In short

Kinda Funny Games Daily covers gaming news and discussion: a rumored new Nintendo Switch 2 model, Ubisoft’s Division 3 creative director leaving for EA/Battlefield Studios, and Amazon’s New World Aeternum shutting down.

Guests

Gary Whitta (ex-Cast reunion; screenwriter/creative known from public-facing work). No other guests appear as interviewees.

Key claims

  • Switch 2 rumor: Nintendo account portal shows a new product code “OSM” that returns an image of Switch 2; host argues it likely points to a Switch 2 Lite-style cheaper model, not an imminent refresh. They note Switch 1 codes differed and that “OSM” doesn’t match prior Switch 1 patterns.
  • Division 3: Creative director Julian Garrity left Ubisoft for EA’s Battlefield Studios; Ubisoft says Division 2/3 creative directors will continue and extraction mode leadership changes.
  • New World Aeternum: Amazon Games will take the MMO offline January 31, 2027; purchases of in-game currency/items stop July 20, 2026; no new content, only bug/performance monitoring.

Notable examples

  • Switch 1 refresh cadence (Lite then OLED) used as a comparison.
  • Division’s Dark Zone described as a key PvP-in-PvE strength.
  • Gary’s personal play: Ark Raiders extraction/PvP moments and sound design; mentions “smoke” escape at an elevator extract.

2:18We'll have all that and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily.

2:29What's up, everybody? And welcome to Kind of Funny Games Daily for Friday, January 16th, 2026. I'm one of your show hosts, Snowbike Mike, and we're back with an ex-Cast reunion. A Friday with your favorite, Gary Whitta. What up, big Gary? Gary, you look good. Thank you. You know, I lost quite a bit of weight. I know you've been killing it on the weight loss You know what else it is? It's the glasses Those thick frames are doing it for you I thought they were a little too Austin Powers when I first got them And some people don't like them Because these are the metas And these are the ones that have the wristband So if I can do gestures and shit will show up I'm like fucking Iron Man That's so cool I've got all kinds of HUD When I think Gary Witt I think that guy's got a HUD That he's looking at as right So that's why they're so thick Yeah, because they have to fit in all the privacy-invading bullshit Zuckerberg surveillance state Palantir technology.

3:23Gary, it's great to see you. You and I haven't been together in quite some time. I have a lot to tell you. The way my heart lifted when I came in this morning and I said to Greg, who am I on with today? And he said, Mike, I was like, oh. And we get some fun. Back together. Because, Gary, I got a lot of gaming stuff on my mind. One of them leading the charge, Xbox developer underscore direct next week. Yeah, I'm coming in for that. I'm going to be back together. We're going to see Fable and Forza Horizon in Japan. Let's fucking hope it isn't an L-Cast reunion. No L-Cast. Where are the vibes right now, Mike?

3:53Are they off? Are they on Xbox vibes? For Xbox? Yeah. And where are they going to be after Friday? They're back on? No, they're off. Oh, they're off. They're just slightly off. What's it going to take to flip that vibe switch from off to on? Fable's showing really cool. Yeah. Forza Horizon hitting you with exactly what you want to see. The thing about it, what's interesting is that we're, because those are the two banner games that we know about, right? I mean, there could be something we don't know about. That's always exciting. I know Paris is always holding out for fucking Banjo-Kazooie. Yeah.

4:21Never going to happen, by the way. Let them know. But, so it's interesting, right? Forza Horizon 6, I'm very excited about that. For the longest time, I have been saying, like, can you please bring this game to Japan, right? It makes total, like, there's a box that is just waiting to be checked. You've been to all these other cool places, but come on, Japan, right? Beautiful countryside, Mount Fuji, beautiful rolling hills, but also, you know, Tokyo, Akinabra, fucking Tokyo Drift, drifting around those corners. It was always going to happen. So I'm glad they've gone there. What's interesting is, like, I'm sure it's going to look great, right?

4:58Because these Forza games, they always do look great. But, like, it's very unlikely we're going to be, yep, that is an awesome-looking Forza game set in Japan. There's not going to be any, like, big curveballs in that one, right? No, no, no. But with Fable, obviously, again, we know what kind of game it's going to be because there's been a long history of these games, but we still haven't seen that much of it. Even though we've seen nothing of Forza Horizon, you can imagine, we know what it's going to look like. It's not like Forza in Japan, and that's going to be great. Fable, have they ever shown any real running around gameplay?

5:27They've shown very small stuff. It's a tiny bit, right? But we want a good chunk of it. This is it. I feel like they must know that, what is this, the fourth time, fifth time that it's been part of some kind of showcase, they can't fuck around anymore. It's time to open the kimono. I'm excited, Gary. You know what else? There's a couple more things on my gaming mind right now. Of course, the reveal of Tomb Raider. Sophie Turner as the Amazon Tomb Raider. Yeah, what was your feeling? She looks great. The outfit looks great. Double thumbs up for that. It's interesting that they went back to a very early version of Lara Croft.

5:58Yo, gee. I love it. Because the Angelina Jolie one was kind of like neither one thing nor the other, I don't think. And then the newer version with Alicia Vikander, right? They were clearly going for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the newer games, right? The more, I'm all fucked up and I've got a pickaxe. And there was a new look. They basically reinvented her look. Yes. And they went to that. For this, I mean, they went all the way back to the fucking red sunglasses. That's like Tomb Raider 1. It's like an OG. Super cool. Yeah. And then, Gary, the final thing on my gaming mind, it's not a gaming thing, but it's a youth thing, Gary.

6:32See You in Hell, Episode 1 has released. I listened to it. Oh, you did? I want more people to listen to it. You know what, Gary? I had a ton of fun with it. It's fun, right? Made you laugh? I was like, man, I'm smiling. I'm enjoying this game. My first time writing comedy. Really? Yeah. You did a good job. Full on. I mean, I try to make jokes. I put jokes into everything I write. But this is the first time I'm like, can I write like a half hour, quote unquote, sitcom? Yeah. And it's been doing really well. You want to give you the headlines? Top 50 Apple Podcasts fiction chart. Nailed it. Top 10 in comedy fiction.

7:08Okay. Top 2 % of all fiction podcasts worldwide. And top 5 % of all podcasts worldwide. That includes Joe Rogan and all that shit. Everybody clapping up for Gary one time. Clapping up. For a debut show with only one episode in the feed, that's not doing to. Now, the thing is, Mike, I did not think this through at all. Okay. I said, let's put a pilot episode out there and see if there's an appetite for more. Oh, shit. Without giving any thought to what I would do if there was an appetite for more. Because I always assume the worst. but it has been very successful and now obviously like I have to go do episode two.

7:41Yeah. So I'm running around right now scrambling trying to put that I'm going to put it together very quickly. The good news is having done episode one it's much easier to do episode two because all the foundational stuff is already there. Of course. I already spoke to Shannon and Tommy and John Cryer and Paul Scheer and great voices all coming back all coming back for more and I'm excited to get episode two into the feed as quickly I'm writing it right now. Good job. Go to seeyouinhell.tv has all the links. So you can go to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pocket Casts. You know the phrase, Mike, wherever you get your podcasts.

8:15And we're at a point now, this is really interesting. Apple is paying attention to it. Because they look at the numbers and they go, ooh, this might be a show. This is a show that we might want to algorithmically bump. And so if we keep the show momentum going, that will, you know, it'll grow. So check it out. And if you're on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, which are the two platforms that allow you to leave like a rating and a comment, please do that because that helps the algorithm immense. I like that. Yeah. So you can go to see you in hell.tv and you can actually listen to the show. The first episode, there you go, like right in the, right in the player.

8:46And this is what, what's embedded there right now is the most recent episode, which was just me putting like a little explainer into the field. Like, yeah. Oh yeah. So I didn't think we were going to have to do an episode too, but I guess now we have to, so it's on its, it's on its way. So yeah, it's really, it's been very, no, I did not write all of it and record ahead. Langley M. Neely, perhaps. Come on, Langley. Give me a link to your fucking podcast where you wrote the whole. What the fuck? This is hard work, you know. I'm not getting paid. There's no money in this. Gary, that's all the things that are on my mind before we start the show.

9:21What about you? How have you been? What have you been up to? What's the latest and greatest with you, Gary? Art Raiders, bro. You've been going topside. I've been going topside. Leaving Sporanza, going topside. I've been going topside. Damn. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you the way, that game is so fucking sweaty. Coming off of Helldivers, which is, you know, obviously a very, you know, I have 2 ,000 plus hours in Helldivers. That's my jam. But, you know, Helldivers is obviously, you know, you can get into some sweaty situations there. But generally it's like you land and you're like, right, let's go fucking chop it up.

9:49Let's go find some automatons or bugs to like wipe out. And you generally like this full on like, you know, just get in there, right? Just fucking steam in. That is not, Art Raiders is the exact opposite of that. It's like, oh shit, there's a low level drone. I better shit my pants and hide in a fucking bush for half an hour because that thing can kill me. It's a whole delicate dance. That thing can pest you, kill you. It's so much more sneaking around. And that's before you even add the PvP aspect. Don't get me coming around you. Because I know you're the most toxic man in gaming, everybody. The chat gets upset at me.

10:23Mike is that guy. He's the guy with the smiling face with the fucking knife behind his back waiting for you to turn around. Nicest guy socially in video games. The most toxic motherfucker I have ever, ever played with. Gary, I drop into the game and the first things in my mind is, okay, take it slow and listen for the gunshot. Because there's jabronis out there. Like you just said, oh my God, here comes some arc after me. Do I wait in a bush and let it come by? Or do I have to shoot it? And the moment you shoot, I'm running after you. That game should win some kind of an award for sound design.

10:56because sound is such an important part of that game. You've got to play with headphones. You've got to play with the directional audio. Anytime you hear anything, you're like, oh, what the fuck is that? Because every encounter is a big deal, right? There's no bad guys in that game that you can just, like, fucking mow them down, right? Even the lowest-level drones require a certain amount of, you know, they can kill you. You've got to be good. And so you go top. They've successfully done it. As soon as you're topside, why is Leah texting me? She knows I'm live. Hold on. You've got to just check in, Gary.

11:26That's what a partner does.

11:30So, top side. This is how I play, Mike. Tell me, Gary. I want to hear about you playing this. We go up top, right? And I've played some. To me, it's not that fun a game to play solo. Okay. You really want to play with. You can play solo, and it's fine. Yeah, yeah. But it's really a game you want to play with at least one other person and ideally three people together. Here's my vibe. We'll go up. one box, like some rusty tools or whatever. I'm like, fine, let's fucking go. Let's extract. How quickly do we get out of here? I don't want to stay up. Every minute you're up there, it's scary. And the PvP aspect is amazing.

12:07So I was playing with Adam Boyes last night who was already prestiged and is big time into it and also is a bit toxic as well. He told me, let's go hide in this room. And he put a barricade kit up on the inside of the door and he said, so when people come through that And then you put a trip mine on the other. When people come through that barricade, you're going to fuck them up. Yeah. So he's toxic as well. So we were playing last night, right? We had a bunch of gear, and it's time to extract. And obviously that's the sweaty thing about these extraction games, right, is you've still got to get out.

12:37You've still got to get out. You might have some stuff in your safe pocket, but you want to get out. And you know I'm camping the extraction. Well, that's the thing. You know I'm camping. So we're heading back to the elevator, right? And there's these two other guys behind us. And Adam's like, why are these guys following us? And we're in the party chat, right, where they can't hear us. You can also do prox chat where everyone can hear you. So me and Adam are talking in the prox chat. And he's like, sorry, in the party chat. These motherfuckers, I think they're going to try and campus at the extract.

13:03Yeah. And so Adam starts talking to them in prox chat. The right thing to do. Guys, you lost. Why are you following us? And they're like, oh, we're looking for the water treatment plan. That's a lie. That's back that way. Look on the map. No, no, I'm pretty sure it's this way. No, no. You're following us. No, well, you know. And I was like, yeah, I'm getting a bad vibe off of these guys. These guys are going to fucking campus. And so we get over to the elevator. And of course, what they want to do is, is fucking gank you right at the elevator, take all your shit and then extract with all your shit.

13:31I love doing that. This is the, of course I love doing that extraction shooter one-on-one, right? They call them rats. You know, you bring the cheese to me. Yeah. I eat the cheese. Right. So, and so we're at the elevator, the doors open and you've got, now you've got two minutes, right. To get in. And it was like, they're going to fucking snip us as we try to, because we're like 50, maybe 50 yards, 50 meters from the extra action. And we know they're on the other side, like waiting for us to run. These motherfuckers. And so Adam, he said, I'm going to pop some smoke. And so he threw a bunch of smoke into the elevator and then we ran.

14:05It's not like a super exciting, but it's one of those things. Oh, man, that was so cool. Much like Helldivers, the success of these games is based on those moments, you know, where you've got to like, but the next thing, I've got to tell Mike about this shit that happened last night in Art Raiders. because it is that game that develops those kind of viral cinematic, those kind of moments where you're like, oh, that was so fucking, I've got to clip that. It has that. It has that same. Even though it's a very, very different game, Helldivers is like just steam in and start fighting. Arc Radies is much more like be careful, hide, like don't just start fucking firing at things and be nervous any time you're around other players because you just don't know.

14:43And the matchmaking is really, really good. They have this like aggression-based matchmaking system where I'm not very sweaty. I don't necessarily want to PvP a lot so when I go in by myself I'm seeing a lot of when I see other players like me who immediately go don't shoot, I'm friendly, I don't want any trouble but when you go in with someone I'm playing with Dave Chen, I don't know if you know Dave but been around forever, cool guy I used to play the division with him a lot we're going to talk about the division today and Dave said bear in mind I'm a rat, I kill a lot of people in this game so now you're matched with me that probably put us in a lobby where there are other rats.

15:21So just be – yeah, and so it proved. What a game. I mean, I don't know – Favorite map? What's that? Favorite map so far? I don't have a ton of – I like Blue Gate. Blue Gate is cool. Blue Gate is very cool. Yeah, I like Buried City. Buried City's fun? And I just dropped into Stella Montis, which is – That is – I'm not quite – what I learned is I'm not quite ready to go there yet. Yeah. But I'm loving it. I don't know – it came out – I saw Shrouders going like, this should have been game of the year, but I think it came out of like an awkward. I think it came out of the awkward window. Was it in consideration?

15:50I don't know when the cutoff is. I don't know the timing. I think it was right there. The Game Awards have that weird cutoff, right? Maybe it'll be next year or whatever. But I think it was not made for one. Absolutely one of the best games I've played in a very long time. Ark Raiders, man. It's one of those games where I'm gifting it to a couple of my friends. I'll buy it for you. He's got to come play with me. My brother-in-law's playing it. Probably the most diverse group of people among my friends that I've seen playing any one game at a particular time. So if I log into Art Raiders, it's very likely at least one person I know is on.

16:23And so I can find someone to match up with. Loving it. Art Raiders is my recommendation. You know what else I love? I love talking video game news with you. Let's jump into it, of course. Don't forget, if you're watching live, you can be part of the show by super chatting on YouTube.com slash kindoffunnygames. And you can also correct us if we get things wrong by going to kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong anytime we mess up. Don't forget, we'd like to thank our Patreon producers over at patreon.com slash kindoffunny. Thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Psalm Twining. I'm going to read out that super chat real quick.

16:56Please read it. Because I thought the same thing. Al Hawk needs a self-revive for normies like me. One of the reasons why I don't like to play solo is not that I don't want to have someone who's watching me. I want to fight with other people, like with other players on my side. It's just that if you get knocked, that's it. There's no self-revive. There's no way to get back up, right? So there's very little margin for it. There's no safety net. You know what I would like? At least with another player, they can revive you. I would like to just be able to reach into my pocket, drop the stim. Hey, you down me.

17:27I've sweet-talked you. I've convinced you to pick me back up. You don't have a stim. I do. I grab it by myself. So you can revive other players on your team, but you cannot revive other players who are not on your team unless you have a defibrillator with you, which is an item you have to craft. Yes. Yeah, it would be nice. If you've got one on you, yeah, that's a good idea. Carry a defibrillator so that someone else can use it on you. I've got a defib on you. Just pull it out of my pocket. Yeah. Got to be in your safe pocket, though. There you go. That's a good idea. You should be a game designer, Mike.

17:51I like that. I like that. Well, let's start with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. Today, we have five stories. A Baker's Dozer! Gary Whitta, story number one. A mystery product code sparks rumors of a new Switch 2 model. This coming from Ollie Reynolds at Nintendo Life. We got a blue sky. That's a BS, Tim. An unusual discovery on Nintendo's official website has got folks chatting about a potential new Switch 2 model. The discovery comes via BlueSky user Dootsky, who notes that a new product code labeled OSM can be uncovered on the Nintendo account portal page.

18:40They state that requesting the OSM product code returns an image of the Switch 2, while folks over at Reset Air claim that any other code results in an error message. So what does this mean? Are we due for a new Switch 2 model already? Well, no one, well, no, hold your horses. In a follow-up post, Dootsky quite rightly states that the original Switch model, i.e. the Lite, OLED, etc., all had similar product codes. H-A-E, H-A-D, H-D-H, and H-E-G. The B-E-E product code for the Switch 2 shares no similarities with O-S-M. Gary Whitta, are you ready for another Switch model? I mean, it's not speculative to say that there's going to be some kind of Switch 2 new model, right?

19:33Because, of course, there is. Switch 2 has been a massive hit, right? Hugely, hugely successful. Rightly so. It's a great system. And much like the original Switch, right, which spawned first a light, the light model, right? And then the OLED. Yep. Do you think there will be a Switch 2 Lite with the same idea, like non-detachable, non-dockable, but cheaper? I think they found a lot of success with the Switch 1 Lite. I think they found that having a cheaper model or version, similar to what we talk about with Xbox. I like the Switch Lite. I think they found a lot of success with that. And I would not be surprised when they look at the Switch 2 and go, well, what if we can get manufacturing costs a little bit cheaper?

20:16What if we can sell it at a little bit cheaper price? What if we can get more people on board with this? I think, yeah, it's a good aim. Unless there's some technological or economic reason not to, which I don't understand what that necessarily would be, I think it makes sense for them to follow the very successful playbook they had with Switch 1, right? Launch the OG, then a light model, and then an OLED. One of the few things that I was disappointed about when they showed the Switch 2 was no OLED, right? Because everyone, you know, once you've seen an OLED screen, you can't go back. It changes you.

20:49It's like the deep, rich blacks and there's nothing like it. It's OLED or no LED in my house. You've got to have the OLED display. It's so fucking good. And now the thing is when I actually saw it, this looks, screen's good, right? Screen's bright. I think it is, I think like if you talk to like the Digital Foundry guys or like the real fucking nerdy pixel counters, they will tell you the refresher or whatever. It's actually not the best. That screen could be a lot better, right, than it is. It's a very good screen, but it could be better. And so I think an OLED version makes a lot of sense. Obviously, it's still very, very early in the Switch 2's life cycle, right?

21:26The fact that they are able to dig out like a prototype image or whatever that might be doesn't in any way indicate anything is imminent. They probably, Nintendo, don't forget, these are companies playing ahead. They probably had their whole roadmap. Like, okay, so we'll launch the OG Switch 2, and then we'll do the light and the OLED at these points down the road. Like, they already knew what they were doing. Of course. So just the fact that there might be plans somewhere that someone's been able to data mine doesn't mean anything is necessarily imminent. It's too early for a refresh, right? Switch 2 is still very new.

21:54You're a year old. Of course, of course, Gary. I think we're at roughly the anniversary right now, aren't we? Like one year of the Switch 2? It's in that ballpark. It was in June, I thought. Was it? Yeah. No. I thought it was June, right? Oh, maybe. The Summer Game Fest. Has the Switch 2 only been up for like seven or eight months? Yeah, I think so, Gary. Wow. I don't think it's been that long. It felt longer. but yeah so I mean all the more reason right it's too early like how long after the switch one was the light a while right yeah chat keep me honest help me out look up when the switch light yeah let's ask let's ask but like let's ask chat KFGD well now the question is Gary I think because it went I thought it went switch one switch one with a better battery life than the switch light oh that's I mean that's a non-sexy refresh the better battery yeah for me personally like when we talk OLED, right, it would be kind of a punch in the gut to be six months later, a year later, and be like, hey, guess what?

22:48We got the OLED. Then you'd be like, ah, why did I waste my money? But I do think a Switch Lite, Kevin, if you bring up the blue sky, the BS there, Tim, you can see it's got kind of the rounded edges, and of course, it's just... When I first saw that image, that to me looks like a Switch Lite. Switch Lite, right? I don't know, yeah, because it is more rounded. Yeah, so look, someone in the chat just said, so So 2019, so two years after the Switch came out, we got the light. And then two more years after that, we got the OLED. I think that cadence, there's no reason why that wouldn't be the same cadence.

23:19So you don't think this year? No. You don't think holiday this year maybe lined up with a Pokemon? Too early. Okay. I think so. Well, keep an eye out there. I mean, again, with Nintendo, who the fuck knows? Nintendo gonna Nintendo. They're gonna do what they want to do. But yeah, obviously there's going to be more Switch 2 variants, right? Because it's hugely successful. I saw someone in the chat, Gary, when they took the product code OSM, they put on-screen menu. Could it be a different change up to just the theme that we see with the Switch? Wasn't it something about Ounce? Did you see that?

23:55No, what's that? Ounce was apparently the code name for Switch 2 when it was in development. Oh, okay. So there's some like Ounce smaller model or something like that. There's another, there was another, people are going like, what could OSM mean? Again, it's all pie in the sky. Who the hell knows? We know it's coming. We probably know. Like, it's unlikely they're going to deviate too much from, you know, a light model makes a lot of sense. OLED model makes a lot of sense. Other than that, I don't know. And the OLED model might make less sense in the sense that the Switch 2 screen is so much better than the Switch 1 screen in terms of, like, just vibrance.

24:28It's still not an OLED, but it's much better. I don't think you would necessarily, when you put a Switch 1, OG model and a Switch OLED next to each other? Night and day, right? Night and day. I don't know if it would be night and day between a Switch 2 OG and a Switch 2 OLED. It might be, but we'd have to see. We'll ask Tim. He's got all the toys. We'll ask Tim to bring it in. But a Switch Lite, we feel good with a Switch 2 Lite. Follow the playbook that you already had. Just follow the Switch 1. The Switch playbook was very lucrative for all concerned. I like that. Well, Gary, we're going to move on to story number two.

30:24Let's talk about story number two. A week after talking up the Division 3 boss Julian Garrity has left Ubisoft for EA. Andy Robinson at VGC reports. A week after talking up the in-development Division 3 series creative director Julian Garrity has left Ubisoft's massive studio to join Electronic Arts. It's been confirmed. In a statement on social media, Ubisoft confirmed that the Division Series and Star Wars Outlaws lead has joined Battlefield Studios. Quote, while we'll miss him, his mark will live on at Massive and will continue to bring the world he's been a part of creating to our players for years to come, it said.

31:09For our players, don't worry, agents. Our team who built this world with Julian are still here, carrying it forward with an ambitious, unchanged commitment for the future with the Division 2, the Division 2 survivors, the Division Resurgence, and the Division 3, end quote. In a further statement, Ubisoft said Division veterans Yannick Banchero and Mateus Carlsen would continue as creative directors for the Division 2 and the Division 3, while massive veteran Magnus Jensen has rejoined to lead extraction mode the Division 2 survivors. It's not clear what role Garrity will take at Battlefield Studios.

31:51His appointment comes shortly after the traffic death of Battlefield franchise boss Vince Sampella, who died in a car accident in December. Rest in peace there, Vince. really sad stuff on that one that we reported on but now we have some movement here Gary in the video game world a week after hyping up the Division 3 leaving for EA what's your thoughts on that I think it's potentially a big get for EA and a big loss for Ubisoft Julian is the man right he's very very senior guy there and I think it was probably I'm not privy to like what who's actually who there but like from a public facing standpoint Julian was like very instrumentally in the success of these games, the division outlaws and other things that have been hits for Ubisoft at a time when, um, you know, hits for Ubisoft is kind of thin on the ground, right?

32:42Again, the vibes are off Ubisoft and have been for a while. The division is for me, it's my favorite thing that they have. You know, I love the, I love the division. And funnily enough, the headline for me was, Oh, so they aren't not today. Like when I first heard about this the other day, I was like, Oh, so they are making some reason I kind of slept on this and didn't know that they were making division three. I thought they were done. I can't fucking wait for that. Cause that's my, That's my other game. You and I never played the division. No, we didn't get it a long time ago. It's a good fucking game.

33:08It's a great game. And me and Greg were here just a week or two ago, hyping up what we heard from Julian and the team talking about the division three saying it's going to make big waves. It's going to be a big splash. It's going to be a return to form. And it was like an exciting moment. Right. But as well, it's been a long time since the division has been around. Right. Division two has had its tail end. we're kind of like holding on for waiting for more division but we're not there yet and to get the excitement to get that hype and then to see you leave that's also a tough one there gary as the reason the reason why i um i want to play division with you and we could do it in division two right now or maybe better to wait for division three and see what they're doing is like i'm guessing that they will continue this because it's been one of the most popular parts of the division games is the fucking dark zone dark zone we've got to chop it up in the dark zone we talked about that That is one of the best implementations of like a PVP mode within a PVE game that I've seen, you know, where you're like, you have to go through the special gate and you check in, you know, and then when you walk through the other side, you know, yeah, because in the law, right, they cordoned off a particular area that was like more fucked up than anywhere else.

34:12And we're just going to call that the dark zone. And that's your PVP zone. As soon as you go through that door, you know, right, it's on, right? And I feel like for you, the way that you like to do PVP, that is something that we should definitely explore. It's so interesting because I played the Division Dark Zone and I enjoyed it, but I think now further a couple years later and having extraction shooters where they are and the excitement that I have with them, I think the Division III has a really great opportunity. Me and Greg talked about this as well, to really make a big imprint here on the extraction shooter side of things and have that whole part of the Division blow up in a big way for the multiplayer side.

34:50It's going to be pretty exciting. Did they say anything about what Julian's going to be doing? EA? Did you mention Battlefield? He has joined Battlefield Studios. The role has not been announced yet. But of course, you talk about a big time name. Of course, Vince and the tragic passing there. Big shoes to fill, right? But Julian has got very large feet. I mean, as well, EA has put a bunch of smaller studios underneath the new umbrella of Battlefield Studios' name now. And so someone needs to run that. Someone needs to keep the course going because they had such a great showing this year. Battlefield 6 came out and it was very, very good.

35:28And so they need to keep the Battlefield name on the roll right now. I cannot miss that. Yeah, like I said, I think it's a big get for EA and a big loss for Ubisoft. A time where Ubisoft can't really afford to take that many L's, right? They're racking them up. I don't know, like Assassin's Creed Shadows was good, right? Yeah, but it wasn't great, I think is the problem. I think a franchise like that and Shadows and being in the setting that it was, I think it needed to be more than just good. And unfortunately, I don't think it was. It's unfortunate as well that they finally went to Japan the same time that Yote came out.

36:01Right. That was not. That's the conversation. But I mean, I think both companies here, you have the good and the bad with right. Both of them need some wins. Both of them have some losses recently. Both of them need more positivity going into them. Right. And so either way, you jump off one ship, you go to the other ship, you can talk smack about both sides. But it is a big role. I mean, I don't think Ubisoft is like totally lost. I know the narrative around it. It's very, very easy to be negative about Ubisoft. And I'm not in any way a defender of Ubisoft because I think they have done a lot of stupid, you know, shitty stuff.

36:31Like, remember when they were trying to do NFTs? Like, what the fuck? Very, very silly. Yeah. But, you know, obviously their big pirate game kind of ended up. Yeah, that sucked. Did not live up to the mega, mega hype. But Shadows was good. Outlaws was very good. Yeah. You know, they're still - Could have Black Flag remake coming back. That might sway the fans. Ubisoft is still capable of making really good games. the problem is they only at this point they only really make that one type of game they know what they're good at they want to focus in on their formula yeah they've talked about their big flagship titles like we've talked about with many other companies right and they've identified that like their flagship titles are assassin's creed far cry you have rainbow six siege and tom clancy of course so like and the division is part of that yes of course and so they've identified ghost recon are they still doing ghost recon they don't make ghost recon but I mean, it's under the Tom Clancy umbrella.

37:23Yeah, yeah, yeah. So like at any moment you could, but with Rainbow Six Siege being so big that it is, you don't really need to figure out another one. They did try, what was the recent shooter that didn't make it either? Oh, X Defiant. X Defiant. Yeah, that would have been your Tom Clancy type game. Yeah, Hero Shooters are hard right now. It's obviously a very competitive space to be in. So yeah, I mean, they have their formula. They know what they do. I think the fans want them to do other things like Prince of Persia that had a really great one with Lost Crown recently. Of course, the crew, Motorfest, continues to sell, even though I don't know a single person who plays the crew, but somehow the crew continues to just survive and be a part of it.

38:03So they have their games there. Yeah, but definitely a big loss. It may not, I don't know how deep Division III is into development. I think pretty cozy. The last thing I heard Julian say was like, oh, yeah, it's going to be great. The way that he was talking about it made it sound like they were pretty far along in development, basically. So I'm excited about that. Yeah, with him leaving, they have already had the groundwork, the foundation of it all. So I'm sure it's the continued go. Just please, for fuck's sake, and I don't want to sound like a broken record. For Division III, please give us cross-play.

38:32Please give us cross-progression. When Division, the first one, I can't remember which one it was. I really wanted to play with you guys. You guys were all on PlayStation. I was on Xbox. It's like those stupid artificial walls. They've got to come down. I don't know why Helldive still doesn't do it. It has cross-play, but not cross-progression. Arc Raiders came out of the gate day one, cross-play, cross-progression. That should be... We're at a point now where that should not be considered a luxury. It should be considered the standard. It's like, if you don't have it, why not? Clearly, it can be done.

39:02Fucking do it. Chat, we have a super chat coming in from Yel Sing for$2, who says, when was the last time Ubisoft made a real banger? Chat, sound off. When was the last time Ubisoft made a real banger? Gary, do you have one off the top of your mind? You have to go back. I mean, Outlaws was a banger, wasn't it? I mean, I didn't play it, but, like, the reviews were great. People seemed to like that game a lot. Yeah, he was going with Outlaws. As Star Wars games go, I feel like they did very well with it. I thought their last Far Cry was one of their best since Far Cry 3. I think it was a good return.

39:31What was the last one, 6? 6, yeah. I think it was pretty split down the middle there. I don't think many people liked it, but I thought it was their best for a long time. Of course, you go back to Lost Crown, Prince of Persia. Okay, we can stop right there. Lost Crown Prince of Persia was really, really good. Odyssey was very, very good. My wife, who plays all those games, loved it. She didn't like Ragnarok. She's played a fair bit of Shadow. I think Odyssey is still by far her favorite. You also have one of the biggest live service games in the world, Rainbow Six Seeds, continuing to truck on.

40:02So, like, yeah, hard to say when they didn't have a banger when Rainbow Six is still around, for sure. Yeah, and again, the Division games, they're really fucking good. We'll see. Story number three, Amazon Games' New World Aeternum to go offline in January 2027. This is coming from Sophie McAvoy at GI Biz. Amazon Games is shutting down New World Aeternum, announcing that the MMO will go offline on January 31st, 2027. I didn't mean, sorry, I just went in the chat. I didn't mean Ragnarok, I meant Valhalla. Valhalla, yes. The Assassin's Creed game. The game was delisted yesterday, though players who purchased the game prior to this date will be able to play it until the servers are shut down next year.

40:45From July 20th, 2026, players will no longer be able to purchase in-game currency or any other in-game items. While there will be no new content for the remainder of New World's life, the developer, quote, will continue to monitor bugs and performance to ensure the game runs smoothly as things wind down, end quote. We want to thank players for their dedication and passion, the development team said. We are grateful for the time spent crafting the world of Aeternum with you. Together, we built something special. While we are saddened to say goodbye, we're honored that we were able to share so much with the community.

41:23Last October, Amazon Games announced development would pause on New World and that it would receive no further content updates. Gary another MMO another live service game hitting the stop shutting down yeah I'm grateful for the opportunity to talk about this actually because I got a couple of thoughts on this first of all I did actually play quite a bit of New World when it first came out yes a lot of people did me and Adam and Felicia and some of our little group were playing it and I think it was largely coming out of like looking for something that could scratch that Warcraft itch I'm never going back to Warcraft, but, um, you know, any, I played around with other MMOs that are, you know, similar to that, uh, looking, looking for, I don't know, looking for like Warcraft methadone, basically like what, you know, what can scratch that itch in the same way, but not be as, as, as dangerous to me.

42:13And new world is like, we used to, Joe used to call it the Amazon basics MMO because it's, it's not that great. Like the law, I found the law to be in the world building to be really boring um it was all right it was just like it's just it's just all right and it was actually dune awakening was the game that that to me was the first game to scratch that kind of mmo itch yeah that's a really good game i enjoyed that immensely but i know out of the gate new world was like i remember they had some they put up some big numbers obviously enough to do it to do it to do the big expansion um but it did not uh it obviously did not perform long term and so So, go ahead.

42:48Yeah, it's interesting, Gary, because Amazon Game Studios, right, made a splash, made a scene. Three MMOs, Lost Ark, Throne and Liberty, and then New World Aeternum all came out. Yeah. Each one of them had a little bit of motion there, especially New World at the beginning. They thought it was worth continuing to invest. I'm pretty sure New World Aeternum came to console with a refresh of the whole tutorial and onboarding experience. I remember they added mounts. It was a big deal. So, yeah, very... But not enough in the end. I was impressed by Amazon coming out with these three games, having some sort of motion, being kind of good, and then, yeah, to turn around and say, oh, we're shutting down the service.

43:25Yeah, we played it for like... They had a lot of problems, but they never figured out their economy. The economy was broken, I think. There was a lot going on there. What I want to say in general, because it's interesting that this comes very hot on the heels of the news about Anthem shutting down as well, finally, right? And I think a lot of people... Of course. ...they were like, Anthem was still going, you know? I thought that was dead already. But it's really, really, and obviously a lot of these games, you'll notice they kind of taper them down. It's like, we're going to stop you from putting any more investment into the game.

43:53No more, you can't buy anything new or whatever. We're going to start kind of phasing this down. And then eventually comes the moment where they finally turn off the lights. And I always find it to be a really, really sad moment when this happens. I've said that a million times. I mean, the games that are meaningful for me, I don't think of them as a game that I play, but as a place that I go. I go to Arrakis, you know, or I, you know, or I feel like I'm on the Normandy, you know, and I'm going to I'm going to the fucking Citadel. And I just feel like I'm in these places. And you get more. I'm in Azeroth, you know, and you feel like you feel like you're in these places.

44:26And so when that world goes away, there's there's there's there's something really sad about it. I'm old enough to remember Microsoft back in the day when everyone was quite was chasing EverQuest. This is even pre-Warcraft, I think Microsoft had one called Asheron's Call. OK. And it didn't survive in the long term. and that was one of the earliest things I can remember where you always have these really sad moments where they know the end is coming, right? And there's very few people left, which is why the game is closing down. But the people that left are the ones that care about the game the most, right?

44:52And that's the saddest thing. And you'll always see these final moments where everyone will congregate in a town square or whatever and say their goodbyes and whatever, and then they finally flip out the lights. And there's a sadness to it. Inherently, it is kind of sad. Like I said, Anthem was down to it. Again, I didn't even realize it was still going. It was obviously down to its bare bones, and there was only a small amount of people left there. But that moment where you finally switch off the life support, it's like the patient, like, he's never coming back. It's the worst, Gary. But it's still sad when you have to pull the plug.

45:23Yes, you and I with such a rich MMO background, right? You and I always talked about World of Warcraft, but, yeah, you bring up EverQuest. I think of Guild Wars. I think of, of course, City of Heroes, one of my favorites, right? It's like so many that you spend. The Matrix Online, which back in the day was so much fun. Yeah, you fall in love with these girls. I remember when they pulled the plug on the Matrix. Crazy, Gary. And look at that. And this is the danger of live service games. It's part of the reason why. It's one of the few reasons why I think you're allowed to get excited about a game being super.

45:55Outside of a console wars, like, oh, my game's more popular than yours or whatever. Like, when I'm playing Ark Raiders, it's nice to know that 12 million people are playing it, and it's a massive hit because I don't have to worry about them pulling the plug on it anytime soon. Of course, of course. You know? That one's sad. So you have one full year. You have a little bit over a year right now. Of course, January 2027 will be the end. That's probably the longest amount of time they've given you as a warning. Sometimes we're going to pull the plug in a couple of weeks or whatever. You like a full year on that one?

46:28A long time to kind of press X to pay your respects. Yeah, of course. Yeah. Spend some time. Let's go to our final news story, Gary. Story number four, Lego Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time final battle set announced features Link and Zelda fighting Ganon. This comes from Tom Elefant. Oh, my wife's going to want that and so is my kid. Oh, God. Lego has officially unveiled the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Just skip to the MSRP. Tell me the damage. Tell me the damage. It's interactive elements. Amid the ruins of Hyrule Castle, the N64 Classics climactic battle is brought to life at the touch of a button as minifigure of Ganondorf rises up, ready to take on Link and Zelda.

47:16Inside the set's crumbling tower, three hearts can also be uncovered. Included in the set are the Master Sword and Hylian Sealed and the Megaton Hammer. Ganondorf's minifigure also comes with a snazzy cloth cape. Ready, Gary? The final battle will be a 1 ,003-piece set design that launches on March 1st. Can I take a guess? Please, Gary. Can I take a guess at the price? You should know this. This seems pretty on point for Lego. So we got the Deku Tree, which is a really nice set, and that was expensive. I'm going to say for 1 ,000 pieces. 1 ,000 pieces. Big IP. Collab with Nintendo. I'm going to say...

48:04149, 150, something like that. I think it's going to be on the lower end. 129. Oh, there you go. 129 dollars. That's actually way more reasonable than I would expect. Not bad. That feels Lego to me right there. The deco tree is... Okay. That's a lot more expensive. This is badass, though. This looks very cool, Gary. Yeah, it's funny because... I don't know if Leah ever played. She's a big Zelda person. and Breath of the Wild is like a massive game in my house. My daughter picks it up and just starts it over and replays it just from scratch every now and again. Ocarina of Time, obviously many people will tell you.

48:38I mean, Breath of the Wild has probably upset this to some extent, but a lot of people will tell you. For the longest time, it was considered the best Zelda game. I think at this point, you'd have to say one of the two new ones, right? Either Breath of the Wild or The Kingdom. But a lot of people might well still argue. If you're going to argue for a Zelda game that isn't one of those two, it can only be Ocarina of Time. That's where you go. Don't you think? What else? You know what, Gary? I never played Zelda. Link to the past, maybe. I don't know. Again, if you want to just think about historically how important these games are.

49:08But yeah, it's clearly way up there. I mean, I don't think there's anything else that comes close. Are you a Lego guy at your household? Would you buy this? I mean, I wouldn't because I'm not a Zelda guy, but I know that we're going to be getting that set because everyone else in my house is a big Zelda fan. Yeah, we're buying this. Yeah, we got the Deku Tree. yeah yeah for sure Gary Whitta? yes it's big news it's also a big set but if I won something smaller segue I saw that coming actually I know you felt it Gary Whitta where would we go? well you'd go to the page that has the fucking line on it because I still don't still don't remember it hold on let's see here I'll get this I will get it you'd go to our last story the We News channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about Gary let's jump into of wee news.

49:56From Famitsu, the live action Legend of Zelda movie will be streamed exclusively on Netflix following its theatrical and home entertainment release periods. Okay. From Insider Gaming, CM Punk is reportedly headlining WWE 2K26's Showcase Mode. Okay. Like that? Okay. Okay. I know very little. I haven't really been the WWE guy since the WWF. Now the showcase modes are a great way to learn about those specific people, right? It's the Jordan moments of wrestling. Got it, got it. Where you look back on all their biggest moments. And CM Punk, is he considered an S-tier character? You know what? The people say he's S-tier.

50:40Yeah. I don't mean in the game. I mean like in the WWE pantheon. Oh yeah, definitely. He's like Cena, Rock, Stone Cold level? Really? Because that's S-tier. You're saying he's on the same tier. I don't know if he's Rock and Cena level, but he's up there. He's up there. Who's the S-tier? Cena Rock Stone Cold Hogan even though he's not Undertaker Hogan has been erased from history You're erasing him Yeah I mean you might as well put fucking Chris Benoit in there If you're gonna fucking go there Yeah I mean they just fucking starled him out of history Rightly so Jesus Christ So yeah I guess Are you putting CM Punk there?

51:18I don't know I'm asking you I'm not a wrestling guy Don't we have a fucking expert? Yeah where is he you know what I mean? Usually he smells the chat and he comes in here. The chat says he's S-tier. Cena, okay. Punk is S-tier? Really? Here he comes. You say that CM Punk is on the same level as The Rock and Cena? I guess so. We'll take it. We'll take it. It doesn't, I mean, I'm not the person to know. The comments will come. Yeah. Ace Combat 7 has sold 7 million copies in 7 years. That's huge. I like those Ace Combat games. I'm going to play it for the first time. You see, they did a Top Gun Maverick add-on for it.

51:56I bought that as well. Oh, yeah. I got the flight stick set up, Gary. I got a green screen, full Top Gun outfit. I can't wait to play it. I'm going all in on this. I told you Tim Geddes talked me into going to see Top Gun Maverick in 4DX. And you said, yeah. Honestly, that is the movie that that format was fucking invented for. What a, you know what, let's just, let's not forget, Top Gun Maverick, what a fucking movie. What a banger. They fucking nailed that, Gary. That every now and again, when I'm sitting around and I've got nothing better to do myself, I'll go on YouTube and I'll dial up that sequence.

52:26You know what I'm talking about. When he's the fastest man on the planet? No, no, no. Where he does the canyon run and he shows the fucking rookies that it can be done. Yeah, yeah. Oh, my God. So fucking good. I like the opening scene when he's going Mach 11, man. Crazy. Green Rangers confirmed. I don't see an event scheduled for you, sir. Well, I'm going anyway. Fucking A. That's how you live your life. No Rest for the Wicked has sold one million copies. shout out. What did? No Rest for the Wicked. I don't even know what that is. That is the studio, correct me if I'm wrong, that is the studio from Ori and the Blind Force Moon Studios.

53:01They made a kind of I don't know how to describe it, top down hack and slash roguelike maybe. Okay. Kind of brutal, kind of badass, kind of tough. Released in early access. Still building. Alright. And a million already a million in the bank. Good for them. Oh, is this it here? This is what we're looking at? Yes, this is it right here. Scary art style. What the fuck is that thing? So, yeah, you could jump in on this. This is a cinematic. Where's the gameplay? Kevin will click on it. Okay. Oh, so like a Hades kind of thing, maybe? Kind of, yeah. Top-down action RPG is what the chat says. Graphics are good.

53:40In-game graphics look good. Yeah. It was actually pretty fun to play. Kind of hard, but pretty fun. Okay. Coffee Talk Tokyo has been delayed to May 21st. What has? Coffee Talk Tokyo. Oh, that's right. They're doing the Tokyo spinoff. Yeah. And also Coffee Talk's now coming to mobile. I'm ahead of you. I'm a fucking, I'm ahead of you. Coffee Talk comes to Android and iOS on March 20th. Those are fun games. You ever play Coffee Talk? I've never played that. It's kind of like a visual novel. You think I would like it? You run a coffee shop and basically it's just these characters coming. You just like follow the story.

54:08I love that. But also you have to learn how to make the coffee the way that they like. That's really the only game aspect is making the coffee. You know, I was a barista for quite a while. Oh, yeah. Well, you'd probably be good at it. I was whipping them up. coffee talk. I never had coffee before stepping foot inside of that store. Left addicted to coffee. Which reminds me of the old SNL coffee talk. And then the biggest news in We News. Roger put a footnote on my doc saying this is huge. Okay. Subway Surfer City launches on February 26th on Android and iOS. Wait, what does? Subway Surfer City.

54:43Okay, so what is that? Kevin, bring it up. I'll tell you what. You got something for us? Subway Surfers. Is it Subway Surfers 2? What is a Subway Surfer? What does that mean? You've never seen Subway Surfers? No, what is that? Oh, the kids love Subway Surfers. You ever seen Temple Run? Are you like running on top of the fucking subway train? It's a constant run. Yeah. There's three tracks on the subway. Okay, here it is. All right, okay. Oh my God, I'm not sure about the art style. It's for the youth. It is. It's for the young people. This might not be me. Okay. If it's a four player. Back to the future style hoverboards.

55:18If it's a four-player subway surfer, you can mark us down for, yeah, we're in. Okay, yeah, so it's an endless runner. Yeah, endless runner is what it is. Nothing wrong with that. Four-player mode is interesting. Again, show me the fucking game. Kevin, give us a little click around. Let's see if we can find some. You got any gameplay, or is it all just cinematic? Another jabroni who knows so much and then just leaving us out to dry here. You know, Roger in the building and everything. I mean, I can imagine what it looks like. I can kind of see it in my head right now. You know, just again, the top down and the four different lanes and stuff.

55:53We're going to get Gary Witten in the subway surfers, Jack. Watch out. Yeah. Gary, let's go to our final two sections of the day. Let's jump into some super chats and have some fun. Of course. Gary, hold on. I'm sorry. Every now and again. Gary is such a boomer. Fuck you. I'm Generation X. Let him know. The forgotten generation. The one that fucking built the internet and the video game industry that you're all enjoying today. You're welcome. The forgotten generation. So forgotten. Skylar writes in with a nice comment, says, Gary, I loved episode one of See You in Hell. Nothing beats a Widow Wednesday on a Friday.

56:27Tell your friends. We said yell, sing. Oh, here we go. Billy writes in and says, where's Book of Eli 2, Gary? Well, we tried to make the TV show. No one was fucking interested. And fucking John Boyega signed up for three seasons. Nobody wanted to make it because the TV industry is fucked, which is why I wrote See You in Hell. And John's in that, too. John's in it. Gambowski, our dude, writes in and says, that's a damn good hoodie. Mike, looking great. That is a good hoodie. On my old school Diablo. Is that like going back to when Diablo 2 first came out? Oh, it's the expansion set. Lord of Destruction.

57:07Yeah, Gary, I bought this on culturekings.com. I talked about it for the big holiday what to buy your family and friends. I like Culture King's been doing a lot of video game collabs. I'm trying to think, what is like the old, okay, now I just remember what it is. The oldest piece of like video game merch that I own. Yes. EA Sports, get this, you want to fucking. Lay it on me. EA Sports, Triple Play Baseball, 98. I still have the hoodie. It's a really good quality item. It's held up very well over the years. It's very cozy and comfortable. And it reminds me of my happy days playing EA Sports Triple Play Baseball back in the late 90s.

57:44That franchise, that was a banger as well. Gary, I want you to know that next week on the Kind of Funny Xcast reunion, developer underscore direct Gamescast, I'm going to wear a sick European football piece of merch for you that you're going to go, Mike, that's sick. Oh, yeah? I bought it from ClassicFootballShirts.com. Okay. It will arrive today, and I'm excited to show it to you. Sick colorways, sick vibes. Now I kind of want to know what it is. You'll see. You'll see. All right. I'm interested. You'll like it. Let's keep it going right now. We saw the self-res in Super Chats. Zero says, Snowbike Mike, when you see a Raider flare, what's your first reaction?

58:26Gary, when you see a Raider flare pop. Raider flare means they've been knocked, right? They've been knocked. Okay. You hear the, and then it flies up in the air. It looks like a whistling firecracker. What do you do? What's your first reaction? I usually ignore it. Oh? I mean, so, I mean, okay, there's three things you can do. right yeah ignore it ignore it go there and loot the body yeah or go there and and uh help the guy if you've got a defib oh okay but that come on no one's doing that um tell me no i mean i mean what do you i mean again that's the great thing about again do whatever you want but i imagine most people either ignore it because don't forget if someone's just been knocked that means that's a hot area that means it's hot right it could be it could be pvp there's a fight going on there.

59:12It could be bots, you don't know. But yeah, I imagine there's a knock. You see it all the time. You'll see a raider that surrendered or died. Usually, if it's killed by another raider, they're going to be picked over. But if an arc kills you, just yesterday I played a dead raider. I was like, he had a ton of shit on him. I was like, I'll fucking take all of this. I'm taking all of your goop. I was playing with a rando and I got knocked and the guy said, I'm sorry, do you have a defib? He goes, no, sorry, I can't help you. I said, well, just take my shit, whatever. I surrendered and he got my shit.

59:48But I'm going to start bringing a defib. You should. Just because, like, if you get into a situation, it helps you, right? If you're playing with a rando and you're in a firefight with some arc or whatever and your buddy gets knocked, you want to be able to get him back in the fight. Pick him up. Yeah. So I might start bringing a defib. I always run towards the Raider Flare because I know that it's hot and it's going down over there, which means I'm going to have some fun because I'm going to get into it. Whether I shoot in third party, whether I steal all of your loot, I love that. You just want to go where the action is.

1:00:17100%. I'm so bored of just slowly walking around, picking up duct tape and rubber ducks. I'm not here for that. You remind me of Tom Sizemore in Heat. I haven't seen Heat yet. Of course you haven't. So they're going to do this big job, this big bank job, but it's very risky. and De Niro's like, you know, you guys have to tell me if you're in or you're out, you know, because this is a big risk. And Tom Sizemore's character is like, I don't know, what should I do? And De Niro's like, I don't know, you've got a lot of money. You don't really need this. You know, I would cut loose from this one. And he thinks, you know what?

1:00:51For me, the action is the juice. I want the action. He doesn't care about the money. He just wants to rob the bank. He just wants to feel that fucking adrenaline. And that's you. The action is the juice. I'm going to start calling you the juice. I love that, Gary, because you know what? But Gary, I watched One Battle After Another, a movie that I know you loved. There he is. There's Sizemore right there. He's definitely there for the cheese. He is one of the worst. I'm going to watch this movie this week. He's no Wayne Grow, who is by far the worst in that movie. You've got to see. Dude, you need to do a fucking – you and Nick need to sit down and watch Heat for Content or something, because that is a banger movie.

1:01:24I watched Casino recently. Oh, okay. Really like it. Really like Casino. Yeah. Joe Pesci goes out fucking like a bitch in that movie. Joe Pesci, a little bulldog, man. Yeah. That's my guy. Gary, I'll watch that for you. We have another fun one from Scoom Dealer. Says, Mike with a side of Gary. Now that's worth a super chat. Thank you, Scoom Dealer. We have a birthday tax from Big Ram. Ram says, paying my birthday tax. Hope y 'all have a great Friday. Happy Friday and happy birthday to you, my friend. Happy birthday. Punctified writes in and says, it's my time to pay my birthday tax. Much love to Mike and Gary and the entire Kind of Funny crew.

1:02:00We got two big birthdays. Two big birthdays on a Friday. Happy birthday. You want to sing Happy Birthday? Ready? You want to sing the regular Happy Birthday? You can't get in trouble for it anymore, right? Isn't it in the public domain now? Happy Birthday? Yeah. You would get in trouble for singing Happy Birthday? Yeah. How about we give them two Big Booms? What is that? Boom. Boom for their birthday. You know about the Big Boom? No. I'm not familiar with the Big Boom. You know about the Rizzler? No. Nor do I want to be. I know enough about the Rizzler. You see, you heard the Rizzler. I don't want to know anymore about the Rizzler.

1:02:35Fuck the Rizzler. Fuck that little child. He's just a child, man. Children have no business being on the internet. We got one final one coming from Malicious that says, excited to see Gary on the show. Listen to See You in Hell. And it reminded me that I never read Gun Dog. Finished reading it last night and loved it. Oh, hell yeah. Oh, nice. How nice. Getting excited to go check out another Gary Witta project. I enjoyed it. Shannon Woodward, of course, the key player in both of those. She narrates the book, and she plays one of the two leads in See You in Hell. Can we get Gary on a KF Heat rewatch review?

1:03:12Oh, 100%. Okay, Gary. Anytime you do movie-based content, I would love to be a part of it. Okay. Because let's be honest, I'm the only one around here that knows anything about movies. I watch some of you guys talk about movies. I'm like, the fuck are you talking about? Don't know if you know Gary. What? Tim Gettys having a child. He's out. I heard, yeah. Nick Scarpino now running in review our weekly movie podcast, which is now a Nick Scarpino in review led show. Get this. We're watching movies that the whole crew have never seen. I know. And I saw what was it? I know. I saw because I watched your fucking live stream.

1:03:48Yeah. Some of the movies. He's never seen The Godfather, right? Never saw The Godfather. What were some of the other ones? They just did Die Hard. Yeah. Next week, we're going to do Pulp Fiction for me. I've never seen Pulp Fiction. Okay. Okay. I'm not the kind of person, I'm not going to shame you because you haven't seen the movies that I've seen. But you're going to encourage us to watch it. It's really boorish. And I used to be this guy, and I won't be, I never will be again. And the Barbie movie fucking nailed this so well, like the kind of like bro boyfriend behavior. Like sitting your girlfriend down or your wife or your child and saying, you must watch this.

1:04:22I see these, they anger me. I see these, well, not tweets anymore because fuck that. But like, you know, posts on social media where people are like, oh my wife or my girlfriend just told me she's never seen um the godfather or fucking uh justice league well i'm just fixing that right away i've sat her down and i'm gonna make her watch it i'm like dude fuck you like what is this like you're some kind of fucking you think that sitting her down and making her watch godfather makes you some kind of fucking film professor like maybe her tastes aren't your tastes don't try to impose your shit on other people like my kids never seen like my daughter's almost 14 she's never seen star wars i don't give a fuck she's not interested and she's not going to go, well, you've got to, this must be part of your cultural education.

1:05:01Fuck off. You show interest, I'll show you it. Yeah. Okay. Maybe you join us for one of these weeks then. And I'll tell you as well, from a child point of view, it can backfire as well. If you try to impose your tastes on your kids. Don't do that. They'll rebel against you. Don't do that. Yeah. Greg Miller knows he's got a line with Ghostbusters. He's got to ride that happy line. I know, right? Don't overdo Ghostbusters. I'm Superman. I'm not going to impose my tastes. But like, yeah, like you, I'll just say again, you guys don't know. When it comes to movies, you don't have anyone here who knows what the fuck they're talking about.

1:05:32Maybe you should join Pulp Fiction next week. You haven't seen Pulp Fiction? What did you think about Pulp Fiction? It's been a minute since I've seen Pulp Fiction. But yeah, of course. What if you and I do a little rewatch? We'll get you an extra seat. I don't want to do Pulp Fiction. I mean, I would rather, I would rather do a movie. I mean, I think Pulp Fiction is a terrible, sorry, a terrific film. It's a brilliant movie. But if you like something that I could, that's not necessarily the same as like, where would I be a useful contributor to a conversation about it? I think I would have much more to say.

1:05:59I'm going to tell Nick about the Heat. My buddy Danny Trejo in there. You were close friends with him. That was really cool. Very close friends with Danny. I saw him just recently. Our final one, JJ writes in and says, Gary, do you read any fantasy? And if so, do you have any recos? Yeah, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Incredible book. One of the best books I've ever read. And to round out the show, of course, we ask you to keep us honest here on kind of funny games daily. If we screw it up, you can go right into your wrong and help us keep it right. We have one from today coming in from, I don't beat games says today is the one year anniversary of Nintendo officially revealing that.

1:06:39Okay. That's where I got it from. Okay. Yeah. That makes sense. There you go, big dog. And so that is our show. A fun one with Gary, Gary, one more for you that I could ask for you. Go on next week. Yeah. Of course, every Friday we've brought back Party Mode, where the whole gang joins us at the table, plays fun party games. Next week I'm playing a Gary Whitta joint. A Gary Whitta killer recommendation that I fell in love with that I'm going to make them play. Go on. They need to stay on track because they're playing Unrailed. Unrailed. Oh, my God. Gary Whitta. Those games. That's a Gary Whitta joint.

1:07:15Let me tell you, that whole genre, Overcooked. You ever play Moving Out? Love Moving Out. I can't. Those games drive me fucking crazy. It really comes down to the people that you're playing with. Yeah. And with my family, it's always a shit show. You know what? You know what I've really been enjoying? We've been back into Mario Party since it got the Switch 2 update. But you know what else is really good that I've been enjoying? Lego Party. And I don't know how they get away with it. So I've been playing Sonic Racing Cross Worlds. Okay, yeah, yeah. Which is really good. But it's incredible to me that the granularity to which it is just a fucking absolute clone of Mario Kart.

1:07:49Did you see Minecraft 2? If Mario Kart has it, Sonic Racing has its version of it. I was teaching my daughter to play it. She's like, well, what's that? I said, well, you know, like Mario Kart, you have the boxing glove. It's that. It's the green shell. That's their version of the red shell. They have everything. And Lego Party is the exact fucking same. It is the Mario Party formula. 100%. There's literally no deviation. Make your move, land on a special square. Oh, let's play a minigame. Oh, this one's a four-player minigame. This one's one versus three. Nintendo is very litigious but I guess maybe this is something they can't sue them for because I'm sure they would, they would have a case it is astonishing how much these formulas get ripped off by other game makers it's funny because Lego Party is a lot of fun but like as someone who likes Mario Party I can't not sit there and go, this is fucking Mario Party they just completely ripped it off and they did a great job with it because it's a ton of fun have you seen Minecraft 2?

1:08:41no Kevin can you type in Hytale H-Y-T-A-L-E I have heard about this Just hit the scene last week in early access here Gary, it's Minecraft I don't know how we get away with this I don't know what the rules are on this But it's just quite literally Minecraft, Gary I played it for an hour and a half last night It is Minecraft Well, let's see it There's blocks everywhere Okay

1:09:11No, that's something else What the fuck is he doing? Thank you, right there, Kevin That's literally what I clicked Oh, really? I clicked it and it takes you to a gorilla. Oh, that time it took me to the right place. Oh, there we go. It was probably a bear pressing the button. Almost like you fucked up. He wanted to jam out with some dope music. That's probably all. Oh, shit. Gary, Gary, look at this video game. Are you serious? For those listening, this is Minecraft. Are you having a laugh? I'm telling you, Gary. Oh, come on. That is just taking the piss, isn't it? What are the rules on this? When do you and I who own Minecraft, let's say, have a phone call?

1:09:47I think there's probably some people at Mojang and Microsoft right now, or have been for a while, probably talking about what the fuck's going on here. We saw a PlayStation with Horizon, and they said, no, we don't want you to make Horizon 2 over there. And they shut that team down right away. I mean, Power World is still going, right? Nintendo came after Power World? Look at this, Gary. Shocking. I'm playing this right now, though. I mean, I get that the visual style is the same, but is it also a builder? Like, is it a builder? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. and it's all just blocks Gary it's all just blocks great time shocking of course this has been kind of funny games daily if you love what we do consider supporting us with the kind of funny membership available on Patreon or YouTube to get all of our shows ad free and get a daily exclusive show Greg way enjoy the games cast after this and then the party mode stream after that but until next time it's been our pleasure to serve you you know what they say Early Bird gets the ultimate 30A vacation rental.
