In short
Kinda Funny Games Daily covers major gaming news and previews: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake release timing, Ubisoft’s recent financial scare, an indie Star Fox 64-style shooter called Wild Blue Skies, and Persona/Metaphor creator Katsura Hashino’s “JRPG 3.0” comments.
Guests
No external guests are interviewed. Hosts are Blessing (Blessing Adeboyejo) and Andy Cortez, with Tim Geddes joining for the Wild Blue Skies segment. Andy Cortez also discusses the JRPG 3.0 topic with Blessing and Tim.
Key claims
- Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is scheduled for mid-January 2026; next look may be at The Game Awards Dec 11, 2025.
- Ubisoft’s “halted trading” was due to auditor/accounting changes and a €286M loan repayment to meet debt covenants, not an acquisition or collapse.
- Wild Blue Skies is described as the closest indie match to Star Fox 64, including beat-for-beat early-level structure, cell-shaded visuals, and animal squad character banter.
- Hashino argues JRPGs are entering “JRPG 3.0,” aiming for a fundamental shift in structure/presentation.
Notable examples
- Star Fox 64 “Corneria”-style level parallels; boss fights and all-range mode.
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows overperformance vs expectations (no exact numbers given).
- “JRPG 1.0/2.0/3.0” framing discussed alongside examples like Final Fantasy VII and Persona.

2:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yo, what's up? Welcome to Kind of Funny Games Daily for Monday, November 24th, 2025. I'm one of your hosts, Blessing, Addy Ollier Jr. Joining me is the Nitro Rifle, Andy Cortez. I don't know if there could have been a hot or cold open than that. Yeah? Like, I mean, these stories seem scintillating. You know what I mean? I mean, listen, JRPG 3.0, I've been asking for it for a very long time. That sounds wild. I don't know what 2.0 is. I mean, I don't know if he knows. We'll get to the story later. I love it. I love it. Because I got so many questions about when 1.0 transitions to 2.0. Right. It reminded me of when people started talking about Web 3.
2:56And I'm like, what the f - He's like, when were we at Web 2?
2:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Web 3 means that. Internet 2. Yeah. Yeah. Exciting. Golly. How are you doing this morning, Les? I'm doing good. I'm tired. Yeah? At a late night last night, me and the homies went to get Hot Pot. Oh, okay. It was great. It was at a spot in Oakland called Moo Moo Pot, I believe is what it was called. Fire. Absolutely great. um and then after you eat that you're like i got quite the truck back oh my god dude we got out at like 10 p.m and i left my stuff at their place because we were like oh when we finish hot pot we'll have time to go back and play magic the gathering or whatever and then we get back and i'm like guys i gotta work tomorrow i gotta go i like i don't live here like i gotta go somewhere um and so just got back super late last night didn't wake up early this morning to go to the gym is everything's kind of starting slow for me this morning but i'm getting there how are you doing i see your shirt and uh it says hot boys and all i can think about is how is how we them boys we done boys i saw you tweet that the other day we didn't boys was that last night yeah what happened cowboys are losing 21-0 against the philadelphia eagles couldn't be things couldn't be worse in my life wow close to ending it all wow anyway but we them boys 21-7 happens i'm like oh okay but they're gonna do they're gonna do the dallas cowboys thing 21 14 suddenly i'm like oh shit don't do this don't do it don't get my hopes up 21 21 no shot and they are grasping defeat from the clutches of victory blessing the oh my god the amount of it was just an cowboys win 21 24 wow wow wow come on man dude congratulations and it was like it's a season saver yeah like or else if you lose this you do not make the playoffs wow still a good chance they don't but like really really needed this one and it was oh my god boys we didn't boys congratulations started off the street just play you know put on wizz khalifa we didn't boys and just had a great time that's awesome yeah well you guess what we them gamers let's talk about video games because remember this is kind of funny games come deliverance to review and then after games cast is a kind of funny podcast then the stream is a solo leveling arise sponsored stream with mike and kevin should be a very fun time kevin watched solo leveling he did he's a fan of solo leveling yeah yeah i've been watching it um i also want to make a record for you bless i know you i know you love hanging out with friends in a living room i do you know be doing activities together yeah we're i'm not being sponsored to say this we had a sponsored stream on friday where we played demio dungeons and dragons do you know i was kind of jealous that i wasn't on that stream i know i just needed to ask and somebody probably would have hopped off to let me on yeah but i didn't realize it until the very last moment that it was a dnd style thing and i'm pretty sure i played demio in like vr where it's like the that was like the versus mode or whatever i played like the psvr2 like whatever they launched yeah yeah so that was more of like a 1v1 or 2v2 type thing so this is like just straight up campaign and again we were sponsored on frio we're not sponsored to say this anymore but um the uh yeah you so you could still play in vr if you want with a meta quest and like go around the little table and like throw the dice or whatever but it's essentially baby's baldur's gate 3 that's cool where for anybody who has wanted to hop into a situation like that like obviously nowhere near as deep as Baldur's Gate 3 in good ways and in bad ways because I feel like Baldur's Gate 3 can be really intimidating when it comes to inventory management and suddenly you have a shitload of all sorts of stuff you don't know what to do with and the mechanics go insanely deep when it comes to like the battle system like yeah the battle system and what your moves are and what you should upgrade here and it's just like it's a lot more simple and you're just little uh little like toys on a uh you're just a little figurine yeah on a tabletop game or whatever and i've had a blast with it and i want to i want to play more of it because it was really really cool to see the strategies and like hopping in and you know they're flanking us from back here oh my god nick we need you to nix our our little mage halfling or whatever at one point nicks i coming in to save the day and all he did was he accidentally turned himself into a rat and then got lit on fire like it was just like it was a blast a lot of fun a lot of laughs okay good game i'll put that on the list to play with the homies if we ever stream it again let me know because i want to hop on a stream of that that's yeah i really want to do more of it like sometime soon i was hoping to continue the campaign from friday but uh nicks out this week so maybe we have you hop in of course if you're a kind of funny member you can get today's gregway it is 15 minutes covering the new simu liu movie in your dreams and why you gotta watch it thank you to our patreon producers carl jacobs omega buster and delaney the psalm twining for now let's begin with what is and forever will be the roper report it's time for some news we have seven stories today a baker's dozen starting with our number one prince of persia sands of time remake release update this comes from mike straw at insider gaming the prince of persia sands of time remake is coming sooner than some might think as first mentioned on the latest episode of insider gaming weekly a video game podcast insider gaming has learned when the remake of the 2003 action adventure game is set to release insider gaming's tom henderson has regularly reported that ubisoft's plans called for the prince of persia remake to release prior to the assassin's creed black flag remake and as a publish that remains the case according to sources close to the game the prince of persia sands of time remake is scheduled to release in mid-january 2026 in addition to the release plan sources believe it's likely that the next look at the game will come at the game awards on december 11th 2025 that's also where the official date could be revealed okay interesting stuff okay it's not gone forever this wasn't a game doomed for eternity that eventually just never sees a a release you know you're just sitting there like they'll forget about it yeah they don't talk about beyond good evil 2 anymore okay this is fascinating this is good news for all the prince of persia fans out there we'll see you know when we first got that initial this the second tease of like oh hey we're still working on it we reveal yeah like the hey we're not it's not ubisoft oh it was like a very specific ubisoft studio in some country chat remind me where it was but they were working on it i don't know if you remember the timeline of this where they announced it people were like yeah the art style yeah people like this kind of looks like butt and then they're like oh never mind we're delaying it because it was supposed to come out i'm gonna throw out like a 2023 it was 2022 yeah where they're like oh it's coming out in like january yeah and we're like all right cool and then they delayed it forever because they made this shit again from scratch i was gonna say india i think it was ubisoft india blessing let me blow your mind you said 2023 right yeah it was supposed to come out january 2021 no shot no shot wow it had a release date january 21st 2021 what was the 21st look like in 2026 let's see where are you in january 21st 2021 uh at home like all of us yeah i was at home yeah yeah i think i was trying to grow a beard yeah yeah the 21st is a is a wednesday for 2026 so maybe they release at the you know five years later we're finally back same week i think i had just purchased uh we fit adventure ring fit ring fit adventure yeah my bad ring fit event i forgot what it was called still somewhere in the closet over there i'm not sure where it's at do you think do you ever think about how much time has passed since like 2020 yes yeah i just got a notification that i uh hit five years uploading to youtube is this the original game you're showing by the way yeah this is the this is the this is the 2020 this is a 2020 reveal this is the remake you're no shot you're lying you're playing playstation two footage right now discover a classic tale don't fuck with yeah this was the remake yeah people were not happy with the art style people were not stoked about this sort of stylized look at whoa some of these i don't remember it looking this bad yeah i don't remember looking this bad either i i remember getting you know hearing all of the scuttlebutt and hearing all the the anger online about the look of it and thinking all right you guys are relax it wasn't that bad but looking at this there's some shocking shots this looks like early ps3 yeah like this looks like it was announced at the same showcases resistance 2 yeah and it's also one of those things that i charted one i call out uh quite a bit but it feels like it's more and more relevant with how budgets have kind of constrained a lot of development timelines but it looks like a like a ps3 remaster like yeah hey we're bringing this game back but you know at 4k it's running in 4k now and it's still the same video game you remember we're just kind of we didn't even touch the textures yeah we're just maybe uploading but yeah there was some shocking shots in that yeah no that that looks way worse than i remember it looking at the time yeah yeah that was uh yeah pretty bad barry if you can play the latest trailer again because now what are your first of all is this something that you're interested in yeah only from the all right what what's all scuttlebutt about yeah because i i was never a big prince of persia fan i was these weren't games that i was really trying to play back in the day and i know how i know how everybody feels about sands of time and it's one of people's favorites like video games of all time tim always talks about it but we first saw this the first thing i pointed out and a lot of people pointed out was oh realistic look they're not doing this stylized thing anymore they're changing it notice how crisp this trailer looks i know we're just looking at a candle in a pre-rendered fucking animation yeah but like it feels intentional as far as hey let's re-reveal it put 2026 on it and just make a candle look really really good so they know that it's not going to look like the way we showed them last time i i also want to call this out and this is something that needs to get called out because i really really applaud the subtle logo change too often nowadays bless whenever there's a an older logo that's a little too there's too much going on a little too old in its style yeah and then you always see the crazy over correction of we need to make this like just basic bold font like you know like we're gonna modernize the hell out of this but i love how like they still keep the spirit while kind of making the logo look less like a 2005 logo i love that congratulations to you i want to see the old logo again because i look at this and for me it is i like the the font but this is the this is the old prince of persia logo okay you know what that's like the old style they look but i love that they went with a little bit more simple of a look with like keeping the spirit of it you know i was gonna hate on it but you're right like i think they did they did do a good job with thank you so much um my biggest question is if we see this at game awards will gameplay live up to the expectation what do they have to do to make us go oh thank god does it have to look like a modern game they've been working on this for four years i think it it has to look similar to what we've seen them do with um what um barrett what was the recent assassin's creed game shadows that was the one mirage mirage it has to be similar to that in terms of visuals it has to be going for realism still while you know this is just such a weird one because i feel like any other studio at any other point even a studio like ubisoft would have given up on this it's such a a bizarre thing that you spend you know four to five years going shit we got to go back to the drawing board especially for prince of persia which is i know prince of persia like you mentioned saints of time it's popular some people's favorite game right like it's of that level but i feel like the ip name the brand name of prince of persia you're not in modern times you're not stacking it up against like an assassin's creator or whatever but i do think the thing i will applaud is that i think right now ubisoft is in a place where they should be looking at some of those dormant ip and revisiting them to see if they can hit like i think a prince of persia is a worthy enough thing to go all right let's give it a shot to see if people fuck with it and buy it because maybe this is a thing we can make more of i would say the same about splinter cell hey let's make a new splinter cell see if people buy it and like it because if so that creates another lane where it's not just assassin's creed after assassin's creed game and in a similar vein with the splinter cell like they've stuck with that weirdly enough even with all the the troubles that is it supposed to be a remake right of one of the other ones like they've stuck with it and now there's a new director that just came on and like all this stuff like there's been so much behind the scenes drama of that game but they're they're not like all right fuck it like let's throw up our hands which is what you're saying yeah i don't even know that's a remake i think that might be a just a new one a reboot i have no idea what that's supposed to be i don't know roger knows yeah he's not here but in a similar vein though of like it feels very un-ubisoft for them to hold on to both of these projects for as long as they have and and i think we'd be in a different spot right now if or or a different sort of line of thinking if prince of persia lost crown comes out to to massive sales where they go damn we really need to get this one right in order to you know think about how successful that version that game is man if we can pull this one off this would do gangbusters and i it's it's kind of just a weird one for me where i i feel like in any other multiverse ubisoft would have given up on this and just said nope not worth it the juice is not worth the squeeze people don't love this art style either just go forward with it and try to make it as good as possible or it's going to take how long to redo everything for no never mind i'm surprised that part of the conversations from ubisoft for like such a corporate entity wasn't hey we're making a slender cell we're making it cheap like give it to ubisoft india like have them like give them only a certain amount of budget and be like yo get it out the door for the fact that they're like ah shit all right people really want this to look good you don't want prince of persia right that's yeah sorry prince of persia's uh sands of time remake yeah the fact that i would think that you would make that cheap um as ubisoft not as me i'm like make us make an expensive prince of person right people right but the fact that they went back to the drawing board did all that stuff i'm so fascinated by how this thing looks once it's revealed because that's gonna be very telling as far as the lengths they went to like make this thing a worthy i don't even know if triple a is the word but like you know a something that surpasses what we saw originally it's got to look good it's got to to me it has to be similar to the way the larger internet and and industry feels about snake eater remake yeah it has to capture the spirit of what the original is gameplay wise but it has to look really good visually and impressive and go oh shit this is the this is the definitive way to play in 2025 sands of time i no longer have to worry about finding ways to play the old version or whatever now it's now i can see this in glorious 4k and have it up res and all that jazz i want to keep on with the uesoft conversation with story number two Ubisoft hasn't exploded.
19:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:This is Joshua Wolins at PC Gamer. Last week, Ubisoft delayed its quarterly financial report and called a temporary halt to trading in its stocks. The internet immediately did what it does best, descend into wild and frenzied speculation. To be fair, it did all seem quite portentous. You know that one? Yeah. Portentous? And in a world where Saudi Arabia bought EA and Microsoft bought Activision, the theories that Ubisoft had itself been acquired or undergone some kind of enormous financial calamity didn't feel totally out there. But staying down, folks, Ubisoft's delayed financial report took place earlier today, and it turns out all the hullabaloo was per company big boss Yves Gaumont, for perhaps the most boring reason imaginable.
20:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Well, we appointed a new panel of auditors that was approved at the annual general meeting last July. end quote. In essence, Ubi's new numbers guy decided that revenues from one of his partnerships from the fiscal year before this one needed to be recognized in a different way. The long and short of this process is that the new way of recognizing those revenues meant the company suddenly overshot a covenant on how much net debt to core profit it's meant to maintain, and it had to quickly fork over 286 million euros to pay off some outstanding loans and get the ratio back down which is i'm sure you will concur very boring and not at all as apocalyptic as online profits were forecasting last week so if ubisoft hasn't hasn't suddenly become someone else's property or vanished into a financial black hole did anything actually interesting come out of its delayed financial report well we did learn that ub is pretty chuffed with how assassin's creed shadows is gone chuffed is good chuffed is good it sounds bad it's a good word the company's earnings report said that the latest ac plus the rest of the brand's catalog have been overperforming against expectations though it's keeping stum stum stum stum uh is keeping shroom about specific sales numbers stum means it's a british slang term for silent or quiet okay they're keeping quiet and they're also proper chuff there can we talk about the The British.
21:41Blessing Adeoye Jr.:They're proper. Why not just say they're keeping quiet? I mean. What do you mean they're keeping? They're keeping stuff. They're teaching us stuff. Stum. Shuff. Stum. The proper. You're adding R's there. Portentous. Okay, well, that's not a British term. Yeah, what are y 'all doing over there? Fucking eat your beans and bread. And use regular words. Portentous is not a British word. That's like a British slang term. portents just be like it it's showing that something in the future may happen man we're gonna get on the tube and have a conversation about this one the presentation accompanying the report notes ubisoft's lineup of upcoming games you've got dlc for avatar rainbow six mobile the division resurgence resurgence i hear the british goes with these words they're resurging over there freaking uh another mobile thing uh which is the division resurgence and the remake of Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time.
22:35Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But included on that list is a blank box marked unannounced title. That could be anything, but for my money, I'd guess we might soon be laying eyes on the Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag remake that everyone knows is coming, but Yubi refuses to let anyone speak about. A lot going on at Yubi. Proper chuffed. They're proper chuffed about it. Yeah, I guess this wasn't as interesting as we all thought it'd be. We were, you know, at one point when we were last week when I was hosting and you were in the second chair, you mentioned you brought up the genius idea, which would have been really, really bad in hindsight.
23:08But you brought up we should react to this.
23:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We should do a live reaction. Turns out it was at 3 a.m. So it would have been a nobody was going to wake up for that. But like in a different world, this could have gone a different way. I'm still kind of shocked about the overperforming part. Why is that? I guess it doesn't feel like the conversation feels like it moved on but I wonder if that's just a maybe that's how Assassin's Creed always is but maybe because it's usually in the fall we don't feel that as strongly because like we move on from things I think faster in the fall another game comes out Christmas is here it's a new year alright who's talking about Assassin's Creed in January I feel like by that time it's like everything's moved on but because it released in February?
23:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:March? like the conversation moved on as it usually does but I guess because it's a game that came out this year I feel like it should still be in the conversation I also wonder like what they what they're in especially because what's the term that they're using they're they're being they're being stum about their actual uh numbers like what their expectations were for shadows in particular like the first big ac to come out since Valhalla because Mirage was originally dlc that was gonna that turned into its own game and they didn't really advertise it like as this big entry right uh Valhalla was I think the best selling in game in the series so I wonder why they I don't know like it the way they talk about it sounds like they had uh like lower expectations for shadows rather compared to Valhalla and I wonder why that is is it possibly the same year of Yote like it does that have anything to do with Do you think that execs, something that just popped in my brain is, do you think execs, some execs may be too online with some of the, oh, we hate that a black man is in this video game type of online nonsense?
24:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Maybe they saw Star Wars Outlaws, how that did as well. And they're like, oh, man, everything, you know, maybe the type of games we're making right now aren't. Avatar. Did Outlaws not do well? I thought it did. Outlaws? Outlaws did not do great. Yeah, as far as I recall, Outlaws did not do well. not only just from uh i don't know if they ever said that though i don't know if i'm saying this based off of conversations i know it like reviewed like kind of like whatever but i feel like there was more people out there actually playing it though this from the people in the streets that i'd be talking to sometimes i've heard that star wars outlaws said not it did not do well but that was also i mean i'm pretty sure you're not wrong like i'm but i can't remember if they have if they've actually come out and said that yeah it's uh i i you're definitely not wrong about star wars outlaw sales it didn't just underperform critically it also was financially star wars outlaw oh that's it yeah i'm not gonna read the ai one that was that lost sales star wars outlaws has not met sales expectations well this is just a reddit post this is from tweet town.com i know tweet town here we go star wars outlaws missed ubisoft's expectations again despite content update and this was this is back in this february but yeah i guess we'll go we'll run with with the truth that star wars outlaws didn't perform i don't know maybe there's some trending thing there i also just don't know ubisoft as a whole right like i feel like they're in such a weird place as far as their overall output and so even if i guess i look at assassin's creed and even if assassin's creed meets its sales expectation I would be surprised if Ubisoft's overall output overperforms or meets those expectations just based off of them not having that many releases.
26:50Yeah, I'm with you. I think that if we think about Ubisoft struggling, it doesn't necessarily mean that Assassin's Creed Shadows can't still overperform.
27:03Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. I think when we think about Ubisoft in the past, there's always a lot of different games that they are putting out and they have a larger library to sort of point to and say this is a success that was a win that was a win that one kind of underperformed but that's fine because we've had three other games that have really kind of overperformed and it's just it's a different era for ubisoft now when i don't know what the sales and success numbers have been for rainbow six siege x i don't know if that's something that can maybe kind of bolster up this lineup of games and maybe that's something they can kind of say yeah we can always rely on the consistency there i don't really know what their consistent output can be and i guess maybe we just answered that question for me maybe it is shadows yeah maybe it is ac and i guess again like to barrett's point right if you say hey we're gonna sell five copies you sell eight copies you over perform like it's all based off of what their own projections were um curious to see if prince of persia spends the time overperforms i'm also curious to see like what was the last word we what was the last we heard of hexi remember assassin's creed hexi right the witch one they get the witch trials one right where's that in the lineup when are we seeing that is that 2020 that's got to be next i'm assuming next year well i don't know the way like the black flag rumors have been ramping up it feels like black flag is yeah black flag would be next year yeah because they also like it was four years in between valhalla or five years almost uh in between valhalla and shadows so i i imagine if hexi is their what they see as their next big one i could see it being a couple more years four years between that's crazy dude yeah and then they also canceled the civil war one i need to see i need a this is what we need to do i want to do a heist with you okay okay i want to sneak into the ubisoft offices because i just want to see what what was the proposed time let's talk to the mustache i just want to see whatever calendar they have like hey this was our proposed plan because like i don't understand yeah where black flag hexi the civil war one that they were they were like ah we can't have black people killing nazis the people will freak out like what when was all this gonna happen in regular content updates to all in what was the uh infinite assassin's creed infinity dunder mifflin infinity yeah you want kevin feige to show up on the to show the board and say like here's our release yes yeah release count oh dude that might fix ubisoft ubisoft needs kevin feige to come out on stage and be like here are the next 10 years leading up to assassin's creed infinity war that would go so fucking hard and one of them is like assassin's creed hex he goes but we didn't think that name quite fit yeah and then it's puts his finger up and it changes to like the witch trials witch trials fucking crazy dude oh man man take me back to like peak marvel peak marvel time mcu is maybe the happiest i've ever been in my life i get emotional thinking about it oh leaving infinity war that feeling of like wow they did it oh man we got a lot more to talk about on this episode but before we get there i want to talk to you about patreon.com slash kind of funny and youtube.com slash kind of funny games where you can get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad free speaking of ads let us tell you about our sponsors the wait is over solo leveling arise overdrive the action rpg based on the popular solo leveling franchise is now available on steam as i previously mentioned I'm a huge solo leveling fan, and this game comes at the perfect time as everyone is patiently waiting for the next season of the anime.

35:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're back with a surprise. Tim Geddes. He's appeared. I'm here, everybody. Story number three. Tim, I want to talk to you about this game called Wild Blue.
35:21Nick Scarpino:Wild Blue Skies is the name of this game, which is really exciting. It is a Star Fox 64 like, which the world needs way more of. We also just need more Star Fox, period. And if we're going to get more Star Fox, I'd rather it be Star Fox 64, okay? But the thing about Wild Blue Skies is it's by Chuhai Labs. I was trying to figure out, like, when this happened, and I couldn't put my finger on it just from YouTubing. This was one of the games that they announced. In the last year, I want to say, we were watching some showcase, and the trailer came up for this, and it was, like, announcing, like, the people working on it, And it was like a really wacky out there trailer that had less to do with the game and more to do with the people that worked there.
36:03Nick Scarpino:And we all really dug the vibe of it. Do you remember what I'm talking about? It was like low-key. So extra, like so over the top. And then they were talking about, yeah, we're doing this game. Anyways, I got to play it finally. And it is very exciting. We've seen a lot of games try to mimic the Star Fox 64 style, right? And I don't think that any so far have fully achieved it. this one I will say for my I don't know hour or so that I've got to play the game is the closest we've gotten so far in fact I think that in some ways it just is Star Fox 64 the first level of this I am almost shocked is not just a one-to-one recreation of Corneria from Star Fox 64 slightly different looks slightly different sounds but like the beat to beat what happens like every set piece it is all exactly the same and that's a good thing because i think that that's them putting their foot down and being like hey y 'all have just been asking for star fox 64 here it is then the next couple levels i played including this one uh hurricane were different were brand new but still had that kind of vibe of star fox 64 and you might ask andy what is the vibe of star fox 64 what is it that makes that game so special obviously it's your companions it's you and three others ai flying around you, and they're all chattering nonstop, right?
37:23Nick Scarpino:But it's the personality of these different characters. You're this little dog. You got a kangaroo. You just got a bunch of animal friends, and they're all talking to you, and the character archetypes you would expect. One of them is a little fuck-up, and he needs your help all the time. More anthropomorphic animals. We just need them. We just need them. So, yeah, it's kind of what you would expect. But every level ends with the boss fight and the more, like, all-range mode type thing you got going on. it's just star fox 64 and that is the highest compliment i can give because star fox 64 is one of my favorite games of all time um but it looks great i love the cell shade cell shaded art style that it has going it makes the um kind of like hit boxes very clear it makes the tax very clear you know what you're trying to dodge and what you're trying to like go through um it it seems very very very promising i played it on my steam deck and absolutely loved it thought it looked great things i think it sounds great in terms of sound design and all of that i will say and this is such a tim getty's thing the soundtrack is a bit of a letdown to me in terms of quality like if you're gonna take an n64 type game and then make it look this good i think it also needs to sound that good too and i don't think that it does and i think that's a unique thing to starfox because starfox assault was like one of the first games to actually use an orchestra so i already
38:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:have an understanding of like star fox deserves real shit yeah um but the style and like tone is
38:46Nick Scarpino:so nailed here and the gameplay is perfect i am really really excited for them to keep working on this and put it out i think it's going to this is going to be one of those indie games that i think kind of is a step above like i think that people are going to be talking about this once it comes out because of how much it is nailing the thing it's trying to emulate um and yeah i I always say like when PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale came out, I'm like, you tried to copy Smash Brothers, but you tried too hard to make it different. Just fucking copy Smash Brothers. They're just copying Star Fox 64.
39:16Nick Scarpino:And I think that they know that people from the original Star Fox team are working on this. Who also worked on Mario 64 and 1080 snowboarding. Like, they got the pedigree. And yeah, this is it's really cool. Can we do me a favor? Can you go back to the beginning of this trailer and can we listen to it with audio for a second? I would love to see Hang on, we'll get through this Yeah, this is very Star Fox
39:53I wish the characters were the 3D models Looks like we're not the only ones lost
40:02Nick Scarpino:Alright, you can pause with it, but you get it, right? And then when you get to the boss, the bosses sound exactly like they should. And when you take them down, they're like, you'll never defeat our boss. Like, it's, again, just Star Fox 64 with a different coat of paint. And it's a coat of paint that I'm super intrigued by. So the homie Tom Davis is working on this. So that's how we knew about it. Excited about that. But, yeah, keep your eyes out on Wild Blue Skies.
40:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Do they have, like, a release date or anything? I don't think so. It looks like they just renamed it to Wild Blue Skies also. Yeah, because it was just Wild Blue before. And on their Steam page, I'm not saying a release date. Yeah. But you can add it to your wish list.
40:35Nick Scarpino:Wish list this one. I think it's going to be worth it. Oh, yeah. Goodbye. Thank you so much, Tim.
40:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Thank you, Tim. If somebody out there were to ever make a kind of funny video game, I feel like that would be the type of game. I would love that. Each of us voice like a character in there. I feel like we could do that. Can I be like a frog or a chameleon? Only if I can be a hedgehog. Okay. Just a blue hedgehog. Just a blue hedgehog. Let's move on to story number four. persona and metaphor re-fantasio creator says he wants to create jrpg 3.0 shit this is george young at games radar speaking at korean gaming conference g star 2025 metaphor re-fantasio and modern persona director katsura hashino says that the jrpg genre is entering its third iteration he calls jrpg 3.0 during a talk uh called when experience becomes memory designing lasting impressions through art and structure with art director shikinori sojima hashino discusses where he sees the future of the jrpg future of the jrpg as a genre during the talk which was reported by for gamer hashino discusses how the genre has evolved through the ages he separates jrpgs into three eras jrpg 1.0 is the style of jrpgs of the past jrpg 2.0 represents games of the present and jrpg 3.0 embodies the jrpg's yet to come i still don't know i need the line when did we start when did we enter 2.0 it's the current it's the current one but like when did the current start yeah currently was it 3d was it like ps3 like what it's just the one that came out right now everything else is one point i gotta know what 2.0 is as translated by games are a plus hoshino says jrpg 1.0 includes the true classics he says the genre split into its second iteration with its current style which feels higher quality due to how much more responsive they are to the player i need kevin feige to show up on so like okay well we'll come back to it because i want to break that down because that might tell us something however the most interesting part of hoshino's speech was his description of the next generation of jrpgs he isn't sure what jrpg 3.0 as he calls it will look like but he hopes his next game will be part of this new iteration on the genre according to the article he believes quote there will be a greater dimension to these games and they'll change the genre structure and presentation at a fundamental level end quote all right a fourth dimension a fourth dimension so he says second iteration current style it feels higher quality due to more being more responsive so like persona is that what we're by responsive though or could it be mario and luigi yeah does mario is that the split was it mario rpg with like the like the real time like yeah i think that was mario and luigi or is it just more like paper mario i think it might have been paper mario you know no it was mario and luigi i don't think paper mario fuck i don't remember chat which mario rpg had like the parries and shit and the jumping i thought it was paper mario i thought they both did all of them had it like the first one you know oh so it was super nintendo i think chad is saying they all did okay so mario rpg i don't think that's what he's saying though do you think well because he's saying like that's when you when the player is feeling more active and more a part of the battle okay let's do this forget what he's saying where would we say jrpg 2.0 started i'll go first Final Fantasy 7 Is that what you're gonna say?
44:13Yeah A third You know All the different dimensions You know You had like Different forms Of the characters Art wise Where it's like Here's a little baby That they look like On the When they're in the overworld Yeah And here's like How they look in battle And here's how they look In like cut scenes Or whatever Maybe he's talking about Production as well
44:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah You also had like The limit break system And like I feel like system wise They were doing things In Final Fantasy 7 that are really cool. But like, does any of those systems, which are great systems, and you know, I'm talking about Final Fantasy, I'm talking about Persona, Expedition 33, Mario RPG, whatever. Are any of these things that like fundamentally change what a turn-based RPG is that would turn it into a 2.0? Because I get what you're saying, Andy, of like, yeah, Final Fantasy VII being like a big step up production-wise, but are we talking about presentation value or the fundamentals of what an RPG is, which I personally, there's been a lot of great pushes and innovations.
45:14I don't know where like a clear 2.0, oh, these ones are now like a fundamental, like complete change and evolution of what 1.0 was. See, I think of the impact.
Read the full transcript
45:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I know there's a different thing, right? But I think of the impact of Final Fantasy VII and how that changed, I think, the culture around JRPGs, especially in the West. That's where I'm at with it. I don't know if I can point to a singular JRPG, I guess, as a 2.0, this shifted things mechanically in such a strong way. I feel like it's all been kind of iterative. Not in a bad way, but iterative as far as, like, you know, JRPGs have slowly gotten... They've been, like, kind of nominal on how they... All right, now this new one has this system that, like, isn't completely changing the game, but it's a little bit.
46:05And we also got to figure out, like, when we think about just what a JRPG is, it's a Japanese role-playing game. And our mind immediately goes, turn-based combat. Because that's what they were called back in the day. And I've just still never quite loved that we're still sticking to, like, it has to be turn-based to be a JRPG. I still stick to that. But it's also, like, the thing of... So is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth not a JRPG? No.
46:37Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, like, I think you can make the argument because of, like, you can slow down time and pick from menus and shit. I think it 100%. I think you could make that argument. I don't think Final Fantasy XVI is a JRPG. I think it's two-point. I think Final Fantasy Rebirth and Remake are, like, 2.9. You know when, like, a game's about to update? And you see, like, wow, we're getting close to the next big sort of, a next big number thing. I think we just need to stop saying JRPG and just say turn-based and active RPGs. That's what I've been saying. Yeah. Because literally, by definition, RPG from Japan and Final Fantasy 16 is literally just from...
47:14Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You've come around to agreeing with me, Barrett, because I've been saying this for years, for Game Awards. Stop with the best RPG. Make it best turn-based RPG and best action RPG. Well, no, I'm not there with you on that. I mean, that sounds like what you're saying. It sounds like me agreeing. I think it's a different... No, I think that's what we just... I just don't like the differentiator that we constantly use of best JRPG just meaning turn-based, which is like, I don't think that's what that definition should be. Do you think, what does JRPG mean to you then? Would you call Elden Ring a JRPG?
47:45Yeah, because it's an RPG from Japan, man. Absolutely not. I think it's a weird differentiator.
47:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think that's a weird, like Elden Ring probably has more in common with like fucking Fallout than it does with like a turn-based RPG. when if if i'm you know you know it when you see it sort of thing elden ring i don't look at as a jrpg yeah even though it's a japanese game with rpg mechanics i mean i'm down i'm down but i just hate the genre name anyway like i'm just like what we're you know when we're talking about what best rpg was for the game awards and in my mind kingdom come deliverance 2 is the most RPG of all of those games because it is a role-playing game and you are making choices that is dictating the rest of the game and you are role-playing as a character but then, well, those other games are turn-based so they're RPGs.
48:41Yeah. Well, because that's what... I feel like another place where that genre started was more stats and stuff and strategy. RPGs are like... Chad, I know Kingdom Come is not JRPG.
48:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i'm talking about just rpg i think rpgs are such a vast and wide genre because like and i think this is a good problem to have because they they contain a level of depth and a level of variety that is very rich for what rpgs are i think grpg and western rpg and crpg like those terms can be useful but i think they're so outdated now that they i don't think they make sense to use them in a formal way. I think turn-based and action RPG are a bit more clear-cut and a bit more... They make sense for comparing to each other. I would rather compare Baldur's Gate and Clear Obscure and Final Fantasy VII to each other, as opposed to comparing those to an Elden Ring and a Fallout and a Breath of the Wild, even though I'm sure I'm getting to another thing there.
49:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But I think the mechanical similarities and differences matter more if we're trying to treat this in a formal way. I have... another game to bring up talking about like the different where we're at 2.0 in the line yeah in the timeline i think games like the the tales games when they are you know random encounters but then when you get into a random encounter like you're in a kind of a real-time battle that is no longer turn-based but it's not like you're just out there battling in this open world it's always like all right now you're in this encounter and you got to beat that encounter and you get there's all your xp because you beat it yeah and you keep on exploring and then it's like all right time for another encounter like i feel like that is another evolution of what the genre is i'm also thinking about um i'm thinking about kingdom hearts vagrant story as another kind of you know it's it's real time but you get into these sort of turn-based encounters with enemies.
50:46Some prog RPG.
50:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Now that we've all solved 2.0. Yeah, we nailed it. Let's talk about 3.0. Because I read this, and this is me being a little toxic guy. You know what I mean? This is me being a little gossip here. I think he solved Expedition 33 and was like, fuck, they're about to get to 3.0. I gotta get to 3.0 before they do. But I don't know what 3.0 means. I don't know what 2.0 means. 3.0 is like where the video game industry fucking breaks. Once we get to 3.0, it's like getting the ring and lower the race. I feel like he's just talking about eras of great RPGs. Like, I don't know. I don't see his way of. I think we're already in 3.0.
51:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Damn. Yeah. I think Persona 5 kickstarted 3.0. That's what I'll say. Wow. Okay. Fucking sure. I think we're here. Yeah. I like that. I think he's talking about 4.0 or 3.5. because I think like when I think of persona and metaphor and expedition 33 we're in a new era brother just to bring it back to the jrpg conversation bring it back i think everybody's golf hot shots was 3.0 would you describe their stats yeah there's a story there's that one girl that is trying to date you or whatever yeah would you describe avatar the last airbender as an anime i've been playing with those avatar magic cards it's a great time we shall you guys should get into magic play with me but like when you play avatar as magic thanks for answering my question it's turn-based that's a grpg the magic i don't want to hear about your avatar cards because there's just been a distinct ignoring of my text messages maybe my phone's not going through but i keep on texting blessing and mike asking if they want to play elden ring night rain till like so we could finish the game with a busy weekend it was a busy weekend i was in oakland all weekend playing magic avatar cards are like crack brother you ever like fucking play a card and then you earth bend a land oh you ever like fucking air bend a card out of here you ever fire bend when you're attacking and then you get all the fucking fire mana oh man let me tell you if you aren't playing match of the gathering y 'all gotta get on that shit can somebody bring up the graphic from like 2018 or 2019 when we introduced kind of funny games 4.0 like it's a new era you know what i mean bring up the we're kind of funny it's been a hell of a four years bring up the image of sakurai sitting next to like like a fucking squad of like legendary game developers that meeting they're probably talking about jrpg 3.0 it's like him it's fucking yoko taro wearing the mask right it's toby fox with a dog emoji over his head like they're the ones who are going to invent 3.0 story number five uh it's a very sad story uh there's a quote here i'm at a loss this is from hideo kojima who is paying tribute to late actor udo kier this is andy robinson at video games chronicle i didn't mean to transition to that so strongly it's okay there's no other way to do it there's no other way to do it german actor udo kier known by video game players for his role as the psychic villain Yuri in the Command & Conquer Red Alert series, has died at age 81.
54:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Kier, who appeared in movies such as Blade and Ace Ventura Pet Detective, also had roles in video games Call of Duty World War II and Martha is Dead. Kier was due to appear in Kojima's horror game OD and appeared in the Xbox-published games teaser trailer. Reflecting on Kier's passing, Kojima wrote on social media that he was at a loss for words. Quote, it all happened far too suddenly. Because of the strike, we weren't able to shoot OD for a long time, and we were forced to reschedule to next year. Even during that time, Udo and I exchanged emails frequently. We stayed in close contact. We met in Milan at the end of September.
54:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He told me how much he was looking forward to the shoot starting up again next year. He was full of energy then too, making me laugh with his usual Udo-isms. I still can't believe this. Udo wasn't just an actor. He was truly an icon of his time. We've lost a great icon. There will never be another like him. Udo, rest in peace. I will never forget you and quote damn i just had to google who he was in ace ventura and i'm like oh my god how did i not remember that he's the guy at the uh at the at the like kind of very fancy ball that had to you know that was like and who's your friend to courtney cox and he's like this kind of like uppity dude and then ace ventura kind of like sneaks into the little batman what if i told you i've not seen ace ventura um that's not shocking okay i think i think you are of the age where you were definitely too young i could see that yeah it was like very much pick and choose to my jim carrey movies that was jim carrey yeah okay it was very much i love life because i was really really young for ace ventura but then like i kept on you know watching it over the years in my youth very sad news of course i wanted to read the excerpt from kojima just as somebody who was working with him and also obviously was a fan of his work wanted to get that account um uh in there but it's always sad news when a beloved actor passes away i saw other people talking about this as it happened over the weekend and talking about how much they loved the work he was in.
55:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:For somebody who obviously is a movie actor and has been in bigger projects like Blade and Ace Ventura, but then also somebody who's been in Command & Conquer and was set to appear in OD, super sad news always, but yeah, it was a wild one to... I forget if I woke up to this before I saw it yesterday, but a wild one to see circulating online. Rest in peace. Rest in peace. story number six this is a quote from charlie cox any credit i get i get i need to give to him that's charlie cox praising the motion capture actor for a game awards nod this is jordan middler at video games chronicle actor charlie cox has said that while he's thrilled for his game awards nomination any credit given to him for his role in clear obscure expedition 33 must be shared with another actor the nominations for the 2025 game awards were announced last week with clear obscure earning the most nominations of any game in the history of the show.
56:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Actors nominated for Best Performance include Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, and Jennifer English for Clear Obscure, Expedition 33, Erika Ishii for Ghost of Yote, Konatsu Kato for Silent Hill F, and Troy Baker for Indiana Jones. Now, Cox has said that any credit for the role should be shared with Maxence Karzol, who performed the motion capture of Cox's character. Speaking as part of a panel, Cox paid tribute to Karzol. Quote, I'm thrilled for this nomination. i've said this before and i think it's important to say there's an amazing french actor by the name of max sense carzol carzol carzol i committed to the carzol but i'm i feel like i'm pronouncing it probably carzol i don't know uh who did almost all the motion capture uh for that role any nomination or any credit i get i really have to give to him i believe the performance of that character is really down to him end quote i love this that's a that's a great nod right like shout out to the person who did the motion capture video i feel like obviously game awards you're speaking to the biggest audience and so i feel like they have to kind of condense down what they do for like categories and all that shit but in this day and age in video games performance artists like the motion capture folks definitely deserve a shout out definitely deserve a nod here so a hundred percent because you're not only you're getting great line deliveries from charlie cox and that is a big percentage of the performance, but there's so much nuance in the eyes and the way the body's reacting in certain moments.
58:15And I think back to all of those tiny little things in the facial capture performance that really, really sold all of it to me as the player. Yeah.
58:27Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I would like to see a category that is best motion capture or something that is best. maybe even motion captures motion capture artists credited more so they can be recognized in best performance like i don't know what the maybe it's like a dual sort of yeah nomination if it's a character then both people get nominated for that character yeah that'd be pretty sick that would be really neat to see all right you're getting you know either jennifer english motion captured and did the voice for shadow heart about baldur's gate 3 or whatever yeah but for this role it is motion capture whoever person and the voice actor whoever person i think that would be really neat to see recognized in the future but then would that be on the industry like or remembering to like no i don't both or no i think the p i think that's the game awards to say like oh this person's being the i think you're more you're more nominating the character yeah you're not you're nominating the character and the person who voiced or whatever but then i think it's up to the game awards in that moment ago but this person was also involved in who were the credits of this character yeah i think that'd be really awesome story number seven is a required viewing um the messages rockstar saw before firing 34 union members uh it's a video that went up on youtube from people make games who i checked out this youtube channel as i was watching this channel as i was watching this video i've heard of people makes games i've watched some of the videos a while ago but like they're out here doing some real ass journalism yeah really cool stuff i I watched this video this morning.
59:55Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Really cool stuff. I'll read a little bit from Mark Warren to set this up. This is from Rock Paper Shotgun. A new report claims the firing of 34 developers by Rockstar Games for alleged gross misconduct followed a Discord discussion which cited emails about changes to the company's internal Slack policies. Rockstar have been accused of union busting by the independent workers Union of Great Britain over the firings, with the union having filed legal claims against the company. This new report from PeopleMakeGames cites an anonymous Rockstar Insider as having passed on messages from the private Discord server, Rockstar developers, and IWGB staff were using to organize with the Insider claiming they believe these messages contributed to the firings.
1:00:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Highly recommend that people watch the video. It's a 16-minute video interviewing folks that are out here protesting that were part of this whole situation at Rockstar. and breaking down the situation yeah a lot better for the viewer exactly because i think it is it has been kind of hard to parse what is real and what all the facts are but i think that this video does a great job as well as the last one they put out a couple weeks ago telling you here what the updates are and here is what's actually happening yeah it won't be hard to see too because like you know video games media hasn't had the best go in the last decade when you see closures when you see acquisitions when you see people get laid off and all this shit and so i'm always scared and terrified about like the death of gaming journalism and like actual journalism and stuff and so to see an outlet out here on the streets like you know at the protests interviewing people talking to people showing what it looks like to be down there i think it's very important um and super cool i warm my heart seeing the video yeah andy people make games on youtube is where people can find that and they're doing big things out there but if i wanted something smaller say the tiniest news i needed to know about where would i go you'd go to our last story the we news channel where we cover all the small news items you need to know about story number eight we knew starting from euro gamer any future hollow knight games after silksong would exist alongside the others as standalone entries uh says team cherry miHoYo has announced Vara Spira no Varsapira its next major open world game currently in development on unreal engine 5 um they uploaded like a 30 something minute youtube video as always game looks ridiculous when it's coming from they say mihoyo but i feel like they're called holioverse now i don't know the difference anymore i i do want to kind of um be on your side here because i definitely read it in my mind is varis pura as well yeah varsipura is what it's called david grivel is rejoining ubisoft toronto as game director on splinter cell remake he announced that on linkedin skate story is coming to playstation plus extra and premium on its release on december 8th power old home sweet home update including ultra kill collaboration launches december 19th everybody's collaborating with anybody and then our last wee news story comes from wect digital studio presents and kind of funny best friend scott beculis scott sat down with comedian and musician reggie watts and used a certain video as a springboard to talk about creativity in the internet age and all the modern tools slash platforms that millions of people have access to barry if you can roll a clip from that well i'm going to play a video for you and this is from a group called kind of funny and this is one of their creators and his vibes um and music style kind of remind me of you so i'm just going to play it real quick and get your uh thoughts on Okay So they are a video game outlet And he's working on this Why has Reggie Watts seen this?
1:03:39They're a top 10 type of list 1, 2, 3, 4 We all love gaming time to get a high score Next is 5 Reggie I'm sorry
1:03:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Him bobbing his head like a little bit Just a little bit
1:04:00Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He's feeling it Reggie Watson's feeling it. He's feeling it, dude. Does he get to the Michael Fassbender part? I'm a 12-year GameStop Power-Up Rewards member. That's an old photo. I wanted to showcase him because I felt like that style, I feel like it's only possible in this internet age. Stuff that's like, you don't want to say purposefully bad, but purposefully offbeat. I thought it was great. What do you mean? And that's where the humor comes from. I love that we're in that age. Totally. Well, yeah, yeah. It's great. It's like we have so many examples of people emulating the awkwardness of you know things you know or you know uh i can't believe that's kind of weird that's so that's such a great fun fact there's some examples of it so some people are doing like meta versions there's like three layers of meta on top of you know what they do but but yeah i mean they know what that was that was like fantastic you gotta hit up reggie now he obviously knows where he's coming from huge that's huge knows who he's speaking to wow like i get it you know shout out to thank you scott wow scott emailed that to us this morning and was like yeah i talked to reggie watson i showed me in his video so we had to make sure to get that in front of you what an honor crazy so much and that is it for we news let's hop into super chats real quick before we get out of here uh ricky the platypus writes in and says i'm a fortnight sicko when do we hear about greg's event last week or did i miss it you know that's a good question greg's event i don't know what he's talking about he posts did greg post about it i'm gonna look at instagram.com look at instagram.com because i have no idea what you're talking oh yes people yeah people oh you know oh i've been posting about it yeah yeah did he oh you know what he posted those really high quality photos i don't know when greg can talk about it yeah we don't know but there was an event that everybody went to and publicly posted stuff they did publicly post sancho posted take a picture with a very interesting car there you go oh right there you go right right right the portland kevin says i'll buy the saints of time in the hope that we get the whole trilogy it would also be nice to get the 2008 game at least ported to current gen in 2032 this is what i want to do oh we played through all the Prince of Persia.
1:06:21Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Okay, rank them all. You've got to stop this. We play them all and rank them. 2032. We're committing to it. KDG. I know you got nothing going on in 2032. Mark it down. Izzy Tricky writes in and says, my hate watching for the Cowboys failed, so take my money, but at least the Patriots are 10-2, I guess. We didn't boys. I mean, my volleyball team is 4-0, but. Wow. You don't hear me bragging about it. Wow. Oh, damn. You don't hear me bragging about it. Wow. They got one of those wins without you, though. yeah but like at least they got it i know you went to that concert i did go to that concert it was a great concert and when i got the text that they won i was so fucking relieved yeah i was like if they lose while i'm not there i'm feel so fucking shitty uh but what does that do for your mvp considerations where they go well they definitely knocks it down a bit yeah it definitely knocks it down but like i'm gonna we don't have a game this week because of thanksgiving week i'm returning next week with a fury okay i'm gonna be jumping over that net all right i'm be jumping over the exciting cool bar kid writes in and says i might do like a thing where like what if i treat our final game as a kind of funny meetup and i tell people hey show up everybody sit in the stands i love you're all invited i don't know if that's allowed we'll see because usually it's like you can bring a friend but i've not tried bringing 40 people an audience yeah an audience i'll be fine with it cool bar kid writes in and says i've always considered monster hunter a jrpg and to that i say you're foolish it's an rpg from japan then words then who cares about these genres everything's a jrpg if it's from japan yeah you know what i mean the fucking if the lead developer of oblivion happened to be born in japan all of a sudden oblivion's a jrpg if there's a skill tree so it's an rpg apparently now turn-based rpg everything has rpg elements yeah uh let's see here gadnook b o dubs says why not differentiate by calling it jrpg and j a rpg japanese action role-playing this this fucking cut turn-based rpg and action rpg and art whatever man i feel like the more we we like keep the japan and western in these names the weirder it gets yeah specifically the japan I feel like it's just an action RPG, brother.
1:08:39Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We can't just keep adding J to everything because it was made in Japan. They're the fucking birth of the industry. They fucking carry the shit on their back. If anything, everything else deserves a W. Yeah. At the beginning of it. You're so right. We can call those RPGs. You're so right. The world revolves around us, bless you. Yeah. We're so fucking selfish. That's an ORPG. I was made in Ohio. This is the RPG made in California. uh avanus says who wins in a thumb war a hole or b hole find out right you get it you get it thumb wars um i could try let's do that as the handshake instead of the instead of the handshake at the end of the episode we'll have a thumb war um super oh my glob 89 says best nintendo for me one ocarina this is off of friday's game i guess good one ocarina metroid prime three super smash melee four pokemon crystal five wind waker i heard there wasn't a megaman game on that whole list there was a megaman game oh okay megaman x wasn't on there oh that's insane that's crazy feel the surge says birthday tax turned 30 yesterday thanks for y 'all um thanks for all y 'all do and have a great thanksgiving happy birthday happy birthday feel the surge one of these days i will have the party poppers and we're gonna have an actual birthday celebration for these birthday taxes i'll have a new poppers and then lastly sergio writes in and says recently had this jrpg argument with a friend elden ring by definition is a jrpg since it's a japanese rpg jrpg does not specifically denote turn-based it doesn't matter then then genres don't matter call of duty is a western rpg because it has leveling yeah and it was made in the west and i can customize my guns and i'm role-playing as somebody who likes to use a certain gun i'm role-playing as a war criminal
1:10:29you may be fucking you're doing terrible things in that video game
1:10:34Blessing Adeoye Jr.:drop the bottle and bust out the dogs while you're at everyone crazy that's a crazy role-playing game if you think about it uh let's hop into kind of funny.com slash you're wrong where you write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong sorry correct people watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe um these are all from oh these aren't all there's only two at the bottom yeah yeah um wild one says sharing since tim couldn't remember specifically while blue skies was announced during humble game showcase 2025 on march 12th nice and then last one is from sal from gamatsu he says since you're reading my var superior article um cough cough where's the sourcing bless uh figure i'd clarify for you that hoyo verse slash cognosphere is the name that mihoyo publishes under outside of china thank you so much for that so it's part of oh i see okay a larger conglomerate and that was from gamatsu where i pulled the mihoyo news from that's a good call my bad sal we're still home where did you say it initially was i just didn't have it i just had it in like a sentence in we news but i think that sentence i I did pull from Kabatsu.
