In short

Kinda Funny Games Daily covers major gaming entertainment and industry news, focusing on PlayStation 6 backwards-compatibility rumors, the Street Fighter movie trailer, and Ubisoft possibly re-hiring the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown core team; it also mentions the Call of Duty movie release date and a 007 First Light theme song drop.

Guests

Blessing Adeoye Jr (host) and Tim (co-host). No other named guests appear as interviewees; the rest of the segment is hosts discussing news and reading superchats.

Key claims

  1. PS6 is rumored to support full backwards compatibility for PS4 and PS5 games, including a PS6 handheld variant; the rumor cites a leaked/old spec document and mentions HDMI 2.1 (with HDMI 2.0 compatibility).
  2. Street Fighter movie trailer looks campy and faithful to game moves/costumes; they praise specific character moments (Ken/Ryu, Chun-Li, tornado kick, Akuma).
  3. Ubisoft may accept pitches from the Lost Crown “core team” after disbanding them, though it’s unclear what projects will result.

Notable examples

PS3 “pain” as the contrast for missing disc compatibility; Street Fighter 2-style references; Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake cancellation and Lost Crown’s Steam absence as past issues; Lena Del Rey’s “007 First Light” title song announcement.

1:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for thursday april 16th 2026 i'm your host blessing at aoyay jr joining me is lacroy poppy tim oh my god i'm hyped for the show everything you named i'm like i want to talk about it yeah this sounds good to be had i like the texture on your shirt by the way i love it so much man that's really nice once again tiktok shop i got and i kept seeing it and i'm just like it's hard you can't really see it on the the camera that well um because last time i wore it when i came in a couple weeks ago when people like tim came back and all he wore on camera was just a white t-shirt and it's like well it's a cool white t-shirt okay it is a cool make it in every color i bought it in most colors oh yeah i've been trying to rotate all the not all but some of the graphic tees in my closet out because i had i had to like have a moment where i was like 99 of the shirts i own are graphics because of kind of funny merch video game merch that we get all the time and like it's at a certain point you look you look in the mirror and you're like do i want me to be this exact you know and sometimes the answer is yes yeah but then other times it's like you want some texture on a white t-shirt yeah like when i come into work sure like i might wear a graphic tee like i'm wearing a peace walker t-shirt right now but that's fine yeah a couple with a jacket it's fine you're good but if i'm trying to take back the night yeah you can't be out here no wearing a star fox t-shirt no no depending Depending.

2:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Depends. Maybe. Maybe. Sometimes you can. Enough about all that. Remember, if you're watching live, you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on YouTube.com slash kind of funny games. And we couldn't do this without our producers over on Patreon.com slash kind of funny. So thank you to Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney, the Psalm, Twining. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have six stories today. A Baker's Dusty! starting with our number one playstation 6 will have backwards compatibility with ps4 and ps5 games it is claimed who would have thought what this is from andrew heighten at insider gaming sony is working on the playstation 6 as we speak and there have been various rumors over the last few months and years but one of the biggest claims has been posed suggesting the ps6 will include total backwards compatibility for all ps4 and ps5 games many of you will know the ps3 pain when the console wouldn't play most ps2 discs similar things have happened in subsequent generations but a new rumor suggests sony might be trying to make the ps6 an all-encompassing playstation powerhouse according to an april 14th episode of the broken silicon podcast through moore's law is dead via portal viciados it's been claimed that that's a crazy game of telephone that we're playing It's been claimed that the PS6 will have backward compatibility.

4:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:At the 2 hour, 28 minute, and 20 second mark of the episode, the pair gets on to the topic of the PlayStation 6 and a leaked document concerning its specs. And Tom explained, quote, the PS6 handheld is a PS6. And what I want to leak today, because this document is years old, and it directly shows Canis, which is the PS6 codename. Ew. Yeah, I don't like that. I don't like Canis. Am I saying that wrong? Canis? no we're saying canis pisser and canis pisser and canis uh the uh and it directly shows canis backwards compatibility support another part of this doc literally says back compat ps4 ps5 just says it right there i just want to leak this today the ps6 yes it has backwards compatibility to four and five and they explicitly say it all over the place even the handheld they explicitly say it runs ps6 ps5 and ps4 games end quote the video then shows what we believe is part of the document being discussed tom doubles down that it will play ps4 games obviously i think it's safe to say the ps6 being backwards compatible would be the betterment would be for the betterment of ps6 owners especially those who have an extensive back catalog of physical ps4 and ps5 games to them I'll be honest yeah the most interesting part of this new store for me is the handheld stuff of course yeah this is an excuse for us to talk about the PlayStation 6 yeah um I also want to leak a couple things it will use a power plug oh yeah and HDMI 2.1 is suggested to get all the fancy features but it will be backwards compatible with HDMI 2.0 yeah you won't be able to get the 120 frames per second but if that's the only cable you got it'll still be compatible with your ps6 you can get that vgc write up an article if i can i leak something i'm just gonna say three letters s s b it's gonna have one yeah it's gonna have one yeah oh man i can say though man that's all i can say so no surprise that this is uh the case ps4 ps5 backwards compatibility with ps6 this could never not be the case anymore exactly we were talking about this yesterday when we're kind of lightly looking at a potential roadmap of when a ps6 might be and what it could look like and the one thing we both and i feel like everyone agrees on is since the ps4 generation playstation has had the the new standard of we're in a digital world this is what kind of lost xbox the a lot of or lost nintendo a lot of footing in the wii u era and they really had to start with the switch but even with xbox it's like losing the generation that went all digital where your entire digital library is is one of the biggest detriments to them and what put them where they are now playstation on the other hand are going to continue that because that is what has allowed them to dominate and they're going to continue to do that because people will not leave the playstation ecosystem that are in it because that's what they do that's where the game the playstation 6 launched without backwards and bad ability for ps5 and ps4 you open up a whole world of people going well now i can move like now if i if i see something that xbox is doing yeah that that seems interesting to me now it's like well i don't have this legacy anymore the legacy is what keeps people in yep that would be one of the biggest missteps in industry history yeah they're not going to do it so yeah this makes a lot of sense and is not a surprise at all let's bring in the handheld though because i was bringing up yesterday what if the ps6 is just a switch where the console and handheld are the same thing i don't see that fully happening mainly because playstation is going to want to push the tech forward in a demonstrable way as much as they can because that is a big part of their business yes but what if they didn't what if they're just like hey we're good enough i just can't pisser no they'll never be we're good they have they're the only ones that put out a pro console like there's i don't i don't see a world where play stations like we're satisfied let's try to let's try to get experimental i think there is something to be said about having available the most powerful way to play games on console like i think that is such a marketing feature that you're able to tout and go hey this is the best way you can play gta 6 so you're right and this isn't even a devil's advocate it's more just an uh thought experiment a thought experiment and like an argument to be made that i'm gonna sound silly saying this but at some point this will happen many generations of video games as we get towards the end or at some points even in the middle of a generation as we look at the next we ask ourselves do we need it do we need a new generation what is it going to add and we can talk about of course the jump from 2d to 3d super nintendo to n64 and we saw that jump yeah we saw the jump from ps1 to ps2 to the hd era of ps3 and we're getting more and more elements of tech that are allowing games to be what they need to be what is that top end though and i brought this up yesterday but the lowest part of the chain is the highest the tech can go if your tv can't do 8k doesn't matter if your console can the tv can't so if 4k which is an insane resolution yeah and is at this point standardized across tvs uh that you could buy if that is the standard and that is the goal and we look at games and it's like let's just say on the low end and the low end of the high end if we're looking at 60 frames per second as like the golden standard of performance but higher than that being like the goal at what point when all of the ai tech that they are pushing the pssr dlss all of the different the amd fsr like all of that stuff the better and better and better that stuff gets the less we need the actual tech to be the most powerful thing in the world so it's like if you can achieve the same results without having to push the the tech up and up and drive the cost higher and higher and higher at a certain point i think it benefits everybody i don't know the way they're quite yet yeah but by the time a ps6 comes out with that iteration of pssr i do think and especially look look at the magic capcom's pulling on the switch too with pragmata and yeah sure they don't look as good as the ps5 or pc versions but what What if the PS5 was using that same type of tech for its games, which they are.

10:31That's what gets us what we have on the PS5 Pro. But a PS handheld, if they were to put in enough that it could natively run PS4 games, natively run PS5 games like most of them, some of them needing help, still native RAM. I'm not saying like cloud streaming stuff, but really relying on the AI upscaling and super sampling and all of that stuff. It's happening right now. That's the type of AI we're not going to get away from. And I know some people might say, I don't like that. And that is absolutely fair. But the results are in. It's working. And it's tricking people. The people that are doing the PepsiCo challenge, we're at a point now that more and more people can't tell the difference.

11:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yes, 100%. The only caveat there is with the latest scandal. But the latest, I think, hiccup of DLSS 6. Is it 6? the one that has kind of like the they showed Resident Evil Requiem 5 oh she looks weird that's generative AI stuff that is one of the the toggles one of the things and yeah that sucks that that's the hope is we don't go that direction absolutely absolutely to your point I then wonder and Tim you can probably tell me better about this right like if let's say the hardware race ends up being the thing of like yeah we've hit max capacity as far as what we're pushing with the hardware and what makes sense for the tvs that these things are what what the standard of technology is does that then just get all get fed into all right now it's more of the ai race like we're going to push these ai chips to get better and better and better and better right now what the hardware is about we're already there is that like is that the defining um i guess battle of the playstation 6 and next gen xbox i think it is the reason of that is what are we talking about what is the high end it is resolution and it is frame rate right like and then like loading and things like that with ssds that they've already solved like we were getting like that tech is there and they've kind of proven it we've seen how much faster games have gotten loading wise why is that back in the day there were no loading screens i could play starfox 64 and there's not a single load screen why cartridge it was on cartridge we're back to that that's what i guess ssds are right it's like the flash memory so it's like the discs were the thing slowing it down that tech has been solved so it's just a lot of that of just like looking at all the different areas of what they even could improve what the high end is what the low end is we thinking about where 2d games kind of topped out right at the end of the 16-bit era we can even argue the 32-bit era a ton of playstation games like symphony of the night comes to mind like there were some amazing 2d games that could not have ran on a super nintendo but like use the the power of the playstation as we like jump forward now we see some amazing replaced just came out there's so many beautiful 2d games but no matter how advanced they are they don't need the ps6 to be two thousand dollars yeah oh you know what i mean yes and then you apply that to 3d and i do think that we're getting to a point that yes there could be games made that take advantage of it being 8k and it having 120 frames per second and it having xyz whatever but then the seven year development uh time is going to be 14 years and the price of the game is going to be a hundred dollars yeah and you're not going to get a sequel to a game ever yeah i think to go further down this thought experiment right because i think you're right i i i think there's always the desire from a playstation and even an xbox of we want to have this high-end machine but yeah like it is the more you chase that i think the more we get into a weird place of like we're chasing this for no reason and we're alienating our audiences because these are getting more and more expensive to to make to buy to do all this shit and so i think the question you then have to ask yourself is what is the value we're providing for the audience and to keep it on the playstation things as we're talking about the playstation 6 i mean i think it has to be the handheld i think it has to be to some extent all right how do we make a handheld that is running ps4 ps5 and maybe ps6 with some help native i mean it sounds like it's ps6 but which i still it's hard for me to believe but so what you're saying like you said something that i that is actually really important is that them pushing the tech the upscaling stuff is them pushing the tech yes this that is the offer to the people is that oh yeah no no it's gonna hit the resolution you want and it's gonna hit the frame rate you want yes are they going to created frames and all this stuff yes they are oh yeah but that's the tech that's getting better that's the thing that is allowing it to work the way that it needs to yes that is at this point it's not the future it is the present it is what's happening and we're seeing it everywhere from switch all the way to pc so to talk about the maybe this is even further future i think handheld i know we're talking about this one running playstation 6 but i i'm of the mind until we see it i'm i think it'll run playstation 6 but i think it'll be i don't think this will be the end-all be all of like damn we did it the playstation handheld is here it runs all the things that i want i think it'll very much be select you can play some playstation 6 you might even be able to play some ps5 maybe not all ps5 kind of thing i think years and years later v2 of whatever this is is gonna be the oh shit now we are playing all the playstation 6 games because we're at a place where we are catching up with the tech that's available in this handheld with the tech that is like comparable i guess with whatever the high-end machine is when i say comparable not even like it's running at high end no but i can at least play playable it's god of war rat rock it's a good enough version of this thing yeah i i totally agree with you having said that you saying the next version it's like that's where it goes back to me of like we don't need this right now which way which part the ps6 okay so it's like if we just hold off a little bit and the tech gets there there's also the the world where yeah sure in handheld mode maybe it can't play every game even at low settings or whatever but if there is if the dock is more powerful than nintendo has allowed that is the other thing where it's like playstation the ps6 handheld and console could be the same thing because the one thing holding me back from being like that's what they're gonna do is they still want it to be a beefy powerful that's the thing that's why i still separate the two yeah but but what if it is just the dock is the powerful thing nintendo doesn't do that yeah playstation very much could does that technology exist like yeah okay yeah i mean absolutely yeah i mean most laptops at this point like in a professional setting um besides macbooks you are connecting to and even a macbook at this point you're connecting to a thunderbolt dock or whatever yeah to to get more power and stuff yeah that'd be amazing yeah a lot of times like you can get dogs that have separate gpus entirely separate gpus how much more expensive does that make it i mean that makes it expensive yeah but also that that potentially just makes it's just a console it's just in a different form sure sure sure then their screens and all that stuff like that yeah their prices will be there for sure well we'll be on the lookout for more playstation rumors playstation 6 rumors uh which is kind of crazy to think about the fact that we're in the playstation 6 rumor yeah part of the process that's the cycle man it never ends and here we are having the same conversation of did 3d games peak out like do we need things better it's like it's like clockwork yeah uh during some super chats claw master writes in and says tim are you saying we have reached the peak in 3d

17:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that's hella fucking funny uh alexia stevens says uh rain over me is a movie about this goes back to the 9-11 let me tell you that 9-11 clip caught fire i've seen multiple i've not seen this happen in a while we're like multiple audience members have now clipped it out on their own to show people online i wish i recorded my brother's reaction when i showed him last night oh yeah dude he his mind was blown wait which part though that i would ask that asking it bless yeah which i thought he was like oh i don't remember it either no he fucking remembers it alexo steven says rain over me is a movie about 9-11 where the main character uses the shadow of the colossus to cope oh i've heard about this uh with sandler and cheetle uh thought you should know bless no i've i've heard i've not watched rain over me but i've heard this plenty of times of Shadow of the Colossus being a coping mechanism for 9-11.

18:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kabalov-Jaitin says, no 8K on PlayStation 6, please. I want better graphics in 4K. We're not getting 8K. I keep saying this, but 8K is available on three TVs, period, right now. And they are$30 ,000. But when NVIDIA first debuted DLSS, they invited me and Andy to their headquarters, and we got to play on one of those 8K, $30 ,000 LG OLEDs. And we played Death Stranding 2. Sorry, Death Stranding 1 in 8K. How did it feel? Via DLSS. It was amazing. But also, no one's going to do that. But it just shows the power of the tech. The potential of the tech. So half that, 4K. We good. We out here. We out here.

19:23And again, we're not out here yet. Right now, we're in a 1440p world. But we will be 4K.

19:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think that's my next step. I need a 1440p monitor. Because I'm out here gaming on my 1080p monitor in my room. it's time for me to level up you know i'm not feeling anymore ever since i got this this 4k lg oled in my living room i'm acting different yeah i'm walking different i don't want to talk out of turn uh-huh because i don't know that this is true for the year that you have but i do know that there's some years with lg oled that offer 1440p and some that don't i hope that yours doesn't i'm gonna look in the settings um el capitan writes in and says saving up my Best Buy bucks for PlayStation 6 handheld now.

20:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Blessing, get on that train. Half my PS5 Pro launch purchase was done with Best Buy bucks. What is Best Buy bucks? BBBs? Is that a membership? I used to be part of Gamer Club Unlocked. Then they took that away. Greatest deal. Oh, Game Pass! Game Pass! Nah, bro. I was getting brand new games for like 20 % off every single time. I miss Gamer Club Unlocked. Christian Solario writes in and says, unrelated, but seems Saudi PIF is pulling back on some sporting investments. Perhaps they'll reconsider the EA deal. One to keep an eye on. I mean, they're also going all in on video game investments. And so I don't know if the sporting investments would impact the EA stuff as much as like the video game stuff would.

20:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But, you know, fingers crossed. I had to check if they owned me this morning. Every single day is like we've raised our stock and whatever it is. SNK. Aaron Limerine says, speaking of Sony, Insider Gaming just reported like half an hour ago, Fair Games is alive. Who knows? I was thinking about Fair Games in the shower this morning. Yeah? Yeah. I was thinking about the headlines they're gonna write. It's not Fair Games. Jesus Christ. It got cancelled. God damn. Are we seeing it? Because the reason I was thinking about it, I was like, holy shit, Marathon came out. And people like it. People like it.

21:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't know if the player base is as robust as they want it to be, but People that are playing like I'm I was playing it. I liked it. Do we see fair games? Do we see fair games for like two weeks? But we do though. No, I think it gets canceled. Wow. Jade Raymond left the studio. That was her studio. And she left. It ain't fair games. Dust Wayne says, bless says the darndest things. Listen, I'm here for comedy. don't you gotta live a little sometimes you gotta ask childhood friends about 9-11 comedy you're here for comedy i'm here for the comedy of life nothing says comedy uh zupano writes and it says i don't think we have peaked in 3d visuals but i do think the focus on optimization and efficiency would be better suited for consumers i'll be honest i i don't really care about pushing 3d visuals all that much further i think once i saw death straining 2 i went we did it we're good playing Death Stranding 2 I don't I'm like I don't need games to look better than this and but we've been saying that forever yeah and then we see the next generation of games and we look back and we're just like oh man like I thought that was the peak and like sure does the difference between Last of Us Last of Us Remastered and Last of Us Remastered Remake or whatever it was like did we need it the answer is no is one definitely technically superior yeah yeah so it's like all right we are getting these like little boosts up right but like to me i'm with you in the sense of i am constantly blown away as a 36 year old man i sit there playing games and go through a section and i have to pause and just be like i can't believe this is what video games have become oh yeah i'm just so goddamn impressed at the like i'm playing resident evil 9 and i'm like how how does it look this good how is there this many unique art assets that look this good that you can interact with that aren't pre-rendered backgrounds and like i can say that about so many different games so it's like yeah i don't need it to be that much better sure sure sure but i also wish that things just worked and oftentimes they don't yeah that's honestly i'm out here all i want is is 60 fps 120 fps even though i probably couldn't tell you the difference but like maybe i could if i experienced it i just want these games to run smooth yeah and that's like if we can meet that in the middle then like i'm i'm a happy man um let's see here opal octopus says i don't need anything more than ps4 graphics with the technical advancements of ps5 slash pc especially if it means more than one game releasing in a gen uh maybe naughty dog melissa with the y in the chat just said tim's only 36 damn damn melissa i didn't know it was like that you look great for 36 i look okay for 36 you know what i mean you don't need to overhype it but melissa you look fantastic for god listen but i agree about the the one game thing man like i was i was thinking go for on my drive over i was thinking a bit more about the conversation we're having yesterday and it's just like thinking about the future of god of war right of like what this fey game potentially could be yeah and i was just thinking i was like you don't want to run franchises or ip or just things into the ground and we've seen it countless times assassin's creed like call of duty like there are things that people are all in on and then eventually the sentiment gets negative even if there's still millions of players and millions of people that love the things but then you think back to some of the golden eras of our lives of the three gta's on one three gta threes on one console cycle yeah like ratchet gets an entire trilogy jack gets an entire trilogy like sly gets an entire trilogy like so the final fantasy 7 8 9 all on ps1 like how is this happening and it's not happening now and i'm like do we need trilogies or are duologies the new trilogies i mean for video games i don't think video games can ever do trilogies and that sucks yeah because it's like maybe like i'm not even saying necessarily just one console cycle but just because console cycles i kind of look at as like i don't give a shit that something came out on ps4 and ps5 and there's like this weird like crossover thing because in my mind god of war at 2018 ragnarok and if we were to get another god of war that would count for me even if that time was a little more elongated than like i'm not it doesn't need to be back to back annually yeah but like but like i i just don't think i think for the storytelling part of it the idea of a video game trilogy taking 15 years to put out it's like brother i don't care anymore the fact is you do though right like we were seeing that and let's i don't know if i do what if it's 10 years though i i mean i think you can i'm talking about 10 years 2018 2022 oh for like a god of war trilogy but like these the times just keep getting longer and longer i think that's the thing like they are but i'm saying like that shouldn't be the case oh for sure this out okay yeah it's like we should be figuring out a way to get three of these games within that time cycle yeah i 100 agree i think i've also just given up on it though where i i love the idea of a trilogy of course we have classic video game trilogies and something like mass effect you know like they exist but i think after god of war i'm like okay i think i'm fine with the duology right like i think video games trilogies for movies i think work because of that like the the runtime you know i mean you get two hours here two hours there and then two hours to end it right it is a this is a six to nine hour experience of a piece of art god of war those are like what 20 hour 30 hour video games like i think that's when you play two god of war games that's a full show you know i mean that's a full five season episode or five yeah five season thing of tv like i think you have so much space to tell a story in a video game duology that i don't have as much of the desire for a trilogy there even though trilogies are epic and they're hard though you know what i mean yeah but that was a different time i know this is a different time take me back i don't think we can ever get back on the triple a level on the indie level i think we can we can be there all day but we gotta find a way i want to but like horizon is my key example actually where we got horizon zero dawn we got horizon for and zero dawn was 2017 we got horizon forbidden west in like 2022 and they ended forbidden west on a big old cliffhanger i don't know what i'm playing that third game yeah what was that cliffhanger and i gotta i gotta wait what a lifetime like i'm gonna be a different person when three comes out you might hate that i might be a father i might be a grandfather yeah you might be you know what i mean like what are we doing here science dog official writes and says when is tim getty stars in the bank revenge tour starting you know i've been really thinking about this about how i want to play yeah where's the why don't you have it out here because i'm outing it because i'm outing it it's like a siren call you don't want to start no beef i want it clear to everybody the stars in the bank is what made greg miller an asshole greg miller is an asshole so he targets me the briefcase has nothing to do with it.

28:41All right. Yeah. The more I interact with the briefcase, the more Greg interacts with me. I don't want that. So I need to think about how to play this. I need to think about this the right way.

28:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You ain't built for it, man. You know what I mean? You're like a, you're a non-fighting champion on WWE. That's what people are saying. You gotta get in the ring. I know you're on Raw, but show up on a SmackDown. No. i'm gonna show up on aew i don't know i lost the metaphor there um portland kevin i'll do one more because we've been hanging out on super chats for a while portland kevin says we don't need a new console for another three years at least if anything i take a handheld ps5 hell give me a handheld ps4 and i'd love it let me tell you about the playstation portal or the steam deck or this let me tell you about the steam deck uh but i agree i'll take a handheld ps4 all day but I think that audience, I don't know if that audience is big enough for people who would just take that for PlayStation and go, yeah, let's make it.

29:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But I'm one of those people. I would also take a handheld PS4 and then probably not use it. Tim, the Street Fighter trailer dropped this morning. 35:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we're back with story number two. Street Fighter movie gets a new trailer. I believe it's first official trailer. First official trailer. We got some like a little hype montage during the Game Awards. And then yesterday we got a little quick teaser thing going out. But now we have the trailer. Here's what we're going to do, everybody. This is an experiment of all experiments. YouTube has been immediately taking us down when we trailer react to movies during a YouTube live stream. It's okay on Twitch, though. So here's what we're trying. Kevin has a setup, very experimental setup. We're going to try to watch it live on Twitch.

35:37On YouTube, you'll just hear our reactions. You won't see or hear it. If you guys are watching live and you want to watch us react live. No, they will see it. On YouTube? Yeah. Oh, my God, Kevin. On YouTube? Yeah. Sorry. I thought it was just the audio that you wanted me to sort out. No. Sorry. when I went through the list with you and confirmed just to make sure we're on the same page video, audio, video, it's okay let's not do it then god damn it you know what, fuck you, here's what we're gonna do, I'm sorry YouTube and Twitch we'll have to experiment another day neither of you are gonna see it can you show it to just us

36:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:um yeah, and then they'll just hear us talk about it, yeah I'm sorry I threw this on him this morning. I apologize, everybody, but we need to watch this so we can talk about it with you. It's two minutes. Let's go. Yes. Okay. Right now, Twitch is getting audio also. That's fine. Yeah. No, maybe not. We'll learn as we start this. Okay, hold on, hold on, hold on. There we go.

36:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:All right. Kevin's hit play here. They're doing the trailer starts now thing that I hate. It has become a trend.

37:06God. They got Tupac? I'm a straight fighter. That's not good.

37:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, they got the perfect in there. They got my guy as Ken. oh they're like leading with ken here they're beating up a car you got 50 cents balrog knocking out oh shit it's the intro oh fuck come on

37:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:is she chunli yeah okay ryu yeah ryu and chunli there I love how 90s themed this is

37:59This is turning into a different movie now Got people on horses

38:08Ken doing drunk karaoke Okay That's cool

38:19Got a little Ken versus Ryu department. Dude, they're nailing the moves.

38:28And Ryu's actor is just schooling Ken here. Fuck yeah. I love that.

38:41Oh my god. The shower scene. From the animated movie.

38:49Come on.

38:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The flash kick. Oh, we got Kami and Chun-Li and their outfits look great. They do look costumey, but I like the outfit. Awesome.

39:05Oh my God. Oh my God.

39:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Got the tornado kick. Cody Rhodes saying boom. Yep, yep, yep. Oh my God. Akuma.

39:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:that was some abracadabra shit it says 50 cent

39:27okay

39:32they're surprised that Ryu is using fireballs

39:39wow okay and a little orchestrated Street Fighter 2 theme there the intro alright bless

39:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:so where's the world at with this because I feel like is it just me and you that are excited about this because I watch this and I'm like this looks fantastic thank you thank you I don't know I feel like I've seen everybody else talking shit and I look at this and I'm like this looks exactly like what I want out of a Street Fighter movie this is it this is the best path forward for a Street Fighter movie yeah we do not want a serious take this fuck oh look at this no we don't want that no we just want them doing the stupid moves with stupid music playing with stupid costumes on Dumb colorful costumes This looks fucking horrible And I can't wait to see it Everything looks so true to the video games In a way that, sure, might not make for the best movie But I think it's going to make for a very fun movie Jason Momoa is a big green man Yeah Punching 50 cents Here's the thing I can sum up my thoughts about this trailer With how hearing 50 cents say That's some abracadabra shit Yeah Made me feel And it made me feel good I heard that and I went, yep yep this gives me the vibes of it's going to be what the super mario brothers movie is specifically galaxy as far as hey here's a bunch of references with a story that is so loosely tied together even though in a way i might have more faith in the story of this than mario galaxy i mean what we're seeing here chun lee's trying to like get the good guys together to fight the bad guys that's all we need reuse why the street fighter is about the world warriors getting in a fighting tournament using their stupid ass abilities to punch each other with stupid ass moves and we saw so many stupid ass moves in that yeah and they looked stupid as hell perfect but yeah but exactly like the video games perfect um i'm all about that man i'm all about it i'm all i can't i cannot wait for that october 16th too far out i for some reason thought it was happening sooner maybe it got delayed combat is mortal combat that's what and the mortal combat 2 trailers they've been getting me going to in a different way they're taking this shit dark and serious and gory and that works for mortal combat bullshit this is street fighter bullshit they put out a poster that i'd like to look at as well and also the fact that we're getting a mortal combat and a street fighter movie in the same year pretty damn sick it's on the it's so fucked up they didn't get them on stage together thinking words and that what's his name kicked us out with it andrew fucking schultz worst thing about this movie yeah the thing is at least there wasn't that much of him in this yeah there's a little bit there was But the movie to me looks like a YouTube fan film from like 2010, but with way higher budget.

42:10Yeah. And an insane cast, like the most campy cast possible. We're looking for camp fun here. And we're getting some camp fun.

42:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The only part where I was like, oh, it was, I think it was Zangief who did like the whatever suplex. His special move. Yeah, his special move. That, I could see the CGI radiating on the screen. But it was perfect. I would rather that than try to realistically do it. but almost too much like the video game. Kevin has brought up breaking news. There's a tweet from Call of Duty that says, Lock it in. The Call of Duty movie drops into theaters June 30th, 2028. Happy birthday to me. Happy birthday to him. This is the gift I've been waiting for. I wish they put Street Fighter out of my birthday. I keep forgetting that the Call of Duty movie is happening, and I find it tough to get excited.

42:52Yeah.

42:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We'll see. Can you bring up the poster, though? Is this... Okay, sorry. I thought this is... No. Oh, I see. Yeah. No, Greg added the thing. The call me thinking about it. Yeah. Oh, this looks great. I like the vision, but like. I feel like I can see the Photoshop outline. This less. Yeah. If they're leading in, you can't lean out like this. You got to lead it. I could. Oh, I could see the Photoshop of this. I could make this. Look at their costume. Look at Jason Momoa. don't talk to me about photoshop layers i like the idea i like the energy i like the colors it's just i don't know man so here's the thing i'm a street fighter 2 guy more than anything like street fighter 3 as well a little bit of the alpha and then 4 is kind of where i'd say i stopped sure sure sure um in terms of familiarity familiarity with the characters so it's like i'm looking at this i'm like holy crap it's the whole damn crew the one person that i don't know who or the two people i don't know who they are is the up near bison so the guy with the announcer thing is he just an announcer or is he oh um i don't yeah i think he might just be an announcer that's uh what's his name though um the comedian i guess half the people here are comedian is that eric andre no no yeah okay yeah i wondered if he was a street fighter character and then the the girl next to bison this is very important is the incredible real world martial artist that is like she's like 22 or something and she's a fucking badass she was the one from cobra kai season six that like towards the end where like where they're like all right we need to bring in some like real people that know how to kick ass like she was like the villain of the end of cobra kai for the kids and she's one of the most impressive fighters i've ever seen so having her in this movie already ups the stakes but we don't know her character but i just yeah i don't know i mean her outfit looks familiar it's like that shadow lou looking stuff but like i just don't know her yeah eric andre is don savage people saying jury that's not jury jury has the like two-sided hair thing going on yeah i can't tell who she is um and then yeah eric andre is just an announcer but cool yeah this looks ridiculous and i'm all about it now people are saying she's Julie from Alpha.

45:17Okay, let me check this. Julie. She is Julie from Street Fighter Alpha. J-U-L-I. She's not J-U-R-A. Ah, yes, yes, yes, yes. Hell yeah.

45:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Alright. Well, you have that, of course. We just talked about breaking news, Call of Duty movies happening, directed by Peter Berg, written by Peter Berg and Taylor Sheridan, produced by Peter Berg, Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, and Rob Kostik. Cool. I don't really have much to say about it, aside from yeah that's a conversation for another time oh my god top gun 3 was officially announced no shot really let's fucking go let's fucking go dude that shovel movie the what's it called digger which i don't like that name for a movie but like that movie looks good i don't like the name we're getting dangerous we're getting dangerous territories with that name but that movie looks incredible it looks really cool i can't wait for it story number three we got a rumor ubisoft to give prince of persia the lost crown's core dev team another chance we talked about this last uh kfgd uh during you're wrong because somebody had written in about it but uh to get into the article uh prince of persia the lost crown was one of those games that seemed to go down really really well with everyone who played it but it just couldn't shift enough copies to satisfy its corporate overlords the very highly rated side-scrolling action game released back in january 2024 and by the end of the year we had confirmation of ubisoft's decision to disband its development team, much to the frustration of its fans.

46:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But now, the same French journalist who shared the bad news back then is claiming that Ubisoft was ready to give the Lost Crown's core team another shot. Said reporter, who goes by the name of Gouttoes on social media, says that the publisher will be accepting pitches for game ideas from the team. There are currently no additional details on the kind of projects that are going to be presented. So if something does come of this, it won't necessarily have anything to do with prince of persia gautos also clarifies that core team refers to the main creatives who spearheaded the lost crown from the start that's not a huge group apparently but they'll be they'll bring others on board as they go when i hear news i often am optimistic about it yeah i'm often the guy that's like let's just make the most of this this is the type of thing that is so near and dear to my heart we're talking about prince of persia lost crown we're working on our top 100 lists yeah and there's no iteration of this list that i've made that prince of persia lost crown is not in my top 10 video games ever made i freaking love this game my game of the year 2024 it means so much to me i think the game is a gold standard in so many different verticals of what i care about with video games this team's so special they made rayman legends they made rayman origins they know how to make really damn good games so when they were kind of tossed to the wind at ubisoft and put on a bunch of projects that were doomed to fail it fucking hurt and it fucking sucked so to hear this obviously makes me very happy very hopeful but am i optimistic about this i don't know that i can be because of ubisoft i have zero faith in ubisoft at this point i feel like any inch i could give them over the last couple years, something happens that I'm like, nope, nope, nope.

48:32Oh, Sands of Time Remake. One of the things I'm actually looking forward to, canceled after all that time. We thought it might have been Shadow Dropped. We thought they might have Shadow Dropped. I was sad because my daughter was about to be born and I'm like, I'm not going to be able to play Prince of Persia's Sands of Time Remake because I'm going to have a child. Well, guess what now? I have a child and I'm never going to be able to play Sands of Time Remake. Thanks, Ubisoft. I just don't believe in this. Damn. I hope I'm wrong. I hope that this is all awesome.

49:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I can't make any argument against that. Yeah. But I mean, they fucked Lost Crown so bad. Not launching it on Steam was the biggest mistake that they could have possibly made with this game in particular. And they didn't. And now the game's doing great. Now everyone knows. That's what maybe the most beloved Ubisoft game in the last couple of years. And I feel like it keeps rising. I'd love to see updated sales on it. I bet that they are through the roof. Having said that, the game's also now probably pennies. Because Ubisoft doesn't value its video games. Yeah. Look what happens when you don't value your games.

49:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, Tim, are you optimistic about story number four? Lena Del Rey surprise drops James Bond 007 First Light theme song. I'm pulling from Jem Azwid. I definitely didn't pronounce that right. My apologies. At Variety. Azwad? Azwad. It may not be the James Bond theme that fans have long pined for, but Lena Del Rey and 007 finally teamed up in collaboration with five-time Bond film composer David Arnold. The singer has dropped the official title song for the upcoming game 007 First Light from iOteractive and Amazon MGM Studios. The 007 First Light title sequence featuring Del Rey's track will drop on April 17th at 3 p.m.

50:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Eastern time. I've not listened to it yet. Have you gotten to listen to it? Yes, I have. Is it another Lena Del Rey classic? So, I wouldn't go that far? Look, I'm going to say lowercase yes. You know what I mean? I'm not like, hell yeah. It's not like when I watched, what's the Leonardo DiCaprio based off the famous book? Gatsby. When she did the Gatsby theme, Young and Beautiful. No. Well, that is like a lot of cover. That's like one of my favorite songs of all time. I mean, it's fucking amazing. So here's the thing with this. I love Lana Del Rey. And bless, if we're talking about problematic faves, don't go down the rabbit hole.

50:49Every episode, somebody knew. She's a problem. She's a real problem.

50:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Bob Barker. but god that lot of um but i mean she makes undeniably some of my favorite type of music i really really really love her vibe musically um and she's always been a number one top pick for me for a bond uh theme i'm not alone that is you hear her you're like that would make sense right and uh when they were talking about this game it was a long time ago you and i were talking about this about who should do the song and i was saying it should be lot of so this is very very exciting roger was saying at some point that this leaked i didn't see that so i'm just excited it's confirmed here yeah um that it's actually happening i got so excited this morning that i got up and i walked up to g and i was like i'm gonna play something for you for 15 seconds and then i'm gonna pause it i'm gonna skip to the end and play another 15 seconds i'm gonna ask you some questions okay played the first 15 seconds i'm like who is that she's like lana delray and i'm like yes for the next 15 seconds.

51:47What is it? Is it a James Bond song? And I'm like, they did it. They did what they needed to do. They made a Lana Del Rey, James Bond song that is identifiable to anybody that has heard a Lana Del Rey or James Bond song. That's awesome. Is it an all-time classic? I don't think so. It really just seems like a greatest hits of Lana Del Rey and James Bond songs. But they fucking did it. For a game that has Lenny Kravitz as the Bond villain. Yeah, that's fun. I like that. I love it.

52:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I can't wait to listen to it. I'll watch it when they drop this title sequence. I think that should be very cool. Story number five, Tim, you know, we talked about the Lana Del Rey news. Now that's such big news. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest place to go for the tiniest news I wanted to hear about. Where would I go? You go to our last story, the We News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. Sorry, I made a pivot because I'm demoting story number five into Wii News. It looks like Starfield is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 sometime soon. This is Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle.

52:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:As spotted by Universo Nintendo, the RPG was recently rated for Nintendo's console by Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information Board. All but confirming the port. Cool. More Wii News for you. Mixtape is going to be$20 at launch. Neat. Yeah, I saw that. very very fun uh little way to show this they made a trailer for it and it was like counting the time from like the 80s up to 1999 and it was like that's the price yeah really cool yuka replayly hits 60 fps on switch 2 uh in a major new performance update amazing a little late a lot late but man hey they did it they said they were going to people doubted them and they did it meta is increasing the price of quest 3 and quest 3s starting sunday uh 3s for 128 gigs will be going from$300 to$350.

53:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Quest 3S for 256 gigabytes is going from$400 to$450. And then Quest 3 for 512 gigabytes is going from$500 to$600. So I'm sure that's exactly what a VR hardware needs. From Wario64, Fortnite Festival adds mic vocals and pro drums on April 16th. You can use any microphone and Rock Band 4 or compatible MIDI drum kit, which is pretty cool. from game informer digital extremes ceo says putting soul in the title of the game soul frame was an idiot decision because people expected the game to be more souls like quote yeah it's stupid we invited that criticism absolutely but the soul is supposed to be more about the literal soul of these characters and the world and quote i feel for them i do man i love the quote idiot decision it's like yeah bro we've been there we all get it we know because like i like i would probably do the saying like i wouldn't have thought about that of like oh we're making a follow-up to warframe that's a bit more fantasy or whatever like going through names i will if somebody brought up the word soul frame i would not have connected it to souls like yeah you would i don't know if i would i think you would i think in somewhere in the conversation it would eventually come up but like i've been i've been seeing soul frame for the last few years i never once thought there's no no i don't believe i never once thought oh yeah like is you can't hear the word soul without thinking souls like i always just thought warframe like because it's the developers of warframe yeah it's a frame like i never really thought about that i get what he's saying i looked at the game i looked at the visuals of it and i was like that's got soul that's what i said that's got soul right there you should call it soul frame i never once thought people expect paris on a run he's on a historical run you want dodge rolls and paris in this game fuck i didn't think about that shit um until then launches april 23rd on xbox and then feature games show summer showcase is set for june 6th and that is it for we news let's see what people are talking about in the super chats real quick before we get out of here let's see let's see let's see let's see let's see let's see mason grave says driving across texas right now thanks y 'all for helping me get through a couple of hours stay safe as you're driving through texas um kinetic says tim and blessed have either you heard of this or have either of you watched this season of invincible it's insane we need a screen a screencast yeah me and you were just talking about it right before this episode i'm caught up i watched this week's episode incredible stuff my favorite episode of the series by far i am so behind on invincible man i'm uh half i'm still halfway through season three so i'm ashamed of myself i will blame my child as i will often do now for everything fair enough it wasn't alive when season three was dropping but you know what we knew she was coming oscar navarro uh writes in and says bless are you still rocking pokemon champions yeah i'm doing a battle here and there every single day um i'm loving it there's just so many games and so between that but the sorrows codes are in so i spent yesterday reviewing that but i've been trying to sneak in Pokemon champions here and there Tim are you playing Pokemon champions I dabbled a little bit and it pissed me off too much so I kind of dropped off it and like fair enough a lot of that just came down to I just want to look cooler than I look and it's like they didn't give me enough money to do that immediately and I'm like I okay I'm gonna play replaced fair enough um I'm like I'm starting to get into the strategy I'm excited for you I want to watch you play I want to let you get a little bit better yeah and then I want you to stream and then I want to watch you like I like that.

57:09Yeah.

57:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I've been doing strategies. I got this. I think I've already told you about this Pokemon Toxapex. Yeah, you're telling me. My core strategy. Poisoning people. Infesting them. It sounds meaner that it is. Yeah. But then like, yeah, hidden with the, oh, what's the move called? There's a move where it's basically protect, but it's not protect. It's protect, but if you hit me with a physical move, it then poisons you. Oh, man. I'd be getting people with that shit. Yeah. Yeah. It's a good time. We got a, you're wrong here. Hit it. We got Bander saying Canis means dog and refers to two constellations, Canis Major and Canis Minor.

57:41It could indicate two SKUs for PlayStation 6. Bander, like where your head's at.

57:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Somebody hits, Shay Braven writes in with some missed Wii news and you're wrong. Says Save the World is now out for free. So Fortnite saved the world. And that is it for You're Wrong. I think we have time for one more super chat let's see T Sweezy writes in and says I know we keep throwing around 8k but can the human eye even see the difference between 4k and 8k it's an excellent question and like it does get to a reality of just like there's so many factors at play of like how close are you to the screen like how big is the screen like a lot of different stuff and we are at a silly point of it having said that I remember the same argument being thrown around about 720p and 1080p and it's like and like oh well on a handheld it doesn't matter and let me tell you playing games on the uh switch 2 versus the switch the 1080p versus 720p yeah there's a difference y 'all yeah and when the games like the handheld boosting that they added thank god they did that because when you're playing a 720p game on the 1080p screen it looked like doo-doo butter yep i like that you ended it on doo-doo butter i thought you had more to say it just looks like doodoo butter point blank period what's funny is that i read that super chat thinking that they're making a joke about how people would say the same thing about i think 120 fps of like can people actually tell the difference between such high frames per second with the human eye so i didn't know if they're referencing that let me know to you if that was a reference or if you're genuinely asking no i'm sure that's a genuine okay yeah and the thing that i've noticed and to be clear i am not the one with the eye like sure i know when something feels off to me and i know when i feel like something has or should look better i couldn't really tell you why you know it's more about like i need to know the facts about it all but playing a game on 30 60 and 120 it's at a certain point 30 and 60 is i see the you can't see the difference 61 20 you feel the difference it's to me it's a pure handheld game thing like playing tony hawk in 60 versus 120 i feel the difference i don't see it though okay interesting that's me i don't know and he's better than me so many ways that brings us to the end of this episode of kind of funny games daily of course if you love what we do here support us with the kind of funny membership over on patreon or youtube to get all of our shows ad free and get a daily exclusive show enjoy the games cast next which is going to be tim doing a solo games cast catching up in the last three months yeah the big headlines big questions that you might have missed Y 'all send a bunch of voicemails telling me all the stories you want me to give my thoughts on.

1:00:27And so I'm going to do that alone. Just me here and you.

1:00:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we have more content after that. But this has been it for KFGD. So until next time, Game Daily.
