In short
The episode argues that Donald Trump is contradicting himself about Jeffrey Epstein, claiming he now knows the “Epstein files” narrative is false and is reacting defensively. It also pivots to social security benefit cuts and political hypocrisy, plus Nancy Mace’s potential run for governor.

Trump says his name may have been planted in Jeffrey Epstein files. Take a listen. Well, I haven't been overly interested in it. You know, it's something, it's a hoax that's been built up way beyond proportion. I can say this, those files were run by the worst scum on earth. They were run by Comey.
0:38They were run by Garland. They were run by Biden and all of the people that actually ran the government, including the auto pen. Those files were run for four years by those people. If they had anything, I assume they would have released it. The whole thing is a hoax. They ran the files. I was running against somebody that ran the files. if they had something they would have released. Now, they can easily put something in the files that's a phony. Yeah, does anybody else think that he doth protest a bit too much, so much that he's actually showing his hand quite a bit here? Yeah, we've all known that your name was all over this for years now, Donnie.
1:19Welcome to the party. And a newsflash for you, big guy, it's not the indictment that you're already treating it as. The mere fact that you're squirming so much tells us everything that we need to know. They can put things in the file that are fake, but those files were run by bad sick people. And I think the shift that we're witnessing in Donald Trump right now, I believe has yet to be identified. But I think what we're seeing right now, perhaps for the first time, is a rare moment where Donald Trump himself doesn't believe the things that he's saying about Epstein. Because he's the kind of guy up until now, at least in his own mind, that's been telling the truth the entire time, right?
1:56I've been doing this for a long time. Assuming he actually believes that, But the only difference now is that he knows he's lying. Who would do a controversial drawing? Now, with that being said, they say there were many letters done by many people. And such a terrible actor who has had to rely on what he believes to be the truth. Now that he's being forced or compelled to repeat a big lie that even his noodle brain knows is a whopper? And many big people, you know, big, successful people. but uh i just i just don't when you you know when you talk about files i just keep going back and other people too even the enemy says this thing is not correct because if we had it we would have used it on the guy we can all clearly see that he has no acting chops and that he's terrified beyond words that he now needs to keep up this charade for his own survival it's quite a predicament to be in.
2:51Trump always believed his lies were the truth. And now that he knows it's a lie, he's finally sweating bullets. It's fascinating to watch somebody become allergic to their own bullshit in real time. It's like he barfed in his own mouth, and since everyone on the world stage is watching, he has no other choice but to swallow it down. No, beautiful imagery, right? Sorry. But what's interesting to zero in on is that Donald Trump has taken a stance on the Epstein iceberg that's far from his trademark conspiracy theory branding that brought him all the way to the White House starting with Barack Obama's birth certificate.
3:22At a time when Obama was supervising the killing of Osama Bin Laden for crying out loud, this bone-spurred draft-dodging Eric Cartman of a person was cashing in on every Alex Jones nutjob conspiracy theory he could get his grubby orange little hands on. If Barack Obama was born in Kenya, then Donald Trump is a bonafide butt baby. Born inside of a tanning booth in a strip mall somewhere in Queens. Next headline Newsweek Social Security warning issued as retirees could face$18 ,000 cut. Retirees could face a huge cut to benefits in the next seven years if a new funding solution isn't found for Social Security.
3:55A new report from the Committee for Responsible Federal Budget has outlined, the committee has estimated that people with a medium dual income retiring in 2033 would lose $18 ,100 per year in benefits if the trust fund conundrum is not solved. The calculations are based on a 24 % cut due to the recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. I used to wonder why the social security office had armed guards standing around while grandma waits in line to ask why her check is short but it makes perfect sense now the reason there's a guy with a badge and a glock watching over the lobby is quite simple the government is stealing your money by law and they know damn well it's not going to be there when you need it and they don't want you getting loud about it in the lobby.
4:42Go ahead and complain a little too much. You'll be lucky if you're not hogtied and hauled off to the county farm for disturbing the peace at the very office that's been looting your paycheck since you were a teenager. It's astonishing to me that the left and the right have never been competent enough to join forces on issues like this. You know, so that people might be allowed to opt out of a system that we all know is broken. The left treats programs like social security is holy, scripture, government is God. Meanwhile, the right talks a big game about freedom and individual choice, but when it comes to programs like this, they fold like lawn chairs.
5:13Sure, they like to wail and moan about big government micromanaging our lives just to turn around and defend the very mechanism that's doing it. Tell me you wouldn't top out of this Ponzi scheme if you were given the chance. I've been working in radio and podcasting since 2002 and I've dumped nearly a hundred grand into this system because I was forced to. And what can I expect to see when I retire in 2045 a 24 % cut. That's a$127 ,000 hit to my retirement because the politicians in charge spent decades pretending this system was sustainable while looting it in plain sight. And yet I'm still not allowed to opt out of this stupid game.
5:49And if you complain, there's a guy with a gun waiting in the lobby to remind you who's in charge. Alright, so I'm not a Twitter person. So much so that I refuse to call it X. The only reason I have it is because sometimes the only way to get in touch with guests is a DM. But for some reason, I get a stupid notification from Juanita Broderick every few days, and I have no idea why. I don't follow this person, but apparently Twitter thinks I should care a lot about what she has to say. Her name is a bit of a throwback. Juanita Broderick said that she was raped by President Bill Clinton in 1978 when he was the Attorney General of Arkansas.
6:24Anyway, she retweeted George Papadopoulos who said, quote, Obama could get impeached over Russiagate, stripping his immunity under SCOTUS ruling. This is big, unquote. And good God, I guess this appears to be their strategy going forward. Leave it to Trump's idiotic band of psychophans in the GOP to go along with this nonsense. I suspect that they'll start dropping like flies once Obama starts demanding to open the books on Trump's unshakable Epstein scandal. You know, once Obama starts demanding to open the Epstein files, because that's really all he has to do if Trump seriously goes after him.
6:57Look, Obama's a good guy, and I really don't care if I lose any listeners over that statement, because I'm sure I will. But it would be worth it, considering that Obama would then suddenly become the sane voice in the room to millions of disenfranchised MAGA voters who feel betrayed. Now, you might not get any converts, but if Obama unites the country against Donald over the Epstein saga, it's all over. And I can't think of a better way to make sure that happens than to watch Donald Trump try to go after him because of Russiagate. Obama didn't invent Russiagate, Donald. You did with your constant toe-sucking of Vladimir Putin for the last decade.
7:30Unrequited love is such a bittersweet sorrow, isn't it? We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin for you want to know the truth. Next head on the Newsweek, Nancy Mace teases run for governor, says South Carolina has gone woke. The congresswoman said she may be forced to enter the race for South Carolina Governor Will. Wait just a minute. I thought wokeism was dead and that Donald Trump represented a victory lap for y 'all. I mean, as a never-Trumper myself, I can't help but admire what the right has done to expose the hypocrisy of wokeism in a culture that also prides itself on inclusivity.
8:03And I don't know why I pop into a Southern accent every time my persona identifies with MAGA. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't wokeism die a few years ago? I mean, the only people clinging to its lifeless corpse are the far-left extremists who never had their finger on the pulse of America to begin with. You know, those of us who eventually do the right thing after we've tried everything else, to borrow a phrase often, and probably falsely attributed to Churchill. Now, I actually understand where Nancy Mace is coming from here. In general, I think it'd be a lot more fun to act like the president of your state as governor, especially considering that almost anyone can be a representative these days.
8:34And she's probably realized there's not much more she can do to build on her position in Congress, especially if somebody like Gavin Newsom ends up in the White House after Trump torches the place. Yeah, beware the Newsom AOC ticket in 28. I know that seems like a long way off, but once you hit your mid-40s, those years start to feel like months. The battle for the midterm starts as soon as the kids go back to school, which means we've got about a month before both sides drop everything they're doing for the people and shift fully into campaign mode for themselves. They're starting to position themselves already, and Nancy's just calling her shot a little early.
9:04Until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. And we say bye-bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project.
