Key claims
- Nelson Deosa (Real Betis) linked by ABC Sevilla; Ipswich interest questioned as a starter-level “marquee” mismatch.
- Rogerio Neacossi (Leuven, Switzerland U21 captain) described as a talented, ball-playing 22-year-old with set-piece threat; risk/reward for Premier League transition.
- Solly March (Brighton) could be a free/low-cost experienced Premier League squad option; injury record is the main concern.
- Ethan Nwaneri and Harvey Elliott links are treated as likely unreliable/ambitious.
- Jamie Vardy: could fit as an experienced Premier League-style striker, though stylistic concerns remain.
Notable examples
- Deosa: 11.5m euro fee cited; only 2 shots inside the box and 0 on target in La Liga last year.
- Neacossi: 6’2”, four goals, Marseille buyback clause ~6m euro; Leuven price ~8m euro.
- March: 300 Brighton appearances; contract expiry; Brighton’s European ambitions reduce his role.
- Vardy: 39, 7 goals/9 assists in Italy before relegation; scored against Udinese and Juventus.

0:38Ross Halls:hello everybody it's me roscoe and welcome to the latest israel's town transfer talk the show we're keeping up to speed on all the latest links and rumors surrounding the blues i'm here with alex jones as standard our transfer expert um how well we're gonna sort of talk about the latest rumours AJ because it's been a busier week than last time we recorded a few links out there some European players some experienced players in the UK some youngsters as well how you my friend as we deep dive into transfers yeah I'm good thanks I've been off the I was off from Friday through till Monday and it was quite quiet on the rumour front and I was having a little look through while I was away and I thought I'm a bit worrying when I come back we're going to have to do some transfer stuff I'm not really sure there's going to be a lot and the last maybe three four days or so it's just been bam bam bam yeah plenty to touch on plenty to get through lots of links we'll try and separate facts from fiction what we think of certain players a lot to get stuck into and some intriguing names yes indeed to be fair transfers never sleep even though it could be a quiet few days and out of nowhere there'll be a room there'll be a link out there even if how wrong it could be and not even a chance that bladder sign it's still suffering to chat about people love transfers especially during the off season when there's no football um and we've got how many players here one two three four about four or five six players to sort of talk about um let's start with a colombian though aj this is sexy this is what i want to talk about it's the most recently as we record are we recording just before two o 'clock on friday 29th of may um but nelson de ossa um is the link my friend is a midfielder from real betes um let us know a bit more where the link the report came from first of all and a bit about him yeah this one came up late late-ish last night from uh abc sevilla in spain who were reporting the town were kind of the latest team to start sniffing around Nelson Deosa with a bit of interest there.
2:48Plenty of interest in him. I think River Plate have kind of been front of the queue in Argentina but also a couple of Brazilian sides, Flamingo and Vasco de Gama named as well. And for a lot of people, Deosa's not going to really be a household name, let's put it that way. He spent a lot of time in South America with his native of colombia was in argentina for a little bit um and then ended up going to to mexico um he was with pachuca at first and then at monterey and it was a monterey where he caught the eye because they were playing in the club world cup last summer and um there was a quite a lot of interest going about with him forest and west ham were credited with interest and it was real bettis who ended up winning the race uh 11 and a half million euros was what was uh kind of the the fee that was put out there, which is around£10 million.
3:47And Monterey also have a sell-on fee. And it's been a tricky period for him over in Spain where he's not really had the minutes. He's not really had the opportunities to show too much. He's only started eight games. He's had 12 games off the bench, just over 700 minutes, didn't score or assist in La Liga last year. and Real Betis went on to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in I think about 20-odd years that they've reached this competition. So they're naturally going to want to go and upgrade certain areas of their starting line-up to prepare for that. And there's a feeling that they're quite happy to let Deosa leave if they can turn a bit of a profit on him.
4:30And Ipswich are one of the teams who have been linked. it's always difficult to kind of judge local outlets in foreign countries and see what the reliability is I mean we are to them a local outlet in a foreign country so you can't really look too far beyond that and understand that there's definitely a possibility a strong transfer which have sounded out Deosa as one of the targets he's an interesting player I think it is the way to look at it We don't really know too much about how he's adapted to Spanish football. I haven't seen a lot of them. He's quite attacking, but you'd imagine we're playing that kind of double pivot role next to Azul Matasi, where if he was signed, he's a left footer, about 5 '10".
5:18So you think the physical profile would fit. Interestingly, if you have a look at his shot map, he's taken 18 shots, 16 have been inside the box, not a single one. Sorry, 16 have been outside the box, 2 inside the box, not a single one have hit the target, which is interesting. But yeah, that's the link. That's the rumour. I'm not too sure about this one. Personally, I think that there's a lot to like. It's a very sexy link. It's a very attractive link, isn't it? But as a starting player, at least, I'm not too sure whether this would be the route I would go down with that midfield role. And I think that's going to be such an important role.
5:56I think that Ipswich should be looking at a higher level of player as a starter. if it was a squad option, then that would be a different story, but it would have to be at the right price for me. £10 million in that region is possibly a deal that I could see being done, but I don't think that it's the right profile for that real marquee midfielder that I think Ipswich need.
6:20Ross Halls:Yeah, I'm probably blindsided because, yeah, he's South American. He's playing abroad. He's playing in La Liga. But from all the stuff you just mentioned just now, oh, yeah, probably not the player you want to be alongside Azor Matasiwa, sort of battling the best of the best in the Premier League. But it could be an option. Once again, we didn't have a clue who Azor Matasiwa, when he first signed. We had to get a lot of insight on that, although he had sort of proven in Holland and then France and stuff like that. Had more opportunities, hadn't he, to showcase. And with Deosa, I mean, he's obviously had good campaigns elsewhere.
6:57It's not worked for him in Spain, really, this time round. there have been talks he's not been too happy some whispers of attitude issues i don't know too much about about those it's just from things i've seen online um but it's clear that look he's at a stage of his career he's 26 now he's going to be turning 27 next february he is going to want to go and play regular football somewhere it's just about finding what that level is um i'm not sure that that's going to be maybe premier league level given that he struggled to get into the Real Betis team, admittedly a Real Betis team that have got really good options in midfield.
7:34They've had Pablo Fornells, who's been one of the best midfielders in Europe this season, alongside Mark Roca, and Betis have done really well in the way they've played, and people have been impressed with Diossa and what he's shown at Real Betis, but it feels a little bit risky to me when the bulk of his experience and what we've seen from him beyond little flashes has come in Mexico and in South America.
8:00Ross Halls:Although, it could be a hidden gem. We'll see. But I think this guy next up, who we're going to talk about could be another hidden gem, is a defender now, a physical ball-playing centre-back, and that is Rogerio Neacossi, who was born in Switzerland, but he's currently playing in Belgium, AJ. Let us know a bit more about good old Roger. I'm going to call him Roger. yeah really talented centre-back um who's playing over in Belgium he uh had some time in Marseille was playing in their B team didn't really work out in terms of progressing into the first team at Marseille so they let him leave to go and play for H Leuven in Belgium and he's been really really good he's been one of the the best centre-backs in in the Belgian top flight despite the fact that his team have kind of been quite near to the bottom of the league, only just avoiding a relegation playoff spot to ensure that they will be in the top flight next year.
9:02And he's attracted a lot of interest with that. He's Switzerland's under-21s captain. He's tall. He's 6 '2". He really enjoys playing with the ball at his feet. Yeah, he's scored four goals, so he's a set-piece threat as well. And it's attracted a lot of interest. the teams that you see linked at the moment there are a lot of them, which again feels a little bit like it could be agent driven it's come from Futur Mercato over in France who've said that Ipswich are in the race to sign him alongside get ready for this, French sides Strasbourg and Lyon we've got Bundesliga, Quartet, Augsburg Hoffenheim, Stuttgart and Werder Bremen then you've got Feyenoord over in the Dutch Eredivisie and Everton as well I've seen Liverpool have been linked with him previously too.
9:53Marseille are understood to have a buyback clause that was at 6 million euros, so about 5 million pounds. And if he doesn't go back to Marseille, which I'm not convinced is overly likely at the moment, then Leuven are said to want around 8 million euros, about 7 million pounds. So not a huge money move and clearly a talented centre-back. Then you kind of come into the same discussions again. He's not a centre-back who's had loads of experience at the top level. He's not played in Ligue 1 with Marseille, for example, and his minutes have come in the Belgian Pro League. How does that transfer into Premier League football?
10:28Clearly someone with a high ceiling, but it's risk and reward. Do you take the risk on someone who is 22, has a high ceiling, a good ball player, but know that it might not be the easiest transition to come into the Premier League? Teams like Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth, however, are quite big on that kind of recruitment and signing someone that you've never heard of. And the fact that there is this long queue of teams, and I'm not saying that all of these clubs that have been reported are definitely interested and have him top of the queue, and Ipswich, again, I'm not saying that Ipswich have him in that same position or that there is any interest there at all.
11:06This is just what the report's going to come up with. It shows that he is a talented player. It's just going to be about how that fit is and what kind of opportunities he would have at Portman Road if signed. But a nice link nonetheless.
11:20Ross Halls:Yeah. Do you know what? I think we will sign a few players like this who are just sort of never heard of and who are just sort of got that potential. And he could be one of those. Do you know one thing when you were talking just then and talking about Marseille with their buyback clause, the option to re-sign him? I would say it's sort of out of the question that they sort of re-sign him but then sell him on again. I don't know how often that has happened. I know that has happened in football. But they may look at it and go, he's just had a not bad season in Belgium. We sign him. He's probably not going to be for us in the future.
11:53Ross Halls:We could loan him out and then maybe sell him on later on. Maybe there's nothing there. But yeah, as I said, for Towns recruitment, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a player like this that we sign someone who we just like, who? But then they come out and become like a hidden gem, as I said. Yeah, he could be a star. 100 % he could be. and the fact that you've seen Liverpool linked and other top clubs shows the kind of level that he could be at for sure.
12:23It's a case of knowing what route you want to go down. And foreign recruitment, it's weird with an Ipswich perspective, isn't it? Well, we've seen such a limited amount of it. And what you have to do as well, and what I know is a big thing with foreign recruitment, is that you need to have this idea of how leagues compare to one another. That is a really big thing. And teams kind of come up with their own rating system where you can say, take a striker, for example. Let's say it's a striker who's playing in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands and he's scored 20 goals. And you then essentially have to take those numbers and the stats that he's posted and say, right, so based on our kind of rating system, how would the Dutch top flight transition to the Premier League?
13:04exactly so for example Troy Parrott scored what like 24 goals something like that in in the Dutch top flight how does that then transition to the Premier League how does that what would his numbers look like in a in a lip switch team in a whoever's after him leads Everton blah blah how does that compare so that's that's what a lot of the kind of foreign recruitment will look like is is kind of rating and ranking leagues, and you've got to also have a strong idea about different stats, what's going to be like touches that you have, especially when you're a ball-playing centre-back, physical duels, all of these kind of things, the physical side of things.
13:47Everything needs to be kind of compared and transitioned. Centre-backs are really difficult ones to do that with, though. And the Belgian Pro League is also a really difficult one as well, and an odd market where you can see players absolutely fly and perform really, really well. But there are various examples of players who've come from Belgium into the Premier League and just haven't cut it. So, yeah, risk versus reward. Interested to see what happens with him, if it's to England, if it's to Ipswich, or if it's to somewhere else. But Niyakosie is certainly an interesting prospect.
14:19Ross Halls:Yeah, I think, as I said, I think we'll have one or two of these and then we'll just see how they go and if they don't work out, they don't work out, They're not going to be a big sort of transfer fee. But one thing I think, AJ, that town will need to do is get experienced Premier League recruitment in. And that is the next link we're going to talk about. Soley March, who is brightened through and through pretty much. He's been there for so long. 300 appearances for them. He's obviously a versatile 31-year-old player. He's had his injuries, though, the last few seasons. I think he only made like four appearances this year for the Seagulls.
14:56Ross Halls:Yeah, his contract expires with him in the summer. I think they had an option to extend it, but they opted against it. So, Solimarch could go on and find a club elsewhere. Let us know a little bit more about this. And I think, yeah, a good little discussion about players, you know, experience like Solimarch. I think Towns should target if they can. Yeah, they'll need to. And it's important for Kieran McKenna teams. We've seen that with Ashley Young. So, let's talk about Solimarch a little bit. This was a report that's come from Team Talk after it was announced that Solimarch will leave Brighton, as you mentioned, have the option to extend this deal by another 12 months.
15:31But with the way that Brighton are trending, their conference league next year, they're going to look to be in a higher European competition the season after that. The kind of approach they're trying to take is going to go away from players like Solimarch, who'd been there for so long, had his injury issues, has only had very few opportunities when he has come back because of the quality that Brighton have in their squad. And so they've allowed him to leave for free. The report from Team Talk says, get ready for this one, Newcastle, Everton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Fulham have all made expressions of interest regarding a potential move with Ipswich and Coventry.
16:08There's a lot of Ipswich and Coventry in transfer rumours at the moment. Those two really paired together. also seeing him as the type of experienced Premier League quality signing capable of strengthening squads significantly. And it's understood that March's leadership, versatility and technical ability could prove invaluable as they prepare for the challenge of surviving in the top flight. And you can see why. You can see the appeal. And I'd be interested to see what kind of level he's going to end up at. I think that he will be in the Premier League next year, despite interest from West Ham and Wolves.
16:44Do I think he's the kind of player who can go and sign for Newcastle or Everton or Palace or probably even Forest and really threaten to get into those teams? No. So I think he will be someone who will end up towards maybe the bottom end of the Premier League. And at that point, you have to have Ipswich in that conversation, even though, again, you have to take the source with a pinch of salt, let's say, and not look into it too much. but certainly an interesting link and the versatility aspect is interesting as well, where he would fit in. In my mind, I think the biggest area would be if Ipswich were to switch to a back five.
17:19I know I'll always say it, he's a very good left wing back option and could be good cover for Leaf Davis.
17:25Ross Halls:Yeah, definitely. As I said, Town just need to bring in players with experience at this level and he's not played the last few years, but he's not going to be a regular. I'm sure he probably knows he's not going to be playing week in, week out. do you think this one as you said about the source but one that could potentially happen if the option's there and I'm sure Kieran McKenna will know a little bit about Solly Yeah 100 % again I'm not going to be big on the source I have more than enough alarm bells and questions there with Team Talker there's another rumour we'll come on to in a bit from the same source that I certainly have question marks over as well but But if this is something that's within reach for Ipswich financially in terms of the demands being met for game time and the aspirations, then certainly 31's not that old for a player.
18:17The biggest concern for me would be his injury record. He's had some really tough ones. But if Ipswich can look past that, I think that A, you're then getting a player who can handle himself at Premier League level and has done so for the past decade nearly, I think, that he's played for Brighton in the Premier League. but also then getting a player who seems to be a great character. There's a reason why Brighton have stuck with him so long despite the fact that they've progressed at such an incredible rate under Fabian Herzler and under De Zerbe previously and Graham Potter, the way that they've gone through and qualified for Europe.
18:52And what I like as well is that he's been on that journey that Ipswich want to have, which is you sustain in the Premier League, you can build your way up the division season on season, you get into Europe, you have that experience and Brighton have been in that position for quite a while now that's the path that Ipswich want and to have someone who's been so instrumental in that over the years as Soli March, I think could be really, really important so yeah, I'm sure there'll be good interest in him especially from the bottom end of the Premier League and possibly some interest abroad as well but if Ipswich have the opportunity, he'd certainly be one I would be looking at.
19:33Ross Halls:Definitely. I think we're actually going to continue with that source, as you mentioned just a minute ago. They've also linked town with another player who's been linked with many clubs, and that is Ethan Nenwery. I cannot say his name, so I hope he doesn't sign. He is a very promising player. It's an interesting way to say it, because how it's like NW, but I'm sure a lot of people who are listening and watching this right now have probably heard of him. Of course, Arsenal starlet, end of the season on loan at Marseille. Didn't sound like it was that great there. But yeah, he burst on the scene, didn't he, AJ?
20:09Ross Halls:He's like a 15-year-old and he played a good amount of games for Arsenal, but he's sort of now probably on a new journey. And yeah, he's been linked to town and many others. Yeah, a real talent and someone who Arsenal hold in real high regard and Nicola Teter does as well. but the way that Arsenal are heading is similar to Brighton is Ethan Nguyenieri going to match that kind of ambition that path given the options that they've got on the right side to England internationals heading to the World Cup in Saka and who is the other one what's his name Nani Madweke and whether Nguyenieri will be able to match that is difficult and he needs to go and also play regular minutes as well.
21:00That loan spell that he had at Marseille is the first one he's had away from Arsenal in his career. And he's only actually ended up playing 34 games in the Premier League for Arsenal. Did he score against Town? Have I totally imagined that? He may have done. I can't remember what the top of the name is. I need to double-check that. I think he might have done. Was it in the 21s? or was it in... No, I'll tell you what, he did. He did. I've just had a look. Ethan Nguyenieri did actually score against Ipswich. It was in that 4-0 defeat to Portman Road. He scored the fourth goal. I was thinking, hang on, I'm sure he came on and did that.
21:42Yes, Ethan Nguyenieri did score at Portman Road in that 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in the last Premier League season. He was young then. He's 19 now. So still a really young player and still one that I think Arsenal want to keep hold of. Yet there has been interest and talk to that. We've had Team Talk again who are reporting that Como are discussing a potential move. Could be a loan, a straight loan, could be a loan with an option to buy, could be a permanent transfer. So options open there seemingly. And there are other clubs also looking at potential moves. Newcastle, Villa, Everton. and of course let's bunch them together again Coventry and Ipswich as well also Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig so again already a lot of alarm bells going with A.
22:31the source that isn't overly reliable and B. the fact that a lot of clubs have been linked I'm not too sure on how reliable this one is going to be and it would be an ambitious move for town for sure because of the reputation, because of the quality you know what a player like Nguyenieri would bring. Ultimately, he needs to go somewhere that he's going to play minutes. And it's going to be an interesting one to see whether that would take him away from Arsenal on a permanent basis to a team like Como who will be playing Champions League football, possibly with even Azzon up top, who knows? Or whether that might be somewhere else in the Premier League, whether that could be a loan, and what the best options for him would be.
23:12Verdict on this one, not sure on the source, and also don't think it's going to be an overly realistic move. for Ipswich to get done. I don't think he'll be heading to town or to Coventry. I think that there will be established Premier League sides who'd be happy to give him an opportunity to play regularly next season, either on loan or permanently. And I think that it might be one that Ipswich just fall short of.
23:35Ross Halls:Yeah. And as it stands, Oivana Zon is a Champions League striker. So we'll see what his future holds. Maybe that's something we can discuss in a later episode. but let's talk AJ about another sort of starlet back in the day, still young that is Harvey Elliott, a 23 year old of course at Liverpool but he's been on loan at Aston Villa a bit of a nightmare unfortunately there at Villa Park, although he's a Europa League winner with them they did have an option to buy but they didn't trigger it because he didn't make the amount of appearances he needed to make in town or among many clubs interested but he would cost town pretty penny if he did sign permanently, my friend.
24:17Yeah, so let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. This one's come from a journalist called Ekrem Konur, who's reporting via Sports Boom. Reliability scale probably about as low as you can get, unfortunately, in this case. Again, I don't want to disrespect anyone, but this is just how it has to be seen and looked at, and you've got to take the right view when it comes to these kind of rumours, because they will drown you otherwise with everything that can come out. But let's look at this rumour anyway. Claims Ipswich and Coventry are looking to invest in kind of top-level players. They have been linked with Harvey Elliott, as have RB Leipzig, who are supposedly at the front of the queue, with Sunderland and Leeds also in the mix.
25:04Yeah, it's talk of kind of the initial obligation to buy that would have happened if he played enough games was around the£30 million mark, I believe. Again, you're looking at kind of£25 to£30 million, according to the report, to sign him here. It didn't work Aston Villa. Unai Emery just didn't want him, essentially. And what that meant is that he got no opportunities because Villa knew that if he played 10 Premier League games, that would trigger a permanent move, and Villa didn't want that to happen, so Unai Emery didn't play him. So he's had the campaign from hell. And it'll be interesting to see now what happens with him because I don't think that he's got a future under Arnaz, Slaughter, Anfield.
25:45Will that be another loan move? Will that be a permanent move? That remains to be seen. The versatility option is obviously really good, especially from an Ipswich perspective because they're going to need a number 10 and a right winger, probably starters this season. Sorry, this summer going into next season. Again, like Nwaniere, I think this is going to be one that is going to be a little bit too ambitious for Ipswich. Big name, but also just with that source, don't think it is one that Ipswich are really going to be actively pursuing. And I think that he might end up at a team that have managed to establish themselves in the Premier League.
26:23But fun and exciting that we're back here and talking about Ipswich being linked with Ethan Lanieri and Harvey Elliott, isn't it? This is what promotion brings.

26:33Ross Halls:Yes, indeed. But yeah, I can just imagine there's just some reporters out there and other journalists and just general, they just wake up and go, oh, you know, today I'm going to go and pick that player and I'm going to link them with this club, this club, this club, this club. And they just hope it sticks. And sometimes it does stick. But then, you know, they take their credit. But yeah, we're going to get many more of these links, I'm sure, AJ, throughout the summer. and let's talk about a player that's not been linked to town but has probably going to have some Premier League interest and that is Jamie Vardy my friend we're going to discuss it on the podcast Peefee wants this to happen but I want to see your feelings on it just been playing in Italy got relegated from Serie A but he's a player that's scored many goals in the Premier League won the Premier League with Leicester what do you reckon?
27:24Ross Halls:he's 40 isn't he soon? or he is 40? 40 in January this is an interesting one he doesn't really age does he? he's ridiculous he's 39 years old he played 29 games in the Italian top flight started 24 of them and got 7 goals and 9 assists for a team that got relegated scored the winner against Udinese, scored in the 3-0 win against Pisa assist against Lazio, goal and assist against Cagliari, two goals against Bologna. He scored against Juventus. That's a hell of a stint that he's had out there. He's going to leave this summer following relegation. The rumours suggest that he still fancies himself as a Premier League player.
28:18And why not? Why not when you can deliver like this? yeah so it's a real credit to him two different ways I look at this one on the one hand I think that this would make a lot of sense if he does want to come back and play in the Premier League for Ipswich to be looking at a player like Jamie Vardy he's got the experience he's got kind of I wouldn't put him in the leadership category but when you've gone and done everything that he's done and you've got young players coming through and players who are going to really look up to him and what he was able to achieve. He's also done what a lot of other Ipswich players have done, which has come from about as low down as you can to then go and play in the Premier League to then win the Premier League.
29:02Obviously, no town players have gone and done that at this point. But that kind of journey has to be seen as an inspiration. So off the pitch, really good things. On the pitch, do I think he could handle the Premier League? Yes, absolutely. He was playing Premier League football, can we call it last season, season before? I don't really know what to call it, in 2024-25 anyway, with Leicester where he scored nine and assisted four. I think he could do that again, 100%. I really think that he can. The concerns have probably come a little bit more with how would he fit a Kieran McKenna team? How would that work stylistically?
29:39I'm not quite as sure as to whether that would be the right fit, knowing that the strikers at town need to be able to have a real physical presence, hold up the ball, bring others into play. We saw that from the lap. We saw that from George Hurst. But in every other regard, I think that ticks the box. And for a team that's going to need two strikers this summer, I think a real dominant, powerful, top-tier starter, you're also going to need cover. You're also going to need someone who, assuming that George Hurst stays, which I'd expect he will, can compete there. Jamie Vardy would be a really interesting option to have.
30:14And I like the idea of going down maybe a more experienced route as that other number nine. So you'd have your big marquee name to lead the line week in, week out. And then you've got George Hurst, who's done it before in the Premier League for Ipswich, and also someone who's got that experience and can bring stuff off the bench. You are on mute.
30:37Ross Halls:I was going so well. I thought I was segwaying perfectly there. But yeah, I was going to say, let us know your thoughts, your feelings, comments on Jamie Vardy. Just a random play just to chuck out there. I was also going to ask you about Callum Wilson, AJ, but you were saying West Ham could potentially sign him on a new contract. So, yeah. Yeah, we'll have to wait and see. But that's the kind of market that I see. Callum Wilson was someone who Ipswich had looked at in January as a potential option. Nuno did not fancy him at all. It's very clear that they're on very different pages at the moment or had them previously.
31:13And then he scored against Spurs, scored the winner there. and everything changed and he ended up staying. Has that relationship between Nuno and Wilson recovered? We know that Nuno is going to be staying with West Ham in the championship next season. That's been agreed. That's done and announced. Wilson's already made some jokes on match today. I think it might have been saying that Nuno doesn't like him. And I'm not sure. There's been an Instagram post that Wilson put out which hinted at this is the end of the road for him at West Ham. There have been reports that have come out saying that he might end up actually signing a new deal and staying in the Championship.
31:51So we'll have to wait and see. I'd still think, to be honest, despite what I told you about those rumours of a new deal, the likelihood is that he will leave West Ham. So yeah, that would be another one who'd fit the bill really nicely. The caveat being, if they're shopping in the same market as Coventry, he's a Coventry lad. He's a Coventry Boy, I think he came through the ranks there, so that might have a bit of an impact if they're in the same kind of market, but that's the fit for me, someone to compete with Hurst and whoever comes in as the starting number nine. Having that experience, Jamie Varley, Callum Wilson, someone like that, I think could be really beneficial.
32:30You talk about having leaders, but having experienced number nines who scored consistent goals in the Premier League, I think would be really, really beneficial for an Ipswich team that, despite having more experience than the other two promoted teams, I think could do with a little bit more, especially in the final third.
32:46Ross Halls:Yes, indeed. Well, we shall wait and see. Both of you enjoyed this latest transfer talk. A quick little update, AJ, on a town low knee, Dan Neal, of course, who was linked to Spain, Valencia, in the last transfer talk. But it sounds like Rangers are going to win the race to sign him. And it's not a bad move for him. I know you're going to Scotland, but that's where you can really push on and hopefully be part of a Rangers team. They just signed Laura Shankland, who's just been scoring goals for Hearts, and I'm sure they're trying to push to win our title there. But yeah, your thoughts on Daniel going to Rangers, potentially?
33:21Yeah, I think that wherever he ends up, I like the Valencia move. It sounds great, doesn't it, being able to go out there. I wouldn't be convinced that with the options that Valencia have and Javier Guerra, for example, who's a really talented young midfielder, assuming that he was to stay and then having other players there, How does he get into the team? Do you have another situation where you're on the fringes trying to get your way back into a new league, into a new culture? That's quite difficult. I think that Rangers feels like a more suitable destination for at least his career, even if it might not be as attractive as Valencia might be, with no disrespect to Glasgow.
34:01But yeah, you can't kind of disregard Scotland. I know that Rangers tried to sign Daniel in January, it didn't happen because Town had more money on the table for things like loan fees and covering wages. But now with Town probably out of the picture and looking for something different, a move to Rangers could make a lot of sense. They've seemingly offered him a kind of a leadership role. I don't think that would be the captain necessarily, but as kind of being part of the leadership group within Rangers, you'd be playing European football, you're challenging for a title, but the most important thing for Daniel, playing week in, week out, regular football, not doing the world of good, and then you're at a spot where if you can impress Ben in two, three years' time when you're 25, 26, however old, he'll be in that point.
34:46Then you can look at trying to kick on again and see if you can become that established Premier League player who's contributing regularly to a Premier League side. He's not there yet. I think that's quite clear. But this would be a pretty clever move for him if that's one that he ends up making.
35:02Ross Halls:As I said, he's on my ex-Blue spreadsheet and I'm ready to change his club because I don't know he's a free agent. Well, technically he's still got a contract with Sunderland, but it runs out on the 30th of June as contract runs out. But AJ, another transfer talk in the books. Final thoughts, any other business you want to check out there? We're going to hopefully see the retain list. Probably the next time we record a transfer talk, we'll record other videos prior to that, but we'll do transfer talk and, yeah, it'll be interesting. There'll be other players who maybe got released or other links.
35:34Ross Halls:But, yeah, any other business, my friend? No, no other business. Hoping we'll get the retainer list soon. So keeping an eye on that, probably do quite a lot of video deep dive stuff into that and who's going on, what's going to happen. Plenty of Britain stuff coming up. So I hope to tackle some of that next week and then we can kick on from there and some sexy transfer stuff. The transfer targets pieces are coming. I've already got one earmarked. I don't want to go too early on telling you guys what it's going to be, but you're not going to have to wait too long. I'd say around a fortnight is what I'll hint at with that one.
36:10So, yeah, keep your eyes peeled.
36:12Ross Halls:Nice one. I'm just going to double check. Of course, last summer, the first signing, I'm just going to quickly check. I think it was David Button, which was very sexy indeed. I'm just seeing what date that was when they first signed a player. I know that doesn't mean that's going to happen this summer, but it's good to know. 4th of July that was and that was the first signing of the summer so yeah I hope we haven't got to wait until July but the transfer window opens on the 15th of June I'm sure there's talks when I look at last Premier League season where was the first signing I think that was in June Amari Hutchison was 30th of June of course signing permanently from Chelsea then Ben Johnson was the day after the 1st of July and then a lot of ones in July Jacob Greaves, Liam Dillat was the 13th of July.
37:02Ross Halls:17th of July was Muric. And then a lot in August, of course, then players on loan. They're August as well. So yeah, we shall see AJ, my friend. Thanks for joining me. Thanks everyone for watching. Another Itris Town Transfer Talk. Hope you enjoy your weekend. The sun is shining. Enjoy it. And we'll be back next time to bring you more transfer rumours and links. See you next time. Bye for now.
