Now, just over there, the USA got their second win of the World Cup to secure their place in the knockouts. We're going to talk about that, but also four more games coming thick and fast today. Germany and Japan are in action. This is your ultimate guide to day 10 of the World Cup.

2:29Hello, everybody. Welcome back. Welcome to Morning Cup Update, built by the Home Depot. The Home Depot is your winning assist to host the ultimate watch party with fast free delivery to get your backyard match day ready. Subject to availability. What a day. It was here in Seattle, by the way, as the USMNT played against Australia. It all started with the Men in Blazers live show at Pier 58. DeAndre Yedlin, John Green and Beast Mode himself, Marshawn Lynch, joined the guys to get everybody warmed up. Then, Seattle showed us why it's got a reputation for being a proper soccer city. The march to the match was pretty incredible.

3:08Thousands of USMNT fans walked from Pier 58 all the way to Seattle Stadium. Flares, drums, eagles and an abundance of red, white and blue absolutely everywhere. If anyone tries to tell you that America isn't a football country, you've just got to show them this footage because it truly felt like a seismic moment for the beautiful game in this nation. It really did. And that incredible atmosphere continued inside the stadium too, as Rory Smith explained on the nightclub. The national anthem was incredible. And then the noise once the game started, it did feel... I was sat with some commentators from the BBC who are used to kind of big European atmospheres and even they were kind of covering their ears as you're getting it from the stadium and through the feed.

3:52It was genuinely deafening. I was very lucky to be there as well, and I can totally back him up on that atmosphere. It was incredible, so loud. And of course, it always helps when the team does the business on the pitch as well. Flo Balogun set up the opening goal, which was once again an own goal, this time off the foot of Cameron Burgess. These were the celebrations from one of the many viewing parties here in Seattle.

4:25Big vibes at watch parties all over the country. And could Flo Balogun be the first US player to receive a proper chant of their own? Well, these lads at a bar in Seattle think that they might have found the song. Hey, hey, hey, hey, welcome, welcome, hey, hey, hey, Balogun, he scores again. We stole him from England. I mean, it's an absolute classic, isn't it? If it's good enough for Arsenal, it is surely good enough for the USMNT. Then later on in the half, a deflected shot by Serginio Dest wrong-footed Aussie goalkeeper Patrick Beach before Alex Freeman headed in the follow-up. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but after a VAR check, the referee overturned it.

5:06Both celebrations officially measured on the Richter scale, which feels a little bit worrying given how close we are to Mount Rainier. The second half certainly wasn't easy on the eye, but the USMNT got over the line to secure their second win of the tournament. we caught up with fans after the game.

5:50It was insane if you could have been at this watch party the energy was electric people there were dancing up and down We came up with different chants. I came up with one myself. Love to do it for you guys All right, we don't know all the rules. We won't win them today, but this is our house USA That chan is something else, isn't it? Oh my god Almost as good as the float Balogun one. I mean, I'm not sure it's gonna catch on how did it go again guys? the rules. We won't know them today, but this is our house, USA! Wow. Wow. I don't know. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments. I also really do appreciate the effort, but I just don't know if that one's going to catch on.

6:39Anyway, by the way, the funniest moment of the match has to be the referee getting cramp. Look, I know it was hot and they put in a lot of running, but there was three minutes to go, surely. surely he could have just made it and stood in the centre circle. I don't know. Cramp is hard. The vibes are even higher this morning as well because in the final game of the day, Paraguay beat Turkey 1-0, meaning that the USMNT topped the group.

7:10Yep, it is official. The group is yours with a game to spare. History made. And look, US fans, I don't want you to get any crazier than you already are, But if the group stages ended as they are right now, you'd face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 and the winner of Czechia against New Zealand in the round of 16. Maybe this take wasn't as far-fetched as we thought at first. We're in the United States. We're on American soil. There's no question we are going to win this World Cup! Turkey had quite the nightmare World Cup and are now the first team to officially be knocked out of the tournament.

7:47I swear, every tournament they're tipped as dark horses and then they go home with a complete whimper. Paraguay won 1-0 thanks to a goal after just 64 seconds. Turkey had 32 shots on goal. Yeah, you heard that right. 32 shots on goal and they still couldn't score. Remember, they had 30 shots against Australia as well. Paraguay had Miguel Almiron sent off just before halftime. Means he's become the first player to be sent off for covering his mouth with his hand after a confrontation. However, Paraguay, they held on, and now if they draw with Australia, both teams are very highly likely to qualify.

8:24Also today, it was Scotland against Morocco, as the Tartan Army Party continued in Boston.

8:36It really is, when you look at that, quite lucky that that boat in Boston Harbour didn't sink under the weight of all those Scotland fans partying and also drinking a lot of beer. They were in fine voice again, but it was the Moroccan players who made the fast start as Ismail Saibari scored after 70 seconds. That's his second goal of the World Cup. And he is definitely proving exactly why Bayern Munich have moved to sign him. Then in the other group C match, Brazil took on Haiti. The Caribbean Islanders bravely held out against the five-time champions. But eventually their resistance was broken after 23 minutes when Matthias Cunha bundled the ball in.

9:13Carlo Ancelotti's side went on to win 3-0, putting them narrowly ahead of the Moroccans at the top of the group. Let's get into today's action then. And the spotlight returns to Houston for what could be the brightest match at the tournament yet. As the Orange of Netherlands take on the bright yellow of Sweden at 1pm Eastern, it is giving tequila sunrise. You know what I mean? Sort of feel like one of those cocktails now, actually. expect a lot of colour and a lot of noise from both sets of supporters. Here's Brendan Hunt diving into the orange wall and singing a slightly more vibey version of Country Roads.

10:06The Dutch conceded a late equaliser to Japan and drew their opening game 2-2, while the Swedes made a blistering start to the World Cup, smashing Tunisia 5-1. Remarkably, the Netherlands have actually avoided defeat in normal time in their last 13 World Cup games. They haven't lost a game since the 2010 World Cup final, as both of their defeats in Qatar and Brazil were courtesy of a penalty shootout. So we're expecting plenty of goals in this one, and that is the subject of today's Drilldown.

10:40Today's drill down brought to you by Makita is all about why we think Netherlands against Sweden has the potential to be an absolute goal fest. Six of Sweden's last seven matches have featured at least four goals, whilst the Netherlands haven't kept a clean sheet in five. Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has a reputation for being a cautious coach, but in the last 18 months, his team have only failed to score once. They lack a natural number nine up front, but they've got plenty of other players who can chip in with goals, as seen in the draw against Japan, where Virgil van Dijk and Chrysensio Somerville both got on that school sheet in some fashion as well.

11:17Meanwhile, Sweden's top-heavy team is well-documented, with Izak and Jokerez supported by players such as Yazin Ayari, who scored a brace against Tunisia. But boss Graham Potter's priority has been to try and instill some defensive solidity. But that's not really worked particularly well, if you look at it, with their superstar strikers genuinely bailing them out. Elise Graham is in his cowboy hat, though, living his best life. And as the world arrives in the United States for the biggest spectacle in sports, we're going coast to coast, host city to host city, to meet the world with the Men in Blazers Matchday Live Tour.

11:55These are free college game day style live events taking place just before kickoff at some of the biggest games of the summer. But we'll be taking the stage with celebrity guests in front of thousands of fans. It's going to be amazing. Come and be with us in person or from afar on YouTube. And let's celebrate this summer the way it's meant to be celebrated. Head to the events tab on meninblazers.com for all the details. To the football, to more together courage.

12:26Then after that game in Houston, it is off to Toronto as Germany take on Ivory Coast at 4pm Eastern. Of course, both these teams won their opening matches, so know that a win will be enough to clinch top spot in the group. The two teams, they beat Ecuador against Curacao, kick off in Kansas City at 8pm Eastern. And then at midnight Eastern, it is Tunisia against Japan. And we have a fact that is going to blow your minds. I'm excited! You should be excited because this match is the 1000th ever men's World Cup game. 96 years after the first World Cup game in Uruguay, the 1000th ever match takes place in Monterey, Mexico.

13:08Back in 1930, teams bought their own football, referees wore suits and the man who scored the winning goal in the final only had one arm. It's safe to say things have changed a little bit since then, and I feel like maybe the organisers could have orchestrated this to be a slightly more exciting fixture. But alas, Tunisia against Japan is what we've got. Tunisia, of course, have a different manager in charge, with Harvey Renard replacing Sabri Lamucci in the dugout after that 5-1 humiliation by Sweden, while Japan will be expecting a win after impressing for large parts of their game against the Netherlands.

13:45Tonight there's going to be a special live edition of Night Cup. Back at the Santa Monica Pier, Rod and Rory will be joined on stage by former US coach Jürgen Klinsmann directly after Ecuador and Curaçao wrap up to break down all of the action of the day and also what we've seen so far from the US men. RSVP, tell that one for free. The link is in the notes below. Now, as you probably know by now, throughout the tournament I'm going head-to-head with a prediction challenge against one of the night cup team. Yesterday, I took on Rory. We both predicted a win for the USMNT, which came true, but there were no correct scores there.

14:21He predicted that Morocco would beat Scotland. Well, I optimistically went for a nil-nil draw, which I knew was optimistic, but it was also very hopeful, you see. That obviously ended 1-0, and it means that it's another win for the night cup. So it means it's morning night cup two, morning night cup, morning cup date two. I can't even name our show anymore. It's morning cup date two, night cup four. Now, today we took on John Green. These are his predictions. Netherlands, Sweden. Netherlands, Sweden. I'm going to say the Netherlands because of the Liverpool players. Score? 3-1. And Germany versus Ivory Coast.

15:022-2 draw. OK, so that's what John Green went for. I am very conscious that I need to get Morning Cup Day back in this competition. Okay? So I'm going to say Netherlands 1, Sweden 0, and Germany are going to beat the Ivory Coast 2-0. Producer George is looking at me a little bit worried there. Why are you worried, George? He's in the drill now. He said there were going to be loads of goals. Well, to Germany. It's winning things. There we go.

15:36For today's finishing touch brought to you by Bear Paint, it's about the real breakout star from this World Cup so far. No, we don't mean Ishmael Saibari. We're talking about the story of Freddie LA7 on X, the Germany supporter who has been documenting his journey across America. If you haven't seen him or heard about him by now, where have you been? Now, the other day, he visited NASA headquarters in Houston and spoke to the International Space Station on FaceTime. which is quite incredible isn't it? He did have a little bit of a nightmare yesterday though as well. His connecting flight from Dallas to Canada was cancelled due to weather which means that he was going to miss out on Germany's match against the Ivory Coast.

16:21Nightmare. Now you would have thought that that would be the end of the story but apparently not as he was met with a ton of offers in order to get him to Toronto for that game. First of all he was offered a private jet. I'm excited! Wow! And then his newfound friend, JJ Watt, intervened in order to get Freddie on a flight to Buffalo. From there, he can then easily get to the game. JJ Watt has been pretty tight with Freddie since the early days. Don't know how early these days are. But he spoke about what Freddie is really like on the nightclub. The thing I'll say about Freddie is he was unbelievably gracious and thankful.

16:58And he is fully appreciative of the situation that he's found himself in. and how unbelievable it is. And his head is squarely on his shoulders despite everything. And he understands that this is not normal. This is not real. This is an unbelievable life. By the way, if you're interested, Men in Blazers remarkably have some Freddie t-shirts available to buy. So link in the description. Get your hands on those. That is it for Morning Cup Date today, built by The Home Depot. The Home Depot is your winning assist to host the ultimate watch party with fast free delivery to get your backyard match day ready.

17:40Subject to availability. And now as our big orange bus rolls back into sunny LA, we're saying goodbye to Seattle, which I'm devastated about because I have absolutely loved it here. We can look ahead to the final US group stage match against Turkey on June the 25th, when Men in Blazers will be heading to the iconic Union Station for the third edition of Match Day Live. Come and join the fun for free to get ready for another day of hopefully American footballing joy. Rog and Rory will be joined on stage by some brilliant guests to kick off the day. As always, link is in the description of this episode in the notes below.

18:16We are going to be back tomorrow. Goodbye.
