In short

Kinda Funny Games Daily (Aug 10, 2026) covers gaming news and discussion, focusing on Final Fantasy VII Revelation and Kingdom Hearts 4, plus several sales/industry updates.

Guests

Roger “Roger” Perko rny (co-host; discusses playing Fields of Mistry and Spider-Man) and Tim Gettys (host).

Key claims

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will get a “new look” at Gamescom Opening Night Live on Aug 25, with director Naoki Hamaguchi involved; Hamaguchi says the base game will definitively end the trilogy’s story and there won’t be epilogue DLC, though any DLC would be a character-focused spinoff (example discussed: Vincent and “Dirge of Cerberus”).

Notable examples

a Datamined Epic Games Store “story expansion pass” listing conflicts with the “no epilogue DLC” claim; voice actor hints for Genesis (gawk; recording studio posts) suggest more involvement. Kingdom Hearts 4 details from the D23 app: co-directed by Tai Yasu (Birth by Sleep, KH3D, KH3), with David Gallagher returning as Riku; D23 deep dive not confirmed. Other notable examples: Square Enix financials (Switch 2 ports success; digital 90%); Digimon Story: Time Stranger highest-ever IP profits; Spider-Man 2 PS5/Steam sales boosted by the Brand New Day movie; THQ Nordic has 12 unannounced games; Blizzard is Xbox’s top-performing studio.

0:57Nick Scarpino:what's up everyone and welcome to kind of funny games daily for monday august 10th 2026 of course i'm your host tim gettys i am joined today by roger percorny it's always great

1:07Tim Gettys:to hide things from nintendo by telling them hey here's where it's gonna be let's hide it though let's hide it though you know we'll get to it yeah i'll be fine we'll about i got something too we'll talk about how are you doing i'm doing good tim been playing some fields of mystery i've been really locked into that uh swung around in spider-man of course you oh my god you're not alone you gotta do it oh of course i did are you kidding me i watched brand new day went home play spider-man immediately watched brand new day again when i played more spider-man i tried to do it this weekend it was just packed packed everywhere i was trying to go to the theater just packed oh dude it's it's nuts it is i mean obviously we've been talking about the box office of it and it is it's absolutely well that's the power spider-man it's one of those things where we shouldn't be surprised but also i am surprised that and i understand the context is very different of where we were at with the pandemic and everything and just like how vibrant theaters are right now in this very moment you know what i mean the back-to-back of like a spider-man a nolan movie like looking forward to a dune 3 and an event it's like there's just like a lot of good also things like obsession and back rooms coming out like supergirl was in there that's true toy story 5 was in there it did really well But anyway, a lot of good stuff there Getting the theater's juices flowing But I go to theater all the time Multiple times a week When I get to live my life the way I want to And the local theater That I go to The Regal At Stonestown It's never been like this They had to make new queues For the concessions Because there's usually Barely lines You have to wait maybe like four or five people in front of you these are lines of like 40 50 people unbelievable throughout the day all hours i'm shocked yeah as i'm driving past the one right by my house it is just this constant line of people coming in from the parking garage walking right to the movie theater it's just it's so cool to see like that's always the barometer for me of like oh it's a good weekend when you see people walking out having a good time but it is just constant lines doesn't matter what time 9 a.m 10 end of the night everybody's always walking to that theater it is it isn't it's a good time but yeah spider-man man swinging around spider-man there's nothing better than that there's simply there's nothing better than it and the thing is not everything has to be ranked but yes it does because that's what life's all about right but it's like i i understand that there's there's this knee-jerk reaction to like like oh this isn't as good as this so therefore whatever so the conversation on spider-man one and two miles miles kind of is its own smaller thing so you know whatever but like one and two the the way that they're talked about i understand that the story in one just is better i understand that the story and two has problems and like all that stuff but swinging around in spider-man 2 it's fucking perfect and i thought it was perfect in one but like man i wish that we could add the like glide to spider-man yeah we could just retroactively add it in there so dude it was so fun because i was playing it but i kind of fucked up because leanza has never played it before she never swung around i was like you got to try this out right and she's trying she's like man my brain just it doesn't work for my brain i just like i can't jump and then after like maybe 30 minutes of her getting really good at it.

4:09Tim Gettys:I went to the settings. I'm playing around things. I'm like, oh, sorry. Swinging assist was completely off for you. So I had it on super hard mode the way that the fucking super game was due on the internet. And then she figured it out eventually. And then I turned it back on. She was swinging, going crazy. That's great. Yeah, no, that game is awesome. I mean, I do love that the swinging is so fun. But at the end of the day, it's fun when you just hold forward and hold R2. And you're just going, man. It's so stylish. It's so cool. Yeah. Oh, man. Oh, man. You okay? You know?

4:43Hold on a sec Give me one sec Is your doc too long? Is it 15 pages? There is a long doc today There is a long doc He's looking for something

4:53Tim Gettys:I'm looking for something

4:55Nick Scarpino:God damn it it's causing me problems It's okay everybody You know what I'm not going to go down the path Darkness I'm not I won't But we'll talk later okay if you're watching live remember to be part of the show by super chatting on youtube.com slash kind of funny games we couldn't do this without our producers on patreon.com slash kind of funny so thank you to carl jacobs omega buster delaney the som twining and lax nomad chat i'm just gonna tell you not today not today okay not today today is not the day okay be nice to me leave me alone i am on my fucking breaking point but for now let's begin with what is and forever will be the rover report it's time for some news we have hella stories today okay i don't even know exactly how many doesn't it's 10 we have 10 but it's like i don't know that we're gonna get to them all some of them are small some of them are big we might read one sentence from one and then skip it yeah we'll figure it out make it we news we'll see what's going on but it's going to be fun because we're starting with one of my favorite things on the planet final fantasy 7 a new look at final fantasy 7 revelation hosted by its director will take place at Gamescom Opening Night Live.

6:08Nick Scarpino:This comes from Chris Scullion at VGC. Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will appear during Gamescom's Opening Night Live presentation, the next edition of producer Jeff Keighley's annual stage show, which is set to take place on Wednesday, August 25th at 11 a.m. Pacific. Of course, we will be live reacting to it here at Kind of Funny. I can't wait. Gamescom Opening Night Live, never the biggest show for, like, crazy announcements and stuff. But definitely the longest. definitely the longest but I do feel in the last couple years they've been a bit more forthcoming leading in of what to expect to be there like this like cool we're gonna see Final Fantasy 7 that's awesome it's now been confirmed that one of the show segments will involve a new look at the game Square Enix also says that director Naoki Hamaguchi will be involved in this section suggesting it'll be more than just a trailer and may involve an onstage interview with the possibility of other announcements which I'm gonna stop right there that's very exciting that is awesome but they need i hope it's an improvement over what they did at summer game because they over presented that bit yeah you know there's a lot of trailer starts and stops the translation it's just like it's difficult to to nail what they're trying to go for here yeah um so i'm interested in what they're going to do my gut tells me they're going to do the exact same thing

7:23Tim Gettys:okay okay what do you think uh i mean yeah i'm sure they will do the exact same thing what is your dream scenario is it literally they just they bring them up hey everybody he says a few lines And then now that there's trailer, we're just do go into that. And then we leave. Like, what do you, what would you want? The master of hypes? Not so. I don't know. I mean, the thing is, I just want more of the game. And like, I, I don't need much more. Like I could not see a single thing for this game. And I'm, I'm as hyped as I'm possibly going to be for this. There are some reveals they could make that would be like intriguing and exciting.

7:53And like a way of like, Oh, what are the, how are they going to do that? And they've kind of even been teasing a bit. Like a lot of, again, I'm a good. She's been doing these interviews. I keep saying this, but I cannot stress enough how special this game series is and this man and his team are where they were able to back to back put out these games in a relatively short clip. It's at the quality that they are figuring out porting to as many systems as possible and navigating the deals and exclusivity and PlayStation and all of that stuff while also doing the longest PR press run of all time.

8:27I swear to God, he's doing an interview every day, dropping something worth talking about. Like, it's wild how excited he is to talk about the game that the team has created. Yeah. And willing and open he is to kind of get into it and also not spoil things. Like, they have an understanding of how special these characters and story are to people. And so I feel like they just do a really good job of, like, really preserving the, like, culture of Final Fantasy VII. Yeah. know and like and making it as important as it is to a lot of people and and understanding that

9:02Tim Gettys:like the audience knows how special this is so you don't have to overhype it like you can just explain what this is and people would be very excited for it you don't gotta go out there say this is gonna be the greatest thing ever it's like no let me just give you a few tidbits and

9:12Nick Scarpino:people are gonna latch on to that and be very excited exactly so yeah moving on to answer your question about the hype it's like there's the we're talking about one of the hypest video game soundtracks of all time so it's like i don't think we're gonna get any type of musical performance at this uh gamescom opening night live but like even just leading in with just like any type of the hype song and there's so many hype songs that's the type of stuff i'm looking for that would get me you know blood pumping like hell yeah types of shit but yeah uh we already just know so much that it's like i i feel like it would have to be some wild stuff that gets the pop-off moments but at the same time i don't need that in the marketing at this point like let's save that for the the actual game because we're months away from it right that's so wild

9:53Tim Gettys:to say.

9:55Nick Scarpino:In a recent interview, Hamaguchi told players that the base game will mark the definitive end of the trilogy's story and that anyone worried it'll get some sort of epilogue DLC should rest assured it won't. An Epic Game Store listing found by Dataminers last month suggested that Final Fantasy VII Revelation will indeed be getting extra story content as an apparent list of DLC included a quote, story expansion pass. We talked about that when that happened a couple months ago. According to Hamaguchi, however, were the game to ever get any extra DLC, it would be a spit-off story rather than an extra chapter added on to the end of the main story.

10:27Nick Scarpino:The story will be concluded within the main game. We're serious about concluding the series with Final Fantasy VII Revelation, and we're proceeding with development with that goal in mind. If we were to hypothetically release any DLC, we would likely want to create a kind of spinoff focused on a specific character that depicts their untold stories, kind of like what we did with Yuffie with Final Fantasy VII episode intermission, and I think there was demand for it among fans. So in case we end up considering making a DLC, this is the kind of thing that we'd likely attempt to do. um so yeah who is it oh it's vincent and it's durge of cerebus yeah yeah i i think so i and that's the thing too is like they because we get so many of these interviews like there's consistency and how they're talking about at the same time even within this it's like there won't be dlc but there will be dlc and it's just not going to be like it's like okay so there is like you called a spinoff but it's just it is just more content you're talking very specifically about something um but the good thing is we have specific track record for that like there there There was the Final Fantasy VII Remake DLC.

11:23So him saying it would literally be like that, he's spelling it out for us of what it's going to be. And I think that that is exciting. I also think it's great that they're talking about this game's going to end in Revelation. And by that, the story. We know what that means. The remake process of Final Fantasy VII will be done. I fully believe we're going to get a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy. Really? I don't know how long down the line that's going to be, but I do. I do think that we'll get that. we also have a lot of the the compilation of final fantasy 7 stuff so advent children judge of cerebus we already have crisis core um reunion yeah that they put out a couple years ago so uh there's been hints that some of the advent children stuff will be kind of put into this already there's been some things in remake and rebirth kind of like going that way so i'm

12:09Tim Gettys:interested in what that all looks like yeah i mean that that's so interesting to think about like because i i love how fast they've put these games out back to back to back but i do also think that like having it come out back to back to back so fast like the hype kind of lessens a little bit i know once the game comes out it's gonna be super fucking exciting and especially when people dig into it but like it's like almost like the avatar thing right where like you have the hype for like avatar one comes out holy shit it's the biggest thing in the world 10 years in between the next one and then avatar two to three right not to compare no you're right but like it's like it's that hype factor of like people want to wait a little bit this reason why spider-man is so big right now it's because people had to wait five years in between these games so i'm happy that it's coming out so fast but i do i'm interested to see like hey what if we do a sequel to final fantasy 7 10 years from now right like that would be fucking generational i will say like devil's advocate to that a bit it's that the it's not like these are coming out year after year right it's like they're they're what we're what are we talking 2020 2022 now 2027 so it's like 2022 yeah like it has been a handful of years right um but i i feel you in the sense of just like it just feels like like you've even seen the trailer we knew it was coming so it's like that impact of like i think we also we also like because it took so long to get that remake so we all expected this to be forever so like the fact that it's only four years is like insane in video game triple a term absolutely uh with dlc in between as well for the the first one at least but um yeah i i'm really

13:35Nick Scarpino:excited barrett there's a link here that i'd like you to to bring up 2024 um yeah rebirth of 2024 shit yeah that's crazy okay um there's uh this character that you actually might know right okay

13:49Tim Gettys:because you played uh crisis core reunion yes i did so uh there's a character named genesis in it he is like one of the villains in in crisis core very uh over the top flamboyant character uh wears a red jacket and he's portrayed by this uh very very famous uh artist named i don't know how to say it but i think it's gawked okay and uh gawk's been tweeting gawk's been on social media

14:14Nick Scarpino:he's been on x uh posted a real wearing genesis genesis's outfit with one of his songs playing in the background and even though these photos are old he posted them four days ago and not long before revelation was announced at summer game fest he shared a photo from a recording studio said it'd been more than 10 years since he last recorded his voice so it's like oh holy shit it's happening it's fucking happening uh how i don't really know yeah and like the fact that we're now in the final part of the game it's like going to be interesting but also how are they going to get zach in the game they did it and it was weird in a lot of ways and now we're getting to this

14:49Tim Gettys:final part and zach's still on the cover of the game what is your confidence level in this being a satisfying conclusion that makes you feel like hey we did it we did the thing and it isn't just a lot of gobbledygook and you know just a little messy i am in 10 out of 10 confident that it is going to complete the story that they have been telling okay i do not think that that story is going to make everyone happy in fact i know it won't yeah but i think that they've set something up of what this world and what these characters are and it is messy it's going to end messy but it's going to end definitively yeah i think that they will have answers to the questions that they've set up um so i i personally like trust them because like i've enjoyed the ride so much i'm also the type of guy that like i it infuriates me when people uh say that across the spiderverse like just like didn't have arcs and that it was an incomplete movie it's like it had a cliffhanger we know the next one's coming similar thing with rebirth where it's just like we got one more like we know we're going to get one and it ended in a fairly messy way but it also left us with like interesting stuff where it's a remake of an old game so we kind of know where things are going but there was just enough of a twist without spoiling the actual end of rebirth and i'm like where the fuck are they going with this yeah um so i'm thrilled i'm excited i can't freaking wait to see how they answer it all um and at the end of the day final fantasy 7 rebirth specifically it was about the journey more than it was about like the actual end or the or the story even it's like the moments with the characters it's seeing tifa and erith like hang out together it's how faithful they were to remaking every aspect of those games but at least the core plot and narrative of it and like dynamics of who's doing what where and all that stuff in the most over produced way possible yeah and i say this with complete love and like as somebody who i actually kind of hate the idea of like people saying filler like filler arcs or whatever because i do think that that's like where a lot of the meat is exactly when it comes to like understanding these characters right where like i personally didn't necessarily love like the entire experience as much as everyone else did but i enjoyed like hanging out with these characters and being and to the point where now with the next one coming out i'm like oh i understand each of these characters on a deeper level than i wouldn't have if we skipped over this this whole game so i'm happy that we actually we still have that that game right there so totally and uh queen's blood queen's blood man it's back oh it's back it's back it's back baby they never spin that spin

17:17Nick Scarpino:that off i cannot one day one day that they'll figure that out but well uh man that day is not today but today is the day for story number two oh new kingdom hearts for details revealed early through the d23 app i love this this comes from brent co-op at vice they have a whole app for d23 yeah because it's for people going there like you can schedule panels you're going to and like all that stuff that's cool you know they have apps for everything roger uh new kingdom hearts for details were just revealed early through the d23 app ahead of the deep dive into kingdom hearts panel if they love that shit on august 15th the disney app confirmed new information about kh4 that was previously unknown disney's hosting its annual d23 event next week which is this week and the team behind kingdom hearts is going to be there While Square hasn't confirmed whether KH4 will specifically be shown during the deep dive into Kingdom Hearts panel, new information about the RPG has been revealed through the app.

18:10Nick Scarpino:According to the app, Kingdom Hearts 4 will be co-directed by Tai Yasu, who previously worked on Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, 3D Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts 3. The app said the developer's involvement is that he's the co-director of Kingdom Hearts 4. He's now one of the bilingual video game developers at Square Enix Japan Studios. The app also confirmed that several returning cast members will reprise key roles. Key roles.

18:35Tim Gettys:Keyblade.

18:36Nick Scarpino:Most notably, David Gallagher will return to voice Riku. None of this is earth-shattering news. It is information that had not previously been confirmed. However, it might also hint that we're getting a Kingdom Hearts 4 preview at D23. At the time of writing, it's not been confirmed. It'll be there, so we don't know. But we can stay tuned because they say, Join us for a journey through light and darkness as we commemorate 25 years of Kingdom Hearts. Damn, I'm old. Discover how this saga united Disney, Pixar, and Square Enix with insights from the creative minds, character voices, and more behind the magic.

19:07Nick Scarpino:This is Saturday, August 15th at 4.30 p.m. Pacific. So for now, fans should keep their expectations in check as neither Disney or Square has confirmed it'll be there. But.

19:17Tim Gettys:And not live streamed, right? None of these things are live streamed. I don't know if they've confirmed this year. I doubt this one will be. But if there's something that drops, I imagine they will post it immediately. But they did live stream the D23 one, the Disney Studios one. Because I remember seeing... Or was that just like the Kevin Feige thing? All along. And they sang the song, the Witch's Road song. And then they announced... I thought that was just like Kevin Feige and the green screen. And they did like, here's the Disney Plus shows. No, that was different.

19:47Nick Scarpino:I'm talking about the thing where they announced Tron Aries. and then they announced nine inch nails that was hype yeah but then the movie happened yeah it's crazy yeah um i think that we'll see kingdom hearts here we've seen kingdom hearts at d23 before the fact that kingdom hearts showed itself at the nintendo directs during the summer

20:06Tim Gettys:was like whoa i'll never forget you'd be like here this one absolutely nuts but uh yeah i do think because of that they're they're kind of back in the let's start revving up the engines here and we've we've gotten d23 kingdom hearts trailers before i'm pretty sure that's where we saw

20:24Nick Scarpino:the toy story world for the first time in kingdom hearts 3 and it's also where we saw the first look at the star wars stuff in kingdom hearts 4 but it was very very oh yeah like the back of like an end door right it was like a footprint of one of the walkers um but yeah i imagine we'll

20:43Tim Gettys:get something and then i'm assuming just a trailer just gets launched at the same time but i imagine it'll be a trailer that goes public and i imagine it will show off a disney world okay like do you think we get a date how deep are we going with this i don't i don't think so i think because they're showing a lot of this game if they're not going to show a date or talk about the year or any of that i mean maybe a year yeah maybe just next year but like i i think especially with final fantasy 7 revelation not having a date yet it's just spring i do wonder if we're going to get that date at gamescom yeah is that part of the news that they're going to have um because like it's I said this to you on a show a couple weeks ago but like when Rebirth came out the preview I did was September and that game ended up coming out in the end of February so if we are in that timeline like I imagine we'll be playing this game fairly soon I wonder if it's going to be playable Gamescom I feel like they would have said that already maybe yeah I feel like that's a hey everybody come play this go to Gamescom yeah I am I agree I think that we're probably going to see something from kingdom hearts 4 but like it is i feel like we're we're seeing it at nintendo we're seeing it here has to be we have to be moving to a place where like are we talking the end of next year the middle of next year like has to be next year right it doesn't have to it does not happen really yeah no okay as far as i'm concerned it's showing up the nintendo direct might as well the first time it was shown okay because like it's just very similar shit to what they showed before yeah um gameplay there's a clear marketing cycle of kingdom hearts where it's like they get the world reveals right so we're gonna get that stuff um but my money is on next year i i do think that uh kingdom hearts is the type of game that doesn't it doesn't need to be a summer game doesn't need to be a fall game or spring what traditionally is it i think it's kind of been all over the place um i i could be wrong about that but i'm pretty sure kingdom hearts 3 was a like april okay i think um and i the other ones were so long ago yeah you know it's such a splintered franchise in terms of uh what platforms they're on and and if they include a number in their name or not sometimes a lot of numbers sometimes they got fractions it's crazy yeah i was i had a call with one of my best friends um from high school and he was just giving me the whole spiel and explanation behind the what was it the leaked intro for the mobile game right that got leaked recently and he was explaining all that to me and how that connects to four and i just like i i almost muted him i was like i don't know what the fuck is going on it's a lot man and i i'm happy for

23:08Nick Scarpino:the people out there i'm excited i'm excited for everybody i'm excited for everybody uh you know what oh come on tim let's take a word from our sponsor you know what i love finding an indie game early telling everybody to play it and then six months later everyone acting like they discovered it first well if that's your thing i've got something for you kinetic publishing is a brand new indie publishing label born from the success of Kinetic Games and Phasmophobia. Story number three A is what I'm calling this one. Square Enix had their financial little report. You know what I mean? They had to report to people. They're just like, check it out. That's what they call it officially, their little report. And Stealth40K over on Twitter has some highlights that I want us to look through because there's some fun tidbits here.

26:18Nick Scarpino:Square Enix announced that the HD games segment grew due to sales of new games and older games. This is, of course, the follow-up to the last couple years of Square, changing how they are thinking, like, bucketing their projects and stuff. And the HD games is kind of their, essentially, what they consider the main line of video games series. And the segment grew due to sales of new games and older games. They're definitely prioritizing bringing more games to Switch 2. They're finding a lot of success porting games or just new games launching on the Nintendo Switch 2, which is not a surprise.

26:49Tim Gettys:Yes, and also, they're incredible. like they're they're swear enix is doing the best switch two ports you think so i think so out of all the publishers their stuff is really incredible and i think it's on par with ps5 what are the examples uh the uh dragon quest one the new dragon quest 3d one i remember playing that at the event and then switching over to the switch version of it and i was just like man this is incredible 60 fps it looked incredible so yeah they're doing a great job over there uh then another thing here

Read the full transcript

27:11Nick Scarpino:physical versus digital sales we got physical at 9.8 percent and digital at 90 percent at this point this is an increase of 4.1 percent year over year trending more and more towards the digital side um which does not surprise me square specifically on the the switch side they're full in on the game key cards even when they can make games work uh on the card they seem to not want to do that because they want all the money they can possibly get and then square enix is doing better than they have the last few years thanks to increased game sales they are consistently profitable again this is the first time this has been the case in a couple years so i think their multi-platform strategy is definitely paying off for them and then the last one here is square specifically called out final fantasy 7 rebirth and the adventures of elliot for showing solid performance last quarter um specifically because of the switch to and xbox and pc sales boost that they they saw from that but that is really really good to hear especially in the context of you know square i mean infamously i'd say being the example we use of expectations just being completely out of whack where the new story is oh wow final fantasy 16 final fantasy rebirth sold x millions of copies square is not happy and it's like this doesn't add up i feel like that's been for decades

28:31Tim Gettys:now i feel like i remember like what was the tomb raider and sleeping dogs like all these things millions of copies didn't hit the exactly so like with that all being true it's like it's good to see that those games in in ways like reports and stuff but then also moving forward to just like that's their strategy is just be everywhere which we're also seeing major success from capcom doing right like capcom and square being healthy putting out quality titles everywhere is just good for video games and gamers period yeah um and their their output has been very very solid and i think that uh they've been talking about less is more kind of in terms of amount of games coming out and i don't feel like we've really seen that yet it feels like square is putting a game out every week yeah i feel like they're better than they were yeah i mean there was a dragon quest have we gotten yeah how many hd2d things have we gotten yes but remember when they would just we would just we can like do the game where we just make up a square unix title and it was real right like that we're that far away from that with adventures of elliot you know yeah but that's like a real game i feel like that's like as close to a real version of that as we can possibly find missing hg2d it hasn't real story it's not a great game but it's still so you're just saying it's i'm like it's not the farming games it's not like the random ones that were games aren't real games you heard it here first wow you heard it here everybody uh story 3b sticking with some more

29:51Nick Scarpino:fun sales stuff we got some digimon sales stuff and i saw this and it tickled me roger tickled me this info here bandai namco this comes from gankee japan's twitter account bandai namco says Digimon story Time Stranger helped record highest ever profits for the Digimon IP even surpassing the 2000 anime thanks to the combined success of the digital game and the card game the Digimon IP has recorded highest ever profits for the Bandai Namco

30:16Tim Gettys:group that's passing the profits of the 2000 anime that's just wild

30:20Nick Scarpino:I mean that's so so cool I love Digimon is just relevant at all I saw a dude wearing a Digimon shirt yesterday and I'm like damn dude that's awesome which mon was it? It was like the entire Ogumon line You shoved him in a locker I was just like this is fucking sick I love Digimon Did you ask him what we're going to do together tomorrow No Stop We don't do that I'm angry today I'm not sad today Don't make me cry on this show I almost figured I'm just saying that I can't think about it without crying

30:54Tim Gettys:I don't know what the fuck you guys are talking about Talking about the end of Digimon There's the ending of Digimon It ended? Last Kizuna? I'm legit kind of tearing up thinking about it. It is the fucking saddest thing I've ever seen. The saddest media I've ever seen in my entire life was Toy Story 3, where every time I see it, I cry. It was eclipsed by the end of Digimon, Last Evolution, Kizuna, or whatever the fuck it's called. Dude, it's so good. Oh, my God. It's so good. That's incredible. We'll shout out to that. Shout out to Digimon Story, Time Stranger, though. Yeah, shout out to them.

31:23That's rad. Yeah. a Digimon game actually hitting on a grand scale and like performing well critically and sales wise

31:31Tim Gettys:never thought I'd see the day yeah I mean sometimes it's all a franchise needs right because you have the nostalgia people have grown up now they can afford to buy video their own video games you've seen a good one you've seen a good one to kind of reinvent a franchise so hell yeah because they had a lot of games and like I remember I was as big of a Digimon fan as I was I was there day one for Digimon world on the PlayStation one yeah and there are diehard fans of that game like that is the definition of cult classic. That shit was not for me. My digital model was pooping everywhere. The poop was way too graphic.

32:00Tim Gettys:Oh, really? Real graphic shit. Oh, yeah. And it's not digital shit? Well, it is digital shit. But it looks like human shit? It looks like a little like an ice cream. Is it brown? Of course it's brown. Don't ask a stupid question. I don't know. It's gonna be. I don't know. The orange one, maybe it's orange. I don't know. No, it's brown. Damn, that sucks. story 3c here it's a cartoon coil i've never heard someone dude it was a cartoon coil yeah barrett can you actually look up digimon world poop yeah let's look at that let's look at that really quick little digi uh well i'll tell you about some fun spider-man sales news going back

32:35Nick Scarpino:to what we were talking about at the top of the show here um this comes from reese elliot at uh is it alinea analytics is that what we're going with elinia elinia i'm not so sure no elinia oh look see there was an orange poop there is an orange poop fuck you poop damn you're right fucking tim yeah but there's brown poops there's brown poop yeah look at that shit

32:56Tim Gettys:kind of looks like a pyramid it's not a lot of poop man uh yeah it doesn't have like a steamy thing on it i hate when they do that grosses me out yep

33:03Nick Scarpino:there's sound effects and everything uh the new spidey movie has been given a massive lift to spider-man 2 on playstation 5 and steam so far spider-man 2 has sold another 316 000 copies since Brand New Day hit cinemas on July 30th, generating 11 million plus dollars across PlayStation 5 and Steam in under two weeks. Wow. That's crazy to think about, right? That's really cool. Like 316 ,000 copies. It's like you hear that. That's a lot. You're like, well, it's not a million. Yeah. But then it's like$11 million. Good for them. Man, about 20 % of the film window PS5 copies were physical and another 274 ,000 players jumped in for the first time via PlayStation Plus.

33:42Nick Scarpino:In total, Spidey 2 has slung its way past 18.2 million copies sold, with 92 % on the PlayStation 5, and over$1.2 billion made since launching three years ago. This past weekend, it topped a million daily active users for the first time since launch week, roughly 2.6 times its pre-film daily engagement. We keep talking about this, but when there is a show adaptation that people are into, it results in the game being played more, the game being sold more. and so far that's been without fail like we look we've talked about it so much with cyberpunk we've talked about it with the witcher we've talked about it with devil may cry we've talked about it now with spider-man like there's just so much synergy between all the stuff yeah fallout like

34:26Tim Gettys:yeah huge yeah it's it's also it's also awesome that like insomnia continues to every time there's a new movie hey it doesn't matter how old it is whatever we're updating it we're adding the new suit we talk tokon fighters adding the new suit like we know what we're doing here and yeah i i am just so blown away and so happy that we have a spider-man game that feels as good and also is influencing the movies right i think that's also a big part of this is that like you see the internet rhetoric and the rhetoric the videos and the memes and everything of like yo brand new day he is moving like insomnia x spider-man and like you see those going viral all the time those clips are so

35:01Nick Scarpino:sick so cool and it is one-to-one you know i am i am the most annoying person to watch movies with if you're gia harris uh gettys i guess um just fucking deal with it now um but like i you know i'm the guy that's just like did you know this did you know that like like this is a reference to this like this color this this outfit like yeah that's just me for everything when he's

35:21Tim Gettys:grabbing the thing it's like in spider-man 3 with the ring and he's doing the thing yeah exactly it is so that and like she's she's she humors me um or she's there for it there's a arranged right it's like some combo depends on the day uh but i was telling when we left brand new day i was like dude so much of that is straight from the video game so many of the moves are straight from the video game and then i showed her that like one of the clips that you're talking about that are the direct comparisons and she was actually impressed yeah like genuinely she was like oh wow like she's like you i thought you were just saying like oh it's kind of like it it's like no that is straight from the game like literally and it's perfect synergy and i think that there's like we're in this great place right now with the director with like the way that they're doing this where it's like hey we someone already made an awesome spider-man that moves incredibly that people like are really into why don't we just take from that why don't we just make this one big thing where we're just synergizing because they've already done the work let's just let's just ape off of it let's work onto it and let's talk about it yeah synergy you bring that word up and i think it's interesting because we're seeing a lot of it obviously like these sales are great this like spider-man is a multi-year-old game but it's making 11 million dollars more because of this movie i wonder if it's ever possible to actually have a fallout game come out when the fallout show is happening or have a spider-man game come out when spider-man is happening right it's just like yeah the one recent example that is the avatar fighting game which came out when the movie yeah but that but that also that was a disaster that was a whole that's like yeah it's just that's i'm talking about you want the triple a thing coming out with the triple a movie at the same time and it's like i wonder if that's even the right move like i wonder like what is the the ideal is there a month between it is there like do you leave it a year between it i don't know or is it what nintendo's doing which is about seven months in between right because we're going to have the zelda movie and then seven months before that we're probably going to have the um yeah ocarina of time remake that's what they did for mario uh i think for uh galaxy it came out the remake not remake the port or whatever it came out about six seven months yeah yeah right so i think that that is probably the best option there is to like get the hype oh we're talking about we're not talking about the movie yet talk about the movie and then people can go back and buy the thing star fox is a different example there yeah that was afterwards right but yeah i don't know it's just it's it's impossible because of the way games are developed versus movies like to to actually like tie that up it's like that'll never never happen yeah and it's also like if you do a dlc it's cool but it's also like not the same thing right but i think that it's cool that like hey the movie comes out oh now you can play the the costume in the game i think that's a nice little interesting thing.

37:46Tim Gettys:I don't love the costume in the game, though. It's close, but it's not there. It doesn't have the bagginess of it. And some of the costumes do have the bagginess. So it's like, I don't know why they didn't fully do that.

37:57Nick Scarpino:Yeah, I guess my biggest... I love that it's in the game.

37:59Tim Gettys:Me too.

38:00Nick Scarpino:I love it in the movie. Fucking love it. But my biggest problem is it looks very similar to other ones in the game, and I prefer those.

38:06Tim Gettys:Yeah.

38:06Nick Scarpino:Even the one that they showed at the ending,

38:08Tim Gettys:the one that they updated. Yeah, the No Way Home. I like that one more. It's shinier. Yeah, exactly. I like the shiny ones in the game because like the reflections and stuff. It looks cool. It does look really cool.

38:18Nick Scarpino:Yeah. Yeah. Let's get to story number four here. THQ Nordic says it has 12 unannounced games in development. This comes from Chris Scullion at VGC. The Austria-based publisher held its latest THQ Nordic digital showcase on Friday. And we didn't even know what was happening, but it did. Yeah. As of today, THQ Nordic has a total of 29 games in development. 12 remain unannounced after this showcase. Wow. Although the publisher didn't list the 17 games already confirmed, VGC has done the work. They put together the list of games, ports, or early access titles currently confirmed to be releasing at a later date.

38:51Nick Scarpino:We have Call to Arms, Panzer Elite, Darksiders 4, Epic Mickey Rebrushed for the Switch 2, The Eternal Life of Goldman, which my god.

39:01Tim Gettys:Where the fuck is that game?

39:02Nick Scarpino:Where is that game? We haven't released it? No. They dropped a new trailer, still just saying 2026. It's weird. What is happening? What is happening? with this game. I want it so bad.

39:12Tim Gettys:I do really want it. But I'm getting scared where I'm like, real talk, I don't want it this year. I don't think it comes this year at this point. I mean, they said it. They said it two days ago, three days ago. All right, man. I'm with you though, Barrett. THQ Nordic will never lie. If it was actually coming this year though, they would have put a date on it. Dog, it's August. Shadow Drop somewhere, Nintendo Direct type deal. It was in the last Nintendo Direct with no update.

39:36Nick Scarpino:It was wild. It's interesting. Expeditions Samurai, fate keeper gothic one remake gothic two complete classic gothic three classic wow that's incredible the guild europa 1410 let's sing 2027 let's sing abba road 96 sequel space for sale titan quest 2 way of the hunter 2 and wreck fest 2 wow reality oh yeah barrett brings up no new spongebob platformer yeah but that's definitely

40:08Tim Gettys:in development destroy destroy all humans five remake again no they'll they'll remake the third one path of the fear on ah shit we're still remaking these fuckers don't ask me why just make a new one bless you we had a four though we had a destroy all humans four correct i think that was the 360 one no that was path of the fear on you're thinking destroy all there is a weird one that was like wow there's not a four it's like the time i i imagined that i saw gameplay of shadow of the Hedgehog 2 and for literally a decade I was like you remember the time on G4 like Shadow of the Hedgehog was driving a fucking car and we looked at it like no that's not a real thing so yeah I totally thought that Destroy All Humans 4 came out okay yeah we gotta do that

40:51Nick Scarpino:we don't

40:51Tim Gettys:we gotta Destroy All Humans 4 we gotta do it man highlights

40:55Nick Scarpino:from the THQ Nordic showcase included the news that The Prisoner the first of three story DLC releases for co-op horror game Re-Animal is available now it was also announced the developer DigiArt which released Tides of Tomorrow earlier this year, is working on a new game in the Road 96 universe. Expedition Samurai also launched into Early Access on Friday, while Titan Quest 2, which launched in Early Access during last year's THQ Nordic Showcase, received a major update. They also confirmed that Let's Sing 2027 will release on November 3rd, while Let's Sing ABBA will be coming to Switch 2 on the same date.

41:25Nick Scarpino:On the same date. Shout out to ABBA. Just as a concept.

41:29Tim Gettys:I don't know much about them, but I will watch Mamma Mia. I'll figure it out. One day. One day I will. one day we will do mama me and review i don't know when but we will we'll do it for joey we'll do it

41:38Nick Scarpino:for elise story number five blizzard is now the top performing xbox studio says internal emails as the overwatch maker ends fiscal year 26 over delivering on microsoft's projections this comes from jez cordon at windows central in leaked emails verified by windows central blizzard president joanna ferris uh celebrated the xbox division's stunning return to growth over delivering on expectations ahead of blizzcon 2026 free from the reins of activision blizzard now operates as a limited integration entity within microsoft's xbox division and the results well and truly speak for themselves overwatch is arguably better than ever with a razor sharp focus on fan feedback and new content world of warcraft still has issues with its writing and polish but the content cadence has never been so consistent.

42:28Nick Scarpino:Genre-defining franchise Diablo has also seen a stunning return to form with an overhaul of the endgame loop atop a truly spectacular expansion in the form of Lord of Hatred. All of that painstaking hard work has seemingly paid off. A new email sent by Blizzard president to the staff this past weekend celebrated the division's roaring return to growth. The president opened the email rallying the team ahead of BlizzCon, set to go live in Anaheim on September 12th, saying the weekend will reflect the bold and collaborative work of everyone reading this. It's my hope that the event can shine a light on the work underway at Blizzard and that it can serve as a powerful springboard into a new era of momentum and excitement behind our mission to bring joy and belonging for communities worldwide.

43:07Nick Scarpino:They also said that Blizzard's performance through fiscal year 26, which just ended for Microsoft with Xbox 11 % down overall, owing to some big franchises like Call of Duty and Candy Crush having a difficult year. That's bad, y 'all. That's really bad when those two ones are having a difficult year. While Xbox overall has struggled Blizzard's one area that continues to thrive and grow. In fiscal year 26, Blizzard ended the year as the top performing studio in Xbox Studios division, and this past year has marked our third highest fiscal for top line revenue in Blizzard history. Fiscal year 25 and 6 were our first back-to-back years of growth since 17.

43:42Nick Scarpino:Diablo 4, Lord of Hatred, and Overwatch drove exceptional performance in particular with Overwatch delivering its strongest quarter since 2022. too. This news comes against a fairly negative backdrop at Xbox over the summer. Blah, blah, blah. There's some other stuff there. In September, BlizzCon will offer a glimpse at the near and long-term future of Blizzard's universes. We should see the next Warcraft expansion, dubbed The Last Titan, revealed in full. I've heard Blizzard is working on a variety of mobile game spinoffs with partners too, as well as potential transmedia projects similar to Cyberpunk Edgerunners or the Fallout TV show for its own franchises.

44:15Blizzard is also known to be working on a StarCraft third-person shooter led by Far Cry director Dan Hay and the next core Diablo project also moving forward I didn't know about that I didn't know it was real the third party thing yeah yeah third person thing yeah interesting pretty cool yeah very hopefully see that soon yeah I'd like it's gone I would like that I like the world of Starcraft a lot I never could get into the

44:36Tim Gettys:RTS gameplay of it what are they like looking at quadrant oh I'm at 4x yeah is it 4x is that what 4x is I think so wow I thought 4x was like civilization that's not that either I don't know anything guys i could be wrong what does 4x stand for am i wrong four by four oh no i'm just lying okay i thought 4x was like that's the speed in which you play i don't know i don't know what does 4x mean 4x is not 4x say this 4x okay see yeah i knew it but what is 4x tell me let us know everybody what is the forces otter cox is expand exploit explore comma there's one more explore exploit exterminate expand okay interesting he's very interesting um yeah this whole email just kind of feels sad to me because it feels like this is like please do not lay us off like i mean this is like literally the last like this is they did not have any layoffs that i know of from the last uh big layoff thing and now they have what another 1600 jobs that they're about to cut by the uh i think by the next quarter so yeah i i feel like this is kind of like hey we're doing really great let's make sure we leak this to the press to let everyone know like we're doing awesome so then you know with this pushback or maybe there's some hesitation to to cut all of our uh jobs that are happening here so yeah it's it's sad and it is it is exciting for blizzcon but i i just worry because i mean that's what happened last time after xbox's big showcase big showcase we're doing great awesome new future of xbox massive layoffs right so i i fear for for blizzard yeah

46:05Nick Scarpino:Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, Doom, put out the new DLC, layoffs. Story number six, Doom Dev blasts Xbox after Microsoft gutted id Software with layoffs. This comes from Michael Kripe at IGN. After layoffs ripped through Doom developer id Software in July, lead services programmer Chris Hayes has taken aim at Xbox. They fundamentally don't understand art. Hayes, who is currently employed at the studio behind first-person shooter classics like Doom Eternal and has been with the team since 2010, and unloaded on the recent decision to cut 136 staff during a recent conversation on Auf Einbeer. He didn't mince words, to put it lightly.

46:42Nick Scarpino:Quote, it's hard to make a game that is AAA. That's like we've done before with half the people. And by hard, I mean impossible. It's hard to make a game when there are entire departments that are gutted that you need, entire disciplines that are gone. So if they've got some kind of new plan for how this is going to work, that hasn't been told. We don't know what that is. The reassurances that we're still the same id and we're still going to do things, well, first of all, we're not the same id. We're half the same id. Id was the people. What made us special was the people and the relationships we have.

47:11Nick Scarpino:Excuse me. The reassurances Hayes mentioned at least partially refer to some of the messages that have emerged in the fallout of last month's layoffs. Id issued a statement to IGN July 10th that thanked fans for their support, acknowledging that while the studio had been impacted, the restructuring left it at about the same size we were when making Doom 2016. It added, we still have the crew we need to build the games and tech we're known for It reclaimed its title as the leading FPS studio with 2016 You get that stuff Studio management is given talking heads Sorry, studio management is given talking points on things that are allowed to be said And what is not allowed to be said It feels like it is, instead, more reassurances They don't want people to jump ship and say, oh, there's no more future in id So we're all going to leave And then there's no one left They don't want unrest At the end of the day, most of it was just trying to tell us that oh no everything is fine things will be okay hayes said the reality is that it now houses less than the number of staff that worked on doom 2016 he noted that fans will certainly have their preference in the series but added there's a lot more that went into each of the doom games that went along we made bigger and better games but that's with twice as many people as we had so we have fewer than we had before so we're going to make something equivalent to a single player xbox 360 game because that's the size of the studio we have it has a special place not only the let me get So we're good here on the ground level.

48:28Nick Scarpino:We don't get to know what that is. He said we have guesses just like everyone else. We I know that we have serious issues with how Game Pass is done. Whenever we see the Microsoft financial reports and let's say that there were, you know, poor sales under Bethesda. What's a sale if you have Game Pass? Are you saying that poor sales means poor number of games sold? Because, of course, if you're not you're not doing a game sold business model, they fundamentally don't understand art. They don't. They don't understand art. They don't understand games. They don't understand that business model. this shit's crazy good for him good for him i was shocked when i heard that he's still there good for him for now for now yeah but like man saying it no you got straight up fucking calling it out straight up saying it directly reacting to the statements made and being like no the

49:11Tim Gettys:statements are wrong yeah because i mean specifically that line which is uh has been talked about a lot of like oh we have the same amount of people that we when we shipped 2016 doom i love that he points out one that's not true right like they're probably budging numbers contractors yada yada but then two it's like that was a decade ago like we you're making bigger games inherently than doom 2016 that was a generation ago so for him to call this out it is just it is great and it's also just so sad it's just so bleak because you see it because i have friends in tech and everything when it's like when these massive layoffs happen they they have the plan for the layoffs they have no plan what to do after that people are just floundering they don't know what's going on they don't know what their kpis are they don't know what to even make or do they're literally just sitting there and just they don't even know who to report to like that's how fucked up these companies are when it comes to they know how to lay off people they don't know how to actually lead and to change these things so it is so bleak but i'm so happy he said that

50:04Nick Scarpino:i'm gonna read more because there's more uh they tried better to to sorry where should i start here he said he would love to try to hit the goals that are set for id but those goals aren't even communicated instead they're told to just make the best game we can under xenomax before the acquisition, that was also how it worked for attributing success. If we did well on a score for critical acclaim and we had decently solid sales, but if they weren't meeting expectations, then that's a problem for marketing and sales. If you scored low, you didn't make a good game. They tried better to find that.

50:33Nick Scarpino:That is obviously not how Microsoft is operating. It doesn't make any sense. Asked to elaborate on why Xbox and Microsoft don't understand art, Hayes said, if you cut half a studio and don't actually take into account how it's made, you don't understand that the cohesion between our teams was what was important, what made us successful. we're talking about aid man we're talking about a team that has put out bangers over the last 10 years modern games like reinvented an entire franchise millions and millions and millions

51:03Tim Gettys:of dollars now doom is something that it wasn't before it is now so relevant to so many gamers and now it's just cut and add an incredible engine too and it's like what are they gonna do there what are they gonna do man um all right let's end story number i'm skipping seven and eight okay straight to nine oh straight to nine straight to nine this is this is the part nintendo don't

51:26Nick Scarpino:nintendo don't watch do not watch this don't listen we didn't do this be cool okay there's two things you want to talk about thanks you start with yours donkey kong land has been remade there was a donkey kong land remake uh barrett if you could play the youtube video that'd be really sick because it's really really cool um i i don't know how much you know about this but there's the three donkey kong country games on the super nintendo roger there was also three donkey kong land games on the game boy the original game boy and they were very impressive for what they were trying to do they are not one-to-one but they attempted to be but they had to make a lot of concessions and changes and and different things so there's a lot of different games there's different enemies there's different um like full-on different layouts of levels or like even like backgrounds and environments like you go to um like the donkey kong arcade where it's kind of like the red um scaffolding like you actually like you see here did he run around the outside of a building it's like there are levels that look more like that um so some fans made a remake of it in the style of the super nintendo games fully on incredible you see it there very very cool all the soundtrack on Donkey Kong Land was different than Donkey Kong Country they made it sound like Donkey Kong Country look like Donkey Kong Country play more like Donkey Kong Country it's like it's really really really

52:46Tim Gettys:impressive I truly thought that was official this looks incredible it's very cool this is so cool everyone you can check this out this comes from YouTube creator Kaz Kaz so K-A-S Q-U-E-Z you can check them out and there's a Google Drive link in the YouTube video description if you would like to give this a shot yeah um and then yeah you got a fun one too yeah the next one i saw this uh pop up on my youtube feed yesterday and i want to bring it up it's a breath of the wild vr mod uh that has been being updated i think for a while now but now it's in a really good place i think it's completely you can play the entire game uh in vr on your pc uh yeah so it's an it's an awesome trailer and this this looks awesome i i have not seen like full-on gameplay of it but this trailer is super cool did you see the end of this trailer no oh no

53:33Nick Scarpino:it teases something oh okay can you go there okay wait hold on let's keep on watching really

53:38Tim Gettys:quick because there's a quote here no keep on watching there's a quote here which i just kept on laughing so this one this is something i would say i am like a kid in heaven right now hell yeah like a child that is such a snow bike mike level like i i i think i'm not a kid in a candy store i've died and went to heaven no i'm like a kid in heaven right now that's fucking awesome yes we can go to the ending now sorry but yeah no so that's super cool um but they're not done it's not just zelda that they're doing they're teasing the the next project

54:16Nick Scarpino:they're gonna work on i didn't see this um and that project is mario kart baby oh that's why the comments freaking out okay yeah are you part vr i know it's like i don't know that i need that

54:28Tim Gettys:in my life i mean it was like throwing up everywhere that is insane insane looking that is awesome yeah good for them i love that the vr community is um supporting themselves yeah that's the best way to put it there is there is a something that i do think has to be said here which is there's been such a major influx of these uh fan mods or remakes or whatever you want to call them right and so much ai has been used to make this that's a great call and it's like it's just like it's a little disturbing to see like how quick these things are like popping up out of nowhere um the donkey kong thing they said they said no way there's no ai that it was entirely human generated there's no proof of that but it's just the world we live in now and i i just want to say that i don't know what's up with the zelda thing me neither but yeah um it is it is just like a an interesting place to be because that pokemon thing just littered with ai stuff the pokemon uh mod that everyone was like freaking out over last week they made it look kind of hd2d oh i didn't just keep adding to it you didn't know i don't know why i didn't see it was everywhere every day they had more and more shit to it it looks crazy it was ai that sucks yeah but yeah it's it's so funny because like you just think i i am i had the moment where i look at things i'm like oh this is awesome it's awesome and then like the harsh reality of it yeah yeah man i can't have anything cool roger if we could have cool things that would be big news

55:49Nick Scarpino:but if I wanted something smaller, where would I look?

55:51Tim Gettys:You can go to our last story, the Wii News Channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. It's true.

55:59Nick Scarpino:NBA 2K26 is free to play on Switch and Switch 2 until Thursday, August 13th. Oh, everybody. During this period, players can download the full game and play it. One of those game trials.

56:10Tim Gettys:That's awesome. That's so sick, dude. You can go in there, you can give them microtransactions, and then never play the game again.

56:16Nick Scarpino:Exactly. The Doom Collection will be released on October 30th and is compatible with every Evercade and Hyper Mega Tech Super Pocket device released by the company. The Doom Collection will be released on October 30th. It just copy-pasted that twice. Evercade, it's just like, they made their own console with cartridges. Oh. Yeah, it's one of those, I forget the company that actually did it, but the analog and the Hyperkin and all those, it's one of those types of situations.

56:43Tim Gettys:Oh, cool. Oh, it's super cool.

56:44Nick Scarpino:According to What's on Netflix, while Netflix originally confirmed a release date later this year for season five of The Witcher. It's been delayed to 2027. A payday TV series is moving forward with 50 Cent. It's up to executive produce. All been waiting for it. All been waiting for it. That's it for WeNews.

57:01Tim Gettys:Can you believe that they've went back to payday two? They made payday three. Everyone hated it. So now they've stopped working on payday three and they work on payday two only now. I did not know. Yeah, it's cool. That's cool. I guess. I just see those updates. I'm like, that's crazy that that happens.

57:17Nick Scarpino:I'm going a year wrong right now, and I'm telling you guys. I'm fucking telling you before I even look at this. Not today.

57:24Tim Gettys:You want to fill up Super Chats, too? Not today.

57:25Nick Scarpino:Yeah, we got them, Super Chats. Okay, you got them.

57:33Nick Scarpino:I'm definitely going to read this one from Go-Go Monster Truck. It's Marvel Toke on these nuts.

57:43Nick Scarpino:Kingdom Hearts 3 was January, not April.

57:50Nick Scarpino:kebab says insomniac patched the new movie suit for accuracy give it another spin roger what was it insomniac patched the suit to make it more like the movie last night like i was playing it last night oh i don't know you know what i mean i'll say did it last night

58:04Tim Gettys:did you download any updates before you played it i did i downloaded the full game i had i deleted it i couldn't believe it that is always on my ps5 i don't know what the fuck i downloaded maybe I deleted it and I had to redownload it. I was so mad at myself.

58:18Nick Scarpino:Let's get some super chats here. Armo says, Hey Tim, I upgraded to a PS5 Pro today. What should I play? Spider-Man. You know what I mean, dude? Play Spider-Man. Yeah, swing around Spider-Man. Dropkick Tondo says, I forgot my birthday tax. Here it is. Enjoy your day, everyone. Happy belated birthday. Dropkick.

58:42Nick Scarpino:Aaron Lime says Square Enix announced their fiscal's recently and it's cool to see Elliot in his dumb hat and the mobile Dissidia did way better than anticipated with Final Fantasy 7, Kingdom Hearts 4 Dragon Quest Monsters and Dragon Quest 12 next year will be huge for them yes, yes, yes Christian says Tim with the correct takes on Spider-Man 2 and across the Spider-Verse I appreciate you Christian, we're out there there are dozens of us EJRPG says Square Enix Switch 2 upgrades however consistently prevent moving saves over from one to two that does suck i really hate that shit that sucks i feel like we had this like crazy moment in 2016 about cross save cross play all that stuff and all of a sudden like fortnight was like fuck it we're figuring things out playstation's like what are we gonna do and then all of a sudden here we are now cross play is just expected you just expect things to work a certain way and when they don't you're like what i the fact that we have not

59:32Tim Gettys:figured out like cross save between like a like a standard or some company hasn't come up and said hey you pay us x amount of money you can just have cross save on every console of every game like man like hades figured it out hades between steam and switch like witcher witcher like we should just have we should we just figure it out there's so many save specifically something we got to figure out and like square themselves should figure this out yes especially from a switch one version to a switch two version opposite the fact that final fantasy 10 and 10 2 you the switch two version you can't use your saves from the switch one version what are we talking about Unbelievable Money It's fucking ridiculous That's what we're always talking about And again those Switch 2 ports are really good So it's like it's very weird that that's the thing Yeah And the thing is like I get the money argument I just truly don't believe that in reality I do not see that affecting sales whatsoever Yeah In fact I think it would be a negative impact Of people being like fuck that I'm not buying it Yeah More than anything So weird

1:00:28Nick Scarpino:ScienceDog official says Uh Huh

1:00:35Nick Scarpino:i don't know i don't know i don't know what you're saying here uh deshawn fortune says do you guys want final fantasy 17 to have the seven remake trilogy active time battle system i know that i do i mean honestly yeah i feel like they've been iterating on a system that is incredible so it's like keep that going in some way shape or form like and just keep advancing and changing it they've been like on this path i'd say since final fantasy 13 and they just keep iterating and changing and it has not been stronger than seven remake and rebirth and i feel like that even that rebirth is so much better than remake yeah in terms of uh battle and i think that revelation will be even better out of the job classes so yeah no i'm with you uh marty says on the topic of square shout out to fall fantasy 16 i didn't like it when it originally came out but went back to it on pc and i'm falling in love hashtag tim was right i gotta finish it i fucking love fall fantasy 16 so much and i was giving a shout out last week to re-edit studios uh a youtube channel that are kind of taking video games and trying to turn them into cinematic experiences like like so for final fantasy 7 remake and rebirth they turned it into hour-long hbo style nice uh episodes and same with final fantasy 16 expedition 33 they're turning into 15 22 minute anime style episodes i can report that gia and i have watched episode one she is in we're watching episode two tonight i'm very excited this is it's happening everybody what's the name of them um re-edit studios studios okay very very small youtube channel and it's also very very heartwarming to see all the comments being like kind of funny sent me here kind of funny sent me here kind of funny sent me here y 'all are the best um but i was kind of just skimming through some of the other ones and i ended up watching like an hour of the end of final fantasy 16 i'm just like that final boss fight is so awesome i gotta play it so insane um avaro says it's time tim it's time for your Omnimon to reawaken for your Gallantmon Crimson Mode to enter the battle.

1:02:30Nick Scarpino:It's your DigiDestiny, Tim. I just don't know. That game's just not for me. I've seen enough of it to be like, that game's not for me. I'm a Digimon G1-er in many ways. And even that's not true. I'll dabble with up to Season 3. You know what I mean? 4, I fall off hard. I tried it. I do not like Season 3. which is like the best one actually in terms of like real story and shit but like obviously one or two come on adventure baby ending of one in and of itself unmatched JBC says any chances of a kind of funny big walk stream yes definitely we want to very bad I cannot stress enough to everybody like seriously real talk for a second we I know we always say we're 11 people trying our best and all that stuff right now there's so much going on of just people having things and lives and stuff where it's like we're not 11 people it's way more like we're seven people on any given day that's a good day and the bigger problem there is it's like who those seven people are is inconsistent so planning trying to come up with stuff best laid plans and then they change yeah and i it's really bumming me out and we're trying our best to like just do our best so and this is all like as well leading into top 100.

1:03:56There's just a lot that there's that show possible. Yeah, exactly. A lot of stuff.

1:04:00Nick Scarpino:So yeah, we are. We're trying our best here. And we know we know we want to do what he's written.

1:04:06Tim Gettys:No, Mike, Mike.

1:04:10Nick Scarpino:Mike in the chat says, and I got three hernias. Three. Jesus Christ. Are they all on top of each other? Oh, my God. I don't understand the science of hernias. Also, I think it's two. I don't think he said, you said three. No, you said two to me. Why are you lying? Or did you lie to me? Why are you running? Don't run. So there I was, Tim, on Friday, getting my belly. Ultrasounded. It was a pretty good time. Okay, shout out to Carrie. Pretty fun time, Tim. Pretty fun time. And she goes, oh, my God. Did you know you got a second hernia? And I was like, oh, shit, that's crazy. I didn't know about that.

1:04:47I didn't know about that. And so there I go. On Friday, I go home. We celebrate on stream. I'm like, don't worry, everybody. I got two hernias. I'm alive, baby. Like, it's all good. Get a call from Dr. Ryan. He goes, I was watching the stream, Mike. Just wanted to clarify. No, no, no. You've got to stop. You've got to clarify. There's three hernias. Your doctor's watching your stream? Yeah, shout out to Dr. Ryan, bro. He's a big gamer. He's a great guy. Shout out to Dr. Ryan. And so, like. Is he a doctor? Yeah. So, here's the deal, Tim. I got two on top of the one we already knew about. You know what I mean?

1:05:25And so I have three hernias. But we're here. We're going to play Big Walk, everybody. We're going to make shit happen. Okay. Okay.

1:05:38So it's going to be more like six people every day. Yeah.

1:05:42Nick Scarpino:Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man.

1:05:48Nick Scarpino:I don't mean. What do I do? this is gonna what do i do tim i don't know what do i do with the information that i just heard as a friend as a as a uh a business partner employer fuck man fuck not today people leave me alone yeah mike obviously didn't hear that at the beginning of the show agent atomic says uh today blizzard overperforms financially tomorrow blizzard hit by layoffs let's really hope that's not the case man but you're right short nerdy guy gives us a $10 super chat without anything thank you very much oh wait there might be a secret one in here Gene Jack from Twitch says wait the Dr.

1:06:31Ryan from the giant bomb chat no

1:06:37Tim Gettys:he told me the story where he goes to the doctor the first time and then he like is talking to the guy and then the guy like pulls out his phone dr ryan and says look and it's a notification from kind of funny he's like i thought i recognized you he's like yeah i listen kind of funny i was like of course you of course now he's seen inside him you know and he's listening to the stream and he's giving him like health update dr ryan if you're listening to this you can't please take care of our boy you gotta take care of him and if he needs help that he's not getting break hip hop violations just let

1:07:12Nick Scarpino:figure this out figure that i don't oh my god man oh my god aaron lime says can you confirm the dk land games weren't made with ai a lot of these recent recomps and fan projects are built in ai and that makes it hard to trust like i was saying i can't but i can't confirm that they said that they didn't so what am i gonna do apparently there's dr ryan in the fucking mega 64 chat too so this is the same dr ryan and i imagine it is oh my god or there's a trio of them fuck and they all listen to one different outlet kebab says happy 10th anniversary no man's sky happy happy birthday no man's we love you so much um sergio says do y 'all think the rogue ally x20 will be worth it i don't know man i do think it's going to be a big improvement over the first one but like the price just sound like that to me it's not officially announced right but like it's probably like 1500 i don't know man i don't know that's that's i'm not gonna be buying that i'll tell you that get an ay and thorn play old games

1:08:15Tim Gettys:for the rest of your life like i'm doing i was thinking about getting e gpu for my rog ally one that i have right now said more letters why not you know rog ally x e gpu everyone that's been

1:08:28Nick Scarpino:kind of funny games daily we went a little longer than i wanted to but we covered a lot we had a we had a journey we learned about mike's three hernias three hernias i don't really know how bad one hernia is but but you know three has to i think three like once you get to three it's like

1:08:44Tim Gettys:actually good again you know i mean like it goes the opposite way so it's like yeah the more you have better i do know that my brother had a hernia when he was like eight years old and he had a pet

1:08:54Nick Scarpino:hamster that he named after kevin's mom and uh when he came back from the hospital the hamster was dead all right everybody till next time this has been kind of funny games daily love you all
