In short
The episode centers on a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing where Kash Patel (described as Trump’s FBI director) claims there’s “no credible information” in the Epstein files that Jeffrey Epstein trafficked young women to anyone besides himself. Host Jesse Edwards mocks Patel’s answers when pressed by Sen. John Kennedy and Sen. Adam Schiff, and also riffs on Patel’s contentious exchange with Sen. Cory Booker. Notable examples include the Elgin, Illinois DHS operation where DHS denies two U.S. citizens were arrested, and the case of Narciso Barranco, a California man accused of being deported despite raising three Marines. It also covers Oklahoma pausing Bible instruction in public schools.

In the meantime, top headlines in Newsweek, Kash Patel says there's no credible info that Epstein trafficked young women to others, please.
0:38The remarks came during a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee in which Republican Louisiana Senator John Kennedy asked Patel about his knowledge of the Epstein files. Who, if anyone, did Epstein traffic these young women to besides himself? Himself. There is no credible information. None. If there were, I would bring the case yesterday that he trafficked to other individuals. And the information we have, again, is limited. So the answer is no one? For the information that we have. In the files? In the case file. I guess I don't know about you, but I think that case is closed, boys. I know that I'm 100 % satisfied with that answer from Trump's FBI director, aren't you?
1:20It feels great to know that we're not being lied to, and that our future as a nation is secure in the wisdom and protection of such upstanding law enforcement officials like Kashyap Patel. Yes, that's his first name. Kashyap. Not that I think that there's anything wrong with that. I just don't think we should call him Kash, because there was only one Kash, and that was Johnny Kash. But seeing as this answer from Kashyap was as clear as mud, another brilliant mind tried to press the FBI director on the Epstein files, Senator Adam Schiff. the guy who dropped the ball on holding Trump accountable over the last, I don't know, decade, tries to play bad cop, and here's how it went.
1:58You want the American people to believe that? Do you think they're stupid? No, I think the American people believe the truth, that I'm not in the weeds on the everyday movements of inmates. What I am doing is protecting this country, providing historic reform. Wow, isn't it great to see the grown-ups in charge on Capitol Hill? Clearly, these are the best and brightest that society has to offer. Let's continue. And combating the weaponization of intelligence by the likes of you, and we have countlessly proven you to be a liar in Russiagate in January 6th. Well, imagine that. Trump's own FBI director, under oath, screaming at nearly the top of his lungs in defense of January 6th.
2:38I mean, Russiagate was kind of always out in the open in the first place. Trump just stonewalled the opposition, which just happens to be. shifty adam schiff here who just happens to be arguing with cash yap battalier continue you are the biggest fraud to ever sit in the united states senate you're a disgrace to this institution and an utter coward i'm not surprised i'm not surprised that you continue to lie from your perch and put on a show so you can go raise money for your charade would it be possible if we could just simply have both of these ass clowns cancel each other out? Like, would the left be willing to let Adam Schiff go in exchange for cash yap here?
3:19Because I wouldn't trust either of these gentlemen with running a grocery store, and I'd be more likely to be happy to see them both in the unemployment line. Please continue, I think. You are a political buffoon at best. Well, you can take an internet troll. Take it to the bank that the FBI is protecting this country and the state and citizens of the California. will all be a historic reform than an internet point of order? Well, they're both right. Cash Yap is nothing but an internet troll and Adam Schiff here is a total buffoon. It's moments like this where I have very little trust in the system, by the way.
3:51But it didn't just end there. Our intrepid FBI director, Cash Yap, also got into an exchange of words with Senator Cory Booker about something completely unrelated I don't even care about because this is just crazy. It's my time, not yours. My God, my God. If you want to talk about... biding this country. I follow you on your social media posts that tear this country apart. You should be a unified, you should try all you want to not take responsibility for what you have said. You know, watching these clowns, I cannot help but ask myself if any of us truly ever grow up, because these men just remind me of teenagers.
4:31It's just pathetic, but I can't stop watching. It's like a train wreck, so please continue. Just one more. You're making a mockery of this committee. Sir, you don't tell me my time is over. The people of New Jersey tell me what my time is. You can't lecture me. You can tell me my time is over. You may be the target. I'm not going. Okay. I am not afraid of you. Mr. Chairman. I'm not afraid of you. Look, this kind of footage makes me feel a lot of things, and none of them are good. With all of these learned minds representing us, and all the heaps of experience and success that their resumes undoubtedly boast, it sure seems to me like we could be doing a lot better than this.
5:06And it's not even about Trump. It's about his opposition, too, because they absolutely suck. You know what? They absolutely suck so bad that they're the ones I blame for creating the space for somebody like Trump to enter in the first place. They also just happen to suck so bad that they've enabled him to thrive there, too, which is something. I mean, good God, they should have just cut Cash Yap's microphone and told him that if he can't hold the quorum, that he'll be held in contempt and placed in a holding cell by the sergeant at arms until he can behave himself. You know, like a well-adjusted, mature, highest-ranking police officer in the Federal Bureau of Investigation?
5:38What an absolute clown show. Speaking of clown shows, Kristi Noem joins Ice Ray. Next headline at Newsweek, DHS deny citizens were arrested by mistake because they're so well-known for their honesty and credibility these days. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary joined federal immigration agents during an early morning operation in Elgin, Illinois. an operation that resulted in multiple people being led away in handcuffs and two U.S. citizens being briefly detained. Yeah, the translation, that says to me that they were simply grabbing every Mexican in sight with racial profiling and sorting them out after the fact.
6:11CBS reports said that five people had been arrested during the raid, including two U.S. citizens, before being released after showing their papers to the Nazis. I'm kidding. Just calm down. But when asked by Newsweek, DHS denied that two U.S. citizens were arrested, saying that they were held briefly and subsequently released. Quote, no U.S. citizen was arrested. They were briefly held for their and officers' safety while the operation in-house was underway. This is standard protocol. So maybe this is being blown way out of proportion. I mean, it's known to happen. But based on the most recent and up-to-date track record of DHS when it comes to rounding up illegals, it wouldn't surprise me if this is how things are done now, generally speaking.
6:51I mean, not that your average American is going to lose any sleep over it, because your average American is just trying to figure out how to put food on the table next week, and they're tired of playing by the rules in a system that up until recently rewarded those who came here illegally with the same resources as everybody else, and that's not fair. But apparently the name of the game now is to detain first and ask questions later, and yes, all sorts of the wrong kind of people are getting deported. because this administration is as blunt as it is dumb. And there's just no way around that. It doesn't see any difference between somebody who just jumped the fence into Texas last week or somebody who's otherwise been a law-abiding citizen for the last 30 years and raised three kids with his wife who grew up to be Marines.
7:30Yeah, I'm not kidding. I saw this story over at Drudge this morning. A New York Times article called, He raised three Marines. His wife is American. The U.S. wants to deport him. After three decades in California, Narciso Barranco was arrested by agents while weeding outside of an IHOP, stirring outrage and a fight to stop his deportation. Before dawn on June 21st, Narciso loaded his weed trimmer, lawnmower, and leaf blower into his white F-150 pickup. He had three IHOP restaurants to landscape and then seven homes. Can you imagine doing that all day long? That's a lot of hard work. His goal was to finish in time to cook dinner with his wife, Martha Hernandez.
8:05Dude raised three Marines. People like this shouldn't be deported. he should be on the fast track for an honorary automatic citizenship or some shit. But I guess that's just too far nuanced for meatheads like Trump, and cheered on by supposed evangelicals who truly believe that this approach is somehow sanctioned by God himself with Trump as his unlikely vessel. No Christian I know would deport a guy like Norisco Barranco. Not the real Christians I know, anyway. You know, the folks who actually practice what they preach? They do exist. Few and far between, sure, but they're out there. Thankfully.
8:36No, I'm not religious, but I don't mind religious folks who actually walk the walk. And I mean, Trump is at least approachable. He's a lot of bad things, but I mean, he's at least negotiable sometimes. So why isn't anybody from the evangelical wing of the Republican Party begging Trump to ask DHS to back off on this guy and show some mercy? I know there are some religious leaders on the conservative side of the aisle doing just this kind of thing, but there's nobody in leadership, nobody in the GOP calling for this. I mean, maybe there are behind closed doors that we're not aware of, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
9:05The best I can do is hope that someone with a president's ear can make such a request. I mean, all they have to do is explain how it would make Trump seem like a more reasonable person willing to negotiate this person's citizenship. You know, I'm not a fan of Donald Trump, but I would shake his hand if he decided to help somebody like this. It's never gonna happen, but I would gladly be proven wrong. Don't deport Narciso Barranco. I hope I'm not butchering his name, but don't do that to him or his wife or his three Marines that he raised. Crying out loud, here's the next headline at newsweek.com.
9:34Conservative state Supreme Court halts plan for Bible instruction in school. Oh boy, here we go. The conservative-leaning Oklahoma Supreme Court temporarily blocked the state's plan to integrate Bible instruction and paused the implementation of new social studies standards after legal challenges argued that the measures violated the separation of church and state and open meeting rules. On July 1st, 33 Oklahoma parents, teachers, and faith leaders challenged the state's new standards, claiming they were unconstitutional due to forcing Christian beliefs on public school students. Yeah, this is all fun and games, right?
10:06Yeah, it's all fun and games for the MAGA hats until Muslims and Satanists start asking for prayer corners, isn't it? Because I think we all know they just want their religion in school, which is fundamentally absurd. Because unless you're willing and able to open the door for all religions and faiths, including the flying spaghetti monster, which is a real thing, go look it up if you don't believe me, then you need to check your own personal belief systems at the door, please. Because the main reason most of us don't want prayer in the classroom is because our schools will be quickly overrun by every new sort of made-up religion known to man and beyond.
10:37We're not talking about just prayer in school, because Republicans in Oklahoma want the Bible to be part of the curriculum, which is a completely different story. Because school is for learning math and reading and science and history. Church is for learning about your God. So please, go and do it there instead. I mean, thankfully my kids are mostly old and grown and having kids of their own, but I would totally homeschool a kid over letting them be indoctrinated about religion in a public school. And I'm really not sure what is worse, the right pushing religion in school or the left pushing sexuality to our kids.
11:08I mean, forgive me for painting with such a big wide brush. That's what I do. And oh my God, would you look at the time? We are out of it. Don't forget to like and subscribe over on YouTube. It's at Newsweek Radio. And until we can do it again, I'm Jesse Edwards. Catch you next time. Bye. And we say bye bye. Newsweek Radio is a member of the Trust Project.
