This is a show about AI, data science, machine learning. and I make it for people who want to actually understand how this stuff works, not just read the headlines. If you're a returning listener, hi, it's great to see you again. It's been a while and I'm really glad you're here. So why come back now? Well, it's an interesting time and honestly, I couldn't stay away.
0:47Katie Malone:AI, I don't know if you heard this. It's the new hotness. It's moving incredibly fast right now. and the reason that I did this podcast in the first place was because I really enjoy digging into how and why these systems work and I think especially with AI being where it is these days I think a lot of other people would enjoy that too if they have a good way in and I think it matters a lot right now given how much AI is reshaping how we work how we make decisions, how we get information. Understanding these core concepts is important, and it's super interesting. This show is for anyone who's curious.
1:29Katie Malone:If you're not technical, I want to give you real familiarity with the ideas that are underneath the buzzwords. Not dumbed down, but it is important to me that these concepts be accessible. On the other hand, if you're technical, I'm hoping you'll get something out of this too, that you'll stumble into new little corners that you didn't know about, but that are interesting. And if you're someone who's making decisions about AI, whether that's for your work, your team, your job, or just your life, I want to give you foundational knowledge that you can actually think with. A quick note for longtime listeners, my previous co-host, who you'll remember as Ben, goes by Phoebe now.
2:10Katie Malone:Phoebe will be co-hosting with me this time around. you're stuck with me, but she might pop in for an episode or two now and again. I'm really hoping. She and I are both very grateful for the many years that we did the show together. She's wishing us the best, and I'm genuinely looking forward to having her on for a future episode. So let's dive into the show. Well, almost. First episodes will drop February 22nd. You can find Linear Digressions wherever you get your podcasts. And as before, our website is LinearDigressions.com. It's been (*checks watch*) about five and a half years since we last talked. Fortunately nothing much has happened in the AI/data science world in that time. So let's just pick up where we left off, shall we?
