In short
Jesse Edwards (Newsweek Radio satire) argues that Donald Trump’s AI-generated “Jesus” image is blasphemous and cult-like, and claims the only way to break MAGA’s hold is forgiveness and “reverse psychology,” not endless rage. He cites Trump’s denial that the image depicted him as Jesus, claiming it was “as a doctor,” and describes the image’s religious and military symbolism (robes, healing scene, ascending soldiers, eagles, jets).
Key claims
Team Trump supporters are “too far gone to reason with”; hatred will consume the speaker; impeachment isn’t enough—technology-based mechanisms could unseat corrupt presidents.
Notable examples

I said, no. They said, who's more famous? I said, Jesus Christ. The Reverend's News Talk Opinion Satire. It's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Today's top trending headline at Newsweek. Trump sparks fury with image of himself as Jesus Antichrist spirit. Well, of course he did. This man thinks he's God because he still has an army of devoted followers who treat him like God and say things like this to him on stage. This is his own spiritual advisor. Jesus taught so many lessons through his death, burial, and resurrection.
0:38Great transformation requires great sacrifice. And Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. At this point, if you're still on Team Trump, you are 100 % part of the cult. And I feel very sorry for you. Because I was raised to love my enemies, and empathy for your stupidity is the only logical thing to do left. Love your enemies, and that includes Donald Trump. It's the only way to strip this buffoon of power. Can you imagine if the left suddenly embraced Trump? What it would do to his base if they thought all the libtards were playing along? Maybe it is time we deploy some sort of weaponized reverse psychology onto what is left of the MAGA movement to destroy it once and for all.
1:19You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us, but it didn't end there for him and it didn't end there for you. Trump posted an AI-generated image, apparently of himself as Jesus Christ, on Truth Social Sunday night, sparking outrage from former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and other social media users. Do you really think it's enough to raise even one eyebrow from anybody who at this point has yet to detach themselves from the hip with this clown? Because I don't. I know, sorry for the mental image there, that's disgusting.
1:50But this AI picture he shared of himself as Christ was shared without a written comment by the president, showing him donning a traditional white robe and red sash and healing a man while surrounded by four adoring people, including a nurse and a soldier. God, yeah. Gag me with a spoon in the first place. Ugh, it does. It makes me want to puke. Oh, but Trump says it wasn't depicting himself as Jesus. He said he was depicting himself as a doctor. What a bullshit artist. Listen to this. Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Well, it wasn't depicted. It was me. I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross as a Red Cross worker there, which we support.
2:31And only the fake news could come up with that one. Screw you. I just heard about it and I said, how did they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor. Yeah, bullshit. Making people better. Liar. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better. You stupid, pathetic liar. You're not even good at it. Do not gaslight us and tell us you thought that was a doctor when it was clearly you as Jesus and you knew what you were doing and you're a stupid idiot for doing it and now you can't even own it. In the background, there's an eagle flying in front of the US flag and soldiers appear to be ascending towards a heaven-like light in the middle.
3:06Another eagle is flying next to military jets on the right. It's just over the top. And look, I'm sure his people think it's fantastic, but you should love them anyway because they don't know what they're doing. And at this point, you should look at them like they're too far gone to reason with. I'm not talking about the people who were conned by Trump and eventually came to their senses, like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Alex Jones and Megyn Kelly and Candace Owens and Elon Musk. The list goes on. But that window of opportunity has officially closed at this point, like the Strait of Hormuz. Because if you're still on Team Trump from here on out, I've got no choice but to look at you like you're too far gone to reason with.
3:42Two Corinthians, right? Two Corinthians, 317. That's the whole ballgame. Where the Spirit of the Lord, right? Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. This is the only way that I can love you as my enemy, because make no mistake, if you are still Team Trump at this point, we are political enemies. That doesn't mean we still can't be friends, just more like associates. We're friends of friends, if you get my drift. We can eat in the same cafeteria, but you're not welcome at my table anymore. That doesn't mean I hope the worst for you, or that I think you deserve what you've got coming to you.
4:13It just means that you stink, And I can't finish my meal with you in close proximity. Get the hell away from me. And I guess that's where I'm at today with people who still wave that MAGA flag. And I'm sure they're not going to lose any sleep knowing I feel this way. But I've got to let go of this hate I feel. Otherwise, it's going to devour me from the inside out. And that goes for Trump himself. This message is brought to you by Kologuard. We've all forgotten something important before. Your keys, your phone, maybe even one birthday you definitely meant to remember. Life always has a way of filling up the to-do list.
4:43And for many adults, colon cancer screening keeps getting pushed to the bottom. That's why health insurers and systems are working to close the colorectal cancer screening care gap by mailing out Cologuard kits, helping more people stay up to date. The Cologuard test is a non-invasive option that requires no special prep or time off. It's that simple. The Cologuard test helps remove barriers that keep people from getting screened. If you're 45 or older and at average risk, ask your doctor about the Cologuard test. Available by prescription only. Learn more or request a prescription at Cologuard.com slash Newsweek.
5:16Do not use the Cologuard products if you have had adenomas, which are a type of colon polyp that can sometimes become cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, or any other hereditary syndromes, a personal or first-degree family history of colorectal cancer, or a positive result from another colon cancer screening method within that test's recommended screening interval. Cologuard results should be interpreted with caution. A positive test result does not confirm the presence of cancer. Patients with a positive test result should be referred for colonoscopy. A negative test result does not confirm the absence of cancer.
5:43Patients with a negative test result should discuss with their doctor when they need to be tested again. False positives and false negative results can occur. If I don't release my hatred of this person, and trust me, it's a palpable hatred, I'm afraid I'm going to start resembling the very monster that I would give anything to destroy. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'm going to forgive Donald Trump for being a criminally insane imbecile, in part ways from even acknowledging his presence to begin with. And a wishful thinking, I'm sure. Forgive me for thinking out loud here, because if I actually follow through with what I'm saying to you right now, it might actually be best for me to stop talking about Trump altogether, which would be highly counterintuitive considering that's one of the only reasons people listen to this podcast.
6:23I just don't know how much longer I can do this without it eating away at my soul. Don't get me wrong, it is fun. I love making fun of Donald Trump because there isn't another human being on this planet that I've seen who deserves ridicule more than him. And in that sense, it does satisfy my animal instinct to attack his hypocrisies, inconsistencies, and daily stupidities without restraint. The problem is that it doesn't go anywhere because we are stuck with this goon like a prison sentence, so we're just pacing the jail cell collectively together with nothing to do other than to watch him destroy the country.
6:58Which is maddening. God always had a plan. On the third day, he rose, he defeated evil, he conquered death, hell, and the grave. And sir, because of his resurrection, you rose up. Just think of all the actual progress we could have been making under all of this time and energy wasted under this moron. Not just how far he's taken us back, but all of the forward momentum and money on the table that's never coming back thanks to him. The rest of my entire life will be spent watching other people clean up his mess, and I resent that to a profound level. Because I've tried my hardest not to resent the people who support him, But I think that's the part of me that has died over the last few weeks.
7:38So it has me questioning everything about my country and my fellow Americans and even my own belief systems. And I just don't know how much further it even makes sense to worry about it. Because I feel like if I keep it up at this pace, I am going to have an aneurysm behind the microphone. I'm proud to be partnering with my very good friend Lee Greenwood in connection with promoting the God Bless the USA Bible. It's just very important and very important to me. I want to have a lot of people have it. You have to have it for your heart, for your soul. I understand the reason that the band kept playing on as the Titanic sank.
8:12That doesn't make it any more comforting knowing that we're all going to be at the bottom of the ocean soon if somebody doesn't stop Trump. If he's the iceberg that sinks this ship, maybe it's time to reach the painful conclusion that he's already ripped a giant hole in the side of us and we're already taking on water fast. I said it a few months back in an op-ed I wrote for Newsweek. We the people need some sort of mechanism bigger than impeachment to unseat, dethrone, and catapult corrupt presidents like Trump into the Potomac when they behave as Trump has. We don't need a representative government to sit around on its hands and do nothing when we should be representing ourselves through the advent of technology.
8:52Different argument, I know, but I guess I forgive Trump for being such a moron that he can't even function on a basic human level, let alone the levels required for the presidency. That doesn't mean I'm going to forget what he's done, and that doesn't mean that he shouldn't answer for the things that he's done and will continue to do. But at this point, if no mortal human being on Earth has been willing or able to stop this blithering dolt by now, it's never going to happen, people. It is never going to happen. So I suggest we do the one thing that he is incapable of doing for others and love Trump and forgive Trump.
9:23Because whether we like it or not, he's teaching us lessons about corruption and incompetence that won't be forgotten in our lifetimes. And for that, for that and that alone, we should be eternally grateful in learning exactly what it means to be a bad president, learning exactly what it means to be a bad American, and learning exactly what it means to be a bad person altogether. Because we have a living, breathing pile of garbage to measure all else against that shows us we are all better people than he is. So let's act accordingly. so that this painful lesson does not go to waste. Last year, you told me that you believe that the reason you won the election is because God put you in this place so that you could save the world.
10:04Looking back one year, do you feel like God is proud of the effort that you've put in? I do, actually. I think God is very proud of the job I've done. That's it for today, and until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye-bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of The Trust Project. Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Well, it wasn't a picture. It was me. I did post it. And I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross as a Red Cross worker there, which we support. And only the fake news could come up with that one.
10:35So I had I just heard about it. And I said, how do they come up with that? It's supposed to be me as a doctor making people better. And I do make people better. I make people a lot better.

Letting go of the hate might be the only way to strip Trump of power, but that doesn’t mean forgetting what he’s done or pretending any of this is normal.
