In short

Kinda Funny Games Daily (Sept 22, 2025) covers: (1) Xbox raising U.S. console prices again, (2) review roundup for Silent Hill F, and (3) leaked concept art/gameplay details for the canceled Xbox Perfect Dark reboot, plus a brief note on a Europe “Pixels to Policy” campaign.

Guests/hosts

No external guests. Hosts are Blessing at the top (with co-hosts Tim “Little” and “Coyote”/other regulars mentioned in the intro).

Key claims

  • Xbox price hikes start Oct 3 in the U.S. only; controllers/headsets unchanged; attributed to “macro economic environment” (tariffs cited by hosts).
  • Silent Hill F reviews are strong overall; praised for psychological horror, narrative, and “return to form,” with some criticism of melee combat/uneven encounters.
  • Perfect Dark leak suggests an adrenaline system (finite resource) for healing, damage buffs, reduced damage taken, bullet-time, aiming precision, and speed; also implies episodic “season one” structure.

Notable examples

  • Xbox Series S 512GB: $400 (+$20); Series X Digital: $600 (+$50); Series X 2TB Galaxy Black: $800 (+$70).
  • Silent Hill F scores cited: Metacritic ~85, OpenCritic ~87; GameSpot 9/10; IGN 7/10.

0:00Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here for Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for$15 a month is back. So I thought it would be fun if we made$15 bills, but it turns out that's very illegal. So there goes my big idea for the commercial. Give it a try at mintmobile.com slash switch.

0:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Today's stories include Xbox console prices are going up in the U.S., Silent Hill F reviews are in, and new details about the canceled Perfect Dark. We'll have all this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily.

0:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily from monday september 22nd 2025 i'm one of your hosts blessing at eoye jr excuse me joining me is little coy poppy tim mo boy yetis you're saying xbox console prices going up in the u.s again i was like again after last week but i was like no okay we didn't cover the news story yes no this came in later on no we put up the wrong prices you know what i can't imagine that's what's terrifying yeah all of this oh god how was your weekend weekend was good weekend was busier than i anticipated magic it seemed oh yeah played a lot of me and still like mike hung out for most yeah the magicians that's what they call both of us hung out for most of the day yesterday because we went to a pre-release event i was explaining this to greg of like before the week before you have like new sets come out uh you can go to game stores and basically play games and take those cards home and the more games you win you win prize packs and so me and mike went home with three prize packs hell yeah we won a few games we won one game and got a buy and so basically we had to sit out for a round but that counted as a win for us and so went home with some extra pack take it yeah w is a w um it was for the spider-man set which was a really really fun time i saw i was nervous about this one because i saw a lot of haterade going around about this set from the magic community and going into it i was like all right what bullshit they got i fucking love this set okay i think this is a really fun one what were they hating on i don't know mike told me casually they're like oh yeah the magic streets aren't liking this from what i gather and this is just in general when it comes to the collaborate what i gather magicians do they gather uh in general i think the amount of collaboration stuff is kind of weighing down on them like i think people want original magic content yeah And so when you have this year, that is Final Fantasy and Spider-Man and Avatars coming up.

2:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It's like, I'm excited because I like those things. But also I get where people are like, well, I love my magic shit. You know what I mean? Like, I want fantasy, you know, this stuff. And so I think that's probably part of it. And then mechanically, I don't know. I don't know what they were looking for mechanically out of it. I do love that the chat seems to understand what's going on. Everyone's just mad there's so many Spider-Men. The size of the set is small and the amount of Spider-Men is huge. Which is just great. It's like, what do you want out of a Spider-Man set? It's Spider-Man. Yeah, there's, you know, they got multiverses and all this shit.

3:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:So there's a million Spider-Men. Oh, yeah, that is true. They don't have commander sets for this, like a commander pre-con for this, which upsets me. But also, like, I'll just make my own. Yeah. You know what I mean? I love deck building. So that's where we're at. Love that. But yeah, I did that yesterday for the majority of the day. And then on Saturday, went to the theater and I saw the new Kanye West documentary or new yay documentary. I did not realize I was in theaters. yes only in theaters not on streaming okay um let me tell you that shit was stressful yeah that shit was a stressful watch um not my favorite documentary by any means like it's very much there was a a dude who i think is 26 now um around the age of 20 just started following yay around everywhere and recording like all of his stuff and the idea of it was that yay wanted somebody to record his like mental health journey and kind of like be able to put that out in an authentic way um and so this dude just recorded yay from the years of 2018 to 2024 so this is a spiritual successor to the last documentary where the exact same thing happened but with a different dude 1000 % not the best when you think about what that entails but okay um the last documentary i really enjoyed from like it was just well put together this one felt like just a series of clips edited together with like no interviews it's just raw this is life that time frame when i tell you that man i i came out of it feeling bad oh yeah i came out of it feeling stressed i'm surprised that you went to see it specifically in theaters like that's a choice yeah here's my my thing is i grew up a kanye west fan right and i think there's a level of it that sort of feels like closure to see it to like kind of see the inner workings of what he was like doing and going through and all this stuff but ah it just sucks it's the thing where it's like when you combine somebody who refuses to get help somebody who's going through such severe like bipolar disorder like episodes um and then also somebody who just believes in a lot of bullshit right like it just leads into man this is a recipe for disaster because you also have so much power and influence and everybody oh man it's a fascinating watch because you just see people open doors for him because he is who he is and because he has as much power and money as he does and so he's in rooms with very important people being him being fucking saying the most like bullshit oh my god tim i'll say you should watch i mean yeah no hey i don't recommend most people watch yeah yeah i get it i get it there's uh i also had a very stressful time in the theater i watched uh stephen king's the long walk i was gonna go there no uh you should excellent excellent film but yeah very stressful and not a fun watch by any means yeah a lot more violent than i expected even when i was told it's very violent so yeah there's there was a lot going in there but yeah definitely uh it is a fucked up movie it's just so messed up to be in the state of the world we're in right now watching like fiction it's like less fucked up seeming than things that are actually happening and you're watching you're like this is the most fucked up thing i've ever seen uh we're about i mean there's a list of movies though this fall yeah i feel i should listen to the screencast that y 'all did last week of every movie coming out yes because i want to watch long walk i also want to watch the new leonardo dicaprio yeah which looks great yeah one one battle at a time one more battle after another one battle after another yeah that sounds right i think so yeah i want to watch that a lot of movies happen yeah and also a lot of video games so many video because remember this is kind of funny games daily each and every week that we run you through the nerdy news you need to know about live on youtube twitch and on podcast services around the globe if you love what we do support us with the kind of funny membership on patreon youtube spotify and Apple Podcasts to get all of our shows ad-free.

7:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Watch us record them live and get a daily exclusive show. For a chance to be a part of the show, some of your thoughts and opinions as YouTube Super Chats as we go. Housekeeping for you, we're an 11-person business, all about live talk shows. So today, after KFGD, you're going to get Gamescast, which is our Silent Hill F review. Madeline Stanley is joining us for that. She's played through the game for us and we'll be talking to her all about that and then after games cast is the kind of funny podcast and then the stream afterwards is one with andy there was a game that's written that was written there that's not there so i assume it's not that game i wanted to i wanted to give him kind of the out on that game just in case because i feel like the conversation he had about it it didn't seem like he was super excited to play that so i just wanted to give him the options because the game was going to be dying like the beast and i was also kind of surprised that andy's name was on dying like the beast because i don't know if he's actually played the so i don't know if he's like if he's in the mood to play so i just you know i just i took that out that's fair that's fair and then this morning a new episode of kind of anime went up on youtube and in review podcast feeds where barrett and mike discussed the new demon slayer movie don to don season two and much more which is really exciting i've been seeing i've been hearing a lot about that demon slayer movie oh if you want to hear more it's good it's okay i was gonna ask you but i didn't want to spoil kind of anime but now you got to go you got to listen to it to what all the hype is about maybe i'll listen to it maybe i'll supposed to be on this and then get around to watching donna i was really i really thought you'd be uh caught up on down to down yeah it's just been it's the video games so many games it's just a busy season and also you know i was gonna jokingly include king of the hill in this episode because you know it's everybody's favorite anime but yeah uh with you not on it it didn't feel right so real quick i i know we're like already going long in this intro i just want to say i know we the three of us were watching king of the hill uh as it was going i don't think we ever fully caught up after it was done but the biggest takeaway i have is gia who dislikes animation i would just say that like she just it's just for some reason it loses her and she knows that's a problem but she can't get past it just is what it is and also like comedy animation very much not her thing she fell in love with king of the hill this is because it's so good when it ended she's like i i can't wait for more and i was like we can go back she's like no we watched some of the old stuff she's like this this is see i did the same thing yeah because i didn't i i didn't watch watch king of the hill it was always like on tv uh but i after the new season i loved it so much that i tried to go back and i was like i'll just wait for them to release new ones exactly exactly but i just i love that it it won her over like that's just how good that shit was dude check out king of the hill on hulu man it's good stuff Like the best compliment I can give was just like, you posted it like a blessing 10 minutes after I had finished the last episode as well.

9:57And it's like, man, I really wanted the next episode already. Like I was really sad to realize that that was the last episode and it ends in such a, a good place if you've been invested in those characters. So yeah.

10:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Did Futurama ever come back? Yes. Yeah. Futurama is back for like, but like the most recent times I saw it was in the news like a year ago or something. Yeah. That, that first season came out and it's back for its second season back as like, uh, you know, the coming back. Is it good? I don't know. Oh, you don't want to watch it? You're like, I'm done with Futurama coming back a million times. It ended so perfectly already. Like, I don't know. Oh, do you know what's on right now that I've been into already? Gen V. Oh, it's back. Fuck, it's so good. We're so fucking back. It's so good. Dude, between that and Peacemaker right now, when superhero TV is good, it's fucking good.

10:43We've had so much just bleh in the last couple of years, but we've also had some hitters. And right now, having two of those a week, I'm like, we are eating, man.

10:52Blessing Adeoye Jr.:We're so bad. If you're a Kind of Funny member, today's Greg Way is Greg's 24-minute review so far of Skate. Wow, he's been playing Skate. Thank you to our Patreon producers, Carl Jacobs, Omega Buster, and Delaney the Song Twining. Today, I'm brought to you by Shady Raisin Factor, but we'll tell you about that later. For now, let's begin with what is and forever will be the Roper Report. It's time for some news. we have six stories today starting with our number one xbox console prices are going up in the u.s again this is from rebecca valentine at ign xbox console prices are about to go up once again in the u.s after already rising back in may announced on friday xbox will increase the retail pricing of Xbox Series S, Series X Digital, and Series X 2TB Galaxy Black Special Edition consoles beginning on October 3rd.

11:53Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Prices for controllers and headsets will not change, and there will be no pricing changes outside of the U.S. at this time. Price increases will be as follows. So the Series S 512GB is going to$400. That's up$20. Xbox Series S 1TB is going to$450. That's up$20. xbox series x digital is going to 600 that's up 50 xbox series x uh is going up to 650 that is up 50 and then xbox series x two terabyte galaxy special edition which doesn't sound real is 800 that is up 70 xbox says the price increases occurred quote due to changes in the macro economic environment uh and adds that in the future it'll continue to focus on offering more ways to play more games across any screen and providing value for xbox players and quote tim what are your thoughts on the macroeconomic environment this is rough like it sucks we know why this is happening and that reason sucks we don't need to go over it again yeah right it's tariffs this we know what this is happening like we all saw it coming and now we're in that world and it's like saying i told you so i don't even know what that helps but here we are i told you so cool uh it just sucks because like these numbers are insane prohibitively expensive for a console that already wasn't selling so this is going to be such a problem like the i imagine that this stuff is just gonna be sitting on store shelves like who in their right minds in 2025 is buying an xbox series x for 600 the digital edition if you want the disc drive and you want more terabytes you're going up even more like eight hundred dollars for a xbox right now is crazy work yeah but it is what it is i get where we're at it was very um fucked up that iphone uh iphone 17 announcements happened last week right and pre-orders go up and it sucks that i was stoked to the point that i went fuck yeah when i saw the prices because the prices didn't go up from last year prices are insane i should not be excited about this but i was so sure that we were about to be and it was about to be insanely more expensive and you know apparently there was like some stuff with trump and the tariffs of not affecting smartphones in certain ways because they understand that the the economy of all that like would affect them negatively that sucks that they get to pick and choose things like that just based on what affects them this is going to affect so many people and again it just like comes down to this happened across the board this is not an xbox versus playstation console or bullshit in any way shape or form everyone's hardware is being affected it's just the hardware being affected i think affects xbox more than it affects others because they already had trouble selling this stuff and this is all bad news there's no good news to come with this there's no like well at least blah blah blah it's like yeah we're already being told by xbox hey this generation is changing by next generation we're working on a pc platform ecosystem why would you buy an xbox right now yeah yeah i i think you said it all there i think the thing that jumps out at me is seeing the xbox series s 512 s s right 512 gigabyte being 400 and that being the skew where i looked at that when it first launched was which was correct me if I'm wrong$300 and I remember seeing that being like oh I can for sure buy that for my nephew for Christmas right I can for sure like that's something I can I can you know dish out the money for seeing that at$400 no absolutely not yeah there are these like there are lines everybody just has their lines based on their own economic situations right yeah and they know their finances better than anyone else does and like yeah you're saying that it's like there are the difference between 300 and 400 for your place in life yes that's that for me that's that and like yeah i do think that these numbers are talking about like sure oh it's just 20 up well it's 20 up from three weeks ago when it was 20 up like this is not the first time these xbox consoles have had price increases like obviously again we're not saying anything that we haven't already said but how fucked up is it that we are this deep into a console generation five years since the Xbox series debuted and the prices are higher not lower like I remember and I this is just old man talking shit but it's just like I remember when the N64 dropped like under a hundred dollars oh man oh man that was crazy and that was at that point it was like oh shit I can buy a PlayStation now I was a Nintendo 64 boy I now can get into the PlayStation ecosystem because that system after releasing at whatever it was 300 was it even 300 when it first came out I don't even know if it was that much yeah i know ps2 was ps1 i'm not sure but i remember buying the ps1 when it came out like when it dropped like to literally like a hundred dollars and i again i know old man shaking his fist at cloud shit but like just even considering that it's the opposite now and it's just endless and that i don't think this is gonna be the last time this happens yeah um i think my thing is i also expect this to increase the marketing for hey play anywhere you know if you got a phone you can play xbox on your phone if you got a tablet if you got a pc if you got a samsung smart tv if you have i imagine more tvs by now right they've expanded this the smart tv thing to more yeah the lgs lgs yes okay that's what i thought i felt like we talked about that recently but yeah um yeah i think that's a push they're going to make more and more because i i think out of all the companies microsoft is a kind of ahead of the curve i think partly based off of just how their businesses shifted and how they kind of had to change with game game pass and having all these studios under the belt and all this stuff right like you need to find ways for people to play your game and yeah to your point this shit's gonna be sitting on shelves already xboxes were sitting on shelves but now it's like okay well if we're not able to get people in with the exorbitant amounts of uh exorbitant amount of money it's going to cost to continue to buy an xbox console we're going to find other ways for people to get in which is going to be the cloud stuff and it's going to be the uh play anywhere stuff i imagine yeah i just can't in good faith recommend anybody buy an xbox at this point at these prices like that's that's crazy uh i want to bring in some super chats these are unrelated well they're related to conversations we're having earlier uh jerston seven writes in and says hard to watch king of the hill if you ain't from texas i disagree i mean i guess i'm from the midwest which is kind of like i disagree with that but yeah i'm also from the midwest so maybe there's some some kinship there yeah i mean i fucking loved it yeah he's a coastal elite yeah i mean for sure

18:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:um kyle labeuf says bless bring back the pause to zelda sticker i it was just too big and too it took over too much here's my thing bless uh-huh it was too big and it's too big of a statement about you you know what i mean you're not that guy i never wanted to say it but now that it's gone i feel like it's i'm allowed to yeah really it was the size it's like the best it was the size it was a solid green the prominence of it it's just like you're not that guy what was the what was the uh really funny sticker that uh yeah i had that back i had on here's my thing right y 'all gotta make fun of me more because i put the zelda sticker on my laptop and i i forgot it was there like legitimately every day i come into work and i'm like oh today's the day i gotta take out the zelda sticker and i forget every single time until i'm mid-episode and i look up and i'm like oh there's all the stickers that's bring back pug funny dude and pug tillos was when i also got self-conscious enough about because the chat would make fun of pug tillos and a way where i'm like it's such a funny sticker and that's my sense of humor but also i was like i don't want i don't want that to be my brand you're a liar well this is like it's um liza p it's a liza p reference and so now it's like okay these are all gaming references that you may get but yeah the ipod zelda to be blessed so insecure yes i am so insecure chat all right with it okay we're all just trying to get by xboxes or a thousand dollars we all have flaws and that is mine all right it's my insecurity uh lifted i says apple gave trump a gold trophy to remove uh tariffs and then uh gerardo is sorry gerardo gerard is cool and says do y 'all have a halloween costume in mind yet i like that as a off-topic question i don't i i don't either and like i tend to not really do the halloween thing every once in a while i'll do it but like i'm getting a lot of pressure from g now because she's all pregnant and shit she got this big old bump yeah she's like we gotta do this is our only chance to do a baby halloween thing and i'm just like and like the only thing i'd be down to do is fantastic four okay but i wanted to look because their outfits are sick and i'm like well i'm not mad at wearing that but i don't think i can get her the pregnant sue costume you know what i mean i don't think they make that that's pretty neat oh like okay maybe i don't know if you do a little bit of research i feel like you could find it yeah you know i'm gonna look up pregnant sue storm see what happens uh jerson seven says did y 'all get a collector booster too this is back to the spider man magic conversation uh no we might get sent them i don't know yet uh if we're gonna get those in the mail but Mike went to four events this weekend his internet went out on Friday apparently and the shop that we go to has pre-release events that start at 11pm and so at midnight this motherfucker was playing Magic on Friday and then went back three more times on Sunday with me and so he bought a lot of Magic cards God bless him.

21:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's awesome. And then Terry Huffman writes in and says Roger and Snowback Mike are the best combo which shout out to that in our um we're doing kfg 2000 uh in a few weeks uh we're celebrating the 2000th episode of kind of funny games daily and that's coming up we put up a poll uh and like one of the questions we had was what is your favorite kfg duo let me tell you reading through the answers very fascinating enlightening a lot of duos i wouldn't even expect yeah yeah just i i appreciate the variety in there everybody has their own duo oh yeah yeah everybody has their own favorite and that was very nice to see love that let's move on to story number two silent hill f reviews are out we got a roundup for you right now on metacritic is sitting at an 85 on open critic it is sitting at an 87 oscar taylor kent at games radar plus gave it a four out of five and says every part of silent hill f is a piece of a jigsaw and those jigsaws once completed are bigger are bigger jigsaw pieces of an even larger jigsaw puzzle and once you get a sense of what the jigsaw picture is even with pieces still missing you begin to feel a little unwell which is why i'm a little disappointed that uneven combat encounter design threatens to pull me out of it and makes it hard to recommend for those who may find the easiest settings too irritating to push through but those horror highs those horror highs raise the bar for the genre standing on its own silent hill f is a great place for newcomers to get into the series ellie gold at pc gamer gave it a 90 out of 100 and said, Silent Hill F is a true return to form, a game that not only can stand proudly shoulder to shoulder with other Goliaths in the series, but one that is brave enough to take risks and deploy changes to set the groundwork for what I hope to be the standard of Silent Hill games going forward.

23:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Jessica Cogswell at GameSpot gave it a 9 out of 10 and says, Silent Hill F is not just a return to form, it's a remarkable evolution. It's a visual spectacle, a mastercrafted in psychological horror, a work of narrative brilliance, and a new benchmark for the Silent Hill series. And then Tristan Ogilvie at IGN gave it a 7 out of 10 and says Silent Hill F presents a fresh new setting to explore and a fascinatingly dark story to unravel, but its melee-focused combat takes a big swing that doesn't quite land. Of course, our games cast after this is going to be our Silent Hill F review featuring the one and only horror queen Madeline Stanley.

24:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But Tim, going through these reviews, what's your response? I think this is awesome. I think this is really, really great that we are seeing a new entry in a Konami franchise review well. And a new entry that doesn't just follow up what came before, but this is different for Silent Hill, right? A very different setting, a very different tone and look. And I think that it achieving what they set out to is so great because this was not a foregone conclusion. like just a couple years ago and i mean maybe two years ago we're looking down it's just like all right there's metal gear solid uh delta we have silent hill 2 remake from blooper team and then there's the silent hill f there's also a bunch of other silent hill things like a movie and this and that whatever um and there was very little faith i think in all of that there was like a hope but now that we're on the other side it's like hey they kind of did the damn thing like Like, yeah, there were some misses here and there with some of the side projects.

25:09But with the core projects that they needed to pull off, they're three for three. And I think that that's very good for gaming and for Konami specifically. Like, to look at the iconic Japanese developers that we have that have access to such insane IP. I mean, Castlevania, baby, where you at? Yeah. But I just think that this is a very good sign. and um i also think that it's good that we within a year we get a remake of a beloved game in the franchise and a brand new entry that are both doing very very well like silent hill is back

25:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yeah that's great yeah this makes me so happy for silent hill fans and also makes me really want to try this game like this is one that and i i feel like i keep saying this so i sound like a broken record and then chat tell me to stop if i'm saying it too much but like if there weren't so many video games coming out right now this is one that i for sure would would want to get to uh and still i'm gonna try to get to before the end of the year right like i think seeing that like you said silent hill is back makes me want to jump on that train in the same way that i think resident evil in the last i guess what seven a while it's been a while but resident evil had a huge renaissance coming off of resident evil 7 and then you have the remakes and all that stuff And jumping into that and having that be kind of my, you know, full intro into Resident Evil and enjoying Resident Evil and really falling into, damn, now I actually care about this franchise.

26:32Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That's so cool. And I'm glad that we can do that for franchises that are this old. Yes. You bringing up Resident Evil, I actually think, is very apt because there was that time where Resident Evil was an iconic franchise that reinvented itself with 4 to be even better than what came before. And, you know, the way people talk about Resident Evil 4 is like there's reason for that. Like it was innovative. It was so special and different at the time, but it was also still a Resident Evil game. Like it got rid of a lot of the core things of Resident Evil, but like it redefined Resident Evil. And then you got, you had five, you had six, you had like the revelations and all that, a ton of spinoffs.

27:08It just kind of felt like the franchise was franchising. Yeah. And it, you know, like it wasn't hitting, it was just like, oh, we're getting another one of these. And then when we got biohazard seven, and that was a brand new entry, first person changing it all up. Right. And getting the remakes back to back and having those alternating years where it's just like, dude, they killed it. And they allowed a new kind of jump on point for now. Hardcore fans of resident evil. Like a new re is not going to come out that blessings not playing.

27:36Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. That would not have been the case before all of this. Right. So I do think that that moment's happening now for, for silent Hill. And it's, I'm very excited to hear what Roger has to say about this one. because i know that he was actually a new convert with silent hill 2 remake uh last year so um yeah great stuff overall not my thing i i've never been into the sound hill because i don't really like the kind of like heady supernaturally type horror stuff um and then even with this i'm like i also don't really like this type of setting horror stuff so this is like a double whammy for me of like probably not for me but um again i love that we're at a point that some of the major horror ips in video games are getting their second dues oh yeah uh i want to bring in a super chat from claw master that says fun idea for kf 2000 episode what if you made the episode as if it was made in the year 2000 with all the corny things we thought would be the future here's the thing we already got plans we got some great we got some ideas already for kfg 2000 and so don't you worry also i did see somebody earlier in chat that oh lucid dream says why don't you i lost it why don't you guys play what you want to play is essentially what they what they ask i am like that's the problem well it's i think it's a two-pronged thing right many games that we want to play there are too many games that we want to play because guess what i want to play ghost of yote like that's you guys know how much i love ghost of tsushima and so when we get the code which we can talk about right like i'm gonna play that for review but then also like video games are our job and so there is a there is a level of i am playing video games because i want to make the content and i want to be able to review the stuff which also just takes up bandwidth if i can create more time of the day trust me i'd be playing more video games and since we're on this topic yeah like it is very interesting and there's not right answers to any of this stuff like i get where the sentiments come from but i think it's important for people to to realize not just like oh well it's a business so they have to talk about seo trending things like it's not that it's more that we as a group have discussions so we can't all just play all the games that we want to play whenever we want to play them because then we're never going to be able to sit down and have a conversation about one game because if i played silksong now and i'm so fucking into it and you play it three months from now and you're talking about it i'm not going to remember the like the level of discussion that i'm having with you is going to be just below surface level you know what i mean and so it's like yeah there is something about all of us deciding we are playing this and there's access there like not every time that can happen due to schedules due to how many codes we get due to anything but like it is just best faith efforts at providing a place for us to have productive conversations about games and i think that that relies on multiple of us committing to a thing you know what i mean and committing to we're going to talk about this game on this date whether it's embargo or otherwise yes and it's also like the thing of i have a backlog as well right like i have i have silksong downloaded on my steam deck i'm going to magic on this weekend hit me up if you're going to be at magic on atlanta uh very excited about that you're going to atlanta yeah holy shit magicon is in atlanta that's crazy never been to atlanta before very excited to go um maybe you do a meetup or something i'll figure it out but i'm very excited if you're there holler at me let's talk um but i got silk song downloaded on my steam deck for the plane and like that's one that if i wasn't playing redacted and ghost of yote and a third redacted or actually no sonic racing we already reviewed that so i can throw that out there now i don't have to play that anymore um even though i enjoyed it but between that i also hit up greg for a kingdom come deliverance to code because um with game of the year season coming up be careful they're putting out those words blast dude i know and i don't want to invite no promises no promise no you said the game already you have to promise but i did look it up it is steam deck playable and so i have i have it installed on a machine but it all again comes down to time and like i know many of y 'all understand this of trying to play multiple games at the same time is really hard sometimes it's impossible i i try to juggle three i'm telling you this right now you cannot play silksong in another game so and maybe it's really hard maybe it's just me talking silksong it infects your mind bless it i for the last week haven't been able to function in the real world without thinking about dashing you know what i mean i'll i get ptsd of things hitting me my life is a bullet hell storm yeah listen i i've been reviewing ghost yote and uh sonic racing at the same time you know what i mean and a third there's a third game i threw in there i'm just gonna say i'm gonna try okay let's see how much of this game i can beat on a plane we're gonna move on to story number three but before we do want to tell you about patreon.com slash kind of funny and youtube.com slash kind of funny games where you can go and get the kind of funny membership which allows you to get shows ad-free.

Before we get to story number three, can we just for a second, shout out Steam Deck OLED. Dude, I wish I had an OLED. I wish you had an OLED too. I have the OG Steam Deck and I want an OLED so bad. I fucking love this device. Yeah. And like right now, like with Hollow Knight and just indie games abound, we have Hades next week.

36:18This week? This week. Oh my God. Next week, this week. It's just like, what an amazing device that is just such a additive experience to my life. And like right now in particular, like I just had the long flights back and forth from Paris. Like you just, you have Atlanta coming up. like god we live in such a great time that these games that are undeniably going to be game of the year contenders that we could play perfectly 90 frames per second portally i know that oled combined with hades 2 is probably an experience oh i know it's probably hdr but you know anyways

36:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:it's god we're living out here um gondor's condor right since it's blessed speaking of liza p did you play overture here's the thing i played a large chunk of overture and then on a stream i hit a wall where like i wasn't even a boss tim yeah it was just a big enemy and it was just a bad day and i rage quit that stream uh and then i ended up off stream going back and beating that enemy just out of spite but i couldn't do it on stream because i was too heated um and i haven't picked it up since but like i i want to say i'm a third of the way through it if i had to guess i'm at like the prison section to like leave spoilers out of it i think i'm toward the end of it so let me know how far that is into the dlc they're gonna be like oh you're only attending um but also i want to get back to it yeah on top of that though like the new games uh that we're talking about with silksong and hades but like even just holter games like a month ago the month before yeah ninja guy and ragebound and shinobi art of vengeance like god what an amazing year for 2d games dude bless did you ever play shinobi i tried it i dropped off pretty quickly i liked it but i was like i'm i got other things i want to play instead that's fair and then i wish it looks better on switch rogue prince of persia is the other one that oh yeah that did come out 1.0 is out now and everyone's like dude it's fucking awesome but that might be the worst time for that game to release there's just too many things like it that i'm like i will get to it i just don't know when yeah that's probably a next year situation for me uh zagirian writes in it says maybe a games cast topic but has 2025 been the best year of games showing off a variety of games thank you for all your work i i mean i've been thinking this for a little bit already of how much i love this year for the fact that it feels like in the game of the year conversation there's not like the traditional straightforward triple a action game it's all weird shit which i appreciate right it is silksong is metroidvania it is clear obscure it is death stranding 2 is dk bonanza even though i know that's like oh it's a 3d platformer dk bonanza is still weird in its own way that i fuck with i also think that just like the the to what you're saying here the variety of games that are high quality i think that definitely my gut is yes i think we might need to look a little deeper to actually say that for certain but like i do think that like we're just having such amazing experience.

39:14I feel like this is easily the year that people are kind of funny. The most people are kind of funny. All love to the nth degree, love different games. Oh, yeah. And there's a lot of crossover. The Venn diagrams are freaking insane. Like we're getting to a point that with the way that we rank our game of the year thing, it's hilarious where we might get to a point that our top fives, everyone just has similar games in a different order. And that order could dramatically change change how our top 10 actually shakes out which is like pretty damn cool because like i think in addition to all the games i just mentioned like the 2d platform was fucking popping off 2d games not just platformers but metroidvanias or action or otherwise but like this was a killer year for remakes man like oh yeah so many amazing remakes of games and like again new ip's coming out of nowhere like the expeditions and the hey here's a game that's not full retail price made by a smaller team that's amazing like yeah great stuff i'm really excited for game of the year because it's for me probably since 2021 the year that ratchet and clank won for us like i don't have a clear vision of like i can i've been able to pretty regularly guess what our game of the year is going to be this year i cannot guess what this is what i need from you all right i need you to do

40:30Blessing Adeoye Jr.:me a solid yeah all right you know how roger and mike be out here colluding they'll be out here discussing things or whatever all right me and you we gotta we gotta push for blueprints i i feel like it's me and you in these streets maybe roger did you know if he's a blueprints how much how much did you like blueprints he hasn't finished it but you will play it he's coming i mean i my november is open right like in terms of games so i have blueprints i have hollow nights oh you know what i mean tough tough decision right there but i'll try i'll I mean, Blueprints again. Okay. I need that from you.

41:04You need that from me? I need that from you. Why do you say it's a tough decision? You'd love to all of it. No, no, no. I'm just saying, like, I want to play both these games. I just have limited time. What about this? Yeah. I play Blueprints. You let me and Mike trade whenever we want to. No. That's not how that works. Absolutely not. Whenever they want to. Whenever they want to. He's just like, fuck it. I'm going to ask for the moon here. You give me a million dollars and I'll be like this. What the fuck are you talking about? I don't know if he went into, okay, listen. I feel confident blueprints getting on the list.

41:35If you and I like are so in love with it. Right. Plus, I don't know how high it might get on the list, but it'll be there.

41:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I feel like I'm just saying it's still, it's still my number one. You know what I mean? So like if it's my number one, I've got three different games fighting for the top three spots right now. It's tough. All right. It's a good year for video games. We need more puzzle poppies in this office. Let's let's have Kevin vote one year. And all of, all of his slots are just blueprints. because i think that's the only new game he's played this year exactly for the one year let's just have kevin kevin vote for the one year you know what i mean let's think about it think about it story number three concept art and gameplay information from xbox's canceled perfect dark game has been shared this is chris colian at video games chronicle new information concept art relating to xbox's canceled perfect dark reboot has been shared online internal documentation required acquired by mp first shows concept art for some of the game's locations as well as gameplay details.

42:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The documentation refers to game concepts like a relentless system and a reward system, but goes into more detail on another concept, the adrenaline system. According to the description, this would have made adrenaline a finite resource which the player could have regenerated over time. Having adrenaline would have given the player various abilities such as healing, increasing damage dealt, and reducing damage taken. Other adrenaline features would have included slowing down time to dodge bullets, better aiming precision, and increased movement speed the documentation also refers to season one implying the game may have been episodic and includes concept art for the various eco sci-fi locations set to be featured in the first season including cairo tim do you care i mean no especially not at this point yeah like this the game's not happening it felt there was that weird oh it almost had a second chance no it didn't so yeah it's just fucking sad that like games this big can be canceled and yeah we're always going to hear about what could have been but i also don't have faith like i don't i never really had faith that perfect arc was going to be the one yeah i wanted it to be i love the concept of it like all the people working on the game it's like yeah this is this is kind of what i would want from a perfect arc then seeing the gameplay of it and flash forward to now it's like all right yeah yeah the gameplay like the gameplay gave me faith in the sense that i like the direction of it even though the gameplay didn't look the gameplay looks so directed slash like i know it's a vertical slice and so of course it's gonna look directed but something something about this didn't strike me as like real i kind of want to like i felt like if you walk two inches to the left you just fucking you know fall through and you see a grid like like unreal engine shit um but i don't know i like an immersive sim i like a deus x type game you know what i mean so like if you give me a game that looks like it lets me choose my own path hack into things like i was cyberpunk is another one that i fucking love right and this gave me hints of that type of gameplay so i was all in for that the thing that jumps out at me here is the seasonal stuff which i find it hard to believe that they would have done like an episodic thing with this unless it is like an episodic dlc release like you get the full game and then there's a season one of dlc but even that strikes me as weird for this type of video game i don't know i'm very fascinated like i i guess if i had any requests it would be for some kind of no clip slash like internal documentary of what happened here slash what was this going to be and where did it go wrong um but outside of that yeah like i read through this and i'm like oh interesting that doesn't give me faith like yeah it starts to become more clear of maybe why this this this could have got canceled here story number four video games europe and the e g df launch pixels to policy campaign this is vic hood at games industry.biz video games europe and the european games developer federation have launched the pixels to policy campaign which aims to explain the industry to people who aren't familiar with video games announced on september 22nd video games europe and the e g df which both represent the european video games industry describe the campaign as a comprehensive showcase of the economy, the jobs, the games, and the vast consumer choices provided by Europe's creative and digital trailblazing video game sector.

45:48Blessing Adeoye Jr.:The Pixels the Policy campaign hopes to explain the industry to those who are unfamiliar with video games, with a particular emphasis on ensuring Europe's policymakers are well informed about the industry. The campaign's website, which is formatted like a pixelated video game, offers four levels, each offering information, stats, video explainers, and more on a specific aspect of the industry. Level 1 tackles the industry and the players and the economy. Level 2 focuses on best-in-class minor protection and parental guidance. Level 3 explains Europe's video games landscape. And Level 4 covers player choices and in-game activities.

46:23Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Quote, it can be difficult to explain the multifaceted nature of video games in the sector as a whole, especially to people who may not have picked up a pad or turned on a PC or console to experience the many joys and benefits of video game play said video games europe's ceo simon little quote we hope that this campaign will enlighten inform and inspire end quote quote game development is extremely exciting and complex and we are excited to share how we work and how we deliver the varied high quality creative content to millions of players around the world added egdf managing director jari pekka kaleva cool yeah i mean you know it's I don't know how helpful this is actually going to be, but it's better than nothing because we need these people to be educated on this.

47:10Because they're the ones making the decisions that affect so much of the normally negative, but potentially positive changes that we need to see for video games to continue to thrive. So that's cool.

47:22Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah, I like seeing this coming off of the story last week of video game executives being called to talk to Congress about the industry coming off of the Charlie Kirk stuff, right? I get so worried when I think about the executives and the people that we have within video games a lot of them adults a lot of them not adults you know what I mean a lot of them I look at and I'm like you know respect to Gabe Newell I think Gabe Newell is actually like yeah some cool shit going on but also I'm like do I want him to talk to congress about what the video game industry needs does he show up though you know does he I think he has to show up I don't I don't know if he has to show up.

48:01Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I mean, I would assume so. I don't know. I guess he doesn't show up. But either way, right? Like, we need the most competent people possible talking to people in power about what this stuff entails. Because I see the clips of people talking to Congress where no... Oh. Okay, Greg just entered the scene with Pac-Man World... Ramen. Pac-Man World Repack 2 packages. But perfect timing. Oh, cool. We're just talking about Congress, Greg. Oh, yeah, it is ramen. Nice. I think I just figured out my lunch. Cool. Oh, and the game. And the game, yeah. Hell yeah. Oh, also, Jet confirms that it's an invitation, not a subpoena.

48:49Oh, okay. So he doesn't have to show up.

Read the full transcript

48:50Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Okay, he doesn't have to show up. But I would hope he does. I would hope the right thing would show up. He is the only person. You can't be kind of hot talking shit about my boy Gabe here. I don't know, Blast. But also he's the only CEO or whatever that's actually from a video game company. Well, like the other ones are Twitch and Discord. But it's Twitch and Discord. But those aren't – like those are video game adjacent, but those aren't inherently video games. That's fair. That's more about online communities and them trying to get to the bottom of where is all of this toxic kind of aggression coming from on the internet?

49:26Should we call the head of X? No? Okay.

49:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yeah you know but i think even beyond that right because you're right that i i think the scenario of the those execs talking to congress is a little bit separate from what's going on here but there will be a future and like we've seen it before and i think we'll continue to see it where actual video game people are going to need to testify and talk about video games to people in government who don't know shit who like really don't understand how any of this works and they will make assumptions and they'll uh like use bad faith arguments against this shit you need people to speak authentically and with like clear information of hey this is how this works that way we don't have bad policies being passed down into video games that makes shit makes shit worse for everybody here um so that's why i really like this story number five uh this is going to be required reading for you uh this is a longer article written by rebecca valentine at ign nintendo customer support concern following outsourcing decision ahead of switch to his first holiday season i got the first few paragraphs here from rebecca valentine about this Nintendo of America has made the decision to outsource its customer support services, resulting in hundreds of contractors losing their jobs amid concerns Nintendo's customer support will suffer as the Nintendo Switch 2 enters its first holiday season.

50:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:iJan has spoken to multiple sources impacted by the decision who spoke to us on condition of anonymity due to fear of reprisal. All of them painted a picture of a formally rigorous structure for training and maintaining customer support. I don't know why the word customer has beaten my ass today. customer support services in the u.s that was suffering significantly due to language barriers poor communication and nintendo's overall decision making on how to handle the transition from u.s-based support to outsource support from south america the article then goes on to detail estimates of up to 200 workers being impacted worries about the job environment they're being sent into and a refute from nintendo again rebecca valentine does the good work she's an incredible incredible uh journalists at ign uh go read the full article if you want all the information uh about that um but tim that's big it is that's big big news it is but if i wanted something smaller say the tiniest news i need to know about where would i go you go to our last story the we news channel where we cover all the small news items that you need to know about it's the easiest way to cook this this is like can i just pour water in this and then put in the microwave what's the situation here yeah yeah that's how you make these dick seriously i get you could also heat up the water because i get the official ramen you know where i gotta boil the water in a pot yeah you know i'm not out here just making the steak ramen but shout out to pac-man i guess yeah thanks pac-man infamously my best friend curran uh at one of our first sleepovers at my house in like seventh grade uh we were making ramen and he took it and he put it in the microwave and he turned the microwave on he didn't put water in it oh my god my microwave exploded fucking exploded so you know it's incredible yeah that's good stuff uh we news for you story number six from vgc boss rush fps unyilder is coming to pc next week courtesy of manga publisher shueisha's video game arm shueisha games developed by singapore based true world studios unyilder is a roguelite first person shooter which has the player taking on a series of 1v1 boss battles uh in a post-apocalyptic wasteland like dark kind of cool art style yeah yeah and i kind of want to see more of the gameplay 40 plus bosses what the trailer says what the fuck stylish that looks different than i expected yeah it's a straight up first person shooter it kind of reminds me of the game that andy was super into oh chat you're gonna know the one it's like i think it's called rogue something and i feel like one of y 'all played this at an event it might have been andy who played because i remember us showing gameplay of this oh really from an event yeah oh then this looks familiar robo quest is the game i'm thinking of uh um but maybe andy played it either way looks cool uh skate has reported having two million players on its first day which includes cameron kennedy who's having fun with it dat funk have joined up with fortnite to bring you the dat funk experience which kicks off in game on September 27th at 11 a.m.

53:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Pacific time. Barrett, was it you that added the Cameron Kennedy part? I saw your interaction on Blue Sky. Thank you so much for adding that because I meant to add it and I forgot it. That's so fucking funny. Fortnite might be one of the like biggest fucking Bane Switch troll jobs of all time. The amount of times like something is being teased and announced, everyone's like, oh my God. And then it's like, oh, they're coming to Fortnite. It's like Daft Punk. There was like a moment where people were like, are they back, baby? and i know you don't care because you're uncultured but uh i'm like holy shit it's like oh no there's coming to fortnite like fuck my life that's how it is that's how it was when smash was doing its thing you know i mean like we'll get persona trailer and then it turned into a smash thing but i love smash and so every time i'm like fuck yeah yeah but also it's like what's the persona yeah fortnite is like is the bad version of that happening zelda 2 the adventures of link ost is up on nintendo music and then finally hey that one of the best things about one of the least good Zelda games.

54:41I'm not even going to say bad. I don't think it's bad. And I think, again, Zelda in review part one, you can watch from five years ago. I talk about how I think Zelda 2 was important for Zelda making its transition into 3D gameplay. But the soundtrack for Zelda 2? Amazing. The temple theme that you know from Smash Bros. Oh, yes. That comes from Zelda 2. Yes. The battle theme in that game does not get used enough. I don't know why it never came back. It's so fucking good. I digress.

55:07Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. when i when i played zelda 2 it was after i'd played smash brawl and so once i heard that theme i was like yo what the fuck like one of the goaded themes is from this game that's crazy and then finally yeah arc raiders server slam open test is set for october 17th through the 19th um that's it for we news and while we're here shouting out pac-man pac-man world repack 2 uh for this package also want to shout out insert coin for sending me this jacket hell yeah i got a doom slayer jacket on uh of course i fuck with doom heavy uh and shout out to insert coin for yeah just sending this to the office it's cool very cool shots insert coin in general like nerd outfits check out insert coin.co you like nerd outfits yes but nerd outfits that look good yeah uh let's hop into some more super chats for you before we get out of here uh matt rollo says d snyder talked to congress and rocked it hell yeah love to hear that um ultra hyper jdub says when is the next time blessing and gary widow will be on a show together it's my favorite combo no disrespect to all other combos i like them all but those two are my favorite thank you so much i i like the the greg and gary combo i i appreciate people like me and me and gary but there's something special for me listen as a listener listening to greg and gary greg and gary yep gary and to like fuck with gary i don't think any of us are willing to fuck with gary the same way i think my thing is like i at the beginning of an episode i start off kind of scared of gary exactly and then i quickly ease in and i'm like i fuck with this guy yeah gary is great i fuck with him so hard yeah but it is one of those things where it's just like he he has that type of presence where his vibe of the day leads the conversation yes you just gotta kind of go with the flow there and greg's the only person willing to be like fuck you and it's like you know what for better or worse i don't know but that's the truth um future bot says how should we hit you up for an atl uh meetup um blue sky dms if you don't have blue sky insta dms but insta is weird about organizing my dms where sometimes you make it into my hidden messages and then sometimes you're in my hidden hidden messages there's like two layers of hell in my in my dms on insta um and so i don't know just do your best your best i don't have an official answer i would say email me but like my emails get backed up i don't know there's a lot of press releases in there uh and then napoleon blown apart says hope everyone has a good week thank you thank you that's a great name uh terry huffman says so what would be the new price of the next gen i mean it's way too early to say but like i I think it's equally likely that next gen consoles are$600 and$1 ,000.

57:58Like, I really just feel like that's just where we're at with all of this. They'll be able to justify it however they want. Will it work for them? We'll have to wait and see. But I think that so much is going to happen in the next couple years by the time we get to these things launching. Obviously, they want them to come in cheaper so that they can actually sell them so that they can then sell software. but i very much see more than ever the next generation feeling like a cross generation thing which we've already seen now i think two generations in a row it's only getting progressively more and more i do think by the time the ps6 comes out it being a thousand dollars would not surprise me whatsoever god but still supporting the ps5 you know oh yeah so just being like hey if you want all the the giga rays or whatever they have next time i don't know the

58:44Blessing Adeoye Jr.:new feature yeah um i feel like xbox is going to be skewed up there's going to be there's going to be i there's gonna be hella skews i i think that's how i see it right like i'm surprised i guess not surprised because there's been reports about and stuff but the streaming box that we always talk about on the xbox side never actually came out as an official skew at least not yet but i feel like for the next gen of xbox when we're talking about 600 of a thousand dollars if you can have a streaming box that comes out at a hundred dollars like i think that's the move to go to especially as you're making a transition to like more pc based stuff yeah um that is it for super chats uh let's hop into kindoffunny.com slash you're wrong where you write in let us know what we got wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it for those watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe we only have one here from eric who writes and says while not entirely wrong here's more insight into mtg's outlook on spider-man The community is largely divided on MTG's production generally, and the Spider-Man set arrives as a perfect culmination of that.

59:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Few people dislike the crossovers entirely, and few crossover fans stick around, but a lot of people are in the middle. Spider-Man in particular doesn't have many, quote, good cards, which upsets some of those people. It also follows a set that is not a crossover and lacks compelling flavor, colloquially known as a Hats set, which upsets even more fans. While the reasons are different, the general consensus is that Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, by extension, only cares about sales and not about the game. There you go. Some context for you there. That's it for You're Wrong. And that's it for this episode of Kind of Funny Games Daily.
