8:08Number one on the Roper Report is a lengthy one, but you got nowhere to be. Sony's Bluepoint pitched Bloodborne remake before closure. This is the one, the only Jason Schreier, the Schreier guy at Bloomberg. Last week, Sony announced the closure of Bluepoint Games, an Austin-based subsidiary behind acclaimed remakes like Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. Around 70 people will lose their jobs, although Sony is giving them opportunities to apply for positions at other studios within the organization. The decision came just five years after Sony purchased Bluepoint, a period during which the studio failed to release a game of its own.
8:47How did Sony executive Herman Hulse go from writing in 2021 that Bluepoint's, quote, vast expertise in world building and character creation will be a huge plus for future PlayStation Studios properties to shutting down the studio? The answer is a little complicated. Parentheses, Sony declined to comment beyond the statement it sent last week. following the purchase blue point continued its work helping sony's santa monica studio with the development of god of war ragnarok which released in 2022 after that the newly acquired playstation studio had ambitions to make its own game rather than co-developing or remaking games made by other companies at the time sony was all in on live service games games designed for continual monetization after launch one of those games would be blue point's first original title under PlayStation, a live service game in the God of War franchise, which the organization hoped could support several sequels and spinoffs, like its own smaller version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
9:46Bluepoint began working on a game in which the character Atreus would fall into Hades, according to people familiar with the project. A loose idea was for players to control different versions or aspects of Atreus as they battled through Greek hell and to have some sort of cooperative gameplay and ongoing support, although much of the game's design was in flux. It was an awkward fit for the studio, which hadn't released an original game since 2006 and had never tried to develop a live service game. Bluepoint was a small team that mostly had expertise in art and engineering, not design. Developing a game that hooks players for the long haul is a challenge that even the most experienced studios have struggled to conquer.
10:26Some Bluepoint staffers grumbled that they should be working on another traditional action game like Demon's Souls or God of War Ragnarok rather than a live service project that few of them seem to want to make. Even with the help from Sony Santa Monica, Bluepoint struggled to make much progress and spent several years floundering. In January 2025, Sony canceled the God of War live service game. When we broke the news, a company spokesperson told me that Sony was quote-unquote working closely with Bluepoint to determine its next project. There was one idea, Mike. That seemed perfect. Bloodborne, a gothic action game released in 2015 for PlayStation 4.
11:05Developed by From Software, Bloodborne is widely considered to be one of the greatest games ever made, but its original release suffered from frame rate drops and other technical issues, making it the natural fit for the Bluepoint treatment. Fans had dreamed of a Bloodborne remake for years, and the idea had been strongly considered at one point, and at one point was even expected within Bluepoint, but never entered production. in early 2025 when blue point again pitched the idea of bloodborne remake the studio was told that the numbers made sense but from software didn't want it to happen according to people familiar with the process here's where it gets really spicy oh former playstation executive shuhe yoshida shared a theory last year that this might be the case saying in an interview with kind of funny games that he thought from software president uh and i always get this one miyazaki was interested in making the classic game but too busy to do it himself and quote unquote doesn't want anyone else to touch it he added that he thought playstation would respect his wishes despite owning the franchise faced with the rejection of the remake that made the most sense blue point had to whip something else up the studio spent some time pitching an updated version of shadow the colossus uh the classic playstation 2 game that blue point had previously remade in 2018 for PlayStation 4, but Sony turned it down.
12:23Still burning to make an original game, Bluepoint pitched other PlayStation Studios on developing new projects and other franchises, such as a spinoff for Ghost of Tsushima, but nothing was greenlit. Some of the other studios, which have already been facing heavy financial pressure in recent years, were concerned about dedicating significant resources to another team's project, according to people familiar with their thinking. By February of this year, Bluepoint had gone more than a year without securing a new project. On February 12th, when Sony announced plans to remake the original God of War trilogy without Bluepoint's involvement, some employees at the studio began to grow and easy.
12:59Exactly one week later, they got news that Bluepoint was shutting down. Behind the scenes, Sony no longer thought Bluepoint was equipped to make its own game and couldn't find a partnership that made sense according to people familiar with the company's thinking. It's a tragic end for a game studio that was acclaimed for its technical and artistic proficiency. Bluepoint's 2020 remake of Demon Souls which scored a stellar 92 on the review aggregator site Metacritic was a launch title for PlayStation 5 selling 1.4 million copies in its first year and helping move Sony's new console in recent days as Bluepoint's former staffers hunted for jobs and tried to figure out what was next other companies were making phone calls to see if there might be a way to salvage the studio elsewhere according to people familiar the prospect may be unlikely but Bluepoint's technical expertise remains respected across the industry.
13:50Michael, I talked a very long time there. Yes, you did, Greg. But again, the headline that we almost got, Bloodborne Remake, interesting, going through the nuts and bolts of what happened here, heartbreaking and possibly, you know, definitely the bigger story. Yeah, I mean, very heartbreaking. It looks like they were going to, you know, throw that Hail Mary and was just hoping for somebody to catch it. And unfortunately, it seems like Miyazaki and From Software don't want to do that. And it's an odd one. It's an interesting conversation to be had, right? This is one of the most requested PlayStation games to be brought back into the modern day, right?
14:24They want this game so bad. You had a team that was really dedicated and dialed in on remaking games like this. Demon souls in particular already worked with that team. Why bloodborne? Why was it so special? And then to hear the news that it does seem like Miyazaki and the team probably don't want somebody else remaking that game. Of course, the reasoning here is you don't want to kill the golden goose. Okay, Bloodborne, of course, the game PlayStation owns, an IP PlayStation owns, and would like to do more with. But from software, it's still the top of the game. And so is it really worth going against their wishes?
14:57The studio that is led by Miyazaki, right, that has this cred, that has this fandom, you piss him off, and it's like, cool, I will then sign the next one exclusively with Xbox, Epic Game Store, whatever. And whether, you know, not Bloodborne, but the next Souls game, right? Of course. And I don't think that's what PlayStation wants to get into. They don't want to get in the way of that, especially right now, as we see Xbox on the decline, the run, the rebuilding years of this franchise, like PlayStation's got a great thing going. So don't fuck it up when you have one of the auteurs of the video game industry.
15:26I love that, Greg. And I totally agree with that. I guess the interesting conversation to go deeper on is like, why not? Right. Why does Miyazaki not want this to be remade at this time? Why not help out? I think probably because he wants to do it. well my take on it is like he's made his thing and that's his thing and he loves that project so much from software loves that so much they don't want to turn it over to somebody else and have them do it i mean why not work closely with blue point then right if you don't if you want your team to only do it you have such a talented team yeah with blue point while you're also currently making what will probably be the next elden ring dark souls s game what is uh dusk bloods why not have a third game going on with a really dedicated team we've seen todd howard work with machine games on making Indiana Jones.
16:11Yeah. It's interesting. He doesn't want to work closely with another talented team like that. I think you kind of fall into a little bit of what we read through here. Not the financial woes of it necessarily, but like, Hey, can we do a ghost of Sushima spinoff? And they're like, well, no, like we have to do our own thing. We don't want to have the brain drain of worrying about your project and your lore and your whatever. And of course, I think that's really what it comes down to. We're all hands on deck. Like you're talking about, like there already is another exclusive coming from from soft that isn't going to PlayStation.
16:37they're working on that they are obviously working on whatever's next for their big souls titles yeah i mean a massive miss unfortunately for playstation blue point in particular now that whole studio getting laid off right there and it really probably was hinting a lot i'm like can we get this blood born project going right it seems like they pitched it early then they went on the live service track and then had the one more hail mary it was like that kind of was the game that it seems like that studio was waiting for it odd there was no other projects we couldn't go back to a an uncharted one and remake that, right?
17:07Of course he could have. This is poor management by PlayStation. Why do you hire the guys who make chocolate cakes and then task them with making a strawberry Twinkie? What are we fucking talking about? Why would you do this? It's like buying us and be like, all right, cool, don't make videos anymore, right? Like, what are you talking about? My kids see the keyboard. He had fucking coffee all over his keyboard. What are you talking about? No, no. It's unfortunate. And yeah, that is highly mismanaged, Greg. and that will be a story that will be go down for a long time. Bloodborne then trapped on the PS4.
17:39Yeah. With everything that all the baggage it has good and bad. When do you think you see a Bloodborne remake from Miyazaki then? From FromSoft. I mean, here's the other thing too. What about just a Bloodborne two? I think that would also be part of the reasoning here, right? Of like, hey, I don't want you to remake Bloodborne because eventually I want to bend you over that goddamn barrel PlayStation and get my goddamn paycheck for making you a Bloodborne two. I think that's another he wants the audience starving for it and that sounds very capitalistic but I do think for whatever they made Bloodborne 4 I'm sure they can get a lot more now and as they continue to rock the fucking world with Souls likes I think they're going to be, or Souls games in general not likes you're making, you know what I mean that you'd be able to get out there and crush it Kebab says did Miyazaki know his choice would kill Bluepoint no, I doubt that and even still I don't think this sounds very callous, that's not his problem to worry about.
18:33That's Bluepoint and PlayStation's problem. This industry, no. No. You got to do what's best for it. I think you're back to, you got to do what's best for your company. Of course. Like right now, kind of funny, right? If somebody was like, hey, we want to go do the kind of funny podcast without you guys, but having, well, no, that's one of our seven most successful shows. I can't let you have that. I'm sorry. You don't understand the bad analogy. It's back to the hot mulligans, but you don't understand what I'm saying. You got to look out for your team and your people and go that way with it. so as of right now we know you have dustbloods you probably have something else in the works then we wait yeah okay until you see this a lot of great games back to it though just again the mismanagement of playstation bringing them in you're gonna make a live service game bringing them in and not explaining to them you're only making remakes yeah we've never seen you guys make an original game we don't want to take that shot that's not what you are here to do uncharted and medieval and what you know i mean all these fucking go you're making a new you're redoing every game, every class, go get PlayStation all-stars battle Royale.
19:31Who do you want to make something? Who do you want to make a new Apiscape? Go for it. Unfortunately, the timing and the thought process was everything has to be live service. The single player games aren't making us enough money. Let's figure that out. How'd that work out, Jim Ryan? Bring up the list of many studios that have been closed or laid off on that. Dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. Scarlet Super Chazin says, it's frustrating to me that some people act like Bluepoint is entitled to Bloodborne as an IP. From software owes them nothing. Sony is entirely at fault for this. A loaded of emotion thing there.
20:02Yes. I don't know if it's that they're entitled to it. It's what they do best. And as an audience that wants to see that game remade, you'd want to go to the best studio, which now no longer exists, because as you say, this isn't PlayStation's fault. This is Sony's fault. I mean, it's a top three PlayStation franchise there that you would want brought back into the modern era. You buy the team that makes the best remakes in the game. Yeah. That's going to be one of the most highly requested games on the, on the list. Yep. Inside and outside the studio. I'm sure a hundred percent. Michael, would you have been at all interested in a trace going to hell?
20:35Uh, no, no, not at all. Ask a question, get an answer. Okay. We're going to talk about the next story here. And I don't know how I feel about this next one. Number two on the rope report, Sony Santa Monica studio is quote, working on a new franchise within the God of war universe. This is Andy Robinson at VGC. Barrett out there shooting a shot because he said this on the PSI. Oh, no. The Gamescast that was like a PSI Love You where you reviewed God of War. What we wanted from God of War. You were right here. I pulled the Jason Stryer code. If it's not a new IP, it's just going to be made to feel like a new IP.
21:12That shot my shot. It's still going to be in the God of War universe just with a different character. I guess the wrong character, but I was 90%. Oh, nice. We move into Andy Robinson's reporting at VGC.news. Get it out. Sony Santa Monica Studio is working on a new franchise within the God of War universe, according to LinkedIn profile of a former writer. As spotted by Reset Era, the writer claims they spent five years up to last September helping, quote, shape narrative vision and creative direction at Sony Santa Monica Studio for a new franchise within the God of War universe, developing characters, storylines, and original lore that expanded the acclaimed IP, end quote.
21:51The post matches with claims made by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, the Schreier guy, who wrote in a recent story that PlayStation at one point intended to, quote, support several God of War sequels and spinoffs like its own smaller version of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, end quote. We just read that. We love that. Synergy. Sony Santa Monica Studios. Let's try again there. Sony Santa Monica Studios. Last major project was 2022's God of War Ragnarok. Sony Santa Monica creative director Corey Barlog who helmed 2018's God of War but stepped aside for the sequel is understood to be working on an unannounced project notably last month god of war actor christopher judge claimed that his next game would be announced this summer fueling speculation that it could be sony santa monica studios next big title santa monica is currently celebrating god of war's 20th anniversary via various initiatives most notably a brand new 2d game that was shadow dropped last month during its state of play announcement during the same live stream the developer also revealed that a God of War trilogy remake is in early development.
22:54Quote, we ask for your patience as it will be a while before anything else can be shared. It said, quote, when we can come back with an update, we aim to make it a big one. End quote. Let's talk about it, Greg. Let's talk about it. So, interesting. I wanted to shout out Christopher Judge. Of course, we talked about it on Kind of Funny Games Daily. Of course, we did. A couple weeks ago, was at a Comic-Con, was talking to a guest camera angle a little bit away from this so maybe he didn't know but he did talk about i'm gonna be in the next one and they talked about new action style yeah so that was pretty cool that like we had that conversation and possibly this summer do you believe it you think it's this summer i think this summer i think we're celebrating a big mark in the god of war franchise i believe it's a large anniversary 20 yeah yeah and so you had sons of sparta already you know god of war trilogy that's a ways away for sure i think this is a big hit this summer especially for the playstation lineup to be like, hey, another God of War here.
23:49Could be end of the year, could be next year, but that goes well with the flow of where we're at right now. Do you get excited for a spinoff? I mean, it's a new IP within the God of War franchise. I mean, yeah, of course. The God of War franchise has built up a really cool mythos of a lot of awesome characters that I would like to get to know and see more of. It depends on what the character is. We did get some leaks and some talk about that, some rumors of that. Give them to me. I don't know what this is. Faye. It was Faye? Yeah, it would be Faye the Giant. That's Kratos' second wife. I'm just trying to give you...
24:23No, no. Deborah Ann Wilson? She's from Daredevil. She's in Daredevil. True blood. And so, yeah, you'd have that character with a new action style. What is that action system, right? Because is it God of War 2018 with just maybe less puzzles and that kind of action? Is it more of an old school God of War? A lot more action at the forefront. Is it a Souls-like action? What does that really mean? that excites you that character it doesn't not excite me when you jump in with that rumor and then I want to see the gameplay what are we doing with her she's a fantastic actress they made not a big deal but it was big news when she joined the game so I was expecting a lot more flashbacks of what we got in Ragnarok of her and then we didn't get that many still got the fucking banger line about grief but I mean like I would have expected more I think it's a great that would make sense to implant her there to then go off and give your own thing.
25:18Sky super chat and says, Fae Game should be her fighting her way out of hell or Valhalla after her death. Sprinkle in some prequel shit for good measure. Barret, how are you feeling about this? Initially, the character kind of left like, what story do we have to tell with this character? But also I give the trust in if this is the project that Corey is working on to sell us on that and if the plan is, reveal it this year and it comes out next year, I am willing to give myself up and to see what that vision is because they're a great team. They know what they're doing. So, yeah, I'm also interested of like how accurate that part of the leak is.
26:00As we knew for or as we heard for a year, right, that this Metroidvania 2D God of War game was going to be you playing as a Traeus, which was not the case. And so I do wonder like if there also is like some mixed, like, you know, a game of telephone there. Right. But we'll see. Uh, from the super chat. Yeah. Nova Phoenix says stellar Faye. Count me in, bring Debra back. You have to have Debra back. Okay. If you don't have Debra, what's the point? You know, what's the point? Daredevil. True blood. It's going to happen. Let's get her name. One more. I don't know her. IMDB. She's in two great things.
26:38What do I need? You know what I mean? You could have just pulled out Ragnarok. Then you would have made fun of me for that. You're always making fun of me. Loyal Freak says, as much as I love God of War, and I will always play them, I need Sony Santa Monica to make something besides God of War. We need a new IP from them. 20 years of nothing from them except this franchise is wild. Wow. How do you feel about that, Mr. Halo? Make more Halo. Here's the Halo studio. I am on the train of make more God of War, right? So I'm on the opposite side of that. I like the God of War franchise. I really like where it's gone, what it's reinvented, themselves with and so yeah i would like more and more kratos atreus more stories in this universe and even if it's a spinoff with another character i don't know that much about yeah more is better i'm all about it what about you well i go two different ways with it right where i personally would love to see something new okay but i also understand the business and we see every day in this fucking show what happens when you stray from god in an established IP, right?
27:37If you aren't going to fucking double down and again, PlayStation wants to make money your studio then is on the chopping block if you don't fucking put out a hit. So it's like when we were talking about all man, Corey Barlog's next game is going to be a sci-fi, whatever the thing I was like, well, that sounds really cool and exciting. I'm not not excited for this, but I feel like to some degree, all right, known quantity. It's going to be a God of War game, but it's not going to be creative. I kind of still get what I'm getting and how it's going to go. I feel I'm sure I'll prove you wrong. I will be excited about it.
28:05I will play it. I will probably love it. Yeah, but I would be I would always like to see people stretch. I love that we went from Uncharted to Last of Us now to Intergalactic. How much longer do you go with God of War before you're like, hey, it is really time for something new. Are you at that point right this moment? Me personally or the world? The world as well. I mean, me personally, I feel like they've made just two bangers back to back. And so I don't want them to keep trying to double down. I don't know. That's not even true. If you got something to say, go make your game. Period. end statement.
28:35I just am always more excited for a new thing, I feel like, than, hey, we're going back to the well on this. Of course. It's very tough. Like you said, in today's age, it's very tough to go out, make a new IP that no one knows about when there's characters and stories that they love and they really double down on. We've seen the push for live service games, single player games. They need to hit. We've seen that, right, with the balloon and cost, how long it takes. It's got to hit. So if it does come out into something new, fresh, and it doesn't hit, then you've got a major problem on your hands.

29:04we have one you're wrong nerd well says God of War came out in March 2005 the 20th anniversary is last year sons of Sparta was the last part of the 20th celebration I hear you nerd well I assure you if they announce a new God of War game this year they're going to be like it's 20 years ago they're going to still really drive that we are still celebrating 20 years of God of War we got some a lot of super chats CJ splits on says I hope the next game is a Loki Prince of Persia with the gameplay changes. Okay. You won't get that, but I understand that. It doesn't sound like that. It doesn't sound like it run that way at all.
29:40Volk Dasher says, so I'm sure game will be top tier as expected, but do we think Team Corey had a game quietly internally canceled, or are we saying he spent seven to eight years on a spinoff? Barrett, remind me, right? When he left and said, he didn't helm Ragnarok, he still helped guide the ship in pre-pro. Yeah, and I want to say he was still involved in some ways with writing and kind of being producer level. And then Eric was the director on it. But I think maybe his title was still like creative director or something like that. Yeah, I don't think he was free and clear to sit around and not do nothing from it.
30:24And from my understanding, I don't know if Sony Santa Monica had another big team secretly working on a game for a really long time while Eric and the team that we know was working on Ragnarok. I think it was early, early, pre-pre-pre-production, Corey thinking of early ideas of what this next thing was. And now that, you know, we see the team starting to, or we saw the team in 2021, 2022, start to close the door on Ragnarok leading into its release. Now that we're looking at a 2026 reveal into a 2027 release, to me, that actually adds up of like nothing, at least seemingly from the outside looking in, nothing dramatic like that happening, you know.
31:17Fair. jay dublin says you don't want god of war to have the magic the gathering issue where they release so many things that it devalues the brand in series i don't think they're at that point yet right we still have followed kratos all the way through like we haven't even gotten to the point where it is all of a sudden atreus let's not act like they didn't have two psp games and an ascension multiplayer game god of war i mean i know they're on a upswing with the new world of course and those are those are old yes i think old heads like you know that greg but like there's a lot of new people into the franchise that started with 2018, right?
31:49And that are rediscovering or learning about Kratos. That's why we're remaking that trilogy, right? And so I think you have some more time before you get to Magic the Gathering levels. It's like, maybe introduce more characters and make us play as those guys. Let me know if this sounds like Magic the Gathering levels. Delaney 20 Super Chat says, Tinfoil hat idea. What if Kratos has to go back to Greece and fight Zagreus from Hades? It could be a neat crossover opportunity and double up on IP. Like the actual, like not, the one from Supergiant? Like you want that version? Like that's the crossover?
32:20That'd be crazy. That'd be very crazy. That would be crazy. I don't think that would happen, but that'd be crazy. The fan art would be off the wall. Yeah. Start making that actually right now just for the funds of it. But I think Kratos' story is done and that's why we're making an old IP feel new. CJ Switzen says, what's the difference between this and what Remedy does? I don't think you're... I want to laugh you out of the room, but I won't because I understand where you're coming from. for me personally, it's just like, and this is what's so hard about talking about a game. We can't see. We were talking about, Oh, it's going to be his wife and it'll be got to work combat.
32:56And so it's just, okay. So now she's female Kratos. Cause like, I would argue there, of course that like, well, in Alan wake, I walk around and write it in fucking control. I fly and shoot people and fucking throw things with telekinesis. Like they feel very different, even though they are in the same world. But I also love a modern sci-fi timeline more than I do. God of War. Let's go back to the olden times. I live in a hut. I got a stone wall. That's matches. You know what I mean? Just fucking kill me. You know what I mean? I was like, oh yeah, time travel. What would you do? I could blow my brains out.
33:26Or just hit myself in the head with a giant rock. You know what I mean? He's not going back. No fucking video game. I think about that all the time too. What if tomorrow you woke up and you're in college again? Like, oh my god, I'd be so fucking bored. You know what I mean? Where do you play all these games? I gotta play these games. You're like, oh man. Save system fucking sucks. graphics are terrible. I was like, this is cutting edge. I'm like, you don't even know, man. 26 years ago. Then again. And then of course the age old question. Yeah. Do you warn them about September 11th? You make the call and you can't cause then you go to jail.
33:57You go to jail as a terrorist. Nobody's going to believe you. And then it's the other problem. They'd be like, all right, cool. Prove something else that you're from the future. And I'm like, you don't understand. I got a bad memory. You wouldn't go Bitcoin. I mean, you have to wait a long time. You know what If I go back in time and it's before the iPhone, put it all on Apple. Apple. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. Mom and dad, don't send me to college. Give me all that money. You don't even make the phone call. You just put it all on Apple. Again, what do you want me to do? Who do I call to convince people that this is happening and I didn't do it?
34:29You can't. No. And again, then they go, okay, who's going to win the Super Bowl this year? I'm like, I don't fucking remember. I don't know. Is this the year where the Rams lost and all my friends were disappointed? I can't remember. I think it was on the one where Tom Brady brought him back against Atlanta. That's the one you remember. I don't remember that one. You remember that one. That's your one. I'm helping you. You're not helping me because I only remember the bad stuff. Oh, they're going to send Tom Brokaw anthrax. I go to jail again. You know what I mean? I don't even know if Tom Brokaw.
34:58I might be sending the wrong person.
35:02And then I get a pop-up here. Roger Piccone on Instagram commented, Greg sucks. So that's great. That's how my fucking Rod. Taking him to a basketball game today. It'll be fun. Because Andy's a loser. Andy. He breaks my heart. I agree. I'm 28 % mad at him. You could have brought Ben. You could have been cool. Uncle Mike can take it, Ben. Can we talk about somebody that's coming for Ben's spot really quick? Can I steal this show for just a moment? No, you can't talk about another child that's coming to steal. I need you to know, Greg, that my life for the past month has been about this baby that is just dropping bombs and throwing nothing but gas and heat in his basement with his father.
35:38This kid is going places. What the fuck are you talking about? Barrett, please bring up the baseball baby. How did we have this set up? Look at this baseball baby right now. Look at the form. Rip through. Really good form. That's a really good form. They have been tracking this kid for the past year and a half now with his father, and they are constantly in the basement just working and perfecting on this three-year-old's game. Has anybody signed him yet? You know what? Somebody's going to make the call. Because in baseball, you can do crazy things like that. You can sign him way early. Middle schoolers are being signed.
36:07It's insane. I feel like this is it right here. This is the only thing I can think about for the past month. It's this baby. Just working on drills. Guy's got seven balls that are all different colors. Throws it up. He yells, orange kid knocks it out the park. He gets a hold of the baseball, whips it. It's going 60 miles an hour. Okay. Okay. I see where your allegiances are. Yeah. We got to help this baby out. What if I took that and I raised it and I show you, look at there. Ben out there playing tennis with us. We bought the racket. We bought the balls. This kid's ready to go. Look at him. Look at it.
36:37Bam. That's what I'm talking about. That's over the net. That's follow through. tennis is a sport that I can get behind. Tennis is a sport we can double down on. All right, good. I didn't know you were bringing me out here today. I know. Don't forget to talk to the microphone. I know you're rusty.
41:32I know you're rusty. You know what I mean? I was going to get you the stick. Here we are talking into the microphone. We're going to do the, got to do the Miller. You lean back. They're popping. and they're popping for a chair. Where the hell have you been? We haven't seen you on the show in a long time. Well, I'm up in Canada now. I live in Prince Edward, Highland. Bastard, you son of a bitch. And I'm not just in Canada. I'm in fairly remote Canada. It's kind of great. PEI is this wonderful, beautiful Atlantic province. It's small. People are super kind. Angie and I are having a wonderful time up there.
41:58She's working at the university. I'm making indie games now. Where are you working? I'm in Other Ocean. They make Project Winter and Scrap Daddies and maybe something soon to be announced, maybe? Oh, that's interesting. But yeah, I'm there. Life is good, Greg. It's been really wonderful. We've been up there about a little over half a year. But despite that, I'm really never happier when I'm in one of these chairs with y 'all at the best job I ever had. Thank you very much, Jared. Thank you very much. Let's dust it off. You get to stay for story number three, all right? Otherwise, this episode will go to 1.30 in the afternoon.
42:35I don't know what you're talking about. Nintendo announces Indie World Showcase for tomorrow. Expect news on games coming to Switch and Switch 2. This is the one, the only, W-Y-P at IGN.com. Nintendo has announced a new Indie World Showcase set to take place tomorrow, March 3rd. The showcase kicks off at 6 a.m. Pacific and will provide 15 minutes of news and updates on indie games coming to Switch 2 and Switch. This is not a Nintendo Direct, so don't expect any news on upcoming Nintendo games. parentheses hopefully that 3d mario announcement isn't too far away so what can what can fans expect at the august 2025 nintendo indie world showcase which did not offer a hollow night silksong release date we got a demo announcement for yacht club games is mina the hollower new looks at well dweller uh content warning on consoles a glacier hurtling ball cross pit and never way nintendo held a partner showcase last month and highlights of course included a switch to upgrade for hollow night, a release date, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
43:33Indie world is coming tomorrow. Michael, I haven't talked to you about this. Barrett. I haven't talked to you about this. We're doing it. Schedule change. I flipped the flop. All right. Games cast moves to the games daily spot. Games daily moves to games cast spot. Love that. Me, Mike and Roger will live react. Barrett. Hold on. Take your smelling salts, Matt. What? Barrett's getting lost another dimension. Oh, we will be live reacting to it on a delay. So when we wake up, we will not look at the Indie world showcase. We will instead live react for 15 minutes with you to do a games cast following up on that, talking about what we've been playing on top of that, having a great time out there.
44:06Freaking rad. Jared, what do you expect from tomorrow's indie world? I have few predictions except that Nintendo will come forward with innovative and exciting new video games to play on their platforms. Things that we love and enjoy. We still don't have mean of the hollowers release date. Yes. Right. So that's gotta be there. That's gotta be it. Right, Mike just had a big demo. You would think it's going to be there. Yeah. You'd think that would be like probably the big jewel of them all for sure. I agree. I love that right now, despite a truly challenging time for the industry, probably the most challenging time in the 21st century.
44:42Fair. Even now, people are scraping and clawing and digging to make little games that their hearts want to exist in the world. I don't know if there's ever been a more passionate moment for games. It is harder than ever for indie devs. I'm in that now, and I'm really getting a feel for it. And yet, what I see from the people around me, Canada's a great place for indie development. Free health insurance helps. It helps. Government subsidizing help. Government subsidies help. We have that. And so watching what people are doing, looking at a space where things are contracting, saying, I am not going to allow my creativity to die here.
45:18I'm going to give up what I can and make something happen. That's why I love Nintendo's special focus on indie stuff that they really haven't let go of now. Yeah, it's nice that they still do that. It's consistent. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, PlayStation used to make a bigger deal of this stuff, for example. You see the last of that now. Yeah. Xbox used to make a bigger deal, but for some reason, Nintendo has stuck with it. I love that. So I'm jumping into my Steam wishlist, and I'm looking down at games that just have 2026 dates here and trying to figure out who could fit in where. All right, because that's where you got to be looking.
45:4615 minutes, you can get a lot in there. You can do a whole bunch of stuff. Now, of course, when I'm looking at my Steam wishlist, I don't know what's jumping, but that could be the whole thing. not early access you don't want that I see tears of metal here highly anticipated one for me the developers of blood roots remember that anybody no okay yeah you remember tears of metal too this have you seen that can you throw up a trailer Baron I know I'm talking while I go I think that would be an awesome one because that just says 2026 yes blighted is on here as well for me that on my wish list that of course blighted It's Guacamelee devs.
46:21I know them so well. Drinkbox. Drinkbox. They're on there. Oh, man. Mixtape? We have a release date now for Mixtape, don't we? I don't know. Yeah. Pretty sure we do. My Steam wish list doesn't have it updated. I can see that maybe you bring that over to Switch. I don't know if that's announced. Tome 2 would make a lot of sense. Yeah. That's obviously a good fit there. Forgive my ignorance because I didn't prep before coming. Oh, I threw you. Yeah, no, I just grabbed you. I had no idea what's coming on. Don't worry about that. Where are we on Bolex Pit? because that seems like the Switch 2-est game in the history of the world.
46:52Did that not come to Switch 2? I don't know if it did or not. That's what I'm wondering. I played it on PC. I mean, they just talked about it on the thing where it was like that was in last year's, right? I can't remember. Yeah, no, it did. It did. Sorry for being ignorant, everyone. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I've been out of the game for so long. No, it's there. Yeah, and I gave the free upgrade. I should do that. I thought you said it earlier. That's why I got it. I did say it early in terms of that was at the direct thing last time. Thank you very much. Sorry about that. Real quick, sorry.
47:20Vash NL says, you pronounce it ball pit. The X is silent. Fuck that. Yeah. Real quick, Game Desk. If you don't want us to say a letter or a word in there, don't put it in the fucking title. Because if you put it in the fucking title, I'm going to say it. Sometimes I'll say X. Sometimes I'll say cross. Will I ever not say it? No, I won't. Yeah, you say cross when you're standing in Japan. You say X when you're standing here. Yeah. That's how you do it. And then for some games, you say it as times for some reason. Oh, times. That's true. You can do that too. Multiplied by. Yep. I do wonder if we get a not as exciting but a reminder of like hey mouse P.I.
47:51Fryer that's coming out in April. Is that coming to Switch? I think so. Switch's got everything now. Man. I'm doing them over here. Somebody's making Crossfire. See I don't see mouse on my Nintendo search here on the store. Now is the Nintendo store the best? No. But I don't see it. Yeah. So can the Switch 2 run it? Maybe that is the announcement though that it's coming there. That'd be great. That'd be great. absolutely marvelous. Well, we'll be, like I said, on a delay, live reacting to it tomorrow, 15 minutes before the games cast. It'll be at the usual times of games daily. Then games daily will be after it.
48:25We'll all have a lot of fun. Okay. Yeah. Barrett before I'm Barrett, Jesus, I can be Barrett. I thought, I know what happened. here's what happened before we switch off stakes says Barrett Delta root for tomorrow.
48:41I could see it, but it's, I don't know. they've been weird about like just them randomly dropping the those episode toby fox has said chapter five will come this year so it's a possibility but i wouldn't bet on it okay and whoever the annoying guy in the chat was it wasn't a review anyway um
49:02fuck you hey that's a good response i like that uh before we get to jared questions any direct question or comments dexter says prediction mean of the hollower release date for April 17th. As for Greg, the Mario announcement is in September's direct. Galaxy 3. Hi, Uncle Jared. Aw. Aw. Okay. Thank you. Everybody put that in there. Now, Jared, are you ready for a lightning round before we get back to the game? I wasn't even ready for the regular round. This is easy. I just made a fool of myself. Samson XP says, Canada's own Jared Petty. Much love from Vancouver. Oh, thank you very much for the love from Vancouver.
49:32All the way across. Kebab says, Super Chat for Jared Petty. Love, we love you. Oh, thank you. Thank you, Kebabs. I appreciate it. Big Kerr says, Doki Doki, Jared Love, wishing you the best. Doki Doki, right back at you. Delaney 20 says, Jared, Doki Doki, welcome back. How's the seafood in PEI? Are the mussels really as good as everyone says? Yeah, they are. The shellfish are unreal. The mussels are great. The oysters are even better. The gin made with the oysters is one of the best things on earth. Mike wouldn't do it. He put the napkin on it. Yeah, you would mix that in a martini. It's incredible.
50:04Lobster rolls, fish and chips, but the best food in PEI. Shout out to Cloduck. The surf and turf there, which is not lobster and steak, but a bed of Colcannon covered in like. Which is what? Colcannon is mashed potatoes, cream, butter. It's got some cabbage in it. This one has some beets in it. And then on top of that, huge grilled scallops and pork belly with some apricot jelly, I think, on it. Come on, everybody. Uncle Death says, following Jared's journey to Canada has revitalized my long lost pride and love for being Canadian. So glad you felt welcomed. Love from NB. Oh, thank you. The country's been extraordinarily welcoming to Angie and I and that community especially.
50:48We've fallen in love with Charlottetown. It's a great place. Live chat. Justin says PEI KF meetup when? Oh, okay. I don't know when you're coming. No, no, you can represent us. You can represent us. Okay, I'm representing you? You don't want me representing you? I'm used to it. Oh my god. You know, you were talking earlier, you almost call me Barrett. I am kind of what would happen if Barrett let himself go. No. If Barrett was just like one day like, you know. You look really good for the record, by the way. I didn't say it earlier. I actually feel pudgy right now. But I mean, there's color in your face.
51:17Thanks. That's the biggest thing I think I've been missing for a long time out there with you. Oh, thank you very much. I'm feeling much better. Yeah, I'm getting over it. I gained some weight when I got, you know, my old man died a couple of months ago. But I'm getting it back down. Good. Pluto says, shout out to PEI. I used to go every summer. Justin says, how do you potato your potatoes? How do I? Okay, so honestly, I think the best potatoes on PEI, and there's all kinds of great ones. There's like a simple grilled breakfast potato, almost like a Greek style potato. Okay. A little rosemary, a little thyme, a little salt, nothing else.
51:46And then a nice crisp, not burn, but nice crisp fry on the outside, but the inside is still soft. Like that's my way. What about you? My favorite potato? Yeah. I wasn't prepared. I wasn't prepared for the indie thing. You know, man, I do love a good mashed potatoes. Yeah, how do you go wrong with that? We went to House of Prime Rib, me, Mike, Tim Schafer, Andy the other day. Yeah. And I didn't realize that you could. Tim Schafer was very big on the secret menu, some of which I knew, some of which I didn't. But I didn't realize you could order the mashed potatoes and then get them fully loaded, which means they take all the baked potato stuff, the giant thing of bacon, the giant thing of sour cream, the other chives, and then put them on top of your mashed potatoes.
52:26And I mixed that shit up. That was amazing. Okay, that's fucking incredible. I think about like, so the first time I met Tim Schafer was so embarrassing because never meet your heroes. Sure. I'm walking into the Alamo to watch Independence Day 2. Wow. Okay. And he's walking out of the Alamo from watching Independence Day 2. And two things happen. One, I'm like, oh, my God, Tim Schafer now knows that I'm going to see Independence Day 2. Sure. I'm so embarrassed. Yeah. But also, oh, my God, Tim Schafer just watched Independence Day 2. I'm so disappointed. It was a hard day. I'm sorry about that.
52:56Sorry about that. What about you and Potatoes, Mike? You know what? I'm looking at potatoes over here. You're looking at potatoes? Sweet and smoky potato pie. I'd like to try that. Okay, that's nice. Now that looks good. I'd like to try it, but what is your favorite? That was the question. Sweet and smoky potato pie. But you've never had it. I can already tell it's my favorite. It's wrapped in bacon. It looks like a pizza pie. I'm in on it. I would bet you would take one bite and be like, I don't like that. Send me the link. I want to listen to it. Please give your brain to the Smithsonian when you die.
53:27Please. we gotta find out final one before we get you out of here Jared the Portland Kevin says Jared your top 100 games podcast inspired me to start my own book club like podcast the Playstation Plus Game Club Playstation Plus Game Club thank you for being awesome thank you for being kind and top 100 will continue in a couple weeks now like I said when dad died I paused again for a bit and I didn't even make an announcement but I think he'd be like do what the fuck you want man but I enjoy it and I'll be back do it again. Jared Petty, everybody here in State, we love you. Alright, love you. Get out of here.
54:01Mike, let's land this goddamned plane. Number four, I got a Resident Evil rock block for you, okay? Resident Evil Requiem has been criticized for immersion breaking gore censorship in Japan. This is Verity Townsend over at IGN. Resident Evil Requiem released last Friday while players are slicing up zombies as Leon S. Kennedy and creeping around as Grace Ashcroft players of the Japanese version have noticed something amiss, namely Requiem's censorship of gore in its home country is being criticized as being immersion breaking and uncreative compared to past games in the series. How's that sit with you?
54:35I mean, that's yeah, it's unfortunate, but like uncreative. I like, right. It's like, if you knew that you were going to censor it and like, it's been done before, let's try to find a good workaround for it. Let's not just put up a giant sensor bar or blur the image. Like let's get creative with it. You've done it before. Let's, let's knock this out. Many players of the Japanese version have since voiced their dissatisfaction with the censorship in the final release. I'm skipping obviously ahead. As one player of the Japanese version pointed out in a not safe for work Reddit post, Capcom started to show cutting off limbs in Resident Evil 4, implementing a workaround where gore and entrails would be blacked out.
55:10With Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has also opted for blacking out the gore. However, this has extended to covering the whole of missing areas of the body in black to the point where it's really noticeable. For example, in one puzzle in Requiem, you have to find an artificial heart and lungs and place them inside a dead body in order to get the MacGuffin. In the Japanese version, the entire upper body and the heart and lungs themselves are completely black. As the Redditor noted, this censorship is way more noticeable IMO to the point where it really kills the immersion. Although many long-time fans have come to expect Japanese domestic releases of Resident Evil games to be censored, many opined that Resident Evil Requiem's censorship was excessive and distracting to the previous entries.
55:54Thank God we live here in America where you can't show a titty, but you can show all the violence and fucking blood and gore you want. Damn. It's crazy when you say it like that. When you think about it, that's crazy. Let me see a cock. You know, what's the big deal? Go full frontal. Resident Evil Requiem is blowing up on Steam. This is Levi Winslow over at GameSpot. Just one day after launch, Resident Evil Requiem has already surpassed the player counts of both RE4 Remake and RE Village on Steam, making the most popular entry in the series to date. As reported by Games Industry, Requiem's all-time peak on Steam was about 345 ,000 on February 28th, according to player tracker SteamDB, just one day after it arrived on everything else.
56:36Eurogamer noted the peak was double that of Resident Evil 4 Remake, which was just about 168 ,000, and triple that of Resident Evil Village, which was just about 107 ,000, making Requiem the biggest launch in the franchise's history. It goes on to say, of course, Requiem is available on other platforms. This, that, the other. Impressive numbers, Mike, for an amazing game you and I love. Game is amazing. And when a game is that good, it's going to get that many players on there. Awesome to see. And yeah, well-deserved. This game rocks. And then your final one right now, Res Evil Requiem currently has the highest user score of all time on Metacritic.
57:08This is Chris Scullion at VGC. Three days after its release, Res Evil Requiem has become the highest rated game of all time on Metacritic in terms of user score. the ninth entry in Capcom's survival horror series currently has the overall meta score the average score from critics of 88 with the per platform score fluctuating from 88 to 92 I cut the article too early I don't have the what was the fucking one I was in a hurry Jared was here I'm failing I'm failing I'm falling I'm dying I'm dying there just hold on back to VGC.news where you should However, the user score, the average score out of 10 submitted by Metacritic users currently stands at 9.5, making it the highest user score on the entire platform.
57:57That's dope. Crazy, but dope. We love this game. Okay. You think it should be the highest scored game ever on Metacritic? This game rocks, Greg. I agree. You and I are, of course, doing our spoiler stream. Spoiler stream this afternoon. This game rocks, Greg. This game is that good. Okay. And I'm not mad at it. If the users are vibing with it and they're enjoying it, I'm giving it a big hell. Yeah. I'm on board. I'm not trying to stop. I'm on board. I'm not trying to stop anybody. I'm just saying. Stop trying to stop people. I'm just talking. It's a surprising stat for a game. We love here. A game.
58:30We love spoiler stream. Me and Mike this afternoon talking about everything. We got to talk about it. Number five in the Rupp report. The just cause creator has a bleak take on the state of gaming. This is Eddie over a game spot. Christopher Sundberg, who is known for his hot takes, has made another bold statement about the state of gaming. In an interview, Sundberg said he is observing things in the games industry today that he hasn't seen in his 30-plus years of making games. Quote, I've been making games for over three decades, and I have never and never experienced such a desperate, cowardly, they'll call it risk-averse, and confused state of the business, Sundberg told WCCF Tech.
59:09After the acquisition slash over-investing party during 21 through 23, we are dealing with the hangover, and it's been going on for three years, end quote. Sundberg is referring to the video game boom from the pandemic and how it seemingly has not paid off the way investors imagined. Something Greg's going to jump in with. We talk about every goddamn day here, and that's why I wanted to throw it in there. Because he's just saying the same things we say, which makes me feel good when I see somebody who actually makes the games saying the same things we say. Mike? Yeah, Greg. The video game industry bouncing back.
59:43Funding games. Making great stuff again and making money so everybody's happy. Maybe just a little bit of profit. Maybe not a big profit. You know what I mean? A little bit of profit. You know what I mean? A big profit. You know, that's something back and forth. No layoffs. No layoffs. That would all be big news. Real big. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go? Greg, I'd take you to our last story, the We News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
1:00:10number six on the we news uh of course the pokemon pocopia reviews are up it has a review roundup metacritic of 89 if you haven't been listening we are reviewing this next on the gamescast myself joey and the big man from bgc.news jordan middler so that's why you can get a full review rundown we'll talk about it there and i'm very excited to finally open up ign says uh pokemon fire red and leaf green remakes at a swear filter, limiting your ability to name your rival something rude. Boo. Boo. I wanted to call him ass. VGC says, Nacon delays the game showcase after, I'm sorry. Nacon delays its game showcase after filing for insolvency.
1:00:51Quote, we are choosing to focus our resources. You know what? That seems about right. That seems like a good call. You know what? Maybe I would have, maybe when you announced the insolvency slash bankrupt, you would have said there as well. Yeah. Hey, that thing that was going to happen, we're not going to do that. Okay. because uh but you wait here it's fine vgc also has an article starfield on ps5 release date confirmed by reliable insider quote the report claimed that the playstation 5 version of star field is expected to get a physical release on april 7th we have heard april 7th kicked around for a few weeks now here we go another uh tiddly wink trying to push you a little bit over there okay trying to show you what's going on and then if you're in japan or on your way to japan i got good news for me from Dixtero.
1:01:34The Tokyo Metro turns the entire Tokyo Metro turns entire train purple for the Ditto Pokemon Pocopia. Oh, now that's fun. That's awesome. That's cute. Look at that. The hand holes are Dittos. I wouldn't want to touch it. Why aren't we doing that here? We got Caltran. We got Caltran. Sure, sure. Why can't we have that fun stuff? We got a cool train. We have a cool train. It's just you don't have a good return on investment there. What do you mean? You don't think San Francisco would go crazy for a Ditto-themed train? Maybe then go into the Nintendo store? Maybe reminding them that there's a new Pokemon game?
1:02:12Well, I'll tell you real quick. Remember, you can't change where the train goes. That is true. Trains can't. You can't deviate it to the Nintendo store. I'm just saying. It's like you just get them encouraged. You know what I mean? It's like, oh, man. And, Mike, we have, like, bigger problems when it comes to, you know, the bus system and train system in San Francisco. We got to solve these problems. Mayor Mike just wants us to have fun. I want a Ditto train. on every stop right now. I want the trolleys ditto themed. What about the Waymos? Mayor Mike's coming out. I'm going to fix all these problems.
1:02:39Mayor Mike just wants to have fun. That sounds weirdly similar to just our current mayor. Hey, what up? Let's go. San Francisco. I got a new EDM artist coming to town. Don't worry about nobody getting money. Teachers not getting paid. I got Diplo coming. He's the best. These are some deep San Francisco cuts about Daniel Lurie. But yeah, you're nailing it. You're nailing it. I'm going to have the largest boxing event ever inside the city of San Francisco. 120 ,000 people can show up. That is going to be lit, though. We got to go to that. That's it for we news. We jump into super chats that we missed.
1:03:19I'll start from the bottom and go to the top. Well, now I'm now I'm confused. Oh, because. this, the latest super chat, I'm not going to say the name, but I'll say the thing and then I'll come back to the name. Okay. Just pop it in and have Greg pronounce my gamer tag. And then he uses the LOL like emoji. My COD plays have been the funniest hearing people say my name, but also good morning, handsome fellas. I can't remember. I can't remember if we had a conversation about this before or if I said it wrong before and they're making fun of me for that. Okay. Cause I feel like I've had this, I've said this before and I'm pretty confident what I'm saying that Asian one that AZN one yeah that Asian one yeah did I say it weird before am I wrong we could go that Arizona one no you want to put the end on it I'm just trying to you know if that if that was that then it'd be that capital A capital Z one yeah then I'd be all that Arizona one yeah and then why are you hanging out with Ignacio Rojas at the certainly winch we ask him all the time what are they saying in COD that Asian one you need to super chat back in and tell me.
1:04:26You might say I'm going to chat for free. They're going to say a lot of things. The YouTube chat died out there and I only see the fan funded ones. So you have to pay again. I'm sorry. Zeke speak says been playing marathon all weekend and it's got the juice. Uh, it definitely isn't for everyone, but I think that part, that's part of what makes it interesting to play. Michael, did you jump in the marathon? Yeah, I jumped in the marathon for one night and I was a mixed bag of emotions. There was a feeling that I was interested in it. I really liked the gun play. I liked the world. I liked the aesthetic.
1:04:52I liked the creative design of it all, but there There was something about it where I just did not like the moment to moment gameplay. Gunfights were super fun and engaging, but they were few and far between. There was too many times where I found me and my crew were just in an empty play space with nothing going on besides AI bots that were like too overwhelming. So it is interesting of like a lot of people coming out of this beta weekend released right around the corner. What are the thoughts going to be? I'm a mixed bag. I'm yes and no on this. Okay. Fair enough. uh steaks who i've been abbreviating super chat says to be honest greg never says my name right when i super chat i won't lie to you can i get the one yeah it's because it's bad you got a bad username oh so it's steak sticks animations now you say oh steak sticks like s-t-i-c-k-s no steak s-t-i-x all shoved together animations yeah nope yeah nope nope nope nope nope nope nope Nope, nope, nope.
1:05:54Do you ever look at your channel and go, man, I got 6.9 thousand subscribers. Maybe it's because my name's fucking stupid. Got him. Did you ever think about that steak six? Because I think you should. Maybe, you know, tonight, clear the whiteboard. Is it dumb? Question mark. And I know you're too far locked in. Now, here's what I'll call out. Your animations look fucking dope. Oh, shit. Look at this fucking creepy ass. This is a family guy animation. Thanks. This is fucking good. but you should probably just go to steaks. That's what I would do. Just change your name to steaks. That rolls off the tongue.
1:06:27People know how to find that. They like that. Steak stick animation. Steak sticks animation. This is why, what is the steak sticks? I can go for a steak on the stick though. That's just a beef stick. I brought a whole bunch of new beef sticks in. New beef sticks. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Great. That Asian one says, LOL. You pronounced it right. It's the chats in COD, Kill Cam, that mispronounced them. That's why you guys are awesome. Also, Gamer Girl here, Smiley. That's awesome. Nice. And I love that. Now, I will call out this. When I said this before, one of the freeloader chats was like, I want to know why Greg says COD and not COD.
1:07:04And I'll let you know, because when you were suckling on your mom's fucking teeth, I was writing about video games. And we always called it COD for Call of Duty, because that's an abbreviation. Then y 'all came in and you went, cod pieces. And now you start calling it cod. And you want me to change. That's on you. No. Because guess what? In 20 years, I'll still be here talking about COD. And you know what you'll be doing? Fucking taking care of some kid. You won't be playing video games anymore, all right? You'll be going there, ringing the big accounting machine at work every day like an idiot.
1:07:35We're going wide as steak sticks animation still. We have$7 ,000. 20 years later. Don't get me fired up today. I was fired up during Gregway because I was leaving voice comments on YouTube comments. That's a bad move. Them letting me leave voice comments because people better everybody if you don't watch a lot you got to get hip to the game that when I do a voice comment I'm usually doing a heel character because it's going to get me in trouble fast. When I say give me the one that's when we're having fun here. So when Steak Sticks' mom comes in and be like He cried himself to sleep because he doesn't have sex.
1:08:12He was saying his name. I'm Mrs. Steak Sticks. You know what I mean? I don't want to fucking hear it. Now you get it.
1:08:22Katie Butler, Super Chat, says, Birthday tax for me. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Thanks for all the laughs and fun over the past six years. Hopeful to meet you in SF soon. Joey and I are still waiting for the Taylor Swift albums in review one day, Greg. I offer them all the time. Wow. And Tim Geddes always has some fucking excuse why we have to go do a goddamn animated movie that's going to get 3 ,000 views. Tim Geddes isn't here. CEO Jr., can we do it? Tim Jr., can we do it? I don't fucking give a shit what we do. Thank you, I appreciate that. The only way that could have been better is if he took a drag off his cigarette while he says, I don't fucking give a shit, man.
1:08:57Allie came in late and said, had a super chat, just let Jared know he's a sweet, lovely human being. Claw Master says, wow, Greg, so all bald people look the same, huh? Calling Jared Barrett, shame. here's what I'll say Clawmaster I've been doing this for nearly 20 years you had to put two G's at the end of my name that's how fucking dumb you are you're just drinking a glass of lead paint right now what were you thinking the amount of fucking dumbass motherfuckers who watch this show wow

1:10:57you know what I would like to take a moment though Greg I would like to share with you that your boy Snowbike Mike went two and one in this magic pre-release for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles it was technically three and oh it is a two oh and one I did take a draw but I want you to know that I played the best magic of my life on Sunday afternoon from Friday night getting my butt whooped from 11 to 2.30 in the morning. Yeah. Then followed that up by Saturday when I showed up for the 4 o 'clock event and no one else showed up. And the guy said, we're canceling this. Get out of here. Say, get the fuck out.
1:11:33To them returning on Sunday. You had to win, though, right? They gave you the. They gave me some packs. That was nice. That was nice of them to treat me like that. And then to show up on Sunday and to lock in and see the synergies, to build off the bombs, to build a red and white deck that synergized with Raphael and Leonardo that gave all of my attacking characters a double strike and also two combat phases, and then get this, Greg, slap the first jabroni. Got him. Dominated, right? Then I go in. No, no. First game, guy's got bad breath. Oh, you hate it. Get a breath, man, okay? We go 1-1. Then we go the distance in the game number three.
1:12:12Do you think the bad breath was like a fucking... It was a tactic. It's a tactic. You should have shit your pants. Fight fire with fire. So we go 1-1. We go to game three. Now get this, Greg. They have a time limit. They give you three games in an hour, essentially. And so we're going the distance. I'm up 22-4 on him. And they're like, you get five turns left. I'm like, I'm winning. I should get this win. We go five turns. I can't finish him. He's not going to finish me. And they go, oh, that's a draw. Oh, that's bullshit. I'm like, well, I'm 22-4. That's bullshit. That's crazy. right? So then get this.
1:12:48I go to game number two. I'm playing. I'm slapping this jabroni around. Sorry, Jay. Beat him up right there. That's where I play my first card. Barrett, I sent it over to you. Broadcast takeover. Gain control of all artifacts your opponent's control at the end of the turn. Untap them and they gain haste until end of turn. Watch out, Greg, because I win against my opponent with his own stuff. So now this card's going to come back into play. Game number three. Guys, 2-0. Snowback Mike technically 2-0. Having the best game of my life right now. I go one. He goes one. We go to game number three, Greg.
1:13:26It comes down to the wire. I got him down to four health. He takes two big swings at me, gets me down to one health. I am up against it. I'm holding broadcast takeover in my hands. All I need is a mountain card to save me. If I don't draw this mountain, I won't win and I'll lose next turn. Part of the cards that Here you go. Gave me the mountain. Play the card. Take over all of his artifacts. Win the game. The greatest day of magic I've ever had in my entire life. I went from four events, 12 plus events each weekend. Oh, and three, oh, and three, oh, and three, oh, and three. Dominating. Congratulations, Mike.
