This is a brand new year and it gets to feel different. not suddenly because you're a new person, not because everything magically resets on the 1st of January. We aren't into the new year, new you thing here, but you get to choose how you step into this year. And today I want to help you step into 2026 in a way that feels grounded, empowered, and hopeful, even if life feels messy, busy, or overwhelming right now, because I know something about you. You are capable of having a different experience this year.
44So I wanted to start this new year by reminding you that you can create any change you want. I didn't figure this out for far too long. I used to wait for permission for the right moment, for the right person to say, you can do this now. And the truth is no one else is going to create the change that you want in your life apart from you. Hey, I'm Zoe. I'm your host. And this is Mother Kind, the show about you, the woman behind the mother. and we are proudly sponsored by Wild Nutrition. And as we start a new year, I wanna give you something simple and powerful. It's not a resolution. It's not new year, new you, pressure bomb.
25There's way too much of that right now. Just three gentle, transformative ideas to set the tone for your year ahead. Ideas that will support you as a woman, as a mother, as a partner, as a leader, as a friend, and ideas you can actually live in your real life. So let's begin. The first one is release the myth that you need to do more. Here's the first truth I wanna give you this year. You don't need to do more in 2026. You probably need to do less. No one is gonna talk to you about this online because it is all about more, bigger, better. I think you need to do less. So many of us start January with pressure.
05Let's get organized, let's fix everything. I'm going to come my best self by dot dot dot next week. But the truth is you are probably already doing more than any human should be doing. Motherhood, work, the emotional load, never ending logistics. You don't have a motivation problem. You've got a capacity problem. So what if 2026 is not about squeezing more in, but about making everything you already do feel lighter? More help, more support, clearer boundaries, taking things off your plate, not adding to it. What if you could let something go that's been weighing you down? So that is your first thing I want you to think about this year.
50Can you make this year about less, not more?
00all right second idea on the first day of 2026 is reconnect with the woman you are becoming you're not the same woman you were a year ago and that is a good thing just like your children you are constantly evolving you grow you change you release old thoughts old beliefs and habits that no longer fit who you're becoming and you develop new strengths, new limits of what's possible, new clarity. So before rushing into any goals or resolutions, I want you to pause and ask who am I becoming? Not what are my goals this year, but what matters to me now? What feels alive inside me now? Maybe you want more confidence.
47Maybe you want more joy. Maybe it's more boundaries. maybe it is more ambition maybe it's more rest probably it's more rest whatever it is let that guide your choices this year because when you live from who you're becoming not who you think you should be everything is going to get easier third thing i want you to think about in the first year first day of 2026 is to choose one tiny promise to yourself this last idea is the simplest and the most powerful. Don't set 10 goals. Don't rebuild your entire life by February. Just choose one tiny promise to yourself. One thing that makes you feel more like you.
27Something doable. Something that builds trust. A 10 minute walk. A glass of water before your coffee. I need to do that. Putting your phone down at night. Five deep breaths before reacting. maybe a weekly moment that's just for you. Maybe you challenge yourself to ask for help once a week. Make a tiny promise to yourself. Do it consistently. It will have a massive impact. I recorded a podcast on confidence a few weeks ago and I really wanted to get across this idea that confidence comes from keeping these tiny promises to yourself. It doesn't come from smashing giant goals please don't write yourself a lofty unrealistic resolution list and then not be able to do it you will undermine your own confidence do something different this year start small and here's what i really want you to hear at the start of 2026 you are not behind you are not failing you are not expected to do this perfectly you are a woman navigating one of the most profoundly transformative seasons of life and you my love you are doing it with courage you're doing it with heart you're doing with grit and you're doing it with so much love even when you're struggling to find that love within yourself and for yourself so I'm so excited to walk alongside you this year this is your year to feel supported this is your year to really root into who you're becoming and this is your year to trust yourself again you are doing far better than you think i am cheering you on and i will see you next time
06what an incredible episode i hope you loved it too if you've got this far then i am guessing that you did so make sure that you share it with a friend and subscribe so you never miss an episode and I will see you next Monday and Thursday for more. See you next time.
