Then They Built a Golden Statue of Him

Trump wishes he was as charming and seductive as the Antichrist would need to be in this foul ear of our Lord. But it is stomach-turning to watch people like this literally worship a golden statue of a government official. A cow or a pig would be more respectable somehow. This is just embarrassing. The pastor behind this newly erected 22-foot golden statue of Trump at one of his Florida golf courses is defending the project following criticism that the homage violates biblical prohibitions against worshipping false gods.

1:10Yeah, it does. It's blasphemy to even think that. Don't you just love being gaslit by so-called religious leaders? No, Trump is certainly not the Antichrist, but he is paving a path in gold for one. John Mark Burns, an American evangelical minister and spiritual advisor to the president, led the unveiling ceremony at Trump National Doral, Miami this week, joined by dozens of religious figures. And doesn't that just figure? He described the statue as, quote, a celebration of life and a powerful symbol of resilience, freedom, patriotism, courage, and the will to keep fighting for America. Yeah, I got to go use a toilet.

1:52In the meantime, take a listen to this. Well, of course he loved the statue. Who wouldn't love a statue of themselves? I mean, again, Michael Jordan loved the statue of himself. Allen Iverson loved the statue of himself. Shakira, the singer, loved the statue of herself. Elton John. Oh, my God. Who wouldn't love a statue dedicated by people who love their art, their ability to why they're alive? Excuse me, Pastor. Are you really saying that just because all these people have golden statues of themselves, it's okay for everybody to have a golden statue? If everybody jumps off a cliff, are you going to do it too, Pastor?

2:31Come on. This is basic Sunday school. I've always preached a word. You know, let's give the flowers while you are alive instead of a bed full of roses when you're dead. And so now it's time for the president to smell the roses while he's alive. Yeah, you're going to need those roses because the bullshit reeks from here. I'm sorry. Who is this clown? Good Lord. Well, of course he loves this. Who wouldn't love a statue of themselves? I'll tell you who, Pastor. God-fearing Christians. That's specifically who? This, ladies and gentlemen, is the voice of a charlatan of the lowest order. It's blasphemy to even think that.

3:08What we need now is a Moses to come down from the mountaintop and smash this golden idol to Trump into a thousand pieces. And then make the people who created it, like this pastor John Mark Burns, eat the thing just like they did in the book of Exodus. Wow. These people are not only delusional. Would that not qualify? should that not qualify as evil by their own standards? It's like the rules that they invent for everybody else don't even apply to them because they can just say that God told them so and that you are the one who is crazy for calling them out on their beyond blatant hypocrisies.

3:46You see across social media that this is some idol and that people are quoting Exodus and it is so true and I'm very happy that people are quoting Exodus that we should have no false gods before or no graven image created and no false god. For me, that's a mission accomplished because so many around the world are repeating that scripture. It's blasphemy to even think that. I mean, if you knew me, and of course, I don't know anybody who worships Donald Trump as a god. Why don't you try looking in the mirror, Pastor? It's blasphemy to even think that. So this pastor, a man who claims to speak for the Almighty himself, based on the teachings of the Christian church, is telling you that you're now a blasphemer for even suggesting that erecting a golden statue of a lecherous government official might be crossing the line according to the teachings of Christ himself.

4:38It's blasphemy to even think that. Tell me which side exactly is this pastor batting for, assuming that you believe any of this crap to begin with? Look, I'm just here for the popcorn and hypocrisy shaming myself. And it's not like anybody's going to be able to tear this thing down either. It's on private property and it's a free country. You can worship any god you want, even if it's a golden statue of Donald Trump. But don't tell me that's not what you're doing here, pastor, and I use that term lightly, because you are worshiping Donald Trump whether you want to admit it or not. And you and everybody else who's going along with this should be ashamed of yourselves, but you clearly have no shame, which is probably why you've lowered yourself to worship the golden statue of the worst government employee in American history.

5:19So yes, golf clap for your resounding duplicity. I'm not even mad. Because this level of an ability to believe your own bullshit is impressive at this point. I mean, wow. Future generations can add entirely new sections to the Bible about how in the Trump era, he turned into the golden calf 2.0 himself, and half of the Christians got on board. No, I don't think it's all of them. Because it's crazy stuff like this that gets them to open their eyes and see that they've made a giant mistake. Just remember all those folks who followed Moses up to Mount Sinai all those years ago after wandering the desert.

5:56But the minute their leaders stepped away to write those Ten Commandments, they built a golden statue of a baby cow and started worshipping it and justifying why they built it and started calling it blasphemy to suggest that this golden calf was somehow inappropriate. It's blasphemy to even think that. Just like we're seeing today before our very own eyes. Only this time, it's in Florida at one of Trump's golf resorts. Unbelievable. Even for me, this is so over the top, I cannot believe what I am seeing or hearing. This is the most ridiculous participation trophy on earth. So they had this unveiling.

6:32The pastor and a bunch of their Trump statue worshippers were there. Trump himself did not attend the ceremony, but he was able to phone this in. Everybody is taking pictures of it. Everybody is. My people told me that it's unbelievable. them all day long they're taking pictures they stand up next to it and they have their picture taken it really came out beautiful i don't know what to expect i just want to thank you all and we love you all and god bless america i don't know if you heard it the same way i do but the president sounds rather unimpressed to me at least with the statue itself i mean clearly more interested in the simple adoration that he gets from the people hanging out around the thing but Trump already has a lot of gold crap, so it's not any wonder that gold leaf alone wouldn't be enough to get him to roll out of bed for.

7:18Hey, but don't you dare believe your lying eyes. Because if Trump's pastor says that it's not an idol, you'd better believe that it's not an idol. Because that would mean that anybody who's okay with this is practicing idolatry, which is a sin. All the humanity. And we all know that people who worship golden statues of Donald Trump are above all sin. You blasphemous heathens! It's blasphemy to even think that! Assuming you're the kind of person who believes in this stuff in the first place, how did you honestly believe the devil would come at you during the end times? Like a pointy-tailed red guy with a pitchfork and cloven hooves?

7:57Or was it a golden idol of a conman? Born into wealth, curated by Hollywood, and designed to usher in the golden age of the inevitable woke backlash. If you think the bleeding heart crowd was bad before, just you wait and see what these people are going to behave like when they become the living embodiment of the equal and opposite reaction to Trumpism. It's not going to be healthy or pretty. And sure, many of them, like Gavin Newsom, are all acting like moderates now. But that's what politicians have always done. You're a moderate when the other guy's in office. And you're an extremist when you're in office.

8:37at least after that pesky first term is over. Because once you get that second term, there's nothing to stop you from doing pretty much whatever you want. Just ask the Supreme Court or Donald Trump for that matter. Because what are they going to do, unelect you? Come on. Even if you're impeached, you could still hang out for the rest of your term like nothing happened. Just ask Bill Clinton or Donald Trump. Because impeachments haven't meant anything since Nixon. You don't have Nixon to kick around anymore. At least he had the shame to leave before they could actually do it. the terrifying part isn't even the golden statue itself so much as the millions of people staring directly at it while convincing themselves that the behavior is totally normal despite their own doctrine warning them specifically against this exact behavior it's blasphemy to even think that
