- Debate about whether it could skip PlayStation 5 generation; hosts argue Sony likely won’t abandon PS5 install base.
- Valve Steam machine won’t include a new Valve game pre-installed; devs cite Aperture Desk Job tweaks only. Half-Life 3 speculation is discussed as likely Game Awards teaser territory, but not confirmed.
Notable examples
- Fortnite’s Simpsons crossover map Springfield and themed battle pass/cosmetics; Mike spent about $30.
- Steam machine speculation tied to Steam Deck pack-in history (Aperture Desk Job) and Valve Index (Half-Life Alyx plan).

2:21And a Far Cry TV show has been announced. We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily.
2:35What's up, everybody? Welcome to your final Kind of Funny Games Daily for the week. I'm one of your hosts, Greg Miller, alongside the master of hype, snow bike, Mike. Hello, Mike. Good morning, Greg. It's nice to be by your side with a whole lot of energy. I'm feeling good. And happy holidays to you, your family, and of course, to everyone out there watching and listening. Hello, best friends. Hello, best friends. Of course, it is Tuesday, November 25th. This is our final day in the office because Thanksgiving is Thursday here in America. Yes. Not this weekend, which is what kebabs in the chat said before we went live, that they thought Thanksgiving was this weekend, so they didn't watch the content yesterday.
3:15I was confused all over. I mean, I know if you're not here, but the weekend and then the money was confusing for me. Mike, how are you? Dynamite job on the games cast yesterday. I sent you guys a lovely little note to let you know. You did a great games cast yesterday. Your Kingdom Come review was great. Mainly, I just never hear Blessing get angry. And so to hear Blessing get angry, damn it, you're pissing me off. Stop saying that. Yeah, that went through me for a loop because I'd never seen Blessing get angry. And when he said, I forgot what I was going to say, Mike, I knew I had him there. But yeah, thanks to you and the team for allowing me the little spotlight to talk about that on the Gamescast.
3:53It had been a fun kind of just get lost in a video game for the past couple of weeks. And that's the big thing. You spent 80 hours in this game. Yeah, 80 plus hours. Now you're finally free. What hot game did you take down? What brand new titles did you go after last night? You know, I jumped in. So last night I finally lined up what I want to do here for the next couple of days, right? And I started putting things on the board. Want to play Anno for the first time. I never played an Anno title. That's up there, right? Then I said, I got to get to Expedition 33. I said, I'll save that for the break on Wednesday on Beyond.
4:24But then, Greg, I said, you know what I've missed out on? And it only has a couple days left. Fortnite, a.k.a. Fortnite crossover with the Simpsons. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. And, Greg, this team over at Epic Games knocked it out of the park. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's amazing. Have you seen it at all? Oh, yeah, of course I have. Greg, then you know they crushed Springfield. I couldn't believe it I couldn't believe it I mean I jumped in I guess like I knew what was what they had done because I had seen plenty of streams about it but I didn't know the detail the level how great they did with all of this you have your themed battle passes which was to be expected every single character they put in costume wise looks great right Bart and Lisa I don't like the cyborg bodies I know they got to be a certain height but like I don't love the cyborg carrier bodies, but like Marge, Sexy Flanders, Homer, all look great.
5:20Blinky, the three-eyed fish. Great callbacks. I know you've watched a lot of Simpsons. I have watched a lot of Simpsons. Like I have. And jumping into Springfield where it's a whole dedicated map, the proper size, not too big, not too small, all the different neighborhoods from, of course, Evergreen Terrace, where the Simpsons live, all the way out to the nuclear power plant, Cletus's farm, which was great, Camp crusty it was kevin and i dropped last night or yesterday on uh burns's manor and immediately got killed so that was uh yeah we were back we were back uh yeah so i just wanted to highlight this i spent i thought it was going to be an hour to two hours of me just taking a little virtual tour yeah what they did before it was gone and it became five and a half hours of grinding the season pass uh maybe spending thirty dollars on you know just insane cosmetics like scooby-doo a flamingo text the flamingo and an$8 pair of shoes that I had.
6:17God damn it, Mike. Fucking Mike. They looked great. Nikes. I hate you. I hate you. So the question then becomes, I mean, this is the end of Simpsons Fortnite. Are you now all in? Are you going to commit? Are you going to play nonstop until it's all done? Or do you regret waiting as long as you did to jump in there? I do regret waiting until the very end because I wish I could have done one more good day with this. you know Greg we've done it with our community before here at Kind of Funny but we've done the hide and seek where we get a custom lobby and I just say everybody go hide and I'm going to come find Jen it's just this fun day of community games I wish I did that because I do love that I also wish I did a full virtual tour right of like let's get in the car let's go to every house everything because like the details are unbelievable Ned Flanders his house so great did you know he married Edna Krabappel?
7:07No that was well after my time That was well after my time. I forget. It's even probably been a decade since. I remember when BuzzFeed did a list of like, here's everything that happened to the Simpsons since you stopped watching. And some of the fucking shit they were saying. Holy shit. So, no, I had missed that that had happened. And, you know, we never talk about the neighbors to the left of the Simpsons. We always talk about Ned Flanders. But, like, who's that house? Who lives there? No idea. Remember when George Bush was his neighbor? I remember that. And so, yeah. Gerald Ford moved in. Homer, do you like beer?
7:37Do you like nachos? Do you like football? Do you want to come over to my house and have some beers and nachos and watch football? But I loved it. I loved it. They both fell down. I had to have my parents explain that joke to me. My question is, what happens to the map, Greg? Does that just go away? Will they put it back in rotation once a year to celebrate? Yes. Or can I custom game it where I can, maybe I don't want to leave? I think all options are on the table. I, of course, just went to a Fortnite event down in L.A. where I saw Yuki's Revenge, the Quentin Tarantino thing you'll hear more about.
8:09maybe more whatever we saw the whole thing you know it's out there whatever I don't think they've released all the details of what we saw so I'll pipe down on that but I hung out with this little streamer never heard of him before probably never see him again his name's Sancho West oh and Sancho and I talked at great length about this and one of the things he brought up was of course like as Mr. Fortnite as he is he's like there's no way they invested this much money and time into making this for it to be this short so Sancho's pitch was bring it back if not every year definitely next year and do a tree horse of tree house of horror theme bring it back in october have you know use the same thing but make it all funny and do all this different stuff and then yeah i'm not even familiar with how they use it in all their different mode fortnight is still overwhelming now we turned to that when kevin and i turned it on yesterday to play and i was like okay fuck i'm gotta go into battle royale but find zero build but here are these creations and here are the things people are doing and it's like okay okay okay okay they have a display problem they have like a whole just like menu problem i don't know if it's a display problem because people find what they want and they definitely put the money into it i get it i just i i get on i turn it on and it's just visually overstimulating and it's too much i just want to find something it reminds me of call of duty when call of duty got out of hand gotcha where it's like it's just too much going on here yeah figure it out refine it but like they have to promote a thousand things that they have which is so you already talked about the shoes before we move on because there's obviously lots of game news to do you jump back into fortnight for the first time and how long you think probably Probably once a year.
9:36Yeah, this is my yearly. How much money did you spend last night, you think? I gave him 30. Okay. I gave him 30 V-Bucks,$30 in V-Bucks, which is like, yeah, 5 ,000. I had 1 ,000 in the bank. Okay. Needed to get the battle pass. Okay. You know. Are your Fortnite crew now, right? Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. I think it all in. I don't know. I didn't look at that. I didn't check it out. I was shocked. Me and Kevin had already done it. I logged in yesterday to play with him and see the thing. And it was like, oh, okay, cool. Like I'd already in the back of Epic a long time ago Put my Xbox and my thing there And I logged in and was like you're a member Don't worry about anything You like that cute little banana sidekick?
10:11No I don't like him at all You don't like Peely the dog? I like Peely
10:19I'm not a fan of that But you can also buy it with Chihuahua Make it a wiener dog and I'll give a shit They will 100 % have a wiener dog I can promise you that They will definitely have one We got a dog on set perfect creation god made this perfect creation and we're not going to put this into video games we're going to put fucking banana chihuahuas in there other fucking chihuahuas in there yeah no wiener dogs y 'all that's the future all right yo tiero taco bell that had its chance it's over now now it's the age of the wiener dog i love that remember this is kind of funny games daily each and every weekday we run you through the nerdy video game news you need to know about live on youtube.com slash kindoffunnygames, twitch.tv slash kindoffunnygames, and podcast services around the globe.

13:57Number one, Naughty Dog's Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet, reportedly still years from release. This is the one, the only, Tom Phillips from IGN.com. Before we dive in, Super Chats be part of the show. Is the wait too long for Naughty Dog's next game? We go to Tom at IGN. Despite being revealed at last year's Game Awards, Naughty Dog's upcoming Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet it is reportedly still years away from launch. Fans of The Uncharted and The Last of Us Studio should also not expect another glimpse of the project at next month's annual video games awards ceremony, it was claimed. In March this year, in a conversation with 28 years later director Alex Garland, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann said the developer still had quote-unquote a ways to go on the project.
14:42During the same month, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier stated that the game would not launch in 2026, parentheses and neither would the witcher 4 either this month schreier has now repeated his statement once again placing intergalactic's arrival as 2027 at the earliest and potentially skipping the playstation 5 generation altogether meanwhile giant bombs jeff grubb has claimed the won't be making a second appearance in trailer form at the game awards this year in other news water wet what are we talking about mike were you expecting intergalactic anytime soon what the fuck is going on uh i guess no it wasn't on my bingo card for 2026 there greg um i think i'm like many sony fans and many just video game fans in general of like you know you tease me with these games i get excited for them and maybe i don't understand the inner workings behind the scenes of how long it takes to make a video game and i get excited i want that game to come out sooner than later especially when you show it to me right wolverine out there right four years ago a playstation exclusive that i'm fully expecting next year exactly exactly right so yeah it's just one of those of we're in this weird cycle of you tease it i get excited i expect it sooner than later then we get to the realities of making video games is extremely hard it takes a lot of time especially when you make super high quality games as playstation is known for and that's where it goes was i expecting intergalactic 2026 no okay good to know uh i yeah I'm I guess it's the game awards that where the smoke the fire kind of thing is coming up and where it is I wouldn't have expected it next year for sure and I wouldn't expect a trailer drop this year because I feel like if the game is far out which I expected it to be you drop this one teaser and you shut up until you have hey we're starting up the campaign for launch like we are moving towards it I guess for me shocking isn't the right word uh but the most interesting conjecture here is the perhaps skipping the PlayStation 5 generation altogether, right?
16:49I don't, I mean, no, absolutely not. You don't buy that. Not, I don't believe that at all. Generation exclusive. And again, like we're reading from Tom Phillips at IGN and I haven't kept up. I'm rarely on the socials these days and much. This month's Shire has now repeated a statement. Once again, placing Intergalactic's arrival as 2027 at the earliest and potentially skipping the PS5 generation altogether. You're wrong. Chats, keep me honest. if somebody could find the Jason Schreier article, Blue Sky, whatever about it. I'd like to see in context what he's saying there. Because I could see like, oh yeah, it's coming out 2027 at the earliest.
17:25It might be coming out alongside PS6. But now we're just repeating what we did with The Last of Us Part II. And there's no way in God's green earth that PlayStation, Sony, Herman, is going to sit there and be like, all right, cool, you know what? We have this giant install base with the PlayStation 5, but this gorgeous game that could run on it only put on the PlayStation 6. I mean... That's crazy. I think you do the Last of Us Part II business where you're like, hey, cool, this came out the same year as the PlayStation, the next PlayStation, but it's coming out of the old generation where there's an install, where we're all set, right?
18:00Boom. That's locked to go. And then you either do the Miles Morales, you know, what we're seeing with the Switch 2 games as well, Miles Morales PS4, PS5 thing, and have two versions, or more than likely, You just copy the exact same fucking playbook we ran with the last of those part two, and you put it on a PlayStation four. And then years later, you put it out again, remaster, whatever they call that version on PlayStation five. Except now I'm talking PlayStation five to PlayStation six. I like all of that, Greg. I have no problem. I appreciate that quite a bit. Thank you. Sky in the super chat says, please, for the love of God, stop showing me games that aren't coming out for five damn years.
18:34Mike, how do you come down on this? Yeah, I mean. I am someone who likes to be teased and I am someone who loves a good little showing of a game, a glimpse of a game and then yes, I'm usually the one to be hurt when it's five years later but if there's something big like when I think of Naughty Dog I think of we usually are working on one special big project and that's going to be the game yeah, this seems about right we tease it, we're going to go dark for a while we're going to let you know we're making that and then we're going on especially from a team who's been making a lot of remasters lately right of like hey love last of us love the last of us part two then we got deep into the remaster remakes and it was like i need something new from you i think i i appreciate them showing their cards and at least saying hey we got something and it's totally different than what you thought mike because i thought we'd just go right back to uncharted oh i truly believe it would be we're just going to go back to an uncharted type vibe i think the other thing we talk about naughty dog getting out and talking about this i think again we have to address not the elephant in the room by the stretch of the imagination but playstation is still coming off a failed live service push playstation is trying to reclaim what goodwill they lost which gets lost because xbox is fucked up so badly recently but naughty dog how far out are you in this game what's going on remember naughty dog was supposed to be doing a live service multiplayer last of his game right now they that should have been out probably what this year maybe end of last year and they should have been supporting that and obviously the bulk of people who are working on that would have then moved over to intergalactic i assume i don't know how many teams were running yada yada yada but that's generally how you see games and batons get handed off so announcing intergalactic last year at the game awards and making a big deal and it's neil's new game is an incredibly smart business marketing move because we get to change the narrative that last of us multiplayer the live service push was standing in the way of me getting the single player playstation games i want on top of that they knew neil was going to be out for the dog and pony show that was the last of a season two so every interview in variety in deadline you get to bring up we're also working on this game so the people who are reading this that love the show that went and bought a playstation to play the games now understand the guy who made the thing is making another like this is marketing this is telling a story this is spinning a narrative of what's going on which is important like that right yeah yeah i I like that, but at the same time, if that Last of Us did come out, you would have the double win of people celebrating or hopefully enjoying this Last of Us multiplayer game.
21:07And then the idea of like, hey, we're still making great single player games. We got this coming as well, right? So you get that double win. But now, we're changing that narrative. Okay, I'm looking through my you're wrongs here. We're getting closer. So we go from Reddit where this all started. I see Jason commenting on the rumor that Colin I know this man said Intergalactic was reportedly content complete possible GTA or TGA appearance potential launch in 2026 Jason counter again what I was looking for it is this is such nerdy syntax I apologize what I was commenting on and wanting clarification on Tom Phillips is did Jason Schreier say that oh it's potentially skipping the PlayStation 5 generation or is Tom just saying 2027 at the earliest which theoretically could skip it I'm into the minutia of it I'm just saying I don't think jason said at any point this is a ps6 game but thank you for getting me there okay okay nobody's nobody's answering the question i have uh also do you think playstation gamers are just eager and excited for the next big title as playstation has kind of slowed down due to the higher quality of games the less releases from the first party of course i think we talk about that with playstation all the time in this audience that is what is playstation's identity we did a whole ps i love you tribute games cast recently right where it was like playstation's kind of merged in like no there are there is no face there are there are few games there's all this different stuff of like what are the marching orders and what are we doing i think the audience yeah craves that and that's why the hardcore among us which i count you as listener viewer somebody who's listening to a nerdy show about video games every day you're here and you're buying your playstation probably because you want those kind of games yes you're being supported by all these great third parties and other games you can jump in but the reason you probably picked a playstation over an xbox is that exclusive library and playstation knows they have to advertise what that is especially as it's not as robust as previous generations it's not bad but i feel like in the previous generations it was a constant drum beat of here's what's coming and why i think it had been so quiet for so long that to get intergalactic was big to get more on wolverine this year was big to get ghost of Yote in our hands, right?
23:22That's what we're talking about as you go. And I feel like we're just moving the wheels and trying to do that as we steamroll towards getting this game out eventually. Let me see other people who are writing in about this. Subtext Superchat and says, it's just painful to go nearly an entire generation without a new game from arguably Sony's best studio. The Last of Us online experiment really hurt. And it did, right? I think, you know, you have the best laid plans of mice and men here. Where you plan on this, you hope it's going to be great, but you take that chance on something outside of the wheelhouse of what Naughty Dog is known for.
23:55No shade to Uncharted multiplayer. No shade to Last of Us factions. But not their bread and butter. And so, yeah, you have something like this where if it misses, boom, there you go. Yeah, that's an unfortunate one. You get caught behind the eight ball on that. And it's just time and effort that you're now wasting. Do you think with how hot Ark Raiders is right now, right, you see that kind of post-apocalyptic world, do you think we're kicking ourselves going, man, what could have been? or do you think behind the scenes it really was that bad where it's like we just couldn't have pulled this off because you look at our creators you could easily see yourself as like you could put clickers out here and the zombie infected ask oh yeah we're in yeah i think i think you have a yes and no about it where i'm sure people at playstation look at it go oh man that could have been us that could have been that but again i do think even though i argue to some degree with Naughty Dog who were like hey the game was coming together and it was great but we realized we wouldn't be the same studio and it's like there's truth to that I also don't fully buy the game was coming together great because I believe if that was the case PlayStation would go you know what cool give us everything and we'll move it over here and Sony Ben cancel whatever the fuck you're doing come work on like you could have we could have co-joint done this unless again I wonder what the pull of Naughty Dog is in PlayStation if it really is they come to Neil Druckmann he's like fuck no and they go all right we won't kill the golden goose we're not gonna piss you off whatever you want please don't go to hollywood stay here and make video games i don't know anyway um so yes and no i think i think if you go to if you go to work at naughty though you go there because you want to make uncharted last of us single player narrative game we're pushing the genre we're pushing the industry forward and so going there and then it's like cool now we're making this live service switch up the culture multiplayer thing i i think there were probably were enough people like i don't so i mean there's yes and no but i don't think they're hurting and then it's always the thing too of where we come back to of let's talk about expectations you know square comes out this game that everybody loved and gave great scores to didn't meet expectations expectations are a dangerous thing and as your company gets bigger and bigger and bigger and you're owned by a bigger and bigger conglomerate those expectations grow exponentially so the success of arc raiders and i'm greg well the short answer i think it would have been a success for playstation as well but the success of arc raiders would that have worked for a naughty dog would naughty dog and playstation and all the internals looked at the numbers they would go like this is we nailed this is what we wanted so we need of a lot would have been bigger arguably yeah probably right because it would be yeah i want to run around do this whole thing or then you would have inevitably the people who are joining it and being pissed off that well this isn't the Naughty Dog narrative.
26:39I'm just running out and collecting tin cans and coming back to my base. This sucks. You know what I mean? Whereas an art creator is like, oh, a fucking spring. This is great.
26:51Now, see, Christoph in here with the Naughty Dog line. It was never about how good factions was going to be. Naughty Dog would have had to turn into a live scene. Yeah, but I also think there's something that I've got. And the final one, Mr. Jim Bob5895. Sean Eskai is doing a second game at Naughty Dog. That comes first.
27:14What does that mean? There's a second game at Naughty Dog? Yeah, Sean came back from Crystal. Sean worked at Naughty Dog, went to Crystal, and then came back to Naughty Dog, I believe. Maybe. I don't think I'm missing a stop in there. And so there's been a whole thing that he's working on a game over there as well. And you think that could be before? That's what Mr. Jim Bob is saying. Saying to me. I mean, I would never put anything past anybody. Of course. But I think that would also... I think that would... that would be a great game award swerve. And now something you're really going to like screen goes dark, Sony interactive, you know, PlayStation studios, naughty dog, everybody gets flipped and then it's completely different.
27:49That'd be fucking rad as fuck. Yeah. That would be fucking rad as fuck. But is that what's happening? I don't know. Could it come out before this? Of course. Again, like think about what we're talking about right now. Intergalactic, a new IP from Neil Druckmann from not game. This is the,
28:12Kojima territory where people expect that much from a Neil Druckmann game. And so like a lot of eyes are going to be on this.
28:23If I'm going to be like, no, no, we're not going to. Let's move on. Valve says no.
28:36video games. Valve representatives have quashed the idea that a new Valve developed game with its upcoming Steam machine. The company announced the Steam machine Hey, I know that, Muff. A gaming device designed with living room environments in mind. Following the announcement, popular speculation began swirling regarding the possibility that Valve may be planning to release a new game in tandem with the device. As to be expected, Valve's long-awaited sequel, Half-Life 3, became a much-talked-about possibility. The company also has historical precedent for pack-in games. The release of the Steam Deck came alongside a free-game Aperture Desk Job, and Half-Life Alyx was originally planned to release alongside the Valve Index VR headset.
29:21Speaking on an episode of Friends Per Second Podcast, something I've never heard of. Oh. Who's on it? Lucy James. disgusting no we love we love ralph uh speaking on an episode of the friends per second podcast however uh developer pierre loop gruff uh and as i made all that up by the way giraffe it's french pierre i got yeah loop i'll and then get giraffe but it's not giraffe yeah it looks like giraffe but no no and designer lawrence yang gave it a definitive answer the duo were asked quote is there any chance at all the steam deck machine comes pre-installed with a brand new valve game giraffe responded with a definitive no he elaborated i think in practice we're making some tweaks to the aperture desk job interactive shorts to be playable with the steam controller because there's a ton of overlap you know it's kind of a guided tour of the controls of the steam deck so you might install that on your steam machine and try it out but i think we're excited about all the other games that are out there that you'll be able to play in quote yang attempted to provide some consolation however quote if you have a steam deck you can just throw your micro sd from your steam deck into your steam machine uh then all those games that's pretty cool all those games that are are games that are pre-installed on your steam machine when it turns on it might include a game from us question mark okay okay okay okay i appreciate everyone at kind of funny yeah couldn't do this job without you well i could i just i actually probably be more successful without all of you but it doesn't matter blessing bullet point number two to open the bad news for half-life three speculation okay kevin barrett in there do we have the speculation station hit that fucking i've seen that i've never used it take it to the fucking bank okay half-life three launches alongside this whoa yeah it's not a pack-in.
31:22It's not a pack-in. Okay, fine. I'll give you that ground. I was never, ever expecting that. They want the 70, 80 bucks out of you. Probably 60 because Valve just does the nicest things of all time. This fucker is coming. I also think it's a lock for Game Awards.
31:42Katie G, write it down. I'll take that pizza bet right now. Hit the pizza bet. I'll take that pizza bet right now because you and Roger have been in my ear for the past two weeks since this thing has been announced. Mike, Half-Life 3 this, Half-Life 3 that. Where's the yacht? Where's Gabe? I'm not believing any of this. Half-Life 3 is coming. I'm not believing any of this. Don't worry about it. Why don't you believe it? It makes so much sense. Here's the Steam machine. Here's the controller. We all talk about it. Here's Deadlock, the hip MOBA that we've been working on. Oh, go fuck yourself with this.
32:16You know what I mean? We're not giving you Half-Life. Here's the MOBA with microtransactions. Do I got to use my, do I got to use, can I use a controller with that shit? Yeah, you can use a controller. Fuck me. That's what you're going to be playing. Disgusting. Get out of here. You think you're getting a half-life. You're getting a MOBA. Enjoy it. Half-life 3 is coming alongside the Sneed Machine. Again, not a packing. No, no, no. That would be wild. That would be super exciting. If not now, then when? What? I mean, I'm sorry. I know you're. I know how you people are. Yeah. You sick, twisted, demented, fucking BDSM weird fucks that like PC gaming.
32:50all right and your MOBAs we're launching a system made to go into your living room we want the most casual video gamers of all time you don't come up and go we got a new MOBA for you you get the fuck out of here with that shit you say Half-Life 3 I was at I Gregway I talked about this dad I was out to drinks with the other night right who is not a gamer wanted to talk about GTA 6 and then he knew about the steam machine and I mentioned Half-Life 3 and he exploded like that is what they want. Really? The Half-Life gamers are out there. The youth doesn't know what Half-Life is. It doesn't matter.
Read the full transcript
33:26The youth doesn't give a shit about the machine. The youth ain't buying a Steam machine. Their parents are buying it. Yeah, they are. That's happening no matter what. Are they buying it when it ends up being near 1K? It's going to be cheaper than that, Barrett. Don't worry about it. Okay. So, it's going to happen and then your point of Half-Life 3 isn't happening. What are you talking about? What was the point of Alex then? It rewrites the ending of Half-Life 2 so you can have Half-Life 3. Spoilers! I haven't played it yet. I haven't played that one yet. You're never, I'm sorry. We reviewed that during COVID.
33:53You don't want to know about the end of Half-Life, Alex. Half-Life 1 and 2 this year. I'm tearing through them. I'm doing great. Well, guess what? Your fucking bullshit ending doesn't matter. And if Half-Life 3 comes out, then I'm riding high. That's why I'm excited about this. I just, yes, real Mike, the idea of Half-Life 3 is super exciting. The idea of coming out with a console and competing, right? Yes, you need the Half-Life 3 title. That would be massive. all eyes on you everybody all the old heads are going to be talking about it the young kids Paris' son is going to be asking his dad what the hell is Half-Life why do I need to know about it then the excitement builds for the youth usually Paris' son just asks his dad what went wrong why are you the way you are boy blank period but yeah I mean I think the easy bet is to doubt that this is even real or that it will be time but like haven't they all been I guess like Mike who wants to know more haven't people been holding on to the idea of Half-Life 3 for years decades now?
34:54They have why wouldn't they have put out one yet? Because you're Valve you're like the most profitable business of all time or whatever that chart was I saw the other day you have to sit here and be so in awe of a company that stands on business we make so much money that we don't have to release a video game until we think it is perfection or as good as it could possibly be. Or like we talk all the time of the intersection of business and art. And the fact that they are a business that's like the arts first. We don't fight. Now, I hate that they buy developers and then they just never make games again.
35:32But it's like, I also go there and I'm like, goddamn, okay. Like you guys are cooking in a way that we, I mean, as I see fucking every other acquisition and with these things being just stripped of their very soul. you know what i mean i'm like the games are no longer anything what you want them to be they're just trying to make money now when i think of half-life 3 i think of the half-life 2 nvidia geforce remix that they were showcasing and we did the small demo of just one level like why is that not out yet to get people excited for this right should that not be first and then on to half-life three i'm not gonna sit here and deal with these facts you're throwing at me all right it's like what's the deal with that i mean it still could be we still got months until we get the steam deck you know maybe that steam machine whatever that would be the excitement is right yeah i guess so you've been in the industry for a long long time greg yeah what half-life three to you has there always been murmur of people working on this have there been ideas that what they just don't like because the art comes first and just well like why not put out a half-assed half-life three and just it's been 10 15 years do they've had to have put out one and just said ah that one didn't hit the mark my bad you know what i mean what the fuck is wrong with you what do you mean why why isn't rockstar to shitting out gtas anymore they were yeah they were great though they were great well i mean take away the you know the remaster collection whatever i'm talking about you know san andreas and vice city i just i guess my mind is wrapping up like if it's been 15 years whatever it is how we haven't been able to put one together in that amount of time yeah that's crazy well i mean and i but also we don't know what active production looks like right like Like, I mean, there has been things coming out of Valve and then this push to hardware and then buying people.
37:15Like, I always fuck this one up. They bought Campo Santos, right? The fire wash people who are making. Valley of the God. Yeah. Are they anymore, though? No, no. I don't. Who knows? They got absorbed in there in the mind. They're in the fucking mind meld the valve. Nobody knows what they're doing. But no, there's always been. Not always. There's murmurs quite often about Half-Life 3. Whispers. Someone Half-Life 3 is being worked on. Period. Okay. Point blank. Yes. And I think this is the time. This is the time. Like, this is the fucking time. Because, again, you'd be like, Half-Life 3 is out. Of course, it plays on any PC, whatever.
37:48But we are also putting out this mass market PC that you could get right now and plug into your thing and be competitive with your PlayStation. And it'll be$900. Barrett, shut up. Everything's expensive. When we talk about it, yes, this is the moment that you would plant the flag. A hundred percent. That would be epic. That would be the right business call. That would be everything. So, yeah, I like that. So you think game awards, though, we get some sort of tease. I think that's when you get the trailer. Yeah. Yeah. Again, that I fall back to, of course, the stars lining up, the cards being on the table, Jeff being so close with Valve.
38:23Yeah. You know what I mean? And I think, again, we then jump back to what they're doing right now with the Steam machine just from a marketing perspective of here it is, here's the hands-on, no mention of price. So everybody's waiting on that, right? And I feel like you, this is where I'm out of the, I'm not a marketer, where I don't know if you give them the good news of Half-Life and then the bad news of the price, or if the good news of Half-Life supersedes the price, whatever that would be if it's bad or whatever. Like, there's some combination there I think that works too. Yeah, there's some combination of like, if you were to announce Half-Life 3, then the pre-orders, no matter what the price is, it's going to go crazy, right?
38:59For sure. And we're switching my mic, is that what's happening? Very exciting stuff. I got two mics now, even louder. That's not how that works That doesn't work that way? Shit, sorry everybody So let me get some super chats in here BanderSN says The youth didn't care about Baldur's Gate until Fucking point on you You just dunked on your ass You know what I mean? Great job

Alert your doctor right away as difficulty swallowing, speaking, breathing, eye problems or muscle weakness can be signs of a life-threatening condition. Patients with these conditions before injection are at highest risk. Side effects may include allergic reactions, neck and injection site pain, fatigue, and headache. Allergic reactions can include rash, welts, asthma symptoms, and dizziness. Don't receive Botox if there's a skin infection. 47:44Yeah, FX took that personally a brand new Far Cry anthology series is coming to Hulu with a whole new setting new cast and the exact level of chaos your therapist told you to avoid good luck out there I'll tell you man that tweet turns me off to the entire fucking thing shut the fuck up shut up tweet fucking weird Grok fucking out there writing this shit. Okay. They took that personally. All right. I'll see you later. Good luck. He doesn't like your tweet. Good luck, everybody. Good luck. Go get them. Let's talk about the show, though. Are you excited at all about a Far Cry TV show? No. I just, it's, we talk about video games being announced too early.
48:27Okay. Entertainment properties get announced often too early and then never, like, what? is this going to be the Ubisoft one that happens is this going to be the Ubisoft one that happens and is good I know Roger's not here but I know he's yelling at me about that Splinter Cell show it's sure okay like I enjoy the Far Cry games but I enjoy them for their freedom and sandbox and I'm going to go fuck around and kill a Jaguar and make a wallet like I don't know in a show what that would net out to be and I don't have that level like when I I think of Far Cry and it's over-the-top villains and the over-the-top action.
49:06Yeah. I can see where that would lend itself to a show, but is this a comedy too? You know, Rob Mack's known for fun stuff. Yeah, Mack will bring a little bit of, yeah, there'll be some fun in it, but I think it'll be a little more gritty, a little more hardcore for sure. I mean, we're talking about the guy behind Alien Earth right now that just got done. We liked that show. I liked five episodes. Fargo right there. So it's like he's got a whole lot of skill there. I'm not saying he's not. Plus Rob Mack, right? But yeah, I agree with you. in the way, Greg, of like Ubisoft and I think of some of the stuff, Assassin's Creed, the movie, I'm looking at you, right?
49:38Prince of Persia? I don't have the biggest faith, but a lot of these shows have been very good lately, right? We've been tracking in a better way. We've been trending in a better way of like more of these are good than bad, which is nice. Far Cry, I do agree with you, is a little harder to land in my eyes because it is the freedom of me doing insane, stupid things and I don't know if that really lends itself well to a TV show. Also, So for me, I thought we'd be going back. Maybe we'd be picking some of the iconic characters, villains and stuff. But when it says new setting, new cast, and the exact level of chaos.
50:12Well, this is one of the things, the Voss voice actor, who's also his performance capture, had been making the rounds here and there, I know, on things he had said. I think you could still get away with new characters. There's new characters. There's still Voss. There's still whatever. You think Voss on the island, though? Oh, I knew. Yeah, maybe. I don't know. Yeah. That's where I kind of go, eh, maybe, right? Because I thought easily season one would be Voss on the Island. That's your layup, right, for most people. Still could be some kind of prequel, Newcastle. You know what I mean? But good luck to you.
50:41Go get them. You know what I mean? We'll see where this goes. I like Rob Mack a lot. Where's my Division movie? Wasn't Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain cast in my Division? Where's my Division mobile game? Where's Division Heartland? Where's Division fucking three? Rob Mack. stop making your fucking soccer teams and make video games every like Mythic Quest was a lot of fun I only like season 1 actually crazy I will say FX it's rare that they miss so if they're back in this they got a lot of good production teams they have something to write I do remember that actually that was their thing number 4 on the Roper Report Skate Season 2 has been revealed.
51:32We have a trailer. Have you watched it yet? I watched it. Can we watch it again? Can we watch the trailer sound up? Because I want to talk about it. Yeah, me too.
51:45Landing tricks alone?
51:50I am alone. Talking to fire hydrants? Me? Yes, you. Are your old trucks your best friends? Allegedly. then you might be suffering from Solo Stoke.
52:06Tired of patting yourself on the back? Stop being your number one fan and say hello to friends. Friends? Friends? Amigos. Chingu. I'm Michu. Friends are great. Does anyone want to hang out?
52:22Nice and possible, man. Thanks. It's new. That's friendship. Season two comes with everything you see here. Roofs and tunnels. Whoa! And co-op with your bro-op in collab mode. It's not chaos if you call a teamwork.
52:42Party voice chat! You're gonna go out and smack that! Better replays. Observe, rewind, deny responsibility. Who did it? Not me. What the? Threads, boards, rewards. Look better? Feel something. The rat's making me flawless. All right. Play for free.
53:09This is where I fell in love. Oh my god. Yes. This is where I was like, yeah, this guy's got it. The voices in the patch notes would walk. Season 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2. 2. Reggie said this would happen. who put a candle in the hot dog for long oh god whose baby is this i like that kind of humor mike we're back to why don't they just keep tim robinson around forever everything yes i think a lot of people i see in the live chat right now are not happy with that right they've gone too far i see some of that and i think this is exactly where it was supposed to be i think it feels like it's gone too far from the initial on skirt of the ai v robot that threw you off.
53:55Skater eyes. And now it's hard to get back to where we want it to be, which is something similar resembling this. Yeah, I would like that here for all my stuff. Yeah, yeah. Skate season pass, season two starts December 2nd and runs through March 3rd. The bullet points are new skatable areas, new challenges and tasks, seasonal events, new tricks and skatepedia updates, new brand partners, additional cosmetics and customization, new tracks to the soundtrack, a new skate pass with improvements in tuning, Bug fixes and quality of life improvements. With Season 2 Future Radical, we're heading back to the 80s, a time of neon lights, arcade machines, and pop versus punk.
54:34And what better way to experience this than with your friends? With a new co-op mode and party voice chat, it's never been easier to play together, plus there are new skatable air, the replay editor, yada, yada, yada. Yes. Mike, what is your top level here? I have a lot to talk about with you on this one, Greg. I do want to highlight one thing, of course. We're the internet's biggest skate fans. they touched on solo stoke right are you lonely it's time to bring in your friends that's a big one for this video game I want to bring up a good friend of mine back in the day my main man Kevin Cooper the sergeant of stoke back at Heavenly Mountain Resort he had the job that I thought was one of the coolest the head of marketing and communications and he always yelled share the stoke and that's what I want from skates right and that's why I'm glad that they're moving towards this multiplayer focus of like identifying hey, people want to skate with their friends.
55:22We got to do a better job at that. We didn't nail that in the launch and season one. We got to start moving towards that. That's exactly what I want to see. I want to share the stoke with my friends, my bros, okay? All the groms out there. All the groms. Gotta have the groms. For me, Greg, when I see this, I get excited, right? I like the 80s themes. I like what we're seeing in the tunnels and on the rooftops. The tunnels look really cool. I think some of the skate spots are looking fantastic for what I want to ride in. This game is going to have a giant uphill battle to try to regain the love and admiration and just the faith from its player base, right?
56:03The people that jumped in were put off and never came back, right? There are diehard fans that love it no matter what. Me and Greg are like right there on the fence of we are diehards. We love playing this game, but we're not the people every single day, but we're also the people that didn't turn it off and say, I'm never doing this again, right? And like skate now has to try to balance all of that. How do I get the diehards to stay? How do I get the people who fell off to come back? What are those things? Multiplayer own the spot, having more focused things for me and Greg and a party to do step one.
56:35Yeah. I think it'll be, it'll be interesting when this drops you and me jumping in. Yeah. Own the lot is the new thing inspired by, you know, own the spot before, but it's, we all get together and try to do this in a time limit, right? Like I like that idea and I could see you and me having a lot of fun with that and getting out there i think party chat's a great move that so many people complained about that uh again it's early access you know what i mean so to see them adding in stuff like this and more hand plants i'm a big fan of or whatever but it's the usual thing of it's early access but you are charging money and asking for money in these microtransactions and it's turned so many people off it'll be my thing with it mike here's a big question okay we can have a skate conversation when we play it later or whatever.
57:11But my big question is, do you think EA gives Skate enough time to fix this? Do they give full circle enough time to get this to a place where people are like, you know what, this is awesome. Because we love playing it, but then there's like everything around it. Their timer has begun, right? For sure. They got the good grace, I think, of the first part of the idea of being sold on, hey, we're going to go free to play like Fortnite. Hey, we're going to knock it out the park with microtransactions. I think EA heard that and they go, hell yeah, let's do that, right? And then they launched. They saw a bunch of people on day one with the free-to-play aspect.
57:48And then that fell off a cliff. And guess what? They hit the timer and they said, your timer starts now before I pull the plug on this whole idea. And so I think this team has their back against the walls, unfortunately. I don't think EA will give them enough time to truly land this. But they will give them time, right? This is a project that we will see, I think, for at least a year and a half from right now. Oh, from now. That's a two-year window, we'll call it. I think they get a solid two years of like, you are allowed to work and try before I give this up. Skate as a brand is too big to pull the plug after 12 months.
58:27Skate as an idea has an opportunity to continue to grab players and bring them back. Like, skate is an ever-evolving thing where it will get the trust of players back if you have the right things. And I could see a full kind of almost rebrand relaunch with a 1.0 a year and a half from now, which is the big moment of, like, this is our last chance before EA calls me and says, I have to turn all this off. That's what I give them. Man, I'm more concerned that they get a year from launch. Okay. But I think what gets interesting about it is where EA is at right now preparing for the Saudi deal. Speaking of number five on the Roper Report, Saudi Arabia's investment fund reported to be limiting new investments as cash runs low.
59:12This is Alex Forbes Calvin at GamesIndustry.biz. Saudi Arabia's public investment fund is allegedly low on cash for new investments after a multi-year spending spree on games and esports sectors. The New York Times has reports that the fund doesn't have a huge amount of capital to deploy at the moment thanks to a number of the projects it has invested in being in quote financial distress. These include the wildly ambitious new city region Neom, which was set to be built in the country's Tabuk, Providence, but has run into extensive construction issues which have been attributed to unrealistic planning.
59:50Other businesses yet to return investment include a coffee company, a cruise liner, and an electric vehicle startup. None of the assets named as being in trouble are within the video games industry in which the PIF has been a significant investor in recent years. The PIF values its total investments at nearly$1 trillion in assets, but a significant percentage of these are hard to sell assets with no public valuation. As a result, the NYT reports that the PIF reps have told international investors that it is, quote-unquote, unable to allocate for the near future. Despite this, a spokesperson for PIF, Marwan Baccarali, told the newspaper that it has$60 billion in cash and, quote, similar financial instruments.
1:00:38Recently, the PIF was one of the parties involved in the acquisition of U.S. publishing giant Electronic Arts, along with Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. The deal is worth$55 billion and is yet to complete, though EA CEO Andrew Wilson has said it should close in Q1 of the 27th financial fiscal year. A lot going on there, Greg. Yeah. A lot of money being thrown around. A lot of investment. A lot of investment. A couple of missed investments. Yeah. Of course, their goal is to diversify away from just oil and try to get involved in other aspects to continue to help that country make money. Yes.
1:01:16Also, as we've talked to wash their image and try to make it seem like they aren't killing journalists. The guy in charge of the investment fund, the crown prince, isn't the one going, yeah, butcher the Washington Post journalists and chop him up. They would like you to forget that because they, oh, look, the fucking WrestleMania is coming here. That's cool. Mr. Beast built. Oh, this is this place seems totally cool and not at all. Yeah. A living nightmare. So what does that mean for skate EA, any of these investments? I don't know, Greg, right? Yeah, no, no, obviously we don't know. It's an interesting one billion in cash.
1:01:56Obviously, like I'm not a fan and would love to see this, them be like, you know what? Maybe we got to dial this back and not buy up EA and buy up even more stuff. But even the idea of them folding and closing and going away, which I'm getting way down the timeline of all this stuff happening, would then put a lot of different places including our own industry into free fall as jobs and things dry up and so yeah we look at skate and how much time that gets on this which is like the least of the concerns with the pif i know but it is that idea of like does ea have to tighten the belt before this even happens or do they come in as the new owners go fucking tighten the belt what are we doing why are we on season five of this game nobody wants to be a fucking pigeon yeah i mean that there's so many so many variants of what that is is right greg of like they tighten the belt or they look at it and go this is something that we want to continue to push and try to make more mainstream right of like double down on this or do they just pull the plug who knows on that we'll have to wait to see as all this plays out uh imminently though right now number six we have a required reading for you this comes from the one the only rebecca valentine at ign unsettling horror game unsettling horror game horses banned from steam uh leaving the studio with quote high risk of closure i read you from rebecca's blue sky a really wild situation here a celebrated and well-regarded indie dev and publisher is facing shutdown because valve banned their game from steam and won't talk to them about it at all uh these are the guys who published uh mid oh no sorry mediterranean inferno uh i'm really bummed about this uh you can go read this an article over at ign.com again uh on unsettling horror game horses banned from steam leaving studio at high risk of closure a required reading for you to go check out link in the description below good job rebecca okay i will go read that i don't know anything about this yeah yeah uh mike saudi arabia and the pif not having money indie devs being removed from steam with no uh reasoning why you spending an absurd amount of money in fortnite these are all big stories those are big if i wanted something smaller say what came to the mom and grab shops where should i go Greg, let me take you to our last story, the Wii News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about.
1:04:14Number seven, the Wii News from The Verge. The Xbox Crocs are real. After releasing Windows XP-themed Crocs earlier this year, Microsoft is now putting an Xbox controller on your feet with a new limited edition pair of Crocs. I like to say they are real. Mike, we got them yesterday. I gave them to you. They came in a giant thing. I took one of the controllers because it is lime green and cool, but I gave you the Crocs. Might be one of their best controllers they've ever made. Yeah. One of the greatest. The Crocs, Greg, my first ever pair of Crocs. Thank you so much for making me feel so special.
1:04:47Yeah. These things hit like a glove. Yeah. It was like they were made for me. Yeah. They're perfect, Greg. I love them. I can't wait to kick that thing into sport mode and achieve ultimate dad status as I need to be. I got a, yeah, I have a Ghostbusters pair. How many Crocs do I need? I have Ghostbuster Crocs that I love and I wear when I walk the dog outside, the dog who's down here sleeping in his bag. And, yeah, Crocs are comfortable. They're a comfortable slipper. I can't wait to wear them all the time. I would love you to wear them all. Joey says I can pull them off. Oh, yeah. Joey's like, if there's somebody that can pull it off, Mike, it's going to be you.
1:05:20Fucking Adam Sandler 2.0. Yeah, you can wear them. Yeah, don't worry about it. Constance is out today. We have a trailer. Constance is a 2D hand-drawn action adventure featuring a paintbrush-wielding artist striving to escape from a colorful but decaying inner world created by her declining mental health. The Metacritic right now is in 83. The Opic Critic is in 84. I just bought a copy on Steam. Very nice. You're looking flashy. Ooh, I like the painting. Okay. Call of Duty Season 1 is coming December 4th. Are you excited for that? I'm one of the few that's been enjoying Call of Duty. Oh, okay, okay.
1:05:54So, yes, I am excited for Call of Duty. Hell yeah, okay, cool. But, yeah, I'm one of the few. Super Mario Party Jamboree. The official soundtrack is now available on the Nintendo music app. And from Wario 64, near automata switch to backwards compatibility issues have been fixed in a new system update. We jump over to the super chats to see who was talking about stuff that we need to jump in here. Alex Foley says, long time listener, first time live viewer throwing in a super chat cash on that good karma. LOL. Thanks for watching. Thank you so much for being there. Dova beat says, Barrett, you hear that new four year strong?
1:06:29No. Okay. Do you like Four Year Strong generally? I love them. Oh, nice. They put on some of the best shows at Warped Tour back in the day. No shit, really. Following up on the skate video, Dean says they couldn't get Tim Robinson back, huh? And I imagine he's very expensive. But then in the Zaxxon, you're wrong, says some additional context for the skate video. The guy in the video is Andrew Russo. He is a YouTuber with over 1 million subscribers where he does one-man sketch comedy. And guess what? I'm going to go subscribe now because I like that a lot. Morehammer says, Mike, thanks for taking the time to play through Kingdom Come Deliverance with everybody and giving your review.
1:07:11It's convinced me to give it a go. I'm four hours in and loving it. Have some fun with it. Up next, Expedition 33. Let me see how good that game is. I've heard no one talk about it, so I don't know what that'll do.
1:07:25I and I spent whatever, something like that. Off topic. but with the year coming to enter are you guys going to do a top games we played in 2025 not releasing in 2025 Gamescast? No. We won't be doing that. We preview a lot of games. You know? Top games I've played in 2025 that aren't coming out in 2025. So like I would imagine demos and previews and stuff like that. Early access maybe. Two years in a row deadlock. There you go. There it is. There you go. You get that. Yeah.
1:07:58Dova Beats super chatted a long time ago said finally gonna finish expedition 33 tonight deciding what my next game is going to be hollow knight yote silent hill or kingdom come what are you giving them what's your recommendation well you know me yeah i'm a vibe gamer vibe so i would you have to be you have to be in your own head about what your vibe what's your vibe out of that list personally i would do yote silent hill hollow knight such a are you committed to that thing or and then kingdom come at the bottom but it's just because kingdom come isn't what i want to do yeah i'd hit him with the hard swerve left I'd say Silent Hill F.

Mine is also a sweater, you know? Yeah. Now, will you go to a Nintendo store for the holidays? I got a new lineup, Greg.
1:09:05I got to go. I got the, I saw it in the Instagram feed. They had new shit. I'm like, God damn it. I got to go back there and check this shit out. See what's going on. What do you think? You think they'll have like sweaters and stuff? You think they'll have - The one sweater they had, I didn't think looked that great. Yeah. But I got to go see. You got to go see. Maybe they got a Tom Nook with a Santa hat. I'm hoping. I went to fucking the Nintendo store the day after Halloween. Oh. And they were like, oh, yeah, Gastly was here yesterday. You could have gotten your fucking photo taken with them.
1:09:29No. And I had missed it. They had done Pikachus that had a pumpkin body. And he's like, oh, they sold that. I'm like, ah, I would have bought that shit. I love wasting money on stuff. So we got to be mindful that they are doing fun things for the holidays. They are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, you know what? We should probably make it. Barrett, every day on your way to work, drive to the Nintendo store and find out what's happening before you come here. So we're up on it. Please. Thank you, Barrett. That's the opposite direction.
