Key claims

  • ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X20 fixes issues from the Ally X with a 7.4-inch 1080p/120Hz OLED, improved precision TMR joystick tech, and redesigned airflow; it’s positioned as a “true collector’s item” likely priced extremely high (price not stated in the transcript).
  • PlayStation FlexStrike (wireless fight stick) launches Aug 6, 2026 at $199.99; includes PlayLink and interchangeable analog stick gates.
  • PlayStation 27-inch gaming monitor (QHD IPS, DualSense charging hook) preorders June 5 at $349.99; most console players in their poll use TV (70% vs 30% monitor).
  • Pulse Elevate speakers impress with angled design for better ear-facing sound, directional imaging, and AI mic voice cancellation; price unknown.

Notable examples

  • Hosts discuss setting up gyro controls in Steam/Forza for immersive racing.
  • Weekend movie picks: “Obsession,” “Backrooms,” “Exit,” and “Hokum” (with “Obsession” praised; “Backrooms” rated ~6.5).
  • Gaming: “Elden Ring” not mentioned; they do mention “Me to the Hollower” and “007 First Light” platinum.

2:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for monday june 1st 2026 i'm one of your hosts blessing addio jr join me is lacroix poppy tim mo buggy gettys asus raj xbox ally x20 you gotta pronounce the rog okay the republic of gamers yes yes they don't go by rog or we rog rog ally x20 and what like i know we'll get to the whole story but like what is this is this the anniversary yeah it's the 20th anniversary of something of 20th anniversary 20th anniversary of the republic of gamers sub-brand so not the xbox side of things no okay yeah it's interesting everyone you know we'll get to it later but okay we'll talk about it okay tim how's your weekend my weekend was fantastic yeah i had a lot of a lot of fun a lot of great stuff i got to do and watch and see and all the stuff uh g is mom and uh sister fighting over who gets to take care of samara which is always great because it's all right cool it gives me and g opportunities to to go out and do things which essentially boils down to going to watch movies because we've realized that's the only thing we can't do with her we're at a point we can take her to restaurants we can pretty much anything we're trying to do in public we could do with her except for movies so anytime we have the chance it's like let's go double feature baby i can't believe i pulled this off with g but she was we saw a movie she liked it so much she's like fine let's go see another and that was a miss that was a miss the second movie number one okay obsession dude i gotta watch this movie everyone's right you need to watch it you need to watch it it is so good it's legitimately terrifying it is fucked up as hell it's first 20 minutes i was like alright y 'all overhyped this and then I was like Tim you're a fucking idiot slap myself in the face this movie is so damn good watching theaters they extended the theatrical run it is a just hit across the board I need to watch it in theaters I shouldn't wait for a video it's a theater movie yeah like it's that shared experience of like oh we are all experiencing this together you know the nervous laughter because you're just like this is so fucked up I can't do anything but laugh I feel like the way people talk about it reminds me of the way people were talking about the drama because the drama had a similar turn we're like once the drama happens i was like oh shit okay and i yeah that is true but like imagine that moment but like it's the entire movie of that feeling of like oh okay oh it's a lot i like that it's a lot we then went to the back rooms i knew nothing about the back rooms going in i knew mike is obsessed with getting stuck in them lost in them i'm not exactly sure but he gets very excited whenever he plays i'd never really seen the game i've seen a couple trailers for this i'm like that looks interesting i'll put this one down as a miss i feel like i'd give Obsession a 9 or a 9.5 I'd definitely give Backrooms a 6.5 It wasn't a bad movie but I just don't get it It was creepy for sure Beautifully shot but overall I wouldn't necessarily recommend somebody watch this, specifically in theaters Where are you at with Hokum?

5:31Didn't watch it.

5:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like those have been the triple threat of creepy-ish movies that people are going out to see right now yeah and like right now my priority list has been well also at exit eight there too is exit i need to watch today it is out okay yeah because like i guess that's the quadruple threat because my priority has been i gotta watch obsession first and then it was between back rooms and exit a and hokum was like kind of on my radar but now that more impressions have come out for these movies i feel like hokum might need to move up it seems like people are really fucking with that movie i haven't heard much about it we watched the trailer for it for screencast and i was like looks fine but uh i just all i know is that uh obsessed is you're you're gonna love it i'm excited about that uh and then euphoria ended last night all of us say wow what a show yeah what a show was season three connected to seasons one and two in any real way no no no no felt like a totally different show but i stand by i think this season was like a good season of tv okay very problematic it's euphoria yeah um but i where they ended i'm like damn damn y 'all did something there before a season two i think stressed me out on a level where i was like i physically this is hard to watch for me this one gets so over the season it's so over the top stylized like han zimmer's doing the score this one just feels easy i didn't realize most indulgent season of tv i've ever seen okay and like for that i'm like hey congrats you guys but there's one more thing that's the most important thing i need to bring up from what i did this weekend i went down a rabbit hole that i need everybody to know about all right we've been talking about how multiple of us here at kind of funny have slowly been falling in love with gyro controls when it comes to to playing shooting games right so you're using the controller you're moving around with the left stick but you're aiming mainly the precision aiming right yeah with the controller itself and how satisfying can be and how far we've come with controllers like the dual sense or the steam controller whatever you want to talk about obviously yeah switch controllers something I haven't really went fully down was like, how do I just make this happen for like, so it's like default within my steam system settings.

7:36And so I went down a rabbit hole watching YouTube videos. It's not as easy as you'd want it to be. Okay. It's, it's, there's a lot of per game. You got to change this, change this, whatever. But there is one man on YouTube that I forget his name. I think it's flip stick who is obsessed with this and is trying to crack the code and figure it out. So he's playing every single game and figuring out what settings you need to change to make it work perfectly with gyro and i'm like i love this man started watching youtube videos and then he brings up forza horizon 6 and i'm like what does that even look like apparently there's an entirely different type of gyro controls for racing games versus shooting games where you hold the controller

8:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:more up as opposed to using it like a wheel yeah like mario kart on the wii yeah and you're like why would i ever want to do that that sounds like a disaster well you might want to do it when the cars and controls are finely tuned to feel like you're actually driving not like mario car yeah so you i booted it up this guy has a controller um like you know in steam you can go to like community controller setups yeah and just like download them or whatever did that you can find this one dude's you go into settings you change one setting and then it just works it was a religious experience really i'm cruising in my car and all of a sudden it was like this feels a little weird for a second it clicked within like 10 seconds and i was like oh my god it was the most immersive thing it was better than any steering wheel i've ever experienced and i've played with so i'm not a fucking pro sim racer so i'm sure there's sim racers out there that are like but even then sim racers i watch videos they're like this is the truth man this might be the future wow okay super easy to try so if you have a dual sense if you have a steam controller i don't know if it works with the the series uh elite controller i don't think they have the gyro i'm not sure yeah but i know it works with dual sense and steam controller because i I use both of them, but super easy to set up.

9:24You can, if you have Forza, it'll take you five minutes to set this up and give it a shot. And I think you're going to be like, oh my God.

9:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:See, now you're making me. It's kind of cool, dude. I got it. I got Forza on Xbox because I like playing that on my console. Yeah. Is there a way? I don't know. When you play Forza via the Xbox app on your PC, can I plug in a DualSense and play with that? I imagine so. Yes. But then I won't get the Steam profile. Yeah, exactly. Somebody must have figured it out. If there's a way to figure that out, let me know. I had a similarly fun weekend. Not as, I guess, eventful, but I was telling you before the show, I watched Casino Royale, the Bond movie. Let me tell you, quality film. Oh, yeah. Really, really good.

10:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm so Bond. What a bad guy. What a bad guy. Probably one of my favorite poker scenes, if not my favorite poker scene in a movie. I can't think of many other ones. But that poker scene had me like, yo, this could have been the whole movie. The cast of that movie, man. Dude. fucking mads mickelson incredible they had jeffrey i didn't even realize jeffrey wright was in this movie my guy felix god damn that movie yeah vesper like that one that that has me locked in like i might be on the train now to watch the rest of the bond movies i told you that like i've already seen skyfall i watched that when it was in theaters and so but now i'm in a new i'm in a new place yeah i know this will be like 15 years it might as well be your first watch if you're watching it now like yeah exactly it's gonna hit very different also beat 007 first light over the We'll talk about that later.

10:52We'll talk about it. Coming up next week, I believe. Can't wait to talk about it.

10:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And I, I'm now, I've now played a few hours of me to the hollower, enjoying it a lot. I can't believe how bad I am at this video game. Really? I'm so, I feel like this game is so hard for me and I can't, I could not tell you why. I think maybe it is. I've never been like the Zelda top down, like style of game person. And so maybe this is just like my brain trying to adjust to playing this style of game in such a, I feel like this game is hard, right? Oh, it's hard. Yeah. Okay. So like playing a hard one of these is like fucking me up, but I'm, I'm enjoying it. Like I think Yacht Club, I've never really got that into Shovel Knight.

11:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And so playing this, I'm seeing all of the things that people have probably been seeing since Shovel Knight where I'm like, oh, they went back in time and made this game. Oh yeah. This game is time travel at work. Like it feels like. With all the knowledge of the now. With all the knowledge of the now, right? Like you have all the modernisms you'd want in there, but hearing it, looking at it and playing it i feel like i'm playing on a super nintendo or like an nes or a game boy right this feels like such a authentically retro game oh yeah i'm very impressed by it shout out to y 'all club man shout out to that and shout out to video game news remember if you're watching live you can be a part of their show by super chatting in over on youtube.com slash kind of funny games remember we couldn't do this with our producers over on patreon.com slash kind of funny so thank you to carl jacobs omega buster delaney the song twining and lax nomad a new patron producer welcome welcome to the family for now let's begin with what is and forever will be the roper report it's time for some news we have seven stories today a baker's dozen starting with our number one asus rog xbox ally x20 bundle includes a limited edition oled ally x oled oled pc and ar gaming glasses this feels like a tim getty's special there's a lot of things here man yeah i am reading from steve dent at engadget asus is commemorating the 20th anniversary of its Republic of Gamers aka ROG sub-brand with a special edition of its ROG Xbox Ally X handheld gaming PC.

13:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Called the ROG Xbox Ally X20, it carries the same hardware as last year's handheld but now comes with a new 7.4 inch 1080p 120 hertz OLED panel offering up to 1400 nit peak brightness and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. It's also bundled with a pair of ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses, so it's likely to be quite a pricey proposition. Asus calls the ROG Xbox Ally X20 a true collector's item, as well as a high-powered handheld. To give it a premium feel, it comes with a translucent black plastic chassis that shows the processor and cooling system along with gold accents. The Nebula HDR OLED display offers a 0.2 millisecond response time the visa display hdr 1000 rating and full dolby vision support along with corning dxc glass with an anti-reflective coating that should provide nice visuals for gaming or entertainment since oled panels can be a sense can be sensitive to heat asus also redesigned the airflow channels to keep display temps as low as possible the rog xbox ally x20 comes with new tmr joystick tech for improving precision and tracking along with longer lasting performance according to asus it also features a transforming d-pad with up to eight-way control and improved face buttons that sit flush uh on the chassis for for smoother thumb sliding the rear of the hand grips also or the rear of the hand grips has a rubberized coating for enhanced comfort and control for a larger virtual screen rog xbox ally x20 is bundled with asus's rog xreal r1 edition 20 gaming ar glasses with a matching black and gold way or gold colorway tim so many of these words feel like they're speaking to you directly they are we got oled we got x-ray we got all my favorite things all your favorite favorite things together uh i mean look here's the thing this looks just like hardware wise everything that i had a problem with the first iteration of the xbox ally x sounds like they're fixing it right uh even having the transforming d-pad that's awesome i love having different options there trying to make sure that the chassis has smoother uh thumb sliding that the buttons aren't as loud and oled that is the biggest big thing like of course is always going to be my biggest issue with uh these handheld devices then you package that with the x-reel this is the new x-reel that they're they've been working on another partnership between rog and x-reel to continue to explain to people that these ar glasses are freaking awesome they're really cool um but there's two things that we you need to talk about yeah i mean the price is the thing the price is the big thing but the two things that we need to talk about are like why are they announcing it this way because i'm a little interested in the focus on the republic or the asus or republican gamers 20th anniversary yeah when it's the 25th anniversary of xbox and this is the xbox handheld how they're pushing it yeah it just seems like marketing jargon is just getting in the way there's just too many letters there's too many things that we're focusing on yep and to what end right is the only reason that it's not the x25 because it's not green you know i mean are we getting one of those eventually oh i mean maybe but i only say this where it's like at the end of the day it doesn't really matter that's the only way that i i see making sense is if we're getting another version yeah for the anniversary because them saying it's extremely limited and all of that a true collector's item it's like all right cool maybe there'll be a xbox true collector's item later yeah um i just feel like it's weird where why isn't this just the xbox or not the xbox the ally you know why is this why is the xbox one if they're celebrating the 20th anniversary of rog you know what i mean is it have they found a lot of success with the xbox ally specifically and are going oh we need to push this thing so that's the thing is this just the new standard going forward which would make sense especially with how they are partnering with xreal and trying to just make this the package and then that brings us to what is the price and what why are they doing it this way it's like all Well, clearly they're bundling with the X-Rail because they know that their audience for this are the people that have just fuck you money.

17:15Yeah. Where they're just like, all right, the price is going to be so high. Let's just break it down to him. Make it clear. This is a true collector's item. And we're going to bundle it with another pretty expensive product to make sure that when we put it out there and it is$3 ,000,$2 ,500, whatever it is. People go, oh, hey, you know what? I don't care if it's not for you. It's for me. I'm going to get it. It's going to sell out. Yeah. End of the day. yeah they're not gonna make that many of these you imagine right you imagine i mean can they make many of these that's the other question right like there's a round of hardware being announced and put out right now that is probably the last round of hardware for a while or hardware's gonna look very very different we just saw um the announcement yesterday of the nvidia spark i think it was like i'm getting into the laptop pc side of things um from a processor perspective so that's very interesting and what that's going to look like but yeah this thing's going to be expensive they're saying that without saying the actual number yeah 100 was it do you find it cool

18:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that they're announcing it is this something that appeals to you as far as tim gettys the ideal person i feel like this is marketing to are you willing to put up let's say it's two thousand no i mean that's the thing is like i they are speaking to me with this they are making the changes i need we're just in the worst place to do that right now like this is such a luxury item to me specifically i have a steam deck oled if i didn't i also don't know that i'm investing in the handheld market at that price point like yeah it's just so high having said that if it was a very strategic investment on my part as a gamer there's potential value where it's like if that is the ecosystem i'm jumping into and i'm like i'm going all in like i have a couple friends now who sold their ps5s and are just pure steam deck because then they're they're console gamers but they're older now and they're just finding their time to play games is in between things and um they also care about tech to an extent so having the oled does matter to them but they have a steam deck oled now so they're fine right yeah this though i do think with all the xbox bells and whistles like and the advancements already that have happened since the first ally x came out or that the xbox ally came out um we're already seeing a lot of advancement it is that weird thing where i don't want to say too little too late because it's happening but i really wish the product launch better than it it did sure yeah and here we are it's all right cool you're giving me some of the tech hardware side of things that i've wanted the software's not all not fully where it needs to be yet it's getting closer um but you're not even telling me the price because you're scared and i know why you're scared there's a cost to this stuff it's like it's not like they're being assholes charging the amount of money they're gonna have to they have to yeah um let me take a peek at super chat see what people are talking about i don't think i see anything you hear about the xbox ally x instead people are asking about uh people talking about 007 just like silver j hawkins it says i'm so happy that i i'm so happy to say that i platinum 007 first light on friday afternoon god what an incredible james bond experience that's great that's fantastic i haven't even looked at the platinum i don't know what you need to do yeah pardon me i'm i might look into it now that i've beaten it i could keep i could keep playing yeah it's not that bad it's a essentially play through the story mode there's a couple of uh like specific things that they want you to do of like how to take down enemies which doesn't seem too hard uh they want you to do some basic stuff with taxim i think like all of the taxim trophies i got in like 30 minutes oh and then the one that's like the most work is getting all of the collectibles which are the only trophies i have left and it's one of those but now that you have chapters or because you have chapter select i wonder how easy that is to actually go in look up a guide of you know yeah everything is i mean i imagine skipping all the cut scenes which they do allow you to do we'll save a lot of time because there's a lot of those things especially like in those big open areas that you're exploring and doing all that stuff that's that time is going to get cut down dramatically since y 'all already know like what to do let's keep talking about hardware with story number two flex strike wireless fight stick the 20th 27 inch gaming monitor uh are launching in august uh followed by the pulse elevate wireless speakers later this year i'm reading from the PlayStation blog.

21:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:These are all new PlayStation pieces of hardware. This is written by Isabel Tomatis on PlayStation blog. This includes our first wireless fight stick, FlexStrike, our 27-inch gaming monitor with DualSense charging hook, which will be available in the US and Japan, and our first wireless desktop speakers, Pulse Elevate. Today, We're pleased to share some new updates on these products. FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick will launch starting on August 6, 2026, just in time for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls.

22:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's built for PS5 and PC and is designed with competitive play and portability in mind. With an included sling carry case and a built-in rechargeable battery, it's easy to bring your fight stick to a tournament, meetup, or a friend's place to jump right into the action. FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick will be available for pre-order starting June 12, 2026 for a recommended retail price of$199.99. That's$199.99. Next up is the 27-inch gaming monitor with DualSense Charging Hook. We've continued to see more players playing games outside of the living room, especially in personal spaces and on desktop gaming setups.

22:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The 27-inch gaming monitor with DualSense Charging Hook, which I'm going to pause there and say that's a ridiculous name. Yeah. We got to find a cooler name for this. I didn't realize it was just called 27-inch gaming monitor with dual sense charging hook. See, here's the thing. I actually argue this is a good name because it's – I always, like, when we talk about naming shows, it's kind of funny. I always default to what is the show? Yeah. Just what is the thing? And them calling it a gaming monitor with a dual sense charging hook, that's exactly what this is. And here's the important thing. Yeah.

23:13The big question is why would they make this product because they're giving up on the PC side of gaming, right? And it's like, this isn't for PC gaming. It does PC gaming. This is a gaming monitor, meaning they're expecting you to hook up your PlayStation to it. So I think they're calling it a gaming monitor as opposed to a PC monitor or whatever you want to call it. Like, this is intentional. And I give them a thumbs up.

23:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm curious. Obviously, we have an audience of hardcore gamers that listen to this show. How many of y 'all, if you can get a pull up, play on monitor versus your living room TV? Just out of curiosity. But play a console? Console. That's a good call. How many of y 'all play a console on a monitor? I run a poll. Or what? He's running a poll. Oh, thank you. The 27-inch gaming monitor with DualSense Charging Hook is built for players who want a high-quality display experience beyond the living room TV. It features a 27-inch QHD IPS display that's 2560 by 1440p with VRR supporting up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro and up to 240Hz on a compatible PC or Mac.

24:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:starting june 5th 2026 uh the monitor will be available for pre-order through direct.playstation.com and best buy in the u.s along with participating retailers in japan for an rrp of 300 and 49 or 349 excuse me and 99 cents now let's talk about the pulse elevate wireless speakers coming later this year pulse elevate wireless speakers share many of the notable innovations featured in our pulse explorer and pulse elite headsets expanding our efforts to make the gameplay experience more immersive through enhanced sound these wireless speakers will launch later this year and will pair perfectly with the 27 inch gaming monitor creating a rich experience beyond the living room for players we'll have more information to share soon including the suggested real retail price and when pre-orders begins but be sure to check back for for updates on the pulse elevate wireless speakers tim me and you had to drive down to playstation surprise everybody surprise we checked out all three of these things got hands on hands on ears on eyes on eyes on tim where do you want to start here let's start with the hands on fight stick yeah what'd you think you're the fighting game poppy yeah so the flex strike wireless fight stick um we got to play marvel token fighting souls with it my first time your first time playing which was really exciting I was really excited to see you actually get hands-on with that.

25:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I like this fight stick. I think the big thing here is that I view this fight stick as an in-between option for somebody who is maybe getting into fighting games or is into fighting games but hasn't had a fight stick before. I think$200 for something that could serve as a approachable, accessible, I want to buy a fight stick. I just want to buy a fight stick and I play my fighting games on PlayStation. I think it's beyond that, though. It's a premium answer to that. It is you're, you're getting something that pros can use. Cause I feel like the easy entry, you want to try it thing. Like there are cheaper options.

26:12There are$60, whatever this, I do think like their goal was to make it a option that could be highly competitive. You know, this, I think more competes with those for$500 bite sticks than it does the cheaper one.

26:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yes. And I think it does in the way where it is, it's in that line of PlayStation hardware, right? So when you think of anything that is like a original, a portal, a Pulse Elite, all these things have a certain level of quality to them. This kind of fits right in line with that. One of the first things I noticed upon using this was that it is very much made so that you can sit it on your lap. It's super light. The surface feels super sleek and smooth and nice. Very easy, very, I guess, relaxed to lay your wrists on that free bottom portion you see. and like everything ergonomically feels just right uh one of the things i like is that this also uses play link which is if you've been using either the headphones or like either the explorers or the pulse or the elites this uses that same thing like one of the questions i immediately asked was like yo can i use the same dongle dongle with this thing and yeah they can all pair to the same dongle which also is a new dongle there is a new there is a new dongle yeah that'll function better and they're also going to push updates um to your existing dongles but yeah you You could have multiple things connected.

27:31So you could have your headphones with one of these. You could also have two people using two separate fight sticks playing together with one dongle. So it all kind of fits in that, which I like. You can play wired. You can play wireless.

27:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You can play wired. You can play wireless. They were talking about PlayLink in the sense that the reason why they're going with that is because they can get the shortest latency possible. They gave a number. I wrote it down somewhere, but I want to say it's like four milliseconds or something like that of delay time, which is really good, especially when you're not playing wired, when you're playing wireless like that. And the thing is, like, people competitively aren't, like, really true competitive. They're not playing wireless. Sure. But you can play wired. You can play wireless, and that's nice.

28:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:One of the things I thought was really neat is that when you open up the panel on the bottom of the fight stick, one of the things they shouted out is, I don't know what it's called, but there are essentially walls to the analog stick, right, where you have different shapes that they can be. You can have a square, you can have an octagon, or you can have a circle. basically like the corners that the that the fights that the analog stick specifically is hitting think about it like a gamecube controller and there's like the the analog stick and then there's the c stick and the different gates that they have to kind of like block it so you can kind of get into specific corners better so depending if you're playing street fighter which is a lot more of like the quarter circle motions that you're doing or something that requires like mortal combat that's a bit more directional where it's more left right up you know what i mean like you're trying to hit those specific um i don't know why i'm blanking on the word right now but like directions yeah yeah uh they made those really easy to switch out this time around like you i don't even believe you need like a screwdriver or tool you really just pop them out and pop them back in and they're included with the fight stick and there's like a storage area in the fight stick which is already very thin so it was kind of impressive when they opened that up it was like oh it's all in there yeah exactly so i thought that was cool if you're somebody who's switching between fighting games you're somebody who prefers a street fighter or like a tekken i imagine might you know you might prefer a circle gate with a tekken for the movements you're doing in that versus in street fighter you might want i imagine either an octagon or a square because of the the kind of moves you're hitting in those games um you have that option overall i thought this was really cool i think this is a really nice product to have out there i thought it was super cool i i enjoy fighting games i am not a fighting game poppy if anything i'm like a fighting game like little nephew you know sure sure um but i enjoy them and And I have never understood fight sticks.

29:49And I don't think this is going to be the thing to change my mind. I was playing against you and I was struggling. Not that I wouldn't have even with a controller, but I was really just like, man, I don't, I can't make sense of this button placement. And even with the joystick, I'm just like, I'm a controller boy. I just have to admit that. Yeah. And I think that's okay. Not everyone's going to be this, but I do think that many of us have, if you've played fighting games through a campaign, you've probably had that thought of like, but what if?

30:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:What if? what if and i do think that this product might be the thing that gets more people in than ever before yeah and it's a it's a double down from playstation as far as how much they are chasing the fighting game crowd in a way that surprises me you know like between marvel tolcon fighting souls being something that they're partnering with arxis with between this between i know they bought evo and then now they've sold evo right but there's a level of engagement that playstation has with fighting games in particular that surprises me but also delights me because i'm somebody who really likes fighting games i'm somebody who loves fighting games even and for me if i already own fight sticks if i didn't own a fight stick i think this would be a nice option to have as far as oh i know i know this thing works with the console i know this thing like it being 200 i think it's low enough for me to have wanted to make that jump like i'm sure there's plenty of people in that situation that would look at this and go oh yeah this might be the this might be the option for me another very cool thing about it that i commend them for is it comes with a carrying case that's actually really nice and i think that they understand you're traveling with this thing like a lot of people that are buying this are either going to take it to friends houses to play competitively because that's what fighting games are yes or they're going to take it to tournaments and it's a very sleek case it looks like a playstation 5 but pretty cool pretty cool tim let's talk about the barrett oh yeah really quick you're bringing up the monitor uh tim was asking earlier of uh console players specifically how many people use tvs versus monitors uh running a poll between both youtube and twitch we had 515 votes in total 153 people play on the monitor and 362 people play on the tv meaning 70 percent of console players at at least in this flash poll, play on TV, where it's 30 % play on the monitor.

32:10Think about that, man. Like 70, that's not nearly as high as I expected.

32:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, and then, of course, we're talking about our audience. Yeah. Hardcore gamers. Hardcore console gamers, I would say, first and foremost. But I do think 30 % of our audience market share playing on a monitor is pretty impressive, and I bet that number grows in a couple years. What's your takeaway from this monitor that we got to see? So we got to see it. We didn't get to spend too much time with it, but we did play a bit of Ghost of Yote and Sorrows. Yeah. Right. So we got to see it. Very impressive looking in our very limited time with it. It is not OLED. It is a QHD IPS panel. Like I was saying, 2560 by 1440.

32:52This is, I think, a very good option for a lot of people that just don't want to fuss, don't want to must. They just want to play the PlayStation 5 on a monitor. It looks super clean. the PlayStation branding, the DualSense charger integration, like all of that. I think the suite of products they have is telling a very compelling story. The$350 price tag, a little high. It's a little high. And I feel like there are probably better answers for monitors out there. But I think that just the branding and kind of like keeping you in the ecosystem and specifically knowing that this is going to just work the way you expect it to goes away for people.

33:28I don't know that this is the monitor I would recommend anyone. Actually, I can go as far as saying this wouldn't be the monitor. I recommend anybody. But I understand why they're doing this. And I think that it's a good product from what we saw. I was impressed by the screen, despite the obvious things that you guys know I would have issue with.

33:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, I 100 % agree with everything you're saying. I think in the PlayStation hardware lineup stuff that they've been doing, this generation especially, this is kind of lower on the list of things that excite me. I understand why they're doing it. And I think it's an audience worth chasing, right? when we're talking about that 30 % of the KF community and you expand that out to maybe the wider audience of hardcore gamers. I think there's something there for it, right? There's an audience there for it that would probably enjoy something like this. However, of course, yeah, there are better monitors out there.

34:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think the charging station does set it apart. Does it set it apart in a meaningful way? I don't really think so. I mean, that's the thing is it's like, yeah, how easy is it to just plug a USB cable into a monitor and plug your DualSense? Very. But it's not presented this way. And we all understand that presentation goes a long way. And they've done such a good job, this PS5 generation, of making sure that all of their products have that specific Stormtrooper with blue light look. And the back of this monitor is what you expect it to be. It's white. It's awesome. I like it a lot. I get it. I wouldn't recommend it.

34:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Would you recommend the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers coming later this year? You know, these were the things I was most impressed by that we saw here. The problem is we didn't get a price, and that is really the game changer. These are something that I think could really hit. We were very impressed with them. I mean, I don't want to speak for you. No, I was impressed by these. They put them down. We were using the monitor, and they're on their sides. One thing that I was immediately incredibly happy about as a speaker connoisseur, but then also a home theater like nerd like i just love tweaking stuff i love even a home theater but then also like desk setup this you can see on the back of the speaker it's kind of uh diagonal like it's flat on the bottom and then right at the the back it kind of like like almost skateboard like tails up yeah uh barry are there other pictures it's pretty much it oh yeah okay damn i thought there was others that showed it the speaker can tilt back and actually live on that little diagonal, which means that the speakers are being aimed more at your ears, which is the biggest factor of sound quality.

36:04Like if you have the nicest speakers in the world, but they're not facing you, you're not getting what you're supposed to be getting. The sound is directional. And especially in this new era of like Dolby Atmos and like 3D spatial sound, like you need to make sure that the speaker position is optimal or else everything's out of whack and you're not hearing things where you're supposed to hear them. So these having that built-in kind of angling was not something we haven't seen before, but I definitely don't see it enough. And it usually requires you having to buy specialized stands to get desktop speakers specifically to be able to hit you where you need them to ear level.

36:40So that was a huge point of impression for me. And then the quality of the sound stage, I was immediately taken aback by. We're sitting there and the monitor's in front of us and we were playing Ghost of Yote and the dialogue was coming straight from the center, straight from in front of us to the point that you saw me do this. I was like, wait a minute. Is the monitor speakers on? And I had to go in there to listen and they're like, no, no, no. That's just the imaging of these speakers is making it sound like it's coming from the center and I was humbled. I was like, oh my God. So again, at the end of the day, these are just tiny little desktop speakers.

37:20I'm not saying these are comparable to my home theater setup, but I miss the Logitech 5.1 systems that they used to have. Even the 2.1, the Z2200s or something like that back in the early 2000s. Like those were never replicated. And I feel like this is the closest experience, the modern version of that. i can see a lot of people having a use case for this and these be the these speakers they go for

37:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yeah like i was when they first announced it i was excited for this right like i'm somebody did not have a speaker set up for my desk and i wanted i wanted that like i sometimes it gets tiring wearing headphones every single time i want to play a game you know i just want to click on and then just go from there and not have to like worry about i guess i don't have to worry about as much nowadays but ruining my hair or do what doing whatever um i'm not in the market for that anymore because i've figured out a speaker solution already for my desk but yeah i would have loved buying this like six months ago even and i'm sure there's plenty of people that would be in the market for this um our 30 percent of live viewers right now that play on their desks i'm sure there's a market uh a percentage of that that would be into something like this but yeah they sounded super quality yep a couple cool things about they were a little boomy for my taste but i'm sure we can eq that uh later and again without the price i i don't really know like i can't recommend or not recommend exactly because that is the the biggest factor there but one thing that I thought was very impressive as well is they have proprietary AI tech in them that can cancel out your voice and there's a mic also so you can play online with your friends and it'll be playing music but it cancels out the sound it's a similar system to how we have things going in the studio so like when Baird or Kevin are talking things aren't like over we're not like getting like over recorded or whatever yeah and we did a quick demo of that where we were kind of they were blasting music on spotify from the speakers and we were recording audio with the speakers like via the mic and then they played back the audio and it was like it was very impressive yes we were in a small room you know that it was like real world results we'll see but like it definitely was like a thing of like man that's kind of nice to the the concept of playing a game without needing headphones on and a headset on you know and one of the things that you asked while we're there that i liked was you know are these things that you can use in the living room like would you could you have connect this to your you know living room tv setup or whatever right and like it was fun uh the way we demoed this because you were sitting in the seat and so like you were essentially at the desk right where you should be i was standing behind you and i was kind of like oscillating like around you know trying to get different angles and stuff and they did say like yeah you can do it if you want to that's not what these are made for and for me oscillating back and forth i'll say yeah these are made for desk like i oh when i'm standing at an angle that they did not sound nearly as well that's the thing like again it's all about speaker position and direction right but so i actually i was thinking about that i shouldn't have said uh living room i should have said bedroom like a bedroom setup right oh sure because i do wonder if you just get them in the right places as long as they're pointing where they need to like pointing towards your ears yeah if you're sitting on your bed like i'm thinking about your setup at home right it's like could you get something going with these speakers like fill the room enough i think maybe like they were loud and and like it was like even though they turned it loud it didn't like distort the sound yeah i was i was impressed with these well we'll see again where it all shakes out but like if they're like under 200 i think that they're that for me it'd be like an easy recommend if it's over 200 i'm like ah yeah yeah i really have more questions for you of like what your use cases are tim we got a whole lot more to talk about on this episode of kfgd but let me talk to you about patreon.com slash kind of funny and youtube.com slash kind of funny games where you can go and get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free and speaking of ads let us tell you about our sponsors remember enjoying those iconic red white and blue freezer pops in the summer now imagine that flavor reinvented as an energy shot introducing the firework freeze five hour energy shot a flavor explosion of sweet cherry, zesty lime, and electric blue raspberry that all comes blasting together for a seriously refreshing shot.

I want to knock out some super chats real quick. Harrison Bon Lesudo writes in and says, Tim, what price would you want the speakers at?

45:19I mean, like, what price would I want them at? $150. But realistically, I think$200 is the lowest it's going to be. Like, I even think about the Apple HomePod Mini. The Mini.

45:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. That is$100. So getting two of those, that's$200. the apple home pod just one of them is 300 and uh the quality of speakers kind of seems to be somewhere in between so i am expecting this to be a 350 thing yeah at the end of the day um lev little writes in and says i'm new to pc gaming are these desktop speakers worth it if not what would you recommend we kind of already talked about it talked about it it's hard to say if it's worth it without having an actual price uh but tim what would you recommend for somebody getting into pc gaming right now that's the thing man pc if you're looking for desktop speakers what i would recommend is a nice quality headphones like i think that is like the correct answer for most people once you start getting into speakers specifically desktop or like uh if you're not trying to get a receiver because like the real answer is i would recommend that you get at minimum a 3.1 system you want left and right speakers you want a center speaker for dialogue and you want a sub that is going to give you the best experience for being able to play music via stereo games with and movies with the most important channels but that's an investment that is like there's so much there but then otherwise I do think that you need to kind of like ask yourself what ecosystem you're in and what you care about because there's a lot of the smart speakers the Apple Amazon Google they all have their own ecosystems and they all have major problems like yeah it's hard for me to recommend any of those to most people having said that if you are deep enough into those ecosystems that is the only thing i would recommend uh and finding ways to connect like if you have a macbook for example the homepods are a great answer um if you have windows pc the homepods are a terrible answer um desktop speakers i've been out of that game too long i don't i don't think that there are super high quality desktop speakers out there right now that I would recommend.

47:26Any that I've experienced, I'm like, these aren't it. Hopefully these PlayStation ones change that. But there are amazing monitors is what they call them that are more for like music production. And I would look into that, but they start getting a little beefy. The KEF speakers are something I would recommend. The Kanto desktop speakers, K-A-N-T-O. That's what I have at home. But at that point, we're getting more into music production speakers as opposed to desktop speakers.

47:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And I'll bring in just a couple more. uh reagan writes in and says birthday tax turned 30 on the 30th and spent it in a cabin with the most lovely people two hours outside of seattle playing games thank you kind of funny for being there throughout my entire 20s and here's to my 30s having more happy birthday that's awesome birthday uh then one more from kebabs who says happy pride month everyone i'm gender fluid happy pride month happy pride month kebabs and everyone let's talk about xbox story number three xbox ceo calls ps5 logo decision a miss and promises to rethink game showcase policy this is andy robinson at video games chronicle xbox ceo asha sharma has called the decision to include rival platform logos in its upcoming showcase a miss in response to fan backlash on friday xbox's leadership team discussed plans for its upcoming annual summer game showcase which is due to take place on Sunday, June 7th.

48:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:In a podcast published on the official Xbox channel, Chief Content Officer Matt Booty was asked if the showcase would continue its transparency regarding which platforms featured games will be released for. Typically, first-party game showcases like Nintendo Direct and PlayStation's Day to Play don't mention rival platforms in the game trailers they show, leaving viewers to find out later which console games are actually being released for. However, Xbox has broken the trend in recent years alongside its push toward a multi-platform release strategy and clearly signposted when revealed games are coming to PS5 or Switch 2.

49:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Speaking during the Xbox podcast, Booty confirmed the policy of transparency would continue, quote, We'll be very clear about which platforms the game is coming to and want to continue the precedent, he said. I think we've got a good system going where we make it clear in showcase, end quote. However, not all Xbox fans were pleased with Booty's comments, with some suggesting that the game showcase should focus on Xbox platforms rather than mention rival consoles. Prominent Xbox influencer, Hobrill, wrote, quote, I feel like the bare minimum expectation many had was for Xbox to really focus on their own platform, at least for the time of the showcase, end quote.

49:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:seemingly this sentiment was significant enough for xbox's new leadership team to notice as by friday evening ceo sharma published an apology and claimed the policy would be reviewed quote seeing the feedback on logos she wrote it was a miss and i own it we're taking sorry we're talking about how we adjust for future xbox shows end quote not everyone agrees with the potential u-turn however glhf content director kirk mckeon wrote quote i'm not sure pivoting based on the whims of a few militant fans is the best idea end quote ign journalist ryan mcafree added a quote is doing is doing what sony does really any more helpful to gamers though meaning pretend a game doesn't exist on other platforms on your showcase when in fact it does who does that help question mark them doesn't help me i'll tell you that wait what does it help you just not when they don't all the information i mean look especially like thinking about us and our jobs and what we do it is so infuriating when we don't when information facts are omitted from the trailers right like i i can't imagine that anybody here at kind of funny would have an opinion different then and somebody correct me if i'm wrong every trailer for a game in any showcase should have all the platforms it's on at the end i would love that yeah because those are just facts of what's happening yeah right like that is something that all of us should want and the fact that playstation doesn't do it it's like y 'all that's fucking annoying and that's not even bringing in to them leaving out information and putting out a blog later playstation can barely include information that pertains to them exactly so it's like that's that's all like but i'm literally just talking about like the platforms that a game is coming to because of the publisher publishing them right i understand people not wanting to promote other platforms in their own showcases like that does make sense to me but it also doesn't with the the state of where we're at with games and just the facts of where games are and even with playstation putting things like horizon on switch 2 and uh with all of their experiments with putting things on steam pc it's like yeah everyone's tried a bunch of things but i feel like we've all experienced enough of this and the big hardware developers and the first parties have all maybe not all even nintendo though to an extent with even its mobile uh offerings and stuff everyone's dabbled in other yards enough that it's just like yo like the the jigs up we we can't play this like walled garden bullshit anymore like i don't think it makes any sense yeah i agree wholeheartedly there i my bigger takeaway from this is i think xbox leadership particularly asha sharma is way too on twitter why are we why do we keep looking to twitter for making our own business decisions of how we operate like i understand i think fan feedback is important i think audience and community feedback is important i think what they're doing with the whole uh feedback form that they launched the this last few weeks right i think that's really good i think responding to people on twitter particularly and giving them a voice is kind of i don't think that's the right move yeah i think that i mean i i don't disagree with the sentiment that you have i do think that like just focusing specifically on the twitter of it it's like well that's not where the source of this global whatever came from no it is it is it was forums like it was on a on a but i think she responded on twitter she responded to someone on twitter she's responding to a discourse that's happening like i am sure that xbox within the communications team like there's in the same way that we have a slack when something's going on and it's just like ah there's this drama maybe you don't have to deal with those it's more of a me and joey thing but like it's like you know there's always a conversation about like do we need to deal with this do we not need to deal with this type stuff and with where xbox is at right now they're trying to be more transparent about dealing with that stuff yeah them saying here like directly this isn't a response to the stuff they said on their own channels from matt booty being like we want to be clear we want to do this and then people are upset and now they're saying that we're going to uh look we're gonna see the feedback it was a miss i own it we're gonna talk about how we adjust for future xbox shows we'll see what that means right that doesn't mean that they're going to i hope they don't but i can see them doing it because playstation does which is freaking stupid yeah um but her being on twitter and stuff it's like i don't know i don't see that as that bad i it results in a bunch of annoying headlines but at the same time it's like that's just where they're at right now is them trying to see where the xbox communities are yeah i think the xbox community on twitter specifically and not even just the xbox community the gaming community place a community whatever community on twitter specifically is bad faith a lot of the time like most a lot of the time yeah bad faith um and annoying right and like i the question i would say is why do people care so much about the logos right to bring it back to the me and you thing of like man i wish every company would include all the logos and all their showcases that's a fan forward like way of thinking that's us being audience members going man it's way more convenient for us to know where these games are coming why are people invested in logos online they're invested because they're invested in the business of xbox and the business of these different companies and they're invested in the brand and team sports of it all yeah and it's and we i for me the giving them the voice giving them the the time of day is validating them a lot of time right but i also i mean i do think that business wise it's like the people that care about the brand the most should be the brand themselves and so it's like i i just see this again this all comes down to there's like what i think as a consumer myself and as somebody with a mic in front of me and what i'm saying which is i think logos should be on everything but i also think that if xbox is serious about trying to be xbox and trying to all compete in the console space which that every statement they've made in the last couple months is that it's like yeah they need to listen to stuff and they do need to figure some of this stuff out and i if i if that's the strategy i would get rid of logos because that's that's how this game is played but should they play that game no but that's how the game is played but does that actually translate to uh marketing to normal as people which is the market that they need to actually penetrate other than you know by listening to i'll say it like gamer reactionaries on twitter but there's the gamer reactionary side and then there's just the playstation side that's actually successful and doing it and how are they doing it they're doing it without showing logos of other people yeah it's like i feel like the thing i agree with that people getting caught up in the reactionaries don't worry about that shit but worry about the brand my so i agree with you and i disagree i agree in the sense that i think you're right they probably that probably is the step they should take right like if we're if especially if we're kind of leaning back toward the exclusive exclusivity of it all right yeah get rid of the logos and the thing playstation does it nintendo does it right like that is the norm i don't actually care if they do that i think that's fine it works for us better if the logos are there but i don't really care that much the framing of this is them responding to the community though like this is asha sharma responding to global saying um you know this was seeing feedback on logos it was a miss and i own it yada yada that's not them speaking internally that's them communicating to people that are reacting seeing the feedback and telling them specifically i hear you i see you we're going to take you're going to take in your feedback from something that's none of your business why the fuck do you care about the logos like that's where i come from i mean yeah i get it i just i think that like they care because they care about their system and they're being told that their system is something that the people care about and i don't know we haven't seen that we're seeing torn visions from xbox and i want to see united front or i want to i genuinely i want to see them talk less like on social media i know we go back ain't gonna happen they should though and i know it's not gonna happen but like man i feel like we're when i see the amount the amount and the type of engagement that Xbox chooses to give on social media it gets to the point at times where it's cringe and eye-rolly to see the kind of people that you guys let in to see the kind of people that you talk to I think that's why Nintendo and PlayStation there's a level of non-engagement that I know we complain about but honestly it's probably the right decision don't talk to the gamers the gamers are not the gamers are going to steer you wrong like I don't think it's a battle worth engaging in because twitter in particular but the internet has just been steered in such a bad place as far as what the gaming community has turned into a lot of the time and there's plenty of good communities you can find out there i don't think the wider twitter community is one of them yeah i look at it as i'm like there's ideas they're good or bad who's saying them it's like i feel like we're focusing on the wrong things here i agree that like them being here and saying this it's like it's i really it's cringy why are they doing this i would not have said this if i was australian i would not have said it was a miss that is the part that i think is the most like oh god yeah because now it's all right cool well if you don't change these things these people are now angry yes so you you fucked up but they just need to commit to the vision man that's been their problem for 15 years we haven't seen it we've seen a commitment and then derailing and where we're at right now i'm like we're going to continue to see more transparency more talking on social media until it doesn't exist.

59:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I want the transparency. I just don't want it to be in response to Twitter people. And a vision being swayed by a certain sect of people. If you're going to stick to a vision and you have that, be confident in it. I think that's why we're still seeing a split on the vision where Matt Booty comes out and says this thing, and then Asha the next day comes out and is like, no that was actually stupid of us to even talk about in a positive light right um and i think letting you know the the ears of hardcore fanboys or letting the the voices of hardcore fanboys sway your direction is also going to lead to continue split visions i'm sure let's move on to story number four official balder's gate 2 remake reportedly is in development at Wizards of the Coast.

1:00:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This is Wesley Yenpool at IGN. An official Baldur's Gate 3 remake is reportedly in the works. PC Gamer reported that it is likely that Bioware's Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 will both get remakes ahead of the release of Baldur's Gate 4. The publication said former Bioware developer and Baldur's Gate 2 co-lead designer Kevin Martins is working on the remake. There is the suggestion both remakes will launch together. Wizards of the Coast parent company Hasbro told IGN, quote, we do not comment on speculations or rumor and quote tim me and you do comment on these things we do we do all the time all the time speculate um cool that does make sense right like i feel like with the success that balder's gate 3 had it is such a clear example of a franchise that had fans before but now has the mainstream right like it's people weren't playing balder's gate one and two the way that they played three right that was the breakthrough so giving the massive audience that that franchise now has an opportunity to go back and play hopefully definitive editions of the previous games they're going to print money yeah especially for like a baller's gate 2 i know is a classic right and so being able to look at a game that they know was a bona fide hit back in the day and giving that a new coat of paint really good really curious to see what the future of balder's gate the franchise is from here now that um what's the divinity studio that worked on it is not working on it anymore i forget the name of the studio i don't know why larian that's what oh yeah now that larian's not making baldur's gate like you are in a really interesting places wizards to look and figure out who is going to follow that up how do we continue to create a level of quality that we just had with the previous project because larian is one of a kind oh yeah yeah for sure to find somebody that's going to compare to that um felix says why go back to bg2 instead of making something new like bg4 they are and the last thing is again they'll get there for sure i do think that we're just in this era where these remakes are important to continue to fund things and to be able to put new products out where there's not a 10-year gap between things right like we see it so much with with capcom we see it with square um and i think we're gonna start to see it a lot more i mean we've seen it with konami a lot recently too that would make sense for a lot of these classic titles yeah and it's good for everybody involved right like isn't for me i'd like to see what a modern Baldur's Gate 2 looks like, right?

1:02:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Check it out. See other people check it out. See other people, you know, continue to play more games in the franchise and then get Baldur's Gate 4, hopefully not that long after. Really quick, Chats are already calling it out, but shout out to the Wizard of the Coast Union Vote today. Because they're trying to Union bust and it's not great. So, thinking about those workers there. Good call out, Barrett. Story number five, Lucy James has quit GameSpot. I'm pulling directly from bs uh tim that's called blue sky blue sky i don't know if you knew about that my favorite place lucy james posted this morning some news for me i quit game spot to launch something new introducing at looking for dot game an independent weekly newsletter where i highlight upcoming pc games and deliver demo codes straight to your inbox you can sign up at looking for dot game she follows that up by saying i'm thrilled to partner with jeff keely and player dot gg to build something that combines curation community and of course awesome games if you ever commented slash emailed thanking me for recommending a game this one's for you plenty of lucy ass games rex incoming the little heart hands emoji uh congratulations lucy james hell yeah man she crushed it at game spot for so many years yep and uh over a decade and uh her importance there cannot be understated she led teams very well she was the face of the company for very long uh her time on podcast was some of the best that the site ever had um obviously she crushed it there also she's amazing outside of there and she's already proven that with friends per second and hosting summer game fest hosting summer game fest like she is a good friend of ours obviously but she's an amazing person and very talented and i think that her working more and more with jeff is only a good thing um and i can't wait to see her find success here just like she always does yeah yeah like i i think her leaving game spot i it feels like the end of end of an era of course for lucy also end of an era for game spot right like that's such a lucy like you mentioned has such an iconic role there so to see her move on uh is pretty wild then there's also a big conversation of jeff and like how he's been moving because you know he brought on christopher drink to do the game business is uh partnering with lucy here it feels like he's doing more and more things i forget there's like another thing that's happening i think in conjunction with summer game fest well even i mean just like from on the production side uh bringing in kyle bossman back in the day kyle bossman yeah continuing to work very closely with him on all the things it's like jeff is a smart guy jeff knows what's going on in the industry from the media perspective and then also from the business perspective and everyone can have their opinions of him one way and another and i get that but when it comes to what he does with the platforms that he has it's like it's very impressive to see people be able to put their money where their mouth is and fund projects like this that i think will find success and jeff has i think a really good track record now of identifying extreme talent and partnering with them specifically like between a kyle bosman between a Lucy between a Sidney Goodman like Jeff has good taste in people that know how to make content well and Christopher Drink not to leave you out too like yeah Jeff can identify Jeff knows how to identify talent and then uplift that talent very well we've talked to him a couple times and nothing's ever happened it really does say a lot I mean they put me in the whole uh whatchamacallit the upcoming the future games whatever that thing was called that I was in but that that went well you're the draw bless i am the draw i am the draw i am the draw it didn't go well story number six state of play special alamo draft house menu has leaked yes andy james has done it this is from sammy barker at push square i'm gonna pause here and go i'm still not sure if this is real i saw this pop over the weekend and i cannot find the original original source oh that's really funny so like part of me wants to believe that somebody who listens to this podcast just made it themselves uploaded it and it's tricked the internet uh push square writes one thing we're not too upset about leaking is the special menu at alamo draft house showings of the broadcast you may recall this is the first day to play to be beamed to theaters across the united states and while sony does technically own the chain that's still a big deal of course the signature feature of the cinema is its food and somehow the special marvel's wolverine themed menu has leaked online we're not entirely sure of the source of this one but nico partners analyst daniel ahmad's social media post about it is the one that's gone viral and daniel mod again just posted it said can't believe it leaked already which doesn't lead me to believe like where can somebody find the true source well i mean or is daniel mod just memeing is daniel mod he's memeing he's memeing okay well yeah just because like he just he's just memeing about like normally people leak the lists of like all the games sure i think but does the meme go further than that does the meme go further than that does it go into making savage sticks and is the i'm a little lost here hold on are we questioning right now the validity of this special menu yes yes oh shit that's what i'm saying is that hilarious i the article goes on to mention that like they're not entirely sure of the source of the menu they were just they just saw the daniel mod tweet and went oh this is real okay but why would someone fake this?

1:08:00Because the whole reason someone would fake it is if it would reveal anything. This doesn't reveal anything. It's true. This is real. Or someone's fucking with Andy.

1:08:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:My theory is somebody's fucking with Andy. But if someone was fucking with Andy, there'd be something to fuck with Andy. This, this there's not like, the fact that this is only Wolverine. When I saw this over the week, I was like, this is probably the real thing because yeah, if someone were to make a fake one, they would do like games that have not been announced type of shit they would do a god of war pizza or something like that the menu items are as followed you can get the savage sticks for 12 that's warm pretzel sticks coated with garlic basil oil that sounds really good you got rage pizza for 20 bucks uh god damn i wonder is that like one slice no it's like a full pizza full pizza okay i forget how big it is but or maybe it's like a personal pan thing uh last the last stand which is a san marzano sauce pepperoni bacon pork uh sausage roasted mushrooms signature cheese blend and parmesan topped with a ranch drizzle i like that no i read the wrong thing that's a rage pizza which makes more sense i was like that's a weird drink the last stand is a wheatley small botched vodka mr black cold brew coffee liqueur okay cold brew coffee all right cool and a mutant instinct crown royal canadian whiskey illegal illegal mezcal lime pineapple gum syrup tim what you ordering none of this but this just feels so boringly real to me i i'm leaning toward yeah this is real i'm just i just don't if somebody ai'd this if somebody fake this i want to talk to your mother where did they go wrong because my theory was just that they're fucking with any because wasn't the whole this isn't enough to fuck with any the point of any being fucked with would be if any's theory is that the freaking menu was going to reveal something this doesn't reveal anything i thought andy was making jokes of like oh yeah you're gonna have the fucking wolverine breadsticks or whatever yeah but like but he was also saying like what if it accidentally reveals other games that we don't know are gonna be at the thing right yeah like some intergalactic reference or some gabe logan reference you know okay i don't want to eat gabe logan i don't want to eat gabe logan you want the last stand i want to try no that sounds just both of those strengths sound really gross i'm gonna be honest tim it'd be big news if this had a grand a grand turismo okay you know what i mean yeah a little saw roasted beef you know of that yeah roasted beef a little uh

1:10:43you were thinking it's so hard you were thinking it's so hard about connecting i was trying to lock

1:10:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:in those would be huge food items to be included on this list but i if i wanted something smaller say some uh so calm maybe you know i got nothing you were close you were close you go to our last story the we news channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about another andy thing that i want to say is uh if y 'all watched our every game coming in june games cast which if you haven't you need to at least watch the first 10 minutes because andy has a breakdown making the thumbnail he put the control um what's it called remnant control resident resident control resident character on the thumbnail and we're like what the fuck that game's not coming out in june and he's like i thought it was coming out like june 30th i saw thing saying it was coming out and he couldn't find that thing gaming leaks and rumors posted that image so and he's not crazy yeah it was posted this june 30th hilarious i mean all the way to the top everyone crazier things have happened summer game fest coming soon our predictions happening right after this uh sir number seven is we news the next minecraft movie is titled a minecraft movie squared get hyped everybody from video games chronicle a u.s bill designed to stop paid games being terminated and being made unplayable in the future has passed its initial vote the protect our games act which was proposed by california assemblyman chris ward was put to a vote at the california state assembly where it won with a vote of 43 to 16 cool stuff among us will have some very special things to show you during summer game fest uh they posted on bs that's blue sky tim from vgc the pokemon company has announced its 30th anniversary trading card game set which will launch in september every 30th celebration booster pack will also include one of 30 unique foil cards featuring Pikachu, each illustrated by a different artist.

1:12:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:A new rarity will also debut in the set, Futuristic Rares. Mew and Mewtwo will be the first two Pokemon to feature the new rarity. I am so happy. Really cool. I'm just absolutely thrilled because I do not want these. I'm looking at that Mew and Mewtwo and I'm like, I hate you. Thank God. I do not want these cards. Am I going to end up being a sucker? Pikachu stuck in the fucking stairway. Here's the thing. There's 30 Pikachus. I'm talking shit They got me I'm a sucker for anniversary sets But this doesn't hold a candle To the 25th anniversary set I am looking at this like I don't know I do like the Pikachus Go to the Mew and Mewtwo I think it's towards the end of the trailer Right there I'm good I'm good Futuristic rare It could be worse It could be so much better yeah i agree with that they give a buy you know when they did like kind of like the 3d animation style from time to time in like those first couple of movies that was really cheesy even for the time it feels like it harkens back to that a little bit which i kind of fuck with i kind of see the vision but yeah it's a lot more from vgc former nintendo executive david yarton has published a thriller novel inspired by the handheld wars of the nintendo ds era and a real life scandal Game Trap is available to purchase now and is described as a gripping financial thriller set against the backdrop of the 2005 era games industry with Nintendo going up against a fictional Vantix handheld.

1:14:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That sounds kind of cool. Listen, I mean, do we want to do a book club? Like, that sounds pretty dope. And then finally, Tekken 8's game director, Kohei Ikeda, has announced he's quit Bandai Namco. Wow. Which is crazy because Harada just quit Bandai Namco not that long ago. Wow. so who's directing this game what's going on here yeah what's what's happening and that is it for we news um let's hop into super chats before we get out of here real quick tj kento says wondering how y 'all feel about the draft house now that they have a mandatory mobile phone ordering i've never been a fan of alamo draft house and at the end i say that as a theater experience i respect it for what it is which is a zoo oh yeah fair enough openness prime writes it says xbox invested people um xbox invested people want them to go back to pre-activision blizzard and build to compete with playstation and nintendo with exclusives i'm tired of digital libraries excuse new gamers are born every day compete yeah i there's i think there's so many different audiences that want so many different things out of xbox um and i think that's one of them yeah i think there's there's a type of gamer that's maybe overly invested into how a company operates and that's where i'm like maybe we don't need to give everybody a voice there you know gerald of rivia writes and says celebrated my one year anniversary with my girlfriend yesterday i got our favorite evolutions espion and umbreon as keychains that make a heart when put together through the goat that's really cute happy anniversary um let's see john john five alive writes in and says i'm an xbox shut and don't think they should promote rival platforms asha should also stop responding to xbox shuds on twitter uh p.s nice cut blessing thank you so much for the cut for the compliments on the cut you didn't cut my hair thank you to my barber for that he's been killing it lately what if that was your barber listen john alive um and then we'll do one more from no shot oh there was one at the very beginning of the show for a hundred dollars ken jr 61 he was super chat and said birthday tax thank you kind of funny and kind of funny best friends for being there during the good times and the bad shout out to the real ones you know who you are happy birthday ken jr thank you so much for being an outstanding community remember from way back way back uh let's hop into you're wrong where you write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it for those watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe um no kebabs
