2:20what's up everybody welcome to kind of funny games daily for wednesday january 7th 2026 i'm one of your hosts greg miller alongside the rogue one at gary widow hello hello gary how are you i'm very well happy new year happy new year to you too i feel like there is a cutoff on happy new year but when it's like special friends and people that you like if it's your first time seeing them yeah like if like if it was the first time seeing you in like july or something okay then obviously yeah but i think like as long as you're still in early january i think if you're in single digits like you caught me off the parking lot in the parking lot when you said happy new year i was like yes happy new i don't know there's a blur of things going on i feel i was there is a cutoff i think it's about the same time that the christmas tree comes down yeah i mean when do you take your tree down last weekend yeah yeah out the door yeah yeah it was right away.
3:11Yeah. To me, I would take it down like New Year's Day. That to me is a good cutoff because once Christmas is over, the tree just kind of sets. See, that's my thing because I think we usually let it go till that weekend after New Year's. Is that what we did this week? Yeah, this past weekend was tearing everything apart. As fun as it is to put the tree up, I always find it kind of equally sad taking it, taking all the ornaments off. Oh, I mean, it is infinitely worse taking the tree down than putting it up. Putting it up is the excitement of the season. and we're doing it. This year, we bought a tree.
3:41I have never had a tree die faster. Oh, really? And then become the cartoon, like, you touch it, pines fall, pines fall. We got the biggest... Choked on them. We didn't intend to, but when we got our home, we was like, oh shit, this is actually the biggest tree we've ever... Yeah. Clark Griswold started. Dragging the top of the house. No, it was like the star was like a quarter inch from the ceiling. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We just barely made it. Yeah. But no, it was a lovely tree and lots of nerdy ornaments. I've got the Xbox controller. Of course. The Xbox Hallmark did an Xbox OG with the Duke controller.
4:12And you press it and it plays a, oh, the halo. That's good. I like the nerdy ornaments. Gary, do you know what else I like? What? See You in Hell. Yes. New audio pilot that's up. Tell me all about it. What a, what a, what a. Gregway. What a convenient, how convenient. What a nice coincidence. What a surprise. Gary shows up on content. He's got something to promote, you know. Mike, come on here and give your dad a hug. Come on here and give one of your game and dad a hug over here, Mike. What do you got here, buddy? He's getting ready for it. He's getting ready to charge controllers. Congratulations on everything.
4:43You smell good. What is that about? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What is that? Fucking axe? What is that? Old Spice? Yeah, the classic. I like it. I like it. See you in hell, Gary. Episode one. The pilot is out right now. Seeyouinhell.tv to go find out more. I'll be quick because I know we've got an actual show to do and I don't want to do the thing I was doing. We never get to rail here. You and me never get to rail. And plug this because it's just me. There's no marketing machine behind this. This is a self-funded, self-generated project thing that I did. I'll be real quick. The last three years of my job in Hollywood have been absolute shite.
5:17Yeah. You think games are bad? Let me tell you, buddy. The Hollywood industry, the show business industry, film and television, television in particular, just an absolute fucking shit show right now. And it's been very depressing. You know, I briefly considered quitting the business because it's just so depressing out there, so demoralizing. What would you have done next? Write books, comics, other things. you know probably hang out here more so you know everybody loses basically um so but instead i took all my frustrations about the business and i put them in this script it's kind of like the short version is kind of like the studio yeah but it's about tv rather than film and correct me if i'm wrong you were originally trying to do it for tv i wasn't originally trying to do it as anything i wrote it as like just like a therapy script to like kind of just vent my all of my frustrations about the business and how fucked up everything is right now.
6:04And, you know, I got a lot of bile and spite that I carry around. A lot of negative energy. So I thought I'll vomit it out all onto the page. And then when I wrote it, I thought, okay, it's actually, maybe I like it. And so we showed it to a couple of people, but there was no way anyone was ever going to make it. Because hopefully even when you listen to it, you're still like, no one was ever going to put this on television. But so I just decided to make it myself. I had a little bit of experience with audio, having done Gundog, self-produced that, learned a lot about audio production, and put it into this.
6:34And I wrote a 40-minute pilot called See You in Hell about the television business. I think it's pretty funny. And we ended up getting a really amazingly good cast. I don't know if this happened, but Shannon Woodward, of course, from Gundog, plays one of the leads. Thomas Sadowski, you might know from The Newsroom and Life in Pieces, is an incredible actor, is the other lead. So here's Alison Pill, John Cryer from Two and a Half Men, the wonderful Ben Starr, Alex Winter, of course, from Bill and Ted, Greg Grunberg, Paul the wonderful incredible Paul Scheer who I just realized I have to correct the spelling of his name on the website you'll never know of course Commander Riker and the great John Boyega the Star Wars boys back together John's playing himself you know it's kind of like the studio where celebrities come on and play like fucked up that's what John's doing now I notice I'm not here no because you are you are in the also featuring guest pity voices by I did notice that when I was listening to the credits and it was like Elise and Lucy and Greg I was like we need all fuck we're the after credits I will talk to you about how and why that happened afterwards but yeah so there's some friends of the show in there right you have a little voice part you did really well actually Elise Willems the wonderful Elise and the wonderful Lucy James some of my favorite people that's probably why right they were so bad our segment had to go at the end one of the best things about my job is that when you can you get to work with people that you like you get to work with your friends and you know when they're not available i can always call you it's it's good so listen um it's just me promoting we'll get on with the show but see you in hell.tv is where you would go you can go to apple podcasts right now you can go to spotify you can go to iheart you can go to pretty much anywhere anywhere you get your podcast you can go get it but i put up this website see you in hell.tv is just an easy way like for this i'm just i can say go to that website and it has all the links there that will take you directly to the podcast sites or there's this nifty little embedded player where you can literally just play in like you just press one button you're listening to it like within the site my question for you i have two questions i guess for you yeah yeah is oh fuck they point out this is a widow wednesday i missed that oh yeah i don't remember those days history comes back to my question are twofold number one and then we'll get back to the show don't worry uh you say it's a pilot so have you done any more and if not what do we need to do to make so i mean i originally was going to launch it with some kind of crowdfunding elements It's like, hey, you like this?
8:50Like, let's make more. But I didn't want to be presumptuous about it at all. Let's see how it does. But yeah, I have an idea for like an eight episode season. I've got a story for either six or eight. Well, depending. Oh, yes, my merch story. And it's stupid. Not on the Epstein. These fucking stupid t-shirts that I do. But there's some, if you go back up to the top, there's some, the last two t-shirts are from Sea of Hell. West Palm Beach is like this mega hit Netflix show that's like a show within the show so there's the official you can have an official West Palm Beach crew shirt available in various different colors and you know whatever that's one of the lines from the show so anyways do you want to see how it does before you figure out yeah and then like if the pilot is successful and you know we get lots of listens then you know basically if the audience tells me that there's an appetite for more then I will go make more all of the actors worked for free amazingly are you friends with all of them?
9:47yeah I've never heard you talk about John Cryer. You know I love Superman 4. You know I love Supergirl. What the fuck? I mean, I am now. I had a really... Do you know he... So how do you get him into work for free? I sent him... I actually sent John Fortress and the Joker... The one we did. Comment that we did together. He's a huge Superman fan. I know. Big, big, big style into Superman. And also just very funny. He's one of the best things in it. He plays the agent of one of the two leads. And he's just so, so funny. and um so like with john literally like i just dm'd him and said like listen you have no fucking idea who i am um but do you want to do this show and he read the script and said yeah it's funny i'll do it um some people most people i already know um which was like shannon and and shannon got me tommy because shannon is really good friends with amanda seyfried okay who's married to tommy and she's like me get you tommy like a man is trying to get him out of the house because like no actors no actors are what this is the thing you may have how i was able to do animal crossing yeah sorry animal talking and get all the big celebrities on because like covid like there was no one was doing anything everyone was like basically benched this is this has happened because of what the general just existential like business covid that prevails over everything right now particularly in hollywood no actors are working they're all sitting around bored so like john crier or boyega or alex winner or grunberg or any of these people um wouldn't probably would have said oh no i'm shooting a show right now but no one's shooting a show right now because no one's shooting shows right now.
11:10Hollywood is fucking dead, bro. It is cooked. And so that's what this show is about. I think it's actually pretty funny. Please do go to seeyouinhell.tv. Give it a listen. And if you like it, the most useful thing you can do is leave a rating and a review on Apple Podcasts. That really helps. So, there it is. I hope you enjoy it. And you can go to my website and leave a comment. Or, you know, you can always find me on Threads in Blue Sky. Let me know what you think. If there's an appetite for more, I will make more. But I have a budget in mind. It only cost me like$7 ,000 or$8 ,000 to make this episode.
11:44Sure. Because I didn't have to pay any ad. That was mostly like literally just studio time and things like that. But if I asked them to come back for like six more episodes, then I've got to pay them. You've got to pay some people. Right? Yeah. And for a low-budget audio production, it's actually not that much, but I still would need the money. Yeah. And I've never done crowdfunding before. So we'll see how this episode goes. If this one in any way blows up and there's an appetite for more, I'll do like a Kickstarter or whatever it is. that you remember I was asking you about crowdfunding. Yeah, of course.
12:11I'll ask you, like, how do you even do this? And if it happens, then I'll get to make more. But let's just let the toe in the water. You know, like there's a reason why they call it a pilot, right? Like put it out there, see if people like it. Yeah. And we'll go from there. Well, congratulations, Gary. I'm excited for that. Thank you. Not Calvin Perez, Super Chat says, can't wait to listen, Gary. Congrats. I saw Alex Winter in Waiting for a Godot, and he was fantastic. Yeah, so that's the sort of thing you do. Somebody that just said, like, if you, like, oh, yeah, give me like$100 and you can be a bullshit executive producer.
12:37which is actually how Hollywood works just on a grander scale and then I saw a bunch of people joking around I thought housekeeping was supposed to be shorter this isn't housekeeping, this is us glazing our friend our friend did something cool so look at Gary, take pity on him I make no money off of this I do have a bone to pick with you but we'll get to that the only two reasons I come on anymore and I say anymore because it used to be better back in the day when I would come on regularly we're going to be down Tim in a couple days I only ever come on when I've got something to promote you guys did a nice thing for me with Gun Dog back in the day and now we're doing this right here or when you're really desperate you have to go pretty deep into the bench to call me I know that so okay so let's get I will pick the bone with you right now so I watched that whole fucking live stream fuck you I knew this I saw you in the chat being a jerk about it you're on the slack you see us planning the show You knew the date?
13:34You knew the time? I don't read that slack unless you're giving out game codes, dude. That's the only channel I read is game codes. Everything else. What's happening at kind of funny deaths and births? I don't read that shit. Who gives a fuck about that? Give me the game codes. But so I watched this whole fucking stream. And I'll give you credit first. I'll give you your flowers first. Thank you. I think the plans that you've got for 2026, they sounded very good. You know me. If I don't think they sound good, I'll tell you. Yeah, of course. But I liked all the, I liked the plans. I think it all sounded, I was like, genuinely a few times I went, oh, that's cool.
14:08I'm glad that's good. That's good that they're doing that. But, you know, I'm sitting there the whole time, like waiting for the other shoe to drop, right? It's like, well, you're going to go, but of course I know you're asking at home, like, where's Gary? Where's Gary featuring all of this? Well, what do you know? We've got big plans. He's coming back in a big way and he's going to be a bigger part, kind of funny than ever. And I'll be sitting there going like, oh, how nice. Never, at that moment, never fucking came. What are you doing the next three months? Seriously, though, how can you do an entire live stream day where you're talking about everything that Kind of Funny is doing and never once mention me, who, frankly, give myself some flowers, has been a very big part of your success?
14:44Arguably an instrumental part of your success. I mean, you've been a big part of Kind of Funny. I've been there since the actual spare bedroom. The original actual spare bedroom. All you ever say is you come through and you take juvie and you take the game codes. That's what you do here. I literally texted you. Let's get you back on games. I literally texted you last, late last year. And I said, look, I want to get me into more kind of funny stuff. Because frankly, I'm, you know, I'm bored. I want to do more. Like, for my mental health, I need to get out of the house. I want to come in and do things.
15:15I like hanging out with you guys. Let's do more. And you went, absolutely. And then after that, not a dicky bird. Nothing. What's a dicky bird? Oh, it's an English thing. I like it. Fucking shine me on. Fine, fuck it. You can come on Games Daily more. Shit, fuck. But pay attention to the news Put me in other things I like to do the other things Well I always try that I always try to book you Fuck you I tried to book you For multiple reviews last year Multiple reviews And you're like I don't have time for it I'm in LA And then you're fucking Hang on John Blu-Haga Because then I've got to Go play a fucking game If you're watching right now Live be part of the show Super chatting YouTube.com Slash kindofunnygames Of course we couldn't do this Without our Patreon producers Patreon.com slash kindofunny Thank you so much Carl Jacobs Omega Buster And Delaney the Somme Twining Today we have six items On the Roper Report Fucking do the jingle
15:58That was slow It's time for some news He's taking that relaxed approach There's six items Why don't I bring him back more? Why don't I bring him back more? Baker's doesn't I can tell that Kevin is fucking easing himself Back into the new year Some people dive in for me first Now you're swinging on Kevin You could see me working on other stuff You're swinging on Kevin I gotta switch back I can't see shit I'm over here concentrating on my shit No, the thing you're seeing isn't what the kids are seeing. They're seeing. He didn't even see it because he's countering his own shit. He was just talking shit about me.
16:29Number one on the rubber report. Number one on the rubber report. Xbox's 2026 plans have been detailed by Windows Central. We go to Jez's coordinate Windows Central. Xbox in 2026. What to expect from Team Green this year and beyond. Beyond. One thing we know for certain is what to expect from Microsoft's first party in 2026. At least generally speaking. Microsoft has a lot in the chamber it can fire off potentially in the coming months. but the headliners are set. Fable, Gears of War, E-Day, Halo campaign evolved in Forza Horizon 6. Microsoft oftenly jokingly refers to the lineup as the four horsemen internally representing what are arguably the four most iconic Xbox franchises.
17:09From here, Jez goes into a whole bunch of stuff Bless was talking to me about. It's going to be things that he's heard, things that he's inferring, this, that, the other. It's a great time for us to talk about what's going on with Xbox this year. Microsoft will show off at least some of these titles at the January Xbox Developer Direct show, which has become an annualized tone-setting event for Xbox's early lineup. While I'm not sure exactly what will be shown there this year yet, it seems the four-pillar franchises are highly likely, although I've heard one of Microsoft's more intrepid teams may be ready to show off what it has been baking.
17:41Some have been wondering if a mysterious countdown on the Fallout TV show's Amazon Prime website is hinting at a shadow drop for a new Fallout game or remaster. I'm told this is not the case. However, we are eventually getting a Fallout 3 remake in the vein of Elder Scrolls 6 Oblivion Remastered, as well as Fallout New Vegas on top. I'm told Obsidian of Grounded, The Outer Worlds, and Fallout New Vegas fame has four new projects, some big, some small. Fallout co-creator Tim Cain also joined the studio a short while ago. I'm not sure if any of these projects are Fallout related, but either way, it shows Xbox isn't taking its foot off the pedal when it comes to content.
18:18on the topic of Fallout we are of course also eventually getting Fallout 5 which I understand to be green lit Bethesda's Todd Howard noted in previous interviews that Fallout is receiving a ton of investment right now for Bethesda's 40th anniversary could we catch a glimpse at id Software's next title it has been rumored for an incredibly long time that it could that id could return to Quake or Hexen now that's all rights now that all rights are fully within the Xbox umbrella Machine Games is also thought to be working on a Rainbow Six Siege like multiplayer title, although I've heard that Wolfenstein 3 is also on the cards to coincide with the upcoming Wolfenstein Amazon TV show.
18:58I've heard Ninja Theory's next game will be more combat involved and interactive than Hellblade 1 and 2, while retaining the cinematic approach the studio has come to be known for. We'll also catch a glimpse of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 undoubtedly here, with Activision eager to reconnect with fans after Black Ops 7's controversial delivery. Call of Duty will also drop on a Nintendo Switch 2 this year, as well as fulfilling Xbox's promises to regulators. I'm told we should also see some new Xbox hardware this year. I suspect we'll finally see the Elite Controller Series 3 break cover in 2026, and perhaps be given more controller revisions.
19:35I'm told Microsoft's next-generation Xbox controllers all support direct-to-Wi-Fi connectivity, eliminating Bluetooth latency from cloud gaming scenarios. Oh, that's good. Now, there's so much in that already. You just have to worry about all the other fucking latency. Exactly. In cloud gaming. At least the controller's not fucking up anymore. The controller's talking right in. I'm going to bring in what Blessing put on the dock as 1B. Fans think Amazon is teasing a remaster of old Fallout games. Jez referenced this. We're now going to Patricia Hernandez at Polygon. What people are focusing on right now is a special website erected by Amazon, which is styled to look like the green maps on Fallout's Pip-Boy.
20:14Like those maps, there are several locations that you can explore, such as Vault 33, which offers a 3D tour of the facilities. There's also a link to a digital version of Fallout's terminal password puzzle, in case you're feeling nostalgic for frustrating minigames. And for those of you with extra bottle caps lying around, there's also a link to the official web store. One landmark, however, is currently locked. You can't click it, but the marker does denote a timer that is set to end in just over 27 days from now. What else happens then, you might ask? why that's the season two finale of fallout uh the tease could be anything for all we know amazon is waiting until the end of the season to release fallout season two blooper reel that won't spoil anything but part of the reason fans are hoping the tease is for something much bigger than that there have been whispers of course four months about a fallout remaster gary widdett i have set a beautiful table for you a former host of the kind of funny x cast where do you want to dig in big wide-ranging story to get my teeth into exactly exactly as you know i'm a historically an xbox guy yeah although i mean historically what's that what do you mean historically well i mean it's like i said you but prior to i said i wasn't going to talk about this on the show but maybe okay who cares anymore um i have generally like i've always said before i'm platform agnostic you know i role play as a platform warrior on social media sometimes um but uh no i i you know i'm fortunate enough to have all the consoles so i don't have to decide what camp I want to be in.
21:41And so I just, you know, you go where the games are and you just kind of look at it in a kind of agnostic way. I think PlayStation 5 and Xbox are both very good, you know. Either one, you're going to be happy with those. But in terms of like the long game, I have found myself, I kind of caught myself doing it like talking about game codes. Give me a PS5 one this time, you know. Just like, just starting to hedge my bets a little bit like Battlefield 6 I've got on PS5, arc raiders i'm playing on ps5 as well as pc um thank you cross progression all games should do that why doesn't he well hell divers is not doing that arc raiders had it out of the gate again still doesn't have it gary witta has been with us the entire 11 year run thank you so much for that and i will never forget when we were talking about i think the division two coming yeah we couldn't play together you were like this is stupid all they didn't have it's not going to happen anytime soon and like you were you were bleeding edge on that like you were pushing for it and then everybody started doing it and now yeah it's not like a visionary it's not like oh i've seen the vision of game it's just like why can't i fucking play with my friends you were definitely when i get when i buy a game why do i have to buy it based on who i who i want to play with where my friends are we should just be able to play of course cross play and and so many people do it now it's amazing i think also important um it's just very nice to be able to play on my when i'm playing arc raiders at the moment like play on my pc in my office yeah and then come upstairs to the living room play on the PS5 and it's the same fucking character.
23:03Of course, of course. I can't do that on Helldivers. I love Helldivers. Yeah. Can't do that because for whatever reason, but clearly it can be done. Of course it can. Games either make a choice to either do it or not. Anyway, PlayStation versus Xbox and Xbox in general. Let me ask you this. Sure. Because I'm sure you've had, obviously I've been kind of tuned out, but I'm sure you've had these conversations on the show. And we've joked about like the L cast and the vibes being of Xbox because they have had a rough go of it. I mean, what is your general feeling about the future of Xbox? I feel like there's one or two things that are going to happen.
23:37Either the doomsayers are right, and it is going to just, you know, Xbox is going to end up going the Sega route, right? Like no more hardware, but, you know, pretty decent publisher. Because obviously they've got this amazing, incredible portfolio of games. Arguably the best single license holder of IP in the business, other than Nintendo, which is obviously unassailable. Really, really good. so it's either going to be that and they'll become the next Sega former hardware and software company now just a software company or they will release this hybrid PC game they've talked about this thing that will play will basically be a PC and play your Xbox games and that will lead to some kind of resurgence because that obviously would be very cool right?
24:26Immediately your playable library goes from however many Xbox games there are to like literally millions of games right and so I don't know which way do you think it's going to go what do you think is going to happen with Xbox what conversation are we going to be having about Xbox at the end of this year I want to believe that they can turn it around see through their vision and really find a niche what is the vision is it the hybrid thing well it's Xbox Play Anywhere that's what they're pushing for right now i think the problem comes from the top down and i think it's microsoft and i think it's microsoft shoving ai into everything i think it's ai losing money and them going you need to make more money xbox it's them closing up studios doing these things pinching uh pennies and then i think putting pressure on phil and his team then to deviate from what they've already done right this is the argument when they raised the price of game pass it was like okay cool we're adding value with fortnight and we're doing this but it's like nobody heard that they just saw the price go up and you imagine that that they lost so much goodwill there this is the problem is like for years in this kind of funny show we've talked about the dominoes being lined up by xbox and you talk about they have this war chest of ip right but they still can't stop stepping on rakes and fucking things up and screwing up the little stuff that just makes it so you go okay whatever and so then to get to like you said you know oh well now xbox is talking about their next xbox and it's going to be a pc and an xbox all in one and you know your steam library will be there and your riot library will be there it'll be what i'm already doing on the rog ally x right on a box in my house or whatever that does sound cool with the exception that i think steam machine is going to come in and do that steam machine i think undercut them by i would imagine hundreds of dollars yeah and i think by the time xbox gets out and goes here it is here's our premium as sarabon said next generation console it will be so much more expensive than this base model that does that thing it is no longer an exciting proposition i think it's the same thing where hey here's the rog ally x xbox edition and everybody went that is so much more expensive than the steam deck and it's like well it does more than the steam deck it's more nobody heard that nobody cared they saw the price and they said i don't want to go that and this is a conversation we've been having for so long before everybody was like cool um we're nvidia and you know what we're going to kind of move away from gaming because everybody wants ai so we need to take but nobody wants ai all the pc components destin i think they talked about in games daily yesterday right?
26:46Destin Laguerre, a friend of the show, a former IGN-er, put up a thing of like what his PC cost to build in 2023 versus what it costs now in 2025. And it's crazy. So like, whatever Xbox is even planning for the PC thing they're talking about to cost, has that now gone up even more because they're looking at how fucking hard it's going to be to get all the components? Yeah, all the prices are all fucked up. I mean, I think that's probably delaying or causing complications for Steam Machine right now. How did they even build these things? They were probably pretty smart not to see what the price was.
27:14of money, obviously, but still, this thing has to work. I do think, in general, that the consolification of the PC is going to be a big thing. Between whatever the next-gen Xbox is going to be, where there'll be a PC component, certainly the Steam machine, which I'm very excited about, I think is going to be really cool. I think, you know, most people always said the biggest problem with PC gaming is, oh, you have to fuck around with drivers, and you and I joke about it all the time. But I think what you'll see is, if you have a couple of key platforms, let's say that these two platforms emerge right the xbox hybrid console that can also play games on steam or whatever pc store you you want and the steam machine which is basically gonna do the same thing um is you're gonna end up with a system that's similar to kind of like steam deck verified right the problem with pc is an open platform everyone's got a different configuration and so those things you don't have the right driver or it's not it's not calibrated for this hardware or whatever whereas with a console you just one set of hardware or two you know like s and x or regular and pro whatever but you know what you're designing for and that's why games don't crash or have you know install problems or whatever the same way but once you get these console type skews emerge that have these locked specs and we know what you know you know what you're designing for when you put out a pc game you're just going to have a build of it a version of it that is you know it's going to work on that machine yeah right and you'll just and and you'll have like steam machine verified is going to be a thing right the same yeah right and and i think you're going to see that when if this xbox PC hybrid machine comes to fruition, anyone who ships a PC game is going to have to make sure it runs clean on that machine, right?
28:46It runs well on that hardware. Because we know it's not going to be a 5090, right? It's going to be like mid-range. Like the Steam machine is like, it's good, but it's not like the best piece. Yeah, no, it's going to be... But for this little form factor, right? Yeah. Because I've spoken to people that, it's actually smaller than you think, apparently. Yeah, sort of. It's really quite small. Yeah. And I'm very excited about getting one in the living room and just having it sit in the little box. As for Xbox, who knows? I do think the Play Anywhere stuff, the cloud thing is, until that architecture gets to a point where it's flawless and it's a long way off from that, I think the solution is going to be more, or at least a hybrid of, there's still going to be local hardware, but we're making it, again, there'll be a nice little box.
29:26I think we're a long way from there not being a box in your living room anymore. There's always going to be some kind of native box with native hardware for a while yet, I think. For a while yet, yes. But I think as you look at stuff like NVIDIA. At least one more generation, right? Xbox is going to ship another piece of hardware, I think. Sony obviously is going to ship a PS6. Have you used NVIDIA GeForce Now? No. So for cloud gaming, I've only done Xbox cloud gaming and... PlayStation? On live? No. Shadow? I mean, GeForce Now is incredibly impressive. That's the good one? Yeah, that's the good one.
30:06I mean, like I personally, I mean, to be full as somebody who's used a lot of X cloud as well. Granted, we're in San Francisco and we all have amazing Internet. My X cloud experience has also been great. OK, I have before the PC handhelds really came in. It was my backbone on my phone using it anyways, though. But in NVIDIA GeForce now, who often does sponsorships with us. This is not a sponsored message. I use it for real. Like you're dialing into it. I think it's a 5080 or 5070. They could tell you or whatever it is in the cloud and playing game. and it is like holy shit this actually works really well to the point of on the rog ally at home when i want to play a game that's on there and i own well i mean obviously i already own it i'll boot that rather than go into steam like for vampire bloodlines i was like oh this looks it was so much better on this obviously than my shitty little handheld yeah yeah so anyways though but anyways i don't think that is about to take over the world no i do think it's interesting as playstation has gone the opposite of xbox where xbox is bang the drum bang their chest x cloud this is the future we're on tvs yeah playstation launched that portal right and hey here's a remote play thing sold better than they thought then they updated the portal like hey now it's got the cloud gaming thing in there like they're trying it and doing it too just not making it this i mean like once ai shits the bed all these fucking massive data centers are gonna have to do something right so you hope so i'm drinking up the fucking lakes i was talking to trisha hershberg yesterday she's at cia she's at ces yeah and uh she said the vibes are bad man so every company here is like everything they're doing is like pushing ai and nobody here wants it no i've never seen a situation we all just live through nfts this is the same fucking thing i've never i've never seen a situation where so i've said this before right the technology ai is that the technology is too powerful to be resisted so like it's it's coming the very very very very when you listen to see you in hell the very first thing you hear is me saying no genre of ai was used in the making of this production enjoy it while it lasts yeah because it's not going to last much longer ai is coming whether you want it or not you can do all you can complain about it you can you can talk about ai slot all you want it's fucking coming and you know why because it doesn't matter what you want it doesn't matter what eight billion people on this planet want it matters what the eight most powerful people on the planet want yeah and if zuckerberg and elon musk and and and these motherfuckers if they want us they want to force it down their throats they're going to fucking do it although you're seeing it happen now apparently microsoft don't if you saw this the other day laying off a bunch of people from the ai division because no one's fucking using copilot because it's shit nobody wants it yeah it's going to be issues how nets out people are like oh it's not the same i'm like yes it is in the way that like they're forcing it in a shitty way i do fully believe that there could there are good uses for ai and i there are many good uses for ai just shoving it on my xbox it doesn't have to be every single thing it's taking you 10 minutes to get through this do you want me to do it for you i was thinking so i was i was playing art raiders the other day with and i waited to i didn't play art raiders right away because i waited until i had some friends to play with because i i didn't I know it's a sweaty game and I didn't want to go in there solo.

32:58I wanted someone to, my favorite thing is like when I jump into a game, if there's someone there with me who's already been playing it for a bit, say, here's something, come over here. Let me show you this. If you could, if you could give me like an AI companion, like that's like, like I'm playing with you. It's like Greg AI. Oh, sure. Hey Gary, come over here. Let me show you. Okay. So if you loot this, you'll be able to get this thing. Like, so like basically if you're going to pretend to be a person, do it in a useful way, like a little AI gaming buddy. Yeah. That's like my virtual friend. I don't need the fucking waifu, fucking AI naked woman on my phone going, oh, you're so handsome.
33:31You're so funny. You know, I just want someone to help me play the games. Right? So give me that. But like, I don't get it. Like fucking Microsoft and all these people come and say, okay, so AI is baked into everything now. And literally everyone, literally everyone says, fuck you, we don't want that. That's bullshit. I hate it. And they go, got it. More AI. I think I hear what you're saying. I think what you're saying is you want us to bake it in more and force it down your throat even more. so the next time you uh you know you've got a cough and you think could this be a cold um you know you because you want someone to oh you should go drink bleach for that yeah try smacking yourself in the head with a fucking hammer see but this is the conversation that again xbox can they overcome all of this because we're not even talking about fable gears of war halo campaign of all forts uh or uh fallout 3 remake and like we're just so hung up on all this other shit now do the if these games come out and hit different story there you go but you look at last year and like the lineup up they had of things that came out and it's like grounded to appeals to a certain audience south of midnight we really liked but we didn't think it was like a great game i know tim loved loved it but like you know there was these problems with it uh you go okay they had oblivion remaster yada yada are is fable going to come this year and will fable deliver is gears of war going to reignite the gears fan base is halo campaign evolved which does not have halo multiplayer going to be a game people plop down their money for and go oh yeah fuck yeah no are they adding that uh mike was very clear yesterday that they do not have it at this time i think that's what they've said okay but to be fair when has multiplayer ever really been an important big part of halo good point that's not it i mean it's not like people are playing that online horizon six bet the house on that game is gonna be fucking awesome i do because we joked about it for a long time but we did obviously because i've not been on the show for a minute a lot of stuff has happened i thought i thought campaign evolved looks brilliant right i mean it looks beautiful you know it's funny that they just keep remastering this game um this is a very obviously a very significant glow but like as soon as they said it was on ps5 i felt like that was the the rubicon moment it's like anything can happen now no yeah right we've been trending that way though and again i mean i think it's the right decision i'm glad it's coming to you know i i'm glad i think the more that this stuff becomes kind of like across every um uh across every platform that's going to help the the console war stuff finally kind of go away so i mean there's not going to be an xbox to fight that's the thing well that is xbox just becomes a program in this and again like i don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility for again microsoft to be looking at the strategy see these components go up in price and go we're not doing another box at least not yet put it way off whatever we're going to focus on you're doing your cloud stuff and this that i wouldn't want to be phil spencer or sarah bond or one of the people in charge of kind of like charting xbox's course right now because i feel like they are you know it's fucking microsoft They are at kind of a point where these two roads kind of diverge and which way are you going to go?
36:14And I think there is a if you look at all the possible I'm Doctor Strange, I have seen 15 billion possible fucking futures and in only one of them does Xbox succeed. No, I think it's like 50-50. I think there's like there's a very viable future successful path for Xbox. I just don't know what it is. Not in hardware though, right? again maybe for one more generation i mean who knows see i it's the successful viable that i don't buy the problem is this this premium thing they're doing i could totally see being a boutique we're doing it but the problem is you mean the hardware yeah yeah i that we know we're not selling millions of these we're just trying and i think that's fine but the gamers won't allow that to be anything other than a surrender i mean stock in xbox is dead dead for it to for it to be a viable gaming pc as well you know we're having this conversation with the steam machine right and everyone's going to know what's the price going to be.
37:05I still think it's going to be around, I think,$799,$849, because I think there's only two SKUs, and the only difference in the SKUs is the storage, I believe. Yeah. I think it's going to be around somewhere between$799 and$899. So that's not console pricing, right? Oh, it's going to be$1 ,000 and up. You think so? Yeah. You can hire? And so obviously they... You're talking about the Xbox? No, I'm talking about the Steam Machine. Sorry, sorry, sorry, I'm caught up. Steam Machine. But Xbox has got a similar... They're building a similar kind of box, right? If it's going to be a viable gaming PC, that comes at a cost.
37:35And so you're going to say, yeah, it's more expensive than a console, but it's also more than a console, right? It's a very different proposition. And coming from Steam, coming from Valve, a company which is primarily known among PC gamers, that's fine. Coming from Xbox, which is primarily known with console gamers, it's a different discussion. So who knows? I obviously continue to root for Xbox while at the same time asking for more game codes on PS5 just in case. It will be interesting. I'm very excited for this developer direct to see what's going on. Of course, they got Starfield to talk about too.
38:10Don't forget that. I want Fable to be great. I don't think Fable's this year, and I also don't know if Fable can be great, but I hope I'm wrong and I want it to be great. Gears doesn't do it for me. Halo doesn't do it for me. Forza, I can't wait for. And of course, I'm a huge fucking Bethesda fan, so I fully believe the Fallout 3 Oblivion style remake is happening. I would love it, love it, love it, love it, love it to end that you finish season two and yes it pops they've not been having the best track record with these remakes so these remasters right like oblivion was a fucking mess the oblivion remake was it yeah the the elder scrolls oblivion yeah but they did they did like a year yeah the remastered one i thought i literally was watching a digital foundry video on it the other day and there's a there's a whole there's a whole slew of um youtube videos of like people encountering you know like all the freakish characters where the graphics are glitching well again remember it's just it is the fucking old game that was already broken with you know let me ask you this fallout 5 elder scrolls 6 all of these all of these things that we know are coming yeah um do you think because you know this is a thing with me it was with starfield it will still be this hello traveler i am here to give you a quest or do you think it'll actually be like talking to real characters that aren't just fucking it'll be like that yeah they're just gonna stick with I love Bethesda games.
39:26I, and I, despite all their many flaws and the way other things have done things better and bolders getting yada, yada, yada. Don't get excited for a Bethesda game thinking it won't be a Bethesda game. Like I don't, I think even this, the hello traveler isn't exactly what star field was. There was market improvements over what fallout four was, whatever fallout three was, et cetera, et cetera. But like, we're talking about these little improvements. I don't think you're going to see for, they're never going to elder scroll fundamentally change their formula. I mean, I think they continue to use their engine, which is like that.
39:55This is what it does and what it looks like. I think it will be better. I don't think it will be revolutionary. Man, you, you can't live in a world where things like Baldur's Gate 3 exist and still, and keep doing that shit, you know, because these games don't exist in a vacuum. If you put Baldur's Gate 3, for example, and Starfield together, I mean, obviously different games. Oh, Cyberpunk in there. What's that? Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk. And look at, and look at the, anytime you go into a character interaction and in Baldur's Gate 3 and cyberpunk it's like they're moving around the space there you know there's different cameras happening like it feels like a scene from a movie it feels like you're really in the scene and again fucking bethesda where it just feels like you're at the hall of presidents welcome to my shop here is my friend it's just you're not wrong it's so fucking it just takes me out of it one of the reasons why i didn't get more into starfield yeah is every time those character reactions going oh this fucking guy again yeah and their eyes are all white you kind of expect if you just look behind the desk there you'd see that it stops here yeah and it's just thing yeah yeah yeah yeah no you're not wrong i just don't think we can sit there and like look at bethesda's games and track record and not go that is what it's going to be uh while we were going blessing sent me a link uh that uh over on kotaku uh they are also corroborating wolfenstein 3 is in the works from indiana jones and the new colossus developers at machine games look forward for more information on that we will of course be reacting live to that xbox direct when it happens paris lily has promised to drive up and be part of it so we're excited for that uh but right now we couldn't have this show.

Ubisoft shuts down Assassin's Creed Rebellion developer Halifax Studios just weeks after it unionized. This is the one, the only award winner here.
45:18She's not the one, the only award winner. This is the one, the only period. The award winner for best reporter on the kind of funny games daily awards last year, Rebecca Valentine. She is sensational. She really is. She's the best. Married a complete dud though. Ubisoft has shut down its Halifax studio just weeks after 61 of its 71 workers voted to unionize. The publisher shared this news in a statement to IGN today, confirming that 71 positions had been impacted and claiming this move was part of a wider two year effort. company-wide to, quote, streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs, end quote.
45:50Quote, we are committed to supporting all impacted team members during this transition with resources, including comprehensive severance packages and additional career assistance, the company added. This comes three weeks after 61 of Ubisoft's Halifax employees voted to unionize with the Game and Media Workers Guild of Canada, which itself is part of CWA, the Communications Workers of America in Canada. The union was officially certified six months after employees announced their intentions to unionize and after 74 % of eligible employees consisting of producers, programmers, designers, artists, researchers, and testing voted in favor.
46:27It marked the first Ubisoft union in North America. Ubisoft has claimed that the closure of Ubisoft Halifax is unrelated to the union and it is instead part of a larger restructuring and cost-saving effort, as well as declining revenues from Assassin's Creed Rebellion, which will also be winding down operations as part of this decision. The publisher has been undergoing significant cuts, laying off employees in batches over the last few years, shutting down studios, and canceling multiple projects amid a series of disappointing releases and falling revenues. Last year, Ubisoft turned outside the company for assistance, creating a new business entity to manage Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six with a 25 % stake from Tencent.
47:05IGN reached out to the Ubisoft Workers of Canada, Halifax, and CWA for comment and received the following, quote, we're devastated that this is happening, especially so soon after we unionized. We're looking into all avenues to fight for the rights of our members, end quote. Gary, you're historically anti-union. Yeah, you know me. More rights for billionaires. Yeah, exactly. Won't someone think of the poor billionaires? We protect them. This one sucks, as always. Every layoff story here on Enclosure Studio, story sucks here on Kind of Funny Games Daily, but we keep doing a lot of them. And of course, really interesting timing to close this whole studio off.
47:44Yeah, I mean, one of the big, the first question that comes out of this and I see it in the chat and that's a valid question. Did forming a union hasten their demise? Yeah. Right? And I think the smart money is most likely, yeah. Yeah. Because the reality is... Here's a headache we don't need. This game is not making money already. We probably were already on the cutting block. Yeah. Here's another headache we don't need on top of that, a fucking union. now we have to treat them like human beings? Fuck off. Yeah, exactly. What are we doing here? I'm historically a union guy. I come from a country that's very union.
48:19I mean, America's, unions built this country. Yeah. I'm a union guy. Yeah. Local 150 operating engineers. I'm still on picket lines more than once. Yeah. Unions are, well, here's the thing. So when you form, and this is why there's so much we've seen it at Starbucks, you see it all over the place. Anytime someone, if you try, if you form a union or even try to form a union, like, you know, go off into the supply closet, with a couple of coworkers. They go like, should we, well, you know, no, but to have a conversation about unions. yeah. It's so telling that that's where you went like immediately.
48:48What am I doing in the supply closet with an employee? I'm like, oh, union, workers rights. He's like, are they going to suck each other's dicks? Are they kissing in there? Yeah, are they kissing? Knock, knock, knock, you guys kissing in there? Seven minutes in heaven? So, yeah, look, you're going to put a target on your back because unions are inherently adversarial towards corporations about Hollywood all the time, right? Hollywood is because it tries to marry art and commerce and they see things that just don't belong together. And anytime, any, anytime there's a conflict, commerce will always win.
49:17Um, in this case, you know, you, again, you've got another thing where just the, the, just the, the goal is completely different, right? And you said, you, how many times have you heard me say it? What, what are companies, why do companies exist? Increased shareholder value. It's all they fucking care about. Right. Um, and why, and why do unions exist? Protect workers and workers' rights. And those two things are fundamentally incompatible. yeah right and so of course they're going to be adversarial and so of course forming a union you are you are whether you that's going to be interpreted whether you want it to be or not as kind of a declaration of war or hostility against your employer because you're saying well we we're forming a group that is fun that has fundamentally different priorities than yours we don't care about your shareholders we are we care about the workers and they and though though they'll never say it the company that what the companies secretly believe is well we don't care about you you're just fucking drone disposable drones you know easily replaceable all we care about is you know enriching ourselves and our and our rich pals and so those two things just don't they can't exist together i mean they somehow do in many cases but this is why we always have strikes and issues and problems because these you can't have big business you know without labor right and businesses you make more money when you when you when you treat labor worse like i'm not telling everybody.
50:30This is not as new information. And what's really sad probably is that we're always very unionized, do this stuff. When you say that, we're saying it so you don't get laid off and lose your job with no recourse and no way to protect yourself. So it sucks to see them cross this finish line, try to get a go, and then just pull the plug on the entire thing so they don't have to worry about any of this. They don't have to do anything. It drives me. The corporate stuff. There's a thing in CD, you remember, there's a line in CD Hell about it. He says, what can we do to keep you in the Netflix family?
50:58Don't say that. You're not a family. You're a fucking corporation. And that was the line that I had sitting around forever. And I finally got to use in the show. It's like, corporations love to pretend they're a family until it's time to pay for their next stock buyback. And then suddenly grandma's clearing out her fucking desk. Yeah. Every time. They do not give a fucking, they do not give a flying fuck about you. And unions are the only shield against that, right? Apes together strong, right? That's the only, trying to break the bundle of sticks. That's the, apes together strong. That's it. That's the entire idea behind unions.
51:29And it is one of the best ideas that human civilization has ever had. Without them, we'd be living in even more of a fucking dystopia than we are right now. Because don't, make no mistake, we're in a fucking dystopia. We're in a dystopia. When are we going to get to that point where it's fucking gone? The ship has sailed. We're in a fucking authoritarian. Look behind you. Yeah, yeah. It's fucking happened already. We're in it. But we'll control the oil now. Number three on the Roper Report. You see that Jack Ryan clip that's been going viral? yeah i mean pretty much says it all uh the lenovo legion go to finally comes with steam os at ces 2026 this is jackalyn thomas's igian the lenovo legion go to came out back in september 2025 and while it was an extremely premium handheld gaming pc it was held back by windows 11 luckily lenovo is fixing that at ces 2026 where it just announced the legion go to powered by steam os the legion goes the lenovo legion go 2 with steam os will come with the same amd ryzen z2 extreme chip and with up to 32 gigabytes of ram and two terabytes ssd the only difference really are the menu buttons which are now aligned with something are now aligned with something like the steam deck or the legion go s and of course the operating system steam os existing legion go 2 owners can install steam os themselves of course but you'd still have to go through the laborious process of installing Linux, which is with it coming out of the box with SteamOS new owners will never have to even look at the Windows desktop.
52:57Lenovo also claims SteamOS has been optimized to make full use of the hardware. If it's anything like the Legion Go S when launched back in June 2025, it may take the Z2 Extreme to another level. Lenovo hasn't released any kind of a release date for the Lenovo Legion Go 2 with SteamOS yet, but I do know, this is Jacqueline, that it will start at between basically $1 ,200 bucks. Sorry, at$1 ,200 M -$100 more than the original Legion Go 2 with Windows. That's odd given that Lenovo doesn't have to pay a fee to license the operating system. We'll have to wait and see what exactly the starting configuration is before we pass judgment.
53:33After all, it's not like RAM is getting more affordable anytime soon. I watch a lot of tech YouTubers. There's a guy I really like called Dave2D, and he did a review of the previous, I think it was the Legion Go, because there was one that was just Windows-based, right? And then there was one that shipped with SteamOS. Same hardware, but the games were like measurably more performant when running on SteamOS. Because SteamOS was an OS that was built from the ground up to run games. Windows is not, never has been. Windows was the beginning. It was to run business machines. Before it was called the PC, it was the IBM PC.
54:13International Business Machines. It was a business machine that accidentally became a game machine. right, or a business OS that was originally meant to run Excel and Microsoft Word and stuff like that and spreadsheets and bullshit like that, and it accidentally became a gaming machine. And it's obviously become a very, very viable gaming machine. Yeah. Right? And Microsoft has leaned into supporting that, like things like DirectX and these major initiatives that have made Windows, you know, a viable gaming platform. Yeah. But it was never a gaming platform from the ground up. And so now they're even admitting this, like with the ROG Ally X, they're like, oh yeah, it's still running Windows, but like it's - You can boot without booting.
54:47Gale it all back. And so why not just admit that Windows should not be fucking running games? If you want to build a gaming machine, build an OS. Take this out. Build it from the ground up. And obviously, again, this is the problem that Xbox has, going back to the earlier conversation, they can't ever be truly autonomous. They can't make that decision. No. Because they can't just say, we're going to scrap Windows, because Satya Nutella is going to come down and fucking read them the right act. What are you talking about? Windows, that's baked into everything you do. Oh, by the way, put Copilot in it as well, because we've got to push that.
55:15I guarantee you that Copilot's going to be, it'll be baked into the next thing. They're going to force it down your throat either way. Of course. So yeah, I don't know, like it's, anytime I hear like, oh, this runs Steam OS, I'm much more interested than like, all of these Windows-based gaming handhelds, no interest at all. Right now, Steam Deck is more than good. Yeah, no interest at all. If it's also running Steam OS, sure. But like I said, go and look at any of these videos that compare the exact same piece of hardware. And this is pretty definitive, right? The same hardware, the exact same machine, one running whatever the windows is that's on that yep and the other one running steam os same game considerably more performant on steam os what is what is that telling you windows no good yeah don't want windows windows no good yeah yeah exactly windows bad windows bad mojo bad why you why use many words when one word all right gary when xbox finally drops windows that would be big news.
56:11If I wanted smaller news, say the tiniest news I need to know about, where would I go? I want to appreciate... Oh, I said so. Blessing accidentally printed out my show notes on card stock. Yeah, we were making kind of... I was going to make a joke about a stiffy, you know, like, I couldn't... I didn't come up with anything good. That's right. You tore right to it. You didn't even have to make the joke. You could have just gone straight into it. You'd go to our last story. The We News Channel. See, right as I remember... I got the old one off by heart, and then you fucking give me this new one.
56:39You'd go to our last story, the Wii News channel, where we cover all the small news items you need to know about. Number four, the Wii News. PlayStation has revealed the Hyperpop collection of PS5 accessories over on the PlayStation blog. Today, we're sharing the first look at the Hyperpop collection, featuring three new striking designs for DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers. Ooh. Ooh. I like that lime green one. Here you are, a controller guy. You have a bajillion Xbox. Yeah, and I have like nine Dual Senses now as well. Nice. I do like this. All right. With glossy backs shifting into vivid neons, each finish.
57:17Oh, and the plates as well? Okay. The plates I can, you know, go without. I'm fine. No, but I like the green and the blue controllers. Red's not my color, but I like the green and the blue. That's good. Are these out now? Hyperbot Collection launches on March 12th. Pre-orders begin January 16th on direct.playstation.com. Okay. Yeah, I like the green one a lot. It's a nice controller. Again, as I've been coming over to PlayStation more, I've been... Okay, so I'll give you another good example of it. So because I'm on... Again, Arc Raiders is my game right now. I'm really enjoying that game. And I'm playing on PC and PS5 because we talked about cross-progression.
57:53On PC, I typically play on an Xbox controller. PlayStation 5, obviously, I've got to use a DualSense. And if I'm playing the same game, I don't want to have to go back... I don't want to have to be learning on two different controllers. So I just plugged the DualSense into my PC and started playing. so when i go to playstation 5 it's the same thing i really i mean i've said it before but it's a nice nice controller it's a very nice you really you know xbox the xbox series controller is one of the all-time greatest controls ergonomically like it just does the job right yeah but if you want all the bells and whistles like i was playing art raiders and just like the like the haptics and the sound coming through the control it just it freaked me out because i had my sound settings messed up on the ps5 pro yeah um and uh i started a voice chat and it starts coming through the fucking the speaker.
58:35Yeah, yeah, yeah. I felt like my controller was possessed. Yeah, exactly. Because I'm not used to using that feature. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll catch you off guard. But just a lot of things like that, like in GTA where like the police siren is coming through the, anytime there's like a radio or something, it's coming through the controller, it just, it's just an extra element of like, it's just cool. It's just cool. And I think what you'll see with the next generation of Xbox controllers is they're going to have to rip off stuff like that. A thousand percent. And apparently there'll be Wi-Fi direct for the cloud.
58:59I still prefer the feel of the series controller in my hands just because historically that's what my hands are used to. Yeah. But the DualSense is, one of the biggest problems with the PlayStation for many years is they never liked the DualShock, and the DualSense almost entirely fixed that. Great controller. Yeah. Next on Wii News, made in the 956 PSJA North High School graduate Andy Cortez. What is this? Andy is on the local news. KRGV TV. He's back in the Rio Grande Valley. They don't play no games. The local news did a piece on Andy. Oh, he was on the local news? A big time streamer. A Valley native is putting his - Let's have a look at this.
59:32Well, play with some sound. Let's go. We spoke with Andy Cortez and his journey and how the Rio Grande Valley has helped him in his career. Here's this week's Minute 956. How did he pull this off? I don't know. He didn't tell anybody about it. Is Andy like the most famous person to come out of this town? In San Francisco. The Valley has thousands of gamers. Amazing. Everybody should go watch it. KRGV.com. You can scroll through and get it there. I really appreciate that they went out of their way, not to mention the YouTube numbers. So we look like we're so fucking small potatoes. They're like on Instagram.
1:00:06The company has made in the nine five six. It's amazing. Congratulations. Andy's got to add made in the nine five six to his shop. Yeah, I like that. From game developer dot com. Discord has confidentially filed for an initial public offering to go public. Interesting. A bowl of villages coming to PlayStation on January 23rd. Jesus Christ. Ebola village? Ebola village. We have a trailer. What the fuck? What is going on here? What the fuck? Oh, it's scary. Okay. I should hope so with a name like that. I don't remember Ebola being like this, though. Why is she dressed like that if there's Ebola?
1:00:44Can you not wear skimpy clothes when there's Ebola? There's way too much skin. Well, yeah. It eats your skin. She's a woman and she's a video game. There are still rules, Greg. Oh, sorry. My apologies. Okay. Looks like some low-budge Resident Evil. It looks very low-budge. we like supporting low budge games here indie devs they need love too maybe I mean I can't tell creepy dolls it'll probably be better than Resident Evil Village so you got that going for you and then Breck X has been announced there's a trailer for this one too Kevin if we can see that Breck X X X X another smaller looking game good art style fighting a frog man who doesn't love that if you can dodge a fist you can dodge a frog okay I like it when games try to do something different visually you know for sure and that's it for we knew we turn our lonely eyes to the YouTube super chats where you can be part of this show the co-op bro super chats and says hey guys wanted to send a special thanks to Greg for the shout out he gave last month it helped us cross the 100k mark before the new year hope you all enjoy the holidays and congrats on 11 years congrats to you the co-op bros remember if you're looking for co-op strictly based co-op reviews and stuff.
1:01:56The co-op bros on YouTube. That's their whole shtick and they do a really nice job with it. Dave Bro says, today is the 13th year anniversary of my dad passing away. No better way to spend it than watching two of the best gaming dads in the industry. Dave, we're sorry about your father. I know grief doesn't get easier. It's actually what today's Gregway is about. I lost my dad a few years ago. Because of COVID, I couldn't even go to his funeral. I had to watch it on a live stream. How fucked up is that? Our former nanny, now just our friend She's Brazilian, same thing I wrote a eulogy for my dad Someone else had to read it out And I watched it on a fucking live stream at 3 o 'clock in the morning And the live stream didn't even work properly COVID man Remember that?
1:02:38You were ahead of the curve on that one too I still remember Andrea Rene On Kind of Funny Talking about, oh they shouldn't cancel E3 It's going to be fine, don't worry about it Cut to It was fucking bad I mean, a lot of people got it wrong. Yeah, I know. A lot of people got it wrong. Marvel Super Chats, it says, birthday tax plus Super Chat. First Super Chat. Here's hoping in 2026, Xbox finally gets some games. Please, anything. Again, you had a lot of games last year. Let's not throw Outer Worlds 2 out, okay? That's a great game. You should go play it. But are you going to have the bangers? Are you going to have the bangers this year?
1:03:12What was your favorite game of last year? Or have you not done that yet? We haven't done that. I've already been. I've, you know. Have you, like, declared it? I've said Octopath Traveler Zero. Oh, really? Yeah. That's kind of a deep cut. It is a deep cut. None of the obvious ones? Seasoned game. No, I didn't know. Are you trying to do like a, you're trying to come across as like a fucking bougie gamer? No. Anybody who watches any of this knows I'm a fucking idiot. You know what I mean? I'm the most give me a Bud Light guy you talk about games. The games I'm into, you've probably never heard of them.
1:03:39Yeah, no, no. Random Drinker says, just learned Batman Fortress exists after internet stalking Mr. Witter. Oh, yeah. Scooping up a copy right now. It's a good book. You're prolific. why you do that Greg you're the best type of maniac you huggable psycho thank you for caring and thanks for everyone go pick up Batman Fortress Gary's Batman yeah limited series right yeah Batman I forget it was fuck it was oh god I don't remember it's a graphic novel you can get right now I think it was six and then we put it in and we obviously graphic novelized it and it's got Superman in it it's got all your well not all your favorite we kill most of them off really early on but it's got most of your favorite the Duff Man says love you Gary how do I get my Death Trooper helmet it's signed by a legend such as yourself find me at a convention or something but i'm not i haven't done too many of those lately but like next time you see i'll always sign and i'll never charge you either remember we're trying we announced this in our our 11 year anniversary trying to do game or the top 100 games with a live audience here in august i bet we could get your ear to come through on a day it's funny because i was at a convention um a couple of years ago and they sat me next to chris claremont who you know of course i mean like basically created the x-men as we know them today.
1:04:48Yeah, yeah, yeah. And really nice guy, English guy, grumpy old English guy like me. So we were table neighbors and we got on. I'm a Spurs fan and he's an Arsenal fan so there was that. We got very friendly and then the last day, completely coincidentally, I showed up wearing a Spurs shirt and he showed up wearing an Arsenal shirt. I'm like, oh, are you fucking kidding me? That's funny. Does this all have to go down the tubes now? But no, I like Chris a lot but it was really funny because he was signing and obviously he had a massive line because he was by Claremont and I didn't because I'm not.
1:05:11You had Space Rocks. Yeah, Space Rocks which we sold out of, by the way. I know. Fuck you. And he's got this massive line literally around the block and there's me with like, occasionally someone will wander over. And he's charging, again, I'm not making any judgments. Most people do it. He's charging whatever it is, $20 for an autograph or something. And I've always said, if you ever catch me at a convention or anywhere charging you money for an autograph or a photograph, punch me in the fucking face because I will never, ever do it, ever. and again that's not to say that people that do it shouldn't do it it's just not my bag but I was saying like without realizing people come up to me say like how much would an auger I say oh nothing I would never charge you for anything and Chris is over there like fuck you wait maybe I'm the chump this is the guy with the big box of money I've got fucking nothing over here you're the one putting out audio dramas trying to save your life maybe maybe it's a thing that's like if I put up 20 somebody said once if you really want to get rid of a piece of furniture like you leave it out front with a sticker that says free on it no one will take it put a thing on it that says 50 bucks it'll be gone the next day right people think it's worth something they'll take it so i should do like autographs 50 bucks but go he must be somebody exactly that's the thing it's all fucking mind games jason or you know create the x-men my idea sounds easier hey man you created rogue one i didn't create it like they stole your idea they made andor you must be pissed all the time don't talk to me about that one jason says birthday tax turning 31 and get to hang out with you all while i work from home today happy birthday congratulations on 11 years of kind of funny i've been listening and watching for a while i look forward to many more years we'll be here with your support uh ty wilkins vo who's a kind of funny best friend who has been a vo actor who has broken through and is doing more vo than ever it says pity voice in a gary production that's a dream come true can't wait to listen gary uh remember of course you can go to see you in hell.tv right now and listen to gary's new thing but listen okay so this is the tip if you want to hear greg's voice in see you in hell and he is very good in it thank you and lucy's very good in it as well and so is so is elise um originally greg was one of the first voices on the show that you heard because his voice was part of the intro and then when i was recording i decided i wanted to do i wanted to do something completely different with the intro so we completely re-recorded it but i didn't want to disappoint you yeah thank you and lucy well mostly lucy because she's the only one out of the three that i really know and elise no actually you're the only one i don't like that's what it is yeah so but i didn't want I didn't want to disappoint Lucy and Elise.
1:07:31So I took that old intro and I kind of reconfigured it a little bit so it didn't have to be the intro anymore and I put it in the back. So if you listen to See You Now, which you should, stay through the credits because there's bonus stuff at the end and it's got Greg in it. Joey Radstone has the copium I need. He says, maybe season two ends at the Capitol Wasteland and then Fallout 3 drops. Man, you're voiced in God's ears, but I don't know. You know what I mean? I did charge for... Hold on, Joey Radstone. Go fuck yourself. Yes, I did charge for rocks, but that wasn't an autograph. That was an actual physical product that I made.
1:08:04And by the way, that can only appreciate in value. Just wait until I'm dead. Think about what that'll be worth then. The value of an artist's work goes up immeasurably after they die. So just hold on. If you've got a copy of Space Rocks or a signed copy of Batman Fortress, I'm 53 fucking years old, and the way I live, trust me, it ain't going to go on for much longer. Hold on to that shit, because it's going to be worth a lot of money after I'm popping my clogs. I don't understand this one. Ronnie says, Gary, unfortunately a match today. Are you Frank in or out? Sorry, what was the question? Oh, maybe out.
1:08:37What is this? Is this a hot and spot? Yeah, oh, so actually somebody, I mean, I understand why you wouldn't do it. I don't think it would really fit, but like somebody suggested kind of footy. I know, that would just be tank. I would 100 % host it though. Maybe I just want to do it myself. I watch a lot of these football YouTubers, these fan channels, and I kind of, I don't have the time, but I would love to do it myself. I would love to do one of those. Thomas Frank is the current manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, which is obviously my longstanding club. And the vibes are not great right now.
1:09:06But, I mean, they haven't been basically my entire life. Ah, I see. So I don't know what's going to happen next. Could be worse. Could be Liverpool. Could be Manchester United. Yeah. Could be West Ham. West Ham are going to get fucking relegated. I fucking love it. Anyway, sorry. You started asking me about it. I know. I'm glad you guys have nothing to contribute to the conversation. and that is another episode of kind of funny games daily in the bank remember our programming day is far from done we're going to do a games cast after this about everything we played over christmas break then we're streaming video games and having fun but more importantly since gary's next to me you should go to see you in hell.tv subscribe on your audio platform you can go to see you in hell.tv or you can just go directly to apple podcasts or spotify or iheart or pocket casts or any of these Wherever you get your podcasts, you can go get it.
1:09:56And the first episode is there. First and only episode right now until I have any indication there's an appetite for more. But you see right there, we have all these little links. And it's very easy to find the show. And hopefully you'll enjoy it. If you'd like, please do leave a rating. It helps immensely, I'm told. I don't know anything about podcasting. Yeah, it helps. They said even if you leave a bad rating. Rate us while we're doing it. But don't leave a bad rating. But even if you leave a bad rating, it all counts as engagement. Don't do that. No, but leave a good rating. Anyway, yeah, it's really funny.
1:10:21I think you'll enjoy it. Basically, like I said, me just venting my frustrations about why Hollywood is such a fucked up business and wrapped up in, you know, there's a story.
