Chronic migraine, 15 or more headache days a month, each lasting four hours or more, can make me feel like a spectator in my own life. Botox, onabotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It's the number one prescribed branded chronic migraine preventive treatment. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor.
1:19Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. Tell your doctor your medical history, muscle or nerve conditions, including ALS Lou Gehrig's disease, myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, and medications, including botulinum toxins, as these may increase the risk of serious side effects.

2:56what's up everybody and welcome to kind of funny games daily for friday august 22nd 2025 i'm one of your hosts snow bike mike and today i am joined by the lock the tastemaker one of my best friends number 1.2 1.2 roger picorny roger what's going on buddy what a
3:14Tim Gettys:beautiful day. I mean, to hear Splinter Cell in the top three news stories. I know Blessing was trying to cut that out of the top three. You know what I mean? Like he's probably trying to get it to Wee News, but I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, not happening. I'm very excited. I've been waiting. I've been waiting to watch this trailer. I'm excited to hang out. You got mad at me yesterday because I did click on the trailer and my cell phone at full volume. Full volume is what I hear. It's just dead silent office. And I just hear, I hear the fucking goggles going on. I'm Mike, Mike, just wait.
3:42Tim Gettys:Like, literally, we're going to be on content tomorrow. Just don't watch it. Just stop scrolling for five seconds. Of course, I have Splinter Cell super fan in the office. Roger McCorney here with me on Games Daily, which means we will live react to the brand new Splinter Cell anime trailer. We have some other dope stories to get through on this Friday, but the biggest story of them all. Oh, I like this. It's normally in housekeeping, but I'm going to tell them about it right now. Yes. Mario Party is going down inside the studio. It has taken months to convince these jabronis to finally play. And they have all bought in.
4:13They're all ready to sit on the couch on the big stage and play Mario Party together.
4:19Tim Gettys:And we couldn't make it easy for them. We couldn't just say, hey, guys, hang out, maybe drink a little bit, play some Mario Party. We're like, no, we're going to add another element of disaster of chaos to this. And you want to tell them about it, Mikey? Yeah, Roger. You and I said, how do we get them up and moving? How do we get them from sitting on the couch, kind of getting into a low flow state? How do we keep them moving? And so we have 20 IRL challenges that we will perform and play throughout this awesome stream. So get ready to get everybody standing up, shaking, stretching, laughing, having a good time.
4:51So if you enjoy Mario Party, if you love the kind of funny crew, and you want to see us do some dumb minute-to-minute challenges, don't miss out on the fun. That will be after today's Gamescast for your afternoon stream. So a great Friday to cap off the week. as we are near the end of August, Roger.
5:08Tim Gettys:Yeah, man, we're almost there. I can't believe that summer's almost over. We're right there. We're in the dog days of summer. That's good. That's good. Does that know how dog sounds? Every time Bron Breaker does this thing where he goes, I want my dogs in the building, and everyone goes, I don't feel like I'm doing it right. I feel like I'm a sad puppy. No, no, Roger. You give out a great dog bark. I appreciate that. I appreciate it. Great job. Mike, how are you doing? Are you playing anything fun? You doing anything fun? Yeah, Roger. As you know, I'm in the thick of it when it comes to my Pokemon Nuzlocke journey.
5:42Thank you for asking. Attempt number five did not go my way. So attempt number six took place and that failed quickly. So now I'm on attempt number seven. Oh, shit. And I'm happy to report that I have dropped the Mike Lock rules and I've gone to the traditional Nuzlocke big three rules. So I will be able to say when I complete this, that I have completed and done my first ever real Nuzlocke. Completed. Yeah. I'm going to complete it. Now, I'm so confused.
6:14Tim Gettys:Isn't a Nuzlocke, like a proper Nuzlocke harder than what you were already doing? Yeah. Yeah. Way harder. Why do you have the confidence that you're going to be able to beat this one? Cause I've now mastered the first four hours of this video game. Cause I've done it so many times that I know what it takes to get to where I need to be. You're like me yesterday where I'm trying desperately to shoot just a little bit away from the basketball hoop. Not even a three-pointer at all, right? And I get like two in a row, and I'm like, I could do three-pointers. I start going back, and I'm just missing everyone.
6:43Tim Gettys:That's what you're going to do tonight. You're like, I got the confidence now. I can do this. I'm very excited. I'm having a ton of fun. It's all I can think about, Roger. And it's going to be my weekend, so I'm really, really pumped about that. Thank you for asking. And thanks for giving me your encouragement and your nod of approval. As you know, I'll get it done. Yeah, I'm proud of you. and I always love an unearned confidence and that's just kind of all you. I've been playing two things really quick. I won't talk about it. Wow, okay. I'm going to shout it out. You know, sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong and he's currently my mortal enemy.
7:12Tim Gettys:He's your 1.1. Yeah, he's my 1.1. He's my number 25 all the way down to the bottom of the list. Andy Cortez, him and I are beefing, of course. But right now, he did tell me, he said, hey, play King is watching. That game rules. That game rules everybody. You got to play that game. That's on Steam right now. King is watching. Pretty sure that's the name of the game, right? Have you played This Seat is Taken? Yes, I've also played that. That's a great one. That one's also really good. I'm playing that right now. Love that one. That one's a fun time. That's a fun nighttime game or whatever, yeah.
7:40Tim Gettys:It gets a little complicated by the ending. Really? I'm just like, how far are you into it? I beat the first world. I don't want to sit next to somebody stinky. Yeah. I want to steal somebody's popcorn. By the ending of it, it starts to become like, oh, well, I'm a fan of this team, and this person is stinky, and it just gets so complicated. I love that. But Oh, Is the Seat is Taken is really good. King is watching is awesome and then Void Breakers Andy has been telling me about and I played a little bit of that, that game has the stuff too so shout out to Andy Cortez, you know what I mean sometimes he's wrong but a lot of times he's right so the GOAT there's some great game recommendations for you to jump into this weekend from Mike and Roger but enough of that, this is Kind of Funny Games Daily, each and every weekday we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about live on Twitch, YouTube and of course on podcast services around the globe, if you love what we do consider supporting us with the brand new kind of funny membership available on YouTube, patron, Apple podcast services, and Spotify, where you can get all of our shows ad free, watch us, record them live.

10:56Our Patreon producers for the month, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Factor Shady Rays and Aura Frames, but I'll tell you all about that later. Let's jump in with what is and forever will be the Roper Report.
11:18It's time for some news. We have six stories today. Ah, Baker's Desert! Story number one. Bungie CEO Pete Parsons is leaving after nearly a decade. This coming from Jordan Midler at VGC. Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has announced that he is leaving the company after almost a decade. Quote, after more than two decades of helping build this incredible studio, establishing the Bungie Foundation and growing inspiring communities around our work, I have decided to pass the torch, Parsons wrote in a message announcing his departure. This journey has been an honor of a lifetime. I'm deeply proud of the worlds we've built together and the millions of players who call them home.
12:07And most of all, I am privileged by the opportunity to work alongside the incredible minds at Bungie. End quote. Justin Truman, the studio's chief development officer, will take his place. Parsons originally joined Bungie in 2002, working as an executive producer on Halo 2 and Halo 3. He would ascend to his current role as CEO in 2016. Roger. Hi. We got some movement here under the Bungie umbrella and, of course, under the Sony umbrella as well. Pete Parsons stepping down and leaving, passing the torch onto someone new. What's the thoughts here?
12:42Tim Gettys:uh yeah my first thought was that was he forced out like what was the behind the scenes because we've seen what is happening with marathon and kind of that game coming out and having this big moment and then completely reeling back like going right back into hiding and then also also of course all of the uh scandals when it came to the art and the design of that uh but then i wanted to bring up another news story really quick from paul tassie uh over at forbes who is uh hot on the beat when it comes to Destiny and Bungie in general. And when this article is great, you should read it, go over to Forbes and read it.
13:17Tim Gettys:But specifically the part over here that says, however, the narrative that because of the studio's problems, sorry, however, the narrative that because of the studio's problems, Parsons was just forced out by Sony is almost certainly not the case. It is overwhelmingly likely that this is the result of the Sony deal to purchase Bungie. That purchase saw vested stock deals for executives and Bungie veterans that were usually in either three years or five years, meaning those with deals could walk away with a big buy package of millions or tens of millions after that point in time. If that's what Parsons just did, that is easily tens of millions.
13:59Tim Gettys:so that is Paul Tassi's theory right there that this is a kind of him staying on board to get that vested stock situation and leaving to get millions and millions of dollars in his pocket of course that is not confirmed but that is seemingly the way that the wind is blowing right here at least according to Paul Tassi yeah I mean another he can drive off and drive as many many cars during his time of retirement but I sincerely hope that this is a new page for Bungie that this is a moment where they can listen to the community because clearly the community is very happy about this you can see if you go on the red threads if you go on r slash destiny they're very happy that uh he is leaving the post and they are hopeful potentially that this next person that's coming up now can listen to the community and kind of right the ship a little bit but I don't know man I'm I'm very if I were to if I were to be a betting man I'm not very hopeful when it comes to the future of uh Bungie specifically with now them basically being a Sony studio it's just they've they've lost a lot of the juice they've lost a lot of the allure of what made bungee bungee and i i want them to kind of regain that magic i just don't think we're in a right place for sony specifically to give them that autonomy to do that so i don't think that's what's going to happen in the future okay interesting stuff right there roger yeah we talk about now we shift gears to the future of bungee right and what those projects will be Justin Truman now stepping in as the new torchbearer here.
15:24And you look at what Bungie has established himself on. It is Destiny with this live service game. Now we look towards Marathon that had a very rocky launch here of like, hey, we're talking about this. We're putting it in beta. Okay, we're getting a lot of feedback. It doesn't seem like it's the move. Let's come back and figure out where we want to be for when we actually launch this game. And so right now you kind of have Bungie at its weakest stage right now. Destiny of course still has an incredible fan base That is looking for more Destiny They're happy they continue to get more Destiny But there is of course more you can do for that Marathon on the other side Extraction shooters A very tough market to be in And then you bring up a great part of Now Sony's in the mix So what is Justin's true role here Of overseeing Bungie But also answering to Sony And working with Sony here We look at Xbox and those acquisitions With of course Bethesda and Todd Howard, right?
16:18And giving them kind of the freedom to still be Bethesda while also being with Microsoft. Did they get that over on this Bungie side or is it a little bit different here moving forward?
16:27Tim Gettys:Yeah, for sure. The Bethesda side of things is such a unique studio and the amount of brands that they have and the fact that ZeniMax as a whole is a publisher. It is something unique that has so many things going on for it. Where Bungie right now, yeah, is just in a precarious situation where right now PlayStation is clearly pulling back from their live service push, right? They had this, they're very bullish on it. They have new leadership now. They're like, ah, maybe this is not the way to go about it. Of course, with Concord, canceling multiple live service games, it puts Bungie in this moment where they either have to deliver when it comes to Marathon, excuse me, or they are just going to become another support studio.
17:09Tim Gettys:And I don't want that to happen. I don't want that to happen to them. Kyle L writes in with a$5 super chat and says, Bungie, just a little quick Bungie point here, Pete Parsons title was CEO, Justin's title is studio head, Sony assuming more direct control over Bungie here. Yeah, that makes sense So a big one there, of course, Justin best of luck to you, congratulations on your new role, hope all the best for you, and really hope all the best for Bungie right, as a consumer and a gamer I really have loved all of Bungie's work from Halo into Destiny, right I was someone who liked a lot of what I saw from Destiny, the extraction it's off the top of my head now.
17:48Destiny Extraction? The Extraction game. Marathon. I dropped it out of my mind real quick. I liked Marathon when we played the big three out of that me, Andy and Nick and so I'm hoping that they can figure this out and land that right and so Justin has a big role to step into that will be exciting. He has a lot of background here. If you read the big X posts and of course Blue Sky, Justin seems to be very excited about working so long here at Bungie and now taking on this role.
18:16Tim Gettys:Studio head. Yeah. I mean, yeah, we're, we're going to see, I'm, I'm interested to see. There's always the, what was it? The recently it was like, Oh, is, is marathon canceled? I don't think that's ever, I've marathon is going to come out. It's just a matter of, does it, you think so? Well, I'm giving you the look like you think Roger really? Yeah. I mean, I've, I've gone on record many of times of like, if I could wave the magic wand, marathon would be canceled. We would be focusing on moving into destiny three and we would continue to support Destiny 2, but we would be moving into, like, I need to give the player base, and, like, I need to bring in new and old returning fans with a new title, Destiny 3.
18:52Tim Gettys:Well, I mean, I think that's already in the works, right? Like, they can't just be all hands on deck for just Marathon and then keeping up of Destiny 2. I feel like there has to be some type of... What if it's something brand new? What if we move away from Destiny? I mean, either way, what I'm saying is, like, Marathon is not the thing holding back the studio, right? Like, if Marathon comes out and it flops I mean that that changes a lot of things but either way like marathon is not the thing if we cancel it now we get destiny 3 now we get the new ip they're working on something else they have to be thinking about what that future is cut a lot of time and resources out of supporting marathon and we can at least focus more of the ship on that but yeah yeah roger you are probably right we will see marathon in some sort of way shape or form and no matter how long its lifespan is three months six months a year five years it will somehow come out it's it's got to at this points.
19:38So we'll see. It's going to be exciting times. Extraction shooters, man. Pete Parsons, enjoy your big payout, hopefully, if that's the truth on that one, and we'll see you later. Story number two. DC head James Gunn teases new future for WB Games with some bigger things now in early stages. This coming from Michael Kripe at IGN. DC Studios co-CEO and Superman director James Gunn sends big things are in store for Warner Bros. games. but it's going to take a while to see them come to fruition. The comic book big wig spoke about his plans to expand the DC universe during an interview with games radar.
20:18Plus the comic book, big wig. I like that. We got to start calling big wigs.
20:23Tim Gettys:I like that. We got to bring that back. That's fire. As gun co-CEO, Peter Safran, or as gun co-CEO, Peter Safran, and the rest of the DC studios crew plot, a new course for DCU shows and movies. The Superman movie maker says he has no plans to leave gaming out of the equation. Quote, there's been some, there's been some slight movement on different things. Gun teased. We have a couple of little DC games coming out, but we also have talked about and in early stages of planning, some bigger things. One thing in particular I'm excited about, but it does take time. There's been some changes in Warner Bros games.
21:03and so we're dealing with new people, end quote. Those changes he's referring to have been unraveled throughout the last year or so and have seen WB Games shifting its focus to four key franchises, Mortal Kombat, Harry Potter, DC, and Game of Thrones. It's a fundamental change to how Warner Bros. is looking to the future following massive losses tied to Rocksteady Studios' Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, as well as the underperformance and eventual shutdown of multi-versus. Gunn teases things are finally in motion at WB, but declined to share what kind of DC project fans can expect to see in the future.
21:45However, GamesRadar Plus adds that the director teased that there is a good chance Superman star David Kronoset could reprise his role for a video game. Roger.
21:59Tim Gettys:It's interesting because he says little things. Right. So my brain. Yeah. Really quick. He says we got some little things on right now. You have Lego Batman. That looks fucking phenomenal. For some reason, my brain gives some love to that interpreted like the little things as him being like, oh, like maybe we got like a bunch of little indie studios to make. I'm like, oh, like, no, no. He's just talking about Lego Batman. That's exactly like Roger. Don't even get excited for yourself. Like there's no D.C.U. thing that he's making that isn't the big triple A thing that he's talking about. Yeah, he's talking about Lego Batman.

22:26Tim Gettys:That sucks that he's calling the little thing. but I mean to his I guess from his point of view of like his involvement with it I'm sure his involvement is oh yeah you can get xyz bat suit or whatever it is right like that's his little thing is that his involvement let me tell you a quick secret take that as a wind under your belt yeah exactly like just like promote that shit I'd be like hey we got something just like you also took under your belt like the flash and then you said that it wasn't part of the dcu or any anybody there was you had no involvement in it after it bombed but then you also took under your belt, the penguin after did do really well.
22:58Tim Gettys:Like just take the win, take the win, take the Lego Batman win as for what it is. I'm so interested to see what that big thing is. That's an, that's an early development, right? My brain of course goes to Superman, right? Like is, is he finally doing it? Is he finally making the Superman game? Is he, is that what he wants to get Superman in a Superman game? Or is he just co-opting or, or working with Rocksteady on whatever their next Batman game is? Cause that would be the simplest way to kind of connect these universes a little bit here. maybe it's not a next Arkham game maybe he is they are working on a separate Batman thing that is developed by Rocksteady that it has James Gunn's involvement that is connected to the DCU I don't know but I kind of find it hard to think about where the video game aspect of this connects to the DCU when the DCU is this kind of ever-expanding kind of changing thing and we already see it right now as it's like as superman was the original slate of stuff was announced right a few years ago now two years ago now when he was like hey we're doing the gods and monsters saga here's all the projects that are in the works how that has already changed right like not dramatically but like he was like hey we're gonna do the authority movie we're gonna do uh swamp thing you know what are all these things that like he said he was gonna do but then now it's shifted a little bit right we're not doing authority we're probably not doing swamp thing unless james man gold you know finds time so to now have this pillar of gaming that you're trying to connect into the dcu that is such a slow moving thing and needs to kind of be consistent you can't just be changing games of stories and you know it's not free-flowing like a movie or like a tv series where you can kind of retcon things and kind of be a little bit more agile where video game no you need to kind of have that vision here you need to know what you're doing you kind of have to find your foundation your staples and stick to them yeah so i'm interested to see where he's coming because i would love a dcu game like a full-on like this is connected to the movies to the tv shows to everything and this is a video game that takes place in james guns's universe that's what i want i the more i think about it especially if he's talking about this is a big thing i just don't know if that's possible or if that's doomed even i don't know they call me a doomer but like that's that's a little scary to me there's a reason why kevin feige hasn't looked around and and we need to make a video game that's in the MCU.
25:11Tim Gettys:I'm sure he's thought about it, right? They have a Disney whole section of video games, right? I'm sure he's had the conversations with people. It just probably doesn't make sense with the way that the MCU is built out. Very well said on that, Roger. Thinking about the future and the timing of it all. Of course, Super Chat away with some of your DC superheroes, your dream games that you'd love to see. And if you're watching later on, let us know in the comments below. Because, yeah, Roger, you have a big set of it. Peacemaker now returning for season two last night. Yeah. John Cena. Fantastic.
25:39stuff. I'm sure people would love to see more out of that universe. And how do you make that a game? Of course you go down the list, right? And I think, yeah, Roger, when you think of game development, meeting the movies that James Gunn is trying to create and the timing that it would all take, right? You kind of have to go on to like the known ones that are going to be around for the long times, the Batman, the Superman, and just say, how do we just stick with those and make those great? Right? Cause yeah, I want a static shock game. Are we getting static shock? Absolutely.
26:07Tim Gettys:Well, technically, Static Shock is not technically a DC character. So that's also another thing. Exactly. How do we play this? I want Green Arrow, Oliver Queen. We're not getting a Green Arrow game, right? So, yeah, we're probably sticking with the big dogs. And we always go back to. Sorry. No. How do you make a great Superman game? Sure. Can you do that? You know, the fun thing about the DCU as I talk through this, because I'm very passionate about this. Clearly, I love James Gunn's DCU. I'm so excited for what he's doing here. uh the interesting thing about it is that he's already teased and shown in superman in the hall of justice like there's a past year there's a bunch of superheroes that have existed in the past that is an easy way to go about this right is to do a full-on prequel video game that takes place maybe in the 70s and the 60s and in a time period that does not connect to the movies or connects very lightly to the movies and you show a group of heroes right is that exciting though i don't know like is it like you know what i mean like if you want a video game you're spending hundreds of million dollars on a video game you want wonder woman you want batman you want superman you want green lantern you want these big franchise leads you don't want to have okay here's gunsling and fucking i don't know zathura like you don't want those to be the main you know sorry to all the zathura fans but like you know whatever uh but i don't know it's it's an interesting balance but i'm excited to see this because he's a james james is a video game guy he loves video games he helped to write or he was the writer of Chainsaw Lollipop big gamer he loves this stuff so I don't doubt that he's ever going to be a part of this he's going to try to make it happen but I just doubt that video games are going to easily connect it to his universe and the way that he's creating it right now I like over in the YouTube chat right now we have the big three Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman Zatanna, I said Zathura I love that movie of course JB writes in with a super chat says I want Batman Beyond games do it Gunn of course Batman Beyond the future of that what that could really look like but yeah this is great to hear James Gunn wants to be involved and think about the gaming side of things as well we know that WB is going through some stuff right now so yeah WB definitely needs a win under their belt and wants it to be one of their big four for sure right so we have plenty of Game of Thrones mobile games I'd love a real Game of Thrones game but like yo shout out to the mobile games And then like on the other side, right, Mortal Kombat, you know, will be around.
28:29I'm sure there will be an easy layup of DC superhero characters on either DLCs or if you do get Injustice going, that would be great, right? You could definitely work with them on creating a fun crossover story there. That would be fantastic. A multiverse thing. Yeah. I mean, we'll see more from this, but it's nice to know that he's thinking about that and wants to do some good stuff over there.
28:50Tim Gettys:Yeah. I mean, because that was in the beginning of his like thesis statement for this. he said video games and we all kind of looked at each other like, well, what could that mean? But it's like, you know, now we're three, two or three years into this experiment, right? It's if it's slow moving, then it's not going to be for another five, six years. It's gonna be a while. Botox, onabotulinum toxin A, prevents headaches in adults with chronic migraine. It's not for those with 14 or fewer headache days a month. It's the number one prescribed branded chronic migraine preventive treatment. Prescription Botox is injected by your doctor. Effects of Botox may spread hours to weeks after injection causing serious symptoms. Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems, or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition.
33:57Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Why wait? Ask your doctor, visit BotoxChronicMigraine.com, or call 1-800-44-BOTOX to learn more.

Happy Halloween Yeah Happy Halloween It's coming soon Think about your costume Think about your costume Think about your costume now I already know What if you and I do a couple's costume A little team up costume What was the team up idea
35:15Tim Gettys:What do you want to do Well I mean we have Omega Buster writing in With a$10 super chat And says Have they reached out for a Mike and Roger Superhero team up game Aw shit If you would like Dumb and dumber In your background of your Superman game Maybe like Oh it's Superman And Mike goes, hey, that's Cronin's Slam. We're available. We're available anytime. Of course, we also have one more Super Chat coming in where we talk about DC Super Games. We have Shark89 writing in and says, reverse bully style RPG with Clark Kent coming into his powers as a kid. Assign points as he learns his powers. Save people.
35:55Farm.
35:56Tim Gettys:I like the idea of a reverse bully game. He's protecting the kids But he's also learning his powers He punched one kid too hard And he was like oh man I gotta control my powers For some reason I think about a reverse thing I think about the complete opposite I guess he has hair, yeah he's not bald Oh you're thinking like a Billy Madison all of a sudden He's just old man Superman Inside of the high school Punching kids I love that Corn and sweat Let's jump to story number three Roger is very pumped up about this. We are going to live react to the Splinter Cell Death Watches trailer. Nope. Oh, yeah.
36:37Tim Gettys:Death Watch. Death Watch. Kevin, are we ready for this? There we go. We're on, dude. Splinter Cell Death Watch trailer now. Fuck yeah, I'm excited. I've been waiting for this one. Brought to you by Netflix. We're going to tell you all the details after this. Brought to you by Netflix. Well, it's made by Netflix. Okay, yeah. It just sounded like it was sponsored by Netflix. Brought to you by Netflix. There we go.
37:07The green Netflix end is pretty hard. Don't have much time.
37:14From the writer and creator of John Wick.
37:20He's choking people out. Please respond. Dodging bullets. I'm here. You're a hard man to reach, Sam Fisher. He's murdering people in the darkness. This mission is personal.
37:42Either you do this with me, or I do it alone. Now! They have saber-toothed as Sam Fisher.
37:53Tim Gettys:Alright, there's a little bit too many There's a little bit too many A little bit too many of the fucking sound effects What do you mean, the little night vision beeps? I like that It's a drop It's an EDM drop That's crazy When it happened twice, I was like, there's no way They're gonna do it more than twice Keep that on the background Just loop it and unmute it Because I want to keep on looking at that Okay Give me your thoughts, Roger. That's your first thought of Splinter Cell Death Watch going to Netflix. Disappointed in the 3D animation. Didn't expect that. When we saw all of the images, it seemed like it was going to be a fully 2D style thing, almost like a Devil May Cry.
38:40Tim Gettys:It has this weird, it reminds me of, yeah, it's a 3D CGI type thing that is mimicking 2D. I don't love that art style. I mean, some moments look good, but it's just not. I'm sure maybe in motion when I watch an entire episode, it'll kind of just glaze over. But when I see this chart, I'm like, okay, this is not really doing it for me in terms of the art style and the animation, rather. But I like Sabretooth, Liev Schreiber as the voice actor. Honestly, he sounds good to me. He sounds like he could be the next Sam Fisher. Hey, now, get him in the booth. If they wanted to kind of, if Michael Ironside wanted to kind of give up and say, hey, I want to just go into retirement, he would be a good person to replace him for sure.
39:21Tim Gettys:Because he has that voice. When you close your eyes, you're like, yep, that's Sam Fisher for sure. Yeah, I'm interested in this. I like that they're going for an older Sam Fisher. It seems like where I'm sure they're going to pick and choose what the canon is with the games and everything. but I like that they're going for an older grizzled Sam Fisher that could hopefully be kind of like the ending of this storyline, uh, and be like that canonical thing for us fans. And then hopefully the remake kind of just goes in a different direction. Uh, but yeah, I enjoyed that. That was cool. I'm going to watch the fuck out of that.
39:52Tim Gettys:And man, the fucking, even the sound effect in the beginning with, uh, the person calling him over the phone and you hear it like, fuck, that's the exact sound effect, man. Man. It's so funny. Like how, how deep of a splinter cell nerd I am because it is ever since I was like four years old I've been playing these games and watching them so man I'm excited what do you think about his ponytail slash man bun pretty hot right I I don't the ponytail doesn't the ponytail doesn't hurt me at all I like the ponytail ponytail is cool the but the bushiness of the beard a little a little Santa Claus little Santa Claus like he shaves it down halfway through the trailer yeah just a little bit a little too bushy a little too bushy for me well Roger when you go dark and you have to get off the grid there is no going into a grocery store buying a razor and shaving cream.
40:33You gotta get kind of you gotta get out there. He can cut it though. He has scissors. You don't think he has scissors? No, he doesn't have scissors. No, no. He has a knife. He would never have a scissors. He would never have a scissors. Roger, some details coming from IGN. The show, written by Derek Kallstad, the creator of John Wick, appears to set after the event of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory as the trailer shows the funeral of Sam's former comrade-in-arms Douglas Setland. who Sam killed in the game.
41:04Tim Gettys:Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. And then, of course, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Death Watch launches on Netflix October 14th. Coming up? Roger, you have like just over a month before this drops. Before we watch this, and then it just never gets another season because no one's going to watch this. It's going to be me. No, really. No one's watching this. I'm watching this. I'm pumped for this. I like the Netflix anime video games that they've been coming out with. I've liked all of them. Does this got the stuff like a Devil May Cry? I don't think it got the stuff like a Devil May Cry. In terms of an IP and the excitement behind this, when Devil May Cry was announced, I saw people that literally just know the character of Dante were like, I'm in.
41:46Tim Gettys:We're going. We're doing this. But when it comes to Splinter Cell, people actually are excited for this. Maybe it's the John Wick name that'll get people excited about it. I don't know. Of course, if you are watching live, Super Chat Away, let us know if you're excited for this. Roger there's hundreds Of Sam Fisher's super fans Out there okay I'm one of them I know I know I see them at the conventions Every month We give a nod and we go Whenever we see each other They really milked the shit Out of that that was crazy It's like we got one thing We got one thing For common fans that's all they know about Splitter cells so they have to do that Yeah I saw somebody in the chat saying that Sam Fisher is a clean cut guy.
42:30Tim Gettys:This is not canon. That is not true because he does have a little bit of a beard going on there in the canceled splinter cell conviction version of the game. But yeah, I get what you're saying. He does feel like a clean cut guy. So it just feels a little wrong, but I'm down for it. I'm excited for it. Do we know how many episodes there are? Probably like six or eight or something like that. Something. It's probably eight to ten. Yeah. It's usually the window of these things. Eight to ten. A little small amount of thing. Yeah, we'll see. I'm interested. Are you going to watch this? I'm 100 % watching this.
42:55Roger, I am a sucker for any, like I said, Anytime Netflix puts out a video game anime, I'm usually jumping in and watching it no matter what. Yeah. And so, yeah, I'm a sucker for this stuff. I want more of this. Yeah. I'm into this. Yeah. And I hope that we get a second season. Yeah.
43:09Tim Gettys:They also had the trailer for Devil May Cry season two came out, but I didn't watch season one, so I don't want to watch it. Yeah, I need to watch it. I watched the first episode. I liked it. You played Devil May Cry? Yeah. I beat three of this stuff. Yeah, you did? I beat three this year. And by Devil May Cry, I played the Team Ninja one. People don't like you. Okay, okay. that's cool yeah exciting stuff exciting stuff to keep on your radar October right around the corner of course reminder October 14th for that with your Netflix subscription if you're tuning in and watching Sam Fisher and the squad we have a super chat coming in from Kessel Wings that says Roger's ad read has me smiling every time his delivery in the first person is so cutesy that I can hear him say at the end of it much love I did say in between every take I had to cut it out.
43:58Tim Gettys:Thank you for that, Kessel Wings. Of course, Super Chat away. Let us know if you'll be watching the Splinter Cell anime coming out very, very soon. Let's move on to story number four. Division 2 Survivors has been announced. This coming from the Ubisoft blog post. The Division 2 Survivors will bring an updated take on the survival extraction experience to the Division 2. Development of the Division Survivors is currently in early stages under the leadership of Magnus Jensen as creative director, a veteran of the Division from the early days of the original game. Quote, the Division II survivors is as much your baby as it is ours, and we strive for the transparency during its development.
44:45Clear communication and community involvement are a focus as we build the new experience, and we will be closely involving you as we move forward on the development journey. End quote, said Julian Gertright. I always mess that one up. Executive producer. We will have more to share with you soon. But until then, here's a peek at the logo and a few new pieces of concept art. Roger, Division 2.
45:15Tim Gettys:Yeah, never played it. Never played it. But I'm very interested that this continues to be updated and supported. That's really awesome. You always, you're missing out on a great one. The Division 2 is great. Yeah, I just wasn't there in the beginning, so I just feel like I could never jump back because I don't have my crew. No better time to jump into the Division 2 than right now. that's what they always say yeah this is a exciting wild one of course my division one time was spent in the dark zone it was a special time of like that was my first time ever dipping my toe into a extraction type gameplay extraction shooter of course of like jumping into the dark zone trying to get items and then you got to extract out with them safely to earn those and the idea that we will see this survival extraction experience come to the Division 2 is exciting.
46:05The unfortunate part, Roger, is I haven't played the Division 2 in years since launch. I'm always stunned whenever we read a new story that the Division 2 is still getting updates and still getting love. I know it is a massive title for Ubisoft. It is one of those foundational tentpoles that they need to survive and continue on. So it's a big deal. I just don't know who's playing this besides Andy Cortez.
46:29Tim Gettys:It's crazy. I'm looking at the SteamDB charts right now. 4 ,000 people are playing it right now, which is like sounds minuscule that's pretty that's pretty good for a game of this of this you know uh how old it is and also how many games there are on steam there's a core audience of people that are playing this game this is just on steam by the way right that doesn't include ubisoft connect or console or whatever so there's a decent amount of people playing this game right now as we speak um i'm just interested as to like is are we not making three i'd like are we not making division three is there a reason why they're continuing to update just this one because they'd have the audience and they just want to keep them engaged.
47:01Tim Gettys:Division three seems like something that I would have assumed would have happened already. Alex Frazier writes him in the$5 super chat and says super chatting because I'm shocked to hear that people still play the division. Yeah. As are we, as we're a little shocked on that one. I don't know the answer, Roger. I think of course, Ubisoft is going through a lot right now. We also, of course, seen star Wars get developed right as well. I think that came from Ubisoft massive. Yeah. And they also did the avatar game, right? And so, yeah, I think there's a lot of other things going on there, but the division is one of their titles that will continue to get love.
47:37I wonder when you rip that bandit off Roger and go to the division three, similar talking about destiny two, right? You look at these games that, Hey, we've had a long run. It is time to go. Can you tell me what year the division two came out? Maybe it has more legs than we actually think.
47:51Tim Gettys:Raj division two. Oh, let me Google it. Cause I don't know if it came to steam division. to release date was 2019 it says. 2019? People are typing in 2017? 2019? Yeah, 2019 is what I'm seeing on Google right now. March 15, 2019. We're going into year number 6 on that one, Rod. So you have a little bit of time on this one, but also you could be slowing down for sure. But we'll see what this brings in. Extraction shooter. If you know the Dark Zone, you're probably excited, but is this something where you go as a casual fan. Oh, this is what I want. This is what I need. But they're complimenting a lot more added story stuff.
48:32We just talked about the Brooklyn DLC that Andy was really excited to jump into. So they're giving you more division and more ways to play than ever. So like this is a good thing if you're a Division 2 fan because you have a lot to play. Will you play with me? Will I show you the Division 2? No, but Andy will. I'm going to force Andy to. I'm currently playing Pokemon. I'm very busy, Roger. Don't call me. I thought I was your 1.2.
48:56Tim Gettys:don't call me you're gonna send your 1.1 to do do what a 1.0 should have done that's crazy roger let's go to story number five silksong is out soon and indie games are getting out of the way this coming from j peters at the verge we have some delays being announced yesterday hollow night silksong developers team cherry announced a september 4th release date for the long-awaited game and indie developers are announcing delays to get out of the way of the launch silksong is a full sequel to the excellent hollow knight and is currently the most wishlisted game on steam so it's likely going to be very popular when it finally is available panic arcade which was set to release its hellish gambling roguelike clover pit yeah on september 3rd has pushed the game's launch to September 26th.
49:52Telltale Games, which was planning to launch the adventure RPG Feyland out of early access on September 9th, is postponing the release and plans to share a new date soon. And Ethereum Games Studios, which is developing a 2D side-scrolling game focused on combat and exploration called Eternin. Eternin? Eternin? Thank you. is postponing its planned super September launch to sometime in 2026, because the game wouldn't have the visibility it deserves. Roger? Yeah. Three delays getting out of the way.
50:33Tim Gettys:Yeah. I mean, it makes sense. The more I think about it, the more I'm like, I'm sure these indie developers are thankful that Hollow Knight didn't just drop randomly and kind of like, fuck, they gave a date. They said the date, they said, get out of the way. You have two weeks, get out the way. uh so shout out to uh specifically the one game that i recognize here is uh the uh why does it clover yeah clover pit uh uh developed by panic arcade did the people that did uh yellow taxi taxi goes room uh so this is their little smaller title that is legitimately one of the most wish listed games on steam right now yeah so this game is a big deal for them so them getting out of the way of uh hollow night makes a lot of sense and uh yeah i'm i hope these games find their place and And if they are able to get out of the way of Hollow Knight, they're going to be just fine.
51:20Yeah, that's a tough one, Roger, because of course all these indie games are really battling for your attention and just trying to have you see them in the visibility is a big one. I think that's the one, that final one being delayed to say, Hey, we need, we need the visibility. This game deserves is a big one because we're only going to be talking about Hollow Knight silksong for that week leading up to it, the week after it. You get a moment. Yeah. Get as much time away from you from this as you can. Of course, Team Cherry giving you the announcement. So now you have some time to move. These indie games are going to try to find their space later on in the month, which is smart and a good move right there.
51:55Hell yeah. Okay. Roger, Team Cherry finally releasing Hollow Knight Silksong is big news. But if I didn't want some big news, I want something smaller.
52:04Tim Gettys:Where would I go? You'd go to our last story, the Wii News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. Let's take it to the Wii News Network, Roger, from Wario64. Hollow Knight has reached an all-time peak concurrent player count on Steam at 20 ,000 players after Silksong's September 4th release date announcements. Wow. Get your playthrough ready right now. Time to jump in. Should I play it, Roger? I think you should. You're not going to beat it by the time. Eh, you could, maybe. If you really dedicate yourself. I don't think you're going to beat Hollow Knight 1 before Silksong.
52:40Tim Gettys:You don't think so, Rog? Yeah. I'm playing six hours of video games a night. It took me like 40 hours to beat Silksong. I mean, I'm Hollow Knight. Okay. Yeah. Will I get lost? That's my only downfall. Yeah, you will. I feel lost all the time. You will, but you have a chat if you're playing it with the chat. I just hate getting lost. I know. Me too. Because you know I never get lost in real life. I don't use maps. I just go off my feeling. You did get lost one time with me. I don't remember that. Yeah, you took like a roundabout and you're like, I don't know where I am. We're going to figure it out, Slappy.
53:06Tim Gettys:We ended up getting there 20 minutes late. From Gametsu, Sony Interactive Entertainment has sold its stake in the Evolution Championship Series to Naldon Gaming, a company backed by the PlayStation manufacturer's parent company, Sony Group Corporation, the organization announced. Yeah, I saw this yesterday. What? I didn't put this in... I didn't know where to put this, so I'm glad this is in WeNews, because I'm like... I was very confused, because it's like, Sony owns part of Evo, and now they sold their part of Evo to another company that they're backing, so it's like, it just seems like a lateral move.
53:40Tim Gettys:I don't know. I don't know the business logistics of it. I don't think anyone really understands it. Okay. Okay. Well, Evo out there. Evo had a great weekend. A lot of fun to watch. Was Evo last weekend? A couple weekends ago. Oh, yeah. A Persona crossover is coming to Overwatch 2. Huge. Tell Andy. Tell Andy. Big deal. He loves Persona 5. This gets you excited at all? No. What's your dream crossover? Just in general? Yeah. Batman. It was probably Ice Spice coming to Fortnite, wasn't it? Yeah, that was actually pretty sick. No, Yakuza and Fortnite. That's my answer. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah, that was leaked forever ago.
54:16Tim Gettys:It's never happened. What the fuck's happening? I want The Simpsons, too. Put The Simpsons. Okay. Bart. Bounty Star launches October 23rd on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Also, Game Pass Day 1. There's a fun one coming your way. You seem like a guy that would have said, eat my shorts. A lot. From Bart Simpson. Of The Simpsons. You know what? Even hearing Bart say that back in the day, Roger, it was still like, no one says that. People said it Eat my shorts? Yeah, people said it I wasn't around anybody saying that You weren't around the cool kids I wasn't getting detention, that's why Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 DLC Legacy of the Forge Launches September 9th So get ready to jump into DLC Number 2 Roger, that wraps up the Wii News Network Let's check some Super Chats Let's check you're wrong And let's get out of here a lot of people saying that nobody said eat my shorts but i don't know there's no no one was around at the time to prove it so a historical document 1342 became a member for 34 months almost three years of youtube membership thank you so much for your support for becoming a youtube member over there thank you says thanks mike for the follow on twitter you gave me the biggest smile ever shout out to alex got a little twitter follow today making me smile oh yeah every now and them i like to get on twitter i press the button you just press the button i say give me your tweets yeah let me see what you're tweeting about roger let's check you're wrong as we keep going on this show right now we're right i'm sure they're gonna say mike you mispronounced that guy's name wrong miss news no roger quickly said that splinter cell commission was a canceled game but it was actually a console exclusive he may have never remake of the first game mission no no i'm talking about okay the portland kevin it says roger quickly said that splinter cell conviction was a canceled game but it was actually a console exclusive for the 360 in april of 2010 he may have uh meant the remake of the first game that was only mentioned by ubisoft investors calls no no no portland kevin time yourself out i'm talking about the canceled version of splinter cell conviction where it was very heavily focused on social stealth like assassin's creed so his whole idea was that he was going to have like a beard and there was a game informer cover and he was going to hide in crowds and it was like less of a traditional stealth game it was more of him hiding in crowds and kind of doing that type of thing he was like off the grid and he had a little of a beard and longer hair and he looked younger so uh portland kevin uh time yourself out wow that's crazy you know what it's crazy you come out i would thank portland kevin because then you told all of us in the chat even more cool stuff about splinter cells so like just don't come at me like that.
