And so I took a nice little walk. And then played a lot of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. How about yourself? I'm feeling good. yesterday I played more Hades 2 I'm still stuck on Hades 2 it's actually becoming not a problem because I'm really enjoying myself I think that's the thing we're in video game release season there are so many video games to play and I think for the last maybe month or so there's been a little bit of fatigue because I've been going hard right reviewed Ghost of Yote, reviewed Sonic Racing Cross Worlds, reviewed Hades 2 and there's like a level of I'm not going to climb out because I still want to play more Silk Song I only played the first few hours oh man I just started Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 I want to play more of that to get more impressions in all that stuff right and I think because of that I've been turning video games into work but one video game has been standing out among the rest as not feeling like work and that is Hades 2 Hades 2 is such a natural man I want to play this right now I'm talking to you Mike I'll be honest I'd rather be playing Hades 2 right now I fucking love Hades 2 that's what we're all looking for is that fun game that we just can't get enough of yeah what takes over our mind you know what took over my mind and still on top of my mind i tell you this every morning it's magic the gathering oh do you imagine ever since that spider-man pre-release party that i went to four out of the five events over three days i can't stop thinking about magic hell yeah it's all i want to do it's my favorite thing around bro be careful because like they don't tell you this but not even once you know what i mean once you play magic once it then turns into an addiction be careful and be careful because it will consume you like it's consuming me we got some fun news today oh yeah a little bit of a smaller news day that's all right we're starting off games daily 2001 not a light day are you holding your kingdom come deliverance to impressions where are you at with kingdom come deliverance to because i'm not talking about this i'm down to vibe with you talk with you i'm on adventures right now in kingdom come deliverance too i think okay people have played this game they know that it is a kind of i don't i don't know how to describe it but it's a slower more methodical game right there's a really fun, rich narrative going on.

4:22I enjoy the stories. I enjoy the tales and the quests that I'm going on. There is something to it where you can spend four hours and feel like you've accomplished nothing, but really you've accomplished a lot, right? I'm dirt poor in this game. I gotta get to work. So I'm clocking in nine to five at the blacksmith. I'm out there pounding horseshoes. I'm out here pounding swords. And then I gotta sell it back to him. And he's not giving me a good deal. I'm trying to haggle him. And if you haggle wrong one time he says no more and so i you know i'm trying to get my money up less yeah so i can go out there and get armor i need a bow this man promised me a bow didn't come through on that bow and i'm gonna remember that but he did give me a house that i can now sleep in whenever i want and i steal his food on the daily so i'm always up always up always up little does he know i'm up

5:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:so i i played a probably about what three to three to four hours somewhere in that because i did just two streams of it and i i've not played nearly enough to like really get a full gauge of the breadth of this game because this game is gigantic and see and as i'm playing people are telling me like yo you're just in the beginning you're just the beginning and even by the time i finished around the time i finished my second stream finally got to like the title sequence of the game i was like damn dude this shit is only this shit is really just beginning um but what i will say is in that first three hours i not that i wanted to be a hater mike because i never want I dislike any game but there's like a level of you know aggression when it comes to the audience being like you guys gotta play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 to the point where like y 'all overdo it sometimes and y 'all make it so that we want to resent games sometimes they're like you gotta play Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 oh y 'all don't know shit until you play Kingdom Come Deliverance so I start playing I'm like alright let's see what's up I'm not gonna lie Mike this shit has the sauce this shit has the sauce the world the music the vibe is all there there are some frustrating moments the saves are kind of awkward and weird you know you gotta drink a potion to save you gotta save and exit when I learned that that was definitely like the checkpoints very frustrating if you fail the combat is difficult at first the combat is kind of wonky and not fun it definitely doesn't feel like 2025 combat that you're playing in other games it is much more they want you to be slow they want you to be thoughtful it feels like it wants to be Elder Scrolls in the mid 2000s yes and i'm like just so you know skyrim like we passed that you know what i mean like we got past that skyrim give you magic hands i'm just swinging and this game is like oh you gotta swing to the left then swing to the right then swing up on top and do a combo and i'm over here talking with tom tomcat and tom tomcat's like you got to learn how to combo and like homie i'm hitting the combo but it's just not doing it yeah but i'm gonna get it i'm to keep playing it.

7:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's funny because I describe it as a game that has very obvious quality to it, but I don't know if it's for me. I'm going to give it one more sit-down or one more stream, just so I can actually get into the world a little bit more. But the more I play it, the more I'm like, oh, this is obviously an excellently made video game. When I look at the cutscenes, I'm like, damn, this feels like I'm watching a movie. The character performances are awesome. The environments look gorgeous. 13:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:At just under four minutes in length, the dialogue-free animation titled, quote, Close to You sees a blonde toddler taking their first steps as their pacifier is mysteriously picked up by an invisible force. Nintendo fans will note several musical cues from the Pikmin series as the pacifier is picked up and seemingly carried away though no pikmin can actually be seen at the same time some nintendo fans have said the child could be space princess rosalina who is surely set to debut in next year's super mario galaxy movie without any explanation at all from nintendo itself this is clearly something fans are being left to ponder about by themselves though igan has contacted nintendo for more uh mike i woke up opened up social media saw people freaking out about this one okay what what were their vibes um the comments are turned off in this video yes i tried to dive in and be like okay what's what's the audience thinking no comments on this i just saw so what did social media say at first i was just seeing people be like what the fuck like what the fuck is this like nintendo what only nintendo only nintendo nintendo can do this can upload a four minute short that looks like it's been animated by pixar that looks incredible about a baby chasing a pacifier all around the room um i saw at first i saw a couple people being like oh this is obviously a mario galaxy thing but then i started to see the pikmin stuff okay um i saw somebody i'm not mike you play pikmin i've not played pikmin i saw people like um uh acknowledging the pikmin it seemed like there was pikmin music i can't confirm because i don't really know pikmin music like that but it seems like there was some musical stuff and then uh i think during this scene somebody slowed it down extra and showed there was like a thing running in the background stop it i'll see if i can find i didn't see that i'll see if i can find the post but yeah people are like trying to take this apart to see what this is you watch this i watched this twice and then i had to go to reference shout out to youtube recommendations i watched the pikmin short movie treasure in a bottle to try to get a vibe of like okay well they put out a pikmin like mini movie before that was seven minutes long what was that vibe right and blessing I'm still baffled by this.

15:54I could still go left, right, whatever way you want to try to convince me. Yeah. But I'm thinking not Pikmin. Really? Yeah. So these are my reasons for not Pikmin, okay? In the Pikmin world, everything is larger than life. Now, I know we kind of got the baby's perspective, but none of this feels like larger than life to me. It feels like we got a cute baby at the center of all this, and that is the focus. It is not about, hey, we got a problem solve. We got to go out there and complete a task. That's what Pikmin is all about. Using your resources, trying to delegate, figuring out a plan, and then executing that plan in a timely manner.

16:33So none of this gave me that's the vibe, right? And then, bless, as I compared it with the other one, music, a little too whimsical. Too whimsical. Too whimsical. More Mario vibes than Pikmin vibes. Now, it's tough because, you know, there's a lot of Pikmin games. There's music all over the place. But from what I watched and what I felt, it's like at first you're like, oh, that's kind of Pikmin-y. But then at the end, it's like, you know what? That's not quite perfect on the Pikmin. And I'm telling you, I didn't get the vibe of Pikmin here. New York Comic-Con later this week. I'm thinking it's Mario the movie.

25:34And I know that that's bad. I do not think that this is AI. If this is AI, I'm cooked. But there's something about the face of the baby that I just don't like. I'm not saying it's not a good looking baby. The baby's fine, but the animation, all the stuff, I'm like, this doesn't seem Nintendo to me. There's something about the Nintendo seal of quality that I don't get from this.

25:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Really? Well, I think I get what you mean as far as usually what Nintendo aesthetic is. Because there's something that's a bit more animated about it. Fun? This gives Pixar to me. But, like, if you are making a Pixar thing without... But Pixar's not doing it. You know what I mean? Like, somebody really tried to replicate Pixar here. Yeah. And I don't know what that says. I think maybe that just says... For me, it says that Nintendo wants to make more movies. Yeah. And they're really trying to go after that Pixar bag. but even if this is pikmin like what's happening i mean i think it's them trying to figure out how to introduce pikmin to a wider audience right like you know so i saw so many chat mentioned that pikmin's not like a box office like that's not like something that's gonna sell but it pikmin is something that i so when i look at nintendo ip and what nintendo wants to expand and focus on all that stuff i look at the nintendo store and i look at the sections of the nintendo store and i look at marketable products and i do think there's something about pikmin that aesthetically is inherently marketable it is colorful it is whimsical it is unique and i don't know nintendo likes it like it sounds like blessing saying that pikmin's a top five nintendo franchise based on nintendo's own i didn't say that no but the pikmin are walking to the store i've been making that argument all the time when we see the different nintendo characters walking to the nintendo store those little dudes are there.

27:25Pikmin's there. Miyamoto loves Pikmin. I don't know if their blockbuster seller. I think you turn into a blockbuster seller. No, you go Animal Crossing first. There's a list above that.

27:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Here's my thing, right? What's selling the Pikmin movie isn't Pikmin. It's Nintendo. When Pixar puts out a new movie, it's the Pixar brand. But saying that though, does this sell anybody on anything? This is not good enough. It's selling us. I'm talking about it. True, but like not positively. I'm not positive on this at all. Really? At all. Which guy has babies? No, but it's like, because that's the thing. It's like, cool. We can talk about the animation quality, which I don't think is Pixar level. We can talk about the narrative story of this and the cuteness and the whatever. Not on Pixar level.

28:10Like, I think that this is worse than any Pixar short I've seen. Any Pixar short. And Nintendo just dropped this on a random Tuesday morning without context. And now look, I'm not saying this is the worst thing of all time. like i don't think that this is bad yeah i just don't think that it's good nothing about this is interesting yeah besides the conversation of it being random yeah like what's going on here that's
