2:50This right here is going to fuck you up, bro. It's going to make everybody understand how important brotherhood is. What y 'all doing here, just brotherhood. You know what I'm saying? What we doing, me and Chris, that's brotherhood. It ain't even a competition. That's not what this is. This is a celebration, bro.
3:20Yeah, yeah, what up, y 'all? This is Joe Crack the Don. You know who it is, your boy Jada. You know what it is, the Joe and Jada show. Every show legendary, every show iconic. When you think of today's guests, you think of consistency at its highest level. You think of somebody who came in the game young, found his sound and then built the whole legacy of hard work reinvention and timeless records from my way 8701 from confessions to the world stage he gave R &B records that became moments in people's lives he influenced the way artists perform the way they move the way they make a full show feel like an event and today before he steps out here on that MetLife Stadium stage for a major night alongside our brother Chris Brown and Mario we got the legend in the building A-Town's home ladies and gentlemen make some noise for our brother Usher
4:46How you feeling? I feel great, bro. You're giving me botteg. I got the botteg and couch in the dressing room. It's just different over here. Great. Amazing. We have to make it feel like we're home. The whole idea out here is to celebrate history. That's what you're talking about, man. I feel happy to be able to be on y 'all show, man. Just celebrate y 'all. Y 'all my brothers. You know what I'm saying? Before anything, y 'all icons yourselves. You know what I'm saying? And to be fortunate to have the opportunity to share the stage with you, Joe, in Puerto Rico and then share classic smash with you throwback.
5:25Y 'all got it. I'm really happy to be able to come to the MetLife Stadium and be able to shut it down. You know what I'm saying? You know, let me tell you something. It ain't happened yet, but you know what's going to happen. against the company. You know what I'm saying? You know what's going to happen. You know what's going to happen tonight. You blew up. I didn't give a fuck. Benjamin's all that. I was always like, all right, Jade is like, you know, he's not a super duper star yet. And when Usher tapped you, and it was like, ooh, I want to know you back. And I heard you, I said, holy shit, this guy's a superstar.
6:01Usher tapped him on the shoulder. What the fuck was that like And the record. The record is a classic song forever. Yeah, man. I'm going to tell you, it felt like, for one, when you get the call from us, you already know what that is. To be on that project. Just Blaze. Just Blaze. Yeah. And I'm like, yo, this my brother. Us, yours. This like a hovor. Najee. The beat was so... I'm like, how the hell did they make... That was the greatest layup for you. Yeah, the marriage... Because that beat was so... It was so beautiful. By the way, the people who write music out there... Woo! The beat is almost like 99.9%.
6:50When that shit come on, it's almost like you don't even got to rap. I love the song. Yeah, it already wrote it for me. Everything in that album was purposeful. everything, the conversations, you know what I'm saying? God works in mysterious ways. I don't know if you know this. I've said this to you before. I don't know if you remember Kiss. But originally I went to Just Blaze because I wanted a record with Jay. And I was like, yo, I really think that this could be the one. But that's not how God would see it, bro. And when me and Rico got together, me, Rico, Brian Lovett, Just Blaze put it all together.
7:29it was like yo Kiss is the only person who could do this I mean no offense but it was like that's what I just said it was like the ultimate alley-oop because it's like you you created an ill hit that was almost like you know when you hear records like I used to hear records and be like oh that's a Flo Rida that's a Nelly record somebody if I don't play you a record you be like yo Nelly will buy that shit or Cardi B because you know I'm Latino so they throw me all they try to play me them bits I'll be like yo Cardi B fuck this shit up what we saying is when I heard that that was Jadakiss I was working on my album I shut that shit down everything shut down hold off the usher and put my album on hold to this I had a moment my moment like that was LL Cool J's I Shot You I Couldn't Believe I rap with Prodigy.
8:27Foxy Brown must have really, that's the first time she ever made it. She was baby. She's the first song she ever did. You got Keith Murray. You got LL when the man is the biggest in the world. So when they said, yo, Joe, we want you, I don't know how to come with that. Who the fuck you think you talking to? I paid dudes, I sprayed crews, because I didn't motherfuckers going to be like, why is that guy? I was such a, you know, I don't know if you two ever had that. You came out with Puff and Bang and Mason. Nigga, I was really selling three records. I was like at Crackhead Records. Nigga, I really came from the struggle.
9:09It was like first week sales, 10 records. Don't worry. Common Soul 20. Don't worry. You can ride this one out. Yeah, I was at the Crackhead. It was crazy. I remember when Puff used to have of us all running together, you know what I'm saying, when I was much, much younger, you know what I'm saying? And then, you know what I'm saying, like being able to be out there with Pekka's, it was like, we was always family no matter where you were. Yeah, I was from Atlanta, from the South, and we hadn't naturally made that hip-hop connection yet. Outkast was still baking, you know what I'm saying? I was here young with Puff.
9:46I remember the first time we ran into each other, but it was like in the Palladium or some shit like that. You know what I'm saying? It was like Big was on stage, We was doing partying and bullshit. Remember that whole scene when everybody brushed the stage? I want to say that that night's the first night I had seen Jay-Z before, but that night's the first night me and Jay-Z ever said hi to each other. Like, he was like, yeah, because his first album, he sampled, bring it on if you think you can hang. So he was like, yo, I just sampled your shit. It's coming. Like, I didn't even know what the fuck sample was or any of that shit, but, you know, he told me that and I was like, all right, yo.
10:23and then um but that night was a historical night at that palladium i mean many many nights was historical bro like the fact that howard homecoming we used to always be around each other bro like we just managed to always continue to grow the locks got an ill story k had a broke leg i had a book and i must have had a book i must have did howard did one of them then i had a i had a party out. Kay had a broke line. I remember we had to get him a couch in the section. What? We was young. He come in. We had mad shots. He'd dap us up. He'd throw about one or two of them back. He'd look over there. He got no shirt on.
11:05He's on the thing. He got the whole club going. I said, yo, that was the good old days, though. Hershey came right in. What's up? Threw two shots back. I seen him over there dancing. You know, I'm skipping maybe 20 years, but I don't know if you seen this clip, I had said it went viral that when you was in the studio with Rico Love, I was hanging out with you. If you let Fat Joe tell a story, I'll say I'll convince you to do some of those songs. We're in Miami. Nah, if you let Fat Joe, you might want to throw a flag to this, nigga. I might have convinced Usher to take some of those songs. You know, Kelly Rowland's joint Rico Love, I almost forced her to take it.
11:45She was like, I don't know. I was like, do it. to this day when Kelly see me, she give me the longest hug you ever seen in your life. She's like, thank you for convincing me to do that song. You know, Rico Love, he had the battery, you know, he had the mouth for the South before the people knew, you know, in the studio with him like, yo, Austin, I'm telling you, that shit is crazy. Yo, Austin, that shit crazy. That night he kept telling me, yo, take me to the club. And the only club open was Stogged Out entertainment. So I don't never want to take you somewhere where some shit might happen, right?
12:21He was like, it's way before the wife. He was like, yo, I gotta take me to the mommy's and he was sipping. So the mommy's he really had to go in the trenches. Like, I'm like tonight's Tuesday? So we go. I said, fuck it. We go look like he want to cry. He's like, damn nigga taking up. He knew where you was going. And I go in there and I look at the man and the man levitating in one spot.
12:56And yo, listen, because the thing about celebrities, listen, guys, the way to become cool with a celebrity is you got to act, you know, respectful, but you almost got to act like you've been here before. I look, this nigga's levitating in one spot. The whole club is looking at him. and I gotta act like I saw I gotta act like I see somebody else do it but then I look back again and he's like and I'm like is this motherfucker floating it wasn't that's what I was like mama there goes that man yo you remember that shit huh that's crazy you still get nervous after all these years cause you doing a lot of hard working up there though singing choreography feet.
13:45Then there's theater. It's a bunch of things combined. Do you ever get a little bit of butterflies? Nah, man. It's legacy time, bro. I feel fortunate, man, to be able to say that I've been doing this long enough to be the youngest of the oldest and the better yet, the oldest of the youngest and the youngest of the oldest. You know what I'm saying? As a legacy artist, to be able to continue to still keep it together because this whole tour, right, is about bringing bookends together. You know what I'm saying? We see what Chris has been doing. We see what I've done and we've done records together, but being able to get on stage, we in our comfort zone.
14:23He's been touring for the past, you know, three years plus I've been touring for the past three years. We've been talking about it for so long. If anything, it's anticipation. I'm like, I'm feeling the nerves because I'm ready to get out and tell shit up. You know what I'm saying? Every single night we go in, We say a prayer before we hit the stage, man, give thanks and go out there. And we allow the audience to see what they came to see an incredible show. So now, if anything, I'm in, I'm deep in anticipation, bro. Funny thing. Hold on. Let me tell you something about Rico. Cause, cause you know, I actually put the battery in Rico's back.
14:57Not many, not many people go all the way back to the beginning of Rico's career. But when Rico, I signed Rico as a, as a, as a artist and, and was like, yo, I really do think that. That's why he love you so much, man. I think you need to be a writer, bro. Like, for real. Like, not to say that you're not an incredible artist, but you have a way of being able to articulate what you're trying to say in a way that people can get it instantly and they feel it. And I took him on the road with me, man. We went on tour for Confessions. Matter of fact, after he gave me the record, I was like, yo, Rico, I want you to come out and you do your verse.
15:30Because he did a verse for the song as well. But man, I'll tell you a funny story. We were in Milwaukee, right? Rico, he don't know no better. You know what I'm saying? He just, you know, in the VIP hanging out with us. You know what I'm saying? And it's mad chicks in there, right? So all of a sudden, bottles just start coming out of nowhere. I'm like, who came out of these bottles? I look over at Rico. Rico passing bottles to the chicks. I'm like, hey, bro, what is you doing? He was like, yo, I'm just doing what they do in the videos. I thought everybody take a bottle. You know what I'm saying?
16:01I'm like, bro. No, Rico. Yo, the moments. Yo, we went through like 40 bottles, bro. Yo, you know the moments. And we in Milwaukee. Let me tell you something. The moments that God has let us have in life, like these big moments in life. I think I was telling Danny earlier before you came, I was telling his stylist, I was like, yo, Danny, like, you know, I had the number one song, then I had the worst sales ever created, seeing people change on me everything and then knock the number one song out and seen them all come back and then fell off again and then the number one yesterday's price is not today's price so by shit is I've been able to see so many different moments and be able to appreciate sometimes when you win win win win win win win some people don't even know who their friends is or who's really going to be with him or whatever the case may be.
17:03If all you're doing is winning and you the king, and we just like, yo, yo, yo, yo, you really wouldn't know. You got to see. Real talk, if you want to fuck on me when I was down, you ain't fuck on me while I'm up. That's a fact. I mean, I understand. We make new acquaintance, but no new friends. You know what I'm saying? And the reality is to be able to know that there's always people behind champion. You know what I'm saying? Like, Peckus was like, yo, no, no, You need to know, Joe. You need to know this. This is your family. You know what I'm saying? When you're not, when I'm not there, they got you.
17:35I bet. You know what I'm saying? But to be able to understand that you always have people supporting you, like Gooch, for instance. You know what I'm saying? Nobody understands how incredible Gooch is. Nobody understands what Mark Pitts is. If we didn't have Mark Pitts, we wouldn't have Big, bro. If we didn't have Mark Pitts, we wouldn't have all of, like, incredible artists. If we didn't have Mark Pitts, we wouldn't have this tour. Yeah. Chris Brown wouldn't be here. That's ill. Confessions wouldn't be here. That's ill. That's a fact, too. Yeah, man. But you want to know what's crazy is, right, because we're going all over.
18:09We got too much history, so we all over the place, but when I opened Instagram, it said, Usher Chris, I thought that was fake and shit the fuck. I said, oh no. It was too good to be true. What do you want? It's nothing else. That's the epitome of the epitome. What do you want me to do? There's been the argument on every stoop in front of the building. I mean, we keeping it beautiful. But what I'm saying is, it's always been like, who's the best? Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas? It's always been Usher or Chris. And for both of y 'all to put them egos aside and say, y 'all, let's give them what they want. Because the bread is too monstrous.
18:55I don't even want to kill myself if I start thinking about the bread. Brothers from our culture can get together and do it. What? And when they do it, and you do it like you did it for your verses, my nigga.
19:13Blaze, bro. Come on, man. I had a little bit... I had a little... I knew you were... It was breezy that night mixed with some other people. You want to know what's crazy, Usher? because once again, today I came in a talkative mood, but I was trying to tell. Today? Today I really came in. I'll be like, I'm rich. Only today? I feel like I got hot. Whatever you smoke weed feel like, I feel like I got it. For a few visions, this shit is like too legit, right? So, but I tell her that, you know, I really, really, really, really, really, really, this is a problem for people, what I'm about to say, right?
19:56because it's not like blasphemy or whatever, but it's a real problem for the greatest hip-hop historian to doubt that I'm not from the block that created hip-hop. Do you know how hard it is for someone to humanly tell you that I'm from the block? With Grandmaster Flash, lives across the street, and Melly Mel here, Mr. Ness here, the first Latino MC around the corner, first female MC on the basketball court playing back. I'm from the... No! Ruby D. Two blocks to me. They're from my block. I'm just five years old and I'm watching all this shit. I watched Melly Mel leave my block and turned on the Grammys that night and seen him come out and go, Shaka Khan, Shaka Khan.
20:43Guess where he was at the next day? On my block. It was un-fucking-real is what I'm trying to explain to you. So what I'm saying is, with being all that set, right, just as a fan that night that dip set locks that was that gave me the feeling I had never felt in my life I had heard it but I was only five years old I couldn't go in the block party with Busy B Battle Kumo D I know my brother came with the cassette every night you reminded everybody in the world what hip hop really is bro appreciate that bro I know what I'm saying yeah it was real bro yeah It was crazy. It was a good night. It was a good feeling.
21:28He blew up so much. Yesterday's price, not today's price. He was in ATL the next day. He was on a private plane, Kanye West. They had that shit in the arena. Yeah, it was in the A client. You went right from versus, you got a call. How does that work? You get a phone call from Kanye and say, yo, come down to Atlanta. I got a phone call from anybody. it. Actually, you know what I mean? Yeah, you reminded me. The phone was going crazy. That phone, that Rolodex that day was nuts. The phone was going crazy. The phone was going crazy. But yeah, no, he called. It was crazy because mad people called and said, five people called and said, four people is going to call you.
22:11Then Kanye is going to call you. I'm like, God damn, how many, what did he do? Then I finally spoke to you. He's like, yo, come to Atlanta. I need you to get on Donda. You send a bird, huh? 11 o 'clock, Natina. Yeah, right. Send a tail number. We was out. Natina sent the bird, huh? Natina. Natina get money from me, man. And she ain't giving me no fucking private place or nothing like that. She like, brother, I need some bread. She ain't giving me no private place. She ain't giving me one either. 26:54When was that moment for you where you felt like I'm a superstar? I think you gotta put duper. No, no, no, no, no, no. But there's a difference when you say to yourself, I made it as a, that's what I tell you when I, I'm not going to lie to you. I heard you, Mariah Carey. I heard you with everybody. When you did that shit with Usher, he's considered a superstar. They called you for the fucking Usher album to rap on. It's not, alright, what I'm saying, when's the moment that you said to yourself, was it early? Was it mid-career? What was it when you said? It was early, man. It was early? It was early.
27:38I had really humble beginnings. My first album didn't do what everybody expected it to, but you know what I'm saying? I kept pushing and was trying to figure it out. I started really going back to my roots and I'd always really wanted to work with Jermaine Dupri. When you connected, it was like, oh, this is it. Kwan, Preth, KP, you know what I'm saying? And me, LA, we locked in with JD and it became real, man. Like, You Make Me Wanna was when it all completely changed. It was like, oh yeah, it's real. You make me wanna lead the one I'm with. Women ain't really, really love that much. Can you tell her, you make me wanna lead the one I'm with.
28:18Start a new... Sing your shit. Sing it. There you go. So what you do... I mean, you know, there was a... There was... Who was it R &B early 90s that was singing, damn, I think it was Donnell Jones, one of them that had a song where he's telling her, I'm sorry, but I gotta go. I just love my baby girl a message that will be coming home. I'd rather be, you couldn't enjoy that as a man. Yeah. Just singing. I told my baby that I gotta go. I'd rather do that that that hurts you. But I was like, oh, I sing that shit. Nigga, plates was flying in that crib. Are you crazy? You couldn't even... There's certain shit you can't even sing back.
29:03Like, you're like... You know the song, right? That shit is like some other, like, girl don't want to hear that. They don't want to hear that. They do not want to hear you out of here. Like, you know, that shit... We had classic moments, yo. Like, Carl Thomas was in love with him. Wish I Never Met Her. That was another one of them joints. Wish I Never Met Her. That was crazy. It was classic. You know what's my call time this moment? Well, I got two. Two? Oh, I got two. But one, he had nothing to do with. I walk into Rucka. It's when everybody's wearing 10X white tees. And that fucking summer rain came on.
29:40Ooh, yeah. Summer rain. Shout out to DJ Rodgers. You know what I'm saying? Fucking summer rain. Did it haul him? You talking about haul him? Them niggas got out there in the summer rain. Wish me the shape and race me. up again. Thugs, nigga, with dude rags. That's when I said, oh my God, this is our boy. Yeah. That's crazy. We had a bunch of moments. We lucky. The other one was, I don't know if we talked too much, but I used to throw this pool party in Miami all the time and R. Kelly, you know, he just pulled up on me and performed for like two hours straight for no reason. Like, you know, pulled the bus up.
30:24I'm talking about Kells. Listen, listen. Kells pulled up for no reason, came to the party, and started going ham. I don't know if you was there. Everybody was in the camera. Everybody. It was Memorial Weekend. Carl Thomas, he was hot. These records we talking about. He got on the stage to try to grab Kells' mic. You never grab a king's mic. You never grab a King's mic when he's at work. Who do you think you are in the middle of the party in front of 5 ,000 people? Can't wear the miswrites in front of everybody. Told them that. And then Fiesta, early in the morning when the fire can fight. I'm looking at Carl Thomas like, oh my God, can they both from Chicago?
31:19I was like a little man. A little man. Yo, but Carl Thomas was high. He did this summer rain in there. He got it all. He tried to get it off. Kelsey's like, not tonight. No, it was no beef. It was no beef. It's like a Shaka Khan moment, she tell. Because I hear Shaka Khan definitely told some other singers like show. She'll with EPMD. Shaka Khan? You know, we all we all crazy man that's why we we can't believe that you guys got a tour together because it's like all artists got a little twist of crazy to them yeah you need that shit yeah that's what make it that's what make it fun that's the part we do documentaries about later you know what I'm saying but the idea of you said it like to be able to do something that no one has ever done at their peak you know what I'm saying like imagine if Michael and Prince would have been able to do something together.
32:23You know what I'm saying? This is the closest we're going to get to that. I mean, the closest we probably ever would have gotten to it is with New Edition with Bobby Brown and that, because they were such a force themselves. You know what I'm saying? But this is something else, man. This is another level. I think one day we did Best Groups and we said New Edition. I'm just saying at that peak. You know what I'm saying? Like when we were younger. You know what I'm saying? Like when they went on tour together. Who's your favorite groups in R &B history? R &B history. I fuck with H-Town. I fuck with Jodeci.
32:57You know, Boyz II Men. Of course, you know, 112. Gotta get 112 back together, man. Oh, man. You know what I'm saying? They need to put the band back. Yeah, man. Yeah. Well, that sucks. Intro, you know what I mean? Our favorite artists don't get along and the groups break up. That sucks. It takes putting that ego aside. You know what I'm saying? I mean, and that's what this was. I'm going to give you one you missed, and they right under your nose is Jagged Edge. Jagged Edge, of course. I mean, you stopped me. You know what I'm saying? We was going. Stopped him. He was good. I wasn't done. All right, all right.
33:35Keep going, then. Keep going. Keep going. Nah, but Jagged Edge is the truth. And then, obviously, you know, you got Destiny's Child, because it goes females as well. Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? See, people get mad at me when I put people in different levels. There's no conversation. Look, we're not delusional. It's our shit. It's Chris Brown. There is no other conversation to be had. So sometimes when you say Destiny, child, they're not in this category. These girls is in another... It's Destiny, child. We talking greatest of all time. No, no, no, but you're right. But what I'm saying to you is just sometimes you might mention somebody that's like asteroid.
34:22All right. Yeah. All right. What female group comes after Destiny? Not after, but who you dare say now? Nah, that ain't fair. That ain't fair, right? Yeah, that ain't fair. That's what I'm trying to say. You can't really, yeah, you can't really follow it. Yes, this is what I'm saying. All the DJs got mad at me because I was like, yo, DJ Khaled. I mean, he's a DJ, but hey, he's coming to my birthday party. I ain't asking him a DJ. you just too big now like how the fuck I told him yo we getting a Cuban cigar maker to make you cigars while you stick like come on man it's just different conversations there's levels to this shit yes I'm saying crack there's levels to this shit you see this no this is it fuck you to tell you this is level me and me just don't be having this unless we're special guests that's it nah you ain't making no white curtains nah 50 candles and shit like they just made yo don't do that never y 'all kiss doesn't end you will be by a rusty staircase like Eddie Kane we be in the staircase like one day it's a little a figment one day he didn't even know ignorance is bliss but one day they robbing every rapper in Chicago and they set out an APB and I mean a real APB like yo Joe be very careful you know They robbing everybody out here and nobody is like exonerated from the shit.
35:57Like everybody. You run into these bundleros, these pistoleros. Oh, you better come right because they're going to do it. More to the story is I wear more jewelry than I ever wore in my life. Right? The shit is the theater in the hood of Chicago. I mean, pimps with no legs on wheelchairs with the fucking pink pinstice suit. Y 'all, I'm telling you, this shit was out of control. Every gang in Chicago, this shit was like, it was. The moral to the story is the first second I walk in, I see the guy who's robbing everybody in Chicago. You know, I got my space. I'm watching the guy who's saying, don't come to fucking Chicago.
36:47You know, I know. Right? So I see him the first second, the man look at me. Yo, what's up, crack? What's up, big homie? Nothing but love for you. I was like, all right, my brother. It's all love. He left. But there was so much tension. At the end of the day, they start the biggest riot in that crowd. Right? And the person who booked me was rest in peace, Anthony Mason from Chicago. I don't know if that's the same person who booked you. he booked me Anthony Mason from the New York Knicks booked me he grabbed my shoulders and pushed me out that door so fast yeah go Joe go like he's from there whatever he knew this shit was like Hannibal and Barrett this shit turned into you know this shit was and my DJ LV was in front of me with the equipment with the wires imagine some shit happened right now and the cameramen's are running out with the wires before he's running with the equipment with the wires in it and I stopped and I look at him and I said yo LV we gotta plug this shit back up LV looked at me what I said if we leave now we're gonna forever be pussy in Chicago and when he pressed play it was leaned back the whole place stopped fighting they forgot they were fighting And they all just lean back with number one.
38:18And the reason I say this story is because you was in there that night. I don't know if you knew the craziness that was going on in that motherfucker. Like, you ever been in a spot that just went upside down? Yeah. Yeah. Plenty. Plenty. Plenty. I tell you, we used to run together. No, no, I used to see you. Yeah. You was in New York around us, you know what I'm saying? and you know you know what's crazy is I got another fun story I know I got to interview you but I tell you I go today for some reason I wake up and I play because it's very similar because I met you like 14 years old and I know Tiana Taylor since she's 14 years old and I ain't going to lie to you I little sis her all the time like I know her from coming with the little bike and I'm always and she calls me Unk because I met her at 14 and you know it's like y 'all this is my niece I do that today that fucking record came on that oh you're gonna love me sometimes I said my god have I been sleeping on my little sister what the fuck you know it's one of them days a song catch you yeah and I played it back like 10 times.
39:44I got the sound system of the thing. Out of nowhere, the reggae tone come on. I said, what the fuck? I run out the room. Yo, I was in a supermarket. What? My brother-in-law just came from Columbia. The nigga blasted the reggae tone over the music session. The moment I was having, like embracing the song, he come, V-Round. I'm like, yo, this nigga, I love them and all that, but that's the moment. What's the record that does that for you that when you hear it, you know, it could be yours or anybody else's that when you hear it, it just puts you in a zone where you like, you don't want to turn the shit off.
40:25I don't want to turn it off, bro. Depends on how you feel. It all depends on where you are, bro. Like, you know, how they going to react when I drop New York in here?
40:45I got a hundred I got a hundred clips nigga I'm from New York that's gonna be crazy that's I don't know about you but that's the one song that so you know I gave that to Ja Rule by the way right he gave me What's Love when Punta had just passed away and I never forgot it. I was so loyal and that he's in the middle of all that smoke and Kool and Dre's like, yo, let's give it to Ja Rule. I said, let's give it to Ja. I got Jada on that song. But that's why the beef with 50 Cent happened because of that. That record either made you so happy or it made you so mad. It did even or because when we shot this video, it was like the Pied Piper people were coming out we did it in the real blocks of New York where people was coming out the fire escapes the back people with cats in their hands no no I mean like the real neighborhood the old lady was like yo that record I ain't gonna lie the only New York record that ever touched that record was the Jay-Z Alicia Keys that's another record that gives me I love that.
42:01That's one of the records for me when I hear this. Were you anywhere in the world and you feel like home? What's that ATL record that make you feel like you really in the ATL? If you could be in Dubai, wherever, and they play this shit, you right at that. Yeah. Oh, no. Yeah, it does that for me. You know what, though? I'm just saying. I'm a classic, though. I come from the era of New York that was the tunnels, you know what I'm saying? I'm stuck, you know what I'm saying? trying to find that feeling. The closest we get to it is D-Nice. You know what I'm saying? D-Nice? Yeah. And on occasion we get some over here and there.
42:38But like when they used to drop like no stopping. No stopping. It used to be crazy. Them feelings. It's like just the classic nature of like R &B. Those are the things that make you feel good. That turns into break. When you had them kind of song. I used to watch Larry Holmes when I was a kid walking to, here's so many things that held you down. Yeah. They finally cut you down. Him though you got a long way to go. They finally went crazy. They don't know. Yo, that's it. Yo, they used to come up in that. Or what was the name? The classic joint Family that went These are joints that's like barbecue music.
43:28Frankie Beverly. Frankie Beverly don't stop. Frankie's unmasked. Da, da, da. Da, da, da. Da, da, da. Da, da, da. Da, da, da. That's the whole film. He got the joints. Do you love what you feel? Da, da, da, da. Cause I love what you do to me. Well, that's what my birthday party gonna be like. That's all it's gonna be like. I'm doing the biggest, most sexiest, most... You see how this place smell? That's intentional, right? How about my party's outdoor and it's going to smell like this? Outdoor. AC outdoor. AC outdoor. And then it goes, bam, bam, bam. Whoa, whoa. You walk in and you're like, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.
44:18It's the only requirement for my birthday party is everybody got to have fun. You cannot sit there. It's one of my best friends on earth who came. What number is this for you, dog? Oh, I'm 56. Damn, okay. And I enjoy every day. I feel like, wow. And, you know, of course... I didn't mean to say, damn, my bad. Huh? I said, damn, my bad. I didn't mean to say, I was like, damn. I'm the flyest 56-year-old they have ever seen in the Himalayas of the... The Lords of London. Of the Himalayas. They do these best-dressed lists, and they put me 30 in. And I'm like, yo, I've been killing these niggas for so long.
45:02You know how we say Destiny's Child? Your man know. You know how we say Destiny's Child? Fat Joe might be in his own category. I go to the fucking supermarket Louis Vuitton down. Nigga, like, you'll never catch the beard wrong. Nothing. I've been giving these niggas hell in jail. Yo, like you said, Y 'all was in, you and Breezy always talked about doing it. How did y 'all, what was that conversation like when y 'all said, fuck it, it's time, this is, let's do it, man. It was without question, man. He and Mark Pitts, you know what I'm saying, had been talking. And Chris came up with the name R &B.
45:40You know what I'm saying, it was genius, you know what I'm saying. It was like Raymond Brown. I was getting asked for a better, just like. That's fire. Yeah, bro, it was crazy. So we've been talking about it for many, many years. You know what I'm saying? And like I fired my manager in the past, man. You know, I was working with Randy Phillips at the time and we were supposed to go out back then. And no offense, I went out on the tour, it was successful, but that's when we were originally supposed to do it way back then. And after that move, like he, for some reason, Chris was going through whatever he was going through.
46:14They were like, nah, it ain't really a good time. And so I was like, nah. So we ended that relationship. nonetheless, you know, it was still on my mind. We had still been working on it, working on records together. He do records for my album. I do records for his. We just kept talking. I just kept watching him build. I kept building. We just kept going, kept going. I was like, yo, there's no better time right now than right in this moment. This right here is going, it's going to fuck you up, bro. It's going to make everybody understand how important brotherhood is. What y 'all doing here, just brotherhood.
46:46You know what I'm saying? What we doing, me and Chris, that's brotherhood. It ain't even a competition. That's not what this is. This is a celebration, bro. And you know what's crazy is that's why we love the locks so much because they never split up and they real brothers. And us as men, it's very important that we show people true brotherhood. Yeah. And so somebody might have a problem with Jadakiss. I don't want to say it because, you know, somebody always got a problem with one of us, right? or Khaled or whoever, it's very important for me to stand next to Nori or Khaled or Kiss in the middle of whatever the worst shit is because you got to show the job.
47:32There's nothing wrong. We on a, our brand is loyalty. So it's like, you know, that what you're doing right there, you're doing so much for the fans. The culture. The culture because... The world need to see this. They need to see shit like this.

51:05And believe it or not, we live fantastic lives. I went to Hermes yesterday. He said, you stop and buy. I know the whole schedule. Why is it going to be real happy? This is Joe Crack, New York. When I walk into Hermes, they tell me, hey, us just pulling up. You know, we're getting the bags ready. I'm like, yeah, that's my brother right there. I didn't tell him this part. of it. But it's so important, man, to show that brotherhood because we got people whether we like it or not that really look up to us. Mark Pitts in the building. Yo, Mark, come in. Gucci Dunn, what's up, baby? Yo, Mark, come in, man.
51:45Dang, Mark Pitts. Royalty and so many things. I don't understand, man. What's up, baby? Yo, Mark, come in. We got to sit in the couch even though we got a mic set up for you. You're that important We were just singing your praises bro Yeah where's flags at I've been wanting to do that Every show I'm like Where's some flags at Where's some flags Come on Where's the flame brought that to the game He's a fool of a guy I've been wanting to do that shit That's a fool of flags right there Yo Yo, my brother. I know. I ain't had to pull him yet. Can we tell the people because you specialize. If it wasn't us, you wouldn't even be sitting on this couch.
52:39Yeah, bro. You specialize in what they call anonymity. Like you stay in the background. You rather be anonymous than all that. You ain't the guy. Dre Donovan, man, in the back. He made this shit happen. Some of the guys besides Usher Raymond that you signed. in the hip hop. We just got to let them know how ill you is. If Tommy Mottola pulled up, I'd have asked him the same shit. Cole. Yes. Chris Brown. Miguel. Yes. All out the park. All fucking Grand Slam. So James. Biggie Smalls. Biggie. Absolutely. I ain't sound big. I'm a man that's big. Same thing. Big major influence. Too much shit. I'm blessed, man.
53:26Yeah. I just, man, I've been a part of a lifestyle. I'm blessed. I love this. Absolutely. And what you say, Mark, when you look at life and wake up and life's great and there's tulips outside and flowers in the fur and just chirping because I know how you live. You're one of them guys. No, no, no, no. Not everybody. Listen, trust me. Sometimes when people say they met... When you hear some people's names, when you hear Mark pitch Just know it's a different kind of thing. I'm saying something else. What I am saying is this guy enjoys the finer things in life. What I'm saying is you hear guys that weren't this, and you look at it and you be like, yeah, I don't understand what they talking about, what they said.
54:08This guy knows how to live a life is what I'm trying to tell you. So how you feeling after all these years still making a big ass check, still living the life you want to live? I mean, I'm living the life because I feel good. Like, I feel like I made it because I'm enough. You know what I mean? I'm blessed. So I feel full. So at the end of the day, everything else is ice on the cake. I mean, so, but, um, and on top of us, as far as to what you talking about, I ain't done. Hey! Pull that ball! Pull up! Pull up! Pull up! Pull up!
54:57you need to know this say I own the museum of natural history you name some artists that will be up in a fucking museum like a Mona Lisa that you brought to the game or had an influence in their career that's what I'm saying the way I look at hip hop and the music we do is like a religion. And so I'm like, damn, that's one of the four founders who had a vision to do it. Like, you know, we talk about this tour is the best tour. It's Michael, it's Prince. We never thought it would happen. You had a part to do with both their careers. That's all I'm trying to explain. He has something to do with this tour.
55:39My people out there, that's how important this man is to the gang, to hip-hop culture, to music. No, this tour, first of all, you're saying it right now. I wanted to do this tour forever. This is like my dream come true. You know what I mean? Because I'm always telling them, you know, when you be watching these, you see these posters and pictures of like Frank Sinatra, you see Sam with David Jr. You always wonder, what the hell? The Rat Pack, yeah, man. What they doing? But we living in it. These kids, they living in it. That's right. You know what I mean? We take that for granted. They are living in it.
56:15And we know how many times you wish you could see Friends. So, Michael, you know what I mean? You can't do that unless you play NBA Live. You can make... You thought he was fake. You thought he was fake. When I first heard about it, I was like, oh, nah, that shit ain't real. No, no, no. Let me tell you something. In the moment you see him on stage together, I get emotional every time. I can't wait. That's great. I'm going to tell you something. You and this guy beat me out some extra sneakers, man. You still have a sneaker. You still don't go through it. You can throw flags in the... Hey, yo, Reggie, you hear him?
56:47Reggie, you hear him? What the fuck is... Somebody please get crack a pair of Usher He can't sneakers He put it on me Reg make it happen 10 free shows for Usher And they didn't get my sneakers All you want is a pair of sneakers But you told me some one time I believe it 1 million percent because my son, they used to call me and be like, yo, this nigga got$20 ,000 sneakers on and it was a size 9. He be wearing my shit size 12. Sneakers get missing. Like, no. Your kids, your size, be careful. My son swipes the hell out of me. Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say. The little ones are going to soon be able to swipe.
57:43What Usher told me behind the scenes was like, yo, you know, a lot of those, went missing. I can believe that. They grabbed him. They got legs on him. Yeah, they got legs on him. They ran. You know what bugs me out about you is how the fuck you perform on roller skates. Nice on skates. The presentation of your show, I haven't seen this one. Roller skating. The strip is in the back. If somebody had never been to a Magic City or something, you got the closest version. I went about four times or four or five man times that shit was incredible I'm sitting in the it's that work bro that's all it's about it's about making certain that we make moments that are unforgettable this show right here it don't happen I'm telling you if you've seen it then you get it there's a reason why it's sold out everywhere because it just don't happen in addition to the fact that we come together the work that we put in every night and the fact that we just we keep each other going even halfway through the show we be running and he running into each other backstage.
58:47Like, yo, you're killing that shit. Keep it going. Keep them vocals up. Yo, yo, nigga, you dancing your ass off. You know what I'm saying? It's crazy. Because you, you know. That's what it's about right there. No moments right there. People don't even understand, man, how hard it is for you to jump on one hand. Chris, I think I've seen him jump on one finger somewhere. That man did some shit. I'm watching an award show, and that man did some shit that I was just looking at. I said, it's not human. It's just no way. He was jumping on tables, dumping on... I said, what the fuck? The MTV joint? Yeah.
59:27Yo, I was like, what the fuck is this? I'm looking at the shit. I said, yo, how could you be a... What is this? Like an airbender or something? Yeah. I think that's what's great about it too. Like, iron sharpens iron. You know what I'm saying? We out here continuing to push each other. You know what I'm saying? It's like when you, and for me, man, it's like when you've done as much as I've done, man, it's like I need that motivation. I want that motivation. I want to be able to look at, you know what I'm saying, my comrades, you know what I'm saying, my cats and be like, yo, push me, make me better.
59:58I'm going to push you, make you better. We're going to challenge each other every night and push each other. That right there is what makes great entertainment. You know, we - You know what I'm saying? Mario on the show. Shout out to Mario. It's so appreciative to be on the tour, you know, to get that call. You know what I mean? This is a stadium tour. This ain't no regular shit. Matter of fact, remind me to bring my ears, man. This is a fucking stadium. You better, man. If you don't, you ass out. I got my shit tonight. 1:00:31They don't know them vocals is like being in a sailboat on the house. You ain't catching that shit. That shit coming back from so many ways. It's a fucking problem, huh? Yeah, yeah. Speaking of Mario and even seeing Tank and everything, to see the crowd. It ain't topless. We know he coming with this shit. This is like the Equinox tour.
1:00:54Just to see the reaction when you see this, you know what I mean? I'm the most ripped out. You know what I'm saying? Woo! It's so good that the RB Tour is doing stuff like that. That's amazing. it's about putting some respect on goddamn R &B facts man I like that what happened man cause you still a big exec what happened to R &B my nigga we out here at the Usher and Chris what happened to like R &B as a genre we just went through some songs remember when that song came on and you with your wife and go I left my baby girl said I won't be coming home you couldn't even mumble that shit while it was playing No joke.
1:01:38Because your wife want to throw plates and bottles at you. Like, she thinks you talk to the bottle. You ain't coming back. You met the next. What happened to that type of shit, Mark? Yeah. You looking at it. I can't even... Yesterday happened yesterday. Raymond and Brown. You know what I mean? Like, we here. That's why we doing this. That's the answer. That's the answer to that crap. Everybody that's used to perform, Forum, you have a famous song of dance. Every single person. And by the way, the special guest too is crazy. The special guest moments have, yeah, because we have special guests in different markets.
1:02:21You know, last week we was at Jay-Z's Joint Historical Yankee Stadium. And just before we went on, I bumped into you. Tyler DeCree, I seen yo, man, they got a nice guy rising here because I'm over here with the bullet scar niggas outside. Every gang member in the United States of America. They was spitting praises out their mouth. That shit was crazy. They was in the building. And so tonight, you know, I just told you people, they try to They said, yo, we want to put you in the sweet this.
1:03:07I said, man, I got to be, I got to try to dance more. You know, I used to know how to dance. I used to try to be like Heavy D. When I was a kid, I wanted to - Craig going to be in the rhythm section? Oh, shit. Yeah. I might be saucy tonight, too. Rhythm section. Yeah, man. Yeah, I might get a couple of Ace of Spades. I might get saucy. I might get saucy today. You know what I'm saying? That shit, that shit. You know, I got to have fun. The whole family coming. You know, I'm just going to make sure you don't levitate dancing by my wife like that shit you be doing. Because, you know, the man dance in one spot like he fucking George Jetson floated.
1:03:48I'm looking at him. I try to tell him I've been around a lot of cool motherfuckers. So I'm trying to act like I see what's going on. But, you know, Mark did that yesterday. I look back again floating in one spot. I see, yo, I see what the fuck. This guy's fucking crazy. We did Puerto Rico, right? Your wife is Puerto Rican, correct? Yeah. And your first big TV special, you did it in Puerto Rico. Why and what's your connection to Puerto Rico like that? So Puerto Cania, yeah. Love it like that. Man, why do I love Puerto Rico? Because she loved me. Oh. I think you the first ever R &B group to sell out a stadium in Puerto Rico and Beyonce came out, they had a Yankee.
1:04:39They had just opened that joint when we did that. Bro, R &B, that might be hard. That might be hard for R &B to sell out Puerto Rico. With R &B, that's crazy. You did it though. Like I'm talking about you did it. And that for me was a big moment for me because I used to be really afraid to fly and I never went nowhere and the first time I went somewhere to perform was Puerto Rico. I heard about that. I heard you didn't want to get on the plane. Yo, I was terrified. I'm still scared, but I get on the plane. But at that time, I ain't flying maybe like 14 years. And I went out there and did that shit.
1:05:17Felt like, yo, us, you're going to do some shit out here. Yeah, that shit was crazy, bro. Man's number one, Leanback's number one, Gasolina's number one in the span and shit. That shit was great. I'm walking through the hallway, Beyonce's walking through. I'm like, yo, this shit out of control. This shit was a great moment. Yeah, Puerto Rico does love you. New music, anything coming up, because we getting the tour, man. It's all about this tour right now. This tour sold out. Like, there's nothing. What are you talking about? In the moment. This shit gone already. Okay. Absolutely, man. Change, you know.
1:05:54I'm going to stretch back on the beat. I'm going to keep saying it. You know what I mean? Let me ask you something. Behind the scenes in business, nobody doubted. You didn't hear one inch of a doubt when you said, yo, we're going to do stadiums, usher and crit. There wasn't, there's not a human that doubted that it would be fire, right? Not at all. But you always get one, you're in the music business. The music business, let me tell you how crazy the music business is. You're having a meeting with somebody, you play a song, and everybody's like, yo, this shit This is, yeah. Everybody, yeah. You get one dude to say, well, don't know if the timing.
1:06:37Then you get another one from over here. Like, I was kind of thinking the same thing. You seen, how many times you seen rooms turn around through your executive career? All the time. Yeah, we got to believe in it way before anybody else do. Yeah, stick to it. You know, you know, come on. Come on, crack, you know. Yeah, bro. Me, I seen it. I've been in the room where I'm just like, you get one person to say, well, maybe else you sprain his wrist or something. He does that one and they will fuck the whole shit up. You know, this was like, you know, you know, the first time when like when you saw the commercial.
1:07:24you saw the shootout scene? Oh, Al Pacino and Rob you know what it was? He was like, finally, you had that feeling? Bro, this shit too was so good. That was a good comparison. That was a good ass comparison right there. This shit's so good. I ain't think it was real. I don't think he thought it was real. It was like made up. It's like Superman meets Captain. Like, yo, you saw that? You saw Ursh and Chris Breezy?
