niggas can't sing. Them niggas can't sing. They can't sing. I mean, they can sing, so they can't sing. He the only nigga I know did the verses and told niggas, man, y 'all sound crazy. Yeah, okay. Like, on the mic, I'm like, damn, Mario.
6:19So, again, he do got that Baltimore in him. Okay, now you see it. I didn't even know that.
6:23Tony Yayo:So, where the jokes come from? The Baltimore streets? Most definitely. Because you were one tough cookie. You not like... Hell yeah. Yeah, when did you realize you was funny?
6:30Jess Hilarious:Man, I got all of that shit from my father's side. My father, my grandmother, that shit. From that side, they ain't rap too tight. So everything humorous and they laugh when they shouldn't laugh. They make jokes about shit they shouldn't make jokes about. All that shit come from my father's side. And then also just growing up in Baltimore, I got real thick skin. Just, man, I grew up around my brother. And he and his friends was fucking roasting me since a child all the way up until I was roasting their ass back. You know what I mean? So me growing up and then having a whole bunch of homeboys. I had a few homegirls in there.
7:04Jess Hilarious:But grew up around like a lot of the boys. Cause even in school I would hang around the guys. I was like a Tom girl. So like, you know, I would hang around them till I realized they wanna fuck. And it's like, ah, nope. I'ma come back. You know what I'm saying? Cause I ain't wanna fuck nobody. I just, you know, just wanted to be cool. I was, I found myself being real cool with the guys.
7:21Tony Yayo:So that's how I ended up with thick skin,
7:24Jess Hilarious:being able to roast niggas. Got it.
7:26Tony Yayo:And where'd the marketing come from? Cause it was a point where, was it during the COVID I think? It was during the COVID, you was getting crazy on Instagram.
7:33Jess Hilarious:Yeah, yeah, that's, I don't know, you're just standing out, honestly. I knew everybody was shut down during COVID. Wasn't nowhere to go. Niggas couldn't have fun, be outside. I mean, people still were, but you know, for the most part, you had to be locked down, especially if you had kids. Everybody kids was home doing virtual school and shit, you know, doing school virtually. So I was like, shit, I'm out there. Why everybody home ain't got nothing to watch? Cause it was the writer's strike, then actors and sets got shut down, shows got stopped and movies. I was like, shit, I'm about to get and get something to watch.
8:05Jess Hilarious:And that's just how I did it. I was like, fuck it. I created like four or five series. I started this series called Justify. It's just me on the road. And then I did House of Jewels where I played like five girls and then I played a dude that was funny. Then I did Ebeni and Zena where it's two bitches with the same baby father going at it and shit. and then like two other series. I was, man, I was real creative with nothing to do. Yeah, but be creative. Facts. Yep. Facts. How did it feel going from that though to Power 105.1? Man. Then knowing you had to replace Angela Yee and all the whole Breakfast Club drama.
8:51Yeah, because a lot of people was confused.
8:53Tony Yayo:A lot of people when Angela Yee left, people didn't know what was the next step. Like we didn't know what they was going to do next and you from Baltimore or doing New York radio.
9:02Jess Hilarious:Right. I ain't know what the fuck was next, Neva. When I woke up and I saw this shit, because it came out of nowhere, to be honest with you. I ain't going to hold you. I wasn't even really tuning in to The Breakfast Club to see the last, like, two years before she left, because I know shit went on Tamron Hall and she was saying, like, you know, it was already boiling down to her leaving and shit. Like, she wasn't happy or whatever. So I really wasn't even tuning in like that. I would catch it every now and then. And then when I woke up and saw the headline, and Angela Yee leave a breakfast club, get her own show, and I love when she's going with her own shit.
9:33Jess Hilarious:I was like, I hit Charlamagne like, yo, I need to be on Breakfast Club. I don't know what, yeah. I said, I don't know what the fuck going on, but that's a radio hall of fame show. It these niggas I grew up watching. So what game you don't want to do that though? Not to cut you off. What game? I ain't even hold you. I'm just a person who liked to do shit, who never did it before. Like shit, all right. I've always been paying attention to Charlamagne. I always say Charlamagne was a comedian in his previous life, but he gonna be one in his afterlife. Like I always thought he was funny. Envy was always, like he always been the radio guy to me.
10:06Jess Hilarious:He always got, he got the voice for radio, voice for DJing. Yeah, like he just is radio. When I think about radio, I think about DJ Envy. And then, and I'm like, shit, they need another female up there, motherfucker, but they need somebody that's gonna be able to stand up to them, that's gonna disagree with them niggas when they ain't right. That's still gonna keep it funny, fresh, funky, all that. give them the real. And I'm like, shit, I'm from Baltimore, who better? You know, and so Charlotte hit me back like, all right, cool, we gonna be guest co-hosting for the next few months. He ain't know that shit was gonna turn into a year.
10:38Jess Hilarious:I said, all right, cool. I started coming up there. Next thing you know, I got that shit, so.
10:42Tony Yayo:Yeah, definitely, shout out to you. Cause those are some big shoes to fill. And you and Lauren definitely, I feel like y 'all made the show bigger.
10:49Jess Hilarious:Most definitely, I appreciate it. Yeah, she the journalist part of it. That's what I am not. I'm not about to be on the phone calling niggas lawyers. is hey, what happened in the latest show? I'm like, nah, I'm not going to trial with niggas. I'm not doing none of that. But like, she got that TMZ background. That's what the show needed. You know, she produces well. She delivers the shit well. She gonna give you every detail there is to give. And I'm just gonna be there making fun of everything. We need that.

11:17Tony Yayo:Even us. You better believe me.
11:20Jess Hilarious:Yeah, ay, y 'all. I wanted to make fun of y 'all. I wanted to make fun of y 'all beefing on the wrap up so bad. but then y 'all got cool so quick. I was like, damn, man. I know it was 36 you could have said. But y 'all got cool so fast. It was like, it was drama. And then before you know it, y 'all worked it out so fast. She's from Baltimore. She just was lashing out. That's what it was. But still, I was like, hold up. I said, oh, this gonna go on. I was ready for somebody to get clipped. I'm gonna be cool. I thought one of y 'all was gonna get fired. I said, somebody going. To be honest. Why'd you think that though?
11:50She said she thought so too. Because you felt like they both couldn't exist at the moment. It was cool for a minute, but you thought they both couldn't exist.
11:58Jess Hilarious:That's the thing is see, the crazy thing about it is I knew that we could both exist, but I just thought Breakfast Club, and since we known it, it's been three people.
12:06Tony Yayo:Facts.
12:07Jess Hilarious:So I'm like, all right, it's even me or her. And I felt your attitude was making like, that's a hold up now, Jess ain't with this shit. Yeah, no, I'm not leaving. Jess is not with it. I'm not leaving. She feeling tricked. Shorty got go, like, I don't know. Y 'all want me to tell her? Sorry, Lauren. You got, you know what I'm saying? I ain't know. And then, you know, it just ended up unraveling and it being, you know, nah, she's gonna make the job, everybody's job easier. She's senior news producer. She is, I'm like, oh shit. Well, why niggas ain't say what's he? You know what I'm saying? I'm mad at this girl, shouldn't even be mad at her.
12:38Jess Hilarious:I really should be mad at y 'all boy, that's niggas. You know, Charlamagne envy all them, you know. Charlamagne envy.
12:44Tony Yayo:You know what I'm saying?
12:45Jess Hilarious:But nah, I don't regret doing it the way I did it. You know, now we're like a big ass family, you know. It was two sisters and two brothers. And people need to see that though. That was real shit. Like people needed to see that, man. Now y 'all tightest, you know y 'all can't.
12:57Tony Yayo:We argue all the time on the road.
13:00Jess Hilarious:Yeah, once I met y 'all and saw y 'all in person, I said, oh no, Breakfast Club, they make us look like best friends all the time. Like we okay over here. We okay. Two crazy fucking cousins. Like I don't even know how y 'all can take each other all the time.
13:15Tony Yayo:You know what it is? What? Murda's the kind of guy that he's cool when you, It's just you and him, but when other people get around, he start acting like funny. Oh, you say he ain't been funny and shit? Get the champagne and shit. What the fuck? Nigga, that's what I'm saying. Yo, yo, yo, get the champagne. What the fuck? You're like, we don't drink that shit. Nigga, what the fuck? Nah, I drink the champagne, but I don't know what the fuck. Yeah, like the way I said it. Like, yo, fuck it up. Like, you bossing me around. Oh, shit? Like, you Jeffrey and shit? Yeah, like, I'm Jeffrey and I work for this nigga or something.
13:43Tony Yayo:Go get that. Go get that. You know what I mean? So when it's me and him, we cool. But when other people get around, you know, it's Brooklyn. He got to perform. You know what I'm saying? Cut it out, man. Cut it out, man. Cut it out, man. So what was life before? Foodies, unite. This is Angie Martinez from IRL Podcast. 17:06Tony Yayo:I'm going to be in success and everything like that. Because I know you had a baby at 19, right? Man, I did.
17:11Jess Hilarious:I got pregnant with my son at 19. Oh, you was outside, Jess? Oh, nigga, I was outside. All right, heard you. I was popping this busy expeditiously, nigga. I'm not playing. I was born and raised in a church. My parents told me everything not to do. The more you tell a kid, don't do it, don't do it, don't do it. And I'm like, shit. My homegirl said she a hoe, I wanna see what that's like. You know what I'm saying? You know, they smoking weed now, you know what I mean? Like shit, I wanna see. So hopped off the porch, right onto some dick. I'm telling you, like my first boyfriend was my baby father.
17:40Jess Hilarious:I thought he was going to be, you know, till death do us part and it ended up, till death do we parent because yeah, I ain't gonna marry this nigga, but yeah, we got a kid that we gotta raise and we gotta put everything to the side that we feel and we hurting each other and shit. And this shit is really only hurting our son, you know, and the way we raise him and shit. So I got pregnant at 19, first official boyfriend, and then had my son at 20. Should I just clear that up? I had to be home and shit, like raising a kid. And that helped shape who I am today and how I approach my mid-20s and my 30s now that I'm in. I'm 34. Being a mom has really shaped me in the best ways.
18:48Tony Yayo:Facts. Facts. That was great. You had another kid, didn't you?
18:51Jess Hilarious:Yep, I did. Just two years ago. I let a nigga shoot up the club later. Hey, shoot the club up. A 12 year gap, a 12 year gap. Yeah, that's a big gap right there. Yeah, I know, but yo, the niggas wasn't nagging. You know what I mean? Like, you know, the guys wasn't dying. Look, I'm not one of them bitches that's just like, y 'all get me pregnant, like I want to hang up with me. Like, I was never one of them because I already know what that come with. I was, I was true testament to my son getting here at 20 years old. And I already know I was stuck with, with, with everything. So it's like, oh, all right.
19:24Jess Hilarious:I ain't trying to do that no more. So when I got everything out that I was supposed to get out, I met my husband and then boom, he told me what he wanted. I told him what the fuck I wanted. Wasn't taking nothing less. And we aligned and we are each other's companions. Like this the best, best person I ever met in my life. That's how I'm out. Yeah, man. Got my baby girl and my baby boy.
19:49Tony Yayo:Look at that. Well, you mad cool, so I know you and your husband, you seem like you mad cool. You said y 'all about to have more kids.
19:55Jess Hilarious:Yeah, I definitely want to give him two more, for sure. I gave him his first. And yeah, and he loves my son like he is his father. So I love that. And my baby father and my husband is fire. I seen y 'all had him on the show. I know y 'all was talking about how y 'all co-parenting. Oh yeah, me and my son and father, like best friends, y 'all. We cool as shit. Like that's my dog. Wrote about all this in the book. Talk about the book that you got out. Yeah, man. So To Deaf Do We Parent is the name of the book. It's a co-parenting memoir. And it basically, I wrote this shit because it's a lot of, it's a bad, bad stigma put on black families, y 'all.
20:30Jess Hilarious:Like families, period, but especially black. They feel like when we don't make it as a couple, we can't do shit. We got to hate each other. We can't even come together effectively to raise our kid. Like, I don't know why the fuck they think like that about us, you know, because that's not, that's not always the case. That don't even have to be the case. Some females do make it hard, though. No, I ain't gonna hold you. After the breakup, some females make it hard and then they use the baby as leverage and all type of bullshit. You weaponize. Child support and all that shit. Some males ain't doing shit.
20:59Tony Yayo:You ain't lying about that. You got a lot of dead beats. So it goes both ways. But I know that stigma you talking about because I had an argument with a cab driver and he said, where the fuck is your father? I'm like, my father was still alive at that time.
21:10Jess Hilarious:Wow.
21:10Tony Yayo:Yeah, so people look at it like in a black home like, where the fuck is the father? That nigga straight, you talking about
21:16Jess Hilarious:to me, me at the cool, the got to get out. You mean one of them?
21:20Tony Yayo:Yeah. You said some shit to him. You nigga straight ass you? Yo, I fucking, I don't even want to repeat what I said to him. Wow. But the first thing he said to me was like, where's your father? Crazy. You know, you know, come on bro. Being a black man and people see you with your kids at the bus stop, it's amazing to them.
21:36Jess Hilarious:Yeah, like what the fuck? Like it's an amazing thing.
21:38Tony Yayo:Now we go. Like, yo, you take care of his kids.
21:41Jess Hilarious:So I know what you're saying about that. Yeah, that stigma, man, that's bad. So that's what made you really win the right place? Yeah, man, I'm like, no, it's time to kill that shit. Like, it's some real, real beautiful, genuine black love without parents being together. Like, that happens, you know? We got a lot of examples, but we highlight the opposite, you know, because that goes further. That gets all the virality and all of that. But like, no, it's some real, real strong, beautiful black families that are not together, you know?
22:07Tony Yayo:And that's what you're breaking down in the books.
22:09Jess Hilarious:Hell yeah, most definitely. That's dope, man. And I love all my baby father kids just like they mine too. This is a book my kids wrote. Oh my God, your kids wrote a book. The Merry Christmas Roar. Oh, we gonna put this out for a little bit. This is fire. Yeah, it's on Amazon and all that now. It's available and all that. The Merry Christmas Roar. Yeah, you ain't been telling me to promote it for a while. I'm not gonna lie to my brother right here. I'm not gonna have one, right? I can have one. Of course you can, man. Of course you. I'm gonna give you a couple. Yes, of course you can, man. Thank you, yo.
22:41It is available on Amazon and all that. Barnes and Nobles, all that good stuff. So we a lot of kids over there. We a lot of kids. Yes, we do. We a lot of kids.
22:49Tony Yayo:So in your book, are you talking about some red flags or green flags in relationships?
22:54Jess Hilarious:You're fucking right, man. Rome wasn't a big ass red flag nigga. That's why he my friend now. That's why he not my nigga no more. You know? I realized when I had to, like, yo, all right. First of all, Rome came with a lot of trauma. But did you see anything that you could have did better as well? Absolutely. Like, do you see like, damn, OK, you know what? I talk about that in the book too. Oh, right, gotcha. Okay, okay. Go ahead, not to fuck that. Even what y 'all was talking about, like how women will weaponize like the baby or weaponize like motherhood to like, to fuck with the dad's relationship with the kid.
23:26Jess Hilarious:I did that. I did all that. I ain't even told my baby father that my son wasn't his just to get him in the gun. Just to hit him in the gun. Damn, you cold. Yeah, yo. And I regretted it. That's cold right there. I regretted it as soon as I said it. I said, man, I ain't supposed to be doing this shit. That's crazy. But I did it. He got crazy after that a little bit? what this nigga brought a bitch to my son's first birthday party like walked up in there like he this was around the time loving hip hop was out this nigga walked down like he was stevie jay shorty was jostling well i'm gonna make sure he mean me because i could fight so i would have been jostling but like that's fucked up like i was looking like wow but i already knew where it came from i told him that this wasn't his kid got you not supposed to do no shit like of course you know you just you're not supposed to ring that bell once you do it it's hard to gain that trust back.
24:08Jess Hilarious:You know what I mean? But if it wasn't for my son looking smack dab just like his father, he didn't look like me at all until he got older. But he looked like... Did y 'all go get the blood work and all that after you said all that shit? Nah, I thought he... I thought that's what he was going to do and I was willing to do it. Gotcha, because you knew like nigga I wasn't... Yeah, copy, copy. He was like, nah, I ain't going... He said he believed it for a second but then he got to looking at the pictures like, man, no way, man. This bitch just said... Yeah, she just said that shit threw me off. Gotcha.
24:35Jess Hilarious:You know, but he still wanted and brought that little greasy head-waring bitch to my goddamn shorty shit was - I ain't mad at him, though. I ain't even mad at him. I ain't mad at him. Shorty had the heavyweight. Cause that was some foul shit you did, so I ain't mad at him. It was definitely foul. I ain't mad. That probably was the only thing he could've did to really make you as mad as you had been. That's right. I ain't gonna even hold you, real talk. My own girls got her the fuck up out of there. Nah, but after she say something - Knowing how Jess is? Yeah, but after you say something like that - Knowing how Jess is?
25:01A word, the baby in mind, now I'm pulling up with a bitch to this shit like this. Yeah, what's up?
25:07Tony Yayo:spiteful. I'm going to tell you why. It is. Yeah. Because you know how Jess is. Jess Hilarious. You know she's not playing. She's from Baltimore. You know everybody's tough. Ain't nobody's sore about this. He's from Baltimore too, right? He is. I mean, he's playing. He's tough too. I get that. I knew she was going to flip out. Shit crazy. I knew you flipped out for that birthday party. Yeah, you motherfucking right.
25:25Jess Hilarious:You don't want the drama at the birthday party. Man, come on. This my family, the church family. Do you know the church family really going to go and talk at the time? But we're going to take it to the altar. Now, y 'all going to tell everybody else that's what they mean when they say we gonna take it to the office that mean they just telling everybody your business I'm like nigga you did this shit in front of my pastor so y 'all both felt that pain
25:43Tony Yayo:she said in front of her pastor
25:45Jess Hilarious:how y 'all got past all of that crazy shit honestly me and Rome really didn't reconcile the right way as becoming a team until Ash was like three it only took like two years for me and Ash to get it only took two years for me and Rome to get on the right page and I honestly gave him a lot of grace. I gotta give myself a lot of grace too because for me to be that young, I was 22. You know what I mean? I still should have been crashing out. You know what I mean? By definition of what a 22-year-old is. So you're doing that with those facts. Yeah, but my baby father came with a lot of trauma. He lost his mom at 10.
26:23Jess Hilarious:Not only did he lose her, he the one that found her dead. So like, nobody ever got him. No counseling, no therapy, no family ever stepped up and was like, I'm gonna make sure you good or whatever. you know so he just grew up that love stopped abruptly you know what i mean because now he had uproot his life from being the only kid the center of attention he was his mother's love like to now being in a household with all boys you know what i mean like he had brothers he went live with his dad his stepmom father wasn't really there like that and you know then he started self as he got older he started self-medicating on women so like shit got real crazy when he met me he was already still trying to process how to navigate the grief and shit you don't know what the fuck going on and um he was playing basketball and shit and all of that but it was still like it was a void that was never filled so i thought it was me but it was bigger than me he was looking for his mom and and the love that that stopped so abruptly at 10 and no girl could give him that because that's a different type of love you know so i once i started to understand that it was bigger than me and how to change my mindset.
27:29Jess Hilarious:And it's like, I need to be this nigga friend. Like, cause he don't really have nobody that's like really trying to help him cope. You know, and I started doing that. And what made me do that was when I actually left a nigga alone. I had left Rome and started dating this other guy who was great, not only for me, but for my son. I wanted to get Rome, came back, told me everything I wanted to hear. I left the dude, started fucking with him. 24 hours later, I find out Rome got a baby on the way
27:57Tony Yayo:by somebody else who he was in another relationship with.
28:01Jess Hilarious:That's when I was like, you know what, yo? I ain't doing this shit. I ain't doing this shit anymore. Cause I'm gonna kill you. You don't feel like you was a red flag?
28:07Tony Yayo:Cause you left a good guy for the street guy? Like a lot of women do that?
28:12Jess Hilarious:But I call myself doing the right thing. Cause I'm like, yo, I can leave you. You tried to go for the family. I can leave you or I could cheat on you with my baby father. You know what I mean? And I kept telling myself that, but I'm like, nah. I already knew it wasn't even me giving Rome another chance to be a family. It was me giving him another chance to be my boyfriend. Because we could have been a family without this nigga being my boyfriend. We could have raised our son together still. I was still just holding on to that hope of being with him. Because when I met him, I thought I was going to marry him.
28:43Jess Hilarious:We was going to have more kids and blah, blah, blah. But we was young. And then also Rome had to... Rome still fighting that tragic moment of him losing his mom and shit. So, you know, it's a lot of work.
28:55Tony Yayo:You think that's a red flag when a man doesn't get therapy? Yeah. Yeah, that's a real. Like going through stuff like that. It's a red flag. And street anxiety. Absolutely.
29:02Jess Hilarious:Because a lot of them are walking around like nothing is wrong with them. They don't even know. Sometimes they don't even realize that shit is wrong with them. Like even men that have been in jail for a long time, niggas be still institutionalized and don't even realize it. Like that's a real thing. Like, you know, when you have so many losses back, whether you're in the streets and you you losing homeboy at homeboy or whatever, whatever. Like that shit plays on your mind, like for real. And I always, people always be like, yo, everything in life is not about power universe. But no, when you think about it though.
29:37No, it do be.
29:38Jess Hilarious:You see how on Raising Cane and Uncle Lee was going through all of that shit. And it was killing, killing, killing. That shit started haunting them. You know what I'm saying? That's real shit. We have like a story that we're watching it. So it's dramatized as TV, but like, that's real life. You know how people going through that. Yeah, you know what I mean? Niggas be about that, but even in their mind, it still haunts them. All these bodies they're catching, and then also all the people that they lose. So, like, people don't even be realizing, like, there's a lot of shit that they got to work through, and sitting in a therapy session once a week for three or four years or for the rest of your life ain't a bad thing.
30:11Jess Hilarious:It's going to make you confront shit that you didn't even know was there, and it can go back all the way to your childhood. It'll start making you question your parents. You'll start having conversations with them. why am I like this? What the fuck happened? What did you, you know what I mean? So therapy is very important, real shit. I'm a one of, you know what's crazy? My boy Wizzy, he be saying that. Like, yo, Mark, I think we need therapy. It is. I think we need to go see a therapist. For real. And it ain't, I remember it was. I'm one of them kids that lost his moms when I was 13 years old, no father and all that.
30:41So I know exactly what you're saying. Like, you still think about things to this day. You know how mad I'd be like, my kids won't never get to meet my mom and shit like that, I be like, yo, dang. I think about that a lot. You know what I'm saying? And people won't even ever know that. But it be like that. Word.
30:57Tony Yayo:Yeah, therapy might be good for you. I was blessed to have my mother and my father. My mom still alive. My pops passed away at 80, so.
31:03Jess Hilarious:Oh, wow, we lived a full life. Your mom's still here. That's amazing.
31:07Tony Yayo:But still, at the same time, like, when they divorced, I feel like, you know, that led to my criminal life. Because my father was on my back. That's crazy you say that, for real. So it's like, when the father's not in the home, I felt like it gave me more leeway to do more shit. because my pops used to chase me off the block, but he wasn't there to chase me off the block. And my mom's was always working. She was a nurse, so she worked a night shift. And that's what caused me to get in trouble.
31:29Jess Hilarious:So you had a lot of freedom. You're like, shit, I can do what I want.
31:32Tony Yayo:That's why it's so important in that book you put out about parenting. Talk more about it, please.
31:37Jess Hilarious:Yeah, no, for real. And see, even with - See, it's something like what he just said, though, right? Like how when his parents was together, he was kind of good. Then when they separated and led to the street life, how do how do you think people avoid that because that's shit that happens today and it's real if mom is working that's hard to avoid
31:58Tony Yayo:if mom is working all day a nurse every night my pops moved out the house that was my leeway they didn't want me to be in the streets they didn't want that for me
32:11Jess Hilarious:it's all about your mindset and what you want to grow up and be because so for instance like we had like all right fuck all that fuck fuck other examples what made you want to chase the streets though your mom was a nurse your dad didn't even show you that kind of life what made you do it was it something you saw i mean it was everybody in the
32:30Tony Yayo:neighborhood okay right everybody was a doctor in the neighborhood okay i'm saying or lawyer and then you got the freedom to do it right nobody watching you like she at work so now I'm outside. So now I'm going to 134 and Gabriel. I'm going to 160 and everybody, you know, they buying sneakers. They buying clothes. My mom's going to do the best she can do for me. But now when Jordan's now. She won't all day and get it. Yeah.
32:53Jess Hilarious:You know, and you had to wait three, four checks and see your mother, you know, do that. But then you got, she got bills to pay. So you can go and get it yourself. Now, you also do got your people take your same household, right? And your dad leaves. you could have been the kid that's like shit I'm gonna just study, study my mom ain't here fucking I'm gonna bury my head in these books and could have went to college and been a fucking engineer or been a you know what I'm saying it's just how you're wired it's just like what you see it's just these motherfuckers the introverted motherfuckers that's not outside you know what I mean?
33:25They don't even want to be around people but then you got some people that's infatuated with that you're like oh man niggas outside with the joints, chains
33:31Jess Hilarious:shit yeah I want that you know what I mean
33:33Tony Yayo:I feel like people like Baltimore, for instance. I feel like people turn into what the environment is. You understand?
33:40Jess Hilarious:Yeah, not everybody, but for the Baltimore, yes. The majority. Like all of us sold drugs,
33:44Tony Yayo:and one of my mans worked at the post office. Like one out of five. But everybody, it's really the environment you're in. When you take people out of the environment, I think it changes. You got a better chance at becoming something else. Definitely. Yes, I agree with that too, though. Yeah, that's cool. I agree with that. Do you feel like if you had a chance
33:59Jess Hilarious:to redo your childhood, would you have done anything different, or would you do this shit over? and never again.
34:05Tony Yayo:Of course, I would definitely do a lot of things.
34:07Jess Hilarious:Yeah.
34:08Tony Yayo:Because my parents were chasing me off the block. They knew what the trouble was there and then I ended up getting in trouble, you know?
34:14Jess Hilarious:Yeah. For me, for some reason, I don't regret nothing. Like how I grew up, I love it all. I think it just, it make you who you are. It's just, it was what you supposed to go through. What about your dad? I don't know that nigga. You don't know? No. Yeah. Okay. He wasn't there. And so you don't even know if he's alive at all? Nah, real shit. Like I don't know if he alive or not. And you never thought about like trying to look for him and shit like that. But then you know what's crazy? I thought about like, I never know, right? You never know what he was going through. Cause I remember I used to talk so crazy about like, fuck my pops, fuck this nigga.
34:46Even through the music, right? But then as I got a little older and I just realized how parenting go and what people go through in life, how hard shit be. I'm like, damn, I don't know what he was going through. I don't know. I just don't know. Like for him not to be here, I don't know.
35:00Jess Hilarious:I don't know. Maybe my mom's God bless was crazy and pushed his ass away. Maybe he was like, I can't deal with her no more. I'm out of here. I don't know what it was. You know what I'm saying? She never got to explain it to you.
35:10Tony Yayo:We should find his dad for the show, right? We might, maybe. You know what I mean? I think so. I think so. Help me, help me, Jess. Let's find us.
35:17Jess Hilarious:Or he probably does not even know he has a son. You know? Like he could, like there's a possibility. He don't know. That nigga know. Okay. That nigga know. Don't play with me, homie. Don't play with me. Murdy gonna be like man fuck you nigga
35:33Tony Yayo:where you been my whole life?
35:35Jess Hilarious:Murdy ain't Murdy crazy he's a cancer too but all of this shit is covered in the book this is why I wrote it it's not just for one type of parent two type of man motherhood and fatherhood looks different for everybody even childhood looks different for everybody and it's ultimately a book about relationships and how to foster them and how to work through uncomfortable conversations and difficult conversations and shit like that. Me and Rome had to do a lot of the get to where we are today. Got you. Got you. Definitely. Yeah, this is Talk of New York. And this is the boy Uncle Murder, a.k.a. Le 'Jet Lenny.
36:12Tony Yayo:Today we're here to talk about Basque and Lather. Oh! You know what I'm saying? One of the best products out there. Black owned. Definitely, man. East New York, I'm telling you, I'm trying to grow this beard now, right? Mm-hmm. So my thing now is to get the Basque and Lather beard growth magic. Definitely better for the skin, man. So I think the people need to get with the movement, get the new wave out there. Rob Markman And this is what people got to understand. When you travel, right? And we go to all these places. We're in the Beez of Monaco. Rob Markman And you jump in the shower, the water is totally different.
36:41Tony Yayo:Rob Markman Mm-hmm. Rob Markman The water is different on the skin. It's harder on the skin. So when I jump out the shower and we're in the Beez of somewhere, you know how that water be different in certain places. Rob Markman Mm-hmm. Rob Markman You use that basking lava on your skin and it's the best thing for you. Rob Markman Yeah, it feels good, man. I feel like you're right back at home, man. Explore viral bestsellers and products for healthier hair of all types at BaskinLatherCo.com. That's BaskinLatherCo.com. Whoa! Yeah! And you're a super entrepreneur, right? Hell yeah. 37:12Tony Yayo:Mm-hmm. You're controlling radio. Shout out to The Breakfast Club, one of the biggest shows. Catch them on Netflix. And now we got the Don't Play With Me Tour.
37:20Jess Hilarious:Yes, sir.
37:21Tony Yayo:The next comedy chapter. Yes, sir. Okay, and now we got dates in Ontario. Atlantic City, Tacoma, Cincinnati Virginia and New York we gotta come to the New York show how do you do that? cause I've been to comedy shows and I feel like I've been on stage like major stages like Madison Square Gardens ball plays and I just feel like when you're rapping and doing a song it feels easier but like comedy like I just don't you gotta really control the crap what goes on your mind when you up there?
37:51Jess Hilarious:yo who is here? like where I'm at? what they like to hear okay cool now if it's a if it's a city like um like what's one of the most boring fucking cities you know yeah don't say that man don't stop your bag nah trust me nah especially if it's boring ain't nothing else for them to do they're gonna buy tickets like a south dakota for sure you go to a fucking south dakota all the most boring shit to make fun of that's what you do like what y 'all do y 'all watch bridgerton up this motherfucker like just anything you just start going in and then you just have you you have shit that you that you write that can appeal to anybody age race whatever you are man woman other whatever the fuck you know what i mean like you just you can appeal to everybody um but like i don't know i just be looking around for like who who i don't roast people but i like to fuck with people i like to ask people shit you know i don't i'm not the roasting person i if you come and sit on the front row, I ain't trying to roast you.
38:47Jess Hilarious:You paid. Most of the time, motherfuckers don't be trying to, they, you know, the people who sit on the front row, they be thinking they look good. Let them think they look good. I don't like to get embarrassed. Yeah. I don't like to embarrass you at my show. You know what I mean? Now, if you ask me to, I'm going to do that. You know what I mean? But if like, nah, I don't be doing it. I will ask people questions. Like since I got the book out, a lot of my crowd work now was about co-parenting and baby fathers and baby mothers and shit. They I be triggering some people though, motherfuckers be like, man, that bitch told me my son wasn't even mine.
39:18Jess Hilarious:Bitch, I'm like, shit, I did that too, chapter three. Check it out. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, I be plugging a book and doing comedy at the same time and shit, yo. But yeah, so basically, yeah, the don't play with me toy is basically, it hints off of everything. You know, this government playing with us, baby father might be playing with you, your mother might be playing with you. Shit, you might be even playing with yourself and don't even fucking realize it. You know what I'm saying? You ain't wake up yet, fast. So, yeah. Now, you know something I wanted to ask you that we kind of happy about, but I see y 'all had to discuss a few times.
39:49Because y 'all not on YouTube no more, right? We happy, we don't mind. People that used to go watch y 'all on YouTube, come to the Real Report. Come to the Real Report. The value, we not mad, come to the Real Report. Come to the Real Report. That's how you do it. How did that, like, what's the whole thing with that? Like, y 'all had a real strong YouTube presence. people was mad at y 'all now we can't see the breakfast club on youtube they on netflix what's
40:15Jess Hilarious:that whole thing like so when it first happened just like anything that you got to get used to y 'all motherfuckers be screaming and stomp and making noise and i'm not going to get netflix and all of that and all of that shit you know what i mean but niggas didn't realize oh damn i already got netflix all i gotta do is just watch you know what i mean um at first it was like and i get it the youtube family they like yo y 'all been building this shit over fucking 15 years what the fuck you mean we not y 'all not gonna be on youtube no more we still post clips but not the full episode and not the full interviews and shit so you can still go there to see like you know highlights of the show but you gotta come to netflix to see the exclusivity you know what i'm saying to get like the whole episode and the whole interview and shit and um i mean shit yo did you ever think of radio being on the biggest, like the number one streaming platform ever?
41:09Jess Hilarious:This is a radio show, cause we radio first. Nah, definitely, definitely, definitely. Then we podcast. Definitely, definitely. Then we a fucking show, you know, a lot, but it's live on Netflix. I think that's a big fucking deal. I couldn't even see the vision at first. I was like, man, fuck that. You didn't like, you felt like a little awkward. I'm like, yeah, I'm like, man, niggas need to be able to interact with us. Nah, we gotta be able to engage. Like the biggest part of radio was being able to engage with the host in real time. I'm like, no, y 'all, this some bullshit right here. But after a while, I'm like, nah, nigga on Netflix, you know what I'm saying?
41:43Jess Hilarious:And then when he added the live component, now you can really watch us like you listening to us on the radio, you know, in the car, on the way driving to school or whatever, you know, it's like, damn, this is, nobody could have ever told anyone that was doing radio back in the day that this is where it would be. You know, and so I'm excited to be a part of that. I'm happy as fuck to have been, you know, to be a part of that shit. But you misengaging with the fans a little bit on the YouTube. Oh yeah, most definitely. Do you think Netflix could work on something like that as far as some type of engagement?
42:15Are they working on something like that?
42:16Jess Hilarious:I don't even know what they working on, to be honest with you, yo. Charlamagne would know all that shit. Copy, okay. That's the nigga that they probably call and shit. You know what I'm saying? Okay, okay. But yo, I think they are. The reason why I think they are is cause like, think about what Netflix just was two years ago. We wasn't getting sports. We wasn't getting NFL boxing matches and shit. We didn't even have reality shows on there. I'm like, now they got games on that motherfucker, competition shows. Yes, my kids is on there playing golf games now. You ain't lying about that. Yes. Yeah, they got games on there.
42:48Kids is playing golf on Netflix. And the biggest concept, the biggest
42:53Jess Hilarious:component of media has been now podcasts. It's like They add net. Yo, it ain't nothing except porn that's not on Netflix. And that's yet. Because you might have an X-rated Netflix joint overnight. You got to pay a little extra for five. Like, yo, these niggas got everything. Exactly. They got everything. Because the point that they want you to do, the whole point of a Netflix is they want people to be on that bitch 24-7. 24-7, yes. They don't want, that's how they get their bread up. That's how, you know what I'm saying? Like they want you to stay on there every, every day, all day. You ever be watching the show, you just let the shit run.
43:34Jess Hilarious:And then they say, are you still watching? They want that engagement and it'll stay up there until you wake back up and be like, oh yeah, I'm still watching. Or no, they want to know how long you watch the show before you let it run. You want to know, like they paying attention to all of that shit. Look at that. Yeah, the rest of these, these streaming platforms better get it together, but I'm always love and respect YouTube. It ain't gonna ever be nothing like YouTube ever. I don't give a fuck what Netflix do. It'll never be anything like YouTube.
43:59Tony Yayo:I always say the solution is this. If I was to sign a Netflix deal, give me one episode on YouTube and one episode on Netflix. He always say that. I like that. He say that a lot like, I want to work that kind of deal while we do a Merc.
44:11Jess Hilarious:But anything can be negotiated. You do that shit. You do that shit. Well, you said I had something like that.
44:16Tony Yayo:Oh, Mr. Beast. You know, he'll have one show on you. He'll have some of his show like on YouTube and then he'll have like an episode on Amazon. Yeah. I was like, oh, so it's possible. Yeah. It's like a multiple distribution deal. Yeah, hell yeah. You ever think about going into acting? Cause you mad funny, yo.
44:32Jess Hilarious:Hell yeah, yo. I be acting and shit too, yo. I done did some shit already. Call 5th right now. Yo, this nigga be live. We gonna set it up. This nigga be live. Like, yo. Yo, y 'all know how long I've been auditioning for this nigga. I auditioned for the first power. I auditioned to be ghost. I can't fuck with Jasmine. Y 'all know that? Just get the fuck out of here. Y 'all know that, yo? Go swipe. Nah, nah, I ain't even audition for Tasha. Nah, I ain't even audition for Tasha. I said you was hurt that they killed Uncle Marv too. You know what's crazy? I texted a nigga Fifth like, we had to go to Tyrese Halliburton and Whetton for the Indiana Pace.
45:08He got married. And I text Fifth like, yo, the day before, I don't even know if I want to go, man. After seeing what you did to Uncle Marv, nigga, I ain't really feeling you right now, man. Real talk, man. Bad lady to Uncle Marv, man.
45:18Tony Yayo:We've seen him two days before the show. We just was with him. We was alive. We was with him. We was just chilling, man. Y 'all was with him? We was just with him. Then a nigga went in the church. We was at the Fightland Perman, man. We was at the Fightland in the stars, man.
45:31Jess Hilarious:And this nigga was sitting there knowing like, I'm about to die. Like, he was all saying, man. Saying they talking about how you walk and sit down. I'm going to put the video out, matter of fact. And then they show like four different angles of the nigga dying. Oh my God, you ain't lying. You ain't lying about that, man. How the fuck y 'all show? Y 'all only show loose. Sliding down the wall and shit. So y 'all let us know he didn't make it at all. He got hit from this way, this way, this way, this way. I'm like, yo, what? You gotta go in the church though.
45:55Tony Yayo:Kanan, you fucked up. In the church. Kanan was, they make it. I don't really like Kanan. Yeah, I was mad at it.
46:01Jess Hilarious:And you know what that shit made me do, yo. That shit made me go back and watch the original Power. Cause I'm like, yo, no, he gotta mention his uncle. That nigga ain't dead. He got him in. And I was like, no, Rock, no, Rock gonna die. But then I'm like, nah. When, when, if you think about it, you go back to Power and shit. When Kanan first got out of jail and shit, he came, popped up on St. Patrick and shit and he was like, yeah, I just got finished seeing my mom's. I'm like, so Rock was living or he was lying. Kanan be lying any fucking way. So it's just like, yeah, he did. He said, I just got finished.
46:29Jess Hilarious:That's interesting with this last episode coming up. Yeah, you know what I mean? So I'm like, I don't know. It got to add up. And then the real Uncle Marv is still alive, I think. Like, that shit been going around. I want Marv to be alive too. I'm not going to lie. I was hurt when Lou got killed. I ain't gonna hold you. But I wasn't too mad at Kenny because that was a mistake. But that nigga didn't act like it was a mistake. He didn't act like it was a mistake. He didn't give a fuck. But it was a mistake. He was about to kill Rob. I did a nigga turn through like, oh shit. You know what I'm saying?
46:57Boom, boom. It wasn't on purpose. Why does this bitch keep talking about he just a kid?
47:01Jess Hilarious:He just a kid, mom. He's not a kid. Bitch, he ain't no - He's not a fucking kid. He's dropping bodies. This nigga, he's not a kid. He's trying to kill you, mom. He's not a kid. Right. Like what the fuck? She needs to be in some movies. We need Jess to see. Nah, Jess is getting a lot of money.
47:13Tony Yayo:You see all that shit on her name? I see Jess. Jess is getting a lot of money, man. A lot of money. Jess, let me ask you a question. What's up? Just the other day, Remy was at Angie Martinez show, right? Shout out to Angie Martinez. She on the barbecue. The barbecue, the barbecue. The barbecue, the barbecue. And she said, nigga ain't getting had for nothing. You can wind the tape or whatever. Nigga ain't getting nothing. How do you feel when a man wants the money from you? Because you getting a lot of money now. You got close to us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like say your baby daddy Rome or yo, yo, yo.
47:40Tony Yayo:You know, I'm gonna say your husband. No, for sure, I got you. Don't be speaking no negative shit to existence, man. Nah, I don't wanna speak that. Damn, man. That's why I said say Rome. That's it. No, I got you, I got you. Say Rome wanted some bread from you. Like, how do you feel about when a man plays a different role? Fuck it, give him that. He's after the new husband and shit don't work out and that he want the money, yeah? How do you deal with that? You like it. Like, do you sign a prenup?
48:01Jess Hilarious:Well, he got his own company and shit like that. My husband came with his own shit. You know what I mean? Like he ain't insecure, ain't never been insecure. That nigga came like, look, I know who you are. I get it. But look, I got my own shit too. I get, I really do get it too. So you know what I'm saying? That's why I love that. But nah, Rome needs something. Rome got it, y 'all. I ain't gonna hold you. Like, it's certain motherfuckers I be like, no. But Rome really my nigga. Rome don't ask for shit like just cause he know I got it. He'd come to me if he fucked up. I'd be the last person he asked too.
48:34Jess Hilarious:It ain't never, my baby mother got it. At first, shit. It was like that for a minute. But he was doing it at the wrong time because that's when I was only on Wildin' Out. Niggas wasn't really getting paid and shit. And people be thinking you got more than what you actually got. Nigga, I'm getting a thousand an episode. What the fuck you think I can do with that? I'm still raising your son. Nigga, don't ask me for nothing. That was the Wildin' Out shit. At first. It's an opportunity. You got to take what you get to get on. Right. That's when I first started out. And then my shit, you know what I'm saying?
49:01Jess Hilarious:Can't say what it was because I was Wildin' Out motherfuckers. to be like, you was getting that. Oh, bro, you was giving just that? Nah, nah, nah. Facts, facts. So, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, but when we first started, it was that, you know what I mean? But yeah, nah, nah, man. Listen, I get what Remy is saying. You know, when you been like taking care of a nigga, you know what I mean? For this long, this long, and that long, and that long. But Papo said he wrote the lyrics, though, too. I mean, he said that, you know what I'm saying? But Remy had hit you before.
49:29Tony Yayo:Remy said he did. You know what I'm saying?
49:32Jess Hilarious:And we know Rem gets busy, you know? With her pins. She can rap. We also know Pat gets crazy too. She can rap, yeah. This nigga will go in. Like we know that, you know? But Rem could rap her ass on. Yeah, you know what I mean? Let's not act like Rem can rap her ass on. And been like that, you know? So my question is, who writing her shit now? If he was writing it all this stuff. Who writing her shit now? Cause she's still - She definitely sounding good. Still giving Rem. Like yup, don't ever sound like she took a day off. So it's like, you know, but I totally do get it. But whatever works for you.
50:10Jess Hilarious:You know what I'm saying? Like whatever works for you do that. But I ain't into that. I've been in relationships where I've been taking care of niggas for real. And that shit hurt. Maybe you should talk to them
50:21Tony Yayo:because you got the book about co-parenting.
50:22Jess Hilarious:I don't need to say shit to them niggas.
50:24Tony Yayo:No, I'm talking about Remy and Pat, man. Oh, oh, oh, I'm like, no. One's an Uber driver, good luck to the other. I'm bringing this up because it's co-parenting. You know what I mean? I got a beautiful daughter. She's a co-parent. One of them niggas is an Uber driver, nigga. Just make sure you don't drink and drive, nigga. But I ain't got nothing for you, nigga. Good luck dropping off my fans to my show, nigga. How about that? I ain't got nothing for you, nigga. You know what I'm saying? She talking spicy. You did something wrong, homie, yeah. Nah, see the thing is, the thing about it is,
50:47Jess Hilarious:talking to Remi Pap. Sometimes you gotta mind the business that minds you. You know what I'm saying, to be honest, yeah. No, it's a co-parent question. It don't even really seem like she want to talk to Pap. It don't seem like Pap want to talk to her. It seemed like the one that always wanna talk is, you know what I'm saying? The quote, you know what I'm saying? That's the one that always wanna talk, yo. She don't ever know how to just be like, look, yo, I ain't here to talk about that. I don't get, you know what I mean? That's what I want her to do, though. To be honest, like, yeah, I just, I really do want her to get to a point where she could be like, look, fuck all that.
51:21Jess Hilarious:The rest, we gonna move in silence with. I ain't got time to be nobody clickbait. I don't want nobody to keep asking me how long I'm gonna be with this woman's husband. I ain't got time for that shit. Listen, listen, listen. I'm happy. I'm with my guy. What y 'all see is what y 'all get. That's it. Boom. Don't even keep bringing up Remy. Gotcha. Like, don't bring her up. You know what I'm saying? Just don't do it. You know? Because he telling you what he telling you. You know what I'm saying? I'm not saying it's a lie. I'm just saying niggas is always on your head because, not because you ranting and raving about being with Pep, but you always allow whoever's interviewing you to get you, to trick you out your spot to always bring this lady up.
52:09Like, don't bring
52:11Jess Hilarious:her up. You know? Before the interview you can say, yo, listen. Just don't. Don't even bring women out. You know what I'm saying? Just don't do it. Let's talk about me and what I got going on. And I know sure, you know what I'm saying? I know sure he can fight but just still, like all that shit don't matter. Fuck a nigga up, nigga say something stupid. You know what I'm saying? Absolutely, and I do believe that. You know what I'm saying?
52:29Tony Yayo:Remy shoots.
52:30Jess Hilarious:You know what I'm saying? And that's different, you know what I mean? But just still. Shout out to the shooters. Outside of that, like, yo, just, it's all right. Just like, tunnel vision. Right. Your fighting, amazing. You know what I'm saying? Your career. You in love with a man that loves you, that got your back.
52:48Tony Yayo:Right.
52:48Jess Hilarious:Boom. Let's keep pumping that, pushing that. Don't bring up the other side at all. You know what I'm saying? Because they're going to ask them questions trying to go viral.
52:56Tony Yayo:Yeah, yeah. You know, and she always let them do that. How do you balance everything? Because we just started this podcast. I got this food show with Complex. Shout out to the Feed Yeo Show. Listen. Back, shout out to the Feed Yeo Show. Look, and like just running around with 50 doing show. I'm tired as fuck. I ain't going to lie. How do you balance that? Because you a mom. I'm not a mother. I know being a mother, shout out to all the mothers out there, single or with your man. But you a father, my brother, and a good father. I know I'm a father, but a mother's always ahead of a father. I appreciate that.
53:24Tony Yayo:Come on, let's check. I appreciate that. Muppets day, they getting everything. I know we getting those socks. It's a little socks. Thank you, yeah, yo. How do you balance that? Waking up in the morning, the breakfast club is like six in the morning. You got to wake up. Yes, I got to wake up at 3.45.
53:37Jess Hilarious:I got to do makeup. I got to, you know, the baby. And I got, man, listen, I'd be lying to you if I told you, yo, this is how I'm balancing it. So I do this and I take a cup of this and then I do. Nigga, I'm still trying. I'm just as tired as you, yo. I don't know how, you know? Like, I don't even know the last time I actually really got to have a full 24 hours to my fucking self. Like, to be honest with you, because I'm still got to think about it. Monday through Friday, I'm waking up 345 makeup, trying to find someone. Because now now I got to be seen. So I got to make sure I'm coming with outfits.
54:09Jess Hilarious:I got to make sure my makeup is cool. The wigs is on tight and shit. You know what I'm saying? Buttoned up and all that. Zipping up the shit in the back, making sure it's all good. You know, and then you got breakfast. club from six to however the fuck is we can have three four interviews that we've been here till 12 o 'clock then i go home i write comedy or i write skits and shit because i got to keep up with the internet presence you know i'm saying because that's how i got here you know i would never never just let that dwindle away of course of course i still got shows friday and saturday i had to cut sundays which cut a lot of my bread on the road you know what i mean because i did sunday i would do thursday friday saturday and sunday baby i got like i need time but but i can't do it because i like our breakfast club.
54:48Jess Hilarious:Now that we live on Netflix, it requires me to have to be in the studio. I mean, if I absolutely have to be virtual, I can, but for the most part, nah, I don't want that energy in the room. Nah, you got to be there, you got to be there. Yeah, because it works when the chemistry is there, you know, one-on-one, you know, all four of us and shit. So like, gotta do that, yo. And then I'm a mom, then I'm a wife. You know what I mean? I'm very family oriented. I miss my parents, niggas. Sometimes I just want to go home. I almost, so yo, sometimes - You can't be too busy for your husband, man. No, no, no.
55:19He made sure a bitch ain't too bitch. All right, gotcha, okay. Come here real quick, come here. All right, gotcha, okay, cool. I'm gonna talk to you. That's my guy. Okay, that's right, that's right, that's right. Absolutely, man.
55:29Jess Hilarious:But then I got the little kids, you know what I mean? My little girl, she about to be two. She like, where you going? Like, I'm like, I got a two-year-old right now. He is a animal. He ain't, no, he's a little little two. Yes, it's really terrible two. Terrible two. I know I had to be up early for this this morning, right? and you think I'm playing, yeah? I took a video on my phone. Last night, one in the morning, he's dressed up as Spider-Man and making me watch Spider-Man. Not playing. Making me watch Spider-Man dressed up as Spider-Man. Because you know the new one just came out, nigga. Yeah, this is what we're doing, dad.
56:02Stop playing with him. It's one o 'clock, yo. Shout out to Kaya, that's my baby boy. Oh, what's his name?
56:07Tony Yayo:Kaya, Kaya. Oh, I love that. But being a mother is a little harder, baby, because the baby is coming out of their body. Oh, my God. Oh, of course. Hey, you ain't lying about that part.
56:16Jess Hilarious:Did you do the epidural shot? No, I did not. What? I didn't do epidural. I had, I do it a natural, vaginal, push that little ass out of there. Nah, I know. I know. Yo, one thing about them epidural is I had epidural with my son and I could have sued the fucking hospital because I was so young, yo. I was young. I was 20. I was like, yo, kill the pain. Like, I just need something for this pain and shit. Anyway, all right, cool. He had a student coming in. She did this shit. The doctor was watching her, but she was so fucking scared. She was shaking. She was like, right here, right here. And I feel, I'm like, all right.
56:54Jess Hilarious:Yeah, she don't know what she's doing. But as long as the doctor back there, I'm good. I'm like, yo, hurry the fuck up. This shit hurts. So she just went in. She had to re-stick me. She went in the wrong way. That's a long ass needle that they got to put in your back so it can hit your spine. Infuse the medicine. And then you instantly feel a relief. You know, you go numb. You feel the pressure, but you go numb. Yo, they had to stick me like two or three times. The doctor ended up saying, yo, move, I just do it. I could have sued them. Didn't even know until I was like 30. You could lose your legs.
57:24Tony Yayo:You could lose your legs. Man, yeah, shit the, yo, one wrong move, you are done.
57:29Jess Hilarious:You know what I mean? So I'm like, y 'all could have sued them, but I was like, you know what? Fuck all that. So I vowed to never do the fucking epidural again. I don't give a fuck how many kids, I don't care how big the baby is. If it split me, man, sew me up, just give me a blunt, I'll be good. Like, you know what I'm saying? I can't do that shit, you know, but that's why I never did epidural. But yeah, I did the epidural with my daughter, slid her ass out. Look at that, man. Period. Look at that. And breastfed, all of that shit. Out of everything, the breastfeeding was the hardest. That shit hurt, man.
57:59You don't hear them say that a lot, man. I got kids, so I know they don't really like that. Y 'all don't, the females really kind of hate that.
58:04Jess Hilarious:Oh, my God. The way the baby starts biting on them nipples. Yes, because they trying to bite the seed. Like, come on, because one nipple might not be, you know, the flow ain't as good as the other one. and so they want this one, but you want this one so much that shit hurts. So it's like, no, you gonna find some milk in this one, motherfucker, I don't care. You know, but I did that, I pushed through that shit. I did that, I was doing that at breakfast when I came back to work.
58:25Tony Yayo:What do they call it again? What? Postpartum depression? Absolutely, yeah. And work, how do you balance that? All the women that are pregnant, that just had a baby out there, the women they wanna know like, how do you work? How do you work? Let's talk about all the things. You got a book coming, you got a tour coming. already. The book is out there. You're on tour and you have one of the biggest shows in the world. And how do you deal with postpartum and work and keeping everything balanced? The end of life. Still gotta be on Instagram making it look good. But you stressed like a motherfucker.
59:00Talk about that. That's how I promote my shows.
59:02Jess Hilarious:That's how I promote everything. You know, everything goes back to, you know, the social platform and shit. But y 'all, honestly I'm out of it now. But But I think I started feeling like myself when my daughter was like, like, like last, last Christmas, I will say. So she was she was one, like one in one in three months. OK. And that's when I got back. Yo, but you don't even really know. I can't speak for anybody else, but I didn't know that I was depressed, like from postpartum. Until I came out of it, like I just wasn't feeling funny. I didn't wanna eat. I couldn't do shit. I was like, yo, I ain't even wanna go on the road.
59:48Jess Hilarious:I was like, yo, I'm gonna be replaced at work. They replacing me with this other girl shit. And then I was like, yo, I don't feel - Lauren, you was fucking shit up, man. You was fucking shit up, Lauren. That's the whole shit, man. That's the whole shit, man. That's the whole shit, man. We gonna get you on the show too, man. I was like, yo, I don't know what the fuck is happening right now. I don't feel funny. I don't feel like I can go in front. Yo, that first show, I never forget. I went to New Brunswick, New Jersey, the Stress Factory in New Brunswick. My first show coming off of having my baby.
1:00:19Jess Hilarious:I think my daughter was like, I brought her there with me because I had to breastfeed in between shows and shit. What? Yo, hell yeah, man. Breastfeed between shows? Man, what? Yeah, she working. I could be a mother. Nigga, I was breastfeeding in between shows. I'm up there, my titties burning and shit. I'm like, yo. Like, you know what I mean? And I was still emotional, so I cried after the show. I'm like, yo, y 'all really came out for me. Thank you. Everybody looking like, nigga, you just hilarious. What the fuck you mean? And I'm like, that's what postpartum depression does to you. It makes you forget who you are.
1:00:53Jess Hilarious:It makes you forget your greatness, all the greatness that you got. Like, I wasn't creative. I wasn't, I felt like I wasn't shit. I didn't feel pretty. And no matter how many times my husband was like, nah, you're beautiful. You're still the love of my life. Like, what the fuck you mean? You just gave me my first daughter. And I still was like, I can't get shit right. I don't know, I suck in radio, I can't do shit. You see they bought the other girl up there to get, you know what I'm saying? It was just a lot. And then when I came back, it was still even hard, like getting back into the rhythm and shit.
1:01:21Like, man, everything, you know.
1:01:24Jess Hilarious:And I was just like, all right, yeah. I don't know what's happening. And then so it was, I had writer's block for a while. I was on stage. I just had to like come off the top of the head on anything, cause I couldn't even write. I was at a standstill with everything. Stagnation was for real, like my middle name, for like a year. And then I started getting it back. Started getting my shit right. And I was like, all right, cool, cool. But you know what? I started deep diving into my Bible, praying, watching these sermons. Ladies need their head to know how they can deal with this shit and come out of that, man.
1:01:59Jess Hilarious:Yes, like to be honest, you know what I mean? My God, definitely be your honest. I can't put on that. Yeah, man, I don't care. Like I was like, that's honest, like honest to God truth. I was like, all right, cool. I started praying. And at first when I was in it, I didn't even feel like I was praying, right? I'm like, yo, I keep messing up on this prayer. And it's just like - It don't even matter. My husband was like, yo, you don't need a script. Of course, facts. To pray. Like, yo, what's wrong with you? Like, just talk to him. And after, like, after a while, after my daughter turned one and all of that shit, I was like, look, God, look, I don't know what's happening.
1:02:30Jess Hilarious:You know what I mean? Like, please, like, help me. And I started reading my Bible and I just started praying. I asked my husband, can he pray for me? help me pray out of this. Like, help me pray myself out of this. I can't, you know, and that's what happened. I just really, really just leaned on my faith. Yo, like, all right. And then I was like, I should have did this earlier. But you know, yes, God is good all the time. All the time. God is good.
1:02:52Tony Yayo:So you're going to be at the Hard Rock November 14th and 15th. Yeah, we in the building. Come on, we in the building, man.
1:02:58Jess Hilarious:We in the comedy festival. Y 'all need to be here. We in the building, Jess.
1:03:00Tony Yayo:And when the tour actually kicks off?
1:03:02Jess Hilarious:Man, so the tour kicked off back in December, bro. I'm on tour right now.
1:03:06Tony Yayo:It's just that you've been doing so fucking much. Jess is busy, busy. Yeah, oh shit. Jess been busy, busy. Well, I gotta catch you.
1:03:12Jess Hilarious:I gotta catch a show. Yes, yes. And the book is out now where we can find a book. The book is out now. Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, wherever you find your books, wherever y 'all, it's out now. So, definitely. Make sure you get that. Definitely. And make sure y 'all catch Jess on The Breakfast Club, on Netflix, all the old YouTube fans, cover our shit, The Real Report, we outside.
1:03:31Tony Yayo:Catch her tour, catch her book. All that. And she definitely can help you co-parent and give women And make some good advice. And make sure you go get the kids book, a Merry Christmas book. Uncle Murda book, yes, man. Uncle Murda the kids book, you heard? Shout out to the kids. This is so fire. Merry Christmas, you know the kids love dinosaurs. So it's a Christmas story about dinosaurs. You heard?
