0:08Chris Kerr:Today's gaming news stories include Xbox tests ad-supported game streaming, the Avatar fighting game gets delayed for Xbox the night before release, and a game update that'll break Greg's heart. All this and more because this is Kind of Funny Games Daily.

0:28Chris Kerr:yo what's up welcome to kind of funny games daily for thursday july 23rd 2026 i'm your host blessing at aoa junior joining me is the legend greg miller hello everybody why is it always my heart that has to get broken you know what i mean it's always greg's heart you have to go for tim

0:43Blessing Adeoye Jr.:once in a while also don't you get all the games announced don't you get a million ghostbusters games in all different ways. Here's a VR one. Here's a multiplayer one. Here's a new Ghostbusters movie, 30 years past his prime. Here's a Ghostbusters movie with none of the Ghostbusters in it. Here's a Ghostbusters toy. That movie doesn't exist. Yeah. What was that one called? The Ghostbusters movie with no Ghostbusters. They've been in both. They won't let the guys go. Bill Murray has to be in them. They won't let them go. I don't agree with this decision. Even in the mid-2010s one? Oh! We don't talk about 2016.

1:162016 we're talking about 2016 I can't say I've never gone to the mat for 2016 dude you know what I mean preaching to the choir it's not a good movie it has nothing to do with the fact that it's an all female cast that's not my problem no no no no no no I think they should give it another try dude again just make it good this time man they should have done it and just why are we like aping the original like it was just a weird way to do this of like okay cool we're doing an all female an all new cast not in the same timeline awesome throw everything out throw everything out the window nothing should be sacred they don't need to drive the hearse they don't need that you know what i mean like it definitely should be in new york what the fuck are we doing why are you remaking it but saying it's where's where's supposed to and they were in this they were in that you know i've never seen it go they were i know i know they were in that they they were in that yeah oh i didn't know that okay where does

2:08Blessing Adeoye Jr.:it usually take place can i guess what is it it's it's in new york yeah oh okay but you don't want it to take place in new york when they were like hey we're doing a brand new ghostbusters that has nothing to do with the old stuff yeah new cast all females like this sounds like a really radical like i might when i knew they were where you make ghostbusters and i dreaded it for years and so when they announced that i was like this is honestly our best case scenario of like we're doing something totally different and then it was like actually we're just taking different parts and shoving them in we're taking all these square pegs and trying to put them in several holes Give me your 30 second pitch for a brand new Ghostbusters.

2:44Ghostbusters. Wow. But are you going to say that doesn't have anything to do with the other thing? Correct. Yeah, but it needs a brand new cast. Kind of a reboot. If we were rebooting Ghostbusters, you shouldn't do it, but you need the name of it, I would make it a horror movie. Oh. Like why? I mean, if we're like, let's jump genres here for like we need to do like. comedies don't and i i know i'm sounding like a hollywood exec right now comedies don't work the same way they used to i feel like in theaters anymore right and in the new landscape horror movies do so go make a like a really scary ghostbusters where yeah it's kind of just the

3:17Blessing Adeoye Jr.:name or whatever right you know it doesn't need to be this i'm very i'm extremely widow's bay pilled right now yeah but i think for me as somebody who's not watched ghostbusters so i could be way off but like i feel like that could totally work with the balance of comedy and horror they do in that show oh yeah there's something there i would ditch most of the comedy i would I would make it straight up serious. Like, make a modern day poltergeist. You know what I mean? If something like that. That's fun. Yeah. All right, cool. Let's make it happen. Who would you cast? No, I mean, now we got Ghostbusters.

3:43We're back. Oh, we're back. We got an animated show next year. What did the last Ghostbusters movie get on in reviews? I don't know if you know this. What did I do and give it? Okay. I don't know if you know this. Reviewers don't know shit about shit. All right. The audience scores immaculate when it was on Netflix and all that stuff. Top five movie every time. Really? What's the name of that movie? Ghostbusters Afterlife? Yeah, Ghostbusters Afterlife.

4:04Chris Kerr:I'm curious on what the audience score is for that one. I'd love to know. What's the Metacritic in Ghostbusters Afterlife, too? I'm looking up Rotten Tomatoes, because that's what people use for movies. Okay. So, yeah, the Ghostbusters, Afterlife, Rotten Tomatoes. So, it has a 63 on the tomato meter, which isn't great. What do you mean that's not rotten? I guess, but, like, only 63 % of critics liked it. Yeah, I mean, a lot of highfalutin idiots. There's a lot of people that don't like it, though. They want to sniff their own parts.

4:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I will say popcorn meter, 94%. So, that is actually very impressive. thank you all right you win you did it the audience loved the movie sure did let's move on don't look at the chat what's the chat don't worry about the show was this is your fault did you like cause a movement for people to rate this highly on ron or something um of course ever since 2026 happened we've moved past housekeeping until today because india cortez slid in to the kftd doc apparently he can't well he tried okay i commend him because he tried to make a new doc like but when i got in i saw a mysterious stock that was already for today's kftd and i'm like who did that and i clicked into it and i saw andy like andy's icon in the top right thing i'm like oh andy's in here and he's putting like a housekeeping in there but i'll i then looked at the rest of the doc and i'm like oh this isn't a new template though like you just copied yesterday's doc i'm not gonna delete all the shit from yesterday love working here i love the small business nature of it i love but it's really always crazy how little we all know about each other's jobs.

5:30Yeah. Like what you're the other day, Nick and I had Nick, Tim and I had to have a real meeting, you know, a founder's meeting. And so he's like, we're trying to find the time to work. And Nick was like, well, Greg, like I'm looking at the schedule and you're free. And what is this? Get this off. We don't even see this. Wait, what was I looking at? Oh, this is for you. Go to the good one. Oh, afterlife. Wasn't the last one. Empire was the last one. Still an 81 of the popcorn meter. That's so funny. 81 of the popcorn. That's rotten. That's a rotten. Anyways, And Nick was like, yeah, you know, I see you're free at 930, but will you be busy prepping games daily?

6:03And I was like, no, Nick, I'll be fine. I'm like, I'm fine. I haven't prepped games daily in a good three years, but it's fine. Oh, my God.

6:11Blessing Adeoye Jr.:But, yeah, shout out Andy, of course. Yeah, tried. Made a copy of yesterday's doc, and I had to be like, no, I'm making a new doc because I need it fresh. But he did add in some housekeeping.

6:22Chris Kerr:He says a winner has been selected. the prize and he's going to draw you in eight bit as your favorite video game character and get you added to the games cast intro for the month unfortunately that winner hasn't replied to the email so please reply look for an email from joey at kind of funny.com so one of y 'all who supported

8:26Chris Kerr:More than 1 ,800 games in the Xbox Store support cloud game streaming. Though it should be noted, the Xbox Insider's ad test experience does not offer players access to all available games, just those titles the user already owns or that are free to play. during the test players will see a two a two minute block of multiple ads before joining the cloud streaming queue to play their selected game i'm gonna pause there and say just let me

8:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:join the queue while i'm watching the ad you know what i mean like there's a queue yeah yeah isn't that a point of a queue isn't that yeah like let's cut down on time i'm gonna watch the

8:59Chris Kerr:ad and then wait more after that that's messed up uh back to the article variety has confirmed the ads will be from globally recognizable brands and specific to the markets that xbox insiders are viewing them within. Players will then have a one-hour gameplay session that's uninterrupted by ad breaks but includes countdown warnings. If at the end of the session a player wants to continue, they can select to watch a new block of ads before resuming gameplay. As Xbox Cloud Gaming is currently not available without a Game Pass subscription, the ad test experience will allow Xbox insiders who do not have Game Pass to stream their already owned games.

9:36Chris Kerr:Through the ad-supported experience, if users don't have a console and don't have a Game Pass subscription, they can play their library games or Xbox Store's free-to-play games on cloud streaming via handheld PC or the Xbox app on TV. Additionally, Xbox laid out these five ways it plans to approach ad-supported services across Xbox moving forward. One, we start with the player. Ads should create value. Two, we do not interrupt the flow of gameplay. Three, we hold ads to the same quality bar as our content. Four, we're clear about what's advertising. And five, we make sure ads fit what players expect on each platform.

10:13Greg, you gonna hop into some ad-supported streaming? No, I'm good. No? No, I mean, I could stream without it, right? Because I'm an Xbox Game Pass member. But you can save some money now. I could. Yeah. You don't wanna save some money?

10:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You don't wanna pay$23? You wanna pay the$23 a month? I mean, to not use that as well. To not stream those games It's the exact same way. Last time I used streaming was just to jump in to buy a Supergirl skin. Yeah, I'm okay. What does this do for you? Does this do anything? Nothing. You know, absolutely nothing. And I imagine to most people watching this, this does absolutely nothing. And I imagine to most people who understand the hoops you'd have to jump through to do this, this means nothing. Yeah, I feel like this is such a waste of resources in terms of I get the idea of it, right? I have a Polygon article pulled up from June 10th, 2026.

11:04Xbox CEO says console business models will never be the same again. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has warned that the current shortages and high prices of computer memory will result in quote radically different business models for game consoles and that these will come into effect as soon as this year. I get it. I understand the position Xbox is in. I understand Asha coming in and trying to make money out of a thing that is not sustainable. I understand they need to chase different things in different this ain't it you are taking time I think and resources and investing and trying to chase dollars in a market here that I just don't believe will do you think there's not a market for the cloud gaming aspect for it or do you think it's the ad part no the ad part is not even my issue it is and it isn't but it's like we're in such a weird place where we've known forever that everything is an Xbox.

11:59We've known that. You've known that. You watch or listen to the show. You're dialed in. Mainstream doesn't know that. And this isn't going to be enough to sell them and convince them and make them understand that. And I honestly think that if anything, when you're chasing this cloud market and chasing this, I've heard from multiple people that the real reason you're getting into cloud and trying to push for phones is the fact of the matter that India has billions of people who are on their phone but they're not using consoles and i'm obviously just highfalutin with a number i don't know if the numbers actually are millions will say that have phones but don't have consoles right so like you want to try to infiltrate that market in the same way we're talking about how popular you know smartphones are in japan how xbox consoles have never really found a foothold there like you're trying to meet a market somewhere that i and i understand that i just don't think that like the hoops it would take to jump through to make this work of okay now going to be an xbox insider okay now go do this and granted they're trying it out they're participating and being the guinea pigs in this so you could do a rollout eventually i just think that by the time you would get to a global rollout market rollout of this in an easy to digest fashion it'll never be easy enough to digest this will never be easy enough that people will be like oh i get this i understand how to jump into this yeah i think as soon as you're like we gotta go read a faq you gotta go like

13:19Blessing Adeoye Jr.:nobody's gonna do that they're just not gonna do that i think my counterpoint to it because i i agree with everything you're saying especially when it comes to like if you want to be an xbox insider to try this right or even i think in the alternate reality to where the play xbox anywhere thing worked and had more of an impact on in terms of like how that marketing sat with people and actually and people actually being actionable on oh i'm going to play this game on my tv or whatever this i think would be such a step forward on the business aspect of it yeah um yeah i the place where i where i the place that the thing that sticks out to me as i'm reading through this is the idea of hey you can play your free-to-play games essentially for free without a console here like through ads if you have just a smart tv this allows you to play call of duty war zone or whatever free-to-play game that you own yeah um or like a free-to-play game free-to-play game that maybe you didn't own before right that now you have access to without a box without a console without a pc i can just play that now yeah i think that's a that could potentially be a big win but potentially he's doing a lot of heavy carrying as far as what we're talking about and what you're chasing with the market because what you mentioned earlier is so true as far as why they're doing something like this we're they're pushing up against the ceiling of the amount of people that want to actually buy a console especially xbox right like i don't think they expect to sell tens or hundreds of more millions of Xbox consoles generation after generation.

14:45Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I think they're starting to see that, the critical mass of, okay, yeah, we know what an Xbox console is going to do in terms of numbers. We need to expand out how we're selling games to people and giving access to games to people. And to your point, like you're talking about India, you're talking about different countries in Asia, but also just extend that out to the world. Everybody has a phone. Everybody has a phone. So many people have a TV. A lot of those TVs are smart TVs. so many people have a screen that they have access to and so if they don't have an xbox console if they don't have a strong pc cloud can get them there um and ad supported free game streaming is a way to get it's just an additional avenue to get those people into playing your games will it work i the it's the convoluted aspect of it that makes this tough to say so yes and i also don't want to overlook the fact that as our hobby continues to get more and more expensive there are gamers of all ages i was going to say young but gamers of all ages who can't afford to get in and do whatever so giving them a free avenue they are going to be the ones who jump through i'm not saying this is for nobody i'm not going to say no one's going to use this i think even what we're talking about right now before i really jump into what you were saying right xbox i don't know if it's the titanic but it is a ship that is sinking like they and they've admitted as much right and so you are trying to figure out how to get fucking water out of the bow right now and i feel like they're running up with this and it's literally a bucket and it's like guys we need fucking pumps right now we don't need buckets right now like this isn't going to become a business model that is thriving to such a degree again how much are they charging for ads this that the other i'm sure it's a nice chunk of change and for maybe a nice chunk of change for an Xbox sure maybe not definitely not for a Microsoft right unless maybe Microsoft's going to be doing ad deals where it's like well you're included in whatever the fuck Microsoft ads are going wherever they're going and you're also getting Xbox you know what I mean of like banner ads on Windows I don't know if that's a thing whatever I'm more to this also makes me angry of like jumping off of what you're saying we already were doing this we already were doing every screen as an Xbox and you fucking ran Phil and Sarah out because of it you know what i mean and everybody hates it and this that and the other and that's it that's not like and then you're here committing to consoles as the future and committing to helix and doing all this stuff yeah but then also now again again like this is the whole problem with the asha regime so far is the double speak exclusives matter we're gonna have exclusives we want to be the biggest publisher in games entertainment no that's those are against to each other.

17:28Consoles are our future and consoles matter. We also want a strong cloud that you can get for free. It's like I don't believe in you supporting this and getting this out because you just had the message. Everything is an Xbox. Download the fucking thing. We're back to an argument. I've said so many times in this show. Why didn't you support that message and make it easy? Cloud streaming is now free or whatever it is. Let's make it simple of going to xbox.com slash play and you then boom You go in, you have to make your little account And then you're into the Xbox ecosystem Not where I can't even explain it To my friends in Missouri I'm like, oh your kid wants to play Fortnite?

18:06Fuck, well you gotta get Game Pass Okay, we'll go buy Game Pass We gotta make an email address, but then you do this But you don't have a console, but you can do this

18:12Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It strikes me as, you know I mentioned this, I've referenced this a million times When we were talking about cloud streaming But back in like 20, I want to say 2012 Or something like that, maybe 2013 I remember logging onto Facebook one time and there was a Gaikai streaming thing that was like you can play games on Facebook and I was like what the fuck is that and so like I opened the it was like a Facebook app I go to go to the Facebook app and it was it was like do you want to play Saints Row 3 I'm like no way and I started playing Saints Row 3 on my browser and for me I was like this is the future yeah this is I can't believe I'm playing Saints Row 3 on my browser and I feel like I've heard that I that is such a incredible case scenario that I've heard nobody else talk about because then Gaikai went on to get acquired by PlayStation turned into PlayStation Now and all this shit right but even still I was doing such a cool thing and like I think it was so specific that it just couldn't take off because how do you explain that to people like you can go on Facebook right now and do this thing and you can play these AAA games it's not gonna run well like it's gonna be all like excuse me the you know latency is gonna be bad all this shit I that's kind of how I view this where I'm like i i'm not mad at this actually like i look at this and i'm like sure ads suck but as a free offering of hey you can play this thing through cloud and that opens up all the ways you play and you just have to watch two minutes of a thing yeah i think the core idea of that is actually kind of cool and kind of promising i just don't think to your point it's easy enough to it's hard to explain to your friend in missouri to be like yo you could do you could do it this way because it's like why would i do it this way yeah you know it's hard to find that specific use case to make this worthwhile and it's that thing we keep talking about in in you know okay well our market of video games is mature right so like this seems like such a we're trying to solve a problem that i think we know the answer to and it's like the majority of people who this is the usual thing of a circana data or you know of like there are however many billion gamers but how many are just playing a well you know just playing candy crush or whatever phone app they are and the fact that those people do not want to come play 007 First Light.

20:17They just don't. That's not something they want to do. Our hobby is not only a huge investment of your money, it's a huge investment of your time. And so you can do this and think you're going to be able to capture these people who are on their phones all the time, but in reality, no, you can't because that's not what they want. You have to try to meet them, which is why you see so many shitty match-three mobile games out there. A fucking... It keeps getting shared on all my fucking subreddits, but this goddamn DC mobile fighting game where in the, everybody quote to me, be like your competition is making, you know, Spider-Man on with insomniac Marvel cosmic invasion, uh, token fighting souls in DC still chasing the phone people.

20:58And it's like, yeah, like that's how they see this breaking down. If they don't want, they want to invest that way. And it's so annoying and frustrating in these markets. They it's the Venn diagram is so far from being a circle. It's like a sliver.

21:10Blessing Adeoye Jr.:You can let me know if I'm off about this. I think another thing for me with this article or with this initiative, I think I also don't get that upset with it because I don't see this as them being like, this is our grand plan. I see this as something that was probably already in the works during Phil and Sarah. I see this as just another blog post of, hey, here's a feature that we're working on in testing. And I think for them, to the Titanic comparison, it's like, sure, this isn't the tape that you're going to put over the hole to save the ship. But it's you experimenting And going alright what is that tape Eventually going to be Every time they experiment they take the scientists out back And shoot them in six months You have to experiment though You can't just sit on your hands and go Alright well we're going to try nothing But here's my thing We talked about this yesterday on one of the shows It's a bet and it's gambling This is a bad bet This is a bad gamble And I know I'm not trying to beat the drum Nor do I think we need to be in mourning for six months or something and have all the mirrors covered but like we are in the shadow of these horrendous layoffs also still living waiting for the other shoe to drop oh yeah and we're told that these layoffs are because of bad xbox bets and bets on game pass and bets on xbox play anywhere and so to come out here and say this is like i don't believe this is going to get you not only do i not believe i know this will not get you the return on investment you want i know this will not solve your problem i agree it's been in development forever and here it's like why make a blog post at all why even keep doing this why keep wasting resources i i view it in the same way that like playstation does cloud shit right like nintendo has done cloud shit before and like of course we could talk about the success or unsuccess of the playstation part of it we could talk about like how has nintendo's cloud shit done but everybody's testing cloud stuff to some extent i believe in none of it damn near like i look at all of it i'm like i don't want to really want to interact with with any of it i don't look at this as that big of a thing i think i don't think it's a big thing either i'm not i'm not like mad about it it's just like i've seen you fail over and over again xbox this is going to fail like this is not going to be an actual thing we need to worry about that you need to worry about you have bigger fish to fry than two minutes of ads and doing yeah it's just a blog post we're the ones making a bigger deal about it, yada, yada, yada.

23:28But it's just like, you're like, you got to try. You just tried. You just tried in a way that I think was actually exciting and could have been really, really cool if Microsoft would have gotten behind it. They didn't. Microsoft's not going to be behind this. You're not going to make enough money or have enough users to do this. Whatever you sold the initial, you know, ads here for, you're going to sell the next batch for even less because it'll be fewer people seeing them, which isn't a hundred percent true because this is insiders. maybe this again never gets out of the insiders maybe they do and they are like yeah this is terrible adoption nobody did it yeah exactly nobody used it whatever but well let's talk about

24:03Chris Kerr:more news from xbox maybe more more news from the avatar legends team story number two the xbox series x slash s version of avatar legends the fighting game has been delayed just hours before release this is chris scolian at video games chronicle the xbox version of avatar legends has been delayed just hours before it was set to release the game which is published by pm studios and the recently formed paramount games and is developed by gameplay group international was set to release today at 7 a.m pacific time on ps5 xbox series x and pc with switch and switch 2 versions coming in the future um i'm just gonna jump to their twitter announcement because they posted a statement on twitter talking about everything here the official launch of avatar legends the fighting game is almost here and this is from the gameplay group international almost here almost here being like 13 hours away almost right now uh and we can't wait for players and fans around the world to jump in and start playing the statement reads as we approach launch we want to update our community on a few platform specific details for nintendo switch players the nintendo switch version will be available as the standard edition only additionally cross play with other platforms and language localization beyond English will not be available.

25:15Chris Kerr:We are committed to bringing these features along with upgrading to Deluxe Edition to players as soon as possible and will keep you updated on our timeline in progress. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We're excited to get everyone into the fight as soon as possible.

25:51Chris Kerr:Tune in here for updates as we have them. That is crazy.

25:58Blessing Adeoye Jr.:I would be so pissed if I was an Xbox player and I'm like, all right, Avatar Legends, can't wait for it. I love Avatar. I love fighting games. The game was originally going to come out July 2nd, but it got delayed. So it's fine. Whatever. It's finally here. I'm going to play it and then watch the Avatar movie that's coming out in like a day. Okay. I'm an Avatar movie that everybody's been waiting so long for that was supposed to come out in theaters that for some reason they're like, we're actually just going to put it on streaming. It's coming out this weekend. It's going to be a big Avatar weekend.

26:24Yeah.

26:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And now I can't play this shit on my Xbox until September. Yeah. I thought I was going to play this 10 hours ago. Now I can't play this shit. Greg, how crazy is this? it's bewildering yeah it's not only the xbox part but then yeah hey also we're switch people yo it's just standard yeah deluxe will come eventually this is not a uh vote of confidence in the game or the development or the pipeline or the publishing you know what i mean of like what the fuck like this game is the equivalent to me of like you imagine being a teacher at a high school and one of your students has so much promise one of your students you see the way you hear the way they talk you hear the amount of intellect that they could have the amount of the amount of potential that they show yeah but that student refuses to study they refuse to do the work and then you start seeing them hang out with the wrong people oh you hate to see the and it's like why are you hanging out with that guy yeah that guy got outed in 2020 as being a piece of shit why are you hanging out with that oh right yeah yeah i was on a i was on a uh off the record yeah well that's right I was on a assignment out there event other games journalists there and so I know nothing about this game as you know and somebody was like oh yeah yeah I'm excited for that avatar and like boom I wish I could be but that guy works on it and he's a dirt bag and this that and the other and I was like what are you guys talking about like I had no idea this stuff it's just a bunch of like there's that I think the delay did this no favors because now this is bumping up against Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls it has a beta this weekend as well and I think that's going to overshadow that a lot go back to GDC when we played this game during the mix stream i was over the moon about this game right like and the reviews are out i've played a little bit of this game already in like the in the review copy this game has so much promise like when i'm in the gameplay and i'm in the fights it's really fun the visuals the animation looks really good um for a small team working on a fighting game i think this this should have been a like a story of wow the little guy did it the little guy made a licensed avatar game the first good avatar game the avatar has such a strong fan base and they made arguably the first great avatar game and now you just have all this stuff working against it i would love to know what the fuck is going on in the back end issue Why can't they do the deluxe edition for switch people?

Read the full transcript

28:51And then, yeah, what is, what has been triggered in tripped? And like, you should have had this ironed out so easily. Like cert, all these games go through cert. Yeah. And when you get rejected, they tell you why, and you have to read, you know, read, did it make it through cert? And then they found some debilitating, horrible thing.

29:14Chris Kerr:I don't know. My, my question also is,

29:16Blessing Adeoye Jr.:was the chat, i'm trying to look it up as we're talking was the switch version also coming out today or was that something that's coming out later like are we telling switch users in real time got you that they're not getting the deluxe or what's the what's the deal with that um let me know but yeah like i wonder what feature it must be like a game breaking bug that might have been found during review or something but that's specific to xbox maybe it's a series s thing i'm looking over here yeah maybe yeah but even then right we would have known yeah that's crazy the switch one version is out today no word on switch two okay blanket fort says maybe jeff jarrett was in part tarja the xbox version is this one of these activision games is activision publishing no no no i think they're just making a joke okay this is paramount games okay in this oh they're good feather in their cap they just made a whole bunch of announcements and changes yeah so yeah that's such a weird story i hope long term they're able to find success with the game of course you know like this is again, going back to GDC, when I was talking to one of the dudes on the team, everything they were talking about sounded so inspiring to me.

30:20Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Hey, we're a small team. We're able to partner. We're founded under Paramount Games. I don't think they said that at the time because Paramount Games was announced later. But they're saying all these things about their size and their studio ethos, and they reminded me a lot of Team Asobi as far as being a small, efficient team that knows what they're doing and can put out games at a pretty decent pace. And so I was looking forward to all right avatar legends this year in two to three years what's your next game right can you continue to evolve and get and get better and better at this real quick i said i i said activision i'm in acclaim thank you for that and then blanket forward says yeah i was making a joke when jeff jarrett's game was delayed the day before release that was that wrestle rpg remember which if you remember yeah that happened we we had to be here with the devs we were doing their launch celebration stream jeff jarrett was here it's when he hit me with the guitar and in the other room the devs were coming to deal with like we're gonna have to delay this game oh my god they were on the phone call with all the people i forget what their problem was why it had to get pushed or whatever but they're like fuck we have to delay our game even though we're here at the launch stream it was crazy i felt so bad for them um let's bring in some super chats for you claw

31:26Chris Kerr:master writes and says all the avatar players seeing all this cursed stuff happened to them me as a longtime skull girls player and supporter first time i don't know much about skull girls and So I can't relate to you on that. Well, that's where the guy comes from. Mike Z. Oh. I haven't pulled up what we're referencing. This is PC Gamer. Wes Fenlon published July 14th, 2026. Fighting game developer previously accused of sexual harassment confirmed to be working on Avatar Legends a week before release. In 2023, I reported the development team of the then upcoming game Diesel Legacy included Mike Zaymont, previously developer on Skullgirls and Indivisible who had been accused of sexual misconduct at Lab Zero, the indie studio behind those games.

32:08And then obviously the article goes on, but that's the Skullgirls time. Thank you.

32:12Chris Kerr:Sasquatch Oni says, when I was using OnLive and Gaikai back in the day, I would just explain it as watching Netflix on your laptop, but it's streaming the game instead. I don't have a problem explaining it. I have the problem explaining the steps on how you get to all of this. Because what I'm talking about specifically is that old story I tell all the time of kids were playing Fortnite on their Switch, and they were lamenting they didn't have internet and the mom was like, I'm not going to pay for the internet in the hotel. And I had my phone and I was like, oh, let's be friends. And I opened up Game Pass or Xbox xCloud and used my Game Pass then to log into Fortnite because that was the only way to play Fortnite for a while, remember?

32:48And friend them there. And then they were like, how are you doing this? And I was like, I guess you got to go sign up for Game Pass, but even that's not... I wasn't sending you to xboxcloud.com that would explain everything. And it was like the 13 steps to explain to the seven-year-old how to do this i guess arguably for this one though like

33:05Blessing Adeoye Jr.:again this is this gets weird because i'm assuming everybody has a smart tv or a samsung tv so like i think you're absolutely right actually about that i guess for me in the world where they're able to get an xbox app on every tv then i think it gets easier in that regard because it is like oh you don't have to pay for depending on the game you're playing you don't have to pay for game pass right it's like you lock you open your tv download the xbox app and then boot up fortnight and watch an ad and then you're in there yeah but yeah even that again if we're trying to attract new players right i do all that and then oh do i need a controller oh i'm using i'm using a controller app on my phone this sucks and i turn it off and i'm not gonna go buy a 70 dollar controller whatever it's gonna be that's a good point street shadow says i don't like saying it

33:46Chris Kerr:something is doa but this plus toa con coming right around the corner uh beta this week is

33:51Blessing Adeoye Jr.:likely the nail in the coffin that's where i'm at i think with the mike zaymon stuff that speaks that speaks to the fighting game audience yeah right like which gives it a black eye there yeah and that for me the fighting audience is what this game needed to rely on in order to push you know i mean like this isn't something that was going to break out to the mainstream maybe the avatar audience right but even that is like not enough not mainstream um so when you're releasing next to marvel token which does have that's a first party playstation game with the marvel license that's essentially the next marvel versus capcom essentially oh yeah that's tough

34:23Chris Kerr:You need the fighting game audiences to prop that up, and the Mike Z stuff really deflates that. Chocolate Fox says, birthday tax turned 35 today. Keep up the awesome work. Happy birthday. GoGoMonsterTruck says, can't wait for Dicko versus Capcom. You know this reference?

34:40Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Yeah. Dicko was the DC fighting game announced yesterday. Oh, okay. DCKO. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When you look at it, it just looks like Dicko. Okay. Yeah. Then Capcom is the publisher to make Resident Evil. I don't know about that one. I don't know about that one. Sicko drives me sicko. I like that one. That's good. That's good.

34:57Chris Kerr:Let's workshop it. Aaron Lime says, can't wait for kids to see targeted ice ads while playing shooters. Sarcasm. Yeah, I mean, that is where we get weird. Of like, what kind of ads are playing on this thing. It will be interesting who has ads, yes. Dark Crow 210 says, belated birthday tax for yesterday. Love the jacket blast. Oh, thank you so much. I've had this jacket forever. I actually don't love this jacket, but I love it a little bit more because of your compliment. And then a couple more. Ed Reed fan 20 says 40th birthday tax. Happy birthday. Ed Reed fan. Happy birthday. They also did a separate super chat saying Ghostbusters cross men in black would be fun.

35:31Yeah, sure. Yeah, I thought that I don't like I like both those things. It's just aliens and ghosts. Not the exact same. You know what I mean? Well, I'll go conjuring cross Ghostbusters. That'd be a lot of fun.

35:41Chris Kerr:Okay. Yeah, we lean more into the horror. Yeah. And then Rashida. Oh, I'm going to get this. Rashida Abdul Rahim says just when you think Xbox is slightly. going to come up, they slip on a banana with BS like this. I mean, this isn't in the fucking dump truck full of banana peels Xbox has and has stepped on. This isn't even a blip on the radar. But that's the thing where it's just like, what are we doing? Why are we talking about this thing? Yeah. This ain't going to happen, Asha. We're going to move on to story number three, but before we do, I want to tell you about Patreon.com slash Kind of Funny and YouTube.com slash Kind of Funny Games where you can

37:28We'll have some fun surprises for the members of the month, so join us over on Patreon.com slash Kinda Funny. What do you know about Pompeii out of time with Tom Hiddleston? Loki. I know he was Loki. Yeah, I opened up Hulu this morning, or Disney Plus one of the two, to show Ben a cartoon. Yeah. And I saw this cover art. And I was like, oh, a show where he's transported back to Pompeii from modern times. And then he's got this Reddit ad, and it's a National Geographic show. I'm like, oh, no. It's just a documentary kind of thing about Pompeii, which I'm not against. But when I thought it was about him being in Pompeii, I was like, I like that.

38:12Instead, it looks like it's just him talking about it. Talking about it.

38:14Chris Kerr:Did you watch the Loki show? Yeah, I did. I mean there's the whole scene where I mean that's why I was like oh that'd be fun Pompeii out of time but I want to see the whole show weird way to tie that in oh I guess Disney Plus okay maybe that doesn't make sense maybe he's always been big I want to tell you the story of Pompeii he says not the one you think you know listen I love some of them Tom Hiddleston movies I do too what does he know about Pompeii what does he know about Pompeii it's not streaming everybody I'll check it out and get back to you story number three Saudi Arabia's divisive EA buyout has been approved under EA or sorry under EU merger rules this is Chris Kerr at Game Developer a consortium that includes Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund has received approval from the European Commission to acquire Battlefield and EA Sports FC maker Electronic Arts in a take in a take private deal worth 55 billion dollars the commission approved the move under its EA merger regulation rules after concluding the deal will not raise competition and concerns because of a perceived limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active the european commission has approved this is a quote uh quote the european commission has approved under the eu merger regulation the acquisition of sole control of ea of the us by the public investment fund of saudi arabia the transaction relates primarily to the production and distribution of video games for mobile devices pcs and consoles as well as the organization and commercialization of video game competitions commonly referred to as electronic sports events reads an update on the side of the side from greg reads an update on the european commission website

39:54Blessing Adeoye Jr.:you ever read like it's just such a businessy statement and you black out yeah what did i even

39:58Chris Kerr:say i'm like i'm gonna turn into a robot real quick just read words um the quote the commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns given its limited impact on competition in the markets where the companies are active. The notified transaction was examined under the normal merger review procedure, end quote. The European Commission works to scrutinize proposed mergers irrespective of where a company is located if it feels those companies involved could impact markets within the European Union. In an explainer on its website, the organization said it strives to examine whether proposed mergers could harm competition in the region.

40:33Chris Kerr:Quote, if it is considered that a merger will not harm competition, is approved unconditionally conversely if a merger would harm competition suitable commitments will be proposed by the merging firms to remove the harm it's a weird way of saying it remove the harm in the absence of such commitments problematic mergers must be prohibited to protect businesses and consumers the commission states i don't really have an opinion on this one aside from this continues to suck ass yeah but it doesn't suck ass because of this it just sucks ass of

41:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:yeah saudi arabia buying more stuff yeah specifically ea right such a big publisher yeah yeah yeah exactly yeah you know yeah it sucks i i you know i have not expected the eu or the u.s to step in and stop this definitely that's the thing is yeah that's a prize virus news but definitely not the u.s but even the eu you know they got us they got rid of the lightning port for me so i don't think the u.s is going to stop kuchner jared kuchner jared kuchner you don't I don't think they're going to stop that. Or, you know, the people who just give them planes or whatever. People give them planes? In Saudi Arabia, isn't they?

41:41Oh, did Saudi Arabia give them a plane? Kevin, am I wrong on that? It's the least surprising thing you can tell me. Yeah.

41:46Chris Kerr:Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah, remember he was all talking about it. It's just the worst. We live in the worst. Continue to keep an eye on it. X Games are happening in skate right now, though. The X Games are happening in skate? Yeah, yeah, yeah. How often, like, do they email you directly?

41:59Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Oh, yeah. Is it a PR blast or is it a guy named Tom that's just friends with you that's like, hey, I got good news for you? No, no. Text you all the skate updates. No, no, it's PR. It's PR. And then I was like, do you want to interview? I'm like, no, I'm sorry. Yeah. Nobody's going to want to hear me talk about skate with him. I was wondering what the skate connection was. I forget that was EA. I thought you just wanted to talk about skate. Yeah, good for you. Thank you. Yeah. Mbappe's on the AFC cover. Oh, that's cool for you. Yeah, cool. Wemby's on NBA for Andy. Yeah. And what's funny is On the show yesterday I was like I wonder how they're gonna Fit him on the cover I didn't realize that They actually Yeah right I didn't actually realize They actually did Reveal the covers Yeah And he looks great On that cover Yeah Like looking down At everybody Or I guess we were Looking up at him Like trying to get at him He's got up on a tough face I love a good tough face Yeah This man has an aura He does?

42:47Well Wembe has an aura Most tall people do I mean he would make you Look tiny though I know he would I know he would Story number four So does Scoville Yeah You know what I mean? When me and Max are next to yourself, I'm like, Jesus Christ, you're tall. They call him the Wemby of games journalists. They call him the Wemby of games journalists.

43:03Chris Kerr:Number four, an update on Thick as Thieves. Boo! I'm reading from a Steam blog post titled, The Future of Thick as Thieves. My fellow thieves, there is none. I'm here today to talk about the future. I've heard your questions and want to answer them to hopefully put your concerns to rest.

43:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:i'm gonna pause there and explain things thieves is a game that me and greg really liked greg really loved playing think it's the evening you played it on a stream a month or so ago had a great time and the game seemed really cool because it was five dollars and it seemed like it was one of those ones i was gonna give maybe updates over time that was their plan yeah they launched with whatever i think two areas don't quote me and nine kind of missions and whatever and there's a lot under the hood there and there was the promise of more and then the layoffs cool co-op stealth focused game had immersive sim vibes but you and a homie are sneaking into a place stealing things doing objectives could play it alone you know come back and use all your stuff together it was really fun so that's why this is a story here because me and greg really like thickest these also yeah it sucks this is war inspector's studio right so the layoffs already have been reported here and then to see it start to domino out so to continue the post working in

44:09Chris Kerr:the gaming industry is at times delightful and at time at other times heartbreaking as many of you know other side entertainment has lost most of its beloved members and only a very small team remains. This means there will be no further content updates for Thick as Thieves. To be frank, this is not the outcome that any of us want, but we're facing the reality that ongoing development of extra content, modes, and systems is not a viable path. Having said that, there is positive news also. In partnership with our publisher, Megabit, we're working to secure the future of Thick as Thieves for our players.

44:39Chris Kerr:This means that a small team of dedicated people are hard at work to ensure that the game continues to function in the future. This mainly involves putting together a new version of the game that uses peer-to-peer servers for co-op play. The gameplay and flow of your experience will remain virtually identical, but will not need the use of dedicated servers in the cloud. This will allow you to continue playing with your friends when you desire, and importantly, solo play will be completely unaffected. Once this work is complete, Megabit will take over the care of the game and respond to bugs and other issues as needed.

45:10Chris Kerr:We know that this news is bittersweet, but our community or sorry our number one priority is ensure continued operations of the game that we all love rest assured fellow thieves we are going to keep the game alive for you and all of us until next time tread softly steal what you can give nothing back jeff and the ose team heartbreaker

45:31Blessing Adeoye Jr.:heartbreaker but the way that they're handling it is so graceful and like generous the fact that they're keeping this game alive doing the peer-to-peer service thing yeah we oftentimes see games shut down and this is just all right you just can't play this game anymore yeah it's disappeared yeah the fact that they're keeping this game alive i think is cool for the people that would like to play it in the long term and just for video game preservation overall yeah of course yeah you gotta applaud them for that and of course you have to lament you know the industry and decisions that have led to this right where i what i'm i'm uh july 3rd 2026 think of these devs other side entertainment impacted by further layoffs of this entertainment impacted another round of layoffs impacting 18 devs the boston-based developer told them yada yada this is you know in lieu of the ones that are already last month 17 employees were laid off when it canceled the development project named argos like it's just that and i think that was the whole thing with this one where thick thieves of like let's get it out just get it out and get some kind of revenue coming through the front door right and hopefully have this be one of those five dollar games you can get your friend to buy you can buy you can buy multiple copies for your friends like mike does or whatever and have them off to the races yeah and so even getting what we got it was like this is really cool i hope they're able to find success with it and then the layoffs started coming i'm never getting more of it so it sucks to see it but it is nice to see that megabit stepping in to you know going if we're doing like a rose no not rose that's not their face if we're looking back if we're doing a retrospective real quick on thinkest thieves what do you think this game could have done to pop what do you think it could have done to find that audience oh man what What a great question, Bless.

47:05Honestly, I think it just needed this. Well, I don't know. Because it's like, where do you want to start Monday morning quarterbacking it? Where? Because it was in what showcase? Was it in a Jeff one? Was it Summer Game Fest this year even? Where they were like, they gave a release date maybe? I forget, but we definitely saw it somewhere.

47:25Blessing Adeoye Jr.:It seems to me like. I mean, this game came out before the Summer Game Fest, didn't it? Wasn't this like May or something? I'll double check. I don't remember anymore. how do you stand out and how do you make a game success and blah blah blah like honestly it seems to me like the Argos part of it was a problem what May 20th when this game came out come on we saw something then maybe a state of no I wouldn't make sense doesn't matter I feel like you're talking about a studio that as we always talk about in these situations maybe it was too big the fact that you have this going and you have Argos going and then also chat remind me or you can Google it while I continue to just talk think of thieves went through a thing right where it was going to be a bigger game or it was going to be a different oh here we go and it was going to be it was going to be pv pve and then everyone's

48:12Chris Scullion:like we hate that yeah remember i went to go see the preview event before any of this ever happened and it was a three team three person game that was going to be a pv pve heist game and so yeah they were like oh this doesn't sound like it's going to make the cut here let's switch it to a

48:28Blessing Adeoye Jr.:co-op just single player experience i might you want to stay for a second because i have a very weird take on this one and it's i'm this is a hot take that you guys are gonna hate but like i'm i almost look at this and i'm like would this have done better if it was just straight up friend slop like is it well i mean stopping like this is back to what i was driving at mike's point and then this other thing it would have done better if it was a smaller studio focus just on making the game we played yeah if you would have launched if you would have been like we are making this single player or dual player game where you're running through and heisting and it's going to be thief but you're playing with the other friends and it's like I feel like that would have had better juice and better sticking and staying power then here's what we're introducing it as we don't like that oh fuck we're changing it well you've already burned me by saying the thing I

49:13Chris Scullion:didn't like in the front yeah it felt like a pivot at like 90 % right of like hey we're ready this is what we want to do okay hold up we don't think this is going to survive because yeah we're not making a friend slop game we were making a higher budget game than that and it seems like oh this isn't the feedback and also seeing the market was dictating hey this probably isn't going to survive that far and when they took the last minute pivot i think that was like the calling card like hey we might not make this yeah no there's a hail mary at that point which you want the best for but i think it's so hard to believe it's back to my argument all the time with multiple xbox decisions but definitely the xbox one launch of like or announcement of halo halo halo tv tv tv we hate that oh fuck we'll change well we don't believe in your vision you don't have a vision we don't believe in you the

49:57Blessing Adeoye Jr.:reason why i bring up the friend slop thing is you know going back to when we played this game on stream we're talking about a for us a two-player co-op thing we're going in we're stealthing through and it's five dollars yeah even as we were playing it immediately or not immediately but like it kind of settled in for me where i was like i don't know if this is going to make it this game is this game is so specific and so i think to our tastes of i love a dishonored I love a Deus Ex I love an immersive sim I like a lot of the design decisions here but this it's dark you know what I mean it's it has such a not off-putting like aesthetic to it but there's something about it where I don't I don't think people will see that on the Steam store that doesn't look like Peak it doesn't look like Peak it doesn't look like a oh that's fun with friends that like I'm gonna have a blast play this with friends on stream mic and all this shit right like I think there's a a level of saturation with co-op games with friends that is out there to where when you are friend quality and you're complete competing with the amount of friend slop that's out there that looks more colorful that looks more inviting i don't know man i think that's such a tough place to be in and i did not see this game blowing up past that sure yeah yeah i mean i think like you and greg said right

51:09Chris Scullion:that price tag was like an exciting idea of like hey here's a team who's pivoting but like we want to make it customer friendly of it's five dollars come in and give this a try we're going to give you a very small slice because clearly we're reworking the entire game of what we thought and we want you to get in and get involved but like as you guys know right when you jumped in there was an excitement there was a fun but the question would be how fast is that rollout going to be right we've talked about this with so many games of how do you keep feeding the beast and plus i totally agree with you right if this is a three-man operation and we come in with a smaller friend slap-esque title maybe this does a little bit differently but yeah i think this was shooting for a grander star than that all right thank you thank you for hanging out mike let's

51:54Chris Kerr:move on to story number five amazon's prime video app is getting luna game streaming making it easier to find this is actually also this is how tall i am next to max man how tall is max i'm kruish man i'm 6 '3 so what he's got to be 6 '6 6 '7 in the wrong game business but i mean in the nba

52:13Blessing Adeoye Jr.:damn um this story is actually really interesting coming off of us talking about how easy or non-easy

52:18Chris Kerr:to explain xbox game streaming so let's jump into it this is chris scolian at video games chronicle amazon has announced that its luna game streaming service is now being integrated into the prime video app starting today the update is being rolled out to prime video on fire tv devices in the uk with plans to add it to other devices in countries in the coming months what's up we're putting it it's it's coming to amazon prime on this thing on this device only in this country the new integration means that amazon prime members can find games in the same prime video app they use to watch movies tv and sports instead of having to download a separate luna app the update adds a new you like that brilliant the update adds a new games tab to the app and when players choose a game it starts streaming allowing them to play it with a controller or their phone jeff goddess the gm of gaming at amazon said the decision to add luna to the prime video app should make it easier for Prime subscribers to find the game streaming service, which they may not even realize they have access to via their subscription.

53:17Chris Kerr:Quote, for a lot of people, games have been harder to find than they should be, he said in a statement. Bringing Luna inside Prime Video allows Prime members to discover games more naturally, and if they see one they like, they click it and they're in. That's less time searching and more time playing great games included with their Prime membership, such as Judge Snoop Dogg. Yes. He didn't say the last part. You added that in there. now Judge Schwarzenegger as well right yeah AI I think for some bullshit yeah that was him right there that was him right there I've seen him a few times the trailers have been running you like this yeah I mean like will I ever use this absolutely not but it's like yes get it out in front of people this is what I mean since every time we lament Netflix and Netflix games right it's the idea that so many people pay for Netflix and only use their TV app and never have any idea that there's a game there once in a blue moon you get a screen that says something about it but you don't know that it's actually there i think giving it a permanent section up there as they just show in what where it's going to be as someone who uses his prime app a lot for movies and whatever that's a great idea again like what does this actually lead to is there a conversion yada yada yada no but in terms of like doing it right and making it simple my friend in missouri who turns on her tv and looks and her children are fucking around and see games up there they

54:29Blessing Adeoye Jr.:can they see overcooked and they're like oh i wanted to play that dad right yeah go off fall out of four game of the year edition plus with amazon was does the amazon it might be a question for unless you know maybe a question for chat amazon prime free games that's a thing i know that's a thing to some extent well isn't luna integrate with luna play games for play games in prime tv it's gone now because people might be sitting on a goldmine of games and i even realize it it's that thing where they revamped luna enough when i stopped listening a long time ago because i don't remember i don't play games in prime video on fire tv included with prime so it is included with prime okay because i remember reading like every week or every two weeks there was always a video games chronicle article that was like here's all the free games with amazon and i never redeemed any of them um but i wonder yeah right now there's people saying got replaced with luna what did the free games oh barnall's saying you get free games with your prime yeah like i'm boot i do not own dispatch on amazon prime and i'm booting that right now gotcha so like boom well i'm not talking i guess okay i'm not talking about the luna catalog i'm talking about like in the way that playstation plus has free games every month yeah amazon has the same well i think that i think so that's now i think luna is that is that program i think luna is included in amazon prime now okay rather than being a separate subscription

55:50Chris Kerr:chat correct me if i'm wrong okay yeah chat's that's helping um that's a cool way to play

55:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:this special like that's yeah i'm i'm surprised by two things one i'm surprised that luna was its own app like now that i think about it why sure i never this was a weird thing i remember i never even thought about the fact that i that you had to download a luna app that seems like an insane way to do that when you have the amazon prime video app right there so that's first and foremost secondly i guess second the second thing isn't a thing i'm surprised about it's more so a thing that i'm gonna keep an eye on i guess this feels like something that should be very successful yeah your amazon yeah that so many people open amazon prime tv every single day as an app especially when you put seasons of invincible on there yeah like you have so much visibility i don't know like this seems like something that should work out and i know amazon hasn't had the best um history when it comes to their video game outings sure and supporting the game development studios they're springing up this is a different thing this is a service this is i would argue what Amazon's good at.

56:55Yeah. And so, yeah, Luna Standard is included with Prime. Play from a rotating library of games plus game night party games included with Prime. It's what I'm on right now. It includes FC 26, Fortnite, Dispatch, Fallout 4, Goat Simulator 3, Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones, Great Circle, Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Guardians of the Galaxy, Hot Wheels Unleashed 1 and 2. Then you get into the courtroom chaos garbage. Control Ultimate Edition, Alan Wake 2, Alien Isolation, Alien Wake, Overcooked, Ultimate Chicken Horse, Fallout New Vegas, Ultimate Edition. There are great games on here that, again, we're all ignoring because you're not thinking about playing your things over here on Prime.

57:36Chris Kerr:Yeah. Greg? Yes. Of course, there's story number six, there's story number seven, but we're so late in the show that we're going to demote those stories because there weren't really big stories, honestly. Okay. So, we just got done talking about the big stories. Yeah. I want something smaller. Say the tiniest news I need to know about. Where would I go? You'd go to our last news item, the smallest news you need to know about in the Wii News channel. Woo-hoo! Story number six that is now part of Wii News. Miyamoto says at least three Nintendo games were created with the Mario movies in mind. Go over to Chris Skolian at Video Games Chronicle if you want to read his full article about it.

58:14Chris Kerr:It comes via the latest interview with Miyamoto in an issue of Famitsu, where he kind of talked about how the latest Star Fox game was green-lit

58:24Blessing Adeoye Jr.:because Star Fox was appearing in the Mario movie along with Princess Peach Showtime being in the Mario movie. That's what led to that game. And then Yoshi, the latest Yoshi game, was also a result of them knowing early on

58:34Chris Kerr:that Yoshi was going to be in the second Mario movie. People are going to love this Yoshi. We got to get a game for the Yoshi. Yeah, so that's something to think about. One of the quotes I like here at the end of the article actually is, quote, this is from Yamamoto. So that decision was made fairly early on. and even though we broke the rules we followed up we followed up until now it was surprisingly well received and this is him talking about starfox being in mario he then goes on to say if characters like samus were if characters like samus were to show up though it would definitely get a bit too complicated so i don't think it's a matter of just throwing anything out there and i

59:06Blessing Adeoye Jr.:want to know from miyamoto what makes samus more complicated than starfox is it just that she's more real isn't her ship in the movie oh yeah slave one right or not slave one hi i don't know I don't know. What's her stupid ship? I don't know. What's the name of her ship? Was that in the one? Bo Fett. Yeah, they freeze framed it. It's off the back of it. There's so many references in that movie that I've already forgotten everything. But yeah, people are saying, yeah, her ship is. Yeah, I want to know what the fucking name of the ship is without Googling. I'm trying to remember. I would just love to know Miyamoto's answer to why Star Fox makes more sense than Samus.

59:42Blessing Adeoye Jr.:And I'm sure it's just that she's a real woman in Star Fox.

59:45Chris Kerr:star fox looks like more he belongs in that universe um story number seven was about point b delisted critically acclaimed mobile game point p is got it's just called gunship it doesn't have a name what sorry yeah um point p is back if you remember point p was a game released in 2022 as a netflix exclusive a bunch of these netflix games got delisted and so point p was unavailable now it is available uh just on the app store or google play store as a free title uh and so you can go play point b it was well received very well i don't know what this game i've never heard it's a i think it might be a devolver game double check me on oh no yeah it is evolving because devolver was the one talking about it okay um so if you want to play point b again a very well received game that was on netflix that got delisted that's now available on your devices boom you can do it for free do it boom roast it actual we news for you from rpg site i am 8-bit and yacht club games have announced a mina the hollower collection including a three disc notebook and a keychain set uh kev i do have images of this one if you want to show it off to the people people love that stuff people love that stuff you're gonna get these three times lps no do you listen to vinyl do you do vinyl i do do vinyl but i'm not like i like me the

1:01:04Blessing Adeoye Jr.:holower but i'm not like i gotta buy the collectors did you ever beat it no yeah uh if you scroll down here yeah that image looks cool and you know what i love the image like the vinyl cover so much yeah that i might just do it for that okay um but it feels on sale how do you feel about keychains yeah yeah i'm not big into keychains aliens fireteam elite 2 launches august 25th

1:01:30Chris Kerr:Dragon Ball Sparking Zero's super limit breaking Neo DLC is out July 30th. And finally from VGC, the fourth season of WWE 2K26's Ringside Pass is available. The premium route of Ringside Pass Season 4 adds Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Jelly Roll, and Lady Shawnee from AAA. It also adds a combined 47 new moves and taunts the creation suite. And that is it for Wii News. Glad the Hardy boys are there.

1:01:56Blessing Adeoye Jr.:That excites me. That brings me back to SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. Sure. swanton bombing. But they had the moveset. Of course. So I would create Jeff Hardy and then add in the,

1:02:06Chris Kerr:give him the swanton bomb, give him the moveset. So, saying that, you know, history repeats itself with them not being in the game and then eventually having a way to do it. Really cool. Let's hop into Super Chats real quick. See what people are talking about. I'm Just Ability says, sup y 'all, currently playing Eternal Strands on Game Pass. Pretty sick. I appreciate the subscription for playing titles like these. Hell yeah. Yeah, sure. good job good for you immersion fragrances says did y 'all see the halo reviews 80 plus metacritic and vgc 100 uh did we see them we lived them up next is your games cast review of halo combat campaign evolved halo campaign evolved it'll be there it's gonna be hosted by ray hosted by ray hosted by ray wait who's ray the super popular streamer ray narvaez ray narvaez is coming to the studio he's here right now he's here right now yeah wow he walked in while we're doing the show.

1:02:59Oh, that's who that was.

1:03:01Chris Kerr:We should call. We should have shouted at him or something. Ah, we're busy. Silver J. Hawkins says always remember they think money first and you never. Of course, we know that. And then Christopher 21 says huge skate fan. The new arena is underwhelming. Fair enough. Yeah, I haven't turned it on. I haven't had the chance. I need to get in there and see what's in the shop. Yeah, that's by decks. You know, we got to be ready. Where do you find the time to play and skate? I mean, again, I'm just I go in. I do a few tricks. I do my thing. Good for you. Yeah, you get free bucks every day you know currency so i gotta go i gotta log into the but again i haven't done in a while i haven't done it a while and then one more from muckda who says off topic but watching your vids and your review have convinced me i'm in the x-hole after you bless i think we need a kind of funny best friend xenoblade moment hell yeah y 'all go play xenoblade i'm in everybody's saying i'm 70

1:03:47Blessing Adeoye Jr.:percent of the way through the game now they've been saying that for the last 10 hours so i might be more like 90 of the way through the game but let me tell you i've started to hit moments where it's all coming together it's popping off the story's paying off everything they're building up we gotta we gotta do an actual review of xenoblade chronicles i thought yeah you'll you have it on the schedule you'll do it okay yeah i was trying to do kayfabe you know no no i think you should do it i mean i think you can allow me i like you owning it i like you saying you're doing the review allow me because it was italicized it's italicized yeah just because i wanted to make sure i beat the game yeah i know i've been there it seems like i'm gonna beat the game by next friday so maybe next week okay okay no promises but it seems like he's trying everybody don't get on his case about it he's trying spoilers i like it um let's get into you're wrong

1:04:33Chris Kerr:where you write in let us know what we get wrong as we got it wrong so we can correct it for those watching later on youtube and listening later on podcast services around the globe small says it was qatar that gifted trump the jet not the saudis but apologies there you go and then yes bander says samus's ship doesn't have an actual name but in war the ship is a federation class b single pilot nick named fuck you they said it's a single pilot nick named sug on these

1:05:03Chris Kerr:shut up batmander and that is it for you're wrong and that is it for this episode of kind of funny games daily after this that's right we're doing it we're reviewing halo campaign evolved. What does Mike think of it? How mad is he that multiplayer isn't in it? You'll have to tune in to see. Of course. We get a meeting about Top 100. You know what I mean? And all the people that'll be here and like cool things we could do with them. And Tim was like, well, it's like if Halo made the list, right? Everybody could sing the Halo song. And I have no idea what every time I do it, I just start doing Little Mermaid.

1:05:40When she's like doing the vocalization from underneath when she gets, maybe when she gets her voice or loses his voice? I don't know. It's been a very long time since I watched The Lone Mermaid. I used to watch it all the time.

1:05:49Blessing Adeoye Jr.:Under the Sea. You remember that? Yeah, I remember that. Under the Sea. I think as a kid, I'm pretty sure I just replayed that part. That's a great part. It was that song and then Aladdin. It was the first song in Aladdin. It was like the one who was running through the town. I used to watch that all the time. Yeah.

1:06:04Chris Kerr:And that's no joke. Yeah, that's a great one. Man, I love that. Yeah. Enjoy Gamescast next and the stream after. But until next time, Game Daily.
