I feel like I came in and out of the Nintendo Direct with Cranky Energy, and I feel like I'm going to carry that into story number one. Oh, don't be cranky here. I'm trying not to be, but I think it's just the one of like

3:01Andy Cortez:I did a sleep ball last night. Let me dial that back. Be what you gotta be. I don't mean to come in and tell you how to be. You gotta be cranky today. Be cranky Kong, do you think?

3:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:starting with our number one firstly i'll say if you're coming into kfgd and you're like oh i can't wait to hear them talk about the nintendo direct and break down all the news i have good news for you we're not talking about that here we have a whole episode of gamescast you can go to get it yeah we did that right before this uh breaking down all the announcements i've reacted then

4:11Andy Cortez:broke it down reviewed it like we always do and what's also interesting to call out of course is that we weren't going to do games daily today yeah the idea was well we'll do game originally it was supposed to be games cast is going to be the fallout review today period then nintendo and s is their thing okay we'll do nintendo then we'll do a games cast of all fallout review for season two then i came in i was like hey with the steam machine news from last night we should and roger's like well so the horizon stuff this morning i'm like i don't even know what you're talking about yeah it was like all right we should do a games daily so we'll do fallout

4:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:conversations here that was the fun things a story number one horizon hunters gathering has been revealed you and i have been offline all day long yeah we don't know what we're getting into we got the instructions yesterday greg even put it on slack at 9 p.m last night hey don't check the internet when you wake up this morning that way we can react to the nintendo direct at 10 a.m and so yeah it wasn't until roger said oh yeah the hunt the horizon game the horizon game that i've been waiting on an announcement for for what feels like a forever yeah it's been legit years of us being like, all right, what is this Gorilla Horizon multiplayer game with a brand new art style that's co-op multiplayer that they've been talking about?

5:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Have you seen the art style? I saw our thumbnail. Okay, that's all I've seen too. That's what I saw too in between shows. Yes. And so me and Greg haven't seen anything about this. What we're going to do is watch the entire nine minute video, I believe is, which is them. It sounds like it's narrated. So it doesn't sound, if you're an audio listener, it's not like you're gonna hear nothing. Exactly. It looks like it's almost 10 minutes actually. Them breaking down what Horizon Hunters Gathering is, which already what do you think about that name?

5:39Andy Cortez:This name. Horizon Hunters Gathering. I don't like how that rolls off the tongue. No, because I mean, for years we've all Hunter Gatherer, right? We know like they're making a play on that. Yeah. And I don't like it. It makes it sound like I'm gathering berries out there, which I might be in the game, but it's like I don't know. I don't like it.

5:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Did we ever get the name of the like NetEase MMO? Not NetEase. Net Marvel. Marvel, no. Do we ever get the name of that MMO? You know what I'm talking about. The one that got sued? Yeah. Oh, no, not the one that... Didn't they announce another one? Didn't we see like a 10-minute video of a different one? Yeah, yeah.

6:16Andy Cortez:NC Soft.

6:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:NC Soft. Steel Frontiers. Horizon Steel Frontiers. I mean, that's cooler.

6:20Andy Cortez:That's a better name, yeah. But maybe we're gonna see this and it'll all make sense. Like, oh, that makes sense. I like that.

6:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Alright, Kevin, hit play on this thing.

6:28Andy Cortez:Oh, Jesus. Just spill this coffee over here.

6:32Greg Miller:Hi everyone, I'm Jan-Bart van Beek. I'm the studio director here at Guerrilla. Now at Guerrilla, we love exploring the Horizon universe. And with every new project, we ask ourselves, where can we take our players next? It's just like a store. Look at the untouched PlayStation VR 2 units in the back. And there are many of you wondering, but what is Guerrilla working on? And today, we get to show you. Before we dive in, I want to be very clear about one thing. We absolutely love making single player games. And we're going to keep making them. They're a huge part of who we are as a studio. But next to that, we also had this long-standing dream to try to do something different.

7:08Greg Miller:Our own take on how you can explore the world of Horizon together, as a team of machine hunters. It's something new, it stands on its own, but it's also still very much Horizon. Let's take a look at how this new journey begins.

7:25From the ashes of the old world.

7:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Very colorful.

7:30Andy Cortez:Yeah, very cartoony.

7:37Andy Cortez:You know what it looks like? Monster Hunter stories.

7:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. Can we get subtitles?

7:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The subtitles are cut off from people on YouTube. Oh, turn them off then. I'll try to do that for them. Alright, great. By the day.

8:09Greg Miller:All across the land.

8:11Andy Cortez:That's that one guy. Remember him?

8:13Greg Miller:People are dying.

8:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's not Ross. That's why our leader. No, that's her. That. Get to this command. Aloy. We have to fight. Aaron.

8:23Greg Miller:We have to fight. Back. And to do that, we need a team.

8:31Greg Miller:Soldiers. Who always hold the line.

8:42Andy Cortez:And mercenaries.

8:45Greg Miller:Who may have crossed it now and then. That's cool. Tank. Infiltrators who hide in the dark

9:05Greg Miller:And champions

9:11Greg Miller:Shine in the light Fucking wonk bullshit whose stories are just beginning

9:25Tim Gettys:and legends

9:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:looking for one last shot brother what is the gameplay you know i mean it's 10 minutes we're gonna get it the last line of defense

9:45Greg Miller:for those who need it most

9:53Greg Miller:made up of the greatest hunters in the land.

10:00Greg Miller:This is hunters gathering.

10:02Andy Cortez:Woof. Woof. I mean. So can we pause right here? What I'm going to tell you straight off the dome. Yeah. Outside of the name. It can only go down from here. Oh, 100%. I think that was a great trailer. That was exciting. But is this a hero thing? A shooter? do i can i customize it all or is it just these people what's the gameplay gonna look like what are we getting into i like what i just saw and i'm anticipating what comes my thing is i like

10:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:what we just saw i don't know if i like horizon being this like it's one of those things where this is a new ip or if this was based off of something i had more of an investment with with the world and the characters and all that i think i'd be more into this but when i look at this i don't think right like there's no part of the horizon part because like i i was worried when

10:48Andy Cortez:they talked about this multiplayer game from gorilla it was going to look like horizon and it was going to be three not aloe aloys where i'm just running around the bow and arrow and the big stick and yada yada the fact they're like here's a stealth class here's a tank class here's i'm like okay but is it about are we about to see a fucking i got an mmo and i got three lanes i mean based

11:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:off moba lanes yeah no i mean i would imagine that this is going to be more monster hunter like hopefully i know people already know but like i'm well you know but it's fun yeah you know i would hope that it's that but then that i feel like that doesn't meld with let's see what we just saw but let's see let's see but yeah so far i'm like man what a great animated art style i almost wish it was for something else sure fair even though i love horizon it's not even that i'm hating on it because it's horizon i'm more so it's like i i almost wonder how playstation views horizon i feel like playstation views horizon higher than it actually is i would agree with that all right

11:38Greg Miller:hit play thanks so yes we're going with a very different look here and that's very much by design horizon hunter's gathering is a very dynamic co-op action game we've tuned the combat so it works really well for a team of hunters and we believe that works best when supported by an art style that really matches that energy we're going to be showing you more gameplay in a minute so you can judge that for yourself now one more thing before we continue this game is still very much in development. Some things are going to be polished, others are still going to change. And that's exactly why we want to bring you in this early.

12:13Greg Miller:So stay tuned to the end because we want to invite you to come and help playtest the game with us and be part of giving the game its final shape. Early access. Hi, I'm Ryan Buck, game director at Guerrilla. With Hunters Gathering, we're bringing back what makes Horizon so unique. Set in the American West, a thousand years from now, Civilization has collapsed. The hunters are all that stand between the tribes and the massive animal-like machines that threaten their survival. And the crisis is only getting worse. The machines have grown deadlier and are more dangerous by the day. Someone has to step up and push back.

12:49Greg Miller:And that is the gathering. J-Patrick in chat says, it's reminding you of Dauntless,

12:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:which is actually pretty cool. Yeah, 100%.

12:55Greg Miller:We'll launch with a roster of hunters that grows over time. In our first playtest, you'll be able to play as Rem, Sun, and Axel. Three Hunters with very different approaches to combat and teamwork.

13:08Andy Cortez:Let's fight!

13:09Greg Miller:Combat is at the core of Hunter's Gathering.

13:15Greg Miller:Incoming attack! It is tactical, reactive, and skill-based. You took the precision and tactical depth of Verizon's combat and built it for a team environment. You'll have to beat enemy movements, time your attacks, and combine abilities with your squad to take down the most powerful machines. Okay. It is a challenging game, and you really have to earn that victory. And when you start a mission, you pick and prepare your hunter. Each has very different melee, ranged playstyles, and weapons. You can select between classes for each hunter that change their abilities, from tank to support or tactician.

13:56Greg Miller:During a hunt, you can tinker with a roguelike build system every machine encounter you beat 50 powerful say more okay the three choices various upgrades to your stats in each run you'll have to try and find the best possible combination of power-ups to take on the biggest machine

14:19Greg Miller:you'll be able to explore four large and very different environments at launch Each with its own look, its own atmosphere And its own challenges for your squad to master At the center of it all Is the Hunter's Gathering This is where you upgrade your gear Tweak your loadout and team up for the next hunt It is also just a fun place For example, you can hang out In your own customizable campsite And then head back into the wells Let's get out there

14:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:If he was part Monster Hunter and part Elden Ring Night Ring to me Oh, interesting

14:51Greg Miller:Like the roguelite structure challenge and mastery and the missions that you go on lean right into that during our first play test you'll get to try two very different i gotta imagine i hope so it better be i'm tired of games

15:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:like this getting shown and people not being able to get their hands on it he's telling us exactly

15:10Greg Miller:what's in it it's gotta be next weekend with your squad you plan and coordinate which randomized power-ups to collect dude this is eldering night rain before facing a relentless boss machine this This is Elden Ring Night Rain. Time is limited with a violent storm closing in that cuts down your options to get stronger. This is exactly Elden Ring Night Rain. ...caldron descent. In this multi-stage dungeon, the hunters take the fight to the enemy. You decide which path to take from brutal machine encounters to really challenging obstacles. They all require teamwork. Every chamber shapes your run and gives you power-ups to descend deeper and claim the rewards.

15:51Greg Miller:These modes are the foundation of Hunter Scattering. Tough, replayable, and built for squads who want to master them. We'll continue to evolve them with your feedback throughout our playtests.

16:13Greg Miller:Story. There he is now. You'll be able to play the story campaign solo with NPCs or together in co-op.

16:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Okay.

16:18Greg Miller:But that won't be part of the play test. We want you to experience the story fresh when the game is ready. What we can say is that it's fully canon within the Horizon universe. It introduces new characters, new threats, and new mysteries. Why is it canon in the Horizon universe? What are we doing? It has to. It doesn't look like... When you meet Aloy, is it going to be...

16:40Andy Cortez:She's just going to say hey. And that's why they're giving you him instead of Aloy. They're like, we can do more with Aaron.

16:54Greg Miller:We hope you've enjoyed your first look at Horizon Hunters Gathering. We're beginning a journey and we're inviting all of you. Though it's still early days, you can expect more regular development updates and playtest announcements from us in the coming months. To stay in the loop on all of the latest news about the game, we've launched a brand new Horizon Hunters Gathering Discord and social channels. We'd love to see it in. from all of us. What all you do to TikTok? Gather with the community. Thank you for joining us today. Hang on the comment section. It's about taking on challenges together.

17:24Greg Miller:We appreciate your help and we're just getting started. What's the play test?

17:33Andy Cortez:Come on. You can't end it. We're going to go back to more talking, right? Wishlist now, sure, of course. Oh, Steam too. Are you fucking kidding me? You can't do that. Are you fucking kidding me? You absolutely cannot do that. Back to the studio director. Are you fucking kidding me? You cannot do that. Hold on. I'm going to PlayStation. There better be a fucking order. Yeah. You know how PlayStation is. They better fucking say something in the fucking thing. We're not going to announce it. We have a document. Doesn't the document. Roger built the fucking document. Doesn't the document.

18:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hold on. If I control F release or no early access. Play test.

18:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Both modes will be available in our upcoming closed play test.

18:15Andy Cortez:the first small scale closed play test arrives at the end of february okay there we go sign up via the playstation beta program and mark their interest in any future horizon hunter gathering play test on pc or playstation 5 there we go we are reading from the playstation email so

18:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:first blush thoughts what do you think of horizon hunters gathering i mean let's go

18:34Andy Cortez:that looks cool really as a monster hunter guy like i like that kind of stuff and you're like it's elden ring at night random i never played that because i just don't like the elden ring world sure sure sure i like i do like the horizon world and so having that and having three friends to run around with and horse around in the playstation community and yada yeah i could see my getting into that i hope it works the roguelite nature while uh that's like the more used to it yeah that's my i'm not in terms of like this kind of game like i i'm solo games and i get the three choices uh a run with your group and like okay mike what are you picking all right i'll pick this to augment that so we can come together and do this big thing to take on whoever

19:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the boss is for this mission that sounds cool i think you're gonna fucking love this like elden ring night rain of course you're not into like the elden ring world so i totally understand that i think there's something about the gameplay loop where it is all right we're hopped we've hopped into this map all right let's collect the items as we're trying to upgrade our characters and it's nice to have somebody who's the point whether it be andy or mike not me i'm not opening up the map i'm just there for the ride and so like you know jumping over here all right let's take out the enemies in this place let's collect the things i move on to the next thing and then end up at that boss fight toward the end of that round or whatever yeah very fun gameplay loop that i was actually surprised by the more i played night rain and how they did it i'm excited to see that gorilla had a very similar idea here obviously there's differences it's not 100 percent by any means but there's enough of it there that i think can translate to a game that is more approachable because elden ring just not approachable for the average like if you're somebody who's more laid back or doesn't want that like tough punishing action that you get in it from software game sure i think having that same gameplay loop and something that more people can mess with something that more people can can approach could work out really well i'm super into this this is a game that i think speaks to me for the things that i say that regard night rain but then also i'll be honest i really like the art style i really like how it presents i think everything here uh uh feels thoughtful in a way where i'm like damn i like the bright vividness of this world i my one thing with it and this isn't a complaint from my end it's more so just of an observation slash question which is why is this horizon i think you could have made this a new ip i understand that everything is ip based nowadays we got to connect it to something and make it part of the canon that way it has some sort of base in sales or whatever i feel like my opinion that kind of speaks to a lack of the belief in the idea of this game because i i think this could stand on its own two legs and this being horizon does i don't think does much for the audience of people who like her back to the thing like it looks like dauntless right which

21:02Andy Cortez:is closed up now isn't sure yeah so it's like it's i mean we've seen a new ip come out and do that and not resonate right i think for playstation in these challenging economic headwinds they are committed to using their ip but using them in different spaces again i was very much expecting a multiplayer horizon game that just looked like horizon and that didn't excite me the characters here the art here the animations of the big roaring monsters like like oh fuck no i could see having a lot of fun with this and actually getting out there and running short missions and

21:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:doing the thing and run it back yeah yeah we're gonna read some of the more of this email go for our email uh this comes directly from our emails gorilla today announced a new chapter in the horizon universe horizon hunters gathering in development for both ps5 and pc with cross play and cross regression support which is pretty cool i love that oh yeah horizon hunters gathering is a co-op action game that lets three players team up as heroic hunters to protect a world under threat from deadly machines combat is tactical reactive and deeply skill-based building on the tactical precision of the horizon games while embracing the dynamics of team play the foundations of horizon hunters gathering centers on challenging replayable hunts so far two game modes have been revealed machine incursion which is a high intensity mission in which waves of machines pour out from underground gateways led by a formidable boss and then cauldron descent a longer multi-stage trial wherever ever-changing rooms push hunters to their limits from brutal machine encounters to hidden doors that promise power and rewards for teams prepared to open them.

22:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Both modes will be available in our upcoming closed playtests through the PlayStation beta program on PS5 and PC. They go on to talk about the roster of uniquely skilled hunters, each with distinct melee and ranged playstyles and weapons, and select hunter roles further embedded with a roguelite perk system to craft the build that best suits your style and your team. I'm going to pause there because I feel like the more I read of this, more we've already covered here. I'm very curious on this. I'm going to jump into Super Chats because, of course, we've got people writing in because they got thoughts.

23:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, Bander SN firstly writes in and says, is this game blessed or unimpressed? So far, blessed. Yeah. So far, I'm more positive on this thing that I thought I'd be coming into this. Jeff Bolt Jr. says, can't wait to not remember how to say this name forever. It looks interesting, though. yeah now that you've seen more of the game do you still feel the same way about the title

23:20Andy Cortez:yes dumb title yeah i understand what you're driving at it's a horizon multiplayer and you're gathering as hunters but like come on yeah that's not an exciting title especially for like cool as the art style is and more than even the art style the style even when they were going through like story character whatever they wrote and it had the same fonts it kind of looked like infamous first light like oh i like the vibe you're giving in a horizon hunters gathering doesn't does not

23:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that doesn't strike i want a cooler name you know like i feel like steel steel frontier stole the

23:51Andy Cortez:cool one let's let's let's we're the tree i want something i mean we gotta say they want this game

23:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:they want to keep hunters they want to keep multiplayer it feels extreme to me i almost

23:59Andy Cortez:want like an x in there yeah yeah yeah yeah i mean i'm horizon x horizon hunters party you know i mean like a party up like i don't know uh i mean horizon hunters is not is not bad yeah it

24:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It feels a little bit generic, but it's not.

24:16Andy Cortez:Even, yeah, Banner Essence is Horizon Machine Breakers. I think that's a better time too.

24:20Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Breakers. That's the word right there.

24:22Andy Cortez:Yeah, yeah.

24:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Horizon Breakers.

24:25Andy Cortez:The Steel Hunt.

24:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Horizon X Defiant. I'm bringing in one more Super Chat from Ty Wilkins VO. They say, long time Monster Hunter fan since the original. Was excited for the game being a Horizon fan, but from the trailer, they didn't make a Monster Hunter game. I'm interested, but I don't think I'll pick it up. hope a test will change my mind yeah for you as somebody who's a super into monster hunter and i think we've all been like oh yeah horizon would lend itself well to a monster hunter style game

24:51Andy Cortez:yeah does this speak to that in you at all speaks to it in i think a more casual less invested way i'm taking a lot of liberties from what we just saw right but that roguelike nature switching out your builds all that jazz like i see the xp bar that they were filling in and stuff but i don't know are we grinding monsters to build the better armor so i can go and take on the you know all the monster hunter shit this looks like it's jump in with your friends choose the thing you're doing this thing you got a great build this time and then you go back and you use that xp to augment whatever you're doing i don't it doesn't strike me as much as i'm going to be playing that for six hours straight on a stream as much as it's going to be like oh man before bed yeah i'm going hit up richie and we're going to go run two of these and i'm going to clock out in 30 minutes and done with it.

25:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Another one from El Capitan 2293 says, the game's not for me, but I believe the gotcha gamers will eat it up. Not everything has to be for me, just for enough people. How do you feel as far as the potential of this game to end up being a success? I think there was a lot of trepidation when we walked in this morning and people out there were talking about Horizon multiplayer and I see people in chat that were like, I don't know. Do you think that this has the potential to hit for people?

26:03Andy Cortez:I do. I do. I think everything I saw there looked fun. I won't know what to wear on sticks, obviously, but that looked like a lot of fun. And again, I don't know if it requires the investment so many multiplayer games do in terms of like, okay, cool, like you got to get good at this. It's going to take a while, yada, yada, yada. That more cartoony art style and what looked to be action gameplay, I think lends itself to, you're going to feel empowered right away. And yes, you'll have to come up with strategies for the bigger, crazier bosses or whatever. But even that, it doesn't, that's like when they showed the dungeons in the trailer and they were talking about like, this is where you're going to rerun it with your team.

26:36Andy Cortez:I mean, yeah, that's when the sicko psychos get into it, where everybody else could just go in and have a colorful good time with it.

26:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Let's talk about monetization. Sure. You know, El Capitan here mentions gotcha. I don't think they even talked about any sort of gotcha mechanics in this thing at all, which makes me wonder, what are we talking about as far as, is this going to be a$40 game,$50 game, free to play with cosmetics? Like, where do we stand on this?

26:57Andy Cortez:That is a great question that I was wondering about, too, is, yeah, what are you going to do in terms of a price point on this, and where would you put it, and what would you do? I mean I'm so outside of my wheelhouse on because you wouldn't want to charge for heroes right that doesn't strike me as what you'd want to do with this I know it can happen and people do it I think you do put a price tag on this I think you do sell it and I would think it's that$40 entry point they've been putting a lot of stuff at I think that's where you the sweet spot kind of would be on this of like here's a fun sink your teeth into it multiplayer experience a whole bunch of different people were not you know pay to winning on that there isn't a battle pass there is going to be i'm sure cosmetics to get and you know pre-order bonuses but i don't sure it doesn't strike me as one you go okay no i need

27:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:to make all that money up front i think i think 40 for this yeah i think you follow the strat that you've had so far even though it failed miserably with concord marathon still is going for that 40 price tag i think with this as playstation i don't i don't think you want to devalue your ip and your characters by making it a thing of hey this game is free to play but you can pay 20 for aloy playable and you know i'll buy this character that you like for 15 or whatever like they're on the battle pass i think that leaves a bad taste in people's mouths of course they're going to go after what makes it the most money however i do think that they could get away with this for 40 because like if we remove ourselves from the internet conversations of horizon horizon zero dawn the franchise is very popular very high selling for playstation when does this show come

28:39Andy Cortez:out no i was just kidding they canceled that didn't that didn't go oh yeah the horizons he i mean i think it's back on the table isn't it i don't think so but you look at elden ring night

28:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:rain that came out forty dollars i see some of the parallels here between those two games and elden ring of course is an ip name right that is something that from software looks at and they're like elden ring sellable name horizon for playstation yeah sellable name i think you can

29:00Andy Cortez:get get the forty dollars in for that i agree and again i think if the game i think these play tests are smart because if you get in and the game is fun and it is left one of those man i wish we were still playing that when is that dropping when's the next play test when's the thing and we see these changes and you know additions and what the next world looks like and all that jazz i mean for a first blush you've never heard of this game before that was a really intense trailer of how much stuff's going on in the four different worlds and yada like they seem confident in this and from what i'm seeing i think they should be that that i'm not that well i guess i am that gamer but like it's hard for me to be like oh multiplayer game fuck yeah and like i look at that i'm like that looks like a lot of fun now does it look like six months of fun probably not but like i'm down for We'll see.

29:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:People in chat are also mentioning Horizon. It's a movie now. They're doing a movie. My apologies. How can I keep up? How can you forget? Greg? Yes. We're going to move on. 33:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:two the memory shortage has come for valve steam machine dun dun dun what a fucking i know we're

33:53Andy Cortez:but just what a timely thing where yesterday me and mike were out here talking about when next xbox yeah and i was like listen this is all part of the fucking thing and i feel bad microsoft and i literally said and also steam aren't we supposed to know the steam machine price i wonder if they're

34:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:dealing with this and here we are yep i'm reading from kyle bar at gizmodo that was now confirmed our worst fears all the steam hardware steam machine steam frame vr headset and steam controller it announced in november is delayed by a few months because of the creeping influence of the ongoing memory shortage in a post on the official steam hardware blog val said it needs to revisit pricing for all three devices scary especially the steam machine hybrid pc slash console and steam frame vr headset alas the limited availability and growing prices of these critical components namely ram and ssd storage have rapidly increased from only a few days ago the company still promises to ship in the first half of the year amd ceo lisa sue also confirmed the steam machine would arrive early this year.

34:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This news shouldn't come as a shock if you've been following the rapid price fluctuations and you person watching and listening to the kind of funny games daily have. Thank you. Of practically all PC components that use memory. Modern high-end DRAM, that's dynamic random access memory, now costs 500 % more than it did a few months ago. In some cases, SSDs, aka solid state drives, have seen prices increase regularly since the start of the year. The memory issue has also impacted the discrete GPU market, especially NVIDIA's latest 50 series graphic cards. Quote, our goal of shipping all three products in the first half of the year has not changed, the company wrote in the blog post.

35:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But we have work to do to land on concrete pricing and launch dates that we can confidently announce. Being mindful of how quickly the circumstances around both of those things can change, end quote. Valve has only hinted at a possible price, telling some outlets it would position the Steam Machine close to the entry-level PC space. That would have indicated a price of around$700 or even$800 at least. As for performance, Valve reiterated in its blog post that the Steam Machine should be able to handle the majority of Steam titles at 4K and 60fps while relying on AMD FSR upscaling technology. This wouldn't be fabled FSR Redstone, unfortunately, since the semi-custom AMD chip on the Steam machine is based on the RDNA 3.5 GPU microarchitecture rather than the more recent RDNA 4.

36:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Some games may run better if you push FSR to render games at a 1080p resolution before bringing it to 4K. As long as Valve can promise a minimum acceptable performance for most modern games, the Steam machine may still make more sense to prospective gaming PC buyers as a cheaper alternative to buying overinflated PC components. Knowing the skyrocketing price of RAM, the everyday console buyer may find Valve's six by six inch gaming machine is still out of reach. Oh man.

36:53Andy Cortez:What a nightmare. Yeah. And you can cut it from any way you want. And I know, oh, Greg's always feeling bad for corporations, but like Valve trying their best, trying to make a machine to answer what some people want get you a pc in your house make it easy yada yada yada take the lessons of the steam deck and put them into this thing all the best plans and intentions and then just fucking torpedoed by this ram bullshit and the ai goddamn wave that's ruining everybody's life and then of course us the consumer who are like all right cool this sounds exciting and from the announcement people being like this is gonna be too expensive to buy you know what i mean it's i know it's already out of my uh realm when i'm you know or i'm making the same amount of money but it's going even shorter distances now because of fucking inflation throughout the goddamn world and then just like man see man you talk about feeling bad for the corporations right for me

37:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:it's feeling bad for a hardware team that worked best intentions had the best intentions and were probably like yo steam machine the the steam frame the controller we got this lineup that's going to define the next generation of valve and everything is lining up man we're about to drop some fire in 2026 and then all of a sudden just everything that could go that could possibly go wrong for this thing yep goes wrong to where you talk about in a way of like you can't predict

38:13Andy Cortez:this yes you couldn't predict this part of it right it's like god damn yeah to the consumer

38:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:side you know this is something i think all of us from the announcement of this we're like oh shit this is exciting i'm in because we like we like valve hardware we like the steam machine or we like the the steam deck um and there's promise here as far as being able to take your pc experience

38:33Andy Cortez:and just have it in the living room at home and making that more uh uh with and putting that within reach of the common gamer yeah making it affordable to build a pc and doesn't want to build a or buy a six thousand dollar four thousand dollar custom-made rig or yes and i think that

38:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that gap between putting this out at 700 or 800 dollars is meaningful when we're talking about potentially getting upward to a thousand eleven hundred twelve hundred dollars like that is the

39:01Andy Cortez:difference between success and failure it's where you start making that argument right of if you are that common gamer right or common common person right i'm just like well come on now i already have a playstation or i was looking at a playstation and it's this it's five hundred dollars less than this thing and yeah it doesn't play all those games but it plays enough of them and it plays them in a really good frame rate i don't need to be worrying about the benefits of PC gaming of the steam sales or the, you know, how early stuff comes there and dah, dah, dah, dah. Like this is so scary when you think about yesterday's headline about Xbox and AMD and like, Oh, we'll have the chip ready to go in 2027.

39:34Andy Cortez:And then the rumor from last week of PlayStation six being punted backwards, right. Of like with all this shit happening, we're not even worrying about the PlayStation six. You really go like, cool. What is the chilling effect of all this? When will you actually see, I mean, fucking this week's report that the, you know, Nintendo president like when Nintendo's president saying hey we're not going to raise the price of the switch but we're not against it when they're talking about RAM and everything yeah it's just like you're we're in such a fucked up place right now for consoles and video games in general but is it going to be that everybody goes fuck stop we're stopping here for a while PlayStation 5 Xbox whatever the Xbox is switch to PC we're building these games we aren't at a point financially as a world where we're going to be able to go and go to that next level like we've done every other eight years so where do you if you're going to predict and we're going to take a stop here at speculation station when do you expect the steam machine and let's just say the steam hardware slate to thank you thank you thank you so much to when do you expect it to drop

40:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and what price point do you think the steam machine comes at it oh my god

40:47Andy Cortez:it's like do I want to like be conservative or do I want to be crazy you know I believe what they're saying here okay I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that they just don't do it that they just cancel it oh shit think about honestly I was thinking the same thing. Think about what we're dealing with. I know it's a crazy statement. I know it's a fucking crazy statement, but think about who we're dealing with. We're dealing with valve, which more money than God. They don't have to worry about shareholders. They're not like, it can literally be like, Hey, we're still updating prices.

41:23Andy Cortez:Keep increasing. We it's it's here's what it is right now to buy the Ram and do the thing. And yet he had a, what is it going to be in three months? We could be better. It could be worse. You know what I mean? Like, I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility to see Gabe and everybody, but Gabe be like, cool.

41:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're just not going to do this. Here's what I'll say. Cause I'm going to defend you from somebody in chat who says, I can't read the username, but they say, Greg always thinks stuff will be canceled. Yes. Greg has a good track record though. I feel like most of the time when Greg says this thing's going to be canceled, it ends up being canceled.

41:53Andy Cortez:And again, also could, could be canceled. I think we don't talk about that enough. And like, yeah, a lot of times the goods don't become goods or reality. But like, I think valve is in an interesting situation where like they really don't need to go they don't have to do this they don't have to do this and take a loss and then get fucking yelled at by everybody that's too expensive and because what are they gonna say yeah I know it's too expensive the world sucks what do you want me to do you know what I mean like this isn't something we wanted to do we're not trying to charge you that much this is where we're at for the reality of the situation so yeah do you want to pass that on to the consumer do you want to eat into your own

42:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:brand uh goodwill what do you want to be with that i'm gonna predict june okay it comes out i'm gonna say the steam machine and this is me trying to be hopeful i i think it comes out 900 but there's no controller pack in if you want to buy the controller you buy it separately for a hundred dollars yeah that way for the for those who want to buy them together you're paying a

42:51Andy Cortez:thousand dollars seeing back to the conversation of at what point for valve slash everybody does to just become untenable. You hit$1 ,000 and you're like, well, fuck, this is no longer what we're looking for, an affordable gateway to PC gaming on your TV. Because we all love PC gaming here. It's not hard to plug the PCs we have into CVs. It's just the thing of, for so many people, as it was for me before a couple different machines, there's too many hoops to jump through. They're trying to make a hoopless thing, but they're going to get there and be like, whatever. It's like I saw this, and again, I'm way out of school on all of this, right?

43:24But as you all know, not to brag,

43:26Andy Cortez:I am an executive member at Costco. And so I follow the Costco subreddits. And at some point somebody had put out the PC Costco was selling like a grand or 1100 bucks. And somebody's like, is this good? And people were like, listen, if you were to buy that memory card, it's like at that price alone. So yes, it is like, that's the kind of like math people are doing to math this out. And so again, back to it, a valve being like, yeah, it's$1 ,100 now. All right, well, what's an$1 ,100 tower look like right now? And is it better than the steam machine? which i would argue it is and yeah like what is your messaging and how are you doing it i think

43:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:what you need to do is put out a piece of pc hardware that is just going to come under what any other pc hardware is going to be right like you need to be the thing that is to your point attainable for people and you need to be the thing that is like all right i want to play on pc i'm a kid that grew up watching streamers or i'm a kid that wants to get into video games i think pc gaming is becoming more and more of a thing for a wider variety of people and that's what chat was saying yesterday yeah like all the kids want pcs now yes exactly right because that's what they're seeing that's what the uh when you were like watching your streamers on youtube or twitch or whatever they are playing on pc and that shit's getting passed down as far as wanting to get into pc gaming what is the bare minimum that you can buy and get into and they just had to be that like yeah they just had i think and i think good enough i think all that needs to be is three figures once you get to that fourth figure once you get to that thousand dollar mark yeah parents be like no i'm not buying my 15 year old a thousand dollar thing yeah i know 900 also crazy but i think

44:57Andy Cortez:that that digit makes a lot of difference but then you just get to that point right where and i'm i we have to bring it all up but yeah you're a kid and you go and you want the 900 pc but they're like but a playstation 5 is this much tommy true and i mean less than that by a lot yeah no xbox not as like how long is the playstation 5 and an xbox gonna cost that much i mean well that's the other thing you jump to right yeah you snatch those up now before they go up like we're talking about with switch and everything else and where that's going but then you then you turn your eyes and you want to talk about fucked look at xbox oh yeah i want to talk about fucked f-u-c-k capital like we're sarah bond last year before this stuff started we're making a premium next generation console that's going to be this dual boot thing and now you're here and they have to be head in hands like how does this keep getting worse for us xbox how can we even when it's not armistice steak things are just fucking nightmare fuel for us of how we're going to do this yeah because if they're steam is trying to make the affordable put it underneath your tv pc for sarah bond to be like it's going to be premium i mean is this still are they still having that conversation

46:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:at what point if they if is this not the death of xbox hardware yeah them making their own heart like could very well be because at this point i'm just i'm just going just play our shit on pc bro

46:15Andy Cortez:again we talk about Microsoft in the pinch coming down from Xbox but again yeah as they start running numbers on RAM and again not even the current numbers on RAM the projections on what might happen yes none of these games none of these companies want to be in speculation station no no one wants to be there if you're that kind of so it's like yeah fucking pull the plug on this you got out your handheld congratulations everything's an Xbox congratulations let's just publish games like what are we doing why are we doing this story number three no

46:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Number three. Let's bring the spirits up, hopefully, with a Fallout Season 2 review. Of course, Greg's watched it. Hi. I've watched it. But there was one man who stayed up all night to re-watch it. He had already watched it. He tried to blame me, make me feel bad on Gamescast. I know he already watched it. He stayed up all night to watch Fallout Season 2.

47:05Tim Gettys:I was just looking forward to spending time with you. You know that. I want to talk about this show with you two. Now, here's the thing. Let's talk about it.

47:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Because this was originally going to be a Gamescast. because of how crazy they got with the news, with the direct and everything. We had to make some changes. Some would say it's a great day. I mean, a fantastic day. That's a great day. I heard we're ordering Totos. Is there Totos there yet? Oh, there's pizza. Let's go. Good night. We all walk off. Because we're in the middle of KFGD, unfortunately, no spoilers. Yeah. So we're going to do our best to talk around this. What I'm saying is we do our review right here,

47:34Andy Cortez:and I haven't done a Gregway yet. We could all do a Gregway spoiler cast. I'm down. We'd like to talk about some spoilers.

47:39Tim Gettys:Yeah. Oh, I too would like to.

47:40Andy Cortez:So the top level here, top level.

47:42Tim Gettys:Season two is in the books, Mike. Top level. Snow Mike Mike's review of season two of Fallout. Good, not great. Lucy's adventure into the, you know, Nevada desert into Fallout New Vegas, one of our favorite spots out there, was good but not fantastic. And unfortunately, after season one, I was really hoping for fantastic. I think they really delivered in season one, and they had a really good promise for the fans or excitement for the fans to go to New Vegas and explore that region and that area, right? And it's something you have to remember as fans, they're not retelling the games, right? They're telling their own story in the universe there, different timelines and such.

48:22Tim Gettys:But it was fun to go back to a fan-favorite spot. And I think, unfortunately, this time around, we added maybe too many ingredients to the pot that was simmering and looking to boil there that just didn't deliver, right? It's just too many characters, too many places to jump back and forth. And I think we lost the core of Lucy out in the wasteland aside with the ghoul. And of course, Maximus Maximus and that kind of adventure. Right. And I know we've had a grander adventure that is fallout, new characters and stuff, but we really went back to a couple of scenes in the vault that I just did

48:57Andy Cortez:not really need or love. I mean, in general, going back to the vault, I love the vault. The vaults are cool. Every time we went to the vault, I'm like, I don't want, okay.

49:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. Like for me, what I was thinking about as we were watching as I was watching this season was fallout the video games yeah it's not often you come back to the vault that you started off in sure when you go out into the open world the vault's done the vault was only for that beginning of the game and then you went to other vaults for a hot second and then you come out right but I don't I think too much vault is not a good thing I think vaults are better experienced when it is like a hint of something is oh this experiment's going on that's weird oh let's go back and see what's going on here okay that's weird but i don't i don't want to spend too much time in the vault in the video games or in the tv show sure that's fair i like that they explored

49:43Tim Gettys:vault life in the first season right and i think we got to season two where it's like oh vault life has changed right we now have dramatic differences of lucy's out the brother is in a different vault now the one-eyed lady madeline what's her name do we remember was it sarah maybe she's running another vault there's three vaults at play and it's like okay we're exploring something new but none of it really hit right the biggest the biggest problems with Steph and the last vault was you're not sharing our water or we're having the couples that are technically you know related that's some of our biggest issues right yeah like I didn't love that for me so overall with this

50:24Andy Cortez:season I'm right there good not great I think it's the that really interesting argument of like is it about the destination or the journey? I liked week to week checking in on everybody and seeing what they were doing. And I'm like, oh, man, Thaddeus, come on. I'm enjoying being around these characters and seeing what they're up to. But I think it really hurt not having a, this is what we're trying to do. And not only this is what we're trying to do, to have so many characters that then had their own, what are you trying to do? Like, where are we going? You know what I mean? I think the brothers' storyline this entire season is pretty much a waste.

50:58Andy Cortez:Yeah. Like, what were we doing? What did we accomplish? Where did we take him and end up? And it's like, I thought there was, oh, you're going to do something here. That'd be really cool. Oh, this is going to connect to that? Really cool. None of that happens. So it's like, okay, cool. But then you're left with like Walton Goggins and stuff. Like fucking Walton Goggins is awesome. The ghoul is awesome, right? But it's like, even there, I'm like, what was the payoff to all this? Lucy, like who was the villain of this season? Even New Vegas as a place, like to get to New Vegas and find it in the way we find New Vegas was like an interesting like, oh.

51:28Andy Cortez:felt kind of underserved on new vegas i felt like we could have got more right they gave us the hint

51:33Tim Gettys:of like here's the dino statue that you all love and you're like all right cool like that's a good first start hey here's a great scene of new vegas a great skyline look of it but when we got to new vegas it didn't it felt very much of like uh you're just here it just set dressing it didn't feel like we're like new vegas and there's some special stuff about it yeah i agree both you guys i'm on that

51:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:good not great uh place with it for the reasons that you guys mentioned i think this season felt almost like more of an intermission season than like hey we're driving towards something big here they're juggling like a lot of things here and i think that's what makes it feel a little bit diluted and lost when you're going between these all these different things that are happening that don't feel like to have the strongest end point and even as we drove toward the end of the season i feel more excited for next season as far as what we're doing plot wise and content wise than i am for the season that i'm in currently and i wish that wasn't the case because we're in new vegas We're in the place for things to happen.

52:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You know what I mean? I want things to happen here. I'm excited for wherever we're going. But yeah, I feel like as far as the setting of New Vegas, I wanted more out of it. But I'm still into the show. A little more Caesar's Legion.

52:36Andy Cortez:A little more NCR. Again, where it's like all these things are awesome from the game. All these things get, I think, pretty great introductions. And then are so quiet for so long. And then have, ah, here it is. You're like, we should have picked one of these things to be the bad guy, to be the thing. and we're with you for the majority of the season or one half of the season.

52:55Tim Gettys:To keep it short, because I know we have a lot more news, a couple of things that I want to highlight. Death Claws, I think they made Death Claws look really good in this. I think the Death Claws sequences were a lot of fun. I thought they were fantastic. There are some teases of more. I know we're not getting into spoilers, but it was like episode six or whatever, maybe four or five. But we did explore other vaults. We do know there's something else out there. If you played the games, you know exactly what I'm talking about. That was a fun tease. and like, hey, what's next? After the deathclaw, how do you continue to push it forward?

53:25Tim Gettys:That's a great tease of that, right? I really enjoyed that one as well. I think going back in time and talking about the ghoul and his wife and what they were doing in New Vegas with Mr. House and like how that all played out at some moments had me, at some moments kind of lost me. And I was like, I don't really want to be here anymore. Get back over there.

53:44Andy Cortez:I felt the flashbacks just could not stand up to what they did in season one. season one going back and seeing cooper and his wife is like oh wow this is great and coming back

53:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:here spending so much time and getting the ah oh yeah i i wish the deathclaws hit more for me i i think i came around on it as we got to the finale and what they did with them but i i think earlier on i was like man i feel like the deathclaws are kind of getting worked here i feel like the deathclaws are kind of you know not they're not as terrifying as i as i felt like they were in the game oh fuck yeah even if i see one deathclaw and i'm like shit i gotta deal with the death claw but i i feel like they didn't hold that same weight here in the tv show and that was

54:20Tim Gettys:we looked at season three i go into it not extremely hype like i was after season one i'm now like okay all right like show me what you got right like we clearly know the stakes we know what each player is kind of going for we know the new stuff that's added it's like okay like let's talk about it in the spoiler section but i'm not leaving this going man season three can't come

54:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:soon enough i'm fair with i feel that all right mike thank you so much for joining us pick up your

54:46Andy Cortez:Kind of Funny membership today. YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny. Games. Patreon.com slash Kind of Funny. Apple, Spotify to hear our Gregway that we'll go record about the spoiler cast for Fallout Season 2.

54:55Tim Gettys:Fun one for you out there if you like cool logos and stuff. Take a look at FBC Firebreak compared to that brand new. Oh, yeah. The Horizon. Horizon. Hunter's Gathering. It's kind of similar. You're right.

55:07Andy Cortez:Luckily, nobody remembers FBC Firebreak.

55:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Let's move on to story number four, the PS5 version of Starfield.

55:14Andy Cortez:I'll stop you right there over in the chat. Chirotera says yay paywall would you prefer it didn't fucking happen because that was your other option would you prefer it didn't fucking happen because that was your other option that was a father reaction right there from Greg

55:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you're going to work on the coal mine go the PS5 version of Starfield could be announced soon as Insider shares potential release date this is from Chris Golian at Video Games Chronicle for story number 4 Polish site pp.pl cites its Insider Groksdari The guy who just got yelled at by Take-Two yesterday, who was like, no, we're making a physical edition. Who it says handles physical games sales in Europe and previously correctly leaked information on the release date of Oblivion, remastered physical copies, the Switch 2 port of Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, and the PS5 port of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

56:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This guy's a menace. According to the source, Starfield is seemingly coming to PS5 on April 7th in both standard and premium editions. It's been reported for some time that Bethesda is planning a PS5 version of its sci-fi RPG, with reports last year suggesting that a spring 2026 release date was being targeted. That report claimed that the game wasn't coming to PS5 in 2025 because of weak sales of the game's first expansion, Shattered Space. Instead, it was claimed that the PS5 version is being timed to launch alongside the game's second expansion, which will bring with it other quality-of-life improvements.

56:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The PS5 port of Starfield has been anticipated ever since Microsoft shared its vision of the future of Xbox back in February 2024, which included plans to bring a wave of games to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles. The first titles to make the jump to the new console platforms were Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded. Greg, you excited for Starfield on the PlayStation 5?

56:59Andy Cortez:No, but it's because I've put so much time into Starfield on Xbox slash Play Anywhere PC. You're not going to replay it?

57:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:no because i mean come on big fan over here big fan okay first of all fuck you come on all right i thought you're the starfield i thought you're the biggest starfield i am and i'm excited for

57:13Andy Cortez:whatever the big update would be let me clear my throat sorry of whatever they're talking you know this thing and again we're allowed to say that i've been behind closed doors and i've seen what they're planning for starfield that's what i'm allowed to say okay um and so i'm excited to get my hands on that i'm excited for whatever an update would be that would come alongside the complete version on playstation 5 that would all be excited for me but i want to run that with my character again i stand by it in my you know well 20 years of covering games 19 years of covering games playing games way longer than that right that i think starfield has the best setup for a new game plus ever so like would i ever restart fuck no will i go through the unity again and go that way and do another new game plus run yeah of course and like whatever their update will be what it would do and what it could actually flesh out story-wise i'd be stoked for but I've been letting a lot of creation stuff content come and come and like build up.

58:04Andy Cortez:So it's going to be that when I do come back for my next binge of Starfield, whether it be for the dropper before that, I'm going to have a whole bunch of cool quests from the creation community ready to go.

58:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:April 7th. Do we get that announced at a state of play? That's the rumored next week, next two weeks.

58:20Andy Cortez:Huh? I feel like that's the place. It's either that or what you shadow drop it. No, if I mean, Bethesda in Xbox known for doing their own specific directs presentations or whatever. Yeah, this it this could all if I were them, what I think what it would be for me is, hey, on the Starfield socials, Bethesda socials, you do the tease of like tomorrow. We're going to have a presentation at 10 a.m. or whatever. And then you show up and it's that either the really nice produced ones we've seen of like the beautiful, you know, nice shots of inside Bethesda game studios and the heads talking heads talking about it or what they've done a lot with Fallout 76 is, hey, we're streaming.

58:59Andy Cortez:We're talking straight to the camera. We're telling you what's going on. I think that's the kind of way you talk about this because you excite. Number one, the Starfield sickos like me with, hey, new content. Here's what it is. Here's what it looks like. Here's the expansion or whatever. And then new people that's circulates on its own. probably that that would time out with a playstation blog post and this then the other blah blah blah i'm more interested of course like we've gone through the looking glass on this so much of like my love for starfield being met then with so much joking uh starfield's garbage and kind of funny i don't even know are people excited for starfield to come to ps5 in real life i don't know i i'm

59:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:honestly kind of surprised it's being ported and i don't know maybe i'm just not uh taking into account the amount of players i remember starfield at that first week of launch they hit 10 million as far as like people jumping into the game, which is a gigantic number, right? So obviously there's something there business-wise as far as why they would port it over. But I view Starfield so much as just not a game that people like like that. And so I'm like, part of me is like, why even do it? But I mean, it's a big Bethesda game.

1:00:00Andy Cortez:So the chat is popping off with most people saying, no, they don't. There's one person, my boy, not even a subscriber. Rummo Tanoolo is saying it. So I don't, it's, I don't know. and I think it's hard in our spheres when you talk about this and what it is.

1:00:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Even during the Direct when we're like, all right, Starfield coming to Switch too, in my mind, I'm kind of like... That's also a weak way to end this Direct. Yeah, I'm like you would close a Nintendo Direct with Starfield? I don't know. Could we close a Nintendo Direct with the Anthem? Totally agree with you on that, right? Although that's harsh.

1:00:31Andy Cortez:But I mean, to your point of like, surprising, I still think it's the idea of like, the people who, and I'm talking out of school, and I can't represent all of you, but I think many people who aren't excited have either played it or knew it wasn't for them or whatever. Whereas I think PlayStation has shown time and time again, there are so many people there that aren't playing every Xbox game. That's why these Xbox games keep coming out and keep going to the top of the circana numbers over there. Do I think star feels going to have the same thing? No, but I also depending, I mean, April, what's it up against?

1:01:02Andy Cortez:You know what I mean? In terms of what it would come out and be up against on PlayStation. Cause it's not a bad game. It's just not a great game. It's not as Mike always said, it needed to be for Xbox, a generational game, which I agree down the line on you know what I mean yeah but it is a hey here's a cool RPG with some nice mechanics and things and thoughts do you want to go fucking build your little goddamn thing no you didn't know man sky well they did it better than us too but it was cool how much do we how much do you think it hits in sales by the end of the year if it comes to play number wise number wise yeah fucking I can never do this game I don't even know what a good bad number is anymore I think I think it's more fun to play the April game of like okay so when we get the Cercana results from Matt Piscitella where would it rank oh I mean what's else is coming out in

1:01:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:april in april you have saros but that's at the very end of april so that's only going to be like day one sales um really i mean pragmata i think you know what that's a good question april what has higher sales pragmata or a starfield ps5 release pragmata yeah pragmata i think but i don't think starfield's out of the question though sure it's a weird pragmata's on everything right yeah yeah it's even on switch and so that's actually a good point but yeah not not much else coming out in april i mean there's tomodachi life living the dream tomodachi tomodachi there's i am cheese they'll get you if you say it wrong i feel like i said it fine tomodachi you're putting an a in there what where is tomodachi saying tomodachi yeah like tom and jerry tomodachi tomo tomo i'm trying to help i'm not trying to be an asshole i i did it so wrong that everybody's beating to death about it.

1:02:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Tomo. Tomodachi. Tomodachi. Cairn. Cairn. Cairn. Tiny Bookshop comes out. Yeah, I'm very curious to see how it does on PlayStation. Me too. I think it will do well. I think it will chart well on Serkana because of it. Story number five. Sony says Ghost of Yotei sales are outperforming Tsushima. This is Andy Robinson at VGC. Speaking during an earnings call transcribed by VGC, the platform holder stated that yote exceeded the sales of previous of the previous title in the same period of time and significantly contributed to its latest results sony did not share a specific update sales figure for the sucker punch title in its previous financial results it said ghost of yote had surpassed 3.3 million units sold as of november 2nd a month after its initial release this is likely put this likely put it roughly in line with tsushima which sold 2.4 million units in its first three days uh i'll pause there cool very cool yeah of course yeah i mean i think unsurprising

1:03:35Andy Cortez:right i mean depends who you talk to on the internet a lot of people were telling me because there was a woman in the lead role that this thing wouldn't sound i forgot about that woke shit a lot of people telling me that the circana numbers are all fabricated uh yeah it's the usual one of like it is the story with yote of yote yeah great great game yeah sold it's better than sushi like the whole story of ghost of yote is yeah it's a better game to a great game that we all thought would be that but that means we don't talk about yote in the same way we talked about

1:04:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:there's a category of game that'll put in like boring success you know what i mean yeah ghost of yote came out it was more of ghost of tsushima and guess what people like ghost of tsushima so they're gonna like ghost of yote and buy ghost of yote and a little bit more people will play it and buy it. And so.

1:04:21Andy Cortez:Good for them.

1:04:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Good for them. Go get them, sucker poach. This probably means we're going to get a third ghost game. You hope so.

1:04:27Andy Cortez:You imagine so? You know what? Actually, I don't know if I do hope so. First off, you're going to get Legends 2. That's great. Very excited. Talk about that this year already. And then, yeah, no, I'd be, I would want to see sucker poach to go do something else. I agree. I don't think we need to be stuck in Japan

1:04:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:for the rest of our life. It's not that I don't, everyone's in return, obviously, to you. But like, I want these big studios. I like when studios are two game studios or three game studios even. put into the basket of things Insomniac does great is that they have so many different games that they come back to, right? Whether it be Ratchet or Spider-Man. I guess I say so many different games. Oh, Wolverine. I think I was also thinking Sunset Overdrive, even though they've not made that in a decade and a half.

1:05:05Andy Cortez:Here's my thing, because I honestly do think if the next one is a new IP or a new whatever, I don't think they come back to Ghost. Really? Yeah. I think you either go third, Ghost now, or you move on to something else, and I don't think that's right. I hate development times being so long because that's the reason why it'd be is because it'd take five years to get under that next game and it's like all right cool nobody who worked on

1:05:26Blessing Adeoye Jr.:ghost of you tastes here anymore like bring me back to the time where it's like all right we're gonna make the same we're the samurai game studio and our space rpg and we can go back and forth and it's like damn these are two wild games but you do it you're doing it here's last of us and uncharted and we were gonna make four of these things in the span of five years somehow because we're naughty dog bring back those days if we can get back to those days greg that'd be big yeah be huge huge but if i want something smaller say the tiniest pieces of news i need to know about

1:05:54Andy Cortez:where'd i go you go to our last story the we news channel where we run you through all the

1:05:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:tiny news items you need to know about story number six is we news starting from john hicks at games industry.biz tencent owned co-development studio sumo digital has announced a redundancy process with an unspecified numbers of staff at risk employees were told this morning hate to see it hate to see it from chris colian at vgc japanese rhythm game felicity's door has arrived on apple arcade very fun quick con 2026 uh the 30th anniversary has been announced for august 6th through 9th this is via steven totillo nintendo has confirmed metroid prime 4 has surpassed 1 million copies sold and then finally a trailer has been released for the movie adaptation of the video game Exit 8.

1:06:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, Neon. We like Neon. Exit 8 video game. I don't even remember this game. Yeah, I don't know what Exit 8 is.

1:06:50Andy Cortez:This is a Korean movie? Exit 8, you are trapped in an endless underground passageway. Observe your surroundings carefully to reach the Exit 8. Wow, it looks exactly like this. Really? Look at the fucking trailer. Oh, yeah. I'm sure everybody who's watching is like, yeah, this is just what the subways look like.

1:07:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You said it was Korean? Korea. Oh, no, I'm just taking a guess. I'm not positive. I mean, I think I assume that because of Neon because they just did the other movie. I like actually was that even Neon? Don't mind me. I'm just saying words. And that is it for We News. Okay. No, this is Japan. This looks cool. This is Japan. People in chat are saying. Okay.

1:07:25Andy Cortez:Let's hop in. Oh, you can play that game in 15 to 16 minutes. It says according to this to Steam. You gonna play it? I might just wait for the movie.

1:07:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Fair enough. Zeke speak writes in and says, this breaks my heart. was so excited for the steam machine but it's going to be it's only four dollars the steam machines for all the game excited i was excited uh but it's going to be 1k plus slash they say 100 i assume you mean for the controller um if they bundle it with a frame plus controller for 1200 maybe i mean that makes sense yeah that breaks my heart too it's five dollars on nintendo

1:08:00Andy Cortez:switch 2 oh i get on nintendo switch 2 since i'm on nintendo damn and the dude in the white shirt is right there too this is a very faithful adaptation of this video game i've never heard of

1:08:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:mob axie says this looks interesting but based in horizon is weird i do wish that horizon mobile game was coming to consoles i like the way that looks way more okay the nc soft one yeah yeah i mean here's my thing wait what's your thing i'm kind of looking forward to all these things i i the horizon is such an interesting ip because apparently it's the only playstation ip that they know how to do, they want to do other things with. Listen, man,

1:08:39Andy Cortez:we tried the Last of Us multiplayer game, couldn't get it to work.

1:08:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We got Last of Us show, that's good. If we were to break it down, we got the two mainline Horizon games. We got big DLCs for both. We got a Horizon VR game that's a climbing game, which is interesting. Okay, cool. We got a Horizon Lego game that came out on Switch. Yeah. All right. We got a Horizon NCSoft game that doesn't even look like Horizon anymore. Yeah. All right. True. We have a highly stylized co-op Horizon roguelite game being made by Gorilla. All right. We had a Horizon TV show. All right. I got it canceled because we're going to now make a movie. Okay. What are we doing? You have other IP.

1:09:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Make, I don't know, another Ghost of Tsushima thing. I know we just got the sequel, but like, spin off it. There you go. I got an X-A-V. I hear you.

1:09:31Andy Cortez:I understand. but remember like this is like the craziest thing to think about on all of this is you can rewind the footage and go back to podcast beyond at IGN. When me and Colin, I think Ryan was already gone at this point, but literally read a new story that was like, yeah, this marketing person from PlayStation says horizon is going to be there. Multi media generational. And we were like, what the fuck? This game's not even out yet. Is it going to be good? And here we are surrounded by horizon shit that so many people would tell

1:10:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you they don't know and don't care about you would think that playstation is like starved for ip though yeah you know like i'm like google big biggest playstation ip like i know i know horizon will be on the list but like you have uncharted and they made the uncharted movie and it was very okay so i kind of get but like i would take more uncharted video games yeah even last of us

1:10:21Andy Cortez:yeah i mean i would take a multiplayer last of us game that'd be dope and i would also i would also take it imagine if it was like in san francisco we got to run it was like the division but it was last of us and naughty dog made it in-house imagine if i could take arc raiders but just make that last of us you know rather than robots it's last of us like that'd be that'd be fucking

1:10:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:cool that'd be really good i mean never gonna happen this is the same company that owns blood born that's a great point too bless that's a really blood born a game that we we just want anything with a remaster even now they own uh rahul coley's likeness though so we could do

1:10:53Andy Cortez:stuff with that. And that's another thing. You know, like Returnal's an IP. That seems like when you look at the Exit 8 film, Returnal strikes me as that could be an awesome movie. Oh, for sure. Oh, Returnal movie

1:11:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:would be incredible. Yeah, I'm just growing up. I mean, they are making that Helldivers thing. They apparently are. But I'll take more Helldivers thing. I'll take a Helldivers. This is what I want you to do. Actually, don't do this. Unless everybody involved wants to do this.

1:11:18Andy Cortez:Yeah.
