0:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:What's up?
0:55Greg Miller:No, I'm angry. Mike, I'm. Fucking furious. Mike, when you think of the Nintendo Switch 2. Yeah. And you think of its biggest champion. Oh, yeah. That kind of funny. Yep. The man who's played everything except skate on the Nintendo Switch 2 this year. Who do you think of? I think of the Greg Miller. So imagine my horror last night to come home and say, I'm still searching for that grand adventure. I'm back. I'm in my turn-based JRPG craze, right? I'm playing that Dragon. I reviewed Dragon Quest 7. I moved on to Dragon Quest 11. A 10-year-old game, but I'm enjoying myself.
1:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Showed me a little bit of it.
1:37Greg Miller:And I said, but you know what? Chat's always saying it. Chat's always right. Capcom's always saying it. And yesterday, Nintendo said it. Monster Hunter Stories 3. Monsties. Get out there with your Monsties. Tear it up, Greg. You liked Monster Hunter Stories 2, but you didn't stick with it. Yada, yada, yada. and I said, all right, download the demo, climb on the Peloton put in the earbuds, start it up just gorgeous cutscenes, an amazing character creator, I'm like, whoa whoa, whoa we got the Breath of the Wild kind of art style kind of going on there for the characters and the coloring and the shading and I'm like, we got something, we're cooking here and then Mike, what happens?
2:18Greg Miller:run around right now, just run around the open world just move the stick, run why does it look like that? Why does it look like they got there's like Why does it look like it's what's it's got no Why does it look like that but your character looks Good the character looks great but the I was like I was so crazed that I this Morning I brought in you download The rock now run around in the rock
2:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh Right wow I'm running around in the switch Noticeable difference I'm running around the switch
2:47Greg Miller:Looks like I got like fucking the What the gel on the lens you know what I Mean like I'm losing all this definition I can't it can't be the same frame rate it can't be I don't know what I'm getting I mean am I getting 30 here and 60 there I'm not smart I don't know but that you're getting more here the rug crystal clear crystal clear yeah stunning compared to that so now I get into my thing oh so what am I gonna do what are you what am I going to dice you can't tap these late night can't tap those late night rules although last night Jen was like you go to bed just in general I was like wasn't it was the other shot I go to you gotta go to bed I'm like I'm going to bed fine And it was the right call.
3:22Greg Miller:I was asleep in five seconds. I was doing the thing where I'm angry. I'm trying to stay awake because I don't want to give up. You know what I mean? But then I look at this now, Mike. Look at how big that screen is compared to that screen. Look at the Switch 2. I got Animal Crossing on it. What do I do? Where's the trade-off? Why do I have to make a trade-off? Nintendo slash Capcom. Capcom. It's Monster Hunter Stories 3. Make it run good. Make it look good. You got to wait until the full release. No, they're not going to fix that. I wish I wish that was the case like you listen the demo and again it doesn't run like garbage of course not everybody yeah but this is back to what we're talking about and what we talk about in the games cast in a second here your hot takes on Nintendo third party Nintendo wants us to believe the switch two is a third party contender this is monster hunter stories two three this is not fucking run cyberpunk in max settings why does it look like this I haven't tried to dock yet but doc's not gonna help me on the plane that won't help you on the plane won't help you in your bed?
4:19Greg Miller:Arguably even worse because I'll be used to how good it looks on the TV and then treat it to this. But it does, it looks fine. I want it to look great. Dang, Greg. Now what do I do? I'm sorry that you're tilted right now. It just can't be easy. You know what I mean? The one thing that would solve all this if it's PlayStation, we get off it's duff and just make a handheld PlayStation. That would solve all my problems. That's all he ever wanted.
4:40Joey Noelle:But instead, here I am, fucking Goldilocks, and this porridge is too hot, this porridge is too cold, this one looks like somebody rubbed glass, all the fucking lens is pissing me off.
4:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:How are you, Mike? I was going to start your Friday totally different. Because, of course, the Winter Olympics begin today at the opening ceremony. I don't care. And I was going to ask you if you're going to show the pageantry. Not a chance. Ben will have no idea this is happening. To Ben and the world coming together to celebrate.
5:04Greg Miller:The only thing that can save the Olympics being played in my house is my wife. You're free to call her right now. You can ask her.
5:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'll call her. You can call her and you can ask her. I'll tell her about snowboarding greats.
5:14Greg Miller:Chloe Kim. Jamie Anderson. She's from the Great White North. The Winter Olympics and sledding and tobogganing and skiing. You know what I mean? I've done it. I did that up there at Carnival. The Carnival, the Quebec. Curling. Curling, that's the one. No Olympics at Miller's house.
5:32Joey Noelle:If it wasn't for this conversation right now, I wouldn't realize they're starting. Because, of course, I hate the Olympics. They're a waste of time and resources. Everybody's dying in the streets. Everybody's starving around the world. We don't need to do this. We don't need to act like we're all friends. Don't even be started. I don't care. I just don't care. They're boring, and I don't care. And so, yeah, I would have no idea,
5:55Greg Miller:especially without having terrestrial cable. Netflix ain't telling me when I turned it on. You don't got Peacock? I do have Peacock. It'll be on Peacock. When there's no, this is awesome, why am I turning on Peacock? You know what I mean? I loved that show.

7:49Greg Miller:Yeah. That's why I eat out of a fucking trough. Is that what you're saying? I gave you credit that you eat at nice places. Then you dunked on me by... These two go out more than you. They do go out more than you. They go out more than you. The au pair. That was a good idea. You know what I mean? That was a good idea. That was a good idea.
8:05Joey Noelle:Number one on the Rope Report, Baldur's Gate TV series continuing game story in works at HBO from The Last of Us co-creator Craig Mazin and Hasbro Entertainment. This is Nelly Andriva at Deadline. Craig Mazin, co-creator of arguably the most acclaimed TV adaptation of a video game to date, HBO's The Last of Us, will be taking on another hugely popular and acclaimed game next. I'm sorry, game title next. Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3, which is set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. HBO is developing Baldur's Gate, a drama series based on Wizards of the Coast's video game franchise with mazen attached to create write executive produce and show run the tv adaptation chris perkins the former longtime head of story at hasbro subsidiary wizards of the coasts uh which is behind the dnd game universe will serve as a consultant unlike hbo's the last of us which retold the story from the playstation games the baldur's gate tv series will be a continuation to the games telling a story that takes place immediately after the events of baldur's gate 3 as the characters, old and new, are dealing with the ramifications of the events of the third game.
9:14Greg Miller:Exciting enough. But now, let me bring in the drama. I'm going to pepper the drama. The drama. Jeff Keighley tweets, Larry and the creators of Baldur's Gate 3 tell me they have no involvement in the series. Okay. Then, there's a reaction over on Twitter from Crom Welp, the director of publishing at Larian Studios. First off, it's the quote tweet of Wario64 Announcing the news we just did And it just says, I'm about to crash out on Mame I'm about to crash out And it's not just a joke He then proceeds to go on this tirade I've spent the last 8-10 years of my life
9:50Joey Noelle:With the writers and creators of Baldur's Gate 3 And they're the most incredible storytellers and creators in the space Only hope is that they get Only hope is that they get both the credit deserved And the characters are represented at the same level as the game I genuinely don't think anyone can trump our writers Our stories are built by fierce Camaraderie and resolve I have watched them write and write and write And through respect for audience And material come up with some of the finest Shit I have ever played I hope TV allows for the same thoroughness Don't abandon hope but do expect I'm sorry don't abandon hope But do expect the world That's the job Michael Damn Baldur's Gate, Craig Mason
10:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:no Larian studio you can come at however you want to go for it well let's start with the announcement before we get into the drama the announcement wow thumbs up that's exciting okay gonna have to get on that Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough now finally and finish that game since I never finished it we're gonna go on the continuation HBO Craig I like this mix that we got going on seems like some good formula that we have so far proven that we can deliver 100 % exciting to me it's very fun We did a spoiler cast literally yesterday about Fallout Season 2. Greg, we go get it. And we kind of ended the episode talking about different video game franchises.
11:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Where do you go next? What are some big hits? Didn't even think of Baldur's Gate. It's interesting when we talked to Bless, he has fantasy fatigue, whereas I, I'm a Game of Thrones lover. I'm all about it. Are you watching this new one, the comedy one? Not yet, but I will. That will be my next watch after. Now that Fallout's over, I'll move on to that. But I really love Game of Thrones. I do like high fantasy. I'm excited for the idea of more fantasy worlds, but going a little bit crazier with it, right? Game of Thrones, very, we got dragons. We got the Nightwalkers, right? But we never went goblins.
11:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We never went crazy with Carlack in here, right? Sure. It's very exciting when you look at Baldur's Gate and how crazy you can go and the excitement of what could be. So yeah, thumbs up. I'm in on that.
11:52Joey Noelle:But are you worried at all? As nerdy Papa G super chats and says, this is a mistake. HBO has issues adapting fantasy without source material. Never good to force a canon ending, not to mention the issue of recasting voice actors
12:06Greg Miller:deeply associated with their characters. Now you get into the drama.
12:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The drama! Your boy Mike, who lives in lollipop and gumdrops lane, who likes to pretend like everything's going to be good. Yeah. Right? Your hope is Craig picks up the phone, somehow gets in touch with Larian. We get the writers on. We help each other. We make the best. We get voice actors. We figure it all out. That's the dream. Maybe this is just the announcement. Maybe we're too early to crash out on Maine. But in reality, we might be crashing out on Maine for the right reason. And so, yeah, there is some worry about that, right? We've seen that with George Railroad Martin, right, of like not having it finished.
Read the full transcript
12:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Then the team getting ahead of him, starting to write stuff. And then we have the final two seasons of Game of Thrones, which weren't that good, right? So this one, at least you're not following a book. You get to tell your own story. So, you know, like you have your own path here where people can't crash out going, it's not one-to-one here or you got above this guy and he didn't finish it yet you're making up your own story like you kind of just get to go it's such a complicated mix because of course
13:07Greg Miller:i think we've said it but to drive it home remember of course larian doesn't own the ip they were brought in to make baldur's gate three for wizards of the coast so it's like there's a history before larian now after larian and all this stuff but it's so clearly off of the success of Baldur's Gate 3
13:26Joey Noelle:and hey guess what now we're picking up from where that game left off I've never beaten Baldur's Gate 3 I'm just not the CRPG guy I cannot play as much as I want to
13:37Greg Miller:I don't for me I always heard about how it fell apart in Act 3 and this that and the other from the players who did it
13:43Joey Noelle:I'm interested to see what I know people are freaking out about picking a canon ending I've seen it a bunch both in Nerdy Papa G and in the chat over here right
13:52Greg Miller:and it's like I, is it going to be similar to fallout where like, Hey, a new Vegas wasn't deaf. I mean like new Vegas, the show season two didn't completely take away your choices because stuff kept going with the Legion and there's a couple of going Mr. House and like they did their best to leave that wiggly wobbly for you. Yeah, of course. And I feel like that's the thing here where it's like, I wouldn't, I guess Baldur's gate is such a different one of like, you know, how many permutations there are of everybody's campaign is different killing people right off the gate that makes andy all mad when you guys are in their stream letting people play it again falling in love and romance and go on and go it's you go on out with this it's just like i think at some point are we taking the source material too seriously like i understand we all had this balder's gate or everybody who played it had this ball had their balder's gate well you know that there have to be for whatever choices that need to be made and go forward and i think the for me i would love to see larian's writers involved i
14:51Joey Noelle:I think it's a bonehead move for this announcement to come out and Craig not have already met with them, had a con even had a conversation of like, this is what we're doing, but I want to honor your work. I wonder, you know,
15:01Greg Miller:it's been since Baldur's gate three and Larry and saying, we're not doing another Baldur's gate. And now we're doing divinity. Yeah. Like it seemed like, and I don't know, I'm not a fly on the wall. It seemed like it wasn't the best relationship maybe between wizards and Larry and there at the end where, I mean, just to how clear they were, we're not doing a ball. There's a gate three and the way they were saying, which I felt kind of was rallying the audience up, like riling them up to be like, what the fuck? Why aren't you doing another baller's gate? Maybe I'm wrong. So I think it's probably a lot of wizards involved in that.
15:29Greg Miller:I'm like, you don't need to talk to them. We should, I want to do this without them. I don't want to have them involved. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong. I would have had, if I was Craig coming in doing this,
15:37Joey Noelle:but that aside, Craig is at the mercy of whoever has the rights and comes in. I do think from what we've seen with The Last of Us, Craig is a gamer. Craig understands what he's doing in terms of entering a game world. And so I completely get as a man who loves a lot of different IPs and has a
15:58Greg Miller:lot of different feelings about it. That knee jerk reaction of like, Oh, but the voice actors won't be there and it won't be my car lack and it won't be this. And it was like, I get all of that,
16:06Joey Noelle:but I also have seen 19 versions of James Bond and the Superman keeps getting passed on and on. It's like,
16:12Greg Miller:I had to deal with fucking goddamn Katie Holmes not coming back for another Batman movie and I accept Maggie Gyllenhaal you know what I mean like I get it and I get they were in that knee-jerk reaction but I mean like I would let them cook before I did anything because I'd rather see as somebody who knows how much I would love Baldur's Gate if it wasn't for the gameplay I'm excited to see a Baldur's Gate hey here we go a D &D show that's gonna get into it people love
16:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the things that they love and they hold it dear and I think you're right we're in the knee-jerk reaction part of this right but you know a year two years down the road when it's finally game time for this maybe the attitude will change maybe we'll look at this differently and hopefully it hits i i'm as i'm of the one of going this is exciting to me i'm interested in this okay fair
16:56Joey Noelle:enough uh somebody in the chat pointed out that sven the studio head at larian said that craig did reach out and try to visit the studio i thought i saw that go around this morning too but it wasn't in this article. Where can I get Sven's statement on that? Does anybody know a quick Google of it is taking me to a Reddit post. That's broken. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Maybe. Yes. Hold on. Maybe. Here we go. Maybe. It was removed by the moderators on gaming. It looks like it's Sven's Twitter.
17:30Hold on.
17:32Greg Miller:Hold on.
17:37Joey Noelle:I'm just jumping into what Sven put up on this. Of course, you know, a studio head over at Larian crazy that a story that started out in a small hotel conference room eventually resolved into a narrative inspiring enough for it to become an HBO series. We worked incredibly hard on making Baldur's gate three worthy of its legacy. Its characters and narratives are the result of many teams working together. And I think I can speak for them all and saying that they'll think this is cool and hope that what comes next will enjoy the same level of passion. The endings of BG3 were created so that they could serve as narrative soil for new adventures.
18:12Joey Noelle:There's plenty of directions they could go. I'm eager to find out which ones Craig and his team will pick. He's reached out for a chat, so we'll have the opportunity to tell him our thoughts. Crossing fingers that the story we're cooking up for Divinity will eventually grow to the same heights. Certainly putting in the hours smiley emoji.
18:28Greg Miller:That's a great statement. I like that. That's what I want to hear, and that's what I want to see. Okay? I'm not ready to say, ah! But again, I don't have a horse in the race.
18:36Joey Noelle:But again, I've seen my properties go to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I'm just used to it at this point. But I think this is overall exciting. And again, HBO seems to take it all seriously. Craig seems to take it seriously. Chernobyl, he took seriously. Last of Us took seriously. I'm excited.
18:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm excited. I hope more people get excited.
18:57Joey Noelle:Let's get some chats out here, okay? Oh, my God. There's so many chats in here about this. I thought they were going to get up.
19:04Greg Miller:Let's go from the bottom and up then. DJ Akobak maybe it's D Jakobak if Shadowheart isn't in a gay relationship with my elven storm sorceress taking care of animals in our cottage why do I want to watch that doesn't take away if that's not happening that doesn't take away from your experience but it's mine Nightlife 2025 says love you guys but seriously here's where I'll throw the comment out already Nightlife's coming into swing on us Love you guys, but seriously Ballers Gate Ballers You're so angry at me Your fingers can't slap Are you talking about The other hit HBO show Ballers Featuring The Rock and Rob Corddry Because that does need a video game I did like that show Nightlife
19:57Joey Noelle:Love you guys, but seriously, Balders I'll fix it for you, Gate has got a huge history I think a Minsk will be a part of it. Secondly, Chris Pines D &D movie. What's that in BG? Jesus Christ nightlife. Go to sleep. Go to sleep.
20:12Greg Miller:We're excited for it. I don't even know if that was a positive or negative comment. I don't even know if it's positive. I'm moving on. Kobe Super Chat's funny that Hasbro asked Larry for DLC and they said no and this is the response. That is funny. That is funny.
20:30Joey Noelle:Clawmaster says all the anime fans first time you know remember that the James Franco gif G Danner 97 says the beauty of Baldur's Gate 3 writing is being is it being your unique story with your companions there's so little follow up on also as a big D &D guy Fae Run the world is so bland reeks of Hasbro slash HBO cash grab
20:53Greg Miller:alright okay wow does it real bland okay cool so now you bring in a show and you do cool shit with it you put a little season on it when they when they announced Baldur's Gate three, you go, no, there's a world so bland.
21:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:When you play through your epic 100 plus hour adventures, you go, they started off so bland.
21:10Joey Noelle:This is so bland. Why would they make a third game here? It's a cash grab from Larry. And I weren't fucking fine. We're ready to fight you today. Chat. I love you for your support. Thank you. And then I think we're caught up at the top there. Oh, this is just snugs. Way to know your friend's wife's birthday. Greg, I bet Kevin would never forget your wife's birthday. Spend this $5 to be better. The problem is I bet Kevin knows my wife's birthday.
21:32Tim Gettys:I have no idea when Jen's birthday is. Okay, good. Thank God. December 13th.
21:35Joey Noelle:No, April 13th.
21:36Tim Gettys:Oh! There you go.
21:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:See, now Greg does a good job. He holds dates back from you all. He tells you, oh, did you have a nice time? But he doesn't put it on blast. It's Paul's birthday. You know what I mean? He doesn't do that.
21:46Joey Noelle:Well, I didn't want to speak out of turn. I thought that was what was happening, but I wasn't 100 % sure. I'm holding back. I'm trying to be accurate. I'm a reporter, goddammit, at heart, okay? smart oh sorry IAYTD says smart move would be just a focus in the city of Baldur's Gate no connection to any of the pre-existing characters start new why not just a D &D show generally because Baldur's Gate 3 was so successful and had so much stuff and again
22:12Greg Miller:maybe it's just a few people coming over Carlack can be anybody's face makeup and do whatever Carlack's in Carlack is definitely in if they're crazy I'm sorry I don't know him well I met him at the game wars he's very nice the man who plays the vampire And then that's Neil I believe Yes that's right Neil could be a great cameo You could make him look like the vampire man
22:31Joey Noelle:And everybody would be happy Stick around everybody it's going to be okay Alright And then Average John says watch D &D Honor Among Thieves Fantastic fucking movie Never watched it wanted to Which one?
22:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Chris Pine D &D movie How was it? I mean it's a Mike Fun movie Yeah I don't think it's cinema Nick's not going to come back and be like Now this is a movie is right well nick might no nick might nick might come back from that yeah everybody says it's great
22:59Joey Noelle:everybody bs me right now that's a blue sky team so i remember to watch that this weekend because me and jen are always looking for something to toss on i'd watch it yeah that will be come back i mean i'll play monster monster during it but whatever i digress number two on the roper report epic game store boss says it plans to be on the next xbox console on day one this is chris scully vgc the head of epic game store says its plans to be present on the next xbox console on the day it launches in an interview with game file epic game store head steve allison said the company had been giving just having discussions with microsoft about having a storefront on the console allison was discussing the asus rog ally or xbox ally and ally x handhelds which are essentially handheld PCs, which boot into an Xbox app, but also provide access to stores like Steam, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and EA app.
23:53Joey Noelle:There is a link to the Epic Game Store on these handhelds, but at the moment, it takes players to the PC version of the launcher rather than a bespoke app designed for controller support. Allison said the plan was to add dedicated Epic Game Store app to the device, saying, We haven't built the apps for those that we need to build, but stressed that the company's current main priority is to improve the overall store and launcher and then focus on making apps for handheld pcs this led to the topic of the next xbox console which is heavily believed to be a hybrid system capable of playing xbox console games but also pc games including access to other stores allison replied that as it currently stands the plan is to have the epic game store on the new xbox console on the day it releases as a native app offering access to its library of PC games.
24:40Joey Noelle:Good.
24:41Greg Miller:Silly it's not here already. We already had the conversation this week where he's like, yeah, let's admit it. The store sucks. We're making it better. It's like, bro. They're working on step.
24:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We always talk about make the store worthwhile to go to. It's already very tough for them as they are swinging up against the big dog, which is steam, right? Like it has.
24:59Greg Miller:I mean, they just started this epic games. How many years? How many years? Well, of course, Epic just doesn't have that much money. How much money?
25:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:how much money you got how many devs gotta get that down first and then yeah i mean the big part is is like that special app that bespoke app that is i'm with the controller navigating it and moving it that's the big thing with steam big picture mode right it's like hey because of this you can navigate you can feel it all right with your controller same thing i'm booting on your xbox and playstation that's the big one if we're going to put a home pc on your computer hey how do i not have the mouse and keyboard next to me you gotta have that it's gotta be controller and we go yeah exactly and so yeah we knew they were gonna be there but at what form now it's nice to know
25:44Joey Noelle:like they're working on something different here again when we see this you and me fuck this groundhog you and me the prognosticators of prognostic we were here last week this week talking about it what tuesday third wednesday and we said hey brand prices this keeps going up man
26:00Greg Miller:this is fucked what about that steam box and then look steam machine did you see that conversation you and i had them the next day next day next day they're like guess what greg and mike were right
26:08Joey Noelle:greg and mike were right we're kind of fucked on this at which point you go to xbox and it's just
26:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:sarah bond tearing her hair out like oh what the fuck is going on you know what are we going to do over here i mean that's the fun part about this is none of us know and it seems to be turbulent times of like all of this for anyone trying to land this you and i guessing game wise we're going to talk about a story about new controllers and you know as exciting as that is no it's even more exciting on a 25th anniversary alongside new controllers, a new piece of hardware and an announcement for that. That would lead into holiday 2027, but that's a pipe dream, Greg, cause that's not going to Mike's doing the board over here with the string and all this stuff.
26:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:There's no way I'm walking out on stage at the summer game fest, the Xbox 25 going, guess what? Everybody was celebrating 25 years of Xbox. It's an exciting time. Here's a new control. Number three on the road for a port.
26:58Joey Noelle:All right, Xbox is reportedly releasing a brand new controller revision in 2026. This has been Carrie at PureXbox. As part of a huge report over at The Verge, journalist Tom Warren has revealed that Microsoft's next-gen Xbox controller revision is coming this year, after it was originally canceled in 2024, when plans reportedly changed at Xbox HQ. Indeed, we heard about the Xbox Seibel controller revision years ago, And it sounds as though some form of that new pad will release here in 2026. Warren says that this year's revised controller includes wifi connectivity to reduce Xbox cloud gaming latency.
27:37Joey Noelle:Kevin, I'm going to ask you to do this.
27:39Greg Miller:I'm going to Google Xbox controller with pants. Let me, I got it for him. I'll put it in. I had missed this entirely. And then we had a conversation. This came up. You guys found the fucking infographic. They're talking about. I have it up in front of me. I will talk. We're sending assets then quote. quote, I'm hearing that Microsoft has green-lit next-gen Xbox controllers
27:58Joey Noelle:that include Wi-Fi connectivity to reduce Xbox cloud gaming latency. A new Xbox controller was originally planned for 2024 alongside a canceled Xbox Series X refresh, end quote. The report doesn't go into detail about those old Cybele features we heard back in 2023, such as haptic feedback, nailed it, haptic feedback, modular thumbsticks, a rechargeable battery, and more. For now, all The Verge is reporting is that improved latency feature. Here's hoping Xbox has more up its sleeve regarding its 2026 controller revision. Finally, the report also names drops Jez Corden's previous reporting on Elite Series 3 controller potentially coming this year, but doesn't go as far as corroborating that just yet.
28:43Joey Noelle:Warren simply says that an Elite 3 would align with the rollout of next-gen Xbox controllers if it is indeed coming in 2026 as well. So this was the FTC leak.
28:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yes. Okay. This is the Xbox controller with pants that we saw from the FTC leak that showed the next iteration, the next evolution of the Xbox controller. Okay. This is not the, you know, Elite version 3. This is just the generic controller. We talked about this kind of being more go green with sustainability. We talked about that being more into the cloud. You see with the Wi-Fi here. And so this was the new look that we saw a long time ago. Now, what does it look like now? What is the actual, like, hard details and facts? We don't know 100%.
29:25Joey Noelle:I mean, pants aside, like, you assume this is it. Yeah. This has got to be, I mean, like, this is exactly what you want from a new one, right? At least for them, right? The Wi-Fi connectivity, yes, for cloud. So it's not, you know, we're taking the Google Stadia bit out of it, the Luna bit out of it. I have a new Bluetooth, which I don't know shit about, but sure. Seamless parent switch with a mobile app, that sounds great. Sustainability, it's still ridiculous that I'm putting disposable batteries into these things.
29:49Greg Miller:Well, it was always about the choice. That's how I always took it. That's an eye roll is what that is, yeah. That's an eye roll. We want to sell a cheap controller,
29:57Joey Noelle:we'll sell you the Charge and Go Pack on top of that. That's an eye roll. Every time, me and Phil Spencer argue about this all the time. Every time we talk about it, he's like, is it that hard?
30:05Greg Miller:I'm like, fucking save the earth, fail. Save the fucking earth. Anyways. So, yeah, that's real. Okay, so now bring it back together with me. So bring it back together. Actually, you know what? No. I want you to keep all that in the crock pot.
30:17Joey Noelle:let it simmer for your xbox 25th when they come out and they show a controller all right and instead while that simmers you simmer at home remember of course we couldn't do this without your support pick up a kind of funny membership patreon.com slash kind of funny youtube.com slash kind of funny games apple spotify you give us ten dollars we give you all of our programming ad free you get your daily dose of me greg miller in a series we call greg way

32:20Tim Gettys:It matters where you stay. Book now at Hilton.com. Hilton for this day.
32:29Joey Noelle:And we are back. Before we pull the cork out of Mike. A lot of things happened here. Kevin threw us a curveball. We were asking about Paula's dinner at birthday dinner. It was amazing. it was this and then he said he had his first milk washed bourbon i'm a i am a philistine i
32:43Greg Miller:don't know what that is kevin please can i take a guess really quick sure you take the cup yeah
32:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:this is what i would dump whole milk in it swirl it around drain it my thing is i don't know if
32:52Greg Miller:you put the bourbon in it do you dump i think you splash in there and you wick it around no you got
32:57Tim Gettys:to fill the whole thing up to the cover are we right uh no no it's similar to like fat washing
33:04Joey Noelle:have you ever heard of that i don't know what fat washing is either no no that's me every morning in the shower you know what i just want to say something mike i stand down earlier you're like
33:13Greg Miller:kev's going to fancier restaurants than you and i think what are you talking about i don't know
33:15Joey Noelle:what the fuck's happening i'm telling you sf fancy food scenes moved on i don't know okay so
33:19Tim Gettys:back to you kev so it it's it's a way of uh enriching uh bourbon or brown liquors okay yeah And also Creating a lighter Like Fruitier taste
33:40Greg Miller:So this was a So is this something they're doing before it ever gets to you This is in the barrel Yeah, whoever is making the bourbon
33:48Tim Gettys:So they get the bottle of bourbon And they like So this was called Breakfast of Champions The cocktail I like that name And it was milk washed in cereal milk. Okay. Which, all of that sounds weird, but essentially they get a big thing of sweet milk and they put a bunch of bourbon. It separates, and then they get the separated liquid out, and now that has gone through this process that makes it, you know, you drink bourbon and you get that, like, that little, a little burn. It's good, but this dulls it and adds, like, a sweetness to it. You can also do the same process with like animal fats. So a big thing of like what?
34:35Tim Gettys:Beef towel? You put it in there and it separates the bourbon and like it enriches the flavor of it. It was very good. It was very good.
34:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They put a little piece of candied bacon with that?
34:46Tim Gettys:They did not. Cereal piece? A little cereal piece? There was no cereal pieces. Cinnamon toast crunch?
34:52Greg Miller:Could you ask for that of the size?
34:54Tim Gettys:I'm sure you could have and they would have accommodated. It's like the bear
34:57Joey Noelle:they're running around the city getting cinnamon toast crunch.
34:59Tim Gettys:The process looks gross. I want to be clear about that. But it does.
35:04Joey Noelle:I read about it here while you're talking. You're curdling the milk, so then you're straining out the alcohol. Yeah, of course, right? But I mean, guess what? Most processes are disgusting.
35:11Tim Gettys:The end product is supposed to be very good. I've never had the when it's made with like animal fat. But this was quite delicious.
35:20Joey Noelle:Excellent. Mike.
35:22Tim Gettys:That was a lot.
35:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That was great. That's what we wanted, though. I'm trying to wrap my mind around it. I like it.
35:26Joey Noelle:You and me will go get one. Maybe we can get it at House of Prime Rib with Tim Schafer in a couple weeks.
35:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yes. No, one more. I'm sorry. I came too hard. That was close. That was close. One more. There you go. Wait. Stop there. I get harder. I get fucking harder the more we do it.
35:40Joey Noelle:I got that goddamn fucking bear paw, as you said. It's the 25th anniversary of Xbox. It's a big year for it. We're expecting things.
35:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Big games. Babel. The big four. Halo. And if you saw Tom Warren's tweet, there's more of the Verges' tweet. they were saying halo in the summertime oh years in the fall okay so like there was more to that as well if you find that oh god so but anyways you're upset that they're talking about the controller well it's just like yeah the controller is exciting and i think if we rewound time and we could try to navigate where they were at 2024 right of like hey we wanted this revised controller probably already out for that slated and dated we were sticking to the seven-year generation plan that didn't have a world impacted by COVID and now inflating prices on certain pieces, we'd probably have 2027, 25th anniversary.
36:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We would be announcing this next console. We would be on track for all of this, right? Yeah, it feels like we're a little out of whack and that's because the world is out of whack. But as a fan and a gamer, right, like you have this big anniversary and we see so many games miss the anniversary, not quite nail the fun and the marketing that could be. And it just doesn't hit the same if Sarah Bond and Phil Spencer come out and they do the Tim. Okay, guys, it's the 25th anniversary. We only got controllers. It's just not exciting. Now, of course, it's exciting for all of our wallets. They can't miss this though, right?
37:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:No, they will miss this. I mean, the only thing that they could do is show the video of the new console spinning in the background. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Next year or the year after that, we'll have more details. And that's like, ooh, a hooray. But they're not going to come out and be like, this year we're going to do this and here's the price. Here's what's going on. Yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no, no.
37:32Joey Noelle:I just mean for the 25th anniversary of Xbox, they can't miss on this, right? They have to, even if they don't do what I want,
37:39Greg Miller:which is PSX, just do a live stream or do one of your Xbox directs where the games come out we celebrate all these games they got nines this year right because they're all going to get nines because they're all going to be so good you give me a fucking rock ally that doesn't sound like I'm clicking the goddamn fucking hardest clicker of all time Greenberg and his team in the
37:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:marketing side are definitely going to bring it in the fun they have to 25 years a killer lineup there has to be something here a look back a fun doc Or maybe I'm just blowing it out. Maybe 25 is not that big of a deal. Maybe we did that on the show. They have a logo. Didn't they show a logo on it recently? Well, they did a logo. Yeah. Of course you're going to do a logo. That's easy. You got to have a logo. Mike and Greg can drop a logo. Yeah, but we wouldn't make a big deal about it. I guess maybe I'm making 25 years a big deal. You know what I mean? But it's like. As you should. I just don't think.
38:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Maybe it's not. Because, no, I don't think we're going to have a look back, a retrospective. We're not going to call up Seamus Blackley. You don't think so? No. That's such an easy fucking thing. Don't do that, Xbox. That's easy. I think that's the 10-year ones. The halves, the fives. I don't think the fives get delayed.
38:46Greg Miller:But I think now more than ever, Xbox needs goodwill.
38:49Joey Noelle:And so to remind people of why you love Xbox and where we are going with this brand. Here's where we're going this year with multiple Game of the Year contenders. I'm winking, hoping, hoping, hoping. Don't fucking delay fable. Clockwork Revolution next year.
39:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Let me show you a state-of-the-case slice.
39:03Greg Miller:Yeah.
39:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hey, we got new controllers. And then the hardware. that would be the big win I don't think we get the hardware though
39:11Greg Miller:not even a glimpse
39:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:with how rocky and turbulent it is probably not here's a question back to the Epic Game Store app of course you have to download Fortnite through the Epic Game Store on PC but on console I can have Fortnite this is a console PC hybrid where will Fortnite reside
39:34Greg Miller:Fortnite will be both ways you can get it on you think you can get it straight through xbox and be ready to go yeah on this pc console hybrid yes okay that's my prediction you don't think they'll do like pc and just say no you gotta have the epic game store app i don't okay what's the what's uh i mean there's already a relationship right with like now xbox game pass having fortnite uh yeah that's fine awesome by the way i haven't thought about that in a long time bought chapel road last night i was gonna say i've got points burning a hole in my pocket up there that game is good
40:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:fortnight yeah yeah no shit yeah hot take yeah a lot of people like the shit on that game that game is good yeah that game is fun to get into yeah and jump back in with friends always good do a great job at the body did you buy all the chapel runs or was it a package or bundle she has a bundle and then she has a music pass so you have to get either through xbox game pass you can get it for free with that with your subscription or you can buy it and then you earn the other two so she's got three okay but you gotta earn two okay not too bad fair enough let's move on from
40:32Joey Noelle:talking about Chapel Rome and talk about Hideo Kojima. Number four, Kojima cancels his GDC attendance. This is from Kojima Productions over on Twitter. Dear Porters and GDC attendees, we regret to inform you that Hideo Kojima will no longer be able to attend this year's GDC Festival of Gaming. We understand that this will be disappointing for fans and attendees who are looking forward to hearing him speak, and we want to offer our deepest apologies. While Hideo Kojima is unable to attend in person, Kojima Productions is still excited to be part of this year's festival with members of the team presenting during the week.
41:07Joey Noelle:We wish everyone at the GDC Festival of Gaming a fantastic event. We hope to reconnect with you all soon.
41:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Whatever's going on, hope that he's doing all right. 100%. Hope the team is fine. 100%. You know, I'm sure we'll get something in this, whether it be a video package or whatever, but that was the big looking forward to.
41:28Greg Miller:Big time.
41:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kojima coming to town, being the keynote speaker,
41:31Joey Noelle:this was a big deal 100 which is like a huge blow i think to gdc's interest yeah right there's been a lot of conversations going around on the sub stacks i'm going to try to pull one quickly and i don't know if i can where this is like some people are talking about this being like gdc's last shot like this has got to be where gdc this pivot is a if you're not paying attention gdc's been around forever the game developers conference it's a san francisco staple every year at the Moscone Center people come together they learn about games together learn from each other's example yeah as the years have gone on in a post-covid world very much a post e3 death world right there's the conversation of why is this still happening and is it still valuable to the developer GDC is incredibly expensive so and I'm talking about a ticket to GDC not even I'm a three-person studio from Omaha and I want to fly to San Francisco and like we're down in the financial district like some of the most expensive stuff the most expensive hotels food everything else it snowballs really quickly to a point of like yo this isn't even sustainable for people to go to and gdc to their credit has pulled a few levers and done a few different things of like well what about this and that and you know passes and whatever i'm not even up to date 100 on that but this is the first year they've pivoted to gdc festival of gaming like they've they're trying to rebrand GDC in a way that is more approachable.
42:57Joey Noelle:And I think, honestly, I would think long-term, if you're calling it the festival of gaming, is even more marketable to gamers rather than game developers. Okay. Because GDC is not a game fan first show by any stretch of imagination. There is a show floor that are recruiting booth after recruiting booth after recruiting booth. There might be a few tech demos down there. I remember the old days of IG in 2007 and eight going there and reporting on like this thing, scanning your face and putting you in the game. But it's not like an E3 show for anything that amount, anything like that. So what is this show?
43:33Joey Noelle:I think it's trying to redefine itself right now. So I think this was a big deal to have Kojima here to have him come out and talk and get a lot of eyes on what this is. And then to see it now go this way. Oh, OK. I wonder. I'm going to try to Google Rufus. Talk about something while I try to figure out.
43:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, I mean, from what I've seen from GDC being here in the city, it is very impactful and important, too. I think on the younger gamer development side, right, it's very similar to me going to E3 for the first time, but I think a lot of the game developers on the younger side really get to feel that camaraderie, get to see the industry at large, get to meet some of their maybe game development heroes slash their peers and get to know what they're working on, what kind of fun stuff they've learned and what tools and tips they can take away. myself and Roger have been to some of the GDC after parties where we've gotten to meet even more of the team and they all seem to be really happy to be here together for this week right of course that is not looking at the bigger picture of money travel time energy being put into it but it is I think a positive note here in the game development world especially when you look at all the layoffs all around us right to say hey we have a positive here that you can go to and celebrate be with your friends meet more people i think that's really big deal yeah 100 and i think
44:47Joey Noelle:it would suck to lose that there is such a mind share here of people coming together to learn from each other and meet to do business and etc and as we've seen e3 fall away e3 used to be part of that right so then you're down to of course uh gdc dice there's multiple versions of each of those gdc of course is uh that what first full week of march this year i want to say it kicks off on the 9th or whatever whatever indie showcase we'll be doing our thing again uh and then you Dice is next week in Vegas. Another incredibly expensive event that isn't meant for Joe Blow Gamer necessarily. It's more for the heads of all these companies and stuff.
45:20Joey Noelle:I can't find what I'm trying to find, but I know I read about it.
45:24Greg Miller:Maybe I'll go up here. I'll go GDC last chance. Just into Google, the old Google machine.
45:30Joey Noelle:Everybody's coming around and they're talking about GDC last chance to buy a ticket. That's not what I'm looking for. I forget who it is. Chat, kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong if you know what I'm talking about. You probably subscribed to all the same sub stacks i do and can find what i'm looking for what are you looking for there's somebody talking to the head of gdc about i'm not saying i think if i'm way out of pocket right now i believe i read from the the guy who runs gdc saying i don't think this year's our last chance i would say next oh okay but i can't fucking find that damn i'm looking for anyway if anybody can help me and maybe i dreamed it but that doesn't sound like something i would normally dream about gdc news usually not when i'm you know not usually not what i'm in the
46:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Whether it's happening or not. Yeah, yeah.
46:09Joey Noelle:Okay, everybody, I have your wrong over here, and I'm kindoffunny.com slash your wrong open. If you can find it, we'll pull it up. Okay. And if not, we'll redact everything I just said. People are bringing up ice. Yeah, I saw the Crescentes talked about ice, but I didn't see that, where a lot of, obviously, GDC attendants are like, I don't want to fucking come to America right now. Ice fucking sucks. And yes, don't do that. You should, if you have a chance to boycott America, boycott America, fucking ice talking about going to the Olympics, you remember that? They should have locked us out.
46:39Joey Noelle:people are talking about rumors for kojima being related to this nice thing too we won't believe that until we see it but thank you for that uh number five and i don't mean i don't believe you i'm just saying i don't want to be i don't want to throw that out unless that's actually somebody's publishing that and has a quote or something that i think i digress let's clear our palace while we wait for somebody to tell me if i have they have this okay arturo robo arturo tron robo bartender super chat and says i think you're talking about a milk punch you infuse the spirit with the milk, allowing the milk to curdle that acts like filtration.
47:09Joey Noelle:It puts out some color and adds weight, roundness, and smoothness, also known as a fat wash. Nice.
47:17Tim Gettys:They're the same thing. Milk washing, milk puff. Okay, cool.
47:20Joey Noelle:So there you go. Good job, everybody.
47:22Tim Gettys:And I said this to him already, but the cocktail menu was called it said milk washed.
47:28Joey Noelle:Well, remember, Arturotron is in Kansas City. He's in Missouri, the right side of it. but there's still enough Kansas in there that it might be messing the old noggin up. You know what I mean? Number five on the Roper Report, Ubisoft reportedly cancels rumored cooperative multiplayer Assassin's Creed game. This is Rebecca Valentine at IGN.com. Ubisoft has reportedly canceled a multiplayer cooperative Assassin's Creed title that had been in development at the French studio Ubisoft Annecy. That's what I'm going to say. This comes from a report by French publication Origami, which IGN has independently translated.
48:02Joey Noelle:according to the report the project was codenamed AC League it was originally conceived as a DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows and would have potentially taken place in the same feudal Japan era the DLC would have involved four assassins joining forces to take on a series of scripted missions with up to four players that would have ultimately concluded the story told by the games cancelled season pass sounds like it's going great over there you may have already heard of AC League if you pay close attention to Assassin's Creed gossip as it was previously rumored last year in a report from Insider Gaming.
48:37Joey Noelle:The project Origami reports was apparently fairly ambitious and was intended to serve as a baseline for future multiplayer features throughout the series such as the return to a hybrid solo slash multiplayer play style as existed in Assassin's Creed Unity or Black Flag parentheses a remake of which has been a long rumored for some time now. However as the AC League project progressed directors at ubisoft anisee reportedly began to question whether it made sense to attach to league of shadows attach league of shadows as they were worried it would take too long to make and came up with a different plan that turned into a small standalone title borrowing pieces of the assassin's creed shadows open world development on this progressed with an intended invite only alpha plan for may 2026 unfortunately ac league was allegedly just the latest victim of the ongoing upheaval at Ubisoft.
49:27Joey Noelle:For several months now, the company has been undergoing a massive restructure alongside major cost-cutting measures, canceling numerous projects, closing studios, and reorganizing its creative houses. It was to this restructuring that AC League fell victim, with leadership at Ubisoft Annecy being informed just last week that AC League was being canceled. However, there is still a sliver of hope for the project origami reports apparently a handful of anisee employees have been selected to transfer the technical advancements the team made back into the company's proprietary anvil engine with the goal of eventually making it easier to add replayable multiplayer modes to future assassin's creed titles that would be less expensive to develop unfortunately that leaves more than a quarter of the 270 individuals working at anisee without a project at the moment leaving a lot of lingering anxiety that layoffs may be coming next.
50:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh no. That sucks. Fucking Ubisoft, man. Yeah, they gotta get that all together. They gotta start figuring this out ASAP. Of course, you know, Assassin's Creed multiplayer for me as someone who grew up with the Assassin's Creed brand has always been exciting, right? The idea of sharing this world, sharing these moments, these stealth encounters with friends has always been cool, right? Unity was the first dip our toe in to try that. I didn't really do Black Flag, so I can't speak on that. But Unity was my dip my toe in and try that. And it always has been a pipe dream that one day Ubisoft could figure that out and make it either right side by side with the launch or its own standalone project.
51:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We now see Ghosts of Tsushima Legends do that, right? And so there's kind of already a big player in that market. But Assassin's Creed, if Ubisoft was in a better place and treated their employees really well and we were able to let them cook. You could create something here and maybe find a little bit of a flip.
51:18Greg Miller:But we did it, right? And I feel like they did it and the market spoke like, that's just not what we want on Assassin's Creed. Can we just do single player? And I know I'm not, I'm doing me wrong. They had a cool multiplayer with that hide and seek though. They did. That was fun.
51:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:See, I like these. I like some of these tacked on multiplayer modes with single player games. I've never been mad at it, you know? Some of them are great, but like most of them
51:39Greg Miller:were dog. And I'm talking PS3 era. Most of them were dog shit.
51:42Joey Noelle:Tomb Raider tacking on a multiplayer. Stop. You don't need to do this. And this is where we got to devaluing single-player games.
51:49Greg Miller:And then, of course, just the money signs in everybody's eyes of a multiplayer game.
51:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They'll stay here forever, and they'll spend money forever. Well, we got so big into single-player games, now I have an Assassin's Creed that's 150 hours with microtransactions and a story that just won't quit. And it should just be, hey, give me a 20 to 40 hour and maybe tack on the multiplayer. It's fine. We don't have to get into this gigantic world. It's all right. Like, tone it down a little bit. I think we went too far one way as well. Yeah, well, I mean, you definitely learned that the hard way. That led into, oh, shit, like, we have no way to sell multiplayer transactions, so let's start selling these single-player transactions.
52:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And that's when you kind of got this gaudy, insane-looking store in single-player Assassin's Creed where you're like, what is going on here? Yeah. Why are they selling me a Pegasus for$19?
52:34Greg Miller:I mean, you want the Pegasus, buy the Pegasus. I bought the Pegasus. No, the Unicorn is what I bought.
52:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, it's just insane. So I don't know. I'm on one side. I like multiplayer games. So that's my thing. But yeah. I'm always sad to see jobs lost.
52:49Joey Noelle:I'm always sad to see something killed when it's this close to alpha. Right? We're talking about there's going to be an alpha in May of this year. Like you're right on top of it. But yeah.
52:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Slide that technical advancement into the engine. And then we'll probably never be seen. We'll never be seen. Let's be real with it.
53:04Joey Noelle:Shout out to really good beef who came through for me, pointing out the GDC story you're searching for is a game business interview from Christopher Dring. We go to thegamebusiness.com GDC quote we're not we're we're not being told if this doesn't work it's over. GDC 2026 is just over a month away and it's facing some of the biggest challenges in its nearly 40 year history. The development conference has rebranded itself as a festival and broadened its activities in a bid to increase attendance improve its relevance and win back companies that have taken to meeting partners away from the show floor.
53:37Joey Noelle:But on top of that, it's dealing with increasing concerns from the international community over traveling to the U.S. during a period of intense political and social change. Quote, it's on the top of my brain, and I think it probably is for a lot of people because of the events of the past weekend, said Mark Delora, Executive Director of Innovation and Growth at GDC. We haven't seen any changes in the attendance numbers. We've seen a little up and a little down here and there in terms of registrations that have come through so far. That said, it's still something we're thinking about. I'm not sure there's a lot we can do about it.
54:07Joey Noelle:One of the things that we knew we could do and we did was to release the content program a little earlier so that people were coming would have more time to get their visas through the system. It's an open question. I think about it more in terms of the future of GDC than the present. If we are where we are and there are people who are concerned about coming to the US, are there ways we can come to them? It's a question that's on my mind. I think GDC as being an event in the community, so the community is giving particular feedback. We need to listen. One option organizers continue to look at is the prospect of leaving San Francisco.
54:41Joey Noelle:The game industry's heart in the United States is San Francisco, Delora said. So from that perspective, it immediately is like, well, of course we'd be in San Francisco. But there are other questions than where is the heart of the game industry in the US that influence where we would want to have an event. Every year we have these conversations about would it be better here? Would it be better there? San Francisco has been a great partner. We have ongoing conversations with the city and the city government about how to support the industry and how they support us and us being there in a big way.
55:08Joey Noelle:But I always welcome more conversation.
55:13Joey Noelle:Yeah. My opinion that maybe next year is more make or break year, Delore answered. Well, let me, I guess the question. Nevertheless, the big external challenges plus the sheer number of changes being made this year is this make or break moment for GDC. Quote, my opinion is that maybe next year is more of a make or break year. Delora answered because we're making, we're making a bunch of changes this year and the next year. If people don't show up, it'll be more of a signal than this year. But so far this year is looking pretty strong in quote.
55:40Greg Miller:What I'd like to say there, very honest answer.
55:42Joey Noelle:Yeah, this is usually you get a lot more fucking corporate speak than that. That's a real honest answer there. I will point out that I think E3 was very much like, well, next year's make or break. So it's like,
55:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:we'll see what happens and where we go, but it's tough world. Very tough. COVID in the world pandemic. And now we get to this point where it's like, hey, travel's kind of getting back. Everybody's getting there. We're getting our vaccinations. Like, we're going to get back. And then immediately, Trump, you know, idiots.
56:08Greg Miller:Just bring your papers with you everywhere you go. You might still be shot even if you are an American citizen. You might still be abducted even if you're legally in this country. But we'll sort it out in about a month, maybe, if there's enough of a media hullabaloo about it.
56:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Good conversation, though. How do we meet the people that we need to meet and where do we need to go, right? And do you really keep it in the U.S.? What is the next area in the U S you know, you think in gamescom, right. I'm humongous.
56:33Greg Miller:Like that would be probably a better spot, but I think even that, like, and now we're
56:37Joey Noelle:very much outsiders talking about what's happening here, but I think the biggest existential threat to these events isn't, um, locations. It is fucking zoom. It is. Why isn't everything digital? I think obviously there's that, well, that's not as much fun.
56:53Greg Miller:Yeah. And that doesn't, you know, you, you bump into Todd Howard at the bar one night or whatever, you add a different party and you meet a game dev. You never would have met. You guys start your own studio. And yeah, like that organic shit and learning in a group and have getting a lunch, getting a coffee. Like that is so invaluable to it.
57:11Joey Noelle:But we're in a time where invaluable doesn't make sense when you're talking about what the value and numbers of a business are and what you can do. So, you know, sending, saying, oh, Gamescom, do it around there is the same thing where it's like, okay, now so many US devs, like, I'm not sending you to Gamescom. Like, why would I send you there just to meet and greet? Like, this is an ongoing problem. It's why you see so many different GDCs and different dices and yada, yada. But we're back, I think, to perhaps the threat that everyone is wrestling with from a publication side, right, of a Ubisoft side of just like a AAA publisher side of.
57:49Joey Noelle:we've inflated the stock in the thing and the numbers to this point where it's like we can't turn around and say guys we need to make 20 % less last year to be sustainable next year to be sustainable in the same way GDC can't say hey we're going to make GDC this small thing because people are expecting this big thing and like why would they pay for that blah blah blah they've made a monster that's why our 11 person business is an 11 person business year after year now I digress Mike GDC and everything that happens there. Kojima or no Kojima? Kind of funny. Cross the mix. Indie showcase slash indie presentation slash indie party that we do every year.
58:30Joey Noelle:All that's big news.
58:31Greg Miller:If I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go?
58:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's a big deal, Greg. You go to our last story, the We News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
58:41Joey Noelle:Number six, the We News. Mugenics has a review roundup. 90 on Metacritic, 90 on OpenCritic, a 92 a PC gamer, a 9 from GameSpot, RPG fan, 79. Dan Stapleton at IGN. Did he retire? He came back for this? He came out of retirement? He said, I gotta be here. 9 out of 10 says, Mugenics is a fantastic tactical RPG that's good for more than 100 hours of rogue-like runs. Just when you think you have it figured out, it'll throw something completely unexpected and hilariously gross at you, and probably a catchy new original song too.
59:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:okay is this on your radar mike uh yeah it's been on my radar uh i'm pretty excited about it we've had some conversations in the office about this game and keeping eyes on it so it'll be on there

1:00:10Joey Noelle:100%.
1:00:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You nailed it. That's what you need to do. You stole the worst from my mouth.
1:00:15Greg Miller:Yes, I want to quit. Just go away.
1:00:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It can look wonky. It can look very indie. It doesn't matter. As long as the game feels good, then we have a win. That's what we
1:00:24Joey Noelle:start with. We're going to download demo. We're going to get the demo downloaded over here. We'll be a part of that thing, okay?

1:06:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:So, yeah, 81 is the average. So playing a lot of two, probably going to sit about an 83.
1:06:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think you go orbitals. I do too. In my heart, I feel orbitals, but like you could get a 77 on that. Hey, it was good. It was. It was really pretty. We had a good time playing through it. didn't do anything crazy. Orbitless looks fucking awesome though. Maybe it won't deliver at all.
1:06:41Joey Noelle:Who knows? Everybody, that's another episode of Kinda Funny Games Daily in the books.
