Podcast Summary: Newsweek Radio - Episode: Proof Trump Has Dementia?

Overview In this episode of Newsweek Radio, host Jesse Edwards critiques former President Donald Trump, focusing on his mental fitness and cognitive abilities, especially in light of his recent public appearances. The discussion highlights issues with geriatric leadership in both major political parties and examines how age may affect decision-making and leadership capabilities.

Key Topics Discussed

Trump's Cognitive Abilities

  • Cognitive Test Claims: Trump has frequently boasted about passing a cognitive test meant to assess dementia. Edwards argues that the test's simplicity undermines such claims, suggesting that if Trump finds the test difficult, it indicates cognitive decline.
  • Sleepiness in Meetings: The episode references multiple instances where Trump has appeared to fall asleep during important meetings, questioning whether a 79-year-old should still be in such a demanding role.

Age and Leadership

  • Age Limit Proposal: Edwards proposes a cutoff age of 70 for presidential candidates, suggesting that this would prevent the election of leaders who may no longer be mentally fit to serve.
  • Comparisons with Other Leaders: The host draws parallels between Trump and Joe Biden, both being criticized for their age and capabilities, and hints that younger politicians like Gavin Newsom may be better suited for leadership.

Critique of Political System

  • Corruption and Ineptitude: Edwards expresses frustration with the political system, describing politicians, regardless of party affiliation, as dishonest and self-serving.
  • Congressional Representation: He suggests the need for a more direct form of democracy, arguing that modern communication technology renders the traditional congressional system outdated.

Speculation on Future Leadership

  • GOP's Future: Edwards speculates that the Republican Party lacks viable candidates for future elections, implying that Trump’s declining health and mental acuity will affect his ability to run again.
  • J.D. Vance's Potential: He discusses the possibility of J.D. Vance stepping into a leadership role but expresses skepticism about Vance's current standing within the party.

Cultural Critiques

  • Satire and Commentary: The episode is laced with irreverent humor and satire, with Edwards referring to Trump in various derogatory terms, illustrating his perspective on the former president's capabilities and legacy.
  • Broader Political Landscape: Edwards touches on the potential future of the Democratic Party and the emergence of further "woke" politics, expressing concern over the direction of the country post-Trump.

Key Takeaways

  • Mental Health and Leadership: The episode highlights the importance of mental acuity in leadership roles, questioning the suitability of older candidates.
  • Need for Political Reform: Edwards advocates for significant changes in the political landscape to better reflect contemporary society and its needs.
  • Engagement in Political Commentary: By using humor and satire, the podcast aims to engage listeners in discussions about political issues without an explicit agenda.

Conclusion The episode serves as a critical examination of Donald Trump's cognitive fitness while addressing broader concerns regarding age in politics and the effectiveness of current political structures. Jesse Edwards encourages listeners to think critically about leadership and the future of governance in the United States.

0:00The first questions are very easy. the last questions are much more difficult, like a memory question. If you think that was difficult, then you failed the test. When you get into the mid questions, meaning 10, question number 10, 11, 12, 28, 30, they get harder and harder. And it was 30 or 35 questions. The first questions are very easy. The last questions are much more difficult. Perhaps that's why they keep giving you the test, Donald. Irreverent news, talk and opinion, speculation and satire. It's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards, and we've all seen the footage of Trump falling asleep several times at his own cabinet meeting by now.

0:39And everybody's acting surprised when a 79-year-old meatball can't stay awake, even when people are sitting around the table to specifically kiss his ass for two hours. The cutoff age to be the president of the United States should be 70. So we need to stop electing anybody over the age of 62 so that if they do serve two full terms, they won't reach their expiration date before they leave office. 70 is too old to run our country. I'm sorry. It's just a massive liability. I'll let you know when there's something wrong. There will be someday. That's going to happen to all of us. But right now, I think I'm sharper than I was 25 years ago.

1:18But who the hell does? Did you know that in the United States, the maximum age for a commercial airline pilot is 65 years old, after which they must retire from the cockpit. This isn't ageism, it's common sense. Trump is clearly suffering from dementia and old age, just like Joe Biden was. And nobody has the guts to take the keys away from grandpa after he just hit six cars. Backing out of the parking lot this morning, metaphorically speaking. They said to me, would you like to take a cognitive test. I said, is it hard? They said, yes. I said, well, I'm a very smart person. This is so embarrassing.

1:58Not only is he the most corrupt imbecile that has ever entered the White House, but now we get the pleasure of watching this fruitcake crumble before our very own eyes. Who is the last president to take one? No president has ever agreed to take one. because when you get into the mid questions, meaning, you know, 10, question number 10, 11, 12, 28, 30, they get hotter and hotter. Why is he even doing any of this in the first place? It reminds me of the monkey who is too stupid to free itself because it won't let go of the banana. And now our big dumb ape of a president is stuck in meetings for the rest of his pathetic life instead of, I don't know, getting out there and enjoying those last few months on planet Earth.

2:40I mean, I suppose he's already had every thrill known to mankind many times over throughout the years with all that money of his. Trump is still supposedly worth about$5 billion, yet he decides to spend the rest of his time sitting in these boring meetings all day long. Why? I don't even blame him for passing out four times at this meeting because meetings suck. American farmers have been ripped off. They've been ripped off and what he's saying is we want to have a trade with the world, but it has to be a trade in which American businesses and American workers and the products they make and what American farmers grow and produce has a fair shot to be sold around the world.

3:16This entire fluff job could have been done over email with a boring ass press release that nobody was going to read. The only reason anybody's even watching this meeting is because Trump fell asleep. Even while Marco Rubio tried in vain to get his attention by directly speaking to him. On issue after issue, that's been the case. You talk about foreign aid reforms. This is not our money. This is taxpayer money. When the president said, we're going to do foreign aid, but we're going to do foreign aid for countries that are aligned with the United States and in a way that doesn't waste the taxpayers' money.

3:48I don't think Sleepy Donald is in charge here anymore because it's looking more and more like Weekend at Bernie's at this point, just like people correctly said about Joe Biden. because, yes, Joe Biden was also too old to fulfill the duties of commander-in-chief as well. And I think this is why Gavin Newsom's going to be our next president. He's only 58 years old right now, and assuming he serves two full terms would place him well under the age of 70 when he retires from office. It works for me. I mean, sure, he's clearly a wokester, which is a bit of a problem, but at least he's articulate and charismatic.

4:22I mean, every single politician is the worst kind of liar imaginable anyway. But at least Gavin Newsom should be able to do the job without being a total buffoon like Donald Trump. I could say the same thing about Barack Obama, because I have really no beef with these men on a personal level, which is actually much more important to me than politics. I would rather be friends with a crazy liberal with manners than a sane conservative without them. I'm not saying that I think Trump is sane, but for argument's sake, if I can't trust you as a human being first, there is no way in hell that I'm even going to want to try to believe your lies when you are the president.

4:56And it's a shit job, really. I mean, I think only a real sociopath would want the job to begin with. But if you're going to be an intellectually inconsistent, transactional asswipe the entire time, then I will be more than happy to vote for the opposition. Republicans have nothing in their arsenal for the 2028 presidential election, and they know it. Thankfully, because, you know, Trump is already circling the drain of life like a goldfish in the toilet, and there's clearly no possible way that he will ever be able to run illegally for a third term, even though we all know for a fact that he would try if he could, simply because he's floated the idea dozens of times himself, and even has Trump 2028 merch for sale in his store, even if only to troll the libs.

5:39J.D. Vance is a monstrosity of a joke within the conservative movement. Nobody on the right likes or trusts him, and he's got zero chance of becoming president, you know what that is, unless he turns on Trump, which I still think is a possibility. A long shot for sure, but a distinct possibility. I'm willing to bet that J.D. Vance still thinks that Donald Trump is Hitler, and that he's only kissing Trump's ass so that he can have some sort of come-to-God moment in about a year where he pretends to realize that Trump has been the devil in disguise this entire time, and thus pulls the 25th Amendment card, kicks Trump to the curb where he belongs, and assumes the office himself for the remainder of 2027 and into the election as the incumbent, as opposed to writing the bitch seat as number two.

6:22It's never gonna happen, don't get me wrong, I know this man. But it is fun to dream. It's fun to dream about Trump being face down in the mud, after being rejected and ejected from the same people who put him in office, because it would be the exact kind of poetic justice that so often does eventually compliment prolific grifters like Trump. But this isn't a movie, and what we're about to see with his declining mental capacity is going to be far less satisfactory because when that moment comes, and it inevitably will, his mind is no longer going to be able to process the karma that has returned to his foul and detestable being.

7:01I'll let you know when there's something wrong. There will be someday. But seriously, he is in pure survival mode right now, not only in trying just to stay awake, but in frantically trying to round up and grab every last dollar that he can get before he dies. It's sad, really. I'd almost feel bad for the guy if he wasn't so stupid on top of his pomposity. At least we're not watching some sort of brilliant mind die on the vine right now, because that would be tragic. But we don't really get brilliant minds in the White House, do we? I've always assumed that it's because anybody with real brains stays about as far away from the District of Columbia as possible.

7:34Meanwhile, we're stuck with this mental midget, sorry mental little person, who thinks that his repeated senior citizen cognitive tests are something to brag about. I'm sure you've seen this. Watch. Who was the last president to take one? No president has ever agreed to take one. Because when you get into the mid questions, meaning, you know, 10, question number 10, 11, 12, 28, 30, they get harder and harder. These tests that he's talking about are not hard. They're specifically designed to be the opposite of hard so that doctors can spot early dementia. Things like naming animals and drawing a clock or remembering five words for five minutes.

8:14Person, woman, man, camera, TV. It's nothing more than baseline, argumentally present kind of stuff. So it's person, woman, man, camera, TV. A healthy adult should breeze through the thing without a second thought. Person, woman, man, camera, TV. Bragging about acing a cognitive exam is like bragging that you tied your shoes or identified a picture of a lion. Congratulations, I guess, but... The first questions are very easy. The last questions are much more difficult, like a memory question. If you think that was difficult, then you failed the test. When you get into the mid-questions, meaning, you know, 10, question number 10, 11, 12, 28, 30, they get harder and harder.

9:02And it was 30 or 35 questions. The first questions are very easy. The last questions are much more difficult. Perhaps that's why they keep giving you the test, Donald. So it's person, woman, man, camera, TV. I don't know, maybe that's why they keep loading this walrus into the MRI machine. Because he thinks that a test designed to be as easy as humanly possible was hard. And these are tough questions. These are questions that I would say 99 % of the people that I'm talking to right now, meaning the people from the fake news would not do well in those exams. This looks like pretty damning evidence to me.

9:38So I'll say it again for the slow kids in the back of the room. And these are tough questions. If Donald Trump thinks that the cognitive test was somewhat difficult, like he just admitted on this video, then I would say that we have some concrete evidence, perhaps for the first time conclusively, that the cheese is sliding off of Donald Trump's cracker as we speak. These are questions that I would say 99 % of the people that I'm talking to right now, meaning the people from the fake news, would not do well in those exams. I didn't need any more proof, personally. But it is good to nail these things down whenever they come up so we can use it against him in the court of public opinion.

10:19A moment like this is almost as damaging as when Joe Biden forgot where he was the last time he tried to debate Donald Trump. What I've been able to do with the COVID, excuse me, with dealing with everything we have to do with. Look, that stupid moment right there cost Joe Biden the entire presidency of the United States. I don't think we realize the gravity of that situation because it happened in such relatively modern history. But imagine flubbing so bad in front of the entire country on live television that your own party swiped the rug out from underneath your feet and replaced you with somebody like Kamala Harris?

11:04Someone infinitely underqualified for the position. That had to sting. But I think it also inadvertently taught the GOP a lesson. By setting the precedent and planting that seed, I think the vast right-wing conspiracy found a loophole to Donald Trump's rapidly declining health that prevents him from crowning himself king. Because if they start a ground war with Venezuela right now and replace Donald Trump with J.D. Vance before the end of his presidency, a la Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, in theory, J.D. Vance could then just declare martial law in the name of national security and postpone elections indefinitely and remain in charge as long as he's able to hold on to it.

11:42Again, I don't think this is what's going to happen, but I do believe that they would try it if they thought they could get away with it. That's how far my distrust for leadership in Washington goes, and it's why I fully embrace and lean into both sides-ism. Because it's not about nuance at this point, it's about decay, and the system has been rotten from the inside out for decades now. Which is why I keep playing with this novel concept of mine to replace the United States Congress with a direct vote of a vetted people. You can keep the Senate and SCOTUS and POTUS, but get rid of every single representative and let the people represent themselves for a change by stepping into an age of technology that we actually live in.

12:23Having congressmen made a lot of sense back in the 1850s when they physically needed to represent the people in session at the Capitol building. Can you imagine traveling back and forth from your home state to Washington, D.C. every year in a horse and buggy? It happened. Back then, a single round trip could take weeks, if not months. If you were a congressman from California or Oregon, you practically vanished from your district for an entire season just getting back and forth from D.C. Even from closer states, you were looking at days of travel by rail or carriage. Representing your constituents meant literally uprooting your life to be physically present in the capital, which is a completely different universe from today's instant communication and four-hour flights.

13:07So why haven't we adapted yet? Why haven't we demanded that we replace our esteemed representatives with a system of government that more accurately reflects the needs and demands of the time we are living in? You know why we can't place term limits on Congress? Because Congress would need to approve that. Nobody wants to give up that kind of power. You know, the kind of power that requires millions of dollars to reach and only pays a salary of$174K per year? I mean, say what you want about that nutjob Marjorie Taylor Greene, but at least she appears to have had enough shame and self-awareness to get off that government teat.

13:43You know, four years and$25 million later, most of them stick around a lot longer. And some do it for the kickback, some do it for the bribes, some do it for the power or just the prestige. And of course, you've always got a few true believers of the system scattered around like, you know, Bernie Sanders, who have actually worked pretty hard for what little they kept relative to folks like MTG. But even Bernie Sanders is worth three million bucks. Not exactly incredible in the grand scheme of things, but still pretty damn good for an open card carrying member of the socialist party. I mean, sure, three million dollars only puts you in the top 10 % of earners in the United States.

14:19But you got to think like a globalist like Bernie Sanders does. If Bernie Sanders truly sees himself as a global citizen first, which I'm sure he does to some degree, then that makes him part of the elite 1 % of top global earners. What kind of failed socialist do you have to be to make that tax bracket? For shame on you. Shame on you, Bernie Sanders. In all actuality, I have more respect for Bernie than a lot of other politicians, because Bernie has always been open about his socialist agenda, unlike the other Democrats who pretend to be something a little bit more hybrid like Gavin Newsom. Just don't forget that as goes California, goes the rest of the country.

14:58And I'm afraid that we're about to see whatever gross mutation of woke politics comes out of the far left in the post-Trump era. We ain't seen nothing yet, I'm afraid. But until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye-bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of The Trust Project. President Donald Trump
