0:00Irreverent news, talk, and opinion, sometimes a little bit of satire, not so much lately. It's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. And only radical centrism can save America. Yes, only radical centrism can save the alleged United States of America from its toxic political discourse. Both major political movements have been so thoroughly bastardized that one has surrendered itself to Trumpism and the other has enabled it through cowardice, denial, and selective outrage. Both sides-ism is not a lazy cliche. It's the only intellectually honest position left, in my not-so-humble opinion. We'll start with the left wing.

0:39They're completely out to lunch. Every day, Donald Trump does something stupid or more dangerous than the next, and the best that they can manage is to send old Chuck Schumer out to the podium to bore everybody with an earshot to death with one of his endless political diatribes. ironically and dangerously the chaos Donald Trump has endangered engendered sorry and yes Gavin Newsom has a fantastic team of writers managing his Twitter never gonna call it x page with tons of jokes I mean I've got to admit it's pretty funny but what does it accomplish when we have a convicted felon in the White House tearing the country apart from within and engaging in authoritarian behavior abroad where the hell is the urgency on the left where is the million man march on Washington, where is that hellfire and brimstone energy that came roaring out of the militant left after the murder of George Floyd?

1:34Now the left looks absolutely paralyzed, and Trump didn't just silence them through strength, he exploited how predictable, aloof, and self-satisfied they became through wokeism. Not only did the left help create the vacuum that allowed Trump to thrive, they've now gone missing in action and absent without leave when it comes to fighting him seriously. There's a big difference between confronting something in theory and confronting it head on in real life. Chuck Schumer is 75 years old. He's become the Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Senate, refusing to step aside to let somebody younger and more charismatic take the reins.

2:10Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez routinely outperforms him with voters in New York, yet he's already filed for re-election in 2028. This is why I would suggest that Democrats struggle to evolve. The talent exists, but it's buried under inter-party fights and power games and institutional pageantry. And Trump is predicting that he's going to be impeached again if the Democrats lose the midterms. You got to win the midterms, because if we don't win the midterms, it's just going to be, I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me. I'll get impeached. He's probably right about that, but it doesn't really matter considering he's already been impeached twice.

2:48At this point, he's probably depending on the spectacle because he seems to enjoy it. So the left is toxic and impotent. The right is toxic and transactional. And the government media complex is currently rewarding misinformation instead of accountability. I want to really, yeah, but she gets it.

3:12Trump's America First crowd are jumping ship as he begins to cash in on his intentionally engineered lame duck presidency. And this void in each direction has caused a once in a lifetime opening for radicalized moderates to emerge. And while radicalized moderation can sound like a contradiction, there are no new ideas under this sun. And this approach has worked many times before throughout history. America's founding fathers were radical centrists in their own time, rejecting both monarchy and mob rule, and building a system meant to check power and to keep one side from running the entire show.

3:52United we stand, divided we fall. And the most radical and revolutionary thing that real American patriots can do at a time like this is to set aside our differences instead of focusing on them, to lay down our political arms, and to reject extremism of any form other than the kind of radical tolerance that has and always will define what it means to be an American in the first place. To become a radicalized moderate means rejecting this mean, deceitful, and cold-hearted, inhumane attitude that has devoured the left and right wings of American politics. It also means rejecting these superficial constructs of weaponized gender and racial studies.

4:37I'm talking about taking all of that negative energy and pointing it towards live and let live and mind your business and letting liberals be liberals and conservatives be conservative. We've all seen it before and I'll say it a million times again on this show. Let the gays get married. Let the rednecks have our guns. Let the atheists be atheists. The Christians be Christian. I don't understand what's difficult about this. Do you realize that if we came together like that, the deep state would be powerless to fight our demands? America is supposed to be about freedom. Freedom to live your life as you please, as long as you're not hurting anybody else or taking their stuff.

5:11So do whatever you got to do. Smoke a bowl, eat a greasy burger, shoot your guns, praise whatever God you want or don't, and wish those two fellas next door a happy honeymoon, because it's only when people force their ways onto others that the big problems begin. And no, this is absolutely not the kind of message that Trump wants to hear, but his followers do. Red-blooded Americans all over the country respond to this kind of message because it goes over the heads of the left and right-wing dichotomy. Just because Trump supporters have been conned by this grifter doesn't mean that they're complicit in his evilness exactly.

5:46They're just brainwashed and treating them accordingly is going to help liberals understand the nature of the people they're dealing with finally. Alternatively, this message of freedom is also appealing to the patriotic American left in the center who don't want government telling them who they can or cannot marry or making medical decisions on their behalf for that matter. Protesting in the streets doesn't accomplish anything either. Otherwise, the powers that be wouldn't let you do it. If those of us in the middle could simply stop supporting the radicalized militant political theater types from within our own ranks on both sides even just for an exercise.

6:20We would find that we're much more powerful together than we are constantly at each other's throats. Anybody with two brain cells left to rub together and the ability to observe themselves from a second or third perspective knows that we have more in common with each other than we have differences. That is the one single thing that the enemies of freedom don't want you to hear. And that's why I believe that radical centrism is the only thing that can save America. That's it for today. And until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio. I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye bye.

6:54Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project. I want to really, yeah. But she gets it.

7:06You got to win the midterms because if we don't win the midterms, it's just going to be, I mean, they'll find a reason to impeach me. I'll get him pitched

Donald Trump didn’t just break American politics, he exposed how hollow it already was. The right sold its soul to a transactional grifter. The left responded with performative outrage, geriatric leadership, and empty lectures while the house burned. The media rewarded the chaos, the lies, and the spectacle because it was profitable. Now even Trump’s own America First crowd is fracturing as loyalty flows one way and accountability flows nowhere. This isn’t a call for unity or compromise. It’s a call for radical centrism, the refusal to lie for anyone, the rejection of cults on both sides, and the last real chance for adults to take the country back from MAGA freaks, woke theater kids, and the outrage economy before it’s too late.
