In short

Kevin Jonas discusses his debut single “Changing,” how the Jonas Brothers build success in the streaming/algorithm era, and how publicity, creativity, and personal routines (family, memorabilia, music-making, golf, animals, travel) shape his life. He also talks about acting/holiday film work, comedy timing, and what makes a song feel “familiar” yet still right.

Guests

Kevin Jonas (Jonas Brothers; solo debut single “Changing”). No other guest is clearly identified in the transcript.

Guest background

Pop musician and touring band member; has done TV/film work including a Disney Christmas movie; plays guitar (Les Pauls) and is a golfer; father of children aged 12 and 9; owns multiple dogs.

Key claims

Traditional media/satellite tours are a grind but can “move the needle.” Streaming success depends on monthly listeners and algorithm placement. Hits can come from unexpected fan/TikTok connections (e.g., “Backwards”). “Music that feels good” and simple, well-produced melodies can be best. Comedy works when jokes aren’t rushed.

Notable examples

White House performance for Obama’s daughters; “Sucker” and “Backwards” blowups; TikTok trends; Parks and Rec ice-rink moment; “I Think You Should Leave”; Les Paul “White Supreme”; favorite solo “Torn” (Natalie Imbruglia).

0:30Rob Lowe:We gather here tonight to bring women back to their rightful place.

0:35Kevin Jonas:The Testaments, a new Hulu original series from the executive producers of The Handmaid's Tale. It's easier to accept a story than believe that the people around you are monsters. The battle isn't over.

0:45Rob Lowe:There comes a time when you have to take action, when you have to choose your own destiny.

0:52Kevin Jonas:Watch the new Hulu original series, The Testaments, streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus for bundle subscribers. Terms apply. For sure they're in my life now. I never was. I never was.

1:03Rob Lowe:Yeah, we're dads, man. We're like, you know. Yeah.

1:22Hey, everybody.

1:23Rob Lowe:Welcome to Literally. Kevin Jonas is with us of Jonas Brothers fame. And of course, he's got his own debut single, Changing, which came out in November. Super talented. Great guy. I love me some Jonas Brothers. They're all awesome. They're awesome dudes. So talented and really smart. There's always a lot to talk about. Let's get to it.

1:55Rob Lowe:how many podcasts do you do on your your changing yeah so how many so i must be too many this must be towards the end of the big the big press right i just kind of do them as we go like the song came

2:08Kevin Jonas:out and was really pumped about it and it's weird like traditional media is gone which i love isn't And conversations with friends and people that you admire is like way easier to do interviews. And so, yeah, bring it on. That's kind of my mentality.

2:22Rob Lowe:Okay. When you first came up, give me like, because I, listen, I've been doing it a long time, even longer, and it is so different. When I first came up and a movie came out, instead of doing a press junket, you toured. Like you would go, yeah, I'm going to St. Louis and then I'm going to New York. then I'm going to go to Denver, then we've got a thing in Austin. Like, you schlepped all around the country. And then they started coming to – So what is your earliest memory of publicity?

2:54Kevin Jonas:Earliest memory was definitely, like, in-ear, listening to, like, morning news. What is that? Like, what are they called?

3:04Rob Lowe:Here, I'm going to take you back. You ready? Ready? Hey, hey, this is Bill. We're here at the Morning Zoo. Listen, Bill's getting ready. We're just going into commercial. Right. We'll be right back with you in 35 seconds. It's the morning zoo! It's the morning zoo! We got the Jonas Brothers coming on! Hey, here come the Jonas Brothers! Hey, man, how you doing? It's the morning zoo in Kentucky! What's going on?

3:24Kevin Jonas:Yes, exactly. And then we did all of the radio like that. And then you did all of the morning television, like localized news shows, which, you know, syndicated media, whatever the ones with it, you put the ear fob in and be in a room. And you're talking to Dan and Margaret in Illinois, and then they'd get your names wrong and half of them are drunk. And it's just, you know, it's fantastic. It's, I think - Satellite media tour. I was looking for the word. Thank you. Sorry. Okay. SOTs.

3:54Rob Lowe:So y 'all out there, satellite media tours, literally you go into a hermetically sealed, like a fucking sarcophagus. It's dark. It's black. There's a camera in front of you. There are no human beings. You're staring into the lens and you got your ear fob in and somebody's doing, all right, good to see you today. Thanks for coming in. We're going to do 35 interviews in the next hour and a half. And we're going to start off in San Francisco. So you've got about two minutes. And have a coffee and we'll see you in two minutes. And then, all right, we're ready to go to San Francisco. And it goes on and on and on.

4:27Rob Lowe:And it's forever.

4:28Kevin Jonas:And it's great. And it does a lot. It covers a lot of ground. But it's also like, I don't know. Like, does it help? Did it help? I don't know.

4:38Rob Lowe:Can I tell you something? My theory was those helped. My theory was those are kind of a slog, but my theory is that moved the needle more oftentimes than doing one of those bigger shows.

4:50Kevin Jonas:I actually kind of agree, right? It's grassroots. It's like you got to the people. And we were like, that's how we really got started as a band. We went everywhere. We played anything and everywhere that anyone would see us. I played balloon festivals to strawberry festivals to the White House. you know so it's like i've played it all and done it all and it's great but it's like we've done we've done the grind and i think that was weird for people to think like we came up like everyone like we were an overnight success that was 10 years in the making you know yeah and that's right as and musicians are i guess maybe different than you know actors or you know movie stars and like you know that role happens and it just shoots your career you get the next one in the next it always like it stacks right but like music similar you got the hit and then it rolls and then what's next But with a band that tours like we do, it was always like the live show.

5:40Kevin Jonas:So we built an audience before we ever like got dropped by Columbia and moved over to Disney. And it was great. It was just a grind.

5:47Rob Lowe:I remember the first time I met you guys was at the... Don't tell me. It's coming to me. It's funny because it doesn't mean anything anymore because the president canceled it and nobody does it. But at the time it was the White House Correspondents Dinner. Yeah. I remember meeting you guys. You guys were young pups. Oh, so young. but I remember it was like at the height of that era of your guys' career

6:10Kevin Jonas:yeah we were getting you know threatened by President Obama with you know drones it was it was funny

6:16Rob Lowe:wait I can't let that go by tell me all about that

6:19Kevin Jonas:so he in his speech he made a joke he's just like you know he was saying that like don't worry you know it's awesome Amelia the drone is supposed to be here and he's like don't forget I have drones and we were all like oh my god

6:29Rob Lowe:oh right the daughters yes

6:30Kevin Jonas:that's amazing and you know we had such a huge honor with them actually They're right there. They are. That's just us. And a picture. But they asked us to perform on the inauguration night in the White House to surprise the girls. They did a scavenger hunt for them. And the final room that they opened up, we were in there and we had acoustics and we played a song for the girls, like played a couple songs.

6:53Rob Lowe:That is the, look, I love White House stories. That's insane. So do you remember what room you were in?

7:01Kevin Jonas:The big, it's like the main ballroom,

7:03Rob Lowe:the big yellow room at the end yes yeah so it was pretty cool like and we gave him a guitar and

7:09Kevin Jonas:then nick went to see him at his final like night like their like their party their like you know thing that they hosted and he's like actually we were cleaning out the girls closets we found the guitar you gave him today and we're like that's just wild story it's like a wild thing because we we were able to play you know the easter egg roll we've done that and the correspondence there like we've done a bunch of different things and it's cool to think back on things like do you keep photos? Do you keep like memorabilia?

7:33Rob Lowe:For a long part of my career, I did when I first started. And then in the middle, I stopped and wished that I had. And now I'm keeping shit again.

7:45Kevin Jonas:That's great. I did almost the exact same thing. We moved into a new house. We literally moved across the street. There was one empty lot that's been sitting for so long. And I was like, I want that house. And we ended up figuring it out. And I built a house here. And I was like, I don't need anything in my office. I don't want any pictures or records. And my wife is like, you really like, probably should. It's pretty, pretty cool. And I'm like, yeah, I don't like love it. Like, it's like feels kind of like, look at me. But at the same time, it's like, I guess this is, you know, this is my journey.

8:14Rob Lowe:Can I tell you something? I love going to see other people's homes. And they have memory. Like, I do not in any way have I ever walked into a house and gone, And Jesus fucking Christ, you think he has enough pictures of himself? I'm like, fuck yeah, that's so sick. I love that. I mean, Arnold Schwarzenegger, old time friend. And I say this with love and not behind his back. I'm telling you there isn't a space in his house that doesn't have a picture of himself. That's great. And it's like, that is a war hall over the air. This is one of the first posters for the Terminator, when they didn't even have the right title yet.

8:54Rob Lowe:and everything has a story and it's great. Let me ask you this. I do do this though.

9:00Kevin Jonas:I do. If I add a photo of like my work life, I have to add a photo of my family. I have like a rule.

9:06Rob Lowe:Well, that's the other thing. I've got a lot of family. Yeah. That's the other thing. Because that's what makes me happy. Okay, let me ask you this. Are you, there are two types of people. They're the type of people who win the Grammy and put it on the mantle and then there's the other ones who love telling you That it's on the toilet. That it's on the toilet. Yeah, they can't wait to tell you about the award they won, but it's on the toilet. Right. Can't wait to tell you about it.

9:33Kevin Jonas:I have yet to win a Grammy, so I don't know what I would do with it yet. But I am... Now I display stuff. Like, it's displayed. But for the most part, I just... I think I would not put it on the toilet, and I wouldn't tell you about it. I actually have my Grammy nomination thing around a fake dog up there. So it's just like there. Like you wouldn't even know it if it was, you didn't know.

9:59Rob Lowe:When I won the E-Channel Golden Hangar for, I believe it was Best Outfit, I immediately, I put it in the living room. I was like, you know what? Everybody needs to know. I did it. I've arrived. I love that. The ones that are like,

10:14Kevin Jonas:are pretty big are like the Spotify, like billion stream ones. That's a good one. Those are pretty good.

10:20Rob Lowe:Okay, so they don't have... I remember going to a party once and they were presenting Madonna with a platinum album and people couldn't believe it. They were like, whoa, that's like seems kitschy and sweet, like, oh, now, right? Or is that or would that be a huge thing now?

10:40Kevin Jonas:It's pretty like it's hard. It's like weird. No one sells albums like certain albums, but like albums don't really like it's not like the way it used to be. It's just about streaming, right? It's about numbers and about your monthly. it's all now a game about monthly listeners. That's actually how this whole game works. Because if you have a numbers that are like low and monthly listeners, no matter what kind of placement you get on, on an algorithm that shows you music, you're not going to reach as many people. You're not going to have a big enough song. It's the same thing. It's like, you know, the larger the fish, the bigger, the, you know, they just keep getting bigger.

11:14Kevin Jonas:Right. And so they consume only so much space. And so every time you release a song, of course, they're going to promote that song because there's an audience waiting to listen. So, so how do you grow those numbers? And does that mean that you should collaborate with other artists that have large followings so that like you pull in some of those audiences? It's like, it's very, very, it's, it's, it's an interesting like thing to do. And a lot of people pay a lot of attention to it. And a lot of people like care a lot. I think for us, we've gotten to a place that we realized that like the hits will come, the hits will happen.

11:46Kevin Jonas:And you know, the things that like, well, you know, I will surprise you. Like we had a song this last year off this album that was not a single. We had like three or four things that we kind of put out with the album. And the song that came out was that like really like became the song on the last year for us was a song called Backwards that was not our plan. The fans just connected and made it a thing. And then some girl made a like trend on TikTok and then that song went and it's like, okay. So it's weird. It's like, sometimes you know, sometimes you don't. Like Sucker, we didn't know until the last minute.

12:17Kevin Jonas:But then once we knew, we knew. That song was like a cannon fire. It was like a once-in-a-lifetime moment thing.

12:26Rob Lowe:Do you remember your moment when you're like, oh, this worked. This one blew up.

12:32Kevin Jonas:That one was obvious because it was the band that was coming back together. We had all of our wives in the video at the time. It's just like culturally, it was a thing. So we had a cultural shift. I think that's how music works right now. Unless you can shift culture, you're not going to break through there's there's it used to be that like you know an album would come out and it's like once a year an artist would release an album and you'd have maybe on a given week like a couple hundred people would release music right now it's like there are like 60 000 maybe 100 000 songs released every day or every friday specifically it's like how do you how do you break through that you know it's like it's you have to have favor and you have to have a good team and you have to grab, you know, you have to have a lot of luck.

13:17And I think

13:18Kevin Jonas:there's a lot to be said about the like how the placements are for the algorithms for like Spotify and other streaming services. Like they definitely is like dictate who's going to succeed.

13:35Rob Lowe:Shop the Savor the Tropic sales event at Whole Foods Market from April 8th through the 21st. Their produce department is bursting with yellow sales signs on best of season fruits, like yellow mangoes and easy-to-pill sumo citrus. Savor the tropics and the savings now at Whole Foods Market.

14:53Rob Lowe:Well, look, we know that, like, even the LLMs, the large language models, are what they call weighted, which just means trained, and not manipulated, but built to value certain things over others. So do you ever go, that fucking algorithm, it hates us. or, boy, I'm sure glad the algorithm, we have, I'm sure glad that we, we have them in our pocket.

15:16Kevin Jonas:Yeah, there's times where it goes both ways. I think there's some things we're like, how did that not, how did we, how did that happen? How did that not work? And then there are times like that worked? Like, it's just, who knows, you know? And I think it's with anything, right? I'm sure you make a TV show or a movie and you're like, you get off set and you're like, I don't know, maybe, right? And you're like, I think it was good. And like, you know, you're in a vacuum. Like, I know we're in a vacuum. We made this Christmas film for Disney. And we finished the movie. We're like, I hope so. We'll see.

15:50Kevin Jonas:And we saw a cut in the middle of the summer. And we're like, oh, it's actually not bad. I didn't watch it. I was afraid to watch it. I was like anti-watching it. Do you like watching yourself?

16:01Rob Lowe:I'm agnostic at this point. Literally, I've done entire seasons of television. Seasons. Never seen them. and then I've also you know I'm in the editing room frame fucking as they call it on an edit so I can kind of go either way go both ways yeah

16:17Kevin Jonas:and that's cool I like that it doesn't really affect your work right I was like I don't know if this is something I want to watch I don't know if it's good I'm like I was really anxious about it so and I finally watched it with our girls because they're in it as well my wife and they they were like gut laughing I was like oh this might this might work and I will say that was the big surprise last year how well that was received with people and then homes and it's a holiday so you can definitely get away with a lot more. You know, a Christmas movie you can definitely get away with more. But like overall, I think the story was fun and the music was great and maybe we'll do another one.

16:51Kevin Jonas:We'll see.

16:52Rob Lowe:No, I'm, Christmas movies are great. I'm going to do one, I'm literally going to do one in three weeks. Oh my God. Where? Where are you filming? We're filming in Vancouver which means Of course. This is where everybody films but also it's like at least the snow will be real. Yeah. That makes a huge difference.

17:08Kevin Jonas:Oh, dude, I've done them. We were in Toronto. It was like, it was cold.

17:13Rob Lowe:Oh, I've done it. I did a fucking Christmas movie in New Orleans in the end of August once. New Orleans in August. We had to have like refrigerated capsules that you'd go and stand in and then come out and film and then go back to your refrigerated capsule. It was the worst.

17:33Kevin Jonas:Why would that, to make you look cold? To make your breath? No, no, just so you didn't pass out. Oh, because it was just so hot.

17:39Rob Lowe:It was, you know, 90 degrees and 90 % humidity.

17:43Kevin Jonas:Yeah, no. And you're in... Not like, that's not it.

17:46Rob Lowe:My thing for Christmas movies now is my part must not involve me wearing oven mitts like Dockers and I refuse to play the dad. Like I'd rather play the grandpa than the dad. You do have great hair though, so.

18:11Kevin Jonas:Well, thank you.

18:12Rob Lowe:You too.

18:13Kevin Jonas:Thanks. Appreciate it. You know, actually, I was watching your show, 9-1-1, and you got the job and you were talking about your hair regiment with the shots and stuff. And I was like, I wonder if that's real. I wonder if that's brought to you from his actual life. Because that always happens with writers, right? Like even with the Christmas movie, like they talk to you and you get to know them. And then they're like, and did you mention one thing? And they like build it into your character and you're like, you took liberties.

18:44Rob Lowe:But sometimes I'm like, that feels way too personal. Can't you tell? I can sometimes tell like that when I watch people's performance and I go, oh yeah, that's, that's them. So the answer to your question is yes, 100 % that the hair riff, because I have a thing of like, you know, um, um, you know, hair is forever. so like if they're rushing you around and like I don't like my fucking hair I'm like hey films come and go but hair is forever I love it you know it's a good one yeah and then on on Parks and Rec with Amy my favorite show of like all the time oh thank you

19:16Kevin Jonas:and I'm not just saying that like it truly is like I can quote it for days I've seen every episode many times you should do it again you should all come back and make another season

19:29Rob Lowe:well we all love each other so much I know that we could do. But my old literally was in this podcast, which comes from that, was from me saying that word, I guess, in a way that made the writers laugh. So that was all just because, I guess I either misused the word or pronounce it heavily, whatever. But that was from me, from them observing me talk.

19:50Kevin Jonas:Yeah. And that's part of your identity though. Like you're, but also like, if you didn't know any better, you're someone's watching like, oh, that's such a funny thing he does with his character because he's emphasizing it to a point. It's like, well, that's just you. It's like, oh, there you go. Turns out you're funny.

20:06Rob Lowe:Hyper enunciation. Thank you, brother.

20:08Kevin Jonas:What was your favorite episode to film? Like what's your favorite Parks and Rec episode?

20:11Rob Lowe:Okay, there's my favorite episode and then there's my favorite Parks and Rec moment. Now, my favorite Parks and Rec moment, I'm not even in. It is when they are walking across, trying to walk across the ice rink to that. Okay. to I want to what song it's some like lame big hit song and because the ice is so slippery and it takes them so long to walk the song has to keep playing and it just goes on and on and on and it's so funny and it's such a big bold comedy like that's the kind of stuff

20:49Kevin Jonas:that I feel like doesn't media today like in just like it's hard to take that big of a swing and take that much time

20:56Rob Lowe:yes Oh, that's the thing. Because it's one of those jokes that the whole point of it is that you can't believe how long it's taken.

21:03Kevin Jonas:And that, you have to get so many people's approval to do. Right? And I think that's hard. And I think sometimes shows that take that time, you know, like the episode in I Think You Should Leave, where he's in the, like, have you seen that show? Yeah, it's great. It's insane. But like when he's in the whole like costume and he's in the mall and he's like, I don't want to be here anymore. It's just like taking forever of him, like kind of like falling apart inside his body. Like it's so uncomfortable and so good. But if they would have rushed it, it would have fell flat. It's like it's just different.

21:36Rob Lowe:And also, as you know, humor is like if you watch a drama, everybody pretty much reacts to, you know, a Jeopardy situation. Totally. Character in Jeopardy in the same way. Comedy, not so. And there are people who, like, I think you should leave as a perfect example. I get so uncomfortable that I love it. I think it's brilliant and it's genius. But at the end of the day, for me, I don't come back to it because I don't, and it's also like punked. I don't like comedy around people like that, whatever that you would call that.

22:15Kevin Jonas:Like, yeah, taking a shot at someone. Yeah, yeah.

22:18Rob Lowe:But I love mean comedy. like I will watch roasts you guys did you guys get roasted ever?

22:23Kevin Jonas:yeah so we did a family roast we did it for we did it for Netflix it was kind of set a little differently they were trying to do something new and and it was it was weird and funny but it was also like the three of us so the idea was like a family was going to roast each other and have people come in and help and do it and it was it was I don't know if I'd do it again

22:41Rob Lowe:I I love mean comedy I love it I love mean comedy I don't know what that says about me It's a character defect.

22:50Kevin Jonas:No, I think that's good. I think there's something so, because there's a lot of truth in it, right? There's like, sometimes when you say the things that you really shouldn't say, it's like because you really want to and they're just right there and you're trying to be a nice polite person. It kind of like takes the humanity out of it. And I totally agree with you.

23:09Rob Lowe:And it has to be smart. Like low hanging.

23:12Kevin Jonas:Mean without being smart is just mean.

23:15Rob Lowe:No, it has to be super, super... Super smart. And the path of attack has to be unexpected. It's like, I saw there were a bunch of Kevin Hart short jokes on the Golden Globes. I was like, that's lame. Right. That's lame.

23:37Kevin Jonas:Right. Yeah, it's like, that's just like, it just doesn't move the needle for me either. It's like, okay, yeah, that's not smart enough.

23:46Rob Lowe:I saw you guys play what football game was it where I saw you guys play recently I want to say it was last year

23:54Kevin Jonas:a year ago Thanksgiving Day the Cowboys game yeah right yeah a couple years ago yeah it was great was it a couple years ago already yeah it's crazy

24:02Rob Lowe:fuck oh man I can't get it

24:04Kevin Jonas:I know I know I remember you're unless you were in Canada we played we played their Canadian football like like World Series not World Series whatever you call it

24:15Rob Lowe:The Grey Cup, I think it's called.

24:17Kevin Jonas:The Grey Cup. We did play the Grey Cup. So, halftime show. That's pretty heavy. Unless you're watching that.

24:23Rob Lowe:No, it was definitely, and I just remember you had a very beautiful guitar. It feels like it was like a Gretsch or a Gibson. It's a Les Paul, for sure.

24:32Kevin Jonas:So, I played pretty much primarily Les Pauls. And it was a, I think it was white. Was it green? I can't remember.

24:38Rob Lowe:Whatever it was, it was like, because I'm always like, do guitarists pick, obviously you pick your guitar, obviously for the tone, right? Yeah. But also, there's always this notion of that is so sick looking.

24:54Kevin Jonas:Yeah, that actually is my White Supreme. I bought it when I was 21 years old and it's been on the road with me since then.

25:02Rob Lowe:Really?

25:03Kevin Jonas:Yeah, it's my favorite guitar. I play it every single day. Every single time I play a show, I play that guitar.

25:08Rob Lowe:Have you seen a picture of Willie Nelson's guitar recently? Oh, you mean Trigger? Trigger. Trigger. Yeah. It's insane. It's Trigger. What do you think the most famous guitars are ever?

25:22Kevin Jonas:Trigger has to be number one. Trigger's got to be one of them. Of course, you've got Led Zeppelin stuff. You've got Van Halen. You know, you've... Oh, you know, ACDC. You know, the SG, the horns. Because it just embodied the band. It was so rock and roll.

25:43Rob Lowe:do you have a favorite this is a fucking impossible question but do you have a favorite lead guitar riff lead guitar riff from like a pop song my answer is super super like unexpected I mean super expected so much so that I've gone away from it in recent years and now I'm back to like I don't give a shit if every other person says this I think it's the best guitar solo ever you can probably guess it

26:13Kevin Jonas:I don't know what you're gonna say

26:15Rob Lowe:what would be the most obvious answer for all time throw down lead guitar solo it would be like Queen that's a good one Stairway to Heaven

26:26Kevin Jonas:okay yeah great perfect mine's different it's simple and that's why I think I love it it's Torm Natalie Imbruglia

26:36Rob Lowe:I love Torm

26:40Kevin Jonas:Because you can sing it. You love it. It lives inside your body.

26:43Rob Lowe:Why do I love that? I love that solo.

26:46Kevin Jonas:That's my favorite guitar solo.

26:49Rob Lowe:I love that song.

26:51Kevin Jonas:I love that video. Everything about that. I love everything about that. But that guitar solo. Think about it. You can like hear it. Yeah. Super melodic. Extremely. It's not trying to be overly complicated. It's exactly what it should be. I think why I like it is it's exactly what it should be for the song.

27:15Rob Lowe:Right.

27:18Kevin Jonas:Like, it didn't need something else. It just needed to be flowy.

27:23Rob Lowe:I always think about...

27:25Kevin Jonas:I need to do more research. I need to know who did that. Who wrote that song? Who played that song? Which guitarist? I want to know the history of that guitar line. I don't know it. I should find out.

27:34Rob Lowe:I feel like it was whoever produced that track. Yeah. You're probably right. I feel like I asked My Friend Is In Music when it came out who made that song because it was so, I loved it so much for a pop song. I love pop music.

27:58Kevin Jonas:Me too. Pop music's great. I love that it can transcend all genres. And it's just, I love country music. I love rap. I love hip-hop. I love it all. It's just, I love music.

30:03Rob Lowe:Who's your favorite collaborator? Yeah, who's your favorite collaborator? I know you... I mean, I don't know if... When I say collaborator, I want to expand it to the person you've played with. So you don't have to have written with them or recorded with them. I'm talking about like... I know you play with McCartney. Yeah. I mean, it was like... Once in a while. Once we got asked. I mean... Yeah, it was pretty special. Do you know what... You know what I'm a big fan of on TikTok? And by the way, I love TikTok. is the algorithm knows that I love isolated tracks. So I keep getting these. Interesting.

30:37Rob Lowe:I get like, my new one I'm obsessed with is McCartney's base on silly little love songs, isolated. Love. It's so fun. It's so great. They were and are, obviously. But like, I think they're space travelers.

31:00Kevin Jonas:not space time travelers i think i think they i think those guys were living in a different universe or from a different universe like they they made music that was so transcend like transcending it was insane but that movie yesterday where he's the only person that knows the music and i love the concept of the film but it is that there is something to be said about like the songs are good we always say this the song is good no matter what when you know you can like when it's just like bland or like full like there's there's something like we have a song that we wrote in this camp and we have not had it produced out yet because we are like we are so unbelievably excited about this song that we're like we have to find the right exact person that has to help us bring it to life wow holy shit it's like it's so important it's going to be so important to us this song i just know it we all know it everyone played it for it's like yeah but like the problem is it has to be extremely simple so finding the person that can make this to tell the story in a simple fit way like i will say to answer your first question jason evigan and team who worked with me on mark schick who worked with me on the song changing those guys could do something like this make something so simple so great and they did with this song with me.

32:21Kevin Jonas:And I, I wanted to make music for a very long time. I've recorded other songs and never put anything out. I just didn't feel like I, it was right. Didn't feel like my voice was right. Didn't feel like the song was right. Didn't feel like it was enough. Right. That was all on me. Also, whether it was doubt or just excellence, actually, I actually go that route. Like, I just like, don't think it was where it should have been yet. And they sent me the song. I wrote him a message after the Christmas film. It was like, do you have any songs that maybe you think that would be good for me he responded six months later he did not respond to me six months later he wrote me and said i think i found it and sent me a song and wow that was the song and this is the song and this is the song um and the minute i heard the song i went this is like knew it instant like i actually was like i think i've like lived this song like this is my song so there are times where you just know but going back to the beatles being from a different universe in this movie yesterday.

33:15Kevin Jonas:Like the idea that the songs are that good, no matter who sings them or what happens is totally true. I believe that. So when I find this producer that we love, I'll let you know. I'm, I cannot, I want to hear this song so badly.

33:29Rob Lowe:I mean, here's what my imagination just hit me with. It's like sting getting every breath you take where you go, it's an instant, it feels like an in the American canon that it's existed forever and it will be

33:43Kevin Jonas:yeah it actually feels like a song that you just be like oh yeah this already existed you know what I mean yes I do and I think that that's something with a song I think that's my big thing with music when I feel like I know it's when a song feels like it already it's been around forever if you feel like you already know it not because it sounds like another song it's because it sounds like something that's familiar to you. But I also like being challenged.

34:16Rob Lowe:Here's the thing. One of my good friends is David Foster, who's obviously a great... Okay. David's the best. I love him. I mean, he's amazing. And he does amazing changes. And he's just an amazing... But he also laughs at the fact that I love really simple music sometimes. And I'll be like, why do you roll your eyes at this? And he goes, it's just, I just know it's coming.

34:41Kevin Jonas:And there is something about that, right? There's not, there's not the surprise.

34:46Rob Lowe:But I feel like I've, to me, what's the, the only surprise I want, the only surprise I want is a beautiful change. Right?

34:56Kevin Jonas:Okay.

34:57Rob Lowe:Yeah. I don't need some discordant key, whatever, that like I want, like I hate to say it, I wish it makes me feel unevolved, but I don't really get jazz. And I know that that's like, I wouldn't say -

35:14Kevin Jonas:I think it has a time and place and I think it's an incredibly important thing. I am not that musician. Like I am self-taught. I cannot read sheet music. Like I can, like if you give me a sheet, like notes on like the lines and like the staff and they'll cannot do it. You know, just wasn't how I grew up and how I wasn't, I probably should have. Right. It's my craft, but it's not too late. Like my daughter brought home her recorder homework and she had to like write out the notes and she's like, dad, can you help me with this please? I was just like, sure. All right. Chat to you. Oh my God. Like I, I don't know.

35:46Kevin Jonas:But of course to her, like I have to know this. Duh. Right. And I was like, actually, I don't know this. I can work with you to figure it out. And then once I figured it out, I'm like, okay, I got it. But like, it's because I know everything around it. I just don't have it implemented where I could like look at a sheet music and just like start playing. Like that's just not, it's just not how my brain is right now. But giving a sheet music with like the chords and the tabs and whatever it is, like sure, I could play whatever you want to play. But like, it's different, you know?

36:16Rob Lowe:Oh, it's, I mean, my youngest son can do it, but he learned it as a little kid. I think you have to learn, you have to learn it as a little kid. You have to learn it like your multiplication tables, I think.

36:27Kevin Jonas:I think so too. I think it's like math facts. You just got to know. You just got to be like, cool, I see that in that location. That means it's a G. That means it's a G sharp biker. But I think jazz is really complicated. And when you can do it and you can do it well, I think you're living in a different plane, for sure. But I don't know. I feel like there's something to be said about music that just feels good too. sometimes my worst kind of thing is like music that's trying to be music that it's not ooh yeah like trying to be cool, trying to be like overly stimulated here's my thing, I love

37:06Rob Lowe:real fucking no fooling gnarly hip hop what I don't love is the pop iteration of that

37:21Kevin Jonas:I don't disagree I'm going to interrupt you for one second I'm literally looking out a window because I just wanted to have light there is a stray dog walking around in that neighborhood across the street Jeremy do you think you want to help it out? What do you got a stray what? I could see a dog walking around I know our neighborhood it's not a dog that belongs in this area and is walking aimlessly looking for something

37:44Rob Lowe:You're going to send somebody to rescue that dog I'm going to send somebody to rescue that dog

37:47Kevin Jonas:and bring him into the podcast Bring it to the podcast. Maybe he has something to say. But yeah, no, I was like, I didn't mean to be distracted, but I'm like, there's something wrong. No, no. That's not supposed to be the case.

37:58Rob Lowe:Do you have animals? I have six dogs. What? I have a lot of dogs, man. A lot of dogs.

38:05Kevin Jonas:Wow.

38:06Rob Lowe:We focus on Jack Russells, who are insane. They're insane dogs.

38:11Kevin Jonas:Yeah. We focus on Morky's, Maltese Yorkie mixes.

38:15Rob Lowe:Yeah.

38:16Kevin Jonas:Very, very loud yapper dogs. adorable.

38:19Rob Lowe:My gosh. I've got a German short-haired pointer. Wow. Got a mutt. Yeah, it's, I think it's because my kids are out of the house. So my wife and I are like becoming, like those are the kids, those are for sure our kids now. For sure. Like, are we going to take them on vacation? Which one goes on vacation? It's like the same conversations we had about our actual children. We have now, like where can we, where would they like to go on vacation? are they going to come? Is it too much of a hassle? When's a good time? I'm having such a hard time this year.

38:54Kevin Jonas:Like, I'm very much like trying to figure out vacations this year, right now. Because if you don't do it now, like, you're done.

39:01Rob Lowe:Where do you, do you like mountains? Do you like deserts? Do you like big cities?

39:05Kevin Jonas:I feel like beaches for the kids and my wife, like, is it, right? To start. We did the boat thing last year, not to be bougie, but we did the boat thing last year for the first time. And that was in the Bahamas and Exumas. and it was the greatest trip of all time. It was like, it was just unbelievably nice. And it was like great because it was just like really time together. Yeah. I loved. Beyond that, I hadn't done Europe with the family. Ooh. How old are the kids? Me and my wife have done it. How old are the kids? The girls, they are 12 and nine.

39:39Rob Lowe:Okay. They're just old enough to like, like a good Parisian gallivant.

39:45Kevin Jonas:I feel like we could do it and I would like go through Portugal to start and then go to like hop over to Italy and then maybe end in Greece because I want to do Greece.

39:54Rob Lowe:Yeah, Greece is beautiful. I've never been. It's beautiful. It took me forever to get there too, but it's as advertised. It's one of those places you go, oh, I get it.

40:03Kevin Jonas:It is what it is. It is what it is.

40:05Rob Lowe:Yeah, the food's great.

40:07Kevin Jonas:Yeah, so I don't know. I'm just having a back and forth because, you know, the kids don't want to travel that far. They also want to go that far, but then you have grandparents that would be involved and it's like, how long do they want? It's like, so it's a mess. And of course I'm in charge. And I get yelled at because I'm not making a decision. What about Africa? That's too far for them right now. I would do it tomorrow.

40:28Rob Lowe:Oh, you have to do it. Have to. Have to 100%. It's the best trip ever. The family safari is the trip of, there's no other trip.

40:42Kevin Jonas:Really? Like hands down?

40:44Rob Lowe:Hands down.

40:45Kevin Jonas:Where did you go?

40:46Rob Lowe:I've done it twice with them. We did Tanzania. Sick. I was shooting a Christmas movie in South Africa. So we did the Kruger and in South Africa. And we've done Kenya as well. Wow. It's unbelievable. And it's just, there's nothing like being there alone with your family. Like alone. And doing what they call a fly camp, which is literally where they go we're setting up a camp here like it's not a camp that people go to it's like it's like right like boom and there's no one no one there and like crazy certain people are scared like my my son john owen's super like scared of that stuff my oldest son matthew is like down to clown he's like i hope there's a lion and incursion in the camp tonight like it's you know It's got that adrenaline underneath it and the beauty of it.

41:45Rob Lowe:It's so great.

41:46Kevin Jonas:There's just something about it. I've always wanted to do it. My brothers have done it and I'm dying to go.

41:52Rob Lowe:So, got to do it. That's a good one. What does the rest of your year look like?

41:57Kevin Jonas:You know, we just got off like one of the biggest years of my like entire life.

42:01Rob Lowe:Wasn't your tour like expanded? Yeah. To all these dates?

42:04Kevin Jonas:We were supposed to be like 30 something shows. Went to 76 shows. Jesus Christ.

42:08Rob Lowe:How do you like The Road? Do you still like The Road?

42:10Kevin Jonas:I do. I do. I went, not to be that like, look what I just did. But like, I flew home every day off.

42:20Rob Lowe:What?

42:21Kevin Jonas:Yeah. So I would fly home regardless of where we were, if I could, except for two days. Two of the, it was just too far. We were on the West Coast, like up in Seattle. And like, it was just, by the time I did it, it was like.

42:35Rob Lowe:You're back on a plane or whatever.

42:36Kevin Jonas:It doesn't, it was like, I would be on the ground for three hours. It was like there in Vancouver and some other place.

42:40Rob Lowe:Yeah.

42:41Kevin Jonas:But I did, I pretty much got home. Like if I had a day off instead of just like posting up or whatever, like I flew home.

42:48Rob Lowe:That's great commitment. You're, you're, it will pay off with your kids.

42:52Kevin Jonas:I think so. It also was like, I also realized that maybe it was a little like too much, not me, but it was like a little bit too, like always in and out to the point where like it became where couldn't get settled in too. There's like this weird balance. I've been working on it with my therapist, how to reacclimate to normal life. oh yeah it's a real thing do you have a come down like what's your process after a film being away like getting back into the home rhythm i just like you come in living differently yeah for six months and then you're like oh my girls are young so that's like dropping them off at school now and

43:27Rob Lowe:doing this and doing that it's like what does this all mean i have it i just came off of it i did four movies this year, back to back, and then was home and then into the holidays. And so I like, and I was talking to somebody about it. It's like, let yourself be tired, quote unquote, for no reason. I'm like, well, the reason is I've emotionally drained. Right. And or depressed for no reason. Yeah. And, and have like feelings that don't fit. Like, like, why am I, what the fuck's right? Like, I slept plenty yesterday. Why am I tired today? Or why do all I want to do is work out? Or why do I like.

44:12Kevin Jonas:That's the one for me. I get back home and all I want to do is like just. Crush the gym. Immediately go to like run for 30 minutes, go lift, go to the sauna. It's like, I'm like in this, my wife's like, why are you like trying to prove a point or something? I'm like, no, I think it's my only way of like feeling busy without being busy.

44:32Rob Lowe:Yes, 100%. I go to sleep thinking about, okay, I'm going to wake up at this time. Then I think I'm going to do legs tomorrow. And then maybe I'll do the run. No, I shouldn't do the run. I don't want to do the cold plunge before I do the weights for sure. And maybe I'll golf. Maybe I'll golf. Let me get a late tee time. And then that's what my head does.

44:50Kevin Jonas:If I could, we're in Jersey and it's cold. It got very cold. It's been a cold winter this year. I will say I need to be able to golf more often. I love it so much. and it is we have a golf simulator thank god you know full swing yeah hooked me up they did a they

45:09Rob Lowe:did me did me right full swing's great i have i have one but it's not hooked up yeah oh it is changes everything but you know what my favorite thing to do in the world is my daughter is

45:20Kevin Jonas:obsessed santa brought her a brand new pair of pxg golf clubs for christmas yes yes um yeah um and And she's like pretty good. Like she's got like a real like swing on her. And I'm going to like very much like lean into it myself to this, right? Like lean in. Because it's rare when you find the thing that one, you're not pushing them to do. And two, they absolutely love.

45:48Rob Lowe:And as you know.

45:49Kevin Jonas:And they're also kind of like talented at.

45:51Rob Lowe:And as you know, there's nothing better than if you learned that golf swing is a child. Nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.

45:58Kevin Jonas:I wish I would have like gone with Nick to do it. Cause he golfed from an earlier age. And I just wasn't, I was like teenager drive. Like I just wasn't interested.

46:06Rob Lowe:He's a stick, right? What's, what, what do you think his index is? He's a six. He's a six. Yeah.

46:12Kevin Jonas:When he plays, like he, when he, cause like, you know, yeah, I think he's going back to back movies right now. Um, coming off the holidays. He was at the Globes last night with his wife. He's going straight into something. He had his album coming out in February, his first solo album. So like they know how to stay busy, right? Yeah. He doesn't stop. So when he can play, he's a six, right? He's a member out there in LA. I'm a member here in two places in Jersey, which I love. Golf here in the East Coast, that time of year is like unmatched in my opinion.

46:42Rob Lowe:100%.

46:43Kevin Jonas:But you get to golf all the time.

46:46Rob Lowe:All the time while golfing today. Yeah. I love it so much. And it's the only thing I also love to practice. Love it. Love it. Love to practice.

46:58Kevin Jonas:I'm so happy that the full swing guys like hooked it up downstairs. And but like my favorite thing to do is like I was there on there with her last night. She was just like she was I was watching the game on the other TV. Well, on this big screen, I'm watching her correct her swing and be like, oh, man, I really got to square this up. It's my my club face is just too open. Oh, it's a dream. My club face is just a little too open. Dad, what do you think? Am I going out to in into out? Like what's happening? I'm like, watch the video. So we like pull it up. I'm like showing her the video. Like it's the greatest thing.

47:27Kevin Jonas:It's insane.

47:28Rob Lowe:It's insane. By the way, and PXGs are the best. They're the best.

47:31Kevin Jonas:Oh my God. We're so, such huge fans and absolutely love them and we're actually members over at Scottsdale National. Oh, I've never played.

47:38Rob Lowe:I never played it. I get invited.

47:40Kevin Jonas:I know. You have an open invitation with me to come for a weekend. Next time I go, you're coming if you're not on a movie.

47:47Rob Lowe:Everybody says it's the greatest. And I've had Parsons on the podcast. I interviewed him on this podcast.

47:54Kevin Jonas:How incredibly cool is he? It's amazing. guys have you looked him and renee are just they're unbelievable incredible i'm obsessed with them i think they're the coolest couple in the world and he is so interesting so interesting his book is amazing oh my god it's incredible and he's just a good guy and like every time i see him he's so welcoming and this place is for people everyone listening it's a very special golf club that was built to be like this guy's mr bob parsons backyard but it's really the scott's national but txg it's like it's a whole like culture that like shake it's a whole cultural shake up.

48:27Kevin Jonas:I'm very honored to be invited to be a part of this club. Have you played Augusta? I have not. Nick did. The Monday after the Masters.

48:39Rob Lowe:That's insane.

48:40Kevin Jonas:I know.

48:41Rob Lowe:They leave the pins. No. Yeah. I can't even imagine what that's like.

48:49Kevin Jonas:I would shoot like 200.

48:51Rob Lowe:Oh yeah. For sure.

48:52Kevin Jonas:I'm like an 11, 13, somewhere in there. Same. Yeah. Same. My gin doesn't like update enough, I feel like. I feel like I have, I put too many bad scores in for it not to update to be a higher number at this point.

49:04Rob Lowe:Yeah, it's funny. I'm a...

49:07Kevin Jonas:But every time I have one good number, it's like...

49:10Rob Lowe:Yeah, I feel like, it's like going back to talking about the algorithm. I'm like, I'm not sure the gin algorithm is really understanding my scores.

49:21Kevin Jonas:I think... Correct. I agree with you on that. Someone's got to do a deep dive on it.

49:25Rob Lowe:Yeah, I think it's all full of shit. I'm currently, I'm currently an 11. I've been as low, been as low as a nine. And I'm sort of parked unless I really, I'm sort of, I know I'm going to shoot in the 80s. The question is, am I going to flirt with a round in the 70s and maybe get it one or a couple times?

49:45Kevin Jonas:Or are you going to maybe break 90?

49:47Rob Lowe:That's where I am.

49:48Kevin Jonas:And honestly, we're the exact same player though. We'd be the exact same index. I'm at 11.6. Like I'm straight like and half the time I'm 80, 88. Yep. And there are days where I'm like, 82. Like if I would have just made that put.

50:04Rob Lowe:Same. And here's the good news. This is what it's for me when I'm quote unquote not playing. Like this is.

50:12Kevin Jonas:That's the problem. I'm pretty high when I don't be when I'm not consistent through the winter. So that's why I wanted that full swing. Yeah, because you don't have the winter.

50:19Rob Lowe:See, I that's the thing is I can I've got the weather. So that is that that would be the difference. If I literally could not play because of weather, I think that would probably do because I could play all year long.

50:29Kevin Jonas:Yeah, see, I think that I have moments, obviously now, it's the first time, we just moved in in April, so now I have a winter with a simulator, which is going to change everything. I'm going to be so much better. No, what's going to happen is I'm going to leave when I first finally play this year.

50:43Rob Lowe:Oh, here's what you need to do.

50:44Kevin Jonas:I'm going to get so upset because I'm not performing great.

50:47Rob Lowe:So you work for Netflix all the time. last year I won the first Netflix golf tournament oh my god so they're doing it again this year you have to make sure you plan it

51:02Kevin Jonas:when is it? where is it?

51:04Rob Lowe:it's at Riv oh it's at Riviera

51:08Kevin Jonas:Riv's amazing it's just so long

51:09Rob Lowe:so far and it's it's a best ball oh okay and yeah I'm not winning anything on my own

51:17Kevin Jonas:that helps that yeah

51:19Rob Lowe:and my partner I just rode my partner the whole time. But we won it, and we're defending champions this year. So it's during the Netflix is a joke. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That, like, week period that they have over there. Whoa.

51:36Kevin Jonas:Somebody, please. I mean, everybody.

51:37Rob Lowe:Okay, we're going to make sure. But have your people, like, come on, man.

51:40Kevin Jonas:Yeah, reach out. That'd be great. That'd be so fun. I would love that.

51:42Rob Lowe:It's really fun. And, like, really cool people play it. Really, like, it's hilarious and unusual people.

51:48Kevin Jonas:hole and it was like love and i like things like that if it's a best ball because honestly all you need is a couple good swings in the day like you don't have to be great yeah you feel like you contributed hit a putt you know yeah play your drive over you have a random drive that's like whoa where did that come from you know that's my big thing what's your big thing in your game now we're just a golf podcast at this point no what's your big what's your big hang up in your game.

52:11Rob Lowe:My big hang up is getting on greens and regulation.

52:15Kevin Jonas:Okay.

52:16Rob Lowe:So, so, so my, my hang up is like, I've got 170 to the green and getting on that. When I get on that green, I'm like, Oh, like when you, when you, when you're putting for birdie. Yeah.

52:29Kevin Jonas:My big thing is off the tee. My irons are my like, definitely. I don't know why I have like consistency. I know what I'm going to do whatever for the most part, you know, golf is not, I'm never perfect, but like I have more confidence in that. And then, but the long stick to drive, like I could either be incredible or absolutely terrible. And I've worked so hard at it and it's just something about it. My brain breaks.

52:55Rob Lowe:Uh, I, I, and I'm just to the listeners, I promise we'll stop talking about golf in a minute. We really will. But I, I had that happen to me for the last nine months off the tee. I had it happen to me. And you know what I did? You know what I did? I had every golf player. But not enough. No, I hit the throw. I've done it. Every golf coach, every use the three wood, use it. I stopped thinking. I stopped practicing. And I went up there and thought, I'm a tennis player. I'm going to use my wrists. And I'm just going to risk this fucking thing out there. And the next thing you know, it was back.

53:32Kevin Jonas:There you go.

53:33Rob Lowe:Loosey goosey.

53:33Kevin Jonas:Yeah, I definitely have anticipatory anxiety about walking up to the tee box or anxiety in general. But it's a thing. But I'm working through it.

53:44Rob Lowe:We got to do it. We got to let's make sure we get on each other's teams. I don't think it let two people. I think you have to work with I think it's a pro. You have a pro.

53:52Kevin Jonas:Pro and yeah.

53:54Rob Lowe:Yeah, my son and I won it. That's so cool. Well, listen, this was great. I'm excited for you to have a little bit of time off. Yeah. Be with the kids. I'm also excited to get back to work.

54:08Kevin Jonas:I'm like heading to LA tomorrow, you know?

54:10Rob Lowe:See, you're not. Who are you kidding, man? You're not.

54:12Kevin Jonas:Yeah. I'm taking meetings tomorrow because, you know, whatever. Because you do.

54:16Rob Lowe:You're grinding. You're flying across the country.

54:19Kevin Jonas:Yeah. That to me is like my commute. So it's like weird. It's like everyone. Have you ever talked to people like that? And they're just like, I don't know how you guys travel like that. But I was like, what do you mean? It's just what we do. It's just like at a certain point, it's just how it is.

54:32Rob Lowe:It's 100%. I mean, I live in Santa Barbara and people in LA, I'll have like a late dinner. And they're like, okay, I gotta go. You're not driving back. And always they would say, you're not driving back to Santa Barbara tonight, right? It's interesting. They don't say, are you? It's always, you're not. That's unimaginable. I'm like, yeah. I didn't know how you do it. And it's just what I do. Right.

54:55Kevin Jonas:You just do it. I'm going to go see my brother's show in the city tonight because he has a concert, like an independent show Joe does. And great. He's like, are you going to stay in the city after the show? You know, whatever. I'm like, no, I'm going to go home to New Jersey. He's like, really? Yeah. Like, it's an hour.

55:12Rob Lowe:45 minutes. What are you talking about? Waking up in your own bed. It's unlike anything else.

55:18Kevin Jonas:I think I've hit that point in my life now.

55:20Rob Lowe:For me, it's like, it's worth, I think, up to five hours of travel. I agree. I feel like that might be the thing. I mean, if it's like, I'm not, I'm not crazy. No, you're not wrong.

55:35Kevin Jonas:Actually, just, this is really interesting because you just said that because I think I just hit this point in my life because we finished our tour on the 22nd of December and we were all the way in Brooklyn at Barclays and we had a little after party thing. It was getting late. It was nice. We were with everyone. I was like, go to Joe's house because he's lives in Brooklyn. And I'm like, here's a house there. And he's like, you know, come over from Nightcap. And we're like, I had a hotel room. I did just in case you know whatever at the hotel there and I was like I looked at my wife and she goes wanna go home I was like let's go home and waking up that next morning not having to like get this is like obviously very very awesome problems but like waking up in the hotel and be like alright get all our stuff together now go like take the commute home are we gonna eat before we go

56:24Rob Lowe:should we grab something to eat before we go yeah exactly and all of a sudden you're home at 4 o 'clock

56:28Kevin Jonas:and it's like and yes those days are important and taking that time is important. But the fact that I woke up at home, I was like, everything about this is perfect.

56:38Rob Lowe:I'd rather wake up with three hours of sleep at home than have gone to Joe's apartment and gotten seven hours of sleep.

56:47Kevin Jonas:Correct. I'm for sure there in my life now. I never was. I never was.

56:53Rob Lowe:Yeah, we're dads, man. We're like, you know.

56:56Kevin Jonas:Yeah, it was. Even that way, like the end of New Year's Eve, we performed in Miami and we were all hanging out. And I looked at the clock. I'm like, you know, if I leave now, it's definitely going to be like not as bad in the morning. You know, like I never used to think about it like that.

57:10Rob Lowe:That's where I'm at. We're approaching old people.

57:14Kevin Jonas:I'm damn near 40.

57:15Rob Lowe:Yeah. I mean, I don't even want to tell you how old I am. It's a lot older.

57:19Kevin Jonas:You look 47.

57:22Rob Lowe:It's 62. But who's counting?

57:25Kevin Jonas:You definitely don't. Like, not that you look, anyone looks an age, but like you look like 50. I would go 54. Well, thank you. I'll take that. Like for real though, like a true like 50s.

57:37Rob Lowe:I will take that and run to the cold plunge and run to the infrared sauna and run to the PXG golf simulator. Love it. With all that. Brother, thank you. That was super fun. Thank you so much for taking the time. It was great.

57:59Rob Lowe:I'm so sorry for the amount of golf stuff there, but I'm willing to bet some of you have golfers in your lives or some of you have gotten rid of the golfers in your lives for just that kind of conversation that we had. But the rest of it, I thought was pretty damn cool. So you're welcome. And I'll see you next week right here on Literally. And thanks to Kevin. Had a blast. See you next time.
