3:20Joey Noelle:energy actually no that's a lot i guess i started this morning with the celsius
3:23Tim Gettys:so but you're in the gym getting getting gains right i was in the gym getting but without it you are weekends at burn zing weekend i said i'm weak i think i first said i'm weekend zing at
3:33Joey Noelle:bernie's i was like no that's not what i'm weekend at bernie's myself yeah when i don't have coffee
3:39Tim Gettys:to start my day i'm just a fucking husk of a human being and for the four people under the age of 25 that listen to this show weekend at bernie's is a movie with a guy who died and they had to pretend that he was alive the whole time did they have multiples of those multiple weekend at bernie's that body's got to decompose right well multiple bodies no multiple like weekends at bernie's
4:02Joey Noelle:movies uh um it would i know because like yeah how would you do a multiple because you would have to have another guy named bernie die yeah yeah no so like it would have to be called weekend
4:12Tim Gettys:weekend at paul's yeah oh maybe i'm getting at sasha's you know what i think i'm mixing it up with uh there was two somebody said two damn that body's got smell like shit in part yeah how did that work yeah decomposing i was thinking of earnest earnest goes to camp goes earnest goes
4:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:to christmas you would you imagine that weekend at bernie's 2 they use the roman numeral 2 not the arabic yeah weekends at bernie wow i i can't do that you you deserve like you have to
4:45Tim Gettys:be a bit more of a respected franchise to use the roman numeral 2 how long do you think the second movie took place after the first movie okay i'm gonna i'm gonna say right after taking place a few days after the first film it tells the story of larry and richard once again ending
5:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:up with their late boss's corpse which is targeted by a voodoo queen hired by mobsters who want to find the two million dollars that bernie embezzled okay interesting i won't watch that just everything
5:16Tim Gettys:got a sequel back then yeah that's crazy everybody's getting funding back then let me tell you
5:20Joey Noelle:I uh speaking of weekends this last weekend I booted up this game I'm sure you haven't heard of it Cairn oh booted up Cairn Cairn I here's one of my first world the most of the most first world problems but for us in the job that we do trying to figure out what games to play as they're coming out even more importantly figuring out what games you want to play before they come out for review so that we can talk about them man i wish i picked up cairn man i wish i picked this game up and was there for like the review period because oh playing this game during the weekend i was like i i'm having the feeling of like oh this is immediately special i've only played two hours and i'm locked in into cairn what's this what's going on here well it's just it's a great meme
6:09Tim Gettys:is this from the subreddit where's this yeah this is from the subreddit um it's it's a king of the hill meme of like you know if those kind of funny members could read they'd be very upset oh this goes back to rec can't read well because i you know when we started the show i believe on friday and greg was saying karen and i was like that is okay you've been saying karen and mike and during all the the meetings talking about the streams we were planning kept saying karen i was like i don't think it's karen but yeah we found out that it was just being mispronounced for a couple of weeks or whatever is that is it a mouth feel thing no i think it was just a dyslexia
6:44Joey Noelle:the i and the r you think oh you think they switched around the r and the i did at one point
6:48Tim Gettys:for sure oh that's worse yeah i thought it was just they couldn't say the word no it was them saying karen like c-a-r-i-n that's pretty i'm pretty sure that's what it was but i agree dude i played it uh i've been i'm about two hours in maybe close to three hours i've been playing a bit on i tried playing on steam deck it doesn't run so great on steam deck and apparently what Roger was telling us as he was playing on PS5 that even on PS5, it kind of chugs and is a bit unoptimized. But I played on GeForce now and that made it a lot easier to, you know, sort of deal with, you know, no bugs and no like slowdown or whatever.
7:27Tim Gettys:And it ran great. It was awesome. Felt all the tension like this game. I was telling I think I was telling Greg about this, but in the way that people say death stranding is just a walking simulator yeah like that i think that's the easiest comparison to this to say like yeah it's like death stranding but for climbing but it's really not that it it reminds you a lot more of what baby steps was doing with how precise you have to be and how you know careful you have to be with each grab and you know make your foot be on that foothold or whatever and dude like the tension you feel oh the the your heart dropping and the adrenaline you feel when you're close to kind of cresting over that peak but you feel like your character you know the screen starts to dim a bit the controller sides are vibrate it's like oh my gosh she's she's gonna die right here yeah i was gonna die yeah it's funny playing this right
8:24Joey Noelle:after alex honnold is that his name the dude who climbed taipei 101 it's so fun playing this after that because i'm like damn that that dude was just like it was risking it all right doesn't have the the the harnesses doesn't have the gear he's just free soloing that that thing i'm like man that's crazy playing this game and kind of feeling the tension that they're they're able to kind of convey through yeah the the breathing is crazy like i don't know if this is something that we need to talk about end of the year for performance of the year because it's kind of a weird one but just the way that she's like breathing and struggling and you hear it and it's making me yeah anxious as i'm playing it so well done um i had a couple of falls just like oh my god i'm going crazy in the studio i feel awful i put i posted this on blue sky that's bstm that i went bouldering for the first time probably about three months ago i got a friend that took me bouldering and i immediately was digging it because it feels like such the combination of of course this physical thing that you're doing trying to maintain energy trying to like you know be strong as doing but then also it kind of scratches the puzzle solving itch that i have in my brain where i'm like all right if i put my left hand here i can probably get my left foot here and i'm like just trying to get to right there you know what i mean i'm just trying to
9:42Tim Gettys:get to that one top spot on this climb video gamifying and they found i i think they do such
9:48Joey Noelle:a great job of yeah gamifying that experience and making it feel accurate to what that feels like it's so good that i'm as i'm playing i'm like oh i gotta show this to my friend i'm bouldering with like they're going to fall in love with this even though they're not that into video games
9:59Tim Gettys:yeah i'm hoping that the story kind of goes in cool places and hits emotionally in some spots
10:05Joey Noelle:but i'm taking this i'm one of the reasons i'm sad i didn't play it earlier is that now i'm like having to juggle this in other games that we're playing for review and games that are coming up and karen is the kind of game that i wish i had nothing else and i could just play this and focus on this for two weeks or whatever but i digress uh let's talk about some video game news because
10:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:remember if you're watching live you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on youtube.com slash kind of funny games just like the portland kevin did who says love you both blessed and andy thank you so much love you too thank you and then heroic headgear who says birthday tax thanks for what y 'all do and for the community you have built thank you heroic headgear and then
10:43Tim Gettys:also like dante 064 he says john cena looks like a buff earnest shit fuck damn interesting that's That is one of the best. That's like saying that Troy Aikman looks like a white Jay-Z.
10:59Joey Noelle:Oh, yeah.
11:00Tim Gettys:Yeah. Man, that's a good one.
11:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Remember, we couldn't do this.
11:03Tim Gettys:Whoa, fuck, man. And really, it's the space between the nose and the upper lip. They've got a long space between the nose and the upper lip. Yeah.
11:13Joey Noelle:I didn't see it until Barrett pulled up. That's insane. I thought that was John Cena for half a second. I was like, what was John Cena in a pumpkin? That's really good, yeah.
11:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We couldn't do this without our Patreon producers. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have seven stories today.

11:38Greg Miller:A big dozen!
11:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Starting with our number one. Season three of The Last of Us could be its last HBO boss hints. This is from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. The live action The Last of Us show could conclude with its upcoming third season, HBO boss Casey Bloys has hinted. The future of The Last of Us has been unclear following mixed feedback to season two and the departure of game creator Neil Druckmann from future production. However, it was thought that the show would last at least two more seasons. The first season of the show covered the events of the first game, but The Last of Us is a substantially shorter game than The Last of Us Part II.
12:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Previously, showrunner Craig Mazin had suggested that the HBO show would last for at least four seasons, telling Collider last year that there was no way to complete this narrative in a third season. Quote, I think there's a decent chance that season three will be longer than season two, just because the manner of that narrative and the opportunities it affords us are a little different, he said. However, it appears that Mazin might not get his chance. Speaking to Deadline, HBO boss Bloys was asked if The Last of Us' next season would be its last. quote it certainly seems that way he replied but on decisions like that we will defer to the
12:53Tim Gettys:showrunners so you can ask them and quote i've never heard of a tv show that has gone there's been this much back and forth between what they're trying to decide on yeah like i initially it was three seasons three seasons and then you start hearing murmurings from mazen and the crew and maybe even druckman at some point but saying yeah it could go for you know you know this the final section could be four and then to now have this sort of come back down to three and i wonder if that's due to enthusiasm because i feel like if they felt the juice was worth the squeeze and if they felt that they could come up with a couple of new stories to fill in these gaps that they would like i i don't i don't really know of a whole lot of companies that go no we we actually prefer less you know every other studio every other company and organization out there the NFL wants more games like everything needs to be longer for more money and I wonder if this is at all if the enthusiasm of the show at all is affecting their decision making yeah I mean to your point
14:00Joey Noelle:I think of something like Shogun where Shogun was supposed to be a one and done season and Shogun has been greenlit for season two because season one was so successful like where there is money money will dictate where the art goes for corporations like this right and like you might say that's unfortunate it's whatever right that's a whole different conversation i think of last of us was the new game of thrones oh yeah we're gonna see last was they were they would get to the end of last was part two and be like all right let's figure out more content like we don't give a fuck that that a new game isn't out we don't we don't care that there's not more story here we're gonna create story to keep this thing going i think that's where the conversation would be if last of us was hitting that level of popularity and
14:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:viewership as we're talking here i was trying to find any sort of reports about the viewership uh of last of us season two specifically the only thing i can find so far is an article from the rep that says that viewership for the season two finale was down 55 from season one um i look at
15:02Joey Noelle:that i look at the conversation around season two which wasn't as favorable as season one just based off of i think multiple things but a lot of the decisions around i think writing characters and stuff like that right and yeah i think they're in such an awkward place neil druckman also left the project as well so it's like i wonder what those behind the scenes conversations were slash are especially with neil leaving does neil leaving take out some of the passion and fire that's behind it does the reaction of season two take out some passion from craig mazin even or whoever where they're like, oh, season one, we're winning awards.
15:39Joey Noelle:We're doing the thing. We got the viewership. Hell yeah, this is gonna be the next big thing. And then coming into season two, we're like, season two is a bit more controversial, you know? And even when you look at the rest of the game, it's like, it's gonna continue to be controversial. You know, I don't think you're gonna steer the ship back to where you were for season one because of what the content is. Right. So yeah, I think we're just in a weird place. Where did you net out near the end of season two? I did not like season two that much. Okay. Obviously, I don't think it was horrible or anything like that.
16:05Joey Noelle:I think the quality of the, I want to say filmmaking, but it's not a film, the quality of the television making for season two is too high as far as production and set and budget and all these things that I can't sit here and be like, oh, that was a terrible watch by any means. I think the writing and I want to put it on the performances. I think just the directing overall took a step down from season one. And part of that, in my opinion, is that Last of Us one is an easier story to tell through a non video game adaptation than season two. I think season two slash last is part two is better told as a video game.
16:46Joey Noelle:okay i think being able to control those characters and you know be in the shoes of ellie and actually like being the one to carry out all the killing and having more time for that stuff to develop works way better in game than i think a truncated season of tv did you watch season two uh no i did
17:05Tim Gettys:not i did put up a poll though on twitch asking do your non-gaming friends love the last of us on HBO?
17:10Joey Noelle:That's a good question.
17:12Tim Gettys:Because my parents still very much enjoyed season two. I didn't fully finish season two. I didn't watch all of it. A lot of that comes down to just being busy with other things. But I was somebody that felt my interest waning a bit and maybe wasn't in love with the decisions that were being made. But a lot of it is just I got shit to do and I'd rather be playing video games but i do know that it seemed like there were maybe two different schools of thought between the people who play the games and know them and love them and the people just experiencing it as an hbo show and it seemed like every sort of issue that people had with the show were from people that have played the game and were you know criticizing certain decisions that were being made in the show and i feel like i heard a lot less of that on the non-gamer side
18:05Joey Noelle:of things interesting i could see that because i the question i'll throw to you is you play last of part two yes how would you describe ellie in that game for last was two what adjectives would
18:18Tim Gettys:you use fucking pissed yeah yeah what other adjectives um uh gay you know what they capture
18:29Joey Noelle:those things yeah very well on the tv show oh okay so i murderous i think for me vengeful i think for me i look at the character of ellie as you know a bit scary a bit of a force you know a bit somebody who when they come through they're gonna fucking like almost like a one-man army type oh
18:47Tim Gettys:right yeah when you are playing as abby it is a horror movie yes when ellie is hunting you down
18:53Joey Noelle:it feels scary i don't feel that at all in the tv show for season two season two and a lot of people were mentioning they think beller mamsie was miscast and i'm i i don't know either way what i do know is that i think that character was badly written if you're going to if you're going off of who that character is in the game because there comes a point in season two where ellie feels so incompetent and um what's his name dina's um partner that she was saying jesse jesse nailed it Jesse comes in and it almost feels like, oh, thank God there's an adult in the room. Like, thank God somebody's coming in to save the day.
19:30Joey Noelle:And I should not feel that way about Ellie.
19:32Greg Miller:And to a similar degree, and this is the only like, you know, conversations I've heard from normies who don't play video games. We're interested in The Last of Us Season 1 because they've heard, you know, dorks like ourselves talk about this game and seeing it adapted. you know Pedro Pascal is barely in season two and I think for some normies out there or a lot of a good amount of normies once Pedro Pascal becomes not as a force in that season two and it's then the rest of the season has to be carried out by these other actors I think a lot of people stopped being engaged by it yeah I don't know if that's just because of the star power that Pedro Pascal has whether it is maybe the newer cast and these younger uh younger people not being as much of a force to carry people through but i that was like some of the conversations i was hearing so i stopped
20:27Tim Gettys:caring about godzilla 2014 i'll tell you what less what happened in godzilla 2014 i mean oh was that the dude was that the one with breaking bad i just love you know here i am hot off of you know several years after just being obsessed with breaking bad yeah oh my god brian cranson gonna to be in a movie fuck yeah what is it godzilla i'm godzilla is kind of whatever for me but yeah i'm gonna go watch it fucking dude dies in the first 20 minutes and i'm like well i've lost all connection to this because the best part of this movie is now gone yeah and that sucks you know so
20:54Joey Noelle:i it was fucked up yeah and i think for to barrett's point i think with season two it kind of sucks when that happens and i think bella ramesley's ellie should have been able to fill in that role of okay here's the center the character that is that this whole thing is centered around and we can not even root for this character because ellie's not necessarily not at least not meant to be the hero of last list too right but it's a character that you could at least invest yourself in and be engaged one right and here i'm like ah there's just too many things where i'm like that's
21:19Tim Gettys:dumb ellie's not dumb you know yeah i don't when i look at some of the criticism from the casting i think it's perfectly valid to think that ellie was miscast as bella ramsey because bella ramsey looks like a kid and in the same way that if i'm hiring a role for a mob boss i wouldn't get tom holland to be the you know like i i don't have that level of fear or intimidation now you could always like you know kind of do a 180 and kind of like really catch people off guard when the first time you meet gustavo fring and again going back to breaking bad yeah i'm like oh this guy just seemed like a totally chill dude and now we're kind of seeing what he's capable of i just when i look at ellie she just still looks like a kid she doesn't have like i i think too much time there was too much of a time gap and not enough aging from for sure that's why i struggle
22:18Joey Noelle:i struggle a little bit with the miscast thing only because i think she was well cast for season one yes yeah and then like once we get into season two is the problem that you're talking about and i wonder if that is like hey again we're talking about video games versus tv and so you you're able to age up a character in video games in a way that you don't you can't really do for tv unless you recast or do something like that maybe it is you needed an actress that could evolve you know what i mean like somebody who can transform from season one to season two dynamically where you're like damn all right time has passed this character is going through something this character has changed and they don't i don't think they do that enough but i blame more so the script i think if you put a different actor in there and you keep the same
22:58Tim Gettys:script it still sucks it's also hard to be on that side because you're you're trying not to align with the oh they should have cast someone hotter and it's like okay you want this 13 oh
23:07Joey Noelle:yeah there's somebody dude i would during season two i kept opening up reddit and like there are
23:13Tim Gettys:multiple last of us to do yeah there's an evil last of us to reddit and there's a regular one
23:18Joey Noelle:yeah i think but i kept getting posts from the evil one and i i didn't know until like a few weeks in to where i was like man every single thing here is negative and i look up and i'm like oh no this is the evil people this can't be the only subreddit there is i'm like does this game
23:32Tim Gettys:not have any fans reddit just really showing you where they you know where all the engagement is
23:37Joey Noelle:all the angry people yeah um but yeah i'm i'm down for them to end it with season three you know it feels right it feels right you know where season two ended in a place where it's like yeah you should be able to land this plane in season three and also you know don't stretch it out yeah let's have an ending here.
23:55Tim Gettys:Now, where are you at with the rumors and possibilities of it being a bit of a longer season?
24:01Joey Noelle:I'm down for that. I think with the amount of stuff that's left as far as content and stuff that they've set up and even the epilogue of Last of Us 2 and all that stuff, I could see you having a few extra episodes to be able to cover everything. Yeah, I don't think that's crazy at all.
24:17Tim Gettys:Do you think that there's room for the one-off episodes like the Nick Offerman episode of of season one because that's that's a really good question that's the only sort of you know uh timeline that i could see where i'd be totally okay with extending the seasons if you have gold like that and we have this banger ass episode that was not in the video game but it is centered around these two characters that were maybe briefly mentioned here and there maybe that it was a supporting actor but we're getting more in-depth background on them yeah because of because Because at that point, it's like, okay, well then go ahead and cook, Craig Mazin and crew, because you all have showed me you have the stuff for it.
24:58Joey Noelle:I could see a standalone Seraphite episode. Gotcha. Like an episode that goes deeper into, like, you know, maybe a one-off scenario to explain these people better, explain this side of, or this faction better. I could see a Jeffrey Wright standalone episode, just because, like, you have such a powerful actor here. Jeffrey Wright is amazing. and of course he's reprising Isaac and we've seen him already in season two. I could see that. I don't know what it would be but I think it would be fun to ride around. So yeah, I'd be down for that for sure. We have more on the last part too
25:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and this is very sad news actually. This is more about Catherine O 'Hara because story number two, Catherine O 'Hara who you might know from Home Alone and Schitt's Creek has died at age 71. I'm reading from Alex Williams and Riley Kirk at the New York Times. Catherine O 'Hara, the Emmy award-winning comic actress who endeared herself to audiences, blending a maternal every woman quality with a sly touch of the surreal as showcased in blockbusters like the home alone films, as well as offbeat fare, like the hit TV series Schitt's Creek died on Friday at her home in Los Angeles. She was 71 creative artists agency, which represented her confirmed her death in a statement, which did not cite a cause saying only that she had been briefly ill.
26:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Despite her knack for the quirky, Miss O 'Hara's biggest screen achievement came with the 1990 Christmas film Home Alone, directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. Catherine O 'Hara was born in Toronto on March 4th, 1954. She had the good fortune, she often said, to be born into a family in which humor was at a premium. Quote, there's no better survival instinct, she told Parade. Quote, you're so lucky if you're raised with it. It's one of God's greatest gifts because life is full of dark and the light you got to look for the light my parents were both really funny and a sense and a sense of humor was always appreciated laughing and being funny was highly
26:53Joey Noelle:encouraged at our table and quote and yeah the reason i put this after the last was stories that she played a character in last was season two the therapist character which was um which
27:02Tim Gettys:had some really good moments it was awesome season two yeah that that's i think right after those episodes is where i may have fallen off but yeah those performance seeing her opposite of uh of Pedro Pascal was really magical stuff. Yeah. Very, very sad loss in the acting world, but also just, you know, a bunch of clips that I'd seen surface after the death just made me especially sad. Just seeing like, man, what a solid human, you know?
27:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:100%. Hopping into Super Chats, talking more about last was season two, because a lot of people have things to say. I want to bring in one from the Portland Kevin 597, who says long before season one aired, I thought Caitlin Dever would have made a better Ellie than Bella Ramsey. I think that casting hurt the show in season two.
27:47Joey Noelle:I don't disagree. Caitlin Dever, I think, is playing a great Abby so far. I would have liked to see what that Tom I would have looked like if she played season two Ellie. But again, it's a tough thing because I'm like, I wouldn't want to take away Bella Ramsey season one Ellie. I think she's so good in season one. I do not disagree there.
28:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:uh super oh my glob 89 uh writes in and says the first few episodes of last of us was okay the second season was badly spoiled uh that i never went back damn internet i mean if you
28:20Tim Gettys:played the game you had the exact same experience maybe they yeah maybe they came from a standpoint
28:25Joey Noelle:where it wasn't spoiled or where they didn't know the game oh yeah you know interesting i mean if If you were watching and listening to this show, like Kind of Funny Games Daily, I'd be surprised if you didn't know the story to Last West 2.
28:39Tim Gettys:Yeah, possibly. But sometimes you have a brain like me where, you know, facts just can kind of go in your brain and out. You know, you don't absorb everything.
28:46Joey Noelle:I forget what happens at the beginning of this game. You're watching, you're like, fuck, dude. That's crazy. With a golf club? Damn.
28:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's nuts. Matt Caledona writes in and says, birthday tax, KF rocks, ice stinks. Thank you so much, Matt, for that. Thank you, Matt.
29:00Tim Gettys:Happy birthday.
29:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:kobe aren't writes in and says i also feel the way they wrote dina in in the season matched the cadence of ellie from the game rather than ellie herself interesting i might disagree a little bit
29:12Joey Noelle:i love dina in season two though dina might have been mvp character of season two for me
29:17Tim Gettys:great performance it felt like they favored her more as a character in season two kind of the parts that i watched giving her a bit more involved in a role kind of splitting things up in a way that yeah you know yeah i did feel like okay they're gonna give her a lot of love she's gonna get her own big standalone episode you know again for a season that you know we're losing pedro
29:39Joey Noelle:pascal's character at least his presence um i think filling in that gap with uh dina and the actress that played dina i think the writing and her performance right i think lived up um yeah i want to bring in another one actually this is i'm gonna keep with the last plus i'm gonna come
29:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:back around to this one about marathon uh jumping over to nicola no nick nick olai at night nicolai at night there we go uh do you think getting space away from last was hbo show would be a net positive for the franchise if they were ever to if they were ever able to develop a part three oh that's a tough one um i i don't know if it's a well it depends on what standpoint you're looking at it from like whether whether you're the gamer who cares more about the game universe
30:34Tim Gettys:or whether you are a casual person who couldn't really care less about what happens in the game um i i don't know if like i think that it will always be a net positive that the show exists and i don't think creating more space in between the two things really matters a whole lot like i i think that the game will always benefit from the tv show universe yeah i mean i agree with that
31:00Joey Noelle:i mean yeah i i think the popularity of the last of us tv show is only good for the game my last is part three is going to sell more with this tv show being out um yeah then it would have otherwise if there was never a last was a video show like the last was still going to sell because it's last was yeah but i think the tv show only adds to that so no i don't think it matters whether or not they're separating themselves from it having more time since the tv show or not and
31:24Tim Gettys:it all depends on whether you're making quality products anyway when you talk about something as loved as those first several seasons of game of thrones and the first several books the game game of thrones at the time it was yes there's a lot of differences between the two but they're both good so who gives a shit right we're gonna move on to story number three but before we do

35:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we're back. With story number three, Steam MMO that raised$3.2 million on Kickstarter implodes just two months after launch. This is from Ethan Gotch at Kotaku. Ashes of Creation is living up to its name. The fantasy MMORPG came to Steam in early access on December 11th. Less than eight weeks later, its future is in complete limbo amidst staff resignations and reported layoffs. The Entrepit Studios' made open-world game raised over$3.2 million on Kickstarter back in 2017. Now its director claims that board control of the company has been stolen away from him and that those who seized it are trying to do unethical things.
36:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Quote, I can make a limited statement in my personal capacity and not on behalf of the company regarding the situation. Director Stephen Sheriff wrote on Discord on January 31st via PC Games N. Quote,
36:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Sheriff does not get into what specific things the board was trying to do, but said other senior staff resigned along with him and that the company is currently moving forward with mass layoffs. Intrepid is based in San Diego, California, where companies must give notice before laying employees off. But the state's database doesn't yet show any updates for the studio. Still, the reports of sudden chaos were backed up by another former employee. Studio communications director Margaret Cron recently posted on LinkedIn that they've left the company as well. Quote, I gave everything I had and did my very best with what was within my power.
37:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They wrote, quote, And I ask one last favor of you. Please be kind to the developers. We are people who have families who have just lost our jobs after pouring our hearts and souls into ashes of creation. The message continued, quote, As for how this all ended, I don't really have the words. It wasn't what I expected, but I'm holding on to the good because there was so much of it, end quote. quote ashes of creation was pitched back in 2017 as a factions based mmo that would askew pay-to-win macro transactions backers who collectively contributed millions have now been waiting nearly a decade for launch while it finally came to steam early access in december some backers are claiming that doesn't count as a full 1.0 release and are demanding refunds instead early bird backer wrote uh one of them uh quote extremely disappointed with the behavior of this company and yes i will be pursuing a refund another wrote quote refund my 500 please end quote crazy are you familiar i wasn't familiar with this game ashes of creation it was only something i was
38:14Tim Gettys:tangentially aware of because of people like uh co carnage and a lot of other content creators that are big into fantasy mmos and fantasy rpgs and things like that so i was never fully i'd never opened up the steam page or anything like that but i did know oh a big mmo like is finally coming out a lot of people are looking forward to it now right now it would be pure speculation to just wonder what are these unethical things that are you know trying to be put into place and you got to assume it may have to do with microtransactions or things of that nature my mind went to ai because everybody is doing that but yeah possibly but i don't know it just feels like okay well this game coming to steam and finally being available for a lot of the backers i just assumed it'd be okay how are we hey we've had a lot of time into this our money is down how do we get that money back up quickly or yeah you're not wrong maybe it does have to do with some sort of ai thing and maybe we could lay people off and you know replace uh the workforce with something that ai could possibly do but man i don't know this all just this all just sort of stinks and i i kind of want to just wait to see exactly what will come out from all of this
39:28Joey Noelle:yeah i this is one where i feel for obviously i fear for i feel for the developers i also feel for the people who backed the game on kickstarter of course that's the risk when it comes to supporting something on kickstarter but to for the person who was like yeah i backed with 500 for whatever perks they probably were getting with that and because they probably saw potential in the game to then get to a place where early access is out and not even the 1.0 right we're just at early access and it seems like shit's going downhill i feel for the people that are in that position um it's tough because you don't really have a whole lot of games that could fill this
40:05Tim Gettys:void i mean mmos have been so hard to develop in the last decade plus because people have their games and it's only gotten more difficult because of how splintered fan bases are especially a game that needs to continually run and needs a player base and things of that nature, and how do you monetize something that needs to kind of continually run. And so when this game first sort of comes out, I go, oh, finally a dub for the MMO community. They haven't had one of these in a while if you're not already a World of Warcraft fan or Guild Wars or something like that. And yeah, to see this news was quite a bummer because you feel for not only just the fan base of people who have been looking forward to finally having a game like this in a long time but yeah this i mean hearing those words from the team just going yeah all that work gone crazy upsetting store number four just four days after launch high
41:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:guard gets a 5v5 limited time game mode to counter those 3v3 complaints this is wesley and pool at ign high guard developer wildlight has announced a 5v5 limited time game mode available to all players starting today of course i'm pulling this from friday it will run through the weekend. The free-to-play PvP raid shooter launched this week and immediately met with a mostly negative user review rating on Steam, although that has improved in recent days to Mixed. Meanwhile, Steam concurrence has fallen after a peak of nearly 100 ,000, sparking questions about High Guard's future. Chief among the criticisms from players is that the size of the map feels too big and empty for a 3v3 competitive shooter.
41:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You're able to summon a mount to get about faster. The mounts are one aspect of High Guard that players seem to universally like, but some thought a 4v4, 5v5, or even 3v3v3 mode would have been a better fit. Now, just four days after launch, High Guard has a 5v5 mode, albeit for just a few days. Today's update also introduces a brand new base called Solwell. Quote, we heard your feedback. For the weekend, we're experimenting with a 5v5 raid mode. This is a separate playlist not meant to replace 3s. 3v3 raids are still there for people who enjoy it. The lobby has been updated to allow for parties of five while the mode is live, grab four friends, and jump into some hectic raids.
42:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They also add some dev notes here. Dev note one, as most of you know, we're working on optimizations across the game. Many are in this patch, and 3v3 should be good improvements, but adding four more players to the game is not going to improve performance, right? Please keep that in mind as you try 5v5, and then they add one more dev note saying that the firing range doesn't support 5v5 at this time.
42:39Joey Noelle:of course by the time people are hearing or watching this this is all probably over but wanted to include this just for a conversation of high guard one week later right the game has been out we've seen people jump in i've been very fascinated with how the internet's reacted to it because i feel like i've seen an ebb and flow a little bit mostly negative but i feel like 5v5
43:00Tim Gettys:brought people back a bit yeah i think you know it kind of solidifies something that we asked them during that little event that we went to, the press event, where we asked them, does being independent really help with, does it actually help with being a mobile team, a team that could kind of, you know, get together and go, hey, we should fix this immediately and not have to worry about a lot of oversight and a lot of, you know, worry about the red tape from up on high. And yeah, it's clear that when you are your own independent team, you could say, yeah, let's put out this new mode now you know was this mode already something that was kind of in the waitings who knows right but the fact that they were that quick to get to it and not only address concerns but say hey would this be more feasible is this something that's more attractive to you all as the player base i think it's awesome i think it's great that you know this team can be that uh mobile and get on it already and say yeah let's maybe try to fix what some people are talking about while addressing other concerns about the game will that help the long-term player base i mean i think it's a yes and no thing i think that i think that people who are into it are more likely to stick in that world if they see wow the devs are listening and they're kind of acting on things already which is awesome
44:20Joey Noelle:for the player base i want to see them pull this off just in the sense of i want to see more independently owned studios come through be able to launch a multiplayer thing and also be able to do what you're talking about hey yeah we got an update here we've heard you guys talk about wanting a higher player count boom 5v5 in less than a week i think that's an amazing response time to seeing what people are asking for and want then talking about the optimizations like i came out of that preview event we went to being very impressed with how much they had prepared like it feels like you know when we talk about batman with prep time type shit right where it's like all right i got a contingency plan for all these things you know we asked them about um roadmap they had an answer they had to break down they had to slide being like yo yeah we're doing this this this and this because we learned from apex um there's kind of there's a passion behind this game from the team that i want to see them be able to pull it off i worry that they're not going to i i wouldn't be surprised if a month from now we're talking about all right high guard's gone like it's offline because it couldn't maintain a player base or whatever i open up the steam db right now we're talking about 5 639 people in the game on steam specifically of course cross-platform all that stuff but play yeah i worry a lot about this one you know like i the weekend seemed good with the 5v5 stuff but yeah like it seems like people did not react favorably
45:44Tim Gettys:to this one yeah i think a lot of it just stems from people wanting to hate on something and wanting wanting to be right in them calling the shot that something would fail yeah i think a lot of that just comes down to you know can i dunk on this thing and can i get you know internet likes for it or whatever very bizarre with how hated this game uh was and has been treated and it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense because this you know this it'd be one thing if the devs were like you know the most outspoken we we feel this way politically or whatever and then you see either side go well fuck that game i'm bored it was just like a game that you know showed off a trailer and maybe a lot of that hate stems from jeff keely spoke too favorably about this for too long and i don't like jeff keely therefore i needed to fail in order to have this personal win for myself or whatever very odd the way people are are acting nowadays but i i feel like it could still do well in the survivability aspect when we talk about what the content roadmap looks like in addition to them being quick on their feet with releasing more fixes and and adding things so they have their content roadmap which is you know every month or so new character new map new base or whatever um i don't know exactly how that content looks like but it's they're consistently doing stuff for the rest of the year if they could stick to that schedule while also going hey 404 is now a mode this is a new map that's smaller there's more crystals to mine or we added little fucking minions to shoot at to get you more of the vesper which is the the end game sort of currency if they could be mobile in that aspect as well i think could prove really massive for the people that say here's my complaint oh my complaint's been addressed in the you know in the last three days shit i want to go play that now yeah you know and i think it also helps that a lot of the other big multiplayer games aren't in the most favorable spot because of just you know people being mad about whatever they need to be mad about like there isn't the big multiplayer game except for i'd say arc raiders that's kind of dominating where people go oh that's all i want to play right now i don't feel like there is a multiplayer game that's pulling people in that way yeah uh i saw
48:10Joey Noelle:somebody in chat was wondering if we've gone back to high guard i wish i was i wish i could have more time to play high guard yeah that's one that i played the i played one 5v5 match on friday and i was like okay i'm gonna go home probably play some more 5v5 high guard and pick it up care and i was like shit all right and then i just ran out of time and like i for me it's like the nature of our jobs where i have i'm streaming final fantasy 10 which i guess isn't for this job but that does take up time i'm reviewing a different game and then between that i'm like man if i could choose two games to play if i could clear everything out it'd be karen high guard but yeah no i know i've not been able to get back to it yeah it all comes down to
48:50Tim Gettys:just it all comes down to time and how that's like the high the the most valuable commodity and i am many many an hour into neo 3 reviewing that i started the witcher over the weekend which certainly didn't help high guard's chances and about once every two years i get really really deep into overwatch and it's just so unfortunate for high guard that i am so into overwatch right now to the point where you know i played off stream last night for several hours after my 10 hour witcher 3 stream played more overwatch like as soon as the stream ended it's like let's play some overwatch right now i'm just really really back into uh into playing it so yeah that does kind of suck because in any other at any other time if this game would release i am not even thinking about overwatch and i am playing high guard because of how much i actually enjoyed
49:45Joey Noelle:it somebody in chat also said stop the cat bless and here's my thing right and somebody else was like you know you want this game to be successful but you don't want to take 30 minutes out of your day i was too busy going outside you know what i mean i was too busy going out friday night hanging out with barrett celebrating his birthday grabbing drinks i'll see busy on saturday going over to oakland because i'm always in oakland yeah i mean playing magic always going to always going to oakland hanging out with friends so yes like to andy's point it is a time thing and yeah i'm sorry
50:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i can't spend hours every day playing every video game that exists even the video games that i would like to play not having the time for it i think then you're not allowed to say you want games to
50:19Greg Miller:succeed then yeah i'm not allowed to be like man i hope this developer pulls something off that
50:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:they're very passionate about and also mainly for the reason why that i want the developers that are
50:30Joey Noelle:doing things right to be rewarded for it not saying that high guard is the greatest multiplayer game ever it's not right not saying that high guard couldn't use some improvements it probably could more so that i was just very impressed overall with the packaging of high guard and how they presented it and of course marketing and game of the game awards reveal aside just for the
50:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:fact that they're being this responsive the fact that they turn around they're like five you five boom here you go hey season one or whatever with a new new hero is going to come out two weeks after
50:59Joey Noelle:hey it's launching with cross play right hey you don't have to buy new heroes everything gameplay wise is free we're only selling cosmetics even that feels like such a step beyond what you get from any other apex didn't do that right rainbow six siege doesn't do that the biggest multiplayer games in the space don't give out free heroes except it is overwatch about free heroes i think they do i think now they do yeah yeah i think that right there is very consumer friendly i want the consumer friendly games be successful that way we can save money yeah you know that way we can get better experiences and we can have that competition i'm not going to sit here and ask for the death of a game just because what i don't like multiplayer no i'm not going to play multiplayer games if that's the case right yeah but a lot of people don't think like that you got to not look
51:42Tim Gettys:at it chat that's why that's why i'm sitting here tilted me that's why i love tilted me that's why I love sitting here. I let them do it to me.
51:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Story number five. Jeffrey Epstein was permanently banned from Xbox Live. This is from Sean Hollister at The Verge. Would it surprise you to learn Microsoft booted Jeffrey Epstein from its online gaming platform? I'm going to pause there and say no. It wouldn't surprise me.
52:05Tim Gettys:The article continues. I will say my favorite takes over the weekend were, man, you had to have really said some shit to get banned back then. You know what? That's actually fair.
52:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, actually, they explain it here. As spotted by Xbox Air, the latest batch of Epstein's emails show that in December 2013, he was permanently suspended due to harassment, threats and or abuse of other players. But it appears the real reason may be simpler. A second email from Microsoft to Epstein the very same day shows he was banned because he was a registered sex offender and because Microsoft was among the companies that agreed to purge registered sex offenders from their systems.
52:41Tim Gettys:Oh, good for them.
52:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:While Epstein became a registered sex offender years earlier, another email shows he may not have joined Xbox Live until October 2012. Microsoft joined New York State's initiative to purge sex offenders from online platforms where they might bump into children back in April 2012, so it seemed it didn't ban his account for over a year. It's not clear if Epstein played Xbox himself, though. In July 2014, he asked his executive assistant, quote, do we have an xbox 360 connect and in a 2016 email there appears to be a discussion of buying an xbox as a surprise as a surprise birthday gift for a boy in 2019 a message reads why is there a 25.24 charge on my xbox end quote it sucks that like for how funny some parts of this are you
53:31Joey Noelle:then get to that really dark part of oh yeah he wanted to buy it as a gift for a kid it's like
53:36Tim Gettys:damn fucked up shit yeah super fucked up shit yeah this whole weekend was a a whirlwind it was
53:45Greg Miller:not even the like some of the crazy stuff to come out about the industry with the emcee files as well regarding bobby kodak and well leslie bensies oh yeah the rockstar dudes yeah this is one that
53:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i was gonna put in the show i'm waiting on more reports to come out of it just because no one's
54:03Greg Miller:no one's commented on it past the uh initial document yeah obviously like there's millions
54:08Joey Noelle:there's so much to dig into there and so i'm waiting for like all this shit to come out so we can get um all the information at once but yeah it's been a it's been a weird dark weekend yeah uh for this shit so we voted for this we wanted this yeah we want the guy defending all these people some good news though with story number six the super mario medley just won a
54:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:grammy award this is from andy robinson at video games chronicle an instrumental medley of super mario music was among the grammy award winners on sunday alongside the prolific game composer austin winery eight bit big band a 30 plus member jazz orchestra based mostly in new york city won the grammy award for best arrangement instrumental or acapella for super mario praise break the arrangement features instrumental covers of the super mario brothers theme bob on battlefield from Super Mario 64, Gusty Garden Galaxy from Mario Galaxy, and Athletic Theme from Super Mario World. It's the second time 8-Bit Big Band has won a Grammy for their video game covers after their version of Meta Knight's Revenge from the 1996 SNES title.
55:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kirby Superstar won the same award in 2022.
55:15Tim Gettys:Ben Miller was popping off of that one. Oh, yeah.
55:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Big Meta Knight fan. Last year, the group was nominated in the best... I don't think it was a live... He's thinking about it. Lastly, the group was nominated in the Best Instruments and Vocals category for its cover of Persona 5 track Last Surprise but failed to win the award. 8-Bit Big Band wrote on social media, quote, We just won our second Grammy. Thank you to everyone who listened and supported all of our new releases. And huge congrats to my co-arrangers on the now Grammy-winning Super Mario Praise Break, the incredible friends and musicians Brian Carter and Matthew Whitaker, end quote. the winner for best game soundtrack at this year's grammys was sword of the sea composed by austin winery winery was previously nominated for stray gods and aliens fireteam elite nice that's a crazy
56:06Tim Gettys:range right there yeah that's a crazy range i i do want i i do wish i could find out exactly how these soundtracks get recommended or how they're seen i think awesome submit them right i think i think austin wintry already being one of these legendary composers is already in people's minds of the voting panel of like okay well what did he do this year because obviously he's been nominated several years in the past because mainly because i look at aliens fire team elite is like huh that's an interesting choice and i wonder what other games came out that year that you're like why not any of these awesome soundtracks i had to guess i think he's just
56:45Joey Noelle:taking the initiative and possibly in submitting his stuff yeah very possible so i was interested
56:49Greg Miller:to see what were the other nominees this year right uh you had hell divers 2 which is weird that came out indiana jones in the great circle that being the end of last year i get whatever hit the cut off yeah star wars outlaws wild card and whatever like dlc for star wars uh the star wars game and then dlc for the avatar game that's the other thing is that whenever we've done this
57:12Joey Noelle:year after year of looking at the grammy nominees for video game stuff and it's always video games that are adaptations of cinematic works.
57:19Tim Gettys:Yeah, and that's why I want to know exactly what the practice is because I think that the people may be voting or nominating, and you mentioned a great point that maybe Austin Winner is taking initiative to kind of submit stuff, but I think that they just kind of look at, well, what's at the very, very top? What are the names that we're familiar with? What's an IP I recognize? Yeah.
57:43Greg Miller:A funny one, though, for 2022, too the winner was the dlc for whatever dlc came out for assassin's creed valhalla yeah again really
57:51Joey Noelle:weird bizarre bizarre list and yeah i think a lot of them are also just cinematic sounding soundtracks like big orchestral stuff but then to that point it's like well where is clear obscure yeah like why wasn't that either submitted or nominated if it was submitted right why wouldn't they submit it i got a lot of questions if you work on clear obscure did you submit to the to
58:10Tim Gettys:the grammys and it could be that just since we're this early into the process of it people are you you know, maybe they got to work it into their marketing, you know, maybe they got to work it into their actual, like, what's my, what's my job comprised of, you know, for working PR or whatever. And maybe this is something that I could think about when, when we sell out the emails that are like, you know, for your consideration for game awards or whatever, or for your consideration for holiday shopping list, maybe it also becomes, Hey, Grammy people. Yeah. This is what we're doing.
58:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, somebody in the chat says, Sandfall, Metal Fellow in the chat says,
58:46Joey Noelle:Sandfall did submit. Somebody says also, I remember a Twitter post submitting it. I also think that, to your point, Andy, there's an element of lobbying to the Grammys. I guess the, yeah, to your, you know, please consider XYZ thing. But beyond that, I think, I remember listening to a music podcast where they talked about how people, artists will hire people specifically to lobby for them, for the Grammys. You know, to like build that, recognition build the thing like let people know hey this is for real something that you should consider and so maybe to your point yeah there should be more of that for video games but also i kind of hate that i kind of hate that that's a thing yeah i mean that's that's the game though
59:28Tim Gettys:i mean that's whenever you hear about for your considerations the it was always uh it's always a joke where in i forget what seasons and this is like such a dumb reference but whenever i'd be watching episodes of family guy or there's always an episode where they're like is this not enough golden globes or or and he's like look at this joke is this you know are you not happy with this humor or whatever um looking at the other nominations seeing stuff like more popular things like uh god of war ragnarok model uh call of duty modern warfare 2 in 2024 or hogwarts legacy which is you know i don't really hear anybody talking about the music in that game but it's a name it's harry potter it's something people write i mean it's an ip that people know marvel's
1:00:13Greg Miller:guardian the galaxy in 2023 i do love that uh the remake of wizardry proving grounds of the mad
1:00:19Joey Noelle:overlord won last year over a bunch of like other people that know people yeah like there's somebody that has a homie that's like hey i do gravy shit it's a remake from a game like 50 years ago or yeah it's a dos game it looks like yeah ibm peace whoa weird okay wild but hey video games are present at the grammy and also uh eight bit big band who did this mario thing first of all i listened to a lot of that um like i forget when they released it but when they first released it i remember jamming out to it because like you don't talk about gospel enough well a lot of people do but you know at this office when we're talking about gospel enough gospel music great you know i mean like even i stopped going to church and i still listen to gospel music like That's how much that stuff resonates with my soul.
1:01:03Joey Noelle:You ever listen to Kirk Franklin? No. Oh, man. Let me tell you about... Tell me all about it. Revolution. He has a song called Revolution. After this episode, I want you to go to your desk. Just sit in the car. Sit in the car and blast to the max volume or stomp. Son of my eyes. Or he has a song called Smile that'll legitimately make you smile. It just fills your heart with joy. You might not believe in Jesus, but you'll feel the presence. But you will for that. You will for that. Oh, Kirk, man. Kirk. Okay. Kirk Franklin. Kirk. Kirk. Yes. Kirk Franklin. Some really good gospel. Also, I can't remember his name.
1:01:34Joey Noelle:I'll send you a list of gospel artists. Please do. Come on. Make a little playlist for me. I'm going to make you a little gospel playlist. I got you. Of course, that playlist is going to be big because there's going to be a lot of songs on it. Prolicious. Does y 'all mind if I praise God? Y 'all mind if I praise God real quick?
1:01:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:If I went to something smaller, say the tiniest news I needed to know about, where would I go?
1:01:54Tim Gettys:You would go to our last story, the We News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. Out.
1:02:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Story number seven is Wii News. Starting from The Verge, Absolute's new Switch 2 controller is for all the diehard GameCube fans. Absolute, the company behind the M4 Magnetic Mobile GamePad, has announced a new pair of controllers for the Nintendo Switch 2 designed to replace the stock Joy-Cons while playing in handheld mode. both are launching soon on kickstarter and a feature and feature design where the switch to docks to the controllers so they can connect to and draw power from the console's bottom usb port
1:02:30Joey Noelle:this is what we envisioned when they first showed off the switch in 2017 yeah you know even in 2016 i think when we got that first trailer it's like oh yeah well we will we'll produce gamecube controllers and you just slide it to the side of them and that never happened yeah they also just
1:02:47Greg Miller:look like uh you know the mock-ups of like early versions of like when we're talking about the nx
1:02:52Joey Noelle:you're like oh man that's what it's gonna look like yeah yeah this is the fucked up thing that
1:02:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i want i want that from vgc sony has obtained a u.s patent for a special controller with a touchscreen that lets players choose where the buttons should go the patent was filed back in february 2023 bose issued last week and is described as designs and methods for a game
1:03:13Tim Gettys:controller it sounds like maybe an accessibility type thing maybe they finally like downloaded emulators and were like oh wow buttons on the screen yeah this is neat people have been doing
1:03:26Joey Noelle:this i uh i did the thing where when i was playing liza p late last year i started experiencing controller drift okay and became a big problem and i was like man i gotta fix this it was for my dual sense edge and so yeah but i learned they make it really easy on the playstation website they sell just the stick module oh and it's really easy to like pop out and replace and so i did that it was extremely easy i didn't it's not like i screwed anything off or anything like that but still i felt like i did something nice way to go i fixed my dual sense edge it was great
1:03:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:from ign neo 3 is slated to release on friday february 6 on pc via steam and ps5 but the game's latest trailer has revealed that xbox and maybe even switch 2 owners may not have to wait too long for a version of their own. According to the small print in the trailer, the PS5's console exclusivity period looks set to run for just six months.
1:04:16Joey Noelle:You think you could change a tire right now if you needed to? No. Really? Sadly, I mean, if you gave me the tools, I would probably figure it out. If you gave me the tools in a YouTube video, and if it wasn't too cold that day, if the temperature is below, like, 45 degrees, I'm calling somebody up to do that. Is there a puddle near my car? Yeah.
1:04:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:If it gets too uncomfortable, I'm calling up AAA
1:04:38Greg Miller:no YouTube video but you have self-service just strong enough to call a close friend to walk you through a tire
1:04:49Joey Noelle:ask me if my car has a spare tire available right now there's like a 50 % chance
1:04:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that it doesn't I just ride close to the edge from VGC the first three games the Alone in the Dark series are currently free to claim and keep on GOG. Tekken 8 season 3 has been revealed. In late spring you're going to get Kunimitsu. In summer you're getting Bob. Shout out Bob. That's my guy.
1:05:12Joey Noelle:And then in autumn you're getting Roger Jr. A lot more autumn's being used. What's happening here? I feel like it's a more worldwide term. Right? Like what do you think they say in South Africa? I feel like they say autumn over there.
1:05:23Tim Gettys:I mean I would be all for it. Don't get me wrong. I love the word autumn. It's way cooler than fall. But I just I was just so shocked that you know what what game reveal was it that we saw the game was coming out in autumn was it uh mike was like oh yeah autumn it was fable was it fable okay we saw autumn very british game yeah and then some people i saw some people confusing that right but like our fall runs from this to this and their autumn runs from i was like no no shut up it's just a
1:05:54Greg Miller:word replacement okay just because you know hold on hold on chad says plus does not know how to

1:06:16Tim Gettys:can you take a guess of what roger jr looks like you know roger jr in tekken uh no i don't i have no idea. Oh. And I... Oh! Nothing could have prepared me for this. He's a kangaroo with boxing gloves. Okay, and so the little guy in the Joey also punches?
1:06:36Joey Noelle:Is that what they call that? Baby kangaroo is a Joey? Baby kangaroo is a Joey. Wow. So, why is he named Joey?
1:06:45Tim Gettys:Yeah, Roger Jr. should be named Joey, right? Who's the junior?
1:06:52Joey Noelle:I think the junior is the kid So he's Roger the third No I think the kid is Roger Jr I think the grown up is Roger
1:07:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Wait can you just look up Roger Tekken Because I never thought about this but Yeah Oh shit okay so Roger is a character

1:07:59Tim Gettys:You just immediately made me think that it was August something. Like, I just thought like, oh, damn, that's in a couple of months. Oh, no. Yeah, August was. I thought we were in autumn.
1:08:09Joey Noelle:I just like I thought we were in autumn. I thought we were in autumn. Yeah. Why does the spring have a fancy term to it? Or does it? It's the only one that. No, autumn's the only one that has a fancy term. Because, like, summer and winter, you know, are just summer and winter. But I feel like those are already kind of fancy. I feel like spring and fall. Dog, what? What are you talking about? No, because spring and fall. It's called spring and fall because, like, you're springing up in temperature and you're falling down in temperature, right? Did I make that up? I feel like the leaves fall. I don't know.
1:08:36Greg Miller:Yeah. I don't know. Maybe I made spring because spring represents, like, the movement of life. Trees coming back to life. I see what you're saying, though. This is my headcanon.
1:08:45Tim Gettys:I see what you're saying, though. two words are just basic ass like basic ass like yeah i'm not gonna let you get away from summer
1:08:52Greg Miller:and winter are fancy words though like what are we talking about here dude no because like if we
1:08:57Joey Noelle:were if we didn't call winter winter say we called winter cold freeze time freeze time right and then like in in europe they called it winter we'd be like oh that's some fancy shit yeah yeah if we
1:09:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:called summer like hotness or something like that right and in the year and in europe in south africa
1:09:12Joey Noelle:They say, I don't know why I'm including them. They say summer. We'd be like, damn, summer's kind of, I'd name my child summer. Like, here's the thing. We would name our child summer. We would name our child autumn. Uh-huh. You know what I mean? I know people named winter. I don't know anybody named spring or fall. Because they're just verbs, yeah. That's what I'm saying. Jump. That's what I'm saying. Uh-huh. Rise. Rise.
1:09:35Tim Gettys:Yeah. They're just words. You're right. You're right.
1:09:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Winter and summer are fancy words. We're just used to them. Mm-hmm. um somebody in chat or sorry super chats we're in there now uh zeke speak writes in and says

1:11:12Tim Gettys:i've been so happy for somebody to have a headache yeah that's that's one of my favorite um larry david quotes of like i'm never happier than when someone cancels plans on oh dude it was the best
1:11:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:feeling i was like i do not want to watch this movie even though people it sounds like it's

1:12:10Joey Noelle:Oh man, you're missing out. I love a Bratwurst. If I was a Brat, I would eat myself, yeah. That might be the Midwest in me.
1:12:17Tim Gettys:Super chat to their channel. That is the Midwest in you, bless.
1:12:20Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Dude, I love a Bratwurst. Nightwar19 says, are RE2 slash 3 slash village worth it if I've never played before? Yes. In fact, play in that order. actually no add RE4 in there I would say start with RE2 and then play RE4 and then 3 and then Village
1:12:42Tim Gettys:RE7 no you should play 3 after 2 because 3 is happening at the same time
1:12:46Joey Noelle:you're right 3 is more pro and you can beat 3 in one sitting
1:12:49Tim Gettys:yeah it's like 4 hours something like that
1:12:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Samson XP says will Andy react to Overwatch announcements on February 4th 10am
1:12:57Tim Gettys:probably not no we have we have games daily yeah we might talk about it oh it's at 10 a.m we'll talk about it on some games daily yeah i don't
1:13:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:know about that one but we'll talk about it thwarted junk 96 55 says in game ellie seemed cold-blooded in the show i just remember bella saying i'm gonna be a dad also i haven't seen anyone mention katherine o 'hara being in nightmare before christmas which is crazy here's the thing that i'll say to the i'm gonna be a dad thing i have some whimsy i hate the hate
1:13:25Tim Gettys:of that like yeah it's just a goofy fucking line you can say goofy lines in fiction can we not say
1:13:30Joey Noelle:a goofy line yeah her character in the whole first season is reading from joke books like yes she's gonna make jokes yeah it's her thing yeah uh professor cat 99 says uh just as a reminder that it is okay to start an affair with an ice agent's wife oh all right i don't know if i want to do that though because she's probably not great either she's married to an ice agent yeah
1:13:54Tim Gettys:Yeah. Yeah. And they're not the most, you know, they're not the most mentally stable people. Wait, wait, wait.
1:14:01Greg Miller:What are you about to say? Well, it's because I'm just thinking about the amount of, you know, probably like secretly or maybe not so secretly, but secretly to the husband, unhappy, unhappily married wives in like the middle of America who have a lot of opinions on their like husband's opinions of like what's going on. And it doesn't always align. So I'm just I'm just thinking more from that perspective. You made your bed.
1:14:24Tim Gettys:yeah yeah no i made your bed and i'm sleeping in it obviously people change over time wait what did you say i missed the joke you made that bed and i'm sleeping that's good
1:14:35Joey Noelle:i like that i was gonna say people change over time and shit like that and so like i kind of get on one hand but on the other hand like man you married somebody that ended up being an ice agent i feel like there's some seed in there some way that when you first started seeing them maybe you could have seen that's an immediate red flag i feel like that'd be right like what what did you miss in the first 10 dates yeah where you missed that coming up i have nothing
1:14:59Greg Miller:nice to say so i'm not gonna also chris off in the chat says who's married to an ice agent great point that's true yeah um i think that's it for oh we have one more from super oh my glob 89 it says actually no we already read this one we have one more from jeff bull jr says alien blast yes

1:15:25Tim Gettys:it has never been a better time to get into Warframe and this is our year and then also we need to check out how Soulframe starts developing through the rest of the year because I feel like at the end of this year we may get a big Soulframe like hey guys big official type shit not just download our weird little launcher on our website that, you know, isn't unofficial. I feel like maybe at the end of the year, we'll get a kind of like a Steam demo, Steam official. We're announcing ourselves. Here's our beta. Yeah.
1:16:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. I hope so. Let's hop into kindoffighter.com slash you're wrong, where you write in and let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong, so we can correct it for those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. The friendly cellmate says, you said Toronto wrong. The second T is silent. just saying from a Torontoian. Come on.
1:16:19Tim Gettys:And the first T is kind of like a CH. Toronto. Toronto. Toronto. Toronto. Yeah. There's no way they say that. Toronto? That's how they talk over there? My ex-girlfriend lived there and would always say Toronto. Toronto. It's not like a Toronto. It's not like a Toronto. It's a Toronto.
1:16:40Joey Noelle:Toronto.
1:16:41Tim Gettys:Mm-hmm. Wow. It's like Louisville. Toronto. Louisville. it's like edinburgh edinburgh edinburgh it's spelt burglow yeah it's b-u-r-g yeah i mean don't get me started on fucking boston you know the amount of times people be like no that's not that's not worcester that's worcester i'm like well then that's not it i'm yeah i'm like sorry
1:17:02Joey Noelle:i read the thing that's on the paper you have a typo then you're not like it's not like karen
