0:01Irreverent news, talk and opinion. It's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. And to me, there are very few things in life quite as beautiful as watching the women of Iran burning their Islamic Islamic J.

0:30and to be afraid of you. Just know that real patriotic Americans and good people all over the world stand with you. And we pray for your victory over your Islamofascist dictatorship that treats women like garbage and everyone like religious slaves. Yes, real patriotic Americans get goosebumps when they see Iranian women burning their repressive hijabs in the street, burning pictures of the Ayatollah, and then using the flames to light their cigarette. You gotta love it. It even makes me kind of want to visit Iran someday once they kick these religious psychos into the ash heap of history once and for all.

1:03What's interesting is watching the typical wokester free Palestine liberals have a collective mental meltdown at the contradiction of their own flawed belief systems when it comes to this kind of clash of cultures. A lot of us are extremely tired of pretending that this is complicated. Look, Israel is as religious as all hell, but at least a lesbian can walk down the street in Tel Aviv in a tank top without a bra minding her own business, and the The state of Israel is not going to touch her. No religious police, no jail, no beatings, no morality squads deciding how much skin is acceptable to show from your wrists to your ankles.

1:36But see what happens if you go try that in Iran or Saudi Arabia or anywhere that Sharia isn't just spiritual guidance, but the damn law of the land. Saudi Arabia is supposed to be one of the more progressive Islamic-based cultures in the Middle East when it comes to women's rights. But women are still arrested for dressing the wrong way. They could be fined for simply attracting attention or detained for sitting with the wrong man. You can be punished for dancing on social media, blocked from traveling without a male family member's permission, and locked away indefinitely for refusing to be obedient to your husband.

2:10That's not to mention being jailed for questioning your religion because that goes for men as well as women. And you gotta spare me the that's not Islam routine. This is Islam as it's been practiced wherever it gains state power. Jihad isn't just metaphor in the fine print. The caliphate isn't just a bedtime story, and Sharia law is not optional. They say this out loud inside of their own doctrine, in their own mosques, and in their own language. The goal is domination, not coexistence. Submission is literally in the name. And this is what liberals are blindly celebrating as they sport the keffiyeh around their necks and chant free Gaza.

2:48They have no idea what they're supporting. Because Gaza is the same, if not worse than Saudi Arabia in some ways. Free cultures do not work like this. Free cultures put the individual before the doctrine. And Islam, as a system of government, does the exact opposite. That is why I side with Israel. Not because it's perfect, not because of religion, but because its culture draws a hard line between faith and enforcement. Judaism is often loud and conservative and sometimes annoying, even extreme, and still they live and let live. Political Islam cannot. Wherever they try it, you get the same result.

3:27Women are covered up, gays get hunted, dissent is crushed, and freedom is declared blasphemy. And look, if you want to sport the hijab, that's fine. I'm happy for you. We're not going to have any problems until you start telling people that they have to wear it and sending morality police around with sticks to beat them when they don't comply. This isn't about race. This isn't about hating Muslims. It's about refusing to lie to ourselves about a religious culture that openly tells us who they are and what they want. I'll take a flawed secular democracy over a perfect theocracy every single time.

3:58And hopefully that's what we're starting to see re-emerge in Iran because they weren't always like this. A lot of you know that, I know. Because Iran in the 1970s under the Shah was a secular modern pro-Western monarchy where religion was officially kept out of state power and women enjoyed freedoms that would be rolled back after 1979, unfortunately. That's when the revolution happened that toppled the monarchy and brought the Ayatollah Khomeini and his followers to the forefront, who then rewrote the constitution around Sharia law, replacing secular authority with a theocratic state that fused religion with government.

4:32We all know how that turned out for the poor people of Iran, who are still surprisingly Western, I might add, which is undoubtedly playing a big part in this current situation that's unfolding on the ground there today. Iranians are rioting largely because Islamic culture has pushed a modern educated population past its breaking point by crushing women with compulsory hijab laws, jailing and killing protesters, censoring speech, wrecking the economy through corruption and sanctions, and offering no political outlet for change. What you're seeing is not a sudden uprising. It's been a pressure cooker, a young society that now lives online and thinks globally, being ruled by religious clerics who govern like it's 1479, enforcing obedience through fear while everyday life gets harder and hope keeps shrinking for these people.

5:20It's no wonder they're upset. And look at what's happening on the streets of Iran compared to what's happening here at home. These people are being shot down in the streets by their Islamic government by the hundreds, And they're still showing up by the masses with women removing their hijabs and burning them in the streets. These people have absolutely everything to lose right now. And they're absolutely beyond the point of reasoning any longer with their unreasonable rulers. This is what real protesting looks like. No, it's not like our cosplay imitation slice brand of noisemaking protests we have here in America.

5:54But our hearts and thoughts are with the people of Iran. Keep up the good fight. and don't let the religious nut jobs keep you down. Until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye-bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of The Trust Project.
