In short

Kinda Funny Games Daily (Sept 24, 2025) covers reviews and major news, focusing heavily on Final Fantasy Tactics: The Evil East Chronicles, plus Yakuza announcements, Borderlands 4’s Switch 2 delay, and a preview of Pokemon ZA.

Guests

Blessing Adeio Jr and Roger “The Lock” McCorry (hosts). No additional named guests are introduced; they cite other outlets and a superchat caller.

Key claims (Final Fantasy Tactics)

Reviewers rate the remake/remaster at 88 on Metacritic/OpenCritic. IGN (9/10) calls it a mostly by-the-book remake with smart UI tweaks, convenience features, and excellent new voice acting, but notes it doesn’t include all content from all versions and doesn’t fully fix original endgame imbalances. Nintendo Life (9/10) says it cuts War of the Lions content but improves quality of life, CPU/enemy tuning, and flow. Forbes (9/10) praises it as a brilliant tactical RPG that’s especially welcoming for newcomers.

Notable examples

The “resistance vs oppression” theme is highlighted via a Rolling Stone quote; a gameplay example discussed is a scene where a character asks “what type of American are you.” Yakuza: Kiwami 3 + Dark Ties launches Feb 12, 2026; Dark Ties is a standalone prequel starring antagonist Yoshitaka Mine. Borderlands 4 Switch 2 is delayed one week before Oct 3; digital preorders canceled. Pokemon ZA preview: active combat with cooldown-based moves, status-heavy battles, “plus” moves via Mega energy, and a demo fight vs Mega Victreebel.

3:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:let me tell you i guess this is getting ahead of story number one because we're gonna talk about final fantasy tactics the evil east chronicles the remake to the classic video game to final fantasy tactics i woke up to the reviews and i was upset for two reasons i was upset because i was like fucking goddamn fucking roger he was right all along the streets love it the reviewers they're nerds i'm tapped in i'm tapped that was the number one thing that made me upset the second thing that made me upset is me now feeling the need to play this this video game i saw those numbers and i read the reviews and i was like am i gonna play final fantasy tactics i've heard about it all my life like i know people swear by final fantasy tactics yeah but i didn't think the remake was gonna be the thing to make people go oh man you gotta come back you gotta and might be the reviews this might be the moment we'll get into it we'll get i'm also playing a lot of 80s too

3:53Tim Gettys:oh dude um so i booted it up last night uh for the first time since the network test that they did i played that network test liked it and i was like i'm not picking this up until 1.0 yeah now it's like fuck i put money in my mouth is i have to actually pick up this game and play it and i'm like man i'm just addicted it's i'm dropping it i'm like fuck i brought my switch to work for the first time in a very long time i'm like i think i just might be playing yeah this is the person

4:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Ghost of Yote. I'm sorry that I can't make time. Yeah, I know. And I was playing Sonic Racing Crossroads. I was struggling three games. Yeah.

4:41Tim Gettys:I mean, three equally good games, potentially.

4:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Potentially.

4:44Tim Gettys:We'll see.

4:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hades 2 review happening right after this on Gamescast. Ghost of Yote review coming at you tomorrow. Oh, shit. Yeah, you can say that. I like the PlayStation does that. Are you going to play Ghost of Yote? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I'm going to play it. Fair enough. For now, let's talk about a game that we may or may not play with Final Fantasy Tactics. It always feels like Christmas. It always feels like Christmas. Oh, my gosh. I can't wait.

5:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Are we ordering pizza? I've had so much pizza this week. I don't want pizza.

5:53Tim Gettys:Yeah, we got to figure out a second option because we always do pizza. We always go to pizza. It's like we were at Wingstop. Well, not Wingstop. Buffalo Bobbins for a minute. What is the,

6:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:for like a week we did left wing. Do you remember left wing? It was like the Korean. You did left wing. You made it happen. I put Greg on and Greg loved it. And I was like, let's fucking go. But then it felt like people weren't on it.

6:13Tim Gettys:Yeah.

6:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Tacos.

6:14Tim Gettys:Tacos is a good one, honestly. I think you just get, you know what you do? And this is maybe not an exciting one, but I think we should do it. Yeah. It's just Chipotle. You just do the catering. You just order a bunch of things and you just make tacos. Cause I was going to throw out there. What if we did a healthy option? Yeah. Honestly, I think it's not a bad idea.

6:27Andy Cortez:You just make your own tacos. You do the thing.

6:29Tim Gettys:It's not too expensive.

6:30Andy Cortez:I think it's not bad. All right. Try to pitch that to Snowbike Mike and see if he's going to look at me crazy.

6:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We got to disregard his opinions. Yes, we do. I think when it comes to what we're ordering, we got to disregard.

6:42Tim Gettys:Him and Andy, because they're just going to order whatever they want.

6:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Did you watch Gamescast yesterday? No. It was very concerning. You should watch it. Because early on in the episode, you see Kevin Coelho walks out with two large cups of coffee, puts them down in front of coffee or chai uh chai yeah like some kind of yeah it's white right yeah yeah i didn't see what the drink it's just chai latte's yeah uh but either way put up put in front of him two large cups to which i was like oh mike got one for him maybe one for nick or one for somebody else at the table mike then proceeds to take a sip out of the one in his right hand and then a sip out of the one in his left hand which shocked me yeah yeah this is normal this

7:23Tim Gettys:is normal. This is not normal.

7:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, this might be normal for him. This is not normal.

7:28Tim Gettys:Gregory James Miller.

7:29Andy Cortez:I was making breakfast today and I ran through all this on my head because what you're leaving out, of course, is that Mike also had three dinners that night where he went to In-N-Out, didn't like the burger tastes or the three slices he said he had of it. You and me made eye contact when he said slices of the burger. We didn't understand what he meant. Then he ordered sushi on DoorDash. Then he ordered Outback Steakhouse. No, Michael. Here's the problem. It's all fun and games. It's all fun and games. And I understand like there's all there's you're his closest friend. Yeah. Like his friend. Yeah.

8:04Andy Cortez:If we need to have an intervention, we need to have an intervention.

8:06Tim Gettys:Oh, but here's the issue is that I pulled him aside. I had the intervention and then he made a content immediately. He was like, he goes on the holiday stream. He's like, you want to hear what the slap he said to me in the parking lot?

8:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We got to figure it out. How do you feel about healthy options for... I heard your idea, yes. Chipotle. I do like the Chipotle idea. I think that's the smallest thought I did. I feel like it was being in the middle. Everybody loves Chipotle. Yeah, exactly. Except for when they infect people. Remember that? All the best restaurants feed that, though.

8:36Tim Gettys:Yeah, it happens to everybody. Jack in the Box. It makes it good. You can't remember that. Yeah, that's why they're not in New York anymore.

8:41Andy Cortez:Yeah, that's why I remember hearing about that in Chicago. We're like, thank God I've never heard of this little burger place.

8:45Tim Gettys:Oh, my God. Jack in the Box? Yeah. Destroyed my dad's life. because it was his number one burger place because he would get the tacos there and then for years it was his it was his moby dick it was his white whale he was chasing he would make tacos at home that were that were that were like the jack-in-the-box thing yeah i want to make the when i went to san francisco for the first time we didn't eat anywhere else other than jack

9:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:jesus christ that one downtown or whatever yeah exactly yeah they were like hey here's all these

9:09Tim Gettys:amazing burrito places uh after we visited ig and they're like my dad was like nope we will be

9:13Andy Cortez:going to jack-in-the-box yeah that jack-in-the-box when we visited here before we moved here we went to the bathroom and the sign that says employees must wash hands before going out. Underneath it was the square where the soapbox used to be with no soap replacement. That's the seasoning right there. I didn't write it in but Greg is going to be me unboxing the Ghost of Yote PlayStation 5.

9:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's exciting. Some more housekeeping for you if you're a kind of funny member. Like Greg said he's going to be unboxing Ghost of Yote PS5. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. Today we're brought to you by Shady Racing Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is, and forever will be, the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have seven stories today.

10:09Andy Cortez:A Baker's Dozen!

10:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I also realized we didn't even call it out for the live viewers. We're up early. We started this show at 9. 9.30 a.m. Because of the state of play, we moved everything up 30 minutes so that we can live react to that. So that's why we're live this early. So let people know as they enter into the chat at 10 a.m. And they're like, whoa, they're already halfway through the show.

10:29Tim Gettys:Yeah, you've missed 10 minutes of nothing. You're already here.

10:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Story number one. Final Fantasy Tactics Evil East Chronicles reviews are out. I got a roundup for you. On Metacritic, it is sitting at an 88.

10:40Tim Gettys:What's in an OpenCritic lesson?

10:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:An 88. Oh. It's sitting at an 88 on both Metacritic and OpenCritic. Let's start off. Thank you.

10:50Andy Cortez:Thank you, Barrett. You'll break 100 points this year, Roger. I'm proud of you.

10:54Tim Gettys:Oh, he's still talking shit. He's still talking shit. When he's wrong, he's still salty. Pull up the fantasy critic.

11:01Andy Cortez:Let's do it. Why are you doing it? Because I have some heaters.

11:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I got some heaters. I don't know, Barrett, if you're the one to talk. Because you're the one, Barrett. You're the one talking shit about this game. You were saying he was on that train, too. You get me and Tim were like, I don't know the art style.

11:15Andy Cortez:is like not looking great. Yeah, but you know,

11:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I was on the train, but you were the loudest. You're the conductor.

11:20Tim Gettys:You're the one saying all aboard and I was just in the passenger seat. Okay, we got Ghost of Yotei still out. I haven't played that. I don't know. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. I think that's going to be 85, 88 potentially. Keeper. That's going to be solid. That's going to be solid. You have a great roster here. This was a huge one. I picked this up this weekend. Y 'all don't even know about Ball Pit. I don't know about Ball Pit. I've been keeping this on the DLDL. This game's going to be fucking huge. I'm just putting it out there. We don't even need to talk about it. Just want to put that out there.

11:47Tim Gettys:Ball pit's going to be funny.

11:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Can I tell you, if you didn't counterpick Expedition 33, you would have such a strong team right now. The picks you have are really great. Can you go to mine? Because, man, I was looking great in the middle of the year, and now that we're this deep into it, here's the problem. What is up with Mixtape and Possessors? Tough. Mixtape doesn't have a release date, and Greg was singing that game's praises. And what is up with Possessors?

12:13Tim Gettys:and my counterpick wait what about oh you're counterpicked for mixtape yeah so i can't i

12:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:can't drop mixtape now possessors i have a lot of faith in however is it coming out this year

12:21Andy Cortez:because where's the release date never never that's the developer for hyper light breaker and shit right like they're doing like way too much like that game's not coming out yeah never

12:29Tim Gettys:trust devolver until they put a an actual date because they love doing the thing at the end of the year where they do the delay showcase they do they like doing that seems like a perfect one to

12:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:be there oh man i mean the website does say come to pc and consoles in 2025 i gotta figure out how to drop that uh i think i still have a free drop but then the question is do i even have money no you can pick up so i mean i have five dollars less than two dollars yeah you got it you're done and i forget if i set the rule so that you have to spend at least one dollar or not

12:59Tim Gettys:i can double check sassy tooth stay here in the chat says uh the ball pit demo blew me away it's gonna hit this game is the demo is out people are obsessed with it it is basically a it's a roguelite where it's like ball breaker uh or or yeah breakout breakout brick breaker or breakout brick breaker whatever you know the one where you fucking shoot out the balls yeah show us the gameplay if you have if you have a second it's awesome this game's incredible also i don't know

13:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:what they misheard uh mericolam calamaniac in chat said uh did bless say mixtapers racist no no i didn't i like mixtape i'm looking forward to that video game yeah i don't want false narratives out there sorry i know we're gonna bring a ball pit yeah this is awesome and the

13:41Tim Gettys:demo's out right now um and the uh progression continues so you can bring it over to the main game this game is is like vampire survivors it's it's scratching that itch for me uh and it's just

13:52Andy Cortez:it's really deep and it's huge and is that coming out uh next month wow is this a devolver game yeah this game's gonna hit yeah this shit looks good and you'll hit 100 points oh yeah yep yep and i

14:04Tim Gettys:want and i want when i hit 100 points for him to be like you're only gonna hit 110 points

14:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i mean like that's what's it's always gonna move the move the move the goalpost let's hop into some of these reviews for you ronnie barrier at ign gave it a 9 out of 10 and says the next time i come back to replay my all-time favorite video game final fantasy tactics the evil east chronicles is the version I'll be reaching for. Its fantastic story of intrigue and betrayal, mixed with one of the most satisfying RPG job systems around, have endured the test of time. This is a mostly by-the-book remake, and it can't quite be called a complete or definitive edition due to not including all content from all versions and not doing enough to address the endgame imbalances of the original.

14:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But sometimes, less is more. Stripping away the cruft of Final Fantasy tactics while servicing what made it special through smart UI tweaks, convenience features and excellent new voice acting brings it almost completely up to date it reminded me of why it was so amazing in the first place and allows me to confidently recommend it to newcomers without making excuses for the original's 1990s creakiness pj o'reilly at nintendo life also gave it a 9 out of 10 and says yes final fantasy tactics the evil east chronicles cuts content from the war of the lions version and it's a shame however put this one issue aside if you can and you've got a fantastic and fantastically thoughtful revamp otherwise meaningful quality of life changes meld with with delicate gameplay nips and tucks cpu enemy tune-ups and a smoother flowing experience overall to deliver a game that's pretty much impossible to knock fans will be fully absorbed into the story all over again enjoying the new flow of the narrative and experiencing the whole thing so wonderfully well acted newcomers who are less likely to be bothered by the missing content well they can just get busy lapping up one of the of the all-time great tactical rpgs looking uh and playing better than ever and then lastly i got one from ollie barter at forbes who also gave it a 9 out of 10 and says overall final fantasy tactics is still the brilliant tactical role-playing game i thoroughly enjoyed playing at the end of the 90s this new and updated hd remaster in the form of the evil east chronicles is a welcome edition especially for newer players but it's the original game that makes this collection so very special oh yeah i am so happy that people are getting these games right like yeah the versions of like their favorite game from the snes or ps1 era right being redone and remade in a way that

16:30Tim Gettys:like does it just in ways that they probably would have never thought could happen with full voice acting like yeah that is that is really important for a game like this and and to have it be so apparently thoughtfully done and actually like part of the game um in a way that feels meaningful is is really exciting here yeah the the big thing that i was a little bit scared of when it was coming to drafting it and also the release of it excuse me is the war of the lion stuff yeah where i know that was i believe the psp remake or re-release of uh this game they added on new content but then with this uh remake they were like listen like it's cool stuff but it's not what the original version was supposed was going for and we want to kind of go towards you know really honing in on what that game was supposed to be so they cut it out and i know there was a little bit of hoopla behind it but it seems like at least the reviewers did not seem like it was missing too much and also the art style doesn't seem to affect them as much uh maybe when you play it for longer periods of time the art style kind of washes over you as we're

17:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:seeing gameplay pop up on screen i'm still not in love with the art style but i think maybe once you jump into it you don't see it on a big screen you actually play it for a while yeah and also i think i'm just so i i'm still in the phase of being impressed by like the hd 2d stuff and so like every single time i see a pixel art rpg rpg um being remade or brought back i'm always like i'll put it in that hd 2d yeah give me that give me those sprites but you know i'm this is one that again i'm glad to seeing the reception uh reading the reviews i'm like damn dude i are you a tactics person um i can be i live alive uh i don't remember that one that one came out a few years ago tactics game yeah like i didn't know that well the the combat style it's like turn-based but you are on a grid yes and so it is like the placement and stuff like that right so i i think for me it's the it's the thing where tactics isn't my go-to genre by any means in fact that's one of the ones where i'm like all right but you give me i've said this before you give me a banger in any genre i'll try it out and i'll probably fall in love with it and so i in fact i think i get more enticed when something is in a genre that i'm not usually like that deep into because i get to experience something new and fresh uh how long is this game i'm assuming

18:44Tim Gettys:this is a long one i mean i know the the remake version of it i've heard that they cut things and they made it a little bit more streamlined but i'm assuming this game is as hell long but i

18:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:would i would i would love for you to try if i had to put out a time if i'm guessing if i'm doing the kind of feudy or it's a game showdown you know numbers game i'm gonna say 30 hours if you're

19:02Tim Gettys:looking up how long it is 39 hours 39 and a half hours main story uh another one that i want to

19:07Andy Cortez:bring up this from uh rolling stone hayes madsen's review uh because i've always heard about the story yeah of tactics and uh this quote here but more importantly is the fact that tactics is uh message feels more applicable to life in america than any other game this year tactic story isn't just to enjoy it wants you to remember that resistance in the face of oppression isn't just possible but vital that each and every one of us has a role to play in standing up against authoritarian powers that want to exploit our differences for their own gain which i've always heard about like the the the story being very special in uh tactics so yeah just shout that

19:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:out as well i was watching um a gameplay video this morning and yeah there's a scene where the main character talks to another character and they're like what type of american are you oh really yeah and i was like damn that's real that's real you know i've never watched civil war yeah you reference it a lot i reference that scene a lot because that scene in the trailer kills me every single time shout out jesse plemmons shout out jesse plemmons i love jesse also alex garland uh i want to bring in a super chat unrelated from rogue 930 who writes in and says for those who have played hades 2 in early access are you starting fresh when 1.0 launches like andy i have played over 80 hours as of now so i have been i've been going back and forth on starting from scratch um what i'll say is that i didn't start from scratch i thought i was going to because i didn't realize that the save carried over i somehow i missed that detail and so when i started the game and saw my save was still there i was like oh let's go but then i also was like well i've not played in like over a year and so am i gonna forget things do i need a refresh and then i just started playing i was like you're back in it's so fine yeah no i'm back in i i am

20:43Andy Cortez:kind of lost because i was in a similar situation right i started it up and i was like fuck i I remember, I forget what my relationships were with all of these different people at the home base and stuff, but shout out really quick to how easy it was to bring over my early access save from Steam over to my Switch 2. Oh, shit, I was going to say, I didn't think you could do that. Okay, you can do it. You can link your, like in Hades 2, when you launch it up on Switch 2, you can link your Steam account, and then it just carries over. So the stuff I played a year and a half ago or whatever, it's just all there.

21:15Tim Gettys:Wow, that's awesome. wish that other indie games maybe one that has a you know horn in it. A song of silk? Yeah a song of silk in it would be able to do that. Come on let me do that. Let me do that. I saw. So I can use my PC so I can make the game easier.

21:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Dude I would like that just because it's scared. Is Silksong on Switch 1? Yes it is. Because really I just want to play that on an OLED screen. Wow. Yeah. What? You want to play it on your Switch

21:42Tim Gettys:1?

21:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. You didn't throw it away and put it in a fire after you got the switch to no i mean i've not i've not picked it up since i got my switch to but silksong is like i think the type of game where i'm like i kind of want to play this on oled that's crazy and i have it on my steam deck but like i'm like man i need to get the steam deck oled really is what it comes down just the switch one in general just dead to me i refuse yeah but i acknowledge it it stays out until they make the switch to oled i don't feel is the screen that bad i think it's great no but old is like better but if you tricked me

22:12Tim Gettys:and you told me this is OLED, I believe you. I have somebody that has an LG OLED that's, you know, fucking five feet away from my face all night. I know OLED. Roger, you're a crazy person.

22:22Andy Cortez:I think it's a good screen.

22:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like, y 'all, like, you and Tim.

22:26Tim Gettys:Do you have an OLED TV? No. But I have an OLED Switch 1,

22:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and I know that it looks different. All right? I talked to Tim Geddes,

22:34Tim Gettys:and he was like, yeah, it's really good.

22:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I know that the colors pop. I love how my games look on Switch 1. On my Switch 1 OLED. I also saw somebody earlier in chat. say Blessing needs to play Fire Emblem. I do. This is what I'll propose to you, Roger, and to you, Barrett. What if 2026 is the year of tactics? Tactical 2026. Think about it.

22:56Tim Gettys:Tactical 2026. It does seem like we're rising up. Tactical 2026. It does seem like we are rising up. What are you doing on the 6th of the first year? Why not? You know?

23:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Why not both? Tactics. Tactical 2026. Fire Emblem, right? Fire Emblem, yeah. Fire Emblem will lead the charge. Yeah, new Fire Emblem. New Fire Emblem. I don't know if there's any other tactical game.

23:15Tim Gettys:Does the new Star Wars game count? That's Star Wars. That's a tactic scene, right? Kind of. That's like an XCOM thing?

23:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, yeah. XCOM is tactical. And I've always wanted to play XCOM. Oh, XCOM is fun. You should play XCOM. Tactical 2026. I don't like this. Think about it. I'm just going to put it out there. In 2026. I should yes and you? I'm not. In 2026, starting in January. But like, when we get back from vacation. So probably sometime around the 6th of January. says Disgaea Disgaea 7 complete edition Switch 2 I did play 13 Sentinels and I loved it and that is kind of tactical yeah let's move on to story number two Yakuza Kiwami 3 is coming next year with new Dark Ties story expansion this is Marcus Stewart at Game Informer like a dragon developer RGG Studios held its RGG Summit live stream where it announced that 2009's Yakuza 3 is finally getting the kiwami remake treatment not only that but the game is getting a new story expansion called dark ties the two experiences we bundled together in a package dubbed yakuza yakuza kiwami 3 and dark ties kiwami 3 like the previous titles is a ground-up remake of yakuza 3 that features improved graphics and reworked brawling gameplay such as the ability to swap between two fighting styles kiwami 3 also features a new team battle mode called legendary baddie bad boy dragon i knew

24:34Tim Gettys:a legendary baddie once i mean you're making the joke yeah like if you yeah read the next sentence

24:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:players work together to build a biker game to file wait players work together to build a biker gang to fight alongside the ryukyu gal gang of female bikers to protect okinawa yeah you're

24:51Tim Gettys:making a joke that's exactly what it was oh it's a bunch of baddies and now for some reason kiryu is like the lead of these baddies and he's like the protector of them and like they just go in

25:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:these massive team battles it is insanity that's sick dark ties is a standalone story expansion starring yakuza 3 antagonist yoshitaka mine set in keimarocho it serves as a prequel to yakuza 3's events that tells mine's origin story and how and why he joined the yakuza yakuza kiwami 3 and dark ties launches on february 12 2026 for ps5 xbox switch 2 ps4 and pc roger wow uh we knew

25:28Tim Gettys:about kwami 3 that was leaked online yep i can't imagine how excited rgg was that that was the only thing that leaked dark ties being uh a part of this and they kept on saying this is a new game within uh kwami 3 it's a dual pack video game uh for the one price and having dark ties be its own thing and it is not a dual protagonist video game necessarily you're not switching between them and it's not part of one larger story it is a separate experience but it being a separate prequel for the antagonist of yakuza 3 gives it a lot of meaning for fans but it also gives honestly a way in for newcomers who want to just play a standalone experience right you absolutely from what i'm gathering here can just play dark ties by itself if you just want to kind of see what the vibes are of yakuza for probably what i assume is a smaller more serious experience that you then can parlay into either playing yakuza 3 kwami or going back and playing zero or whatever it is.

26:26Tim Gettys:Any time we have an entry point into the franchise that is not just Zero, I think is for the better. So Dark Ties being included here, huge surprise and really exciting here.

26:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hell yeah. Well, Roger, that's not all for Yakuza news because story number three, Yakuza Zero Director's Cut, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 are coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is Chris Skolian at VGC. RGG has confirmed that the three Yakuza games currently associated with Switch 2 are also coming to other formats. Zero Director's Cut, Kiwami, and Kiwami 2 will all be coming to PS5, Xbox, and Steam, the studio has announced. Zero Director's Cut is an enhanced version of Yakuza 0, which was released as a Switch 2 launch title, exclusive to Nintendo's console. Kiwami and Kiwami 2 remakes of the first two games in the series were originally released in 2016 and 2017.

27:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Both remakes have been released on PS4 and Xbox One, and can therefore be played on current-gen platforms via backward compatibility. however with both games coming to switch 2 on the 13th on november 13th rgg has decided that other formats shouldn't be left out meaning kiwami and kiwami 2 will be coming to ps5 and xbox a month later on december 8th the same day as yakuza 0 director's cut a lot of yakuza stuff yeah yakuza

27:39Tim Gettys:0 director's cut coming out on different uh platforms makes a lot of sense i mean that's a they put a lot of work into that one they added uh english vo they added whole new modes multiplayer stuff like that was inevitably going to go everywhere so yeah overall if you uh bear if you have a quick second can you look up the rgg direct because i just want to show you how cool this is like the coolest people ever are working on these games and like i mean you have to be cool to work what you imagine they like their vibes are it's exactly what you think it is like it's just the coolest people in the world like red lighting like they're recording this in like some type of like sake lounge like oh my god if you can skip ahead to the second guy like it's so fucking sick uh but yeah i watched this last night and it's great stuff and it's surprised a little bit because uh rgg is working on so much stuff uh virtual fighter uh they're working on stranger than heaven yeah they're working on so many games so the fact that they're focusing in on yakuza for the 20th anniversary of course but uh it makes a lot of sense yeah it's just so cool

28:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:they're the most people in the world yeah i was surprised i was expecting to hear some more uh virtual fighter news and it seems like we got nothing out of the out of this and then also stranger than heaven did have a segment where they showed like a little bit of behind the scenes

28:45Tim Gettys:yeah towards the ending yeah it's like a little teaser of like hey this is the next uh big thing that we're working on which i think is sick yeah here uh we're showing it um but yeah kwami 3 is much needed we talked about this i believe last week of like the rumors and where we were at with that uh but the whole thing with with yakuza 3 from what i've gathered is that that game's awesome the combat's pretty bad so or or not as beloved as the other um yakuza entries so the fact that they have now added two separate uh fighting stances they have kind of brought it up to the snuff of where the rest of the yakuza franchise is and they're also changing a lot of the story fine-tuning stuff and making sure that the performances are redone this all sounds like a huge win i'm excited i haven't played yakuza uh three so this is my first time i'm very excited

29:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:very very excited i guess there hasn't been a modern way to experience it no so what about what's the most modern version of yakuza 4 uh yakuza 4 is it just yakuza 4 yeah because it feels like they're doing their best to try and make the entire series we're gonna go all the way in a modern way yeah hopefully that's really cool it's really cool stuff so hell yeah i'm excited i'm excited to get my hands on it plus oh yeah somebody in chat was like what if we made it um made 2026 the year of yakuza bless maybe i don't i've tried okay yeah we've said it several

29:58Tim Gettys:times i tried yeah i mean how about how i want to play strangers when do you try out it's tough because i i want you to play zero and i think that's so fun i think you would love zero if you just put your time into it you would love it but also depending on how good dark ties is you might want to play dark ties i'm waiting for zero because the pitch behind this one which i think is such a fucking melodramatic and insane pitch is i don't know who this guy is mine i don't know this character right apparently he's the bad guy yakuza 3 but he is a the head of a company he's like a millionaire head of like some business in a traditional like actual business like a legal business in japan he gets kicked out of his company because of some fucking boardroom drama they just it's a succession shit right they kick him out and then he sees when he's on the street um a yakuza situation he sees like all of the yakuza like protecting their leader and then he just is like a bystander he sees this that go down with uh daigo and then he be his next new mission is that he wants to be part of the yakuza because he sees loyalty and he sees cool he sees everybody like actually there for one purpose and like loyalty and they actually care about each other and he he wants that he doesn't want money he doesn't want power he wants loyalty and it's love that dude that's pretty sick i actually fuck and it's like really dark and he's like it's like the first time they've had like a true like anti-hero as the main protagonist like we've had majima but like honestly majima is just a good guy in yakuza zero like this is a true like this guy might be bad and you're playing as him and it's it's solid i think yakuza as a franchise

31:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:might always be my white whale of like the thing that i'd want to get into but it's not that hard to get into though it really is i like if you play zero it's you're in you're done i bang here's the thing people said that about seven people said that about eight no i'm telling no everyone no

31:34Tim Gettys:no one says it about this people say it about zero just play for all the ones that i've tried

31:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:um chat super chat you know what next year should be the year of what is next year the year of it don't you dare say gta 6 because we know all right that's not happening but around gta what do you mean gta 6 not happening gta 6 don't you put that out there in the world all right you watch your mouth what is gta 6 2027 rolls off the tongue it kind of no it doesn't i was gonna say it kind of does no it doesn't um right in what year next next year is the year of digimon ready cooper says uh for now though i want to tell you about patreon.com slash kind of funny and youtube.com slash kind of funny games where we can get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free speaking of ads let us tell you about our sponsors this episode is brought to you

34:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we're back. i want to pull up some super chats for you john alexander writes in and says i think we get a release date for mixtape today at the state of play i didn't get it yesterday at or didn't get it yesterday at annapurna showcase still slated for 2025 um i think if we don't see it today then i gotta figure out how to drop it for my fantasy critic and i can't fuck yeah because i

34:55Andy Cortez:i also had the feeling i was like i don't know that game's coming out this year looks sick as hell though.

35:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Who is publishing possessors? That's what I want to know. Devolver. Okay, so I mean, yeah. I guess that's another one where if we don't see it today Delayed. Where I'm kicking that off by fantasy critics.

35:10Andy Cortez:Do you have a free kick? Yeah, I don't think I've dropped anything yet. Oh, wow. I would say drop possessors. What would you say? I would say drop possessors.

35:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, we'll see after today.

35:22Tim Gettys:Mike has a pickup. You drop it, gets it announced.

35:26Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, drop it right now. Mike picks it up and you guys announce it at the state of play that'd be awesome everything processes on saturday anyway uh story number four days before release borderlands 4 is indefinitely delayed on switch 2 this is andy robinson at vgc gearbox has indefinitely delayed the release of borderlands 4 on switch 2 just one week ahead of its planned october 3rd release date announcing news on social media the developer said it had decided the switch 2 version needs additional development time and that it does not take this decision lightly it did not provide an explanation for why the decision has been made so close to the Switch 2 version's planned release, but it does say all digital pre-orders will now be canceled in accordance with Nintendo eShop policy.

36:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Quote, We need to share that the release of Borderlands 4 on Switch 2 is being delayed, the statement reads. Quote, We do not take this decision lightly, but are committed to ensuring we deliver the best possible experience to our fans, and the game needs additional development and polished time to do that. Our hope is to also better align this release with the addition of cross saves, which we are working on and recognize is very important. We'll update you all on the new release timing once we've fully adjusted our plans. End quote. That sounds real bad.

36:40Tim Gettys:Yeah, that doesn't sound good at all.

36:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Sounds real, real bad.

36:42Tim Gettys:Yeah, I wonder why it was lit. I wonder what... I mean, game-breaking bug, you imagine? Sure. Didn't people play it at some event and they were like, it didn't run well?

36:52Andy Cortez:But also, didn't it launch on, like, PCs and not run well? Yeah, absolutely.

36:58Tim Gettys:I was making a joke. Yeah, it's performance. Performance is the issue here.

37:02Andy Cortez:No, we'll find it. Randy is going to come out, and he's going to give us all the answers, and it's somehow going to be your fault.

37:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, it's going to be our fault. Why don't you buy a Switch 2? Why don't you buy a Switch 2? You thought you were going to play Borderlands. You're not going to play Borderlands. It's a premium game for premium gamers. This is a little tablet. You're not going to play Borderlands on a tablet. like this i know we announced it but like why'd you believe it it's your fault i'm a magician not

37:26Tim Gettys:a miracle worker yeah this shit wouldn't happen uh the the wild thing about this yeah it's a week out and then also i saw somewhere that if you delay a game on on any of these shops i know specifically on the e-shop it just cancels all pre-orders yes yeah yeah they mentioned that okay

37:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:gotcha my bad and which is crazy yeah because like you would think that for um 2k and for gearbox right it's like hey we got to keep this pre-order oh yeah you know what i mean or maybe those pre-orders just weren't oh or maybe the pre-orders were how many people are actually pre-ordering berlin's four on a switch too i don't know yeah but i would think the last thing you want to do is let go of people who have already bought into buying the thing and so yeah for them to delay it especially this late in the game oh so it's something rough something definitely too

38:09Tim Gettys:no date on it no yeah uh yeah i i wonder when if it comes out even this year i wonder if it comes out oh interesting yeah i mean yeah because i think they have the only i was trying to look for physical stuff and it seems like there is one but it's just a game key card right so that doesn't mean too much but i mean still it is a physical thing that they have to make so i don't know if they've already produced those or whatever that looks like but yeah interesting stuff cloud version it's funny that'd be awesome oh i see we released it it's in the cloud it's out it's out right you

38:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:thought you're gonna play this on your machine no just put it on the vita buy a 58 on the vita A little bit earlier on on that, too. Let's move on to story number five.

38:46Tim Gettys:Dammit, Thame!

38:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Ladies, gentlemen, NBs, we got a preview for you. A Pokemon preview. A Pokemon Zeta A preview coming at you from the one, the only, Tim Ma-Buggin-Geddies. What a day it is. Oh, my God. We got previews of Pokemon Zah, reviews of Hades 2, a state of play. is today the day that we get Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3? Is it? I mean, I didn't even think about that. I know it's crazy. I was thinking of like as I was driving into work today, I was like, what is the most get hype thing for me? Like, what is the most like, I don't expect it to be there, but it possibly could. Honestly, I'm with you. They do be announcing these Final Fantasy 7 remake games like back and back.

39:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's been a while. It has been a year and a half. Almost. Come on. Yeah. Tell me about Pokemon. Oh, let me tell you about Pokemon. I got to go to Paris, Paris, France. That's why I was there. I couldn't say that until now. That's how embargoes work. Very weird. No way we couldn't say that until now. No, no, no, no. Yeah, I did a whole Pokemon Go thing, but that was separate from Pokemon Zah. I did get to play Pokemon ZA for an hour. This is the longest anyone's been able to play it thus far. There's the 10-minute demo, 20-minute demo that Gamescom and PAX goers got to do. This one is different.

40:06It was a full hour. essentially broken up into four different chunks, I would say. One of them was the wild area, which is kind of just the more Roman catch and Pokemon battling the wild guys that are just around. Then getting into the ZA Royale, which is when night hits, you're going through kind of this like cool dark alley. They're not really dark alleys. All the alleys look exactly the same. Fighting a bunch of the different trainers to get your rank up. That's where the Z day. Exactly. And then once you get enough points, you then get to actually face off against somebody that's officially ranked in the Z to A.

40:43And that was thrilling. Real big fan of that. Then we got to do one of the Rogue Mega Evolution Pokemon battles, which is like the bigger raid type things where it's you and a couple others facing off against bigger dudes. I faced off against a Mega Victory Bell that was as horrifying looking as it was in the original debut trailer that it featured in. And then after that, we kind of got to go back to the wild area. But with the experience that we had with the other three sections, so it kind of really reframed my first time playing that part just because I had a much better understanding of how the battle system works.

41:23Because let me tell you this, Bless. This game is not what you expect in a lot of ways. And the preview that I did was absolutely not what I expected. um this preview very much felt like a message to games media that like this ain't your father's pokemon like and you look at it and you're kind of like all right cool it's active combat right very different from the turn base we're used to seeing uh but you can't see because my stupid face is blocking it but you have your little your moves in the bottom right yeah they're kind of like tied to the face buttons and has that kind of mmo style battle like with the cooldowns for the moves and you know from what we've seen from the trailers and stuff we can kind of put together like what it would feel like to play and it would feel kind of button mashy to an extent of just like wait for the cooldown to go and then you just uh just keep going yep if you do that you're gonna lose like this game is i don't want to say it's hard but it's way harder than i expected the wild pokemon and the things you're facing off against are using way more status moves than i I would have expected way more than I've even really experienced in a Pokemon game in 30 years.

42:31Wow. Where like they're using things to lower defense and higher strength. They're growling at you. They're growling and it's, it's cool. And it incentivizes you to immediately think differently and be on your feet. There's also a lot more depth to the battles and the attacks than I expected. There are plus moves for a bunch of moves. So in addition to having like bite, I don't know this exactly, but yeah, yeah. But bite has it next to it. You see the little plus that you can use your mega evolution energy your mega energy instead of mega evolving pokemon which when you do that uh all of your moves become the plus versions you can just use some of the uh gauge to have just plussed up attacks or plussed up versions of your attacks which could be coming really clutch when you're uh facing off against some of the pokemon because one of my favorite moments of the the demo was you're in the wild area you're kind of going around catching a bunch of the little dudes uh fighting them here and there it's very fluid like uh legends rcs was where you can just walk around and throw a ball without battling them but battling them obviously makes it easier to wear them down and then throw the ball um but i came across a bunch of little uh uh hound doors yeah and little little dogs the dark dogs from uh gen 2 and i was fucking these things up but then their mom came oh no and uh the hound doom and she fucked my day up and she came through and was just ripping my Pokemon apart.

43:57And I'm like, oh my God, I am not leveled up enough for this. And I had to kind of go back, come back at her. I eventually took her down, but it was like a genuine surprise. And there was a fear. Plus when this thing started running at me, I'm like, you were way too fast for me right now. But yeah, it was way more like active than I expected. I thought it was going to be active battle, but still kind of like a chill experience.

44:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Like I'm just pushing buttons to do this. It was way more of like, I'm locked into this. And it, it, I hate to say this, but I have to say it. It gave you that feeling where you're like, I feel like I'm in the anime. Like, I feel like I'm actively calling out, like do this. Your trainer's running around too, to dodge the attacks. I was like, I kind of fuck with this heavy. Like it was way more impressive and way more fun than I expected going in. So, yeah, I'm coming away very high on this, which I kind of expected to like it. But I'm like, oh, there's there's really something here. Is there between the sections that you experienced, right?

44:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The wild area, the dark alleys and then fighting the rogue Pokemon. Did you have a favorite? It really was a cumulative experience of like being able to do them back to back and just kind of like learning the systems and how I was very happy with how much more I enjoyed the wild area. coming back to it after getting a better understanding because yeah like the the hound doom kicked my ass and then i played these other bits when i came back i kicked its ass so does it does feel like there's a synergy between it does it really does and you know it's not perfect i i do want to know how long that the the thrill is going to to last until it just becomes like i know exactly what i'm doing and it just does just feel like i'm just hitting buttons and moving on um when you're in the zda royale section where you're kind of like trying to get all the points It functions very similarly to the blueberry points that they had in the second round of DLC for the Indigo Disc for Scarlet and Violet, where you're going around and doing a bunch of kind of like subtasks to gain enough points to move up the next level.

45:56So it'll be things like use five electric moves or, you know, use 10 status effects attacks or whatever. And it's like those different goals are like constantly shifting and changing. So you can pull up a menu and like you can kind of min max your way to get up to the next level a lot faster. And then going around the world, too, there's like a lot of items you can collect. There's a lot of like secret areas to go to. There's no fall damage. I jumped off a roof and I was totally fine. My little Rotom phone like brought me down. I'm trying to think of what else I need to hit on here. Performance wise, it ran well by it.

46:32It was we played it on switch too. And nothing about the performance or the sharpness of the visuals seemed off to me. It seems all right, cool. This is going to be great in the same way that Scarlet and Violet now on the switch to runs great. Very similar. I will say just visually, like I'm still not into this game. Like I really don't like the look of it. and this didn't sway me to change my opinion on that. I remember coming out of my preview the same way.

46:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't like the art style. Yeah, but I will say that one of the criticisms I have is just how every single building looks identical and being in Paris, I was like, oh, that's just how this place is. So they're very, very accurate. Does that make a good call to make your entire game in one city that every single street looks pretty much the same? Time will tell, you know? But yeah, I am coming out of this way less trepidatious than I was going in. And I do love just how different this feels to the core Pokemon games. But I feel like they're trying to not just try something different, but to like create a new mold of what Pokemon games, a different line of Pokemon games can be even more so than Legends Arceus.

47:50Like, because Legends of RFC still had the DNA of the Pokemon games. This, I feel like the act of battling is going to really, really, really hit for people.

48:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, yeah. Well, Tim, thank you so much for your preview. I'm more excited for this game coming out of this. Yeah. Here's Roger. Roger, get back over here. As we close out with story number six, the latest Mario Kart World update makes tracking its open world collectibles easier. This is Jordan Midler at Video Games Chronicle. a new update from mario kart world has released which adds a much requested feature to the game's open world exploration according to the version 1.3.0 patch notes mario kart world's map will now show the locations of p-switches and peach medallions on the in-game map rather than showing them all however it merely shows the ones players have already collected meaning they'll still have to explore to find new ones sure the update which is now out uh also makes other changes such as making it easier to encounter ufos in the game's free roam mode traditional lap courses will also now appear more frequently during online races man mario kart world barred in the back and you can hear it says just in time right like well it's cool for people yeah not that like people aren't playing mario kart world people will always be playing mario kart world because it's a mario kart game but i just find it no i just find the updates so interesting though yeah because they make updates that are this major this late in the game barrett steps

49:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:quality of life thing that like yeah i would have just expected to be there from the start yeah it's like a it is like a small thing i don't know it just seems weird i'm like all right cool

49:46Andy Cortez:they added this yeah so waiting for donkey kong dlc we'll get that we'll get that eventually will we uh roger hi mario car world i imagine at some point we'll get big updates no gigantic

50:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:updates huge updates the biggest but if i was something smaller say the tiniest news i need to know about where I'd go. Well, Blessing, you'll go to our last story,

50:10Tim Gettys:the Wii News Channel.

50:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We'll recover all the small news items you need to know about. Story number seven is Wii News. Hey! Annapurna announced three games yesterday. 50:57Tim Gettys:I gotta play this game.

50:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Stellar Blade?

50:59Tim Gettys:Yeah.

50:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:No, you don't.

51:00Tim Gettys:Okay.

51:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But I see the clips. I mean, if you see the clips and you're like, I want to play that, then yes, play it. because it is what it looks like and it is pretty good but also it's like i'm not looking at anybody being like oh go out your way to play stellar blade stellar blade 2 i feel like it's gonna be a banger when that drops though stellar blade 1 is such a good hey we set the table you know what i mean like we got something here it needs i it needs more i going on for like story and like i can see combat improvements that's fun though it's a it's a x-men whoa What's happening, Bear? Bear, is that playing?

51:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, no. It's happening today!

51:40Tim Gettys:It's happening today! Ah!

51:46Andy Cortez:Come on, Cole! Get ready! Are you ready, Bub? It's time! Wolverine today! PlayStation State of Life! You heard! A shirtless Spider-Man, Bub, was shirt-too-tight Wolverine! Jesus Christ

52:15I'm excited

52:17Tim Gettys:I'm excited for it not to be Did he shave? Yeah he did

52:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Man Cole is freaking out Cole was barking like he was a much bigger dog To the point where I started to get scared where I was like, is Cole going to come here and bite me?

52:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Jesus Christ. That was a lot. My heart is beating.

52:37Tim Gettys:Sure, too tight Wolverine, everybody.

52:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Wow.

52:39Tim Gettys:Sure, too tight Wolverine.

52:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Anyway, yeah, no. Stellar Blade is pretty good. I think they'll do better in the sequel. If you want to play it, you should play it, but it's not like a, you know, it's not a must play. Man, that took a lot out of me.

52:52Tim Gettys:Yeah, that took a few years off my lifespan.

52:55Andy Cortez:Batman Logan, someone said

52:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yep silly x poly beast uh launches this october on xbox and ps4 and ps5 and pc and then finally uh biped 2 launches november 5th on xbox uh ps4 ps5 and pc i played biped one i really like that biped game what is this it's like a little fun like puzzle platformery uh co-op game where you play the little robot what do you what you love a different life sometimes the other day i don't

53:24Tim Gettys:I don't want to spoil anything, but yeah. What are you doing? You're the last person who's allowed to ask me. What are you? You would play this. I get this. Yes, I would. Yeah. You're better than me. No. This is a good game. My iPad 1 is a good game. I don't want to spoil anything, but yeah, on another program that we pre-recorded, you told me about, what was the game you said that you played? Oh. It was the B? Tori. No, Tori. Yeah. Tori 2. Yeah, Tori 2. You're like, I played Tori 1. I have it on my Switch. I'm like, what are you talking about right now?

53:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, what's wrong with Tori 2? you doing what's happened right now listen and pardon me for trying to learn and play different and new games all right yes i'm glad you i'm glad you pardoned yourself is this is my job or not

54:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i just want to be i want to be in the musical and i want to play basketball at the same time is that too much to ask ate that uh that is it for we news let's take one more look at super chats before we get out of here um bob says did they restart borderlands 4 on switch that'll fix it i appreciate kebabs because bob's be be sassy sometimes they should be sassy sometimes sometimes all the time um sorry what did you say oh yeah people in the chat uh earlier were asking about

54:39Tim Gettys:like we news already i'm like yeah we sorry everybody we started 30 minutes early yes yes

54:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Those are people that came in a little late. Kevin T says, need your thoughts on the Animula Nook trailer in your own time. I respect your decisions and love you guys. My 10th anniversary shirt got here today. Hell yeah. Nice. I don't know what Animula Nook is, but I guess, Barrett, if we have the time.

55:03Andy Cortez:I think this was another possibly Annapurna title. Maybe something else.

55:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hold on. Hey, yo. Hold on.

55:12Tim Gettys:Hey, yo. okay art style uh oh no I'm a little scared okay visuals what's the end of this game

55:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:animal nook okay whimsical

55:25Andy Cortez:what's going on here like animal crossing

55:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I can't tell this seems like a

55:32Andy Cortez:gotcha

55:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:everything's animal crossing now I saw the art style I got excited I see the gameplay I know this very very pretty right now hold on we'll get joey on a stream for it maybe nick this is for sure an animal crossing what is but also like a visually stunning one though hold on it's called anim it's called animula nook that seems like tom nook that like tom nook and animals it's in the world of

56:02Tim Gettys:lilliputin which i don't know what oh it's a gulliver this travels things thing man y 'all be uh

56:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like Nintendo's gonna get fed up with y 'all y 'all are pushing Nintendo to the break

56:15Tim Gettys:no but this is a different thing this is in the world of Gulliver Travels

56:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you put Nook in the title

56:21Tim Gettys:they don't own the word Nook

56:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yeah but like it's very clearly an Animal Crossing

56:27Tim Gettys:but also like also Nintendo owns like the right to walk in a video game now so

56:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that's fair I'm also all four people making like I was gonna say spinoffs but I guess inspired games by other things just make more animal crossing do you think they go after this game first or the

56:42Andy Cortez:u.s government for using the pokemon this game for sure they're not gonna do anything about that

56:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:uh the nerdy giant writes in and says so curious with rumors about it about it haven whoa oh i see about haven being closed down grain of salt but do you think sony may change strategy for live service or abandon it altogether um i don't see them abandoning the strategy and i don't think it's a strategy that needs abandoning i think it's a strategy that yeah needs changing like strong changing from like an ethos perspective of what does life service mean to us life service can't be we're chasing after making hero shooters and we're chasing after making uh extraction and trying to like find a fortnight it can't be that it has to be what are the what are the niches slash what are the things that feel like we have fits for i think marvel talk on fighting souls i I know that's like not necessarily something that you necessarily look at and go, oh, that's a live service thing.

57:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But that's the game they're going to have. That's multiplayer online going to have DLC, could have a battle pass, could have ongoing support for that is going to have an audience. I think that's an inspired take on it. I look at games like a Gran Turismo or an MLB The Show, which I know are kind of in the conversation, kind of aren't in the conversation. But you have these things that are that kind of fit the mold that you can continue to support and can continue to update in these ways that I think get that done. And yeah, Helldivers as well. So I think it's just a changing of perspective and ethos as far as how you quote-unquote chase live service.

58:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think it's something that needs to happen naturally for franchises and games that kind of already have that built into it.

58:14Tim Gettys:Want to shout out Petite Sweet Treat, who gifted out five subs on Twitch. That's really great. Hell yeah. We don't usually call that out, but I want to shout you out because if you're over there, you can get free, no ads, so then you can watch our state of play live. So make sure to run up those Twitch subs and make sure that you're able to watch it without any interruptions.

58:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that is it for super chats let's hop into you're wrong rewrite in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong all right kebabs how do we block kebabs's name right yeah we might have to do that kebabs um let's see kazzy bay says blessed there's no modern way to experience yakuza 3 but yakuza 3 remastered is available on ps4 xbox one and steam that's a really great you're wrong that i wish kebabs could have gotten to because kebabs is over here being busy saying that next year is 2026. Kebabs, you know better. There are actual your wrongs that need to be righted. Next year is 2026. That's what they wrote in.

59:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's what she wrote in? Yeah, that next year is 2026. Because I asked, what is the year? What is next year going to be? What's the theme of next year? And she's in here getting sassy again.

59:19Tim Gettys:She made fun of the way I pronounced sake.

59:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:She also said, shirt too tight, Wolverine's shirt is loose. Come on, guys. Kebabs, you're on thin ice.
