0:28Insurance isn't one size fits all. today we're talking about ufos and aliens for a lack of a better term because as many of you know by now i'm one of those who believe that it goes much much deeper than that and i've even gone so far as to share my own paranormal experiences here on this program you'll have to dig deep to find that one so in the interest of full disclosure with my audience in the context of what I'm about to talk about here. I should say up front that I am a deist, which means that I believe in God, but I also reject all forms of religion as nothing more than other human beings trying to explain how life works from a primitive religious perspective.

1:11Imagine a secular God. Imagine a secular God without all the religious nonsense or costumes or rituals that normally come with it. That's where I'm at. It's also where a lot of our founding fathers were. But I say all of this to set the stage for a top trending headline here at Newsweek today. Pastor meeting allegedly told aliens invented Christianity. Oh, the humanity. Well, that certainly isn't your traditional garden variety politics on a Wednesday afternoon. A friendly reminder to like and subscribe if you want to hear these things in real time. But these are at least some of the more interesting points in the timeline that we're currently living.

1:52And so why not explore the possibilities together? You skeptics might want to put on your imagination caps for this one. You remember imagination caps, don't you? Or is that just something they talked about nonstop to us 80s kids? Here's Trump himself promising to release information about UFOs. Do you have an update on the UFO files and what might be when we're going to be seeing this? Well, I think we're going to be releasing as much as we can in the near future for some reason. and I guess it's just a reason it's been in the minds of people for a long time. That is such, they want to find out about the UFOs and anything having to do with UFO or related material and we're going to be releasing a lot of things that we have and I think some of it's going to be very interesting to people.

2:39I think what's most interesting about Trump when he talks about UFOs is that he always says some people are interested in it but never that he is interested in it very much, if at all specifically. For some reason, and I guess it's just a reason it's been in the minds of people for a long time, that is such, they want to find out about the UFOs. And that alone gives me perhaps more questions about what's going on than anything these files will reveal that we don't already know. So my question is, why wouldn't somebody like Trump be captivated like everybody else by a revelation like this? Why is he so nonchalant about it like it's just another casual curiosity?

3:21Where are his chalants? Is he disinterested because he doesn't fully grasp the weight or gravity of the situation? I mean, that's entirely possible. And he's not exactly good at reading a room when he's never been required to, since he just does whatever the hell he wants. Is he pretending to be nonchalant about this because he's got some sort of grift coming behind this entire release of information that I'm assuming will just be another rehash of the same old footage that we've all seen thousands of times on YouTube. It is a very strange way for a sitting president to talk about these sorts of things, but what can I say?

3:53He's about as strange as a person can get. Maybe he's one of the aliens, and that's what they're waiting to unveil. Hey, I mean, it would explain some things, at least. To begin releasing government files relating to UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena. And I figured this was a good crowd because I know you people, you're really into that. I don't know if I am. Here's Cash Patel, the FBI director, talking about this upcoming file dump on UFO slash UAP disclosure, talking to Hannity. We're looking at it. Here's the thing. I want all the details. Here's the thing. Shut up. The president before President Trump could have said, hey, let's look at that and get the American people the information.

4:34What did he do? He stood up an interagency process with Department of War leading that effort to get out the documentation related to everything that you're talking about, not just from the FBI, from the IC and everywhere else. And so what do we do? We already delivered our first trance of information to that committee, and they're going to be publicly releasing this information very soon. We are all for it. There's nothing in this subject that we're talking about that we don't want released. Our job at the FBI is to work with the White House and DOW, give them the information, and then they're going to put that on the file.

5:09All right, he's just vamping at this point. Cut it off there. Look, I don't trust Trump or this clown, Cash Patel, or any high-ranking member of this administration for that matter. But let's just set politics aside for a minute and assume that what Trump and Patel are saying is correct. And that it's not just some sort of BS-fabricated distraction away from the Epstein files. If by some odd chance that these clowns are telling the truth, and that we are on the cusp of true full disclosure of what the U.S. government knows about these things, are we not living in the most incredible times known to man?

5:43I can only hope that this isn't just another one of Trump's scams, but I'm not going to hold my breath. And back to this Newsweek article, because supposedly Team Trump brought in a few pastors to warn them that this upcoming info dump about UFOs was going to have a major impact on their congregations in a negative way. Pastor and YouTuber Larry Ragland wrote on Twitter, Never Gonna Call It X, that, quote, a very well-known congressman from Missouri called into a meeting that he was on and said, quote, they're preparing to tell us that they are from another dimension, and that these beings, these aliens, whatever you want to call them, they were the ones that seeded us here.

6:21There's no such thing as God. Jesus was invented by them and the Bible was invented by them. Unquote. So don't say I didn't warn you about putting those imagination caps on because hold on to your seats. I think we just left the planet. But be not afraid. My imagination powers are strong enough to get us through this mess. This is why I explained earlier that I'm a deist, which means that I believe in God but reject all religion on principle. And here's where I think there's something interesting to be said here. assuming that this is all correct at face value in the sort of leap of faith that can only be considered a thought exercise.

6:59If we are just a science experiment and some interdimensional test tube created by beings who can enter and exit our realm while living amongst us in a parallel dimension, I can see how it would be a lot harder to digest the Bible, the Torah, or the Quran, or any other religious writings of mortal beings for that matter, wouldn't it? I mean, many of us are already past this point, though. And if aliens and UFOs or interdimensional beings are responsible for creating the universe as we know it, is enough to make you question your belief in God? Well, then I would kindly suggest that you never had much faith in God to begin with.

7:36Let's digest that for just a minute. And apply the deepest, darkest science fiction, black mirror, alien invasion scenario that your mind can generate. Yeah, that could render religion absolutely useless. For a lot of people, because they weren't studying the nature of the creator, they were busy worshipping the religious doctrines themselves. I'm talking about God without religion. Amen. What if this thing we call God is beyond the legend of the Bible? Which is nothing more than words written by other human beings. Sure, the Bible is incredible, don't get me wrong. but it was written by men and women with an understanding of the world starting around 1400 BC.

8:19A collection of writings spanning thousands of years lost and rediscovered and edited and rearranged and institutionalized and weaponized and bastardized for generations. It's incredible that any of the teachings are still capable of getting through. So in that sense, perhaps it is somewhat miraculous of a book. And I'm not trying to dump on religion here because the church and the synagogue and the mosque and the ashram have done many incredible things for people of all faiths. But these faiths are the vehicles, not the destination. And from my perspective as a deist, this is where people often mistake religion itself for the God that they're trying to understand.

8:58Something else interesting here in this Newsweek article points to is that while this will drive many people away from the church, it could also cause non-believers to turn towards religious institutions for answers. Which is easy, because most of them will just say that it's demons. You know, instead of actually trying to figure out what's happening with the eyes, ears, and minds that God gave them, God didn't give you a Bible or the Torah or the Koran. God gave you eyes to see and ears to hear, to paraphrase the good book itself. All I'm saying is just try acting like it once in a while. Now, do I think the government is about to announce that aliens invented Christianity?

9:36Probably not. But the philosophical implications of why people fear that possibility are absolutely fascinating to me. Because if the mere suggestion of something beyond our understanding is enough to shatter your faith entirely, then maybe what you really had faith in was the framework itself, not the creator behind it. And with that, I think it's finally safe to take those imagination caps off now. Put them back in the closet, right next to your childhood optimism in your blockbuster membership cards, but maybe just keep them within reach. You know, just in case these lunatics in Washington accidentally tell the truth about something for once.

From the publisher

Today’s show goes far beyond politics into something stranger. Jesse Edwards explores a simple question. If UFO disclosure is enough to shake your faith in the almighty creator, did you have more faith in religion than you did in God?
