In short
Kinda Funny Games Daily (Aug 11, 2025) covers Battlefield 6’s open beta success, early cheating reports, Diablo franchise leadership change, and a Far Cry TV series in development.
Guests/backgrounds
Hosts are Blessing at EA Jr and “Snowbike Mike” (Mike). They also reference other industry figures (Hassan Nasir at Tom’s Hardware; Vicky Blake at IGN/Eurogamer; Rod Ferguson; Rob McElhenney; Holly Hunter; Ubisoft executives), but no additional on-mic guests appear in the transcript.
Key claims
- Battlefield 6 open beta hit 500k+ concurrent players on Steam (peak 521k), “all-time high” for the franchise; EA launched a 2-day open beta.
- Cheaters already infiltrated the PC open beta despite Secure Boot; EA says it blocked 330,000 cheat attempts and players reported 44,000 instances on day one plus 60,000 more later.
- Rod Ferguson left Blizzard after five years driving Diablo; Blizzard confirmed but gave no reason.
- FX is developing a Far Cry anthology drama; Ubisoft reportedly confirmed via its site.
Notable examples
- Hosts played the beta and praised moment-to-moment fun and tactical destructibility (not “Levolution”).
- Discussion of whether Battlefield can sustain hype into the full paid launch (October 10) and future modes (rumored free battle royale “Ring of Fire,” plus Battlefield Portal).

2:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for monday august 11th 2025 i'm one of your hosts blessing at ea jr joining me is the master of hype snowback mike blessing my guy happy monday great to be back with you here on the desk and hello to everybody tuning in good morning bless how are you i'm doing well mike how are you doing i'm feeling good i got a lot to go over with you after the weekend we played magic together we did you organized a magic the gathering draft day here in the studio i got to partake it was a ton of fun oh yeah thank you for that what do you think of course um you know i i helped put it together but it was mainly the work of the one and only jake decker the homie from uh game spot he'd been sitting on a lord of the rings draft set for years he told me he was like dude i've been wanting to play the draft with this for years i don't i don't even like charge y 'all just come through and play with me like play the set with me and so he hit up some of his friends i hit up some people i know right and we all came together at the studio and you left around like i think 1 p 1 p.m you're here for a couple of hours i didn't think we would be here for as long as we were here i left at three o 'clock bless three o 'clock three o 'clock in the afternoon and we started at like 11 30 for context um that probably went on it until maybe five or so maybe 5 30 and then me and some friends who like didn't want to finish, right?
3:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We didn't want to end. We went, grabbed some dinner, came back, played more Magic until 9. I love that blast. Played Magic the entire day on Saturday. If I wasn't going to play Pokemon that afternoon, I would have stayed longer because I had so much fun. As you know, when it comes to Magic with me, I was a Magic Arena guy. I really loved Arena. Then you brought me into Commander. I've been loving Commander, and I haven't been tempted yet for Draft, right? You and I did a Draft together. You did it all. I felt bad because I left you alone this time to make a deck by yourself. You know what? I needed that because I loved it.
4:00I finally figured it out. I walked out of it going, man, I built that deck together. I felt good about it too, and I had fun. So that was a really great event for me. Yeah, no, that was a wonderful time. What else you got for me? Bless. What else do I got for you? I don't know if you saw, but some big moves were made in the Fantasy Critic. You know, I know Roger had his moment last week, but I do want to bring something up. If we look at the tippy top of the leaderboard, there's one man named Snowbike Mike who's currently leading the league and also made a big move last week as he secured Ninja Gaiden 4 for his final spot now a lot of people are chirping they're saying damn that was a big time move by the number one, the man who saved the fantasy critic draft but also guess what I'm not done yet, Bless I got a drop in my back pocket in that crimson desert if I don't see something big out of Gamescom I got a feeling like I'm going to drop that and I'm going to make one more big move.
4:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Do you know what it is? Do you know what big move it is? Can't tell you yet. Can't tell you, but I got something in my back pocket. Is it Battlefield 6? Because I feel like that's the obvious one right now. You think that's 85 or above? Don't tell him. Don't give him anything. I mean, do you not? You played it. It's good. It's really good. The popularity is there. Yep. I came in. We'll talk about it because it's story number one. The game feels good. It runs well. Like, as long as day one, the servers hold up, You would think reviews are going to be pretty positive On this I'd say at least an 80 Yeah but I need 85 or above That's what the team mantra is But you got Ninja Gaunt in 4 When that drops at 87 I think it could I mean here's the thing You and Roger Did this whole show This whole fucking circus Of a thing in the last couple of weeks And you got what you wanted anyway We got what we wanted but it wasn't the way that it was supposed to go down.
5:51The trade was fair and legal between two consenting adults. Oh, by the way, it should have went down.
5:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Roger spilled the beans on how it wasn't fair and legal at all. One, it wasn't fair and legal because it wasn't in the rules. But secondly, you sold it at one point as quid pro quo. It was like, yeah, what you traded him wasn't Crimson Dawn or Desert or whatever the fuck you want to call it. You were helping him in the Discord. In the basic Discord. That was the real trade. I can't speak on behalf of Mr. Remastered. and reworks over there, okay? He does his own thing. He just asked me for help, and I'm down to help. You know what I mean? But I had one goal, and that was the secure Ninja Gaiden 4.
6:30And it's been secured.
6:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That is so specifically against the heart of the law. It's not just technically against the rules. That's against the heart of the rule. That's why we have that in place. He was in there talking remasters. He was talking reworks. I don't know what he was doing, but I just said, Hey, looks slightly like a remaster to me. Golly, golly. Here's the thing. I don't know what you said to him. I don't know how you convinced him to drop Ninja Gaiden 4. That was all him. It's crazy. That's nuts. I don't know why he came to me, bless. He put this on a golden platter for me. Which is nuts. I was going to give up Crimson Desert, which let's just say in a perfect world, Crimson Desert comes out is flawless and awesome.
7:14I would have given up a pretty big winner. I was going to do that. Now he didn't ask me for anything. I just got it for free.
7:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Which is crazy. Here's the thing. We could get there where Ninja Gaiden 4 comes out and it does a solid 79. And we're all wrong except for Roger. Maybe Roger sees something that we don't and Final Fantasy Tactics gets a fucking 95. He's the tastemaker. But until we reach that point, I got to question it. You got to question it? I got to question it. What's his move? You know, just because, you know, the personal investment that I have in, you know, making sure mike doesn't uh win here um andy if you're listening to this maybe like drop skate story we know that skate story is not going to come out this year you have one unreleased any unreleased game drop that and then bid the rest of your money on battlefield 6 so mike doesn't get man if i had like that was the other thing is that i think you're the only person that had an open spot yes i was the only one that's why i felt good about it yeah that's why you're able to easily pick up ninja guy in four yeah um but man if i knew that that this is what it was going to be like this far into the year i would have kept some of that cash i would have kept I think I have dropped still.
8:18I was surprised that everybody had been full up up to this point. Yeah. Like Greg just picked up his final team the week prior with Octopath. And I was like, oh, man. I mean, Octopath is going to do really good for him. Hey, don't get me wrong. It's a great pickup. But I just be like, nobody had an open spot. Yeah. We're still, what, four months away from the end of the year. We still got time. I get you want to fill it all out. But I was playing with house money. I had nobody to really battle me here for it. Wow. Felt good.
8:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, listen, you're back in the game now. You've made this competitive, which I'm happy because I needed somebody. Made something here. You know what I mean? Because I know Barrett wasn't. Barrett was out here just hanging out. I don't even know what's on your thing. What's on your critic? What's Barrett got going on right now? I was number one for like a good chunk of the year, motherfucker. He's got Shinobi. He's got Marvel. He's in there. What's going to make or break me is if Unbeatable and Dispatch, whether they actually come out this year or not. And that's why I'm not actually thinking I have a shot at number one, because I have a feeling neither of them are actually going to come out this year.
9:22But Shinobi's going to get me back in that first place.
9:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Shinobi's going to do really well for you, I think. Yeah. Mike, enough about all that. Let's talk about today's stories. Because remember, this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. Each and every week that we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about, live on YouTube, Twitch, and on podcast services around the globe. if you love what we do support us with the kind of funny membership on patreon youtube spotify and apple podcast to get all of our shows ad free watch us record them live and get a daily exclusive show for a chance to be a part of the show some of your thoughts and opinions as youtube super chats as we go housekeeping for you we're an 11 person business all about live talk shows so today after kftd you're gonna get games cast which is about how we got to talk about the street fighter movie there's no this is one topic that we keep punting forward over and over again and we finally have time to talk about today and we have to talk about it today because there's something there's something up with the street fighter a lot of movies on tv shows we got to talk about it well we're going to talk about all the movies and tv shows at some point because that's a topic that i am passionate about currently or personally i should say i i've like i've like twisted the thoughts in my head as far as like what the format is yeah and i think what it is is like a like a like a smash or pass situation.
10:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yes. Do we keep it or we cut it? We go through all the greenlit fucking video game movies and we decide. We be the deciders. We be the shareholders. Twisted Metal Season 3. We keep it. Because it's already proven. Okay. It's already proven. Throw another one at me. God of War. See, this is where you get into conversation. And you'll have to wait until the episode to listen to that conversation. Even though I think that's a TV show, right? I mean, it's part of the conversation. I mean, maybe we just make it adaptations, but that's not great for headlines. Remember what happened to Master Chief?
11:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He started calling him Master Cheeks. Who's making it again? It happened to your boy. Is that an Amazon show, the God of War thing? I got to think about it. I got to sit on it. Of course, that's Gamescast. And after Gamescast is kind of funny podcast. Then the stream is Mafia the Old Country with Nick. If you're a kind of funny member, today's Gregway is coming at you from Roger. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Rays and Aura Frames, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is, and forever will be, the Roper Report.
11:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's time for some news. We have six stories today. A Baker's Dozen! Starting with our number one. battlefield 6 surpasses record half a million concurrent players on steam an all-time high for the franchise this is hassam nasir at tom's hardware okay after what can only be described as a dream rollout ea launched the open beta for battlefield 6 this weekend for only two days right now it's sitting at over 500 000 concurrent players with a peak of 521 000 and 79 players that it hit just an hour ago. Those are the best numbers for any Battlefield ever and by far. It's clear the community is loving the game, and every step the developers take have been intentioned with increasing the game's quality, including fragmented downloads and modest hardware requirements.
12:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Battlefield 6's open beta currently ranks 18th in the all-time player count for Steam games. That might not sound like much, but when you consider that it's the only FPS in the list, apart from Counter-Strike and two Battle Royale games being PUBG and Apex, suddenly it becomes a hell of a lot more impressive. Not only that, but Call of Duty ranks two tiers below at number 20, with its peak being reached almost three years ago with Modern Warfare 2. Mike, me and you, we played Battlefield 6 during this open beta. I've been loving this open beta. I was, I don't want to say hater, I've just always been of the mind that Battlefield is not my taste.
13:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and I've talked about this on KHTD's past where it's like a battlefield I associate with the big battles and like 64 players versus 64 players and I feel like there's less of an autonomy for me to like really have an impact on how my team's doing and all this shit playing this beta turned me around this is a really fun time, the moment to moment is a really really enjoyable one, what do you think of this new story? I'm really happy that you came around and enjoyed your time with the beta and I think a lot of people, clearly by the numbers, did as well I mean, when we talk about this story, this is a big deal for EA, for Battlefield Studios as a whole.
13:50This is a big win for the community that loves Battlefield. This is awesome to see this having such high player counts, having people come out really positive on this. I haven't seen much negativity, if any negativity, on this at all. It seems like everyone had a great weekend. And if you're EA and Battlefield, like I said, you got to be really happy. Now, of course, we go into weekend number two. we also now look towards October 6th or 10th and now we gotta kind of stick the landing also these numbers are great but that was a free to play weekend beta right like this was hey it's free you can jump in and try it we now have to convince people to buy it at a full price tag so where will we net out with this but all in all you gotta be very happy
14:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:with this. Two questions one for the chat one for you the one for chat if you want to super chat in is Battlefield officially back? Do you feel like this is the return to form that Battlefield is needed since, I'd say, Battlefield 4? Would that be the fair one to harken back to? Battlefield 1 or 5, the first one that came out, really did a great job as well. They stuck the landing on that one after Hardline. That one came back and really put Battlefield back on the map. Battlefield 1. I would say, yeah, since Battlefield 1. Battlefield 4 and 3, this is coming back to Battlefield 4 and 3. But Battlefield 1 had a lot of motion as well.
15:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, so Super Chat in, let us know what your thoughts have been during this beta period. But then my question for you is, do you think this has been enough? Do you think the conversation around it during this weekend and the player counts and all that stuff are enough to make people pay the premium price when it comes out? Yeah, so answer number one for your first question for the audience, Battlefield is definitely back. Hell yeah. Like Battlefield Studios and what this team did, four studios working on it, they nailed this. And so it's very exciting to see Battlefield back in such a good way.
15:35Of course, we'll see if they stick the landing with the campaign and multiplayer day one. But when we get to day one, a full price tag on this. Yes, bless. I think this will see positive numbers here, right?
15:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't think even with the trend of like all these first person free to play, battle royale, all that stuff. Yes, I still think there's going to find a large audience and a big time market space when we come to October, because this is such a compliment to Call of Duty and any first person shooter that you want. I think people have now seen that, hey, this is a premium title right here. This is a premium product that you will have to pay for, but you will have a really good time with. And I don't think people now, after these two free-to-play weekends, will hesitate to swipe the card when it is October.
16:20I think they've shown that now.
16:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:To bring in a Super Chat from Kebabs, remember when Halo was back after Infinite's beta, do you think there was a comparison there as far as how high people were on Infinite during that beta period and during, I'd say even like the first month of Halo, versus where that ended up. Do you think that there's a possibility we end up in that similar place with Battlefield, or do you think it's completely different? It's interesting you bring up that point, right, with Halo, because Halo was back, and Halo was back for that initial launch, right? It's different. This is like Halo coming out of the beta going, oh, wow, this is the Halo that I've wanted to play.
16:53This is the Battlefield I wanted to play. Come launch, we still loved Halo. It was three months afterwards when we were still playing the same maps from Halo, and we were looking for Forge, and we were looking for more content, right? They had this 10-year plan, but they were behind the eight ball and they didn't have any of that ready for launch and onward, right? And so now for Battlefield, yes, Battlefield is back. It feels great to play. It's fun to play. On October 10th, I think everybody's going to be very excited to jump back into this. And we'll say Battlefield is back. Three months afterwards, they're going to need to stick the landing, right?
17:27We use this term live service. We talk about just multiplayers having this roadmap, right? There is some sort of free-to-play battle royale option that they're working on. When will that be released?
17:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Is that confirmed free-to-play? That's the rumor right now. So we'll see what that looks like. But then there's also, on the opposite side, Battlefield Portal. That is the user-generated content. If that comes out day one, then that's going to have a lot of longevity for the players to have. You have a campaign, a multiplayer, and this Battlefield Portal as your first initial product. Would be great to have it launch. and I think it will give some legs and we will say Battlefield is back. Three months down the road, hopefully the Battlefield team is ready for X amount of maps. Hopefully Battlefield Portal is doing a lot of great stuff from the user-generated content side where they're highlighting that on their end from the Battlefield team and showing it to the players of saying, hey, there's more cool things to do than just Breakout, Conquest, and Rush.
18:26Try these out that you, the fans, have made. And then on top of that, hey, how do we drum this up of we're doing Ring of Fire. We're making a battle royale. It'll be three months, six months down the road. Keep with us. Stay excited.
18:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. I want to bring in some more super chats from y 'all. Dose of Nostalgia writes in and says, huge improvement. Convinced six of my friends to hop in the beta that haven't played it in years. I'd say it's back. Spartan 2842 writes in and says, Battlefield is back. Battlefield veteran. And this is modern Battlefield 3 slash Battlefield 4. and then we have one from Alex Rage who says if they drop a battle royale like Warzone but with the level-olution of Battlefield I'm all in and that's the funny thing yeah like you mentioned I think one of the things that has brought me in right and has impressed me is the tactical destruction as you call it like you like that yeah where like buildings can crumble based off of like this like fucking explosions going off or like damage taken and all that shit right like there's this real time destruction aspect of it that reminds me of like playing a little bit of Rainbow Six Siege even though Siege was a bit more tactical about it, I think those big moments where I am in a house and I'm like, oh shit, the house is falling.
19:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We gotta move. We gotta do something. I think that adds a fun level of chaos. But I hear you talk about love-olution and whenever I hear you talk about it, I'm like, damn, that sounds like a good time. Do you think that's something that makes its way back in the Battle Royale mode or do you think that's just the thing of the past? Yeah, it was really interesting to be at the EA presentation and now playing the beta and having that word kind of disappear from the EA marketing ways, right? Back in the day, Battlefield, of course, the only in Battlefield moments, Levolution was this big one center stage piece that would change over time in the middle of a game mode, and that would affect the map.
20:11Now they've gone away from that. They're not using the word Levolution anymore. It is tactical destructibility, right? Or destruction, which you're seeing with all the walls crumbling. So there isn't that big one piece, and I think that's totally fine, right? I don't think I need the one giant tower in Shanghai to crumble down right now during this beta. Would I love to see that in the future? Yeah, of course. I think we might get there. There's a big piece of me that wants to shine a light on the maps that we're currently playing. I think a lot of people, when you're not a Battlefield diehard, look at Battlefield and go, man, it is a giant map.
20:47I have no true player effect being one person out of a 64-man lobby. When I run 500 meters that way, it takes me three minutes to get there. I die, and I have to rinse and repeat. These maps feel much smaller, and I like that, right? And I think I've gone on record saying that that peak map that you've been on on the side of the mountain, I bet you that will be the fourth largest map in the map rotations out of the nine that they have. I think there will be five that are lower and smaller, like you see with the two right now, and then maybe three that are much bigger in size. But we found a really happy medium with the Battlefield maps during this beta where it makes it feel like players that aren't Battlefield diehard and understand the world of this giant endless war are like, oh, I'm in it more.
21:34I'm in the action all the time. Instead of, man, I got really bored running to point C over there. Like, that sucked. Now we got to run to point D. if you think back to Battlefield 2042 we're on that giant NASA map in Florida and it took hours to run across the map and then you'd get there and the fight would be over then you'd have to run all the way across the other map this beta and the maps that they chose have been a really good way to showcase it all
21:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:bringing in a couple more super chats one from DemonHacker who says enjoyed it not$70 worth I need 2C free BR 2C free battle royale so that's interesting yeah so now you're waiting on the Battle Royale you want to see that free product and I think that's going to be the big one right if Battle Royale is free when they launch it timing wise but like this is the Call of Duty move right here of hey we're still giving you that premium product that we do with multiplayer and just the Call of Duty brand we're doing that with Battlefield and we're going to have this detached mode that is Battle Royale Ring of Fire go play that as the free to play and hopefully it gets you excited maybe they have some sort of umbrella like call of duty where you'll level up your guns you'll share xp and progression between the two and maybe you'll be more enticed of like oh battlefield's on sale six months down the road and i've been playing the free-to-play mode let me jump in now listen super chest help me help you you know what i mean when you're writing demon hacker when you're right i need to see free battle royale it was a short sentence you could have spelt out those words demon hacker says the$2 Super Chat has character limits.
Read the full transcript
23:08So we had to mess around.
23:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But that wasn't, this is a very short Super Chat. He doesn't need to hit the character limit. They want to see the Battle Royale. You used the number two instead of just saying T-O. And then you said C instead of C. That's what the cool kids do, though. It's not what the cool kids do. They did that in 2005. I'm reading this out loud on a talk show. And then Norman here wrote, still a chance they messed things up, but it's starting to look like they may pull off this big comeback. Mike, what are the key ways that you think they could mess up this new Battlefield? Oh, yeah. There's probably a million of them, but server stability, logging queues, cheaters are all going to be a big thing here come launch day.
23:54And I think we've seen that before with plenty of other multiplayer, really, games at the focus of all this. And it's great that we had a good time at the EA event. It's great that we're having a good time with weekend number one of the free beta. Hopefully have a great week of weekend number two at the beta. But all of this won't matter until day one. When you have to put down your card and buy this game for a full price, it better deliver and it better be ready to rock and roll. And yeah, there's a number of ways this could go horribly wrong. But hopefully, that's why you do these betas. That's why you have the server stress tests.
24:27That's why you prepare for this. So we get there. But we've said that many times with a thousand games. and sometimes it just doesn't work uh speaking of cheaters story number two cheaters are already
24:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:spotted in battlefield 6's open beta despite secure boot requirement this is vicky blake at ign battlefield 6 isn't even out yet but cheaters have already infiltrated the open beta on pc that's the fight that's despite requiring players to enable secure boot to access the playtest and ea's own anti-cheat system javelin ea has issued a statement acknowledging the cheating occurring in Battlefield 6 and highlighting its efforts to combat it. In the post, the publisher says its existing tech has already prevented 330 ,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls. Additionally, players reported 44 ,000 instances of cheating on day one and another 60 ,000 today so far.
25:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:EA says it'll continue to evolve its efforts to combat cheating and encourages users to continue reporting issues mike cheating in competitive first person shooters it's a tale as old as time week oh it's a week i mean it's a week move like oh yes oh yeah well week what's can you in the in the snow bike mike i guess understanding of cheating in these games can you explain it to me like i'm somebody who's just so foreign to this stuff because i've always known about cheating in this stuff but i think because maybe because i'm a console player or maybe because I don't play I'm not as like hardcore playing all the time kind of thing I don't I don't feel like I've experienced much of it or at least seeing it what's like your take on seeing cheating like this go down in these games I mean that's what kills a lot of these games bless is the frustration that it will give the general audience as they jump into lobbies and are just absolutely destroyed by hackers and cheaters and they're not having a good time right it ruins the fun and the core of these video games.
26:27That is like at step one of all of this. On the cheating side, cheaters are everywhere. Cheating will always happen. It is the revolving door of these multiplayer games that will continue to happen, right? You set up an anti-cheat. People now are encouraged to try to break that anti-cheat, to sell cheats to people, to them to go buy them and then go use them. But like there's never been a game that I can think of. There's been good ones that have done very good, but there's none that have ever like stomped out cheating to zero percent like that it's just an impossible feat that you're always ever evolving and changing and you're always battling against and you're working towards right like that is just something that these teams have to do day in and day out and figure out the answers towards some teams have done really really well with that and you've found games that have kind of squashed that and battled past that a lot of that is seen in free-to-play games where there is that like hey it's free so if i get caught cheating i can just lose that account i'll jump in with my next account and i I can cheat again, or I can just play the game that's meant to be played.
27:28When it's a$70 title, it's usually a little bit less than that when it becomes, hey, I got to pay$70 to cheat and then have all that access taken away and then reset, right? And so we're hoping for a little bit less, but it will always be there. You're never not going to see cheating. It's just a battle of the push and pull of developers creating their anti-cheat, this anti-cheat going deep into your computer software to try to get it to stop, and then evolving from that and working towards that.
27:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Have you ever cheated in a multiplayer game? No, I've never cheated because I'm not that smart on the computer side to download cheats and do all that. I would blow the computer up before I figured out how to properly do it. But no, I am bad enough to just admit that I suck and just have fun with it. Interesting. A lot of the things of like a lot of ways to combat cheating if you're on the console side of things, a lot of people yell, well on console you can't cheat. You can cheat on a console but it's not as like prevalent as PC gaming. So you turn off cross-play and you play console only. You have a better time.
28:29But there's always going to be a small margin of like there's a chance a cheater could be in your lobby. It's going to happen. And so a lot of people said out of this, and clearly the numbers show, there was a lot of cheating going on somehow.
28:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Wild. Would you say if a developer put up, let's say a barrier or a rule set, players should adhere to that. Players should adhere to those standards. Yeah, like Like how us as human beings have like put out the golden rule and we never follow the golden rule. Because like why would I treat others the way that I want to be treated? Because you mentioned like, you know, buying and selling and people kind of colluding together to get around these systems that the, you know, these admins and these. That's true. You know what? These developers. Now that you put it like that, I think about it like if it's between two consenting adults.
29:15Get the fuck out of here. Like if two consenting parties say, I want to have a cheater filled lobby.
29:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Rewind the last two minutes and think about Fantasy Critic. Rewind everything that fucking Mike said in the last two to four minutes. I take it all back. I'm down. He's a fucking hypocrite. All right. I'm tired of you. When you cheat, it's not just. It was Roger's fault. It's not just two adults involved, though, when you cheat. Yeah, but that was Roger. He just won my game. I had to help him. Me and you, we don't like cheaters. That's an insane number. 300 oh that's a wild number 330 000 just to roll back right yeah we just celebrated the concurrent player count being 500 000 on steam 300 000 cheaters that's insane number to be adding up yeah accounts being deleted people still playing that's crazy that's nuts um mike we're gonna move on talk a bit about diablo which i know that you're into but before we get there i want to talk to the audience about patreon.com slash kind of funny and youtube.com slash kind of funny games where you can go and get the Kind of Funny membership, which allows you to get shows ad-free.

34:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Visit store for full terms. Story number three. Rod Ferguson departs Blizzard and the Diablo franchise. This is Rebecca Valentine at IGN. Diablo general manager and Gears of War veteran Rod Ferguson has left Blizzard. Ferguson confirmed the news on his personal Twitter slash X account. Quote, After five years of driving the Diablo franchise forward with four big launches, it's time for me to step away from Blizzard slash Microsoft, sword in hand, and see what's next, Ferguson wrote. Quote, The teams are set up for success with an exciting slate of releases ahead. I'm incredibly proud of what we've built together and looking forward to what comes next for Diablo and for me.
34:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:End quote. Blizzard confirmed this news to IGN today as well, but declined to offer further comment as to why Ferguson has left the company or who will run the Diablo franchise going forward. Mike, what's your immediate take on this? First part, congratulations to Rod on a great run with that Diablo team. Thank you to him and that talented, awesome development crew that really put Diablo back on the map. It's great to see Diablo back with Diablo 4 and really thriving and had an awesome run with that game. I love that. I'm so happy that it's back and like in a big way. Shout out to Rod and his team for doing a great job.
35:34Shout out to Rod for hopefully having a really fun time with that crew and part of his knowledge, maybe learning some stuff from that. So congratulations and best of luck wherever you go. It'll be exciting to see where he goes. Yeah. Right. You'd love to look at the camera and be like, Rod, like, come on back to the coalition. Let's make gears again. Right. or if you're Snowbike Mike, you'd be like, hey, why don't you go work on my favorite franchise, Big Dog, Halo, and help that team out, you know what I mean? But this is a talented dude, many years and experience in the industry. It'll be awesome to see where he goes next and what team he works with and helps.
36:08Bear, what's up? I was also, because didn't, wasn't he also one of the people who worked on Bioshock Infinite? Yes. We also just recently got those reports that Bioshock 4's development is kind of a mess right now. Maybe.
36:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and he goes back to Balshock. Goes to Balshock. Think about it. Everybody wants it to go back to Infinite. But yeah, this one strikes me as one of those ones where you join a team, you work there for a while, you launch the big game, and you help see the big game through that first year, first couple of years, and now it's like, alright, job is done. Do I want to keep doing, like, you know, figure out what my next project is here, or like, you know, keep ushering towards that, or you want to step away and do something else creative, right? Like, I feel like this is one of those times where in this process of where Diablo's at, it kind of makes sense.
36:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You know, if you wanted to leave to, like, make this the timing that you do it. It's a really interesting one, especially with, like, Rod Ferguson and some of these, like, older game developers who have been in the game for a long time, right? Of, like, hey, they've cut their teeth on X, Y, and Z development squad where they stayed for a long time. Now they kind of have the option and the flexibility to go, hey, I helped this team. We launched this game. It was a lot of fun. I want to move on to something different and keep jumping over and over, which is kind of cool to see. Yeah. Story number four, a Far Cry TV show is reportedly in development at FX.
37:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This is Vicky Blake at Eurogamer. A TV show based on Ubisoft's Far Cry franchise is allegedly in development at FX. Confirmation came not via a leak, but apparently from Ubisoft itself, which posted about the show on its own site before quickly redirecting it back to the main page again, albeit not quite quickly enough to have escaped the notice of Reddit. it those who managed to access the page before it was removed report rob mac formerly known as rob yeah from it's always sunny in philadelphia mythic quest welcome to rexam and holly uh from fargo and alien earth are the far cry series co-creators holly will also reportedly serve as showrunner while mac is set to star in the show oh the series will be executive produced by mac holly and jackie Khan for more better productions Michael Garcia for 26 keys productions Nick Frankel for three arts and Ubisoft's Gerard Guillemot Margaret Boykin and Austin Dill well this collaboration is really an embarrassment of riches Boykin who serves as Ubisoft film and television head of film and television content quote Far Cry is a psychological tailspin that doesn't shy away from the darkest and most absurd parts of humanity which aligns perfectly with FX's bold and fearless storytelling style end quote it's thought the show will be an anthology drama where each season will be set in a new world with a different with with a different cast of characters following the video game franchise's signature standalone storytelling format mike a far cry anthology tv series you into it when i read this at 9 0 5 a.m with you this morning i was not into it Then at about 9.45 After checking out some of the reviews For Alien Earth I was like you know what FX They're kind of cooking over there Maybe I'm into it And now that you read Rob Mack is on the squad I'm really into this Bless This is one that I would smash I wouldn't pass I'm not cutting this one Bless I'm keeping this one You had me at Rob Mack Because I mean to him Bear you love Myth of Quest 2 oh yeah yes um mike did you watch mythic quest i did i watched all of it oh okay yeah we're all lovers here right mythic quest such a good fucking show and it saddened me that it was canceled but also i was like yeah i could have seen the company like that felt like it was gonna happen at some point uh the fact that they got so many episodes that it did i'm very happy about um but rob mac worked on that series as well started it and who did he collaborate for with for that series ubisoft ubisoft had a big hand in mythic quest and like a lot of the game assets i believe maybe if not all the game assets uh in that show were partnered and developed by ubisoft um and so to see rob mac and ubisoft continue to shake hands and work together i think honestly rob mac might be one of the best things ub has going for it right now so let's fast forward now it's been green lit we're setting it all up we're ready to rock and roll season one where does season one of a far cry tv show have to take place boss it has to it's got to be on an island it's got to be on an island I think you have to have, I mean, you get the same actor that played Vos in the game.
40:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He's so good. He's great. He plays Scorpion, doesn't he? Well, that's not why we say he's also in Better Call Saul. He was like one of the best characters. But for reference, he's that guy, right? Yeah, he is also Scorpion. We'll see how that happens. From Homecoming. Yeah. Remember those five seconds? For those five seconds. But yeah, you have him. He's an actor. He's doing live action as well. And I would love to see him reprise that role. i think you get rob mac yeah in the main character seat that see the thing i wonder about this is the part where i'm like i'm really fascinated to see because they talk about it right they say far cry is a psychological tailspin that doesn't shy away from the darkest and most absurd parts of humanity which aligns perfectly with fx rob mac i believe is best when he's being a goofball i think he's best when he's being funny i like him as a comedic actor and if this show tries to be serious and earnest, I don't know.
41:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't know if Rob Mack is the guy to sell me on that. But you had some moments in Mythic Quest where you bought into his character, you bought into his story. He had some down-to-earth heartwarming stories and heartbreaking stories in that. But all in an over-the-top way. I get it, but put it in there of you'll still have the comedy, you'll still have the fun, but now with a little bit of you know a little bit more darkness and that's what i hope they that they're leaning into when they say most absurd parts of humanity i hope that is them being like hey we want to combine what our talents are right you have a rob mac that can be absurd that can be funny that can be all this but we also want to make it fucked up because far cry is also great when it's being fucked up and so if you can combine those two dark things and have like even if it's not the the boss actor if you can have if rob mac is in this protagonist role if you can have the antagonist be something that be somebody that is uh willing to match that energy but on like a dark and fucked up side where rob mac is like fuck i'm trapped on this island and then the antagonist is like we're gonna fucking kill you like i think that is um a recipe for what could be gold um that then leads me to be very interested in this anthology part of it i think that's what that's the part where i'm like okay that's true to the series but also i think that's a tough sell for me a little bit oh if like the connective tissue between the anthology tv series of far cry is the fact that all right you're always trapped in either an island or a a wilderness or like some kind of like you're trapped with a narcissist who's trying to kill you like is that what every season is going to be i'm just fascinated to see what that ends up being yeah i let's see let's get to season one you know what i mean sure like sure you got to get through season one without this being canceled but yeah you are right blessed like how do you do that and i think the exciting part is as far cry fans you love that of like every far cry is different but at the same time the same so you know what you're getting into and i would love to have different stories being told what's the we see that in a lot of series right now with different hbo shows as well doing something similar what's the connective tissue you would say between the far cry games like story-wise not because gameplay wise first person shooter yeah you're doing some hunting open world exploring batshit antagonists batshit antagonists is like the one thing where I'm like okay this is what they all have in common are you using are you truly using the same characters from the game no like are you really bringing Vos into this well Vos I think yes I think Vos is a smart way to like start it off and I think from there maybe you do some original stuff you're not going Far Cry 4 guy on him maybe you do well Far Cry 6 you had you had our guy john carlo john carlo there's that's why i was thinking that during the ad during the ad break mike was trying to remember a name of a person we played magic with and he said gene carlo and we're like that's not his name i'm thinking of him that's not his name at all um but yeah john carlo like that's my thing is i i i think the main characters you don't really need to be true to because like i don't i feel like it's the villains that really stand out and that are important you don't remember the far cry three main characters name i remember the far cry theme main character sucking i remember people i remember people not liking the far cry three main character that much so yeah just i mean rob mack honestly is a great choice to replace that yeah yeah i can't wait i i really want to see how this comes together also why not bring in the family from far cry 5 and great time to do it oh for sure oh yeah that's my thing yeah That religious cult in the middle of America?
45:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I guess that is how... I guess, you know what? I've now been sold on the anthology thing. Because, like, yeah, if you just base it around, like, every season is a different Far Cry villain, then you got something. Because, yeah, you have Vos, you have Troy Baker in 4, you have the family from 5, you have Giancarlo Esposito from 6. Yeah. What if they do Far Cry Primal? Far Cry 5, underrated. Far Cry... Here's the thing. Far Cry Primal, I think he... Maybe. I'm not coming it out because here's the thing. I can see them doing Blood Dragon. I think they're specials. I don't think they're full seasons.
45:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think these are like in between a season. You do an episode. You do a Blood Dragon episode. If you did a Blood Dragon episode, I'd be there. I'd be so fucking there. Okay. And a Far Cry Primal one. Yeah, dude. What was the other one? Didn't they have one after five twins? Yeah, it was. That was the one that Nick played. And it's like kind of. New Dawn. Yeah. It's kind of a sequel to Far Cry 5. Yeah. because things happen at the end of that yeah things happen at the end of far cry 5 which like fucking heavy man it was crazy like crazy ending of a game um somebody puts breaking in here and i don't know if i want to talk about this oh okay
46:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:it's an instagram post from a shirtless greg miller with the championship the kind of funny world championship and then also he's holding a new trophy uh he writes in the instagram caption happy monday for the man who led team blue to its third straight championship and as of friday won the nick scarpino game showdown invitational tournament honestly the most dominant run in kind of funny game showdown history and there's no sign of it stopping anytime soon wow any hashtags hashtag kind of funny which i don't think you need a hashtag that hashtag game showdown again i don't know if those hashtags are helping uh hashtag tim sucks and then hashtag gary gary Wittable Wit.
46:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We had a blue it. Blue. Oh, Gary. No, wit. Gary Wittable. Blue it. I said, I said Gary Wittable Wit. Yeah. You got to capitalize, you know. Intercapped. It's a hashtag thing. It's a hashtag thing. Yeah. I got a slack from Greg saying, feel free to tell them that I said you had to insert it as breaking news. It's just fucked up that they didn't congratulate me in housekeeping. Yeah. See, I didn't know he won. See, whatever happened to not spoiling things, you know. It's past the weekend. It's Monday. It premieres Friday. Is that the hard rule kind of funny? It's been three days. It's a 30-minute episode of Conch.
47:32Every Monday we reset. If you haven't caught up on anything, guess what? Anything that's ever happened, Monday's the day.
47:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Here's the exact updated MCU list, all right? Are you guys ready? Number one. Jesus Christ. Story number five. Take-Two Head admits Civ 7 is off to a slow start. This is Joseph Allen at TechRaptor. Take-Two Head Strauss Zelnik has admitted that Civ 7, the latest game in the long-running Civ strategy series, is off to a slow start, but he's confident that 2K and Firaxis can turn the game's fortunes around. Speaking of IGN, Zelnik acknowledged that Civilization VII's beginnings haven't exactly been auspicious, and that the development team has had to, quote, make changes to the game's initial release version.
48:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He's likely referring to the fact that when Civ VII launched, it was met with a mixed reception from the series fan base, with common criticisms including its UI and the sweeping changes made to the game's core gameplay. 2K and Firaxis subsequently pledged to address those criticisms and to continue updating and improving the game. Despite Civ 7's slow start, Zelnik remains optimistic about the game's lifetime value, suggesting that the long-term performance of the game will make up for its less-than-ideal beginnings. He says that, quote, consumer uptake is better and better when it comes to Civ 7 and that it will eventually take its place in its Civ pantheon.
48:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Zelnik says the series has always been a slow burn, and so the fact that Civilization 7's initial sales have been slow doesn't mean the lifetime sales will be poor as well. Mike, were you into Civ 7 at launch? Yeah, as the Civ newbie that jumped into Civ 7 and had a really good time, when I talked to Civ veterans, that's how this goes. right they always say oh don't worry about it mike we wait till game update one the first dlc they'll fix it all it'll be a better game but everybody says at launch it's never the sieve that they want and there's a bunch of problems with it as the newbie i had a really good time but when i talked to sieve veterans this seems to be the cycle of sieve new sieve game gets announced everybody's excited new sieve game comes out the the diehard fans say it's not good enough We'll wait till the first update.
49:44The updates come out. They proceed to love it again. And it just has a nice long lifespan.
49:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, Mike, I want to see Civ7 get to the place where the audience is unanimously happy. Because if they do that, that'll be big news. Big news. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go? Plus, I'd take you to our last story, the We News channel, where we cover all the small items you need to know about. Story number six is We News. blipo plus launches september 23rd on switch and pc it's already on play date barrett's pulling up a trailer for blipo plus because i also want to know i also want to know what's going on here this does not look like gameplay at all this is all live action weird stuff yeah i'm trying to like like what the fuck is the game let me tell you this developer they got personality though they got something cooking they got a devolver direct type vibe going on right now man See we should be on this How do we meet them and say like Let me do a commercial Just cold email them I guess Just start cold emailing them Hey when you make Blipo plus plus Hey I like you I like your studio If you're ever looking for somebody to be in your next trailer Let me know I have an audience Maybe not as big as the audience you're looking for But it's an audience Pay me This is another trailer and it's still just...
51:04Is this the game?
51:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Maybe it's an FMV. No, because it was a Playdate game, so no way it looked like this. That is true. Maybe the gameplay is like the scroll there. Yeah, this stuff here is this channel. Yeah. Remember Cable? What the fuck are you talking about? We were like, you know, we killed Cable and now we're bringing Cable back pretty much. Yeah, just through streaming. I don't know if Cable is like dead, dead. I mean, I still use Cable. I still got Cable. You ain't got Cable. I got Cable up at the Tahoe house. I love it. Oh, you're paying for Cable at the Tahoe house? Oh, yeah, I can't stop. What the fuck is wrong with that?
51:34Can you watch it? Yeah, I have Charter on my phone in the app You know what I mean? So I can watch cable down here as well Oh, okay, that's cool Yeah, that's pretty cool You can access a couple of channels If you're not on the home Wi-Fi Yeah For the apps But you get most of the stuff that I would normally watch ESPN and all that jazz Okay
51:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You brought me back around That's pretty cool Some MTV Ridiculousness I'll watch 60 hours of Ridiculousness right now Ridiculousness You're not watching Ridiculousness in 2025 I love Ridiculousness in 2025 Are we in 2011? What's happening right now? That shit's the best show around, bro. Golly. Henry Halfhead launches September 16th on PS5, Switch, and PC. This game actually looks pretty cool. We saw this at Day of the Devs. I saw this. I saw this at, I think, a summer game fest play days like a year ago. Yeah. And I got to play a little bit of it. It's like another one of those indie puzzle games.
52:26Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I heard that it's like two hours long. Oh. So it's like a little bite-sized one for you. Yeah, you're playing as a little guy. We're going to do the top 10 little guys shit list. Did you hear about this? Top 10 little guys shit list. Top 10 little guys. Top 10 little guys. Hit me with it. Give me three little guys ready to rock and roll. Top three little guys. You want me to give it to you or you're giving it to you? We're going to go back and forth on the little guys. Oh, we're going back and forth? Yeah, I'm trying to think of a couple little guys right now. Of the little guys. It's out of my head.
52:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, the guys from Cana Bridge of Spirits. Those little guys. I like that. Yeah, I love those little guys. Pikmin. I love a Pikmin Those are little guys Oh man It's tough to do it off the top of the head Yeah it's tough to give it off Shy guys Tinykin guys The little gloobs you pick up in Tinykin I beg to differ blessing You think shy guys are little guys They have little guy energy They're the same size as everything else in that world Yeah but they're little And he's got little guy energy Play his shy guy in a Mario Kart And tell me he doesn't have little guy energy I feel like there's way more little.
53:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like Toad is the little guy of Mario. Nah, he's done too much cocaine. Goombas are more little guys. In fact, Goomba is mine. Grunts in Halo. That's a top little guy. Oh, that's a good little guy. That's a top 10 little guy. Can I say Astro Bot? The bots from Astro Bot. He's a little guy. He's a little guy. Yeah, I like that. I like that. I like him. All right. There's some little guys. Mimir. Nope. Diddy Kong. He's just a head. Top 10 little guy. Sure. Yeah. He loves him. I'll give that to you. Yeah, he's a little guy. Mimir is a grown-ass man. Just a head, though. Bear's not convinced that Diddy Kong is a little guy.
54:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm not. Because the other thing we were talking about with little guys, because we went all over the place just now, is kind of like that sidekick energy, like sidekick little guy as well. Yeah, little guy's got sidekick energy. Which is Diddy Kong. Diddy Kong's got little guy energy. Like, think Donkey Kong Country. Yeah. Diddy Kong is the little guy of Donkey Kong Country. It's fair. It's fair. I'm not fully convinced but and like what in the DK rap when they start rapping about Diddy what do they say put him in jail oh no I can't live in jail more wee news for you date everything sales hit half a million team 17 announces have you played this yet I started it and the UI scared me away oh really yeah it starts off like it just starts off slow for me and I was tired that night and I was like I'll come back to this and I never came back to it yeah but I love it in concept but i think for me i just was not in the mood when i started it and that is it for we news before we get out of here we're gonna look into some super chat see what y 'all are saying uh claw master writes in and says i'm calling collusion between mike and roger you know what there was some collusion but now it's it's been it's already happened and everything was done smoothly and now everything that's been done everything's been done is actually fair and legal everything now is above board yep is it in favor roger absolutely not i mean roger i mean how it was done was not above board well well he dropped the game i had to pick it up you know what i mean he had to drop the game roger roger's team at the end of the day will be a sixth place team and we're going to tease him for that yeah and he kind of did that to himself he did that to himself but i'm more concerned about you mike i'm trying to win you got a good you got a good fighting chance yeah now mike does have a really good fighting chance uh trevor writes in says got to level 20 in the battlefield 6 beta and wanted to keep playing definitely issues to iron out but overall good experience little to no network issues nick shefani uh writes in with a birthday tax entered the last year of my 30s today happy birthday nice happy birthday big dog uh scrolling down a little bit kebab says heads up your wrong is broken anyways blood dragon already got a show in 2023 called Captain Laserhawk, a Blood Dragon remix.
56:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kebabs, we know about Captain Laserhawk. Captain Laserhawk. We know about Captain Laserhawk. I just want to let you know. We're just saying that if the live action Far Cry show... No, because Kebabs... Listen, I'm happy it's 404 because I'm tired of Kebabs. Alright? Kebabs just wanted to keep you posted. Make sure you know. Make sure you're aware. Kuma Babam writes in and says, y 'all should watch FX Fargo series. They have an interesting way of doing an anthology series that connects that I think can work for Far Cry. You ever watch Fargo? No. My mom loves Fargo. I know people love Fargo. I watched a couple episodes with it, but I never have.
56:49Fargo season one, like, fucking tops. Yeah, people like that.
56:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Maybe I'll watch Fargo. I like what FX be cooking. They cook some good stuff. They cook good stuff. Yeah. Atlanta, Dave, Rami. It's Alien Earth for me. I'm watching Alien. You're watching Alien Earth? Well, when that comes out, yeah, yeah. We're a couple days away. About to go down. Was it on the show that I said King of the Hill, or was that before the show? I think that was before the show. You were watching King of the Hill. I don't know what channel that's on, but I've been watching it on Hulu. And let me tell you. It's not really a channel anymore. Because that was a Fox show. I keep thinking it's Adult Swim, but that's because it was syndicated or whatever.
57:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Good show. You've been watching the new Always Sunny? No, I don't keep up with new It's Always Sunny. Yeah? Oh, I love It's Always Sunny. Yeah, yeah. I didn't like the Ireland season that they had, which was like the last one of the season before that. Yeah, they went to Ireland. I didn't love that at the end of the day. It was, you know... They had themes. Themes, yeah. Okay. Okay. I don't want to spoil it for you if you start watching. Somebody's wife died? What is going on? But the new season, we're back. We're back to what I want. Dexter Schwarzler says, let me have at it with Greg and take his title with a winky face.
57:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Let me have at it. Is that like a UK kind of sentence? Let me have at it. Let me have at it. Let me have at it. Let me have at it. Or is that like, oh, never mind. uh eric myers writes and it says danny mcgride as hirk would go hard futon uh says they're doing far cry 5 and rob is the villain yeah i mean rob mac as the far cry 5 villain that that casting does work yeah unfortunately like i'm not trying to say anything about rob mac could be good but it does make sense but also i don't know i want him to be a fuck i actually know it really works yeah no actually that's good casting yeah it's wild because i i want to go to the island but like yes we probably could just jump right to that yeah okay yeah okay um and then demon hacker says if they had balls they would adapt blood dragon uh there's a tv there's a show about it if you didn't know yeah there's a show made a movie show it's called um captain laser hawk called captain laser hawk a blood dragon remix uh resolute says good anti-cheat used to be as important as rollback netcode man let me tell you i love i love that we're in the area of rollback netcode when you think about rollback netcode that's what people in the multiplayer first person shooter genre think about anti-cheat yeah they want it they need it they deserve it and we got to find a way to make it good but everybody has their own everybody's trying their best we're all trying our best uh they also write in right and say you're a loser if you cheat in games nobody's impressed learn to get better at something mike what's your thoughts about that Yeah, you're a jabroni if you're cheating.
59:34Don't be cheating. You're ruining the experience for others. It's not fun to hop onto your TikTok live and see you cheating and murdering people with no skill or effort whatsoever. I don't know how you think that's fun. I don't think it's fun. Nobody watching you thinks that's fun. Yeah. You better be making a lot of money. If you're cheating, you better make a lot of money. Because you know what? You shouldn't be playing.
59:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:If I hop into your TikTok live and you're fucking doing what do they call it? Auto aim? The auto scope or whatever? Yeah, Wall Hacks. Wall Hacks. Yeah, the honor way. And, like, you're going on to Discords, and you're talking about, oh, but it's a remake, remaster. Here's an article. And you're doing that so then you can trade for Ninja Gaiden 4. Did you read that at all? That's got to be, like, the most fun. I'm, like, insane Discord channel. Like, all those kids love those games. All those kids are rallied around Fantasy Critic and talking about games and being really, like, for real. And then here comes Mike and Roger.
1:00:29Join the Discord ping. happens like 12 hours ago and our first comments are, man, this shouldn't be, this isn't a remaster, it's a remake. I hate y 'all so much. Don't type anything else in and that's it.
1:00:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Todd. Boycott Activision writes in and says, the maps need more verticality. Do you think we need more verticality in Battlefield 6? Yeah, it was surprising and interesting to not see anything past like a two-story to three-story house in Battlefield 6 when you think about like verticality and like really looking up high. That's why I'm saying I think you'll see three more maps that'll be much larger in scope. I think you'll see some more downtown maps that will have people up on top of towers. But for this open beta, I think they nailed the maps that they should be showing. I think when the game comes out, yes, you should have a lot more verticality.
1:01:17There should be more zip lines. This one teases one zip line, but really doesn't have a zip line going on. Or maybe you'll see that soon in the New York map that I got to play next week and you'll see it. But there's clearly zip lines. there should be there should be taller buildings yes when you pulled out the parachute like
1:01:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:boom on mine i was like they got parachutes in this game yeah you're right there could be more verticality there uh and then i'll bring i'll bring in this one from mick platypus who writes in and says the only thing that could tank battlefield six is an overly aggressive monetization also they need a map like wake island slash parcel storm i mean that was a fun time i i don't think you ever played that, Bless, but they had these really cool, just straight out in the ocean maps where you would jump from naval ship to naval ship. You'd have to whip mini boats or swim across to get onto the next boat.
1:02:10It was pretty cool, so shout out to that idea. The heavy monetization, that'll be a tough one to blend right there. I think we're just in the day and age of everyone's going to put a storefront up, everyone's going to charge you$5 to$15 for skins and gun charms and gun skin so like it's just gonna happen right i think it's more on the side of like they got to have new maps and game modes or just continuing to ensure that the players have something fun and fulfilling to play i don't think the heavy monetization plays a factor into killing the audience or killing the game the audience just simply won't buy it right that's all kindoffunny.com
1:02:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:slash you're wrong is where you can write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so you can correct it for those watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. We have one in here from DarkTagger who writes in and says, Mythic Quest used game cutscenes and assets from other games outside of Ubisoft titles. For example, Elder Scrolls Online had some cutscenes used in Mythic Quest. That's a good one. I don't think I realized or I didn't remember that there were games that weren't Mythic Quest represented in there. But I was thinking of the original Mythic Quest assets that they had.
1:03:19Yeah, they would sometimes use, I recognize Assassin's Creed Odyssey is like some of the like transition shots from like scene to scene and stuff which i always thought was funny yeah yeah i loved whenever they would cut to a game and you try to figure out what it was if you've never seen it before it's always fun uh and then i'll try to figure out what's
1:03:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:going on with the um 404 era that error that kebabs was mentioning because at least that one came in oh but that was the only one that came in did you block kebabs i don't even know how to Well, no, I see the 404 on my end. And here's the thing. I don't want to throw stones. Right. Because I'll fully read this slack. See, I was on Kebabs' side until Kebabs threw me under the bus. Damn. I saw that comment, Kebabs. Damn. I was on your side, Kebabs. I was riding for you. She knows how to, like, create a love-hate relationship. Where it's like, I love that Kebabs is there every day. I love how active Kebabs is in the community, right?
1:04:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kebabs, like, I can always rely on her to be there. But then kebabs will put in some bullshit Fucking hit your wrong I will say that I don't know when that you're wrong came in But at 10.34 when I was getting slacks from Greg to Put in that Instagram as breaking news He did say at one point actually LOL I'll submit it to you're wrong and I said You sure I already put it in the doc and he said Oh go for it so I do wonder if Maybe Greg somehow bricked you wrong Oh that might be it I could see that Blessing really quick before we on the show while I was sick and I was at home. When I'm sick, I usually don't like to play games or do anything.
1:04:53I just lay down and just try to get off the screen, right? But I finally, as I started making the turn to 97%, you know, better, I started playing Warcraft 3, my comfort game. I just wanted to send a call out to the audience out there. If you are good at Warcraft 3 or if you like RTS games, please get with me because I would love to play more Warcraft 3. Played it for like five days straight, bless. Yeah. Wow. And the crazy part about that is very old game, reforged, really kind of split the community. People weren't really pleased with the remake, jumping onto something new, you know what I mean?
1:05:27And here's the issue. Every time I queue up for the game, it's either the same eight names that I know, or it's like a couple sprinkled in new names. And the moment we jump in, either one team will immediately quit out, and then we have to quit out and rematch make, or like one out of 10 games will finally get a good game.
1:05:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:so if you like warcraft 3 come play with me yeah hit up mike that game we're gonna hit you up blue sky twitter instagram just find me just find him just find him and play some warcraft with mike of course this has been kind of funny games daily each and every week that we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about live on youtube twitch and on podcast services around the globe if you love what we do support us with the kind of funny membership on patreon or youtube to get all of our shows ad free watch record them live and get a daily exclusive show enjoy the games cast next where me and Tim are going to chat about what's going on with the Street Fighter movie and then kind of funny podcast after that and then the stream after that but until next time Game Daily This episode is brought to you by ChatGPT Hey, it's Bill Simmons from the Bill Simmons Podcast.
