0:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for tuesday september 8th 2026 i'm one of your hosts blessing at aoa jr joining me is little croy poppy tim mo boy gettys what a time to be alive we now know what ocarina looks like we know when it's coming out it's so soon so soon so damn soon and bless we have a whole other nintendo direct tomorrow how excited are you oh 10 out of 10 really yeah i mean like look i feel like now i mean we're we're getting towards the end of the year so it's not a surprise but we know the rest of nintendo's year yeah we're about to learn what nintendo's next year looks like do we know the rest of nintendo's year it's zelda it's you're forgetting about what sports resort dusk bloods oh okay yeah still needs a date it does are you thinking this year here's the thing i think it could come out this year like it feels like a december game plan doing the preview right like saying close network test i feel like that's a game that if they wanted it to come out this year they could get it out it's just a matter of date wise schedule wise does it make sense for it to come out this year i also think it could be a december game i don't know that it should but like the switch 2 is a semi different audience yeah which to plain duskbloods i i don't know my opinion is that this game is so specific that like any other game coming out in december i'm like get out the way like let people like experience gta 6 and that game though i feel like i feel like december is fine i the people that are gonna play duskbloods are gonna play duskbloods they're gonna they're gonna end up there yeah i think we're fine with that yeah i i think that it'll be as safe as it can be how safe can it be i don't know yeah like we'll see there was a lot of trepidation about night rain a multiplayer elden ring of like is this going to hit on the level it needs to and the answer was yes it works yeah so i think dustbloods has more working against it mainly the switch i mean it being a switch to exclusive i think heavily works against it i also think it being a competitive game works against it yeah it's it's it's a sweaty game like playing that game at the preview it's like oh you got to be into this shit like it feels like a from soft game for from soft fucking nerds in a way that i like but there are a lot of you there are a lot of me and like i i again i think the people who are gonna find this game and flock to this game are gonna find and flock to it now the amount of those people that own a nintendo switch 2 not as like those people are used to playing these games on other consoles in fact when was the last from soft game that came out for switch to or for a nintendo platform right we're not talking about dark souls remastered exactly like that's the thing is like at launch wow yeah and so it's just it's such a weird thing i like it as an experiment i like it just as a i'm i want to see how this works if this works you know how long does this last does it last you know yeah i have so many questions with it but listen they said 2026 did they i don't remember that yeah okay i believe they said 2026 and so i i expect this number and yeah that so besides that i don't expect any major games coming out from nintendo this year like there's always the chance that we get a surprise tomorrow that is something this year i just don't it doesn't feel right and i also don't think they need it no like they've had a very consistent year of titles that people are enjoying and buying like i don't think they that they had the one like megaton hit core gamer game because i think this year has really been about like the tamadachi lives and the pokemon pacopias and like that's excellent but then we have ocarina of time i think that really does kind of fill that spot for what they just need to do to check the box of a big game uh that that keeps like the core nintendo gamer happy and then that opens up next year you know i do think that after tomorrow well will know what January through December through March looks like for Nintendo and maybe a couple teases beyond but that's exciting.
4:45That's really exciting. One thing I'm surprised we didn't get here I wonder if there's a possibility tomorrow the DK challenge we got earlier this year. I'm surprised we didn't get a Zelda challenge. That's a really good call actually. That's something we should have predicted. That's something for sure we would have predicted. But yeah that's good and man I love that they actually gave out the physical cards if you did the challenge. I don't like that it was timed. Yeah. Especially the timing that it was. I'm like, oh, man. I'm not going to be able to go in there and do it for the Bonanza challenges because I did all the retro game ones.
5:15But that was a really cool idea that's not fully fleshed out yet, but I can see them sticking with and coming up with some really cool stuff. Because, plus, can you imagine if they did a Mario one for us? Oh, my God. Give us an excuse to go back. Give me a reason to boot up Odyssey again? Yeah, come on. Man, I was watching. Somebody posted gameplay of Odyssey on social and I was watching and I'm like, man, I love this game so much. I love it because we always talk about throwing the axe in God of War and swinging in Spider-Man. Rolling in Mario Odyssey. Rolling and then jumping. Throwing the hat, bouncing off the hat.
5:45Such a fun moveset. They took what felt so good of the long jump from Mario 64. But what if we just did it five different ways that you can chain link? If tomorrow they came out and said Mario Odyssey 2, I'd be pretty happy. I'd be happy. There's a number of things they could do with a 3D Mario. I would not be upset with Mario Odyssey 2. Mario Galaxy 3 I know would make people pop off. And hey man, I've said things like this before and then been wrong because Nintendo always finds a way. I don't know that I'd be upset about any path they go down with 3D Mario. I agree. Because I think there was a time when had they shown a 3D Mario and it was another one in the style of 3D world that I would be let down.
6:26Literally I was going to say the same thing. If they said that tomorrow, I'd be so okay with that. I think DK Bonanza did so much for satiating me where i'm like that that scratched both my dk itch and my 3d platformer itch in a way that's like yo if y 'all want to do another 3d world dude that's a that'd be a fun way to spend a 2027 i would love it yeah i can't wait for now let's talk about video game news
6:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:remember if you're watching live you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on youtube.com slash kind of funny games i heard we still got quite a few super chats in from our previous show of course you just reacted to the zelda direct for the 40th anniversary We'll get to some of those later. We couldn't do this without our producers over on Patreon.com slash kind of funny. So thank you to Omega Buster, Delaney the Psalm Twining, and Michael Pezzavento. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. We have seven stories today. A Baker's Dozen!
7:28That was good. I'm excited for the Rope Report today because this is a rare one where I'm on the show and I've not prepped it. Oh. Yeah, this is a Greg prepped show because he went in there, I think, last night and prepped it because we had such a busy morning.
7:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:So I wouldn't have had time to prep the show today. So let's start with story number one. PlayStation is reportedly working on a Killzone remake. This is from Andy Robinson at Video Games Chronicle. PlayStation is reportedly planning to revive the Killzone series, with a new remaster or remake currently in the early stages of development. That's according to MP1st, which claims that original Killzone developer Gorilla Games is working with an external studio on a Killzone remaster slash remake. The publication speculates that this could be a revamp of the original 2004 game. According to its sources, the Killzone project was supposed to be Gorilla's next focus after Horizon Hunter's Gathering, but plans changed following the recent division or sorry the recent decision to allegedly delay that project and pivot away from live service apparently the majority of gorilla's staff are said to be working on the multiplayer game part of gorilla will likely switch to kill zone after hunters gathering ships it's claimed with the rest focusing on horizon 3 the kill zone series was once playstation's flagship franchises with six installments released across ps3 ps4 and handheld consoles in the nine years following its 2004 debut however killzone hasn't seen a proper release since 2013's ps4 launch game killzone shadowfall in the decade since gorilla shifted focus to the horizon series which according to art director roy posma the studio was keen to do after years of creating gritty shooters uh i'm gonna skip forward a bit actually i don't need the rest of this we got the context we needed Tim Hillzone a return to it what does that do for you I'm going to come off very negative here so I'm sorry guys I know some people are going to be really upset about what I'm saying some people will be like damn Tim you're really on it I think coming from me this means a little bit more because of just like how big of a fanboy I am of like wanting some of these companies to succeed and like when I like them doing good things and they've done good things for me.
9:41I want to believe that they're going to continue doing things. I'm a little disillusioned with PlayStation right now. Sure. And I think that I'm a new member to that cast of people. I was not a believer in that. I feel like so many times I'm hearing conversations about how bad the PS5 generation is, and I just don't agree with them. I have had such a good time with the hardware, with the software coming out for it. I don't really care if it's exclusive or not, if it's cross-gen with ps4 because i'm playing on ps5 and getting all the bells and whistles that mean a lot to me but with the live service push with everything that we've seen with the games that have been coming out and the the lack of first-party playstation studios output at a steady clip that we were getting the end of the ps4 early ps5 generation it's finally catching up to me tim yetis to the point where i'm like i hear news like this and i'm just like oh okay this doesn't sound good like i don't think that this is the right move this sounds like a move made from a company that i don't want to say is desperate but they're closer to that than they should be i think they're talking about playstation or gorilla playstation okay i think playstation i think that this you know this news this or this this story comes from the failure already of horizon hunting grounds or whatever we just keep seeing all of these like well let's try this let's try this and the i'm a big fan of remakes and i'm a big fan of going back to old games and being able to re-experience them in new ways hot up the heels of halo campaign evolved coming out and i loved that i had a great time with it but it did not set the world on fire and i know people could argue Well, it didn't need to.
11:26Halo was on PlayStation and it didn't sell that well. Killzone's not going to. A remake of Killzone is just a, it's a niche product that at the least, I think is a distraction for them to just come up with something that they feel like they can get out to continue making money and to continue making games. That is a very pessimistic viewpoint. But with everything that's been going on, I just, I'm not feeling great about PlayStation. yeah i i i agree with you as far as the disillusioned feeling and i think early on early on in the generation we were in such a strong place when we get ratchet and clengrift apart uh returnal god of war ragnarok spider-man 2 i think right now we're really feeling the effects of a lot of bad decisions uh when we're talking about the live service push and when we're talking about studios getting shut down and all these different things right we're we have such a gap of games that should have came out that didn't come out um because instead of working on another remake blue point was working on a god of war multiplayer game and then that didn't pan out and then they try to pitch something else but they couldn't and then got shut down and now they're gone naughty dog was working on last of us online and then that didn't pan out and so now we're waiting on intergalactic right like i i can sit here for a while and talk about the different studios that had projects like that that didn't pan out or studios that had projects like that that did come out and are making no splash i'm looking at concord i'm looking at marathon i'm looking at horizon hunters gathering which i know isn't out yet but it's gonna have the same story if it does come out you know what i mean i i feel like this generation has been such a result of playstation and their studios listening to the devil on their shoulder yeah and not even paying attention not even knowing that there's an angel on the shoulder going hey just do what you already been doing just keep going because we talk about the steady clip of games that we got before and i'm i'm of the mind that like what i consider the peak of at least my playstation hype 2017 17 i'll even say 2016 through 2019 like that second half of the ps4 era we were eaten you know what i mean like we were getting uncharted 4 you're getting horizon um zero dawn you're getting god of war 2018 spider-man all that stuff and i think to some extent these games being lined up in such a way part of it is setting up your studios for success i also think a big about luck in this scenario is that you can increase your chances for that luck to happen you know what i mean like i think for all the things that they tripped over for this generation you just didn't give yourself the chance to have a year that could have a lineup like that that's very well said and you know bringing up the the luck it's like it was luck for nintendo to launch the switch with breath of the wild and mario odyssey months later yeah and a mario kart uh you know that hit really hard because it it was an amazing game in many ways the definitive mario kart game but it was stuck on the wii u uh so very few people played it relative to how many people want to play a mario kart game so for all intents and purposes it was a brand new mario kart for most people um that was luck but you look at nintendo and to be fair not every year has uh been even great i would say but i think that every year has been at the very least good for Nintendo since the Switch launched.
15:00And there's been some years that were downright amazing. And a lot of that is planning and thinking about all of the studios that they have to work with. And, you know, bringing up Nintendo is always a complicated thing because there's the inherent scope of those projects that's different because of the technical limitations. Some might say, hey, maybe there's something there. Maybe there's something to that in terms of a successful strategy in the video games market instead of needing to push bigger budgets, bigger scope bigger production value more and more and more constantly because you know we we sit here and we don't really like the push that they did for live service i know there are some fans i think they're silly um because we look at the results of it i don't know if there's if there's anybody at this point i don't know like if you would ask me a few years ago i would have been like oh yeah i'm excited to try the most player whatever game yeah now that we're here it's like stop please stop trying so much of that was listening to the devil but it also was them kind of being like yo we're spending so much money on last of us 2 and spider-man like we need to figure out a way to like make money separately but it's like well you don't get to just fully pivot to that it's like we need to continue putting out what people expect from you and when you set the expectations that high because you you bring up the 2017 to 2019 20 whatever it's like i really would push that to 2021 like i do think that the the push through of the into the ps5 but it almost doesn't matter about Tom of the Generation because so many of the games were on PS4, like all the way through God of War Ragnarok.
16:27Like they were cooking. And some of those, the PlayStation showcases, the famed PlayStation showcases, like we talk about their E3 conferences, right? And how exciting they were in the mid 2010s. But I really think that the highlights, the peak was those two PlayStation showcases leading into the PS5 where it was just like, oh, wow, they still have gas in the tank. It's not just that beautiful run with Spider-Man and Horizon and Last of Us and Ghost of Tsushima. It's like, no, no, no, there's more. And now it's like, there's nothing. And, you know, that's being overly dramatic. But I don't think it's comparable to look at the then and the now and to make the argument that it's as good as it was, as consistent as it was.
17:17And I look at this and there are Killzone fans out there. And I'm sure there are some people that are really excited about this in the same way. I'm a halo fan. I am excited. I was excited. And I ended up loving halo combat or campaign evolved. But again, it didn't do what it needed to do. And to go to potentially be going back to a franchise, the halo killer. Now at a time that Taylor's killed itself again, being dramatic, but it's like, let's just be real. Like the PS3 with kill zone and all that stuff. That was the era that we were looking at place. that was before the glory days yeah so going back to this era i don't know if it's the right move and like i'm this is me looking at this and like i am the franchise guy i love the big big ips i love sequels i love remakes that's just the type of person i am we still don't have a new uncharted coming out somebody's not making a new uncharted but we might be getting a kill zone i mean when you put it like that yeah i i i'm 100 with you as far as i don't understand the kill zone move like if this is real if this is what we're talking about as far as hunters gathering and then we move on to kill zone instead of just directly to horizon 3 maybe they have multiple teams working on both at the same time but i like a port i would understand because here's the thing i'm in for it for like a game preservationist aspect oh yeah port kill zone make sure kill zone remains playable you know maybe do like a kill zone thing here and there a full remake of kill zone feels so and necessary to me and i don't want that to be a indictment on if you love kill zone you don't deserve a new game i don't want to come off like that at all yeah no i'm so you're right and and to take it a step further because i want to be clear here if it was a new kill zone i'd be having a different conversation i still wouldn't think it's the right move but i wouldn't be like oh man a remake of kill zone though i'm like i think my thing is the wrong move i think it's a it's bizarre decision making from the stance of horizon 2 ended with such a cliffhanger that like why didn't we just immediately move on to horizon 3 like the kind of cliffhanger that horizon 2 left off on it's like oh we should be playing horizon 3 in like three years after that or four years after that the fact that we're taking these detours instead of going directly to that and like i understand horizon might not be everybody's cup of tea but it is one of your best-selling first party franchises it reviews well yeah fuck the haters make horizon they clearly are into this franchise and investing in it like my dream route for gorilla would be make horizon 3 and then work on a new ip like and again no hate to to kill zone and even if it's a new kill zone game cool not my cup of tea but at least we're making steps maybe you maybe you find a way to revamp kill zone and make it into a thing that's a broader success but for the evolution of gorilla to go from killzone to then make horizon it's like dog if they made a new game a new open world a linear whatever they want to tell a new story i'd be so into that because they've proven that they can make a new thing and make it really interesting like the world of horizon in my opinion has really interesting lore and story and like look when you look at something you know it's horizon and that's you You can't say that about a lot of open world adventure games.
20:32Yeah. And identity all over that thing. And I think the things that people don't like about Horizon are easily fixable in a new game or a new IP or whatever. But I don't know, man. We'll see what actually happens here. The Horizon Hunters Gathering thing does bum me out because that was a game that at reveal, I was intrigued. I was like, all right, it seems like you're doing kind of an Elden Ring Night Rain with a cuter art style and having it in the Horizon world. but then you hear about ah shit it's not panning out people aren't fucking with it from the play test they're redoing it to make it a non-live service thing i'm like man no w's in this live service situation yeah absolutely none let's move on the happier news story number two the legend
21:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:of zelda 40th anniversary nintendo direct happened we have a quick recap for you the movie is called the legend of zelda just that clean clean it works it's out the 30th of april 2027 we also got the announcement of the orchestral tour stateside begins in chicago on february 22nd 2027 and then finally ocarina of time remake lands on november 5th 2026 we got a big gameplay breakdown of course if you want to see our reactions and our breakdown of it go watch the games cast recorded before this and our live reaction that we did at 7 a.m pacific time but tim how are you feeling about all this i'm feeling really good man meta 13 or 318 in the super chat saying zelda concert's coming to san francisco in october 2027 let's go a little later than i'd like it that's over a year away but you know what it's coming and we'll be there and i can't wait and it's going to be fantastic starting this thing off we didn't even really talk about it in the the breakdown just because there's not much to say but that opening with the orchestra starting small going through the games adding more and more uh performers and instruments and choir like there's there's something so amazing about zelda and celebrating in this direct of going through the 40 years having all or most of the key stakeholders and faces that we know relating to this franchise that is now four decades old it's older than us you know and to to see how much it's progressed and like to redefine genres of video games as many times as it has and for so many of these entries to mean so much to all of us like if you're watching this chances are you're a Zelda fan and chances are there's a Zelda that you rock for and it might be one of the big main ones but it might be something that's a little weird.
22:59Zeldas can do that they can be weird and watching a lot of those montages it's like such a nice reminder that yeah man when you have that much confidence and talent being put into something like you you've earned people's trust that hey even if you might not like this thing or that thing this is going to be good this is going to be special and i do feel that way about uh what we saw from ocarina of time where it's like hey not my favorite art style the some of the choices they they made leaning into the threads and fabrics as like a uh a theme or motif of the game's art style not my favorite thing and i said this earlier but uh just so people understand like i don't need it to be exactly what it was i look at link's awakening and i think that that art style was so inspired and it stuck with the spirit and theme of the original in a way that i felt was additive and i think that that's just a personal like thing and then that's okay because i don't look at this and go oh i hate it i look and go oh it's not my favorite thing ever but i have full trust that they have the artistic vision to pull it off and i think that it's going to work incredibly well within the game and everything they show to the game i have trust in them i believe in them it's zelda they've done it with starfox they've done it with paper mario thousand year door they've done it with metroid prime i believe in them with the remakes at this point um and when they're presented this way so very hyped very well said i i agree and i one of the things i kept saying before we saw this gameplay reveal is that i i feel like nintendo and everybody holds zelda ocarina as sacred and so i was very curious to see how much they touch it up as far as gameplay structure any of any of that stuff and to see it look so faithful yet at the same time look so different i that part of it pleases me i'm with you as far as the visual identity does it all the way vibe with me but it's the same thing you said as far as it being such a personal just like what my eyes are pleased by sort of thing like i not everything i can i can't pinpoint everything as far as oh this is why it doesn't do it oh the lighting is this instead of this i can't really tell you but there's something about it where I'm like alright cool, I'll still play it though this looks cool, this looks awesome, this looks like a modern interpretation of what Zelda Ocarina of Time is and I think the fact that it's still Ocarina I can still kind of see the heart and soul of Ocarina in this game as we're seeing the gameplay that does enough for me.
25:24I mean I think that such an important little thing that I know meant a lot to me and I imagine means a lot to millions of people that were watching that when we get to the trailer bit at the end and we're seeing kind of a lot of the different enemies and just the way they're animated when we see the the i'm not good with the zelda names but like the little the plant guy with the venom tongue yeah the way it lunges forward there we go i don't even the way it uh uh like lunges forward or like when there's the big like wolf guy yeah like the way he's moving around it's like the weird little motions and the uh hit box on them and like the the attack range those are the things that make video games video games where it's like you can watch it and you can feel how it is going to play because it's it's muscle memory but it's kind of more than that right it's like just embedded inside you that that feeling of how it's supposed to be and without playing this i can already tell they are nailing what ocarina of time is supposed to be what it's supposed to feel like so great job great job um do you happen to have super chats open i have a bunch of super chats uh that we missed from the last one here um funny in chasels link better have a gun in this we'll get a boomerang boomerang is like it's kind of a gun if you think about it yeah project out the super chat function in the back is so bad because it refreshes and then it
26:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:like oh she's everything down and when i had it all lined up and while you look for one meta 318 in chat said in the super chat says zelda concert coming to sf in october 2027 you shouted that out earlier let's go i'm here james peter says happy ocarina day i'm stoked i never beat the og but i watched my older brother beat it excited to play it for myself on switch too hell yeah it's i i do think this is gonna be so many people's first time with ocarina and that's so special because like we know it's gonna hit we know it's gonna hold up oh yeah also shout out to dougman who says i'd go with the bow bless but that's just me that's a good point i could have just said the bow is a gun because the bow is way closer to the gun i woke up this morning at 5 30 a.m so i can watch the zelda direct so i'm not all the way there today ray says watching live tax from ireland never get to see you guys live love you guys thank you so much thank you for hanging out with us um can i tell you something about something magical about zelda i play i've only started playing Zelda games in like college I want to say it was when I was in college when I was like 18 when I played Ocarina for the first time and for context I was like 2011-2012 somewhere somewhere around there and like for me I feel like I Zelda still holds a magic like a level of nostalgia as if I played it as a kid yeah and I think that speaks to just how well realized of a franchise this is when you think of like the zelda elements that flow throughout the games and how they're able to retain this level a sense of you know this is zelda identity this is zelda music this is the triforce this is the world this is the triforce link get like the quote-unquote legend part of legend of zelda is so strong yeah that i don't know there's something about when they were doing that symphony in the beginning part of the direct where i'm like yeah dude this means something to me even though i feel like it doesn't go back as far for me as it does for people that played it truly as kids yeah no i mean it's i know how annoying i can be about music but the reality is zelda deserves every bit and more of how annoying i could be praising it like it just every it's not even just the music it's the it's the melody of the sounds of interacting right picking up the rupees what that sounds like opening the chest what that sounds like they they make moments matter so much more than a lot of other games do and other games do it too but you know when you're playing the zelda game and it's not just because oh i've heard this before and also their use of literal instruments as plot devices and as like something that's so core to the zelda experience like oh it's special man uh michael says first time watching live greetings from the philippines hype for anything zelda never got to play ocarina of time so the remake is a day one purchase for me hell yeah uh beans got game says my mic is so locked in on this ocarina of time remake hell yeah yeah mike was silent the entire time he's focusing he's taking it in he's taking it all in yeah i can't believe he just played it for the first time yeah and he loves it yeah you know let's speak so strongly to how good zelda is yeah yeah um i think part of it is the nintendo magic too because even though i didn't play ocarina until 2012 i before that was i played smash 64 when i was like five years old and was hooked on it and that's that was my first time seeing link and link was cool as hell in that game yeah like he was one of these i'd say him and fox were like the cool character and samus the cool characters yeah um cloud master says barrett looking at this and just thinking i'm gonna get so many points in fantasy critic oh yeah i'm sure that's gonna review pretty well i mean how could it not brian bogan says links first spoken words or brov how i play this bloody thing in it question for you yeah what game do you think gets a higher metacritic this year between gta 6 and zelda ocarina of time i think both have weird factors against them yeah you know i think that there kind of is against them well i mean against them getting perfect scores okay okay sure sure sure like that's we literally are talking about follow-ups or remakes to games that get 10 out of 10s from uh websites i i think that uh gta is going to be um very harshly criticized i think higher than other games um i don't even think it's a bad thing i think that like with the with everything we know about it and the production value and budgets and cost and time and everything it's like yeah like i do think that there is a higher standard it will be held to and i think there'll be a higher level of scrutiny when it comes to uh how it improved or didn't improve um the social parody stuff yeah then the zelda side i mean it's a remake and it's a remake of one of the best games of all time and already i think it's proven lightly divisive at the the very least of is this art style appealing to people or not and i think that that is going to affect things some way is there a need for this game like are they doing enough to modernize it um versus just hey the old one exists i think there's gonna be a lot of people that review with that in mind and that could affect the score i don't know which has a higher metacritic i think gta red dead redemption 2 right now on metacritic has a 97 is insane and i i i see where you're coming from for the gta aspect of it i i still think it's going to do incredibly well like i think it's going to be one of the top two highest rated games on of the year on metacritic of the year yeah of the year for sure potentially all time potentially all time yeah that's what we're talking about like there is a potential that i i think that i expect gta to be over an idea on metacritic yeah i expect it to be over 95 um me too yeah yeah and then you look at uh ocarina i feel like has the grandfathered in like yeah you know like you were talking about a game that's already the highest one of the highest metacritic games of all time they're just putting out that game again like sure there's a how does art style hit for you sort of thing but the art style like even though i'm i'm not like blown away by the art style it's still very i guess like straightforward it's not it's not ugly like i don't look at this and go oh i don't it's not like starfox where when i first looked at starfox i was like jesus christ what is this yeah but i i think there's a lot of people that will think that it is i i think we're in a place in time right now where we are so burned by ai bullshit and we're so like the the gaming culture around looking at stuff and being like it looks like unreal slop like we just jump to it so quickly and it's like there's no getting away from that just because yeah man we see a lot of developers and publishers just shit out nonsense for us and then we also see people care so much about making something right and then we see somebody fucking faking it with ai and it's like there's just too many factors at play and like there's too many buzzwords for us to jump to that goes away from like do i like how it looks or do i not like how it looks do i understand the creative intent do i not there's other conversations at play and that is how culture works that is how criticism works where things come out at the time they come out and they are criticized then and around the other things that are happening at that point i guarantee you that if you uh search unreal or um ai or dlss5 in like a control effort when ocarina reviews come out it's going to come up in a fair amount of them sure i i guess my thing is i just view that as shorthand for saying what like trying to describe why something isn't hitting for you right like i think a lot of people might not have the tools or the language to go oh and this lighting feature doesn't look as good as it doesn't look like this or i you know the textures here look like xyz thing i think because what you're saying we see enough of ai slop unreal inspired remakes or whatever just on social media that like it is an easy shorthand so like i guess for me when i see the zelda thing i see the lighting in particular and there's something about the lighting and the look of the characters for me where i'm like it doesn't look as stylized as i personally would like a zelda thing to look which is why i jumped to this gives like i put zelda in unreal engine i there's also just me making clear i agree with what you're saying and it being shorthand but what we're saying is it's shorthand for bad things and i'm saying this in the context of i i can see reviews getting hit i can see the number going down because of those things yeah um where it's like yeah ocarina of time is the highest rated game of all time on metacritic but if the review is talking about these words i'm saying it's not a 10 anymore it starts going down and at what point at what point is at an 8.5 sure um do we have any other super chats uh matt sanders says looks great but not having a bigger hyrule field was a little disappointing they could have done something more there but they put the work into the towns and yeah that's the other thing with the reviews is i think that everybody wants something a little bit different from an ocarina of time remake and i think that uh that's it's a remake like that's that's just how it's gonna gonna go and like there's gonna be some things where it's like i think it's a major bummer that there's loading screens in this game i'm not that wouldn't affect my review score you know like i don't think that's going to bother me enough but i do think that getting rid of that stuff and it being like whoa they really realized what i've had in my head for ocarina of time that would raise the review score but they might do that in a bunch of other ways i can't wait i trust them i feel that i think they're in my opinion i think they're tackling this in the safest way possible for review scores i think if they touched up Hyrule Field to make it different, like make it feel different or give new pathing or whatever.
36:22Then you open yourself up for, hmm, this isn't how I would have done this, or this isn't what I remember it being. Like, I think the fact that it's so one for one, as far as just the structure of the game, gives people less of things to ding it for, because then the conversation turns into, all right, well, this was the masterpiece that came out in 1998. 98 i can really only dig it for the new things that they're adding in there or maybe the things from the original that maybe i didn't like but if i'm digging and now we're talking about visuals or whatever and it's how much does that weigh on your opinion of the entire product like the entire product is still just straight up ocarina at a time plus plus some things uh cooper says i'm sorry tim but you were wrong they went all in like starfox i don't know exactly what you're referring to there but i don't agree even with what you're saying i think this and starfox are very different uh i think that looking at this like them going all in would have been fully voice acted and like like upping the presentation level for the entire game and i think that there's clearly some things here that i'm like oh they didn't like the loading screens and like things like that um i am interested in the vo i'm interested in the cut scenes like we had cut scenes in the other they had dialogue i i'm not intimately familiar with the script of ocarina of time so i don't know if what we were seeing in the the trailer is exactly the same as it was in the original game or if they're adding stuff but a big thing for me with starfox was they changed all the dialogue and made adjustments but then they also added so much new story stuff in between the missions and it doesn't seem like they're doing that here um and again very different types of games i don't i don't necessarily even want uh the starfoxification of ocarina of time but i do we know the pricing of this like there's there's people are saying 60 okay for physical or digital or that's a good question i actually don't know for physical i don't know i can i can look it up as we talk um garrett says ocarina time looks awesome just wanted to show appreciation for y 'all being up early and share some love for the four p champ nope andy they dropped a godzilla minus zero trailer this morning too love you guys i can't wait to watch that hell yeah right after
38:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the show got a c minus one sixty dollars digital let me see who can find people in chat are saying $70 physical yeah I mean I believe that that's not right 70 physical 16 yeah digital Brian Bogan says Nintendo reveals will always be kind of disappointing to me because no matter how excited I am they always spend so much time on features new to the series but have been around for 20 years and other games it just is what it is I agree with you like I do think that it's at the point now that they've raised the bar in so many other ways and I look at the switch to and it's finally 4k and it has HDR and it can do 120 frames per second and like they just do so much right and they they still just make some calls that like i i write it off because i love what they're talking about i love the announcements but it's just like i think a lot of it is down right bad and i think that a lot of talking about the the zelda notes and like the some of the features they're adding there's a fun gimmicky thing to the ocarina and being able to sing into your switch too that's the nintendo weird stuff i like when you're just adding busy work and you're just adding shit it's like who if the question is who is this for and i don't have a single answer even if I don't like that guy yeah what are we doing here I have fun with it I think like it's almost akin to watching my nephew show me his new dance moves he fucking does this dumb little dance and I'm like you're cute I love you right that's kind of how I feel about Nintendo presentations where they're like and this is we added a new jump button and I'm like yeah you go you're cute I like you Nintendo that's kind of where I'm at with I'm with you there too like You guys know that.
39:59I love that stuff. I think that watching your little cousin do a funny dance move is one thing. Like having to watch your cousin take over dinner and take dinner that you really like and put on a whole presentation. It's a different thing. Sure, sure. I feel you.
40:18Hero of Time says, If someone whose entire online persona revolves around Zelda, this looks exactly how I dreamed. I'm so stoked to play this in November. Glad nothing else is major is happening. Kai Wilkins says, to bless his UE5 point, I think my only negative for Ocarina of Time is the lighting. Everything has character, especially when you walk into Castletown, but the lighting doesn't. Some shots of the dungeon it does, but the overworld doesn't. And then Zaxxon says, I'll have to get used to the graphics, but otherwise I'm not a fan of the changes to the equipped items going from three to one.
40:43I'm worried about how that will change, how the puzzles and other gameplay moments feel. Yeah, man, a lot of stuff. They showed a lot, and I'm sure we'll hear a lot more in the coming weeks.

44:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:hope who writes in and says tim slash bless if i've never played a zelda game before so should i play ocarina or breath of the wild i think you are the luckiest person on the planet yeah play ocarina of time remake when it comes out you are going to have a ball i think that is going to be the greatest entry point like this game we know is going to be awesome and i think that it's going to have all the modernizations that you need for it to be a great experience in 2026 and then once you fall in love with the characters and idea and concepts breath of the wild is just it's a different beast and it's not for everyone but man it's for a lot of people but i don't think that you like going from breath of the wild to back to ocarina i don't think is an additive experience as much as the other way i agree 100 take maybe take a little bit of a break between also both beefy games like i imagine ocarina might take like what 30 hours i imagine your first time since a sweet 25 25 somewhere around that and then breath of the wild is going to take you forever forever and so yeah make sure you have the energy when you start up ocarina breath of the wild because that's going to be a journey for you let's move on to story number three life is strange developer don't nod looks primed for layoffs i am reading from oisin kinky at rock paper shotgun it is unfortunately that time of day again because this truly does seem to be a daily occurrence at this point back in june things weren't looking so hot for life a strange studio don't nod as it appeared that they'd be out of cash come this november now it looks like the studio is preparing for layoffs as spotted and translated over on reset era don't nod shared a press release where they explained that they were embarking on a, quote, transformation initiative to maintain their competitiveness, end quote.
45:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The release goes on to explain, against a backdrop of profound changes in the economic conditions in the video game industry and its financing, coupled with a deterioration in the group's key economic indicators, the company believes it is necessary to adapt its operating model. In this context, management has convened the company's employee representative bodies for a meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd, 2026. This is the first meeting of the CSE's information and consultation procedure prior to the potential implementation of a job protection plan. At the same time, management has begun negotiations with the representative labor union within the company, end quote.
46:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This obviously is an outright confirmation that layoffs are going to take place, but the vague description of a transformation initiative alongside mentions of a job protection plan and labor union negotiations certainly doesn't instill a particular sense of confidence. Unfortunately, none of this is especially surprising given the earlier reporting of running out of cash. On top of that, despite some critical claim here and there, recent releases don't appear to have done well enough to properly sustain the studio. In the past three years, Dontnod have managed to put out five games including the likes of Jacant, Lost Records, Boomerage, and earlier this year, Aphelion.
47:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The latter most received fairly average reviews while the other two were generally appraised quite positively but positivity doesn't pay the bills solidarity with any devs that may be affected by these changes oh man i mean you know all the standard things like this really sucks and i hope that it doesn't affect anybody but as few people as possible if it has to go down but having to go down it's just where we're at now and like this is so scary bless like the industry is getting smaller and smaller and when we're talking about groups like don't nod potentially not existing this is the path towards not existing yeah right and uh that is scary because that there's not a end future there that's like oh well then a couple of them are gonna get a small team together and they'll come back and it's like we're getting to the point that we're we see down the lines for so many different um ways it can go and the majority of them are negative there is always going to be a shining example we're gonna have to get to that in the next story but that is lightning in a bottle and we're at a point now where i don't know like earlier today we're talking about playstation you brought a blue point being gone yeah and it's like every time that comes up it hurts my soul how are we at a point that blue point doesn't exist that's crazy they made games that people loved that sold well yeah they made games that people love that sold well and they don't exist yeah like you look at how look how good shadow colossus remake was look at how good demon souls was right and like we can get into it in a deeper conversational sense of how well they translate original artist intent but at the end of the day it's like you could tell that a very talented team worked on both of those games and to have that talent dissipated and i'm sure some of those people probably got jobs at other studios but i'm sure many of those people probably went to a different industry i have multiple friends that worked in dev that are like dude it's impossible to find a job in video games because like people just don't have space everybody's getting laid off everybody's looking for a job i just gotta go find a job in an entirely different industry that's happening more and more and more and the talent like the talent that made a shadow colossus remake and the talent that made the demon souls remake and the uncharted collection and the That talent doesn't exist in the games industry anymore.
49:37Like not nearly in the same way. To speak on Dontnod, of course Dontnod is a studio that I'm a big fan of when we talk about the original Life is Strange. And, you know, it's a heartbreaking thing about this for me is that I think if you trace back like the Life is Strange lineage and both Dontnod's input on it and then also Deck Nine, which is also a studio that seems like it's going through it. you have two studios that work on in a property that so many people love i love life is strange greg loves life is strange jenna garcia loves life is strange roger recording loves life is strange so many people i run into who you know i might meet somebody casually at a bar or in public or whatever and if they're into video games there's a small chance they might be into life is strange because that game did break through in a really cool way and has a lot of cool things going on with it and multiple entries that mean different things to different people life is strange is a hot topic game yeah you can go to a hot topic and they could have an entire merch section for and like that's you can't say that about every game a lot of games kind of buy their way into like oh we have merch you don't get to choose that stuff though when you have like iconography that people care about and want to put on their bodies in a certain way you have cross through to culture and life is strange did that yeah and has done that a handful of times and so like people people love that property and it sucks to see and i don't know man maybe this is a jason schreier video or article one day right like how do we get to the place where square the owner of the ip right stops working with don't nod for life is strange starts working with deck nine and then life is strange still has some good entries under them but then also tanks in a weird way and it's like what's up like why couldn't we figure this out in a way better
51:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:way um so heartbreaking i hope they figure it out i know we've talked uh in recent years about them changing their business plan as well because they had different verticals you know they had just which is more of like an indie inspired vertical it feeling kind of fit into their action rpg vertical and they're trying to tackle things that way lost records was supposed to be their narrative style game and i i there's not been a consistency i think as far as both success and um greatness here which saddens me yep large hog gamer in the chat says life is strange is not a hot franchise it's not about that it connects with people it's like there's a level of connect i'm not saying it's the biggest thing ever but it's it's big enough that people it it resonates as a video game that to your point bless like i do think when you're talking to a real human being in real life and they say they like video games there is a chance it's life is strange yeah i'm looking up life strange sales right now because i don't believe it's not a hot video game like life is strange for the kind of game that is you're talking about a game that came out in 20 i want to say it was 2015 maybe it was 2016 one of those years as an indie title developed by the people who made remember me and it had such a breakout success like no that's a hot title i I don't know what you're talking about.
52:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:So I would argue with you in terms of sales. It's hard for me to Google at the same time. I'm reading here that Life is Strange has sold 20 million copies for Life Strange 1. Yeah, that's big. That's hot. It's not Call of Duty, but it's hot. Story number four, great games are selling great. Greg divided this up into multiple different parts. Let's start off with part A. The Blood of Dawnwalker passes 1 million copies sold in just two days. This is Michael Kripe at IGN. single player RPG and new IP the Blood of Dawnwalker has sold 1 million copies just two days after its launch publisher Bandai Namco and developer Rebel Wolves have announced the milestone was reached just 48 hours after the Blood of Dawnwalker launched for PC, PS5, Xbox and Series X on September 3rd I'll pause there we don't really need all the other details but good for them, that's awesome yes, give me one sec I want to look up What Blood of Don Walker is at on Metacritic.
53:44Because it is selling very, very well. Very, very quickly. I had to guess. I'm going to say it's at an 85. At an 83. An 83. Still good. But still very good. Very, very good. One of the stories that we've seen fail so many times. Yeah. Of story developers getting together, trying it again. Let's do a different swing at this. Hell yeah, man. I can't believe it's doing this well. That's incredible. Let's like hope for that. Good games that are selling well. Yeah. You know? hopefully with a system that can support it. I think that's awesome. And for it being a new IP, that's just great. Fantastic.
54:17We want to see that. And we want to see success for all the different types of games. But new IP are obviously a commodity. Especially for something so ambitious to try to be like, yo, we're going to be compared to The Witcher 3. In a direct way because The Witcher 3 Remastered is being enhanced and coming out later this month. yeah but they got which kind of sucks but also like great for me but sucks for i think the blood of don walker people i'm sure they would not have wanted that but even still like we're doing great yeah yeah in fact i think that in a weird way this might be good marketing for them because everyone's like hyped on witcher and it's like yo you got a month until that yeah like jump into
54:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:this new thing ride the wave people like it it's it's good yeah um part b to this is capcom has hit or has another hit on his hands as on a musha sells 1 million in a day this is from annie robinson at vgc capcom times like this bless isn't it crazy it's crazy on a musha is back it's crazy man it's a hit i never ever would have thought that on a musha would get a reboot i never thought it would be good and i never thought it would sell well like this like not this fast i thought it was gonna do well i remember we were talking a lot about like how well he was just gonna do uh in the stack september and i was like i'm not worried about it it's multi-platform it's capcom they're putting love into this thing it's gonna do fine it's doing great yeah can i tell you if you'd ask me at the beginning of the year or if you showed me at the beginning of the year how many posts i would see on reddit twitter whatever of people being like guys i don't i just don't know which to play should i play blood of dawn walker or on a musha and people are genuinely like i want to play these two amazing games that are coming out at the same time it's like wow like what a weird combination of games that like i would have thought maybe would have just came out and came in under the radar at least a little bit but no they're both really they're not they're doing really well both so so great like again as a lifelong emusha fan i i'm beside myself yeah i loved the game i loved it so much and yeah i'm like oh i want a sequel so bad we're gonna get one man we might even get my remaster on emusha 3 demon siege but you guys don't need to play it just let me play it we should three demon siege oh yeah and they're just naming these games huh demon sections that's pretty sick yeah i've told you about this this is the one where they go to paris in present day and then jean reno's there and they sent him to feudal japan in the past i'm sure you told me about this to paris it's crazy that's cool story number five double fine announces chaotic bus driving game thank you bus driver for pc this is sauramano at gamatsu double fine productions has announced thank you bus driver it'll be available for pc via steam gog humble store and itch.io release date was not announced um here's an overview of the day of the game via Double Fine.

57:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Thank You Bus Driver is a chaotic bus driving game where you take on the role of a town's bus driver just trying to get through the day with minimal rule breaking and maximum gratitude in the form of thank yous. Get behind the wheel and remember the three main priorities on your bus. No rule breaking. Your bus, your rules. Who cares that they change every single day? And that depot keeps adding new rules in that some of these rules are just itching to be broken. No matter, slap any of those annoying rule breakers to remind them of who runs the road. And if they're repeat offenders, revoke their bus privileges via the back door.
57:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Second one, stay on track. Getting to your next stop is all that matters. That might mean pulling up your map mid-turn, or it might mean a shortcut through the cornfield, avoiding pedestrians, incoming traffic, or the fence directly in front of you is optional. And then the third one, be on schedule. You have a tight timeline. Get to the next stop before your time runs out. and remember the only thing that fuels you is a happy rider the more thank yous the more time you have to get to the next stop all i have to say is video games are cool yeah man like they could just be anything and they could be this and i love that i love this looks so unique and i can't believe that somehow we're still seeing new art styles in video games yeah i mean this looks incredible like i love the art style so much um if you're an audio listener you gotta tune in like i don't you know how to describe this it has like a like a black and white almost like it was drawn on paper kind of feel but the graphics are 3d but all the characters and stuff look like they're 2d it's very weird but very cool and i want to shout out like double fine does it like nobody else does it this is their third game in within like a 10 month period and like i can't say this enough keeper is fantastic yeah man keeper is such a good fucking game and it's on ps5 they follow that up with kiln and now they got this weird looking thing that kind of makes me want to play it and they're doing their whole um uh kickstarter thing to green light and make more weird ideas it's like i love the studio so much and how they operate portland kevin says i played the bus driver demo at pax it's awesome hell yeah uh we have one more story story number six halloween the game devs seemingly patch out sex minigame in emergency pre-release fix this is lewis parker at kotaku emergency pre-release fix i wonder what would need to be fixed in such an emergency halloween the game ilphonic's multiplayer survival game based on the halloween film franchise received his first hot fix patch this morning however the game doesn't officially release until september 8th and is currently only available in advance access to those who pre-ordered the deluxe edition so what kind of game breaking bug could have possibly necessitated a sudden pre-release update it's possible it was the one that led a 56 year old character who was modeled modeled after a much beloved late actor sleep with its cast of underage teenagers oops as spotted by several users i didn't i missed this one as spotted by several users users on twitter last night halloween the game previously featured a rather tongue-in-cheek sex minigame the minigame is is clearly a play on the sex signals death slasher movie trope, which features multiple times, uh, in the Halloween franchise.
1:00:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Unfortunately, it seems the devs overlooked the fact that there is a specific outlier in the cast of under 18 teens that make up Halloween, the game's playable characters, the 56 year old Samuel Loomis, who shares his in game likeness with the deceased actor, Donald Pleasance, Jesus Christ. Oh man, it's bad. Plus it's just so bad. They're fixing it. So that's good. It was an emergency. How'd you let that slip? How? How'd you let that slip? How did you let that slip? You can't let that slip, brother. Oh, man. No. Much like Loomis, several of Halloween, the game's playable characters are also from the Halloween films, such as, for instance, the 17-year-old Annie Brackett.
1:01:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:As a result, it should come as no surprise that today's Hot Fix 1 patch for the Halloween game has outright removed the sex minigame in its entirety. While the Hot Fix 1 patch notes do not mention the minigame, several posts on the game's subreddit confirmed that it has been removed. The developers haven't referenced the minigame's disappearance in either the Halloween game's Discord server or any of his socials. Considering that the internet only caught on to this yesterday, I'd say that a sub 24-hour response time is pretty impressive. Still, if this is indeed the reason for their emergency pre-release patch, it's equally strange that nobody during the QA testing phase caught that letting the likeness of a deceased middle-aged actor sleep with underage characters might be a potential issue.
1:01:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:perhaps the devs can reintroduce the sex minigame in the future but program loomis to simply shake his head and disapproval at the site of the wardrobe instead uh we reached out to lophonic for comment yeah i mean look shout out to them for getting this fixed yeah oh for not noticing in the first place like that does seem crazy the qa wouldn't see that and go like this is bad um but yeah they fixed it they fixed it good that's such a yeah you gotta you can't let that happen you can't let that happen it happened man oh man that's tough i that's man tim we talked about a lot of big news oh we did and letting that get through was a big no-no big no-no big no-no but if i wanted something smaller say the tiniest news i need to know about where would i go you go to our last story the we news channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about story number seven we news clear obscure expedition 33 a painted symphony goes on an international tour in 2027 led by composer lorien testard testard uh vocalist alice duport persier and conductor daniel sigard the official concert dedicated to the game's original soundtrack will be presented for four exceptional performances in new york and los angeles come on man that might be worth the flight oh definitely and what's really cool too is uh the singer the vocalist Alice is from the game.
1:03:04She's the singer from the game. And she was doing the tour that they were doing over there. And she was pregnant and or left because she was pregnant. So I didn't expect her to be back for any shows. Like I thought that it was going to be like a like a replacement, which is cool. Obviously. Yeah. After kids, support the kid, all that stuff. I understand that. But the idea that I might actually get to see her. I gave up on that dream. so this is very very very cool to me i might have to go to new york or los angeles which one would you rather go to at this point well the new york ones at radio city music hall which i've never been to okay that's kind of cool i mean but new york is far new york is far yeah oh yeah that's
1:03:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:like a jog you just walk over to la ign gave valheim a 10 out of 10 as it moves to 1.0 hell yeah um ign reports forza horizon 6 is still planned to launch on ps5 this year despite not having a firm release date yet tetris has swung back at the trump administration's anti-immigrant ripoff well at tetris we believe in the power of connection and bringing people together not dividing them to our fans everywhere we love you we see you and we're grateful to have you in our community and quote that's what i'm talking about have some balls have some have some blocks you know what i mean come on i'm gonna play tetris tetris if i connected when i get home come on uh and then vgc reports says um or vgc reports i should say if it means less work in the same check i'll take it ea sports nhl 27 commentator says ai is used for some of his lines why did greg paste it in this way um all right cool what a quote what a quote i mean that's an accurate statement if it means less work in the same check i'll take it i'm gonna let you know this right now mr uh nhl 27 commentator that's not what it's gonna mean that might be what it means right now yeah let's check out next year let's see did you read the terms of service there what your contract says of like can your voice be used is the ai stuff just for this game what about the next game you know what about nhl uh 28 huh i mean it's gonna be an nhl fucking 2362 too at this point this man's gonna be in nhl games for the next a thousand years uh and that is it for we news um let's take a look at super chats real quick so people are saying ejrpg says uh ordered my ay and thor yesterday come on dude come on i love this thing yeah come on oh man i keep it i love that you're just strapped i keep that on me come on i love this thing oh yeah during the weekend i couldn't pull myself off of it let me hold it hold it yeah mess around with it yeah don't show don't show it to the you know don't show the screen because somebody might get mad um so cool it's so good it's like we live i can't believe it time man i have um which we'll call it i have esoteric ebb on there just ready to play i haven't started it yet but like i really want to play esoteric ebb i got let me check what other steam games i have on here because like there's an app called game native that lets you access your steam library and so you have blood dungeon on here i was playing ufo 50 the other day on this thing hell yeah perfect platform for it perfect man you know the hollower which at this point i've just accepted i'm not gonna finish but it's fun to fuck around in that game yeah did you ever finish me no i'm in the same spot i i'm like maybe seven hours in yeah and it's it's really really good yes but it's not grabbing me.
1:06:32Same. Yeah. I was hooked for an area, but hooked in the sense of like, all right. Yeah. This is like a great time. But then like, once I started the next area, I was kind of like, all right, let me, let me try out something else. Let me play another game.
1:06:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Nerdy Papa G says, shout out to Matthew Mercer coming back as Ganon. You notice that? Oh yeah. Really cool. Clearly. Yeah. And it's badass. I'm really bad with, with voices. And so I never know, but. really cool um danish says y 'all see the marvel rivals trailer for gore no the marvel rivals trailers are so sick dude i for a month one of marvel rivals i was so locked in and i've not gone back since then i'd love to go back and just see what's up what's up what characters have they added all that stuff um what's the chat tell me what's the vibe on marvel rivals versus overwatch are people preferring marvel rivals at this point i feel like i hear so much about rivals and i don't hear as much about overwatch anymore but let me know if that's just me and then one more from openness prime he says sony about to be in their playstation has no games era once we get through god of war laufay what else is there besides intergalactic and whatever bend is working on it's funny how you mentioned whatever bend is working on like are we ever gonna see that i mean at the same time like the playstation has no games thing like i i still i said this earlier it's like i am a fan of this generation i am not looking at them like glowingly like i did last like i do look at their lineup and go okay it's not as good but i'm not mad that we have a new naughty dog ip that looks freaking phenomenal you know and who knows if they'll pull it off but like i'm i am still hopeful for that and god of war lafay i can't believe we're getting it this soon we're getting it in february we're months away from a god of war yeah like i can't be mad at that what else is happening after that and especially in a world where the last couple years we've seen playstation kind of fill its library out with third-party exclusives i feel like those days are over so what will there be i don't know like that is a good question and i do think the playstation has no games conversation will continue i've seen this weekend uh rumors kick up again about venom still being real and still actually coming out from insomniac i believe it yeah i think i'm i think maybe this gen has broken me on like the playstation first party lineup being something to anticipate and instead i think i'm more so just anticipating individual studios games because i'm i think i'm i'm more of a fan of individual studios than i am of like just the concept of a publisher's output because like i think if the playstation has no games thing would hit me more if there were no games like if there weren't any third party games if we weren't about to get gta 6 and control resonant and if playstation wasn't the definitive console place to play sure many yeah games exactly so for me i'm kind of like i don't know man i'm i'm not hurting for games to play in fact i'm getting so many incredible video games that naughty dog is absent for a generation fuck it i don't need naughty dog now i'm looking forward to intergalactic don't get me wrong but like yeah i'm not in the place where i'm like where's the next playstation title because i think i'm just kind of like i don't know i don't care as much as i care about like a nintendo for example yeah where nintendo games i am kind of like i want the next one i'm coming off of splatoon raiders like there's a specific vibe i'm getting from nintendo games and maybe that's just the mood that i'm in the era that I'm in but I think you put it really well like PlayStation Studios versus the individual developers and I just think it that's a bummer because that is what they had last generation it's that PlayStation Studios logo hits and we're like oh which one is it and I think right now it's like I hope it's this one you know yeah it's kind of like all right like yeah they're doing this thing it's it's similar to the MCU right now for me we're like yeah not every MCU movie is something where I'm like, oh my God, stop everything.
1:10:38Captain America, Brave New World is coming out. But Spider-Man, Brave New Day, I'm like, hold on. Stop everything. Spider-Man, yo, hold on. Avengers Doomsday looks kind of lit. You know what I mean? I think I'm having that same moment with PlayStation where I'm like, hey, not every game, not every studio is firing on all cylinders and delivering exactly what I want. And like, I'll just go over here and play Witcher 3. That's okay.
1:11:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That is it for Super Chats. Let's hop into kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong. Rewrite in. Let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong. So we can correct it for those watching later on YouTube and listening later on podcast services around the globe. Get out of here, Gemini. I hate that when I fucking open this thing, Gemini, just take up the whole screen. God damn. I don't know. I mean, we got to know your wrongs. Sounds right. I mean, it's us. Come on. Yeah, I'm doing a quick. Fucking Gemini, get the fuck out of here. a quick thing about uh kill zone while you're looking at that stuff like you know i'm old as shit um and people that are as old as me will remember the kill zone 2 e3 2007 trailer and the the question back then was like it wasn't is it ai it's like that was fake right like that was just a video running like video games can't look that good and it's just crazy to look at it now and it's just like if a game came out and looked like this we'd be like oh yeah it looks dated it doesn't look great like it's just wasn't there a story to that demo for kill zone i remember there being like a weird thing of the kill zone developers not realizing that they were actually using that footage and that being like very non-representative but then them being like all right well now we got to hit it i feel like i watched a day there was there's something like that but yeah i also again am so old that like there's been so many stories that i don't remember the details yeah there's like some fun story with that one but yeah you're right like i look you look at that And it's like, dog, I played on a moose the other day.
1:12:29It looks way better than this, but that's cool.
1:12:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You know, video games, video games. We're here. We got nothing wrong. And so Tim, that is it for me and you on games daily. What do we have after this? I think it's kind of funny podcast. That sounds right. Yeah. It's kind of funny podcast with Greg, Joey, and Mike. So stay tuned for that. After that, we got a stream with Greg, Mike, Andy, and some special guests. All right. see Lou in the super chat saying Wolverine until dawn to phantom blade zero new Kena. Yeah. I mean, PlayStation has games and like all of those I am excited for for sure. Um, and then tomorrow we're up at the same time, baby six 30.
1:13:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're, uh, well, we're at the office by six 30. I think we're going live by around six 40, six 45. Uh, and then we're reacting to the direct that's happening at 7 a.m. Tomorrow. So get hyped for that. It's going to be a good time. But of course, this has been kind of funny games daily i've been blessing that's been tim until next time game daily
