In short
The hosts (Vogue Williams, Joanne McNally, Jo Attwell) discuss why they skipped Coachella, festival pricing and fashion, celebrity controversies (Sabrina Carpenter’s “culturally insensitive” sound, Justin Bieber’s alleged inability to play older songs), and the mental/physical pressures around women’s bodies and online trolling. They also swap stories about being photographed by paparazzi, including an “upskirted” paddleboard incident, and share an embarrassing “AirPods out loud” moment involving adult audio (“dildos/sexysticks”).
Guests
None. This is a bonus episode featuring only the three hosts.
Key claims
Coachella is prohibitively expensive (e.g., $40k–$75k suites; ~$550–$650 passes; camping ~$160 plus ticket). Online backlash often jumps to worst-case assumptions. Women police femininity and body standards more than men. Celine Dion’s stiff person syndrome is managed with intensive therapy, enabling a Paris residency.
Notable examples
Sabrina Carpenter stopping her set after hearing a “zagruta” sound; Barry Keoghan receiving abuse over his appearance; paparazzi photos showing “insides” on a paddleboard; the “wardrobe full of sex dolls” AirPods mishap.

0:05Joanne McNally:I hope this email never finds you because I'm dead. Thank you.
0:09Vogue Williams:I saw a picture of me the other day and I was like, oh my God, it literally, you can literally see my insides in that picture. It's so invasive. Like, I saw a paddleboard.
0:17Joanne McNally:While you were talking, I was just, I just did a Rubex cube with my feet. One of the reasons we're not going to go to Coachella, listen to these prices, right? The main reason is because we're 40 years of age, but sure, come on.
0:32Vogue Williams:Hello and welcome to the bonus episode of My Therapist Ghosts with Me with Me, Vogue Williams, Joanne McNally and Jo Attiwell. Okay, girls and boys, we didn't go to Coachella again. And you know what?
0:45Joanne McNally:There's stuff that you look at and you're like, oh, FOMO, YOLO, whatever. What's it called?
0:51Vogue Williams:FOMO. It's FOMO.
0:53Joanne McNally:Yeah, our generation, we just say, I'd like to be there. We don't agree with you. But I have no interest. it's like do you know what I will say and I just I just don't feel attractive enough to go I think it's just like and it's just tits and teeth and
1:09Vogue Williams:we would have to wear bags over our heads Jo Novo you
1:12Joanne McNally:I know you don't like when I call out the fact that you are attractive but you are now me and Jo couldn't go
1:18Vogue Williams:well Joanne you'll be glad to hear that I have since grown a beard from being away I have a pigmentation beard so I will send you a picture of that later
1:24Joanne McNally:and you'll see why I can't go to Coachella anyway too many hot people in one place and I just think for morale I just don't want to go I'd rather go to like a literary festival in Mullingar do you know what I mean and then I think I thrive someone called it the influencer Olympics yeah yeah like
1:42Vogue Williams:now in fairness the people the influencers that are going are absolutely smashing it and they look great they have all these outfits sorted but I I feel like and it was like looking at the Coachella fashion it's all boho it's all like remember Sienna back in the day when she looked pretty cool they're all kind of it's almost like a uniform that they're all wearing
2:02Joanne McNally:the same kind of thing when I was in LA recently that's the vibe so I was looking I was kind of shopping I was in the vintage shops and I was doing the second hand shopping thing and I was like oh I would be a cowgirl within a week here that's the style it's the vibe so and like weirdly in Melbourne I was like the style is like very like dark sunglasses dark clothes it's quite like kind of chic like what would you call it i don't know what i don't know what the term for it is black black fashion like kind of wears coachella la it's like uh coin belts cowboy boots yeah that's what they're all wearing frilly waistcoats yeah yeah yeah it's a vibe they do they do actually
2:47Vogue Williams:have some really good artists just like the ice i was watching moby oh my god and he had this incredible singer with him and it was just like I'd love to have seen Moby but then Justin Bieber's getting a bit of abuse because he was sitting there playing off his YouTube which people were like okay you're literally getting paid 10 million dollars and you're sitting there in a crusty old hoodie playing off your YouTube but supposedly he sold his music catalogue in 2018 and that's why he can't play any of his old songs so that's why he's kind of doing all that new jazz
3:21Joanne McNally:do you know that Moby's doing a gig in Ireland Did you hear about this? Shut up.
3:25Vogue Williams:Yeah. I'm dying to go see Moby.
3:26Joanne McNally:Joe, can you fact check that for me, please? I'm pretty sure Moby is doing a gig. He's going to be doing the Trier Arena. No, no, no. He's doing some tiny gallery gig in Furlong.
3:37Vogue Williams:God, I'd love to go see Moby. If you saw, go watch as Coachella said. It was unbelievable. Really? Friday the 21st of August, 2026 at IMA. IMA, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my God.
3:50Joanne McNally:It's the Irish Modern Art Museum.
3:51Vogue Williams:Yeah. Did you see that whole thing with Sabrina Carpenter? She got a bit of a... Basically, she was being called culturally insensitive because somebody... There's a sound called zagruta. I'm probably not saying it right. It's from... It's heard across large gatherings in Arabian cultures. Yes. She heard it and she stopped her set and said, who did that? And then some girl's like, it was me. And then she was like, I don't like it. And then the fan was like, it's my culture. And she's like, that's your culture? It sounded like yodeling. this is weird and then all those people had a load of backlash on her online and it's like she's sitting on stage stop like 100 ,000 people watching her and she just heard a noise she can't figure it out but I just feel like people are always so desperate like there's a load of people now calling her a racist online it's like she's not being she just she didn't hear properly come on like what but she had to come out she had to come out and do a whole post and stuff about it and it's just like I just feel like you can be educated about something, but you don't need to be educated about absolutely everything.
4:55Vogue Williams:I remember I was sitting in a TV studio and someone was like, oh, this person's died. And I was like, oh, who's that? And they were like, and they turned around. I remember you told me this.
5:06Joanne McNally:I remember this. This was so mean.
5:09Vogue Williams:Yeah, they were like, this person died. I was like, oh, who's that? And she was like, she was turning around. She goes, don't ever let that come out of your mouth again. And I was like, pardon? and she's like don't ever say something so stupid again and i was just like uh okay and i just kind of turned away but i was like how rude are you like i'm asking you to know absolutely everything about okay who's amon devil era then you tell me who's yeah i know devil era i know now you're one
5:35Joanne McNally:everything about you you don't know that was me you tell me about that at the time and i was like no no that's a that's a weird i know i kind of wish i'd stuck up for myself but you know when
5:45Vogue Williams:you're just like so shocked by something. You're just like, oh my God.
5:48Joanne McNally:I also think on stage with the Sabrina yodeling situation, like when you are on stage, you've like a second, like a split second to make decisions about things. And like, you're not there. Like, do you remember the time your one came up between the SSE and Tommy had my period? Oh Jesus, yeah. And I had a split second. The SSE, it's like, it's an arena venue. like it's a fuck off big arse venue so there's a lot of eyes on you so which means you've even shorter time to make decisions because you don't want to like stop the flow of what's happening and she was like you've got your period and I looked down I couldn't see it and basically was like told her to go away and then I was getting dog speech being like how dare you like she was a woman to woman she was trying to support you and I was like I didn't I didn't know I had it she was in fairness to her we've actually spoken since but like you know she had a couple of drinks on board as I say split decisions so like Sabrina I wouldn't be you know I would have sympathy for her in that situation people are so quick they're just so quick they're so quick to think the worst of people they're just so quick
7:00Vogue Williams:oh yeah but people love that people love when somebody is being they love it and I always feel like it's somebody that's getting that's getting torn down but like her set was supposedly amazing and she did five outfit changes and Justin and he sat there in a hoodie playing his YouTubes.
7:17Joanne McNally:Someone posted a photo of Sabrina Carpenter the other day because she's so beautiful and they're like, there's no way a man was involved in this. Her mother got pregnant via vibrator and it made me laugh and laugh and laugh. She is so pretty. She's so pretty. And do you know what I will say? And I know we talk about Barry Keoghan a lot. I feel I feel kind of bad for Barry at the moment I think he's going through a bit of a hard time Jo have you heard Barry talking about I think yeah slagging off the way he looks people just like he used to be with Sabrina didn't he yeah they were together yeah yeah and he's starring in the new Beatles film so like there's there's photos of him floating around kind of in a very yeah like 60s kind of look and stuff but he has come out and said that he's getting so much abuse for how he looks that it's making it really hard for him to leave the house and stuff.
8:14Joanne McNally:I'm like I don't know and I think do you know what I, when someone in his position actually says that my heart melts for them because I'm sure loads of people feel it and think it but they're not saying it but to have such an impact on your mental wellness to actually say it Barry for what it's worth we fucking think you're savage stunning and amazing and I'd ride you in a second. She would as well. No, she would, she would. Barry's like, this is, Joanne, this is the last thing I want to hear. He's like, I'd rather gargle silage. Can I come and hang out with you guys? He's like, I'd rather gargle silage, Joanne.
8:51Joanne McNally:I've just stopped talking up with Sabrina Carpenter. But thanks. Thanks. Thanks for the info. I reckon, yeah.
8:58Vogue Williams:I reckon Barry, although he's probably getting slagged off, is doing pretty well for himself. But I just think that like, like I personally have just become really used to it. Like people always slagging off. something right the way I look. It's just all the time. It's just, even now, being on holidays over here, it's like, there's paps on the island because there's proper famous people here. There's Paul McCartney and stuff like that. So they're going around and they'll just get the tail end of us. I saw a pap picture of me the other day and I was like, oh my God. You can literally see my insides in that picture.
9:30Vogue Williams:It's so invasive. I was on a paddleboard. What?
9:34Joanne McNally:Were you upskirted? What did they see?
9:36Vogue Williams:I was on a paddleboard in my bikini and it is literally like like there is thank God I've had laser because like you would see absolutely
9:47Joanne McNally:I've said this before and I've said it again you need to start wearing knickers on that paddleboard it's outrageous you can't be going out there naked yeah yeah yeah they're going to get the shot they're going to get the shot
10:01Vogue Williams:I pretty much look naked
10:03Joanne McNally:in there Jesus Christ if I was papped on a beach I genuinely think I'd need to be sectioned for three months I couldn't handle it
10:15Vogue Williams:do you know do you know what's interesting about it and I've noticed it this time around like I I haven't put on a load of weight I've put on a few kilos I have put on a few kilos which is totally fine which we support
10:28Joanne McNally:I think you look great I think you look better actually Joe said he'd actually get up on you now and for years he said he wouldn't

10:36Vogue Williams:but like when I'm when I'm like when I've been away before people are like oh look at her body look at her thighs look at this about her she's disgusting look at her cellulite look at this and this time around away and it's actually slightly nicer because I put on a bit of weight and I think that people feel more comfortable seeing you like that or something well certainly the people that are commenting because the comments are nicer oh she's put on a bit of wait, she looks better. But like, it's just, it's such a weird.
11:05Joanne McNally:Well, women are poisoned by our own culture. So like that is, so I've thought about this loads, about general various things. And it's, there's a general consensus within the female community of like, whoa, whoa, whoa. If I've had to step in line and abide by these cultural rules for femininity, it really bothers me. if someone else isn't doing it. Also, there's a lot of women have a lot of hangups about bodies and stuff because we've always been, like that's been our kind of our big social offering has always been your body, do you know? Yeah. Like it's always been, so it's such, it's very messy territory, very messy territory.
11:52Joanne McNally:And I don't think it brings out the best in us as a community. I had a friend of mine who was, I mean, for want of a better term, trolling women who had had babies but had kind of snapped back in inverted commas. And my friend hadn't snapped back, whatever the fuck that means. Like who, you know, so few women do and whatever. And she was really upset, very triggered and very angry at the women who were posting photos. And she was kind of going in on them with like she was being like kind of mean to them and I spoke to her about it and I was like what's going on she was like it just really bothers me because I haven't done it and I think it puts like an awful pressure on women and I was like I totally understand where you're coming from in the same breath don't be part of the problem don't be part of the problem by commenting on it like just block or ignore if you can find it within yourself but she was and like I say she is one of the kindest soundest people I know but she could not contain herself because she feels that she's being judged there's pressure coming towards her and there's just so much pressure and so much judgment around women's bodies where's look at Jo sitting there not a fucking bother on him no men don't have the same they do not it's just not the same it's not the same and the really sad thing is that women we are so brainwashed that we're doing it to each other that's such That's the sad part of us.
13:25Vogue Williams:But you know the snapback thing. I remember when I had had the babies and like my body did just go back. But like the stuff that I would see online about me because that happened. I was just like, you just can't win. Like what am I supposed to do if that's like I'm violently ill when I'm pregnant. So for that one reason, I don't put on a huge amount of weight because I'm sick the whole time. and then and then like
13:51Joanne McNally:I train as well because it makes you feel better but like so this this was going to say this is a very interesting conversation and so with you who you are like a very you're very fitness focused right which is admirable and I I could only I'd love to have an ounce of it so if you train every day put the work in every day that I couldn't be arsed doing that you do then you are going to bounce back when you are postpartum and that's because there's been a lot of work put in before that so you shouldn't be made feel shit about yourself because your body and in Verticom has bounced back because I don't really know like it's so subjective whatever that means but the reason is because you train every fuck you're training every day so like yeah Grant you deserve it you deserve it I don't train every day if I got pregnant when I say I'd be in a mew mew for three years but there's also nothing wrong with that and that's fine exactly I can't expect I can't expect to bounce back when I put no work in previously to getting pregnant like that's not how it works
15:05Vogue Williams:but I also but I do also think it's a certain body type as well no no I disagree there is there is that because Joanne I'm so tall and my torso so is so long that like when I when I was pregnant with with the kids like I didn't look as big either because I'm so long and there's so much more of me you shouldn't be embarrassed or ashamed
15:28Joanne McNally:about the fact that your body and inverted commas bounces back after pregnancy because you are training like a motherfucker before you're pregnant and that's what it is
15:44Vogue Williams:Do you know what? One of the reasons we're not going to go to Coachella, listen to these prices, right? This is what...
15:49Joanne McNally:Well, I would say the main reason is because we're 40 years of age. But sure, go on.
15:55Vogue Williams:Do you want to do something? Listen, age is nothing but a number, okay? And also because you're getting dressed up so nicely for three days. But besides...
16:01Joanne McNally:It is a Coachella. Like, I can't be in that heat in a pair of cowboy boots. I would fucking melt. And then freezing. I'd look like I've done a spinning class. no fuck that
16:09Vogue Williams:and then freezing at night and we wouldn't really be honest having to look nice for three days in a row but the real reason we wouldn't go is because everything costs so much so a single a premium single day suite $40 ,000 you get your own suite comfortable sleeping and shade
16:28Joanne McNally:shut the no hold on what
16:31Vogue Williams:an ultra premium weekend suite $75 ,000 this is a three day access for your entire group, which is 10 to 20 people. A dedicated private suite near a main stage, at main stage. And like you get real beds and air conditioning. But then I was like, what does like a normal person $75 ,000?
16:53Joanne McNally:Yeah, what are the pleb costs? Give me the pleb costs.
16:55Vogue Williams:So a three day pass for Friday, Saturday and Sunday can be$550 to$650. Which actually for a week, like that's not too, like how much is glass and brief for a ticket show? Where am I sleeping in the bin?
17:07Joanne McNally:Where am I sleeping?
17:08Vogue Williams:Yeah, in the bin. No, you're in the bin.
17:11Joanne McNally:So I'm sleeping in the urinal. Wake it up. Have an urinal cake for breakfast for 500 quid. Okay, good to know.
17:20Vogue Williams:You're going to turn into that man in Burgheim who lies at the urinal, so everyone pisses on him. He's not in the urinal.
17:27Joanne McNally:He's under the grate. I've met him. Go on.
17:30Vogue Williams:Camping$160, but you've got to get your own food and drinks. The days are sometimes 40 degrees. can you imagine you in a 40 degree heat sorry 160 a night camping no just i think for the weekend
17:43Joanne McNally:sorry that's actually sorry that's really good value no that was on top of the ticket though
17:49Vogue Williams:because that's you've already paid 650 for your ticket which is that's so a 480 pounds 100 pounds more expensive than yeah i don't think is it a hundred i actually don't think that's that bad like i don't think that's that bad to be honest uh yeah but this that way you could be in 12 areas of traffic, you'd be walking like 30 ,000 steps a day. Like, I would rather, I would rather gargle glass.
18:12Joanne McNally:I'm not going, I'm just saying. I don't think that's that extreme of a cost, really, to be honest, for Coachella. I don't.
18:19Vogue Williams:I would just say, if you're thinking of going to Coachella, why don't you save your money and go to Electric Picnic, three-day festival, Ireland, not like crazy prices. Go and see the Coralas, Mary Black. Yeah. Perfect.
18:30Joanne McNally:Enya.
18:30Vogue Williams:Yeah. Enya, you wish. Oh my God, I'd go if there was Enya. did you see Celine Dion is back on tour Celine Dion okay
18:40Joanne McNally:we have to go to Paris we're going to, she's got a residency she's going to Full Adele in Paris Jo, fact check this for me please okay, and I want no shade because I'm just asking questions because I know Celine has a very rabied fan base and I am a huge Celine fan, in fact every night before I did Prosecco Express I used to listen to we used to listen to a Celine song what is it again? what was the song? I used to listen to it every night to get me ready Joe you know
19:10Vogue Williams:back to me now there you go
19:11Joanne McNally:who originally Meatloaf wanted that song and they said now they're giving it to Celine anyway my point is she now has a disease called paralysis something stiff person syndrome stiff person syndrome very serious I watched some stuff about it it looks horrible like awful so how in God's name is she doing a residency in Paris
19:36Vogue Williams:I'm not here to ask questions I'm just here to buy the tickets to be honest with you I'm not missing Celine in Paris well I was
19:42Joanne McNally:I went to LA to go and see Adele I was doing a show there anyway but I went to LA to see Adele and she rang in sick on the day
19:51Vogue Williams:oh god
19:54Joanne McNally:what are we saying Jo
19:57Vogue Williams:through intensive therapy She has managed, she can manage her stiff person syndrome condition. It is incurable, but she has lots and lots of, it just says intensive therapy and that enables her to do the shows.
20:12Joanne McNally:Because I've seen footage of her having like an episode of her illness and it is so hard, it's so grim. It is so grim.
20:23Vogue Williams:Would we go to Paris? Yeah, we're obviously going to Paris. is literally not out of my mind.
20:29Joanne McNally:We can get the train. We can get the dart to Paris, Jo.
20:33Vogue Williams:Long-time listener, recently saw Joanne the Apollo unreal, change my life, spiritually healed, etc. Oh, thank you. I live in rural Hertfordshire. So my runs are basically me, a few sheep, and the looming threat of a tractor taking me out. I refuse to wear headphones because I like to hear my death approaching. So I listen to the pod out loud but quietly. On her phone?
20:59Joanne McNally:Just banging out of her pocket? Sometimes I do that.
21:02Vogue Williams:No, I'll hold it up to my head. Ready to mute if I encounter civilisation. Now, encounter civilisation usually means one confused cow. Not today. I'm trotting along, giggling to myself like I've fully lost the plot when I turn a corner and boom. A full gathering of about seven people aged 70 plus just standing there having a wholesome countryside chat. before I can react Joanne's voice blares out here just because you have a wardrobe full of sex dolls I panic I go to turn it down but instead I turn it up at which point one of you wagons chimes in as clear as day talking about a bag full of dildos
21:47Joanne McNally:oh my god time stopped
21:50Vogue Williams:one woman gasps I make eye contact with a man who has absolutely never heard the word dildo before and now has to process this along with me in silence. Anyway, I've retired from running. I'll be relocating and I assume there's now a parish meeting about me. Love the pod though. 10 out of 10 changed my life, ruined my reputation.
22:12Joanne McNally:Well, do you know what? I've had several DMs from women similar to that who their AirPods have disconnected or they've run out of battery or something and then something we say, which is like just gross. Desperate. And out of context, yeah, has embarrassed them. So we apologize. But you got to listen privately. It's a private experience. And please don't do it in front of your kids.
22:41Vogue Williams:Please don't do it in front of your kids.
22:42Joanne McNally:Also, Jo, I have to ask, I meant to ask you, there's a company that sent me in a load of... Dildos. Well, yes, folk, but I was trying to come up with a more discreet term.
22:54Vogue Williams:No, no, no. They sent your... Oh, no, I can't. Sexy sticks. Sexy sticks. Yes. Batons. A sexy stick. A sexy stick, yeah. Joanne, you should start a company. You should start a company. Sexysticks.com. Go see if it's ready.
23:10Joanne McNally:Yeah. And God love them. They keep asking me, have you got them yet? And I'm like, I'm so sorry. I haven't seen Jo physically in so long because I know Jo has the sexy stick. so I apologise to the company.
23:21Vogue Williams:You'll know when she has the sexy six. She'll be really happy. You'll see it in her face.
23:28Joanne McNally:Oh God. Anyway, like we say, you're not the first woman that you've kind of let the pod air and been embarrassed. So yeah, we would recommend AirPods. You won't be the last. You won't be the last. You won't be the last. You won't be the last. Discretion advised. We're very low rent. You need to understand that. Speak for yourself. Very low rent. Excuse you. So I meant to say to you about, I did, when I was in Australia, the Shameless podcast. Oh, I love that. Yeah. Yes. So Shameless. And so I thought that we needed to work on a little intro because their intro is the podcast for smart women who love dumb stuff.
24:06Joanne McNally:And I was like, that's, I mean, without kind of blowing my own trumpet, I do think I have some intelligence, but I love dumb shit. and I was like I think we could do with a little kind of blurb as an intro so it's something we should work on I might actually put into chat write us down some ideas yeah
24:24Vogue Williams:I love how we I love how we circle back all the time yeah this is something that will definitely get done Joanne will send us all an email just circling back on this it'll be from 2019 just circling back guys I think we need an intro
24:38Joanne McNally:I hope this email never finds you because I'm dead thank you I just thought it'd be nice to have a blurb and we are, I feel and maybe I'm doing us a disservice, Vogue, but I think we are smart women with a slightly juvenile sense of humour. Only slightly though. Yeah.
25:02Vogue Williams:We're not always like this. We can we hold it together when we need to.
