I'm pulling from Chris Scolian at Video Games Chronicle. The Game Awards is teasing a new game reveal with a mysterious statue, and players still can't tell what it represents. 10:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:this is fun posed anyway nests wow how do you think they decide the words i don't know well there's a lot to look into here i'll continue the article players have now been visiting the location to confirm that the statue does indeed exist and take more photos of it from various angles as the quest continues to guess which game it represents because of the dark nature of the statue which appears to have various people demons dragons and such growing out of it suggestions have tended to focus on fantasy or matured theme of games with guesses including god of war diablo fallout new vegas doom baldur's gate and similar titles the fact that the closest road is called yuca mesa road has also had some suggesting it could be half life 3 because of its black mesa organization even though the statue wouldn't necessarily fit the style of the half-life games i'm gonna pause there my my next question well i guess you know what i was gonna ask if this is a statue that's always been there or if this is a newly made but this has to be new right yeah this doesn't look like a thing that's existed out here it's a natural the same people that made the pyramids you stop in there is actually good because i i started writing this to our slack last night and i ended up deleting because i'm like tim it's not worth it but i was gonna slack like yo we're in december and half-life 3's not here like remember like two weeks ago when we all convinced ourselves that there's no chance in hell it wasn't gonna be announced imminently two weeks ago i'm pretty sure i said the phrase half-life 3 is gonna be announced by the end of next week with such confidence but i mean i still do think that there's enough rumors circling the smokes are out there the fires are blazing all right like half-life 3 are they blazing i think so because there is still facts that we're dealing with plus the fact that the steam i forget the name of it machine machine no yeah steam machine no that's the old one no they're it's the same name shut up yeah they just call you don't remember the fact that they just called it the steam machine again are you sure that was a huge part of the story yeah i don't like that part are you sure chet am i crazy anyways now i feel like i'm crazy um the the steam machine yeah right we still don't have the release date we know it's early next year right do we know that uh first half you got everything whatever yeah we don't have information so we got to get the information and that information is going to come with half life 3 it's gonna come with half life 3 most likely but what i'm saying is there's a there's a marketing beat that we know is coming that very likely could happen do we know it's coming i mean they have to announce the date at some point oh you mean for the machine yeah yeah we know from valve there is a marketing beat coming so it's just like all right cool the likelihood of a half-life 3 announcement is higher than if there wasn't something that we're looking forward to is it called the goddamn machine it is called the steam machine i love that you just like fucking just blanked that out and we'll say i just i still don't believe it i don't i think i'm with you in that i don't think that i like that it's called the steam machine but also it's not like a it's not a terrible name i i just feel like we could have gotten more creative yeah bring somebody over and it's like oh that's my machine it's like no machine that's my i don't i don't want it to be called the steam machine so bad that i'm trying to google to like confirm it i don't even want to type steam machine into like even if they called it steam cube i'd be down it'd be yeah it is the steam machine it is it's the steam machine yeah continuing on with the article at least two suggestions have appeared to have been ruled out however YouTuber actually no I'm going to pause here going back to the Half-Life 3 because we got to start holding people accountable not in a mean way I don't want to be mean to people because people make mistakes plans change all that shit right but like who was the person that said there was going to be an announcement the last week that was going to maybe even overtake GTA 6 as far as like hype because like and we don't have to put them on blast Well, I mean, the Steam stuff, I think, was pretty big.

Following a claim from Windows Central reporter, Jez Corden, that it related to Diablo 4's next major expansion, but also more. This, too, was shot down by journalist Jason Schreier, who claims he knows what it is and it's not that. That's where the article ends for here. Yeah. Tim, what do you think this is? I think Soros, but that's with just, you know, light perusing of the internet and seeing what it's not.

15:11That's the one thing that's not deconfirmed that I understand. I look at that and I go, alright. I'd believe if that was in the world of sorrows. 17:09We have a release date for this game. It's not that far away. I don't think this is the kind of marketing that you do for it, especially for the kind of game that so many people are looking forward to Saros. But Saros, I don't, it doesn't strike me as the kind of game people speculate about as far as theories or as far as, you know, I'm looking forward to the story, but I'm not like, I'm not thought about the story. You know what I mean? Like Returnal, I liked what they did with the story, but it's not really a, it was weird to say it's not story focused, but y 'all get what I mean as far as what we look forward to out of that game.

17:40And so I don't, this, this isn't something that would hit for me as far as a marketing beat for that. I do wonder, we talked about Exodus yesterday, which was like the game from former Mass Effect devs that's being published by Wizards of the Coast that has, all right, all right, all right. 21:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:He aims to find the humanity in the characters and weave timeline or sorry timely themes into the story while building out a world in mythology. There are plenty of details waiting to be drawn in something that is compelling to the filmmaker and it gives Lin a second potential franchise at Sony that is an upward trajectory. On top of now working in the growing video game adaptation sphere Lin remains in development and is attached to direct One Punch Man, which adapts the hugely popular anime, which I didn't know about. I'm very excited about that. I love me some One Punch Man. So good. Tim, do you love you some Justin Lin?

Prime Videos. the chat says bro that shit was like 55 gigs fuck that one from the way prime video series it's like he knows i love it i love it uh their series adaptation of the god of war video game has added another high profile creative auspice emmy winning director frederick eo toy uh who you know from shogun and the boys hell yeah god damn uh has been tapped to direct the first two episodes of the action adventure series from sony pictures television and amazon mgm studios he joins ronald d moore the series showrunner writer and executive producer pre-production is underway in vancouver and casting has begun on god god of war i don't know why the idea of of filming a god of war in vancouver it's funny everything's in vancouver everything is vancouver so it makes sense it's just that doesn't give god go to new zealand it's always new zealand like that's where cool cool fantasy shit gets filmed fucking vancouver and i love vancouver i at least live in seattle vancouver has cool shit but got a more uh which was which has received a two-season order originally green-lighted by prime video in december 22 2022 the project kicked into high gear following moore's arrival as a new showrunner last fall in a creative overhaul it was followed by prime video quietly doubling the order to two seasons earlier this year that is not unusual for series of this scope when a platform believes in the creative because such shows involve a lot of upfront world building costs related to production design, set building, costumes, and props that are better amortized over multiple seasons.

Them having the confidence for two seasons for a live action thing, that's good news. We have Fallout already from them. It's a proven thing of they got. There are certain people understand it. I love the boys. I feel like Amazon Prime is incredibly vast in terms of the productions it does. So it's not like, oh, you could say they do good stuff in the same way. I'd be like Apple TV does good stuff or FX. It's probably good. But everything you're seeing here, it puts it in the category of the good stuff on Amazon Prime.

28:45So definitely hopeful. I know that God of War is one of those ones they can't fuck up. that is it's such a big ip that if they halo it it's going to be a problem like halo was yeah you know what i mean do you think and here i'm going to present this it's a good problem to have right could they last of us it where you have the thing of all right we have a story that's so like we know what the god of war norse games are and you imagine that this tv series is going to follow in the footsteps of the norse games do you think we get in a weird place with oh this isn't true enough or oh they're taking too much iterations or something definitely oh yeah yeah there's no getting away that's what adaptions are adaptations are right it's like it's never going to please everybody but it's for the people that don't want to play the game but yeah the story's great so you can get in a different form and that and you know it's a good problem because the story is so strong in modern god of war games that like really you just need banger production banger actors right like people to really bring that already existing story to life and you have something that's going to really work and you need crazy set pieces and like action choreography yeah the biggest thing is like i i think that one of the greatest values of god of war and its storytelling is the single camera cut right like the one shot and i don't know that they're going to do that for the show um and i do think that that's not necessarily like the downfall of the show but i i think that just telling that story in a different form is less interesting to me than telling last of us a story in a different form i know a lot of people disagree with me on that but like that's where i stand on it but uh because to me like the god of war gameplay i think matters a lot more than the last of us gameplay in terms of the resonance to the story and the experience yeah yeah i'm very really fascinated you bring up a really good point as far as the action of it like even thinking thinking of just the opening of god of war but to think about that first episode i think our boy frederick's got the stuff man shogun the boys i mean the boys yeah like that i but man that's such a tough like because like obviously god of war is such a video game which allows them to fucking go crazy with some of the shit that they do that's tough for tv specifically but oh yeah i mean it's amazon and it's a big like it's a big name series coming after such the success of fallout yeah and like the success of like seeing something like the last of us on hbo hopefully they're throwing the money that it needs behind it to make it pop tim i want to talk about the good shit all right we got to talk about what's going on with the sonic universe expanding but before we get there i want to talk to you about patreon.com slash

37:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Paramount Pictures is planning an untitled Sonic Universe event film on December 22nd, 2028. This is an addition to Sonic 4, which is coming to theaters on March 19th, 2027. Oh my God. What a world we live in. We got Sonic the Hedgehog. We got Sonic the Hedgehog 2. We got Knuckles the Echidna on Paramount+. We got Sonic 3. Now we're getting two more movies? What's a Sonic event film? It's going to be Shadow the Hedgehog. I think this is just a weird way to say it's another Sonic movie, but it's not Sonic. It's going to be Shadow the Hedgehog. And that's really exciting. I mean, that is really exciting.

38:08But what does a Shadow the Hedgehog movie look like after the last one? Because I feel like that was kind of Shadow's story. Well, that was Shadow's Sonic Adventure 2 story. Sure. You know, he's done a lot of things since. You played Generations last year. Yeah, you know what? We did play Generations. There's a lot that they could do. Is there a lot that they could do? I guess they could create original stories, too. Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. i guess they've already done that yeah there's there's so much i'm very excited i just love that we're getting so much more of this like they've just gotten better so if they really have that like i am i'm all the fuck it it's funny because like event film sounds like avengers type stuff yeah which i guess right but like a shadow makes sense for like something in the universe but you're still making a movie i part of me wonders if you can do a sonic heroes thing but it's like sonic's not the main character it is more of a party of all these different things happening at the same time you get team chaotics in there you get team dark you get yeah rose i mean you watch these movies and they get more and more like an actual sonic thing where it's like less real world human stuff and more like sonic nonsense in the best ways and sonic characters featuring way more prominently like the human to uh furry ratio i don't like you i don't like that

39:27the human to critter ratio has been uh improving as far as i'm concerned and it seems like with the tease at the end of uh sonic 3 we are going to just get even more of that and all the rumors and it just makes sense that uh sonic 4 is going to be based on sonic cd to some extent like i think that we're going to be getting a like our first real foray into sonic levels you know what i mean like we haven't got chemical plant zone you know we've gotten hints at like mushroom hill zone for like a second yeah and then like we get teleported and mostly we're in like the real world green hill zones like in the intro and all that stuff but like i think that way more of the movie is going to actually be in video game worlds as opposed to i love that i know and uh that's i feel like that's the way you kind of like keep this fresh and keep it going and yeah once we get to a sonic universe event film i do just think that it's not avenger stuff it is just a spinoff oh yeah for a different character but roger earlier in chat said shadow the hedgehog pg-13 film which like you had me at pg-13 i want him to say fuck i want to use your one fuck use your one use your one fuck keanu reeves oh man keanu reeves is shadow the hedgehog which is why he crushes it he crushes it but then also that blends more creative stuff oh yeah you have keanu reeves have him star in a thing you know it

40:47he just all was a fucking star like yeah put him in put him in the thing i'm surprised that like we haven't gotten a tales spinoff show but maybe tales is too attached to being a sidekick yeah dude the knuckle show surprisingly good not great i still haven't seen it you should just watch it man it's just like a fun watch there's like moments of it that are surprisingly heartfelt there are way more moments that are surprisingly funny like there's there's a lot there god bless these movies and shows i talked to you about something less that i haven't had the courage to bring up yet on content. And I think it's time to right those wrongs.

We have Super Mario Brothers in the movie. We have Galaxy coming out next year. I think we're going to get a Super Smash Brothers movie sooner than later. I do not think it's going to be a, we're building it up, there's a Star Fox thing, and the metroid thing and this thing and that thing and then we build to the smash brothers i think they're just going to jump in and i think that's the right call you want to know why why because you think about super smash brothers and what did that game do for most people introduce them to nintendo characters and nintendo franchises that they didn't know maybe they knew a little bit but now they know a lot yeah where did you first hear about samus aaron what smash brother it was smash brothers right yep obviously we can get even like deeper into it about marth ike ness yeah so many of those things falcon you learn about them then you learn about the game franchises and it's kind of like a backdoor way into building this world all you really need is the mario cast of characters then you throw in all these other worlds and characters they don't need to be the live action link from the movie it could just be a different link there's a million different links we'll get it we'll understand the audience will they'll know what's happening then they can do a metroid movie after that they can do a starfox movie after that whatever the fans latch on to go for it laker said maybe a pikmin you know maybe a pikmin maybe a pikmin that's see that's what i'm interested in is if we go the tim getty's route which i agree with i actually think that'd be a brilliant idea because why why wait forever to do it especially when you have a thing that can launch these characters where parents are parents see mario on the thing and they're like oh yeah we'll go watch the new Mario thing oh snap there's all these different things right Nintendo we talk about the Nintendo 5 the top 5 or whatever right like what are the IP that Nintendo really care about that they want to sell you on they want to keep making products for and all this shit merchandising if you launched Smash Brothers for the first time today how different is the main roster for that game like if you're choosing 8 characters very different than the OG 8 for sure yes do you think in your hypothetical future right do you think if they launch a new smash brothers movie is it the og 8 or are we getting a new well you know the thing about the og 8 is it's very different than the og 12 true because they start getting a little weird like that it's the nest that was weird right captain falcon even was a little weird but like at the end of the day a lot of those characters are just mario universe and mario extended universe right we have we had mario luigi yoshi and donkey kong yeah that's those are all there third of the entire cast of the characters right that's like already in movies kirby is the easiest thing in the world to get in there yeah right kirby has to be there yeah um i think i think where we get messy is fox fox samus because like pikmin is getting in there today over fox right animal crossing person is getting in there over samus yeah but i don't know i think in terms of movie building like in terms of like the those being a part of a smash brothers movie like them being in their own worlds and transported who the fuck knows what story they're gonna have i think that those worlds are so unique compared to mario that it makes sense i think that's like it it all adds up someone in the chat was saying tim's just describing like uh zach snyder strategy i think this is very different than that like i think it's like nintendo is different pete there's a familiarity with these characters already and this they want nintendo wants the people to play the games in a way that zach snyder didn't give a shit about people reading comic books you get what i'm saying yeah like there's like a another medium that's already existing that kids are already invested in and playing um more than reading justice league comic books you know i know people love just i'm not talking shit about justice league or comics i love comics but let's just be real more people have played a kirby game than read a justice league comment yeah which let me tell you i played the new kirby game i played kirby air that shit is crazy hell yeah that shit is fucking nuts um this i we probably have our all our games cast slots filled for the rest of the year because there's a lot of great stuff happening but like at some point we should do a games cast that is what is the smash bros movie 12 today like we're picking 12 to green line a movie with who are they who are they who are they

45:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:story number five metal gear solid series producer is undecided on more remakes but admits metal solid 4 would be pretty hard this is ed nightingale at euro gamer the developers of metal gear solid delta are yet to decide what their next project will be be it another remake or something entirely new a remake of metal gear solid 4 though would be pretty hard following delta released back in august series fans are keen to hear what's next for the developers after all it was developed as a way of reintroducing the series to new fans as well as bringing the game up to modern standards quote right now i'm thinking about what to make next with metal gear i've been able to create an opportunity for new people to experience my work so i want to continue doing this said series producer noriaki okamura in a new interview with real sound quote however we haven't yet decided what we'll be creating he continued there may be remakes but we may also try new works the metal Metal Gear series is like the history of video games, and it ranges from pixel art to cinematic expressions, so the remake method and expression method for each work is different.
