In short

The host argues that Donald Trump’s public statements and filings about the White House East Wing “drone port” and security features force his lawyers to disclose sensitive details, undermining national security ahead of a D.C. Federal Appellate Court oral argument.

Guest backgrounds

No guests are mentioned; the episode is presented by Michael Popok.

Key claims

Trump revealed “drone ports,” “drone kamikazes,” sniper-nest details, and other security features via social media/Truth Social and then his lawyers had to “double down” in court filings. The host also claims Trump’s side is trying to avoid congressional oversight while seeking large funding, raising “pay-to-play”/transactional-president concerns. He alleges Trump attacks Judge Leon to undermine the case.

Notable examples

Quotes about “highly sophisticated” drone defense; a brief describing “more than one” underground hospital/medical facilities; references to Dr. Oz and Trump taking dementia tests (MOCA) as evidence of mental decline; discussion of standing and Article I separation-of-powers arguments.

2:26Michael Popok:Doctors and lawyers can't stop Donald Trump from revealing national security secrets, doing it in social media posts, which then the lawyers have to double down on and reveal in court filings which undermine national security and the safety of foreign dignitaries who visit the White House. All because we have an oral argument on Friday in front of the D.C. Federal Appellate Court and a new filing by Donald Trump's lawyers who are playing catch-up because Donald Trump already revealed all the secret details about the drone port and the drone kamikazes that they worry about and dozens of other security features around the ballroom that should have never fallen into the hands of our enemies.

3:23Michael Popok:And while doctors around Donald Trump in his own administration, like Dr. Oz, have difficulty trying to explain in a public Q &A why the president has taken four dementia tests. I mean, we don't need a test where Donald Trump tries to figure out what's a giraffe and what's a rhinoceros, do we? I think we're watching dementia on full display. I defy you in the comments below to name for me one other president of the United States, dating back to Washington, who stood in front of the American people and or in a court filing and told our enemy about the deepest, darkest secrets of national security surrounding the White House or compromised the White House security the way that this president has.

4:16Michael Popok:And then you tell me whether he's fit for office. I'm Michael Popak. You're on the Midas Touch Network and on Legal AF. So I'm reading the reply brief that just got filed, posted up on Legal AF Substack for you to read for yourself. And I'm wondering, are they going to reveal and double down the lawyers and catalog all of the security features of the top secret military installation hospitals now plural, more than one hospital? Oh yeah, they are because they have to, because now they blame the case by why Donald Trump just a day or so ago, not only attacked the judge as undermining national security, going after the underlying trial judge, Judge Leon.

5:06Michael Popok:But in addition to that, they have to now explain why he's telling the world about drone ports and drone kamikazes and missile defense systems that are going to be used at the White House. Let me read to you from, and this is going to make your eyes pop out. And if you're a foreign dignitary thinking about visiting the White House, don't, because they effectively just said out loud in a court filing that Donald Trump approved that they can't keep you safe and that you are a target and a sitting duck. And this is on the first couple of pages of the filing. This is their final brief before oral argument on Friday.

5:49Michael Popok:For the East Wing project answers that critical security need and ensures that the president can fulfill his constitutional duties in a safe and heavily secured facility. Okay, continue. From the deeply ensconced bunker and its attended bomb shelters, more than one. Hospitals, more than one. Medical facilities and other national security functions. Now, are you keeping this list at home? And I mean the enemies of our country. Look at this list. I don't want people to say, Polpok, you're outing all of the security features. It's in the court filing. The highly sophisticated drone port mentioned twice in one page.

6:30Michael Popok:Sniper nest atop the ballroom. Check. The complex is a highly knitted unified hole. The project will finally allow presidents to safely host events like inaugurations, which, by the way, are always done outside. and state dinners with world leaders, including the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, or President Xi of China, which are currently held in plastic tents that cannot even protect highly esteemed guests from inclement weather, let alone high caliber bullets or kamikaze drones. You are a sitting duck if you visit the presidency and the White House over the next several years. But then the catalog goes on.

7:10Michael Popok:The heavy steel drone proof roof, missile resistant columns, bullet, ballistic, and blast-proof glass windows, military-grade and hermetically-sealed venting for air conditioning and heating, will safeguard the entire White House. Well, not anymore. And then, listen to this. They say the president recently felt compelled by this litigation, by this litigation or his failing mental state, to share publicly that the ballroom's rooftop will serve a crucial strategic function as a state-of-the-art drone port to protect Washington, D.C. from enemy attack and house the government sniper nest to give Secret Service and the military visibility.

7:50Michael Popok:In fact, here's the social media postings as reported by the press that they have to now cover up for in their filing. Well, there's a reason he had to reveal it, is there? Play the clip. These images to Truth Social, showing elaborate artistic renderings of soldiers, trucks and drones atop the new White House East Wing ballroom. On Sunday, Trump called the drone port perhaps the most sophisticated anywhere in the world. Adding, quote, with the advent of highly sophisticated and powerful modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C. with rifles and pistols alone. This is as the presidency and the handlers around him, including those that have medical licenses, medical licenses like Dr.

8:38Michael Popok:Oz, are like being caught in the crosshairs of questions about Donald Trump's mental state. Donald Trump is busy bragging that there's very few people that could pass the Montreal Comprehensive Assessment Test, the MOCA test, and get 30 out of 30 right. Really? It's a toddler level base. It's basically trying to determine whether you're a vertebrae or an invertebrae. It's basically determining whether you have a pulse or you don't have a pulse. Well, put it up on the screen again. Take the test for yourself. Rhinoceros, elephant, camel. Subtract seven from 100 and see how far you can get. Are you kidding?

9:26Michael Popok:Where do you live? Who are you? What is today's date and time and place? These are part of those 30 questions. Let me give you five concepts, words at the top of this test, And then 20 minutes later, I'll ask you to repeat them. Velvet, camera, woman, cup. Remember those words I gave you? Yes. Repeat them. I mean, this is the test. Here, watch Dr. Oz, who's a medical professional, struggle to answer those questions about Donald Trump's mental state. Play the clip.

10:28Yes, go ahead. at odd hours because something's on his mind and he wants to deal with it. Yes, in purple.

10:34Michael Popok:You know that time of year when you finally stop hibernating and start getting back out there? So as we get ready for the Friday oral argument, which we will live stream over on Legal AF YouTube channel, and I'll do the under the live tap and I'll do a pregame show. The problem with the argument, which is primarily for the Trump side, that the national trusts established by Congress doesn't have standing to bring the lawsuit, doesn't have the ability, the injury.

12:19Michael Popok:They keep calling the person that brought the case a stroller who walked by the White House and doesn't like the way it looks. That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about the separation of powers. We're talking about Congress's power under Article 1 over all federal property in national parks. They point to a statute, they call it the organic statute, about national parks. That, well, Trump can do anything with a national park and he can get the budget after. No, the problem is he's raised the$400 million or whatever it's going to be from corporate donors. And there you have the pay to play problem.

13:02Michael Popok:Or as the abacus briefs that have been filed have said that this is a transactional president, a presidency for sale. And we have to worry about that. But then, of course, nowhere in their filing is the fact that they've asked for a billion dollars from Congress to pay for the Golden Ballroom. So therefore, they want the money from Congress, but they don't want the oversight. And they continue to call the complete demolition and raising of the East Wing and all of its history, all of its first lady history, to just be an alteration or an improvement. He gets to do that without congressional oversight.

13:43Michael Popok:And that is a lie. Now, what Trump has tried to do, and we've been following it closely for the last 19 months, as soon as he came in, whether it was Stephen Miller, the Federalist Society, or Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation, it was, just say everything's a national security risk. And that will expand your powers to the outer boundaries of presidential power, making you almost unstoppable, as the Supreme Court has laid it out. But if you don't say it's national security, you'll be stuck. So everything now is a national security risk. It's not a ballroom anymore, you know, with ladies getting their high heels caught in the grass, which is what Donald Trump said in the past.

14:23Michael Popok:It's an integrated knitted hole with multiple hospitals underground. Yeah, if I was an 80-year-old that was taking four annual exams in a year and multiple dementia tests, then I'd want multiple hospitals below ground as well. So they leave out how much money, billion dollars, that they're asking for, including several hundred million for the building itself from Congress, yet they don't want oversight, which violates separation of powers, as has been noted by the briefing. And in particular, they have no problem exploiting when somebody takes a pot shot towards the White House, which everything is characterized as an assassination attempt.

15:08Michael Popok:That's the other tell for Donald Trump. Look, I'm not saying he hasn't been on the receiving end of more than usual of attempted shootings. However, not everything is an assassination attempt. If the shooter is a floor below when he's apprehended, I mean, is that a foiled assassination attempt? When the shooter is on a sidewalk out in front of the White House and he's shooting somewhere in the vicinity, is that an attempted attempt to murder the president, which is what they said in their filing? but they'll never let any potential tragedy go to waste in the Trump administration. And they will cite to it.

15:45Michael Popok:I mean, here they ignore telling the appellate court, which I'm sure is aware of it, of the Senate rejecting the ballroom funding. But right on page one, they basically amend the record, which they're not allowed to do, to talk about somebody trying to murder the president or an assassination attempt on the First Lady, the Vice President, and the President. I mean, they keep mentioning Melania as the First Lady as if she's in the White House. You can put it in notes. What was last time Melania was actually in the White House? As opposed to in Manhattan. As opposed to occasionally at Mar-a-Lago.

16:26Michael Popok:And other things. Rarely. Rarely. I don't think she was in the White House over Memorial Day weekend. That's a lie. But, you know, they'll write anything in their briefing. You can read it for yourself. Now, what I expect to happen with a three-judge panel, there's one Trumper on the panel, but then two people that aren't, is that there's going to be some very hard questions about standing, about the National Trust. I think they're going to find standing, and they're going to get to the merits. Can Trump, under his own theories, simply knock over the White House and start all over again by claiming national security?

17:03Michael Popok:You know, in other words, if you don't cut him off at the knees now, what's to stop him from knocking over the White House? That's not secure either to a bomb attack and kamikaze drones and missiles. You know, it isn't right now as we're recording the video. So there has to be limits under Article 1 in terms of Congress, in terms of funding, in terms of knowing who's doing the funding about whether there is corruption on full display related to the ballroom. These are the hard questions I'm sure we're going to hear from this appellate panel. Join us on Legal AF on should be about 10 a.m. Check the programming guide on Legal AF on under our live tab.

17:45Michael Popok:I'll do a pregame about a half an hour before. Give you the players who's going to be doing the argument, who's going to be on the panel and why that's probably good for the argument. as Donald Trump continues to bash the underlying judge, Judge Leon, as deranged. He's making the White House unsafe. And whenever he goes crazy before an oral argument, whether at the Supreme Court or the three-judge panel, you know he knows he's going to lose. And we'll keep an eye on that here on Legal AF and Midas Touch. Until my next report, this is Michael Popok.
