Nintendo has announced that its next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place tomorrow, and it will be a partner showcase. Nintendo says the Direct will feature, quote, roughly 25 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games from Nintendo's publishing partners. The Direct will broadcast on Thursday, July 31st at 6 a.m. Pacific. Yes, of course. Kind of Funny will live react to this Direct. No, not at 6 a.m. We will do everything on a delay.

Partner showcases usually aren't that interesting, but because we are still early on in this switch to era there are still so many kind of big third party games that we are hoping are gonna come to the switch to there it is right you knew it was popping right yeah and look there's one right there uh hollow knight silk song is tomorrow the day mike minati we call it spoon heaven at giant bomb don't ask why i feel like i have to man i i have i feel like 15 times now i have said i think this game's gonna show up at a thing and then it doesn't but we've got to be right at some point it's supposed to come out this year it's supposed to happen supposed to be a launch game with the xbox uh ally x and rog xbox ally period but does that mean it's launching on the same day or does that mean when the ally launches it'll be there or does that mean right the this when it's when it does launch it'll be able to be on the we're not 100 % sure on that but what exactly what does that mean to be a launch game for just a portable pc thing with xbox branding on it it does feel like there's a much better chance usual if you put a gun to my head yes or no i'll go ahead i'll believe i'll say yes it's got to happen eventually they know there's so much hype i am so curious like why there has been such this kind of weirdness it used to be a fascination used to be kind of cute it's almost becoming a weirdness with silk song like we're all concerned what are you up to what is going I played this thing in 2019 at E3.

14:46I played this game six years ago. What's happening? I am going to go. It's not there tomorrow. I think yesterday we talked on the show about the rumored now yet again leak of what the Xbox handheld is going to be. Right. The thing was like, well, it makes sense then that they would announce that at Gamescom. And I think if it wasn't just a weird thing during that Xbox SGF direct to be like in Silksong's there, I think doing them both at Gamescom would make sense of here's the release date for the handheld. Here's the price. And here's the release date for Silksong. I think it's going to be playable at Gamescom.

15:23Yeah. Yeah. Right. It was a playable at some museum recently. Remember? Yeah, that's right. Australia, maybe something. Yeah. Who knows what goes on down there? So you're not hyped for tomorrow then? I'm hyped. No, no, I'm hyped. I mean, I like Hollow Knight 1 a lot. So just the prospect of seeing that. But again, there's other big games that I think we could hear about, like Claire Obscura, right? I think that's one that, you know, maybe they weren't thinking about Switch 2 right away. Maybe it's actually a little too early. Maybe they aren't able to pivot that fast. But I bet they've been looking into a Switch 2 version like crazy.

15:53I feel like they know. And I think they've been on the record talking about like, oh, well, yeah, we want to, but we're a small team and yada, yada. if i'm nintendo yeah i've i've rolled up with the dump truck full of money and uh yeah hey let's let us help you let us do this and so even if it is just the trailer the announcement that says 2026 or no date i think you get away doing that right other big things like like boulder's gate three you know like that's like why i want to get that running on switch too plenty of stuff like that mr hawks is giving me metaphor on switch metaphor refrontasio didn't come out on switch no that's true i don't think it did god damn i don't think it did i mean i don't think persona of three reloaded either so no yeah so there's yeah get some of that stuff on there sure does switch to update for royal as well make it look a little bit prettier there you go sure yeah yeah i see the chat popping off with hades 2 another one of like well that's right because hades 2 is coming there we know that once it does get that 1.0 release so we could finally get that release date um we may be out on ring which we know is coming yeah that gets a release i'm sure we see that in one form or the other and that um duskbloods the other game from from software right that could show up yep learn more about that there you go that's all good stuff uh over here in the super chats uh jackie son says over under they show a switch to edition of skyrim i i don't i know i just know what uh we're not gonna do that we're not gonna do that no what does this one mean big fresh 37 says greg the man next to you owes us captain toad oh he's been trying to get me to play Captain Toad for a long time.

17:53Thank you. I'm here all day folks. Foxy Steve says I think we see more performance patches hoping for 60 frames a second for Astral Chain and Xenoblade. Yeah. Yeah. For some of those older games like that or even some other third party stuff like like Red Dead Redemption one. Right. Like that's a game I've been kind of thinking about replaying recently and I would love to be able to do that on my switch too and have that that 60 frames per second on there i think right now the only way to play that 60 frames per second is on like ps4 ps5 with some kind of performance boost thing there um but yeah gosh i like all those performance boosts a lot i had a lot of fun just going back to the zelda games like that but yeah partner direct so yeah that's that's where that's where it gets struggling with it right where you want to go out and it's like partner direct is so broad that it really could be anything uh i don't know if it was a joke or not so earlier when we talked about uh silksong somebody said it'll be in the xbox section of nintendo tomorrow and you do then go well what about wait wait wait wait what about it because like right here you got samson l super chatting uh call of duty library including black ops 7 gets announced they said call it has to come to switch they promised the government that at one point you can't lie to the government nintendo something like sea of thieves like why not get that on switch to eventually um starfield is that something we can do on switch 2 that would be fucking ridiculous if it came there and not playstation that would be insane if they're like starfield's also coming but what forza horizon indiana jones indiana jones maybe forza 5 has done so well on play oh yeah it's printing money i see updates all the time you can get that on switch too and i think they probably can why not that'll do really well there also yeah yeah all sorts of stuff that's the thing it's like it is so wide open it could be a bunch of things what if we get more because playstation's approach is really weird because we've been we got pat upon right we're like yeah we'll put pat upon here don't mention the word playstation though we'll get bandai namco to do exactly we'll do all the dirty work you can have freedom wars you can have this you can have hot shots golf but it's all going through bandai namco right so we were just like more like here's proper the rap is back oh my god could you imagine yeah that's i don't really believe that that'd be fun yeah yeah that'd be fun yeah i wonder too about capcom what's their support going to look like again we're talking about these patches like Obviously, I would love to see Monster Hunter Wild come over impossible to a degree.

20:10I was about to say, that thing is barely working on PC. But, I mean, there is a lineage of Monster Hunter games that were Switch exclusive. I mean, they eventually broke out, but you know what I mean? There's stuff there you could do. Does Monster Hunter Rise have a big performance patch update on Switch 2? I don't think so, Chad. Keep me honest on that one. Somebody who was a smidge whelmed by Wilds. part of me would like to like just go back to rise and play that at like 60 frames per second for sure yeah i can see i can see that yeah yeah rise does not have a patch says jg who i believe sorts of resident evil games though that's what i was thinking too yeah yeah remake for remake the big question here i think that's interesting right is that the rumor had been when switch to finally made its debut that you know nintendo had been very particular about who they gave dev kits to right so now what does that look like post-launch how many have they gotten out there how easy has it been to make your games for switch yeah but again like being particular it's the talent they could be were they gonna say no to capcom like right i mean if capcom could be like hey we want to put resident evil and monster hunter on switch too like i don't know if we can trust you we got dragon drive to worry about we'll get to you we'll get to those games yeah so yeah but they might yeah there's got to be some bigger capcom support coming to the switch two relatively so there's got to be at least one capcom thing here okay oh i like that yeah that's a promise wow i guarantee i guarantee a mike winati guarantee i appreciate that that means a lot you can take that to the bank alex frazier says please bring night rain to the switch two i don't see that one happening right because you have elden ring and then you have the dusk blood one right so yeah i mean it's like if you can get elder ring on there then i guess you could get this on there yeah i suppose i mean you got to get elder ring on there first right unless you want to do something cute like a bundle get elder ring and night rain all at one for just 100 i don't think they need to worry about it they'll make the money either way from soft sickos um yeah elder ring will be just see if we get a date tomorrow and if so when it is how imminent that is right it was like a holiday you think so right i think so because like you know first party wise i think they're relatively set on holiday they're gonna have pokemon that trade prime four doesn't have a date probably you worried you worried you're worried oh a little bit yeah it's a little weird we had that whole subway subway thing right i was like i gotta go check i gotta go call game stopper it's a little weird especially because when there are rumors are going to be a direct and the whole time was like it could be a partner direct it could be an indie direct or whatever i was hoping it would be just a nintendo direct because i do want to know about Metroid Prime 4's release date.

22:47I do want to know if we're getting Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remastered like we did with one because I want to play those games again. Too late now, though. No, well, it might not be if this thing comes out like December 31st and there's plenty of time to bust out the Wii U and Metroid Prime Trilogy. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. I just feel like if you're going to get another remaster for 2 and 3. Well, the way Nintendo is, though, those things could have been done for years now. If you see those get announced tomorrow, then Prime 4 is definitely delayed. i think the i think the energy and the flame for four is kept alive by the faithful but it's so small right now that you need to have that game come out and have the switch audience stoked for a new exclusive and a new thing and i think if you would just two months before put out two other metroid games is that isn't can that be just kind of part of the build-up is that just kind of part of like i feel like you have a chance of having people who jump into the old ones thinking not thinking they're new but they're a new game or their switch too and they're like oh i don't like this and they don't worry about what the upgrades were to four or whatever maybe maybe but but contrary to that maybe there's people who are like well i got to play metro prime one on my switch i don't even know about two and three and now you want me to play four what did i miss out on here yeah right all that important metroid lore which is way more important than donkey kong lore who cares what all right settle down there monati because the other opportunity they had greg was to put out dk64 onto nintendo switch online before donkey kong bonanza so everybody could understand all the very important timeline lore uh going on in that universe and they didn't think about it well it's because we kind of started fresh with bonanza you know no we didn't we got that donkey kong country returns hd this year that was this year that that came out still which feels weird right yeah yeah i was shocked we didn't get dk64 and nso kind of because again when returns hd came out they gave us all the donkey kong lands but like sometimes there is like that oh we should release some of the old stuff because the new things coming out that sometimes it's not like that at all uh kyle laboof in the chat says successful nintendo is also arrogant nintendo they will decline anyone if they think they have leverage whether they actually do or not i mean everybody's i love i love it kyle it feels like the call is coming from inside like you know something we know like they were fucking totally would have told the capcom to kick rocks i mean it's definitely a nintendo world and we all live in it right yeah You definitely have to play by the rules.

25:05But if anybody has, if any third party has like a pretty good amount of goodwill, Capcom should be up there. Monster Hunter Rise, again, has to be, I'm sure I think it's definitely one of the best-selling third-party games on the original Switch, right? Sure. Even like Civilization VI did really well on Switch, so they worked to make sure Civilization VII was set up with that stuff too. So they do care about that. But even Hades, Hades I, giant on Switch. so they really made sure that they're talking about hades 2 a ton with switch 2 god i hope that i hope they're there tomorrow yeah because they they released a patch and they were like this is our last patch before 1.0 so yeah i i think a hades 2 release date is a distinct possibility i'm so excited for that i did play the you know alpha beta a little bit yeah early access and then i was like okay i really like this i want to wait for that full release now then really i did the same thing i stayed away from it all i'm like i know this game's gonna be great i don't need to jump in here oh yeah i was like no it's the most sure thing ever uh i of course am incredibly excited for moonlighter 2 i would love moonlighter 2 to show up tomorrow and give a date because they have said summer as well if it came out tomorrow i will flip out just for a heads up i think that makes sense it's now again it's only gonna be like what 25 minutes long that they said and you could do a lot there the way i raged there i thought you were making fun of moonlighter 2 saying it's gonna be is that game gonna be 25 minutes long i'll fucking knock your block off i'll kill you monotic please don't murder me yeah 25 minutes for this yeah so it's gonna be you figure brief i mean assuming they're gonna show a lot of different stuff and i wonder then too how many you know we're talking about capcom we're talking about elden ring and blah blah how many indies are we talking about that are going to really carry this for us that's the thing like showcase is so weird because they can show indies but they also do indie showcases of course of course yeah that's a great point too But the big indies like Hades 2 and Silksong, that is still totally game for something like this.

38:34You know, people say the CEOs are bad, but look at them. They're always so concerned about our value. The value. The great value to our players. Yeah, they say great value, right? That's better than, like, okay value. Yeah, nice. As soon as they can get away with it, they will. Oh, yeah. I think some people thought they had the all clear just because Mario Kart World was$80. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's like floodgates are open. now that's mario karts and i know you could say well madden is madden maybe you can get away with it there yeah madden already does like i mean we really are like to be like oh it's not well what is the deluxe edition whatever right five days access early whatever there's a whole bunch of shit you can buy right exactly and that's something nintendo doesn't do right yeah so generally there might be something but yeah ea just has that route to go through and that's a much easier pill for people to swallow swallow 80 dollars can look so difficult yeah madden 26 deluxe edition is 100 bucks right now on the on the psd they already have 100 skew yeah like what does it matter if the base version is 80 you know what all this talk does do which is great remember when everybody was really upset about base 70 dollar games that seemed like not too long ago that was still a touchy subject yeah now everyone's like 70 dollars great what a steal it's a great value for us the consumer greatest value for consumers right yeah yeah so we moved there really quick i'm i'm happy that this has been the reaction to the 80 price right when nintendo did this we all were like here we go and microsoft was like here we go and then like oh outer wilds 2 do not go it turns out y 'all didn't vibe with that let's dial you back to 70 bucks it was interesting because at the time i was like okay outer worlds 2 maybe that one just wasn't getting the pre-orders and this is like and you know something about that game but it does seem like the whole industry for whatever reason is backing off from that a bit it makes me curious how many more 80 games are getting from nintendo still right because bodanza wasn't that was still that was just seven dollars i believe it was mario card i forget if they've announced anything else at 80 chat will tell us if there's anything i would appreciate that i don't think so from nintendo you know like pokemon i don't know i try prime did i say outer wilds again i'm sorry i Outer Worlds 2.

Yeah, talk to me about World. Did you stick around on it? I'm not a ton. I'm actually not a giant Mario Kart person. I'm a big Nintendo guy, but I've always thought that Mario Karts were, you know, like 8 out of 10s or 7 out of 10s for me. So for me, I'm like, oh, another 8 out of 10 Mario Kart. And a lot of other people are like, this is significantly worse. I'm like, eh, good. Don't make me play this one as much.
