In short
The host attacks Donald Trump’s alleged deference to Vladimir Putin, argues Trump is stalling to enable a Russian takeover of Ukraine, and criticizes Labor Day anti-Trump protests as ineffective “cosplay.” He also comments on Gavin Newsom’s 2028 poll surge and Hillary Clinton’s warning about Supreme Court gay-marriage rulings.
Guest backgrounds
No guests are mentioned; it’s a solo monologue by Jesse Edwards.
Key claims
Putin is a “terrorist” killing civilians; Trump “licks Putin’s boots” and dismisses criticism as “fake news.” Ukraine peace would require Ukrainians to accept Russian gains. Protests won’t change outcomes; left demands are unrealistic.
Notable examples
Alaska Putin summit; October 7 Hamas attacks contrasted with Ukraine’s alleged nonprovocation; Texas congressional map redrawing; Epstein scandal referenced.

I'm still having a hard time imagining it, even though we saw it on live TV last week. I still can't believe it. Maybe it's because I'm a kid of the 80s who was raised on this stupid romantic Hollywood bullshit that the good guys always win, because obviously that's not the case. And all these pansy ass Republicans out there kowtowing, capitulating, and groveling to a two-bet third world dictator weasel-faced KGB thug makes me physically sick to my stomach. One, because these people know better and they're just doing it because it's what the big orange man baby wants.
1:05And two, there's nobody out there who seems to be able to do anything about it. Absolutely disgusting. And of course, Trump would allow himself to be pulled around by the orange hairs by this degenerate creep Putin. This Cold War throwback borscht-swilling goat. And I mean that as a pejorative, not as a compliment, which should be blatantly obvious. The man is a terrorist, the worst of the worst. And yet the leader of the free world, our commander in chief, is licking his boots like they're covered in KFC gravy. I would like to thank President Putin and his entire team whose faces, who I know in many cases, otherwise, other than that, whose faces I get to see all the time in the newspapers.
1:44You're very, you're almost as famous as the boss. And all the conservative thinkers, some of which I actually look up to, are right there with him. Basically cheering on the senseless murder of civilians. I mean, if you want to compare this to Israel and Gaza, that's up to you. But the Ukrainians didn't invade Russia unprovoked on October 7th, taking hostages and butchering a bunch of children at a music festival. Now, comparing Hamas to Ukraine is idiotic, but there are plenty of people doing that out there whose names I'm not going to repeat here. And say what you want about Zelensky. I don't happen to believe he's a bad guy here, especially in comparison to Putin.
2:16You don't have to like Zelensky. But when did the conservatives all turn into such a bunch of pussies? I'm sure glad this bunch of Republicans weren't in charge during the Cold War. Otherwise, we'd all be speaking Russian and saluting the hammer and sickle right now. Oh, you're scared that Russians might use nukes suddenly? I'm sure glad this current group of cuckold conservatives weren't in charge during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Can you imagine how they would have spun this back then? JFK is being reckless by standing up to Khrushchev. And he's promoting a World War III. We should just let the Soviets spark a few nukes 90 miles off the coast of Florida.
2:51What's the big deal? These are the same weaklings who think that Putin's threats are gospel, but somehow think that America, the most heavily armed superpower on the planet, should cower and compromise every time the KGB goon speaks. If this brand of conservative had been in charge in 1962, Cuba would have become one giant Soviet launch pad, and we'd all be eating borscht for breakfast.
3:17Trump in the middle of all this, as if his chances at winning the Nobel Peace Prize are on the line. He doesn't give a shit about Putin or Ukraine or any other third world Eastern European interests because he just wants this to be about him. The only thing it's ever been about to Trump is Trump. And he's desperately trying to get his name written down in the history books as something other than the tragic punchline that it is before the KFC finally takes its toll. Donald Trump is a joke, just like his half-assed measures to bring stability to any corner of this planet, because Donald Trump thrives on chaos, not stability.
3:54And in all probability, this entire deal that he's setting up with Putin is nothing but a stall tactic to allow Putin a complete takeover of Ukraine while Trump is in office. That's what it looks like to me, even though Trump is now, what, committing to provide Ukraine with security measures if they accept this land grab from the murderous bastard Vladimir Putin. If you listen to their language carefully, Russia's not even committing to a complete end to the war. They're just talking about a pause. They're just going to come back and take the rest of it after a little vodka break. Oh, and after the midterm elections, of course.
4:23Top headline at Newsweek, Trump defends Putin's summit against media major defeat claims. Oh, and he's absolutely right. Trump didn't come away empty handed. Him and his butt buddy Putin have obviously reached an understanding. Trump dismissed criticism of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska as fake news. You are fake news. Saying that the war in Ukraine could be ended almost immediately, but critics were making it harder to do so. It's all fake news. It's phony stuff. Yes, ended almost immediately if the Ukrainians agree to let Russia win the war, is what he's saying. Because Russia is openly killing Ukrainian civilians until they get what they want, and if anybody dares to step in and try to stop the slaughter of innocent civilians in Ukraine, they're in danger of being nuked by Putin?
5:06This is ridiculous. Any real American president would have had Putin sleeping on ice by now, not licking the KFC gravy off of his boots. But again, this is all because Trump wants what is best for him and his gilded image, not what's best for our country, which is yet another glaring reason that Donald Trump is not fit to lead our country. I'm an extremely stable genius. Next headline, nationwide anti-Trump protests planned for Labor Day. Here's what you need to know. A number of protests against President Donald Trump are set to take place across the country on Labor Day. But unless you're going to bring a million-man angry mob march to D.C., don't waste your time because political masturbation protests like this accomplish absolutely nothing.
5:46And if they did, they wouldn't let us do it in the first place. All the preaching and barking and singing to the choir, any way you want to look at it, you look like an absolute dolt out there with your signs and your blowhorns and you're honking your car horns at each other like it's going to hurt Trump's feelings as he's laughing his big orange ass off all the way to the bank. I'm really rich. The article says that protests will put pressure on the president and weaken the extent to which he can say that he commands broad support. However, the protests are not universal either, and the president is still popular with his supporters, even though he's probably lost close to a third of them over the Epstein fiasco in my rough guesstimation based on my professional opinion.
6:22The protests are entirely meaningless in today's world. They might have had some sort of impact before, you know, The internet was invented, but you're blowing hot air up your own ass if you think these protests are enough to move the needle one millimeter. I can see how somebody might think that I'd be all for these protests considering how I think Trump is by far the worst president in American history, let alone quite possibly the worst American in American history, but you would be wrong. On the website, the organizers of the protest listed the following demands. 1. Stop the billionaire takeover corrupting our government.
6:53Hey, I got news for you. You're too late. Decades too late. And if you had any grasp on logistics whatsoever, you'd realize that anything short of a violent and prolonged global revolution would be required. Yeah, good luck with that to the anti-gun crowd. Maybe it's better for you just to cosplay revolution with your symbolic protesting after all. Number two, protect and defend Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs for working people. Boring. Yeah, this has all the appeal of an AARP commercial. Number three, fully funded schools and healthcare and housing for all. Translation, the left-wingers want a socialist utopia where everything is free, which is never really going to work in the capitalist-socialist-hybrid model that we currently have now.
7:314. Stop the attacks on immigrants, black, indigenous, trans people, and all our communities. Geez, the translation. Make DEI, CRT, ESG, and all the other acronyms the singular focus on our lives so we can all religiously meditate on the religion of the state about our skin color and gender until we can label all forms of confrontation as prosecutable microaggressions. Yeah! I've seen the future, and it's full of litigation. Number 5. Invest in people, not wars. Translation? We're too weak and feeble to defend ourselves from the ugly nature of humanity, because we see everything through rose-colored glasses, and therefore cannot see the forest for the trees.
8:09Look, if you want a meaningful protest, you're going to have to pick a topic that the majority of Americans can get behind. And the only one I can think of right now would be the Epstein scandal. But apparently, America just isn't willing or able to set aside our differences to work together against this fraud of a human being in the White House. So we're going to continue to get the leaders that we deserve. And as far as I see it, these leftists protesting in the streets might as well be protesting themselves because they're the ones continually electing weak and ineffective Democrats, which in turn causes the rest of the country to elect Trump twice.
8:39If you don't like ICE raids, stop electing out-of-touch Democrats. If you don't like Donald Trump, why don't you choose some leaders who can think past surface-level identity politics? And if you don't like Trump winning, why don't you drop the ESG and the DEI and the CRT? Because every time you double down on that stuff, you're handing him another victory. Do you really think that Trump would have happened twice if you had an at least halfway intelligent and charismatic leader in the party? Speaking of at least halfway charismatic, next headline in Newsweek, Gavin Newsom surges in 2028 presidential primary poll.
9:12Support for California Governor Gavin Newsom as a possible Democratic presidential candidate and 2028 has surged over the past four months, which indicates support for the more aggressive position the Newsom has taken in standing up to President Trump, particularly over a plan by Republicans in Texas to redraw their state's congressional seat map in the hopes of winning more seats in the midterm elections next year. And I think this, for me at least, is a case of the enemy of my enemy being my friend. I'm not a big fan of Gavin Newsom, but he is trolling the heck out of Trump right now in a hilarious and effective fashion, and I cannot help but like it.
9:44Don't get me wrong, he's still a slick and or slimy politician either way you look at it. And I don't think he's going to play well with Midwesterners. But the important thing to remember is that he won't be running against Trump, even if Trump tries to go to war and stay in office. Because then you would have a million people protesting in D.C. without a permit, demanding that Trump be kicked out on his big orange butt. And Donald Trump's very, very large brain. Thankfully, time is a biatch and it's not on Trump's side. If you thought Biden was going loopy enough to replace him with his own vice president, then buckle up, buttercup, because Donald Trump's cheese is sliding off his cracker quicker than I can speak.
10:20Could Gavin Newsom beat somebody like J.D. Vance? Probably. I mean, J.D. isn't even popular with Republicans, and he's still the heir apparent of the party, so anything could happen. Gavin just comes across as a used car salesman. And so does J.D., for that matter. Either way, I get a feeling that our choices in 28 are not going to be very satisfactory or good for the country. I mean, just look around you at this current lot of losers in Washington and realize that it's gonna be one of them. No, it doesn't make me feel good, but anything would be better than Trump right now, I guess. Headline over at Drudge, Hillary Clinton warns Supreme Court will overturn gay marriage.
10:54Well, I guess you shouldn't have cheated Bernie Sanders out of that 2016 nomination for president, then should you? Because he had a better chance at beating Trump the first time around than you did. And we probably wouldn't be in the mess we are in now if you would have simply stepped aside and let the better candidate lead your party. Now, I don't blame Trump for being Trump. It's kind of like blaming a baboon for acting like a baboon. I blame the left for enabling this kind of behavior through their own corruption and ineptitude. And that's it for today. Until we can do it again, it's Newsweek Radio.
11:22I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project. You are fake news.
