In short

Aftermath of major Xbox-related layoffs and studio restructuring, plus a separate discussion of IO Interactive closing a studio while keeping Project Fantasy, and brief PlayStation social-media backlash.

Guests (hosts)

Blessing (AEA Jr) and Andy Cortez (Nitro Rifle). No other guests appear in the transcript.

Guest backgrounds

Blessing and Andy are long-running hosts of Kinda Funny Games Daily; they discuss gaming news daily and comment on industry labor impacts and platform strategy.

Key claims

  • Reports say Xbox layoffs gutted id Software: about 50% of employees laid off, with QA “decimated,” and LinkedIn posts corroborating.
  • Obsidian Entertainment reportedly lost ~25% of staff (about 60–70 people), including senior roles; remaining staff lack guidance on continuing projects.
  • Jill Braff/Bethesda restructuring focuses on major franchises (including Doom), implying layoffs even while Doom content ships.
  • IO Interactive closed its Istanbul studio; regained full ownership of Project Fantasy IP after an external finance partnership ended.

Notable examples

  • Concern that “scoping down” Doom/Obsidian projects could harm quality and studio culture.
  • IOI’s statement offering help finding new jobs for affected colleagues while Project Fantasy continues independently.

0:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:include we have more news on the studios hit by xbox layoffs i owner interactive closes a studio and a new report on xbox game pass numbers we'll have all this more because this is kind of funny games daily yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for tuesday july 7th 2026 i'm one of your hosts blessing at aea jr joining me is the nitro rifle andy cortez good morning blessing Good morning, Andy. What did you think of the old football last night? Don't get me started. It was heartbreaking. It was a tough one. It was tough. And here's the thing, right? Like, I'm somebody who roots for the USA during the World Cup because I grew up in the USA.

1:41And this year especially because they have Falarin Balogun, who is a Nigerian-American. I have pride in a Nigerian-American being a star of the team, right? I want to stand by him as a fellow Nigerian-American, even though there's controversy, even though there's potential corruption here and there. I actually don't know a story like that. I thought the whole thing was like, that's funny that they, you know. That he's not playing for Nigerian. Well, no, Trump made the call to, like, help out an immigrant. Oh, I mean, listen. You know, birthright citizenship, you're trying to throw it out the window.

2:14I mean, listen, as somebody who was born here and became a citizen because I was born here, like, fuck off. Shout out. Yeah, shout out. Turns out we're very valuable to this nation. but that's neither here nor there. I am heartbroken by the loss last night, but also I watched, I watched like half the game. I had to go to Oakland. You know me. Oh gosh. But I watched the first half and I was like, I had to go home to Oakland. I watched the first half and I was like, yeah, USA, they don't have it. Belgium was just playing way better than us the entire game. Like just if you look at the passing game, it was like USA was playing.

2:44It's like when I'm playing FIFA and I said it's easy mode. Like that's what, they look like CPUs playing on easy mode. Whereas whenever Belgium had the ball Their ball movement was so fucking accurate And precise and like clean We just didn't have it It was nice to give up on the game early However As somebody who's I'm not going to act like I Care about soccer on that level But I really really want to And I made a promise Or not a promise but a proposition to everybody And I said if you If you make me president Everybody should vote me for president Sure you know, workers' rights, you know, paternity leave, all that great stuff.

3:27Birthright citizenship. Birthright citizenship. All the good stuff, you know, universal health care. But another thing I would do is you want to play in, you're playing basketball and football. You're growing up in middle school, you know, peewee leagues. We will sponsor you to learn to play soccer. We will pay you to learn how to play soccer. You know, like sometimes work, you know, employers will say like, hey, we'll sponsor you. You know, you can go learn a different language and we'll kind of pay for the classes or whatever. Yeah. Like to whoever. Hey, we will pay you to go play soccer. Yeah.

4:00Learn how to play soccer. I want that. Right. Yeah. Wouldn't that be awesome? I think it would be really cool if one day we at least got to the semifinals of a World Cup. We just need. Yeah. But if we won it, if we ever won a World Cup, I think that changes American culture forever. I think if they get close, it changes American culture forever. like i think i just want this country to care about soccer i think it gets the youngins wanting to get into that you you need to inspire the youngins you know like here's the thing because like obviously here's the thing right world culture loves soccer right i think in a way to love soccer as an as an american makes you more connected to the world it's so heartwarming when i go visit my nephews in texas and my nephew's really into soccer love soccer and he's talking about when i'm over there he's talking about mbappe he's talking about ronaldo he's talking about messi and i'm like this is a kid of culture this is a kid that like thinks beyond learning about the world learning about the world like that's the beauty of soccer is that it brings us all together which is why i love the world cup so much because it brings all these countries together to play with each other you know have these moments where it's like mexico versus south korea and you see like this camaraderie between different cultures and rivalries and all that i think that's so beautiful but like the usa because we're the usa we fucking say no to everything and we have to be like oh soccer fuck that shit we don't care and i'm like no we can care one zero it sucks that's boring we can care yeah it's like no but it's a fun game um here's the thing mbappe is always gonna go he's always saying what's up to wendy they're from france they're always dapping each other up yeah i'm french now have you ever like gone and watched this mbappe videos of him speaking in english no there's the meme of like when he's speaking in french they call him the dictator because he's a fucking like he is on his shit he is serious like he has this persona of the dictator but when he's speaking in english he sounds like the sweetest man of all just a cuddly there was like a video of him teddy bear like i don't know who he was interviewing but it was like it seemed like a gq interview or some shit like that right and they're asking him um you know what do you like do in your free time he's like oh i'm learning how to cook and he's in the interview is like what's what's the mbappe special and he's like uh for example nothing and And the way he says it in the clip, obviously he's like, it's not what he meant to say.

6:13He's trying to say like, for the moment, nothing. But he says, for example, nothing. And he's smiling while saying it. And there's something just very funny and very sweet about this man who's trying his best. Shout out Mbappe. I fuck with Mbappe. I also fuck with, what's his name from Norway? Holland. Erling Holland. Erling Holland? Yeah. Oh my God. Have you seen this guy play? Yeah. He's a monster. I mean, he's, yeah, he's, he's the, like when LeBron was running back in his, at the height of his athleticism yeah like this guy's huge and he's the fastest person also yes insane to watch and also he's got to be a dream for an animator or an artist to draw he's just got a face that's like the most unique face i've ever seen ever it's like man i want to draw the shit out of you somebody said you are so drawable somebody says he looked like super boo from dragon oh yeah i can kind of has that kind of yeah so yeah shout out to the world cup of course world cup is making us happy soccer's cool man soccer's really cool also i love this picture of holland i also love holland because i'm seeing a lot of thirst after holland and i'm like good for you because he described his face as unique and he does have a unique face but he also has an aura to him where i get oh yeah i get people are thirsting after after this man and i'm like good for you man i can draw the fuck out of this dude yeah look at him you know what's not cool though blessing what's that just the stuff that's happening right now i know yeah today's episode is

7:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:going to be about the aftermath of all the xbox news that went down yesterday so let's get into it remember if you're watching live you can be a part of the show by super chatting over on youtube.com slash kind of funny games we couldn't do this without our producers over on patreon.com slash kind of funny so thank you to carl jacobs omega buster delaney the psalm twining and lax nomad for now let's begin with what is and forever will be the roper report it still doesn't feel appropriate today i'm gonna be honest it's time for some news we have six stories today a baker's doesn't this is what i want obviously it's been a sad day of news it's been a sad week of news been a sad month of news but a sad year yeah been a sad five years of news been a sad forever of news when it comes to video games i i feel like we can make this a space for video game therapy it was super chat in or just chat in with like your feelings if you this is a space where i want people to be open and i want it to be okay to be sad about things oh yeah can we do that together Of course.

8:31We can be sad together and also prop each other up and encourage each other. Of course. Yeah, last night, you know, I'm off on a mission, and I'm taking that little John Marston son out there to go fishing. And I'm teaching this kid how to fish. Teach a man to fish. He'll never go poor. Teach a man to fly. He'll never go die, you know? And so I, as we're out there fishing, because John Marston, he's a deadbeat dad. He doesn't like, you know, he just wants to be an outlaw. And his mom is, like, coming to me, and she's like, can you take the little kid out can you take Jack out with you you know go fishing with him let's go fishing Jack you know and we go out there and we think we're safe you know I just had a fatherly bonding moment with this child who's not my son and I turn around and it's god damn deputies from Pinkerton and they're like what's up guys you know we we know you're with Dutch where is he we're not going to arrest you John Marston you have a thousand dollar bounty on your hand or not Marston, sorry, I meant Arthur.

9:29Arthur Morgan. We just want Dutch. And he's like, well, I don't know where he's at. Oh, man, a great moment. I get back to the camp and I'm like, Dutch, fucking, two Pinkerton deputies are after us, Dutch. They offered me, you know, freedom if I turn you in. And Dutch is like kind of walking out and he's like, why didn't you take it? And Arthur's like, come on, don't joke around like that. But it's like, oh, it was such, his line, Dutch is like, fuck, This game is so good. I've been watching you play a little bit of it. You're making me want to go back to it. I forgot. You're making me want to go back to it because I fell off of it after a while.

10:03It's just like such goaded character development. In the way that Witcher 3, I fell off because I couldn't find Dandelion. Goddamn Dandelion. He's still out there. He's still out there. I still got to find them. I'm sure I have to save. In Red Dead Redemption 1, I know we're talking about 2, but in Red Dead Redemption 1, my Dandelion is Mexico. Oh, yeah. I got to Mexico and I was like, I'm good. I'm sorry. Yeah, I feel that. That was like 10 years ago, over 10 years ago when that happened. Red Dead Redemption 2, I got to St. Denis? Is that the New Orleans? St. Denis, yeah. I got to St. Denis, and then my horse died, and I was like, fuck this shit.

10:31Ah, dang, dude.

10:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The horse death was a final straw for me. Story number one, let's talk about our report. Roughly half of id Software's team has been laid off. This is from Chris Kerr at Game Developer. Doom the Dark Ages developer id Software has reportedly been gutted during the latest round of mass layoffs at Xbox. Multiple anonymous sources have told GameDeveloper that around 50 % of employees at the Texas-based studio have been laid off. One person claimed that equates to over 90 redundancies. Another source told GameDeveloper the studio's QA department has been decimated by the cuts. One laid-off worker posting publicly on LinkedIn corroborated those claims and expressed anger at the studio being torn apart in service of another reorganization of assets.

11:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:it's currently unclear how many of the 100 plus union members at id software have been ousted the news comes just hours after xbox xbox confirmed it would be eliminating 3200 roles across its video game division over the next fiscal year starting with 1600 cuts this week in an internal email obtained by ign bethesda president jill braff said the company which is a sibling studio of id software and others under xenomax is being restructured around its biggest franchises that goes into a little bit of what we talked about already yesterday uh with jason schreier talking about uh how bethesda is in xenomax is focusing in on elder scrolls fallout quake wolfenstein and doom they're concentrating on it for sure yeah i mean focusing on it we're focusing in on doom by laying off half the company that makes doom of course there's not really much for us to say that hasn't been said.

12:12Congratulations, new DLC out today. Yeah. Congrats. That is a nice little present for you. Hey, you released a new DLC today? All right, goodbye to half. You don't got to work on the day that you play it. Congrats. You have the day off. Jesus. You have the fucking rest of your career off from this company. And it's a massive bummer. It's extremely sad. The caliber of talent that I've been seeing being laid off, you know, you never you never hope for certain people to be laid off and other people to be safe right it all completely sucks ass but you know following one of the kind of like principal 3D artists who has just worked on worked for id since like I think doom 2016 and then worked on Wolfenstein New Colossus and has just done a lot of amazing 3D work one of the main concept artists i think like maybe the main dude i'm blanking on the person's name but it's like this is huge talent being let go and you know fingers crossed the only the only good thing that that can come from this is that they hire and they look for a new concept artists and not that they use ai to yeah iterate off of the work that's already been created that's like that's absolutely abysmal like that like that's how bad it could get in my opinion yes um you know we we talk about how so many of these games nowadays they take forever to get uh to forever to develop because you are laying off your more tenured employees that require more salary because they've been there for 15 10 years or whatever and you bring in newer blood who you don't have to pay as much but they're not as skilled and they don't have the chemistry and they haven't been there forever so games get games take longer and that's just like one of the symptoms of why things are more expensive and take longer to develop and my hope is that like i think best case scenario through any of this whoever is getting replaced are new employees and it's not just going to be oh we're never really going to be looking for another role like that again we have a lot of stuff that we can pull from and that's where my mind goes to doomsday scenario i also hope rehiring like i know that's that's an option we don't talk about a lot but like i've seen it happen time and time where somebody gets laid off and then the people who are leading that team realize that they laid off too many key people and they're like oh shit we actually need that person back like get that person back on our team um what happened to pay cuts like i'm you know um i feel like i feel like i'm giving ground to that like i feel like i'm kind of like why not just ask us to take a pay cut like that's still awful but god dang it just really feels like this is i think it's as apocalyptic as it gets it's the i'm gonna call it ea it's the evil arithmetic of if we if we give somebody pay cuts or if we if we say pay cuts already it's gonna be very bad probably just as bad pr for us as if we're doing layoffs and all that stuff and then also we're probably gonna lose people with pay cuts as well anyway and then also So with pay cuts, we're still paying for benefits.

15:26We're still paying for like there are a lot of costs associated with keeping people hired to where layoffs help you just get rid of all those costs. Right. And like a lot of what this all comes down to is evil arithmetic at the top. Right. The capitalistic machine going years ago, going, hey, let's let's eat up all these companies. Let's we got a plan here and the plan is to make the number go up. And so to make the number go up, let's buy companies that'll make the number go up. And then once the number starts to come down, we chop those companies. We chop them up and lay off all these people.

15:5950 % of employees is crazy. Yeah. And with a lot of these guttings, it just, you kind of nailed it yesterday talking about, like, if I wanted my studios to make more money and to get games out faster, you make the team smaller and you say, scope down. Scope down. Make a game in three years, in two years. And that's, again, this is me coming from this devil's advocate. I am the evil. I am not the owner of it all who is also giving out sponsorships for people to learn soccer around the country. This is coming from the capitalistic, I need money for all of the shareholders to be happy so we can kind of get more money coming through or whatever.

16:41We need to satisfy all of those people. and it does seem like yeah these kind of seem like the logical steps to be at your most evil here's the thing right because i've been thinking about this with a lot of the news has been coming on the last week right i've thought about writing a blog about this one day i'll start a blog one day i'll start the sub stack or something um but how i'm stacking yeah that's what it's called sub stack yeah i was thinking squarespace but that's a website yeah i mean i could make a blog with square space we're not sponsored but sponsors um i wanted to write something that is titled the culture is bigger than the business because when it comes to the physical disc stuff with playstation as well there is a view of when these companies are making decisions it's numbers above all and i think that's a capitalistic mindset leads you to think that way right like that is the the under under the system of capitalism that is the goal of companies is to raise the number up and up and up right and like we can disagree with that we can hate that i think a lot of us here disagree with that and hate that right for what all that brings but i think when you focus in on that number you then lose out on so many things that i think help you even get to that number like for the disc and i'm not trying to take a hard left turn talking about physical disc again we have a story later on that dude that does touch on that but when talking about the physical discs for example i think i've been getting more and more angry about it every day since the news came out of that because i think about all the things that are lost as far as interest in video games passion about video games like the culture of video games that are being lost all to serve this like this specific number of oh we can cut out manufacturing costs and cut out like these physical distributors from it but then i think about how many people get into video games because of physical because of things like going to a store and buying pre-owned and that being your only way to afford these games right like i think in the long run there that arithmetic doesn't math out when you think about the culture around the thing and how you're diminishing the culture and i think about that here too with the layoffs of sure laying off 50 of the workforce for for id software might make your number go up because you're not paying as many people but guess what what is a doom going to look like with 50 of its software working on a doom yeah like we're talking about scoping down and all this shit but like have you thought about that yeah like is there a plan for how like what does a scope scoped down doom look like what does a 50 of its software look like what is a we're going to talk about other studios that you're over here eliminating but you're changing the culture of these studios inherently they're not going to be able to operate the same and that's where I get into the culture is more important than the fucking numbers because you're going to end up closing these studios because they're not going to deliver on what you're asking for and the inherent sort of conflict with going we're streaming the DLC today I want to play this DLC if I if any part of me goes I want to boycott this because fuck Xbox, fuck Microsoft then the DLC fails if everybody decides to do that and then maybe it just gets cut it's just like yeah like but on the other side even if the dlc does do well like we've seen with so many big releases even if a game does do well that doesn't guarantee that things are going to work out for a studio right it doesn't help if you don't at all though like like what i if you told me andy if you play the dlc id software will retain 80 of its workforce yeah or if you don't we're gonna cut a lot more people then it's like i don't know i i at that point you really get into that sort of like how what am i supposed to do is as somebody who enjoys this shit as somebody who enjoys their art and enjoys their creations and it's like who's even around to accept that enjoyment because they're they got laid off too yeah it's when you're rolling credits on the dlc you're looking at a you're looking at an obituary yeah or um yeah you're it i don't know man like i i to that i'd say like everybody has their own way of of choosing the type of entertainment and choosing their own i guess like ethics and how they want to consume entertainment like there's no ethical consumption under capitalism right so it's like damned if you do damned if you don't you want to support the studio yeah like you're kind of also supporting xbox but also like i'm supporting playstation by playing on playstation even though i hate the disc stuff right like i'm sure i can point to fucked up things that valve and nintendo have got have got going on yeah if doom doesn't very much teach their own of how they want to approach this if this dlc ends up tanking because me and a lot of other people say we're not going to play it then i think about xbox going guess people don't really care much about doom we've seen sales go down the last several years maybe that's not a franchise we have to worry but like i don't know i just go to i feel like scenarios and but i think there's i think there's a wider economic like there's wider economic considerations you make when it comes to like decisions that singular people are making versus decisions that a group is making right like i love to believe that boycotting has um can can make um like significant effects on things and i've and it has it has right like i look at target for example and like the boycott on target and that led to results right like boycotting works but also i don't know i think boy i think boycotting works sometimes so right like boycotting it's got to be like a focused effort it's got to be like it's got to be a specific campaign like bds uh like the things we've seen in the past you bringing up target uh a bunch of companies it has to be like uh like personal stuff yes like that is very much like whatever your kind of moral stance is and however you want to navigate that like yes that'll always be up to you but uh getting things done and trying to accomplish specific goals isn't going to happen unless there's a specific organized campaign exactly and to that point barrett right like if there was an organized thing of hey we're not playing xbox games because well there's the bds thing right yes there is an organized there is an organized xbox thing parent but also like let's say in this scenario people are like we're not playing xbox games because they're doing all these playoffs treating these companies bad all that shit then i think there is a better chance of that message getting across to xbox of oh man our numbers are down on this thing let's look on analytics on why and then maybe you start to get to that place of oh shit all right yeah no people were very active about not playing this game for this reason but like on a personal level yeah like if you're salty about a company you don't yeah like avoid that game don't play that game but i don't think that's on you as far as how that affects the business i think about the people i do know that work there like do they want me to they want me to support like i don't know yeah it's just so messy oh yeah it's so messy like i've had i've had friends laid off from companies who they still they would still want me to support the game even though they have complicated feelings about the company that's in that game you know and that's not always the case there are the people i think at arcane there's a union within arcane that has talked about like hey don't play our game but because of the bds yeah because of the the bds boycott yeah andy we got another story that goes in line with story

24:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:number one story number two the outer worlds and grounded studio obsidian is losing around 25 percent of its staff to xbox layoffs this is rebecca valentine at kotaku among the massive cuts made today across Xbox, Kotaku understands that roughly one quarter of Obsidian Entertainment, the first-party studio behind Avowed, The Outer Worlds, and Pentiment, is being let go. Speaking to sources with knowledge of the matter, Kotaku understands that somewhere around 60 to 70 people were cut. The layoffs include producers, artists, designers, programmers, QA testers, writers, and others who have worked across Obsidian's prodigious slate of recent releases.

24:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Prodigious? I'm going to say prodigious. Prodigious. prodigious good call prodigious slate uh looking through linkedin posts from impacted employees it's apparent that many of those impacted were senior talent including some with over a decade of experience at the studio the art director on the outer worlds and the studio's only recruiter were among those laid off most of these roles were limited on july 6th as part of the xbox's first 1600 layoffs while a few were told they would be let go later this year as a part of the second wave of cuts. One individual told me that employees who will remain at the studio have not yet received formal guidance on how their existing projects can continue with so many staff members missing, particularly given what they characterized as a huge list of projects in the works at the studio in the coming months.

25:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kotaku understands that work on Grounded 2, which is currently in early access, and the announced DLC for Outer Worlds 2 is expected to continue, but plans beyond that are up in the air employees expect to hear more at a studio wide meeting on july 7th again like i look at the quote from the person saying i don't know how we're supposed to continue continue this yeah we don't have any guidance on where to go from here and so we just have to sit and wait and i guess figure this shit out meanwhile we're losing 60 to 70 people here yeah we talk about the going from we need to remove 14 layers of management sort of issue that they're dealing with so now yeah we have negative management we don't have anybody to oversee what the project is that we're working on and what we will be working on in the future um yeah it's uh seems like everything is kind of a mess until hopefully some changes are made and you know in terms of like all right these studios similar to what astro charme was mentioning now minecraft reports to me so and so report you know let's try to kind of get some you know the the ball rolling here and try to see exactly what these teams uh will be concentrating on but um yeah it's just just keeps on hitting just keeps on hitting and again i go back to what i said during story number story number one which is we're looking at that number and we're impacting these studios based off of how much we want the number to go up but what does that do for the actual quality of the content that the studio wants to put out like if you want to have obsidian either continue to work on their ips that they work on or i imagine probably work on a fallout like we want them potentially this is speculation obviously we're in speculation station when i say this but do you want them to potentially work on a new fallout game meanwhile you're cutting into their studio even more like i'm i was already at a place of like, oh man, that's going to be a little bit of an uphill thing for Obsidian to make a Fallout.

27:42I think they can make a great Fallout, but also I don't think they're going to make a Fallout with a scope of a Bethesda. I think that's okay, but also there's work that will need to be done there. Now we're saying we're cutting around 60 to 70 people. That's crazy if you want them to continue operating while also working on an IP like that. Who knows if that's what they're going to do. I just assume. I just speculate, obviously. But even if you want them to make the stuff that they already make here, that's tough. I mean, you know, you don't want the connection to be made, but you bring in somebody with a heavy past of AI development.

28:22And a lot of teams are being cut by 30 to 50 percent of their workforce. And you do the math. Yeah. It just seems like we're headed there. and you know you hope to god that the fucking tires fall off of the car you hope that you could grab the steering wheel and veer off into a fucking canal or something but it's just uh it it's it's so hard to feel uh optimistic about any of this situation let's bring in some

28:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:super chats for you uh to bring the energy up a slight bit no comms writes in and says first birthday tax been a bummer hearing all gaming news uh but i'm glad my favorite trio are out here spitting facts love y 'all kfbs thank you so much no comms um riago nine says the mega corpse don't appreciate that most game devs don't make a hit with their first game and cutting these teams now microsoft is just digging themselves further into the hole um see dan lefevre 1851 One says all these layoffs and closures and yet Nintendo gave everyone a 10 % increase. The big two need to take a lesson from the big end.

29:37As a three years ago, as a reminder,

29:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the big end did that three years ago, three years ago. And that was likely possibly to do with some union busting. I missed that part. There's the speculation about that. I don't know how like certain a lot of that is, but it seems like a, you know, Hey, you guys are working overtime. Let's have a little pizza party. Like, it's one of those situations. I love when Greg buys his pizza. Yeah, me too. Me too. The Action Pat says, the 14 layers of management won't accept pay cuts.

30:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Let's see. The MD Fournier says, I feel really bad to give money to these corpos, but I really want to play the Doom DLC. Sucks. Here's what I'll say, right? Separate from the BDS thing, because I think the BDS thing adds a complicated layer to this, but if you want to play a game, just play the game. like i i don't think you're 30 i don't know how much the doom dlc is 40 i think it's 40 40 40 um i don't think your 40 is going to sway this one way or another as far as like the way microsoft looks at at doom and maybe i'm crazy for for for saying that now i think i'm part of me also goes protect your peace protect your find your happiness wherever you can genuinely it's hard to feel that way yeah uh yeah um rival kazuna says for the first time in my adult life i'm not planning on buying the new playstation at launch after all the news makes me sad one thing i've been saying i was going to say this conversation for the because story number five has to do with playstation stuff but i saw that playstation pretty much went radio silent on social ever since posting the thing about the discs which surprised me a little bit they finally posted a tweet today about their flex strike fighting stick thing but just all the replies all the everybody's just fucking going in on them games cage fidel has been posting like the funniest shit uh he's like three days in he posted the uh like three days of radio silence and he posted the you know that one um you know that like the does he know meme or whatever but it was a very similar one but it was when galactus gets pulled through the black hole and it was like where did he go this is so funny that's really funny somebody says place the what was it somebody says they don't have to post every day of course they don't have to post every day the thing is though they usually do post every day like yeah they have a habit of posting regularly so when you post that news and go radio silent and it's one of the top three gaming tweets ever and fucking dominoes is going in on you even though i hate corporate on corporate crime but like i i do think i mean obviously they see it they they know it's bad news.

32:16Is it Domino's UK though? It's Domino's UK. Are they gamer gating? Oh my God. God damn it. Every single time. Dude, Domino's UK is like, I hate that shit. They had posted some shit about like, you know, basically alluding to the fact that, you know, they want hotter characters in games. It was one of those things. It was like, oh man, Domino's UK, get the fuck out of here. I forget. They were talking to a company and the game developer responded like, you know, hey thank you dominoes corporate twitter account or whatever yeah i forget oh i know which one that was yeah was it hmm yeah they were chud posting chat i forget exactly it was god of war laofay wasn't it it was it was like this we want real god of war it was like some bullshit yeah give me kratos in my god of war or something like that it was yeah i hate i hate that shit i forget i didn't i forgot that that was dominoes uk yeah yeah all right we'll throw dominoes uk out the window yeah and domino's us hope you're cool though let me down hey domino's us don't let me down because i love me some domino's pizza but not in the uk if i'm in the uk i'm eating whatever other pizza is there i guarantee you there was about minimum three different tweets that had been scheduled for those past several days i had to be like hey no no that's legit yeah we're not putting out that don't let things die down let xbox grab some of the heat right now like they're doing which is obviously like i think i think there's a yeah a conversation there of hey don't tweet until xbox the xbox news comes out then there'll be the topic of conversation i i'm i'm obviously i'm sad about it all but i'm happy to see that people still aren't forgetting the place yeah yeah right like i i i have so little hope that they'll reverse course because i'm sure this feeds into what their plans are for next gen which is already probably years into the making but xbox fans we got you we're talking about the playstation disc stuff so we got your back too we're bringing it up but um i think there's a chance well not a chance i'm not gonna say there's a chance i think the amount of conversation the amount of backlash if it continues on this level i could see there being some sort of like i don't know what the thing is but some sort of thing i'm just keeping in i'm keeping in some hope sure in my heart that there's a reverse of course there

37:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we're back with some breaking news, Andy. Whoa. Egypt is up right now 2-0 against Argentina they're 75 minutes into the game whoa which is huge like anything can happen anything can happen but if Egypt beats Argentina that's renewed hope for me because right now like now that USA is out now that um like Cabo Verde is out my two teams um I guess Mexico and Canada I was kind of rooting for too Egypt and I believe Morocco's still in check me on that I believe Morocco's still in they're my two teams I'm rooting for you know what I'm rooting for Egypt too hell yeah hell yeah I need an African team to win the World Cup what's the over under and like the amount of like slurs being yelled from that Argentinian crowd they're inventing new ones they're a champion player who's like wait what does that mean what do you call me that Morocco versus France ah shit that's tough yeah Mbappe's about to go sicko mode maybe what if they just tie what if they agree to disagree They agree.

38:42You can't tie. They have to go to penalties at that point. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

38:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:While we're here on the World Cup, I want to bring in a super chat from Christian Solario, 14Y, who says, been watching U.S. soccer since 2022. Worst World Cup loss. I'm happy I tapped out at halftime because I went back and watched the clips of the other couple of goals. Did you see the goals? The goalie had a real bad fuck up. Yeah. Right, yeah. The goalie had a fuck up so bad where I, like, had to keep re-watching to be like, what happened? Yeah. He, like, kicked the ground or something? Like, what? that shit was crazy so yeah that was really bad i was streaming while it was happening i started i started my stream one once it was two to one and then as i was streaming it became during my intro the stream it became three to one and i was like all right i think i made the right call but maybe if i turn off the stream i'll turn the luck around yeah didn't work they scored another one i'm gonna blame trump just so you know y 'all know i'm gonna blame trump i mean sure maybe if trump didn't fucking medal like he did in the next thing shout out to belgium though uh making fun of him oh yeah the belgium players they were like they were doing like call sign gestures oh that's and then they were doing the trump dance oh that's really funny shout out to belgium i love your waffles jbc writes in and says usa came in 17th ranked and left 16th let's fucking go yeah hey we're moving up hey that's what i'm talking about right there moving up as a country and then Napoleon blown apart says birthday tax turned 37 today.

40:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Thank you guys. And all the KFBFs are always creating a safe space to hang out every day. Happy birthday, Napoleon. Love that. Story. Number three, IO interactive closes a studio and gains ownership of project fantasy IP. This is directly from IO interactive on Twitter. Dear gaming community, following the end of our external finance partnership on project fantasy. Remember that external partner? Of course, Xbox and Microsoft. um ioi has regained full ownership of the project and our ip will continue to develop and fund it independently amongst our other projects with this context we had to find a new balance for the long-term future of the studio focused on the success of our main internal core titles instead of external projects and potential mobile game derivatives this has meant making changes as well as proposed changes across our studios the closure of our istanbul studio and starting a process to part ways with colleagues who have been a meaningful part of what makes IO Interactive what it is.

41:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Our immediate focus is on supporting those affected as best we can through this period. If you're aware of any opportunities within your network, we would be genuinely grateful for any support you can offer to any of the talented people across IOI who might be looking for new opportunities. These are hard but necessary decisions in order to retain the long-term future of IO Interactive as one of the very few fully independent AAA developer and publishers, as well as to give Project Fantasy the best possible foundation to succeed under our own passion and direction. Project Fantasy is a game, a world, and an IP that we are wholly committed to, and we cannot wait to share the love with you.

41:41Good news, bad news.

41:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. This is similar to the situations we're talking about with the other Xbox studio, you know. I don't want to say closures, but hey, we're going to let you keep your IP. We'll let you go indie. We'll give you a runway.

42:05I'm still trying to be glass half-assed. Full. Half-assed. Well, glass is just half. I want to be glass half-full about it and look at the situation and go, a studio was closed. Awful. People lost their jobs. I'm happy that a successful studio like IO can still keep the thing that they were working on and not get lost to time and lost to a deal with some red tape bullshit. But yeah, hugely sad. I mean, I don't know if we know the exact numbers of how many people were at the Assemble studio, but either way, it's another sad story that you... I always struggle to give the appropriate level level of mourning and sadness to every story sure because i don't want to feel fake about it and i don't want to feel like i'm going through the motions yeah and that's just all like this is all just personal anecdote shit but it's like i i don't want it to get to a point where i feel like we're just sort of repeating ourselves even though it's hard to not feel that way but i just you know you get to a point where you go do people even think that i'm sad about this stuff anymore like that's just i get in my own head about this stuff it's like i we're talking personally you know we're all talking about our own stories video game therapy because i we have an audience that listens to us every day so i'm sure they have a similar feeling of it's hard to be sad every day yeah you don't want to be sad every day you shouldn't be sad every day sad shit happens every day but we're only human you know what i mean like we're not supposed to have the internet we're not supposed to be aware of every single thing happening in the world we're not supposed to be exposed to all of this shit all the time our brains aren't created for that our brains didn't evolve for all of this i was meant to be on the on the nba court i was we were we were meant to be rubbing sticks together and creating fire and keeping warm and then farming and then fucking like that's like that's what our brains were developed for and then we got smarter and so we made more technology and all this shit right but like i think we haven't caught up with the fact that like yeah we are exposed to so much information every single day the internet is only really existed for a few decades now right like we're not meant for all this and so it's okay to i think it's okay to when you're reading these stories every single day to like be a little bit numb it sucks that that it ends up being what happens but also i think that just speaks to the state of how terrible this shit is yeah and also remember remember this is another thing that comes back to xbox like i want to i want to acknowledge once again as i've been acknowledging for i feel like a while now how badly this xbox management has been when it like on multiple levels but obviously acquisitions fucked everything up but when you're talking about the management of your portfolio and your studios under you like i see a lot of people online i I think giving dumb takes of, oh, well, these studios that are getting let go or whatever, they weren't making great games anyway.

45:17And it's like, well, maybe if you had better people managing you and you had better leadership, you would be put in a place where you're capable to make great games. And I look at these third-party partnerships and you have this, you got the Avalanche thing that fell through. You have the, was it John Romero? I think it was a John Romero game that fell through under this. I'm pretty sure the fucking Wu-Tang game was supposed to be an Xbox game. And there are games that, perfect dark of course gets canceled which was the third party but you get what i mean what's happening with od are we hearing about that um the word on the street is that od safe okay and i think that's just kojima if kojima if od was from a different studio i think od i think od would have been canceled that's ashisharma looking at the name and going no yeah that's ashisharma that's people in ashisharma's ear going you can't do this one yeah like this one is worth one worth oh he's cool that guy's cool okay that guy's cool trust us he's kojima he made metal gear one of the yeah but goddamn yeah xbox i i dude i really didn't i wasn't sure things could get worse than the live service push from sony yeah sorry you what i looked at my computer archie is caught up argentine he scored two goals then five minutes they scored two goals and tied i don't mean to i don't mean to do that during this conversation i know that's incest insensitive i apologize it just caught me so off guard that caught me so off guard i i'm not even joking this is not this is not a joke when you reacted to your computer i thought you were reacting to breaking news of another studio no like closing or something damn that's crazy i'm sweating right now i'm scared about this getting messy out there um but yeah i apologize i didn't mean to derail like that i feel so bad because that's not the conversation to derail like that uh no no yeah i just to go back to it i i didn't think that things could get much worse decision wise than the live service disaster from sony but it really does seem like the the bet on game pass being we're going to get to this amount of users paying monthly yeah um that big bet to then go let's have all these smaller studio let's have all these studios make games to build that portfolio to for retention right they come to game pass to play that one big title and just when they're thinking about dropping it we'll get them hooked on a game that's you know not going to change the world yeah but it's like that strategy failing is on par with let's make four of our studios make multiplayer like they're equally they are bad bets I would say Sony's is like a dumber thought process arguably a dumber thought process because maybe with the growth of Game Pass they go hey we should you know we should this is going to keep going up so let's keep people on it or whatever they're dumb in different ways it feels like we're like measuring together catastrophes to the Xbox thing it's like alright you're losing and you want to win and you see potential for how you can revolutionize in order to get to that place where you're number one again and so you make these bets and then i think i honestly think the bigger fuck up like the bad fuck ups from xbox come down to the acquisitions and just like i think leadership not managing those studios well which i'd say is dumb but i think it's almost more just incompetence than being dumb playstation looked at pure data and went oh fortnight makes this much all right let's allocate this much of our budget now to live service and have studios that have no business making a god of war multiplayer game make that blue point i think it's easier for me to look at xbox decisions and monday morning quarterbacking and go i could see the thought process yeah it wasn't the smartest decision obviously but i could see like hey if they're seeing numbers going up on game pass stuff and they think that that number can still go up they're making a they're making a bad bet with sony it really does feel like nobody talked to each other that one person told one and they all joined up one day they're like you told them to make a live service game too oh fuck and another person's like dude i told them to make a live service game we can't have four live service get like that's the ultimate what are you doing awful decision that's not reading the room but i think the dumb thing is about it is that I don't think they did that as a mistake.

49:50No. I think they did it on purpose. That's what I'm saying. It's that dumb that you would assume nobody spoke to each other about any of this. But it's like, to me, it stinks of people that don't understand the industry. Those decisions were made when even four to five years ago, we were calling Fortnite and I guess Warzone came out like, you know, 60 years ago, whatever. But we were calling these games like Apex or Overwatch the forever games. People have their ecosystems. They don't really want to leave their ecosystems. You're trying to add four more, four or five more, whatever it was. A God of War multiplayer one.

50:30Bluepoint, you're making one as well. Like, well, I guess Bluepoint was making the God of War one, right? Bluepoint was making the God of War one. And, you know, Last of Us Factions is arguably the only smart decision there. And that one got canceled. Like, I think Last of Us factions was like the only one that had a good thought process because we're going to have a TV show. Pedro Pascal. But the dumb thing about the Last of Us factions is that the reason they canceled it, at least the reason they say, Greg doesn't believe this. They didn't want to split the team, right? Yeah, they didn't want to become the studio that makes Last of Us factions.

51:01They're like, if we want to sustainably continue to make our single player games, we can't make Last of Us factions. And I could have told you that. Yeah. Like, I think anyone who pays attention to this shit goes, oh, if you're making a live service Last Blitz game that has maybe the fidelity and, like, the amount of attention to detail and all this shit as the Last Blitz, if you're going to make content for it, you have to make that content forever. Like, this is your next 10 years. Look at Bungie's burn rate. And that's why Bungie was like, hey, it's expensive to make our shit.

51:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. We've been around for a while. We've been churning out content, but our burn rate is fucking nuts because of the content that this community is accepting. Or you could take the Bandai Namco route with Night Reign and go, like, we're not a live service game. We'll put out an update. Or you could just make the Last of Us Factions mode like you did for Last of Us 1. That's all I wanted. You put out Last of Us 1 or Last of Us Part 1, the remastering, whatever you want to call it. Oh, wait, no, sorry. Not that one. they put out the last of us yeah i'm thinking of the roguelite the roguelite they put out the left behind or whatever yeah whatever it was called for last plus two when it came to playstation 5 and that's the scope of that is the same scope i would have wanted for just a multiplayer mode yeah you know what i mean that's all i wanted and then y 'all went hey we're gonna make a whole big thing it's gonna be last was online our whole studio is gonna be working on it forever it's like no no no i just want to shoot my friend i want i want more night rain oh i did i did I'm looking into it.

52:30Yeah. And I'll accept that I was like 60 % wrong on that Elden Ring Night Reign was a, or that Elden Ring was a pandemic game. It was in 2022, obviously, February 2022. And approximately 36 to 38 % of the workforce was still working from home. But because of the pandemic or because they're just, they just have remote jobs? No, because of, yeah, because of the pandemic. And so I tie that in with everybody in that time kind of discovering TikTok and, you know, the content being like, yeah, I feel like that was a, here's what I'll say. Here's what I'll say. There's a content shareability in Elden Ring.

53:06I would say I was mostly wrong. Okay. However. Yeah. Elden Ring is close to 30 million sales now. I would say, I think it was 25 as of like last year or something-ish. Over 30 million as of mid 2025. Here's what I'll say. if Elden Ring came out today, it does not hit those numbers. Oh, I disagree.

53:32I think you feel that way because of what Elden Ring became. Yeah. I think that if, I think games just nowadays aren't doing, games this year and maybe even last year are just, things are different. I think of something like how massive Expedition 33 was and it got close to 10 million. Sure. I think of Crimson Desert being this holy shit it's changing everybody can't stop it got bad reviews and it doesn't matter people are still look at the retention the the player count and it sold like 9 million 10 million if crimson desert was as good as elden ring it would have sold i think it would have gotten to those elden ring numbers i just think crimson desert was a bit elden ring i think was ubiquitous people critics everybody loved it and then also i think it was just a very sticky you know kind of game that people want to buy crimson desert just wasn't crimson desert i think turned off a lot of people but then turned on a lot of other people you know what i mean clear scare is a turn-based rpg i think that really is what it comes down to for that not hitting those but it was also just like the it was unanimous in every award ever yeah um i'll accept 60 wrong uh you know 65 wrong wrong i'll take 65 that's fine okay that's fair but i'll say like if elder ring came out today it wouldn't sell 30 it would sell like it would hit 20 but it wouldn't get to 30.

54:50I'm trying to think of, like, I just think it's a different, what was the last Elden Ring we had? Was it Baldur's Gate 3? I feel like Baldur's Gate 3 was kind of that. How much did Baldur's Gate 3 sell? That's a hard one because that was in early access. Man, you can't put us on a show together because now we're, I don't even know what the news story is. We got so far off. Three to two. Argentina. No shot. What the fuck? Who scored?

55:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Was it Messi? God, Black Myth Wukong is not the same, though. Yeah, Black Myth Wukong had the power of the Chinese government behind it. And Journey to the West. And Journey to the West. Those two combinations. Other Chinese games are not selling Black Myth Wukong numbers. It has to be like Journey to the West related for people to get. I've never so badly wanted a game to be on. Can we make the second screen in the game somehow? Do we have Fox Sports on this? Jesus. We don't have express written consent of FIFA. Can we get a second screen experience? I think, what's his name? XQC streamer got banned because he was watching FIFA highlights.

55:53Oh, really? Yeah. They don't like that shit. That's why ESPN shows pictures. Oh, really? Yeah. That's crazy.

56:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Damn. All right, let's get into story number four. We kind of already talked about it because you alluded to it, but Microsoft expected Game Pass would have 77 million subscribers by now, but it reportedly only has 30 million. This is Wesley Yenpool at IGN. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has admitted Game Pass has failed to grow as Microsoft had expected, with reports indicating it is tens of millions of subscribers short of previous targets. The Wall Street Journal said that Microsoft had expected Game Pass subscriptions to hit around 77 million this year, but it currently has only about 30 million. As revealed during the FTC versus Microsoft trial of 2023, Microsoft had hoped for 100 million subscribers by 2030, which seems very unlikely at this stage.

56:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm going to cut off the story there I don't like a lot of these hoping stories similar to the Samsung CEO saying we're going to make more money this year more profit this year than we have the past four years of operating because it's just these numbers are thrown out there to get shareholder people excited but wasn't this also like internal shit as well that was only like put out there because of the court stuff leaked to Presta? They came out because of documents used within the court stuff. I see. The$100 million stuff did. But the$77 million for this year, I believe, is from Wall Street Journal as a report.

57:26Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Gotcha. Okay. Remember that big Insomniac leak and there was some note in there that was like, do gamers notice the$200 million difference in the budget between Spider-Man 1 and 2? I didn't see that one. Yeah, I think that was like a line in that. I'm happy somebody asked. It was like, was it really worth it to spend that much, you know? No. I played Spider-Man 2 and went, oh, that was cool. I think I like Spider-Man 1 better, but it was cool. Like, no, you don't have to spend 200 more million dollars on this. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, story number five. Don't kill the disc. Independent retailer launches petition calling on PlayStation to keep physical games.

58:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It gets over 115 ,000 signatures. This is Wesley Yenpool at IGN. an independent retailer has launched a petition calling on sony to reverse its decision to ditch discs on playstation consoles garnering over 115 000 signatures so far pnp games a canadian independent video game retailer launched the change.org petition asking fans to join it and telling sony to keep physical playstation games at the time of this article's publication the petition the petition had 115 471 signatures sony sparked a significant backlash last week for its decision to do away with video game discs on playstation consoles from 2028 uh sony's heavily criticized announcement hit the mainstream with the likes of kfc and the pizza company that should not be mentioned that is in the uk uh and even celebrity comedians dunking on it meanwhile sony has come under fire from some developers publishers and retailers the latter of whom stand to lose out when new playstation games start coming out with just a download code in a box jade pierce of pnp games pointed to ownership and preservation issues and sony's decision will cost jobs they go on i'm gonna stop the article uh there because the rest is more editorialization but um just wanted to shout that out of a thing that's still happening right don't forget playstation's take away your physical discs we should do something don't let it happen i'm not the biggest uh petition person i'll sign some shit i'll sign some shit i'll sign some like some like i guess like if the petition is about human rights or some shit like that environmentalism i'll sign it you can get me to sign anything yeah yeah like i i'm i'm just not convinced that like a petition like this helps i'm the sucker that gets but i want it to i don't want to i don't want to speak down on the petition i'm the sucker that gets pulled aside by anybody in the streets you know sir do you have a minute like i feel bad oh sure and i'm just like i have my headphones on so clearly that should have been the thing that should have driven you to not ask want to stop me or whatever because clearly i'm listening to something i do they uh yeah what's going on i take my headphone out like sir do you have a minute to talk about how we should keep the great highway open every day or some shit i'm just like uh yeah what do you need me to say great highway should be open like let me yeah i'll sign that shit pissed me off because i play soccer like i live i signed it i live thank you thank you because i live in a place and i would play soccer in a place where the great highway was my direct path uh it's also caused more traffic in other places as well so annoying yeah so hey sometimes petitions are great you know sf just got the affordable housing uh guarantee act uh on the ballot in november uh because of uh getting signatures for a petition so hey i'll sign that shit i think we hit full time by the way And Argentina has beaten Egypt

1:00:53That's Man We shouldn't have said anything on the show We cursed them We jinxed it It's on us Egypt it's on us You said we're sorry I said anything can happen I said I like You're sweaty I'm heated right now Blessing you sweaty I said anything can happen I'm so fucking mad How they were up they were up two to zero two zero two nil past 70 minutes is crazy at 70 getting three goals in the span of the last 20 minutes of the game apparently you've got like seven yellow cards i really am sweating right now he's sweaty egypt losing if egypt won that would have been big that would have been big news

1:01:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:but if under something smaller say the tiniest news i need to know about where'd i go you go to our last story the we news channel we cover all the small news items you need to know about story number six is we news uh undead labs has shared on their discord that state of decay 3 is still in development they posted today undead labs begins a new chapter for transitioning out of xbox and while we can't share all the details just yet we can tell you this state of decay 3 is still coming the team is working hard and our commitment to this community has never been stronger more news soon survivors stick together nice niantic is now scopely explorer i'm reading from scopely.com last year we welcomed the niantic games team behind pokemon go pikmin bloom monster hunter now and companion apps campfire and wayfarer to scopely as these games continue to flourish as part of the scopely portfolio we're introducing a new name for the team scopely explorer okay All right.

1:02:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Keep training the drones. Keep training the military drones. I mean, it made me laugh so hard the day that I was hosting Games Daily with Simon Cardi. We get to Wii News and you've been training drone companies this whole time with Pokemon Go. Simon Cardi was like, it's not really Wii News. That's pretty big news, isn't it? It's a pretty big news. Yeah, sure. Makes sense, Simon. Is that Wii News? Sometimes I order them based off the level of conversation that I think we're going to have about the thing. Not because this news is small or big. It's pretty big. I'm just like, how much does Simon...

1:03:11First of all, I did a show with Simon. Simon doesn't have shit to say about any of these things. This is funny. How much does he have to say about the military drones on this show? It's not good, isn't it? If that was one of the main news stories, Simon would own. Oh, that's bad. Yeah, exactly. What shape were the drones? Bad news. Mecha Chameleon which I learned is actually pronounced Mecha Chameleon Mecha Chameleon sells 15 million 15 million 15 million units That's going to be the next Elden Ring You gotta assume everybody's looking at these games and like the big executives going Can we shit out a peak?

1:03:52Can we shit out a Mecha Chameleon What if every Xbox studio started putting out Friendslop? the next doom game is just a friend slop game everybody has smiley faces i i i would not be surprised if there's a team of five being put aside anywhere to just be like make something game jamming in a week you boot up elder scrolls five and it's like you and four friends and there's a big mountain you gotta get up to it you gotta hold like a like this elder scrolls you gotta hold a thing together or whatever like why is this elder scrolls six it's like oh you got six friends that you play with gotta get to the warhammer 40k rogue trader received a major

1:04:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:update to the switch 2 version and as an apology for the less than stellar switch 2 launch in december 2025 all cat games announced that all additional content including all story dlcs will be free for switch 2 players wow i have heard nothing good nothing but good sorry i got scared i've heard nothing but good stuff about warhammer 40k rogue that it's like not quite on the level of Baldur's Gate 3 in terms of like CRPG but it's like really really really damn close okay and I so want to give it a shot but I just know it's another massive game with a lot of cool character you know development and all of the CRPG D &D things that you would want from a game like that I should have gone back and played what's the Disco Elysium like that's not Disco Elysium that's not Disco Zero Parades Esoteric Ebb Oh Esoteric Ebb Yeah I did start Zero Parades For Dead Spies And like I was Really lacking it early on And then just fell off You fell off But like Esoteric Ebb Seems like the one It seems like more people Were into that one Yeah People really fucked With that one I wanna I wanna beat it Before the year ends Yeah That's another one Andy That I'm waiting For my Thor To see if it hopefully Runs on there I bet you it would Yeah Yeah I bet you it would Game Pass Games for July 2026.

1:05:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Tamashika, July 9th, is coming. July 13th, they're getting Ascend to Zero. On the 14th, PVA Pro Bowling 2026. On the 16th, they're getting Mavericks by Matt Jones. Who? You think Mavericks? What did I say? Mavericks. Mavericks. Ah, yeah. It's not spelled like Mavericks. It's like M-A-V-R-I-X. Mavericks. Mavericks. Let's see. 17th, you're getting Fixed Force and Fog Kearser. I did like the Mike Jones joke, though. thank you i appreciate it uh 21 on july 21st i should say you're getting the planet crafter and 20 hot pro skater one plus two and then for premium you're getting gears of war reloaded and quarantine zone the last check really quick i just want to show up thomas chica i brought this game up on gamescast a couple months ago uh very quick just like kind of fast-paced speed running type of run and gun uh game uh the hook of it though is like it seems like a very short game but then you realize that the main level that you play over and over again updates every day.

1:06:51It's like procedurally generated every day, so you get like a new map that you play through with challenges and like leaderboards and all that stuff. Very fun and addicting. I had a great weekend with it. I highly recommend playing it on Switch.

1:07:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hell yeah. Well, there you go. That is Wii news. Hopefully that Game Pass wave gets them to the 77 million. Before we get out of here, let's look up some Super Chats, see what y 'all talking about. Red Shirt Draper. I mean, says what I think a lot of us feel, right? It's software did everything right. Fuck this. Yeah. I guess that's part we didn't mention. It's software didn't miss. Dude. Dude, the Dark Ages is so good, man.

1:07:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm going to say Geysher, 1704, says Battle Lagoon is British, but plays for the USA. There you go. Balogoon is Nigerian. All right. I know that name anywhere. His name is Fullarin Balogoon. That man's Yoruba. Stone writes in and says, hey, guys, hope you're all doing well. My thing is, Blade could have been a huge exclusive for Xbox. Why cut that while bringing exclusives back? I mean, they haven't cut it yet. I personally don't think Blade has the, like, it's not Spider-Man. Blade is not Spider-Man. I agree with that. just speaking factually yeah but maybe in another comic multiverse blade does become spider-man but like i don't know that comic exists somewhere yeah jokes aside though i i don't think that that that type of character is like a console seller spider-man is spider-man like that's most popular superhero probably ever yeah you know i i feel that i just think if the game's a banger enough then like it who knows it might not be a console seller but you just need a slate you need a slate of good enough games where you can go no individual game might be a console seller but these games together all being exclusive like you gotta play these games i think blade could have been that right blade would have been it might not have been spider-man but maybe it could have sat alongside of gears maybe it could have sat alongside a like i was gonna say alongside a keeper it would have sat above like above a keeper above like when you're talking about oh for sure the popularity level of this thing could have hit as i know like to be clear i think the game would have would have and could hopefully still be amazing sure sure i just meant more of like name recognition yeah um you know i don't i think of you know spider-man as something that sold ps5s okay and and and i don't think that blade is something that sells xboxes you know um let's see let's see let's see let's see jay can play says i'm helping playstation find a new slogan which do you guys prefer playstation play has no options or playstation greed has no limits love you guys the greed has no limits is pretty good greed has no limits is really good yeah i like that uh and then i'll pull in one more from rgx89 it says i wonder what the criteria for the layoffs are based off uh if id gets half their people laid off and they have a really solid reputation studios like halo studio should get 75 of their team cut i mean there's a there's a way bigger conversation there i don't know we should say anybody should have a certain amount cut but it just seems like you're doing stuff out of spite at this point yeah that's kind of mean yeah um but also like who knows how this arithmetic works right again i call it look at it as like halo is a more popular it has more weight to it than doom even though doom was a better video game it didn't do what we think uh another halo could do or whatever i think they just look at it as like the ips and that's how they measure importance against each other which sucks yeah because doom the dark age fucking rules yeah again it's the evil arithmetic that doesn't take into account human creativity and people's need to provide for themselves and their families and so yeah they look at it as what can you do for me next you know blue point didn't get shut down because they hadn't delivered before they got shut down because their project got canceled and playstation looked at them and went oh you're gonna take three to four years before you're able to deliver something for me and so we're gonna shut your studio down you're behind the eight bob and it's our fault but shit yeah like the um hi-fi rush studio tango game works you know they had just put out a banger but xbox they're like we need to make cuts who's furthest from putting out a game all right sorry tango like we had this in the works let's hop into kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong rewrite in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it for those watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe we have one you're wrong that's not a you're wrong but i'm gonna call it out because this shit pisses me off so bad.

1:11:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I heard somebody out on Blue Sky over this yesterday. Jepo1450 my blood is boiling, fucking reading this shit, right? Jepo1457 writes in and says it's football, not soccer. Hey, guess what? I live in the US. I grew up mostly in the US. Our audience are mostly, our audience is a lot of people from the US, but what it's based on is we're US content creators. If we say fucking football, we have a thing here already. It's called football. And it's the most popular sport in this country. I'm not gonna confuse our entire audience. By just saying football. Tell him less. It's so fucking annoying. Tell him less.

1:12:20Stop it. It's so annoying. It's so annoying. Don't be mad at me because the other, the most popular sport in our country called themselves football. I'm not going to be like. I didn't do that. I didn't name the sport football. I'm sorry that it's called football. You know what I mean? Like if I was to rename it, I'd rename it to touchdown or some shit like that. But guess what? It's already called football. I can't change that we have a sport called football. It was like this when I got here. Look what Messi's done to us. Look at Argentina's done to us Don't piss me off man I'm tired of Anytime somebody says soccer Oh it's called football It's like I know I've lived in Nigeria But they called it football But then also sometimes Called it soccer Guess what Because people aren't Annoying over there Yeah Stop being annoying
