2:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Today's gaming news stories include PlayStation has announced a state of play. Don't expect horizon three anytime soon. And discord is going to need to see your face for verification. We'll have all this more because this is kind of funny games daily.

2:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yo, what's up? Welcome to kind of funny games daily for Monday, February 9th, 2026. I'm one of your hosts, Blessing, Addy O.A. Jr. Joining me is the legend, Greg Miller.

2:59Tim Gettys:I didn't mean to bring down the one-shots. You said show your face, discourtesy your face, whatever. Over here, the wolf Dan Don said, I wish Tim was back. Fuck you, all right? I do my best with the ads. All right, I'm sorry, everybody. Were they complaining about the ads?

3:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't know.

3:13Tim Gettys:You do great. I know, I know.

3:15Joey Noelle:I know I'm great. But then Tim comes in at the end and reminds everybody, hey, man, I'm cool. Nintendo's cool. Saw that baby this weekend.

3:24Tim Gettys:oh yeah she's a cutie wow ben got to hold her big moment wow how's tim doing we don't talk about that we don't need to talk about how tim's doing all right everybody oh man he's there he'll be back one day how was your weekend you watch the super bowl uh no we watched like the first this is gonna warm your heart it's gonna warm your cackles all right we i would say we watched jen for some reason wanted to turn it on which i thought was interesting like yeah sure we turned it on like just as everything was setting up she got to see america the beautiful or whatever blah blah blah and then Ben's just like he's like what is this and I explain NFL I explain the football he's like cool can we play Smash Brothers I'm like hell yeah we can bam let's go let's go right man

4:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:he's been playing a lot of Smash Bros he's playing a lot of Smash Bros he had redacted redacted oh that's fun I like that

4:08Tim Gettys:that's really cool but no he's playing a lot of Smash Bros he's kicking mom's butt that's great don't worry about that he is very much in that Pokemon wheelhouse he loves Lucario so he's bringing Lucario number one untouchable Meta Knight he wants to be metanite loves metanite he'd like to be kirby but i don't think he fully understands kirby that's a lot to wrap your head around the sucking blow is nick could teach him uncle nick will teach him eventually um but yeah no i would say number one metanite number two lucario then he sees me i only play links so he's always trying to he'll get in there use the link every time we unlock a new person with a sword he'll go try them out to see if he likes that does he know who link is yet like has he knows link from zelda yeah but he knows link from um uh link's awakening when i I think that's the only one he's seen.

4:50Tim Gettys:He's played that where I handed him the controller and let him go with that one.

4:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Does he get excited about the idea of all these characters coming together? Or is that now, is that a quaint thing now because everybody does that?

4:58Tim Gettys:It's the thing of like, he doesn't know how good he has it. Yeah. Right. Where I think it's that fun thing where Smash is introducing him to so many characters. Where it is like, it's not so much the crazy crossover that he can wrap his head around. It's more the excitement of when somebody does pop. I mean, fucking when Sonic popped up. Yeah. Challenger approaches and it was Sonic. This kid lost his fucking life. Oh, man. To relive that feeling. And he's like, oh shit, that was Knuckles in the background. I'm like, I know, I know. So he doesn't get that part of it, but he's learning his Nintendo heritage through it.

5:27Tim Gettys:So it was at one point, you know, we're going, he's like, daddy, you have him. And it was Samus. And I was like, I do. But do you want to know something crazy? And he's like, yeah, you want. I'm like, I went down one time. I'm like, this woman with the blonde hair, that's Samus. He's like, what? I'm like, yeah, that's Samus out of her suit. He's like, that's cool. I'm like, I know, buddy. I love that.

5:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I love that because that's how I feel like so many of us experienced Smash 64. Yeah. I know I did, right? Yeah. Very, very young when that game, at least when I acquired that game, I don't even know when it came out.

5:53Tim Gettys:But when I was in high school, so like 98, 99 right there. Yeah.

5:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I must've been like five years old, six years old. Yeah, sure. But playing Smash 64, like that's all I learned about. I think the vast majority of those characters, because I would have known Mario and Luigi. I would have known Pikachu and Jigglypuff, but I think all of the others for the most part, I was like, oh yeah, who's the same as character? They seem cool. Then I learned about Metroid.

6:14Tim Gettys:Yeah, as a Sega kid, that was definitely how I learned so many of my Nintendo people.

6:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I remember unlocking Ness and being like, this is not a real character. What are we talking about? What are we doing here? And then years and years later, I finally play Earthbound. I'm like, oh, this is such a special game.

6:26Tim Gettys:Yeah, we sat down at dinner last night, and he's like, dad, mom and I played in Animal Crossing today. And I went, oh, you mean in Smash? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course you did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So cool. He's good, though, too. It's disturbing. Yeah? Yeah. I mean, don't be wrong. You'll beat the shit out of him.

6:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, but I like the idea of somebody coming in young and learning the fighting game. fundamentals. 100%.

6:45Tim Gettys:Yeah.

6:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:By the time he's my age.

6:48Tim Gettys:Stop me if I've said this on content before. Chat will be too far behind. What was interesting about it was when I introduced Smash to him. We showed him the trailers and I was like, alright, we can play this weekend. This was multiple weekends ago now. Now just afternoons on Saturday and Sunday are Smash. It was like, cool, let's go. And we jumped back in and we played and played and then we unlocked the first character because as you made fun of me, right, I have nobody unlocked because I just play on Tim's all the time. Now I have nearly everybody I match. it's nice uh it was we got in there and he's like oh can you i'm like explaining you you got to beat him you know what i mean but i'm like i got it don't worry and then it was like kind of funny slash ign has broken me where for 20 years i've only played smash final destination no items so unlocking these motherfuckers i mean multi-tiered things i've fallen off the world i couldn't remember how to jump back i'm like all right ben i'm like ben you and me got to go to the lab we i went i reset the rules i'm like we're playing with items we're playing on every stage we gotta it can't just be final destination omega it's gotta be i gotta learn how to fucking play

7:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:this game again hell yeah dude well enough about that let's talk about today's gaming news stories because remember this is kind of funny games daily if you're watching live you can be a part of the show by super chatting in over on youtube.com slash kind of funny games remember we couldn't do this without our producers over on patreon.com slash kind of funny so thank you to carl jacobs omega buster and delaney the psalm twining for now let's begin with what is and forever will be the roper report it's time for some news we have six stories today

8:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:starting with our number one state of play returns this thursday on february 12th uh this is from

8:30Tim Gettys:tim terry at playstation blog abu i gotta be i'll be hosting the dice awards oh for some reason I don't know. We are always like, there's a rumored state of play. Everybody, it's never rumored again. Every dice for the last, like, as long as I've hosted, I think it's had a state of play. There's always, whenever dice is, there will be a state of play.

8:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I'm going to read from Tim Turry on the PlayStation blog. Tune in live this Thursday for a 60 plus minutes. Oh wee! Minutes of news, gameplay, updates, and announcements from game studios across the globe. February state of play will spotlight eye-catching third party and indie games headed to PS5 along with the latest from teams at playstation studios state of play broadcast live february 12th at 2 p.m pacific time greg we will be live reacting we will be live reacting to it i got two questions for you i got a more i guess serious question okay and then also a not as serious question okay which one do you want give me a serious question first i love diving into those serious question i guess it's a serious question that's honestly not that serious um do you think nintendo and playstation do you think they know each other's schedule to a certain extent?

9:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Because every February you're always getting a direct and you're always getting a state of play but they never intersect too strongly we never get them on the same week I don't, I wouldn't put it beyond

9:47Tim Gettys:the realm of possibility that somebody at Nintendo America and somebody at Sony or Playstation you know, have a, hey you doing it again yeah we're doing it again, cool, but I think it really is that Playstation has staked their claim on this date, and it wouldn't be beneficial to Nintendo to go after them, or vice versa for that matter. You know what I mean? To have two major people go for it.

10:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Okay.

10:04Tim Gettys:But I don't know, yeah, behind the scenes of when we talk.

10:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It just happens so cleanly every single year. Yeah. It's always like one week we get the state of play the next week or vice versa, right? The next week we get the direct.

10:12Tim Gettys:I'm out of my wheelhouse on the Nintendo side of it, right? Does Nintendo stick to the same schedule too? It's every February, yeah. Yeah, because again, like the amount of times like I remember watching last year's in the hotel room with Jen, maybe it was two years ago if I'm playing that.

10:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Last year they might not have done February

10:26Tim Gettys:because of the switch to stuff i'm talking about playstation oh yeah i'm for the dice where it's like that i remember seeing i went to rehearsals one year and uh andrea and paris and a whole bunch of them were out there watching it on laptops or whatever like that like it's such a it's happening here but i imagine nintendo knows to steer around it even if they're not as consistent on we're doing this day every time yeah you're correct blessing uh

10:46Joey Noelle:it seems they delayed it to or not i don't know if it's delayed but they had it in march end of

Read the full transcript

10:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:march yeah and that was because they were doing the last switch one direct and then soon after they did the switch to reveal last year but before that gen generally you're getting them in february

11:02Joey Noelle:and that march one was when they uh talked about what was not game share but the weird like kind of uh new update with like physical cards yes yeah the digital card stuff yeah my other question like is playstation showcase just dead this is again the longest state of play we've had since

11:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the PS5 and portal reveals. Well, again, this is third party they're talking about, right?

11:26Tim Gettys:I mean, they do say. Third party and indie games had a PlayStation, along with the latest from Team PlayStation 2.

11:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean. It's been since, what, 2023 we've had a proper showcase?

11:35Tim Gettys:My thought would be this. I can see it either way, but I would think if I'm at PlayStation, yes. For all intents and purposes, yes, it's dead. If, for some reason, the stars align, and maybe those stars are, you know, in a marketing boardroom that when we hit 2028, we want everything dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, where you have a reason to come out and do that. But I would think the next one's going to be PS6, where it is like, here's the console. Here's the launch lineup of games. Here's why you're excited, right? Otherwise, the state of play has a gravitas to it. It has an expectation to it, which I would say is higher than most directs.

12:11Tim Gettys:You think I'm incorrect on that one? Sure. I think I'm expecting more from this than the third party direct we just got. Oh, yes. And I, and even, I know we were disappointed with the third party direct. Even if you were to have said, we don't know anything except there's going to be a third party direct and a third party PlayStation, Andy, whatever. I still go PlayStation. I expect to bring it more than Nintendo.

12:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. Yeah. I guess I still, I don't view this as a, I know they say third parties. I still view this as like a proper state of play. And I think a proper state of play versus a proper Nintendo direct. I still think do have the same amount of hype. I would say direct, maybe even a little bit legacy properties there.

12:43Tim Gettys:Yeah. Exactly. Mario Zelda. What are we going to get on that front?

12:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Exactly. um that said like i'm it being so long since we got a showcase yeah fine with because the last showcase we got i think was the one with all the multiplayer games uh ended on i think marathon or concord it had marathon concord and then also i think maybe ended on spider-man 2 actually um but i remember coming out of that being like all right cool i i'm with you that i think if you're going to do it right i think you just wait until ps6 until you have like a big because again i just

13:14Tim Gettys:don't think i don't i think for us the nerdy birdies over here talking about video games every day and yada yada and you the audience as well you remember all state of play and this time the other or i'm uh it's playstation showcase yeah this that and the other but everybody else who would carry a level below that understands what state of play is and gets excited for it and again you have a branding you have a thing for it like i wouldn't be surprised when they're like hey we're gonna reveal the playstation 6 and talk about that if it wasn't even called playstation showcase it It was just the PlayStation 6 reveal event, the future of PlayStation event, whatever.

13:45Tim Gettys:It would tell me that effect.

13:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Of course, if you're watching live, I want you guys to super chat in with what your predictions are for Thursday's State of Play. But Greg, what are your predictions? Well, hey, that was a serious question. What's the fun question? Oh, I hit you with both of them. Oh, sorry. I realized I mixed them out, actually. My non-serious question was the Nintendo Direct plus State of Play one. My more serious question was PlayStation State of Play versus Showcase. Got it. Like, are we not getting those anymore? Got it. So what are we getting here? Yeah.

14:15Tim Gettys:Well, there are some easy no-brainers. I think we get a good look at Saros gameplay again. Maybe it's just a hot trailer because we have had a thing out there. I probably think you open with that. Rahul Kohli voiceover, this, that, other crazy-ass cinematic cutscene mixed in with gameplay to set up the fact that this is coming in March now, right? It's no longer February or whatever. Or is it April? It moved. It moved, yeah. It might be April now, actually. I think it moved to April, right? I don't think you end on it, but somewhere in there, you get the re-reveal of Marathon, right? That's March.

14:46Tim Gettys:So that needs a push for it.

14:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I want to back up to Soros. Sorry. We just get a trailer. We don't get any new thing announced for it?

14:52Tim Gettys:No, no, no, no. We're pushing the release date. Push the pre-order bonus, whatever, of the exclusive whatever. I'm sure there's a digital edition, something or other that I'm getting. Oh, yeah. Maybe a controller design for it? Yeah. I could see that. I could see that. I like that. Good call. Good call. Yeah, yeah.

15:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I was going to say you get a tease of like post launch co-op mode or like a challenge tower. Something to be like, hey, there's going to be something for you here a month after this game. Interesting. Yeah, I think they don't. I mean, just because I'm comparing it in my head to the way they did Ghost of Yote with announcing legends is like the final thing. Yeah. Because I feel like we've seen we've seen so much of Soros that I don't know what just another trailer.

15:29Tim Gettys:I mean, that's what I think this trailer is just cinematic, crazy ass gameplay release date. Cut back, cut in or, you know, interspliced or whatever there is. you go through to just remind people this is april this is the last uh state of play you'll see before we get there pre-order now yeah i get the bonus fair enough maybe yeah there's some stinger at the end that teases co-op that's not bad you get to still frame me out of the controller at the end like i like that too then i think you have to have marathon in there i don't think it's the closer but i think you have marathon in there what do we see for marathon just like a final push

15:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:of hey this game is out because this is the one that is out in yeah and that's yeah i do think it

16:00Tim Gettys:is i don't know what exactly you show for marathon i have not been following marathon closely enough to even tell you anymore what it is. But maybe this is, I think with that in mind, this might be a nice, hey everybody, I'm Joe Blow from Bungie and Marathon's coming out next month. And just a quick little dev thing. We've been working hard and here's the latest trait, like humanize the developers, drive home the release date, show why you should care and play with your friends.

16:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I can see it being like, maybe even a little bit more extended. I wouldn't be surprised if we're hanging out with Marathon for maybe eight minutes. I know that's long for a state of play, but for 60 minutes, there are 60 plus, right? Yeah. Right. I think the reason why you would maybe extend it that long is because, hey, this, our next big live service game is about to drop in a month. This is one that actually does have a little bit of steam behind it. I know it's been a rocky last, I guess, few years for marathon, especially last year. But last I checked, it seems like there's hype for marathon.

16:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, really? It seems. Chad, are you hyped for marathon? Let me know.

16:59Tim Gettys:And this isn't, I'm not arguing against. Oh, for sure. For sure.

17:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. chat let us know because i at least on the side of the internet that i'm on i've seen more and more people show some excitement and maybe that's just a mixture of it okay good still maybe it is arc raiders creating some goodwill about uh these types of games right but yeah i think i i think this is the time to strike i think you do an extended thing you show the hypest trailer possible yeah i think you get a trailer that is oh shit i gotta play this um and to your point yeah what you're saying like let the devs get the last arguments in for why you need to play

17:32Tim Gettys:marathon yeah what i think i think again was you know the playstation studios you that you get there i think people immediately jump to intergalactic oh my god a reveal from bend oh my god i think it's more this stuff i think it's i think it's uh sorrows i think it's marathon and i think another no-brainer is helldivers i think helldivers is out there with something else they're still going they just put tanks in there right people were talking about that last week there's always something else coming to hell divers whether it be a war bond or another expansion etc etc and then to push so those are the i i think the easy slam dunks for first party right playstation studios the other and i am stealing this from our conversation at the direct i think a slam dunk easy one is you're going to get that resident evil demo yeah i think that's going to happen

18:14Joey Noelle:a hundred percent yeah i have a poor shot here now i accidentally showed this earlier but think about this thing about this we've bought ubisoft no not ubisoft but the thing about you know a game like prince of persia the lost crown instead of this prince man think kratos oh you son of a bitch

18:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i had it written down here oh yeah no god i think for sure the god of war 2.5 nice gonna get that'd be exciting that'd be huge yeah that was rumored for most of last so that closes the show

18:43Tim Gettys:that's a really good question i think returnal opens bungee marathon somewhere i'm sorry yes Returnal Thank you very much Soros Whatever Rahul Rahul opens You know what I mean He just walks out Do we get Rahul on camera No That'd be sick That'd be a nice Additive thing Oi bruv it's me That's exactly what he sounds like I know right Then I think yeah If you're putting that God of War game out You're closing on the God of War game Yeah When does that come out You think You think they put a date on that Do we get any shadow drops

19:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't think shadow drop No I do think they put a date on it Because I also think For my I wrote down like Bullet pointed predictions I think you need to start talking about release dates for things that are happening in 2026 um and i think that's another that's another thing to the length of the state of play playstation surprisingly does have a lot happening this year and so yeah this god of war game that was rumored last year seemingly was supposed to drop last year got pushed uh into this year internally right like yeah i think you're gonna get a release date for it i'd say summer okay i don't think it's imminent um and i also think as playstation you want to make sure you're creating a good timeline of a runway here yeah runway because you're gonna get marathon next month month after you're gonna get sorrows right like you don't have to you don't have to drop that much in the next couple of months um i think a new wolverine trailer with the release date oh oh okay i mean obviously it's either gonna happen here or in summer but i mean i think now's the time to talk about it as far as like trying to lay out a

20:06Tim Gettys:few more details than you did before okay okay yeah i mean what you figured this trailer would I imagine would be, well, it goes two ways. Do you think this trailer, if it is, is real, which I want it to be, but I don't know if I believe the trailer is either. Hey everybody, I'm Marcus from insomniac excited work on Wolverine. Here's your first look at real gameplay. And he wants a real gameplay, but here's your first look at a level. And it is Logan on the phone, crushing the thing going off. It goes from cinematic into the thing. He starts like, and then you get to the end and it's some huge villain cameo, whatever.

20:39Tim Gettys:You know what I mean? edition and it's like logan don't do it turns out it's professor x and boom playstation and

20:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:then release date that's hot yeah i like that a lot the only thing i'm struggling with and i'm struggling with my own prediction here is that if you show all that here what do you show in summer i mean like is it better to wait till the summer to show all of that and then well you see here just have a shorter thing with a with a villain reveal it's that idea where i think sadly we're

21:03Tim Gettys:going to see a lot of wolverine yeah i'd like to see as little as possible but i think you're to see a lot and so i think you start standing up those beats right where again when is this game coming out right we assume they're giving gta all the buffer it needs so we're aiming for september we'll say right so at that point i think it makes sense to do that here then i think your next big beat for wolverine sgf some kind of trailer there but i think that trailer is a gameplay hands-on too yeah for press yeah you're right you're right yeah time that out probably uh the sgf trailer is going to be just fucking action i don't think that's as extensive as a look and then i would say after that you get a comic-con panel where they're doing something marvel games related and having marcus and uh liam out there to talk about it or whatever and so it's not that many big beats you're right playstation does love their hands-on previews thank god still so yeah that would be mixed in and i guess yeah that would probably time out theoretically before sgf you know maybe that is something you do at may so maybe it's also maybe maybe wolverine does get its own state of play at some point but i yeah what i mean i i don't want to see more but i know everybody wants to like so like we have to go into what are the upgrades how are you you know how do how do we make wolverine how do we make logan your own you know what i mean how are you telling your own story through all this blood and destruction and but the more

22:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i think about it i think the more those big gameplay details like those minute gameplay details are talked about alongside hands-on you know what i mean like well i think the state of

22:26Tim Gettys:play for Wolverine though could be that oh for sure that ends and embargo goes up or something

22:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:out of fact so yeah I think to that I think I mean I think we could see more gameplay I just don't know if it's going to be that much I think I think a character reveal this week is more likely yeah like some I forget what other x-men characters if any other they're all b-listers right now

22:44Tim Gettys:nobody gives yeah maybe you've seen it was like oh it's red guy I don't know who the fuck he's talking about right I don't know basketball kid oh man basketball kid we pop for though speaking

22:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:in Marvel. Sure, it's Wolverine. Marvel took on fighting souls. I think that appears here. I think you get a new character and a possible release date. Again, same conversations Wolverine here for release date for me. Okay. Okay. Okay. But like you're, where are we at with that? When I took that in the league, you were like, oof, I wouldn't have done that, Greg. Only because they did the gameplay beta recently. And it seemed like a lot of the hardcore fighting game fans weren't over the moon about it. But like playing it myself, it's quality, right? Like I don't think the reviews are going be bad for it or anything i just don't know if it's going to be like this is the end all be all

23:27Tim Gettys:like you know 90 do you think yeah they're able to turn it around or like from that beta that

23:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:didn't go oh for sure yeah i i that's the i think that's the exact reason why they're doing these betas is taking the feedback so i think they can it's just that there's so much feedback that like maybe i could see if it if it's more than what they anticipated i could see this thing pushing into early 2027 i think for sure we know this isn't first half of this year for the fact that it's not at evo um and so like we're talking this cap design is awesome we're talking about second half and i think at that point depending on how much they want to do with it maybe gets pushed but still i'm leaning on it comes out later this year okay uh let me throw you a

24:05Tim Gettys:interesting one yeah do you think we get a trailer for outer worlds 2 here oh not i'm sorry avowed avowed avowed is the one i was gonna say i was like an outer world to announce you're like that's weird about is the one that's coming up imminently next week

24:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:oh yeah maybe a short thing yeah yeah i think if there is a trailer it'll either be in a montage or it'll be like a very short trailer sure sure sure um i think we might get another thing for horizon hundreds gathering get another short trailer yeah that makes sense

24:36Tim Gettys:we're talking straight to the playstation alliance here's the reminder here's a hot little trailer 60 seconds and then here's the go sign up on the playstation beta thing or whatever here's the date

24:45Joey Noelle:of the beta as well what do you think is the mindset of to have that not saved for the state

24:50Tim Gettys:of play right you needed to talk about it more you know what i mean where we get like think about how long that presentation was and then think about how long the state of play is already like when you're debuting a game that's outside of the wheelhouse of what a established ip slash property is i think you really need to stop everybody and be like hey here's what we're doing especially because even the way they presented it i thought was well done of like we are still committed to single player games. You're still going to get another horizon three, but we needed to explain what this cartoony co-op game is.

25:19Joey Noelle:Gotcha. I didn't, sorry. I didn't realize there was like a full on like 10 minute thing. It was my,

25:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:now my half court shot, my it's out. Now go see Yotei legends. I think we get go see Yotei legends. We need information on it for sure. Yeah. I forget if they had a window in the trailer that we got back during gamescom, but that seems like a game that should be dropping. I'll say in the first half of the year that needs to be out by summer. Yes.

25:46Tim Gettys:That feels like that is one of those games that I feel like should be shipping in that first week of June. Like it should be one of those where it's in. This cough is beating your ass. No, it's not. It's not. It's not. It's not beating my ass. I swear. It's not that it's not. Whatever. I got the post nasal drip. You know, one of them was just triggering a cough, but I'm not coughing. uh anyways this needs to be in that last of us window last of us of course famously came out when we were all headed to e3 we're like this fucking sucks we all want to play last of us i feel like that's what you do here right before sgf like here it is here's this game it's summer vacation play with your friends do this whole thing get into it see i i think for some reason i i've had the expectations of this game coming out by spring right goes oh interesting so what

26:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:and but like what makes it tough is that again next month we're getting marathon the month after you're getting sorrows i think right now there's a nice little runway if you can if you can sneak it out to be like hey y 'all so you big new update so i mean would you shadow drop that legends yeah yeah oh yeah because i think remind me how they did it last time did they shadow drop it last time i feel like we got it very shortly after we knew about its existence i think you just shadow

26:59Tim Gettys:job i can't remember how they did legends i thought it was i think it was like an announcement and then yeah it was quick it wasn't shadow and i don't even know if this counts as a shadow since they already talked about it but you know what i mean sure sure sure but we're all on the same page

27:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:of interesting okay yeah and also like i i think what it is is that i'm comparing it to how they did it with ghost of tsushima where ghost of tsushima came out in july and i want to say by august early september we got legends it was only a month or two turnover till we got that I don't think you wait till too long to put out legends because I don't you don't want people to get cold on Yotei or like you know enough people have moved on right like I think now's that now's the time to strike with it fair enough yeah what do you what do you read into the indies

27:41Tim Gettys:they make a third party and indies is this Mina the Hollower we got a super chat oh

27:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:from well actually before you into the super chat what are you so Ghost of Tsushima came out late

27:53Joey Noelle:July's Legends came out October.

27:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:October, there it was. It was like two or three months. Three months. We got a super chat in, and I gotta scroll for it. They're making you work for it. Here we go. Rockstar in Training writes in and says, is there any chance in hell we see Little Devil inside, or is that game dead? Remember Little Devil inside? Yeah, I do. When's the last time we heard about it? Is that the, I mean, I think they closed out a state of play years ago. Jesus Christ. With Little Devil inside. Is that the last game from the PS5 reveal that we've yet to get? Jesus Christ, really? Fuck.

28:34Joey Noelle:The last trailer we got... Game wasn't known. Apparently a year ago. It was from GameSpot trailer.

28:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Wait, really? I do not remember that trailer. But yeah, what else for Indies? Hades 2?

28:53Tim Gettys:oh yeah yeah that's a good point out on switch but not out on other consoles yeah yeah switching pc uh i think mean of the hollower has a shot shovel knight devs why not i've given up on predicting mean of the hollower i understand oh i mean it's falling into that team cherry hollow knight thing right yeah it's like well it's got to be there somewhere i'm trying to think of what else for indies yeah i know well it's so hard right there's

29:17Joey Noelle:just such a vast pool let me throw open my not not an exciting one but just uh you bringing up team cherry maybe like a reminder of like hey we put up the kind of next gen patch for og hollow night oh yeah sure sure yeah i'm looking at my 2026 games i'm anticipating list to see if there's

29:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:any i mean i know xbox had a big thing for mouse pi for hire do you think playstation wants to hop

29:40Tim Gettys:on that i don't know i think that xbox put their flag so oh sorry uh so well on that one they stick

29:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:with it what about replaced see i associate that with xbox also okay yeah because they i believe they had their debut in xbox yeah but you know money talks that game's coming out in march as

30:00Tim Gettys:well right do we know that's coming out for playstation that's a great question i don't know actually i'm just looking at my steam wishlist now so it's all starting to run together a lot lot of people are saying starfield ps5 in chat i mean your mouth to god's ears everybody um that is one that has to come to playstation right like you know what i mean but i still stand by like you're not wrong right i i think in the same way you're getting avowed on playstation uh with all the the new game plus updates right that's also coming to xbox i feel that's gonna be the same thing when starfield does its next expansion that they keep talking about or rumoring whatever right of like hey here's star point as some people or starfield some people say 2.0 you'd go there and put it there mixtape is a fantastic finally getting a date maybe fantastic fucking call on mixtape being there actually barrett i love that yeah uh this reminds me of course there was a mixtape event in la yeah we sent madeline we sent madeline stanley of course the screen queen of screams is mike calls her because she likes horror i like that yeah that's good that's good i have a whole bunch of photos i need to put up on instagram for the kind of anything because she sent me a whole bunch of stuff oh cool yeah um one i'll bring in we got

31:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:a lot of super chats by the way yeah everybody's super chatting so let's talk about them uh zio vgm writes and says what about the venom game that leaked a few years back i feel like that thing is dead if it doesn't finally appear here it's not going to appear here you know i don't think you announce and show off venom before wolverine comes out 100 and also i also don't know if that game exists yeah also true also true yeah um dexter morrigan writes and it says final Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sequel trailer. I don't know if I believe it. You want to believe, though. I mean, I would like to believe.

31:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I just don't know if this feels like the right place for it.

31:40Joey Noelle:Shout out to Jason Vanelli, who, a friend of the show, posted this this morning, because Hamaguchi did say we'll hear more about FF7 Remake Part 3 this year than ever before. Wow. Than ever before.

31:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We didn't hear anything before.

31:55Joey Noelle:But more than ever before.

31:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You can say the words Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, and that's enough that's more than what we heard before about it i feel like that's a summer thing i feel like i mean i think it appears at a state of play but i think that state of play you don't think it's jeff thing could jeff get it maybe okay i feel like they're so inconsistent with how they announced the final fantasy 7 um rebirth was announced just at a final fantasy 7 like showcase thing yeah and like me and tim barely expected it right so like i think it could appear anywhere for the fact that it's a playstation exclusive thing i think it makes sense for state of play but also yeah i i wouldn't be surprised if jeff somehow got it too people are popping off for metal gear solid collection volume two i'd lose my fucking mind dexter schwarsler writes in and says kojima posted him editing something so ds2 dlc or od announcement also wolverine will get its own state of play in july slash august love you guys i mean not od because od is an xbox exclusive thing.

32:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Death Stranding 2 DLC? I don't even know what that looks like. Yeah. Fizzant. New Fizzant trailer. Yeah. They're like, oh, the PS6 is so far away, we're just gonna make it a PS5 game. Virum Dex says, show us a 10 second Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer of the rotary phone from the screenshots ringing, and it'll be cinema. I'm desperate for anything at this point. LOL. Kingdom Hearts 4, what does that do for you?

33:18Tim Gettys:Nothing. Yeah. I mean, I know people want to go get it. I hope it's there for you. I hope you're excited

33:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I refuse to believe Kingdom Hearts 4 Is showing up anywhere Until it shows up Sure

33:27Tim Gettys:I can't predict it That's a smart way to do it Yeah Looking back at the state of play From last year Directive 8020 Oh remember Not exciting But it's one I'm looking at the list Of games they had there Exciting for me Oh I mean like No no me too But I mean like For the general I don't know We're bringing another year But you could drop that And put a real release date on it That you're gonna hit maybe I like that That'd be fun

33:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Um do you think we see sony ben's next game no okay because they restarted not that long sure i know um norm chacho says eventually you have to tell us what sony santa monica is working on right it's been three and a half years since ragnarok your 2d action oh yeah it's yeah it's gonna be the 2d thing um limited says there's supposed to be a marathon free weekend before launch i would guess data play drops the date for that yeah yeah another thing i'm seeing is people

34:19Tim Gettys:I'm talking about Monster Hunter Wilds getting an expansion. Okay. I feel like they are pushing the final update for Monster Hunter Wilds just live, or it's about to happen. I forget where we are on the timeline. I think it's February. Barrett, if you could Google. That would make sense to get that out or not even get it out, but depending on what Barrett's about to tell me, talk about the fact that the final update is out, and then, yeah, here's the next expansion coming this summer slash winter.

34:43Joey Noelle:Sorry, what am I looking up for Wilds?

34:45Tim Gettys:Monster Hunter Wilds final expansion. Here it is. Don't you? Krabby Patty got me to 18 February 18th. So again, that would line up of, Hey, the final update is coming on monster hunter, but we have something else, something more. And it's a tease of a giant month expansion and whatever new bio.

34:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Aaron Lyme says team of Sobey, ape escape tease, please. Something not M rated. LOL. Oh, I see what they're saying here. They're saying that all the places themselves and rated. I mean, I'll love anything. Team is Hobie. You know what? I wouldn't even be surprised if we got a team of Sobey thing. Okay. Even if it's not like Astro bot, I actually don't expect Ape Escape by any means, but they work so quickly. And they're so like, they're what we asked for out of a game studio, right? They are contained. They are quick. Their games aren't these massive magnum opuses. If they're able to have like a two-year turnaround and be like, hey, here's something small.

35:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's not even like, not even Astro Bot level, just something smaller than that. That's like, here is an experiment for us. I think that'd be cool. I agree. I would like that.

35:42Tim Gettys:Again, looking back through last year's State of Play, what could come down, double down? Tides of Annihilation.

35:46Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, that's a good one.

35:47Tim Gettys:Coming with a release date for Tides of Annihilation. Oh, winter release date? No, coming with a release date. Oh, coming with... I see, I see, I see. Yeah, I can see it. I mean... WWE 2K25 was there last year.

35:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, yeah. 2K26 will be there again with the island. Let's see what you got. Triple H shows up.

36:03Tim Gettys:Have you heard about the presidential fitness?

36:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Lashawn28 writes in and says, do you think there's any truth to DMC6? A lot of people on the internet streets... Oh, really? ...have been talking about the Delmet Christ.

36:12Tim Gettys:I haven't seen this rumor.

36:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Maybe. This is another one where I'll believe it when I see it. I'd be excited for it. Sure. Devil May Cry 5 was announced on an Xbox thing, but of course it's Capcom. I feel like Capcom and PlayStation have a good synergistic thing going on. Very close. Does that make sense?

36:29Tim Gettys:I mean, we're talking about Resident Evil getting a demo. We're talking about Monster Hunter getting expansion here.

36:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:David N. writes in and says, Is God of War also on PC slash Switch like at Lego Horizon? Talking about the 2D game.

36:42Joey Noelle:Interesting. That could be interesting. get it to a broader audience especially as you're ramping up to the show yeah i'll only go as far as

36:51Tim Gettys:pc but even that i don't fully buy i think especially with is is not i know this is i don't want to wait in the actual argument but like the mainstream argument that playstation hasn't had as many exclusives or reasons for you to own a playstation 5 this year or i mean this generation i think you protect that and then maybe what you do is you if this happens you're putting it on PlayStation like we said in the next few months and then when the God of War show debuts maybe that's when you put it on PC I have maybe Switch 2 I have two thoughts

37:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:one of them being that I think Lego Horizons fits so well on Switch because of how much of a family game it is and like it's co-op right it's multiplayer yeah so I think that for me makes more sense than I imagine a God of War Greek game is still going to be like the violent God of War thing and so that's my first thought my second thought would be coming from Sony Santa Monica low-key i'd be very interested to see what a high fidelity 2d metroidvania looks like for sure yeah you know i feel like we don't get that that often of like a team that that made god of war ragnarok right like a really gorgeous ps5 video game and ps4 i think also but really gorgeous video game i'd love to see them push the tech on like what a 2d metroidvania is because you don't see that

38:01Joey Noelle:that often interesting because in my head like whenever they talk about this uh or like when we've talked about this game before in my head they're going with like a different art style almost oh for sure to fit more of a 2.5 d not thinking of the hyper realistic stuff that you

38:15Tim Gettys:think about with the modern god of war games for sure sure i agree with that but i still think about stunning um all right i'm gonna i'm gonna fit in one more here one more everybody one more

38:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i'm looking for a good one actually i like this one from uh ak who writes in and says who's hyped for the fair games shadow drop do we see fair games at this no fair games it's just a matter

38:35Tim Gettys:of time before they announce Haven's fully closed. Night game's canceled. Why have they not announced it yet? I don't know. Do you think they're still trying? Do you think they're still like, hey, people still working at fair games? Yeah. Or I mean, at Haven. So yeah, somebody's doing something over there trying to find the fun. Yeah. Until they're like, we couldn't find the fun.

38:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Fair games.

38:53Tim Gettys:Fair games. Fair games. Everybody, that is tough.

38:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, those are our predictions for this Thursday's State of Play. I'm sorry I'm going to be there.

38:59Tim Gettys:We're going to miss you. I know. I hate not being there for it. But then it also is fun to watch you guys. Oh, yeah.

39:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, who's left here? Is it going to be what me andy and mike roger yeah okay no that's actually that's a good for for tech we have let's have mike host it i don't want to host it i want to relax i'll do that right now thank you i appreciate it and i appreciate those who watch live right here on twitch.tv and youtube.com slash kind of funny games of course if you're watching uh either post i guess if you're watching post live you can get the kind of funny membership if you're watching live you can also get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free and speaking of ads, let us tell you about our sponsors.

43:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And we're back with story number two. Sources say don't expect Horizon Zero Dawn 3 anytime soon. No, shocking. At Kotaku. Last week, Guerrilla Games revealed the multiplayer game it's been working on. The project is called Horizon Hunter's Gathering, and it's a tactical co-op action game that looks like someone repainted the Horizon universe with a Fortnite brush. It's the third...

44:16Tim Gettys:We throw around... It's got Fortnite-ification.

44:20Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It looks like a cartoon. What the fuck? It's the third Horizon game that's been announced since Horizon Forbidden West released, and fans are beginning to wonder what's going on with the next mainline sequel in the open-world RPG series. Sources tell Kotaku it's still a ways off and not the studio's top focus right now. While Horizon Hunters Gathering might seem like just another side project, it's actually the main game many at the Dutch studio are working on right now, two sources familiar with the state of the franchise told us. According to one source, many of the staff working on Horizon Zero Dawn 3 were pulled off to help with Horizon Hunters Gathering, which Sony is committed to making a multiplayer success.

45:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Another source suggested fans might not see the next true Aloy adventure for three to five years which would make it a playstation 6 game though it could still appear on ps5 as a cross-gen release this lines up with similar reporting by bloomberg's jason schreier who wrote last week that he believed most of gorilla was working on horizon hunters gathering and the launch of hz d3 was not close one source said horizon hunters gathering plays very well and is a lot of fun but it'll have a lot to prove no reg yeah does this sadden you

45:33Tim Gettys:no sadly it doesn't uh the end the cliffhanger of uh vanilla horizon uh forbidden west would left me so like oh really yeah like i'm not excited i'm not excited for three in the same way honestly i think at the end of horizon zero dawn i really wasn't like oh i need to come back like i thought horizon zero dawn ended so beautifully uh sitting on that couch you know what i mean like i was like oh this is really nice and i thought it was a great closing so when they were like we're coming back from where i was like okay and then i did not think they stuck the landing of the ending that was a really rushed third act they rushed through some really cool beats and story things i think they could have done i thought burning shores was great i liked the introduction of i forget the character's name uh seika seika that's right um and so that was cool so i like i'm when they are ready to say hey there's more horizon i'm excited to see what it is and excited to play it but not like i am champing at the bit i have to have it right now what does

46:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:horizon 3 need to do because like i feel wrap this up there's a similar sentiment i feel like across maybe maybe it's more focused on like hardcore fans or playstation fans or whatever but i see a lot of people i think feel similarly as far as like all right like i'm kind of i'm not as excited jazzed about yeah the horizon series but the numbers don't reflect that obviously

46:49Tim Gettys:honestly what i think is very interesting is and i'm gonna go out on a limb here everyone's gonna get angry hell yeah makes me mad Greg Horizon for video games feels a lot like Avatar for movies where I really don't bump into Avatar fans ever you know what I mean but the fucking the movies are the most successful movies of all time like a lot of normies fuck with 900 more of these things are coming or whatever and Horizon is the same way where like I really enjoy Horizon like I enjoy playing those games but I'm not ride or die you know what I mean you okay yeah sure okay i got you yeah it's so weird because i feel like all of the pieces are

47:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:there for me and i and i say this horizon zero dawn i liked fine i would have fallen in love with horizon zero dawn yeah horizon forbidden west i really really liked i came out of that being like yo that was fantastic i have all the same complaints that you do yeah i think uh some of the story stuff didn't resonate as much with carry in moss yeah i mean you had fucking trinity and the whole carry in moss side of things in the game i'm like what are we doing like what's going on here and then yeah the cliffhanger that they left off of i was like i'm i'm not mad at the cliffhanger i think i'm more so mad at like being surrounding it you know what i mean because i'm looking forward to the big threat that they introduced i like the idea of like something's coming yeah i'm always down for any any ending of anything that's like something's coming and it's scary but yeah they left off in a place where i was kind of like all right cool but wrap up the story we're in yeah you know it felt too focused on what's next as opposed to giving me a satisfying ending right here right now and i hate that that's like one of my not number one complaints but it's the same way i feel about the second spider-verse movie oh yeah yeah okay and like how long and it's

48:24Tim Gettys:it's very similar not waiting for the game like how long am i waiting for this next fucking movie

48:27Joey Noelle:chris anka yeah the the the second game the stuff that they introduced feels like it's not a deus ex machina where something like magically appears to save the day but it feels like like a threat magically appears at the very end to kind of give stakes when there weren't a lot of stakes for the the rest of it outside of what we were doing yeah it's it's kind of a mess yeah all that said right

48:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:when i think of horizon and the things i love about horizon again it has all the things i want for the most part it has a in my opinion interesting world right i love a good post apocalyptic world with a lot of lore to it a lot of history to it and and the way that they loop that in with what aloy is going through as a character i think is all interesting and fun to follow the combat i think is fun and different from a lot of different a lot of other action games when you have the bow and arrow focus and switch between all the gadgets and the way that like you can hit parts off of enemies and all this stuff it all all the pieces are there i should be more excited for horizon 3 but i think i'm leaning towards where you're at maybe a little bit higher but i'm yeah i'm not over i'm not like yo where's this game i want it tomorrow so here i think is

49:30Tim Gettys:the horizon's achilles heel you just said all the things you liked about it right you didn't talk about sneaking into the 19th base sure creeping up on this guy shooting him in the back it's that idea that for as gorgeous as horizon is as awesome as it is you know this is what we talked a lot about with zero dawn now we kind of ignore it but the fact that uh playstation was like hey let's make a first party open world rpg you know a western rpg you know in the style to a degree of a bethesda or whatever is we're making choices and whatever what you're not talking about is the fact that the monsters are cool of course there's just i i don't like using this term but i think in for what we're talking about to boil it down there's so much fat on it there's just so much other stuff to do in it where it's like i don't want to go run and do the challenges for the score you know i'm riding on the bellow backs and doing the archery things i i love sneaking in stealth killing yada yada yada but like i don't think horizon's version of that especially in forbidden west was outstanding right like i think of how much i like stealthing and killing in i again to another very similar in sushi sushima like and i liked it in yote but it just was sushima again right where it's like that assassin's creed i'm hiding in the bush so now i'm invisible so now i whistle so now you come up like that has been done over and over and over and over and over and over and over and so you're to this point where it's like what would horizon benefit from being reigned back and it is like cool we're this is a wait there's only a 20 hour experience now we're just hunting the monsters and we're just doing this and i see i find that so interesting because i

51:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you compared it to western rpg right this is like them trying to do like a bethesa kind of thing which it really isn't yeah and i never really thought about horizon as that if anything i think of it way more closely to a ghost of tsushima but i think you are you zeroed in on the idea that i think it's in a weird middle place where it kind of doesn't satisfy either thing because when i think of a bethesda game and what or like a western rpg and what i want out of it i want to make choices choices and matters and that choices that matter right have great dialogue with characters be invested in the story i almost care more about the story than i do about something like combat 100 right yeah and that's 100 and in ghost of tsushima i care i care about the story but it's not like i'm making choices or whatever right like that character is that character and i'm here for the gameplay i'm here for those side activities or whatever horizon i think tries to do both and it does i think good at both but not amazing at either and maybe that's what it is 100 and i think

52:00Tim Gettys:that you know you talk about this in like you know uh as talent this isn't a i'm actually birch's performance right because i think she's amazing i love her yeah but like to compare erika ishi's performance in yote right the character she makes in yote verse aloe and horizon right like night and day like uh uh why am i atsu atsu and yote right feeling and processing and talking us through the emotions she's having but not in the way like it's all exposition this is boring me right whereas in alo has always been confused or can uh has always been accused of being so boring being so tough being so quiet like you can't get behind her and cheer for her because who is she and i think that's still how i think of her right like i think again the dlc uh the burning shores that did more to actually let me into who she is okay but no spoilers for what she's wrestling with and what she's confronted in like there should be more of reactions to that i should care more about where aloy is at the end of that vanilla game than i do 100 um yeah talking

53:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:about horizon hunters gathering right i i find it so interesting that they pulled most of the studio to work on this i wouldn't have thought that this was a like main project for us and it sounds like it wasn't at first maybe they were like hey this is going to be part of our studio now this is most of our studios we're trying to barrel towards the finish line here i'm not mad at it though right like again to your point i could wait three years i could wait five years for her right honestly

53:29Tim Gettys:it's one of those they could never come back to it and i wouldn't be upset yeah especially like let's say a hunter's gathering is kind of doing to a degree what we're talking about where it is like cool don't worry about the stealth and the bullshit go fight these giant monsters go into this cauldron go do that go get you know i mean like if it is the best parts and we're fighting these monsters and collecting the thing and oh guys we gotta run i gotta go run a bellow back more and more because i need to get her his hind leg to make this thing the only thing i don't like

53:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:is that it ended on such a cliffhanger into which is which i feel like exacerbates the way for me

53:59Tim Gettys:where it's like we ended on a cliffhanger and it was like one of those around oh that's a shitty way to end this game and it's like up this conversation is re-triggered what it was yeah But I'm still not like, I'm really interested in hearing where we are going. You know what I mean? We're going to get it. I guarantee you'll get there eventually. They keep making these Horizon games.

54:15Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Story number three, God of War live action series casts Callum Vinson as Atreus. This is Joe Otterson at Variety. The God of War series at Amazon Prime Video has found its Atreus. Oh, I meant to link this, Barrett. If you could look up the Variety article, because they have a picture of the actor next to Atreus, and I find it entertaining. Oh, God. Callum Vincent has been cast as the young god with the actor set to star opposite Ryan Hurst as Atreus' father Kratos. Vincent previously appeared in the Amazon series Dead Ringers, while he has also appeared in hit shows such as Long Bright River and Poker Face at Peacock, as well as FBI International at CBS.

54:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:next up he will appear in the third season of the netflix series the night agent as well as the friday the 13th prequel crystal lake at peacock in the role of jason vorhees that's cool that's

55:06Tim Gettys:really cool right yeah i mean i we don't need a prequel to jason vorhees's story uh but and i also don't appreciate that they're just like making up so many different things the amazon series dead ringers yeah right the hit shows long long river poker face fbi international no these are not real. The third season of The Night Agent? You don't know about The Night Agent? I don't know about The Night Agent. I don't know about The Night Agent. How do you feel about this

55:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Atreus? Go get him.

55:33Tim Gettys:Yeah. You know, it's always hard when you look at just some kid.

55:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I know. You've got to see him in action. Yeah. I do like, like, time to watch The Night Agent. Yeah. Maybe I gotta watch The Night Agent until I can, like, you know, get the full read on, like, okay, this is my Atreus. Cool. Yeah, I don't really have much of an opinion here. Go get him. Except for that he looks so young, but I got to remember how young Atreus was in the first game. I think I kind of just forgot. And you got to remember how fast these kids fucking ate.

56:00Tim Gettys:Yeah, these kids. Go look at the first time when they announced, hey, we cast Tom Holland as Spider-Man. You're like, this infant? And then like, he's a fucking man now. You know what I mean? Baird, I put an assets photo. Whenever they do this where it's like, hey, some kid's going to do this. I love going to that kid's Instagram page. Jesus Christ. It says parent monitor, right? But like, this is the kind of shit. the person they you know shared the bloody disgusting collaboration of him being in Jason Voorhees

56:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:so what is baby Jason Voorhees that we're doing yeah he's gonna be Jason yeah like a kid Jason well yeah

56:30Joey Noelle:well yeah Jason starts his kid that's part of his like did you ever

56:33Tim Gettys:I'm not even gonna ask if you watch Friday the 13th didn't you ever watch Scream no who was the killer in Friday the 13th Jason wrong it's his mother in the first movie oh see that's the whole thing See what happens is spoilers for the whole backstory of Jason, right? Jason or Mrs. Voorhees sent Jason to Camp Crystal Lake, right? But all of these fucking counselors, these teen kids, all they wanted to do was have sex and drink and stuff. And Jason drowned because they weren't paying enough attention. So then Mrs. Voorhees, you know, came and exacted her revenge and killed everybody there. And then when they killed her or whatever, then Jason came out of the water alive.

57:07Tim Gettys:And then he's, he went to Manhattan at one point, then he went to hell. It's a whole thing.

57:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Interesting. I got to watch those movies.

57:12Tim Gettys:You got to. I own them all on Xbox. Oh, cool. Yeah. I'll come through. I'll leave it together. I'll loan you my Xbox Live account from when they were on sale during Halloween one year, like 2016 for a dollar.

57:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Story number four. Discord will soon require age verification to access adult content. This is from Will Shinglin at Engadget. Discord is the latest company looking to bolster its child safety. Starting in March, all users will have a, quote, teen appropriate experience, end quote, by default. Unlocking adult content and age-gated spaces will require a verification process. The platform's big safety update encompasses communication settings, restricted access to age-gated spaces, and content filtering. Users who aren't verified as adults will see blurred, sensitive content. In addition, age-restricted channels, servers, and app commands will be blocked.

58:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:DMs and friend requests from unknown users will be routed to a separate inbox. If you're an adult, removing these restrictions will require one of two verification methods at launch. You can take a selfie video for age estimation or submit a government ID to Discord's vendor partners. The company stresses that the video selfies you submit for age estimation never leave your device, and it claims ID documents sent to its vendor partners are deleted quickly, in most cases immediately after age confirmation. Although Discord says the process will be one and done for most people, some may be required to submit multiple forms of verification.

58:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It also says that additional verification options will arrive in the future, including an age inference model that runs in the background. Bear, what you showing?

58:50Joey Noelle:This is a BS that's Blue Sky Tim from Miley Softail who says, If I know Discord for anything, it's that they can and will pussy out if people bully them enough or something. Get fucking loud about this. Don't give Discord your ID. don't do it what i want you to do all right to just destroy your point look up to look up for me

59:09Blessing Adeoye Jr.:discord security breach because i'm sure discord is a very secure i've never had one i've never

59:14Joey Noelle:heard about it you're saying like i should give them my id because it'll be let me say it'll be

59:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:safe you can trust discord what's the worst thing that's ever happened what's gonna happen with the data we give discord nothing bad's gonna happen yeah see he can't even find it he's on trust pilot it says everything's cool everything's chill um as he's looking it up the joke is there was they just have one they just had a big security breach so yes no i do not want to give oh oh no from october 3rd 2025 update on a security incident involving third-party customer service jesus yeah the tldr there discord recently discovered an incident where an unauthorized party compromised one of their third-party vendors but they're the ones that are going to get my id One of the accounts impacted globally, we have identified approximately 70 ,000 users that may have had government ID photos exposed, which our vendor used to review age-related appeals.

1:00:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, man.

1:00:08Tim Gettys:Wait, so the thing they're asking us to do is the thing they got leaked in October? That they found out? They confessed to in October? Oh, no.

1:00:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, no.

1:00:17Tim Gettys:You hate to see that.

1:00:18Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I guess you just said you didn't watch much of the Super Bowl. There was a commercial last night. That was for ring cameras. yeah ring cameras have you seen this commercial no it's basically it was it's a commercial where they're essentially um i guess showing off a feature where you can find lost dogs and you

1:00:34Tim Gettys:can report to ring like my dog oh yeah it's like the i've heard about it right this like mesh the

1:00:38Blessing Adeoye Jr.:net right or whatever yeah so like you do that and then basically every every ring camera in your neighborhood turns on and scans the neighborhood to try and find the dog yeah something presented in a way was like oh cute finding lost dogs but when you think about it it's fucking scary i mean

1:00:53Tim Gettys:Nobody would ever use that against the bat. You know, what are you talking about? Terrifying. No, no. Why would that ever happen that way? Hold on.

1:00:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like I've read books about this in high school.

1:01:03Tim Gettys:I don't know if you know this yet, Buzz. You're living one of those books right now. You know what I mean? We've already given up the ground. It's already happening.

1:01:10Joey Noelle:I wonder who has access to ring cameras. Interesting. Maybe look that up. I don't know. Just on your own time, maybe look.

1:01:19Tim Gettys:For the record, the New York Times Wirecard article on January 28th. Ring denies rumors that its footage is used by ICE. Here's what to know. They deny it. They deny it.

1:01:28Joey Noelle:They can't. They did a self-internal investigation on it, and they came out completely clean. Heard that one before.

1:01:35Tim Gettys:Following a surge in immigration enforcement actions in recent weeks, rumors have swirled, claiming that Amazon-owned Ring, which has sold tens of thousands of thousands of dollars, has been working on the federal. That unsubstantiated claim, frequently posted on social media, alongside calls to disable or destroy Ring devices, also asserts that Ring service is integrated with Flock Safety, a company that goes on like this. Here's what you should know. I'm going to read you the bullet points. Ring did announce a partnership with Flock Safety, but it hasn't taken effect yet. Oh my God. Ring and Flock Safety both say that they don't allow federal agencies to have direct access over your use of data.

1:02:06Tim Gettys:Isn't this just like the cameras all over the Bay Area that got in trouble for this too? Where it turned out that shit was getting leaked all over the place? All camera makers may be compelled by law to share access to recordings. Companies may collect authorities. Wait, what? Oh, may contact authorities during time since then of emergencies.

1:02:22Joey Noelle:protect your data protect yourself and when you're not using a camera made by a big company put some tape over it oh god there's a webcam staring at me right now through my lap

1:02:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:start number five speaking of the super bowl pokemon releases 30th anniversary commercial for the super bowl i'm reading from brian at nintendo everything uh pokemon celebrates a big milestone this year with its 30th anniversary and various celebrations are planned including a commercial that just aired during the Super Bowl. I ain't got to read the rest of it. I can just explain. It's a bunch of celebrities telling you who their favorite Pokemon are. Fucked up, I wasn't in it. Yeah, super fucked up, Greg Miller wasn't in it. But they did have my guy, Trevor Noah, and Lady Gaga.

1:03:03Tim Gettys:Now name the rest of them. You can't. Nobody knows who these people are. They know who Greg Miller is.

1:03:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They know who Greg Miller is. They know Never Have I Ever. That's another made-up show. No, that one's not made-up. That's a really good show on Netflix. It's done now, but the lead actress is great in it. And Trevor Noah. And Lady Gaga. And G-Sue from Blackpink. NG suit from Blackpink.

1:03:22Tim Gettys:I want to see Trevor Noah. All right? I want to see Trevor Noah's ZA save. Bring it to me.

1:03:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You don't think Trevor Noah plays ZA?

1:03:29Tim Gettys:I don't think he played. If he did, I guarantee he ate beyond rank. He's the lead of the commercial. Because he said what?

1:03:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He said his favorite is Psyduck. Hell yeah. What did he evolve into, Trevor? Tell me that. He knows what Psyduck evolves into. You got to know. It's Golduck. Don't give it away to Trevor. You think he's watching? He's typing in chat right now. It's Golduck, you bitch. along with all this one of the things that uh they announced with this is pokemon day out and pokemon night out did you see this i did not see this i'll read directly from their website because i love this throughout the year fans will be able to come together in real life during pokemon day out and night out experiences uh specifically designed to give fans of all ages the ability to connect with fellow trainers in interactive and immersive ways day out events will feature family-friendly activities and programming while night out events will have fun surprises in store for long-time fans who grew up with Pokemon.

1:04:20Blessing Adeoye Jr.:More details on both Day Out and Night Out will be announced in the future. And this is what I'll say. Catch me at the Night Out events. Oh, yeah? Oh, yeah. We're about to be wilding at the Night Out events. Damn. If you're going to a Pokemon Night Out that's anywhere in the vicinity of the Bay Area, let me know.

1:04:35Tim Gettys:They're big here.

1:04:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're going to be shaking ass. I was going to say, you were talking about this last week. I can throw ass there, right? Oh, yeah. I mean, that's what it sounds like. If you grew up with Pokemon, night out, day out, you can take Ben to day out.

1:04:47Tim Gettys:Night out, leave Ben at home. I was going to say, we do that, then we find a nice park bench. We lay him down with a blanket. You and me go to night out. I'm down to go to night out with you.

1:04:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Just be ready to shake some ass.

1:04:56Tim Gettys:I'm born ready.

1:04:57Joey Noelle:And it is implied, because day out, they explicitly say events will feature family-friendly activities. What's the opposite of family-friendly? While night out events will have fun surprises. They don't say family-friendly.

1:05:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They're like, at the night out events, people are going to be going home together. People are going to be fucking at these night out events. I'm going to a night out event with you We can do a kind of funny We can call up Tim

1:05:16Tim Gettys:I guess he has a family That's the best part about this If there was one I mean it's amazing as is But if you needed a silver lining to it It's that Tim will be pressed to the glass Wanting to be day out and night out But this little ball and chain baby Wrapped around him He can't get out there He can't do it He doesn't know anything

1:05:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You can take the baby to a day out Get some sun I won't allow it

1:05:35Tim Gettys:No? You won't allow it I'll call people And I don't want to brag though I wanted to show you this though I was invited on Trevor Noah's show once Okay I mean that's not

1:05:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I don't even know what Trevor Noah Not the daily show And also you see the giant warning that this looks like a scam This was a scam

1:05:54Tim Gettys:Look at his email Oh that's so funny Well actually There's a poorly written email of like I'm live for performances manager for what now Trevor This was my response Hi Tyler I don't believe you actually work on what now but I'll bite. What do you need for me to come on the show? Said that November 3rd, Tyler never answered.

1:06:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Jesus Christ. Greg? Yeah? If Trevor Noah actually invited you to a show, that'd be pretty big. I mean, it'd be bigger if it was The Daily Show. I don't know, but it'd be big. I think he's not on The Daily Show anymore. But if I wanted something smaller, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go?

1:06:29Tim Gettys:You'd go to our last news story,

1:06:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the We News channel where we run you through all the tiny news items you need to know about. Story number six is We News. the Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties reviews are out we got a mini roundup for you reminder right after this we're doing our review of Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties featuring the one and only Roger Corny along with a special guest yeah Brittany Brombacher oh no no no no no no no no Brick

1:06:53Tim Gettys:couldn't do it I'm on it I'm on oh you're the special guest I mean I was already on it I thought

1:06:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you were referencing that no yes Roger and Greg will be talking about Yakuza did you play it

1:07:01Tim Gettys:yeah I did oh I don't know if you know this I reviewed it on IGN back in the day oh so i'm here to talk about it i kick the tires on dark tides but i'm more gonna watch roger talk

1:07:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:to him about it and then yeah bounce off of my old review from way back in the day but right now over on metacritic is sitting at a 75 on open critic it is sitting at a 74 uh the gamer gave it a 3.5 out of 5. games radar plus gave it a 4 out of 5. game spot gave it a 6 out of 10 and tristan ogilvy at ign gave it a 7 out of 10 and says yakuza yakuza kiwami 3 and dark ties is another enjoyable blend of hard-boiled drama and side story silliness but as a package it's not quite as well-rounded as the series more accomplished entries from windows central overwatch just hit its highest player base on steam pc since launch passing battlefield 6 in call of duty actually i booted up overwatch uh yesterday and i played half a game and got scared oh because they added a new perk system they got ghosts now they had a perk system i was like i wasn't prepared for this i how this works.

1:08:02Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That guy freaked out. But I'll be playing Overwatch this week as the new update hits. Oh. We're going to get five new heroes. We're going to be playing some streams of it? Oh, yes. Tomorrow, we're for sure going to be streaming some Overwatch. From Deadline, Isabella Merced will star in a movie adaptation of Sega's House of the Dead video game. That's awesome. I met her. Don't worry about it. Yeah. Hot girl herself. At the Last of Us premiere? She's also in Last of Us. That's cool. Dina, I guess, but. Sorry. It's tough to remember Dina such a small role. And then finally, WWE, 2k battlegrounds and nba 2k playgrounds 2 are getting delisted on february 20th service shutdown july 9th and that is it for we news let's take one more peek at super chats people are saying secret trail runner says look at that last week greg says he can't remember the last time someone asked him to throw ass and now he's going to night out with plus come on we're Come on.

1:08:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're living. Let's not invite anybody else, especially Roger. No, especially Roger. Dexter Morgan says, Greg, Poker Face is real. That's a Rian Johnson joint. Yeah, I've heard the Lady Gaga song, Poker Face. I'm well aware of it. Thank you. Ido Nizio says, thanks for keeping me entertained on my drive to SoCal. You're welcome. We hope you have a safe travel. Panda be angry. No. Panda bear angry. That's what it is. Close enough. writes in and says i'm the guy who's crazy about horizon i agree the end of forbidden west was poor but i got so attached to the lore uh that i just want more it sounds like you're rhyming um the rap artist here same with fable and zelda i'm a sucker for history and lore in video games i feel that i feel like horizon has good history and lore but to greg's point i think you really want a main character to i think crystallize all that like cement that in our hearts and minds and i think i'm more interested in the world of horizon than i am of the character of aloy which kind of breaks it yeah i like that a lot yeah looking back and thinking about

1:10:02Tim Gettys:forbidden west right spoilers somebody got mad at me a long time ago when i did this like my favorite area is vegas and it's because of like unearthing that old world right yeah

1:10:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:uh jeff wrightson says horizon games are eight out of ten games that people talk about like five out of ten games because they came out at the same time as two other ten out of ten games sure I feel that I agree with that actually Witcher Breath of the Wild right Elden Ring Breath of the Wild when the next one when the next Horizon game comes out that'll be when the Witcher 4 comes out got it

1:10:33Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Man Man writes it and says is it possible that Horizon's problem is that it's released twice again I mean we kind of talked about it but it released twice against Generation of Finding Games also hey blessing and Greg have a good day you have a good day too you too I think I think that's a portion of it yeah it's always it's tough to come out as an open world game and then have a generation of finding open world game come out a week later yeah because then people will compare you direct so directly and be like oh but this isn't as good as this and it's like well it's still okay that this exists you know you still like the other thing yeah um a lot of people are out here talking about horizon i'm gonna bring one from silver j hawkins who says remember the only way to get them to stop making this stuff it's just not paid it's just not pay or download i think talking

1:11:17Tim Gettys:about horizon yeah but again that story i think you're really i yes that is correct but the problem is that we talk a lot us at this table and then all of us as gamers right like the only things that exist are the most amazing experiences or the most shitty experiences where a game that yeah is an eight out of ten that everybody talks about as a five like that means when i'm playing it i still think it's a great game and i'm enjoying it and then i put it down and i walk away and i forget about it but i enjoyed it for those x amount of hours i played it and that's totally fine yeah this is one that i'll maybe when we do our hot takes episode of course because of

1:11:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:the you're gonna forget them yeah the state of play is happening so i think our hot takes episode is gonna move forward but one of my hot takes maybe we'll talk about it more whenever that happens is that people hate multiplayer games too much sure it's okay that horizon hunters gathering exists is it weird that it's the horizon ip in my opinion a little bit but like aside from that i think that game looks fun i think that game looks like a good time yeah um i'll do one more because we're running out of time here

1:12:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:as i'm looking portland kevin does say love you both blessing greg ps love you is back let's see here let's see here we got a lot more state of play predictions on here i'll do this one from big grizz 76 who says uh just got a ps5 and i've been loving it way more than xbox i've been missing out on some great games by the way love your guys content and show thank you guys thank you so much thank you yeah i didn't mean to do like a one of like yeah i fuck my xbox all my playstation but i was just picking you know what i mean that was a random pick for me let's hop into kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong where you write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so you can correct it for those watching later on youtube listening later on podcast services around the globe pepperoni writes in says bless said this is the longest day to play since etc but just a small fact check this is actually the longest day to play ever oh i like that and then oh that's it that's it for you're wrong i think the rest of these are more editorializing but greg yes that brings us to the end of this episode of kind of funny game a banger episode of course if you love what we do support us with the kind of funny membership over on Patreon or YouTube to get all of our shows ad-free and get a daily exclusive show.

1:13:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Enjoy the Gamescast next and I believe kind of fewdy after. Oh yeah. A stream after that but oh and the stream is gonna be me and Mike playing some Magic the Gathering.
