0:00Conservatives are largely pretending to support Donald Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump he has basically abandoned MAGA at seemingly every turn in his second term as president. And today we're going to work our way through the top seven ways that conservatives are largely pretending to support Trump right now. Starting with the big guy sending$40 billion to Argentina and ending with him buying a participation trophy for himself with the Arc de Trump monument across from the Lincoln Memorial. And yeah, look at that. It's ugly. So buckle up, buttercup. It's going to be a bumpy ride with irreverent news talk and opinion with a both sides suck kind of agenda.

0:36In just a splash of satire for good measure, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Here's today's top trending headlines at Newsweek.com. Argentina beef. Trump's new plan sparks fury after bailout. Trump's new plan to purchase additional beef from Argentina to lower prices for consumers in the United States, according to him, has sparked backlash from critics and alarm from some American producers. as the administration already faces questions and criticism for its recent$20 billion bailout of the South American nation. Sorry, that's more like$20 billion in cash and another$20 billion in credit, so we're really talking more like$40 billion to Argentina when it's all said and done thanks to Trump.

1:14Yeah, I'm guessing this is where he's planning on retiring without any of those pesky extraditions to worry about, and that's why he's being so friendly to Venezuela. I'm just kidding. Because we actually have a pretty strong extradition treaty with them now. Just keep an eye on that if things change over the next few years or even months, you know, in case the Epstein thing blows up. Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? Meriwether Farms, a beef producer based in Wyoming, said that it supports and loves Trump, but described the plan as a, quote, absolute betrayal to the American cattle rancher, unquote.

1:44Well, perhaps, just saying, perhaps you might want to switch that love into the past tense there, Meriwether Farms. It wasn't you, it was him, and it's time to let it go. Trump was recently asked about this on Air Force One. Take a listen. What do you have to say to U.S. farmers who feel that the deal is benefiting Argentina more than it is them, as they are a top-stating party? Argentina is fighting for its life. You don't know anything about it. They're fighting for their life. Nothing's benefiting Argentina. They're fighting for their life. You understand what that means? They have no money.

2:15They have no anything. They're fighting so hard to survive. And if I can help them survive in a free world, I happen to like the president of Argentina. I think he's trying to do the best he can. But don't make it sound like they're doing great. They are dying. All right? They're dying. You giant butthead. You know who's fighting for their life right now? It's most middle and lower class Americans. You know who's really dying on the vine right now, you country club closet socialist? The American farmer. Not only because of stunts like this, but between the tariffs and the rising cost of living for everybody and your ice goons deporting all the cheap labor, it's almost like Trump is intentionally trying to destroy the country.

2:54Do you ever get that feeling? America is dying a slow death by a million cuts and our quack commander-in-chief is giving cash giveaways to his two-bit third world dictator friend. I mean, this would be such an easy spin if they would just put a little thought and honesty into it, like the United States is simply trying to regain influence in South America because the Chinese and Russians have been picking those bones clean for the last last 20 years, that would be one thing. Now you've got Trump sending the Navy into Venezuela to blow up alleged drug smugglers as judge, jury, and executioner. It's an interesting new development to say the least.

3:28And if World War III were about to start, I would want to make sure that we could use Argentina as a base of operations as well. Which is a shame because I would understand it better if it was communicated in such a way, but it's not. Because everything has to be funneled towards Trump because he uses everything he can get his hands on like clown paint on his face to show everybody what a great leader he is. Incredibly insecure for somebody who always gets whatever he wants, except for that pesky Nobel Prize, right? And speaking of clowns, if you're MAGA at this point and this doesn't at least piss you off to the point where you start questioning your dear orange leader, I don't know what will.

4:03Because this is not conservatism. This is deep state swamp monster behavior and you should absolutely know better. And same goes for the Epstein list while we're at it. Do not tell me that the Democrats did nothing about it when they had the chance, as if that's some sort of proof that Trump is innocent. Because he's innocent until proven guilty like everybody else, but he sure is squirming like a worm on a hook over this. Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? And because in all likelihood, this thing is big enough to cause catastrophic damage on both sides equally, you big dummy. It's astonishing to me that today's conspiracy theorist believes every theory that they stumble across, but they're not conspiracy-minded enough in the old school way to realize that these people are all in on the same scam together regardless of what they say about each other on television.

4:48Trump was a lifelong Democrat and friends with the Clintons before Obama came along. He's not a conservative. He's not a liberal either. He's a fake it till you make it opportunist who will be anything you want him to be for a million dollar per plate dinner at Mar-a-Lago. This scumbag has shut down the entire United States government just to keep the Epstein list buried. And then he has the balls to blame it on the Democrats who aren't capable of anything. I thought you were in charge of this room, Donald. So how is it that you allow the Democrats to be so irresponsible? I think that falls on you, big guy.

5:21Oh, that's right. You don't take personal responsibility for anything because you think you're perfect, because you're a narcissist asshole and everybody hates you. Well, not everybody. You get the picture. But Trump shuts down the government because he doesn't want the Epstein list to come out. And he's probably doing it for the same reasons that Joe Biden didn't bother to investigate. What other perception could we possibly have if we're not privy to the reality of the situation itself? When is MAGA going to admit that Trump sucks just as bad as any Democrat ever did? It's never going to happen.

5:48Don't hold your breath. Oh, and now you're on Ukraine's side because Trump is? You people were calling Zelensky a Nazi less than three months ago. What the hell happened? Did all that talk about swastikas get you all hot and bothered? Are you sporting that Ukrainian flag on your truck yet there, my Republican friends? No? You're just embarrassed about everything that Trump is doing right now, so you're ignoring it, right? Right. Okay. Look, cognitive dissonance is a bitch. I get it. Just, I'm asking you, lean into that just a little bit. You know he's a complete disaster, but you're just trying to save face because you're just a little bit embarrassed that you put so much faith into another human being.

6:21And to that, I've got to say that just because the stripper flirts with you does not mean that she likes you. Or that you should like them on a personal level, for that matter, either. And the same should be thought about politicians and lawyers and sometimes even reporters. Deep down, I think that there is a part of MAGA left that knows you're not supposed to take the stripper home with you. But now that the sun is coming up and it's time for that notorious walk of shame, don't worry, us neighbors are not going to judge you. It's time to send that hooker home and remember that politicians are not your friends.

6:52And that goes for Donald Trump just as much as it does for the entire stinking lot of them. Trump has betrayed MAGA for bailing out Argentina. He's mocked MAGA for demanding the Epstein list. He bait and switched MAGA over his stance on Ukraine. And Trump has apparently gone back to his Democrat roots with a spending bill that looks like it was drafted by Bernie Sanders. All this as his base just continues to keep nodding on like they're in some sort of a trance. Oh, and let's not forget that Trump has done another apparent 180, and this one is for erasing student debt. I know, what a deep state swamp monster, am I right?

7:26Next headline in Newsweek, student loan forgiveness update. Trump administration cancels debt for millions. Because when Trump does it, MAGA approves. And when Biden or Obama tries to do it, MAGA gags on its own index finger. People should absolutely get debt forgiveness for all these diplomas and degrees that aren't worth the paper that they're printed on. Entire generations of Americans who were sold the lie that higher education was a guarantee at success and fulfillment. And a requirement for all professional advancement. The Trump administration has confirmed its agreement to cancel student loan debt for eligible borrowers under certain plans, following a legal agreement between the American Federation of Teachers and the Department of Education.

8:07In order to be eligible, you must register as a Republican and record video of yourself kissing a picture of Donald Trump. I'm sorry. Obviously, I'm just kidding. I added that part myself because it sounded like something he might consider. The latest decision marks a major policy pivot for the Trump administration, which previously paused or restricted student debt relief through federal income-driven repayment programs. To qualify for these plans, borrowers typically must have made 20 to 25 years of consecutive qualifying payments, depending on loan origination date and plan enrollment. 20 to 25 years and you still haven't paid off that sociology degree that landed you a job with the state that pays by the hour?

8:47These people deserve more than debt forgiveness. They should get a full refund. I mean, obviously doctors and lawyers and business people need to have some sort of level of advanced edumacation. But the lie that my generation was sold lock, stock, and barrel was that everybody needed to go to college. That somehow you're not going to be accepted by the workforce, or society for that matter, and you won't even develop the cognitive abilities needed to thrive in this fictitious future world that we were about to enter. I didn't fall for it, thankfully. college was not my thing. But most radio stations had internships, which is how I got my foot in the door of the talk business in the late 90s.

9:24And you wouldn't believe how many communications majors cannot find work these days. And for a lot of us, not all of us, but for many of us, experience is the best education imaginable. And nothing is one size fits all. Donald Trump is 5-0 today here so far, and I bet we can add one or two more to the list to make this the top six or seven things that conservatives are pretending to be okay with. See, Trump's$40 billion to Argentina is one. Shutting down the government just to keep the Epstein list buried is two. His sudden support for Ukraine is three. His liberal spending bill is four. And now student loan forgiveness is five.

10:01With Republicans like this, who the hell needs Democrats? Well, I think number six today should be Donald Trump's demolition of the East Wing of the White House for his$250 million ballroom that'll undoubtedly be covered in more gold spray paint than even he is. If watching these giant machines tearing apart the White House isn't an ironic representation of what he's doing to the rest of the country, I do not know what is. Because while America's dying, Trump is building ballrooms and monuments to himself before doing any of the actual work. Yeah, he's just like a contractor who disappears before the job is done.

10:33Because you made the mistake of paying him halfway through the project and now he's off on a bender until god knows when. That's Trump. And Democrats need to be all over this by promising the American people that they will fix everything this moron destroys line by line. But why won't they? They seem not to want to do that. All they do is talk about trying to stop him in the courts, which has proved largely ineffective. They need to adopt the mentality that we're stuck with this guy and his lackeys until they start making some promises that they intend to keep. Based on what I know about how liberals and Democrats tend to think, generally speaking, I wouldn't be surprised if they have to focus group every single line just to make sure that somebody out there isn't going to be offended by it or might actually be supportive of something that Trump has built.

11:20So then they got to break it down and focus group it and see if it's a wise decision instead of just coming out and fighting fire with fire and shooting from the hip like Donald Trump does. That's why they cannot compete. It's why the Democrats can't seem to catch up to this flaming dumpster fire of an administration that's rolling down the hill. If I were running for office as a Democrat, the first thing I would do would be to promise to restore the White House Rose Garden that this reckless buffoon paved over. Then I would promise to tear down this stupid ballroom that he's building on the side of the White House because it's an insult to the historic integrity of the building, and it's a disproportionate eyesore for the size and scope of the existing building and surrounding area.

11:58And if Donald Trump wants to sit around and play DJ all night long, let him keep doing that down in Mar-a-Lago. Because the White House isn't a beach resort where you allow creepers like Jeffrey Epstein to poach the help. You plastic man of a president. Here's number seven. He's also building himself a giant arch across from the Lincoln Memorial. Why? Because his narcissism knows no bounds. Yeah, they better make the outside of that thing porcelain and then coat it in industrial-grade petroleum products because that thing is going to have a ton of spray-painted wiener graffiti all over it. It looks like the Ache de Triomphe in France.

12:32I'm French! So naturally, people are calling it Ache de Trump. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent? No, I say go ahead and build this thing. And let it serve as a reminder as to why we should never elect people like Trump in the first place. Because most honorable people are given memorials after they die. But Trump wants to give himself one, not even a year into his second term. Gosh, you know, I remember a time not so long ago when conservatives had a term for this kind of behavior when it comes to participation trophies. Because that's what this Ark de Trump really is. Only it's worse than that.

13:07Because even participation trophies are given to players by the parents who organized the game. The difference here is that Trump is such a tool that he went to the store to buy the trophy for himself. Which actually takes our list from 6 to 7 on the top things that conservatives are pretending to be okay with. And we're out of time, and until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio.
