0:43Why not? We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily.

0:54I was so close to like a perfect run, and then I just see in the corner of my eye, Mike just recording me just trying to fuck with me the entire day uh what is up everybody welcome back to kind of funny games daily for Wednesday February 11th 2026 your host for a day Roger McCorney the sexiest guy kind of funny you know the vibes I'm here with snow bike Mike the second sexiest guy you ready to give it to him what it's Mike and Roger in the morning I don't like doing it because I've never seen the show so it feels like I'm a faker but it's our takeover day today Okay, yeah, we're back. We kicked Greg to the curb.

1:28We say you go host a dice and then we'll just, you know, have a little spinoff episode over here. Very exciting stuff. Congratulations to, of course, Greg, Stella and all the games industry for going out to Vegas and enjoying the dice week and have a great dice show. We'll be watching. That is a Thursday night live stream broadcast, I believe. So best luck to Greg and Stella. Go break a leg. Have some fun. Not jealous at all. We would have liked an invite. You think we would like to host dice one day? I influence Kojima. I'm a Yakuza expert. Watch out. He's a Yakuza expert. Mike, what have you been playing?

2:01You've been telling you, you kind of threatened me this morning. Yeah, I'm uptight at you, Roger, because I want you to ride this bullet train. That is my life. Never say that again. Just for real. Never say that. I want you to come play a game with me. But last night I jumped into Mugenics for the big launch night. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We've been having some talks pre-release about the games here in the studio, but we haven't done anything with it yet. And I'm very excited to say that I jumped in on day one. The review scores are very, very positive. And I had a really good time. Get a little tactical on it.

2:32I like that. Yeah, I'm coming hot off of my Fire Emblem Three Houses playthrough. Now I get a super weird, cactacular tactical game. And I'll tell you, Rog, I never played Binding of Isaac. But I'll tell you, playing this makes me kind of want to jump in. You've got to play some Binding of Isaac, bro. So it is that, man, Binding of Isaac is one of the greatest games of all time. And I sadly, I tried out Mugenics for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. Just a little too weird for me. Too weird? That's weird for me because I'm a Yakuza guy. I like the weirdness. It's just maybe a little too gross. Maybe it's the cat stuff.

3:09Maybe it's just the thick line art. Something about it just wasn't doing it for me. I wish I was into it as much as other people are. But yeah, no, it just wasn't working for me. How long did you play it for? Three and a half hours for me. So I will say there's a pretty solid tut in this that takes you about a run to maybe two runs. They really don't take off the training wheels until about run three, maybe run three and a half. I'm still getting new things added to it. So there's a lot of complexity to this game. But really at the core of it is a really fun grid based tactical game where you are going to go breed a bunch of cats in your shanty shack.

3:44You know what I mean? and I'm just going to get new cats and I'm going to send them out there to battle really scary looking cats, dogs, monsters out in the battlefield. It's pretty great. This trailer, every time video viewers can see this live action trailer, it always does weird things to me. They have the hot, sexy cat. Okay. It's the woman dressed up as a cat and it's just weird. It's just a weird trailer. But I like it. Good music too. They got some crazy music going on. I mean, Andy was talking about that one song that they repeat a bunch of times. What do you feel about that song? I mean, you lose your mind to it.

4:13You hate it, then you love it. Yeah, he's becoming. So, yeah, I played a bunch of that, Rog. Hell yeah. Very excited about that one. I'll give it another try, try to go a little bit deeper. But it is a roguelike. So every single time you're going to restart your runs, kind of start from square one, go all the way and see how far your cats can go. Your cats become veterans after a run. So you kind of send them off. Oh, cool. And give them to better homes. And so you start new, start fresh with certain cats. So that's been kind of a cool mechanic to redo. And so we'll see how far I go on this one.

4:44It's kind of cool that we're at this point where like Mugenics has been in development for like, it feels like a decade. Like I've been hearing this name Mugenics. We had a silk song, of course. Half-Life 3 is in the ether. You know what I mean? Always in the ether. Right. We have these games that are like been gestating and like memes for so long. And now we're actually like in the next year or so, we're going to have like maybe three or four of them come out, which is kind of cool. Okay. Really? I mean, I just named two right now. You know what I mean? Half-Life 3 will come out in the next year.

5:10And you know what else I'm excited to play, Robert? My game of the day. Tokyo scramble releases today for$30 on Nintendo switch. Tell me about this one. This is the Xenos have run amok and you have to get out of the blades. This is the one that if you were watching the Nintendo direct with us is the insane resident evil. Dinosaur. No player. No playing that. This is the one that's like one 44 P with game share. Oh, this game is already out. It dropped today. Oh, tough. That's a tough one. How much is that one going for? 30 bucks. 30 ducks. I'll be buying that. Yeah, you will be buying that. We could get you code.

5:51I'm about to give Nintendo 100 when you really think about it. We go Tokyo Scramble into Mario Fever. So I got to get in on that. Yesterday's review that you can check out on the Kind of Funny Gamescast feed didn't sway you from spending the$70. There's something, Barrett, about always having a good, solid Mario sports game on your Switch for when you're traveling. and it looks like this tennis game improves upon what I want. And it feels like the core, the gameplay of Mario Tennis Fever is the best that it has been and will be. And so I'm very happy with that. Yeah, do I want a better adventure mode?

6:26Of course, Barrett. But like, do I just want a solid, really good Mario Tennis experience? Yes, and I think it's bringing that. Well, I've been playing Re-Animal, which I'll talk about a little bit later in the show. I didn't get an invite. For Re-Animal? You gotta play Re-Animal with you. It's a co-op game. Well, you know, I have a fiance. She was interested in it. You know what I mean? She kind of takes precedent. Just a little bit above you. Just a little bit. Have you guys thought about adding a roommate? Me. Oh, you. I thought you were talking about somebody else. That's just a general conversation.

6:56I live there. You do. Then we all can sit on the couch together. An upsetting amount suggests that you move into the rubble that is the basement of the house that I'm in. You're like, I'll just camp. Just camp in there. Fucking Jesus Christ. But before we tell you all about adding a third to my relationship and re-animal, remember, this is Kind of Funny Games Daily. If you're watching live, be a part of the show by Super Chatting on YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny Games. We couldn't do it without our producers over on Patreon.com slash Kind of Funny. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Somme Twining.

7:29For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Rapper Report. It's time for some news. Seven stories today. a baker's dozen story number one marvel's wolverine probably won't be at tomorrow's playstation state of play this from wesley leblanc over at game informer we'll pull up a little tweet over here playstation is hosting a state of play tomorrow that will feature more than an hour of third-party indie and first-party games while it's likely we'll see house marks sorrows considering its launch in April, there's one PlayStation 5 exclusive we probably won't hear more about. That game is Marvel's Wolverine.

8:15When someone on Twitter asked the official Insomniac Games account when the studio should would release more information about the game, Insomniac responded with Spring 2026. That is a bit surprising as tomorrow's state of play is one of the longest in recent years with promised updates about PlayStation's first-party output. With Marvel's Wolverine due out sometime this year, you'd think this state of play would be a great spot to highlight the game once more. But it sounds like Insomniac won't be ready to do so until this spring, which for reference starts, begins March 20th in the US, where the studio is based.

8:53I like that because I never know when spring starts or ends. There's still a chance Marvel's Wolverine would appear at tomorrow's state of play, perhaps as a surprise, but temper your expectations. Mikey, does that surprise you? Does that blow your mind that we're not getting any more Wolverine? No, Roger. Oddly enough, when we got the announcement of a state of play coming this week, my mind didn't jump to Wolverine. My mind did jump to, of course, Soros. My mind goes to Ghost of Yotei Legends that I want to see. But my mind, whenever I think of Wolverine, I think of big showcase title, fall title.

9:30this will be somewhere in the spring to summer window i didn't need more wolverine yeah i agree i my my brain didn't go immediately to wolverine too i mean i think it's a it's a good shoe-in because it is a big game we don't have a date on it specifically right so everyone's waiting for that trailer waiting for that big release date but yeah spring 2026 sounds about right especially when i when we're doing the big predictions for this year mike when i saw i took the pills and i saw the future i looked back at the past and i was like oh wait we haven't had a showcase for like over three years now.

10:01It's been so long between an actual PlayStation showcase that blows it all out and shows you, hey, here's what the future of PlayStation 5 looks like. So I do think we're overdue for it. I don't think that's a bad place to put it, which is a spring 2026 showcase. Now remind me, of course, to the live chat that's watching and Baird and yourself. Didn't we have a special like Spider-Man state of play once where it was just Spider-Man? Did we? Yeah, I don't know. That was the whole back half of one. And they've been doing that in the last few years as well. Like Ghost of Yote had like a, you know, it wasn't like a long one, but it was like a 20-minute state of play or something like that.

10:37I could see them doing that for Wolverine. Yeah, I feel like that exactly better. It's like Wolverine is big enough that you can have its own little 20-minute showcase. It could be the second half of a larger showcase. Yote did that as well. Yeah, kind of seeing what Xbox is doing with that strategy of having a second showcase after the big one and it just being one game, really nailing it down. I thought of Spider-Man and I was like, well, Wolverine could easily get that treatment. Yeah, for sure. And it probably will, right? If you think about spring, they'll probably have that. Maybe they tack on some other games, but it will be mainly, hey, here's the big Wolverine blowout.

11:10Here it is. Yeah, here's the full gameplay and everything. Yeah, and let me just jump over to Super Chats really quick because I saw a few over here talking about some of their predictions. Aaron Lime, Super Chats, and says, Wolverine, Marathon, Saros, Token. nope tomorrow we're getting a new ape escape trust the vision i love it this is the shit i love you know what i mean sometimes you see some audience members that just get it and they see the vision as well and we're locked into like the avatar plane like the ancestral plane and we're connected and yes i see that but no uh talking about marathon like yeah of course like that's that's a marathon is a hundred percent marathon will have a pretty good chunk yes i bet right hey here's the redo.

11:48Here's the reset. Here's five minutes, probably. Maybe, I would say three to five minutes marathon. Release date. Maybe an alpha or beta that you're going to jump into, right? If it hasn't already been released, but it's game time for marathon. Yeah. What's that release date? I'm sorry. I think it's next month. March, I believe. Yeah. Do you think that's going to be good? You know what? I liked Marathon the most out of Ark Raiders and XO Born that we played, me and the boys. And so I'm looking forward to Marathon. I do think that Marathon has an opportunity to seize some audience because we are riding the high off of Arc Raiders.

12:26It's done so well. I think people will be interested enough to now try a new one. It will come down to did the team redesign enough to keep people to stay? The gunplay is very bungee. The atmosphere, the environment is very bungee. I think it's a cool setup. It's just can you keep people engaged and having fun? Especially with the Arc Raiders of it all, right? Arc Raiders has done a fantastic job. But there's room. There's always room for more. There's always room for a different type of extraction shooter. Honestly, the more I look at Marathon, I'm like, oh, this maybe speaks to me a little bit more than Arc Raiders.

12:59Even though I did enjoy Arc Raiders a lot, but I wasn't fiending to go back to it. Something about Marathon, and I do love the gameplay of the Bungie games and specifically Destiny. I just didn't love everything around Destiny. That wasn't my type of game. But this year, we are getting into Warframe, so that's a big deal. So I might get back to it. I told you I'd get into Warframe. I got into one gotcha game, Warframe, and World of Tanks. I did play a gotcha game. I don't know we got to add World of Tanks. We have to find out how World of Tanks is still running 20 years later. Mike has to get to it.

13:32I'm going to investigate this. Mike's going to learn that it's a drug friend. Yeah, it's like the mattress stores that you see everywhere. For some reason, every town has 15 mattress stores. How many people are buying mattresses? to the bottom of this. How does I have so much money to sponsor Linus Tech Tips every single week? Like, how is this happening? My 2026 goal is to get to the bottom of this. I'm going to figure it out. I like it. I'm just letting you know. Personally, I'm really excited to see more of Kind of Funny's 2026 Game of the Year prediction, Sorrows. Yeah. I don't know how much more I need to see.

14:04I don't, yeah. But it's one of those, like, I'm just, I am frothing at the mouth for this game. Yeah, I don't think I need to see anything more, honestly. Like, I just, I just want it in my hands. I want a demo. I know they would never do that, but yes. I believe. Sorry? I think this is April, correct? Yes. So we're right around the corner for this. Yeah, I mean, it's flashy. It's exciting to watch. Like, they don't have to show much, but whatever they do show, we're all going to clamor for and go, man, this looks so awesome. And we're going to be right around the corner. I wonder what they do show because we're at the place where they showed a story trailer at the Game Awards.

14:37They've shown a bunch of gameplay. It's like, do they have co-op? I was going to ask you. Yeah. would they dare launch with co-op we know co-op came to returnal later on how good was that did we like that i know no one really talks about the co-op me and andy played it for a good solid night it was a lot of fun yeah okay i mean i think at its core people enjoy the single player nature of it but there's people out there that want to enjoy this yeah i i do i do think like if we're to have more gameplay it's gonna be like okay cool like i didn't need to see that you know what i mean like there has to be some type of like here's a new feature you haven't seen or maybe it's like a gun breakdown of like here are all the cool guns that you might be going towards here's like what a day in the life of a sorrows gamer with experience wake up open up the game it's like it's a documentary how about i'd love to see more of like a like a true like just full boss fight or something like yeah that's true like here's here's what it is yeah how about some hell divers content sure we got hell divers in the news hell divers continues to go out there and succeed yeah yeah i feel like they have their audience right you don't need the state of play you know unless you have like a big expansion of like get back into hell divers this is the time to do it but i don't necessarily see that of course you have down here the god of war project yeah we're gonna see that we're gonna see something we're gonna see you think a god of war project is for sure i think in your mind gonna happen this week that's a locked well because like that 2.5 d or whatever that was rumored to come out last year and then internally got pushed like i would imagine that's first half of 2026 if that was something they were trying to get out last year uh i do like sphinx writing in here because it is the conversation starter always will xbox show up at one of these starfield of course is the big announcement that you'd be waiting on yeah right is this time like the one that i go to is not old games but i do appreciate the call out starfield would be the right call here but like the one i jump to is hey is it time to start showing like a forts at one of these yeah yeah would you dare show a force no i don't think i don't think they need to do that also i don't know how truly like genuinely do not know how the money works on all this of like i'm sure that would be a marketing agreement with playstation xbox is giving money to playstation it's like they can get the same amount of views if they just show it off and say hey also it's coming to this thing i want to pull in a super chat right here a few super chats actually with kyle labeouf uh super chat and say if marathon slaps is bungie back uh were they ever gone slaps yeah i mean yeah i mean it's got a mega slap for it to be like backpack.

17:04Yeah, I think we got to be rock. He's in a very interesting place, right? With the tail, as I like to call it, the tail end of Destiny 2. The Destiny heads will tell me, no, Mike, you're dead wrong. It's still thriving and succeeding. And I'm like, you're in a fault. It's been a decade, my friend. Meanwhile, when I said Warframe, everyone jumped up. Two people in the chat were like, holy shit, Warframe mentioned. So yeah, you're in the community. So I get it. I get it. I'm the wrong one here. I do think we won't call Bungie being back until it's time for another Destiny. Until it continues, right?

17:34Like, it can't just be a big pop. It needs to be, hey, for the next four years, people are playing Marathon and are obsessed with it. Year of Dreams, oh, sorry, Norm Chacho, Superchasm says, Year of Dreams 2026, give us Gravity Rush. I'm going to one-up you. Year of Dreams 2026, give me Sly Cooper. What the fuck is going on with that kid? Sly Cooper's a great kid. He's got a whole group of friends. They can make plushies. They can make cartoons. They can make a movie that they once canceled. You can do so much with Sly Cooper. He's sexy. people want to fuck all these all these animals they watch utopia watch utopia everyone's talking about this hot fox they're talking about the bunny people want to fuck sly cooper and i'm saying that i want to fuck sly cooper and i want a video game to then allow me to fuck sly cooper he said that i'm saying it all because guess what like this is the time to do it people furries are in it is mainstream everyone's talking about it okay they're in their mainstream and people love it Okay.

18:31People watch Zootopia ran to the theaters. Sure. Of course people brought their kids for, you know, just because they wanted to bring the kids. It's an animated movie, but some adults went there because they think the Fox is hot. And that's why Sly Cooper has, and that's why Sly Cooper needs to come back. I mean, you started off very strong with Sly Cooper. You could have just stopped right there. Well, no, I need to talk to my truth. I need to talk to my truth. I didn't realize that I had to hold that within me. I'll one up both of you. Oh, wow. Give you a, give Mike some hopium here. maybe give him some encouragement to get back to this series.

19:02Is it time to finally see Kingdom Hearts 4? No. I mean, I do love that, Barrett. And yes, every state of play, every Jeff Keighley situation, I'm going to hope for Kingdom Hearts 4, right? I'm going to think about it. I'm going to think about Sora and Ricky. I'm going to think, when will these guys come back into my life, right? Yeah. I think this is summer game. I think Kingdom Hearts 4 has Summer Game Fest written all over it. Yeah, I could see it. I feel it, Barrett. I feel like it's time. I mean, he has the square connection. He has the square connection. What about, okay, let's get back to it.

19:38Final Fantasy. We know there's a part three. When do we show that? That one director or someone or maybe a producer recently said, 2026 will be the year we hear about more Final Fantasy 7 part three news than ever before. Ever before? Ever before. Ever before. Ever before. And that's a lie because they did give us a few tidbits like it exists. Let me go a few more Super Chats really quick before we move on. Zeke Speak, Super Chat says, Chinese marathon playtests leaked all rave reviews. I did see that online. Wow. There were some people talking about it and saying that they really enjoyed it. So, yeah, we got, sorry, Funk Machine says, we got two movies for the bad guys.

20:20Sly Cooper next. I'm fucking saying that. Furries are in the mainstream. Sony's trying to make a bunch of money. Oh, what IPs do we have? We have fucking Karate Kid Legends. That's going to make$5. You have Sly Cooper right in front of you. He's sexy. It's going to be fine. Make that into a movie. Holy shit. Yeah, but you know who already had a movie? What? Ratchet and Clank. No, it was barely a movie. I like them. I like them. It was barely a movie. Two more Super Chats before we move on. More Astro Bot? Oh, the game? Yeah, will we get like a little DLC or anything? I think they're a movie. We had a little holiday update.

20:53I feel like they are fully like, we're done. We did a lot for you guys. Yeah, we're on to the next one. That team, I wouldn't be surprised. When did Astro Bot came out? Two years ago? No, two years ago, three years ago? Two years ago. Yeah, 2024. It was our game of the year. 2024, I think we get a new game from them mid-2028. Okay. So they're going to be moving fast. I mean, again, when we went to their studio and they showed us the pitch deck of their plans, they had four years planned out. They knew what they had to do. and like they're a very like committed team of like we can make this thing we have the timeline we're gonna we're gonna do this i don't think they're gonna take more than four years between projects so we should maybe a tease for the next project then no i think you when they're gonna do an astrobot when astrobots ready you're gonna know it within the year uh again two more uh animotion says not in the marathon sphere per se but damn he's so hot uh what did bungie actually change between september and now maybe just the gun feel i feel like it's the gun feel it's probably like the movement, probably check out all the stolen art.

21:52I think it's going to, they paid that person. Oh yeah, sorry, sorry, sorry. It's not stolen art. I think that's reclaimed art. I think they're going to work on the mission structure and how do they keep you in the game? Because here's the thing about marathon. It was a very quick gunplay situation where if you didn't have it, you were going to get melted and die really fast. I'm sure time to kill has been worked on. I'm sure gunfight and engagements have been worked on. but the big key for these games is it has to keep you in there. That's why our creators did so well with the little mission structure that they had, keeping you going with the PVE.

22:28Hopefully there's like some voice chat out there that can have people kind of be cool with each other, but it felt more like a battle Royale than a extraction shooter. We're going to team up and not murder each other. Marathon very much felt like if I see you, it's on site and it's over. Mukdasa straight to jail, Roger added a bunch of new characters, new shells. I think too. Muckdaw says straight to jail, Roger. That got six up votes. You guys are all going to be banned for kink shaming. And then Zerok with the final super chat before we get to the next story. He says, Roger's right. Carmelita Montoya Fox is a baddie.

23:00And y 'all are right. Okay. Going on to story number two. Overwatch doubled its concurrent player record last night on Steam. This is from Vicky Blake over at IGN. We already knew that Overwatch fans were returning in their thousands with the advent of its new name and story-driven era. But Overwatch hasn't just matched its original Steam release day fervor, it has smashed it, more than doubling the platform's concurrent peak setback in 2023. You remember that Blizzard's sequel unfortunately stumbled out of the gate while it saw a massive surge of players at the start, those numbers dropped in the following year.

23:40As time went on, user reviews complained about a number of issues such as monetization and controversies around the cancellation of the game's long-awaited PvE hero mode. Now, however, the launch of yesterday's February 10th first year-long storyline, The Reign of Talon, Overwatch, the game formerly known as Overwatch 2, smashed its original concurrent Steam peak of 75 ,608. And while we'd already seen a spike in players over the weekend, Sunday's peak of 69 ,135 players simultaneously has been almost tripled with a SteamDB recording 165 ,651 concurrent Steam players overnight, marking an excellent start of the rebooted hero shooter.

24:30Is Overwatch back, Mikey? Overwatch is back in a big way right now with a lot of energy, a lot of positivity around that community and what the team has added for sure looking at the next year with you know the goal of having a narrative that will have a beginning middle and end that will start to kick off a new narrative and bring you to the future that people love 10 new heroes five at the start is a big deal right and of course hearing the steam numbers are high is fantastic yeah i'm always been a blizznet client or a blizzard net client what do they call it battle net battle net thank you uh and so when i see those numbers we always talk about steam charts it's like hey that's not the full picture there's a lot of console players and most importantly i always think overwatch as a battle net launcher game right like that came to steam not too long ago so that number probably is much higher as well if you somehow got the battle net numbers on that but yeah big deal a lot of positive energy a lot of fun going in the five new characters have a lot of fun kits to play kind of some unique abilities some whimsy with jetpack cat yeah so it seems like a really positive one right now what's the best uh out of the five heroes what's your favorite i guess

25:44i like jetpack cat because i'm a jeff i'm the jeff the land shark guy so i do like trolling you i like the ultimate of being able to grab an opponent oh really bring you off the map so yeah i'm gonna be a jetpack i feel yeah i overwatch too if it gets the switch to update i'm in i'm sorry overwatch rather i shouldn't call it it's it's it's it's it's old Overwatch now if it gets a switch to update i'm totally there because this excites me this and also the hello kitty sanrio stuff i was like oh this is really cute like i might be back for i loved overwatch when it first came out i just you know over the years just fell off fell off fell off this is it's exciting that they're that they're able to kind of have this big moment and this relaunch you think high guard can ever do it you know what uh roger high guard did add 5v5 and the players did enjoy 5v5 and it's got me looking into steam db which i said of course don't trust the numbers there's a lot of console players it's just a fraction but it was fun to jump into steam db and kind of look at some other shooter games and like what's going on right now on that space on steam so overwatch with 165k for their peak right now rivals sitting at 112k for just player base over 24 hours.

Read the full transcript

26:53644K was their peak. Battlefield, still going strong. 51K, their peak was 747 ,000. And then Call of Duty, 43K with 491K was their highest. Remember, Call of Duty has bundled everything under one umbrella when you type in Call of Duty. And then Counter-Strike 2, Roger, 1.5 million players in the past 24 hours. That's a crazy number to see when you're talking the hundreds of thousands. And I don't mean this disrespectfully. Yeah. I love it. And I'm so happy for you all. You guys are psychos. The fact that there are 2.5 million psychos that are playing Counter-Strike 2. Like the most, I love the game.

27:31And I have, my brother's like, was a former competitive player, like actually like pro doing the shit. That shit is so fucking frustrating. And the fact that 2.5 million people are like, this is my game is really incredible. 1.5 past 24, 1.8 million was their highest peak. remember Counter-Strike 2 I believe is exclusively on Steam so there is no other way of playing it so that is home base as all these other games I just went over have console releases that's actually a really great call if that is like the all of everybody playing this one video game that is very successful you probably would assume that a Marvel Rivals that is probably what that is when you add up everything at once you probably add a 1.52 million you don't think so Marvel Rivals right now is at 112k Never mind, never mind, never mind.

28:17So, like, I think with Consolated, maybe it might be, if I'm being happy with it, maybe 500K in 24 hours. I don't know about that. High Guard, though, 2 ,399 players past 24 hours. Their peak was 97. I did think that they were going to go over 100 their first weekend. They did not peak out over 100. It will be interesting to keep eyes on that. I don't know if you have, Roger, but they have started to release their narrative for multiplayer storytelling through YouTube videos. they've been pretty flashy cinematics but the characters i see on that screen i don't connect with like i do with an overwatch right so like unfortunately it's not bringing me and going i gotta learn more about these high guard characters but i will give them credit cinematics are very flashy they do look cool it's one of those of like if the game is not resonating with the people then you can't put the coolest cinematics in the world out and people are they're just not going to connect with it right like it's like it looks like any type of animation that you just have no connection with these characters with you have to really like with with apex right like playing that even for the first weekend and loving that like anytime they would do any of those commercials or trailers of like fuck yeah like the you know the lifeline like this is these are my people but if you're playing the game you're not really into it oh and then uh you asked about our craters really quick uh past 24 hour peak 248 000 players so they have a solid base here that is second only to Counter-Strike 2.

29:39So, Ark Raiders is doing their damn thing. Shout out. Shout out. And we are doing our damn thing as well because we're going to tell you a little bit about our sponsors. Tired of the city grind? 32:32We all forget about it. There's a trailer out there and Sly was looking sexier than ever in that one. And then you're telling me there's our show and there's toys. There's toys. What are we doing? Why? Why does Astro Bot have to dress up like Sly? Why does he get to dress up like Sly? And then we're like, oh, this is Sly. Well, Cooper game. Oh, we get Ape Escape inside of Astro Bot. That's fake. What are we doing? You can't just make. I'm so angry. I'm so angry. Mike, you replace Cooper. I know. i think i probably played a little bit of it but not it's not my guy well i know who is your guy jason momoa momoa is my guy story number three jason momoa is set for the hell divers movie and we have a release date this from anthony d 'alessandro over at deadline jason momoa will star in playstation productions and sony pictures film adaptation of hell divers based on arrowhead game studios video game franchise justin lynn will helm and and the pick will hit theaters on november 10th 2027 so just a little bit over a year from now you better we better figure this out right the fuck now oh shit jason moore wakes up oh shit i gotta make this movie hell divers 2's story centers around an elite unit of soldiers known as hell divers who must battle alien creatures threatening to destroy the fictional planet of super earth hutch parker place change productions assad kizalbasha and lynn uh through his perfect storm entertainment are producing mike is this the best news ever i mean it does make me smile right like dave or uh jason momoa well here's the not i'm gonna get to my fan casting in a moment uh jason momoa in a hell divers movie that's a big hell yeah for mike okay but we also sony we have a big moment here we could steal the dreamed of Gears of War movie, call him Dave Bautista, get him alongside our boy, Jason Momoa, and let's just make our own Gears of War movie, Women as Helldivers.

34:32Steal the whole cast. That is smart. That is the smartest shit you've ever said. Steal the whole cast. Just fucking do it. We'll just do it all. I'm super excited about this. Helldivers the movie is just Starship Troopers. We've been there, done that, but now they get scary Terminator robots that they can mix in here, all the different factions. It's going to be a lot of fun. It's just going to be like, to me, this is just going to be another generic action sci-fi movie, right? Like it is like a place to play with. And the fact that you have Justin Lin directing, it's like, okay, you know what this movie is, right?

35:03Like it is very much based on the director and the vision behind it because Helldivers is, you just have the armor and you have the people and then you have the vibe of like, you know, fake funny propaganda that, you know, we're doing that Star Trek Troopers vibe, but you also don't want to make a Star Trek Troopers type thing. You kind of want to kind of ride that a little bit more. What if we get a little cerebral with it? Yeah. What if we go Edge of Tomorrow? Jason Momoa wakes up every time he dies. Okay, just age it. He tries to break out of the propaganda, tries to break out of the simulation.

35:30A part of me doesn't believe that Sony is going to make a real Helldivers movie. They're going to do some weird meta thing like Jumanji. Oh. I mean, here's the deal. He's going to be playing Helldivers. I love this video game. Helldivers created for the PlayStation 5 console. Jack Black is also in it. Thank you, Ben. And I was just going to say, just so you know, Jack Black will be the next person announced for this movie. Like, that is a get-ready layup. He will be in this movie. Kevin Hart, The Rock, they'll all be in this movie as well. I understand of maybe them wanting to distance themselves with Starship Troopers with a movie adaptation.

36:05But I say lead into it. Just give us a modern iteration take on Starship Troopers and lean into the campiness and ridiculousness of it. which I think would be fantastic. Vin Diesel would be great for this. Vin Diesel would be perfect for this. He would be great for this. He would be fantastic. He would be awesome. But no, here's the thing. Anything he touches, he just infects. Right? Of course. He will somehow, not even executive produce, he will be the only producer on this movie. He will be moving the movie to fucking Monaco. He'll be inviting every single person he knows. Everybody's going to be in this movie.

36:39Michelle Rodriguez will be in this movie. Of course, yes. Of course. The whole crew. Ludacris. Ludacris will show up. Tyrese will show up. Tyrese will definitely show up. Bow Wow will get a call. Bow Wow will get the call. Yeah, yeah. I love this. I love this. I think you have a lot of room to make some fun here. I do think you're kind of out of the old man Helldivers had the world in a chokehold vibe a couple years ago. But, like, it's still a great project. It's still a lot of fun. I don't know if I fully agree. Where it's like, okay, so Sony's whole thing. Like, let me take you to, like, the story of what's going on with Sony Productions and Pictures, right?

37:13is that they i alluded to it they don't have properties they don't have film properties that are working right now they have sony they have spider-man right like that is the thing that they own right yeah so yeah but like they don't have things that are like the big property they don't have a jurassic park they don't have a minions they don't have these things so now they're really dipping into playstation that is like their genuine focus of like we're gonna take playstation properties and make them into movies yeah which i think is great that's awesome that's super smart right as far as you have a god of war was big you have god of war they're doing they have horizon that is allegedly being made, right?

37:43Like that has been canceled, re-brought, whatever. But it's like, Helldivers to me does not necessarily scream like one of the first ones out the gate that you got to put a bunch of money behind. I don't know. It doesn't feel like it has, like unless there's like a mass, like a great pitch from Justin Lin of like, oh, I got this amazing idea for an awesome space action movie that's going to hit. Like this feels, screams like something that would be like on Amazon that's not going to really hit or do, you know, fine numbers at the box office but barely make its money back. I don't know. You're right, Roger.

38:12But at this point, they are literally dipping into every property they already have. They did an Uncharted movie. They did a Last of Us television show. Like you brought up, they're doing God of War. And they're doing Horizon Zero Dawn. They're doing all of them. So at this point, yeah, we've already made it to Helldivers territory somehow so quickly. Because we are doing every single one of them. Yeah. Yeah, I forget they made Uncharted. That pissed me off just now. That made me really sick. We're already deep into B-tier franchises now, right? Yeah. Helldivers is great, but we're already dipping into what's next.

38:44We got the big dog already out. We gotta start figuring out Days Gone. They made Uncharted into a B-tier, C-tier property with that movie. In the movie for World. Well, that's also Mark Wahlberg's fault exclusively. Because Mark Wahlberg was supposed to be Nathan Drake, but then they took so long making the movie that he was still attached to it, so he had to become Sully, and then they just ruined that movie. So we're just fucked. But we can't get mad at Marky Mark. Mike I don't think you know about Marky Mark history I hope you know We can be mad at Marky Mark We can be mad at Marky Mark One person who I do want in the Helldivers movie We need to put respect on his name because He was you know he like Brought in the Helldivers universe with Helldivers Too is Craig Lee Thomas Great voice actor Who is very well known for this Took a class from him A year or two ago and he's great and I would love to have him recognized in like the movie.

39:39He's in. Mike's casting it. He's in. Thank you, Mike. Thank you, Mike. He's in. Bear, you want to be in? And he's not in. Kill me off in like the first five minutes. That would be fun. That would be a fun little role. Who plays well next to Momoa? That's the questions. Who's next to Momoa? Jack White. I don't think it's Jack White. I need a badass female lead as well. I need a badass lady. Chat. Super chat. Let us know. Story number four. a new silent hill transmission presentation is coming this week with new info on silent hill town falls from chris scullion over at vgc side note silent hill transmission what a great name for these directs what a great transmission whoever over there over at konami did that great good on you uh konami has announced that a new silent hill transmission presentation will take place later this week according to konami the presentation will reveal quote the latest updates from the Silent Hill series with a particular focus on Silent Hill Townfall.

40:34The Silent Hill transmission will take place on Thursday, February 12th at 4 p.m. PT. Given that PlayStation has already announced the State of Play presentation for the same day at 2 p.m., this means that the Silent Hill transmission will take place roughly an hour after the State of Play ends. Silent Hill Townfall is the latest of four Silent Hill projects that were announced during a Silent Hill transmission back in October 2022. Man, good on them. Good on them for, like, banging these games out. Oh, you're giving me the face. I mean, they're banging them out, Roger. You're scared? I am a little worried.

41:10Okay, tell me. I didn't love Silent Hill F. I liked Silent Hill F. And I know our situation was different. Very specific. But here's the deal. I would like them to take a little bit of time and make these great, right? Like Resident Evil's right now are an all-time pitch of like really good. Silent Hill 2 came back and it's like, yeah, new players are interested, right? And I didn't feel that buzz, that momentum after Silent Hill F. And then they were like, we're going to turn this thing out. It's like, okay, well, you got a good property here. Let's try to make it great. So for me, Silent Hill F, of course, if anyone doesn't know, and it's like, why the fuck didn't they love Silent Hill F like everyone else did?

41:49Mike and I were handcuffed in a room, dressed up as Japanese schoolgirls playing it for 24 hours straight. So we did beat the game like that. So big asterisk on all of our opinions. I enjoyed Silent Hill F a lot. I, of course, was sleep deprived. Of course, I didn't really know what the fuck I was doing, but I loved what I was looking at. I enjoyed a lot of the combat. I thought it was really fun. I wish I played it in a normal setting, but apparently it sold really well, as Rayman in the chat is saying right now. I think my hesitation is more of like, hey, guys, let's take two years in between each of them.

42:21It's less of like the quality of it because i think they have built out like a good foundation other than the uh what was the name of the media yeah the social media one that people just started putting uh kojima's two of those right yeah no i think they had oh yes no they had that one and then they had a like a pt like that wasn't very yeah so they had those two misses but i think those are smaller projects anyway so like silent hill the message yes yes and so for me i think two years is a good amount of time in between these silent hill games i don't want the every single year we're getting a new silent hill game because i just don't i i'm sure it has the juice because it is kind of a blanket like you know fog creeps up anywhere you can do that forever but i don't know every every two years seems like a good cadence for it especially since we have this and then we also have a remake of silent hill one coming out in the next few years from bloober and also bloober is making their own game so it's like we're really hard up right now you know we're hard up right now i'm horrid up not hard up heart no fuck i fucked up we're hard up we're hard we're hard up too i mean pull up the image pull up the image again pull up the sly cooper image i'm definitely hard up when i look at him but we have oh shit that's a better image fucking oh my god the montalia fox come on we have a lot of horror right now we're eating we're talking about re-animal in a second uh i think i can wait two years for every silent hill game um but i'm excited for i'm excited to see what they're doing here if a follow-up at four o 'clock means we'll probably see something at the state of play.

43:46Yeah. And then there's more following that. Well, you never really know. I feel like usually, you don't usually do like the countdowns or any of those things that relate to something that's art, like a state of play or direct. So I'm a little iffy on that, but maybe. I think you see that state of play and then you get the big follow-up after. Here it is. Yeah, yeah. Maybe, yeah. Here's the trailer. Watch this thing right afterwards to do it. Learn more. Story number five. Grasshopper has another game coming this year while physical and Switch 2 versions of Romeo is a Deadman are in the works. This is also from Chris Scullion at VGC.

44:18Grasshopper manufacturer, founder, and CEO says the studio plans to release another new game by the end of the year. In a video statement posted to the studio's official YouTube channel to mark the release of Romeo is a Deadman today, Suda stated that Romeo is a Deadman won't be the only Grasshopper game released this year. Quote, it's almost 100 % certain that we will be releasing one more game during 2026, Suda said. What kind of game? When can we announce it? We're not sure just yet, but if you wait a little longer, I feel like we'll be able to make an announcement soon. Keep checking out our various events, media, and videos like this, and sooner or later, we'll have the big announcement ready for you all.

45:01Please keep an eye out and look forward to it. Elsewhere in the video, Suda gave an update on players' requests for a Switch 2 version, physical release and art book for romeo's a dead man according to suda the studio had hoped to release an art book and soundtrack in time for the game's release but quote it didn't work out in time and people should hold on a bit longer we'll be sure to get them out as for physical versions suda explained we're currently in talks with several companies trying to get physical versions out and we're doing whatever we can to make it happen so please wait just a bit more for this too we'll announce it as soon as it's finalized so we appreciate all of your patience and an update on the switch 2 version suda also noted that work is still underway on trying to port the game to nintendo's new system saying quote we're doing what we can to make it happen so again please give us a little more time yeah it makes sense that especially with the switch 2 version of like that game doesn't run too great on ps5 from what i've played and i've seen what blessing has talked to me about so i'm sure optimizing it for switch 2 is a bit tough um mike are you have you tried a pseudo game have you ever played any of that uh no i have not yeah i thought maybe i'd try this romeo is a dead man this week yeah i don't know if i'll vibe with it or not but i'm interested enough yeah i i played a little bit of it i played about maybe 30 to 40 minutes it wasn't my thing i think it's it's it's one of those and i don't mean this is as a as an actual like this is my criticism of the game it was just a little bit too out there where it was like there's nothing for me to grab onto right like i like weirdness in video games like a kojima where it's like oh there's like a core story that's happening but there's weirdness all around it this game was just so like in your face like everything's going crazy we're changing our styles we're doing so many different things we're changing with the timeline in like the first 40 minutes so i'm like bro i don't even know what to hold on to right now but i'm i'm i enjoy that you were able to make this happen right like i enjoy that you were able to make such weird crazy out there art and i did like uh from the small amount of gameplay that i was able to have i enjoyed it i thought it was fine um but yeah i i'm interested to to maybe check after meeting suda i'm like man that guy is so fucking cool the whole team is cool i'm excited whatever we got in the next game then maybe maybe we'll come back for another gamescast plays story number six a re-animal review roundup we got a metacritic uh sitting at 81 and open critic sitting at 80 matt wales over at your gamer gives the game a five out of five.

47:28Tarsier returns to horror with a rich, meaningful evolution of its familiar Little Nightmares formula. And while it could perhaps be a little more radical, Re-Animal remains utterly compelling, bleak, nasty, and full of menace. Sean Prescott over at PC Gamer gave the game a 74 out of 100. Re-Animal doesn't meaningfully develop Tarsier's approach to gameplay in the little nightmares games but it's grim sight it's a grim sight to behold and a worthwhile horror adventure and mark strager over at cog connected give the game an 84 out of 100 saying re-animal takes its cues from primal childhood trauma and the deep-seated fears that most care people carry through life it adds layers of familiar feeling puzzles and terrifying monsters to a game that looks a lot like a little nightmare sibling with the ability to play the game with another terrified human re-animal is all the more scary and memorable i've been playing it uh i'm about halfway through the game 55 is what my playstation clock is saying right now probably about three hours into the game i would say if i'm guesstimating um i i enjoyed a lot uh especially playing with lianza it's a it's a fun time i think i in my first play session i was like kind of met with like oh shit i forgot how little nightmares games played right which it is kind of like you have to figure out exactly the way that the game developer designed every single puzzle and element and and layer so it's like it's not like any stealth game right where you're running around you're like okay well i'll hide behind here and i'll kind of like juke the guy out and he'll run around no it's like you the the monster is going to be coming in this direction you have to find this very specific place that they want you to hide behind and if you don't if you and your if you and your co-op partner which you know they add a co-op in this one so it makes it even harder right so it's like if you want if your co-op partner is like a little bit off with the geometry and the way that they made this out you're fucked and you have to redo the entire segment so it's a little bit frustrating and i i love the way this game looks it is so gorgeous it is like concept art come to life i i love the vibes of these little nightmares games and this one is just fucking awe-inspiring it is incredible is nasty it is gorgeous uh i just i would love for this team to like really level up the gameplay that is my biggest like critique and like thing that i would love to see from them is they have gameplay they have you know combat in there they have you know stealth but it feels very like hey we're just we just give you enough to just get to the next like chase sequence to the next you know vista moment right it doesn't feel uh as fleshed out as it it could feel and i would love to see what this team would do if they had more budget more time to do something where it has maybe not a parry but like a dodge you know what i mean like you actually have combat in there or you have you know the ability to you know fake out somebody that's you know following you it just feels like very much like this is a on rails experience and if you fuck up that on rails experience that is not very clear you're gonna have to go back to before so uh yeah i again i had a great good time with it i'm gonna finish it uh i just didn't love that i also uh would uh say that the co-op in the very beginning feels like okay we're just adding another player it gets better over time they have some fun okay well now you guys i don't spoil anything but like now you guys are dealing with puzzles in a different way because we change things up so uh some good stuff there and uh yeah i'm definitely gonna be finishing when you talk about going to that elevating that co-op experience do you think that will still be fun with an ai you know solo player honestly there's part of me where i'm like i i would actually prefer playing with a with a with an ai person uh not not no shade at lanza she's great she's great at the game and it's just more of like i i remembered why i liked little nightmares and it is like oh you have to see the vision you have to see like the exactly the way the game is building out like these scenarios and if one person is off like i'm off i'm fuck up or something it's like it fucks up everything you have to restart it takes a while so i actually would like to see how the ai and how smart it is of like if i just know what i'm doing will the ai just follow me and figure it out and then we're good um it is interesting but you can play it either way okay so shout out I'll play it this Friday.

51:37He's going to play it this Friday, everybody. Actually, you are scheduled to play it on Monday as well, so I don't know. With Andy. I'm going to play it alone. Fuck Andy. Fuck Andy. But if Andy were to hang out with you and come to your house, that'd be really big. If he was going to ride this bullet drain. But if I was looking for something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go? That would be a big deal. And I would take you to our last story, the We News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. We News, everybody. Reluded review roundup.

52:07The little trailer we're going to show. Description. Read for heists. Sorry, read. Ready for heists to meet history. Reclaim real African artifacts in Reluded, an African futuristic heist game available now with Xbox Game Pass. OpenCritic is sitting at a pretty 83. Checkpoint Gaming gave it a 7.5 out of 10. AV Club gave it an 83 out of 100. And Gaming Trend gave it a 90 out of 100. Reluded makes you feel like you're a mastermind. and escaping is thrilling, but there are just enough problems that drag the experience down to the point you can't ignore them. That looks really cool. I will be trying this out.

52:43Come to Switch 2, please. According to Bilbo Kuhn, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is being added to PlayStation Plus Extra catalog this month. Shout out to that. And Oceanhorn 3 launches March 5th on April, sorry, on Apple Arcade. And this is a big one for me, Mikey. Might change my life. Subnautica and Subnautica Below Zero come to Switch 2 on February 17th. Now, Mike... Give us Subnautica 2. Pay those motherfucking developers. Yes. Let's get there. Let's get there. Let's talk about Subnautica. Subnautica is a fantastic, amazing game. We got the music. It's a must-play video game. People talk about, you know, like, oh, if I lose the weight, I'll change my life, right?

53:26And I lost the weight. I still have a hole in my heart, right? I found the love of my life, and she completes me, but I still have that hole in my heart. There's something that I'm missing, right? I know what would fill it. If I have... I would love for Sly Cooper to fill it. But the major thing is I just look at Subnautica and I'm like, this might complete me. This might actually fix me. Have you ever played Subnautica? No. Do you know anything about Subnautica? Not really. Okay, good. Because Subnautica is a game that if you, right now, there's people out there who have played it like me, who understand it.

53:56There are people who have never seen it or maybe have never tried it. Go in completely blind. Do not look up anything. just ride that lightning and you will have an experience of a life i think subnautica is going to change my life i just feel it rocks man underwater crafting survival sim game and it's so much fun uh no subnautica one not multiplayer yeah maybe there's a mod but like we're waiting for subnautica 2 because that's multi oh okay gotcha we'll pay the developers below zero It's passable. I mean, I like below zero, but it's like I'm a Subnautica one guy. Well, I will be getting a code and I will be trying it out.

54:33We got a bunch of Super Chats before we end out today. My computer's freaking the fuck out. Clawmaster Super Chats and says, Has Snowback Mike seen the quad god yet from the Olympics? Show me the quad god. I'm scared about the quad god. Is this someone hurting themselves? Probably not. No, probably got incredible quads. We have Raymond Super Chats and said, If KF formed a band, what kind of musical? oh shit that is the quad god uh is a if k formed a band what kind of musical music and instruments would y 'all play what would be the name imo mike should emcee and nick should be the drum line nice i want to be the merch guy i just want to sit at the merch booth that's what you say every time we talk about a live show you're like i won't be on it just let me i'll be the merch i'll dap up everybody don't worry have you heard about the latest kind of funny live event that will happen what's up when it goes down the take my shit emporium will open snowbike mikes flea market I've not heard about this.

55:27All of my shit I'm going to bring to the parking lot. You can take it. That's so funny. Jesus. Remember when you got uptight when I took something that you were never going to use? It was a copy of Space Marine 2. You were like, oh, yeah, I'm keeping that. I'm like, why are you keeping that? You're like, I don't know. And I'm like, I'm going to take it. And then you got uptight. Take my shit and pour him. We got a few more Super Chats before we go to your wrong. We have Aaron Lime says, dip into those older IP fat princess movie, I guess. loco roco anime roll out the old properties whatever something not just the last of us and god of war i mean they announced that they were doing that a little bit not fat princess of course but they're doing uh a pat upon anime or animated show they said they were doing a uh gravity rush animated show so it's like we're we're picking and choosing the most the weirdest ips right now it's like you have the two which i understand god of war yada yada but it's like again sly cooper's a furry that goes around and steals people's shit.

56:25He has the Riz. We have Ratchet and Clank. We can do something with them. What do we do? We tried something with Ratchet and Clank. We can do more with them. That isn't just a glorified bunch of cutscenes from the game, pretty much. We can do something more with them. Wasn't it the other way around? I think it was like the cutscenes in the remake of the original game were all just cinematics from the movie. We can do more. We can do more. Gary the third. I'm sorry. For some reason, my super chats are just cut off, so I'm just seeing the beginning of your name, so I'm just going to read that like that.

56:55Gary the, I'm assuming it's third? The third. Yeah. Katie O 'Brien for Helldivers. She's buff and funny. She is awesome. I love Katie O 'Brien. That's a great call. And the last one we're going to get to is L. Captain22. Mike and Barrett, did you see Skate the Infinity Season 2 was announced? Did you see that, Barrett? No! For real, for real. For real, for real. Shut up. For real, for real. Skatey Finley's back. For all the people out there who don't know what we're talking about, this is a show this is an anime that Mike and I have been waiting and talking about on Kana Anime for years. It's just a bunch of dudes riding skateboards instead of coming to terms with their feelings and just wanting to be in relationships with each other.

57:39They just go shred. And it's so good. We've been waiting for the second season for so long. This was all of my toys. Season 2? Holy shit. Holy shit Let's go dude Hell yeah And then we have some you're wrongs I'm gonna pull that up Give me a second Give me a second everybody Give me a second But I don't think we got anything wrong A lot of people writing shit Oh okay A lot of people writing shit I don't know if this was like No this is all from No this is from yesterday Uh Ba da ba da ba A lot of people saying things Sorry So much stuff Talk to the audience Talk to the audience Okay he's going through it all Hi audience We have a really awesome day planned for you After this we're gonna have a fun gamescast into a Gamescast plays, which is going to be great.

58:20The end of this week, we're going to play Mario Tennis Fever with full motion controls. I haven't played the game. Andy and Greg got the code for our review, which you should check out yesterday's Gamescast. But I'm looking forward to and hoping big things from motion controls. They didn't make it seem like it was. So we'll cross our fingers for a fun Friday Gamescast. We'll have full outfits. Maybe referee Roger will come out, drop the ball, and we'll have some fun. Okay, we get a few that we're going through right here. Burnt screen says basically that the Silent Hill transmission could definitely be in referring to or connected to the state of play because they've done it before.

58:57So shout out. Good job, Mikey. Thank you. We have over switch saying a great one, which switch to update for Overwatch is up is announced and they'll be coming this spring. So that's exciting right there. And I think we should be good. They said Overwatch 2 or Overwatch. Overwatch is coming to Switch 2. And that is it, everybody.
